History Museums
The Bahrain National Museum is a celebration of the history and civilizations of Bahrain, showcasing contemporary artworks, ancient burial mounds, and archaeological pieces dating back 5,000 years. Spanning almost 28,000 sqm, with two buildings covering 20,000 sqm of floor space, the museum offers a comprehensive look at Bahrain's past and present. Visitors can explore exhibits on pearl diving, traditional architecture, handicrafts, ancient manuscripts including copies of the Quran, pottery and coins.
Visited the Bahrain National Museum, and it was such a fascinating experience. The place beautifully captures the country’s rich history and culture. What really amazed me were the exhibits from the Dilmun civilization - especially the ancient burial mounds, pottery, and ornaments that date back thousands of years. Seeing how advanced and artistic that civilization was left me in awe. The museum is well-organized, easy to explore, and gives a real sense of how deep Bahrain’s roots go. A must-visit if you want to understand the soul of this island nation.
Dr. R — Google review
Nice enough museum but lots of work going on so it will greet bigger and better I am sure. I was trying to find the aerial pictures of Bahrain over the ages that I’d seen before but couldn’t find them ☹️ maybe next time!
Double D — Google review
Bahrain National Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the country’s rich history and culture. Its well-organized exhibits showcase archaeological finds, traditional artifacts, and contemporary art, providing an insightful experience for visitors. The museum is spacious, informative, and ideal for anyone interested in Bahrain’s heritage.
Chao W — Google review
The museum is quite interesting, explains the history of bahrain all the way till modern life. It covers many aspects such as social, trading, cultural sides and much more
Mohamad B — Google review
The Bahrain National Museum is beautifully curated and offers a rich look into the country’s culture, heritage and history. The exhibits are informative without feeling overwhelming, and the architecture itself is stunning. It’s well-organized, peaceful, and a must-visit for anyone wanting to truly understand Bahrain’s past and traditions.
Vishal M — Google review
The Bahrain National Museum is a masterpiece of storytelling and design. Set along the waterfront, its calm, light-filled architecture perfectly complements the depth of the history it holds. Walking through the galleries feels like tracing Bahrain’s soul from the ancient Dilmun civilization to Islamic artistry and modern heritage. Every exhibit is beautifully curated, detailed without being overwhelming, and presented with care. What stood out most was how seamlessly the past and present are woven together you don’t just see history, you feel its continuity. A visit here leaves you with quiet awe and a newfound respect for this island’s enduring spirit.
Projat S — Google review
The Bahrain National Museum beautifully displays the island’s rich history, from the ancient Dilmun civilization to the Tylos period and beyond. The galleries highlight the Early Copper Age, burial mounds, traditional culture, and many other historical moments that shaped Bahrain’s identity. They even had Indian rupees once used in Bahrain before the dinar. The exhibits are well-curated with artifacts, manuscripts, and crafts that bring the kingdom’s heritage to life. The entry fee is BHD 1.100 for adults and free for kids.
Roshan M — Google review
Though small, the museum is clean and well-organized. Entry costs 1.1 BHD, and you’ll need around 30 minutes to go through the exhibits. A good short visit for anyone interested in local history.

Al Fateh Grand Mosque, built in 1988 and named after Bahrain's founder, is a must-visit for those interested in Islamic culture. The mosque can accommodate up to 7,000 worshippers and features stunning architecture with Italian marble, Indian teak, and hand-blown glass from France. Visitors can engage with friendly guides who are open to answering questions about Islam, faith, and Bahraini culture. The mosque also houses a library with thousands of centuries-old books.
Fantastic experience. Strongly recommended: not only for the magnificence of the grand mosque, but also for the impeccable friendliness of the staff and tour guide. My tour guide Ahmed is very hospitable, patient and considerate. When they heard that I wanted to know more about Islam they gave me a copy of the Quran in my own language for free! To me the staff here represent true Islamic spirit Facilities are great: drinking water dispenser is available on a hot summer day

Very beautiful masjid. Large space and very detailed architectural design. Very good maintenance. You have to be patient with the people Due to more crowds on Friday prayer, because take out your car from parking will take time.
Zeeshan K — Google review
Beautiful grand mosque, for up to 7,000 people. The entrance is free and they provide you appropriate Arabic clothes if you are not dressed according to their standards. There is a quick free tour as well. Definitely worth a visit while in Bahrain.

An absolute must when visiting Bahrain. Dress appropriately. We were given robes & scarves & enjoyed a free private tour by a volunteer. He was so informative & the interior is stunning. We were able to discreetly watch the call to midday prayers & the followers.
Ann P — Google review
Leaving the inside as a surprise as it is beautiful. One of the if not thee biggest mosque in the area. Even if you’re not Muslim I would still come check it out and explore.
Jadd K — Google review
An impressing mosque and great place to go. I had an official guide employed by the bahraini government who explained a lot of details. Although I have been to other mosques I got to know more about the religion and culture. Make sure that you are there with an official guide.

Beit Al Quran, located in the heart of Manama, is an elegant modern complex that boasts a remarkable collection of rare Qurans and Islamic artifacts. The site showcases ancient Qurans dating back to the 7th century, as well as early translations into European languages. In addition to its Quran collection, Beit Al Quran also features manuscripts, wood carvings, and exquisite examples of Islamic calligraphy.
The renovation is complete and it is open as of November 2024. Office hours are from Sunday to Wednesday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. Beit Al Quran is home to ancient manuscripts and Quran artifacts from thousands of years ago. If you’re interested in religion/history, come by to see. Unfortunately no photographs allowed inside anymore. Entry fee is 1 dinar. When you enter, there is a reception desk where you pay the admission fee. Parking is street parking and can be difficult to find a spot during the week.

