Schinias Beach is a long stretch of sandy coastline located in the northeast region. The beach is characterized by its unique setting, with a national park and pine trees at one end. It's perfect for leisurely strolls, offering snack bars and areas with sunbeds and umbrellas. Families will appreciate the shallow waters, making it safe for children to enjoy. The beach is set within a pine forest, providing fine sand and calm, warm waters ideal for families.
In my opinion, this is one of the prettiest and cleanest beaches near Athens. Plus, it's free! There's just a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. The people who come here are really nice and chill. You can also sit in the shade under the trees if you want. The swimming is great; you can go pretty far out. Plus, there are a few shy, beautiful cats before you enter the beach. The drive to this beach from Athens is lovely, taking you through Marathon, a cute little town. Unfortunately, there was a forest fire, but it's still very beautiful to drive through the area.
Micky D — Google review
Great place for any adventure , car free , family friendly with crystal clean water , clean entrance and amazing Rafina’s view .
Eugene C — Google review
Mind the parking! The beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, but the parking is only legal in the lots in the small town of Skinias. The spot we wanted to stay at was about 30m walk from the tavern. When we left, at about 8 o'clock, 6 police officers were giving out tickets and confiscating license plates. At least 30 cars were missing their plates, so be careful! The fine is at least 80 eur and you get your plates back in 30 days. The beach has golden sand, almost no pebbles, lots of shade from trees and the beach was not crowded at all, on a Saturday. The water is warm, very clear and very calm. A person who is taller than 1.5m can easily go 50m out and still be able to touch the bottom.
Dan-andrei C — Google review
Perfect non serviced, long and wild beach close to Athens. Very shallow and clean water. Plenty of space on the sand or underneath the pine trees and mostly not crowded at all. Parking during summertime can be a little difficult as the old parking spots were closed
Constantin — Google review
Clear water, just a few people, one of the nicest beaches.

Beach was great, our Little Man loved the sand and water was clean. We rented an umbrella and sun-chairs from Γλάρος Ψαρι Ταβερνα. €5 for each of us but you get a small bottle of water and a €5 drink credit, which I found to be a great value. The bar is walk up only but the bartender was very good, fast and nice. Didn't try the food at Γλάρος but we will be going back to try it as they have tables out on the sand and what I saw looked tasty.

We had an amazing experience here! The doctor fish were incredibly therapeutic, they took a little bit to get used to but once I did it was so fun. It was really an awesome unique experience! Our waitress Olga was incredibly attentive and made our entire experience amazing! Thank you especially for Olga! We also had several drinks and food all of which were delicious! The service was also very nice and fast, I highly recommend checking the lake out on your visit to Greece!

A hidden gem for sure - more of a beach club than we were expecting but it’s very relaxed with a great array of amenities (showers, bar, restaurant). It’s a beautiful setting and the doctor fish were a great add to the experience. Staff aren’t the most welcoming or attentive but the food was tasty. Would recommend!
Georgina B — Google review
Had a wonderful time at the lake today, we got there for about 11-11.30 (via metro and bus, took an hour) and queued for 10 minutes. Didn’t ask for student identification and we easily managed to get two sunbeds as there was still many available. It was lovely vibe. Foods quite pricey for small portions and not a lot of vegetarian options, just tomato basil pasta or margherita pizza as the two hot mains. We spent a few hours here, loved the fish. Water was SO salty! Not seen anyone else post about how salty it was, suprised me a lot! The lake was pretty cold despite it saying 25 degrees but fair enough. Changing facilities were good. Only two cubicles for female toilets though which surprised me. I enjoyed the experience as a whole!
Emma H — Google review
This place is just suuuuper cool👍👍 Enjoyed it just a to the beginning of March, sunny weather. Sun is very warm, but not burning, temperature in the lake is very refreshing. Lake is surrounded by the high rocks, so there is no wind there, just a smooth breeze. All what you need on weekend!! and it is very close to Athens 👍
Maxim N — Google review
Absolutely great idea to visit this lake. Come early as the sunbeds get occupied pretty fast by lunch time. No sunscreen allowed into the water, which is perfect in my opinion. Food and drinka available as well as wheelchair access.
Diana S — Google review
This is a spectacular lake and chill beach club. It is such great spot to spend the day but the bad service of the staff there really let it down. I visited in June 2024 and had a wonderful experience in a cabana with my family. I even wrote an 3-page feature article about the Athens Riviera mentioning it and Abraovato for Robb Report ANZ where I was the assistant editor at the time. This year my visit today was still beautiful but the service was underwhelming. There was a mix up with my booking on the door which resulted in the blonde female manager in charge being very rude to on the door acting aggressively from the start. Then after settling down to read in our pre-booked lounge chairs for 50 euro (not what we thought wee were getting really) we ordered mineral water and coffee and decided to make the most of where we were seated. But after our first swim we were then surrounded by two male lifeguards, a swarthy and loud old male pool cleaner, and another two older male service people who gossiped very loudly right behind us for over 25 -30 minutes which made me very uncomfortable and made it hard to concentrate on drawing and reading (let alone sleeping which would have been nice). I didn't come to the beach club to sit around with a bunch of strange men who were supposed to be working and weren't. Every time i turned around they were staring at me. The place was pretty empty so we asked to please be moved to a quieter spot and we did move to some chairs right around the back of the lake where we continued reading and sketching the lake. We ordered a salad and a cocktail and moved all our own stuff to some new sun beds that were just in the sun. Again empty beds around us for as far as the eye could see Then we were getting prepared to relax when the blonde female manager came back over and told us we had to pay another 60 euro to stay on the sunbeds. So instead of staying until 6.00pm and eating and drinking as we had intended and having a snooze there went to the One &Only for lunch in Glyfada where the service, pool and bar is impeccable. This beach club could have made our stay so pleasant and enjoyable and the unprofessional staff really let it down. Had they offered us an upgrade to start with and some good service we could have had a great time. I have told so many people about this place and now I will not continue to because there is a nasty attitude in the staff that is truly inexplicable.

Restaurant
Skalakia is a charming traditional Greek tavern that offers simply presented and tasty home-style food, popular with the locals. The cozy atmosphere makes it feel like sitting in your own neighborhood, especially on the outside balcony/patio during evening/night time. The menu features traditional salads, mezes, home-made pies, and outstanding meat dishes such as lamb and beef chops served with excellent fries. Although portions may be relatively smaller compared to other similar Greek tavernas, the prices are reasonable.
We go very often with my kids and husband! The people are so polite and friendly and it had never been once that we left with any kind of complaint! The food is always fresh and the meat premium! Fast service! Nice atmosphere! Great panacotta on top! 🤣🤣 We are grateful! 🙌🙌

We came for dinner. They told us that they were closing for the summer so they were out of a lot things. The things they did have were delicious. We had souvlaki, Greek salads and some appetizers. Service was great, I’d go back.
R. R — Google review
This traditional Greek tavern serves simply presented and tasty home style food ... and is very popular with the locals. 😊 It's well known for its meat ... especially their lamb & beef chops that are normally served with outstanding fries! 😋👍 😋 They also have all the traditional salads & mezes as well ad home-made pies. For dessert, most of the time, they have outstanding Halva (semolina pudding) that isn't too sweet. 😋 The service is very friendly & prompt and the prices are very reasonable. 😊👍

