The Assembly House is a stunning Georgian Grade listed mansion in Norwich, serving as a versatile venue for various events and an essential part of the city's cultural scene. As part of the Norwich 12 initiative, it contributes to the city's heritage attractions. The house hosts visual and performing arts events and features a restaurant offering classic British dishes in an elegant setting. Visitors can also enjoy afternoon tea in this historic building, which has been popular since the 19th century.
Myself and family (two adults, two under 12s) visited for Halloween afternoon tea this year after attending an Alice In Wonderful themed afternoon tea previously and loving it. We had equally as much fun this time. The theming of the food is so much fun. The food is so beautiful to look at but also delicious! Our favourites were the mini cheese toasties and the scary macaroons with eyes! Perfect for little ones even though it’s a formal setting, our kids absolutely loved it as it was their first afternoon tea! Service was brilliant, very professional and polite. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming themes and attending our next afternoon tea as a family!

This was my first time visiting the assembly house Norwich. I was VERY excited to go with a few of my friends to celebrate her engagement, however a few things i witnessed i found very disturbing. The afternoon tea was NOT up to standard, the only way i could describe it would be like someone farted on it before bringing it out to us. on a serious note for the price i would rather have spend the money in aldi, lidl or any other supermarket and make it myself. i appreciate the presentation however it tasted like sawdust there was 0 flavour in anything. there was i would say a large group with me 8-10 people we racked up QUITE a bill and left feeling hungry as the food was inedible. in hindsight we should have gone to mcdonald’s. I felt like i was in a void where they had removed our 5 senses. the only thing comparable in taste is if i had a chunk of road on my plate. the building and wait staff are both great however a serious menu change needs to happen before i return. although i did hear staff say behind the wall that they think the cakes taste like they are cr an all inclusive, not sure if it’s this is a positive or not. quick tip: dressing up the afternoon tea doesn’t make it taste good! kind regards Emma Smith

Held my cousins surprise baby shower at The Assembly House yesterday, and what an amazing experience from start to finish! Daisy on the events team was always to hand guiding me through the process. Payments and any queries I may have had were handled swiftly and effortlessly. A big thank you to her! The room was beautiful, the perfect size and had such an elegant atmosphere. The afternoon tea was delightful, delicious warm scones, gorgeous cakes and plenty of them! A very special thank you to Kyle, he was outstanding! From helping us blow up balloons, offering drinks or anything we would need. Not overbearing, just simply perfect timings throughout. (My glass was never empty!) He is a real credit to the team and we were very lucky to have been served by him. To conclude, if I could give 6 stars I would! Thank you again, Assembly House for giving my cousin the perfect baby shower.

My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon tea at The Assembly House. We had the Bramble and Bonfire Afternoon Tea which was on offer during our visit. The price per person was £32.50 - although on the more expensive side, the quality of food and drink was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend the Norfolk Lavender tea (similar to Earl Grey). Service was excellent. Bathrooms could do with a tidy up. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went for breakfast bright and early when the city was quiet and beautiful. Great service we were well looked after and a good range of breakfast dishes to choose from. I went for the full English almost perfect if the eggs would have been runny. Came with toast for around £15 in the beautiful Georgian dining hall. The setting was worth it alone. My guest had never been so he loved discovering this gem of Norwich. A lovely selection of local teas too - so you can buy more close buy if wanted. We will be back for afternoon tea.

We went to see candlelight presentation of the music of Hans Zimmerman. Excellent performance, truly goosebumps at times. The venue was perfect and easy to get to, we used public transport but car parks are nearby. The venue had a bar too, should you want a drink. The players were marvellous, the music was superb all played with many candles surrounding the players. I suspect it was the listening to music with the comforting light of candles that brought us all together and had a great night.

I attended a wedding reception and unfortunately cut my foot on glass, I hasten to add, it was my fault as I was barefoot. The members of staff Casey and Jamie were Brilliant in making sure I was taken care of, alongside my cousin's sister in law. They stayed with me through the ordeal and helped me through this awful, embarrassing, painful experience. Thankyou so much for your kindness, patience. They went beyond their remit, and I'm so grateful! Beforehand I was having a wonderful time celebrating my cousin's marriage and celebrating with All my family. Great venue, fabulous food, wonderful staff! I wouldn't hesitate, in recommending this beautiful place to anyone wishing for an amazing celebratory venue enough! Beyond expectations ❤️

We recently celebrated our parents’ 60th wedding anniversary at The Assembly House, and it was the perfect venue for such a special occasion. From the very beginning, Daisy was outstanding in handling the arrangements — professional, responsive, and always helpful in making sure every detail was in place. On the day itself, Andrew looked after us with such care and attention. He was thoughtful, attentive, and ensured everything ran smoothly, which made the whole celebration stress-free and truly enjoyable. The food, atmosphere, and service were all first-class, and many of our guests commented on how wonderful the experience was. We are so grateful to Daisy, Andrew, and the whole team at The Assembly House for helping us create lasting memories. Highly recommended for anyone planning a celebration or special event.

Byfords is a charming cafe, restaurant, and deli located in a quaint historic building in Holt, North Norfolk. It also offers plush lodging with marble bathrooms. Situated in the middle of Holts bustling high street, this Georgian gem of a town is perfectly placed just 3 miles inland from the Norfolk coast.
We had the most wonderful stay here to celebrate our anniversary, and it truly couldn’t have been more special. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, and every detail was thought through with such care. The atmosphere was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy time together. The room was beautifully prepared and felt so cozy, with thoughtful touches that made our celebration feel extra special. We also appreciated how attentive and kind the staff were (special shoutout to Mia who was incredible) —always available if needed, but also giving us the space to simply enjoy our time. It was exactly the getaway we were hoping for, and we left feeling grateful, refreshed, and full of happy memories. Thank you for helping make our anniversary such a memorable experience—we can’t wait to come back!

One of the best mochas and scones I’ve had in the UK! We stumbled upon this place by chance, and I’m so glad we did. The service was absolutely lovely too. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

Was feeling peckish so popped in for a breakfast. Very popular local spot, I had a fine minute wait for a table but worth it. I would recommend booking if you know you are going. Overall really enjoyed it, a little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

Food was great as always. We come here at least once a year and it’s always amazing. We came to celebrate a 30th birthday and the team put put out a balloon for us. Only slight downside was a very long wait for our drinks when it wasn’t really busy but staff were lovely so can’t complain

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary in room 16. Lovely hotel, really comfy bed and a great en suite. Only downside was the food menu, which was a bit plain, but overall we had a really nice stay.

Tea house
Biddy's Tea Room is a charming vintage-style cafe located in Norwich, just a short walk from the bustling Norwich Market. The traditional English tea room offers a delightful selection of homemade cakes, finger sandwiches, and cream teas. Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely lunch or a special celebration, Biddy's has something for everyone with options catering to vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten sensitivities.
For my first time trying afternoon tea, I was amazed with the selection of sandwiches, cake, scones and tea! The portions are huge (so large I couldn’t even start my cake) The staff are happy to give a box for you to take away any leftovers - which I did! I would recommend this lovely place to anyone. I had the hummus, carrot, avacado and balsamic sandwich (served with a little side salad), the Lavender scone and carrot cake. All was delicious and fresh. The Biddy’s blend tea was so good, very sweet ! For around £20 per person it is worth every penny. As a vegetarian there was plenty of options, as the sandwiches are made fresh you can swap out and ingredients to suit.

My girlfriend and I recently visited for high tea. We enjoyed a selection of sandwiches and their unique vanilla chai tea made with rooibos. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting, nice for a laid-back afternoon. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Exactly what we were looking for. The cafe is in a lovely quiet position away from roads etc down a pretty alley way. We got a friendly greeting and could choose our table. We had builders tea and delicious scones that had just been made. It was so relaxing just watching people going about their day whilst enjoying our tasty elevenses. Would recommend to holiday makers and locals like us. We feel so lucky to have lovely cafes like this to visit.

First time in the new cafe. Same fantastic service . Delicious cakes and bakes including gluten free and dairy free. Great quality coffee and a huge selection of teas snd tisanes. Will definitely return.

Whenever I’ve gone here it’s always been busy but delightful. I’m not surprised how busy it is though because, 1) the food and drink is absolutely delicious. 2) the prices are reasonable and affordable. 3) the atmosphere is homely and cosy. 4) and the staff are friendly and welcoming

My friend and I popped in today and couldn’t resist all those delicious looking cakes on display. Each of us got a slice - which was HUGE - and honestly, my lemon and blueberry drizzle cake was the best I’ve ever tasted! Carrot cake was absolutely delicious too! I will definitely be back soon!

Folly Tearoom is a charming and dreamy place that offers a unique selection of locally sourced brunch foods, such as The Full Folly which includes toast, croissant, cured ham and salamis, cheeses, fruit salad, yogurt, and choice of beverage. Their menu also features tempting items like fruit sundaes and poached eggs with smoked salmon.
Visited the newly reopened Folly for lunch and was so impressed! The staff are so welcoming - Lee and Tim are really friendly, taking the time to chat with everyone so there is such a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious, I had a homemade pie and it was excellent, followed by a dark chocolate tart, but there were so many things on the menu that I could have had, it was hard to choose just one! I would highly recommend anyone to visit Folly and try their vast range of teas, cakes, sandwiches and more. A true gem of a tea room in the heart of Holt and I will be back!

Fabulous breakfast banquet this morning to celebrate Julie’s birthday. Lee, Tim and the team made her feel very special (she especially appreciated the whole restaurant singing ‘happy birthday’!) and the birthday cake went down a storm too! This is a fabulous place under excellent new ownership.

We had an absolutely perfect afternoon tea experience. Every detail is meticulously taken care of, from the atmosphere to the exquisite presentation of the afternoon tea. The food is of outstanding quality, and the staff is incredibly friendly and exceptionally helpful, they also accommodate any requests without hesitation. A truly quintessential British afternoon tea experience. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a delicious fruit scone & special tea in this very peaceful garden setting yesterday afternoon. Lee was super friendly & we will definitely be back. A little hidden gem in lovely Holt.
Bianca W — Google review
A brilliant afternoon spent at the Newley opened Folly Tearooms in Holt, eating delicious food and drinking from a substantial list of great drinks on offer. We went on a busy Saturday afternoon, with staff being extremely attentive to me and other diners, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a lively ‘buzz’ around the place. Shout out to Lee, Tim and Stacey for making us feel very welcome. The food was brilliant, having a homemade Steak & Ale Pie, followed by a superb caramel cake. There is something for everyone’s taste and in a perfect location. Looking forward to revisiting in the summer and sitting outside in the court yard which even in the winter months looks incredible!

Delightful tea room. Beautiful walled courtyard garden. Good service shared a crayfish sandwich much to my surprise on 2 plates . Delicious coleslaw . Scones Jam and clotted cream . Just simple well prepared good quality ingredients. A must if in Holt. Highly recommend.. plus very good value .

Happened upon this tea room on the way back to the car park and decided to stop for lunch. Sat inside (table service) although the courtyard garden also looked lovely. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was excellent. The tea menu is extensive and I can highly recommend the rhubarb and ginger tea - very refreshing. Well worth seeking out.

The Cliff Hotel is a stylish accommodation option that provides elegant rooms and dining facilities. Guests can enjoy breathtaking sea views from the hotel's terrace. The Muse Restaurant at The Cliff Hotel offers a delightful dining experience in the heart of Gorleston-on-Sea. With its panoramic views, this chic hotel is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a sophisticated stay with beautiful coastal scenery.
We recently had a family lunch at the Cliff Hotel and we were so impressed with the service. We were immediately greeted by a kind and friendly staff member, who was more than happy to accommodate a large table of 7 with no booking. I believe his name was Justin. Justin and the other staff members on that day went above and beyond, checking in on us regularly and helping us with ordering when some of us were a bit unsure on what to get! The food was delicious and the views are amazing. The restaurant itself is very clean, modern and has a great vibe to it! I could see it being a great venue for large tea parties or other events such as birthdays. Thanks again to Justin and the team for making our family lunch a memorable one 🥰
Gemma W — Google review
Set on the top of the cliff looking down onto Gorleston on sea, seafront, this hotel has a great location. You can take the steps or there is an accessible ramp that takes you down to the beach and sea front facilities. A ten minute or so walk takes you to the town centre. The hotel is an attractive older building with new extensions. It has a great terrace area that is used for bar/ afternoon tea/ restaurant. The terrace is covered and has glass sides to protect you from the north sea weather. The restaurant is very good.A large roof lantern gives lots of natural light and the seating is comfortable and spacious. To the rear there is access to the terrace area. The menu though not extensive is full of tempting choices and the food very good. I went with the warm loaf option which is huge and must be shared. Probably do for four if you're having other starters as well. Recommended as it is extremely tasty. The room we stayed in was clean and large with an excellent high pressure shower(plenty of hot water as well). The basin was on the small size and shaving was hard as the lighting is very subdued. The huge bed was very comfortable. A nice touch though is the freshly bottled water in decanters. Now comes the but.....the room was very warm without heating( there was a large fan). The two days we stayed weren't particularly warm.It is impossible to have the balcony door or window open without experiencing loud noise from the kitchen extraction fans. The restaurant was directly below the room. We paid extra for a balcony with sea view.....yes you can see the sea and beach but the view is obscured by buildings and to one side is the the very unattractive Great Yarmouth harbour entrance. The aforementioned restaurant roof lantern is a few feet from the balcony and you can see and the diners can see you!!!. The balcony and room is only several feet from the adjoining block of flats that directly face into the room. The room didn't have net curtains so leaving the thick curtains open wasn't really an option. All in all the hotel is very nice for a short break as it's comfortable and friendly and the few problems could be easily rectified.

Booked table for 5 today for long awaited catch up. Firstly I have to say the young waitress Jess was a sweetheart...out of 5 meals 3 were seabass ..on previous occasions this has been super but today the meal was poor ...but it was the quite frankly bizarre way it was handled that was so disappointing. I won't bore you with details bit it was backwards and forwards to the chef who then sent back the percentage he thought we should pay ...we were left with no drinks or dessert menu and really ruined the afternoon...this has gone downhill since our last visit ....should have gone to the Fig .

