Bavaro Beach, located in Punta Cana, is a popular and stunning destination known for its calm turquoise waters and pristine white sand. This beach offers kilometers of fine white sands, crystal clear waters with turquoise blue tones, and lush vegetation including long rows of palm trees along the coast. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as sailing, snorkeling, and diving.
Visited twice in the past 2 to 3 years. Very nice. Open to the public. I walked here from Hotel Punto 4. 45 minutes. Lots of resorts.

Very pretty beach with white sand and palm trees. There is a nice swimming area with many restaurants, shops and water activities close by. We really enjoyed our time here!

Stunning. The colour of the water is why we travel for 10hrs on a plane to the Carribean. A lot of resorts, water sports, bars and restaurants around. Basically everything you need. It's a must visit if you traveling to Punta Cana or DR in general.

Playa Rincon is a renowned beach in the Dominican Republic, featuring over 3 miles of bright white sand and turquoise waters. It is rumored to be one of the spots where Christopher Columbus first landed in 1492. The beach is nearly two miles long, offering ample space for visitors to stroll and relax. With its coconut palm trees, crystal-clear river, and picturesque bay, Playa Rincon has been recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Absolutely breathtaking. Between the crystal clear turquoise water and the horizon of mountains, it's one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is quite secluded(which is why it's so unspoiled and stunning), and the beach doesn't have much as far as food and drinks, so recommend bringing your own. This is the perfect place if you want to spend the day relaxing surrounded by the most stunning scenery. The water is perfect but in some areas a bit rocky. However, there is tonnes of soft sand under most of the water. 1000% recommend this beach it's a must see with your own eyes type of place.

Playa Rincón – A Hidden Paradise Worth Visiting!!!! Playa Rincón is hands down one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited. From the moment we started the drive there, we knew it was going to be special — the road itself is stunning, surrounded by lush nature and scenic views that set the mood for a perfect beach day in the amazing tropical weather. The beach is absolutely breathtaking. The water is crystal clear, calm, and inviting — perfect for swimming or just floating and relaxing. The landscape feels untouched, giving it that hidden paradise vibe. We were lucky to visit on a sunny day and spent hours just soaking it all in. Another thing that made the visit so memorable was the people. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the charm of the place. We truly had a great time, filled with laughter, sun, and pure peace. The only suggestion I would make is to improve the cleanliness of the beach. With just a bit more attention to keeping it tidy, Playa Rincón could easily be one of the top beaches in the world. Still, it’s an unforgettable spot — a must-visit for anyone traveling to the Dominican Republic. Love it.
Wael N — Google review
Been there in December. Not a lot of people but very big waves which makes it impossible to actually swim especially with kids. But it’s fun for sure. Beach is a bit dirty, trash not being cleaned up, but not enough trash to be a problem. Of course lots of sand and idyllic scenery.
Martin M — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited! The water is crystal clear, and the locals are warm and welcoming. The entire experience was incredible — I’d highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Dominican Republic.

The most beautiful place I have ever been to so far. There is a restaurant at the beach, no electricity, but they cook on open fire. Hands down, the food there was absolutely the best I have eaten on the island, top notch quality.

Only Person on the Beach and a Great Action Show inclusive! I can really recommend coming here!

To be fair, it was days after hurricane Erin, the beach was full of rotting sargassum, millions of flies everywhere. We ate lunch at the food stalls there swarming of flies. We ate there and 3 got severe food poisoning. It was Poor judgment on our part.

Juanillo Beach is a stunning and serene destination located in the exclusive area of Cap Cana, Punta Cana. It boasts a long stretch of fine white sand, shallow turquoise waters, and rows of palm trees that create a picturesque tropical landscape. The beach is ideal for families with children due to its calm and protected waters, making it perfect for swimming and relaxation. Visitors can access the beach through the gate of Cap Cana or enjoy public access during the day.
The beach is wonderful, with an area in front of the Juanillo beach club that includes a server for ordering drinks and food. The restaurant starts service around 11am. The drinks were really good. I ordered a coco loco and beers. The beers were super cold. As for the beach, the water is crystal clear, warm and the beach was basically sargasso-free which is something I liked. I would recommend going early around 8-9am to get the best spots right in front of the ocean for the most relaxing experience.
Isadora M — Google review
We went there in the end of August and we have noticed a lot of sargassum. Now, I know sargassum is a worldwide problem, but we only saw the beach being cleaned up once a day in the morning, so by afternoon it is full of sargassum again. I saw other places doing more about it. It certainly did not feel luxurious. Another thing I disliked is that they clean the sargassum but they dump it at the beach entrance, so it smells really bad doesn't matter where the wind is coming from. Also, many places of the beach is actually made by concrete and not sand, it is hard on your feet and you may get hurt if not wearing appropriate shoes, and it also creates a virtual sensation about the beauty of the place. Last but not least, this is a private beach dedicsted to Cap Cana residents, to get in you either gotta pay or be staying inside the condo.
Ricky S — Google review
Absolutely stunning! Clean, not crowded and the water crystal clear. It's a paradise. a bit windy but nothing crazy.
Victor M — Google review

What was a last minute/quick weekend trip ended up being the most needed restful beach day that I could've spent. This beach was amazing. Please if you're ever in PC stop by and spend a day.
Shanique G — Google review
The beach was beautiful. The beach has white soft sand. There were cabanas to sit or lay under for shade. They had servers available to guide you or bring you food and drinks. There were bathrooms available. The water was barely cool. They have a swimming area that is blocked off from the waves of the ocean. We found some rocks and coral. One of the larger rocks had plants growing on it with a couple cute little white crabs and a snail.
Nicole B — Google review
Great beach! Not too busy, always somewhere to sit/lay, provides great shade options, and the bar/food options are delicious. The staff are very attentive and will lead you to seats that are open. We had the same waiter 3 days in a row, and he was amazing. Highly recommend Juanillo Beach
Marie B — Google review
Beautiful beach, no waves, white sand, lots of chair lounges. Once you get access to Cap Cana, you do not need to pay to get to the beach. Food is good, it may seem pricey for some, but hello! You're in Cap Cana! This is a very exclusive and safe place, you can go in the water and will find all your belongings when you come back. This beach is perfect to go relax even read a book, there's not loud music, not spring-break type of people, just a very classy and relaxed atmosphere. My family and I love it!

Playa Dorada is a stunning beach in the Dominican Republic, known for its palm-lined golden sands and crystal-clear waters. It's not just a beach; it's a destination offering luxury and relaxation. The area provides various activities, from kitesurfing to exploring waterfalls at 27 Charcos de Damajagua and snorkeling at Cayo Arena. Visitors can also immerse themselves in local culture by visiting nearby villages, trying Dominican cuisine, or learning about cocoa and coffee plantations.
Excellent ocean swimming on the North coast of Dominican Republic. Mount Isabel de Torres provides protection from hurricanes, we are here during hurricane Melissa, Oct. 2025 and only have yellow flags along the beachfront. Great Beach.
Paul B — Google review
Very nice stretch of beach. There are some coral rocks in some areas, and a lot of seaweed washes up, but they rake it and keep it clean. The beach itself is quiet and stretches for quite a distance and encompasses several resorts.
Dennis S — Google review
We had a really enjoyable day at this beach and would absolutely return, but there are a few things that kept it from being a full five-star experience. What truly stood out was the experience— not just in what was available, but in the people. The beach had a lively, local charm with vendors walking by offering everything from handmade chachkes and sunglasses to snacks, drinks, and even photo ops with animals like parrots and iguanas. It made the beach feel vibrant and alive, and our kids loved the excitement. There were plenty of options for relaxing — cabanas, beach chairs, and umbrellas were available to rent, and a full-service beachfront restaurant was just steps away. While we appreciated the convenience, everything came at an added cost and most of the facilities, including the chairs, cabanas, restrooms, and changing areas, could really use a refresh. They worked, but they were definitely showing their age. The food was okay — nothing to rave about, but good enough to keep us going through a day in the sun. What made the meal more enjoyable was the service. Our favorite waiter, **Christian**, was kind, funny, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He really elevated the whole experience. There are also lots of little shops nearby if you want to browse or pick up souvenirs, and the waves were perfect for swimming and playing. Overall, this beach has character, color, and charm — and with a few upgrades, it could easily be five stars.
Kimberly H — Google review
In December and January the water was quite full of algae. Maybe it’s the season, I don’t know. Not in all the parts it was full with algae, but anyway it was disturbing. So, sometimes we were going to Sosua beach as it was wonderful there….

Great beach, not to crowed at the end of july, good for relaxing and enjoy the area.
Emerson. — Google review
I recently visited this beautiful white sand beach, and I must say, it's impeccably maintained despite the numerous resorts nearby. Arriving with a tourist group, we were delighted to find a designated area with beach chairs and umbrellas exclusively for tourists. The availability of tap water for a refreshing post-beach bath was a thoughtful touch. Additionally, the convenience of having a restaurant nearby serving snacks and drinks added to the overall enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this beach for a relaxing getaway.
Madhuli P — Google review
Great beach. Water was 85. Food & drinks were good. Fresh water showers to clean up.
Chris K — Google review
Stunning beach that is only accessible for the resorts in the Playa Dorada gated complex. Technically, locals can access it if they enter on the west side of the public beach and walk a couple of kilometers, but that's not an issue for me. Pristince sandy beaches with beautiful warm blue water with waves to jump in. There are kiosks to rent jetskis, parasailing, snorkel tours, etc.

