History Museums
The Bahrain National Museum is a celebration of the history and civilizations of Bahrain, showcasing contemporary artworks, ancient burial mounds, and archaeological pieces dating back 5,000 years. Spanning almost 28,000 sqm, with two buildings covering 20,000 sqm of floor space, the museum offers a comprehensive look at Bahrain's past and present. Visitors can explore exhibits on pearl diving, traditional architecture, handicrafts, ancient manuscripts including copies of the Quran, pottery and coins.
Visited the Bahrain National Museum, and it was such a fascinating experience. The place beautifully captures the country’s rich history and culture. What really amazed me were the exhibits from the Dilmun civilization - especially the ancient burial mounds, pottery, and ornaments that date back thousands of years. Seeing how advanced and artistic that civilization was left me in awe. The museum is well-organized, easy to explore, and gives a real sense of how deep Bahrain’s roots go. A must-visit if you want to understand the soul of this island nation.
Dr. R — Google review
Nice enough museum but lots of work going on so it will greet bigger and better I am sure. I was trying to find the aerial pictures of Bahrain over the ages that I’d seen before but couldn’t find them ☹️ maybe next time!
Double D — Google review
Bahrain National Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the country’s rich history and culture. Its well-organized exhibits showcase archaeological finds, traditional artifacts, and contemporary art, providing an insightful experience for visitors. The museum is spacious, informative, and ideal for anyone interested in Bahrain’s heritage.
Chao W — Google review
The Bahrain National Museum is beautifully curated and offers a rich look into the country’s culture, heritage and history. The exhibits are informative without feeling overwhelming, and the architecture itself is stunning. It’s well-organized, peaceful, and a must-visit for anyone wanting to truly understand Bahrain’s past and traditions.
Vishal M — Google review
The Bahrain National Museum is a masterpiece of storytelling and design. Set along the waterfront, its calm, light-filled architecture perfectly complements the depth of the history it holds. Walking through the galleries feels like tracing Bahrain’s soul from the ancient Dilmun civilization to Islamic artistry and modern heritage. Every exhibit is beautifully curated, detailed without being overwhelming, and presented with care. What stood out most was how seamlessly the past and present are woven together you don’t just see history, you feel its continuity. A visit here leaves you with quiet awe and a newfound respect for this island’s enduring spirit.
Projat S — Google review
Though small, the museum is clean and well-organized. Entry costs 1.1 BHD, and you’ll need around 30 minutes to go through the exhibits. A good short visit for anyone interested in local history.
Danson D — Google review
Well laid out informative museum, good boat trip over to Pearling Walk from outside museum. Gives you a real education into history and customs of Bahrain. Theatre and Art Gallery adjacent. Need an Uber or taxi to get there as quite isolated from public transport. Only 1BD to enter.

Al Fateh Grand Mosque, built in 1988 and named after Bahrain's founder, is a must-visit for those interested in Islamic culture. The mosque can accommodate up to 7,000 worshippers and features stunning architecture with Italian marble, Indian teak, and hand-blown glass from France. Visitors can engage with friendly guides who are open to answering questions about Islam, faith, and Bahraini culture. The mosque also houses a library with thousands of centuries-old books.
Fantastic experience. Strongly recommended: not only for the magnificence of the grand mosque, but also for the impeccable friendliness of the staff and tour guide. My tour guide Ahmed is very hospitable, patient and considerate. When they heard that I wanted to know more about Islam they gave me a copy of the Quran in my own language for free! To me the staff here represent true Islamic spirit Facilities are great: drinking water dispenser is available on a hot summer day