Came here late night after a long travel day as I was looking for a good homestyle meal. Ta Skalakia ("Little Steps") was excellent. I ordered the oven lamb (arnaki sto fourno), some greens and veggies (boiled vlita and baby zucchini) and a half order of beef liver, alongside a 500ml of their local house wine and a bottle of water. Everything came out perfect, the oven roasted lamb fell off the bone, the zucchini and bitter greens were amazing and the beef liver was delectable. Also the handcut fries that the lamb and liver were served with were amazing! Highly recommended, thank you staff and owner of Ta Skalakia, and I will visit you again next time I'm in the Ilisia neighborhood in Athens!
Lefty G — Google review
Lamb chop is so good. I came back three times during my stay.
Wei S — Google review
Not the the tastiest, but at least not the cheapest 😅 The waiter seemed very tired or ill, the lamb chops were mostly bones so I dont recommend this dish. Charging 5 euros for a small plate of tzatziki is also not a greatest deal. Meat was good.
Piotr Ś — Google review
İt was crowded but some waiters still helped us about the foods. The lamb chops were great. We suggest it
Mustafa D — Google review
Very cozy stay right next to stairs that are hidden. It looks like how you might expect a taverna in Greece will look like! Food was good and not too expensive. We paid 38€ for two people. We had bread, greek salad, greens, greek feta dip (unfortunately, not spicy as said on the menu), beef, fries (unfortunately, not fresh as said on the menu) and Fava. Also, they didn’t had two dishes that were written in the menu. Could have been nice to tell that beforehand when handing out the menu cards. Service was not good. Even though we we were still eating the waiter started to collect “empty” plates. This is a no no. Also, he didn’t greet us very sympathetic.

Very good place to drink a coffee and have a good brunch in Loutsa beach! Ideal for surfers. You can even lent your surfing equipment, enjoy the waves and then a very good brunch or lunch! The chicken club sandwich and the pancakes with strawberries and ice cream were very good!
MARIA A — Google review
Nissakia Surf Club in Artemida used to be one of my favorite spots. I’ve been going since its early days, when it was a small, laid-back place right by the sea. Over the years, it expanded and became a popular destination for windsurfing, food, and sunset views. While the location is still beautiful and nostalgic for me, the overall experience has changed. The quality of service and atmosphere feels like it’s dropped lately, even though the prices have gone up. There are also new policies that don’t quite match the relaxed vibe it used to have, like not being allowed to change tables and the fact that they no longer serve tap water after 8 p.m. and you have to buy bottled water. It’s still a place with potential and history, but it's definitely not what it used to be and its owner should reconsider his practices!
Nikos L — Google review
A great surf spot with good bar food and drinks by the sea. Gets super busy so there are moments where the service is not up to par and it can be hard to get a table. Avoid busy weekends of possible.

Another wonderful cafeteria ruined by a new sound system. Used to be my favourite place, great view, fabulous staff. Now driven away by the aggressive sound levels

This is a great place to have a drink and eat in a great atmosphere. You are directly at the edge of the bay where all the kite surfers ride!!! Great experience!!! Crazy good choice of liker (from all over the world) and tasty beer! See you next time.

Nissakia it's a wonderful place to visit alone or with friends if you want to relax, swim, do some sea sports like surfing, kite surfing ect. The view is magnificent and also the bar there is outside and very close to the sea for everyone to enjoy their time there. Especially the time that we went it was afternoon with the sun going down and the candles lightning the place it was magical. The staff is very helpful and always ready to serve you with a smile. As for the cocktails that we ordered they were all right but I have to mention that the price was a little bit on the high. And also that you're paying for the water there so be careful before you order. Parking was so easy and the whole experience was just amazing so that's why I give it a five-star review. Keep up the good work.

Vincci Ever Eden Beach Resort is an upscale beachfront retreat offering stylish rooms and suites, a spa, and an outdoor theater. Located near Athens, the resort sits on the picturesque Eden Beach, attracting a diverse crowd including families, students, athletes, and leisure travelers. Each air-conditioned room opens to a balcony and features amenities like satellite TV and a minibar. The hotel's beach restaurant and snack bar offer a varied menu.
We stayed at Vincci EverEden as a family of five, including a baby, and had an absolutely amazing time. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The food was fabulous, with a great variety and high quality at every meal. The staff were incredibly friendly, always helpful and kind, especially towards our children. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. The resort itself is beautiful, and the location is perfect. There’s a lovely beach right in front of the hotel, which was easy to access and ideal for the whole family. We also enjoyed beautiful sea views from our room, the restaurant, and the pool areas. A fantastic place for a relaxing family vacation. Highly recommended!

A very new and shiny 4* resort, punches above its price point - lovely spot, which I'd recommend. The service, though, was spectacular. My wife left some (very cheap) Zara clothes, to which she was particularly attached. The room service folks found them, and the amazingly helpful (and patient...) concierge team, Niki and Ioanna, helped me to arrange an emergency shipment back to my wife, who was in a state of mourning. I am super-grateful, as you can imagine...

The hotel is in a very good location, very close to the sea and has also two clean pools. It has excellent service and facilities. The room was clean but the space and size of the rooms we been offered was not a suite for four people. The gardens are beautifully kept and the keeps the place cool. Generous hosts with coffee and tea in room facilities, free bottles of mineral water and a plate of greek sweets. The breakfast had a great variety and excellent quality in a beautiful hall. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant and was one of the best we have gone to. Good facilities for children and their families. Highly recommended.

EverEden Beach Resort Hotel in Anavissos is a fantastic place to stay! The beach is just a few steps away, the water is crystal clear, and the sunsets are amazing. I had an absolutely incredible stay – 10/10 across the board! From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional: warm, professional, and attentive without ever being overbearing. The food was phenomenal, with every meal exceeding expectations in both taste and presentation. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained throughout my stay. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and valued. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience – I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-tier hospitality

This resort was very nice. The grounds are landscaped beautifully and the plants smell lovely as you walk around. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The balcony was huge and had a beautiful view of the sea. There are two outdoor pools and an indoor pool in the wellness center. They were great and not too crowded. The beach is very nice. It’s a little rocky but once you get out into the water there is a sandy bottom. We stayed half board which included a breakfast and dinner buffet. There was a good variety and everyone found something they liked. The staff is very friendly. One tip - I don’t believe they have a shop or ATM so make sure you have what you need before you come.
Christina L — Google review
Amazing beach resort! For Lagonisi location this spot is more for those you appreciate quiet luxury. The sand well kept, cabanas and lounger super clean, and not at all over crowded. Dusk and Dawn is this beach's greatest asset. 50/50 locals vs tourists. The waiting staff is fairly swift. Parking is not on the beach so no need to smell the fumes. Pricing of beverages and food are same as any other location. Water depth graded well for levels of swimmers with super fun floating jungle gym to play.

Vincci EverEden Hotel, Athens – Honest Review We recently stayed at the Vincci EverEden Hotel near Athens and overall, it was a very good experience. The hotel is stylish and well-equipped, with a wide selection of food — breakfast and dinner at the restaurant offered plenty of variety, and everything we tried was delicious. The beach area was definitely a highlight: the sunbeds and umbrellas are top-notch — more like comfortable beds with high mattresses — and the beach bar was excellent. However, the quality of the sand itself could be improved, as it wasn’t the finest. A few downsides: housekeeping was not up to standard. The cleaning didn’t seem very detailed, and the staff usually arrived late in the afternoon (around 2–4 PM), which was inconvenient since we were already back from the beach by then. We also experienced a door sensor issue where our room card stopped working, and unfortunately had to wait around an hour and a half for it to be resolved. Aside from that, the hotel offers great facilities — a small but functional 24/7 gym, a nice spa, and a kids' playground. It’s child-friendly, but also a great choice for couples or travelers without kids. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. All in all, a lovely hotel with a lot of potential and just a few things that could be improved.