A lovely museum that has a lot of Islamic religious history; mainly when it comes to the holy Qur’an. The place is very well decorated, and the different artifacts are well displayed across several floors. Walking between the floors is through ramps, making it very friendly for folks with wheelchair needs. Tickets are bought at the entrance by cash or card. As a general remark, clothing that covers the body is advised, in addition to head covering for women. Expect to spend 30 minutes onwards here.
Fahd ب — Google review
Really cool museum with SO many Qurans from different time periods. All the different exhibits were really interesting and well laid out. The architecture of the building itself is really cool and clean. If you enjoy history museums — add this to your list!
Sophia L — Google review
I'm sure it's beautiful. It looks beautiful on the outside but it will be closed from the 1st of July to the 31st of August 2025 for maintenance.
Sagiv B — Google review
REQUEST: This is a great place. There is a lot to learn about Islamic history here. Actually, I have never visited here. But I planned to visit on Friday, my day off. But it is closed on Friday. This is unacceptable. Because most people would like to visit here on Friday, their day off. So I would like to ask the authorities to think about keeping it open on Friday. Note: I have given it 1 star now. However, if I can ever visit or it opens on Fridays, I will edit it and give it 5 stars.
SHAHIDUL — Google review
Very beautiful museum, where you can find old copies of Quran from all over the world (except the new worlds such as America and Ocenia). There are copies of Quran from Europe too that were printed in Switzerland back in the 16th century. Amazing to know about this! The entrance costs 1 BD and on the left there is a small masjid where Muslims can pray. There is also wudu area.
Seyyid P — Google review
It was an interesting visit, you can see how the quran was preserved and written through the different timings, specially the section where western showed interest in translating the Quran into different languages just for the sake of sharing different culture and religion
Mohamad B — Google review
The place is very cosy and not very big. You can finish it in under 30 minutes depending on how detailed you want to be. It has a vast collection of Qurans from the very early 1st century of Islam up to modern copies. Don't miss it. Admission is free and donations are welcomed. The museum has a mosque attached to it. The only reason I gave it four stars because it does not have any interactive exhibits, also, you can't see any staff, most probably because the admission is free and they don't have enough funds.

Manama Souq Building is a bustling and lively market where you can find a wide array of goods such as food, clothing, traditional crafts, and household items. It's the perfect place to immerse yourself in the local culture and shop for spices, clothes, handmade items, and unique gifts like rugs and jewelry. The market also offers an opportunity to visit the impressive Al Fateh Grand Mosque with its stunning design and large dome.
The map location isn’t correct. It is more of avenues rather than an organized souq in other countries. Walk around and get lost.
R K — Google review
A good place to buy souvenirs and food. Parking is difficult though. The best thing about the souq is that they accept credit cards everywhere, no need to have local currency. However if you are willing to exchange currency, there is a change but I think the rate is not favourable. We had a delicious fresh juice for a very cheap price.

Manama Souq is the nice place to visit. You can experience a traditional Arab market in the north of Manama. You can get here clothes, Oud, electronics, jwellery, spices, handicrafts etc. It's also a must-see cultural hotspot with compelling sights, sounds and smells that blend to create one of the region's most enchanting urban attractions. Historical landmark
Bab Al Bahrain is a striking 20th-century building that houses numerous shops, cafes, and a bustling marketplace. Restored in 1945 and again in 1986 with intricate Islamic details, including beautiful Arabic calligraphy inscriptions and Quranic verses, it stands at the entrance to the central business district. Visitors can capture souvenir photos here and enjoy various activities such as exhibitions featuring popular products and handmade items.
It is an old souq and one of the most famous landmarks in Manama. It’s definitely a place to experience at least once. The best way to enjoy it is by parking your car nearby and walking through the market. Just keep in mind that it is very crowded in weekends …

🌟 Bab Al Bahrain – The Legacy Gate 🌟 In Manama’s heart, where stories breathe, Stands Bab Al Bahrain, in golden sheathe. A gateway grand, of stone and grace, Where old and new time interlace. This is the legacy of Bahrain’s soul, A timeless arch that makes you whole. Step inside — and feel the shift, Your heart will pause, your mind will lift. Yes… this is it — a sudden change, The world around feels new, yet strange. Souqs whisper spice, oud scents arise, Colors dance beneath desert skies. Footsteps echo through market lanes, Carrying joy, and no mundane. History sleeps in arches wide, While culture wakes with every stride. A perfect blend of soul and scene — Timeless charm in Bahrain's serene. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must-visit for heart, lens, and soul.
Prasadh M — Google review
I visited in the mid afternoon of Tuesday so most of the stalls are closed. It's cozy in there, and you can see there are so many souvenir shops and authentic local products. There is a taxi waiting area outside, and the drivers resting there are so friendly, one even gave me a cup of cold water. I will try to visit at night time for a different vibe
Dianne C — Google review
Bab Al Bahrain is a true cultural landmark and one of the most fascinating places to visit in Manama. Built in 1949, this historical gateway once stood at the waterfront and has since become the symbolic entrance to the Manama Souq. The architecture beautifully blends Bahraini heritage with Islamic design, featuring graceful arches, geometric details, and a layout that feels both timeless and welcoming. The area around Bab Al Bahrain is always lively, filled with local shops, cafés, and vendors selling everything from traditional handicrafts and spices to textiles, gold, and perfumes. It’s an incredible spot to experience authentic Bahraini culture, interact with friendly shopkeepers, and explore narrow alleyways that reveal new surprises at every turn. The souq itself feels like a step back in time, offering a genuine sense of local life while still being comfortable and accessible to visitors. Many people highlight how well-located Bab Al Bahrain is—right in the heart of old Manama and close to restaurants, public transport, and other landmarks. The signage around the area is clear enough to guide visitors through the main market, and the overall atmosphere is safe and inviting for tourists. It can get quite busy, especially on weekends, so visiting early in the morning or later in the evening is the best way to enjoy it peacefully. Bargaining is common here, and while some prices are aimed at tourists, polite negotiation usually leads to a fair deal. Bab Al Bahrain is not just a place to shop; it’s an experience that captures the soul of Bahrain. The mix of history, architecture, and daily life makes it a must-visit for anyone wanting to understand the country’s rich heritage and warm hospitality.
Almohannad A — Google review

I loved walking through the lanes, taking in the sights, sounds, and aromas, every corner has its own charm. If you ever visit Bahrain, don’t miss this spot! Check out the photos and videos to truly feel the vibe - it’s an experience best seen and felt.