Playa Fronton is a secluded and picturesque sandy beach located in the Samana Peninsula. Accessible only by boat or on foot, this Robinson Crusoe-style beach is surrounded by palm trees and impressive cliffs, offering a unique and spectacular setting. The clear waters provide excellent snorkeling opportunities due to the reef nestled in front of the beach. Nature lovers and adventure seekers will appreciate the splendid natural landscape, with lush green surroundings that offer fascinating hiking prospects.
Absolutely beautiful. If you’re coming here with a boat, don’t let your boat captain convince you to go to Madame. You’ll be disappointed. Stay here all day. Also, bring your food because they’ll try to rip you off. Chicken with rice for 800 pesos?
Kuba — Google review
This is a must see place. The beach is not suitable for swimming but the nature around is simply amazing. Be sure to order a pina colada for 500 pesos or a bottle of beer. Walk from one end of the beach to the other and just feel it. The place is amazing. Like from books about pirates. The cost of the excursion is 1500. This only includes the boat, no food, etc. But I think this is a very nice price. Madama Beach is not worth your time. Leave a tip for the guys working on the boat!

Playa ! Fronton Paradise ! Must see if You in Galeras ! We arrive in Galeras for many natural wonders! Stay at Casa por que No ! Magnificent place, beautiful gardens ! Monica great host and best breakfast ever!!! Walked to La Playita Beach , took a tuctuc to Playa Rincon for a Day ,,, and other beaches near ! We spend 7 Days in Galeras town ! And we loved it 🥰! Got there by bus from Santo Domingo , $500 rd money each very convenient… the views from the bus are beautiful!!! Landscape!!!Then took the boat to Madame beach and Fronton ,,, , nothing like this ! I never imagine such a beautiful place !!! At first the weather did not cooperate,, we wait a day or two ,, cause was cancel , they need a permit to go there ,,, was intimidating,, but worthy!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙌🙌

Beautiful place, not really swimabable beach, they have food and drinks
Isai G — Google review
Really nice beach. There were more people than I expected. If you enter the water from the middle of the beach be sure to have watershoes to avoid cuts. If you don't have watershoes, enter the water from the left side of the beach, more smooth there and less rocky. Good snorkeling, so bring your equipment! Watch out for the currents while you're swimming (don't go too far).
Jungletraveler00 1 — Google review
Nice beach but not easy to swim. Lot of rocks around. We did a overnight trip to the beach with a tour and enjoy the sunrise a lot. The guys from the hut there are cleaning the beach too. There was no trash at all, when we were there.
Becci L — Google review
We went from Galeras on a day the water was too rough for a boat tour. Instead, we took a motoconcho, payed 3000 pesos (~40 €/$) for a round trip to la Boca de Diablo. We also wouldn't have wanted to drive there ourselves due to the bad condition of the road and deep pools. Then, we walked the trial to playa fronton. In this case, due to the bad weather the path was muddy and the walk was more like 1.25 h than the 50 mins they said. Still, it was well accessible if you have a good condition. There was no danger whatsoever, like some people seem to suggest, we only encountered a few friendly people harvesting coconuts. The upside of no boats allowed was that we encountered a private beach, with still crystal clear water. This was by far the best beach I've ever been!

This beautiful piece of paradise is in the best location. There is a lot of seaweed on the beach. People can take a nice walk to different areas. Tourist could go to the gift shop. Take a look at the shipwreck in the water on the resort. Drinks are not available at the beach. People can get their drink at the pool area.

This beach is amazing but it’s PRIVATE!!! You must be in the resorts or eat at the restaurant as a member of the public to gain access. So you will have to spend to use it…
Bianca R — Google review
Arena Gorda is a beautiful beach, especially at sunrises. There was some seaweed, but the hotel we were staying at (Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana) did a good job cleaning it. I believe most hotels do. We were staying at our hotel at Punta Cana for two weeks. As we really wanted to see the difference between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, we explored 6 more beaches (including famos La Romana, Bayahibe, and Boca Chica) on a rented car. We didn't really feel the big difference between the ocean and the sea. We haven't been to Saona, though.
Natalia P — Google review
Amazing sunsets at night, but extremely busy and tight during the day Not much room to move around.
Lawrence — Google review
Way too much seaweed on the beach but I guess a lot of countries around the Caribbean were experiencing the same. Couldn't swim at all and didn't even hang out there because the seaweed smelled. A truck was coming by scooping it all up.

Cayo Levantado, also known as Isla Bacardi, is a small island off the coast of Samana. It's home to the exclusive Bahia Principe resort and offers a stunning white-sand beach with clear waters and panoramic ocean views. The island is accessible by land via modern highways and also welcomes cruise ships during the winter season. Visitors can enjoy seafood restaurants, bars serving tropical cocktails, and a true Caribbean atmosphere on this paradisiacal island.
🌟 Cayo Levantado: The Ultimate Private Island Paradise! 🌟 Our recent family trip to Cayo Levantado in Samaná, Dominican Republic, was an experience that truly exceeded all expectations. This breathtaking private island is like a vision out of a Pinterest magazine, and our family of nine, spanning three generations (from ages 10 to over 60), enjoyed every moment. Here’s why this destination has become our all-time favorite: 1. Seamless Private Transportation • Our family of nine was greeted with private van transportation, perfectly suited for our mixed age group, from young kids to seniors. • The driver was smooth and careful, making the long drive to the island comfortable and enjoyable. 2. Warm Arrival with Refreshments • After the drive, we arrived to find refreshing drinks, cookies, and complimentary beverages, which felt like a warm welcome and a chance to unwind. • This arrival lounge allowed us to laugh, refresh, and take photos, knowing our adventure was just beginning. 3. Personalized Ambassador Service • Upon docking at the island, we were greeted by our personal ambassadors—a luxury we’d never experienced before. • Ambassadors handled our suitcases, guided us to our rooms, and ensured a smooth, efficient check-in process. • Every guest, no matter their room type, is assigned a personal ambassador, making the experience feel VIP for all. 4. Luxurious Presidential Suite with Stunning Views • We stayed in the Presidential Suite—a surprise upgrade! The suite was enormous, with two balconies (front and back) offering breathtaking views. • The suite featured a private plunge pool, adding a touch of romance to our spring break getaway. • Located in the main building, we could enjoy views of nightly activities, including karaoke and lively performances, from the comfort of our room. 5. Exclusive Private Beach Access • One of the most memorable parts of Cayo Levantado is the private beach reserved exclusively for resort guests. • This secluded beach felt like our own oasis, with no crowds, allowing our family to relax, play, and explore without worry. • Security was thorough; only those with wristbands could access private areas, adding an extra layer of safety and exclusivity. 6. Delicious, All-Inclusive Dining • The food was exceptional, with a wide array of options for every meal, all included in the package. • Room Service: Available 24/7, which was ideal for our family after long days of swimming and activities. Expect a 30-minute wait (standard for all-inclusive resorts), so don’t be misled by other reviews—this is typical for freshly prepared food. • Options ranged from traditional Dominican dishes to international favorites, ensuring there was something for everyone. 7. Fun and Free Water Sports • The resort offers a variety of complimentary water sports, including: • Paddleboarding • Clear kayaking • Beach biking • For a small additional charge ($20), we tried the exhilarating underwater jet experience—a fun way to race and explore the water! 8. Effortless Island Navigation with Golf Carts • Getting around the island was made easy with golf carts driven by friendly staff. • We used these carts to move between our suite, the beach, the pool, and other locations, adding a touch of fun to our island exploration. 9. Outstanding Staff and Service • The entire team at Cayo Levantado—from kitchen staff to massage therapists, bartenders, and the entertainment crew—were warm, attentive, and truly committed to making our experience memorable. • Every interaction was met with a smile, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Overall Experience Cayo Levantado is a true paradise that caters to families, couples, and groups looking for a luxurious, secluded retreat. This was more than a vacation—it was a dream come true. From private beach access to impeccable service and unforgettable activities, every aspect of our stay was carefully crafted to exceed expectations. **Honored by Lovely Is YOUR Story. Cayo Levantado is one of the most beautiful islands in the Dominican Republic. Its white sand beach is clean, beautiful and inviting. You must pay for a boat to take you across the bay. There you can buy lunch, and enjoy the beach for a few hours. The island is in Samana bay. Highly recommend a trip there if visiting the Dominican Republic.

Beautiful beach. That was the last stop on our buggie trip and was worthed to stop by and enjoy the view. I wish we've had enough time to go for a swim. The water looks amazing and inviting for a swim.

Nice free public beach….free if you bring your own chair or towel to sit on. There is a fee to rent a lounge seat. We were charged $20 USD for 2 seats for the day. But the beach is lovely. Lots of waves but shallow to swim & wade in the water. It was pretty crowded but still very enjoyable. Especially considering that most beaches in the northern coast area are full of seaweed right now, just the peak of summer. There are a few vendors at entrance and we only noticed one food option, but it was delicious! Cold drinks, seafood platters, fries and such reasonably priced considering you’re paying for the convenience. One of the coldest beers I had on the island! Taxis hover around the area so not hard to find a ride, but they can be pushy. Overall a good afternoon.
Wailym C — Google review
A stunning beach with palm trees, soft white sand, and gentle waves. A great place for relaxing and swimming. There wasn’t a bunch of seaweed like some of the other beaches around Punta Cana. There are also a few places to get drinks and snacks as well as chairs and umbrellas to sit under. I highly recommend a visit

Visited during an excursion. The beach itself is nice. The views are beautiful. But the water is not blue, it was brown, of dark color. Surprisingly, there were not any sargassums there. There are many annoying souvenir vendors. The restrooms (toilets), have no accommodations. The doors would not close, the lockets are stolen and broken, the bulbs are missing, you can see only wires, even the flush buttons are stolen, it is dirty, it is ghetto. Even if you come there, there is no way you can find a place to change your clothes.
Rose D — Google review
It's a beautiful beach with wide sandy spots and calm waves. It can get crowded but if you walk to the ends there are fewer people. Parking closer costs money but farther away there are limited free spots. There are bathrooms and lots of places to buy drinks and souvenirs.
Michelle M — Google review
Beautiful beach. Lots of local families enjoying a beach day. Places to get refreshments. A few vendors but they weren't pushy.
Lisa M — Google review
Amazing beach with beautiful view it is a must to visit however be careful with vendors prices are crazy expensive I expected to see prices higher than local bars but 20$ for a piña colada 🙃🙃🙃 if you are coming to spend the day just bring your snacks and drinks 😉
Rafael L — Google review
The beach is beautiful, in comparison to other beaches around the Dominican Republic, I give it a three-star review because while you do not have to partake in renting beach chairs, umbrellas, or even purchasing the food... I wanted to; however, the prices they list are all in dollars and in many instances are far more than prices paid in the U.S. and wv n in Japan where I just traveled from. Additionally, if you pay via credit card you will pay between 10% and 25% additional charge. While I wanted to support the local economy, I do not appreciate being taken advantage of with these ridiculous prices placed on what is supposed to be a public beach. A comparison between Bayahibe and Macao, places Bayahibe prices much more reasonable than Macao prices.