Went for 90s bottomless brunch! Had a blast! Staff were working hard so me and my girls had a brilliant time! Especially katelyn she was so kind and accommodating always keeping the energy up for our group! Fast service and good atmosphere for events! Have stayed here previous and had lovely rooms!

We've been meaning to visit here for a while and just never seemed to get round to it. I'm kinda disappointed that we hadn't made the effort before because its a little gem. We only stopped in for a hot beverage and a small bite to eat. From the moment we entered we were greeted very nicely by the lady on reception who directed us to our needs. All the staff were really nice and took time to listen and respond accordingly. The drinks and food were of a good standard and at a really reasonable price. On the way out I said something to one of the house keeping staff and even though she was obviously extremely busy she took the time to talk to me. The views from the terrace of the sea and harbour were really nice to relax to.

Didnt stay, but used restaurant and summarise as below. Staff friendly, service was slowtook 20 mins to take drinks & food order and food took a further 40 mins. The food - we had the roast beef, portion size was small, the 1 carrot, parsnip and broccoli were cooked very well, the potatoes had an after taste the size of the beef was small photo below. Unfortunately not worth £18 The boy had the cheesy pasta and in my 10yr olds own words "its like macaroni chesse temu style" Wouldn't go back which is a shame as staff as i say were friendly and the outsude terrace nice in the sun

Eaten and stayed here many times and always been excellent today was no exception a wedding hen do 21st and 50th to manage as well as others guest. Our waitress Maya was excellent and ensured we did not have to wait to long for our drinks meals etc.

For £160 a night, I expected a hotel, not a game of hide-and-seek with the receptionist and a bathroom held together by hope and limescale... I used to visit The Cliff Hotel often growing up, as my family lived nearby, so I was looking forward to staying again while visiting family. Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing, especially for the price. Yes, the location and views are lovely, but that’s about all this place has going for it. When we arrived, there was no one at reception, so we had to check in at the bar. Even the bar staff seemed confused, until they realized the receptionist was just casually chatting nearby. Check-out was the same, we waited around 10 minutes, only for someone to reappear from the back after we asked again at the bar. The room wasn’t great either. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly (there were marks on the shower floor and wall), and the fixtures were really dated. The sink wobbled, there were holes in the door, and the shower controls were so worn you had to guess to get the temperature right. The room smells musty, it was a bit grim. Staff throughout the hotel seemed distracted or disinterested - any interaction felt like a nuisance, which is a sign of poor management and perhaps staff not being looked after. The only real interaction we had was when it came to paying. At breakfast, one poor waiter was clearly doing everything on his own, while the receptionist was nowhere to be seen, she eventually turned up after making herself a tea. I don’t blame the individual staff, they seemed to be doing what they could, but the hotel is clearly poorly managed. In short: nice views, but not worth staying overnight. There are plenty of better places nearby. You’re paying for the view, and not much else.

Congham Hall Hotel & Spa is a refined Georgian manor house offering a warm restaurant, sleek spa, and indoor pool. Nestled in the Norfolk countryside near Sandringham Estate, this elegant and peaceful hotel provides top-notch rooms, an excellent spa, and leisure facilities for a relaxed weekend getaway. With 31 rooms and suites divided between the main house, courtyard garden rooms, and luxurious cabins with private terraces overlooking orchards, it offers a charming country retreat.
My stay at Congham was so absolutely beautiful. This is the most peaceful, bespoke, and gorgeous hotel I've stayed in for a long time (possibly ever?). The staff were so, so kind and welcoming, went out of their way to be personally attentive, and the meals and service were so beyond anything I could have asked for--full of little details and perks that made everything that much more special. (I added more in the food section). The grounds and gardens were so incredibly beautiful that words can't capture them--the photos speak for themselves! I split my stay into two separate rooms, the orchard cabin and a best garden room, and both were absolutely lovely. Congham is the utmost in quality and luxury while also feeling down-to-earth and offering different options and deals for different price points. I felt utterly peaceful and content surrounded by nature, beauty, and indulgence. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed and happy, or so cared for. Thank you so much for the beautiful stay--it was the best 30th birthday gift I could have given myself. :)

Fantastic weekend stay. The Spa is beautiful with a gorgeous outdoor hot tub and thrilling sensory showers. The dinner was exquisite-and everything on the menu looked inviting-we had the pigeon and burrata starters with guinea fowl and beef for mains. All were cooked beautifully. And the room was very comfy! All things considered very good value and definitely returning!

Review is based on having an evening meal in the restaurant, not experiencing the spa or hotel etc. The food was exquisitely presented (unfortunately forgot to take photos of our desserts) and very tasty with adequate portions. There's a fantastic wine list too. Service was absolutely outstanding, it was attentive without being intrusive. It truly was awesome. Will certainly visit again!

Superb. Just got back from one night at the Congham. Wonderful hotel, spa and restaurant. Excellent customer service and very friendly staff. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Food was AMAZING, absolutely amazing. The Restaurant is very high end, but a relaxed atmosphere, very well done. Spa was lovely too. Very nice outdoor hot tub which was spotlessly clean.

Just spent a long weekend with our family to celebrate a big birthday and wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect - rooms, welcome from the staff, food and spa! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel truly welcome and cared for by the friendly and professional staff. The place is beautifully decorated, lots of relaxing space. The Echenacea bedroom was a great size, lovely views, comfortable bed and all the facilities. The restaurant food is wonderful and prepared with great care. The spa is lovely and the treatments were great. I'll definitely be back and would recommend this beautiful hotel.

After staying at the hotel a few times over the years we decided to book our wedding here. On our first meeting with Katherine we knew it would be so organised. We had the most perfect wedding from the rooms for ourselves and our guests. The food was outstanding and the grounds for a wedding just beautiful. Nothing was to much trouble It's was first class dedication from the staff. We are both private chefs/ caterers so we are fussy, but couldn't fault one thing. Thank you to everyone for the most wonderful wedding. Sandra and Frank

A little gem of a place, hidden away in the centre of a quaint market town. The Hotel owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Our dog was welcomed too.

‘A Hidden Gem In Swaffham’ This is a charming boutique hotel with lots of emphasis on the local area and history. We have family in Swaffham and always choose to stay at Strattons. This is a family run business and the owners (Les and Vanessa) are such lovely people and they are always amenable to our requests. We always book directly with the hotel, as we find this more personable and we can discuss the room types available, so we know we are booking the room that is perfect for us as a family. We also like to book directly with the hotel, as we are aware of the hefty commission these small businesses have to pay to booking sites, each time a reservation is made through one. This is a beautiful family run hotel. We have had a wonderful stay this week and we will certainly be back!

Truly a hidden gem which exceeded expectations. I always read reviews before I book a hotel or restaurant and I was concerned about a couple I read, but thankfully I ignored them and I was not disappointed. The Red Room is theatrically decorated, in keeping with the era of the building, preserving many original features and having had other features restored tastefully. The staff in all areas went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure a warm welcome. The restaurant experience was beyond expectations. The local produce menu did not disappoint. Presentation was delightful and the service well delivered. This hotel sits down a small lane behind the market place but you hear nothing from the road, houses or nearby shops. The Red Room has an open fire which was prepared ready to light, which we did after dinner and it looked incredible. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Lovely overnight stay in the Stalls room. Room was very clean and spacious. Comfy bed and nice pillows. Had a nice evening meal and breakfast at Cocoes, great gluten free options. All hotel staff very friendly. Just a few niggles…our one night stay was £225. For this rate I would’ve expected a few extras such as robes maybe and a much better hairdryer. Very basic tea/coffee facilities, not even a biscuit. Mini bar poorly stocked…one tiny bottle of Diet Coke for 2? Blinds over the bed need to be black out…light poured in at 6am. The bulbs in the bowler hat lights could do with being a bit dimmer as so bright. Lots of shelving in the room but absolutely nothing on them? Maybe some cool ornaments and a few books would be a nice touch. Overall a nice stay…we just don’t feel it matched the luxury boutique description.

I fully recommend this Hotel. We have been on a 6 week trip through Europe and the quality and service at this hotel is far far the best. The location is awesome and the staff are extremely helpful. Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Highly recommended

The Norfolk Mead Hotel, Venue and Spa we had the pleasure of having our wedding at this venue. What a venue it was, beautiful scenery such tranquil settings. Was super intimate and just the perfect place to host the most perfect day. All our guests were so impressed with the venue and honestly it was faultless! The food was incredible, so good! The quality was exceptional! The staff were friendly and accommodating even with the slightly more drunk guests. Everyone had the best time. Frankie and Danni were excellent, couldn’t do enough for us making sure our day was memorable. I was to thank all the staff and especially Frankie and Danni for making our day run perfectly from start to finish. I would 1 million percent recommend this venue to anyone that is looking for the most perfect day! From the new Mrs and Mrs Lake 🫶

Lovely hotel with an intimate feel and exceptionally considerate service. What sets this establishment apart from many others is they seem to genuinely want you to have a comfortable and happy stay. Plenty of times, the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They made a special effort to cater for dietary requirements and everywhere was super clean and maintained. The gardens are immaculate and they were setting up for a wedding on the day we left. The attention to detail was amazing. Comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The food was exquisitely prepared and presented. Definitely the best meal I've had this year. Felt this was good value dinner bed and breakfast package with 2 hours spa thrown in. Would recommend and return with friends and family. It would make a beautiful gift for someone you love.

I had the most glorious two days of utter pampering and comfort! The food was out of this world and the staff were, without exception, unbelievably helpful and accommodating. My room was spotless and luxuriously comfortable – the home-made brownies on the welcome tray a particularly welcome treat! I was lucky enough to book into the Spa for a massage and a facial with Isabel. If all the therapists are that good They are onto a complete winner! The spa is so luxurious and beautiful and I floated out feeling thoroughly restored. I cannot recommend the Norfolk Meade more highly-already planning our next visit.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue than The Norfolk Mead. Not only is the setting absolutely beautiful, but the staff were truly incredible. They were so organised and handled everything behind the scenes perfectly, which meant we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. From start to finish, the whole day ran seamlessly thanks to their professionalism and attention to detail. The food was incredible. The staff in the spa also managed to squeeze us in for the morning after our wedding at very short notice. The spa is absolutely stunning and the experience really topped off our whole weekend so perfectly. We’re so grateful to the whole team at The Norfolk Mead, especially Frankie and Danni for making our day so special! 💗

I took my partner here today for some well deserved rest and relaxation after a very stressful week, and we had the most lovely time. It was a last minute decision to go here, so we unfortunately didn’t manage to book any massages as they were fully booked. However, we had full use of all the facilities such as the swimming pool, steam room, sauna and relaxation room which was lovely. I’d also like to mention how lovely, welcoming and accommodation the staff were too. We were very happy with how clean, modern and beautiful the spa was. They also had everything we needed to hand such as robes, Flipflops, shampoos conditioners etc. We will definitely be coming back very soon, and we cannot wait to try the massage treatments on our next visit ! 💆‍♀️

We had our wedding with the Norfolk Mead on the 23rd of August 2025, and everything went so smoothly. We cannot fault the venue or the amazing team who made our day so special. From our initial enquiry to saying goodbye, we've been treated as VIPs. I highly recommend the Norfolk Mead for both events and also as a wonderful place to visit and stay. Thank you to the team, especially Danni and Frankie, for making all our dreams come true x

Nestled in the charming village of Heydon, conveniently located between Norwich and Holt, is the delightful Heydon Village Tea Room. This quintessential English tea room boasts a picturesque view of the village green and offers a lovely spot to unwind after visiting nearby Blickling Hall. Known for its homemade delights, this independently-run establishment serves an exquisite afternoon tea featuring beautifully crafted cakes, fluffy scones with jam and cream, and a variety of savory sandwiches—all made with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
A wonderful little tea room in a small pretty village. Well worth a visit! My granddaughter was 13 so we booked afternoon tea, and we were not disappointed! The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. It was very busy so I would recommend booking in advance!

A lovely little tea room full of old-fashioned charm with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has full meals, light lunches as well as cakes and scones, and a good selection of drinks. My Dad and I both opted for a fruit scone with jam and clotted cream. The jam was a little jar and really good quality , the clotted cream was delicious and there was plenty of it. The scone was homemade. Dad had a raspberry cordial, which was made with spring water and decorated with 2 fresh raspberries and I had an iced coffee which had a scoop of coffee ice cream in it and whipped cream on top... delicious. The staff were lovely. We sat out in the sunshine taking in the atmosphere of this cute little village. There is a car park literally 1 minutes walk away. A great little tea room highly recommended.

Absolutely love love love this little place. I came with my mum to have some lunch while passing through. The staff were really friendly and did their best to fit us in. The atmosphere was really cheerful and the food was even better. I had the rarebit, chocolate Guinness cake and an iced coffee, all of which were delicious. Props to the kitchen. Other tables had an afternoon tea while we were here, they looked absolutely stunning so will definitely be back to try one for ourselves!! Thank you very much xxx

Great cafe for lunch. We sat outside in the heated pods, and even though it was cold outside we were warm enough in there. We ate sandwiches, a soup, and a jacket potato. My sandwich was delicious and filling, and the side salad was big with lots of different veggies and a nice dressing. I would love to come back and try the sweet treats there too.

Had an afternoon tea with a glass of persseco, and I must admit no complaints at all, it was absolutely delicious, so good that we couldn't manage it all and what we did have left we brought home? And we were given a 🐕 treat as we had two dogs with us, We had warm food as well as cold, but no matter eat if was very nice in deed, you even get a vegetarian option of witch I'm very happy to have as well. Unlimited amount of tea and coffee as well, will have to visit again? This was a birthday present from my daughter and her partner.

