Tea house
Restaurant
Located in Bradford-on-Avon, The Bridge Tea Rooms is a charming spot where you can enjoy loose-leaf tea served in delicate china cups by staff dressed in Victorian costumes. This double-winner of the Top UK Tea Place award offers homemade cakes and light bites, creating an authentic and delightful experience. Situated just minutes away from Bath, this quaint tearoom is a perfect stop for a wonderful day out or even a longer stay to savor their cream teas by the river.
So grateful we stumbled upon this gem of a Tea Room! We had the most lovely experience and it was exactly the afternoon tea we’ve been hoping for during our time in the UK. We split the ham and cheese panini and the side salad and crisps were the perfect amount paired with the cream tea! Service was excellent and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more perfect for us. We hope to come again!

Great experience at The Bridge tea rooms in Bradford on avon. Lovely little Historic building is gorgeous. food is delicious with fine crockery sets. Negative things: Prices are too high. Staff wasn’t that pleasant. Too many tables for a small place.

Stepping into The Bridge Tea Rooms feels like stepping back in time—in the most delightful way possible. Nestled in a crooked 16th-century building draped in history and charm, this award-winning tearoom in Bradford on Avon offers an afternoon tea experience that is as enchanting as its setting. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by staff dressed in Victorian-style uniforms, adding to the immersive, nostalgic atmosphere. The interior is quaint and intimate, with lace tablecloths, fine china, and the gentle clink of teacups creating a perfect backdrop for a relaxing treat. I opted for the Prince Albert afternoon tea, which arrived beautifully presented on a traditional tiered stand. The selection included freshly made finger sandwiches with classic fillings, a large slice of homemade carrot cake, and a generous helping of fruit, which was collectively delicious. The tea menu was extensive, with a wonderful variety of loose-leaf teas to suit every palate. I chose the Jane Austen Blend, which was delicately perfumed and expertly brewed. The tea pot filled 4 cups! Service here is attentive without being intrusive. What truly sets The Bridge Tea Rooms apart is the atmosphere. Whether you’re seated by a leaded window watching the world go by, or tucked into a cosy corner under ancient beams, every moment feels special and steeped in old-world charm. It’s no wonder The Bridge Tea Rooms has won awards and continues to be a favourite for visitors and locals alike. If you’re in or around Bradford on Avon and want to indulge in a traditional, elegant, and utterly heartwarming afternoon tea, this place is an absolute must. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true gem—steeped in history, tea, and charm

Such a charming and memorable visit to The Bridge Tea Room! The building itself is beautiful – full of history and character, like stepping back in time. There’s a lovely variety of food options and teas, and everything we had was delicious. One of the young girls kindly helped us choose the tea, and her recommendation was spot-on – so fragrant and refreshing. A perfect little escape with great service and a warm, cozy atmosphere. Would definitely visit again! 🫖🍰💕

Delightful tea experience in an old school vintage and what you would think of his classic British grandmothers, humble abode. I ordered that genmaicha green tea which automatically comes with another kettle of hot water for you to refill. The mushroom quiche was so satisfying and wonderful portion and also came with a side salad as well as chips. Upstairs and downstairs seating but mind your step so you don’t hit your head! Also clean bathroom space and quick service.
PHOEBE C — Google review
Very famous old tea rooms. The little house is so old and its incredible just going in through the teeny door transports you into a different world. Loved that the staff wore period appropriate uniforms. It was delicious. It gets very busy and some items are pricey, but everyone was kind and the set was delightful. Tea was, as one would expect, fantastic quality.
Eve A — Google review
Stepping into this place feels like traveling back in time — I absolutely loved the atmosphere and concept! Tried their coffee and cake, which were both excellent, and the overall experience made it even better.
Shafaq K — Google review
Firstly the staff are very friendly and the food was incredible! Unfortunately as we had dietary requirements our food took an hour to come while people around us who arrived after us received theirs in 20 minutes or less. We also had to request tea strainers and milk as they were not provided to us with our pots of tea a minor inconvenience but again those around us received theirs without having to ask. It felt as though we were being punished for our dietary requirements despite confirming them by email several days in advance.

Sally Lunn’s Historic Eating House & Museum is located in Bath, and it's known for being the city's oldest house, dating back to around 1483. The house is famous for its association with the creation of the Sally Lunn Bun, a semi-sweet bread that has become a local delicacy. Legend has it that Sally Lunn, a Huguenot refugee, introduced this brioche-style bun to a baker in Bath in 1680.
Lunch in Bath’s oldest house was a great-tasting treat! We ordered the Steak and Mushroom Trencher, and the the Double Bacon savory half bun, pumpkin soup, and the apple cake for dessert. The bread was fresh, the beef was tender and juicy, the bacon was crisp, and the apple cake was delightful. If we live in the area, we’d probably frequent the place. We even bought some of their brioche bun for the road. If you’re the area, check it out! It’s a must-try!

This is one of the first few shops my family and I came to during our first trip to Bath. The place was really lovely, very warm waitress accompanied by warm service, coupled with lovely food that’s not too filling but at the same not too light. Personally, I would say the buns are really unique that can’t be found anywhere else in the UK or back from where I come from in Malaysia. Really glad to have visited this shop with my family during our trip to the UK!
Bryan L — Google review
Ordered their english breakfast bun (comes with a pot of blend tea or americano coffee) and double bacon bun. The bun is soft inside but crispy outside, not a bread lover, but like this texture and flavour of bun. Match well with the mushrooms, eggs, bacon and sausages. Sausages might be a bit too salty, eat together with bun then it is fine. Double bacon is just normal, but everything brought up by the nice bun.
Zen L — Google review
Peak pastries in an old building that was started by a French lady? We ordered scones with clotted cream and jam, a lemon tart and traditional tea with the cubes and milk. Tea was kinda watery but hey we got the experience. Scones were good and Huge, tasted so good with the cold clotted cream and tangy jam. Tart in sweet bread was okay, too much bread for our liking and too tart. We also ordered potato and leek soup which was perfectly chunky and leaky— I loved it with the bread yum
Ariel J — Google review
Fascinating history with using the original recipe dating back to the 1600s, and absolutely delicious bun! Very large, with a perfect crispiness on the outside, and incredibly soft & fluffy on the inside. Excellent with the cinnamon butter topping, though I found it a tad too sweet. The service isn't the friendliest, however it's still definitely worth stopping by for a unique taste of history, and a warm, freshly made treat :)
Kat — Google review
Certainly best toasted. Tip 👇 Ordered takeaway of two famous Sally Lunn buns—one with sweet lemon curd and the other with cinnamon butter. Service was friendly, though there was a short wait. Packaging was neat (cutlery provided) and the buns were excellent—soft, light, and delicious. The buns were warm and ready to eat, and the extra we took home microwaved/toasted beautifully. A must-try Bath experience. Tip: go straight to the museum shop in the basement (accessed via a narrow Georgian spiral staircase) to order your take-home bun. The shop has some museum displays and good lighting, but it’s small and can feel a bit claustrophobic.
Onbarefeet — Google review
There were queues up the street, so we were disheartened and wet. However, on the way back we saw it was quieter and went inside. It is a really lovely experience. You eat Bath Buns which are gorgeous, with a teapot and there is a little museum downstairs - not much but adds to the atmosphere. Slow service but they are busy! Well worth a visit.
Michelle O — Google review
Had a quick look in the little museum and purchased a Bunn to take away and cook at home. Made my own version of a cinnamon butter and then a melted cheese and spring onion one too. Very nice.

The Pump Room Restaurant is a sophisticated venue in Bath, offering classical music accompaniment to coffee, lunch, and afternoon tea with a view of the Roman Baths hot spring. Originally constructed to provide public access to thermal waters in the late 17th century for medicinal purposes, it still houses the Kings Spring water fountain where visitors can purchase a glass of warm spa water. The elegant interior features grand columns, beautiful chandeliers, and stylish Georgian decor that reflects the high society of its time.
Absolutely lovely experience, we went for afternoon tea and it was my wife's birthday, the live pianist played happy birthday and they bought her out a little cake 😍 The setting is glorious and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend.
Darren M — Google review
We came here for brunch/breakfast. I had the poached egg with salmon which was lovely. We also had two cocktails. The atmosphere is nearly like from a fairytale especially with the pianist playing. Definitely recommend to anybody.
Martina S — Google review
Went for the tea menu at 12 noon. The atmosphere was great! The high ceilings and classical music really add to the ambience. Huge applause to the pianist who played for an hour! The music was so so good! The tables are spaced out very well too, so it made the experience very private. We felt that the green pea savoury bites were super good, wished there were more! Scones were pretty standard. And the raspberry shortbread dessert bite was super good! Jane Austen tea was really good! Tasted like earl grey with earthy notes and a tinge of rooibos flavour at the end. You can get a glimpse of the Roman Baths from the pump room too!
Gwen — Google review
My daughter and I had the most wonderful experience having tea at the Pump Room! Some reviews I read had been somewhat concerning regarding the quality and freshness of the food, but we found everything exceptional and delicious. Thank you for an amazing afternoon treat, in every regard!
Nancy C — Google review
The afternoon tea experience was enjoyable. I did find the setting a bit crowded, and the other guests tended to the T-shirt wearing type. Nonetheless, the service was good and the food was excellent. The Pump Room is beautiful and imbued with history.
Anthony S — Google review
I booked a Jane Austen Afternoon Tea for a party of 4 midweek and we loved every minute of the experience! From the entrance all the way to our table the service and staff were outstanding. The live music was a great touch. The menu looked good, but I have to admit, the food and drinks were not AS delicious as some of the other tea times that we’ve had. The Darcy cocktail sounded so promising but was a bit too bitter and flat. What you are paying for is definitely the ambiance and location. You feel like you’re sitting in a room full of so much rich history that I would’ve paid 2x more for this feeling. You’re also able to taste the spring water from the King’s fountain in this tea room. We loved it very much and would certainly book again.

Breakfast restaurant
The Ivy Bath Brasserie & Garden is a sophisticated eatery located on Milsom Street, offering locally sourced seasonal recipes and an elegant atmosphere. The restaurant's stunning environment features a sparkling bar, shimmering chandeliers, modern art work, and smartly-dressed staff providing professional service. Whether it's breakfast pastries or a full English breakfast, the menu offers a variety of options to cater to different tastes.
Had dinner booked before a concert and I must say it was some of the best food I have ever eaten. The restaurant was a little loud, but that is to be expected with the amount of people within a relatively small space. The service was excellent - extremely fast and the staff were very friendly plus professional. I cannot recommend the raspberry, white chocolate and mango cheesecake, with passionate fruit syrup within the middle. The watermelon and strawberry prosecco was also divine, we had to have two. Highly recommend.
Rose G — Google review
As you would expect from the Ivy, it is very stylish, and the food is on point. The time I was there, I don't know if it was a change of shift, but the service was lacking. I ordered a chocolate bomb for dessert, but when it was brought out, it was left on the counter for someone to serve me and sat there for about 10 minutes. By then, the caramel sauce had cooled, so it didn't melt the chocolate when it was poured over the dessert. 🙄 Eventually, another one was brought out, but I waited 25 minutes for dessert.
Jason E — Google review
I had a lovely dinner at The Ivy. The food was amazing, and the Chicken Milanese was cooked to perfection! We were served by Arthur, who was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Although we waited a little longer than expected for our starters, Scarlet, the manager, kindly brought us olives and almonds while we waited, which was a lovely touch. Everything was well managed — thank you! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Anastasia B — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at The Ivy in Bath. We started with a delicious crab appetizer and a flavorful duck salad, followed by a perfectly cooked chicken breast served in a rich truffle sauce and an outstanding steak in peppercorn sauce that simply melted in the mouth. For dessert, we indulged in an incredible treat — ice cream enclosed in a chocolate bomb with a silky chocolate mousse, beautifully melted by hot caramel sauce poured over the top. It was divine! The décor was stunning, the atmosphere was calm and elegant, making it the perfect place to celebrate special moments with loved ones. The service was excellent — attentive and professional without being intrusive. We highly recommend The Ivy and will definitely return on our next visit to Bath!
Monika P — Google review
We had the Sunday Roast, Black Cod and Truffle & Parmesan Fries, and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious and unpretentious everything was! Everything was also well priced considering the upscale look of the restaurant. Some servers were a little snooty, perhaps more noticeably since we’re Asian, but honestly it wasn’t the worst!
Karmen — Google review
The service was very very slow and we asked for sparkling water 3 times before they remembered. The food was ok- but for the price, I expected more. The chocolate bomb dessert was a let down because the caramel sauce was at too hard of a stage and turned into rock very quickly. Everything was a bit underseasoned. The scallops were great but small.
Mackenzie W — Google review
We had the best time here thanks to the bartenders Jamie and Tony! All of our cocktails were incredible, and the service was very friendly. It was the perfect location for a lovely evening out with a great drink selection.
Gracefuleats_ — Google review
My friend and I had the most beautiful meal at the Ivy in Bath. We had tempura prawns, salt and pepper squid, shepherds pie and vegetable curry. Washed down with 2 champagne mojitos and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. Delicious! We were served by Daisy W chk 332 on Saturday 8 November. She was very attentive and friendly. Daisy took a couple of photos for us. Thanks Daisy for making our evening special!

Lydiard Park is a stunning historic estate located in Wiltshire, offering 260 acres of parkland with a Palladian house, church, and walled garden. The park features opulent 18th-century interiors and provides a kids' play area for families to enjoy. Visitors can explore the rich landscape of lawns, woodlands, lakes, and pasture while taking their dogs for a walk or run.
Lydiard Park in Swindon is such a beautiful escape! The parkland is so well-maintained with lovely walking trails and plenty of green space to relax. Perfect for families with kids or anyone wanting a peaceful day out. The historic house and church add a nice touch to the visit - really interesting to explore the local history. The lake area is particularly scenic and great for a quiet walk. Love how spacious everything feels here. Great place for picnics, dog walking, or just getting some fresh air. Free parking is a bonus too! Definitely one of Swindon's best outdoor spots for a lovely day out.

Stunning location for a buggy friendly family day out! Highly recommend a visit! We accidentally landed here on Race for Life day so there was even more going on than usual but still with lots of quiet places to enjoy ☺️
Kelly H — Google review
Lydiard Park offers a charming escape, with expansive grounds that come alive in the summer months as families gather for picnics under the sun. A tranquil lake graces the landscape, though it’s more ornamental than inviting for swimming. The Lydiard House Museum, while splendid in its preserved elegance, had only a handful of rooms open during my visit, which made the experience feel somewhat limited. Similarly, the beautifully maintained walled garden, though delightful, may not fully justify its modest entrance fee. Practical amenities such as ample paid parking, clean toilets, and an on-site café make the visit convenient, and the presence of a historic church and a fenced paddock with ponies adds to the park’s pastoral charm. All in all, Lydiard Park is a lovely place to while away a few peaceful hours.

