Amazing sandwiches. Prosciutto mozzarella and tomato. spicy ventricina salami baked ricotta grilled peppers mixed salad chili pate spread and two small beers. Bread had sesame seeds. YUM! Place was packed and wildly efficient and service fast. We ended up going inside after lunch and buying more food, bread and goods to go.

This was our absolute favourite place!! We made this part of our morning routine - we would run in the morning and then end with a coffee and we had two different GO TO meals. Burrata with the zucchini and quince jam! This with the mortadella was insane flavours. We also tried the salad croissants which is where you can choose the same filling as the sandwiches but in the croissants. We also took sandwiches down to the beach one day- we were told that the sandwich bar next door was average and this could be true even though we didn’t try next door! Great staff - a serious institution!!

A taste of childhood found in Ortigia street market - wild strawberries🍓 Overall a large selection of fresh seafood, herbs,spices,fruits and (not) typical vegetables,even a stand with old books about Syracuse. Good prices for nuts per kilo (pistachios) as well as Italian cookies of good quality. I had the best fresh juice from Sicilian oranges(arancia rossa). Worth a visit if you are in the area, everyone will find something for themselves!

We visited the bustling market on a Saturday morning in May. Next to fresh produce and catch of the day, street food and tourist shops have sprung up plentiful. We shopped ingredients for a dinner for 12, all ingredients appeared fresh and high quality. Prices for sea food are negotiable for considerable discounts at reasonable rates. One of my favorite experiences in Syracuse. 😇

Tons of cute stalls to get souvenirs and many places to eat. Some of them are obvious tourist traps but many are very delicious and affordable. You can get fresh cheese, spices, cookies, spreads, etc. It’s always pretty crowded. Highly recommend purchasing fresh seafood and cooking if you are staying somewhere with a kitchen. So fresh and prices are amazing! The vege vendor at the end on the left next to the fancy restaurant speaks English also.

Fabulous markets. Brilliant food. The little local restaurants are to die for. I got a lovely mixed plate and so could sample all the fine fares of Sicilia on one plate. Great idea. And it was superb. Fresh produce is excellent.

Way too packed with people and mainly with tourists. As it was very crowded and hardly could walk, was not so enjoyable in the end. But we bought some tasty and fresh products. However it’s a market, it is not possible to negotiate, even not with the souvenir sellers and even if you speak Italian. It is a bit overpriced. (We also visited a market in Catania which was wayyy more cheaper…)

Very easy to make a reservation online. The place has a very comprehensive international wine list. You have to choose a matching tasting menu, probably if you order "a la carte" things are different. We chose the Artemide menu, matching wines glass are supplementary 70-80 euro per pax. Everything was excellent, as you would expect, The chef greets his guests as a plus. Clean, well maintained, tasteful place. I recommend for a nice lunch and/or dinner with close friends and loved one(s), but I am sure they can accomodate larger groups.

We came because of Don Camillo’s reputation and we will come back because it’s all true!! This is one of a very few places that makes a fantastic dirty martini! For dinner we had beef cheek, beef ravioli, beef sirloin, black shrimp, and delicious chocolate and pistachio cream desserts. Every dish was flavoured perfectly! Suggest a visit and bring your appetite with you 😋

What a place, what incredible wine, what a service. We brought our 6 month old baby, which is bold for a restaurant of this quality, but the staff was more than happy to welcome us. We had an amazing experience. The food is to die for - money well spent

We had a really nice dinner at Don Camillo. The service was excellent (nothing less to expect from a Michelin restaurant) and the food was pretty good. We ordered from the menu because we weren't very hungry and all the suggested options by the waiter were quite on point. It's definitely a good restaurant to have a nice dinner!

One of the best meals we had in Sicily! The restaurant offered incredible options and multiple tasting menus, but also an à la carte selection for a more personalized experience. The service was exceptional, and it was such a nice touch to see the chef visiting tables to ensure every guest was enjoying their meal. The food was a perfect mix of authentic Sicilian flavors! Dishes were fresh, creative, elevated and absolutely delicious! Well had an incredible time here, would definitely return.

Really amazing food. I went there 3 times during my stay. The gazpacho burratta soup, was like a hug to the soul! Really loved their Lamb Shank too, and lamb is very rare in the restaurants around as they are mostly seafood . Really friendly staffs.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The foie gras was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. But the lamb... it was truly outstanding – tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. A dish that left a lasting impression! We also had a glass of Catarratto wine – fresh, elegant, and the perfect pairing for the meal.

Simply one of the best experiences - cannot recommend this place enough. After two weeks in Sicily eating amazing food, this place was one of the last we visited and it exceeded expectations. The decor and atmosphere is so good we feared we may be walking into a tourist trap, but the small menu put our minds at ease. Every single staff member was a pleasure to interact with. We ordered lasagna, risotto, and the lamb on our waiter’s recommendation. All absolutely delicious, but the lamb in particular was the best lamb we’ve ever had. Shared a hazelnut dessert to finish. I could rave forever about how much we loved this place - they make you feel as if you are dining with old friends.

Wow. What a fantastic dining experience. Greeted by the owner who had a cheeky smile and fun attitude. We sat in the courtyard and ordered the cod starter to share, beef Rossini and steak with green peppercorn sauce and a basil panna cotta to finish. The service was awesome, the food just as good. Cozy Bistro Tucked away in an Ortigia alley, Le Vin de L’Assassin is a cozy bistro blending French-Italian flair with charm. Service is warm and professional. Leave room for dessert—it’s worth it. Popular and intimate, reservations are highly recommended for this unforgettable dining spot.

While the food was great, the whole dinner was ruined by the utter incompetence of some of the staff. They neglected us as the restaurant became busier, we were charged more for our dinner (the price online is way different than what you pay there, and their excuse is that they haven’t updated the prices yet - is that even right?) and in general we felt not welcomed. It’s a shame, as I think the chef’s incredible masterpieces are ruined by the way we felt during dinner. I would recommend to go elsewhere, so many better restaurants to eat. My advice to the restaurant is to hire more professional waiters.

I was a “walking-in” during the late night to Regina Lucia restaurant. Strolling through the beautiful square and its cathedral, which by night its at its best, got an incredible table to a mind blowing view for a really memorable dinner. Service was the most welcoming, very helpful to choose greats wines to enjoy the view and suggest few specials dishes to try as we were not hungry enough for a full dinner. Clearly all the dishes were top quality on flavor, presentation, ingredients, but mostly on the plate full setting it offers for a great balance. My favorite was the raviolis, that despite its shelfish filling its prime flavor came from its sauce. I got to say that it’s balanced and elegant. I would say each plate holds a core flavor without it u adding to many kicks as other would do. A litter meal that i really enjoyed.

We stayed 10 nights in Ortigia and this was our best meal. The location is amazing, right in the Piazza Duomo and we sat outside. Yes it’s on the pricey side but it was worth it. All our food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. As was the wine. A wonderful experience.

