Hotel La Pace is a charming 3-star hotel located in a tourist area of Pisa, just a short walk from the iconic Leaning Tower. The hotel offers comfortable and straightforward rooms with amenities such as cable TV, telephone, and air conditioning upon request. Guests can enjoy the convenience of airport shuttles, dry cleaning services, and concierge assistance. The hotel also features a bar/lounge, TV room, playroom, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
Had a simply amazing stay with me my hubby and daughter. Warm welcome by Veronica and full support 5 stars Luxurious double room with equally luxurious washroom comfortable beds with best linen 5 stars. Breakfast in the morning was EXCELLENT :) Rolando went above and beyond His fresh Cappuchino was the Best Thanks to the entire staff Will come back again

We didn't book this hotel thinking it was going to be the four seasons, but we were happy that the rooms were clean, had comfortable beds and the showers were great. Decor is a bit dated, but that's what ls shown on the website, however, the staff were awesome and very welcoming. It's proximity to the train station is the main sell for me, plus it's a gentle 10 minutes walk to the Arno. Around the old town you have a vibrant night life and this place is the perfect hub with which to explore.
Andy G — Google review
Great little hotel very close to Pisa train station. €15 taxi from the airport - money well spent when hot. Excellent service. The staff assisted us with a dinner reservation and were very nice throughout our stay. Rooms are simple but clean and comfy. Good A/C. Breakfast was included in our rate. Ample selection. 20-min walk to the Leaning Tower. Would stay here again for an overnight.
Parker L — Google review
The staff is generally friendly and the breakfast is good. The location is ideal; the airport, train station and city center are within walking distance. However, the neighborhood feels unsafe due to the many immigrants walking around, some of whom try to intimidate you and don't take "no" for an answer. Our room on the 7th floor looked nothing like the beautiful pictures this hotel advertises with on all the websites. It was clean, but completely worn out and old. The shower barely runs and the water is either scorching hot or ice cold and there was no shampoo. A refrigerator, kettle and a safe were missing. Standard amenities you'd expect from a hotel. The complimentary bottles of water were also missing. I also have my doubts about fire safety. There's only one fire exit per floor, at the end of the hallway. In addition, they installed an electricity circuit breaker in the bathroom above the shower.
Michael V — Google review
I got to the Hotel last minute and even got complentar breakfast, the people was very kind, great customer service. Despite being a 3 star Hotel, the room felt more like a 4 star hotel. I had a great night sleep and the breakfast was also quite good. Recommend this hotel, just off Pisa central train station.
Antonio D — Google review
This is 3-star hotel, so my review compares it with other hotels in this category. Do not expect 4-5 stars luxury. This is an old, but fully renovated hotel, and we enjoyed our short stay very much :) First, the location is perfect. 2 minutes walking from the tran station, which is great if you're making a short trip to Pisa and efficient travel is important. Additionally, it's less than 30 min away (walking) from the Leaning Tower and other touristic spots. Second, the service: everyone is kind, and the food is really good, surprisingly diversified for a 3-star hotel. And finally, the room. We had a suite at the 5th floor which was far more than we expected (we're a family of 4, and proper family rooms are hard to find). The suite had 2 rooms separated by a door, beds for everyone (not extended couches, but actual beds), a dressing, a huge terrace, space to write at a desk, etc. The bathroom was fully functional, including the water and the shower. You will notice the furniture is not perfect, sometimes it's scratched, sometimes it shows signs of usage (esp. shower), but keep in mind that it's 3-star :)
Alexandra P — Google review
Strange hotel. We saw a lot of positive reviews, but our experience was a very unpleasant surprise. The room we received looked nothing like the pictures online. While it was clean and had enough towels, it was very basic, old, and completely run-down, with damages everywhere. The water pressure was almost nonexistent and the shower alternated only between boiling hot and ice cold. We also heard other guests complaining about the same issue, so it clearly wasn’t just our room. In addition, the room lacked basic amenities that were advertised on the website, such as a minibar, kettle, coffee maker, bottled water, a safe, or even a desk. The only extra provided was a device to repel bugs. The room itself was uncomfortably hot, and although it had an air conditioner, we didn’t dare use it; it looked like it hadn’t been maintained in ages and might have made us sick. The hotel is located in an abandoned shopping arcade, surrounded by beggars and immigrants constantly asking for things, which felt quite unsafe. The room itself also gave an unsafe impression and likely wouldn’t meet fire safety regulations. It was on the 7th floor but had only one emergency exit: the same way you entered. In case of a fire in the stairwell, the only way out would be to jump from the window seven floors down to the street. To make matters worse, there was an electrical panel directly above the shower, which could be extremely dangerous in combination with steam; though, given the lack of water pressure, that risk never materialized. We have stayed in many hotels across multiple continents, including in poorer countries, but this hotel ranks as one of the worst we have ever experienced.
M B — Google review
What I liked: Short distance to the train station What I didn't like: - The building feels very old, and I don't believe it should be rated as a 3-star hotel. Although the nightly rate is low, it still doesn't meet the standards of a 3-star property. The lobby had a strange smell, somewhat like a bathroom odor. The room did not have a fridge, which was inconvenient. The room light doesn't fully turn off, which made it hard to sleep. The shower door doesn't close properly, so water leaks out after showering. The towel radiator wasn't working during my stay.

B&B Hotel Pisa is a modern and affordable accommodation option that provides comfortable rooms, complimentary breakfast, parking, and Wi-Fi. Conveniently located near the airport, it offers easy access to attractions such as Cisanello Hospital and the Leaning Tower. The hotel features a garden, free internet access, and a television in a common area. Additionally, guests can enjoy amenities like free self-parking, an outdoor pool, and a business center.
The staff at the reception were super nice! One of the ladies helped us out when we had trouble booking a taxi and she sorted everything really late at night — so kind. The room was amazing, fresh and clean with a nice view. Another good thing is that it’s only like 5 minutes by taxi to the airport. Totally recommend!
Aylimas — Google review
had a very pleasant stay at B&B Hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering everything needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. A special mention goes to Ms. Jessica at the reception, who was extremely cooperative, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile. Her courteous behavior and helpful attitude made the stay even more comfortable and memorable. I truly appreciate the hospitality and would gladly recommend B&B Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed place to stay.