Very beautiful masjid. Large space and very detailed architectural design. Very good maintenance. You have to be patient with the people Due to more crowds on Friday prayer, because take out your car from parking will take time.
Zeeshan K — Google review
Beautiful grand mosque, for up to 7,000 people. The entrance is free and they provide you appropriate Arabic clothes if you are not dressed according to their standards. There is a quick free tour as well. Definitely worth a visit while in Bahrain.
John B — Google review
Al-Fateh Grand Masjid is truly breathtaking. Its architecture is magnificent, the atmosphere serene, and the spacious prayer hall radiates warmth and tranquillity. The staff and guides are welcoming and knowledgeable, making the visit both spiritually uplifting. A must-visit for anyone coming to Manama. Friday khutbah is translated from Arabic to English
أبو ا — Google review
An absolute must when visiting Bahrain. Dress appropriately. We were given robes & scarves & enjoyed a free private tour by a volunteer. He was so informative & the interior is stunning. We were able to discreetly watch the call to midday prayers & the followers.
Ann P — Google review
A very large mosque. During prayer times, there are many worshippers. The car park next to the mosque is very large, but on Friday it was completely full of cars. As you can see, worshippers hold this place in very high regard. If you want to see what it looks like inside, you will have to choose another day.
W M — Google review
An impressing mosque and great place to go. I had an official guide employed by the bahraini government who explained a lot of details. Although I have been to other mosques I got to know more about the religion and culture. Make sure that you are there with an official guide.
Wolfgang W — Google review
When we visited the Mosque, we were able to join a small English speaking group for a short tour. The guide gave a brief introduction to Islam as well as pointing out the salient features of the inside of the building. We were able to witness the call to prayer being delivered during our visit. Appropriate clothing is provided if one is inappropriately dressed.

Historical landmark
Bab Al Bahrain is a striking 20th-century building that houses numerous shops, cafes, and a bustling marketplace. Restored in 1945 and again in 1986 with intricate Islamic details, including beautiful Arabic calligraphy inscriptions and Quranic verses, it stands at the entrance to the central business district. Visitors can capture souvenir photos here and enjoy various activities such as exhibitions featuring popular products and handmade items.
It is an old souq and one of the most famous landmarks in Manama. It’s definitely a place to experience at least once. The best way to enjoy it is by parking your car nearby and walking through the market. Just keep in mind that it is very crowded in weekends …

🌟 Bab Al Bahrain – The Legacy Gate 🌟 In Manama’s heart, where stories breathe, Stands Bab Al Bahrain, in golden sheathe. A gateway grand, of stone and grace, Where old and new time interlace. This is the legacy of Bahrain’s soul, A timeless arch that makes you whole. Step inside — and feel the shift, Your heart will pause, your mind will lift. Yes… this is it — a sudden change, The world around feels new, yet strange. Souqs whisper spice, oud scents arise, Colors dance beneath desert skies. Footsteps echo through market lanes, Carrying joy, and no mundane. History sleeps in arches wide, While culture wakes with every stride. A perfect blend of soul and scene — Timeless charm in Bahrain's serene. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must-visit for heart, lens, and soul.
Prasadh M — Google review
I visited in the mid afternoon of Tuesday so most of the stalls are closed. It's cozy in there, and you can see there are so many souvenir shops and authentic local products. There is a taxi waiting area outside, and the drivers resting there are so friendly, one even gave me a cup of cold water. I will try to visit at night time for a different vibe
Dianne C — Google review
Bab Al Bahrain is a true cultural landmark and one of the most fascinating places to visit in Manama. Built in 1949, this historical gateway once stood at the waterfront and has since become the symbolic entrance to the Manama Souq. The architecture beautifully blends Bahraini heritage with Islamic design, featuring graceful arches, geometric details, and a layout that feels both timeless and welcoming. The area around Bab Al Bahrain is always lively, filled with local shops, cafés, and vendors selling everything from traditional handicrafts and spices to textiles, gold, and perfumes. It’s an incredible spot to experience authentic Bahraini culture, interact with friendly shopkeepers, and explore narrow alleyways that reveal new surprises at every turn. The souq itself feels like a step back in time, offering a genuine sense of local life while still being comfortable and accessible to visitors. Many people highlight how well-located Bab Al Bahrain is—right in the heart of old Manama and close to restaurants, public transport, and other landmarks. The signage around the area is clear enough to guide visitors through the main market, and the overall atmosphere is safe and inviting for tourists. It can get quite busy, especially on weekends, so visiting early in the morning or later in the evening is the best way to enjoy it peacefully. Bargaining is common here, and while some prices are aimed at tourists, polite negotiation usually leads to a fair deal. Bab Al Bahrain is not just a place to shop; it’s an experience that captures the soul of Bahrain. The mix of history, architecture, and daily life makes it a must-visit for anyone wanting to understand the country’s rich heritage and warm hospitality.
Almohannad A — Google review
Visited Bab Al Bahrain and the Manama Souk, and it was such a dazzling experience! The whole place comes alive with colorful shops, glittering jewellery stores, and the buzz of local life all around. I loved walking through the lanes, taking in the sights, sounds, and aromas, every corner has its own charm. If you ever visit Bahrain, don’t miss this spot! Check out the photos and videos to truly feel the vibe - it’s an experience best seen and felt.
Dr. R — Google review
Bab Al Bahrain is where the heart of Manama truly beats. I loved walking through its lively lanes filled with the scent of spices, the sound of shopkeepers calling out, and the swirl of colors from traditional fabrics and gold displays. The area around the historic gate blends old world charm with everyday Bahraini life, where modern cafes meet age old souks. It’s not just a landmark but a living experience, and every turn reveals a story, a smile, or a glimpse into the island’s heritage. A perfect place to feel the rhythm of local life.