We had a private room with great service and catering for 30 people all of whom had attended a wine tour this week. All dietary requirements were seen to and understood with great high-quality substitutes provided. As free, I always feel I get a poor substitute so I was very very happy with the effort they had provided. The food was exquisite! Highly recommend

Amazingly located and some good food, but room for improvement. If you can sit outside (what I can fully recommend), you’ll have a nice view over the piazza and the duomo - nice and a great location. But that’s also why the restaurant is often frequented by tourists and accordingly quite pricey. Unfortunately, not all dishes are worth their price. The Millefoglie di Pesce Spada alla Norma (swordfish) was really good, the pasta was good too. The secondi sea bass patty (Branzino con patate schiacciate alla matalotta in crosta di pistacchio) and the tuna (Tonno leggermente scottato con Caponata mandorle e pistacchio) were rather average and already a bit cold when served. The chefs could have made more out of the high quality ingredients. Also the espresso was a bit disappointing, quite thin - very untypical for an Italian-style coffee. Service was also rather okay-ish. Once we had ordered, we were ignored and had to put a lot of effort into getting the attention of the staff. All in all: food is okay, but the atmosphere doesn’t justify the high prices.

Exceptional. We had a dinner for 2 on the terrace. The location and view are stunning. The starters were really tasty (especially the sword fish) and same was for the mains. It ended up being a bit pricey (€200 for 2), but service and food were top notch. Highly recommend.

We loved this place. We came here twice during our trip to eat the mussels with fries. We couldn't get enough of the gorgonzola sauce. The wines we tried also paired really well with the food.

This restaurant is truly committed to local and seasonal cuisine. The mussels with gorgonzola are one of their signature dishes and definitely worth trying. We had the daily specials, pasta with figs and smoked tuna as well as pasta with swordfish. Both dishes were exceptionally well balanced and full of flavor. Dining here is always a safe and satisfying choice, with a menu that reflects both creativity and respect for tradition

If you’re in Ortigia, this is the place to go. The food is locally sourced and the flavours are great. Especially when paired with a bottle of Italian or local Sicilian wine. The owner, Fabrizio and the whole staff are great. Really welcoming, friendly, professional and all proficient in English. Even the crowd is a mix of Italians, locals but also many tourists from all over! Great atmosphere and we got also a nice band playing live music for the restaurant. Food recommendations from me: the octopus in Love and the fresh pasta with Sicilian local red prawns and truffle shavings. Don’t forget to try the traditional almond biancomangiare. Super light, flavourful and simple dessert. The basil panna cotta is also a favourite. I would definitely visit again. Highly recommended! Five stars

I came here with a friend, and we both ordered the fillet with green peppercorn sauce. Unfortunately, both steaks were cooked the same way — not seared on the outside as a proper steak should be, but rather looking and tasting more like the sliced, boiled meat you might get in a school cafeteria, with no crust and very little flavor. When we mentioned this to the waiter, the only response we got was, "Nobody has ever complained about our steak before", "Next time it will be better", and that there was no butter in the kitchen — as if that excused the lack of proper cooking. There was no apology, no offer to replace the dish, and the full price remained on the bill. This was extremely disappointing — not only because of the poor quality of the steaks, but also because of the way the complaint was handled. Good customer service means addressing a guest’s concern on the spot, not just promising to do better "next time".

We selected this restaurant because we could sit outside without any cars, and few people passing, as it is in a quieter side street. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We feel eating out in Ortigia with its hundreds of restaurants is "pot luck" when choosing a restaurant, but we struck gold this evening!

Amazing prices considering the freshness and flavors - tuna with caramellized onions, breaded swordfish, swordfish cubes, calamari, pasta with swordfish... Friendly, attentive, laidback staff happy to chat about the local culture. The pistachio gnocchi and exploded cannolo are also must-tries, but honestly, after 3 days of eating here there wasn't a single dish that wasn't exceptional in some way.

Tucked into one of Ortigia’s breezy side streets, Locanda Del Collegio feels like one of those restaurants you wander into by instinct—and then end up bookmarking for life. With the gentle slope of the alley guiding you toward the sea and a salty breeze dancing through the air, it’s the kind of spot where you sit down for dinner and suddenly lose track of time. We started with the polpo arrosto su purè di patate aromatizzate, and I’m still thinking about it. The octopus was perfectly charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with a silky, flavorful potato purée. The tagliolini con vongole, zucchine e ciliegino followed—and it was everything you’d want from a seaside dinner in Ortigia. Fresh, light, and full of subtle sweetness from the cherry tomatoes and zucchini, with clams that were briny and clean. It was a plate that didn’t try too hard—and didn’t have to. Service was kind and relaxed. The tables outside are charming, with Ortigia’s historic stones underfoot and just enough buzz from passersby to keep it lively.

Good food and nice quiet environment on a quiet street next to the busy tourist street. The swordfish pasta had a lot of fish in it and tasted good. The starter platter had 4 of each starter on the menu and it was amazing as well. The aperol spritz was €8 which was higher than all the other restaurants we went. Waiters didn’t speak much English but they were friendly. We had a good time.

Been in Sicily for 2 weeks and this has been in our top fave meals! The owner was super welcoming and helped us choose our dishes - all were sublime. I had the fish of the day, my partner had the spaghetti, and we shared the prawn meatballs (delicately fried) and baba rhum and homemade gelato (both delicious, baba with ricotta - nice touch!). We had our 6mo old baby and the owners / chefs were fantastic with her. Will absolutely be back!

What an unreal dinner experience in Siracusa. I felt like I was in my Nonna’s kitchen. Homemade style traditional meals and the interior is even reminiscent of home cooked meal. The service is excellent, the chef came out and checked on everyone, the staff couldn’t have been kinder too. We seemed to be the only tourists in the restaurant which is always a plus as it felt like a very authentic and delicious Sicilian meal. Be sure to make a reservation as this place books up!

Excellent Sicilian restaurant with emphasis on seafood which is extremely fresh. Great atmosphere and very friendly waiters, hostess and chef. Away from the tourist crowds on a quiet street and impeccably decorated. Highly recommended. They have plenty selections of best wines in Italy and there is a bar inside the restaurant. The place open from Mondays to Saturdays and closed on Sundays. They only open for dinner from 8:00 pm until 12:00 midnight.

One of the best restaurants ever !! Service, food, drinks, atmosphere was just the best. Menu was full of intrigue and variety without being too over the top. The service and engagement was world class without being in your face. We had the 5 course meat with vegetable course and I couldn’t have been more impressed. A little theatrical presentation helped. The outdoor setting on a cool spring evening made it even better with the setting of the domes above.