We had 1 night be before heading to Florence. It is over an hour to walk to town, but the bus was easy to use. We were here on a Sunday so no buses ran we had to get taxis (about €25) each way to center of Pisa. Room was clean, shower leaked water onto the floor and air con was stuck on the whole time, but was happy with that. Overall very happy staying here. Staff were helpful and friendly, spoke English well.
Oliver S — Google review
Everything was perfect, front desk very helpful and polite, breakfast was really good and of great quality, rooms were clean and comfortable. Much better than going for these old and dirty city centre hotels. Would definitely come here again.
Roger V — Google review
Clean and comfy. There is no kettle in rooms and you have to buy coffee or hot water at the machine that does not give full cup of water and it had weird taste. Otherwise - good parking, good rooms, close and easy to go back to airport.
Ance Ā — Google review
I had such a pleasant experience at B&B Hotel Pisa. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The front desk staff were welcoming and went out of their way to make check-in smooth and stress-free. They were always available to answer questions and gave great tips about getting around Pisa. The room itself was modern, tidy, and quiet, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Housekeeping kept it spotless, and the bed was very comfortable after long days of sightseeing. Another big plus is the convenient location — close to both the airport and the city center, making it very easy to get around. For the price, the quality and service exceeded my expectations. Overall, I highly recommend B&B Hotel Pisa for anyone visiting the city. Excellent value, friendly service, and a great place to relax
Dr A — Google review
Comfortable beds 🛏️ clean. Complimentary water and coffee. Great service at the lobby. Location is great if you need something close to the airport. Easy to go by bus to see the tower.

The young woman in the Breakfast Bar was outstanding. 10 stars! ❤️ The room was so cold we couldn't sleep and everything seemed in disrepair. Would not recommend staying here, but the Breakfast was outstanding.

3Grand Hotel Duomo

Hotel
The Grand Hotel Duomo in Pisa offers a luxurious stay with stunning views of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Located just a short walk from Piazza del Duomo, this upmarket hotel provides top-notch amenities including a restaurant, rooftop garden, and bar. The strategic location allows guests to easily explore the nearby attractions such as the Cathedral of Pisa. With its four-star status and impeccable service, the hotel promises an exceptional experience for both leisure and business travelers.
Surprised to see some of the harsh reviews on here. You get what you pay for and we found that it was worth it. The location is perfect!! A minute’s walk to the Leaning Tower and right in the centre with great restaurants at your doorstep. The rooms aren’t 5-star but they don’t sell themselves as 5 star so we weren’t disappointed. Clean, comfy rooms with all the basic amenities. The baby cot and linen provided were in great condition. The buffet was above average and enjoyable. They could have more variety but it had everything you’d need to get started for the day - fruits, pastries, breads, rolls, meats, eggs, juices, milk, yogurt, coffee, tea, bacon, etc. Overall, couldn’t fault this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay central and have everything at their fingertips. PS. The rooftop bar / terrace was STUNNING!!!! Book a table as soon as you check in.
T B — Google review
The highlight of the stay was the view from the rooftop restaurant! Still one of my favorite places I’ve been this summer. The location of the hotel is great! Just near the Tower. Breakfast was fine. The room was pretty modest, I would say it was a little overpriced for what it offered but we had everything we needed for a one night stay & we were satisfied with the whole experience ☺️
Agata Ş — Google review
A very well positioned hotel, about three minutes' gentle meander to the tower and the museums. To be fair, to say "there's an old charm to the hotel", would be the kindest way to put it. Many years ago, this would have been an extremely grand hotel... Maybe not quite so much now. There's a lot to like; a big bed, lovely bath and shower, good TV if you want it... It's all just a bit "worn". Breakfast is okay, but nothing special, although there's plenty of it. Reception staff are lovely and very helpful. We didn't try the restaurant, purely because there's so much on the doorstep. Worth a stay but don't expect luxury.
Simon P — Google review
If you want to stay in the center of Pisa, near the Tower of Pisa you are at the right place! Very good breakfast every morning. The Terrace Bar is great with amazing views of the tower and across the city. The room was great and very clean. Overall great location, very good breakfast, great value, very nice staff.
Andreea C — Google review
I would not expect this to be a 4 star hotel. It is very basic and old. The bathroom is bit moldy. The room is very small. The walls are not good isolated so you can hear your neighbors. Breakfast is also very basic. Also the wifi is not working in every room. The beds are very comfy tho and the location is perfect. Enjoy the rooftop terrace for a drink.
Phil L — Google review
Everything and everyone at this hotel was perfect! A stones throw from the tower. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were outstanding and nothing was too much!!! Breakfast was plentiful and excellent! Overall this was a 5 star service all around.
Rachel H — Google review
Good location and that's it. The rooms are basic, tiny and dated. The sink was not cleaned properly and was borderline clogged. We stayed on the first floor and it was very noisy. Not just from regular chatter but some kind of a generator type machine was running almost all night. We did not complain about any of this since we were just staying for one night but we are definitely not coming back. For the price it is 100% not worth it.
Denis — Google review
Charming old world style with all the modern amenities. Super friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. A fantastic view from top floor. Family suites are ideal for families. Walking distance from tower of Pisa.