What can we say other than excellent. Tea came in a lovely pot with milk and extra water . The whole experience was 10/10 first class. Breakfast restaurant
The Ivy Norwich Brasserie is a stylish and glamorous restaurant and bar located in the heart of the bustling city center, just a stone's throw away from the river. It offers a relaxed yet cosmopolitan vibe, making visitors feel right at home. With its beautiful cocktail bar and sophisticated decor, it's one of the finest establishments in Norwich. The brasserie is known for its all-day dining options, including hearty meals, afternoon tea with delicate treats, and a champagne tea service.
A Fantastic Breakfast Experience at The Ivy Norwich Brasserie. I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Ivy Norwich Brasserie for breakfast with friends and family, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the warm and elegant ambiance set the tone for a delightful meal. The attention to detail in the décor, combined with a welcoming atmosphere, made it a perfect place to start the day. The quality of the food was exceptional, every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The ingredients were clearly fresh, and the care put into preparation was evident. Whether it was the perfectly poached eggs, the freshly baked pastries, or the rich, aromatic coffee, everything exceeded expectations. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making sure we were well looked after without being intrusive. It was clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority here. Considering the quality of food, ambiance, and level of service, The Ivy Norwich Brasserie offers fantastic value for money. It was an experience well worth it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional breakfast or dining experience in Norwich. Be prepared to park in Castel Quarter parking and walk to the Ivy. I will definitely be returning!

The Ivy Brasserie, whatever it's location, rarely disappoints. For some reason, they have been able to secure large premises in prime locations, in the traditional style of French brasseries. The decor is characterised by a blend of classic and contemporary elements, creating a sophisticated and vibrant atmosphere. There is always something for everyone on the menu. This time I ordered the beef fillet with peppercorn sauce, with mashed potatoes and stem broccoli on the side. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The meat was cooked to perfection, the mash divine, and the broccoli fresh and tasty. Service couldn't be faulted, so it was a great evening with exquisite food and drink!

Genuinely blown away in every possible department. Visited for the first time last night and everything was above and beyond, I had salt and pepper tempura squid, sirloin steak followed by frozen berries, my partner has scallops, lobster linguine and then chocolate bombe, and it was almost certainly the best food we have ever eaten, simply superb, my partner also enjoyed the cocktails, the wine list is also extremely extensive. Our server Connor was absolutely fantastic as well.

I visited this restaurant in Norwich and was thoroughly impressed. The ambience stood out immediately—stylish yet comfortable, with a thoughtful layout and decor that create a relaxed but refined atmosphere. It’s the sort of setting that encourages you to take your time and enjoy each part of the experience. The menu offers a strong range of contemporary dishes, catering to a wide variety of tastes. I opted for the chicken, which was cooked to a high standard—tender, well-seasoned and served with accompaniments that complemented the main dish without overwhelming it. The portion size was generous without being excessive, and presentation was clean and modern. A particular highlight was the cotton candy topped icecream. It’s clearly designed to be the showstopper, and it succeeds—visually striking, with balanced flavours and textures. It’s rare to find a dish that manages to be theatrical and genuinely enjoyable to eat, but this one delivered. Service throughout the meal was attentive and polite. Staff were available when needed but never intrusive. They had good product knowledge and made thoughtful recommendations, which added to the overall experience. The restaurant’s location is convenient and easy to access, whether you’re local to Norwich or visiting. Despite its central spot, it maintains a relaxed feel, away from the more crowded parts of the city. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience. The combination of strong food, a well-executed signature dish, professional service, and appealing surroundings makes it a clear standout in Norwich’s food scene. I’ll definitely return and would recommend it to others without hesitation.

Nestled in the picturesque Norfolk countryside, The Orangery Tea Room offers a delightful escape within the enchanting grounds of Ketteringham Hall. This charming venue takes full advantage of its surroundings by sourcing fresh, seasonal ingredients from the nearby Norfolk School of Gardening's Walled Garden. Guests can indulge in a traditional afternoon tea featuring an array of freshly made finger sandwiches, delectable mini scones—both plain and fruity—and an assortment of sweet treats that are sure to satisfy any palate.
came here to celebrate my mum’s birthday and had four traditional afternoon teas with one being vegan, and it was all beautiful! they did amazing with ensuring the vegan dish was identical to the non-vegan so i didn’t miss out on anything, and i was especially happy with the scones! usually vegan ones (i’ve found) are quite crumbly and easy to break, however these ones were warm and stayed together well as well as being packed with fruity / cheesy goodness! the venue is beautiful and looked idyllic with all the orange leaves falling; the staff were very attentive and kind young ladies; and the inside is pretty in decorative!

Myself, my Mum and my 12 year old daughter came to the Orangery for a belated Mothers Day afternoon tea last month and we had a lovely time. The surroundings and grounds are stunning and the food was really tasty. It is quite pricey at £33 a head, however okay for a one off treat. The staff were all very attentive, friendly and very helpful. We sat in the outdoor terraced area which due to the time of year was covered with a marquee, unfortunately it wasn't heated at the time we were there like it stated on the website so we were a tiny bit chilly, however it wasn't too bad once the doors were closed. All in all we had a fabulous afternoon and we look forward to returning :)

The boutique Georgian hall offers 20 luxurious bedrooms with stylish interiors that blend old and new elements. Guests can enjoy delicious afternoon tea, sandwiches, and excellent service at the hotel's bar and restaurant. The hotel also features extensive grounds and woodland for guests to explore.
What can I say , everything was first class from the beginning to the end, Nick looked after us like royalty, his attention to detail was sublime, greeting us, and showing all the hall and all it's beautiful surroundings. Was such a pleasure meeting the chefs as well, so impressed we booked Sunday lunch, and valentine's dinner before we left. can't wait to go back, and this is a venue with food to match that will blow your mind. Just had a great one night stay. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. We had a lovely bedroom overlooking the garden and slept really well. We had a truly incredible dinner at Mark Poynton's restaurant. Breakfast was very good. A bonus was then being able to wander through the garden to the temporary archaeological dig currently there, then walk ten minutes away to the site where there once was a Roman town. The hotel is extremely convenient as a base to visit Norwich - within ten minutes of leaving, we were parked in the city centre. (The recently reopened castle is well worth a visit.) We will definitely return - many thanks to everyone.

Had afternoon tea on a Saturday. We were the only people in the restaurant. The hotel was completely deserted so no atmosphere at all. It wasn't overly warm either. The afternoon tea despite being nice was on the small side. The sandwiches, sausage roll and cheese straw were nice and very tasty although it wasn't a whole sausage roll. We only got one scone each which was VERY small. The cakes were tiny and by the time we got home we were hungry again. We ordered earl grey tea and asked for some milk to come with this which didn't arrive and we then had to chase this up. For £25 I felt this was not value for money. I have had other afternoon teas which cost less and with more food. Possibly trying to be too fancy. The tasting restaurant only had 4 people in so the staff far outnumbered the customers. We won't be hurrying back. The decor is nice and I liked the music being played where we were sat but the whole experience needs fine tuning. I think offering savoury and fruit scones would help, and make sure there is a little more food for £25 charge.

Truly amazing staff before and during our stay. We booked several rooms and a special evening meal for a family Golden Wedding celebration. Danielle at Caistor Hall worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect in our bedrooms (one required oxygen supplies delivered in advance). We were kindly allocated The Rose room for our meal and it was so beautiful. Both Danielle and Luke attended to our entire family with so much care during the meal and our entire stay. Breakfast the following morning in the main dining room was lovely and Michelle was so lovely. Such a quirky building with lots of character.

We stayed there for just one night. After checking in briefly after 6 PM, we went out for a few hours, returned to sleep, and left after breakfast just before 9:15 AM the following morning. That being said, one could argue that I didn't stay long enough to fully experience what the place had to offer. While it had the potential to be great, our experience was marred by a few issues, such as cobwebs and dead insects on and beneath the radiators in the bathroom. Unfortunately, my wife bit into what she described as a stone while eating her vegan breakfast, which she mentioned to the server, who kindly apologized. Another reason I couldn't give a 5 rating was the limited amount of shower gel provided. It was only about 30 ml, barely enough for two adults and a toddler to wash their hands, let alone shower thoroughly upon arrival or the following morning. The Egg Benedict was too salty I'm afraid. I'm not sure if the Michelin Chef has chosen this breakfast menu but definitely sure the standards of the servings can be hugely improved by removing the squash and have a variety other than the oven vegan which tends to dry quickly. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, clean, and room was quiet. *I only included pictures as evidence to help the hotel improve its standards.*

We recently visited for a special birthday meal. We arrived early and had drinks on the beautiful terrace. We then headed into The Rose Room they had kindly given us as a private dining room as we were quite a large group. It was an absolutely gorgeous room, and perfect for the meal (as the children could roam around a little without us having to worry), it was also really lovely and light with the large window in there. The service was spot on (as it always is), but the food... WOW! We had the two course Sunday lunch menu, and the pork was just delicious as was the white chocolate cheesecake. Everyone said they'd had such a wonderful meal. We then headed back out onto the terrace where the children ran around on the lawns, we sat and chatted and had a few more glasses of lovely wine. Honestly, we couldn't have had a better experience, nothing was too much trouble and it was a truly special meal! We're now planning on when we can come back...

The Old Fire Engine House in Ely, England is a welcoming eatery serving British cooking with flair. The restaurant has open fires and artworks for sale, as well as a garden. The food is great, and the atmosphere charming and unique.
Food was delicious. Perfect weekend brunch and lunch spot right in the heart of Ely. Had to make a reservation at least a week in advance for a weekend spot. Only complaint was the small portion, definitely left wanting more! Hoping to go back soon!

The restaurant has a bar, two dining rooms with a kitchen in between, outside seating for those warmer days and a gallery. Artwork adorns the walls, and visitors will wander about the tables whilst you're having your meal. On the day of our visit, the radiators were on full blast, but it was a tad cool. A 2 or 3 course set menu is reasonably priced, available alongside a more varied menu of British classics. When was the last time you saw Liver and Bacon on a menu?! The braised beef in red wine was very tasty but a bit dry. Venison casserole was delicious and served with a selection of vegetables. A large wine list with several good wines by the glass. Desserts - we enjoyed blackberry and apple crumble and chocolate mousse. Both were very good.

Outstanding home cooked british food. Service is good, but the chef is outstanding, some really good traditional fare. I had roast pork with trimmings. Great vegetables. The other members of the party had roast chicken in a white wine sauce and salmon and lemon sauce. All were very good, desert were equally traditional and good.

Spent a genial evening marking a birthday in this special Ely institution. Good idea, Husband. Delicious food, generously portioned. Home cooked recipes with locally sourced ingredients. The wine list? Knockout. Well balanced, well priced and well kept. The surroundings and first floor featured a blizzard of work from Father & Daughter artists, The Corrs. Highly recommend - drop by for a coffee & cake, lunch, dinner.

We hosted our wedding reception of c.60 guests here, and I cannot complement Claire and the team enough! We’ve frequented the OFEH for a number of years as the quality of the food is superb, and when catering for a sit-down meal of this size the quality did not disappoint (many a complement from “foodie” guests) and service didn’t waver. Claire was wonderfully cool headed and could not have been more perfect in her management in the months running-up to and during the reception. They had excellent food options (catering to vegetarian and vegan), knowledgeable recommendations, and were flexible and responsive in terms of how we hosted (we managed to have the champagne/canapés and the end cheese course in their stunning gardens). It was just the ideal ambiance. They really helped make the day utterly perfect and we—and our guests—cannot complement Claire and the team enough for delivering!

Had Sunday Lunch here, our first visit. AMAZING and, considering the Quality & the Location, excellent value. We both had the Pea Veloute (delicious flavour & texture), then both had the Roast Beef - probably our best roast beef dinner EVER, I then had the Creme Bruleé (my favourite dessert. I had a half carafe of an Argentine Malbec. All of the Staff were FANTASTIC, especially Sophie, who made our visit feel special. Thank you to everyone ❤️

We had an absolutely excellent experience dining here. We chose the tasting menu, and every course was outstanding – you could tell so much thought and care had gone into every detail of each dish. Not only did everything taste incredible, but the presentation was beautiful as well. The service was second to none. A special mention has to go to Ellie, who went above and beyond to make our evening truly memorable. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality really elevated the whole experience. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly – a perfect blend of amazing food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

We were out here to celebrate my birthday and hands-down one of the best 1-star Michelin restaurants out there . While the service was exceptional- the food was extraordinary. The experience , the quality of the produce , the temperature of the dishes and the effort of the Chefs was obvious in every dish. It is a must visit if in Norfolk . We are definitely coming back !!!

We went for the 7 course taster meal and it started off so well with lovely canopies in the beautiful garden with its stunning fig trees. Although the food was all locally sourced some of the dishes could have been a bit better we feel as the canopies had so much lovely flavour that some of the other dishes lacked that and were too simple, but that’s our opinion. Staff were amazing with great knowledge of the produce and the wine. I would like to go back to try the proper menu.

I had high hopes for afternoon tea here, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel welcomed. The waitress was not attentive, barely smiled, and came across as quite unfriendly — surprising, especially considering the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite how quiet it was, we were left for long periods without any drinks, and the waitress was nowhere to be seen for most of our visit. It felt like we were completely forgotten. The food itself was OK, nothing special. I've honestly had tastier food at a local garden centre Afternoon tea should feel like a relaxing treat, but this felt more like an inconvenience — for both us and, apparently, the staff. Would not recommend based on this experience.

I have visited Morston hall twice now this year. The first time was Sunday lunch, today for afternoon tea. We were looked after by the waitresses and the food was wonderful. Lovely flavours especially enjoyed the vanilla mousse and apricot cube dessert to finish.