Nice place for a picnic with family and friends. Play area, Barbeque, nice walk around the park.

A lovely park! We visited and camped during the Hot Air Balloon festival. It was so interesting, enjoyable and well organised!
Matthew J — Google review
This is a wonderful park area to suit all kinds of needs, from children, to adults to small or big groups. It is also good for those with mobility probmms as it has wide flat paths. I liked that you can book a bbq on the large field, stroll to the lake, play on the fields or playground. Or even visit the museum. The parking is ample but I walked through a lovely forested memorial garden to get to the park and left by foot a different way. Well worth the visit. The cafe and ice cream were good. There’s also toilets… a bit old but clean and functioning. Dogs have to be kept on a leash, and cannot go into food premises. But they do sell dog treats. The ice cream shop was very reasonably priced, delicious and value for money. My dog had a good day! Also the @Artpass gets you into the museum for free!

The Bath Priory is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of the city, offering elegant and polished accommodations. The hotel features a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant that serves modern European cuisine with exquisite flavors and quality ingredients. Nestled within four acres of stunning gardens, this country house hotel provides a tranquil oasis just a short walk from the city center. Each of its 33 rooms is uniquely decorated with artwork and antiques, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a private residence.
An amazing experience from start to finish! The staff was very polite and helpful throughout our stay, offering a small tour of the hotel upon arrival. The facilities and amenities were great, with the spa offering a great space for relaxation throughout the weekend. The gardens offered amazing views both from our room and when having breakfast / coffee in the hotel.
Maria P — Google review
Disappointed overall. For spending £300 or $400 a night, this hotel did not reach expectations set by their website. The staff were amazing and service was good the night we ate at their “pantry,” but the rest of the stay was lacking a 5-star experience. The room, which was still quite small despite being a “Superior” was outdated (not in a quaint, charming way) The bed frame had lots of visible wear and the bed sconces were missing shades. The room and bathroom had almost no table or counter space and only two hooks for robes/ towels. The bathroom did not even have a toilet paper holder. The room also did not have air conditioning. Thankfully we had cooler weather during our stay and kept the fan on and windows open to help. If the weather had been any warmer we would have been extremely uncomfortable. The pools were nice but close quite early at 8pm. Overall it seems like the Priory wants to operate as a 5-star hotel without putting in effort to maintain 5-star facilities.

*Review on the restaurant only* Highly recommend the Sunday Lunch: the quiet indoor seating area, peaceful garden, and amazing food makes for a great experience. Staff was notably young, but surely still attentive and young. The food was delicious, in particular the quai entree.

I surprised my girlfriend with Afternoon Tea for a 1 Year Anniversary. The food was incredible and they even surprised us with an extra plate of sweet treats to celebrate our anniversary. Kristina, our host, was so lovely, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend to anyone thinking of coming!
Jacob D — Google review
I was here for my brothers wedding and Staff were very friendly and attentive and they were very present so you could easily find them if you needing anything. Only negative is that the prices at the bar were steep for what you got and you should offer complementary snacks such as olives and crips to go with your drink. I would also expect more table service outside. Both things are pretty standard in Europe. Lovely venue though just what you'd hope for at a big occasion like a wedding.
Ed H — Google review
I have stayed here and booked in for dinner, lunch and afternoon tea on a few occasions. I was very disappointed on a recent trip where I had booked in for afternoon tea with my visiting family. Unfortunately, when we booked, the venue did not advise us there would be a wedding taking place at the same time. We arrived to find a wedding party posing for pictures at the front entrance, and had to awkwardly interrupt to get inside. There was no room for us in the main dining area (I would imagine due to the wedding), and we were told we could be seated outside. However, we were told no umbrellas allowed due to the wind and no shade was available, and it was nearly 30c! We opted for the alternative which was one of the lounges. While the staff were friendly, and the food to the usual good standard, the ambience was severely lacking. The room was a walk through for wedding guests/staff and for touring guests on check in and it was obvious they were short staffed, so lots of waiting. We were also seated on a low small table which was unsuitable. There were no apologies or compensation offered for the shortcomings. When I emailed to complain about the experience I received no response, which was additionally disappointing and frustrating. Only when I sent a chaser did I receive a reply, which in a roundabout way said thanks for the feedback. It's made me think twice about booking in again, especially with visiting guests we had recommended the venue to, as it was a bit embarrassing.
Tom T — Google review
A perfect stay from beginning to end. Georgie (hopefully spelled correctly) greeted us at reception with a smile and kindly showed us around all the facilities and to our beautiful room filled with lots of little complementary items. We enjoyed an afternoon in the spa and had room service (with no added service charge) in the evening. We visited during quite a warm weekend but this was no issue due to the Dyson fan provided in the room. Breakfast in the morning was great. Would highly highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to choose the bath priory for our next visit!

The Gainsborough Bath Spa is a luxurious Georgian building that houses a contemporary spa hotel with direct access to the city's famous thermal springs. The Asian-inspired spa offers three thermal pools, an infrared sauna, steam room, ice alcove, and yoga room for guests to enjoy wellness treatments. The hotel's historical roots are reflected in its interiors, featuring elegant bedrooms decorated in a serene blue and grey color scheme.
We had a wonderful stay! We originally booked a standard room but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the best suite in the hotel — and the hospitality was truly exceptional from start to finish. There were lovely little touches waiting for us when we arrived, and when we returned from dinner, we found a thoughtful box of cheeses, the curtains drawn, and the bed beautifully prepared for the night. The hotel’s location is very central, which meant it could be a little busy and noisy at times, but the mattress was so comfortable that we still had one of the best nights of sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel! We also booked massage treatments and spent time enjoying the spa facilities — both were absolutely amazing. Every member of staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay special. It was such a memorable experience, and we’ll definitely return when visiting Bath again — or perhaps try one of their other properties elsewhere.

My partner and I stayed for two nights at the hotel recently. The rooms were truly impressive - spotless, quiet, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The staff were warm, courteous, and genuinely attentive throughout our stay. These aspects really reflected the standard you’d expect from a high-end hotel. Unfortunately, several issues seriously let the experience down. We booked directly through the hotel’s website, which clearly stated that direct bookings include a complimentary bottle of wine - yet none was provided. When we raised this at checkout, we received no explanation, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. There was also no bottled water in the room, something that should be standard in any 5-star property. We ended up having to buy our own from Tesco, which was both inconvenient and disappointing. Finally, we had booked treatments at the Spa Village and were supposed to receive a 20% discount for booking directly. We were charged the full amount instead, and only after bringing it up at checkout was the price adjusted. These lapses in attention to detail and communication are unacceptable for a hotel positioning itself as a luxury 5-star destination. A beautiful room and kind staff can’t make up for misleading offers and service oversights of this nature. 2/5

The service is curteous and helpful, even if the rooms were not of true five star quality. The spa is lovely to enjoy, but try coming early so it doesn't get busy during the morning and evening hours for guest. Be mindful that the central location can be very noisy, and the limited insulation leaves the room quite cold. I left a note of recommendations to the manager and she was very appreciative and understanding. What an odd experience for me; I definitely learned a lot from myself spiritually staying here.

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our spa day here at the Gainsborough! After spending the first part of the day exploring the city, we kicked off our spa day package with afternoon tea at which we enjoyed with a glass of champagne. Afterwards we made our way down to the spa where we were greeted by lovely staff in which they explained what to expect and showed us the facilities. Both of us loved our massages both the therapists were welcoming and we were both very comfortable the entire time. Afterwards we were able to enjoy a quiet time in the baths just between the time the hotel guests have access and the people who were finishing with their spa treatments. At one point we were the only people which was a fantastic way to end and wind down before heading back to London.

We stayed at the Gainsborough for its location. The SLH Hilton brand is exceptional. I booked directly with the hotel and the concierge staff were very helpful getting our luggage transported and connecting us to the nearby carpark, arranged through the hotel As a minor thing, we had sodas and water replenished every day of our stay. American Express was offering a coupon for a discount to the spa. The quality of the rooms is wonderful. The access to the spa for hotel guests for morning and evening windows is fantastic. Payment is required for a more luxurious mid-day experience. (I would recommend that the hotel add a nominal fee to deter those guests who may just want a hot soak, and reduce the numbers and improve the experience.) One small quirk to make this hotel memorable is that the building next door across an alley is annexed for a large number of rooms. Access is through a hall tunneled under the alley.

Here as a birthday surprise. I absolutely loved it. They upgraded us to a suite also in the room they put a cute cupcake and bottle of red wine. They also bought us a box of local cheese as an extra surprise. The bed was huge and comfy. The spa was so relaxing worth every second definitely worth a visit. The massage was lovely. All the staff have been amazing thank you all so much for making my birthday so amazing

So glad I found this hotel/spa online. My friend and I were thrilled upon arrival to see how wonderful this hotel is especially the spa. Our room was comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was very nice. The spa was exactly what we needed. We enjoyed the multiple thermal pool areas and treated ourselves to a massage. The 2 masseuses that we had were outstanding. Sometimes it is all about location, location and location. The Gainsborough has "location." Right in the middle of Bath. It was a very enjoyable stay,.

We stayed here as a family. We had one Spa Room (124) that had the mineral springs come into the bathtub for my wife and me, and the other room a standard room for our son. Check-in was fine - we took a cab from the train station and arrived at around 12:30pm. They were not able to accommodate us until check-in time at 3pm. I don't think this is the kind of hotel that accommodates an early check-ins because of its smaller size and staffing. Once we got into our room, we found our Spa room 124 comfortable albeit a bit small. We were on the first floor, and looked out onto a public park that at the time was filled with teenaged students from the local school. As the hotel is in an historic building, the Georgian style windows are large, so we didn't really have much privacy. Also, there's no soundproofing, so when there's any noise outside, you can hear everything. This was especially bothersome at night, when all the college students come into town and party at the local pubs and bars. It is loud until around 11:30pm on Friday, and midnight on Saturday. I understand whey there's not soundproofing because of the historic nature of this beautiful building, but this is a downside for sure, and not sure if any other rooms would be any better. That said, everything else at the hotel was lovely. despite it being a busy weekend (perhaps most weekends are busy?) the staff handled all the guests gracefully, although the one bartender in their tiny bar did get overwhelmed the one evening I sat there for a drink. Breakfast was good, and back to the room, the bed was comfortable and both my wife and son enjoyed the big tub with the spa waters. The best part of the hotel, which I would imagine is what most people come for, is the spa itself. It is large, well appointed, has different areas with different pools of varying temperatures as well as hot rooms and cold rooms. It's really, really good and in great shape, and it's fun lying in the pools imagining that these are the same waters the Romans bathed in 2000 years ago. Because we were in a Spa Room, we got to use the facilities for free at any time, unlike other rooms at the hotel whose guests would need to pay £70 a visit. We paid the £70 pounds without thinking twice about it for our son. (The hotel does offer complimentary visits for guests not in Spa Rooms but the hours are early mornings and evenings only) All in all, an enjoyable stay, but too bad about the noise. I think if we were to visit again, if it was over a weekend, I would pick somewhere that wasn't right in the center of town because it is noisy being a college town. Perhaps early/mid week it's quieter because students aren't staying out as late drinking.

Beatons Tearooms is a charming spot that draws inspiration from the elegance of Cecil Beaton, offering a delightful experience in Wiltshire. The tearoom provides a picturesque setting to enjoy a full high-tea selection with an extensive menu of over 25 loose-leaf teas, along with coffee, delectable cakes, fresh sandwiches, and scones with jam and cream.
We had cream tea and my daughter had a smoothie an a waffle . The scones were absolutely delicious best I have ever tasted , we picked the royal blend tea which was so nice the staff were lovley and really helpful and the place is reasonably priced great little place x

One of our favourite tea room destinations and today didnt disappoint. Diced bacon on thick slice of brie topping a layer of cranberry sauce on crunchy sourdough, delivered cheerfully by our smiling waitress

Nice full English for Mother’s Day, great place with quality food and even better paid for by my daughter! The mothers weren’t offered as many Mimosas as advertised but we still had a good time.

What a lovely place to have a Tearoom, That tea served lovely as is their cakes and the atmosphere is very peaceful and beautifully decorated insider and the tables outside, under the tree's, are a nice touch. Nice toilets as swell.

I absolutely loved their decor and vibe the moment I walked in! The lady at the store was so sweet and welcoming. Their scones were fluffy and soft with delectable savory and sweet options & the loose leaf tea was so fresh making it the best tea I've had during my visit in England. The bree n cranberry sandwich had the softest bread ever tasted that melts in your mouth. The French press coffee was so fresh and the experience of pressing it yourself is one of a kind. The towels in the bathroom was also so cute loved it! Will most definitely come back here if I visit again!

Absolutely adored this tearoom. Beautiful crockery; fabulous food; great staff. The Cherry Sencha and Ginger Polenta cake are delicious. My only disappointment was they wouldn't let me sneak my cup and saucer into my bag. 😁 Highly recommend and will definitely return. 💞

Highly recommend the caramel flavoured tea! Went nicely with my warm scones. We also chose a slice of cake each to take home to Bristol, a lovely end to our trip.

Beechfield House is an elegant country manor that boasts modern, tastefully decorated rooms and extensive gardens. Situated near popular attractions such as Bath, Longleat, Lacock, and Stonehenge, this 4 AA Red Star hotel occupies a charming late-Victorian building surrounded by 8 acres of stunning grounds. Guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, well-maintained walled garden, small arboretum, and picturesque lawn with ponds.
This is one of our favourite hotels. Clean rooms, the food, bar, lounge space, gardens, pool, so much on offer here. Our last stay was probably our best to date. Everything was on point and our minor concerns on a previous trip were dealt with excellently. From ensuring they had my husband's cider, reserving our favourite room and being so helpful with our afternoon tea when our elderly Aunt visited. Our stays are important to visit family and having a very comfortable base makes things much easier for us. Huge thanks to everyone especially Elaine. Also the amazing Kane looking after us, enduring my husband's cider jokes and making me the best espresso martini. Can't wait for our next visit.
Michelle A — Google review
We unfortunately had a very disappointing visit to Beechfield House. While we were very excited to come visit on a family holiday, the hotel has a lot of potential but is run down with poor service. We were surprise by the state of the grounds and rooms initially. There was a lot of dust & cobwebs in our room, and leftover milk spills on and around the coffee machine. On our first night of a 3 night stay, the water went out, with several members of our larger party mid shower when it happened. When this occurred no updates or communication was provided to us as guests. We just had to wait several hours for it to be resolved. On day 2, the hotel seemed to run out of everything- they had no towels, no beer, no glasses to serve drinks in. Despite putting the placard on our door handle, our room was not serviced. When one member of our party went to ask for some more toilet paper, they were directed to the shared toilet on the main floor to get a small handful- no new rolls were offered. It honestly felt like the team there did not wish to provide service for our family. We didn’t think we were asking for too much . But they seemed to think running water, towels and toilet paper was beyond the scope of their responsibilities to provide. On the positive side, the pool was wonderful and the breakfast was good! The spot has enormous potential under different management, but we were extremely disappointed by the experience we had.