Having had so many wonderful experiences in Michelin-starred restaurants, my wife and I opted to visit Cortile Spirito Santo while staying in Ortigia. We selected the Cortile menu with wine pairings. The food, wine, and service were exceptional. We enjoyed the ambience; it was approachable and yet classy. We are still raving about the starters and the risotto. Walking home after the meal, we ranked Cortile Spirito Santo among the best of the Michelin-starred restaurants we’ve experienced to-date. We’d love to return when the weather is warm and dry enough dine outside.

We were very pleased to visit this Michelin star restaurant while visiting Ortigia. Truly very creative and artistically executed and tasteful. Very creative with basic ingredients and that’s what shows the beauty of this place. Our only comment would be regarding some of the servers as we couldn’t understand what they were saying and had to repeat asking them to slow down and they should be more relaxed. They wanted to show professionalism yet they show they wanted to finish what they have to say and run. With this kind of restaurant you need more communication at least.

What an excellent experience indeed. A truly enjoyed dinner full of deep taste. All the dishes we selected were very tasty and well thought and executed. The surrounding is a small pleasant court inside a hotel building. Apart from the great food which is memorable, something rare I might add these days.....the service needs serious training.

Cortile Spirito Santo is easily among the top three restaurants we’ve experienced in Sicily. Housed in a stunning 17th-century palazzo in Ortigia, this Michelin-starred is led by young chef Giuseppe Torrisi, whose cooking is as elegant as it is deeply rooted in Sicilian tradition. We had the pleasure of meeting him — and were struck not only by his creativity, but by his quiet humility and thoughtful approach to flavor. Standout dishes included the now-iconic “Peppe’s Egg” — an earthy, playful creation layered with truffle, aged Sicilian parmesan, and crispy bacon; the monkfish meunière, delicate and intense with wild fennel and asparagus; and the gorgeous “Made in Sicily” almond tartlet, shaped like the island itself — a brilliant, lightly sweet finale. Equally impressive was the very young sommelier, whose calm expertise guided us to an extraordinary Sicilian white that perfectly matched the meal. The olive oil served with the bread was, without exaggeration, the best we tasted in all of Sicily — grassy, peppery, and unforgettable. Service was impeccable from start to finish. Cortile Spirito Santo is not only refined — it’s sincere, warm, and completely deserving of its growing reputation. A true destination restaurant.

We note Cortile Spirito Santo is a one-star Michelin restaurant. We think it should receive another star. It has now become one of our top 5 best restaurant we've been to...and we've been to a lot... Incredible food!!! And amazing service. The tartare was probably the best I’ve ever had… perfectly seasoned and the orange sauce was so tasty. The gnocchi was perfection… . We loved speaking with the owner and seeing her passion and explanation of all the items…. Thank you ❤️🙏

We were in Syracuse for 1.5 days and we went here twice. Every single dish we got was a piece of culinary art. The dish of grilled fish was a great choice for two people to try different kinds of seafood. The fish were so fresh they melted in my mouth. The tuna tartar was very delicate and an absolute blast. The sardine and orange and fennel salad? I can’t stop thinking about it. I’ve had cannoli all over sicily and none of them beat the one I had here: light, soft, the right amount of sweetness. The cherry on top is that they’re also pro-Palestine and they have it written all over the restaurant.

We visited Sicilian Intavola twice and both times were unforgettable. The owner is incredibly present, warm, and makes the whole dining experience feel special. The food is nothing short of spectacular, fresh, authentic, and bursting with flavor. My partner said it was one of her top three meals ever which says it all. Truly a gem that we’ll keep coming back to!

We came here for dinner and were immediately greeted with that kind of warm, no-frills welcome that makes you feel like you’re about to eat something special. And we were right. I started with the tartara di pesce, which was hands-down one of the freshest, most delicate tartares I’ve had in Sicily. Local seasonal fish, expertly hand-cut and served with caramelised red onions and a silky tomato emulsion that somehow made every bite better than the last. It was clean, bright, and deeply flavorful. For the main, I had the spaghetti V.G.P.—a love letter to Sicilian seafood. Veraci clams and local pink shrimp, gently kissed with white wine and just a touch of datterino tomatoes, then finished with pistachio granella for texture and that signature island twist. A dish that’s rich without being heavy, and elegant without trying too hard. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, with just enough buzz to keep it lively. Tables are close. Service was kind and helpful—especially if you ask about the daily specials or local wine pairings. The team clearly knows what they’re doing and cares deeply about showcasing the island’s best ingredients. Will definitely return without a doubt. This place captures the heart of Sicilian cuisine without overcomplicating it. It’s honest, soulful cooking that makes you want to come back the next night.

We went there after an issue came up with a reservation at another restaurant. Lucky for us, they were able to fit us in and it was easily our best meal in Ortigia. Both of our pastas were delicious. Our server was so helpful, with great food, wine and dessert recommendations. Highly recommend.

The tasting menu is an incredible value for money, maybe even too much - you better be hungry and even then it’s going to be a challenge to chew yourself through it. Some courses are more creative than others and the service was a touch unmotivated, but we stood up nonetheless satisfied at the end.

We had the tasting menu. Food was soso for me. I generally like garlic bread but this one didn't taste good on its own, in any sauce, or any broth. The pasta with tuna ragou at the end was really not to my taste. We saw a lot of people didn't finish theirs either. i was hovering 3 stars but the dessert was really good. We had the pistachio cheesecake and Panna cotta. Wine and water and dessert being included saves this for me.

Very good. Due to heavy rain, they were closing early. However the manager open for us. Made an off the menu red sauce dish for my wife and seafood pasta for me. Bread with olive oil seasonings and red pepper flakes. Very good. Nice quaint atmosphere.

Amazing seafood restaurant in Siracuza. I recommend to pick degustation menu for 45 eur/person. You will get all the best their meals in that price (a lot of amazing food). From raw seafood, scampi, fried fish, pasta etc. Great place!

Had a terrific lunch from the fresh seafood tasting menu €50. “Tasting” was a lot more than a taste, we were served good portions. Attentive service, quiet, very enjoyable.

We loved this place. Small cozy yet it is full of warmth. Wished the menu had more choices but with what they had it was very tasty and fresh. Loved their fried stuffed sardines with pine nuts and raisins. Their server was amazing and very friendly. Would definitely go back again.

Nice seafood restaurant right along the coast. Too hot/sunny to eat outside, but two indoor dining areas. Nice menu and seafood offerings. We had whole grilled bream, shrimp, and a salad. Very well done. So hungry and good that I didn't get a photo before we'd eaten most of the food. Pleasant and attentive service.

Hands down best Linguine I’ve ever had. Stuff is magical. They will pass the legend of this pasta down through the ages. The tuna steak a beauty. Ruby red. Extremely tender. The orange salad is fresh and delicate. Friendly atmosphere. Good reggae music. Perfect.

Stumbled on this little gem by accident walking back to my accommodation on a quiet weeknight. The staff were amazing, so patient and helpful. My meal (as recommended by the staff) was delicious and the chilled rosato equally so. Had I not been leaving Syracuse the following day, I would definitely have returned.