Yabanaki Beach is a popular destination known for its soft sand and calm, shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for families. The beach offers various amenities such as sunbeds, parasols, toilets, showers, and changing rooms. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options including souvlaki, pizza, and sushi. For those seeking activities beyond the beach, there are opportunities for beach tennis and a children's water park.
We’ve been to many beach clubs around Athens, but this one was by far the best experience we’ve had. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special thanks to Thanasis, who was incredibly helpful and kind. He truly saved the day by offering to store our luggage safely as we were heading to the airport. That small gesture made a big difference for us and allowed us to enjoy our last day stress-free. Thank you to the entire team for the hospitality — we’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in Athens!

No food on the beach available, only very small bad menu and they don’t aloud to bring the food. You pay 10 for the entrance, 15 for the sun bed for now food place it’s ridiculous. Many good place around where you pay only sun beds and has restaurants with the food around

We used to live coming here. Even had our wedding party here. Decided to come here on a whim after several years and smack front on the window August offer - Mon to Fri 8 euro entrance! Today us Friday -great! Girl asks for 15 euro instead. I'm asking why, it says 8. She says no as today is Bank Holiday. I asked does it say anywhere "except bank Holidays"? She says no and if I still want to come in. I said yes, give her the money when the other girl says yo me for one day there's no point to write it anywhere. So I said - give me me money back and I left. Solely because of the attitude. I know you didn't loose much with me not coming in. But c'mon. Be better.

Plenty of sunbeds… nice music .. €36 for 2 people and an umbrella. Pleasant beach and bar staff. Basic food menu Be warned .. once you have entered you are only permitted to go outside from the resort for maximum 5-10 minutes.. before re entry… and the staff at the entrance were giving off prison officer vibes … Will not be returning
Rob T — Google review
Sadly, too expensive… it is 15€ just to get past the gates, and then 20€ just to seat down at the sun benches - That meant my boyfriend and I spent 50€ without even reaching the beach or doing anything at all really. The only good thing was the food! We paid for hamburgers and cesar salad and both were worth more than their price for sure.
Lore L — Google review
Terribly expensive and dirty. Terrible music and dirty sand. So many beautiful free beaches all around, avoid this place.
Thanos D — Google review
Nature, water, beach - unequivocally yes... Yabanaki unequivocally NO!!!! I have not seen such an attitude anywhere... not on any beach... you pay for the entrance, you pay for sun beds, umbrellas, but you can't leave the territory... otherwise you have to pay again! And at the same time on the beach, not restaurants and bars, but some incomprehensible small kiosks with snacks ... there is no service but the most important thing is the staff and how they allow themselves to communicate with people ... how can you position yourself as a high-level establishment ... I will definitely never come back here again ... especially when the guards behave inadequately ... last year there was a beautiful restaurant with areas ... now there is only construction ....

Karavi Schinias beach and water sports club is situated about 42 kilometers north-northeast of Athens, near the historic city of Marathon and in close proximity to the Olympic Rowing Centre. This year, it was honored with the Blue Flag award for its pristine waters. The entrance fee is 5 euros on weekdays and 10 euros on weekends. Visitors can enjoy sunbeds located close to the beach or opt for grass spaces.
Wonderful beach, worth the price. Not so crowded, nice sea and sunbeds, light music, even some grass spaces. From the 6 beaches we've visited near Athens, this one was the best. Reachable mostly by car. A good choice alao for weekends when everywhere else is impossible crowded.

Went on 6th October with some friends and our Labrador retriever which is a guide dog under training. Owner came out rushing to stop us from entering because of the dog. Stating there are families with kids and that dogs were not allowed. The dog is registered as a guide dog in training with paper work and we had called before hand and they had stated no problem. Reading other reviews the owner once again is singled out as having rushed to stop us and yet again denying a service dog to enter the beach. It is October and the beach was empty. Rude and unacceptable behavior.

Place like place and beach as a beach is good, but somehow it wasnt worth paying taxi paying entry and everything. Just too much people everywhere for that kind of "resort". Ofc in VIP sector where we were were no people but still you have to go through free sunbeds area tp the beach where were to manypeople and almost all of sunbeds are one next to each other.

Beautiful place, well organized, perfect for small children - with sand and shallow water. Very good food and coffee. Big parking space - if you spend at least 5€ per adult person, the parking is free of charge. They don't charge for the sunbeds and umbrellas

Prosili, also known as Porto Germeno, is a collection of five beautiful beaches with crystal clear light blue waters and pebbles. The water deepens quickly, making it important to be cautious when visiting with family. The area is known for its clean water and stunning colors. However, the beaches can get crowded easily. While the water is warm due to being in a bay within a bay, it's not too challenging for swimmers.
Beautiful small sandy beach with easy access, just a ten minute walk from the center of the village.
Cos T — Google review
Like a beach itself is very beautiful. Small with amazing colours. The water is clean like all "Porto Germeno" area. The only problem for me is this beach can easily collect more people that can hold. Sure I rate beaches with their beauty as criteria but so many people can not let you to see all beach beauty. Also it contains thicker pebbles and some rocks inside compare to the main beaches in the center and for that reasons I prefer to swim in the center of "Porto Germeno". Other than that, this beach can be small paradise if you find it without people

Chamolia beach, also known as Mikri Chamolia, is a secluded gem that offers a peaceful and quiet escape. Accessible after a walk from the nearby fish taverna, this hidden cove boasts clear blue-green waters and sandy shores lined with pine trees for shade. The area features nice waves and cliffs to explore, along with small coves to discover.
Great beach with trees for shade and a small cantina for snacks and coffee. The water is very nice and clear
Jeffrey L — Google review
Easy place to park(free), nice shadows from the trees so no need for umbrella and some rock benches, the beach is nice with sand and some rocky surface as you enter the sea and it has sand as you go further, lots of seaweeds and some trash here and there also a few in the sea(not many but that's why 3 stars instead of 4)
EvroNetwork — Google review
Nice shade under the trees alongside. Good looking scenery but VERY DIRTY, no shower, one obscured toilet with no water. Mostly elderly people on chairs, Unfortunately too dirty and stony to lie on the towel.

When we drove off the road, passing by the kiosk, two huge, angry dogs almost bit the vehicle off us, we couldn't even get out. I don't know what they are guarding, but the point is that we couldn't reach the shore. We went further to the Nafticos Omilos Vravronas place, which is nicer.

The beach bars are reasonably priced and provide plenty of sunbeds in clean and well-maintained surroundings.