Sosua Beach is a picturesque bay with calm, clear waters and a sandy shoreline that attracts divers. The area has an interesting history, once being a banana plantation with a shipping port that closed in the late 1930s. During the height of the Nazi regime, Sosua became a haven for Jewish refugees thanks to an initiative by DORSA.
One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in the Dominican republic. When you walk in, it looks a little sketchy, but there’s a ton of shops. We felt safe the entire time most of the shops are covered by trees, but the beach is beautiful and the sunsets are amazing. Plus the Clearwater definitely recommend. We did have to pay to sit close to the water. And we did have a lot of vendors approaching us. But it wasn’t a problem for us. We enjoyed the experience we enjoyed sitting close to the water in our server was very friendly. If you ask for Roberto, he’ll definitely take care of you. He is further down on the beach.

Great beach, plenty of affordable activities, be aware of the many solicitors and vendors everyone appears to inflate price for foreigners, or wants a cut, or deal.

Awesome place to relax and drink a cold coconut water. It was August and the water was irresistible! Warm gentle waves. Not crowded during the week. A few pesky sellers floating around but doesn't ruin it.
John L — Google review
Fun day to spend on the beach. You can watch the many boats or get on a charter party or fishing, snorkel, dive boat very easy. Theres a pathway that runs parallel with many resturants, bars and vendors selling t-shirts, bathing suits, coverups etc and lots if tourist items as well as cigars. Can be somewhat annoying as each area has people right in your face to go into their place even after you say no gracias ive shopped or eaten already. They will jump on you right from the parking lot for services which can be helpful 1st time. I just say give me your whatsapp and when ready ill call. Thus the drop in stars and for toilets. Cost us 800 pesos for beach loungers for 2. (Nov, 2024) even though we ate and had the famous pins colada in a pineapple. (SO good and filling) they tell you beach chairs are separate service but we paid the same guy. Washrooms are pretty bad at our resturant no seat and sign says no caca. I asked how my wife would go they showed me a napkin and wiping motion so shes expected to sit on the piss soaked rim. There are main washrooms near front for 25 pesos but not much better my wife said but also showers. It can be quite busy good day for people watching If this review helps you please give a like

Beautiful views, nice sand, clean, teeming with sea life, a good selection of amenities (at tourist prices). The entrance feels sketchier than the beach, with lots of abandoned shops near the start. We didn't feel like paying for beach chairs so we sat a little bit off the main part of the beach and no one bothered us about it. We learned the hard way that we should have checked the wind direction and swell before going to make sure we could enjoy the water. North and Northeast winds will affect your ability to swim and snorkel. When we were there no one was allowed to swim because the swell was over 1.2 meters. Fair enough, their job is to keep people safe. Still kind of disappointing because we wanted to go swimming. Still a nice outing.

In this beach you can watch the best sunset in the north cost. It’s an open place, There are littler restaurants and chairs, to have the chairs and the umbrellas is a payment extra. Best place to relax.

It is still a lovely beach.... Buuuuutttt.. parking is now 250 pesos (apparently due to the Sosúa "revitalization")! I went in a low season so I understand everybody was a little desperate to make ends meet, but the pressure from many vendors was awful. I'm from Puerto Plata. It had been 4 years since I to Sosúa beach... It may be another 4.

Kite Beach, located in the town of Cabarete in the Dominican Republic, is a renowned kiteboarding mecca offering various options for lessons and waterfront lodging. Positioned between Playa Encuentro and Cabarete, this beach provides multiple entry points for kitesurfers of all levels. It is known internationally as a top destination for water sports and hosts the annual Master of the Ocean championship.
Beautiful beach with some restaurant/bar. We did kite lessons at cabareef with Nelson. Highly recommended
Vincent G — Google review
One of the best if not best beaches we have been to. Walking Cabarete beach is so peaceful and just an honour. People running, excercizing, water sports make it more interesting as well as the many Bars and Resturant which are mainly in the downtown section. The road is close at this point so many of the resturants/bars can be entered from the street and have an inside dinning area that opens out to seating on the beach. Youll find many expat, tourist from Canada, US and abroad. You"ll hear english spoken often with some Fench and a little German at times mixed in with Spanish of course. Frequently the waitresses and bar tenders speak English making it easier for us dummies that cant learn enough Spanish ;) If you want waves theres areas to go at The beach but if you want it more calm you"ll find that too. This makes it very unique and also with the gradgual incline into the water. Walking the many lit up resturants on the beach at night is a must often hearing live music or open mic. Im hoping it dosnt lose its charm bringing in big resorts. If this review helps you please give a like.

Larry R — Google review
Welcoming, relaxed, beautiful, interesting, low light emission: excellent celestial viewing, great prices, decent food, community feel, animal and kid-family friendly. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there’s currently only one place you can use credit card and the ATM is quite far and has low limits on what you can withdrawal. Also, like most beaches in the world, it could be clean. The kiting always entertains and the wind keeps you cool.
Alexandra M — Google review
A strong ocean wind harnessed by the adrenaline junkies of all races, creeds and colours. A bohemian gypsy cornucopia of colour, attitude and warmth. This is not a sport as much as it is a lifestyle statement. Beautiful kites and beautiful people. Just show up and you will see. Walk the beach either way and you are sure to find a newbie a wanna be, a gonna be and the Guru Be... Step into it, you won't regret it.

It's a beautiful beach and the myriad of colors from the kites makes the experience even more pleasant. The kites are really a sight to behold! However, I find that the waves 🌊 are too strong for non-surfers to enjoy, keep that in mind when planning to visit especially if one has small kids.

Fantastic beach that is well kept. The beautiful part is that regular chairs, tables, and umbrellas are no cost if you consume food and beverages (which are both really good). If you would like a lounge chair there is an extra fee but it’s nothing that will break the bank. Beach is large with plenty of space so you do not feel crowded. Gorgeous Beach! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the local vendors and parking lot attendant, very friendly and not over bearing. Lots of parking and short walk to the beach. The beach itself is gorgeous! Crystal clear blue water with nice rolling waves. Sand beaches and entry made it easy for the family. Lots of nice areas to snorkel and see fish, small reefs, and even found some beautiful small shells under water. Great visibility and the waves are calm enough to enjoy. Great options for food, souvenirs, beachside massages and drinks. Great for families and all. Enjoy!

Cabeza de Toro Beach is a hidden gem located on the eastern edge of Punta Cana, often mistakenly grouped with the entire Southeast region. It's renowned for its crystal-clear waters, making it a popular choice for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The beach offers a serene and romantic atmosphere, perfect for leisurely strolls along the shore followed by refreshing drinks or delicious meals.
The town of Cabeza de Toro in the east of the Dominican Republic in the Punta Cana region has a beach of the same name that delights bathers, like all beaches on the coconut palm coast, with fine white sand, turquoise water and high palm trees. The shallow water is particularly suitable for families. Cabeza de Toro means "bulls head". The beach takes its name from the bird's eye view due to its shape. The ambience on this beach is a little quieter than on the other central beaches of Punta Cana. Bars and restaurants are only accessible to hotel guest and are therefore no incentive for outsiders. The hotels around Playa Cabeza de Toro are particularly popular with package holiday makers and travelers who want to spend a wonderful beach holiday. Directly on the beach there are sports facilities such as beach volleyball or beach football and for your convenience there are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas again only for hotel guest only.

Playa Bahia de Las Aguilas is a celebrated, remote beach located in the southwestern corner of the Dominican Republic. Accessible mainly by boat from Playa Las Cuevas, it offers 10km of nearly-deserted shore between two prominent capes. The area is part of Jaragua National Park and boasts calm, crystal-clear waters and white sand. The beach is surrounded by scenic views including rocky outcrops, cliffs with cacti, and sea-diving pelicans.
Tucked away in the southwestern corner of the Dominican Republic, Bahía de las Águilas isn’t just a beach—it’s a dream pulled straight from the pages of a tropical fairytale. From the moment I set foot on its powder-white sand, I was overwhelmed by its sheer beauty and serenity. The beach stretches for miles, untouched and untamed, kissed by the clearest aquamarine water I've ever seen. There are no crowds, no blaring music—just the sound of gentle waves and the occasional call of a seabird soaring overhead. It felt like nature’s secret, shared only with those curious enough to seek it out. What truly sets Bahía de las Águilas apart is its wild, otherworldly sense of solitude. Surrounded by cliffs and the desolate beauty of Jaragua National Park, the area is a sanctuary—for sea turtles, for delicate coral reefs, and for those of us who crave a moment of stillness far from the noise of modern life. Swimming here was like floating in liquid glass, and snorkeling just offshore revealed flashes of vibrant marine life. As the sun began its descent, the entire beach glowed gold and tangerine, the sky a masterpiece of fading colors. That moment—barefoot, sun-kissed, and awe-struck—will live in my heart forever. Bahía de las Águilas is not just a destination. It’s a reminder that paradise still exists—wild, quiet, and breathtakingly pure.
Yordan Q — Google review
I can't give 5 star for these reasons. The trip to get here either 4x4 or by Yola's (boat) make it a fun to get to the location. The beach is gorgeous, the water even better. BUT, the yola captains are idiots, even the Armada. They go full speed far closer to the beach than I swim in only 2m water, all along the shore making swimming dangerous above waist deep water. No regard for the safty of the people they taxi here. Im dumbfounded by that ignorance. I could not snorkle at all as thay were always between me and shore and too busy looking at bikinis than watching for swimmers.