Bab Al Bahrain is where the heart of Manama truly beats. I loved walking through its lively lanes filled with the scent of spices, the sound of shopkeepers calling out, and the swirl of colors from traditional fabrics and gold displays. The area around the historic gate blends old world charm with everyday Bahraini life, where modern cafes meet age old souks. It’s not just a landmark but a living experience, and every turn reveals a story, a smile, or a glimpse into the island’s heritage. A perfect place to feel the rhythm of local life.

I visited the Bahrain Trade Center during my recent trip to Manama and was impressed by its modern architecture and stunning views of the city. The building's unique design and LED light display at night are definitely worth seeing. Although it's primarily a business hub, the Trade Center offers a few attractions for tourists, including a viewing deck on the 28th floor with panoramic views of the city. The Bahrain World Trade Center is a striking architectural complex in Manama, Bahrain, standing at 240 meters with 50 floors. Completed in 2008 and designed by Atkins, it holds the distinction of being the first skyscraper globally to incorporate wind turbines into its design. Alongside its innovative features, the complex houses a ground-floor shopping mall offering various dining options, adding convenience and vibrancy to its impressive stature.

The Bahrain World Trade Center stands tall and iconic in Manama’s skyline. Completed in 2008, it’s a 50-floor twin tower complex designed by the multinational architectural firm Atkins. What sets it apart? Innovative integration of wind turbines into its design, making a bold statement about sustainable energy. Sail-shaped towers, connected by bridges, evoke the traditional Arabian dhow. Recognized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat as one of the 50 most influential tall buildings of the last 50 years The Bahrain World Trade Center (BWTC), a striking twin tower complex in Manama, Bahrain, stands 240 meters (787 feet) tall. Designed by the multinational architectural firm Atkins, it was completed in 2008 and holds the distinction of being the world’s first skyscraper to integrate wind turbines into its design1. These innovative turbines, developed and installed by the Danish company Norwin A/S, are seamlessly integrated into the structure. Here are some fascinating details: Three Skybridges: The two towers are connected by three skybridges, each housing a 225 kW wind turbine. In total, they contribute 675 kW of wind power capacity. Optimal Wind Flow: The sail-shaped buildings on either side are strategically designed to funnel wind through the gap, ensuring accelerated wind flow through the turbines. Wind tunnel tests confirmed that this unique configuration maximizes electricity generation. Sustainable Power: The wind turbines are expected to provide 11% to 15% of the towers’ total power consumption, equivalent to lighting approximately 300 homes, 258 hospitals, 17 industrial plants, and 33 car engines1. In summary, the Bahrain World Trade Center combines architectural elegance with sustainable energy solutions, making it a remarkable landmark in Bahrain’s skyline! 🏙️🌬️ The wind turbines integrated into the Bahrain World Trade Center generate a total of 675 kilowatts (kW) of wind power capacity. These turbines are strategically positioned on the three skybridges connecting the twin towers. Their innovative design allows them to harness the strong winds that flow through the gap between the sail-shaped buildings. As a result, they contribute approximately 11% to 15% of the towers’ total power consumption, which is equivalent to lighting around 300 homes, 258 hospitals, 17 industrial plants, and 33 car engines.💡

With minimum places to see in Bahrain, the WTC is one of those iconic places. It is definitely an architectural piece of work but for a photographic perspective I would recommend to visit some place nearby to get better angles. It’s a mall cum twin tower that hosts only premium/luxury brands.

Market
The Avenues is a stylish shopping arcade in Bahrain, featuring 130 stores and eateries with a city-street theme. It stands out as the only mall in Bahrain that gives the illusion of being outdoors while indoors. The stunning Bahrain Bay offers a picturesque backdrop for leisurely walks and selfies, especially during cooler months. This popular mall can get quite busy, making it perfect for activities like people-watching, seaside strolls, or window-shopping.
The Avenues is a large, beautifully constructed area that blends dining, shopping, and entertainment in one breathtaking setting. The diverse range of stores and eateries accommodates all interests and preferences, and the open and airy architectural design provides for a pleasant experience. It is the perfect spot to relax and take in the lively scene because of the distinctive beauty that the waterfront views bring. Particularly at night. Walking along the bay at sunset is quite stunning, and the mall boasts a lovely view of the waterfront. A calm and soothing ambiance is produced by the lights reflecting off the lake. It's the ideal location for dining, shopping, and taking in the breathtaking sunset views. If Bahrain is where you are, place is definitely worth a visit for its vibe and scenery!

The Avenues Mall Manama – A beautifully designed mall with a unique seaside setting. It features cafes and restaurants along the waterfront, a pleasant walkway, and even a marina with boat access where you can take a fantastic trip to Bahrain Bay. Inside, you’ll find plenty of special dining options, and recently a Lulu Hypermarket was added, making it even more convenient and enjoyable.

The Avenues Mall is more than just a shopping center; it’s a destination that offers a luxurious and immersive retail experience. Whether you’re looking for the latest fashion, exquisite dining, or simply a place to stroll and enjoy the ambiance, The Avenues delivers it all.

The Avenues is a good mall. I think it's the most famous one in Bahrain. I enjoyed walking inside the mall. There are a lot of palm trees planted around, and it's a good vibe. You feel like it belongs there, and I enjoyed it. There's a lot of shops and restaurants, and I ate some pizzas and had some Starbucks. It was a really good time.
Kareeem — Google review
The Avenues Mall in Bahrain is a beautiful and spacious waterfront mall — perfect for shopping, dining, and relaxing. Be ready for quite a bit of walking, as the mall stretches along the bay, but there are paid vehicle services available (around 2.5 BHD for a drop-off and about 6 BHD for a full 30-minute tour). There’s also a LuLu Hypermarket inside the mall, which provides free drop-off and pick-up service, making it really convenient. I especially liked the mall’s open design with plenty of natural sunlight — it gives the place a bright and airy feel. Another highlight is the water taxi near Gate 1, offering a nice view of the waterfront. It’s especially popular around sunset, so it can get a bit crowded then. Overall, a great place to spend time with family or friends — well-organized, clean, and lively.