What a gorgeous stay we had at the Beechfield house. It felt that you stayed at a relative’s house by how much staff is relatable and approachable. The food is very good too, breakfast super fresh and a good portion. The room was spectacular, really pleasant view was an extra, shower super powerful! Loads to do around or just a simply walk is breathtaking! We would definitely be returning!

Had a fantastic time at Beechfield staying in the Garden Apartment. All the staff are wonderful, striking a perfect balance between friendly and professional but a special shout out to Elaine. All the food we had there was excellent, especially the afternoon tea. Vegetarians, vegans and gluten free people are well catered for here. Being there during some of the hottest days of the year the outdoor pool was amazing.

A perfect birthday weekend away. A shame about the uncertainty surrounding what was/was not included in the Waitrose Magazine offer regarding dining. Other than that - the food was wonderful - as was the service from all staff. A quintessentially English Country House Hotel. We loved it.

My daughter and I had afternoon tea here, and it was just how we expected this to be! Lovely finger sandwiches with fresh bread, fresh warm scones, and a selection of tiny pastries and cakes. All served on a linen tablecloth by smiling friendly staff. Large choices of teas, and an alternative soft drink for my daughter who is also a non meat eater, and this was catered for with no problems. Thank you, we will return.

This is an absolutely lovely hotel, the berooms are very clean and comfortable. The pool and gardens are beautiful. The staff are very helpful one young man on reception was very knowledgeable about the history of this beautiful property. My friend and myself stayed in the coach house, my only criticism of this part of the hotel is that we didn't seem to be able to get cold water out of the bathroom tap, and a need for some sound proofing on the ceiling/floor as we could hear the guests upstairs constantly walking around. I appreciate that this might be possible due to the age of the property. Apart from those very small things we would definitely stay here again.
Andrea C — Google review
There was no offer of porter services to and from our room. We had to haul our luggage up 3 flights of steps. The room was smaller than expected, there was mold and peeling paint alsonear the bathtub. The dining staff were friendly. I was rather surprised at the price of 2 poach eggs, sausage and a small croissant at 19 pounds or $25.00 dollars. Each morning. If i had been given a an opportunity to know prior i wouldn't have ordered it. Maybe because i took the small croissant and butter off the breakfast buffet i was also charged for that also. It was disappointing. I emailed the manager but never received a reply as one of the staff agreed it wasn't good.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel in Bath. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax after exploring the city. The hotel itself is full of charm and offers some great facilities, including a peaceful garden and a relaxing spa, which really added to the experience. Breakfast was also a highlight — fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel genuinely welcome. If you’re looking for a place to unwind in Bath with great amenities and a warm atmosphere, this hotel is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had afternoon tea at the Royal crescent hotel and spa as a treat while we were visiting the city. Lovely restaurant and they allowed our two well behaved small dogs in too. Our orders were placed - 1 gluten free without egg mayo sandwich, the other was a classic afternoon tea, again with no mayo. When our afternoon tea arrived, both had egg sandwiches on , despite our requesting no egg!!! No one else was dining at that time so even the mistake cannot be put down to a busy period. Had I not noticed immediately, I wondered if my request for gluten free was in fact gluten free?? Our plates were exchanged immediately without any fuss, and we went on to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea

6/5 All. Day. Long! Royal treatment from arrival to departure. It’s the little things - name placard on door, beautifully presented gifts on the bed, warm welcomes from every single staff member, gorgeous grounds and perfect cocktails and a lovely breakfast made this stay absolutely incredible. Walk everywhere (ok … downhill - but then just Uber up!) I felt bathed in luxury the entire time I was there. Large, well appointed rooms. Luxurious bed and bedding! And, very serene. Go live your own Bridgerton moment! You deserve it.

We just returned from a short stay at the Royal Crescent Hotel on 21 June. The setting is spectacular— overlooking Bath city centre in one of the most iconic set of Georgian buildings in the world. Our room (Room 55) was lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom large and luxurious. Every detail in the room — from the furnishings to the upmarket toiletries courtesy of “Jo Loves” — felt very well curated. The service was very good. The staff were warm, professional, and welcoming. We took time to unwind in the spa —we especially enjoyed the pool and steam room. I’ll definitely be back. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for something truly special in Bath.

My wife and I had afternoon tea here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a delightful couple of hours with a wonderful selection of finger sandwiches (a standard selection of a vegetarian selection) pastries and buns with a selection of tea and coffee. The setting is wonderful and all the staff from the concierge to the waiters were welcoming and delightful. There are seats inside and outside in the garden. Highly recommended.

We had the evening spa package at Lucknam Park which included full use of the spa and a 3 course dinner. The spa was clean, relaxing and comfortable. We ate in the Walled Garden restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff again were fantastic, they were able to help with questions we had. The Sitting Room was really lovely, the team member in there knew his products and his knowledge he was able to provide about different drinks was amazing. The room was incredibly comfortable, clean and set up perfectly. Breakfast was in The Walled Garden, it was delicious, with plenty of options and local sourced ingredients. Highly recommended

Lucknam Park is honestly one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment you drive up that long tree-lined road, it just feels special. The setting is stunning, peaceful, and everything about it makes you instantly relax. Our room was gorgeous , cosy, elegant, and full of character. You can tell every detail has been thought through, from the bedding to the scent in the room. The spa is next level. The hydrotherapy pool, the outdoor hot pool under the trees, the thermal rooms , everything is spotless and beautifully designed. I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life, and the staff there genuinely care about how you feel. The food… wow. Every meal was incredible. Breakfasts were perfect, and dinner was honestly Michelin-level , rich flavours, beautifully presented, and made with proper passion. The service was flawless , friendly but never over the top. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets everything right , the food, the spa, the atmosphere, the people – but Lucknam Park really does. It’s peaceful, romantic, and feels like proper old-school luxury without any stuffiness. We left already planning our next trip back.

Teresa W — Google review
I recently visited **Lucknam Park Spa**, and overall, it was a really lovely and relaxing experience, though there are a few areas where it could be improved. #### **Getting There & First Impressions** The **directions were very straightforward** and easy to follow, which made the journey stress-free. Parking was also simple and convenient, with plenty of spaces available. As you arrive, the **grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained**, which sets a calming tone right from the start. #### **Reception & Changing Facilities** Finding my way into the spa was easy, and the **bar area near the entrance is gorgeous** — very welcoming and stylish. The staff were warm and friendly, and check-in was quick and simple. I was given a robe and headed straight to the changing rooms. The **changing rooms were lovely** — clean, modern, and spacious. The **automated lockers** are a big plus since you don’t need a fob, key, or code; it’s all hassle-free. #### **Spa Facilities** The spa itself is **contained within one main area**. It isn’t huge, but it’s thoughtfully designed and quite relaxing. The highlight for me was definitely the **hydrotherapy pool**, which extends into the garden area — a perfect spot to unwind. I can imagine it’s even better on a warm, sunny day, but even on a cooler day, it was really enjoyable. Inside, there are several thermal facilities: * **Japanese steam room** * **Herbal steam room** * **Infrared steam room** * **Traditional sauna** * **Infrared sauna** * **Ice shower/plunge** (this wasn’t working during my visit) While the facilities are clean and functional, the **spa itself does feel a little outdated** and not quite “luxury” level compared to other five-star spas. That said, there was someone regularly maintaining the space, clearing cups, and keeping everything tidy, which was appreciated. #### **Atmosphere & Vibe** One of the best things about my visit was how **peaceful and calm** it felt. The spa wasn’t busy at all — maybe around **10 people total** — which made it perfect for a **low-key, relaxing escape**. #### **Massage & Treatments** I had a **back massage** during my visit, and it was excellent. My therapist was **friendly, welcoming, and very skilled**, which made the experience even more enjoyable. #### **Overall Thoughts** * **Pros:** * Easy to find, stress-free parking * Beautiful, tranquil grounds * Lovely bar area and welcoming reception * Spacious, clean changing rooms with automated lockers * Hydrotherapy pool and garden area are definite highlights * Wide range of steam rooms and saunas * Friendly staff and excellent massage * **Cons:** * Spa facilities are a little **dated** * Doesn’t quite feel **five-star luxury** compared to others * Ice plunge/shower wasn’t working #### **Final Verdict** I’d give **Lucknam Park Spa a solid 7/10**. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a **calm, low-key spa day** with nice facilities and a peaceful atmosphere. The hydrotherapy pool and garden area are the real stars here. However, if you’re looking for the **ultimate luxury spa experience**, **South Lodge Spa in Horsham** still holds the top spot for me in terms of cleanliness, modern facilities, and overall ambience. That said, **Lucknam Park Spa** is definitely **worth checking out** — especially if you enjoy a tranquil setting and want somewhere relaxing without the crowds.

Went there for an afternoon tea - a group of 2 vegetarians and 1 vegan. Spectacular experience - customer service by Kin was so warm, it was just us in the beautiful tea room, and the location was superb. The vegan afternoon tea in particular exceeded all expectations - scones, cakes sandwiches, it didn’t feel like a compromise at all! 10/10 recommend as a leisurely experience that can easily take 2 hours - it’s so worth the money!

My wife and I visited Bath for a few days following a hike on the Cotswold Way. Noting on their website that the Roseate Villa provided a vegan option for afternoon tea, we made reservations. As vegans, we've found that options for higher-end dining experiences are few and far between, so this was something we eagerly anticipated. It was, to put it succinctly, one of the best experiences we had during our trip--and possibly one of the best experiences in our eight years of marriage. The setting was suitably elegant. The food was wonderful. The tea selections were uniformly excellent. And the service was absolutely impeccable.

We stayed for a 40th Birthday Celebration, merging two families was never easy. (We have twins so needed two cots) and the other party needed two Twin Beds aswell as a double. All accommodated. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, nothing could be faulted quite frankly. Such a rarity these days. Reception staff were amazing, room team had prepared our Cots as requested without prompt. Parking was easy and hotel located really well for exploring locally. A last minute addition to the trip was having an evening meal, we are always sceptical of hotel food as it’s often overpriced and not great quality. Whilst pricing wasn’t cheap, the convenience and then the quality more than made this good value. Food was excellent quality and choice (I’m a coeliac so never easy) Waiting staff absolutely smashed it out the park, Thankyou Morgan. Swimming pool was just what we were after and the breakfast to exit was simple but lots of choice and excellent value. Big well done team, for us you nailed it.

Fabulous weekend spent at the hotel and spa with friends (4 couples getting together). The rooms in the courtyard area are HUGE a d everything you could wish for is included, even complimentary access to the hotel's spa. The food was superb (generous portions also), however what really made the weekend special for us was the service received from the staff. They were outstanding, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention must go to Lewis and Hana - both are a real credit to the hotel. Thank you guys!

He spent a long weekend in the Cotswold and this hotel had a fantastic location. As well as great facilities like the pool and sauna to come back to after a long day exploring. Extremely quiet and the room was amazingly big! We will come back for another getaway for sure.

Absolutely awesome place. Amazing friendly staff, lovely comfortable rooms, great food, stunning views. Breakfast was great. There was only two members of staff on breakfast and they worked their socks off to meet everyone's requests and get breakfast out. They deserve great praise as they did such a great job. We will 100% be visiting there again. The whole experience was wonderful and we felt very relaxed when we left. Thank you so much to all the staff for a wonderful night

Excellent venue for a peaceful relaxing break. The rooms are beautiful clean and fresh. The spa is well kept and quiet. Having breakfast included in the price was excellent value for money. Drinks are expensive however. Been three times now and each occasion has been perfect.

Pleasant room with decent bath and shower in courtyard complex. Plenty of parking and nice views from terrace bar in the evening. Stayed for business. Local town centre few minutes away by car.

Had booked the spa and massage for this morning and unfortunately one of our children was sick through the night and unable to go to school so called at 7am to advise we now can’t make it and asked to rebook it. Was met by a very unhelpful “manager” who couldn’t care less about our situation and said they can’t rebook it or refund it so basically lump it. £90 for absolutely nothing is crazy and I’m astonished at the “managers” attitude which included putting the phone down on me because she wouldn’t listen or took any care in what I was saying. She then said she will take my number and get the general manager to call me and then said “oh but they are busy all day today so they won’t call today and I don’t know when they will” goes to show the level of care this business provides to it’s “customers”. Absolutely shambolic behaviour, I’d advise you to go elsewhere any cost!!

The Jane Austen Centre, located on historic Gay Street in Bath, is a small museum dedicated to the life and times of the renowned writer. Visitors can explore the well-preserved former townhome with a period-costumed guide and view various displays and materials related to Austen's time in Bath. The city itself was a popular destination for the upper classes during Austen's era due to its famous baths, rural setting, and vibrant social scene.
✨ A must-visit for any Jane Austen fan! ✨ I absolutely loved my visit to the Jane Austen Centre - from the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by wonderful costumed actors who bring the Regency era to life. The introduction talk was so engaging, and seeing the Jane Austen waxwork made it feel like she was right there with us! I adored dressing up in Regency costumes and trying my hand at writing with an authentic quill and ink - such a charming touch. And the perfect finish? Relaxing upstairs in the beautiful Tea Room with delicious treats. A magical experience I’d highly recommend! 💕📜🎩☕️

Definitely a Austen lover's place to visit. Informative and fun... delightful character players who were wonderful! Delightful vintage tearoom ... High teas were amazing! Highlight getting to dress up for photos! Highly recommend

If you're looking for a serious, highly detailed museum experience, this might not be it, but it's not a bad thing. The Jane Austen Centre is an entertaining and whimsical tribute to Jane Austen's life and work, not to be taken too seriously. The entire experience is made special by the staff, who are incredibly invested in their roles. Each of them adopts a name from Austen's novels. Their presentation on Austen is entertaining and full of energy. They make it clear that the goal is fun, not a dry lecture, and they are happy to answer any questions you have about Austen's life, showing a genuine passion for the subject. The interactive elements, like getting to dress up in period costumes and try your hand at writing with a quill, add to the charm. It's a lighthearted and engaging way to step back in time. The small gift shop is also worth a look for unique souvenirs.