After years of dreaming about visiting Bahia de las Aguilas, I finally made the trip—and it was absolutely everything I hoped for and more. I've been to many beaches around the world, but Bahia de las Aguilas stands out as the most beautiful by far. This stunning beach in the Dominican Republic is truly a slice of paradise. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the breathtaking scenery. The beach stretches for miles with pristine white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters that seem almost surreal. The natural beauty of Bahia de las Aguilas is untouched by commercial development, which preserves its tranquility and purity. It's one of those rare places where you can truly feel at one with nature. The peace I experienced there was unlike anything I've ever felt. It was as if time slowed down, allowing me to fully soak in the sun, the sea, and the sheer beauty of the surroundings. It's no wonder I count it as one of the happiest days of my life—being there felt like a dream come true. What makes Bahia de las Aguilas even more special is its relative seclusion, which keeps it free from the typical crowds found at other tourist-heavy beaches. You have plenty of space to explore, relax, and even find your own little spot to unwind without any interruptions. If you're planning a trip to the Dominican Republic and looking for a truly spectacular beach experience, Bahia de las Aguilas is not to be missed. It's perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful escape and a chance to experience one of the most beautiful natural settings on the planet. Prepare to be captivated by its beauty and leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

Playa Punta Popy, located in Las Terrenas, is a picturesque beach with clear shallow waters and coconut palms. The beach offers a relaxing atmosphere with nearby cafes and restaurants, making it an ideal place to spend the day or enjoy stunning sunsets. Visitors can also rent beach chairs or simply lie on their towels under the shade of palm trees.
It’s a really nice beach. I’ve been twice and always a good experience. There’s parking, food and drinks available upon request, and just a peaceful atmosphere overall. I was initially a few feet down the road and in that spot the waves were a bit rough, so I decided to walk a few minutes down to Playa Punta Popy and the water was a lot calmer. I could get in with no issues.

Playa Punta Popy is a vibrant and lively beach located at the eastern end of Las Terrenas, known for its colorful mix of kite surfers, beach bars, and palm-lined scenery. The water is shallow and clear, great for swimming and water sports, while the constant breeze makes it one of the top kiteboarding spots in the area. Along the beachfront, you’ll find several small restaurants and lounges offering everything from Dominican seafood to cocktails and smoothies. The vibe here is youthful and energetic during the day, but it calms down beautifully at sunset. Whether you're looking for a relaxed beach day, a casual drink by the water, or an afternoon of adventure, Punta Popy blends tropical beauty with the social buzz of Las Terrenas life.

No big waves here—just a relaxed, scenic beach that’s perfect for unwinding or enjoying the ocean in whatever way you like.

Nice beach if you’re walking distance there. I went for convenience but there are other beaches if you can drive. There wasn’t vendors for food & drinks sold here unless you wanted a large plate. Lots of locals go on weekends for a day trip. Beach was a bit crowded on Sundays.

Nice, but there was a sandstorm that made it a bit uncomfortable for us. During August I came and it was BEAUTIFUL! The water was warm, blue and so much fun! It really depends on the season.
Kenia L — Google review
A great place to hang out! You can rent beach chairs (250-300 pesos each), or just lie on your towel. Punta Popy is full of palm trees, so you can always find shade. Because it’s a point, you can swim on the east or west side, depending on the waves. The sand is nice, and you can walk right into the water on pure sand (no stones). There is often a massage person there (Lourdes), who does a great massage for $40us/hour. On windy days, you can watch the many kite-surfers who come out to learn or jump the waves… great entertainment. There are restaurants nearby to get lunch or a drink and if you leave your towel on the chair, it will be held for you. It’s a great place to go, as there is always somewhere good to hang out, no matter the weather (not rain 😂).

This might be one of the best beaches in the area, because is never crowded, water super clear, the right temperature, and there is never waves. Recommend. Bring some food and enjoy the day and possibly sunset! These photos were probably about 1/4 of a mile from the point. So there's no need to stay in the point. Scout an empty area and you will be all set!

Nice little beach. There is an area at the far end where you can lay a towel and save a few pesos by not renting a chair and umbrella. There are hardly any vendors bothering you, but the waves can get a little rough. We saw several people in distress, and a few had to be rescued by the lifeguards. If the flag is red, stay out of the water! Or it could be you next time. I saw some banos for 50 pesos/person. The only food or drink is at the top of the stairs in a couple of restaurants.

We had a great time af Playa Alicia! We tried to visit on 8/19 but it was closed due to rough serf from the remnants of Hurricane Erin. Went back on 8/21 and while the surf wasn’t as calm as Playa Sosua, the atmosphere was much nicer. Waterfront restaurant is on Playa Alicia and if you rent chairs & umbrellas from them (white umbrella section) you can get food/drink service on the beach. We rented from the blue umbrella section because we planned to eat dinner at Waterfront (see my review for Waterfront). Beach has a steep dropoff so be careful walking! Also has a really cool cliff formation at the east end.

Gorgeous beach, its very long and often empty, we had it to ourselves! The water is beautiful and calm and the cold current of Coson river meets it at some point, so its very nice!!! Also the white sand feels like a carpet, very thin and soft! You can take very pretty photos here specially with the palm trees!

Quiet beach with a great restaurant with Fresh fish and lobster. Nice sandbar surf break and doesn’t draw a lot of people b/c of close by Playa Bonita. Hidden Gem! One of our families favorites. Great little surf shack where you can rent boards. 🤙🏻

Super super nice beach. Without the seaweed this is in my top three beaches worldwide. It is very quiet but not dangerously quiet. There's two or three restaurants to choose from (my favourite being the reasonably priced one at the far east of the beach), and multiple roads to reach the beach. The best road is the one leading to Caffè Coson and you can use a moped easily. It's a beautiful beach with a nice curve, mix of wave strengths (be careful, there's extremely strong currents in some places), palm trees, and a river that changes shape every day. When I went (Dec 2022) there was a bit of seaweed (like everywhere in DR) but seemingly not as much as Playa Bonita. I recommend you set up camp near the river somewhere - you can get there on two wheels if you're a confident rider!

Nestled in an impressive valley surrounded by lush mountains, Playa El Valle is an isolated white-sand beach offering a secluded escape. Accessible by road and with a couple of nearby hotels, it maintains its off-the-beaten-track allure. The beach boasts light sands and lush jungle surroundings, making it visually stunning. Despite being visited enough to have a few small restaurants serving visitors, it remains generally uncrowded and feels perfectly hidden.
A more than beautiful beach! I had the privilege to camp here with a group of friends and had the most amazing night view, sky was full of stars and the river next to the beach even tho' it was cold was perfect to stay all night. It's a tricky beach due to the high waves, so you must be careful!

Off the beaten path. Less vendors. Gorgeous beach, clean, and uncrowded. Besides my family, there were only a handful of other tourists. ***We rented a sedan and drove for about 4.5 hours from Punta Cana. Since this place goes through a rainforest. There are many areas with zero wifi and potholes, so deep that you'll need a 4×4 or drive at speeds of 2 to 5 mph to avoid damage. If the car breaks down as it did ours, you might not find help for a while. Also, since the surrounding area in El Valle is remote, there are fewer tourists. Watch out for Airbnbs catfishing customers. I won't say exactly how much we paid for a 5-star rated beauty of a house, but it was over USD$260 for 1-night. The gorgeously photographed home, aided by a truly breathtaking backdrop of rainforest, felt as a mausoleum. Almost no amenities, electricity that relied on a flickering generator, and poor or no wifi connection. The experience taught me to choose places with lots of current reviews, not just a few reviews from years ago. The area is gorgeous and well worth the trip if you're staying in RD for several days. We stayed in Punta Cana for 10 days.

Half hour afther Samana to the north-east is playa El Valle. It has 1.2 km of beach and can be reached over a sandy road from around 10km. Better take a 4×4. Very nice secluded beach enclosed by mountains. Fresh fish and fresh lobster can be bought here directly at the beach at the small Dominican restaurants. The road from an to El Valle is very spectacular. Defined by its name, el Valle (the Valley) is located between 2 mountains. The waves can be very big, depending on the season, and fantastic for surfing.
Emma J — Google review
The journey 42-kilometer (26 miles) north of Santa Bárbara de Samaná leads to this 4 kilometers (1.2 miles) long golden stretch surrounded by a lush valley, flanked by towering bluffs, and dotted with fishermen canoes. Rustic and overwhelming in its green to turquoise scenery, the undeveloped Playa El Valle is a great spot to get away from the crowds. Take a stroll along its length, where you’ll spot fishermen bringing in the catch or heading out to sea. Enjoy a seafood lunch on the beach, and take long hikes amid this rugged landscape. When swimming, do stick close to shore as there are rip currents, particularly in the winter season. Even if you don’t swim, it’s a spectacular spot to take in the beauty of the Samaná Peninsula.

Playa Costa Esmeralda is a serene beach located between La Bahia de Samana and Punta Cana, about 102 km northeast of Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana. The 5 km stretch of exclusive beach boasts shimmering blueish/greenish waters that resemble a shining emerald in the bright sun. It's recommended to visit in a sturdy vehicle like a Jeep or 4x4 due to rough terrain.
Great Beach, very quiet when we visited du to the lack of resorts close by. You don't need a 4x4 to visit this one, just search for 'parking playa esmeralda' there's a new brick paved road and a parking lot with some showers and toilets but no shops. From there it's a five minute walk. We asked the attendant at the parking lit if we could take our jeep onto the beach he said yea just follow the road back from where we cam and take the first right and again another right and eventually we found ourselves driving on a dirt road just behind the palm trees that line the Beach. Water was perfect and calm and nobody to bother you. There is construction going on behind the Beach bit as we visited on a long weekend it was quiet.