Avenues Mall Review New, large, and upscale mall with a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Spacious layout makes for long walks, which can be pleasant but also tiring. Parking is available but somewhat inconvenient, especially during busy times.
Roman K — Google review
The Avenues Bahrain is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable destinations in the Kingdom. What makes it stand out is the amazing waterfront location — walking along the seaside, especially during the evening, creates a relaxing and vibrant atmosphere. Inside, the mall is spacious, clean, and very well designed with plenty of natural light. There’s a great mix of shops, from international brands to unique local stores. Whether you want to shop, grab a coffee, or enjoy a delicious meal with a view, you’ll always find a good option. The variety of restaurants by the marina is especially impressive, making it a perfect spot for families and friends. There are also fun indoor and outdoor attractions, including kids’ play areas and seasonal events that keep the place lively all year round. Parking is easy and well-organized, and staff around the mall are friendly and helpful. Overall, The Avenues Bahrain offers a wonderful lifestyle experience — not just a place to shop, but a destination to enjoy time and create memories. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists! 🌊🛍️✨

Pedal boating was just amazing with our kids. Indoor is perfect for kids. So many options for indoor games for kids. It has an indoor restaurant where they serve good coffee Outdoor too many options of restaurants to purchase. Do visit for great family adventures. Lot of activities for kids take place during weekends. Parking available. Staff were nice & well informed

A fun place for families and kids, with a nice mix of rides. There’s something for all age groups—from gentle rides for little ones to more thrilling ones for older kids and teens. The area is clean, and the staff are helpful. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, so visiting on a weekday is more relaxing. Food stalls and seating areas are available, making it easy to spend a few hours here. A good spot for a casual day out with family or friends.

Adhari Park in Manama is a great spot for family fun, offering a mix of indoor and outdoor rides, games, and food options. It’s perfect for kids and enjoyable for adults too. Some rides may need maintenance, but overall, it’s a fun and lively place to spend an evening.

Only the Outdoor activities entrance fee is 0.500 files per adult. For New Card BD 1.00 additional charges
Gurpreet S — Google review
Has both outdoor and indoor activities. There was a package of about 7BD which allows 3 rounds of each activity. The rides are limited and does not provide much activities for younger kids; so if you are coming with a family of different ages, it may be a challenge. One more thing, I don’t think the staff has any training on guest interaction . From the time you come to the reception, a rather cold, robotic person explains a list of pricing which just goes over your head. It would be better to have notices on pricing. The ride attendants have no business serving customers - who are mostly young people. There was zero warmth and most looked like they would rather be somewhere else! A fun park should have the right ambience- and getting the right staff and training them to serve and create a fun environment is a priority. Get your recruitment process right. When I was checking on height limit for my child to enter the ride, the staff did not even look at me and said, ‘No!’ When I told him that I do respect the security decision but he could at least say it politely, he simply barked back at me and repeated ‘No’, when I was not even disputing it. One exception was the staff at the Japan Coast who seemed genuinely interested in keeping his customers happy. Overall ok place to go, if they will improve on customer service!
Mo F — Google review
I went there during a public holiday, the place is big, clean and lovely. Most of the games are for people above 140 cm in height. so my children didn't get a chance to play, but there is a play area for kids with electronic games. The fees was 0.500 fils per person because of the festival, then you can charge your card with any amount.

La Fontaine Restaurant is located within the La Fontaine Centre for Contemporary Art & Spa, housed in a historic 150-year-old building. The center features contemporary art galleries, an exclusive spa, and a Pilates/dance studio for relaxation. Additionally, there's an open-air amphitheater and a fine-dining restaurant offering European cuisine. The restaurant is set in a beautifully restored building that combines antique Bahraini architecture with French design, creating a tranquil oasis in the bustling Manama souk.
I had the pleasure of visiting La Fontaine for the first time for a movie night, and it truly exceeded all expectations. From the seamless reservation process to the thoughtfully curated menu, everything was perfect. Although there were some dishes on the menu I didn’t eat, the staff was incredibly accommodating and made adjustments with ease, The service was warm and attentive, creating an atmosphere that felt both personal and inviting. We were there to celebrate a dear friend's birthday, and the chef’s thoughtful gesture of offering a complimentary cake made the evening feel even more special. The setting itself was stunning—especially in the summer, with its serene charm—but I can only imagine how magical it must be in the winter, with the cozy, intimate ambiance. La Fontaine isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience that makes you feel truly cared for. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Reem R — Google review
Located in the heart of Manama, La Fontaine Center of Contemporary Art is a historical monument dating back over 150 years. The compound is an old Bahraini house that has been completely restored and renovated by French artist Jean Marc Sinan. The unique property captures the grand essence of a European chateau, while retaining the charm of authentic Gulf Islamic architecture. The vast terrace of their fine dining restaurant can seat up to 250 guests for special events like movie nights and art exhibition dinners and with the central fountain, still manages a peaceful and tranquil experience. The food menu has Mediterranean and Italian influences along with a few Asian dishes. The current art exhibition is “A Thousand Fragments” by Iris Morata. Iris's latest collection transforms wood's natural imperfections into profound reflections on life's complexities. Each piece (made out of small wood squares) invites you to shift your perspective, uncovering hidden depth and emotion as you walk around each piece. As with all fine dining, the restaurant service was top notch. The art gallery closes at around dinner time but the staff was kind enough to open the gallery for viewing. Out of all the food sampled, the Pan-seared Norwegian Salmon, Thai Sizzling Beef, and La Fontaine Chocolate Fondant were the favorites that stole the show! Overall, great for a celebration with friends or a fancy date night! =========================== Crispy Fried Calamari & Fried Lemon Slices served with Lemon Aioli Pan-seared Norwegian Salmon with Mashed Potatoes, Cherry Tomatoes, served with Olive Oil dressing Pan-seared Duck breast with thinly cut vegetables, basil & mashed potatoes, served with Star Anise sauce Thai Sizzling Beef: Stir-fried Angus Beef in Oyster Sauce & Vegetables served on a sizzling plate with Jasmin rice La Fontaine Chocolate Fondant: Baked Chocolate Fondant served with Freshly made Vanilla Ice Cream & Chocolate Sauce