My Go-To Spot for Truly Fantastic Tea If you're looking for an incredible cup of tea near Babul Bahrain, look no further than The Tea Club. I'm a regular here for a reason—their tea is nothing short of mind-blowing. The quality and taste are consistently top-notch. It's the kind of tea you crave and keep coming back for. The atmosphere is perfect for a quick stop or a relaxing break. I highly recommend this place to all tea lovers. You won't be disappointed!

Beit Al Quran, located in the heart of Manama, is an elegant modern complex that boasts a remarkable collection of rare Qurans and Islamic artifacts. The site showcases ancient Qurans dating back to the 7th century, as well as early translations into European languages. In addition to its Quran collection, Beit Al Quran also features manuscripts, wood carvings, and exquisite examples of Islamic calligraphy.
A lovely museum that has a lot of Islamic religious history; mainly when it comes to the holy Qur’an. The place is very well decorated, and the different artifacts are well displayed across several floors. Walking between the floors is through ramps, making it very friendly for folks with wheelchair needs. Tickets are bought at the entrance by cash or card. As a general remark, clothing that covers the body is advised, in addition to head covering for women. Expect to spend 30 minutes onwards here.
Fahd ب — Google review
Really cool museum with SO many Qurans from different time periods. All the different exhibits were really interesting and well laid out. The architecture of the building itself is really cool and clean. If you enjoy history museums — add this to your list!
Sophia L — Google review
A visit to Beit Al-Qurān is highly recommended for anyone visiting Manama, whether for spiritual reflection, cultural interest, or simply to witness the beauty of Islamic history preserved with such care and excellence. May Allāh bless all those involved in maintaining this remarkable institution.
أبو ا — Google review
I'm sure it's beautiful. It looks beautiful on the outside but it will be closed from the 1st of July to the 31st of August 2025 for maintenance.
Sagiv B — Google review
REQUEST: This is a great place. There is a lot to learn about Islamic history here. Actually, I have never visited here. But I planned to visit on Friday, my day off. But it is closed on Friday. This is unacceptable. Because most people would like to visit here on Friday, their day off. So I would like to ask the authorities to think about keeping it open on Friday. Note: I have given it 1 star now. However, if I can ever visit or it opens on Fridays, I will edit it and give it 5 stars.
SHAHIDUL — Google review
Very beautiful museum, where you can find old copies of Quran from all over the world (except the new worlds such as America and Ocenia). There are copies of Quran from Europe too that were printed in Switzerland back in the 16th century. Amazing to know about this! The entrance costs 1 BD and on the left there is a small masjid where Muslims can pray. There is also wudu area.
Seyyid P — Google review
It was an interesting visit, you can see how the quran was preserved and written through the different timings, specially the section where western showed interest in translating the Quran into different languages just for the sake of sharing different culture and religion
Mohamad B — Google review
The place is very cosy and not very big. You can finish it in under 30 minutes depending on how detailed you want to be. It has a vast collection of Qurans from the very early 1st century of Islam up to modern copies. Don't miss it. Admission is free and donations are welcomed. The museum has a mosque attached to it. The only reason I gave it four stars because it does not have any interactive exhibits, also, you can't see any staff, most probably because the admission is free and they don't have enough funds.