A magnificent white sand beach with lots of life, beautiful saltwater angelfish EVERYWHERE. I definitely recommend going (Although the there path is a little.. 😬). You definitely can’t go in a low vehicle or regular car. I would recommend going in a Jeep, Tundra, a 4x4, or any vehicle that can stand rough territory. It’s also not crowded at all anytime I’ve gone, the vibes are super chill. However, a day after, I noticed bites all over my body from sea lice, I think this was due to the area with brown sand, so defiantly steer clear of that area. Other than that, it is probably my favorite beach.

Beautiful beach. Peaceful. We went on a Sunday and it was practically empty. People from Santo Domingo can take a helicopter ride to this beach for $300 US dollars. There are no stores near by. There are people walking around selling coconuts. Yum. Very friendly people too. Be prepared to go off road.

Playa Cabarete, also known as Cabarete Beach, is a picturesque stretch of coastline in the Caribbean that offers a variety of activities for visitors. The beach is ideal for swimmers of all abilities due to its frequently calm waters and shallow shore, making it suitable for families with children. In addition to water activities, Playa Cabarete is renowned as the Caribbean's hub for windsurfing, kiteboarding, and sailing.
Super nice large stretch of beach. Lots of area to swim, kite, or any water activity. The sand is wonderfully soft and the width of the beach is great. Hardly even a rock in sight! The beach is overall only partially developed so there’s a lot of space to set up and spread out. Not so crowded in some areas which is really nice. When it’s windy though, it can be pretty busy with kiters, windsurfers, wing foilers, and more!

Playa Cabarete is definitely on of the best beaches in Dominican Republic, I strongly recommend it, if you want to relax the beach is really spacious, here there is not need to be close to other people, it’s great for wind surfing, if you want to enjoy of a long walk this is the place, you can walk for an hour without getting to the end. There are restaurants and bar. Just a suggestion if you want to rent chairs and umbrella check with different vendors first, some are lot more expensive than others.

I think this is a nice place but Dominican Republic has a lot more beautiful places to offer to their visitors or even residents. I like it but I have been in the country 3 times and this is not a 5. This beach is very large and we were able to find a beautiful spot with less people on the furthest east side. I highly recommend going to the beach near the Deep Green Foundation. When we first arrived we walked West along the beach which was a mistake since it seems like this area is mostly for locals. We walked the other direction and saw a lot of people like mentioned in the reviews. But we kept on walking another 20 - 25 minutes and arrived at a spot with less people and not as many restaurants which made this area awesome. We sat directly on the sand and later decided to get drinks to sit on the long chairs. We didn't eat anything but the drinks weren't the cheapest which is expected for Boca Chica. We were next to an aquatic municipal park that is maintained by the Deep Green Foundation. The water looked so clean and I learned a little bit about the mangroves. They offer tours where you can snorkle near the park and harvest corals (I wasnt part of the tour so i wasnt sure what they were doing) I truly believe that the plants growing there made a difference for the water quality and there were some small fish swimming nearby. Maybe we were lucky that but it was a beautiful day and there were not that many people at the spot we were located.
Moana M — Google review
Nice beach. The sand is pure, the water is clear. It is good for people who can't swim or for families with children because it is not deep. Even in the low season it's possible to swim there in the afternoon because the water becomes warm and there are no waves.

Nice beach we visit as part of a tour. We travelled by boot, but you could go by car. There is a hotel, but we did not stay there. Most tours offer a lunch buffet, which was simple but good. You can order some drinks at the bar and enjoy the beach. They also have options for diving yourself or by boot. The boot drove to a place where it was kind of hard to swim. But diving yourself at the beach was nice. They have a public toilet, but it's not that clean. There are also a lot of small shops and sales men walking around, which is not anoying but they will approach you ;)

Playa Las Ballenas is a serene and unspoiled beach, perfect for those in search of tranquility. Meanwhile, Playa Coson Beach is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets and strong waves that attract surfers. On the other hand, Playa Popy Beach is popular among families and water sports enthusiasts due to its calm waters and numerous beach bars.
Clean sand, azure water and stunning views - that's what catches your eye first. Here everyone will find something to their liking: you can relax on a sun lounger with a cocktail in hand, play volleyball, go water skiing or just enjoy swimming in the warm sea. 🌊 The beach is long, and it has both lively areas with bars, restaurants and beach clubs, and more secluded places for those seeking peace and quiet. 🌴 By the way, pay attention: in some places there may be seaweed, but this is a seasonal phenomenon. I advise you to walk along the entire beach to the lagoon - you will discover many beautiful views, and at the same time admire the old and modern villas. 🏘️ Playa Las Ballenas is popular with both locals and tourists, and this is not surprising! Love this beach! It is a more quiet beach (except on weekends, when parties tend to happen). In my opinion, to becomes prettier the further west you go, and ends in a quiet cove. It has a number of beach restaurants where you can grab a quick bite for lunch, and one of my favourite places for pizza is down near the west end (Chiringuito). It is a quieter area to rent on, and is usually our choice on Airbnb.

Cortecito Beach, located in Punta Cana, is a bustling and lively coastal spot known for its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters. It's a popular destination for tourists looking to enjoy water sports, sunbathing, and swimming. The beach is surrounded by resorts, restaurants, shops, and bars offering a variety of seafood and international cuisine. Unlike other beaches in the area dominated by large resorts, Cortecito Beach maintains its small-town charm with an old fishing village nearby.
A perfect beach for a delicate sunrise photoshoot: serene mornings with few people, a gentle breeze, and the soft glow of the sun rising over the ocean.

Playa del Cortecito is the brother of Playa Corales. Both are part of Playa Bavaro. if you walk from Corales, its hardly 10 min walk to Cortecito beach. While Playa Los Corales takes advantage of the wide palm-lined stretch of Playa Bavaro, Playa del Cortecito has a different approach as it is quite narrow. waves can reach to shop’s steps but photos are insta worthy. It is known as the beach with local bars, and it does offer many bars and clubs among its white palm trees with craft cocktails and music. However, this enables a couple of super cool beach bars right at the ocean. Onno’s (bar and music) and Captain Cook (seafood restaurant) are famous among locals so it is the perfect hangout spot if you’d like to connect a bit with the Dominicans (usually resort-workers) around here. This is also a hangout spot that enables you to connect with local culture. This beach is known as the spot to start a long beach walk. Entrance: Google search for Onno's Punta Cana / Bavaro and you will see the entrance when you reach there. Parking: some guy will stop you at the entrance, and he will guide you. Parking Fee: As per guard wish ;) try 50 or 100 D.Pesos

Beach of the Grand Palladium hotel complex. Beautiful white sand beach with a good balance of palm trees and small huts to find shade. Great place. The only downside is the countless itinerant vendors who come and go. A no is not enough, you have to spend the week saying no to them, it's really a nuisance. It's perfect for couples, friends, or families with attractions like an adventure park and climbing wall.
A truly good beach with clean sand and turquoise water starts exactly from this spot. In the first half of the day, the only downside is the lack of shade because the sun rises from the ocean side, and all the shadows fall on the private areas of the hotels. But closer to sunset, long shadows fall toward the ocean, and it’s easy to find some shade without any problem.

Playa Bavaro is a stunning beach that, despite the challenges of sargassum in August 2025, still holds beauty. Isla Catalina is a small island known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs. It's a popular day-trip destination with opportunities for snorkeling and diving. The island remains free from development, offering a pristine natural environment to explore. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque palm trees and an inviting island vibe while discovering the undersea world through various water sports tours.
Beautiful island and crystal water. Lots of rocks leading into the water from the shoreline, be careful! Great to snorkel and see coral 🪸

Fantastic place, very scenic beach, turquoise water great for swimming. Scuba diving and snorkelling there was excellent due to healthy coral, abundance of marine life, and perfect visibility. We came there with a Scuba Caribe tour from Hilton La Romana and the tour was perfectly organized. Highly recommend when staying in Bayahibe arein the

What an amazing day! Some of the best snorkeling. We took a day trip that we booked with Dive Klub at our resort. The pickup was a little discombobulated, which made us nervous, but it worked out great. We had a traditional Dominican lunch that was delicious and we snorkeled for most of the day. We saw an octopus and so so many unique fish. We were well taken care of and returned to our resort safely. Take your own towel. They have everything else including all the drinks and food. Shout out to Naldo…thanks for so much fun and care.

One of my favorite places here, so, so, so beautiful island, and so clear water, color is perfect! 😍 everything is nice and beautiful, quiet place. I like because there are not too many people, it is more like a private island. there are a couple of bars also.
Andjela — Google review
Beautiful island and probably the best place for snorkeling in the Dominican Republic. We took an excursion from Punta Cana and it was definitely worth it. It was a bumpy ride back because of the high waves but we had fun drinking and dancing. Blue crystal water with white beaches, palm trees, souvenir shops, and some restaurants. We saw some fishes and beautiful corals while snorkeling. Overall a great experience.
Ashok K — Google review
Island is beautiful. Fantastic place. Would get 5 stars but the best snorkeling was in a place where lots of boats come to drop people of. We'll worth a visit.
Ray B — Google review
Some of the most pretty water in the world. Luckily each excursion has their own private areas. The beach chairs, food, and drinks come with the tour. (For us, for most i assume). Good place for snorkeling and swimming). No real privacy here, but the water is well worth it.
Reuvèn — Google review
Water - BEAUTIFUL turquoise colour and so clean you could see the ground so clearly 😍 we saw dolphins on the way back too ❤️ but the beach 👎 I think the company (TORTUGA) paid for the cheapest spot on the Catalina island and they took us there . It’s NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES THEY SHOW YOU or you can see on Google. That must be other part of the island. Not enough sun beds and the ALL INCLUSIVE was actually few drinks (rum and coke or rum and sprite ) that you can mix on the beach yourself. And ….. half of white sandwich with a tiny slice of cheese. Just awful. Also no catamaran only speedboat. Except of the dolphins 🐬, it wasn’t worth the money. Go with different company and go to SAONA I highly recommend 😍