I think on Google it lists there being 3 bars and a couple of beach areas but it has a joined up feel that is quite nice. All three bars have covered reclined areas that unify the whole beach front. They don’t have the benches right on the beach which is nice. There is plenty of parking at the back and if your early enough you can get your car under one of the many trees that can mean your not coming back to an oven. It has changing facilities, clean toilets and showers dotted around the back of the benches as well. I didn’t try the food so can’t comment or put up a 5 star. It also has quite a few pebbles at the north end so park at the south side. The north end is better for vehicle access at busier times as it has traffic lights to help you get in and out. (3-150/500/T450 J and M)

Nice beach bar with plenty of sunbeds (when ur on time, like 09:30 what we did). Only use beach shoes for the sea as there alot of big pebbles in the beginning. The sea goes very quickly deep what I like, instead of walking hundreds of meters.

Grand Beach Lagonissi at Grand Resort Lagonissi offers a luxurious and relaxing escape from the city. It's not a swanky beach club, but it provides great value for money with comfortable amenities. For a reasonable price, visitors can enjoy clear waters, soft sand, and excellent facilities including clean toilets, changing rooms, and showers. The beachside restaurant Poseidon serves delicious meals while the affordable food and drink prices make it even more appealing.
It is literally a beach with very clean toilets, changing rooms, and showers. I recommend buying a ticket in advance. If you are coming by car, you have to pay an extra 6€ parking fee at the gate. Food and drink prices are affordable. There are locked boxes attached to the umbrellas in the section where we made the reservation. Your belongings are safe while you are in the sea or when you leave your place for eating & drinking. It is a pity that the bar on the sea is idle. It would have made our day more fun if it was in working order. Especially the pool section needs some maintenance. It is definitely not a beach bar to go with a party dream, on the contrary, it is a relaxing and calm place.

Great private beach. We were looking for water sports so arrived here by chance. The place has all the facilities, clean bathrooms and shower, good service, food was ok too, nice cocktails. You pay per person (15€ for a couple, kids for less, and additional 5 € for parking), it was great!
Anat O — Google review
The beach is very nice. The settings is beautiful.. I currently living in Greece, but when I came from America on vacation, I would always come to Lagonissi! It’s really a nice destination. Especially if you are in Athens on holiday. I think 100-90 euro for beach chairs is a little high . I paid 50 in Mykonos and 60 at Lindsay Lohan resort in Mykonos. So coming here is a treat . The only thing I have to say is higher more staff or have quicker service. 20 min to have someone come over and take your drink order and another 25 minutes to receive that order is something not to be expected in a venue like this. Staff is very friendly. Environment is beautiful and very relaxing venue
Dimitri G — Google review
Old sunbeds, that day the sea wasn’t good at all. This place is good if you want to go to a cheap beach club. It’s not expensive and with the reservation they give free water, complimentary juice and mocktail or cocktail per person. Snacks also cheap, no food served only sandwiches and salads. Is worth it for the pocket but not for enjoyment. The place looks like abandoned.
Yasmin O — Google review
Restaurant review: we had a very nice lunch. Everything was extremely tasty and fresh. Very small portions and there was somehow a rush from the staff to empty the table. We enjoyed it.
D — Google review
After very expensive beaches on the Athenian riviera with not very clean water this beach is like a treasure. You are like on the island, pure clean water, clean WC, shower outside and inside and the payment during the weekdays only 15 Euro for the set.
Ilona K — Google review
Premium payments for poor facilities in a lovely area. There are no usable public toilets, one building is under repair and the other is not maintained, they expect people to go in the sea. Food and drink are more expensive than in the center of Athens, but the beach is soft and a very long slow incline into the sea.
Chris M — Google review

Located on the south coast of Attica, Glyfada is known for its vibrant atmosphere, lively entertainment, shopping options, and beautiful beach.
Glyfada Beach is my favorite beach within the Athens area — easily reachable by car, tram, or bus. It’s one of those rare city beaches that feels like a real getaway. The sand is broad and very clean (they actually clean it every morning!), and the water is beautifully clear and refreshing. There are showers, changing rooms, and umbrellas available, which makes it super convenient for a quick swim or a relaxed day by the sea. It’s an ok beach. Didn’t want to venture much out of Athens, as was relying on public transport which would have taken ages to get further. Averagely clean, water looked turquoise and clear. Can’t give it 5, since there are way better in the world, but for what it is, near a capital city and easy to get to, it’s good. From Athens, get the green metro line until some stadium down south west, then a tram line heading along the coast. Really easy and not too long.

Beautiful beach with great vibes! The entrance fee is €8 on weekdays and €10 on weekends. You can rent a sunbed on the beach the cheapest option is two sunbeds with an umbrella for €10, and a better option is €25. They also have private cabanas if you want more privacy. The beach is very clean, and the atmosphere is great relaxing music, nice people, and clear blue water . The food is average, nothing special but the prices are reasonable. However, the bathrooms and changing rooms aren’t clean, and there are no closed showers, only open ones outside. So keep that in mind if you plan to shower after swimming. Overall, it’s a beautiful and enjoyable beach, definitely worth visiting There’s also a My Market supermarket just 5 minutes’ walk away you can grab snacks, chips, and drinks from there. We arrived by bus, and the stop was just a 2-minute walk from the beach super convenient!

Beautiful beach! Good amount of sun loungers, and staff were helpful in explaining the different prices (5-25 euros). Entry is 8 euros. The cocktails were delicious, highly recommend the Tropical Passion. I ordered a simple burger and chips, also very tasty, albeit a tad pricey. Overall, a nice day at the beach and escape from the city! X

A decent beach near 20min from central Athens. You’ll have to pay 8 euros for the entry and 5 euros for the cheapest sun-bed on a week day. During weekends it is 10 and 7 euros (you have a lot of other options) The sea is very clean and beautiful. The sand had some garbage in it, but overall was pretty clean too. The beach has nice outdoor showers, toilets and changing rooms. You can also order the variety of food and beverages, but we didn’t try any of it

Excellent place we reserved a big cabana.water and ice included plus towels. Beach is super nice rough sand but tolerable food options are excellent something for everyone.prices are average for a club atmosphere. Music is great not to loud you can still have a conversation. Our cabana attendant was great Katerina is excellent. They speak English and Greek . I’m pretty sure they speak Spanish as well . Highly recommend

Super wide area with their own beach. To enter you must pay the entry fee. It depends on which date, events, day time or night time. You would have very nice and comfy seats by the beach or inside. Service is quick and professional. The vibe at night (before 11pm) is quite slow and under expectation (maybe too early) or maybe they are too wide.

Krabo is a chic beachfront eatery located in a secluded bay just a short drive from the center of Athens. The restaurant offers a menu inspired by the Aegean Sea, featuring an array of seafood dishes and traditional Greek options made with local ingredients. In addition to the dining experience, Krabo provides full-service sunbeds and cabanas on its private beach, creating an oasis for visitors to relax and enjoy Mediterranean cuisine under the pergola.
One of the best places I enjoyed in Athens. It has a great view, nice secluded beach and great food. Overall a great atmosphere to spend a complete day on the beach.

I really enjoyed the location, the beach vibes and the pulse of this bar. It is mainly filled with tourists. Be careful with your footwear if you'll sit in the sandy bar of the bar. Good cocktails, however vefy pricy.

This is my favorite beach in the Athens Riviera. You can swim as soon as you get in the water, the towels are clean, and the sun loungers are comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious; the kitchen is amazing. You just don't want the day to end. Highly recommend!

Thank you for a wonderful evening, super tasty food and low pleasant music. Friendly staff, perfect evening view to the sea. Reservation is needed.