The Bahrain National Theater is a stunning architectural marvel located next to the National Museum. Its design pays homage to local traditions, with interwoven aluminum strips in the roof resembling traditional homes and an auditorium interior representing the sea, complete with 1001 seats as a nod to The Thousand and One Nights. Visitors can enjoy a variety of shows from classical music to contemporary performances or simply admire the unique architecture.
Don Quixote at Bahrain National Theatre was an unforgettable experience! ✨ The organization was simply outstanding, smooth entry, well managed seating, and every detail carefully planned. As for the performance, it was absolutely mesmerizing! The dancers delivered breathtaking performances, the costumes were stunning, and the live music added a magical touch to the atmosphere. The humor was delightful. A truly elegant and enchanting evening, I can’t wait for more incredible performances in the future!

One of the most beautiful theatres in the world. I have travelled and been to theatres this is by far the best in my view. Beautiful. One advice do take a jacket or shawl even in the summer the AC is way too cold inside.
Sara Z — Google review
Bahrain National Theater is an amazing place! For me it is an architectural masterpiece! In the evening, it seems as if this building is floating on the waves. The interior refers to wooden fishing boats. The shapes of balconies, armchairs, balustrades... remind me of musical instruments. The play of light is amazing! The only minus - a very expensive cafe.
Lucyna C — Google review
The Bahrain National Theatre is always a treat to visit, and this Ramadan, it felt even more special with the beautiful display of Japanese artwork. The fusion of cultures, set against the theatre’s stunning architecture and peaceful waterfront views, made for a truly unique experience. Whether it’s performances or exhibitions, this place never disappoints—it’s a must-visit for anyone who appreciates art and culture in Bahrain.

The Bahrain National Theatre is one of those places that feels special from the moment you arrive. The location is beautiful, right on the waterfront, with the building’s modern architecture reflecting in the water at night. Inside, the main hall is spacious and comfortable, with excellent acoustics that make performances feel immersive whether you’re sitting close to the stage or further back. They host a variety of events – from international plays and concerts to cultural performances – so it’s worth checking the calendar ahead of time. Parking is available nearby, and the area feels safe and easy to navigate. A great spot to enjoy the arts in Bahrain.

Arad Fort, a 15th-century fortress in Arad, Bahrain, showcases typical Arab architecture and overlooks the sea. Renovated and illuminated at night, the fort's exact construction date remains unknown. It is often visited as part of day tours that include other attractions like the Bahrain National Museum and Al Fateh Grand Mosque.
Welcome to Arad Fort! One of Bahrain’s most historic landmarks, this 15th-century fortress was built to defend the island from invaders. Strategically located near the sea, it provided an excellent vantage point to monitor enemy movements. Its thick walls, watchtowers, and traditional Bahraini architecture showcase the brilliance of ancient military design. Today, Arad Fort is a must-visit site, offering a glimpse into Bahrain’s rich history and stunning sunset views. Have you been here before? Let us know in the comments!”

One of few forts in Bahrain worth visiting. The fort is quite small, yet has good views to the sea. There are some old stores and boats on-site, too. Maintain care when you walk inside the fort as the land is sandy at times and rocky at others. Tickets are bought at the entrance by cash or card, and are priced at 1 BHD. They have ample parking outside. Expect to spend no more than 30 minutes. The fort is very close to a shopping mall and a park.