A small restaurant off the main streets offering superb service and tasty food. The owner is so friendly and helpful on choices. We discovered a new white wine which was delicious and went so well with our seafood dishes. I would certainly visit again for the food, service and just lovely relaxed vibe.

Food: could be better the open lasagne was missing some salt (even with the added parmigiano, the tomato sauce was a bit blend), otherwise it was very good combination and a nice idea. The swordfish was ok. And the potato and leek piure was a little bit disappointing. It wasn’t bad, but the texture was something else from what we thought it will be. So 3.8-4/5, but I would definitely come back to try some kore visionary food! The service was spotless, thank you very much! Easy 5/5. Atmosphere: well, we had a bunch of people there..smoking and having a pretty loud talk, but this was not the restaurant’s fault, the restaurant looked pretty. 5/5. Thank you!

I had a lovely time at the restaurant. The food was amazing 💘 my first Italian experience in a restaurant and it was the best choice I could have made. Not only for the food but also for the beauty of the place. The decoración was georgeous and made a better experience. Also Kiri and Sophie were so nice with me. I really wanted to enjoy the food here as the staff were very cordial and professional. However, the food was just not good. Their website doesn’t have a menu and hard to find what they offer. The restaurant had a lot of good reviews so decided to blindly give it a go. Started with an appetizer, which was written as fried sardines over creamy potatoes. The sardines were overly dry and tasteless placed on top of lumpy, dry mashed potatoes. I choose one of the daily specialties as my main course only to have the wait staff come back to tell me they no longer had that dish available. It was lobster with pasta. It was less than 2 hours after they opened and it was not busy at all, 6 other people in the restaurant. I had to look back over the menu to make another choice. I don’t eat meat, si it was a hard choice with such a limited merit. I decided on spaghetti with frutti di mare. The seafood was small pieces of chewy, overcooked seafood. The sauce had no flavor other than the hot pepper flakes on it. Pictures are when the dish arrived and when it was returned barely touched. The bread was very good, fresh and warm, basically what I ate for dinner

This was our favorite meal of our entire honeymoon! The service was phenomenal and they treated you like family. My ravioli was delicious and my husband greatly enjoyed the seafood risotto. We were treated to complimentary lemon sorbet and limoncello shots. We truly felt celebrated and loved. 11/10 recommend trying this restaurant. If we are ever in Sicily again, we will definitely be back!

Great tasting menu but can be inconsistent. Came here twice during my time in Siracusa. Once for the tasting menu (7 courses) and another time for a work event. The first time we came the food was fantastic. However the second time we came the food was so-so. Pasta was over cooked and most of the dishes under seasoned. Understandably we were close to 40 pax. Four stars mainly because the service needs to be improved. The waiters were not as hospitable or attentive as they could be.

Food was amazing and plate sizes were neither big nor small. Wine selection is good, nothing superb. Service could improve. The waiter kept leaning over me to fill other people's wine glasses or to give them their food, and this is not acceptable for a restaurant in a Michelin list. There's also a very annoying doorbell sound that alerts the waiters that the food is ready so they go get it, but it disturbs the people that are having dinner.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the restaurant itself was really nice! Before the first course with got complimentary amuse bouche which was a nice surprise. The first course - oh my god - it was amazing! We took caramelized salmon, poached egg and a parmigiana, all of which were incredible! The mains were also really good, especially the lobster linguine pasta! The other main dishes we had were all good, but the they couldn’t top the starters. The desserts were all super tasty! I highly recommend everyone who has the opportunity to eat here to do so!

A nice classy restaurant that serves seafood, pasta and meat dishes. The vault like dining room is nice, staff are professional and friendly, seating areas are comfortable and not too crowded. Good selection of wines. Prices are above average; you pay for the 'fine dining' experience. Dishes are very well presented, tasty and a couple of really good ones! Can definitely recommend the king prawns wrapped in vermicelli for starters and the steak for mains.

Beautifully presented food in an unassuming location down a side street in the old town. Rather pricey, but worth it as a special treat. As seems typical around Ortiga it was very quiet at lunchtime, us alone, and one other table joined later. Service very professional, helpful, fairly friendly. Given the spend (over 260EUR for two people), an offer of a digestiv would have been nice Minor details, like the initial stuffiness of the restaurant on arrival (felt like the aircon had only recently been turned on) slightly let down the ambiance. Overall though we really enjoyed lunch, amazing flavours, and would definitely recommend.

A truly unique experience. The food was extraordinarily good and the staff was kind and squeezed us in even though we didn't have a reservation. I can wholeheartedly recommend the pasta menu for the main course, as many of their pasta dishes have apparently recieved Michelin nominations.

Hidden gem and insider tip! Tucked away in a small street we found this stylish and elegant restaurant. Very good diner, high quality ingredients , nice ambiance and the service was really friendly. The swordfish/courgette dish was our favorite. Excellent price -quality ratio.

One of the freshest fish and seafood we have ever tasted in restaurants, both in Greece and abroad. The dishes were cooked (or, in raw plates, prepared) in such a way that highlighted the freshness and flavor of the ingredients. The restaurant manager was extremely polite, served us willingly even though we arrived late, at a time when their kitchen had just closed, and was very explanatory about everything. The service was excellent, fast, and very polite. It is definitely worth the money and is a place we will surely visit again, if we return to Syracuse. It was the perfect closure to our trip to Sicily, and we thank them all very much!

One of the best restaurants in Sicily！ Everything is fait-maison and fresh ( the broth, the fish and the veggies etc.) Good advice for local wines. Last point - lovely decoration and ceramic pieces on the table.

This is, without a doubt my favorite restaurant. Not only in Sicily, but in Europe. The combination of taste, friendlyness and character is what it makes it so special. The location, too. You sit on the charming market of Ortigia. Another plus: it is rather small - so the output of the small open kitchen is plausible. First time here, we came round lunchtime without Reservation. They made room for us and the feast began: ceviche, tartar and fritti di Mare - all perfect and delicious! A true seafood treat! On repeated ocasions I ate the monk fish ragout and grilled whole fish and tartare again and again. Wine: Two of their wine suggestions became highlight of my personal wine cellar, both are Grillo (which, of course go well with fish). And both come with a recall of Ortigia market even if I am 1000 miles away. La Lisca is magic to me.

Would I move my entire family and all my belongings to Sicily just to eat at this restaurant more often!? Absolutely! Do you know the feeling of falling asleep in between fresh clean sheets? Getting into a warm bath on a cold winters day? Or that uncle who's been telling you conspiracy theory's all day finally leaving after Christmas dinner!? That's what it's like taking your first bite of the amazing sea food this place offers you. Forget the day you met the love of your life, forget the day your kids where born, just forget about your children completely anyway, because can you eat children? A judge told you can't. But can you eat fish? My insurance says I can! This fish is so fresh it arrives at your table on the boat it was caught on. And yes that is unpractical, and yes it's indeed hard to parallel park a ship... but all of that creates a culinary moment you'll cherish for the rest of your life. Oh and great service btw!