Hotel
Nestled just outside the bustling heart of Pisa, Hotel Repubblica Marinara is a contemporary gem that combines comfort and convenience. This stylish redbrick hotel boasts elegantly furnished rooms with wooden floors, soundproofed windows, and modern amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi and minibars. The multilingual staff are always ready to assist you during your stay.
Nice hotel out of the crowded part of the town. Well connected with bus. Friendly personnel, good breakfast buffet and free parking place. Good restaurant and bar.
Gherardo I — Google review
Great location, with the bus being easy enough to use pretty much from a stop that was on their doorstep. The bedroom we had for a family of 4 was a pretty decent size, with a quality smart T.V. along with a Lavazza coffee machine too, a kettle and a mini fridge they had stocked up regularly with water as well. My highlight though was their absolutely delightful buffet breakfast room, which was stocked to the brim with so many Italian specialities. The staff were friendly too and it was generally well worth the price we paid, even though we expected there to be on-site spa facilities, but there wasn't after all. As we had kids though, we were happy visiting a nice nearby beach on a bus from the main central station instead for an afternoon, along with our trip into Pisa city and a bite to eat from a restaurant over the road from this hotel, that was also a tasty place to visit.
Chris L — Google review
Pretty average hotel. Not much else in Pisa other than the tower which is somewhat far from the hotel despite having a nearby buss. There was construction going on outside our room that was loud. Litterly felt like someone standing by our window. Not sure if the aircon worked. But the service was nice.
Emanuel L — Google review
It's a lovely hotel, a short taxi ride from the airport. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable, and the breakfast is plentiful. There is a local bus service into the town just outside the hotel, and it runs every 10 to 15 minutes. Pisa has so much to offer over and above the leaning tower, which is stunning. There's an arboretum, museums and so many wonderful restaurants. There's also a regular train to Florence, which takes an hour, so that's an easy day out. All of it is well recommended.
Ann D — Google review
The worst hotel of our trip. We stayed in about 5 hotels whilst in Italy and this was awful. If you want a good quiet nights sleep don’t bother to stay here. Constant buzzing from something in the bathroom which is so loud that wakes you up. The walls are thin and you can hear everything. The cleaners come shouting and yapping at each other at 0730 in the morning which is ridiculous. I’d never stay at this hotel again. The hotel is about 30 mins bus ride from the centre which isn’t close. The room had a musky smell and it’s right near the main road where you can’t have a window open as there’s so much traffic noise.
Sam L — Google review
Wonderful hotel only 2km from the leaning tower. The staff were super friendly and the rooms were really nice and modern also quite spacious. Breakfast spread would also really nice .
Tony H — Google review
A little too far from the town centre for us. The hotel could do with a bit of modernisation, but it was fine for a couple of nights
Malcolm B — Google review
Really not sure how this is classed as a 4 star. Stayed for a quick stop over before our next place in Italy, so it was cheap for that purpose. Also ate in the restaurant and the food was awful

Hotel
The Royal Victoria Hotel in Pisa offers a charming experience with its understated rooms and suites, some featuring antique furnishings and river views. Steeped in history since the 1800s, this distinguished 3-star hotel has welcomed illustrious travelers and hosted renowned figures. Located just 400 meters from Piazza dei Miracoli, it provides air-conditioned rooms within a short walk of the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.
A bit worn around the edges, but that only adds to its unique charm. There's something truly special about staying in the same hotel that once hosted so many historical figures and great European writers. The atmosphere is full of character. Breakfast was tasty, the location is perfect, right in the heart of the city and you can even walk to the airport in about 30 minutes. Definitely check out the terrace on warmer days, it's small but makes a lovely impression. Highly recommended! P.S. I'd recommend bringing some earplugs. It's a lively area and nights can get a bit noisy.
Dominika — Google review
Great location and friendly staff but rooms have been neglected for decades. Mattresses are barely more than bare springs at this point, the toilet was running constantly, windows had no sealing so every noise from the busy street (with drunk folks passing by yelling til 3am) was clearly heard. Breakfast was sparse but fine. Location is great, building has great old world charm (or at least did at one point...) but that's about all it's got going for it.
Jonathan B — Google review
Stunning , amazing, beautiful. The definition of quirky , A working historic hotel. If there are any negatives by ubiquitous modern standards , they should be ignored. Anyone who thinks they are present is in the wrong place , go to a travel lodge you’ll love it!. The world needs more places like this and less people who can’t appreciate what it represents and is preserving.
Bob P — Google review
Positive: - walking distance (15min to the tower) - right by the river front - relatively cheap - friendly front desk Negative: - rooms are tiny, most don't have any view - not only completely unrenovated in the past 20 years but also dirt in all corners. It's safe to say this hotel has seen better decades. - black mold in the shower - our room door has a slit so big that all the sound from the hallway got in. - breakfast not recommended
Katalogue — Google review
The location of Royal Victoria Hotel is excellent. It's just a 15-minute walk from the central station and right next to the river! Breakfast is included and quite good, with a decent selection. The cakes and fruit tarts were delicious, and you can order coffee from the staff as well. However, the room was very old. The air conditioning didn’t work at first, and we had to call staff to fix it. It also make constant noise throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. The bed was quite saggy and uncomfortable, and some of the tiles in the room were loose. Staying at the hotel was almost like stepping back in time. However, the room condition definitely need improvement.
Y T — Google review
Prime location! Right on the river, gorgeous view! Super easy to walk around Pisa. The hotel style is beautiful. We unfortunately had some trouble sleeping because of the bars around but that nothing the hotel can control. The staff was super kind and spoke english very well. We used the private parking and it was nice. Overall amazing, I recommend!
Camille L — Google review
Staff are helpful, unfortunately they work in a hotel that looks like it has had no investment since it was built. Window's that don't open, and when closed they don't make a seal, also the door has gaps around it so you can hear everything in the hallway. Plaster is flaking, mould in bathroom, what looks like water leaking on ceiling. Three fans instead of an a/c. A shower head that doesn't match the wall holder, so it won't sit properly. Lack of hot water. A tiny TV, and two single beds pushed together do not magically make a double bed. Breakfast selection was good, coffee horrible but the helpful staff will make you an espresso when asked.
Peter H — Google review
Wonderful vintage hotel with lovely personnel. Beautiful room with beautiful view over the river. What the hotel may lack in modernity it gains in atmosphere and character. Excellent location.