The Puerto Plata Cable Car, also known as Teleferico, is the only one of its kind in the Caribbean. It offers a scenic 15-minute ride to the top of Mount Isabel de Torres, where visitors can explore botanical gardens and visit the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. From this vantage point, at 2,600 feet above sea level, guests can take in breathtaking panoramic views of Puerto Plata city and its coastline stretching over 100 kilometers along the Atlantic Ocean.
Definitely worth a visit. We visited it during a Cruise stop. Do to heavy traffic on route and long line for the Cable Cars, could not plan a lot of visits during our stop but glad we made this one. Beautiful views from the top.
T S — Google review
THIS CABLE CAR SERVICE IS CLOSED. Don’t know why it still says it is opened on Google Maps. The people there told that it will not be operational for the next 2.5 years. There is bus service that takes you to the mountains which cost us around 20 USD for one person. The ride is good but you won’t get much time to spend on the mountain near the statue. The price of the souvenir was little high in the stores near the statue.
Neby V — Google review
The place is beautiful, but beware of the famous Tour guides, they tell they work for the park and blah blah, they have uniforms and everything but theyxare not employees they are locals looking to make and extra buck. The machine is been down for a long time. Honestly google the mountain for directions no need of a tour guide. They see you as a tourist and they jacked up the prices. Do not buy in the souvenirs stores they are not worth it.
Neil G — Google review
Still closed. I went to a tourist spot and asked the teller. She advised it’s been closed a year because people don’t want to pay to use the cable car. She said probably for two more years. Her English was good and my Spanish is dreadful but I relayed on what I was told. I drove up to the gate at about 3pm on a Wednesday and took the below photo.
Ebony E — Google review
Nice affordable activity to do with your family. Once at the top, there is a spectacular view and you can walk along the paths through the gardens and to the caves and lagoon. I gave 4 stars because the directions to these sites are really not very specific. It took us a while and many wrong turns before we got to the caves 🙃🙃🙃
Murielle V — Google review
Views are amazing if you are driving a rental or coming you dont need any person in a green polo taking you up. You are good with just taking yourself up. At the top there is a hike on the top that takes you around the area to show you the water falls, typical Dominican house of the past, and natural areas as well. Also the shops at the top way over charge like 20+ dollars for things that are worth 3 dollars else where. Always bargain.
Mateo R — Google review
Amazing ride to top! Beautiful tropical area with lots of paths, a traditional kitchen, pond, and observation areas. We spent 2.5 hours exploring the area. A lot cheaper to buy tickets on-site versus with a tour.

Historical landmark
Fortaleza de San Felipe is a historic Spanish fortress built in the late 1500s to defend against pirates and invaders. Located on a hill at the Puntilla Del Malecon, it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and protected the entrance to Puerto Plata's seaport. The fort offers fully narrated tours around its grounds, showcasing history displays and old cannons pointing out to sea.
This fort is in San Felipe Park which is a short walk from the cruise ship port. The sidewalk is skinny in places so not accessible for wheelchairs. Once at the park it’s easy walking to get to the fort itself. Who wouldn’t like seeing a Spanish fort dating to the late 1500s which was built to defend against pirates. The fort was completed in 1577. There is a $2 per person fee and you get a headset so you can listen to the story of the fort. My headset didn’t work well. I think it was a bad cable or the audio port. It was fine as the fort is interesting with lots of things to look at and read. Like most of the Dominican, the fort could use money to fix things up. It’s a great place to get photos of the water, beaches and cruise ship port. There are public bathrooms in the fort.
Bill L — Google review
Not only is the first interesting and historically significant, you should go there just for the history alone, but there's a beautiful view and a great breeze off the water to keep things cool and comfortable. It was about 100 pesos and worth the price to get to see the views from the turrets. There is parking and there are public bathrooms too, and souvenir stalls too if you like that kind of thing.
Michelle M — Google review
Well maintain, nice to walk and not feel like a tour is going to ask for a fee or approach you. Beautiful place from puerto plata and full of a lot of potential.
Neil G — Google review
The San Felipe Fort was a stop on our private tour of Puerto Plata. If you’ve been to San Juan and seen the large fort there, this is much smaller, but very similar in age and stone composition. Over 450 years old, it is on a cliff next to ocean so there are plenty of great views. You can also buy tickets to go through it for a half hour tour.
Stephanie C — Google review
A small fort with a deep history. A nice stop in a tour. The views are great from this spot. You can see the cruise ships from here too.

This place is really neat. It only cost $1.00 USD to get in and walk around. Nice views of the harbour and sea. Just a nice piece of history to enjoy for about 45 minutes or so. Lots of local peddlers around trying to sell their wares. I love chatting them up and buying a few trinkets.

Javo Beach La Playita is a family-friendly sandy beach known for its shallow shoreline and calm waves, making it perfect for families. It's less crowded than other nearby beaches and offers a tranquil setting with crystal clear waters. Visitors can enjoy grilled seafood at the beach shacks and arrange boat rides to explore other beautiful beaches in the area. For those seeking adventure, horseback riding along the shoreline is also an option.
I had a great time at Javo Beach La Playita, the locals called it La Playita. There is a nice restaurant with food and drinks. There is another area where they sell local food or comida criolla and drinks as well. The food in both areas tastes good. They both have outdoor seating on the beach and under the shades of trees so you can enjoy your food and drinks in a beautiful, clean, relaxing environment overlooking the crystal clear ocean water among many other people. This is a place to be enjoyed by everyone, individuals, and families including children. You won't want to leave this place.

Extremely beautiful turquoise water and fine, powdery sand but only on about 300 meters which obviously, was taken by the hotel. Everywhere else it's packed with seaweed and there is grass in the water so impossible to swim!

Beautiful, relaxed beach with good parking and services if you want them. We tried snorkeling but didn't see a lot. Still a great view and a great place to swim.
Renee S — Google review
Very nice and quiet beach. A couple of restaurants right on the beach. Also, there is a beach bar if you want to sip on a piña colada while enjoying the view. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to relax.
Shahar C — Google review
This beach is about a mile away from town, so it's nice and quiet. It has beautiful clear water with an epic view of the mountains!! I loved it here. The sunset was also very beautiful! The water seemed just a little bit cooler than it was on the opposite side of the Samana peninsula, but for those who don't like the very warm Caribbean water in the summer time, you'll probably like this!

One of the most beautiful beach in Las Galeras. Lots of people, somehow crowded, but It did not compromise. With restaurant, tents with massage, beach chairs to rent. Lots of amenities to enjoy. The food at Isabel Restaurant was amazing. Fresh fish with lots of side dishes. Ask the locals to indicate the place.

Playa El Morón is the starting point for the pristine and secluded beaches of Samana. It offers resort-style beach services, making it a great choice for those seeking convenience. However, if you prefer untouched natural beauty, there are other breathtaking beaches nearby. The area is a hidden gem away from typical tourist spots, providing an ideal Caribbean experience with its pristine sands and clear blue waters. Visitors can enjoy peaceful solitude or adventure in this tranquil haven.
Completely virgin beach. Locals cut some coconuts down for us. You have to learn to overlook the plastic washed on the beach. It hurts to see it I really wish the local government would do something about it. But otherwise, a beautiful place.
Michel M — Google review
Playa Morón is one of the most peaceful and underrated beaches in the Samaná Peninsula—a true hidden gem. Surrounded by lush greenery and gently swaying palms, the beach offers golden sand, calm turquoise waters, and a serene, untouched atmosphere that's perfect for those looking to escape the tourist crowds. There are no large hotels or developments here, just a few small local food shacks and fishermen’s boats, which adds to the authentic Dominican charm. It's an ideal spot for swimming, relaxing under a tree, or walking along the wide, quiet shoreline. The access road is a bit rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended, but the effort is absolutely worth it. If you're visiting Las Terrenas or El Limón, don’t miss Playa Morón—it’s the kind of beach you dream of when you picture the Caribbean at its most natural and unspoiled.

Great beach. The water was clear and got deep quickly. I was told the waves can pull you out so be careful with that. I didn’t experience it when I swam there so just be mindful if you go out and can get carried away while swimming. I had my swimming goggles and saw many fishes. I was surrounded by more than 100 little curious silver fishes. The water is cold and refreshing. There were barely any waves when I visited. There is a hotel there on the cliff overlooking the ocean, there was no one there when I was in the water.

Casa de Campo Resort and Villas is a luxurious retreat located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. Spanning 7,000 acres, this exclusive oasis offers an array of amenities including three championship golf courses designed by renowned architect Pete Dye, an equestrian center, polo fields, a marina and yacht club, tennis courts, and a shooting center. The resort also features high-end shops and entertainment venues hosting regular concerts by A-list performers.
Absolutely beautiful. Outrageously priced but beautiful and a great time. Private. The showers were cold the whole time and the drain was backed up, so note that. The staff were delightful, the house keepers and the chef especially. A large group of us went for a bachelorette party and had a blast, we only left the house 2x in 5 days. The grounds were clean and secluded. It was overall a lovely visit.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! This resort delivers a true all-inclusive vacation experience. Their customer service is top notch—every staff member goes above and beyond to make you feel cared for. The rooms are beautiful, and the housekeeping and turn-down staff are phenomenal. Every detail is taken care of, which makes the whole experience relaxing and memorable. My husband and I have traveled here every summer for the past 4 years, and what sets Casa de Campo apart from all other experiences is their customer service. Each year, the staff at the pool bar and breakfast buffet remember us! I imagine they meet hundreds of people every weekend, so being remembered by them is incredibly special and meaningful. For many years now, Carlos, Jonathan, Roberto, and Johan have been serving us at the pool bar (near the main reception desk), and their kindness and attentiveness have made us feel like family. Carlos even remembered my favorite drink from my previous visit. Also, the staff at the breakfast buffet is top notch. Benjamin, Leonardo, and Roberto bent over backwards to make sure we felt at home and our coffee, water, and fresh smoothies were topped off at all times. And Benjamin remembered me from my previous visit, as well. We will continue coming back to a resort that makes us feel like family while delivering top notch, luxury service. We highly recommend the resort and the golf courses.