We started our trip there - what a way to start. My kids surprised me with a trip for my birthday. The host and staff were amazing - they made the experience real. They dressed the part and their subtle ways of talking was refreshing without being cheesy. Thank you for a lovely day.

We came for the ‘Mr Darcy’s Afternoon Tea’. Glad we called and made a reservation beforehand. The sandwiches, scones, and tea were delicious! The cakes were pretty dry. Nice, quick service and a fun environment. All the staff in the house were kind and happy to chat.

I had so much fun in this little adorable museum. I didn't do any further research about this place before I visited (I only know there is a Jane Austen museum in Bath). That's why I was shocked and impressed when I first saw all their staff dressed beautifully in those special costumes, which made them unreal to me. They are all very welcoming, friendly and charming! There was a lot to experience in the museum, the Austen family history, stuff from or regarding her literature & movies, a short video about Jane which made me emotional, because I noticed that a lot of the background music was from the movie "Becoming Jane" starred by Anne Hathaway and James Mcavoy (one of my favorite movie back in school time). Please stop here and spend sometime for the video clip - it's so lovely. They also offer costumes so you can dress up and take photos (i love that). Do talk to those lovely staff if possible, they shared a lot of stories behind those photos!!

I really wanted to love this place because I came to bath specifically with Jane Austen in mind but it’s small, old, outdated, and it was so hot inside the small room where the tour started. I believe this might be a private business not run by a trust or the city of Bath. For the price, unless you’re a die-hard fan, you can take a picture with her statue outside and explore other parts of the city.
Tanielle P — Google review
I love the whole Jane Austen experience. From the moment you enter, all your favorite book characters come to live, and greet you. The tour was so much fun, ending the museum experience with a try it on regency outfits! The museum experience was so interactive. After touring the museum, I had tea in the regency tea room. It was fantastic. The staff was really polite and helpful. The tea room is adorable! This whole experience made my day ❤️ Thank you for making my Jane Austen dreams come true!

The Bath Bun is a classic sweet treat from Georgian Bath, known for its sweet enriched yeast dough, glazed exterior, and surprise lump of sugar in the middle. Even Jane Austen was a fan of this delightful bun. You can experience a traditional British afternoon tea at The Bath Bun Tea Shoppe, where you can enjoy gourmet sandwich fillings and homemade cakes in an old-school setting.
The Bath Bun is a charming little spot full of old-world character, perfect for a classic English tea experience. 🫖 It’s best known for serving the traditional Bath Bun, a soft, sweet bun topped with crushed sugar and filled with currants or candied fruit. Even though I don’t usually like this type of taste, I still found it enjoyable and worth trying. It’s part of the local history after all! The tea shop itself is cozy and beautifully decorated, with a lovely vintage feel. They serve a nice teas, light meals, and other traditional treats. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the location is perfect—just around the corner from Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. A great little stop while exploring the city!

When the weather permits, sitting outside is delightful. The wee square has a gorgeous, large tree for shade and the ambiance is serene. I was there on a random Thursday morning however so I can’t speak for weekend traffic. Also I discovered tea cakes = fruit toast. Delicious nonetheless, but if you were expecting 🍰 you’d potentially be disappointed

Yesterday I went to Bath and for lunch I decided to stop by the Bath Bun Cafe for some tea. It was honestly such a beautiful experience. The cafe itself has such a lovely, cosy aesthetic, and the vibes were incredible. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and despite how busy it was, they managed everything so efficiently with hardly any wait time. I was seated outside, and the view was just immaculate. Even the first floor of the cafe has such a charming atmosphere everything about it feels warm and inviting. I’ve actually been to this cafe once before, about three years ago, and it was just as amazing then, so I really wanted to relive that same experience. This time, I had a tea, scone, and baguette, and it was absolutely incredible. The service was just wonderful, especially the main lady there (I wish I remembered her name). She was so kind and attentive, always checking in and letting me know if there was any slight delay. Her friendliness really made the whole experience even more special. I really loved the energy, the food, and the people. It’s also very reasonably priced. I would highly, highly recommend Bath Bun Cafe to anyone visiting Bath. Try the Bath Bun, the scones, and enjoy the afternoon tea experience. It’s honestly such a gem of a place. If I lived in Bath, I think I’d be there almost every day!

Lovely place, you can either sit outside or inside in the second floor, the view and decoration are amazing. The staffs are cute and friendly too, good tea and food. Highly recommended for anyone who visiting Bath, you really have to try this once
Nhật K — Google review
Was a bit disappointed after we'd been recommended this tea room to visit for a classic cream tea. The scone was a lovely big scone, but it was a bit dry and the small amount of jam was served in a plastic tub on the plate which just seemed a tad cheap. There was a decent amount of cream supplied but the tea pot, instead of being a classic pot to match the cup was a tin one, along with the milk jug. It wasn't a bad experience of an English cream tea but far from one of the better. The staff were lovely and very friendly.
Chloe H — Google review
Service was friendly, but slow to deliver. The famous Bath bun was extremely disappointing… like having a burger bun with a cube of sugar inside. Happy to have tried it, but wouldn’t recommend it.

I had the strawberries and cream bath bun and it was lovely and sweet. The strawberries were juicy and the bun was fluffy! The tuna baguette was also delicious and the bread was crisp and not too hard.

Anetta has been fabulous and gave us good recommendations to the tapas choices. She has great knowleage of wine and champagne and we very much enjoyed her explanation to food. Colonna & Small's is a modern café with a sleek design that serves specialty coffee and an assortment of delectable cakes. Since its establishment in 2009, the café has been delighting locals and tourists in Bath with top-quality coffee. The founders were inspired by the Third Wave Coffee movement, which influenced their vision for the café. Renowned for serving exceptional coffee, Colonna & Small's was even awarded the title of Best Coffee Shop in Europe in 2016.
Colonna & Small's – what a beauty. I ordered myself an iced oat milk latte and it was just the thing for the summer heat. The plain croissant and the chocolate one were both buttery, fresh and absolutely delicious. The vibe is minimalist and it’s definitely a must-visit. I only wish I had more time to sit and work from this lovely café, enjoying their excellent speciality coffee.

Specialist coffee café (don't ask for tea!) They do a very good standard filter or expresso coffee selection or you can go for the more expensive 'hand picked by fairies' range of special beans. Seriously this is a good cafe for the coffee connoisseur. There is seating in a small garden at the back accessible by stairs. Just a single toilet in the basement.

Very cool coffee shop that has a variety of coffee beans. Very clean, bright, high-ceiling, modern option with a nice rear patio. Great service. Society and C&S are great choices for your Java fix, whereas Society is my old-school and funky. Note - check opening times- the weekends are rather late— on the first day there were closed so we had to return for afternoon coffee.

If you're looking for a whimsical twist on the classic afternoon tea experience, The Mad Hatter's Tea Party in Bath is an enchanting destination. This charming, family-run café draws inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, creating a delightful atmosphere filled with quirky decor and mismatched china. Guests can indulge in an array of freshly made sandwiches, delectable homemade cakes, and warm scones that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Booked an afternoon tea via email which was super easy. Got there and the staff were so lovely, really good sandwiches , scones were perfect and the cake was amazing. Wholesome place for any occasion

The food and atmosphere were great! The shop was very cute and we had the afternoon tea. I had the brie and grape sandwich which was delicious and refreshing. My son had the BLT which was stuffed with yummy bacon. The plain scones with jam were thick and just the perfect amount of sweetness. We were too full for the cakes but took them with us. They made for an excellent dinner - the victorian sponge cake was wonderfully flavorful and the sweet cream was perfect! The staff were very kind even with being very busy on a terribly hot day. If you are looking for a cute location with very flavorful food, I highly recommend checking them out.

Had afternoon tea at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and went for their £26 offer, which includes two cakes, two scones, sandwiches, fruits and unlimited hot drinks. The Alice in Wonderland vibe was really cute. I had the brie and cranberry sandwiches and my friend went for the pesto chicken. To be completely honest, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the sandwiches, but the drinks and desserts made up for it. Their hot drinks are really nice, and the cakes and scones were definitely the highlight. Overall, you get what you pay for. It’s a good deal, especially with the unlimited drinks, and the whole experience has a really nice atmosphere. Worth it for a chill, aesthetic afternoon out.

Booked an afternoon tea for a birthday treat for my daughter. The food was lovely, you're offered a selection of sandwiches and a choice of cakes from ywhich you choose your preference alongside scones, jam and cream. You are offered tea or coffee, again of your choice, and this is unlimited. The portion size was plentiful and tasted delicious. What you didn't eat was boxed and bagged to take away. The service was professional and polite. The bathroom is tiny (and I mean tiny). You almost have to perch sideways over the seat to pee, no paper hand towels available, only a hand dryer, which isn't great for infection control being it's such a tiny room. I have starred Mad Hatters Tea Room 3 stars simply because the price lets it down. The cost was expensive at £52 for two people (£26 each) this making it the most expensive afternoon tea I have had (and I've had a few). The bathroom facility needs an upgrade and needs to supply paper hand towels. If you're interested in booking, make sure you're aware of the price before you visit as it's a nasty shock when the bill arrives.

I had cream tea and it was decent. Beautiful view as it is near the bridge and river at Bath. However for £6.99 I expected a little more clotted cream and better quality jam. The cafe is very cute though and guy serving was friendly.

What a fantastic place! It was easy to find, with a large car park that made arriving stress-free. The prices were very reasonable, and I was delighted to see plenty of healthy options available. The site is wonderfully accessible, with great facilities for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. The spacious grounds are home to alpacas, geese, ducks, donkeys, cows and horses, making it a joy to explore. The lovely café had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly, helpful staff and a short wait time for service. The setting is simply stunning—a peaceful rural valley surrounded by rolling hills, with red kites soaring overhead. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!

I’ve heard so much about the Rowdey Cow, and it definitely lived up to the hype! They serve the best ice cream in Wiltshire, it was so good that I went back the very next day after arriving too late the first time. Despite the queue for the generous portions, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially for families. The surrounding area offers a lovely farmyard setting for kids to enjoy, completely free of charge. There aren’t many places like this that offer such a great experience without an entry fee. I highly recommend the Rowdey Cow for kids and families – it’s a must-visit!

Very popular spot that is family orientated. We enjoyed our lunch! Staff are pleasant, and helpful. Our food arrived promptly, and was hot and tasty. Now been here twice and I just love it here, it’s such a cute little farm with a lovely little cafe. Ice cream definitely seems to be their speciality with the biscoff sundae I had being sublime. I will say however the second time I went I decided to have some food and found the price was extortionate for the quantity of food and although it was nice will most likely stick to ice cream and milkshakes next time.

Always welcoming staff who go out of there way to make the experience pleasant. Food is spot on with a very good range of locally sourced ingredients. Of course the ice cream is the standout feature and will see you coming back again and again!

This was a meeting point for us for a family get together and having on site parking made it convenient. The food was reasonable but the sun room was noisy. Service was ok but not great (we had to ask twice for the table to be cleaned and we almost went without paying because we were forgotten) although we did receive a warm welcome. It was fun to look at the animals and walk around. It's close to Caen Locks which is worth a visit if you're already in the area.

Lovely place to stop for a cuppa if visiting the Jane Austen Centre or are just walking by. We enjoyed a nice selection of teas and scones in a period setting. The best afternoon tea I have ever had! I’m not sure what the other reviews are talking about, but the scones were hot and fresh. The sandwiches were excellent, and the pastries were sublime. The service was very fast, and the servers were extremely kind. It was also only £29.50 per person, making it very affordable as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for afternoon tea in Bath.

We booked Mr Darcy’s afternoon tea during Jane Austen Festival. Definitely a special experience, the staff were friendly and helpful, the cafe was very elegant with periods music as a background. Tasty sandwiches and scones as well as a nice selection of good quality teas.
Kamila W — Google review
I was really excited for this experience, but in the end I left feeling like it was alright but nothing special. We arrived 15 minutes early to our reservstion and asked staff if it was okay to head into the tea room which they agreed to and encouraged, but when we entered the staff inside told us the table wouldn't be ready until exact time of the reservation and we should go back downstairs to wait. Unfortunately, the stairwell gets very crowded due to the layout of the building so it was difficult to go up and down the stairs. If there was an area to wait upstairs or if staff didn't encourage us to go up early, I think the experience would have started off better. The afternoon tea itself took a very long time to come out despite it being a set menu that we booked in advance. I enjoyed the charming little timer to let you know when to pour your tea, and the tea itself was good. The finger sandwiches were standard. The scones were served warm, and the plain scone was delicious! Unfortunately, the fruit scone was the opposite: hard, dry, and tasted as if it had been sitting out for a long time. All the pastries on top were okay, but nothing was particularly special. I was hoping for nice theming of tea sets or desserts at the Regency Tea Room, but in the end it just is an okay afternoon tea that could be found elsewhere. Overall, I still enjoyed my time, but I am not sure if I would come back to the tea room even if I visit the centre again.

Food was great, but also small orders are very filling! I do recommend booking the food in advance to have a broader selection. Great selection of teas. So kind and patient with everything. Trying to accommodate what they can while they are usually fully booked and have limited capacity but that has no influence on their service. I hope they are met with the same kindness they show customers as it.

Georgian Tearooms, located on Abbey Street, offers a unique and traditional experience with over 20 carefully selected teas. The two-tiered High Tea includes a variety of sandwiches, homemade cakes, biscuits, scones with jam and clotted cream, and a pot of tea. The tearoom has a laid-back atmosphere complemented by the soothing tunes of an in-house pianist. Visitors appreciate the relaxing pale blue decor and friendly staff who provide excellent service even during closing hours.
My partner and I went for an afternoon tea type situation, as I was desperate to have a scone and jam whilst we were in Bath. He doesn’t like scones, but they have something for everyone and he ordered a chocolate cake that looked amazing. I would’ve loved if I could have had clotted cream instead of butter but I’m not even sure if they offer it, I was delighted anyway. We had originally sat outside but due to the amount of seagulls and my fear of birds, we had to move inside. Even though it was busy, the girls on shift cleared up the tables extremely quickly, and if it wasn’t for their efficiency, my partner’s phone could have been stolen, as he’d accidentally left it on the table outside when we had moved to a table inside. The decor was lovely inside.