3 of us had the Monday night menu. Everything was delicious, the service excellent and loved the personal touch from the chef himself. Highlights included the canapés, so much flavour packed into one mouthful! Crab and lobster raviolo amazing, the beef main course was tender and delicious. We’ll be back for the full tasting menu next time we’re in Norfolk

I can only comment on Sunday lunch Average at best . On a hot day the conservatory was hot the doors were open hence flies and wasps , was like a battle ground . One couple moved tables . Close the doors and air con . Some tables were asked how they liked their beef others weren’t . Ours came rare for me fine for my wife a Nono . Asked for it to be replaced and well done but the same plate came back with the beef probably grilled and put back on top of the veg. The blood had run through the veg the main left uneaten . In a fine dining establishment this would have been picked up . Seemed confusion with who was having what on multiple tables . We were asked when we wanted the red wine servered we had not ordered any. So on the whole average I understand under new ownership so standards slipping maybe One thing to note took 3 days of calling for the phone to be answered Not good sorry Certainly better places to eat that understand Fine dining Also speaks volumes when no one responds to the reviews both on here and Trip advisor Can’t be bothered attitude

The Lamb Inn, a classic pub from Stonegate Pubs, is a stylish and inviting establishment located in the heart of Norwich city center. It offers upscale pub grub including gourmet burgers and a kids' menu, making it an ideal spot for families. The pub boasts indoor and outdoor seating as well as a lively atmosphere that kids will love.
Nestled away in the middle of the city centre, is this gorgeous pub visually it is stunning, there’s a pink photo booth that’s a bit out of place but still funny to see peoples reactions, I remember coming years and years (perhaps 12) with family and remember the food being much better. We both had burgers and chips which were rather hard and lacking flavour (but still much better than any fast food place in the city)can’t fault the service, staff have great personality and were very friendly. The table we had opted to sit was a benched booth but the bench had arm rests and was massively challenging to get in without pushing the table (think we just chose a bad seat 😂) overall atmosphere great, food average, unlikely to return for food. But nice to return for a drink.

Fantastic pub in heart of Norwich with a brilliant garden. Good range of beers and fantastic team. Verity was super helpful, great service! Had some food from their new menu and hich was all Delish! 🤤

If you're looking for the perfect blend of great food, cold drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere—this place delivers on all fronts. From the moment you walk in, the energy is electric. Massive screens everywhere make it the ultimate sports bar experience—every seat has a great view of the game. The menu is impressive for a pub—definitely more than your typical bar fare. The wings are next-level, the burgers are juicy and perfectly cooked, and the loaded fries? Unreal. You can tell they actually care about the food here, not just the drinks. Speaking of drinks—ice-cold beers on tap, solid cocktails, and a great selection of spirits. Prices are fair, and the staff is friendly, fast, and clearly know how to keep the vibe going, even on a packed game night. Whether you're catching a match with friends, grabbing a bite solo, or just looking for a lively place to unwind, this spot nails it. Definitely a new go-to!

It was busy when I arrived but managed to get a table, lots of seating outside too. Bar staff were very friendly, felt like a nice atmosphere to sit and relax with a drink. Had the chicken and bacon club baguette which was good value, arrived quickly and was very tasty. My only gripe would be it was £6 for a bottle of low alcohol Ghost Ship that a felt was a little pricey. Dog friendly and look forward to visiting again in the future.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Lamb Inn in Norwich. The food was excellent, especially the chicken wings they tasted just like the ones I had back home in Sri Lanka. The pub has a nice atmosphere inside, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the music in the evening made it even better. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the charming market town of Reepham, The Dial House is a luxurious Georgian hotel that transports guests to a bygone era. With only eight uniquely designed rooms inspired by the Grand Tour, visitors can experience themes ranging from a Parisian garret to an Italian palace. This Grade II listed establishment offers an intimate dining experience where you can savor home-cooked meals beside a cozy wood burner.
The Natural History room was lovely - very cosy and romantic. Huge bathroom. Loved the patio in the sun. The generous breakfast arrangement with the bakery and cafe downstairs worked really well - I recommend the granola, and cardamom bun! We will have to stay again on a night when the bar and pizzeria are open, as they looked nice.

The Italian Palace room was well presented, clean and luxurious. Our only complaint was that there is a window without curtains/blind so we both woke up at 5am to light filling the room (hopefully an easy fix). The key code entrance was convenient and the room had a decent stock of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Breakfast at bread sauce was nice enough, though as other reviewers have mentioned, the supply of fruit was poor (an old banana and a few apples). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay; thank you dial house team.
Chris W — Google review
The Dial House @ Reepham is a wonderful boutique style hotel with 8 themed rooms. We stayed in the Print Room during our recent visit. The room was a good size, very comfortable bed and nice amenities, including plenty of bottled water, fridge, tea and coffee facilities (and real milk!). The bathroom was great, as was the water pressure and temperature. Breakfasts are provided by Bread Source who host a small outlet in the hotel. For breakfasts you can select a savory, a sweet, fruit and drink (hot or cold) - perhaps a bit of flexibility on this as not everyone wants a sausage roll for breakfast...though many choose to take-away to eat later (we did), on another day sandwiches were available to select. In general the facilities at the hotel are good, the WIFI did go out but was fixed a day later. The hotel also does offer a pizza service Thursday-Saturday which needs to be booked. We availed ourselves of the bar for excellent cocktails. The staff were all very polite and professional making our long weekend stay thoroughly pleasant. There is parking available outside, for a max of 90 minutes, but the free carpark is 100 yards away, though it gets busy when there is a food festival in the market square. The area around Reepham is beautiful with plenty to see and do.

Absolutely lovely stay at The Dial House. We stayed in the Natural History room it was superb, bi folding doors opening to a perfect size courtyard where we ate our breakfast, large bathroom, fantastic shower, towels large and soft. Great super king bed with white bedding. Breakfast from the inside bakery was great, best sausage rolls & cheese straws I’ve eaten in long time, staff helpful & friendly. Can’t recommend a stay here enough.

This is our third time and we will definitely be back again soon. Every room we have stayed in has been beautiful, spotlessly clean and the beds are the best I have ever slept in. The breakfast pastries are delicious. We just love it. Our new go-to place when we come to Norfolk. Thank you.

We stayed in the Italian Palace room for 2 nights - the room was lovely - very spacious, lots of storage space, comfortable bed, bath and rain shower - just perfect. We were woken up early by various deliveries which was unfortunate. Breakfast, whilst lovely (try the tomato and fennel sausage rolls! - best I have ever tasted), was minimal. Some cooked options would have been great, scrambled eggs on toast maybe?

Harriets Cafe Tearooms in Norwich offers a traditional English experience with a beautiful tearoom. They have five unique teas and offer free teapot refills with special or savoury afternoon teas. The tearoom aims to create a nostalgic feel, offering four different afternoon tea options: miniature, savoury, special, and celebration. There's also the option to add champagne or prosecco for extra fizz. The inviting interior captures the essence of a traditional English tearoom.
Lovely and spacious inside with outdoor seating available. Plenty of choice from cakes, brunches, lunches and light bites. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful

Visited for coffee and cake. Staff were attentive and place looked lovely. The carrot cake slice was very generous and delicious. However, my wife was not happy with the cappuccino and I was not at all happy with my coffee. I ordered a double espresso. The taste was unpleasant; more like a bitter Americano with no layer of cream that you would expect from a decent espresso. Moreover, I noticed on the bill that I was charged £5 for it. The price on the menu for a large espresso I believe was £3.45. Didn't mention it at the time as we needed to go and I had already drank most of it. Perhaps the coffees are not the forte. Perhaps we're used to much better quality in the vicinity. Nevertheless felt very let down.

Ooooo…lovely! Harriet’s cafe tearooms offer a fantastic afternoon tea and many other delicious treats. The breakfast is beautiful and it’s a lovely place to stop for a cake and coffee. Service is brilliant with great seating options. When the sun is shining the best seats are outside. The staff are very helpful. We were also offered coronation chicken as a sandwich filler which made one of our small people very happy. The other two were there mostly for the cake. They were not disappointed

Nestled in the heart of Holt, The Owl Tea Rooms is a delightful tearoom that captures the essence of charm and nostalgia. Established in 1929, this quaint spot features mismatched china and wooden seating reminiscent of the Victorian era, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Guests can indulge in traditional cream teas or savor an array of homemade cakes and pastries. With options ranging from sandwiches to paninis, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
I really loved this place! I came here on our last day on holiday in Norfolk and it did not disappoint. They have a huge menu and everyone I was with thoroughly enjoyed what they had to eat and drink. The Swiss hot chocolate was new for me and lovely and creamy and sweet - it felt quite decadent and had just the right amount of almond. My breakfast was also really good- I and the sweet potato avocado and bacon on toast. The bacon and egg were delicious and full of flavour. I added on a sausage which was the same high quality taste. I would suggest swapping the sweet potato for normal toast as it wasn’t that crispy and a bit bland. The staff were friendly and joked along with us which was really nice. You can have dogs in the outside area and they offered us blankets as it was a surprisingly cold day. The outside area is a bit basic and dreary but inside looked really cosy and inviting. I would definitely come back (without a dog this time!).

If you’re in Holt then pay this cafe a visit. Great food and service. Carrot and coriander soup with warm cheese scone was spot on. Went down a treat.

The Owl tea rooms and bakery are well worth a visit. Staff are friendly, service is really good and the food is all made on the premises and is delicious. Coffee is really good and the milkshakes are in a league of their own. On this visit I tried the cheese and Marmite crumpet and the beef chilli bowl. Both were really tasty. The crumpet had just enough Marmite to please afficionados without being overpowering and the chilli in the beef gave background heat, rather than a kick allowing the beef and other ingredients to come through. But no visit to the owl would be complete without a delicious pastry from the bakery. Plenty of good cafes in Holt and the Owl is among the very best. Well worth a return visit. Kevin Delaney

Had a lovely lunch at The Owl Tea Rooms today. The menu is quite extensive so don't be fooled by it being described as a tea room. Also dog friendly. We sat in the marquee in the garden so even if it had rained we would have been protected. A dish of water was provided for the dogs and our order was taken by a charming young woman. The food was delicious!! And reasonably priced. It was a lovely experience and I can highly recommend a visit to THE OWL TEA ROOMS.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Potter Heigham, Bridgestones is a delightful dining spot that welcomes families and their furry companions. Originally established in Wroxham back in 1980, this charming eatery relocated to its current location in 2016. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, it’s an ideal choice for family meals where kids can indulge in scrumptious homemade cakes.
Me and my friend reserved a table, which was ready when we arrived. We were seated straight away and offered tea or coffee. We chose Decaf tea, which arrived very quickly in a teapot for 2. The tea filled 4 cups, then we were given another teapot after, from another staff member. All staff were friendly and helpful. We had reserved a table for afternoon tea (see pictures for food and look). The food was exceptional. The amount of food given and the quality - can't fault any of it. (When booking they ask what type of sandwich you would like and if there are any dietary requirements). The cafe was nicely decorated and clean. The seats were comfortable and there was a lot of natural light. The price was reasonable and would go back. There is a free large car park across the road to park in (not sure if you have to go into Lathams whilst there, but we did anyway). There is also a nice walk to do nearby and cute ducks outside. The cafe also sells duck-food for 75p per bag, so you can also feed all the ducks (which we also did). The place is easy to find and has an easily accessible entry and easy to get around when inside. 10/10

We decided to stop here after a nice walk at the beach. On entry I was immediately aware of the crammed seating arrangement. I think the tables have been dangerously crammed in! I asked to sit on a table which is likely for 8 as it was to the side and away from crammed area. I was told no as only four of you. I was quite offended when halfway through my meal another group of 4 were sat there and there plenty of tables for 4 available. Food was good, my only complaint was that the hunters burger was drowning in bbq sauce which made it very messy and hard to eat. A big issue for me is when restaurants use sauces in sachets, why! Unenjoyable to open and not great for the environment. Would I come here again? no, the crammed seats is too much and greedy on the owners part.

Five stars does not seem adequate in this instance. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea at BridgeStones but it is the staff who truly made the experience special. Nothing – and I do mean nothing – was too much trouble for them and the chef bent over backwards to come up with creative solutions to dietary restrictions of a member of our group. If you are in the area you will kick yourselves if you don’t stop in at least once.

Very pleasant olde worlde cafe. The ambiance is very quaint with wooden tables, old fashioned decor etc but it works really well in the location. Only came for coffee and a humongous slice of millionaire flapjack both of which were delicious. They also do reasonably priced breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers, Sunday roasts, afternoon tea. They have a dog friendly garden room attached as well. Well worth a visit especially if you have been visiting Lathams next door and fancy something different to their cafe.

The place was easy to find, clean, dog friendly and bright. The food was okay, portion size was good. Service can be improved though. Tried calling the staff multiple of times but no one noticed. Went to the counter twice to get our second order through.

Good cheese scones, mediocre coffee. Most tables are for 6 so staff at the counter seemed reluctant to let 2 of us sit until we suggested other people could share our table (and the place was only half full). Then the card payment gadget asks if you want to pay 10,15 or 25% service charge... I skipped that because a waitress, though pleasant, only had to deliver 2 coffees and scones to our table and we only took up 15 mins in a half empty cafe. Sorry but we won't be going back to this unwelcoming place despite the good scones.

After 25 years my Husband confided that he'd never had a traditional Afternoon Tea. So, as a good wife, I selflessly agreed to take him to Hatters Tea Shop while we were on holiday in Cromer. Obviously, it was a sacrifice on my part, as I can't imagine anything worse than a table full of delicious treats and endless cups of tea, but you know how we wives are, always giving & never thinking of ourselves. Tragically, he really enjoyed it, and is now planning on taking me out for Tea on my birthday, how ever will I cope! If you too are forced to endure exceptional cakes, delicious sandwiches and sublime scones, then I can highly recommend Hatters. The staff were all very sympathetic to my plight and even boxed up the delicacies he couldn't manage, which I was generous enough to help him finish later that day.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and delicious dinner. The room was very comfortable and lots of amenities to make it a really pleasant stay. So peaceful and even a free electric charging point. Unfortunately it was let down by the breakfast. The cold buffet table wasn’t replenished, the service wasn’t as good as in the evening and our poached eggs were hard, sausages could have been better quality.

We have just come back from spending a night at the Titchwell Manor. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. The room was brilliant, the food at the restaurant was superb with an extensive wine card and the staff was helpful and welcoming. We will certainly return.

We had a lovely stay in a room with hot tub. Great food that was fresh and good quality. Service was attentive and we really enjoyed our stay. Only small pieces, the hot tub is just a 'hot tub' so hot water with no jets so bear that in mind. You may need to walk from the garden to the restaurant so flat shoes are helpful!