Hotel
Hotel Moderno Pisa is a family-run 2-star hotel located less than 1.4 km from the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. The simple rooms offer a comfortable stay, and guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast in the charming dining area. The hotel features entertainment activities, a bar, and is conveniently situated near the city center. While some shared facilities are basic, the friendly staff and convenient location make it an ideal choice for travelers looking for a cozy accommodation option in Pisa.
Great value! Simple room with a small balcony, bathroom and AC. It is an older building so the walls are a bit thin and it can get very noisy in the morning. It's a few minutes from the train station and the couple that runs it is lovely! They helped us out getting a room late after midnight on a holiday weekend and gave us awesome tips for exploring the city. A light breakfast with fresh coffee was included as well.
NSS — Google review
Super friendly staff, good location, the room was clean. We stayed for 2 nights, each day they cleaned the room and even changed the towels. The breakfast is easy but it is enough to eat - toasts with butter and cheese, coffee, flakes and yoghurt. As for the noise from the railway station please be sure you've chosen this hotel consciously as the staff are doing their job very well and have nothing to do with the noise. And there are no elevator please keep it in mind. It would be great to have some hooks in the bedroom in order to hang the towels
Darya D — Google review
This is officially a 2-star hotel, but I’d give it 4. The staff were absolutely amazing — always smiling, super helpful, and they even let us store our luggage after checkout since our flight was later in the day. That kind of welcome makes a big difference when you arrive in a new city. Check-in was smooth too. Just note: you can’t take your key outside. You leave it at the 24/7 desk and pick it up when you come back, which worked fine. The room itself was really clean, and I’d recommend going for the en-suite bathroom. The main downside is the noise. The walls are paper-thin, so you hear everything — other guests, hallway noise, and traffic outside (cars, motorbikes). I’m a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me much, but it could be annoying for light sleepers. Breakfast was underwhelming: just toast, jam, butter, and coffee. But at least the coffee was really good, made on a proper barista machine. Overall: clean, cheap, reliable, with amazing staff. For the price, it’s hard to beat.
Jean C — Google review
The staff is incredibly kind, but our room was very cold, especially at night. We asked to turn up the heat but they first said they cant turn it on due to the other guests so they gave us more blankets. The blankets couldnt heat up the air so both of us get cold, after we asked some heat again, they said they cant turn up the heat till middle of november so for the last day we got an infra heat. With that was much better the night. The cleaning staff likes to slam the doors, which always wakes us up because of the thin walls. The breakfast was a bit poor for us, but the coffee was tasty. The wifi sometimes didnt work. For summer time it could be a best choice for sleep, but not in autuum.
Anita S — Google review
This is a budget hotel conveniently located close to Pisa Centrale railway station and the airport. The staff are very friendly and professional, the beds are comfortable and the towels are amazingly soft! Although the hotel backs on to the railway, the double glazed windows mean there's very little noise from outside. HOWEVER the rooms themselves are barely soundproofed, so you can hear everything from neighbouring rooms and those above you. If you need to get up early, bring earplugs. It's a short walk from the hotel into the centre where you'll find all the restaurants and bars, and the airport is about a 15 minute walk along a clearly marked path.

Very good location, close to the train station. The airport is about a 20-minute walk from here. It’s also not that far to the city center. Friendly staff, simple but good breakfast. The room and the (shared) bathroom were also very clean. I highly recommend this place if you are staying in Pisa!

This is a budget hotel in a good location for transport links. We stayed one night at each end of our tuscany holiday. The airport is a 15 minute walk. The train station is 5 minutes away; however, the tracks run just behind the hotel so it is noisy from early in the morning - remember to bring ear plugs! At a gently pace, it’s a 15 minute walk up the high street to the river, and about 25 minutes to the tower and duomo. The couple that run the hotel are lovely, and remembered our faces from our first night when we checked in for our final night. We would recommend this hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay (you don’t need more than this in Pisa really anyway).

Hotel Touring is a straightforward property located in the center of Pisa, offering warm rooms and a free breakfast buffet. It is conveniently situated close to major attractions such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Museo delle Sinopie. Business travelers will find amenities like free Wi-Fi, access to a business center, and proximity to public parking. The hotel's staff are highly praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, making it an excellent choice for a short stay in Pisa.
The property is ranked 4 star but the service and the room is very poor. I booked a double room for 1 adult and 2 toddlers. I was given a single room with 2 single bed joined together to create a double bed. It was very uncomfortable cause the bed keep shifting and I had to keep pushing it back together to prevent my kids from falling. The room was very hot and when I asked the staff to provide a remote to on the Air condition he said the AC is not working. My kids were bitten all over their body by mosquitoes cause they've got mosquitoes net and since the AC is not working had to sleep with the window open. The room was very small and uncomfortable. There was no toilet roll in the room and had to get one in the morning cause my child needed the toilet. I couldn't sleep because there was a terrible noise coming from the mini bar fridge in the room. I am so disappointed because the hotel has a good potential due to the position. Very close to train station and to the airport. My disappointment was also experiencing the ignorance of the owner of the hotel who heard me speaking Italian and asked me what country I am from. I confirmed that I am Italian and she went ahead and said that she was asking as she could only see a black woman. I didn't escalate it due to my children being around and didn't want to give her ignorance any attention. I was charged 100 euro per night plus extra 15 euro for staying tax. The property is not worth the money and star. The pictures are deceiving as the room and hotel doesn’t look like the pictures online.

*****Don’t***** Do a favor to yourself - DONT order room at this hotel. Very dirty hotel. I ordered a room with my wife, The room (number 205) smelling Terrible, wall covered by black mold on the wall, air conditions is not working (when outside 30 degree Celsius) After I complain for 15 minutes in the reception and hotel worker agreed that there is impossible to live in this room , they agree to move my wife and me to other room(number 503), the second room was with full of ants at the shower. It’s took more than 3 hours till they return the money I paid. Please see attached pictures and videos for it

Well-located hotel, however, the upkeeping of the hotel in general, is pitiful. The room is beyond words to express my concerns: DIRTY, COVERED IN BLACK MOLD, BATHROOM FLOODS EVERYWHERE, NO ACESS TO AC., BUG SMEAR EVERYWHERE INCLUDE CURTAINS AND WALLS, CUSTOMER SERVICE NON EXISTENT- MORE LIKE A BULLY IF ANYTHING. You better of to sleep on your car, if availability is an issue somewhere else.

NIGHTMARE. If I was able to give 0 stars, I would. This place is HORROR! The smell when and the heath when we entered the room was the worst. We wanted to put on the airco and saw molt and wet spot under the airco (see picture). Not even safe and Healthy to sleep. The worst came after that, we went to the bathroom. The shower was full of molt, Just to trow up from (see picture). We told the guy and he said 'ooh yes a bit of molt' SO AWFULL! We did not sleep there that night, PLEASE TO NOT GO THERE !!!