Casa de Campo Resort was absolutely exceptional. From the resort itself, to the food and the amazing friendly, helpful staff, it was amazing. My husband and I have recently returned from a week's all inclusive holiday and it was my husband's birthday while we were there. The staff made us feel so special especially on his birthday. The resort was absolutely stunning and there were so many different amazing restaurants to choose from as part of the all inclusive deal, and the food in every single one was absolutely delicious. Our room was beautiful and kept immaculate by the hotel staff. We have been to all inclusive resorts before, but this is in a different league! Would highly recommend to anyone.

I recently visited Casa de Campo for a wedding, and I must say, the experience was truly impressive. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, professional, and attentive. The resort itself is beautiful, with top-notch amenities that reflect its high-end price point. Although our stay was brief, we took full advantage of the all-inclusive package and were able to enjoy several of the on-site restaurants—each one offering great food and excellent service. Everything felt well-curated and thoughtfully managed. If you’re looking for a luxurious escape in the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo is definitely worth considering. It’s a perfect mix of elegance, comfort, and Caribbean charm.

While Casa de Campo remains at the top of luxurious destinations in The Caribbean and DR…they have to consider investing more in the Check-In process for visitors and Airbnb users and their current system to check in outside the hotel truly sucks!! We’ve had a second BAD EXPERIENCE this past weekend while we stayed at a luxurious accommodation there. The Check -in office located near the highway helpd us with the initial process and gave us an ID Card that was supposed to serve as an pass to go inside and outside the property. The guards at the gate located near the highway asked us for our passports to access the property…while the main offi e told us to keep our passports in a safe place the guards denied our access twice and they treated us partially inappropriate foenthe type of service expected there. Especially a gentleman with the name YUSNIER… who acted like a supervisor of the Guards and was wearing a white shirt with no uniform. He was treating us like total criminals and due to lack of time in personally didn’t escalated this concern while there but this is definitely something that is not supposed to be happening in a place like casa de campo. I’m not sure exactly what is the problem there but the office told me one thing and the guards something different… very confusing and very disturbing as well . I’m not sure if the guards are employed by casa de campo or simply contracted … but they definitely acted as if they “Owned “ the right to access regardless if you are staying in the property or not . I hope someone can read this post and answers me the questions below: 1- Is the ID card provided at the time to register with the check in office sufficient to access the property? 2- Is the Guard employed by casa de campo ? I would like to find out who was right and who was wrong either the check in office or the supervisor YUSNIER . I’m not accusing anyone in particular but since we have a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at this #1 resort we want to voice our concern to make sure that casa de campo take the appropriate measures and correct their wrongs and train their personal properly so this situations are avoided … primarily to people and their families that go there to have ZERO stress and spend time relaxing from the busy life of the first world . Lastly I want to say that we have been visiting the property since 2010 and always stayed at the hotel and never had this issue before … this is why I’m not so sure if Mr. YUSNIER was responsible for this and he didn’t apply to rule as the general public or if something has changed ..nevertheless I truly believe that casa de campo should expedite the check in process and for the visitors perhaps should create a digital QR code with access or something digital tag we could carry on our phones instead of the passport… the passport is a delicate document that can get lost , damaged or wet and is not something you can recuperate in a day … casa the campo should have the means to create something better in my opinion more this days when everything is digital . Hope this comment is constructive! Thank you ! Waiting in your response,

This adult-only disco is known for its thrilling atmosphere and diverse admission options. It's considered the best nightclub in Punta Cana due to its language-friendly environment, top-notch security, and reasonable prices.
What an amazing experience! The show was FANTASTIC! This show had it all! From Beetlejuice, Furiosa, The Mask, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson + more. Great sets and costumes. Terrific sound system. My only suggestion is get there early if you have the standard ticket. If you can afford the upgrade to VIP DO IT! Definitely worth it

Overrated and Unsafe – Think Twice Before Going! This place is seriously overrated. It was dangerously overcrowded — people were crammed in like sardines, especially around the entrance where the only bar is located. In case of an emergency, there’s no clear way out. It felt like a major safety hazard. They advertise it as an “open bar,” but there’s only one bar and it’s practically inaccessible. I couldn’t get a single drink without pushing through a sea of people. The show itself is decent — the dancers and production are good — but nothing has changed since I last went to Coco Bongo in Cancun three years ago. Even the music was the same, which made the whole experience feel stale and repetitive. Save your money and go somewhere you can actually move, dance, and enjoy yourself safely.
David H — Google review
The procedure to get a ticket is really unnecessary, takes a lot of time and is not convenient or efficient. All presentations are amazing for the mezzanine you can really enjoy the whole performance perfectly, the actors, dancers and all performers put a lot of effort for that incredible act. On the other hand, the place is so full that makes it impossible to get out, the people are soooooo push into the bar that you can barely breath no safe the quantity of people they put in this place. Honestly there should some kind of limitation or regulation. The cocktails were fine, and the food was regular.

Must see. Great show. Not really disco. But lots of fun and amazing entertainment. VIP package not needed. Not so special. Only if you want to sit down.
Kevin M — Google review
Where do I begin... it was a catastrophe from the very start! 1. Zero clarity on where to line-up to check in and then zero clarity on where to line-up to enter the venue. 2. Venue reps constantly harass you to purchase "skip the line" tickets at $15. 3. MASSIVELY overcrowded to the point it's a mass casualty incident waiting to happen. 4. Impossible to see the show if you're on the ground floor and near the centre stage. Absolutely no view of the upper stage whatsoever. 5. The acts lasted only a few minutes each. 6. The drinks are watered down. The rum had barely any taste and the vodka with mixer tasted like juice. 7. The PUSHING! I was moving from the toilet past the stairs towards the bar so I could get back to my friends. A security guard pushed me away from the stairs so I shouted at him "I'm going that way" and pointed at my friends. A second security guard then pushed me away from the stairs again as I was trying to make my way through the crowd so I turned and pushed him back (almost got myself kicked out). He shouted something at me in Spanish so I got closer to him and shouted "do NOT PUSH me" in his face then turned and moved away. If you really want to go, then maybe spending more money on an upgraded package/ticket is worth it.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort is a laid-back all-inclusive beachfront retreat with 4 restaurants, 3 outdoor pools, and a fitness center. It's one of the top Puerto Plata resorts, offering a memorable experience for every traveler, whether it's an all-inclusive stay, beachside relaxation, fine dining, or even a wedding in Puerto Plata.
I have loved the experience in this resort! I would absolutely recommend this place. It’s beautiful, quiet, clean. All staff members are absolutely 👍🏽 friendly and welcoming. The rooms are cleaned and spacious.
Jeidy F — Google review
We had a great time! Food was delicious, lots of great options for both vegetarians and gluten free. The beach was beautiful and the pool was nice. I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone looking for a “nightlife” experience, as everything wrapped up by 11pm latest. A small resort but lots to offer. Rooms were kept very clean, but the washrooms could use some updating. Our shower drain was clogged. Would stay here again!!
Julianna D — Google review
I recently stayed at Hotel Gran Ventana, and while the setting is lovely and many of the staff genuinely try their best, unfortunately, that’s about all the positives I can share. The food was merely adequate at first, but after a short while, it became a different story. The fruit was often found with flies, and most dishes were served cold, which was quite disappointing for an all-inclusive hotel. I also encountered some troubling behavior from the front desk staff, who were often condescending toward Dominican natives. It’s disheartening to learn that the hotel has a policy of charging Dominican nationals an extra $50 USD per day!, allegedly because they eat more. This seems particularly ironic given the all-inclusive nature of the hotel. The parking situation is chaotic at best. There’s limited space for only about 20-25 vehicles, with a few spots reserved—one of which is supposedly for the owner. This feels particularly frustrating, especially for a hotel that is part of a larger conglomerate. Moreover, the security personnel adopted an authoritarian attitude, often trying to assert their authority as if they were police officers. They call themselves "the law," which is both alarming and unnecessary. While I understand the need for safety, the hotel enforces a policy of no swimming in the beach after 7 PM. However, this cannot be lawfully enforced since the beach is public property. Unfortunately, the security staff often resorts to threats against guests who merely wish to sit by the beach, resorting to name-calling and disrespect. Overall, it’s clear that the staff prioritizes foreign guests, often treating Dominican nationals and those from abroad as second-class citizens. I cannot recommend Hotel Gran Ventana based on my experience, and I hope they address these serious issues in the future.

And it’s hot 🥵 Food was just OK Beach and pool close at 7pm ? Junior Suite the pictures are very deceptive. It’s a very small. This place is definitely not worth the price we paid just like the reviews said. Towel cards? Really your in a resort? Just hand everyone a towel. Also the type of room 2 queen beds or one king etc. is subject to availability! So watch out for that. Tried to take food from the beach restaurant to the pool and I was told no! So I gave them back the plate and left! Wow It’s the same resort! At the beach there is an army of people selling bracelets and doing hair braids. Every time they made our room, they left us only two towels for four people after telling them several times that we have four people. Not a 4 star resort at all it’s old and needs renovation. Pros The beach is amazing the pool is large the staff tries to make it fun with games and dancing. The best time we had was the fire show and beach dance party. We all had an incredible time! The place is built on a perfect spot for a resort. It is what it is lots of bad points but they do really try just little things that you should be aware of before you come like request a bottom floor room ? Etc.

Was there for a week. First few days were before a hurricane. Rainy and not much to do. The room was nice. Cannot complain. The food was ok. We liked that the buffet had Dominican food. Would be nice to have more restaurants. And only one open per day. We were not able to get a reservation for one of the restaurants. Only one pool that. The evening activities were fun. And the staff running them did a great job. The mealtime staff were very attentive and nice. The bar staff also were great. The room staff very helpful and did great.