I enjoyed seeing Arad Fort but there isn't much to see. Essentially there is one curator that sits near the parking lot and you can walk through the fort as you wish. I spent about 30-45 minutes here and saw everything. I also had the Fort to myself the entire time which was pretty cool. There isn't much overhead cover here so I recommend bringing your own water, sunscreen, and a hat. Parking is close to the fort as well, maybe 50m away. The entrance is a nice spot for pictures in the afternoon.

Wide car parking area is there. The entrance fee 1BD per person. No need for a Guide. We can finish the entire fort within 30 minutes. Not much activity is there. The Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Center is a 3.5km historic trail in Muharraq, offering an immersive journey into the ancient pearl industry. From the renowned Bin Matar House to the Kurar House, visitors can explore the rich heritage of this area. The center hosts events like Muharraq Nights, a vibrant festival celebrating art, design, fashion, music, and more across historic neighborhoods.
I recently had a wonderful experience starting from Qalat Bu Maher. The entire journey was enriched by the super helpful guides who made everything enjoyable. Be prepared for a lot of walking as you explore numerous museums and attractions along the way. One highlight was the cozy coffee shop called "Bake and paper," which offered a perfect spot to relax and recharge. We also visited Biet Nasser, where the atmosphere was delightful. Another memorable stop was Sudra Haneen, a charming house filled with vintage items. The owner there was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain everything, making the experience even more special. I highly recommend going with a tour guide from the area and, if possible, renting a golf cart to make navigating easier. Overall, a fantastic way to explore and learn about the local culture!

Bahrain Pearling Path is a little wonder as it will take you on a path to discovery of the story of Muharraq of the roads, paths, houses and life of the village. It’s starts with the visitor center where they have restored the old houses and gives us glimpses of how the life used to be.
Sallyann A — Google review
Must try. It’s a 3.5 km walk one side. I walked full. Fortunately there was an event happening and there were lot of locals doing the night walk, along with many events, activities. Amazing local experience. The houses are well maintained and curated beautifully. Glimpse of life before oil where they relied on pearl.

A must-do in Bahrain! The Pearling Path in Muharraq is a beautiful and peaceful walking trail through some of the oldest parts of the city. It’s full of restored historic buildings, quiet alleys, and traditional Bahraini architecture. You really get a feel for the country’s pearling history without it being overly touristy. It’s well designed, with shaded spots, info signs, and pearl-shaped lights that guide you along the way. Local cafés and shops add to the charm, and the whole area feels alive but calm. Best to go during cooler hours and wear comfy shoes—there’s a lot to see. Whether you’re into history, architecture, or just looking for a scenic walk, this is totally worth it. A great way to slow down and experience Bahrain’s heritage.
Susha A — Google review
Valerio Olgiati’s Pearling Path Visitor Center in Muharraq, Bahrain is a vast, monolithic canopy that shelters the remains of an old marketplace building. A grid of slender columns and abstract wind-tower volumes holds aloft a single concrete plane, creating a cool, shaded “urban room” beneath. Rather than imitating vernacular forms, it asserts an autonomous, non-referential logic: the ruin remains intact below, the new canopy floats above, and no stylistic narrative is imposed. The resulting space is simultaneously monumental and open, inviting public life while acknowledging the site’s historical layer—yet never reducing it to mere symbolism.

A fun place for families and kids, with a nice mix of rides. There’s something for all age groups—from gentle rides for little ones to more thrilling ones for older kids and teens. The area is clean, and the staff are helpful. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, so visiting on a weekday is more relaxing. Food stalls and seating areas are available, making it easy to spend a few hours here. A good spot for a casual day out with family or friends.