Upon arrival the woman at the desk informed us there had been a mistake and while we booked and paid for a superior double room we'd been put down for a room with two single beds and she would find us another, which ended up being a "double room" which was just two single beds pushed together. There was also a blood like stain near the skirting board. When we checked out a different woman informed us of the city tax which we knew about already from the booking, but then informed us it was cash only and we were told when we checked in, which was never mentioned. After we told her we would have to do it by card she begrudgingly took it and muttered how "it's always like this" and had a scowl the rest of the conversation. Really unprofessional for an error on their part not to mention once they wanted it in cash beforehand

I would NOT recommend this hotel! It is a two star hotel and did not appear to be in a very safe area of Pisa even though it is by the train station. I had to cut my visit short due to this place. The shower connection and door was broken and would flood the bathroom if you did not hold the door while showering. The dining area is tiny and the whole place could do with a major revamp as regards furniture and decor. The bed was so hard! The floors were crumbling because of previous water damage. (The photos tell all). Also full of mosquitoes. While I enjoy staying in budget and cheap accommodation, this hotel was not up to 3 star standard. Also if you do go, make sure you choose the refund option (if available) so you can get your money back if you’re not happy. The only positive was that the Wi-Fi worked without any problems.

I got an e-mail that my reservation was cancelled at 9pm a day beafore visit. Suppossedly some problem with credit card. I made a phone call an hour later to Ask what is happening, I was told that my room was already booked by somebody else. I wish to know earlier about stuff like this. Terrible client service. I definitely do not reccomed.

I'd say its 2 star hotel rather than 3 star. Very, very noisy. Room walls made out of drywall are not soundproofed at all, you can hear very clearly person in room next to your talking, farting or burping yikes. Shower in a standard room is ridiculously small, you'd have trouble turning around even with anorexia. Hotel interior overall looks very old and badly finished, room furniture might remember mussolini. Only good side is location and very friendly staff. Overpriced place.

Extended stay hotel
Hotel Il Giardino is a cozy 3-star lodging located in Pisa, offering humble rooms with minibars and free Wi-Fi. The hotel provides quick access to the famous Piazza del Duomo and is just a short walk from the grand marble-striped Cathedral of Pisa and Knights' Square. While some guests found the room decent and appreciated its convenient location near the leaning tower of Pisa, others were disappointed by maintenance issues such as broken furniture and dirty facilities.
some people complained about mold, i didnt see any, bathroom was clean and room was nice, they have a shared terrace and very good prices

Worst hotel I've stayed in. Staff were so rude. I arrived and got "NAME" "PASSPORT" "YOU'RE IN ROOM X" and that was it! I had to change room as the ceiling started leaking. This happened while I was out and apparently cleaning staff reported it. Management had arranged a room change (to their credit!) but no one communicated with me that they had already switched my room- cue two staff having heated conversation right in front of me. In second room, there was a brown stain on the blanket/duvet when I got there and despite the change in sheets this was not changed/replaced. The bathroom in my second room had a leaking ceiling fan. Was literally dripping with a massive damp patch around the fan. The rooms are so run down & such a shame as with a little bit of investment they would be great. I had an IKEA nightstand (nothing wrong with IKEA!) but it was all scratched and the veneer was clipped and damaged around the edge. They need to watch some episodes of hotel inspector to get some ideas on how some small changes could actually make a massive difference. Even the lighting is terrible! Cold and glaring. I stay in a hotel as a place to put my head down. It can be basic. In fact sometimes that's preferred. But I do expect the staff to say more than 1-word sentences. Heaven forbid smile! Right now they are communicating "I hate my job!" I definitely expect the room to be clean & without structural deficits. I'm shocked it's rated as 3 star!

Me and my partner recently stayed here on a trip to Pisa. The location couldn’t be any more perfect. It’s right next door to the leaning tower and if you want to skip the rush and get pictures it’s great. However, our room had no working air conditioning in 26 degree heat and no windows. Plus it’s very close to a hospital so all night we could hear ambulances very loudly. We didn’t sleep much and overall we wasn’t impressed with the room at all. Luckily we only stayed for one night.

This hotel might have been nice 2 or 3 years ago but the current owners have not maintained it. The furniture is in tatters, the bathrooms are moldy and when we opened the refrigerator to place our recently purchased cheese, there was a box of roach killer in it. We stayed because we had already paid, but I would not have done so otherwise. The staff was not friendly. They advertise a patio and bar, but they no longer operate the bar and the patio is dirty and unkempt, with many full ashtrays scattered throughout. As although the location was good, there are much better choices nearby.

Terrible experience. Walked out after 10 minutes. Don't ruin your holiday by booking to stay here. The location is great, but unfortunately, that's the only good thing. Paid nearly £400 for 4 nights. Its not a 3 star its a 1 star hotel that's dirty, falling apart and with rude staff who when we spoke to them about the dirty bad smell that gets stuck in your throat, stains on sheets, broken door handles, mould and dirt in shower room head boards peeling and flaked all over the pillows, bed sinking to the floor, shutter lock broken.... the list went on. They didn't care, its in un habitable condition. We asked for a full refund as we would need to find somewhere else to stay, but they just laughed and said no, then ushered us out the entrance, then closed the door behind us. We booked with booking.com and have tried to resolve this, but no joy. They needed to talk to the hotel to confirm what we have said and didn't end up staying, but the hotel has refused to talk to booking.com and has hung up on them every time they call.

It was a decent room. The location was the selling point, less than 5 mins walk to the leaning tower of Pisa, so we reached the tower early and took some pictures without a lot of people around. The hotel is not accessible, you need to climb a flight of stairs and another 2-3 stairs to get to the rooms. The service was good. We asked if we could check out later than 11 and were told it would be okay to check out by 11:45, we ended up not needing the extra time. But we could enjoy and relax around the tower knowing it would be ok to reach later. They also sell water for 1 Euro per bottle so you don't have to go out to buy water. There is McDonald's Cafe right downstairs if you want to grab a quick snack.(No burgers or sandwiches). Again it was all about the location, location, location!