The building is amazing. All art rooms were closed on Thursday night. Only 1 employee to manage the entire restaurant, tske order serve and make drinks, etc, he may have been the cooking too... We were 10 guests, everybody was disappointed for the price. The food was average, very small portions, we had steaks with peppercorns sauce, we got a spoonful of sauce and a very small portion of fries, no veggies and poor presentation in plate... the steaks were not good. Clam Pastas was tasteless, and 75% of clams were still closed and not properly prepared. Calamari were so overcooked that it was almost burnt. Very Disappointing experience. The food used to be so good. The poor employee was trying his best to provide good service, but he was overloaded.

It is a beautiful place, but I felt service was lacking ... they were not ready although I had a reservation. Obviously the server was new. I hoped things are more controlled, especially during Covid. Did not feel all that safe and comfortable. However, my main course was very good. Drinks and salad and soups were not impressive. Appetizers were good. Overall, good, but it did not meet my expectation.

It is often visited as part of day tours that include other attractions like the Bahrain National Museum and Al Fateh Grand Mosque.
Welcome to Arad Fort! One of Bahrain’s most historic landmarks, this 15th-century fortress was built to defend the island from invaders. Strategically located near the sea, it provided an excellent vantage point to monitor enemy movements. Its thick walls, watchtowers, and traditional Bahraini architecture showcase the brilliance of ancient military design. One of few forts in Bahrain worth visiting. The fort is quite small, yet has good views to the sea. There are some old stores and boats on-site, too. Maintain care when you walk inside the fort as the land is sandy at times and rocky at others. Tickets are bought at the entrance by cash or card, and are priced at 1 BHD. They have ample parking outside. Expect to spend no more than 30 minutes. The fort is very close to a shopping mall and a park.

I enjoyed seeing Arad Fort but there isn't much to see. Essentially there is one curator that sits near the parking lot and you can walk through the fort as you wish. I spent about 30-45 minutes here and saw everything. I also had the Fort to myself the entire time which was pretty cool. There isn't much overhead cover here so I recommend bringing your own water, sunscreen, and a hat. Parking is close to the fort as well, maybe 50m away. The entrance is a nice spot for pictures in the afternoon.

Al Khamis Mosque, located in Manama, Bahrain, is an 11th-century mosque with significant historical and architectural importance. It is the first mosque built outside the Arabian Peninsula and features two minarets, one of which dates back to 1085. Despite being demolished over time, it has been renovated multiple times and remains a crucial archaeological landmark in Bahrain. The mosque also served as a venue for religious rituals and educational activities.
A nice, well-organized historical mosque. It’s not a big place you will spend half an hour maximum. There is a small museum but staff was not there when I was visiting. No tickets for entry it’s totally free!

Al Khamis Mosque is one of the first mosques in Bahrain. Open between 12 and 5 o'clock. There are open and closed areas. In open areas, some sections are covered with glass. There is no written explanation as to why this is so. But later we learned that it was built that way because it was a cemetery. Since the mosque area was under restoration, it was forbidden to go near it. The environment was quiet and calm. Entrance was free. You can access detailed historical information in the closed area.

One of the best historical landmarks in Bahrain , a must visit tourist place , its the oldest Mosque in Bahrain and one of the best tourist locations. A must visit for photography lovers to capture some nice historical architecture.Such a beautiful, historic gem in the middle of Bahrain. We went during the day and it was hot and humid and we were the only people there. We didn’t spend more than 20 minutes there but we absolutely loved it.
Munawwar K — Google review
From an information plaque in the 'visitor center'. "The Al-Khamis mosque is the oldest extant mosque in Bahrain, and as such has a very special identity on the islands. The buildings we see today dates largely from the 12th to 13th centuries CE, tradition claims the original mosque was built in the early 8th century CE. The area in which the mosque stands is Bilad al-Qadim, which translates as "The Old Town" or "The Old Country", and history and archaeology show that people have been living here since at least the 8th Century CE." This is a nice site that has three main sections, first the entrance which hosts a small visitor centre where you can see aerial photos of the old town, gravestones, artefacts, old coins, gems, pearls etc. Next is a large open space where you can see remains of the old structures, a shrine (which has sadly collapsed) and then the Mosque itself. The pavement has a very gently slope so getting around is easy and the site can be completed by wheelchair or buggy (not including inside the mosque). The entire site is really well maintained and spotlessly clean. There are two minarets that you can enter and climb to see out of the windows but these are very narrow and small so adults may struggle getting in. Overall its a very enjoyable site and well worth a visit if you have never been before. Entrance is free as is parking, there are toilets on site and you don't need to either wear a head covering for women and shorts are OK for men. Please be aware that there is a 3 meter deep well close to the footpath that is not fenced off, something to bear in mind if you have young children that like to run ahead. Great for photography.

Very ancient masque is waiting for you to visit and enjoy your trip in Bahrain, but unfortunately we were not allowed inside by the security guards, they told us that today is Friday and the masque is closed for visitors after 4 pm while normally it remain open up to 5 pm, we took just few clicks from outside of the boundary wall. Do vhr before you go there.

A little piece of history in the middle of the modern day Bahrain. Believed to be the oldest mosque in Bahrain , it is preserved quite well. There is a visitors center, where more information about the Mosque and about the era can be found with lots of exhibits from the Khamis Mosque excavation along with footnotes as to what they represent and their significance in both Arabic and English. There is also an audio device which visitors can play in order to get an idea about the Mosque and the era. An interactive device which shows you the trade routes in the historic era is also found here. Apparently there is a guide present in the visitors section but was disappointing as he did not even bother to show around and explain. After existing the visitors center, it will lead you to the main Mosque section where you can explore it. You can also climb the minaret to get an Arial view. Suggest to visit in winter or after sunset at summer. It is a shame that not a lot of people visit this Mosque and that it is not promoted much.