Only the Outdoor activities entrance fee is 0.500 files per adult. For New Card BD 1.00 additional charges
Gurpreet S — Google review
Has both outdoor and indoor activities. There was a package of about 7BD which allows 3 rounds of each activity. The rides are limited and does not provide much activities for younger kids; so if you are coming with a family of different ages, it may be a challenge. One more thing, I don’t think the staff has any training on guest interaction . From the time you come to the reception, a rather cold, robotic person explains a list of pricing which just goes over your head. It would be better to have notices on pricing. The ride attendants have no business serving customers - who are mostly young people. There was zero warmth and most looked like they would rather be somewhere else! A fun park should have the right ambience- and getting the right staff and training them to serve and create a fun environment is a priority. Get your recruitment process right. When I was checking on height limit for my child to enter the ride, the staff did not even look at me and said, ‘No!’ When I told him that I do respect the security decision but he could at least say it politely, he simply barked back at me and repeated ‘No’, when I was not even disputing it. One exception was the staff at the Japan Coast who seemed genuinely interested in keeping his customers happy. Overall ok place to go, if they will improve on customer service!
Mo F — Google review
I went there during a public holiday, the place is big, clean and lovely. Most of the games are for people above 140 cm in height. so my children didn't get a chance to play, but there is a play area for kids with electronic games. The fees was 0.500 fils per person because of the festival, then you can charge your card with any amount.

Awesome place for walking and running!! There's about 1.6 km of soft flooring laid out and you really feel like you're in a park when running there since there are many trees and flowers to your right and a lagoon to your left with loads of mangrove trees !! Lots of birds come here, too. There's also grassy areas for working out. There are seats scattered around and shaded areas for those hot days. Great to see the greenery here is looked after and maintained. There's also a kids playground. You will hear planes since it's close to the airport, but it's not a big deal. The first 40 minutes are complimentary, and after that, it costs 0.300 fils per hour for parking. Worth it for sure!

Nestled in the heart of Manama, the Sail Monument stands as a stunning tribute to Bahrain's rich heritage in pearl diving, one of its most vital industries. By day, it captivates with its elegant design, but when night falls, it transforms into an enchanting sight illuminated against the city skyline.

Al Khamis Mosque, located in Manama, Bahrain, is an 11th-century mosque with significant historical and architectural importance. It is the first mosque built outside the Arabian Peninsula and features two minarets, one of which dates back to 1085. Despite being demolished over time, it has been renovated multiple times and remains a crucial archaeological landmark in Bahrain. The mosque also served as a venue for religious rituals and educational activities.

Al Khamis Mosque is one of the first mosques in Bahrain. Open between 12 and 5 o'clock. There are open and closed areas. In open areas, some sections are covered with glass. There is no written explanation as to why this is so. But later we learned that it was built that way because it was a cemetery. Since the mosque area was under restoration, it was forbidden to go near it. The environment was quiet and calm. Entrance was free. You can access detailed historical information in the closed area.