Awful place and staff The staff are beyond rude they shouted and slammed the door in our faces after bringing our concerns to there attention the smell was awful I cannot begin to describe it it clang to our clothing and hair after just a few minutes. The furniture was broken the floor was filthy, the nasty headboard was flaking off onto the ripped dirty bedding. A bed that hit the floor on sitting! The bathroom was also dirty and dripping in mould. This hotel is in dire need of a deep clean, and freshen up, it does not match the photos online supplied by the owner. They took our money said they didn’t we paid just under £400 to walk in get abused by the staff and have the door slammed on us, we connected bookings.com who tried to call the said hotel and the staff refused to talk to them which speaks volumes. We returned to try and resolve the situation and once again abused, the manager was laughing and shaking his head!! How they have 3 stars is beyond me I have stayed in cleaner hostels and camp sites. The location however was great just a shame nothing else matched it didn’t even come close.

Location is amazing. Steps from the tower--it will not disappoint. Hotel is small and dated but beds were comfortable and room was clean.. Breakfast was good, McDonald's was literally next door if you need a snack. We got up and walked 2 minutes to watch the sunrise over the tower of Pisa. Parking wise we parked in a per hour lot across the street until 2000, then moved our car to the free street parking.

The room was really clean ! If you arrive by car it's a good solution becuase the location have free parking inside it. The bathroom was clean also the towels. The host is near at the centre of Pisa. Only 4 km, 10 minute by car. I advise this host!

The hotel has 2 buildings -we were staying in the one that is about 200 m far away from the main building. The street is rather quiet and it is possible to park the car directly in the street. You can also bring it to the main building that has a gate that closes at night. The rooms are decorated in country style, but they have a very little furniture (just a bed, small table with a chair and a big wardrobe). The absence of carpets and curtains make the rooms a bit noisy, as the echo brings noises from other rooms. The air conditioning unit was old and very noisy. They don't offer any breakfast, but you can get coffee and croissants from the vending machine.

The Hotel Pisa Tower Plaza is a contemporary and relaxed hotel offering excellent facilities and services. While it may not be convenient for tourists without a car due to transportation challenges in Pisa, the helpful staff can assist with arranging taxis. The hotel is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from Piazza dei Miracoli, providing stunning views of the Leaning Tower. Guests can enjoy air-conditioned rooms with modern furnishings and parquet floors.
Door to the porch is a bit hard to open, AC unit's control is unreadable... But it works. Some other minor stuff. The hotel could benefit from some maintenance. But all the important things are working. Hot water in the shower, rooms and toilet is clean, beds are nice. The pool has a bar next to it for refreshments. Good for when you return from a day of sightseeing, or just want a day of sunbathing. Reasonable prices at the restaurant and the bars. The hotel is not in tip top shape, but i think it's good value for money. The leaning tower is a 15 minute walk. Can see it from the lobby.

The hotel had a feeling of being a bit dated and needing some love. Our room and many parts of the hotel needed some maintenance and upkeep. The bed and sofa in the room were nice but most of the room looked untidy. The shower looked like it had a piece of the drain section missing and generally needed a deep clean. The balcony door wouldn't shut easily (slight worry from a security perspective too). The room seemed clean but the balcony area felt like it needed a deep clean and sweep, so we didn't spend any time out there. Air con only seemed to work in the entrance section of the room and not at all in the bedroom Overall, I really don't understand how the hotel is advertised as 5 star. I've only ever stayed in 4 star or lower accommodation and it felt 3 star at best. The photos of the standard of room were a lot nicer than our actual room. All staff were lovely, the hotel just feels understaffed and needing love. On a side note, slight frustration that we paid around €140 for the room 5 months in advance and we could've paid €85 for the same room the day before.

Excellent service in the hotel reception. Large rooms with a kingsize bed and sleeping sofa for the kids. Large fridge. Calm and cozy atmosphere and placement. A bit difficult to visit nearby supermarkets by foot. Read some reviews on beforehand about dirty rooms and bathroom facilities. We had the opposite experience. Clean rooms and bathrooms.

My AC was dripping water, so I called to ask the hotel to fix it, they told me that they’ll have people coming in to check. Nobody came after 40 minutes and i noticed that my AC was off, so I called again. I told him that nobody came, and they told me that they’ll send somebody again to give me some towels for the dripping water and that they turn the AC on. Nobody came. On top of that, the rooms did not have any kettle or bottled water. So we were dying of thirst the whole night. Additionally, they will not allow cup noodles to be eaten at the breakfast area, where there is hot water. Lastly, there were no still water and only sparkling water. Or if there was, it was not labeled. This hotel has been very disappointing. It is a three star at best.

I stayed at this hotel recently and was disappointed with the breakfast service. The staff at breakfast were not unpolite, and their attitude could definitely be improved. Additionally, food items were not refilled in a timely manner, and many dishes were empty for a long time. I hope management can look into improving the service and efficiency of the breakfast team.
Justin Y — Google review
Overpriced for the small town. Service is not very good, and breakfast is managed by a separate company, is good but there is a queue for the coffee machine and sometimes no fruit or very limited. Rooms are conftable but there small details that need attention. You have to walk 25 min to find and store, or 30 to Pisa tower, not very central. There are many events in the hotel so, sometimes is not quiet.

Definitely not a 5-star hotel, it is masquerading. It is still comfortable, has a nice pool, it’s clean and there’s lots of space to chill out. But there is no proper restaurant, no bar, no services like laundry or concierge. A good place to stay, but don’t expect much!