We came here by a recommendation from someone who we met at the beach on the same day. Unforgettably funny staff and great fresh sea food. The cannoli is super fresh. They fill it just before serving it and it huge. 😍 Highly recommended. Open at 7.30 pm. Get there on time otherwise you find yourself with no table.

There was something weird about the service. I think they did not like us, our family of four! Waiter was somewhat impatient when we ordered. Then he felt we needed to order appetizers. Which we did not mind, even though we were not that hungry. Food was simple and delicious. Menu is very concise, the way we like it. We got Aperol Spritz glasses with our bottle of wine. After we finished our main course, our son really liked the pasta and we asked if we can order another half portion (because we read online that they offer half portions too) and the waiter started an argument why just one person was eating more, and he asked inside and the came back and said they would not do that. Anyway, just a bit of a weird experience. Not sure what we did wrong on our end.

Disappointing experience overall. Service was very slow and inattentive. The bread was extremely hard and stale—closer to a rock than something fresh. The octopus starter tasted overly fishy and had a slimy texture. I’d recommend dining elsewhere.

I had dinner here with my family and boyfriend. It was the worst experience we had in Sicily. Racist undertone coming from the waiter, they also rejected us when we asked for extra plates. Food was nothing to write home about, you are in Sicily so it’s very hard to find really bad food. I would not come back and I think you would be better off dining at neighbouring restaurants. There was a neighbouring restaurant that looks amazing, I’m still regretting the fact we didn’t choose them over Carnezzeria.

Great location for a restaurant and good atmosphere, it was just getting going when we arrived. My husband had swordfish - which he really enjoyed. My choice was the cod. It was a good sized portion in a creamy (potato?) sauce, but it was barely warm. I like my food to arrive piping hot. The fish itself was watery and had no discernible flavour, so this was very disappointing. I might have said something to the serving staff if anyone had come over to ask how our food was, but once we were served no one came back to check on us. Our only disappointing experience in Ortigia.

Highly recommended, and absolutely stellar dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with the aroma of freshly prepared seafood dishes. The ambiance was charming and inviting. The seafood was incredibly fresh. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.

We ate dinner very early in Sicilian standards- 6:30pm. The waitress was very friendly and answered all my questions about local life. I felt very welcomed- felt like a small town place to me. The food was very good. We had the ensalada bufalo- amazing! And the Parmesan (Parmesan aubergine) and the carbonara- the meat melted in your mouth. They also offered raw oysters, prawns and lagoustine- we didn’t chose this but many did. They will grill all but the oysters. The oysters were from France and China. We had a lovely time and would go back.

Spent the morning walking around Ortigia and asked a local where I can get the best Spaghetti Vongole (my quest in Sicily) and was directed towards Medusa - Kamel. I wasn’t disappointed. The potion was HUGE and was extremely tasty. The large sprig of Basil leaves added another dimension to the flavour. I had 5 oysters to start, a bottle of Rose and the Vongole. They didn’t serve coffee and I needed a pick me up so I had what was probably the best tiramisu on this trip It wasn’t crowded on a sunday, a large family on one side, regulars by the look of it and a young couple at another table. It was the perfect setting for a long, quiet lunch. The staff were extremely friendly, especially the chef who kept referring to me as ‘My friend, my friend….’ I will definitely be back if I am ever in Ortigia again. Highly recommended!

A spectacular local seafood restaurant you must go! Our B&B host recommended it and we loved it so much and went back again, and we only stayed in Syracuse for 3 nights. I am not a pasta person but their pasta Wes the best one in Italy, better than we had in Michelin one star restaurants. The fish was so fresh and delicious and melted in your mouth! Also very big portion of food. Highly recommended!

Recommended by our host in Siracusa, it was not in our favorite places. My pasta were (again) very oily, I could not finish them, while the grilled meat was simply ok, nothing special. We preferred to eat outside but there were constantly cars passing on the road, so even if you have a smoker in your group, I recommend eating inside as it looked nice and it was also cool in.

This was the best restaurant we have found so far in Italy! We though we died and went to heaven! The bread was delivered just before they opened- fabulous! We were given complimentary grilled zucchini, eggplant, etc- out of this world! We both had very fresh swordfish - one coated with breadcrumbs one plain. We have observed that restaurants in Italy slice the fish very thin (as opposed to NE USA where at least one inch is the norm). So while tasty it was more dry than we are used to. The breaded was more moist.Presentation was amazing! The pasta with red sauce was the best we have ever had! We would have gone back but they are closed on Monday. Don’t miss out on this restaurant!

This charming restaurant is located on a quiet and shady side street in Ortigia. Our little excursion group enjoyed a leisurely and delicious lunch at one of the outdoor tables. It seems to be a family-run restaurant with much attention paid to the quality and presentation of the food. I can highly recommend the grilled fish platter which arrives sizzling hot to your table. The dishes ordered by others in the group (seafood risotto, penne with eggplant) looked tempting as well. We started with bags of freshly baked little bread rolls, dipped in olive oil. That in itself was worth it! Portions are generous and service came promptly and with a smile for weary travellers. Overall, an excellent dining experience and terrific value for money. Highly recommend this as a ‘refuel and recharge’ stop between sightseeing in gorgeous Ortigia!

It's really great local seafood. We spent 4 nights in Siracusa and this was by far the best option we found in the old town. It's a bit of the main tourist road - which is usually the place where you find the best spots anyway.

A hidden gem in Syracuse! With a powerful husband and wife duo, from beginning to end. The welcoming atmosphere was amazing and the food, superb with no equal since living in Sicily. Just this restaurant alone is enough for me to keep coming back to Ortigia. Although tucked away, it is worth going to if you are ever in the area.

Very welcoming and kind staff, everything just felt super professional, the food was brilliant. They have a smaller menu which means, all the dishes are perfected. We tried their so called pine appetizer, a mix of different things with veggies and fish and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. The tuna tartare was amazing!!! And finally, spaghetti with lobster...fantastic. They also have a lovely wine selection. We loved our dinner experience here, and they were also super sweet with our toddler who ran around all the time. Highly recommend booking a table, not sure you'll have a spot without one. We booked our table few hours before going on a Thursday, right at their opening time (7pm) and the place was full within minutes.

We enjoyed a delightful meal here on our first night in Ortigia. We had the mixed appetizer plate, which gives you a chance to try several of the local specialties. And we chose the lobster spaghetti for 2, which has a very light fresh tomato sauce. Tiramisu for dessert. All very nicely done, all with fresh local ingredients.