Fantastic room and a lovely stay Shame general guests were sidelined by a wedding. Bar seating and ordered two mains and received one. Disappointed the white table cloths have disappeared. Breakfast was disappointing so settled for the buffet. Will definitely return but sad they have lost their attention to detail

This is the seventh time we have visited. It is a beautiful little hotel with great service and lovely food. However my only criticism is if you stay for more than two nights and choose to dine there, they do not change the menu . We stayed four nights and did not want the same food every night. Fair enough if they do not want to change the menu but surely if it alternated daily for three or four nights more clients would be inclined to fine there. Having said this we will be returning. But please change the menu

Didn't stay, just stopped for some breakfast before going on a walk. Staff were incredibly nice and friendly and breakfast was lovely Even brought our dog a bowl of sausages!

Nice old building, dropped in for a cuppa, dog friendly area was pleasant, we felt the seating area was slightly cluttered with very large furniture, some rearranging needed to accommodate smaller groups. Service was good.

If you find yourself in the charming coastal town of Hunstanton, make sure to stop by Berni Beans for a delightful experience. Not only can you indulge in their exquisite selection of freshly made sandwiches and delectable desserts, but they also offer the option to hire vintage crockery—perfect for any special occasion like weddings or parties.
Spent my mums birthday here and now my own. It’s always a pleasure visiting this cafe. Lovely food, lovely staff and brilliant atmosphere.

This lovely vintage tea room is a must try when visiting Hunstanton. The menu offers something for everyone, not just tea and cake lovers - Although their cream tea is now up there with one of my favourites! All staff were friendly, very accommodating and had a great sense of humour making everyone feel welcome. Thank you Berni Beans, I will definitely be back next time I'm in Hunstanton.

While on holiday in Hunstanton we booked a Mini afternoon tea Baby Shower at Bernie Beans. We highly recommend the friendly, personal service and the quality of the food was fantastic. Lovely sandwiches and cakes in a lovely nostalgic environment. Thanks both for a brilliant and memorable get together ❤️

We went to Bernie Beans today Sunday 24th August for a mini afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary with our guide dog puppy. Absolutely brilliant. Excellent fresh, tasty food. Amanda and her young male assistant (who is a wonderful credit to her) went beyond normal to make sure our afternoon was perfectly comfortable, non intrusive but attentive with a delicious selection of sandwiches, snacks and sweet dessert choices. Plenty of tea and food delivered in an extremely attractive and professional way. Thank you X

Amanda and team took care of the food and service for my Dad’s wake and what an amazing service they provided! So much thought to the detail, the food and ingredients used were top quality and the service provided was so kind and caring right through from discussing the menu to the service on the day. We had the most amazing Hog Roast buffet with cakes to follow. I would never second thought using Berni Beans again … everything was fantastic and all the guests said so. Thank you so much Amanda and team x

White Horse Upton is a historic community-owned pub that has been serving locals and visitors since 1798. It stands out as the only pub on the Norfolk Broads owned and operated by the community, ensuring a warm and friendly atmosphere. The pub offers a variety of real ales, wines, and freshly prepared pub food. Its large beer garden provides an ideal setting to enjoy drinks and lite bites while soaking up the sunshine.
Great beer garden for the summer. Real ales and good food. Local shop next door. Sandwiches are good value. Dog friendly. Nice walks close by.

What a wonderful pub in the middle of a little village on the Norfolk Broads. A community owned establishment that looked like it was being run by hard working young adults (great to see). We were greeted as soon as we arrived and were shown to our booked table once we'd chosen our drinks (good ale and cider selection). The food was fantastic. And so much of it. Portion sizes were fabulous. You will not go hungry here. The only food complaint (and this is merely my own taste criticism) was the Korean chicken burger wasn't very Korean in flavour. The chicken itself was cooked better than any chicken burger I've ever had but there was no spice. There was a function on, which made the place very busy and they only had the one payment machine working which led to a long delay in leaving after our food but what a gem of a place. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their food and I cannot recommend it enough. Also, very dog friendly

My Favourite roast dinner in Norfolk! I come here every month with my nan and every time I’m reminded how much I love the roast dinners at the white horse. Every time I go elsewhere I’m always comparing the great value for money in Upton. The turkey roast is always delicious. Plus the staff are attentive and friendly. Will always be coming back.

I’ve enjoyed many great meals at the White Horse when visiting a relative in Acle, most recently in May. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming, the food is always excellent and the prices remain incredibly reasonable. The fish and chips is comfortably one of the best I’ve had in a pub. Highly recommended!

What a lovely community owned pub. Very welcoming from the start we had a few rounds before the food menu was active. Once food was ordered we didn’t have a long wait but was well worth the short wait time. Absolutely incredible food. Party of 6 and not one complaint on any of the food all cooked to perfection. Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻👍🏻 Even better knowing it’s a community owned pub.

Made to feel very welcome. Staff lovely. Food exceptional, well worth the wait to know we were getting freshly cooked food to a high standard. Our table ordered sausage and mash, 2 x liver and bacon, 2 x steak & ale pie. All were of quality produce, cooked perfectly. The best meal we have had this week going round The Broads

Situated within walking distance of renowned restaurants like Titchwell Manor and The Ship in the neighboring village of Brancaster, it offers easy access to various dining options.
We stayed in room 19 which was outstanding. Very spacious, spotless, good value for money. The other facilities were amazing, relaxing, peaceful and just a great place to stay. We had an evening meal and the beef & ale pie, absolutely delicious. Breakfast was perfect; hot croissant, then eggs Benedict and toast. We couldn’t fault it. All in all a perfect place to stay, close to fabulous walks, beaches. The staff were very courteous and professional. We would highly recommend it.

Lovely Stay in a Great Location We recently stayed at Briarfields Hotel in Titchwell and were very impressed overall. The location is fantastic — perfectly placed for exploring the local area and enjoying the beautiful Norfolk coastline. Our room was spacious, well furnished, and spotlessly clean, making it a very comfortable base. For the quality and space provided, we felt it was excellent value for money. The food was good and nicely presented, though not quite outstanding — more solid than spectacular. That said, we certainly enjoyed our meals here. The hotel is run by a hardworking young team, and it’s clear they put a lot of effort into looking after guests. A few of the staff could perhaps be a little more cheerful — I wasn’t sure if it was tiredness or that they weren’t enjoying their work — but overall, service was friendly and helpful. In short, a great place to stay in a prime location, offering good value, comfortable rooms, and a generally warm welcome.

Lovely place for a drink and a pub lunch, absolutely massive area for children to play, best I've seen. Only marking down a star as the vegetarian options are very limited and they don't offer any vegetarian sandwiches. But the onion baji burger was delicious.

Had a fantastic meal here with the family at the end of a long day around the North Norfolk coast. Portion size very generous plus the kids menu was great to see different options other than just a burger. Staff very friendly, large car park with a great outdoor area for the kids.

We visited for a special birthday. Paul was friendly and helpful with a cake that I had taken along for the birthday celebrations. We had afternoon tea, the quality of the food is very good and presented well. Sausage roll and cheese straws in the savoury selection. The gluten-free stack had 2 scones. The traditional had one scone. The jam and cream pots needed more in them. We had to ask for additional jam and cream. We also asked for more scones as we felt one wasn't enough. We were charged for these until I asked why we had been charged. Then, the additional cost was removed. The other cakes were delicious in the stack. In my opinion, you need 2 scones in traditional afternoon tea. Some of the waitresses hardly spoke and definitely didn't smile.
Susan P — Google review
Great location. Convenient room with adjacent parking. Most staff friendly but don’t recommend eating more than breakfast. Dinner menu selection is poor and delivery is worse. Could not eat my main course tonight even with a generous helping of sauce to mask the taste. Pulled pork over spiced and degenerated into an unappetising mess accompanied by undercooked chips. Burger bread boring and uninviting. Lettuce shredded so fine it got lost in the mayonnaise and was a further mushed mess. Chocolate tart so firm one needed more than the single spoon offered To break into it. Chasing ice cream around the oversized plate as it melted. Suspect a falsely exotically described menu in reality masks cheap ingredients poorly delivered. Feel the food on offer is a poor comparison with the room offering and really lets the experience of staying here down as one seeks a decent evening meal after a day in the fresh air.
Anne T — Google review
I stayed here recently as part of a birding holiday group. Overall I found the hotel to be nice with friendly staff but in all honestly they seem a bit understaffed. The service for our meals was very inconsistent. This often left the group feeling rushed as we had to meet our trip guide by a specific time. Additionally, the vegan options were very limited and what was offered to me in terms of choice wasn't great. It should be said that most of the meat eaters in my group enjoyed the food they ordered.
Charlotte W — Google review
Excellent food. Probably the best Greene King pub I’ve ever been to. Only gripe was they didn’t clear out plates after the starters so the kitchen didn’t know we were ready for mains and there was a delay

Fantastic shop! So unique and me and my husband tried their special drinks! Amazing! I have the toad and he had some Magnus drink. Both delicious! Although my husband's was very strong! Could only handle a sip! The cafe has 2 levels of seating. Metal stairs to access 2nd level and the toilets are on the 3 rd but the stair case is very steep. There are baby changing facilities in the ladies toilet but again, lots of steep stairs. But the bathrooms are as unique as the rest of the shop! Very friendly staff who allowed us to bring our dog in too. Thank you Alchemista for a great treat!!! Xx

To me it is the best coffee in Norwich. Flat white with oat milk! omg ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Very stylish place..with all time beautiful details, decorations, lovely people working there. They are busy all the time. You can sit outside, upstairs, take away. For hungry people options too. Definitely come again!
Petra T — Google review
We took a friend here for her birthday, decided on Afternoon Tea. For me and one friend it was an effort as we had to a) go upstairs and b) the restroom was up another flight of stairs. So definitely not disabled friendly BUT that is down to it being an old building. There is a little space downstairs or they can do takeaway so don't totally discount here if you're "stair challenged" The staff were lovely, decor interesting and the coffee delicious! I would says it's an average selection and now we've been I would think to ask for any pickle or condiments to be served separate from the sandwiches. I didn't order so I don't know if other breads are an option, been a while since I've had white bread but then sometimes egg mayo tastes so much nicer in white bread! 😁 The cakes were very nice and, I believe, made on the premises. Not sure where they sourced their strawberries but they were divine! Definitely worth a visit and don't be afraid to ask the questions when booking.

The 21 spacious rooms feature a contemporary Scandi-chic design, with options like Water Meadow and Mill Stream rooms for dog-owners, Loft Suites with luxurious amenities for couples, and freestanding chalets with wood-fired cedar hot tubs and countryside views.
We’ve stayed at Tuddenham multiple times over the past few years and loved it so much that we recently had our wedding there. It was the perfect day. The staff were amazing and ensured the day went smoothly. The food was delicious, all our guests agreed. And the venue itself just looked stunning. Big thank you to Michaela for helping us plan the day in the months leading up, we couldn’t have done it without you. I have no doubt we’ll be staying here as much as we can over the years to come, it’s a very special place for us. Thank you Tuddenham!

Tuddenham Mill is a peaceful, luxurious countryside escape — and the team made our stay unforgettable. We met Elisha before our stay - she was kind, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Anna gave us the warmest welcome and got us off to the perfect start. In addition Sienne and Josh who worked over the weekend of our stay, were friendly and attentive — joining in our conversations about how magical the Mill was and is especially at Christmas. Maryan and Will, the chefs, delivered food that was truly exceptional. Beautiful presentation, stunning flavours, and thoughtful combinations. They cater carefully to dietary needs too, which gave me real peace of mind. Every meal really did feel like an “unforgettable experience.” Stacy and the housekeeping team kept the rooms immaculate and always greeted us warmly — such a lovely energy from everyone. Highly recommend Tuddenham Mill for relaxation, excellent service, and food that genuinely impresses. ✨ A retreat for reset, relaxation, and rejuvenation; also perfect for intimate occasions.

From the moment we arrived at Tuddenham Mill, we were captivated by the absolutely scenic and peaceful surroundings. Nestled in the beautiful countryside, the setting alone made the experience feel like a true escape from everyday life. The food was, without a doubt, out of this world — every dish was a perfect balance of creativity, flavor, and presentation. You can really tell the chefs here put passion and expertise into every plate. The service was just as impressive. The waiters were so kind, attentive, and professional, always there when you needed them without ever feeling intrusive. Their warmth and attention to detail made the entire evening even more special. Tuddenham Mill truly exceeded every expectation. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in a stunning location. We can’t wait to come back!

Wanted to get that 'luxury' stay feeling on our four night break, but the mill stream room was a bit disappointing. Firstly, it's only fair to compliment all the staff for their professionalism and the breakfast was superb on all four mornings. The venue was pleasant and parking was good. The large bed was very comfortable and the complimentary toiletries and sloe gin were much appreciated. Now the negatives of our stay. The bathroom had a strong damp smell, the mini fridge door was broken, the television signal was poor and the room lacked any drawers. The room was very basic, although the bathroom was of a good standard the damp smell was off-putting. All in all the room was not luxury and that's a shame.
Clyde S — Google review
Bed was comfy but rooms showing age with stains and chips on furniture and fittings. Breakfast was so so, the vegetarian option swimming in water from the very wet spinach and cold veggie sausages. Not a bad deal but even the country pubs do on a par or better for same money.