The Bahrain National Theater is a stunning architectural marvel located next to the National Museum. Its design pays homage to local traditions, with interwoven aluminum strips in the roof resembling traditional homes and an auditorium interior representing the sea, complete with 1001 seats as a nod to The Thousand and One Nights. Visitors can enjoy a variety of shows from classical music to contemporary performances or simply admire the unique architecture.
Don Quixote at Bahrain National Theatre was an unforgettable experience! ✨ The organization was simply outstanding, smooth entry, well managed seating, and every detail carefully planned. As for the performance, it was absolutely mesmerizing! The dancers delivered breathtaking performances, the costumes were stunning, and the live music added a magical touch to the atmosphere. The humor was delightful. A truly elegant and enchanting evening, I can’t wait for more incredible performances in the future!

One of the most beautiful theatres in the world. I have travelled and been to theatres this is by far the best in my view. Beautiful. One advice do take a jacket or shawl even in the summer the AC is way too cold inside.

Bahrain National Theater is an amazing place! For me it is an architectural masterpiece! In the evening, it seems as if this building is floating on the waves. The interior refers to wooden fishing boats. The shapes of balconies, armchairs, balustrades... remind me of musical instruments. The play of light is amazing! The only minus - a very expensive cafe.

The Bahrain National Theatre is always a treat to visit, and this Ramadan, it felt even more special with the beautiful display of Japanese artwork. The fusion of cultures, set against the theatre’s stunning architecture and peaceful waterfront views, made for a truly unique experience. Whether it’s performances or exhibitions, this place never disappoints—it’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates art and culture in Bahrain.

The Bahrain National Theatre is one of those places that feels special from the moment you arrive. The location is beautiful, right on the waterfront, with the building’s modern architecture reflecting in the water at night. Inside, the main hall is spacious and comfortable, with excellent acoustics that make performances feel immersive whether you’re sitting close to the stage or further back. They host a variety of events – from international plays and concerts to cultural performances – so it’s worth checking the calendar ahead of time. Parking is available nearby, and the area feels safe and easy to navigate. A great spot to enjoy the arts in Bahrain.

City Centre Bahrain is a bustling shopping destination located in the heart of Bahrain. It's one of the largest and most popular malls in the country, offering a wide array of stores, kids activities, dining options, and a cinema. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the mall and exploring both international and local brands. The vibrant atmosphere attracts a lively crowd, especially on weekends. Additionally, City Centre Bahrain provides an opportunity to catch a movie with friends at its cinema complex.
One of my favourite shopping centres in Bahrain. Many brands under one roof. Electronics, clothing, shoes groceries you name it.. Great price too. Have local buses come from many places.. but lack of taxi stand.. May be i couldn't find the taxi stand but should be a taxi stand. Great food court and good restaurants operating in the mall.

Visited City Centre Bahrain in 2023 with my family, and it was a wonderful experience! This modern and spacious mall offers everything under one roof — from international fashion brands, electronics, and groceries to a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. The ambiance is lively, and the kids’ entertainment areas make it an ideal spot for families. We truly enjoyed our time shopping, dining, and simply walking around the beautifully designed interior. Definitely one of the top shopping destinations in Bahrain — clean, well-maintained, and full of life!
Ayaz H — Google review
I visit Bahrain City Center nearly every other day to walk around and enjoy a coffee. Over the weekend I go with the family as well. It is a pleasant mall with a nice mix of stores, cafes and restaurants. However, I have noticed recently that there are no public seating areas, unless it is in a Cafe or restaurant. Only common seating areas are by the exits to the parking lots. The mall is visited daily by people of all ages and some need to rest or wait for their families while they shop. Seating was available at sometimes. However, all spaces have been replaced by Kiosks which probably generate income, elderly guests on the other hand need to rest every now and then. May I suggest to consider installing scattered seating benches around the mall to complete exceptional shopping experienced. I will post three pictures for empty spaces (to show a few) followed by options of indoor seating designs to install them attached to the ground to avoid any vandalism that may occur.

An integrated complex in the literal sense, there are several famous brands - many and varied restaurants - there are many shops for entertainment - the parking lots are very excellent and there are additional parkings as well

City Centre Bahrain is one of the most vibrant and dynamic malls in the Kingdom, offering everything you need under one roof. The shopping options are fantastic — from high-end fashion brands to everyday essentials — making it a great place for both casual browsing and serious shopping. The dining choices are equally impressive, with a wide range of cafés and restaurants to suit every taste. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, you’ll always find something delicious. What truly makes City Centre Bahrain stand out is its entertainment variety. VOX Cinemas, the family attractions, and the overall lively atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a full day out. The mall is well-organized, spacious, and easy to navigate, with plenty of parking available. Staff are helpful, security is visible, and cleanliness is always well maintained — which adds to the comfortable experience. City Centre Bahrain continues to be a favorite destination for families, shoppers, and tourists alike. A must-visit for fun, shopping, and memorable moments! 🛍️🍿✨

This is Almoayyed Tower offers retail space covering its 'Mall' which encompasses the ground and mezzanine floors and has a separate entrance on the north side of the structure. The building has booster antennas from all the major telecom providers in Bahrain, meaning that signal is not lost whilst in one of the 6 elevators. The 43rd floor offers space for antennas: given Almoayyed Tower's large size relative to all other buildings in the Al Seef District, it has been a hub for telecom providers to place their antennas on Almoayyed Tower to give better reception to the rest of Manama.