There was seven of us and they accommodated us really nicely. We had drinks, lunch, hung out in the water and had more drinks. The music was great but the speaker was directly in front of us, so it was a little loud for us to talk. Definitely worth the trip and the money we spent.
Tank — Google review
Quite a romantic location especially in the evening when all the lights across the bay are lighten on. Food quality was high as were the prices. A must try the tartare and ceviche options. Recommended for a special evening out.

Top Location. The manager pays attention to it's guest and is always present. When there is a request he is always there to help and solve any issue. The service is fast and flawless, even during the hot hours of the day when resting should be recommended for normal people. Music is great, modern and exactly what to expect from a beach club. All in all absolute recommend.
Richard M — Google review
The location and the overall atmosphere is unique. The combination of the loud bar crowd and the dinners may not be unique - especially when busy. The service needs to be improved a lot. We visited on August 22nd and requested a second bottle of the same wine to be open and served when the first was exhausted. This did not happen. The sommelier was nowhere to be found and the waiters kept forgetting to fill our glasses. When we requested the bottle to be left on the table so we could serve ourselves to make up for the lack of service they refused saying that the restaurant did not have any icebuckets! This was not true because they had the water is ice buckets. So our late second botlle of wine appeared and "disappeared" once again and our glasses were soon left empty. The solution is probably to avoid busy times. The food was outstanding.

Voula Beach, located near Glyfada, offers both a public free beach area and a paid section with sunbeds and parasols. The beach is known for its cleanliness and friendly staff who speak English. It's a great spot for families as it's less crowded, making it easier to keep an eye on kids in the shallow waters with gentle waves. The paid section provides amenities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, food and drinks at the bar, showers, and toilets.
Very nice beach, more of a beach club rather than a public beach, you pay 9 euros for entrance fee. A set of 2 sun beds and umbrella is 42 euros, service was very good and you have a good space between sun beds so you have privacy. There is a small area for people who don’t want to purchase a sun bed. We really had a great and relaxing time. Reachable with bus

We had a great day at the beach here . 50e for set if sunbeds and umbrella ( 2nd row). While food is not anything special, the stuff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant/bar is beautiful, sunbeds are cozy. Shallow water, ideal for relaxed day at the beach.

Beautiful beachfronts ranging from sand to pebble. My daughter spent HOURS sorting through rocks to find the prettiest souvenir. Clean water, calm tides, and lots of sunshine.
Zackery — Google review
I asked some local teenage boys how to get to the beach and they took me through an opening in the damaged fence on the road Leof. Kon/nou Karamanli. I think I went through some type of resort. I guess I bypassed the entrance fee but apparently it is an illegal establishment anyway so locals bypass it all the time. It was actually very lovely (for Athens city beach standards). It is a lot cleaner than other Athenian beaches, the water is especially clear. I went to the end of the beach where there are no sun beds, close to the vegetation and nudist beach. There is a beach platform with shade. I went in June and it was quiet (in this non sun bed area) and mostly just locals. On the other side of the beach there is another area without sunbeds, also lovely but a bit busier with lots of local young people & teenagers playing water sports etc. It is a nice atmosphere though. In terms of food, there’s not much choice best off eating elsewhere (or bring with you). Sun beds are expensive but just bring your own beach mat.
Anastasia A — Google review
The furthest but clearest beach (water quality and sand/ stone). Where Athenians like to go so go figure. 90 minutes from the centre by bus or 35mins by a car.
T C — Google review
Beautiful, clear water and soft sand, but quite an expensive beach experience; they police the shade from trees, so if you want shade, you need to pay a minimum of 30 euro to sit with an umbrella in the back row. And prices increase to over 50 euro if you want an umbrella in the first or second row.
Katie — Google review
Best Beach I've been to of the 4 beaches I've been to in Athens. Entry : €7.5 Monday to Friday. €9 weekends. €4 discount for over 65s, kids age 6-12 & students with id card. Beach has great gradual decline into water and great for kids as it's shallow enough to kids to stand up for the first 20 meters into the water. The water had floaty bits of small plants and stuff which was the case with all the beaches. Wasn't any painful rocks in the water either which was nice as we went to Akti Iliou beach yesterday and there were so many painful rocks as we went in for the first 4 meters. Friendly staff. All lounge chairs hired as a pair. €40 for pair for first 2 rows closest to water. €30 for all rows back. Came with big towel and pillow. There was a €10 lounger without umbrella but under tree near restaurant that could hired on its own and without hiring a pair. Nice showers There's about 4 restaurants at the beach with their own beds and loungers. We went to "Bloom"and got the Suzuki Mango (8pcs) €12 Cured Sea Bass | Asparagus | Avocado | Exotic Sweet Chili Mango Gyros €13.5 Chicken | Paratha bread | Avocado "tzatziki" sauce | Brioche breakfast € 9,5 omelet | Mayonnaise | Onion jam | Harajuku sauce | French fries Everything was very tasty, good value and good portion size. The best toilets and changing rooms I've seen at any beach! Nice atmosphere and decor of restaurants. Fairly priced food. Qr code ordering and waiter service to lounge chairs. High quality beach shops once you enter. Nicer than guys walking around selling stuff in my opinion. Felt safe. Very family friendly. The lifeguard fished out a dead bird from water which was nice initiative as other beaches with free entry beaches had litter. This beach had a cleaner going around so it felt clean.
Daniel E — Google review
If you managed to find your way without paying over priced entrance fees to the illegally built resorts and beach bars and restaurants, do yourself a favour and walk 5 minutes further down the way, and sit at the naturist beaches. Buy some drinks and tastier food at the kiosks at the bus stop and enjoy Greece at it should've been without politicians and capitalists taking advantage of nature

Asteras Beach is a long privately-developed stretch of sandy coast that offers various leisure hubs, including Balux Pool Seaside and chic cafe-restaurant Ark. The beach provides rental loungers and umbrellas, sports courts, bars, and playgrounds. Despite the closure of the paid beach park, the beach can still be accessed publicly for free by following a specific path.
This beach is awesome! On weekdays it was not crowded at all, it's not expensive (5 Euros-in 2019), clean, it has free umbrellas and sun beds, restaurants, lockers, everything. When you enter the water, you need to walk about 100 meters just to get to a depth in which you can properly swim but this was a plus for me. This is a great place for kids and also adults as well. I can totally recommend it.

This place is no longer what it used to be. Entry is 50 euro per person just to get in, and you still pay extra for sunbeds and overpriced drinks. Feels like a private club, not a public beach. Crowded, loud, and poor service. Definitely not worth the money. Better look elsewhere.

The beach is beautiful, clear and tidy but is expensive, small and some chairs are broken ... the ticket costs 12€ for person on sunday (the umbrella is incluses and there is a pool that is very wonderfull)

Varkiza Resort is a sprawling seafront complex located on a beautiful sandy beach, making it one of the best beaches in the Athenian Riviera. The resort offers a wide range of amenities including restaurants, water sports, beach bars, and a spa. Families with children will find the numerous dining options convenient. Guests can enjoy various activities such as beach tennis, volleyball, aqua aerobics, fitness events, windsurfing, and water skiing.
We visited this beach twice during our trip and absolutely loved it. We entered through Entrance B and grabbed chairs at the far end of the club, right next to the only working kitchen restaurant. It was easy to find seating, and the chairs were super comfortable. Fare rates too! The beach itself was stunning—soft sand, shallow water, and clear. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the laid-back, welcoming vibe. On our first day, we played it safe and ordered pizza. It was edible, but not something we’d get again. Day two was a game-changer: the kids had the Smashburger, my husband got the club sandwich, and everyone was thrilled. Huge portions and genuinely delicious food. Definitely legit beach eats—just steer clear of the pizza. One small suggestion: it would be great if they offered towel clips or bands, as it gets very windy. Just a thought! Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing beach day with great service and surprisingly good food.