Tea with a view. Maybe it was the spectacular ambience or the incredible weather but this was a very pleasant rest stop. Coffee was tasty, tea hit the spot and they were even thoughtful enough to bring extra hot water. Staff were super pleasant and helpful which was refreshing. Washrooms were basic but clean and functional although it might be a challenge for those with limited mobility, if that's you, don't drink so much! Price was surprisingly inexpensive for somewhere with such an incredible view, £6ish for a pot of tea and a coffee. Certainly not obscene for Bath. Can definitely appreciate the fact this wasn't a chain though prices could trick you otherwise.

A delightful experience at the Georgian Tearoom in Bath! From the moment we stepped in, the service was impeccable – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations. The ambiance of the tearoom itself is charming, perfectly capturing the historical elegance of Bath. It's the ideal spot for a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable meal or afternoon tea. Highly recommend a visit to the Georgian Tearoom for anyone looking for great food and outstanding service in Bath!

A lovely place to stop and watch the world pass by, just by the abbey and down from the historic plane tree. Great helpings, good tea, and a lovely setting. Priced for tourists, it’s still reasonable to have afternoon tea for two here.

We treated ourselves to a Georgian Cream Tea and everything was absolutely first class. The scone was warm and fresh, not too much cream and the tea and coffee was delicious. The staff/service was also brilliant, very friendly and efficient. I've had a cream tea at the famous "Betty's Tea Room" in York and I can honestly say that the one we had at the Georgian Tearooms was far superior while also being cheaper!

Nice little place. We decided to have lunch on Sunday. Went for jacket with cheese and my other half went for homemade lasagna. Food was nice but we were not wowed , just average. I had a cream tea too and scone was delicious with the clotted cream and jam. Service was nice and quick despite being busy.

The Roman bath tea rooms were full so I popped into here and I thought it was equally as good. The environment is a classic house which adds to the vintage feel. The ladies in charge of service were super kind and friendly. I personally had a great time

The Refectory, located near the cathedral and cloisters, has remained open throughout the lockdown, offering freshly baked goods, such as bread, pastries, and cakes. They also serve takeaway coffee. The staff is known for their friendliness and welcoming attitude. The cafe provides a unique dining experience with an option to eat under a glass roof while gazing at the tower or in the serene surroundings of the cloisters. The menu features innovative dishes with vegetarian options available.
Very convenient location inside Salisbury Cathedral. Great service with smile even they were full packed inside so got seats out. Cream tea and scones were top listed and delicious. I like the glass roof for more bright light. I think everyone need tea or coffee after spending time in Cathedral. Even bought some gifts from there as there was a gift shop in it.

Beautiful restaurant located within Salisbury cathedral. Extremely reasonable price. Afternoon tea with warm fruit scone/cream/jam and pot of tea or filter coffee is just £7 50. Plenty of seating in the restaurant or outside within the cathedral. Very friendly staff too.

The location is beautiful, but the food is bland and overpriced. Overall, it has the atmosphere of a school cafeteria. While you can eat in the courtyard, which looks amazing, the tables and chairs are covered in bird droppings. Disappointing experience.
Julien — Google review
Nice restaurant, very convenient as it’s inside Salisbury Cathedral. Lovely warm atmosphere, staff were very friendly and helpful. The roast chicken which I had was delicious however my husband ordered a BLT baguette; a single piece of bacon, and quite dated salad.
Han L — Google review
Cream tea tasted perfect after a long floor tour of the Cathedral. I was sitting outside and enjoying the English scones with cream and raspberry jam and admiring the view of the cathedral garden. A very pleasant experience!

Wonderful place to chill and eat or have a tea or coffee. Windows above your head enable you to see the cathedral and spire so fantastic location and setting. Had the cream tea and whilst it's nice to get proper tea in a pot and scone was good the amount of cream and jam was rather disappointing. Could have done with double 😂
Phil R — Google review
We had an egg mayonnaise baguette and it was cold and solidly inedible. It looked lovely but only the filling was good. Then I had a jam doughnut. What a disappointment, it could have been a cannonball. Again, inedible.

This was the worst food we have eaten for many years. The veg soup was like mushed up baby food. Completely bland with absolutely no flavour. The sandwiches with so called artisan bread were embarrassing. At least any artisan would be embarrassed to produce such a rock. The scones were yesterday's (or maybe even older?) Petrol station sandwiches would be loads better than this food. Very disappointing

Fisherton Mill Gallery | Cafe | Studios is a unique establishment located in a Victorian grain mill that has been transformed into a vibrant collection of businesses. It stands out as the crown jewel of Salisbury, offering an award-winning cafe, the largest independent art gallery in the South West region, and various creative shops to explore. The Gallery Cafe is renowned for its seasonal menu and accommodation of dietary preferences. Additionally, the studios upstairs house individual outlets showcasing diverse crafts such as sustainable fashion, garden design, and jewelry.
This establishment has a hybrid personality. There is a fine offering of artworks on offer plus tourist trinkets. It is so full (almost over packed) that it is hard to differentiate all the different offerings. A well spent afternoon.

The cafe - which covers a large space inside and a courtyard outside - is an oasis of calm. We had coffees - which were excellent - and admired the fantastic looking cakes. We had just eaten so didn't have room but I will make sure I do next time 😁 I was very impressed by the shop area next to the cafe. It's full of beautiful handmade items at very reasonable prices. I think I could find a gift for pretty much anyone I know here, plus there's a wall of lovely cards covering pretty much every occasion - so it has all the bases covered for present buying.

I eet lunch here fairly often, probably every 2-3 months. The menu changes regularly, and there's always something I want to eat, that I haven't had before, and it has always tasted good. Freshly prepared salads, quiches, soups, and last time I had a salt beef bagel. Typically costs about £15-20 per head.

I don't think I've ever eaten in a cafe where the staff have been so polite and helpful. The cafe here is a very pleasant place to stop for a bite to eat. Comins Tea is a serene and modern tea house run by the passionate owners, Michelle and Rob Comins. The minimalist space offers a wide selection of single-estate teas from around the world, with precise brewing instructions provided. In addition to their high-quality teas, they also serve homemade cakes and biscuits infused with tea flavors. The shop also offers an array of authentic Chinese, Japanese, and Taiwanese teas along with dumplings for lunch and cakes in the afternoon.
I enjoyed a leisurely pot of tea and delicious cherry cake while chatting with the owner. He was very passionate and knowledgable and really made my experience very interesting and enjoyable (without any pretentiousness or foodie nonsense)! I would happily return with friends and family and encourage everyone to take the plunge and go inside to experience a great cup of tea.

This place is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely — you can take your time and relax. They have a huge variety of teas. I highly recommend the tea tasting set. The price is great for the value. You can steep the tea leaves several times. The caramel cake was decadent. I will absolutely be back.

Wow what an experience! I got in contact with these guys whilst trying to find a place to take my tea obsessed girlfriend for lunch. I received an email back from Michelle who gave me all the info I needed and also arranged for a candle to be put in our cake. We went for the two person sharing board with a different tea each. Everything about the food was great, the whole tea experience with a timer was brilliant. We were given a great amount of info from the waitress about the tea and how it was made. I actually drank more tea in the hour I was there than I have done I’ve the last ten years. If you’re a fan of tea, this is the place to go! The only thing we felt the place needed was a tiny bit of background music, otherwise it was perfect!

The most amazing cafe for tea lovers! A must visit. This cafe is awesome. A huge selection of teas that can be recommended to you by the wonderful owner. The brewing method is also taught to you so you are able to brew your own tea. Amazing flavours and a really nice ambience inside. Really highly recommended

Fantastic tea shop hidden in plain sight! Came across it on a Monday lunchtime, not too busy unlike some coffee shops a stones throw away. The amount of tea is astounding! I went for the 'Ruby Black' which was devine. Also opted for the veg gyoza which were also beautiful, the sriracha sauce adds a great choice for a spicy kick! Staff were friendly and informative, not too intrusive with the choices and explained the brewing times that each tea we chose had. Loved the fact they left you with a pot of hot water to refill as you went along! The cake choice was also lovely - the ginger cake was gorgeous! Cant recommend enough if you want a delightful change from the generic coffee shops all over Bath.

As a Taiwanese, I’m glad I can taste Taiwanese tea in the UK. It makes me feel like going back to Taiwan and already visited many times. Their dessert is good, and I like scones with black tea. Gyoza is good with oolong or green tea. The price is valuable, and the service is friendly. Highly recommend this!!!!!!!

The Bath Spa Hotel is an elegant retreat set in a Georgian mansion surrounded by picturesque parkland. Guests can indulge in countryside activities, relax at the posh spa with indoor and outdoor pools, thermal cabins, and meditation areas. The hotel's location offers fine country views over Bathampton Down and easy access to attractions like Sydney Gardens and The Holburne Museum.
We had a lovely stay here for our anniversary. The rooms were lovely and a super comfy bed, all the staff were so friendly and helpful they couldn’t do enough for us. We had a lovely lunch and some drinks and a great time in the spa. There was an indoor/outdoor heated pool and lots of sauna/steam rooms. Chelsea the spa manager was especially helpful and catered to all of our needs. Highly recommend this hotel and spa and we will be back!

Had another fantastic stay at this hotel! Funny enough, I was here around the same time last year and even made a YouTube video about it which did really well. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed, no complaints there. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the bar staff in particular kept us laughing. We even ended up joining a wedding party, which made for a really fun night! Drinks were on the pricier side (with a service charge added), so it turned out to be an expensive evening, but still a memorable one. As a regular gym-goer, I really appreciated the spa facilities especially the multiple saunas, which were excellent. The gym itself was a little smaller than I expected, but I still managed to get a solid full-body workout in. Overall, a great hotel with lots of character. We’ll definitely be back, thanks again to the team!

spent my birthday weekend at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel and it was absolutely lovely. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious, and beautifully decorated, the bed was so comfortable that it really set the tone for a relaxing stay. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. James Alexander was incredibly helpful, and Fabio, one of the waiters, went above and beyond to attend to every need. My mom and I both had spa treatments, and the girls at the spa were so kind and welcoming they made the whole experience a hundred times better. The location is perfect. On Saturday we strolled into Bath’s old town without any problem ( no need for buses or taxis ) and the walk back to the hotel was just as easy. The premises are stunning, both inside and out. I loved spending time in the lounge area by the fire, and the food was excellent. Everything about the place is picture-perfect and it photographs beautifully. Overall, it was a very relaxing weekend and a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. I’d love to come back again in the future highly recommend!
Nouhaila A — Google review
I stayed at this hotel for 7 days, booking two rooms—one for me and my wife and one for my parents. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. There is no in-room phone facility; instead, each bedroom only has a QR code that guests must scan in order to contact reception. This is impractical for elderly guests, and even if scanned, the call connects through the guest’s national phone network, which makes it almost impossible for international visitors to reach reception. On the one occasion I tried, no one even answered. Staff behavior was another major issue. While I was waiting for room confirmation, the senior manager Benice Hampton spoke to me in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. When I politely mentioned that my parents were seated in the lounge and asked if they could be shown to their room, she cut me off and said: “I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF, SO HEAR ME CAREFULLY.” Her tone was as if she were a professor lecturing a student, full of arrogance and attitude. This was shocking and set a very negative tone for the rest of my stay. Another staff member, Anisha Thakkar at the reception, was also discourteous—barely engaging, showing poor manners, and constantly fixated on her computer while guests waited. The only saving grace was the hospitality of Nilesh Kumar (F&B Manager), who was consistently kind, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences I have had, and I strongly recommend avoiding this property.

Hotel is Lovely. Spa treatment was great. Seat cushions by the pool all need replacing. Changing rooms a little tired. Food was excellent. Would be nice if you actually got side dishes like potato or veg with the meal, having to add these makes it very expensive. Service very good. Breakfast was excellent. Room Lovely.
V T — Google review
Today, during my visit to the spa section of your hotel, I once again encountered extremely rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional behaviour from a middle-aged Egyptian man wearing glasses at the reception. Unfortunately, this staff member showed no willingness to assist, used a highly inappropriate tone, and spoke to me in a manner that made me feel unwelcome and almost as if I were being told to leave. This is not the first time I have experienced this behaviour. Initially, I thought he might have been having a bad day, but it has become clear that he is consistently like this. I visit the spa regularly, but whenever this staff member is on duty, he appears upset at the sight of customers. Instead of being welcoming and polite, he is unhelpful and rude. I have witnessed this behaviour multiple times with my friends as well. I live and work locally, and hospitality in this area is generally very good. However, whenever my friends or I visit this spa, if this person is at the reception, he lets us down. On one occasion a few weeks ago, when several of us went randomly, he actively tried to turn us away and disrupted our day. This behaviour is completely unacceptable, especially in a place where guests expect relaxation, professional service, and courteous treatment. I request that this matter be thoroughly investigated, that appropriate disciplinary action be taken against this staff member, and that measures are implemented to ensure such incidents do not happen again. My friends and I also intend to formally submit complaints to hotel management regarding his behaviour and disrespectful attitude.

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the hotel and were very disappointed with our experience. When arrived (about 3.30pm) there was a long queue for reception and only one staff member serving. Luckily a group of people in front of us gave up queueing but even so it took nearly half an hour to check in. The guy who checked us in said they had two members of staff off sick. Fine but surely other staff could be drafted to help out at such a busy time?Even though we were staying in the 2nd most expensive suite in the hotel no one offered us help with our bags and there is no route from reception to our room that doesn't involve stairs. The breakfast we had on our first morning was the worst I have had at almost any hotel let along one that claims to be 5 star. The choice of food was poor and low quality and there was almost none of it left at 9.30am (breakfast is available well past then) and no plates! Again there were too few staff. We waited for 40 minutes for our cooked breakfast order to be taken and then gave up. We complained and at least we got such breakfast as we had free. Poor breakfast seems to be a feature of Macdonald hotels as we had an equally bad experience at their Edinburgh hotel. Our suite was pleasant and comfortable (for the price) but very noisy first thing in the morning as it is quite close to the road and the windows are only single glazed. Bottled water was provided on night one but not replenished on night two. There is no information in the room about the hotel which is unhelpful if like us you temporarily mislay your welcome letter. The Macdonald's website is no help in that regard. The tv has no (obvious) information either and only seemed to have free to air channels and no internet connectivity. The wifi in the room was at best sporaidic. The spa is no more than ok - the swimming pool is quite small and easily gets crowded. We tried getting a drink from the bar but again there were too few staff and too long a wait. Having failed to get room service (see below) I tried the bar again and this time got service and a number of free drinks. The barman was helpful and apologetic again saying a key member of bar staff was not in work. As other reviewers have pointed out there are no phones in the rooms. Apparently they got rid of them during covid. To contact reception or attempt to get room service requires dialling an outside number which bizarely is a Glasgow number. Perhaps they have a call centre there as their HQ is close to Glasgow? In any event we tried phoning the number for room service and it rang continuously or simply dropped without answering.