The Arabesque Art Gallery, a renowned establishment in Bahrain for over four decades, is a treasure trove of antique Middle Eastern art. Visitors can admire 19th century lithographs by David Roberts and vibrant paintings by Wahab Al Kooheji depicting everyday life in Bahrain. The gallery also boasts ancient Arabian maps and an extensive collection of silkscreens, prints, and original artworks available for purchase. Additionally, the gallery offers custom framing services at reasonable prices.
Absolutely the BEST place to get anything framed. Zero pressure, fantastic selection, impeccable work and the years of experience that produce gallery worthy items. Also the gallery of Mr and Mrs Kooheji’s work is beautiful! Oh, the pricing? Very affordable and less than what you have been paying. Two locations makes it super convenient. Don’t go anywhere else!
Helen B — Google review
Very positive experience, and beyond happily surprised by his prices for custom framing. After I selected my border and frame for my oil, he gave me the price, I actually had to ask for something more expensive. I'm so used to having to beg for a discount at another framer, this was not the case in Arabesque. 4 days later, my painting was complete, it was perfect. I will highly recommend. His gallery is very impressive, many pieces feature his father's work, a well known artist in Bahrain.

To be honest I was planning on eating at Emmawash but sat here. I only realized after I ordered that I was not that the originally intended restaurant. But wow the food here is amazing. I started off ordering a large pot of Karak tea. I think I was only able to drink about half the pot because it was so much but it was very nice taste. For the main course I ordered Gulf Prawns with Golden Saffron Sauce and Rice. This sauce was one of the best sauce I have eaten in my life, not sure what they put in it but definitely butter. Absolutely amazing and I could not stop raving about this sauce to my girlfriend. Price was a bit high but it was worth it. Amazing place and glad I accidentally sat here.

the food (traditional breakfast, fresh squeezed juices and Moroccan tea) is very good. Served in an interesting way. Waiters and kitchen work smoothly. The boss of table allocation as well. However, we waited for almost half an hour behind the table! There is only one person cleaning the tables in peak traffic and very slow! We were standing while 6 tables were left unclean! The place is nice - close to shops, handicraft stands. Necessarily service to improve! We went there again in January 2022. The service has improved a lot. Breakfast still tasty, lemonades delicious and good coffee :-)

We ordered the breakfast platter that contained a selection of dishes including spiced potatoes, scrambled eggs and tomato, chickpea chutney, falafel, balaleet (famous breakfast dish all over the Gulf with sweetened vermicelli and a hint of rose water topped with a fried egg) as well as Bahraini Kabab (similar to Indian Pakora). All presented in traditional metal bowels. The Karak tea also famous around the gulf and India is a rich sweetened milk tea with cardamom and saffron. The lemon mint drink was refreshing and nicely balanced. The food was tasty particularly the potatoes, foul and falafel. The meal was heavy and sets you up well for a day of walking around the Souq. The service was efficient but not memorable and given the price tag I think there are more options worth trying throughout the

Beautiful space in the heart of the city. 300Fils per person for entrance, plenty of on site parking. The park is filled with trees and birds and for a moment you lose yourself and forget you are in the heart of the city. Wonderfully well maintained and the ponds have beautiful swans. The play park is a great spot for kids and even has a small zip line.

This is a small park with a small waterbody inside . Well maintained . Nice place to come in evening with family and have a stroll. There are ducks, fish and birds, with a play area for kids . There is a minimal entry free but it’s very welcoming and comforting place to go.

A breath of fresh air — a true nature escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It felt amazing to be surrounded by lush greenery and water features. There were even ducks swimming in the pond, waiting hopefully for passersby to toss them some dried bread — such a delightful surprise! Although it was a bit of a challenge to find, it was absolutely worth it. The entrance fee is just 300 fils (cash or BenefitPay accepted), and the peaceful atmosphere makes it well worth revisiting. There's also a small café in the middle if you'd like a snack, or you can enjoy a picnic on the grass. Highly recommend for a relaxing day out.

The Water Garden in Manama offers families a refreshing escape within the city. With its expansive walkways surrounded by lush greenery and serene ponds hosting elegant swans and ducks, it's a picturesque retreat. The spacious and secure kids' area ensures little ones have a blast in a safe environment. While the washrooms are generally clean, occasional intermediate cleaning could enhance the experience. Overall, it's a great spot for families to unwind and reconnect amidst nature without leaving the city. A cafeteria also here. Small amount of entry fees here.

Honestly, I have no idea what the hype is about. The place felt completely empty, boring, and honestly… kinda depressing. Add the lovely combo of heat and humidity, and congratulations — you’ve just unlocked the most uncomfortable experience possible. Walking around felt less like sightseeing and more like surviving. Maybe — just maybe — this place looks decent in winter, but in this weather? Absolutely no way. Zero chance I’d ever come back unless the temperature drops by 20 degrees and someone pays me to try again.
KHALED — Google review
This place is the most happening place in Bahrain. Food courts, coffee shop, cruz, boats, ice cream truck, food trucks, jogging track, walking aisle and plenty of parking. What else do you want in life? One more thing: be careful about Eid traffic as returning is always difficult due to crushing traffic so plan early to leave if there is major public holiday including new year/christmas nights.

A peaceful and welcoming place of worship. Sacred Heart Catholic Church has become a spiritual home for me here in Manama. Every time I step into the church, there's an overwhelming sense of peace and calm. The multilingual Masses reflect how beautifully diverse and inclusive the community is—whether it's English, Malayalam, Tagalog, or Arabic, everyone is made to feel welcome. The church compound is spacious, well-maintained, and always buzzing with life, especially during major feasts and events. I also appreciate how well-organized everything is, from the liturgies to the community programs. If you're looking for a place to pray, reflect, or just feel connected, I highly recommend visiting Sacred Heart. It’s not just a church—it’s a true community.