Beautiful beach with comfortable sun beds . Water is crispy clean and nice sand beach . Food quality and taste below average options are very limited .no need to reserve on weekdays the place is empty . 8 dollars per adult entry fee plus 40 euros for front two rows umbrella . Coffee is 4.5 euros . Free parking available although they have paid parking . No handicap easement . No sit up chairs for elderly .its a beautiful beach to spend the day , but due to cost of entry and size of immediate family it ends up costing me a 100 euro a day just for entry and 1 umbrella with 2 chairs .
E K — Google review
The location is beautiful and conveniently close to Athens. However, the service was extremely disappointing. It took over 90 minutes to receive basic items like salads, pizza, and snacks. The kids’ soft drinks were served in dirty plastic cups that looked reused, which was unacceptable. Overall, the experience did not reflect the value paid, I chose this resort expecting a certain standard of service that was simply not delivered.

One of the best beaches you find in the Athenian Riviera. We had a cabana for 180$ for the day. A bit pricey but the rooms were great. The biggest downside is the fact that the bar only serves sushi. We had to leave the premises to get some good lunch and return for the rest of the day. The water is stunning
Grenten D — Google review
Great beach near Athens! Huge and clean with plenty of sunbeds so it never feels crowded. Entry €8 and sunbed with umbrella €10 – very reasonable compared to other places. Drinks are affordable and the beach bar has nice music plus simple food (pizza, club sandwich, hotdogs). Toilets and showers available, just bring your own towel. Perfect for a relaxed beach day .I’ll definitely come back anytime to Athens during the summer.
Muhannad J — Google review
Very disappointing service. Communication was poor and the receptionist came across as quite rude to tourists. We asked if she could show us the place before entering, since we were a group of 10, but she refused and didn’t seem to care. Overall, there was little attention to customer service or guest experience.

The have a central bar being built presently. They have 1 Gelato truck, 2 food/beverage trucks. Beach is pool water clear and clean! There is guys walking around the resort sweeping and picking up trash. $15 € per adult. 6 years and older $7.5€ per child A must!

Kape Beach, located near Legraina in Attica, is often described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Accessible via a dirt road, visitors are greeted with a Porto Katsiki beach vibe. The pebbly shore and crystal-clear waters make it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. The beach features a canteen for essentials and refreshments.
Really nice beach, it is worth it driving the 60 km from Athens. Lots of parking spaces on the road right above the beach, and also on a large parking space about 100 metres from it. If you are in Athens I would definitely reccomend visiting it.
Roni K — Google review
Lovely beach but not a great road to it. Park where you see other cars parked and certainly don't bring a rental the whole way. Don't drive up via the boat rental place, the road at the back is not a real road. Nice beach, clear sea. Nude zone is around to the right, walk around the stony bit and then it clears again. Wear proper shoes, no flip flops for accessing it, but the stones are smooth once you're on the beach.
Hugh M — Google review
Don't even waste your time coming here. Only if you really like to pee in sea... and stay on big stones. This is absolutely wild beach - no sunbeds, no umbrellas, no toilet, no shower, no possibility to buy water or food. I will never come here again. There are other more comfortable beaches around with same quality of water. So if you get used to at list minimal comfort better to avoid this place and live it for wild beach lovers.
Iryna — Google review
Beautiful beach. Don’t pay attention to all the negative reviews as they are mostly whining about the crowds which you are not going to avoid anywhere in Greece as this is one of the most sought after tourist destinations throughout the world.
Stefanos M — Google review
The beach itself is lovely, but there’s a lot of trash around it — nearby, along the path to it, and all around the area.
Aventisin — Google review
It's a nice change to be at a fairly enclosed cove with pebbles rather than a typical long stretch of sand with open sea in front and buildings behind. (Pebbles are small thankfully!). Water is clear down to a good depth and it's good for snorkelling - octopus, a turtle and lots of varied fish were spotted. It's a shame that like many places within reach of the city, there's a fair bit of rubbish in the water, especially nearer the beach. There are no services and access is via steps from the parking area and road.

The Sanctuary of the Egyptian Gods at Brexiza is an ancient religious complex dedicated to Serapis, Isis, and Horus. Discovered during rescue excavations in the 1970s, it features luxurious bath houses and statues of the Egyptian deities. Although replicas stand sentinel at the site, the originals are housed in a museum. Visitors can explore this Greek-Egyptian sanctuary for free but should be mindful of its limited opening hours.
Beautiful monument to visit! Entry is free, we were allowed to take our dog as long as he stayed on the path. It’s nothing big and the beach infront is breathtaking, so you can easily combine those two!

Valentina P — Google review
I thought the statues were real but finally saw them in person at the Marathon museum. Wow! They are something else in person. The site is cool but wish they would clean up the back to discover much more.
Living G — Google review
Very interesting archeological site but disappointed there wasn't more to look at. The statues at this site are replicas and original are at a different location, housed in a museum. There's no guide and no pamphlet to tell you what you're looking at, but very briefly, it's a Greek-Egyptian sacred sanctuary that was built on a marsh that resembled the Nile of Egypt. The relationship Greeks had with Egypt was a very intricate one and although the statues here are in obvious Egyptian style, they have Grecian faces!!! The area in the middle was a pyramid and the entrances were guarded by Osiris or as the Greeks had their own name for this god, "SERAPIS".
Chrysoula B — Google review
Very interesting find as we took a walk along the Nea Makri promenade. Tucked away on the left is a gate in a wire fenced off area. There's an attendant who can offer some literature. This is the site of Egyptian baths around 260 ad. There are some Egyptian statues standing sentinel at the doorways to the ruins and your imagination builds a picture of what it must have been like to be there in ancient times.

Astir Beach, located in Athens, has been a hotspot for celebrities and affluent visitors since the 1960s. The beach offers top-notch amenities including a VIP lounge, fashion boutiques, food outlets, and spa facilities. Adjacent to Astir is Lake Vouliagmeni which boasts mineral-rich water with healing properties. While some find the rental fees for umbrellas and chairs expensive, others argue that it's justified given the luxurious experience and high-quality restaurant on site.
This is a really nice beach club, and in my opinion, probably the best one in the Athens area. The service is good, the sea water is crystal clear, and there’s no loud music — which makes it perfect for relaxing, reading a book, or just enjoying the atmosphere. That said, the prices are on the higher side. On weekends and holidays, expect to pay around €160 for two people (two sunbeds and one umbrella). Towels are not included and come at an extra charge. The restaurant is also quite expensive — for example, a cappuccino at the bar costs €5.50. What I didn’t like was that it was served in a paper cup, even after I asked for a proper cup. That was disappointing, as enjoying coffee in a real cup is part of my ritual. A very unique aspect of this place is the presence of ancient ruins — the remains of a temple thousands of years old are located right on the property, which was an incredible and unexpected surprise. Overall, everything else was excellent, and I can definitely recommend this beach club. Just make sure to book in advance through their website. Also note that parking is available right next to the club, at €15 per day.