Recently came here for lunch. On arrival, plenty of empty seats but they were all dirty. We sat at a table, where they finally picked up. I had to ask to have the food crums cleaned. Ordered my food, they brought my dessert before my sandwich. My wife got her main course 4-5 minutes before I did, plus they screwed up my order. Taste was good however.

Pleasant cafe/restaurant. Food tasty, had the pie special, chicken and bacon with seasonal veg. Strangely, gravy was served in a small cow creamer! With a flat white coffee came to just over £20. As a one-off treat fine, but won’t come here with young family… too expensive. Staff pleasant and efficient.

A really pretty place to be in. Didn't know they had afternoon tea set but had to be booked beforehand. Would definitely love to try that next time. The desserts they had were really nice too. Worth visiting and lovely spot for your photos.

The place is undeniably charming—think pastel hues, floral touches, and an Instagram-ready vibe that makes you want to snap a photo before you even sit down. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt cozy yet lively, perfect for a little treat stop in the heart of Bath. The food? Really good! Everything I tried tasted fresh and delicious, with the cakes being a standout—moist, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The menu has a nice variety, and it’s great to see options for different dietary needs like vegan and gluten-free. It’s clear they put effort into making things taste good and look even better. That said, it’s a little expensive for what you get. The portions are fair, but the prices feel a tad steep—especially if you’re just popping in for a quick coffee and a sweet treat. It’s not outrageous, but it’s something to note if you’re on a budget. Still, the quality and experience make it worth a visit. I’d definitely go back for another tasty indulgence!

The decor of this place along with seeing it online is what drew us in. Unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype, the hot chocolate was cold and the cookie was quite hard. My partner asked if we could have the cookie warmed slightly to combat it being hard, staff member serving informed us ‘we don’t do that’. Bit of a shame as first impressions go, and probably wouldn’t visit again based on the above. Very pretty cafe and can understand the curb appeal however we had better treats and service elsewhere in Bath.

I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

booked a vegetarian afternoon tea, called on the day and they said it wasn’t vegetarian and to change it would be a cancellation fee. this was rectified, however for the price, the afternoon tea was dire, 4 tiny sandwiches (if i can call them that) which tasted horrible - hummus and cucumber, tomato and avocado? surely there is so much veg option and this is what is chosen? the scones were nice, as were the sweet treats. we wanted to order some extra food, however, there was only 1 veg option, which was not available so we had to go for the 1 vegan option. the drinks were free refills, however i only got asked once for a drink and my husband had to go and ask, the glasses with the juice in were stained and looked as if they hadn’t been washed. the highchair they also gave was sticky and looked like it had never been wiped down. also the decor is faux flowers, which we were sat right underneath and they were covered in dust and looking a musty grey colour. despite this, we were so polite and didn’t mention anything, however the server was extremely stand offish with us from the minute we entered, which made us uncomfortable, so we paid and left quite quickly. i have been here in the past and it wasn’t ever like this, however this experience was a big let down and we wish we didn’t book it for our anniversary. i understand every business doesn’t have the best days everyday, but we did feel disappointed as we did drive from birmingham especially to go here, as i mentioned, i enjoyed going there previously.

No.15 by GuestHouse in Bath is a refined boutique hotel located on one of the loveliest streets in the city, housed in a Georgian Grade-listed building. The hotel features a cafe, bar, and afternoon tea, as well as a basement spa with treatment rooms, cedar wood hot tub, sauna, steam room and post-massage 'retreat room'. The owners have creatively blended original fittings with quirky touches like artworks by students at Bath Spa University and hand-blown glass lights.
I don’t normally leave reviews but wanted to recognise the excellence of the team at No.15 in hosting a special birthday dinner for my wife and 12 friends. The service was impeccable - attentive but discrete, and the food of excellent quality. The private dining room has a large single table and high ceilings and was perfect for dinner parties. Lucy was also great with the booking - thank you all.

Can't fault our stay here. Service was real, welcoming and considerate. Celebrated our anniversary in style. We found breakfast to be delicious and varied. The dinner at the bar was nice but maybe slightly overpriced chewy steak. Staff again were great. The spa and the massages we received were top tier and well worth the visit. Incredibly relaxing and knowledgeable. Would return just for this. The hideout suite was brilliant and had so much to make it an excellent experience. Massive bedroom, lounge and the star of the show the giant hot tub and double shower. The pantry was generous and needed. If you're exploring Bath, location is ideal. Highly recommended as it's not trying to be pretentious as some hotels in Bath come across as, but provides a top quality stay.

Where do I even begin?! This sweet little hotel was such a dream from start to finish! The decor and attention to detail was beautiful. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff very friendly. We also reserved luggage pickup at train station and Christian was very sweet to come and pick up our luggage for us. The unlimited pantry had some of the best ice cream! Wonderful water pressure in showers and great hot temperatures. The beds were firm and comfy and the linens soft and high thread count. We would definitely stay again in the future! Thank you No.15 Bath!

I stayed there for a night in early July and my trip couldn’t have gone better. I am from the US and had been traveling for two weeks in the UK before spending the night here so I have a lot to go on. They told us that our room would be ready by 3pm but we arrived in town early and asked if we could leave our bags while we looked around. They said yes and when we checked into our room there they were! (They even offer pick up from the station which we didn’t use but maybe next time). When we went up to our room it was well cooled (we take AC for granted in the US), clean, and there had been classical music left on (at a low volume) for our arrival which I thought was a nice touch. They offer free tea and water, plus a pantry full of sweet treats and crisps, to which we helped ourselves to some ice cream. We booked the smallest room since we were only there for a day, but the bed was good sized for two and honestly there was enough space since we didn’t have a check-bag, just backpacks. We didn’t try the dinner or bar since we fell asleep the minute our heads hit the bed, but we did have breakfast the next morning and it was some of the best food I have had in the UK and The Best waffles I have ever had in my life (raspberry with honey one). One thing to note about the rooms, since it was an older infrastructure, some of the wood was squeaky and since we had a room that had an adjourning room, you might be able to hear other people if you get stuck next to loud people, but we didn’t have that issue and it wasn’t like you could hear them word for word. We also booked a spa treatment with them, the lessen your stress one, which comes with a massage and a facial, and while I don’t get them often so I may not be the best judge, it was very good. They asked where they should focus and it was relaxing. I have sensitive skin for acne and the facial didn’t break me out at all. They even gave us some of the oil used which makes a nice little souvenir since it’s under the liquid requirements. Then when checking out all went smooth, I payed beforehand, and we were able to leave our bags there while checking out the city before catching a train elsewhere. Ultimately it was a perfect trip and I couldn’t have asked for more. I will definitely be staying there again and would even check out the other hotels under the brand due to my experience here!

Really lovely boutique hotel and in fabulous location. Rooms were beautiful, with lovely touches like the record player. Bed very comfortable. Note there is not air conditioning in the hotel if you are going in the summer. Everyone was very welcoming, there are snacks carts you can help yourself from, and the breakfast was fantastic.

If you only stay in one place in Bath… make it here. No.15 has the charm of a boutique hotel with the warmth of a family-run guesthouse. Cute, well-designed rooms, genuinely friendly staff, and a perfect walking location for exploring the city. The Worth It Moment: That magical breakfast. I had three different breakfasts in one morning because everything looked too good to pass up — and then discovered the communal pantry filled with help-yourself snacks. It feels indulgent and homely all at once. Verdict: 5/5 — Come for the location, stay for the breakfast and snacks.

I visited the spa for a treatment and it was absolutely delightful. I felt so relaxed afterwards! I had a scrub, massage and facial and have left feeling like I am floating on air.

Great location in town but in a quiet location. A free pantry of homemade shortbread, crisps, and ice cream to help yourself too. Rooms with a quirky style but that's nice as it feels like your in a special place. Shower great.

The Manor House is a luxurious 14th-century country manor turned into a 48-room hotel, offering refined dining and an 18-hole golf course. Nestled in 365 acres of secluded parkland near Bath, this elegant retreat features landscaped gardens, Michelin-starred dining at the Bybrook Restaurant, and a charming pub called The Castle Inn. Guests can choose to stay in the grand main house or the cozy mews cottages along the old village street.
Had the best time celebrating a family wedding. It's a really stunning location. The rooms are all spacious and beautifully decorated with feature beds or bathrooms, making each room different and special. The food was excellent, but you may need to remortgage to cover the drinks!

This was our fourth visit to the Manor House and, as with previous visits, we enjoyed a fabulous stay. Every aspect of our visit — from the service and accommodation to the grounds and food offering — was wonderful. The service is both professional and welcoming, particularly in the restaurant, where our waiter and sommelier talked us through the tasting menu while also giving us space to enjoy the delicious food and wine pairings. We particularly enjoyed the peacefulness of the Italian garden, which provided a serene contrast to the bustle of Castle Combe — a real tourist trap in the summer. We love visiting, as it offers an escape from our busy lives, and we look forward to returning very soon.

Idyllic location and hotel. Stayed in the Heritage Mews part. Had a delicious dinner at The Castle Inn. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. They did everything possible, even remembering our spot which they set up for breakfast. I'd definitely go back in a heartbeat

Completely disappointed. We ended up changing 3 rooms. The first one was completely dirty and one of the devices for ordering stuff was not working. The second one had an electrical fault which kept blowing the fuse. We ended up in a third equally dirty with the first one which was completely different from what they advertise online. It did remind me actually of a premier in room. Completely waste of money. It was a treat for my birthday but they ended up ruining the day. The Thornbury Castle offers a much better experience and is spotless with excellent customer service.

We stayed in one of the cottages for two nights. At first, this place was lovely. It’s a beautiful area and the house is stunning from the outside. However, I wouldn’t stay here again. The food isn’t great at the main house or at their pub in town. It also takes forever for food to arrive. The Inn in town took 45 minutes to make our food (we were the first to arrive and to order). We had to run to a wedding and they don’t provide takeout boxes. So we wrapped our food in napkins. The breakfast at the house requires a reservation to eat. The food also takes forever and is extremely sub par. We ordered coffees and it took 20 mins to arrive. For such an expensive and fancy location, we were expecting a bit more than we received. We had previously stayed in Edinburgh at a less nice hotel that was more accommodating and timely. Our shower wasn’t working and we told the front desk who said “oh we don’t know unless someone tells us.” Which worries me a bit - shouldn’t you check the amenities at a 4 star hotel in each room? Finally, we had turn down service while leaving for the day. Upon returning, none of the trash was taken out. We had left empty water bottles for them to take, none were taken. The bed was made and that seemed to be the only thing that was done. Again, for such an expensive location I would expect trash, towels, and recycling taken. This was such a disappointing stay. Do not stay here. Find another spot in town and come visit for an hour.

Just returned from my couple of days visit to The Manor House and wow, it certainly did not disappoint! The village itself is like stepping into a painting – so picturesque it was almost surreal. The Hotel had that same feel. Set within stunning grounds, the hotel is magnificent. My room was spacious, comfortable and bursting with character. And the bathroom…particularly impressive. What really made it special though, was the team. From the moment I checked in, everyone from reception to the F&B staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The food was good, no complaints there at all. It was a serene experience for me and I was able to switch off and relax, which was the main objective of this trip. I look forward to returning there.

Had the Lazy Sunday package with dinner in the Bybrooke restaurant for my husband's birthday. We had a lovely time. The bed was so comfortable and I had the best night's sleep ever. The room, the grounds, and the staff were all wonderful. The sommelier made a great wine recommendation for our dinner. The food (especially the bread) was out of this world and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Noticed they do Sunday lunch, and as we are only 25 minutes away, we will be back.

We went to castle combe to take a picture of my friends daughter, we only deove one hour to get there because of the hotel, which is amazing. But unsfortunetly there was a rude staff in there who wasn’t able to even listening us. She said we couldn’t take pictures there because is a private land which i completely understand, but we were trying to speak with her and she was so rude that didn’t allowed us to finish the sentence, we wanted to pay the fee to take the photos but impossible to communicate with her. Shouting at us and just demanding that we leave. Horrible service. We took the road again and went to Lacock Abbey that was fabulous and great service.

Stayed here angain and had an awesome experience. The staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome from the start. The room was spotless and super comfy—exactly what we needed after a long day out. Great value for the price, especially considering the location. Traveled with friends and we all agreed we’d definitely come back!

We had an overnight stay as a family, and had a family room (huge king bed, plus a single sofabed) and breakfast. Firstly, the room was a decent size. We didn't have loads of luggage but we did some shopping and still had space. It was super cold when we arrived - air conditioning working too well! - and housekeeping sorted some extra blankets very quickly, which was great. Didn't try the shower - we went to the local baths instead - but everything seemed good. The beds were lovely and comfortable, even the sofa bed! Reception was helpful and friendly. Matteo at breakfast was a great personality - a warm welcome, brisk and entertaining guide to breakfast, and makes the place feel extra special! Parking isn't reserved, there's a public car park literally under the hotel but it was full when we arrived (rugby match on nearby) so we parked on the street for a couple of hours (use the MiPermit app to pay), then moved to the car park. Location is fantastic. Minutes walk to the town centre, supermarket on your doorstep, ten minutes to the famous Roman baths. A great stay and decent value for Bath.

We had a lovely 4 night stay here and we felt at home right from the start. Nice spacious room clean and well maintained. The bed and the sofa bed were both very comfortable. We had a lovely view of pultney river. Nothing was too much for any of the staff. Matteo at breakfast is a great asset to the hotel. He is so welcoming and nothing is too much for him.

The hotel is located in the centre of Bath, close to many shops, food and historical building/sites, all within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff with speed check-in process. Room is a little small and basic facility but clean and comfortable. Parking is a bit hard, all paid parking around, but there is a public parking lot next to the hotel where you can park overnight 8pm to 8am for a small fees. The fridge didn't work and the sink was blocked...... I think the hotel needs a bit of TLC. Bath is a beautiful little town!