Nestled in the vibrant area of Hoora, Mohammed Noor Bukhari Restaurant is a beloved gem that showcases the rich flavors of traditional Arabian cuisine. Renowned for its exceptional rice dishes and grilled specialties, this eatery attracts both locals and expats alike. While it boasts multiple branches, the Exhibition Road location stands out as a favorite among patrons who rave about its food quality. Although the ambiance may not be ideal for family gatherings, it's an excellent spot to enjoy a meal with friends.
The restaurant is good spot for traditional arabic cuisine. The menu serves mainly grilled chicken (mandi, on rock, roatasery..etc) along with 4 differently cooked rice and tomato spicy sauce. There are many vegetable side dishes (okra, mix vegetables, egg plant and salads). Soft drinks (cola) and water are available

One of the oldest restaurants in bahrain we get Arabic food specialized in Mandi,Bukhari with charcoal Grilled chicken or machine grilled chicken. Iam a spicy 🔥 lover 😋 But like a Arabic dish and different taste this is okay with non spicy chicken 😋 May be non spicy food lovers like this taste much better than me. In the upper floor we can sit on floor and enjoy your food.I choose upper floor very neat and clean. Down floor we have both facilities like table service and also the floor. From counter we can choose which type rice we should order.counter there is a demo pack. Serving food hot and fresh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not expensive Pocket friendly ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very neat and clean ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick serving ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rice taste ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chicken taste and flavor ⭐⭐⭐

I haven’t been here for years I guess and they completely looks different from the upper floor. I always crave for them as they have the cheapest and tastiest biryani, grilled chicken and salad ohh I love their salad. This has been one of the most famous, old restaurant here in Bahrain and they have different branch too inside the Kingdom. If you are foreigner don’t miss the chance to try their food. Also try to eat, seating on the floor to add to your food experience. The interior been change for more room to their customers but still they have dedicated some areas like the same. Always freshly grilled and cook. Always pack during lunch time and weekend so to have good experience at peace come during weekdays night. Just a note they only accept cash here. Parking is limited too. Enjoy

One of the older restaurants that serve Biriyani, Bokhari, Mandi etc. The one on Exhibitions Ave I believe is one of the older if not the oldest one in Bahrain. Good tasting chicken and rice. They have family seating upstairs and you can either sit on the floor or at a table. My wife prefers Al Shoala but I'm more of a Mohammed Noor fan. The rotisserie chicken is juicy with a nice flavor. Would definitely recommend for a decent budget friendly meal. The place is a bit old but fairly clean, the staff are always friendly and attentive but they can get a bit distracted when really busy. Good choices of rice but get there early as like a lot places they will run out of certain rice options after the main meal time rushes.

Each morning, this vibrant market comes alive with local fishermen showcasing their fresh catches, while the sections dedicated to meat and produce buzz with activity. The friendly Bahraini locals are always eager to share a cup of chai karak and offer you great deals on their goods. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the affordability and freshness of the fruits and vegetables available here.

This place is located in the heart of Manama. It is behind the Lulu Complex a hundred meters from the main Manama bus terminal. The market is surrounded by car parks. Every thing is fresh and cheap. Sometimes you need to negotiate prices with sellers. Surely, you will get out of the market with a bargain or more.

Central Market Bahrain / Manama Central Market Presumably a 40 year old marketplace mainly offering local and imported fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, seafood, groceries. However you also you find shops selling work tools, stationery/office supplies and household items. It is worth buying in small quantities and bulk from the central market rather than buying from supermarkets which is considerably costly. The place is busy always on weekdays and its expected more on weekends where its a mixed crowd of all nationalities. Don't go for the cleanliness of this place though it isn't that bad. Parking could be an issue, so its preferable to come early morning on weekdays & weekends.

Best place to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Prices are unbelievably reasonable compared to what you pay in big supermarkets. This is worth going each week if you have good consumption of fruits and vegetables and have better storage space. Lot of shops and variety of items to choose from. Gold Souq in Manama is a must-visit if you’re into jewelry or just want to experience Bahrain’s traditional market atmosphere. There are plenty of shops offering beautiful gold, pearls, and diamonds - you can find good designs and prices if you’re willing to bargain a little. The Gold Souq in Manama, Bahrain, is a paradise for gold and jewelry lovers. Almost all leading jewelers have a presence here, including many well-known international brands from Kerala, India. The variety of designs, from traditional to modern, is impressive, making it a great place for those looking to buy gold, diamonds, or other precious ornaments. However, one of the main challenges is parking, which can be quite difficult, especially during peak hours. It’s best to visit during off-peak times or use public transport if possible. Despite this, the experience of exploring the souq, with its glittering displays and competitive prices, makes it worth the trip. Great Musjid that offer five time prayer, Jummah salah with English kuthbah. The Imaam is very welcoming and at times after Salaah, he’d make himself available to do a Q&A session.

SUBHAN ALLAH, Listening to the khutba in both English and Arabic is such a great experience. The Imam has a really impactful way of delivering his message, making it easy to connect with. Plus, after the Juma prayer, there's a Q&A session, which is a great opportunity to learn even more.

Nestled in the heart of Manama, the Sail Monument stands as a stunning tribute to Bahrain's rich heritage in pearl diving, one of its most vital industries. This striking white sculpture resembles two dhow sails enveloping a pearl and is strategically located near the Sheikh Isa Bin Sulman Causeway, surrounded by hotels and diplomatic buildings. By day, it captivates with its elegant design, but when night falls, it transforms into an enchanting sight illuminated against the city skyline.
Manama's Sail Monument. The Sail Monument is a monument honoring pearl diving, one of Bahrain's most significant industries. It is bordered by hotels, business establishments, banks, and other diplomatic structures and faces out over the Sheikh Isa Bin Sulman Causeway. I just visited your store at 9 : 40 pm, and there was an announcement that you will closed in 15 mins. Your staff Name Reada was very rude and takling in bad attitude and saying we are closed. Even though it was 15 mins still to get store closed. I talk to the store incharge And made the complaint against her. Very bad customer service experience. Hope my message will be taken as positively.

The shop is somewhat small and difficult to maneuver around, especially when they are unpacking stock. The clothes I bought here are not great quality though, once in the washing machine and many items have stitching coming lose. I don't have the time or the money to go and return items. Considering I will have to sit and fix everything myself, I am unimpressed with this brand and will not be returning anytime soon.

This is a good place to have a nice movie experience. But I want to emphasize following issue which I experienced today. Their stair lighting (red color) during the movie is actually disturbing the dark scenes of the movie. That red light is reflecting to the canvas. They need to reduce the brightness of that light or do something better to eliminate this issue. I informed this to the supervisor as well.