We had a fantastic time at this Beach! The atmosphere was super chill and the staff were really friendly. We recommend booking sunbeds in advance, as they can fill up quickly. The only negative aspect of my experience was that we were not informed about the parking fee.
G K — Google review
We had a nice time at this beach. The water is shallow very far out so it’s good for kids or non swimmers. The sights were beautiful and the chairs were comfortable. The staff was great too. The only downside is that it is expensive. I’m talking €10 per large water bottle - these are 1€ elsewhere. The food and drinks were also USD priced at €20 a cocktail and over €25 for beach food. It’s nice if you can afford to splurge. We spent €80 on an umbrella with two seats. We spent €70 on a smoothie, 2 coffee, a yogurt bowl and 3 waters.

The place is nice and the sea is very clear. However, the service and facilities are poor. For this price (we paid 200 euros for 2 people), I was expecting a much better experience. I think this is a lack of attention to small details to make it the place to go (for example some nice music, shampoo in the showers, more friendly staff, towels included, parking included, etc.)
Raya S — Google review
The beach is amazing, the water is Crystal clear BUT parking is 15 euros, no towels , very slow service and no one cleans the table until you leave so we had 10 glasses of water and the food remains on the side table till we left !! Towels is available to rent !!!!!! And they are disgustingly old and all that after paying 180 euros for the umbrella … honestly I will come back but the only reason is the water clarity and nothing els !! What a pity, this place could easily turn into heaven
Mudhaffer A — Google review
Upscale . Entrance fee Eu 35 per person includes umbrella and beach chair. Towels available at extra 10 EU. Food variety available and prices are a bit higher than restaurants. Shallow clear water but cold in the middle of August.
Nagi E — Google review
One of the best beaches in Athens. Prices though have gone massively up the last few years (70-180 euro per set) without any renovation of the sun-beds and umbrella’s the last 17 years. The quality of the umbrella’s and sun-beds are dated and of poor quality with absorbing heat that could easily produce skin burns.

Grand Resort Lagonissi, The Leading Hotels of the World is an elegant beachfront retreat located on a beautiful 300-km peninsula in south Attica. The resort offers exquisite dining options, a luxurious spa, and chic rooms with unobstructed views of the Saronic Gulf. Guests can enjoy spacious suites with private pools and balconies overlooking the sea and pool. The attentive staff provides exceptional hospitality, catering to guests' needs, including infants.
I stayed at Grand Resort Lagonissi in a beachfront bungalow, and the experience was absolutely perfect. The room was exceptionally spacious, beautifully designed, and opened directly onto a private beach – you literally step out of your room and into the sea. The service throughout the resort was outstanding: prompt, courteous, and highly professional. Breakfast was a highlight – an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality dishes. A true delight for food lovers. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, luxurious, and private – one of the few places I already know I’ll return to. An unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

One of the coziest and quietest hotels I’ve stayed in. Perfect for anyone who wants to disconnect from the world and just relax. It’s mostly adults and families, so it stays very calm and peaceful. Great for big families, as they offer large villas, including a honeymoon villa that comes with its own private gym, makeup room, and a special hair room where the bride can get ready for her big day — all with a beautiful view. There’s also the Royal Villa, a luxurious 7-star villa with both indoor and outdoor pools. It’s absolutely massive and stunning. All the villas and suites come with their own private jacuzzi, which is always a plus! I personally recommend the bungalows with the small pool — super cozy and private. Highly recommended if you’re looking for peace, space, and a touch of luxury.

An absolutely unforgettable weekend getaway! The Grand Resort Lagonissi is a true slice of paradise on the Athenian Riviera. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—the staff made us feel completely welcome and cared for. The resort itself is simply stunning. The private beaches, the crystal-clear waters, and the beautiful grounds create an atmosphere of pure luxury and relaxation. I spent my days unwinding by the sea, and the views were breathtaking. Watching the sunset from my balcony was a moment I'll never forget! This is more than just a hotel. it's an entire experience. If you're looking for a top-tier escape with unparalleled service and a serene, beautiful setting, this is the place!

This resort has undeniably beautiful grounds and beaches. It’s very conveniently located near the airport and Athens, so you can experience the beautiful of Grecian seaside without the hassle of traveling to the islands. The service is quite good and it was a beautiful venue for a wedding. That said, the rooms in the main building are outdated and small. The bathroom reminds me of that you might find on a cruise ship; when you open the door, it hits the toilet and you have to perform gymnastics to get in. The bed was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel, much less a luxury hotel. The bright spot of the accommodations is that you are hard-pressed to find a room where you don’t have a beautiful view of the ocean! The food is extremely expensive, though this is to be expected at a seasonal beach resort. As some reviews have mentioned, the resort does somewhat nickel-and-dime you (for example, only your first 2 espresso pods are included) and it is missing modern amenities. All in all, the location and scenery of the hotel are 5-star but the accommodations themselves are more like a 3-star experience. If it were not for the compelling nightly rate offered to wedding guests, I would have felt severely over-charged for the quality of the stay. I would absolutely not pay €500+ per night to stay here.

The Grand Resort Lagonissi is one of the most famous and luxurious 5-star resorts on the Athenian Riviera, known for its extreme exclusivity and stunning location on a private peninsula. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. It is a large, self-contained resort designed to offer a complete luxury vacation without ever needing to leave the property.

Racist and poor value for money. An assumption was made that myself and 2 others were too poor to be allowed access. We are well presented and frankly very successful individuals from London, England. The only thing that makes sense as to why we were treated the way we were is due to our skin colour. It was a day when no taxis were running and we were staying close by so we walked to spend the day on the beach. Before even getting to a point where we could purchase a day pass we were questioned why we were on the grounds. After paying entry to even walk on their frankly mediocre grounds we were questioned again about why we were there. After calmly explaining our intention to spend the day on the beach we were told it’s too expensive for us and to go somewhere else. After explaining it’s fine the racist security insisted we leave. They were extremely dismissive and rude. We are civilised and ensured there was no escalation however I think many people would have concluded our reaction was way too passive for the treatment we were subjected to. This company lost money that day due to inaccurate prejudice and I hope that anyone with any basic level of standards when it comes to customer service will know better than to spend their money with this company. I have frequented many luxury establishments across the world and in my opinion from what I was able to see from their grounds it shouldn’t fall within that category. So even if racism and customer service isn’t a priority for you know that the money you spend is not worth the value they offer.

A lovely resort with beautifully landscaped outdoor areas and wonderful views. Efficient and professional service from the reception team to the restaurant staff with a real personalised approach to the clients. Would highly recommend.
Livvy D — Google review
There is not a chance this is 5 star- I will never understand how Hotels and companies within the hospitality industry simply do not comprehend that a continuous staff training program is essential- people expect the experiential nowadays - this is no in the number of threads in the sheets - its the people behind the engine of the project! I say project because no resort is ever complete- they should change and evolve all the time- Poor management and poor staff training leads to 3 star reviews and this review has little to do with the poor finish on the paint jobs or plaster in the corridors.