Used this severally. Nothing to fault… delivers the exceptional standards expected. Great location also - in the heart of the city - walkable distance to key spots. Podium car park (in the same premises, though privately run separate from the hotel) is another good reason to stay here. Convenient and great value overall.

Diamond member, had a modest upgrade to a king room with sofa bed. Fantastic property, clean room and great service by all staff. Breakfast was better than standard doubletree properties in the UK. I was worried given reviews on cleanliness, but was pleasantly surprised how well appointed the room was. Best Doubletree property I’ve stayed within the UK.

A truly luxurious hotel in the perfect spot! The pillows felt like sleeping on clouds, and our room was bright, spacious, and offered a stunning view of the River Avon. We were greeted with a delicious complimentary cookie at check-in, which was such a thoughtful touch. A special mention to Ron at the front desk, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. As it was our first time in Bath, he took the time to give us a map and point out places of interest—such a lovely gesture, thank you 😊 The location couldn’t be better, with the Abbey and Roman Baths just a short stroll away, plus plenty of shops and restaurants right on the high street nearby. Parking is available in the “Podium” car park for £18 per 24 hours, and being directly beneath the hotel makes it really convenient.

We were attending an event being held at the hotel so had booked an overnight stay. The location is great, close to everything in Bath and there is parking next door. Our room was lovely (coffee (pod) maker, kettle, fridge, iron and ironing board, hair dryer etc. The staff were friendly and served us as quickly as they could but without rushing us. The breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is just amazing . It is very quaint and in a very central location to walk to most places in Bath . We had room “ 007” which was on the lower floor . It was quiet , clean and had a comfortable bed . The bathroom was modern with nice toiletries . We had no view from the windows , but we didn’t mind that as we only wanted a bed for the night . The staff are super helpful and friendly and accommodating . The front desk lady named Maria was lovely and kind and allowed me to check into our room early , as I had my Down Syndrome brother staying with me and we needed to get settled into the room and rest before heading out to eat. I also needed a paper bill which she kindly printed off for me with no problem at all . I would give this hotel 10/10 for location and helpfulness of staff . Thank you for making our stay memorable .

Absolutely wonderful staff and in a perfect location. The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the bartenders were great in the evening. Loved the patio area! One important caveat for this property: some of the rooms have no lift access and require climbing multiple flights of stairs. Just a forewarning!

This hotel was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean, and restaurant connected to hotel had good food. Perfect location. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and prime location close to plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. No complaints at all. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend! 😀

Excellent Stay at The Abbey Hotel, Bath We had an excellent stay at The Abbey Hotel in Bath! The location couldn’t be better—just steps away from Pulteney Bridge, Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, and the Thermae Spa. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, with a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was spotless, and the attention to detail really stood out. The staff were friendly, professional, and always happy to help, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. To top it all off, we received a complimentary room upgrade for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our visit even more special. We highly recommend The Abbey Hotel and would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for two nights while visiting Bath. The location of the hotel is great but that’s the only good thing I will say. The rooms are small and the whole building needs a lot of maintenance and refurbishing. The interior is weird. You take the elevator to go to second floor however you again take stairs to go down half floor to access your room. There is no flat floor inside therefore if you have heavy luggage be ready to go up and down on stairs. The service in the restaurant where we had breakfast was good but the food was simple. The service of the front desk needs development.

They have improved this place and their service alot in the past couple of years. The location is really unbeatable. I opted for the included breakfast, and it was great everyday that I was there. Good menu, good service. I am celiac (gluten free) and had no problem getting a safe delicious breakfast. They gave me a nice room on the top floor which had a view of the square. Good for one person on a short trip. It had a very small closet so would have been harder if there were 2 people for more than a couple of days depending on how heavy you travel. I would go back!
Tad R — Google review
Big disappointment. The staff was rude at check-in. The room we were assigned wasn’t clean. The room we were moved to was clean-ish (could use some dusting) but outdated. The tile in the bathroom is cracked and moves when you walk. The sheets are very rough (think summer camp), the paint is chipped in multiple places and the room doesn’t have a/c that gets things actually cool. Overall, the hotel is badly in need of a refresh. And this is compounded by rude and inattentive staff. I wish we weren’t here for two nights; it isn’t comfortable and I wish I wasn’t giving them my money.
Allison G — Google review
We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again because you cant find a better location. The building is 300 years old so can expect some issues. Our AC was broken the first night which they promptly fixed, then the second evening our shower flooded and we urgently had to move all of our things and sleepy toddler to another room. They did comp our breakfast for the inconvenience and were very nice, just kind of frustrating. The breakfast was really good and would recommend. Again, I'd stay here again I think we just had a lousy stay

Guests can enjoy picturesque views from the terrace and garden while taking advantage of amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi and parking.
We used Stanton House to host a 60th Birthday afternoon tea with 60 Guests . In the planning stages, and all our visits to the venue, the staff were so helpful and communicated promptly and clearly when we had any questions. The venue were very accommodating, happy for us to personalise the event with decorations and allow us to use more accessible entrances for elderly guests. The day went very well, in this beautiful venue, and we were so impressed with the attention to detail, and willingness to make changes to the food servings to support some allergy needs, some of which were communicated just before to the event. Many of our guests commented that this was a great venue, and the staff on duty were efficient, approachable, and chatty. Overall a very good experience for start to finish. Many Thanks to the team as Stanton House.

Booked a hotel through Wowcher. The location and the hotel was beautiful calm and just relaxing. Had the dinner with them which was really good and tasty. The best thing is the chicken they offer in menu for dinner or lunch is halal which was brilliant. You should still check before ordering. Few downsides were the amenities were quiet less in room specially they charge for a Dental kit. No room slippers. But apart from that it was really good stay. Loved the stay.

Pleasant Stay with a Few Room Comfort Issues My wife and I booked a couple of days at Stanton House Hotel for a peaceful and quiet break, and overall, we had a lovely stay. We opted for a Superior Room, though to be honest, the main difference from a standard double seemed to be that the bed and room were slightly larger. While the room was clean, it didn’t quite live up to the “superior” label. It was very warm, even with the heating off, due to hot water pipes running through the radiators. The furniture felt a bit tired—one chair had a loose leg, and the carpet was lifting at a join. The mini fridge worked, but it had clearly seen better days: it was a little dirty, and the door seal was broken. The room itself felt a bit drab—a few touches like artwork or even a plant (fake or real) could go a long way in making it more inviting. The bathroom was quite cramped. The bath looked old, the taps were stiff and coming loose, and the toilet was awkwardly placed in a small cubby near the door. It actually moved when you sat on it, and there was barely space to use it comfortably. That said, the hotel grounds and scenery were beautiful. We had a stunning view from our room window, which made a big difference to our stay. The restaurant service was excellent—friendly and professional—and the food was great, especially breakfast, which was freshly cooked and of very good quality. Definitely one of the highlights. Overall, we enjoyed our time, but the room could use a bit of TLC to bring it up to the “superior” standard expected.
K C — Google review
Lovely location but once you walk into the hotel there is an overpowering smell of synthetic air freshener. The plastic flowers everywhere also add to the synthetic feel. We had the smallest room, no space for a suitcase. The room was so full of air freshener that it made my eyes water, even opening the windows couldn't eradicate the noxious haze. All the bedroom doors had alarms, so during the night the sound of alarms as people entered their rooms, kept us awake. The ladies loos were in a terrible state due to not being cleaned after the wedding the night before. This hotel could be fantastic but sadly at the moment it falls short.

Nestled in the picturesque Wiltshire countryside, Blunsdon House Hotel Leisure and Beauty Club offers a serene escape with its expansive 30-acre grounds. This polished hotel features spacious accommodations equipped with private balconies or patios, modern amenities like a 32-inch satellite TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can indulge in delightful dining experiences at two on-site restaurants or unwind at one of the three bars.
We stayed here for a night in April 2025. Reception were nice and friendly, room was reasonable and fairly spacious and the bathroom was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal and drinks. Garden area was nice to sit in, but that afternoon/evening it was very windy so we opted to go back inside. Restaurant/bar area is pretty large with an entertainment room for children. Breakfast was held in another dining area, breakfast was buffet style and is typical of English breakfast offerings of hot food, continental breakfast and cereals and fruit etc. The only negative was the mattress as we could feel the springs in the mattress, we are very fussy with our mattress as husband works in the trade. But this mattress in particular the springs weren’t great, we did feed this back and received and apology. Hopefully they’ve looked at sprung mattresses and have upgraded what needed to be upgraded. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would go back

I was really looking forward to my stay, but unfortunately, it ended up being quite disappointing. From the moment I arrived, the staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. There was a general lack of hospitality that you wouldn’t expect from a hotel. The bar staff, in particular, stood out for all the wrong reasons. They acted like they didn’t want to be there and gave off the impression that serving guests was more of a chore than part of their job. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that made it hard to relax or enjoy a drink. Overall, the lack of warmth and professionalism from the staff really let the whole experience down. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to others based on this visit.

We have been returning to Blunsdon for approaching 35 years with different generations of our family, since I was 10 years old. Back once again with our three kids and we have had a great time as always. Good food, that caters well for coeliac, a lovely hotel, lots of swimming and tennis and nice to have a hotel that can accommodate rooms for a family of 5. Thanks once again

This hotel was chosen as was close to my destination but also the facilities were conducive to my preferences. There is a pool and gym to be used but charged extra. The breakfast is an extra £10 if not in the rate. You can get that at reception but do it before they charge you £15 in the restaurant.

Afternoon Tea was fantastic at this place, but service was very poor. Had a reservation for 12, arrived less than 10 minutes late and the waitress abruptly looked at her watch. She then sat us down, asked what drinks we wanted and then came back with a card machine before the drinks arrived and said “sorry can you pay now”. Phoned up the hotel explaining that it made us feel unwelcome and was given nearly every excuse of why it happened. I had a reservation for this giving my details and offered payment over the phone as it was a very special occasion! Process should have been to take payment at the bar before sitting us down and wasn’t followed. Really has given me a negative view of the hotel

An excellent base for visiting the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas. The hotel is traditional in style but fits perfectly for Wiltshire. We were visiting family and it was perfect for the grandchildren at the hotel - very relaxed and great for the kids. The hotel is immaculately clean and all the staff were friendly and professional. A great stay and would definitely return.

My family & I had a wonderful stay in Blunsdon House Hotel. We were initially booked to stay at another hotel but we were let down by a third-party agent, therefore, did not have a place to stay for the weekend. However, George from the Concierge/Reception was extremely helpful and kind. The amenities and area was lovely, we had a wonderful stay. The amenities within the hotel were great.

Had to meet some friends who were staying at the hotel and went there for a light bite. Thought £12 for a salmon sandwich with a small side salad and crisps was a bit over the top I must admit. Also plates left on table for an hour before I had to ask someone to remove them. Not the waitress fault, just the training theyve been given I would have thought.

What a beautiful lodge and the two en-suite bathrooms were simply stunning. Rooms were all clean and tidy. Close to Bath and used the local park and ride so we didn’t have to worry about parking. Only downside was that we couldn’t cast to the tv or use or Amazon fire stick, but I believe the tvs are being upgraded- which will be a big plus. Would recommend staying here and would definitely come back when visiting Bath and Bristol.

I arrived earlier than planned with a fault on my car. The staff were incredibly helpful in helping me to find a garage, supporting us with an early access to our lodge and assisting us to transfer our baggage. Staff also provided local information to assist with our stay. The location is amazing and beautiful. An easy drive to the very cheap park and ride into the city. The only fault I could find was with the menu, all vegetarian options were spicy and the main course option was out of stock. We stayed in a studio lodge it had excellent WiFi and phone signal and was the perfect size for two. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

The location was beautiful. The grounds were well kept. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was lovely. The accommodation let it down terribly. On arrival there was an overwhelming smell of bleach in Newton Elegance Lodge, no. 29, and I did wonder if it was masking something nasty. We unpacked and got settled in. The Lodge was very tired, damaged in several places and not very clean. It is in dire need of refurbishing or replacing. The overwhelming smell of drains soon reared its ugly head in one of the Bedrooms so we decamped to the other Bedroom as the smell was making us nauseous. We kept the door firmly shut on the bedroom so the rest of the lodge wouldn’t smell of drains. We reported the issue to Reception and drain cleaner was used in the drains but the smell returned after a few hours. I did not complain again as I wanted to enjoy my Holiday and not spend time going back and forth to reception to report the issue again. Sadly I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it due to the state and smell of the lodge.

we had a very enjoyable week at Bath Mill Lodge in Lodge 36. The position is excellent for touring the are and we had trips to Bristol, Salsibury, Stonehedge and even as far as Oxford. It is really well placed for the park and rides for Bath & Bristol. Food on site was good and the resort is well maintained with friendly staff. Would recommend.

Returned from a 4 night stay in Pembley. Very nice surroundings, very peaceful. Cabin was really nice with very comfortable beds. Can’t fault anything apart from the oven didn’t work that well. Great place to base yourself for the surrounding area of Bath. Would definitely return

Stayed at the lodges for a family holiday. Excellent location to bath takes about 15 minutes to get to the centre. Lodges have plenty of space but there are a couple of things we found these lodges not very clean and ours was dusty, the one we stayed in was a little tired on places. They are self catering but they only give you one bin bag, a small washing up liquid, two dishwasher tablets and two toilet rolls. The bin was full pretty quick and the dishwasher tablets didn't last it's just most places I've been to give you enough for a week.No kitchen towel or surface spray so would suggest you need to bring your own bits. What alot of google reviewers have not mentioned is that the train line runs nearby and can be heard till about 10pm at night and then we kept hearing them at 4am in the morning. Also it's on a flight path so I was hearing a lot of planes either taking off or landing in combination with the trains. It was peaceful when the train and planes are not in action it was actually nice to hear the birds and the nearby stream that ran past all the lodges. It was good for the price paid but be aware of these things

Static caravans doubled up to make a cozy lodge. Looks quite modern and set in nicely manicured grounds. Relatively spacious inside with a good sized dining lounge area. Bar and restaurant were on site and a practical gym. 30 to 40 minutes walk to Bath city centre but a 10min walk to the bus stop. Easy to set satnav up to get you there, and doesn't really involve travelling through the busy city centre. Lodges are really warm if you book a winter vacation. I'd book again if i needed to stay local to Bath.