An outstanding seafood experience! This is a small restaurant with a short menu, but the quality is exceptional. The chef personally came out with the fresh catch of the day and explained each dish, which made the whole experience special. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and they took great care to ensure the food was safe for both our toddler and a pregnant family member. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a truly memorable meal. Highly recommended!

A true no-nonsense spot in Ortigia. The seafood and pasta were incredibly fresh, portions generous, and everything cooked with great care. OMG - is what we kept uttering throughout our lunch here. The restaurant is small and located in a very unassuming corner in the eastern coast of Ortigia. We sat on the outside terrace. The smell of fried seafood was a real teaser for us and the dishes did not disappoint! Loved vongole pasta and calamari, I eyed the dishes on the tables around us and would love to come back for all of them! Staff that introduced us to the menu was super lovely and knowledgeable, felt almost like we were in a proper nice restaurant with her service. Very good value for money too!

We starved all day just to have enough room to eat here again. This pasta right here was the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten & the fried fish is mind blowing. I’ve been all over the world and all over Italy and nothing can compare. Im heartbroken that I won’t be able to eat this anywhere else. I will come back again to ortigia exclusively to eat here.

Great food and honest service We had a lovely meal here, enjoying a mix of fried seafood—calamari, shrimp, and small fish—all perfectly cooked and flavorful. One person in our group wanted pasta, and since the portion was quite large, the staff kindly suggested bringing her half instead. That kind of honesty and thoughtfulness is something we truly appreciated. Overall, the service was excellent and very attentive. Prices were fair and reasonable. A great spot if you’re looking for tasty food and warm, genuine hospitality.

I only came to Il Tiranno Caportigia Restaurant for the breakfast buffet, but it was excellent and high quality. They had a huge range of options, including including eggs, pancakes, waffles, meats/cheeses, pastries, fruit, and so much more. I ate so much and really enjoyed my meal. The waiter was also very friendly and attentive. I could tell this restaurant is higher-end and a great place to dine.

My husband organized my bday dinner here. We had the 6-course tasting menu for 120 a person, without alcoholic drinks. Food presentation is a true art and flavors were excellent. Despite saying I don’t like tuna I got a tuna butter… well… it was good for someone who likes that taste. The scallops were my favorite, perfectly cooked and flavor was divine. Our cocktails were made in front of us at the bar wagon, in accordance to the chefs recommendations. Staff speaks perfect English, and accommodated dietary preferences. Unfortunately they didn’t read the comment in the reservation that it was a birthday so I lacked the candle on my dessert - make sure to remind the waitress upon your arrival if you want sth special during your dinner with them. Also be sure to bring their tip in cash!

Food as art! One of the best meals I have ever had. And I’ve eaten at some spectacular restaurants around the world. Not only was each item gorgeously plated, the subtle flavours in combination were masterful. It was a party for my mouth and my eyes. Truly unforgettable. And to top it off, the service was spectacular. Watermelon and tuna. Pistachio biscuits with ricotta crema to die for. Amuse bouche that did far more than amuse. Wow. Just wow!!

il Tiranno at the boutique hotel Caportigia offers a truly unique gastronomic experience in Siracusa. After checking into the Caportigia hotel in late afternoon, we decided to just go to il Tiranno for dinner out of convenience. But right from the start with the chef's complimentary welcome appetizers, then our starters, mains and desserts were all delicious and beautifully prepared. We were struck by the breath and depth of flavours and the unexpected compositions of fresh ingredients that simply left us in awe. Then came breakfast the next morning that in addition to the usual breakfast buffet items, we found a variety of delicately prepared delicious mini sandwiches, savory and sweet pastries, pies and cakes. If you are planning to come to Siracusa, we highly recommend that you consider staying at Caportigia boutique hotel and dining at il Tiranno. We like to thank Valentina and her team of Andreas, Chiara and Maria for a truly incredible dining experience at il Tiranno.

Very lovely place, we walked by one evening, came in the next, and what a treat! The service was excellent, warm and welcoming. The food was very good, creative and tasteful. The new burrata salad was extraordinary, my wife has never had a better version!

Standards are fried mixed seafood and bruschetta with marinated anchovies. Only outdoor seating. (Price varies according to choice, 15-50 Euro)

we stumbled upon this GLORIOUS restaurant today for lunch and oh my, what a find!! The food was insanely good, there were many ooo’s and ahh’s as they brought food out as it was ready and every dish we had was packed full of delicious, fresh flavours. The atmosphere is super relaxed and cool, and felt very authentic. They were kind enough to say thank you with a few bruschetta’s for coming to have lunch on such a hot day (when most people were inside, likely with the air con on high) and the service overall was fantastic, really lovely people who just seemed to want us to have a lovely time- which we did!! can’t recommend visiting here enough, I wish I could eat here every day!!!

Very disappointed, portions were tiny for the price, order a fried mix 15€ and was mostly sardins and a bunch of small prawns, in general I didn’t like the food. The tuna carpaccio was better, but still small portion for 18€. On top they served in paper plates.

Let me set the scene: it’s 19:30 on a warm June evening, the kind where the sky melts into gold, a breeze wraps around you like a silk scarf, and swallows swoop through the air like they were choreographed just for your arrival. You take a tiny glass elevator to the top floor of the Grand Hotel Ortigia and boom—you step into one of the most elegant rooftop settings in Sicily. We had called just the day before to book and were lucky to find a spot (end of June = still doable, but I’d reserve ahead if you’re coming in high season). We were seated on the terrace—front-row seats to the most cinematic sunset over Ortigia, with boats drifting in the background and the sea stretching endlessly before us. The food? Let’s talk about that polpo. “Polpo doppia cottura su crema di patate” sounds poetic—and it is. Tender, rich, and the kind of dish you order as a secondo but secretly wish you could eat for every course. Then came the pasta: pistachio pesto and shelled clams swimming in a vibrant green sauce. Balanced, bright, and exactly what summer on a Sicilian rooftop should taste like. Service was very professional. We sat outside on the terrace, but there’s also refined indoor seating if the weather doesn’t play nice. We parked at Parcheggio Molo Sant’Antonio using EasyPark (about a 10-minute scenic walk along the lungomare) it’s large, easy, and feels like part of the experience. There may be closer options, but the stroll is worth it. Would I go again? In a heartbeat. And next time, I’m ordering dessert too.

My son and I came for my birthday dinner. Service was grand. We were dressed casually with no problem. The grouper fish and the veal were very good as well as the steamed shrimp. Drinks were ridiculously priced. $20 for a monitor and $26 for a suggested italian gin and tonic. The views are amazing.

Impeccable service and great food! Definitely a place where you should go in Siracusa for dinner. We had our 1st anniversary dinner here, and this is definitely where you want to have your romantic dinner at sunset. The food is perfect and the service is on point, etiquette followed through to the nines. You definitely pay for it, as prices are above standard, but then again you surely get what you pay for! In my opinion a 100% go to!