NOT 5 STAR HOTEL SERVICE! Recently stayed for one night. Checked on the Sunday afternoon, the lady on reception was very polite, friendly and helpful. We requested room service breakfast for the next morning, completed the sheet and handed it in to the bar the evening before as requested. We waited for half an hour after the requested delivery time but there was no sign of it arriving. Phoned through to reception who where not the most helpful, they called back 5 minutes later to take the order as clearly the sheet had been lost! No apology or acknowledgement of this on the phone, at delivery or checkout. The only reason I have given 2 stars for service is due to the lady who checked us in on Sunday afternoon. The suite and the hotel grounds were lovely.

what a fantastic hotel this is. A massive shout out to Oliver, Isla and the other blonde long hair girl whose name i forget. she saved me as my blood sugars were low and I needed a urgent orange juice. she understood the urgency and did it immediately food was absolutely incredible! There are no words to describe it properly. One of the best meals I have ever had Had a beautiful small double room overlooking the garden. Room was very comfortable including the bed and pillow (again the best I have stayed in) Oliver was very friendly on arrival, and showed me to my room. Unfortunately I suffered a migraine in the early hours and felt quite unwell so stayed until check out time and didn't have the breakfast Unfortunately but if it's anything to go by dinner service I am sure it's incredible! Will be definitely coming back for my sisters 40th Birthday next year

We visited Beechwood at end end of August and was welcomed by Isla who was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food here was absolutely 1st class, could not have had any better, probably the best we have had anywhere in a long time. Unfortunately though what really spoilt our stay was the bed. It was much too soft, I felt like we were touching the base when we got in, which meant my husband made up a bed on the floor and had a much better nights sleep than I did. Other guests we spoke to also said the same thing. Such a shame as we would love to visit again for the food, but would not because of the sleeping arrangements.
Sue T — Google review
Spacious room, excellent food (although we found the sauces a little bland for our taste) and absolutely exemplary service from everyone. The hotel says that "Hugh and Emma ....pride ourselves on giving our guests a relaxing, unforgettable experience". Unfortunately the relaxing experience was spoilt by; an owner allowing their dog to run free in the garden and around the hotel when she was in the restaurant, dogs barking in the room when left and a couple being allowed to eat their full dinner in the garden (where their dog proceeded to bark throughout the meal disturbing everyone in and overlooking the garden). You see many places saying "well behaved dogs are welcome", but unfortunately very few have the strength to stand up to the poorly behaved dogs and the published rules. Thankfully, dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. So, mostly relaxing, but, I'm afraid the stay will be remembered for the wrong reasons.

Jarrolds is a renowned independent department store in Norwich, offering a diverse range of products including fashion, furniture, beauty, books, gifts and kitchenware. The store is known for its in-store deli that offers local and regional produce. Visitors can also enjoy tapas-inspired sharing plates at the hip and lively restaurant East Twenty Six. With a history dating back to 1823, Jarrolds provides a unique shopping experience with a blend of heritage and contemporary offerings.
So much on offer here and such a beautiful building, they never disappoint us each year with their Christmas displays this year wrapping the whole building in a giant red gift bow which looks amazing. I very much like how they support local small creators and businesses I was blown away to see so many lovely local stalls on the 2nd floor for their Christmas market ,this was lovely to see so many handmade local gifts. Huge floors filled to the brim with such a varied selection of goods. Something for everyone here and they have a bar and restaurant inside too just brilliant. Always enjoy my visits ,friendly helpful staff too✨

Exceptional family run department store with a history dating back to 1770. Excellent range of high quality product lines under one roof, from fashion and furniture to books and toys. The food hall is a particular highlight, beautifully presented and with an outstanding range of quality products. A small café in the food hall and a larger restaurant upstairs offer a nice selection of refreshments and lunch options, with sandwiches and cooked lunches prepared to order. Busy in early afternoon but didn't have to wait too long - a nice change from London! The store, completed in 1823, is a really unusual building and an architectural treat. Nice to see that well behaved dogs are welcome everywhere inside except for the food and drinks areas.

Jarrolds Department Store in Norwich: A Delightful Shopping Experience From the moment I stepped through the doors of Jarrolds, I knew I was in for something truly special. This iconic department store exudes a sense of warmth and charm that is hard to find in today's retail landscape. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an impressive array of high-quality merchandise, meticulously curated to cater to every taste and need. The staff, with their infectious smiles and unparalleled knowledge, are the true stars of the show. They go above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels welcomed and valued, making the shopping experience truly exceptional. One of the highlights of my visit was the delightful cream tea I indulged in at one of the store's charming cafes. The scones were perfectly baked, the clotted cream was decadent, and the atmosphere was simply delightful. It's the kind of experience that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. But Jarrolds offers much more than just exceptional retail and dining experiences. The furniture department is a true gem, showcasing a stunning selection of high-quality pieces that cater to every style and budget. And the fashion departments, both for women and men, boast an impressive array of fashionable and on-trend offerings, making it easy to find the perfect outfit. In fact, I could have easily spent an entire day exploring the wonders of Jarrolds, from the impressive fish restaurant to the countless nooks and crannies that hold hidden treasures. This department store is a true gem, a place where the art of shopping is elevated to an experience that is both enjoyable and unforgettable. If you find yourself in Norwich, do yourself a favor and visit Jarrolds. It's a testament to the power of exceptional customer service, high-quality merchandise, and a genuine commitment to creating a truly special shopping experience.

What a place, absolutely fantastic, Jarrolds has been at the centre of Norwich for many years, you can easily spend a few hours looking around and having lunch. I had a carvery for £13.95 a dessert for £4.70 and a coffee for £3.20. If you had the same in any pub it would have come to at least £30.00. Definitely visit, just don't take the wife or you will leave skint.

Lunch Experience at Jarrod’s Pantry Today, I had the pleasure of enjoying my favorite pie for lunch at Jarrod’s top-floor Pantry restaurant. At first, I was ready to leave as I wasn't in the mood for another carvery. However, I spotted the steak and kidney pie on the menu and couldn’t resist! I went back to the counter and chose a delightful meal of boiled and roasted potatoes with fresh vegetables, paired with a refreshing bottle of mango juice. The pie was generously filled with steak and kidney, and the potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. It truly made for an enjoyable meal! In total, my lunch cost £17.30, which kept me satisfied for the rest of the day. Jarrod’s is a relatively large restaurant, quite popular with the older generations. The staff-to-customer ratio is nearly always spot on, ensuring excellent service. Plus, there are several car parks within walking distance, making it an ideal place to meet up with friends or, like I did today, enjoy a meal alone.

My husband's new favourite shop! Love the little bars throughout the store on every level. Highly recommend the seafood bar. Some really nice pieces to buy throughout the store. The girls are really friendly on the makeup counters too..

Big thanks to Jo working on woman's wear on Thursday this week. You helped me so much with my wedding outfit. You made me laugh, and you introduced me to shoes I thought I'd never try on! Thank you for suggesting other options, for collecting items from other departments for me and generally being very lovely. Fabulous experience, I will return.

Lovely garden centre and restaurant. Great selection of plants and garden ornaments. Stopped for lunch in the restaurant on Sunday had a lovely beef roast and a Eaton mess for desert. The roast was one of the best I've had in a long time. The staff were all lovely and very accommodating when a group of Wasps decided to come and join us for lunch

Visited Green Pastures for the first time today and was so pleasantly surprised! We had their afternoon tea selection and we were really impressed with the quality and selection of items that were included. Highly highly reccomend visiting here for afternoon tea and looking forward to returning to try more of the menu! Great looking garden centre too with a lovely range of plants etc. Thanks again! (Picture is after we had eaten a few bits already 🤣)

A great selection of plants and pots at reasonable prices. The cafè/restaurant is clean specious and well run. Staff are lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit . We bought bits for the garden and enjoyed lunch. Our meals arrived quickly and were delicious. There is also a good selection of cakes to choose from as well as hot and cold drinks. 10/10.

Possibly the nicest roast dinner I’ve had that wasn’t made ‘at home’. Food was great quality and was a great portion size. Veg cooked perfectly and all nicely seasoned! The rum & raisin ice cream was also incredible - highly recommend! Decent prices and friendly staff. Would definitely go back when next in Norfolk!

Met up with family for a mid week lunch date. Lovely friendly staff, and great service. The food was delicious. Jacket potato with lamb kofta - unusual filling but very very tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 2 x quiches - clear plates from picky eaters said it all. Scampi and chips - another hit and clean plate. No room for any pudding, we took some cakes home for later. We will come again. Definitely recommend.

We have to say our afternoon tea at Green Pastures was truly amazing. Everything on our cake/savoury stand was a taste sensation. We are both vegetarian, (we do eat fish). Although we do eat fish, there were no fish items on our stand, which was no problem because the food was so varied. Wonderful food/service, what more could you ask for. We would highly recommend Green Pastures. The price is very reasonable too, when compared to another place in the city centre.

The team provided excellent service. The pork belly roast was exceptional, with the meat possessing a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while the roast potatoes maintained their crispness even when the gravy was poured over. The cauliflower puree was also well-received, and the farm shop brownies were outstanding. We appreciate the positive experience.

Petals Tea Room is a dog-friendly spot that's perfect for a post-walk stop after visiting Sandringham or Snettisham Beach. They offer a variety of high teas, including options like English Rose and Forget-Me-Not, ensuring there's something for everyone. Even the little ones can enjoy a Candytuft children's afternoon tea with dainty sandwiches and sweet treats.
A wonderful tea room - highly recommend. Lovely service, with very accommodating staff and a good range of fresh food and home made cakes. We enjoyed the lite brekkie, ploughmans, coronation chicken sandwich plus pistachio cake, and walnut cake. Only very minor comment is they the sandwich could have done with a touch more filling. Coffee and tea options were great. Dog and child friendly too, with some local wares for sale inside.

Been coming here for a long time , however owner does not recognise you as repeat customer. Order dressed cromer crab what arrived was in a scallop shell and was warm as if been microwaved. No potatoes as advertised and very poor salad . Returned and had no apology. My partner order the 3 for £15 dish ordered pate expecting chicken liver and received mackerel sat on two pieces of hard bread. Paid the bill still no apology, will not return ever and recommend others to stay away .

Lovely friendly cafe/coffee shop, service was warm and swift, food was delicious. Coffee was great and all very reasonably priced, kids menu is great and our little boy enjoyed the selection of toys and books

We selected Petals as a venue for our group breakfast this morning after doing Sandringham parkrun. Richard was very flexible with numbers and deposits were completely reasonable. Richard and his staff was attentive and looked after us well during our time spent at Petals this morning. Tables were organised well so we were all sat together and our food served was delicious and of high quality- top chef Deborah. Many thanks to you all.

Great visit to this gorgeous dog-friendly tearoom today for a light lunch. The service was excellent and our four legged friend was made to feel as welcome as were. The food was great as were the coffees. The pot of tea for two was presented in a fabulous tea pot with vintage style cups, cutlery and crockery. The cake selection was extensive and beautifully laid out and of course we had to try some - I only wish I had bought more to take home. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Absolutely fantastic! We had one vegan and one gluten free afternoon tea, which were both delicious. The scones especially were phenomenal. Contacted Petals on the off chance that they might have options available for us yesterday and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The owners are lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely experience x

Cafe
The Ber Street Kitchen, located on Ber Street, is a charming and unique cafe that offers a delightful breakfast and brunch menu. Their Pancake Day special includes fluffy American-style pancakes with various toppings such as classic maple syrup, maple syrup with streaky bacon, or berry compote with Greek yogurt and honey. They also have a vegan option featuring berry compote, banana, and maple syrup.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover this charming, dog-friendly eatery that has been popular for seven years! I decided to try their vegetarian breakfast, which included vegan sausages, paired with a luxury cup of hot chocolate for my brunch, all for a reasonable £15. Despite the staff being rushed off their feet, they remained polite, efficient, and accommodating. The portions were very generous and will definitely keep me satisfied for the rest of the day. Although the restaurant is located on a busy road, there are several parking meters and a multistory car park nearby. Luckily, I found a free parking spot just across the street. I want to give a special shout-out to Alarna, who waited on my table!

We went there for breakfast and tried a few different things. We had the forestiere, scone with blue cheese, fries and pancakes with pecans and banana. Everything was really good. I would totally recommend trying them. The coffee was also nice and they have options for non dairy milk. The food is value for money for sure. My advice is to have a reservation before you go, otherwise you will have to sit outside (depending on the weather it may or may not be the best thing).

Travelling, looking for breakfast. This is recommended to us by a local. Reservations recommended, although we got there at the moment they opened and they found us a table “for an hour”. Breakfast was good though, and very quickly served. All the food here looks excellent really. Special ketchup and brown sauce – a little bit cinnamon tasting (not for everybody maybe). Reasonable prices, for good quality food.

Best breakfast in Norwich. I do my best to go for breakfast every other Friday and like to book different places. None compare to the BSK including the food, the service and the environment

Excellent little cafe. Food was outstanding. The Black pudding bonbons were quite honestly one of the best things I’ve had in my mouth that I can ever recall. For someone who is usually all about the meat aspects, the full English was hugely, and impressively lead by the Black pudding bonbons, and bubble and squeak which blew me away. My wife has the eggs Benedict (just in the picture) that were also excellent, with a very intriguing beer-bacon. Prices are slightly on the more premium side which makes it more of a treat than a regular occasion but still well worth the outlay.

The Pheasant Hotel is a charming country-house hotel offering contemporary rooms with complimentary WiFi. Set in 2 acres of gardens, this Georgian country house hotel provides a peaceful setting and bright, airy rooms. Guests can enjoy fresh local produce served in the hotel restaurant and take in views of the lawns from their comfortable, spacious rooms.
Stayed here for 2 nights with family 9-11th May. It is in a Great location! Overall the hotel is clean and the decor well suits a 5 star establishment. The little amenities in the rooms are a treat too, not just your average shampoo and shower gel like most hotels, these are branded, along with a Dyson hairdryer too! I thought the lavender pillow spray was a neat touch. Loved the coffee machine too. We were delighted to of been allocated the same table for breakfast and dinner along with an allotted time slot which I’m sure made it easier for the chefs as we’re were a group of 5-6 people. Special mention to the restaurant manager, Olivia and Curtis who were excellent along with the chefs as our food was delightful both for breakfast and dinner. There was a little wedding also taking place whilst we stayed which didn’t impact us in the slightest. Will recommend to others and if we ever travelled back to this area again we wouldn’t hesitate in a booking a room. Thank you very much.

Stay was fantastic, I can't speak highly enough of this hotel, its absolutely beautiful, in the perfect location with a lovely outdoor area. The whole place is spotless. The food is outstanding. The staff are all amazing, so passionate about giving guests the best experience, they care and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, the fridge was very welcome feature due to the warm weather, allowed us to have cold bottles of water. The toiletries are of a high standard and the Dyson hairdryer was lovely. We will recommend to others and we will definitely be back, thank you to all.