One of the best historical landmarks in Bahrain , a must visit tourist place , its the oldest Mosque in Bahrain and one of the best tourist locations. A must visit for photography lovers to capture some nice historical architecture.Such a beautiful, historic gem in the middle of Bahrain. We went during the day and it was hot and humid and we were the only people there. We didn’t spend more than 20 minutes there but we absolutely loved it.
Munawwar K — Google review
From an information plaque in the 'visitor center'. "The Al-Khamis mosque is the oldest extant mosque in Bahrain, and as such has a very special identity on the islands. The buildings we see today dates largely from the 12th to 13th centuries CE, tradition claims the original mosque was built in the early 8th century CE. The area in which the mosque stands is Bilad al-Qadim, which translates as "The Old Town" or "The Old Country", and history and archaeology show that people have been living here since at least the 8th Century CE." This is a nice site that has three main sections, first the entrance which hosts a small visitor centre where you can see aerial photos of the old town, gravestones, artefacts, old coins, gems, pearls etc. Next is a large open space where you can see remains of the old structures, a shrine (which has sadly collapsed) and then the Mosque itself. The pavement has a very gently slope so getting around is easy and the site can be completed by wheelchair or buggy (not including inside the mosque). The entire site is really well maintained and spotlessly clean. There are two minarets that you can enter and climb to see out of the windows but these are very narrow and small so adults may struggle getting in. Overall its a very enjoyable site and well worth a visit if you have never been before. Entrance is free as is parking, there are toilets on site and you don't need to either wear a head covering for women and shorts are OK for men. Please be aware that there is a 3 meter deep well close to the footpath that is not fenced off, something to bear in mind if you have young children that like to run ahead. Great for photography.
Brian P — Google review
Very ancient masque is waiting for you to visit and enjoy your trip in Bahrain, but unfortunately we were not allowed inside by the security guards, they told us that today is Friday and the masque is closed for visitors after 4 pm while normally it remain open up to 5 pm, we took just few clicks from outside of the boundary wall. Do vhr before you go there.
Ihsan K — Google review
A little piece of history in the middle of the modern day Bahrain. Believed to be the oldest mosque in Bahrain , it is preserved quite well. There is a visitors center, where more information about the Mosque and about the era can be found with lots of exhibits from the Khamis Mosque excavation along with footnotes as to what they represent and their significance in both Arabic and English. There is also an audio device which visitors can play in order to get an idea about the Mosque and the era. An interactive device which shows you the trade routes in the historic era is also found here. Apparently there is a guide present in the visitors section but was disappointing as he did not even bother to show around and explain. After existing the visitors center, it will lead you to the main Mosque section where you can explore it. You can also climb the minaret to get an Arial view. Suggest to visit in winter or after sunset at summer. It is a shame that not a lot of people visit this Mosque and that it is not promoted much.

Great coffee with great ambiance, the place is perfect for a break from reality. Visited this lovely little art space with a friend recently and really enjoyed it. It’s got a super chill vibe — quiet, spacious, and perfect if you’re looking for a bit of downtime. There’s a nice cafe where you can grab a drink and just relax, and the garden area is such a peaceful spot to walk around. Lots of greenery, birds chirping… it’s honestly kind of therapeutic. The art gallery itself was spacious but interesting, and we basically had the whole place to ourselves since we went in the middle of the day on a weekday. I discovered this place recently. It was truly a more beautiful place than I expected. I thought it was a single building, but I saw that there were other buildings as well. When you enter, there is a cafe on your right, an exhibition in the building on your left, and a library on the upper floor. If you wish, you can grab your coffee, read your book in the library, study, or sit outside in the garden. I found myself discovering new places every time I went to closely examine each section one by one. I saw that some places were still under renovation. It is quiet on weekdays and crowded on weekends. It is located in the mosque on the upper floor of the exhibition building. Prayer mat and prayer clothes are also available. I found myself outside, on the balcony of my house, experiencing a peaceful and calm feeling among the sounds of birds and nature. When ordering coffee, the credit card device is faulty, so they take payment in cash or cash. There are also sections selling souvenirs at the entrance and inside the cafe. I saw sockets in some places. You can bring your computer with you and find a socket to charge it. Being a nature lover, I was very happy to find Water Garden in Bahrain before. Now this place has almost become a Water Garden for me. Also, this place is very close to Water Garden.

The atmosphere is calm and scenic, especially with the view of the boats and the cultural feel of the area. It’s also nice to admire the seagulls as they glide over the water. Highly recommended for a relaxed outing, and it would be absolutely perfect to visit during the winter season.

Saada Sea Front in Muharraq is a clean, peaceful spot perfect for walking, relaxing, or enjoying sea views. The sea taxi service operating here is professional and safe—ideal for quick scenic trips around Bahrain. Friendly staff, smooth rides, and a unique coastal experience. Highly recommended!

There are plenty of shops here. We wanted to rent a boat, but we ended up waiting for a long looong time. It would have been great if they had a reservation system or a website that is attached here in Google Maps so we could book a boat in advance..