We had a romantic dinner. The restaurant is located on the third floor, terrace with beautiful views of the sea and sunset. In Syracuse in the evening it is a big problem to find parking. The restaurant provided a free parking space. My husband and I were greeted at the reception as friendly as dear guests. The staff speaks fluent English and German. The attentive staff made our stay at the restaurant comfortable throughout the evening. Special respect to the chef. The food is cooked at a high level, an incredibly subtle combination of flavors and spices. Octopus with the most delicate carrot puree with hints of saffron was incredibly delicious! The mussel soup was a hit, as my husband said. For the main course we took fish, sea bass and dorado. Flawless! The waiter suggested white wine for the fish, which was excellent. We enjoyed delicious food, impeccable service and pleasant music. Thank you! We will definitely return to your wonderful restaurant!

Fantastic restaurant ! Mauricio was super helpful and recommended Sicilian wine ! Phenomenal ! We enjoyed every course ! Mauricio also took amazing photos for us at sunset ! We had a nice conversation in English and German . Must go for visitors !!!!

A birthday celebration to remember. The zenith of Sicilian cusine? Yes and no. Service, ambience and enjoyment level all at the top. Each dish cooked to a very high standard, yes. I would give a 9/10 thank you to the team.

Fantastic restaurant, amazing and accommodating service, delicious and refined food in such a beautiful and elegant setting inside, while you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the marina on the outside. They'll even treat you to a glass of Prosecco and house chickpeas chips upon arrival, while 'Coperto' is free of charge! A MUST stop for a wonderful dinner while in Syracuse!

Having dinner at Lemon Tapas and Drinks Ortigia was one of the most memorable dining experiences we have had in Sicily. The service was fabulous, and the food was quick to arrive and delicious; I highly recommend the salmon! This is a small establishment with a casual atmosphere on a quiet street. Two tapas per person is a great start. Highly recommend!

What an exceptional recommendation from a couple we met earlier in the day. It took a while to find (in the rain) but it was worth it once we arrived and managed to get a table in the tiny restaurant. The food was exemplary and the service friendly and engaging. Seek it out and enjoy the gorgeous, simple flavours of authentic Sicilian food. Excellent prices too.

We had a lovely lunch at Lemon- delicious food , lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Chara took the time to explain the handwritten menu with dishes made from seasonal fresh produce. Francesco, the creative and wonderful chef working in his small space to delight the taste buds! We will be back for more with rhe kids next week. They are closed on Wednesdays.

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to this time. This is a hidden gem. Fantastic meal and just astonishing how they managed dinner service with just two people. They knew how to make you feel welcomed. Just authentic people, really nice and unpretentious. Loved it

A delightful restaurant tucked out of the way of the main drag. Hosts Chiara and chef husband Francesco are utterly delightful. The food was delicious, we had a selection of tapas, my particular favourites were octopus on mashed potato and the tiramisu which was so good I had two!! Highly recommend

Great place for evening cocktails, great view of the port, great people watching spot. Didn't eat here, other than free chips and crackers provided with beverages, but there is a seafood restaurant here as well with good variety.

The place to be for apérol spritz in Ortigia. Very reasonably priced (7€) and no cover charge. The view is great and they are very generous with their free salty snacks (smart as it made me thirsty).

Gorgeous place of course, but buyer beware! A group of us had drinks here and they double charged at least 4 of us! Only one caught it on his bank account before we left— the one who was actually triple charged, and the rest of us were too trusting that surely it was a mistake and not intentional until it was too late. The servers insisted they couldn’t do anything about it, but they could make him the two cocktails they charged his card for but only to go. I and the others, unfortunately, didn’t realize it until the next day when we had already left Sicily. I guess it makes sense… tourists are lulled by the beauty and safety of Ortigia, having alcohol and a good time… who’s going to check the bank account for the exact number of spritzes you had in Siracusa? A real disappointment that they would do it so often that it seems it may even be a company policy.

Huge variety of Spritz!! We spend a whole afternoon at this place because the service was so good! Drinks were perfect - thanks to Canio! After one of us had an incident with jellyfish in the waiter Corrado (one of the team) called the pharmacy to get some medicine. Everyone was very kind! After two hours drinking aperitivo time started, which was also very good! Thanks to everyone! Best experience in Syracusa!

Right now we are sitting in this wonderful bar with a beautiful view on the sunset enjoying our Aperol Spritz. The drinks come along with a free small buffet with very tasty snacks.The waiters are awesome, extremely polite and attentive, it seemed like they could read our minds. We asked if it's allowed to smoke. The waiter misunderstood us and thought we would like to have a cigarette and brought us some cigarettes on a tray for us!! We couldn't enjoy a better service :-) If you visit Syrakus - this bar is a must!!

The whole aperitivo experience is pretty great, with a location and view that are just amazing. However, as an Italian, I have to say the Spritz itself is just average.

Recommended by our apartment host, this restaurant just outside the touristy area was a fantastic find. The fried fish starter was excellent, and both the Pasta Norma and Carbonara were delicious. We ended with a lovely tiramisu and a complimentary raisin liquor from the kind waitress — a thoughtful touch. Great local vibe, reasonable prices and real Sicilian flavour. A must-go!

Nice food, served by prepared staff in a family business who have been there for long enough to know how some ingredients flavour pasta. Price is adequate and they could decorate better. Better vibe is if you sit outside. The place is at the end of the busy street, so less busy.

This feels like a real locals place , Not a tourists. We’ve been to Ortigia a couple of times but first time to find this beautiful little restaurant, definitely family run, the food was simply amazing from the fresh fish to the Pasta, the best find in all of Ortigia for us. Will be back every time.

The Palermo-style swordfish was amazing! The side salad (just a few pieces of lettuce) was a bit disappointing and lacked flavor. Overall, it was a great experience, though the prices are on the higher side compared to typical Sicilian standards.

Clear recommendation. Staff was super nice, unfortunately they don't speak English but everything worked fine as they were super kind and patient with us. Great dishes. Everything we had was super delicious. Price was absolutely fair. If I come back to the city I will definitely come back to this restaurant. Can only recommend it!

The past place to eat in Siracusa (Ortigia). The Paccheri pasta was one of the best pasta dishes, that i’ve had in Italy so far. The Bigoli with sardines were as tasty as the swordfish involtini. The service is super friendly and the whole place is super affordable and just amazing. :)

Overall not bad experience, pretty cheap as for portions and pasta tasted ok (ordered famous and recommended by many chef’s option) I mean, it’s ok, see photo, but definitely nothing to book a table for, lacked seasoning and I got 3 shrimps heads, but only two big shrimps and a lot of mini shrimps)) but what made this mark low is mixed grilled fish main dish, especially tuna — as they said fish of that day — was way overcooked and dry (check pic), I don’t know how fish places can do this to grilled fish and grilled calamari — was very rubbery (we didn’t even finish that one). I wouldn’t visit again, but maybe we just got unlucky.