The spacious rooms are thoughtfully designed, featuring all essential amenities like a refrigerator and TV, ensuring comfort during your stay. An enchanting open-air garden on the second floor provides an ideal setting for evening conversations under the stars.
My experience at San Ranieri hotel&restaurants was wonderful. The receptionist was very polite and courteous. The atmosphere was full of cheerful colors. The thing I really liked about the restaurant was the open kitchen style, from where you can see the entire cooking process and this gives the customer a calming effect. Bis. Truly Exceptional Hospitality! I just had the most incredible experience at a local hotel in Pisa, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you all! As someone who typically stays in global chain hotels for their safety, ethics, and facilities, I was curious to see what the buzz was about this charming boutique hotel with outstanding reviews. From the moment I arrived, it felt like stepping into a little slice of heaven. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the staff were truly remarkable. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and happiness, providing a level of service I’ve rarely encountered, even in the finest global hotels. If I could give them a rating, it would be a resounding 10 out of 5! The atmosphere, the delightful people, and the delicious food all combined to create an unforgettable experience. Even if you’re accustomed to the luxury of five-star hotels, this boutique gem exceeds expectations in every way ( Just room AC correction required ). If you ever find yourself in Pisa, I wholeheartedly recommend giving this hotel a try. You won’t be disappointed! Thanks Francesco - you are truly the best hospitality professional.

This Hotel doesn’t deserve a 4 stars hotel . It’s the first time in all my life that I found an hotel charging his own costumers for using a fake swimming pool 10€ per person. Yes it’s fake , it’s smaller than my backyard swimming pool . The area is far from the PISA city center . The full building is full with negative energy,( there are some hotels when you inter them you fill joy 🤩 in the air , but this one when you inter you fill darkness and sadness ). For me I will never book again in this fake 4 stars hotel

The Safestay Pisa Hostel is a good place to stay in Pisa if you are looking for a safe and affordable place to sleep. The hostel has dorms and private rooms, as well as a communal kitchen and bar. It is located close to the central station, making it easy to get around town.
Great hostel, very helpful staff. Food very good and value for money. Location is very good for train station and the airport. Main attractions are also only 20mins stroll past shops bars and restaurants. Recommended 👍🏼

It's a good place to stay but for no more than 3 days; the bunk beds move a lot and it is difficult to have a peaceful bedtime. Also, they don't have kitchen so you'll need to eat out or bring ready-to-eat food. They clean the room everyday. The food and beverages are overpriced, but they taste nice. The staff was always gentle.

You cannot check in before 15. They charge 3 euros if you want to leave your bag before 15 to be able to walk around. I had to wait 2 hours in the reception area not so nice when you are tired after travel. Never experienced on a hostel you have to pay for leaving bagage before check in. That was a big minus. The reception area is good though and it is like a shop/restaurant/bar area there. They sell pretty much what you need. There is no kitchen and if you just want boiled water for tea they can do it for you but you have to pay for the mug... The staff is nice and welcoming. The rooms are a bit old style and they have lockers watch out so it is locked though... The bed is comfortable but there are no lights with every bed unfortunately. It is a walking distance from airport which was great and to the city center about 15-20 minutes. And to leaning tower about 30 minute walk.

This review of safestay Pisa centrale is a tale of two extremes: on the positive side, the experience was immediately elevated by the phenomenal team. The staff are truly outstanding - incredibly friendly and attentive, easily deserving a five-star rating for hospitality alone. Furthermore, the property itself is big and spotless clean, and the presence of a lovely, large outdoor patio is a definite bonus for relaxation during the day. However, the positive aspects are unfortunately overshadowed by several critical drawbacks, particularly concerning guest comfort, value, and, most importantly, safety. Firstly, the hostel's decision not to provide a communal guest kitchen is a major oversight for a value-focused stay. This lack of self-catering facilities forces guests to either exclusively purchase the hostel's food or rely on local restaurants, which quickly diminishes the perceived value for money. Secondly, the location, while central, is fundamentally disruptive to sleep. The hostel is situated on a very busy, noisy street in the front and has active train lines directly at the back. For anyone seeking a quiet night's rest, the constant noise pollution from both sources makes a restful stay virtually impossible. Most critically, the premises pose significant safety hazards. I, being 70 years old, sadly tripped on and unforseen hazard on the floor and fell. This indicates a serious maintenance issue that needs immediate attention to prevent future, potentially more serious accidents. FINAL VERDICT: While the staff and cleanliness are commendable, the combination of disruptive noise, lack of a basic amenity like a guest kitchen, and the presence of tripping hazards makes this accomodation poor value for money. In my opinion, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend Safestay Pisa Centrale and will unfortunately not be returning. The core issues of safety and sleep quality must be addressed for this location to be a viable option.

Nice and clean Hostel. It's a former hotel, so you get ensuite bathroom,.good elevator. Staff are really good. Very helpful and friendly 🙏 No kitchen to cook which is unfortunate.. There are free lockers, but charges for; left luggage, bike storage etc. But it was cheap when I stayed. Very close to the airport (15-20 minute walk). Easy to get to the restaurants etc but it also has it's own bar / Cafeteria. 24h Pasta/ Reception. So good amenities. Pizza etc Could do with a soap holder in the shower, small light/shelf in the bunk beds, and a comfy sofa in the communal area. But it's still a very good hostel. Very good value. Great hostel, with a nice enough atmosphere. It isn't a very social hostel, so don't expect to connect with a load of people. Location was great, with everything in walking distance. Safety could be a bit better. Anyone can walk into the communal area, doors to the dorms don't automatically lock: only if you lock it yourself with the key. Lockers need a thicker padlock to properly lock, with a thin one or a flexible one you may as well not lock it. Location is right by a busy road and near the train tracks though, so expect a bit of noise during the day/night! Except for the safety I'm absolutely satisfied and happy with this hostel!

Not a very good hostel. Your money is probably spent better elsewhere. Everything here costs extra and some basic facilities are lacking. It costs an extra €3 just to park a bike where there is a large yard with no constraint of space (charging extra for sustainable transportation makes me sad). The room was very basic, but generally fine. However, the bathroom had no toilet paper, no shower soap or a place to hold a bar of soap, which made showering difficult. Also, the motion sensor light turned off 3 times during my shower. The bathroom was not clean and did not have any hand towels. The common room is nice, but is lacking a kitchen or place to store food. Overall, disappointed by this hostel and would not stay again.