Gran Ventana Resort has a beautiful setting and friendly staff, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was mostly cold unless cooked in front of us (like omelets), and desserts/fruits were left uncovered, attracting flies. The rooms are spacious but very dated—my shower and sink kept clogging, and I had to fix those issues myself. There are no elevators, so you’ll need to carry your own luggage unless you find someone to help. The pool is constantly overcrowded and closes at 7 PM, and the lack of entertainment or activities means the nights are over by 10 PM with little to do. Overall, the resort feels too small for the number of guests and lacks the basics you’d expect from a quality stay. I wouldn’t recommend it unless major improvements are made.

Staff was either not sure, didn't know or played hot potato with questions. We arrived and received zero help with several bags as we were a party of NINE! Checking in was also annoying due to 3.rooms and not knowing how and where to place who. I just said put whatever and we'll figure out the room arrangements. Nobody seems like they want to be there. First day food was great and it went down hill each day thereafter. Rooms need lots of upgrades and better cleanliness. Door didn't lock and had to slam it in order for it to even close (without bottom lock) called and zero assistance. Mini bar was never replenished and I just stop asking for anything for my own inner peace. Not worth the hassle. Definitely never going back.

This was a short getaway and while the staff and service were great the food was okay at best. The buffet was good, the seafood restaurant had a seabass fish that had a rubbery tough skin. The rooms had no drawer space for cloths and the mini fridge took a long time to get cold and ours was leaking water due to condensation. The sunrises were spectacular for sure and the beach was very nice.

Peninsula de Samana is a lush region in the Dominican Republic, offering secluded beaches, waterfalls, and whale watching. The primary city of Samana serves as a base for observing humpback whales that migrate to Bahia de Samana each winter. Las Terrenas is the liveliest town on the peninsula with expat-owned hotels, tour operators, restaurants, and bars along its long sandy seafront.
Samaná is a beautiful province on the northeastern peninsula of the DR and is now even more accessible via American Airlines with a direct flight from Miami to El Catey- less than 30 min from Las Terrenas! This is paradise on earth- a fisherman village on the coast with a European flare from transplanted expats from around the world- in the gorgeous and exciting tropical environment set to the beat of Dominican music. A wonderfully woven tapestry of Europe and Dominican culture, food, and people- some of the best beaches, food, drinks, nightlife, and shopping in the world! Must Experience to believe! 🌴🌿🌱⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌱🌿🌴

Punta Blanca Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course designed by renowned golfer Nick Price. Located conveniently near popular resorts, the course boasts lush tropical vegetation surrounding well-maintained fairways and greens. Hosting international and local tournaments, it offers a challenging yet picturesque experience for players of all levels.
Our whole experience with punta blanca golf has been excellent. We booked nine rounds prior to arrival. Nicole Paulino was excellent with the organising and keeping me informed. The course is excellent; challenging but fair! Bunkers are in good condition. Holes moved regularly . The staff are excellent; the starting team (some of them pictured) were brilliant. The restaurant staff were great ( Marcus montero & Mariely castillo also pictured) Also, the army of greens staff who tend the course. Very hard working. Polite and friendly. All in all a great nine days golf. We will be back!!!

It felt a little tired and unloved to be honest. Lots of great stuff to take away from my visit, the staff were great and the course was a nice challenge, I was warned prior to the round the greens had just been hollow tinned so no faults there and for the money can’t complain.
Mark H — Google review
If there was a 3.5 I would probably give it that but it’s not a 4 for sure. Let’s go through it. Main course is just fine, lots of fairway room, lots of bunkers. Some long par 5s and 3s. Some of the holes have sections that are a patch of dirt and cement or rock?! Unknown - but don’t go into it. Shame they don’t improve those with something more attractive or at least playable. Greens are receptive and well manicured but definitely slow and straight. Other stuff - service is…well, it’s the Dominican so just be patient. One woman was made to purchase a collared shirt - it’s just not a fancy enough place for that level of rules. The edges of the club and course are … rough and bit run down. The practice range is …not great, poor grass and the balls are terrible. It’s barely worth using it. Carts are a little tricky and some of the paths you take to holes are definitely an adventure. I’m glad I golfed here, but with some basic improvements - this course could be a lot more than it is.

I played this Nick Price layout for the local mini tour event during back to back days. Here is a scratch golfer's perspective: Pros +Layout, thoughtfully designed. +Greens, the greens roll true moreso than many other higher priced courses in the PC area (I would say only Punta Espada has better greens for putters). They hold their line and have consistent speed. The greenskeeper obviously knows what he is doing. +Fairways are lush. Rough is consistent in cut length. +Brand new carts as of 2025. +I understand the green fees are sub 70$, this is well worth it, bang for your buck. Cons -Don't expect a full size driving range. It is short, you cant hit driver. -The restaurant isn't great, bring your own snacks and beverages. -We played after a rain delay and the bunkers became rock hard. They definitely need more sand, which is a shame because of the great design you might land shortsided green side in a bunker (at least for a tournament set up), this cost a few strokes. For a practice round this is less of a concern. Overall this is a fun course, with great value to spend a half day during your PC getaway! Well done peeps at Punta Blanca.

Fun and easy course with super wide fairways and not a lot of water hazards. Conditions were generally good in October, with some patches on the greens being repaired. Appreciated the waters included with the golf cart rental. I had to rent clubs at $45 but they were a decent Titleist set. The sandwich provided on the turn was lackluster, and the driving range wasn't up to par, but I have no regrets and was happy to have the option to play while on vacation.
Stanley P — Google review
Great course. Wide open fairways ae you and good greens. Price was good course was challenging enough for average golfers. Restaurant not so good. They give you a dried up sandwich at the turn. New golf carts. 👍
Mike — Google review
Great course and right next to the Bahia’s a golf cart ride away 😎 staff was amazing, facilities have it all from range to sand trap, bar and restaurant. Fairways were in really Good shape and back tees will give you challenges, overall course is forgiving and fun !

if you’re hotel gave you a “free golf voucher” be warned they will charge you 50$ per person to ride in the cart. and try to not mention it. super scam. workers are not helpful.

I’ve taken many surf classes in many different places… This one was HANDS DOWN the best i’ve ever taken! The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable, kind, personable & the setting was breathtaking. It was so efficient & we rode so many waves. I got engaged the night before our class & I could not have DREAMED of a more perfect way to spend our first day as fiancés. Not to mention the pictures & videos taken- They truly went above & beyond. THANK YOU x10000000 for the memory of a lifetime- We are truly so grateful & will rave about this place for a lifetime.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE, highly recommended! Two friends and I booked a two-hour group lesson for begginers, and we were already surfing on the first wave! Each one of us had a dedicated instructor that was friendly, calming and supportive, sharing tips and tricks all the time. We also got the additional option to have the photographer film us with the GoPro camera, so that we have a perfect memory of our first day surfing. We loved it so much that we came the day after for another lesson! Kudos to the owner who gathered an amazing team and keeps the spirits high! We will definitely come back some day ❤️

I was staying at the nearby Dreams Onyx resort, but that beach was inaccessible due to seaweed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Macao Beach was very clean without any seaweed in the water. I scheduled a 2-hour surf lesson, and my instructor Sammy was very good. I had surfed a few times before, and am an avid snowboarder and skateboarder. So, we skipped the basics and got right into the water to maximize my 2 hours. Sammy provided great tips on which waves to take, and whether they were left or right breaking. The waves that day in July were small in size, but still fun to ride. While I was surfing, Macao Surf Camp let my 3 kids use some boogie boards for free. Our morning with Macao Surf Camp was a highlight of our trip. Fun and affordable, with great customer service.

Great value. Family of four, including two kids (age 13 and 11), leaned to surf here. Good beach instruction, plus 6 guys in the water (one for each beginner surfer, plus two to help tow kids past the break). All four of us learned to surf! Cost included round trip to and from our resort. Great experience overall!! And when they say meet at main gate, that is not beside lobby - get a lift outside your complex (the shuttle can’t enter past security unless guests are inside the vehicle).

WONDERFUL TIME: Little trip to MSC on the last full day of our holiday. My daughter and I took the two hour private surfing lesson. Mom wasn't up for surfing but joined us for the trip at no cost. We loved it. Wonderful instructors, beautiful beach, beginner waves, and big forgiving boards - we were up and surfing from the first wave. Instructors were great. They definitely work hard and ensure you catch as many waves as possible and getting you back out to catch the next wave. After our two hours, I was pretty tired. The 115us per person included pick-up and return to our resort about 30 mins away. The photos and drone videos of the experience is optional and you can preview them all before deciding to purchase. Pricey but such a beautiful memory, I couldn't resist.

BEST TIME EVER!! These guys are great!! Our family of 4 had so much fun!! Seriously, they picked us up from our Punta Cana resort as well as dropped us off once we were done. These men are patient, nice, encouraging, and above all else they want you to have fun! As a testament to their character, as we were leaving there was a woman (not with the school, out on her own) out in the water that hit a bad wave, she was struggling on every level. 2 of the guys sprung to action, jumped in and were able to get to her before the Lifegaurd even saw her, they most likely saved her life!!! Once it was time to go I had an issue paying, as they can't take Amex on the beach. They were so nice, they were only concerned that we had a great time, no worries of the $460 I owed them! Thankfully, they have PayPal and Zell so it was all straightened out without worry once we got back to the hotel and had cell service. This was my family's favorite excursion to date! I could not recommend this business more! The only thing I would have changed is I would have paid for the photos and drone video when it was offered at the begining of our stay...I was being cheap and now I am sorry.

I had an amazing experience with their surfing lessons! The instructor was patient and knowledgeable, making it easy for a beginner like me to catch some waves. They also took awesome pictures during the lesson. I can't wait to go surfing again! 🏄‍♀️🌊