Grecotel Cape Sounio is a luxurious hotel offering stunning sea views and access to two private beaches. Guests can indulge in multiple dining options and pamper themselves at the on-site spa. The hotel's prime location allows for a day of exploration, including visits to beautiful beaches, the ancient Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounio, and enjoying a Greek meze dinner at Lavrio.
One of the most breathtaking resorts in Greece! We return every year and somehow each stay manages to be even better than the last. This time, the hotel manager went above and beyond, upgrading us to a dreamy villa with a fantastic view to celebrate our wedding anniversary – an unforgettable gesture. Everything here is flawless: comfort, cleanliness, spacious design, stunning nature, delicious food, pristine beach, exclusivity, exceptional service and the added bonus of being so close to Athens. Truly our favorite getaway, and we can’t wait to return again and again!

Firstly the service here is 11/10! I don’t think we ever waited more than 30 seconds for a glass of water, the staff are fantastic & very attentive. Being at the beach & pool is a pleasure. The grounds of the hotel are immaculate & the views breathtaking. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a temple view room which I would highly recommend, one of the best room views I’ve ever had. The food is very good, Yali being by far our favourite restaurant on the site, romantic setting & amazing fish dishes. Great choices at breakfast (but we would say the dinner buffet is not worth the cost). There were just a few little niggles. The cleaning could be a bit better in the rooms & this may not effect others but for us it was a shame - there is a huge TV in the room but it can’t connect to WiFi or Netflix etc so only a few channels available - on our rainy day it would’ve been nice to watch a film. We ordered room service once & had to send it back, this was the only food we had there that wasn’t good. We arrived for the wine tasting & it’d been cancelled but no one seemed to know about it which was odd as it had been on the app all week & advertised to us at breakfast that day. (The hotel put on a range of different daily activities on site which is a nice touch) These things wouldn’t stop me from coming back, (I just note them as obviously it’s not a cheap stay) we loved our break here & both felt truly relaxed. The hotel has a special feel to it that I haven’t experienced in many others 💫

This place was a perfect 10 out of 10. A rarity that I had never given to any place that I’ve ever stayed. Their customer service was exceptional. The rooms were great prices for the experience that we got out of stay. My only regret is that we didn’t stay here longer. But, will definitely be coming back and staying much longer next time. The rooms and area are stunning. 5 minute walk to the beach. About a 10 minute drive to the Temple of Poseidon which is highly recommended for sunset. They also arranged transportation to and from the temple. Super friendly and always greeted with a smile. I’ve traveled to many places and the customer service is top tier! It elevated our experience in Greece and our expectations for anywhere else. I did have a better review written. But, when I went to upload the photos of our stay, the page refreshed and lost everything I had originally written. I can’t wait to visit this place again and for longer. My partner & I are still shocked at how amazing it was.

Obviously extremely nice location along with extremely friendly staff ~ bathroom could’ve been cleaner, everything here costs extra, from the most expensive food I had in Greece (it was good but not mind blowing) to having to pay for cabanas it feels like they nickel & dime ya a little bit. Asked for a to-go box and a staff member told me there’s no doggie bags for me, unsure what that meant but felt a little disrespectful. Overall for the thousands of euros spent, I feel like there could’ve been a little more included. The worst part was their taxi service which had a flat rate based on distance. My partner and I went a half mile down the road and it was €15 so we resorted to calling our own Ubers and then just hiking to places off the resort.

Stayed at Grecotel last month and the experience was superb from the moment we arrived from the moment we left. The staff are exceptional. Beyond welcoming. My wife and I are both vegan and thought food options might be tricky but they had a full vegan menu and catered for us at every level. The location is fantastic and the view of the temple superb. The private beach is also great with full service available. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience.

A Magical Escape at Cape Sounio – Unforgettable Latin Live Music and Dance! Staying at Cape Sounio was an experience beyond expectations – a perfect blend of natural beauty, luxurious comfort, and high-end entertainment. From the moment we arrived, the resort’s elegance and the breathtaking views of the Temple of Poseidon set the tone for a truly memorable getaway. The service was impeccable, the suites beautifully appointed, and the entire atmosphere radiated tranquility and class. The food was amazing! But the true highlight of our stay was the Latin band and dance performance – an absolute showstopper. The dancers exuded passion, precision, and charisma, captivating the entire audience with their fluid movements and flawless choreography. Their chemistry was electric, drawing us into a story told entirely through rhythm and motion. It wasn’t just a performance – it was an emotional journey that brought energy, elegance, and romance to the evening. What made it even more special was the setting. With the ancient Temple of Poseidon in the background, it felt like something straight out of a dream – a unique blend of culture, history, and art that you simply don’t find at typical resort entertainment. Cape Sounio is more than a luxury destination – it’s a place where unforgettable memories are made. I would return in a heartbeat, especially for another chance to witness that stunning performance.

It was the best experience!! Specially the service, they had a lot of details since the beginning and made our time special. Also the service was great! George from the pool!!!!!! made our time in the hotel extra special, he did the extra mile. We were celebrating my boyfriend birthday and they had this information giving him special details, cakes, desserts and all kind of surprises. I fully recommend!

Disappointing Experience at a Supposed 5-Star Resort – Not Worth €2000 for 24 Hours Our stay at Cape Sounio was, unfortunately, a disappointment — especially considering the €2000 total price tag for just one night. We had high expectations based on the hotel’s 5-star rating, but what we experienced fell far short of even basic hospitality standards. Unacceptable Cleanliness: Shockingly, when we arrived at our room, there was traces human feces left in the toilet. This is completely unacceptable for any accommodation, let alone one that calls itself luxury. Repeated Privacy Violations: During our stay, hotel staff repeatedly interrupted us by entering or attempting to enter the room — once even opening the door while we were sleeping and undressed. Completely unprofessional and invasive. A "Relaxing" Massage Ruined by Construction: We booked massages expecting a peaceful experience, but the spa was plagued by loud hammering and construction noise. The massage itself was competent, but the environment was anything but relaxing. We were told we had to pay for sunbeds, which is absurd at a resort in this price range. It felt like nickel-and-diming at every turn and after arguing, this was corrected. Payment Hassles: They did not accept digital cards (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.), forcing us to leave the hotel to retrieve a physical card — a major inconvenience and outdated policy for a so-called premium destination. For the cost — nearly €2000 for a 24-hour stay — we expected seamless service, discretion, cleanliness, and tranquility. What we got instead was a string of unpleasant surprises and basic service failures. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend Cape Sounio to anyone expecting true five-star hospitality.

Erotospilia beach, also known as Love Cave, is a hidden gem located in Porto Rafti. This small cove with sand and pebbles is perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The beach is wind-protected and surrounded by trees that offer natural shade. The light green/blue waters are stunning, making it one of the most beautiful spots in Attica. While there are no sunbeds available, visitors can bring their own equipment for a day of relaxation.
Police take licence plates every day from cars parked at the yellow lines close to the beach, park bit further to not loose your licence for a month

A small secluded beach located in Markopoulo, approximately one hour away from Athens. The beach itself is good enough, a typical beach in Attica. The characteristic of the place is a small cave next to the beach which provides shade. Can get easily crowded due to the short coastline. Recommended in the evening hours.

Beautiful small beach, can be very crowded in high season in Summer 🌞
Alla V — Google review
The beach is a natural beauty, however in peak season it is just a mass of people, squashed all together with no space for you to really enjoy the beach. It is very popular with younger adults who are looking for that Instagram image.

Hard to find parking, always too crowded. The quality of the waters is average and the beach is simply to hard to walk on... cigarettes everywhere and umbrellas won't stay put if it blows from the sea. Too hard soil to dig for the umbrella pole too...