A nice hotel but pricey. The breakfast buffet was average. Nice croissants. Average bread. Poor selection of healthy cereals (cheap supermarket brands mainly). Standard selection of teas. Good cooked menu. Ask for anything out of the ordinary you get charged - like a hot chocolate £5 extra! Early checkin was charged £20. This is OK but was not informed on the email we received so came as a surprise (negative). On the whole the staff were pleasant, the facility and rooms were clean. But nothing special considering the 4 stars and high price. Hotel could look at installing a couple of EV chargers since there are very few in Holt or nearby. Overall a pleasant stay. But nothing more than that!

Another seriously good Sunday lunch. Good food, well prepared, well cooked and attractively presented. The Pheasant Sunday roasts are consistently the best I have eaten. The Eton Mess Sundae and a double espresso rounded off a memorable meal. And the bill was reasonable too. Value for money 5☆ Kevin Delaney

We had excellent evening meal at the Pheasant. The food was extremely good, the menu was varied and coped with Vegans and Vegetarians. The service was efficient and polite and perfectly paced.

We are diners of the Pheasant hotel for a number of years, sadly today's lunch was not of the expected standard. We have noticed a slow decline and wonder if their has been a change in the kitchen. Roast for two of the group , the roast potatoes are no longer nice fluffy and crispy but more like catering roast. The beef overdone. The mash is tasteless, whereas it was always full of flavour and the Eton mess, it was a case of hunt the meringue, mainly just cream with a small amount of berries. So very disappointed as it has always been a family favourite. The staff as always were the best, always a pleasure to be served there

Lovely one night stay taking advantage of a Sunday night £85 b&b offer. A cosy hotel with great food. The room was upstairs in the court yard section. We had the crab thermidor, and at £28 I expected more than a plate full of potatoes and salad accompanied by the most miserly crab portion. At 13cm it only just qualified as legal ! And £17 for 2 pints of cider was just as extortionate. To make matters worse, my wife found a bug in her salad ! A terrible experience altogether.

When you step into the enchanting realm of Tipsy Teapot Restaurant, you're transported to a whimsical escape that delights the senses. This multi-award-winning establishment spans two floors, where reality fades away and culinary magic takes center stage. Their afternoon tea is a true celebration, featuring an array of finger sandwiches and savory bites presented on stunning custom-designed chandeliers or candelabras. Sweet treats are not only visually appealing but also scrumptious!
Wheelchair accessible if you are okay with the skinny front door. There menu is labeled for Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free options. There is seating available outside during nice weather. As the door says, the downstairs is a restaurant while upstairs is a dancing area and bar or space for group events. There are highchair available for toddlers. We ordered a tuna crunch sandwich, butternut & sweet corn fritters, and the Philly Steak Load Em Up with chips and crisps. It took a while to get our food but felt it was very well prepared. The tuna crunch sandwich was nice with the sage fries. The Philly steak dish was well presented, the meat was delicious and cooked well, but I think it was a little heavy on the nacho cheese sauce - I do recognize Philly Steak menu items in general have a lot of cheese. This was just more than I wanted. Overall, very happy with our experience. We paid by card but you can also pay by cash. Nice music downstairs, not too loud and allows for conversation. The decoration was so whimsical and wonderful! It was well done and is very appreciated. The bathroom was wheelchair accessible and clean.

We visited King's Lynn and looked for somewhere different for lunch. Finding the Tipsy Teapot it seemed to fit the bill and it didn't disappoint. We chose to go with the sharing plates with 6 between two of us. The food was well cooked, the presentation was suitably quirky and the bacon donuts were the standout surprise. Drink choice was extensive and the staff are super friendly. I would definitely recommend it but I would suggest booking as we only just got squeezed in. One to try...

Went here over the bank holiday weekend, for a 70th birthday. The staff were really friendly, polite, and very attentive. Quick service with the drinks. Food was waiting a little while, but that was fine as we weren't in any hurry. They didn't have the belly pork, which we were so gutted. Food wasn't too bad, most of our party enjoyed their food. I was the picky one. The chicken didn't really have flavour. But the fries were lovely. The puddings were delicious. We booked a table upstairs. It was awesome, and there was a great atmosphere. Music was brilliant. DJ was awesome. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. We hope to go back soon.

Cocktails divine, decor- cute. Tapas - err, duck spring roles have a lot of meat but well over fried, dark and hard (rusty/crusty) Same with the hallumi. Hard as rocks, over fried, hard to chew. Pls kitchen, work on that... wouldn't recommend for tapas at all. Also, the hummus - came cold and with some Indian or some other spices, just bizarre... Waiter - really friendly.

We stumbled upon the Tipsy Teapot on a weekend away, and it was fabulous! They were able to accommodate us turning up without a booking. I loved the decor it is so fun and adds to the atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised with the vast options of gluten-free food, and it was absolutely divine! We were quite gutted that we were too full for desert at they looked lovely. It's a great surprise to go from the nice dining experience downstairs to the night club vibes upstairs. The toilets are so fun. There is nothing that I can fault. Fantastic hotel I have stayed twice now once in a suite and once in the honeymoon suite. Rooms are spacious clean and inviting. The service from the front desk to the restaurant staff is great very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The gym is good and although i didn’t go in the pool area looks lovely too. A lovely place to stay and relax. Food on the restaurant is well presented and tasty. There are plenty of relaxing places to sit and relax. Rooms are comfortable, albeit quite basic for the standard offering. A choice of two good courses, the Valley being more challenging. Food in the golf bar isn’t so good and rather expensive for what it is.

Lovely weekend away! The hotel is amazing and the staff go above and beyond. We stayed for 1 night only, but it was great to see that they have plenty of facilities to stay longer. The hotel has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere, but is also very close to Norwich, so it's perfect to enjoy the city and relax back at the hotel. Sharon, Sophie and Morgan were amazing and made sure we were very well looked after. Also Pete made sure we had everything set for the birthday celebration. For sure will be recommending the hotel and returning in the future.

Went here on a golf trip, amazing course, we all loved it The staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly, we asked for our set meal to be in the bar instead, they gave us 3 free tokens each for a main, dessert, side or drink. And when they forgot our sides they gave us a free round on the house. I’ve never been so amazed with the staff friendliness and kindness they gave us. We will be making this a yearly trip, greenkeeping staff and hospitality staff (especially Ryan and Louise) should be very proud.

Had an excellent Sunday / Monday golf break. Both golf courses are 1st class. Really well looked after and the best I’ve played. The break itself was exceptional value. The dinner bed and breakfast offer was fab. The location really beautiful and the team and rooms excellent too.

I called to book because we needed to know about accessibility. We were told that the bathroom would not have level access, but we could be given a ground floor room and that was all fine. My husband was unable yo get into the sports bar (all steps), he would not have been able to access the pool or changing rooms and his scooter got lodged on a step to get into the corridor where our room was. The scooter had to be lifted over. Had we have known all this, we would not have booked and we certainly cannot recommend to anyone with mobility problems. On the plus side, bar staff, spa staff, and golf shop staff were all excellent. Spa was lovely for me. Room was nice (once we got in!) Food was delicious.

Went to the cafe, really busy, staff working their socks off, but doing it with a smile and customer service was impeccable. There was passion for exceptional service and I left thinking, I'll absolutely return. Sausage rolls were pretty awesome too - just saying!

Lovely place, but unfortunately the "cheese scones" were the least cheesy I have tasted. Only the crisp item on the top had any taste at all. Otherwise nice coffee but disappointing scone.

Disappointed with gardens, very few flowers and the ponds were covered in green algae. Food in cafe was great but we came at a busy time so had a long wait!! The staff were friendly & apologetic. Courtyards contained some interesting crafts and artwork.

Just wanted to say a MASSIVEthank you to you and all your staff at the Artisan coffee shop this morning. What a fabulous experience. Albeit very busy due to Christmas fare. Everyone had a smile Everyone was cheerful and very accommodating. Your cheese scones were amazing never seen the likes before. Keep on doing what your doing. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place this is to spend a few hours browsing around the craft shops, and having a coffee and bite to eat in the restaurant. Well behaved dogs welcome in the restaurant and there are also tables with benches outside. They have a breakfast and lunch menu, real bean coffee and scrumptious looking cakes. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming, always smiling and attentive. The staff in the shops were also very friendly. There are also gardens to wander around but you would need to pay (£2.50 i believe). Beautiful peacocks/peahens wandering around the grounds. Well worth a visit

The hotel boasts two golf courses, making it an ideal destination for golf enthusiasts. Guests can also take advantage of the leisure centre's indoor pool, spa bath, sauna, and steam room. The spacious rooms feature modern amenities and some offer scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
Great venue for a golf trip. Rooms nice and spacious, showers are hot and powerful and the staff and very polite and accommodating. Food is excellent! Sometimes staying in hotels I find that the staff are very diverse but very little understanding of English or basic requests such as meal choice changes or last minute party changes. This place is very different. We made so many requests of the staff and each one wasn't an issue or confusion. Great place to watch sport too with a massive screen. Drinks are priced what you'd expect but on the lower end of that. Courses are great too. I'd just recommend booking a buggy before your trip to avoid disappointment

I attached a golf weekend with a society and in general things were fine. The golf courses were in reasonable condition but the greens were quite slow. The rooms were comfortable and well fitted with comfortable beds. The restaurant food was very nice and well presented. The bar was well stocked, albeit a little expensive. The staff were all pleasant and hardworking. Overall it was a great weekend.

We checked into our hotel as normal. When we got to our room it wasn’t ready. The bathroom was filthy, bins were full, carpet not hoovered. This was eventually rectified. The room felt like it was in the process of being renovated. This is fine and necessary, however charging full rate is a bit naughty. The staff were either great or treated you like an inconvenience. The pool area etc was tired but it did the job. The outside areas just need a little love. The guys in the golf shop were great. We all had a sandwich for lunch, they were good but the salad was past its last campaign. So all in all it’s just attention to detail that needs work. It’s never going to be 5 star but focusing on the small things would generate enough good will to ignore the larger issues.

Went here for a weekend away with my partner, wonderful staff and facilities, Internet connection was a bit spotty in the rooms but very remote so to be expected. Room itself was spacious if a little dated but did the job. Bar prices very cheap which is lovely to see. Ideal place to go if you want to be quite rural but Norwich in driving distance no probs. Only note is bar food stops at nine which left us a tad hungry but snacks were on bar to be bought. Would definitely come back

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a wedding party - staff were amazing (shout out to Maddy and the team!) so helpful and friendly. Food here is excellent too - really had a great time. Only minor drawbacks were lack of AC in the rooms on some of the hottest days this year, and the mobile signal in the area is extremely poor, although some may prefer this!!

Had a great few days here playing golf with my golf society. The two courses played well, and the pro shop were very welcoming. We stayed in the hotel with half board, the meals we had were excellent. The service staff both at meals and in the bar were very professional in every aspect, The staff are a asset to the hotel and deserve the thanks and appreciation of our Society for taking care of us so well. As retired military caterers, we particularly enjoyed the buffet breakfast on the last morning of our stay. Thank you all at Wensum Valley Hotel Golf & Country Club.

I came here for a work trip, and it is ideally placed for the city wither having any of the street noise etc...so quiet. The rooms are clean but simple - no aircon, tiny tv with no HDMI connectivity or screen cast. Good shower. The highlight is the staff, all cheerful, engaging and helpful. A special has to go to Liza on the front desk who gave me the best of welcomes, sorted me an early check in so I could get on with my work prep, and was just wonderful after a four and a half hour drive. Please passed on my thanks to her!

The rooms felt dated and dusty. Once in bed, the duvet was extremely itchy, and one of the pillows seemed as though it hadn’t been properly refreshed. There were no bottles of water provided in the room, and no sweetener available for coffee or tea. Overall, I won’t be returning — even Premier Inn standards were much better.

We were really looking forward to visiting as we'd heard good things. Unfortunately the experience wasn't amazing. We were seated and waited 10 minutes before someone came and took our order, we ordered a coffee a hot chocolate and two pieces of cake. It then took a further 25 minutes for it to arrive. The staff themselves weren't busy, one in the kitchen, two behind the till and two moving around the floor and in the shop area. It wasn't busy as there were only three tables including us, totalling 6 people. The cake was nice, the drinks were below expectations for the area. All in all we won't be going again. Our order of two drinks and two slices of cake came to almost £25 so it's not the cheapest.

Really nice breakfast, everything was well cooked and presented nicely. Most importantly it tasted great. 😋 The staff were friendly, welcoming and fit us in last minute.. I'd say it's worth phoning and booking as they are busy but handle the customers well so you are never really waiting. Parking in the barn was annoying as it was not marked out and some tiny kia was taking up 2 spaces..

When we arrived there was plenty of parking available although this did seem to fill quite quickly. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff who directed us to our table. Seating outside was also available. The restaurants decor was tastefull and the place looked very clean. The full English breakfast was lovely with a choice of eggs but no baked beans (extra). The poached eggs were perfect and the sausages were tasty and all accompanied by good strong coffee. The attached gift shop was a bonus with some lovely gifts available. I will definitely revisit Hamptons some time.

Dunston Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort is a grand mock-Elizabethan mansion located on the outskirts of Norwich. The hotel offers elegant rooms, a golf course, and a spa with themed restaurant nights. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the enticingly named Snug Bar and choose from a variety of teas to accompany tasty treats, including a vegan option. The hotel is set within 150 acres of wooded parkland and provides comfortable accommodations with free Wi-Fi.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, the staff were great and helpful. The food was also good especially the lamb rump. The breakfast is buffet style and my only complaint is there was no black pudding. The golf course was in good condition and well maintained, they have a first hole challenge which’s worth a go, but don’t be fooled into using a driver. Ali in all a great weekend and I look forward to going back.