Nestled just a short distance from the vibrant heart of Bath, Bailbrook House Hotel is a stunning Georgian mansion that offers an enchanting escape into history and luxury. Set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this Grade II listed hotel boasts breathtaking views over the city and its picturesque countryside. Originally built in the early 1790s as a private residence, it exudes timeless elegance with its charming architecture and sophisticated interiors.
I stayed at Bailbrook House along with 80 or so fellow weddings guests at a family wedding. The Bailbrook team are excellent. They couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. We all felt that they were genuinely interested in the wedding, and in our extended family. I'm an extensive traveller for business and pleasure and that level of care is not usual. We cannot thank the team more. The beds were comfy and there was a good range of breakfast items. We enjoyed a pre-wedding party barbeque one evening which was delicious and catered to various dietary needs. The hotel is located in beautiful grounds, fifteen minutes from the city centre.

Warm welcome, very helpful, great breakfast. Like others have said, it could do with a little TLC, but the staff more than make up for the decor. Clean and great value for Bath. We left a wallet behind, the housekeeps had handed it to the manager before we even knew it was lost. Thanks so much, we really appreciated you all.

Nice experience, great setting in beautiful countryside. Lots of businesses use the hotel for meetings etc. Nothing was to much trouble for the Hotel staff which was appreciated. The only drawback which is not of the hotels making is the building is set at the top of a huge bank which is not conjusive for easy access if you are walking.

Beautiful building, stunning grounds, fantastic staff, apart from one bar tender that was not a people person, he did not want to be there, brilliant! Wedding service was lovely, food was posh. Room felt stuffy, however that's the overall aesthetics.

Exceptional service, beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms a little dated but very clean and spacious. I really can’t emphasis enough how fabulous the service was at Bailbrook House. Gems on reception was so warm, friendly, and attentive and all of the staff from those at breakfast to the gentlemen who brought us room service on multiple occasions were just fantastic. We visited as part of a larger group for a birthday party nearby and nothing was too much trouble. The staff even found some cufflinks for one of the guests who had forgotten his! Breakfast was great, as was the room service and cocktails. Such a reasonable price too at £220 for 2 nights during a busy weekend. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back, and are considering visiting other hotels within the Handpicked chain because of how good this experience was!

Milford Hall Hotel is a charming 19th-century mansion that has been sympathetically extended to combine traditional English hospitality with modern facilities. Located in the heart of Salisbury, it offers classic and period-style rooms, as well as a seafood/steak restaurant. The hotel's proximity to the shopping area and cathedral makes it an ideal base for exploring the ancient city. Additionally, guests can easily visit nearby attractions such as Stonehenge.
We dropped in for tea on a day outing to Salisbury, we were met with a warm greeting and invited to a table on the new terrace with sumptuous new furniture. Victoria took our order, she was helpful and suggested she asked chef for a selection of cakes. The tea was hot and delicious served in a generous pot, black coffee strong and rich. We lingered in the sunshine and Victoria checked we had everything we needed. So attentive and friendly. A most enjoyable afternoon, thank you.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of great. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, making us feel welcome and valued right away. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The room itself was clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens fresh and soft. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast – absolutely delicious! and of course the coffee was excellent. We can’t wait to return and will absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in the area, especially the top-service of all stuff. Thank you to the entire team for making our 1 night trip unforgettable!

Lauren the young lady on reception was absolutely amazing she helped me out with a situation that I had with a pleasant smile and warming presence. It was so nice to have someone greet you so kindly on arrival and to be so helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the restaurant is really nice too. A really nice place to stay

I genuinely loved this hotel. The bed was comfier than a cloud, and the pillows were so heavenly I contemplated smuggling one. The ladies at breakfast were attentive, and the food options were plentiful. My only gripe is they charged me £7 for parking.
Heather L — Google review
Milford Hall is a 20 minute walk from the train station, but only a few minutes from a bus stop bearing its name. Its a 10 minute walk to the shopping area, and about 20 to the cathedral and fabulous museum. My luggage was stored for me after I turned up earlier than expected, and the reception area appeared very clean and well maintained. When I checked in later that afternoon I did have to step over a contractor in the hallway - there is renovation work being done - but it was a short walk and a small staircase up to my room, which was nicely decorated and clean. I had a good nights sleep - after the hotel guests who sound like a herd of elephants shouting at a football match in the corridor, I swear they follow me around - also shut up and went to sleep! Breakfast was small but perfectly formed, with a lovely welcome and very nice, good quality food. I judge a buffet breakfast by its scrambled egg, which is often watery or rubbery, but it was perfect! There was a bit of harsh construction noise outside just before I checked out - a jack hammer breaking up concrete outside of my window - it was unpleasant but not early enough in the morning to disturb my sleep. All in all, especially given the reasonable cost, I would stay here again, once the renovation works are done there wouldnt be much else negative to say. Nothing hotels can do about thoughtless guests! In fact I have already recommended it to a friend.

Great location with parking included, only a 10min stroll to the main square. Hotel staff are super friendly and efficient and the hotel decor gives a trendy boutique feel. Really enjoyed our stay

Went here for afternoon tea. Staff were lovely and friendly and it looked lovely inside. The afternoon tea was nice enough, however, at £24 per person, we had 4 sandwiches between 2 people. The bread was dry, like it had been prepared first thing and then left to the side ready for when needed. Filings were ok but sadly lacked in flavour. Good selection of mini desserts, although, when you cut them in half in order to taste a bit of everything, most of them disintegrated! The scones were lovely with a small pot of jam each and a small dish of clotted which was enough for two. So in total, paid £48 for the 4 finger sandwiches, 6 mini desserts, 2 scones and a coffee and a tea. It would be interesting to see what a solo diner would get!

Lovely location in the English countryside. Very nice staff and great spa. Our room (23) definitely needs improvement/renovation and a deep clean of the bathroom (scale). We were disappointed with the room given the price range. An overall nice experience but we feel the hotel management needs to improve attention to detail.

From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay felt luxurious. The spa was a true highlight, beautifully designed and calming. The food was exceptional, especially the chicken dish on the evening menu, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a great selection and high-quality ingredients. The service was faultless, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. We left feeling completely relaxed and well looked after. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a high-end, restorative getaway.

Staff were really lovely, and we felt very well looked after. Little things like setting the breakfast table with a special plate for our toddler were really appreciated. Pool was lovely and warm. Nice decor and very comfy food. We enjoyed all the food. Perfect for relaxing after a busy day at Longleat. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. We thought it delivered excellent value for the price.

A lovely relaxing time. Spa and staff very accommodating. Caitlin gave a very good back and facial massage. Would recommend asking for her. Indoor pool area looking a little tired but still enjoyed the warmth of the pool. A little bit of work going on around the hotel, so hopefully a touch up in the pool area. Would go back again.

We will definitely be back when we visit family again.

We had a fantastic time during our stay. All the staff members were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and go above and beyond. The breakfast was great and plentiful. The thermal area was very nice, the outdoor pool was a bit too warm when we were there. It did get quite busy in the outdoor area and pool which meant it wasn’t super relaxing but we didn’t mind. The room was a good size and comfortable. Also family friendly which was a bonus!

Nestled amidst the rolling hills and picturesque countryside, The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf & Leisure Resort offers a delightful escape for travelers seeking both relaxation and recreation. This modern hotel boasts simple yet spacious accommodations equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi and televisions. Guests can indulge in leisure activities at the on-site facilities, which include an impressive 27-hole golf course, a rejuvenating spa, and an inviting 18-meter indoor swimming pool.
The hotel is in need of TLC. The room was spacious if basic. The spa area could be amazing but there are broken tiles around the pool and the changing room is not particularly pleasant. The restaurant is pretty good if somewhat limited. Nice breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This could be something really special with some investment.

Took 13 golfers on a society weekend sept 2025. What a disaster! Greens atrocious, pitted, crow bitten, would have been better putting on bubble wrap! Fairways with 2 inch wide drainage slits that should have been sanded and seeded. Lost balls in them! Tees were mud. Hotel staff don't care, asked us to collect our own glasses on trays to bring back to the bar. No lunch available not even a sandwich! They only had 20 customers in the place! Fire exits locked and fitted with non-conforming exit devices. DO NOT GO THERE IT IS A DISGRACE AND A RIP-OFF.

Really loved the bed bugs. Absolutely made our one night (thankfully only 1 night) stay. Dirty run down place. Told reception about how we were bitten. Brushed it off and said no one else had complained. Avoid this dump. Safe to say we won't be back there

I played golf at the Wiltshire last weekend and it was probably the worst condition I have seen ever on a golf course Tee boxes just a mess and often with no grass Greens - appalling - many holes in the greens Fairways -awful and often with great excavation work done that you cannot see until too late.. Really nothing to be positive about AVOID Staff all very friendly and helpful but ...

I recently had a really disappointing stay at this hotel, and I feel it's important to share my experience. Right from the first night, I was bitten up by mosquitoes, and when I asked to switch rooms, I was told it wasn't possible. That was a tough start. To make matters worse, the breakfast was a huge letdown. The jam I tried had mold on it and was way past its expiration date—definitely not something you want to see first thing in the morning. Overall, I couldn't find anything to enjoy during my stay. I really can't recommend this hotel, and I won't be coming back in the future.
Jake M — Google review
Avoid at all costs. Stayed here a couple weeks ago, food was diabolical and very poor service. Hotel room was probably one of the worst I’ve stayed in, the TV didn’t work, shower leaked, and worst of all was infested with flies/mosquitos upon arrival. Picture attached of them as well as bites. After new “management” the hotel as gone down hill, there’s a reason all the higher ratings were from 2 or more years ago.
H S — Google review
Worth a visit to see how an unloved hotel can look. Room was ok. Clean bedding. Hotel itself was very poorly maintained and had seen better days. Changing rooms men’s were awful & smelt of damp. Only 2 showers working. Fire alarm woke us at 5.30 am & went off after a minute or so. I could see this place being very nice in the 90’s, doesn’t appear to have been touched since.

A tranquil idyll with good quality fayre. Good sized rooms and friendly staff The food was supported by local sourcing where possible and seasonal product. This is not my first visit but yet again an amazing dinner of double baked souffle then a challenge ..... choice ... red mullet or pork shoulder. The red mullet won due to accompaniments of new season Jersey royals and asparagus spears. Had booked to return in a few days but sadly the client has cancelled so have had to cancel

A real hidden gem. Whilst this small, quaint hotel is somewhat dated in its decor it more than makes up for this with excellent, friendly staff, excellent cuisine and a lovely quiet setting. We booked their dinner, bed and breakfast deal which was excellent value. Including a three course evening meal. The food was simply superb. We’ve eaten in many lovely restaurants around the globe but I have to say the food here was as good as anything we’ve experienced. The home made Gravadlax starter was delicious. Sitting outside on the patio having an early evening drink was so relaxing. Highly recommended if you can see past the ageing decor, which actually has a charm of its own.

Absolutely loved our stay at this cute and beautifully decorated hotel! The attention to detail in the decor made it feel cozy and charming, and the hosts were very kind and attentive throughout our visit. The breakfast was a real highlight- delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. We also really appreciated the air conditioning, which was a lifesaver during the hot summer days. Highly recommend for a comfortable and memorable stay! Super close walk to the train station too if you are using public transportation to get around.

I wish I could do ten stars instead of just five! We had a wonderful stay at the Caboose.....the staff (Lauren, James and Valeria) were wonderful and super friendly with good advice about the area. The location was close to the train station, easy walking to the city center, market, parks and cathedral. Rooms were comfortable and clean, shower was excellent. It was surprisingly quiet for being right next to the train tracks although they did supply ear plugs for light sleepers. There was ice water, and coffee/tea supplies in the room. Delicious breakfast cooked to order in the mornings....the fresh croissants were some of the best I've ever had. The only slight minus was the lack of an elevator which might be an issue for those with mobility problems.....not a problem for us, but I mention it so you won't be surprised. The staff offered to carry our luggage up and down the stairs which was so sweet. I would wholeheartedly stay here again! Thank you for a great experience in Salisbury.

Just a short walk from the train station, and I felt perfectly safe even late at night on my own. The staff were super friendly and helpful — they managed to sort me a room last minute around midnight. Also, the breakfast was wonderful.
Nihan G — Google review
As soon as I walked in, I extended my stay for an extra night Why? The first impression blew me away. The ambience and pleasant attitude of (Valaria?) was exactly what one expects from a service related industry, but is hard to find these days It’s a couple of blocks from the train station where you can get a bus to Stonehenge and Old Sarum and it’s walking distance to the center of town and the cathedral. I have traveled around the world and stayed in everything from hostels to five star hotels to cruise ship suites Everything about this little bed-and-breakfast is top-notch From the decoration, to the service to the comfortable accommodation Oh, and the breakfast is free, plentiful, and spectacular You would pay at least 20 to 30 for the breakfast alone if you could get that quality The owners go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are 100% comfortable It may be rated three star, but it performs as five star in every category. So, don’t hesitate to book accommodation here Its spectacular!

We had a good night out in Salisbury @sips and @Anokaa. Bed was comfy once I sorted my pillow out. Shower really nice and has body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Lovely big towels. Breakfast was yum. Full English. Also pastry granola fruit toast etc. all included. Definitely will come again. Thank you 😊

We had a lovely stay at Caboose and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. James went above and beyond to make our one night a great experience - allowing us to leave our luggage when we arrived early on a train and even notifying us when our room was ready so we could get in a bit early - this was very much appreciated. When we had to be back at the train station a few minutes after breakfast started - we asked for a recommendation of where we could grab a quick bite knowing we wouldn’t make the provided breakfast and James and his team very kindly prepared us a to-go box and breakfast sandwich to take with us. None of these things were expected, but we greatly appreciated the kindness we were shown and can see the passion in the business. Thanks again James for making us feel so welcome :)

The Gallery Cafe is a beautifully decorated and art-centric cafe in Salisbury, England. The food is top notch, and the staff are extremely knowledgable about the local art scene. It's the perfect place to get gifts for loved ones or yourself, or to simply explore the artsy atmosphere.
This is not only a beautiful gift shop and artisan studios, it is also the best cafe in Salisbury. The food and coffee are amazing, and the service is great. Just the building itself is worth a look. The small studio shops upstairs are wonderful too.

Updating my review based on the response provided by the cafe. It is indeed possible that I have visited at not the best time, which led to my observation on limited food options. I was looking for quick sandwiches, something hot and savoury, hot quick bite, which I could not find at the time I visited. So I picked up a granola bar on way to Stonehenge while waiting for the bus. I'm sure this is a lovely cafe and I look forward to visiting again at a better time to experience it.