Came here for an aperitivo, it offers a nice location and bit away from the crowds and with a nice view of the sea and some luxury yachts. Drinks were ok, quite disappointing cocktails. Service was very strange, had to ask several people to take the order. And they seem to work in sections but don’t talk to each other. Then later on was overly attentive trying to take away the plates whilst we were eating, or when we asked for bill focused on clearing the table instead of getting the bill. Very odd experience, wouldn’t recommend.

Really bad experience! We arrived more than one hour before closing on a Monday. Ordered 2 drinks from a really kind waiter, after we got our drinks a rude waitress brought out the bill without us asking for it. We were confused but she mase it clear that we have to pay so we did… Around 2:15am they were in a rush to close the bar meanwhile the place was open until 3am: they took the pillows of our seats (YES! FROM UNDER US!), also the decorations of the table. When I finished my drink at 2:24am I wanted to use the bathroom of the place but they didn’t let me! They said they had already cleand it but I can pee in the sea if I want😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 how nice, wonderful hospitality! The one waiter who took our order brought the key for the toilet, but one of the girl from the staff said NO again so he took it back! Really SHAMEFUL! You should not spend your money here!

Great sunset spot. The cocktails were very well balanced and the Etna rosy was lonely!

It’s a tourist trap and hence, a hit-or-miss place, having been there a few times in July/August 2025. The service is consistently bad, to put it mildly. The same food I ordered (salmon, tuna, octopus apero) tasted much better on a Sunday afternoon than on a Monday evening. Olive oil had no flavor. Balsamic splattered to make up for old octopus. Do yourself a favor, go to a place inside Ortigia, not off the parking dock for cruise ships as this place is. It will be more worth your while and, of course, money.

The most expensive drink of our entire visit to Sicily. Nice view of the yachts and sunset but totally not worth the price you pay. Also hidden extra costs of 2.50 per person as service charge. We paid 23 euro for two aperol spritz that barely had any aperol in them

Good local beers, really great music (Tom Petty, the Marshall tucker band) - creates a great vibe while why you are watching the ships roll in and the sun set. The only weird thing was two staff members making out in the open during their shift

Very tasty food and outstanding, friendly service. We wanted a light evening meal, so we shared several plates here and everything was quite good. Anchovy cake, fettuccini with red mullet, and veal meatballs, with a carafe of local white wine.

We just arrived in Ortigia and while walking in the beautiful historical center, my wife and I stopped at this place. The chef/owner welcomed us in a friendly way. We had the 5-course fish tasting menu to try local dishes. It was very delicious and fresh, local food. Stop by if you happen to be in Ortigia and want to have a wonderful experience!

As family of six, with two vegan members we were looking for an authentic Sicilian dining experience. We enjoyed the meat, fish and vegetarian tasting menus. The food was excellent, staff accommodating and friendly, service was good despite a busy evening. The house wine was some of the best we had. We had a chance to talk with the chef a couple times as he came out to check that we were enjoying the meal and express our thanks for accommodating our vegan members. Some of the dishes challenged our American midwest culinary palette but it was delicious. This was truly one our best meals in a country with great food.

This unassuming little place has good service and tasty food. A mix of local and tourist eat here. The servers speak little English, but they do have menu in multiple language. I am really happy with the clam pasta. My husband also got a fish pasta and he is quite happy with it. I can’t remember the names. The appetizer were also really good, both from the meat section. Also, if you have room, try their dessert.

Nice people and service and delicious food in Ortigia.

Food was ok but service was very slow. Over 40 minutes for the first course, and over 75 minutes for simple entrees (grilled octopus and chicken skewers), while other diners seated after us were served much more quickly. When we asked about slow service we got hand waving and vague references to the kitchen, rather than acknowledging the problem. Not good....

Closed on Wednesdays. Dinner on Thursday 9 May 2019 We discovered today that I had been mistaken for Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer! I told the lady who had mistaken me for CM that - (1) I had seen a dog outside five minutes ago (actually I had seen one walking by the front door of the restaurant and it was barking quite loudly), (2) The dog was saying "Bow, bow" and (3) When we left I was going to say to the dog (softly - dolcemente) "Be quiet - I am Cesar Millan". I said this in passable Italian and she listened carefully until she quickly realised that it was a joke and then she laughed! Both my wife and I got kisses when we left. I will never forget this night! Two bottles of water; one litre of lovely and inky house red wine (€10.00), one starter of Insalata di Arancia (orange salad), one starter of Rua ((homemade battered fried vegetables with Sicilian durum wheat flour and breadcrumbs), one main of Zuppa di Patate e Porri (potato and leek soup - so thick that seriously you could have eaten it with a fork) as they had no Zuppa di Legumi (vegetable soup, with or without pasta) and one main of Filetto di Spigola (sea bass fillet with seasonal vegetables) cost €60.00. Dinner on Tuesday 7 May 2019 We were recognised from last year. I was even asked if I was an actor!!! Ha! My wife just laughed (which poured cold water all over the moment). One bottle of water, one litre of house red wine (€10.00 and both smooth and inky), one starter of Rua (homemade battered fried vegetables with Sicilian durum wheat flour and breadcrumbs), one starter of Panelle (chickpea flour pancakes on a bed of mixed salad with toasted pine nuts), one main of Gnocchi di Patate (potato dumplings with pesto) and one starter of Filetto di Spatola (as they had run of Spigola or sea bass) with seasonal vegetables) cost €65.00. But, more importantly, we got back to our hotel to discover that Liverpool had beaten Barcelona 4-0 to overcome a 3-0 deficit and qualify for the Champions League final! Ha! In your sad face, lovely Lionel Messi. Dinner on Tuesday 10 April 2018 One bottle of water, one litre of house white wine (€10.00), one starter of Panelle (chick pea pancakes on a bed of mixed salad), one starter of Gran Bigne di Caponata di Melanzane (profiterole filled with a caponata of aubergines), one main of Cavatelli alla Norma (pasta with aubergines, tomatoes and ricotta cheese) as they had no Orzo Perlato (pearled barley), one main of Filetto di Pesce Fresco (fresh fish fillet in an almond crust with seasonal vegetables) and two coffees cost €62.00. Dinner on Sunday 8 April 2018 One bottle of water, one litre of Nero d'Avola (€10.00, but we were only charged €5.00 for a half litre!), two times Tortino di Carciofi Bianchi di Sicilia (Sicilian White Artichokes Pie), one Gnocchi di Patate (Potato Dumplings in a Pesto Sauce), one Tagliolini al Ragu di Triglia (Tagliatelle in a Red Mullet Sauce) and two coffees cost €61.00. I gave the waiter €70.00 but he handed me back €10.00! Our meal only cost €60.00 so we tipped €5.00 (as we always do, unless it is our last meal at a favourite restaurant and then we tip €10.00).