IMAX theater
VOX Cinemas Bahrain City Centre Mall offers a luxurious movie experience with options like 4D e-motion showings and gourmet dining. Visitors praise the helpful staff, fresh popcorn, and cozy ambiance. The cinema is located in a clean and posh area, making it an excellent place to spend time with family. It's recommended to choose IMAX for an extraordinary sound and screen quality, even for non-3D movies.
Vox Cinemas in City Centre Bahrain offers a great movie experience. They have a wide variety of films, comfortable seating, and a good selection of snacks. The IMAX screen is particularly impressive, providing a truly immersive experience. It can get a bit crowded at times, but overall, it's a solid choice for catching the latest blockbusters.

Huge cinema with lots of choice of movies and seating. We had premium seats in a standard viewing which were fine but don’t feel you need to pay more for premium seats as the standard are the same, just a different colour! Food and drinks prices were ok for the cinema and service was swift. We had a regular popcorn, 2 coffees and 2 frozen drinks for 10BD (£20). Will definitely come back.

Amazing place to enjoy watching the movies 🎬. All the latest movies in one place 🍿🥤the prices are good and there's an offer on the occasions.

Seats? Comfy. Food? Surprisingly good. But here’s the deal: if the showtime says 5:40 PM, the movie should actually start at 5:40. Not 6:00. We didn’t come early to watch ads and lights flickering for 20 minutes. Respecting the audiences time is just as important as the popcorn.
Moiz S — Google review
The best cinemas in Bahrain in terms of screens and sound, I personally prefer the old style in terms of separating the ticket reservation counter from the food ordering counter because combining tickets and food causes delays and severe congestion. I hope the old style comes back. They added self-service but unfortunately with the addition of fees. I hope to cancel these fees. There is a problem with the queues as there is no organization and there are those who jump the queues from the sides and the leniency of the employees in addition to the leniency of some managers. I saw one of the managers reserving tickets for his friends without them standing in line and he brought them the payment device. This incident can be traced through the cinema’s surveillance cameras located next to the door of the counters at 12:10 AM on Friday, September 12, if the cinema management is interested in this matter.

My Experience in attending a movie in the IMAX cinema is extremely bad. Unfortunately there was light inside the cinema where you walk to sit on your desired chair. It's a completely wrong idea to place lights there. The people who sit in the lower zones are affected badly. I strongly suggest the management of VOX cinema to remove these lights or at least Dim it. So the people can really enjoy the movie. From now on . I would stick to the normal cinema mode till further improvement. The food service is really good . Booking everything online can save you a good time.

Bin Matar House is a historic building in Bahrain, originally built in 1905 by Mussa bin Hamad. It was the permanent majlis of pearling merchant Salman Hussein Bin Matar and has since been transformed into an art center and gallery. The building showcases traditional Bahraini architecture and hosts exhibitions featuring both emerging and established artists. Visitors can explore the unique architecture while enjoying the diverse collection of art on display.
The Bin Matar House pays homage to the memory of Salman Matar and his family. It still stands today and has for many years, a symbol for generations’ ties to the unique architecture of Muharraq and distinctive quality that has distinguished this building since its founding. Throughout the restoration work, great care was taken to preserve the unique architectural features while transforming part of it into an arts space which has since its opening in 2009 hosted a number of local, Arab and international exhibitions. The building also serves as a beautiful embodiment at the same time of the relationship between the merchant Salman bin Matar, his family, and the pearl trade. This history can be found in the main showrooms at the heart of the place.

I attended an exhibition about CERN took place here. The exhibition was excellent, well organized and informative with much effort put into it. What made it nicer was the historical building that it took place in, that was a very well maintained and adjusted historical building to modern standards. This gives you a taste of the bahraini culture merged in modern era.

They cost 2BD for entrance and if you're Bahraini it's either free or 1BD. Very small place but overall really cute. They have a small area for souvenirs where you can buy jewelry, T-shirts, books etc.