I had heard mixed reviews about Dunstan Hall but kept an open mind. It really was quite lovely! The grounds are nice and the hotel itself is very welcoming, clean and the staff very polite and helpful. We were there to play golf, and we really liked the course. The course was playing very well, and it's very pretty. We were staying in one of the feature rooms with a four poster, whilst the room is a little tired in its decor, it's a very big room, nice big bathroom, shower is good. Overall, for the cheap price it was an absolute brilliant stay! We didn't go into the leisure club so I don't know what that was like, but I heard people saying it was nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Recently stayed for a weekend away with my wife. A lovely hotel with great facilities. Our room ,a suite was very well presented. Clean and tidy on arrival with a provided mini bar. Breakfast was fantastic. Evening meals very good, apart from being let down by a very relaxed dress code. The golf crowd let it down by wearing flip flops and beach wear for dinner.???. I know it's primarily a golf hotel, but it let's down the whole feel of the venue. Mainly the golf ....... should grow up. The location of the hotel is fantastic for a Norwich city visit, with park and ride just up the road. Will visit again, lovely hotel. The best bit for us was listening to the piano being played, while enjoying a glass of wine. Pity it is wasted on the golfers.

I recently spent a night at Dunston Hall with my two children, and we really couldn’t fault the entire experience. Our family sized room was brilliant, it was spacious and clean with all amenities we could possibly want. The leisure facilities are fantastic - the swimming pool is clean, warm and safe for children, I am now considering a leisure membership. The hotel staff were all friendly, we especially liked the staff in the conservatory bar where we enjoyed a delicious and reasonably priced meal. We walked the grounds which were all well maintained, the setting is lovely. We will definitely return for another stay, and I would like to give a special mention to Katy Greathead in guest services who was particularly helpful in planning our stay. Many thanks to all the staff for maintaining such a high standard and providing such a lovely experience for guests.

Spent a few days here for work recently, and loved every minute of it. My room was kindly updated from normal to accessibility due to an injury without and questions. All staff were ridiculously helpful. Food on site (garden terrace and breakfast) was delicious. Lots of choice too for breakfast. Bed was super comfy, and my accessible bathroom was clean and spacious. Meeting room had everything we needed, including air-con for dealing with the heatwave. My only small suggestions for the hotel would be - Compote would be a good addition for the cereal station, as jam just doesn't go. Put decaf teabags in the rooms, not just decaf coffee. Everything else was brilliant and it was a wonderful few days.
Melissa M — Google review
I did not enjoy my visit to dunston hall hotel , we booked through golf breaks and paid for two nights and three rounds of golf , the golf side was brilliant and the course is really decent. but the hotel side is a bit poor , when you first arrive to check in you must pay an extra £100 as a deposit on your room per room. then we were told we only had a £32 budget for each dinner which meant if we wanted two courses you could only have certain dishes with certain starters or desserts to keep within that budget , and that budget doesn’t include drinks , so we chose to drink tap water which we assumed was free , apparently not , as we later found out when checking out there was a £16 bill we needed to pay even though we made sure we didn’t over spend , and we couldn’t get a receipt for the meal as the staff said they couldn’t give us one but reception could , and when we asked about it at reception the lady on reception couldn’t tell us what it was for so really they could have charged us for anything and we wouldn’t be able to argue it as they couldn’t give us receipts. other than that the rooms were fairly outdated for the price we paid. and when we went to the bar there were some rude guests/ members there who told us we couldn’t play snooker because the light wasn’t on which is not what we were told when we got the balls from the very nice lady working at the bar , to be fair the staff were very very friendly and helpful it’s just a shame how we were treated. would recommend the golf course but not staying in the hotel.

A lovely old hotel built in 1859 — you can really feel the history in the walls as you walk through the corridors. The wooden furniture shows its age with scratches here and there. The hotel also has a beautiful golf course and even a little church within the grounds. The English breakfast comes with a good variety of pastries in the morning.
World T — Google review
Lovely golf course, not the most challenging but it is a fun layout, has some very attractive holes and is kept in mostly very good condition. Can border on unplayable at times in the winter but remains open all the time, whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you to decide. Biggest issue is pace of play, absolutely horrendous on any given day you go. Very rare to be able to play 18 solo and be done in less than 4 hours, most other courses are 3 to 3.30 if not quicker. Have been occasions where I have had to give up and leave due to not being waved through and heading towards unacceptable round times.

We booked a last minute stay. It was great to just get away and relax. From the minute we arrived at the reception we were met by a lovely friendly member of staff. The rooms are great. Really spacious and spotlessly clean. We had a brilliant evening meal. The staff both in the bar area and the restaurant were absolutely on the ball. They were so efficient and very helpful. A great example of a young aged staff working so well.

Very nice hotel and spa as far as the staff goes they are very friendly and attentive. The bar area is very cosy and an excellent place for a quiet drink and a natter. Our room was more than big enough with all the usual amenities the only fly in the ointment was the shower doors did not close fully other than that all was good. Outside the grounds are very nice indeed and there is a designated walk all the way around the grounds. Would I go back for another stay .... yes I most definitely would.

Great spot for family of 4 (kids 12 and 13). We booked two rooms. Note that the king bed is really two singles put together which is fine but one side was much softer than the other in one of the rooms (54) (bad for the back). Other than that, everything was great. There is additional cost for the gym/pool depending on your package but it’s good for whole visit while there (you don’t have to pay each time). Food (breakfast or later in the day) is top quality.

Came for the spa, although realised its more of a leisure centre then a spa (kids are allowed in the pool etc), however, it's was still fairly relaxing and the food is the star of the show here. We ate SO WELL! The staff were also brilliant so I would recommend for a short stay.

Was treated to a spa day here, and it was amazing. I was lucky enough to have Yasmin do my treatments, and I've never had better! She's an absolute asset to the team. As a wheelchair user, I was a bit worried as not everywhere is wheelchair friendly. However, I went in my small electric wheelchair and was able to access the main changing room and use the toilet in the there as it was big enough to get my wheelchair in. They do have a disabled changing room, and I used this to shower so I could use the shower chair and hand rails, but there's no lockers in there. I'm not sure I would've been able to access the main changing room in my manual chair as it's much wider, and I don't think the access corridors would be wide enough to accommodate it. However, the staff here are really helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I was able to use the pool due to it having stairs with a handrail to give support, and this is a decent size, so you're able to have a proper swim. I found the pool area far too warm, so I didn't try out the hot tub or the steam/sauna, which is only accessible by about 5/6 steps. Drinking water was also only accessible by steps, so unless you're like me and can do a few steps, you'd be excluded from using these facilities and reliant on the staff to keep getting you water. Lunch in the conservatory was lovely looking out over the gardens, and there is wheelchair access to the garden, so I was able to explore outside, which was a really nice, relaxing area with a pond and a gazebo to enjoy. I came away feeling thoroughly pampered and relaxed. Massive thank you to Yasmin and the rest of the staff, especially to the lady that saved the butterflies in the conservatory. I'd highly recommend this place

The Maids Head Hotel, located in central medieval Norwich, is a 13th-century property with a modern touch. Despite its age, the hotel has been recently renovated and offers 86 warmly furnished rooms blending traditional decor with contemporary gadgets. The hotel's charm lies in its period features such as roll-top baths, exposed beams, fireplaces, and four-poster beds. Guests can enjoy fine dining at the WinePress restaurant which focuses on local Norfolk produce.
It claims to be the oldest hotel in the UK. So, that was a good enough draw to visit this more expensive than most Norwich hotels. I didn't disappoint, with a friendly welcome and intriguing walk through the communal seating areas, restaurant, courtyard and bar. The rooms are a good size with an impressive mural on the wall of the bathroom. The location is excellent for visiting the older parts of Norwich, and the restaurant provided a very good dining experience as well.
Steve M — Google review
We recently spend four nights at the Maids Head Hotel in mid July for a family wedding. The location is excellent and is really close to the centre of Norwich, with lots of pubs and restaurants close by. The train station is only a 15 min walk away. We booked an Executive Double room, and were allocated 403 on the top floor. The room itself was very large, didn't overlook the noisy pub at the front, and had air conditioning - a welcome relief during 29 degree heat, as was the mini fridge! I'm pregnant and found the bed was huge and very comfortable - two singles together so we had plenty of room. There is also a pillow menu. All the staff were lovely, and when I requested additional bath towels for my long hair, the duty manager promptly delivered them. We really appreciated the signs requesting do not disturb the room with the tickboxes to request additional refreshments and toiletries. We paid £150 a night for the room, not including breakfast. We did pay for the breakfast buffet one morning, which cost £15 each and was very nice. However, we spent all other mornings having breakfast at Olives across the room which was phenomenal. The only real negative was our room had a connecting door into the next door, and we had very noisy neighbours for the first two nights that went on very late. There was no real soundproofing, and not only could we hear their conversations, but also every word from their television. We were not aware the hotel had connecting rooms at the time of booking. The hotel was fully booked so it was not possible to move. It was a bit disappointing to pay £150 (not including breakfast) for a bad night's sleep and for future visits we would possibly consider other hotels for this reason.

The Hotel location was excellent, 30 yds from the entrance to the Cathedral grounds. It had it's own car park and we could reserve a space. There was a lift to all floors but the Reception floor and access to Restaurant and Car Park was on different levels with many small sets of steps. Awkward for suitcases and the elderly. We liked the appearance and atmosphere of the Hotel. Our Executive Double room was very spacious. Disliked · Our room overlooked the car park so we were woken by the Bin Men and deliveries both mornings. The Bar was very shabby but popular. The service in the Restaurant was patchy, lack of information on Gluten Free items, my wife had soup and had to ask for a spoon. One waiter was positively miserable. The furniture in the room was quite shabby and not executive, especially the wardrobe. Very poor quality and badly scratched and worn. The worst things were the dripping shower head, the positively lethal shower tray with tiny shower mat and the inside of the En Suite door. The hinges and around them was black, the floor strip was repaired with brown tape and the toilet roll holder was hanging by a thread. Finally, the mismatched prices for the Sunday and Monday nights seemed hard to justify.

Tricky spiral staircase but worth it....Great junior suite. Really loved the location and on site parking. Unfortunately from here it goes down hill. No real bar, restuarant mirrors much from faulty towers.Great staff trying to deliver the impossible. Unimpressive food, unexplained delays during which we could have cooked our meals. Left before our main course arrived. Quirky hotel, great location good rooms but please eat out. What the difference a day makes. Just had breakfast really attentive and helpful staff. Great hotel, great location. Service is on point. At a glance the rooms appear well decorated however quite quickly you notice that they are tired and would benefit from some maintenance. I have stayed here a few times and it would not stop me returning but future bookers should be aware.

No matter how nice and historic the hotel and how good the location is if you can't get a decent night sleep then the hotel is no good. Stayed here recently and was woken at 05:45 in the morning by a refuse wagon collecting bins of bottles etc from the hotel directly under my room window. Phoned reception and they just said it would be over soon and there was not anything they could do. I disagree its their contract to collect their waste so just make it a contract condition that it can't be collected until a reasonable time.

We attended a wedding and stayed the night. The reception check in staff were fantastic and arranged our room was available slightly earlier to get changed before the wedding. The rooms were great, clean, comfy bed and the shower was very powerful. The wedding host was a very capable chap, nothing was too much trouble and it was a really enjoyable stay. Well done to everyone involved in keeping the place running, a great place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The room was quite pricey for a 4-star hotel, but the location was superb, and the staff were brilliant, providing excellent service during our stay.

TL:DR we like this place. It's comfy and clean, the staff are great but it's a bit English sometimes and could do with some modernisation. The hotel is an independent as such can be as unique as it wants and that shows in the lovely quirky nature. The staff are excellent and always on hand to help and I've never seen such engagement before. To the point where a staff member leaving to go to Wales had a 20 min chat with a regular guest about his plans and hopes, utterly unique I would say. I know some have said the place is expensive but considering the price we paid for an excellent dinner and breakfast included I'd say sure it's not cheep but honestly priced. Facilities are good and the pool/gym/sauna is very good next to some lovely gardens but for me the rooms could use some updating in particular the bathrooms. Showers and fixtures should be brought up to a better standard. Parking can be difficult which is a tribute to A. The hotel's popularity and B. Blakeney is a tiny little tourist trap with cart lanes for roads. God I do love this country for that. If you're in north Norfolk and have the budget stay here and have fun crabbing.

Had lunch at this hotel last week with my wife. Have been here many times and never been disappointed. The meal was excellent and the staff and service was first class. If your visiting North Norfolk you must pop into this great hotel, must be one of the best in Norfolk, you will not be disappointed.

This place used to be great. We have been coming here for years but every year it looks more run down and the service worse. We have stopped staying at the hotel as prices are for a 4 star establishment. But service and general upkeep are not matching. The restaurant also is missing the mark on consistent food and for the price it is not worth the hit and miss dishes. Hope you do better moving forward as it is an amazing spot.

First time staying here. Beautiful building and the surroundings we know very well. Our room had an estuary view which was lovely altho the steep price of £60 per night added up in a weeks stay. Maybe half would be better. The staff are faultless, friendly and attentive. We even had a Ricky Gervais look alike, mannerisms etc! Think his name was Nicky. Loved the old fashioned attention towards us. Polite and charming. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts & Dinners were exceptional. The weather was very hot! So the cool terrace was welcome looking over the awesome sunsets. Our room was a B room which was offered was fine, a little bit worn in places but clean and met all our needs. A delightful experience.

Stayed at the Boat Shed cottage which is run by the hotel. Service was appalling. The lower ground stank of sewage for two days. They sorted it out so it wasn’t reeling, but it still didn’t smell right. I asked for compensation and was offered a feeble takeaway sandwich for my journey home!! This is an expensive rental where you’d expect some semblance of common decency. The hotel itself is nice but it’s had better days.

Always an excellent and varied menu, with views of the mudflats. A viewing lounge upstairs is a good way to finish off lunch with a long coffee.

Stayed here recently. Lovely family hotel offering friendly and high level service. Good selection of meals on menus with separate ones catering for all dietary needs. Comfortable longe areas provide good seating , relaxation and views. Games also available for amusement although with the local geographic features and lovely weather conditions, many may not need to use them. Bedrooms are good size and beds are more comfortable than many hotels provide. Definitely hope to return at some point in the future.