Check-In Experience: The worst and dodgy, they asked us to fill a form with our personal information by hand instead of the usual way of checking our passport and scanning. This piece of paper could end up somewhere or someone who might uses our personal information (passport, dob, name). They are also asking for a card on hold for a deposit - never experienced this in my entire life staying at a hostel. Bedroom: Booked a private room for 6, only 4 stayed. Room was so small even with only the 4 of us, there were literally no room left to move. The AC/Heater doesnt turn on. The window is hard to close. The room feels smelly and damped. The bed are small and shite. The pillows are thin its as if I am not sleeping with any. I had to use 3 pillows or use the other blankets as pillows to have a 'feel'. The chargers are located in a weird spot for your to charge. The bunk beds dont feel sturdy. The bathroom: Small damp bathroom. The WC is located literally beside the sink, which gives you little room to wiggle and even hard for someone to just stand. The shower space itself is extremely small, its not even a 1x1 space. The shower door felt loose. The shower pressure is slow to none. The photos used of the bathroom IS definitely not the one youre getting. The photos show a newly renovated ones, whilst we got a stuck drained, yellow colored sink, and a shower that takes us 10+ minutes just because. The most recent pictures shown on Google Maps is what you get (and I mean the old bad ones). I dont have any pictures as I dont see a reason to waste my memory on this property.

Nestled in the heart of Pisa, Grand Hotel Bonanno offers a serene retreat just a short stroll from the iconic Leaning Tower. This refined hotel features airy and comfortable rooms and suites, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast at the on-site restaurant, which also serves delightful Tuscan cuisine for dinner. With convenient amenities like luggage storage, safety deposit boxes, and reserved parking available for a fee, your stay is made hassle-free.
A hidden gem in Pisa with exceptional service and peaceful location We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Bonanno. The service was truly outstanding. From check-in to check-out, the staff guided us at every step and genuinely cared about making our stay smooth and enjoyable. The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the Leaning Tower, yet it’s slightly set back from the main tourist streets. This gave us a welcome sense of quiet and calm, especially after a full day of sightseeing. Breakfast and parking were included, which was a great bonus. The breakfast was simple but fresh, with both hot and continental options. The hotel is located near the train tracks, but the soundproofing is excellent. We didn’t hear a thing. Our room was clean, complete, and comfortable, without unnecessary extras. It was exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great value, outstanding hospitality, and a peaceful spot just minutes from the heart of Pisa.

I liked the size of the room, but there was nothing else provided except for a shower cap — not what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. The towels were changed daily and the room was cleaned, which was good. However, the hotel is definitely not a real 4-star, more like a 3-star property. The room was very cold. I was told that they couldn’t turn on the heating because of local regulations, but the ventilation seemed to blow cold air anyway. The staff were not particularly welcoming — it often felt like you were disturbing them unless you were giving tips. The breakfast also didn’t match the standard of a 4-star hotel. If you have other options, I would recommend choosing a different hotel.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of May 2025. Initially we arrived early and they took our suitcases for safe keeping until our room was ready (as advertised 3pm) We came back at just after 3 and the room was not ready, and this seemed to be the case for several other guests, but we finally had our key at approx 3.30pm The hotel was nice, and the room was a basic but clean double room. Our room was closest (on our floor) to the train line and yes it's noticeable, but didn't ruin our sleep. We had breakfast included in our price and the selection wasn't huge, but tied us over until lunch time. We picked this hotel based on a variety of factors, proximity to the Tower, Train station (which we used to travel to Florence on our second day) and importantly price - and would visit again should we return to Pisa. Side note, the hotel also have a system which alerts local taxi services, which we utilized to get back to the airport, with the taxi arriving 4 minutes after requesting it.

Very nice and cozy hotel. The staff were helpful and kind. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the air conditioner worked perfectly. They also offer a good breakfast with a variety of options. I stayed there for 5 days, and everything was good. I have nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend this hotel. However, I missed two things: first, there was no napkin box in the room; and second, there were no proper coffee cups—only plastic ones were provided, which are not ideal or healthy for drinking hot coffee.

Probably by accident i was charged for tiramisu and 2 coffees which we didn't ordered and eat during ma family dinner. I didn't pay attention enough when bill was presented and paid. Overall Hotel and service are very good but I had a little biter sweet feeling after i found it on my bill at the airport.

Great location in the heart of pisa, roughly a 10 minute walk to the leaning tower surrounded by amazing restaurants. 5 minute walk to the nearest train station and supermarket. the staff are so lovely and the hotel is very up to date on cleanliness and hygiene. I will say tho the rooms definitely have a bit more of a old decor and dated vibe to them and one of the plug outlets didnt work however everything in the room was to top standard would definitely stay here again. wonderful experience.

Hotel Villa Primavera in Pisa is a simple yet functional 2-star hotel with gardens, offering complimentary breakfast and parking. The hotel provides quick access to attractions like Battistero Baptistery and is within walking distance of Piazza dei Miracoli and Borgo Stretto. The old-style hotel has undergone renovations on the first and second floors, providing clean and comfortable accommodations.
Very nice place to stay. Good location. Nice staff.

This is a good basic 2 star hotel. Friendly staff, it’s clean, and there’s even a hairdryer in the bathroom. The breakfast (at extra cost) is pretty poor but take it because there are only two cheap cafe/bars nearby and neither was open in the morning as posted. The hotel location in a quiet mainly residential area is not conducive to walking. It’s at least 500 metres to any bar/cafe/restaurant in the evening and most close before 7pm. The tower is about a twenty minute walk through depressing streets and the central area is even further.
Peter B — Google review
I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. The staff does not speak English, making communication very difficult, and they consistently ignored phone calls — even in urgent situations. They were also dishonest and attempted to charge extra money without clear explanation. The customer service was incredibly rude, and overall, it was a very unpleasant and stressful experience.
Kristiāna — Google review
The place was very clean and well kept. The owner was extremely kind, and we really appreciated being able to check in late at night and park right at the hotel. However, in the entrance area is a small aquarium with two large fish inside. The tank is far too small for them, which feels cruel. They should either be given a much bigger aquarium or moved to a more suitable environment.

The room was tidy and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable, too. However, we didn't have a remote control for the air conditioning. We reported this to reception, but still didn't get one.

We stayed 2 nights. We had to sleep with the window open because of the bad smell that came from the carpet. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice, however it was broken and you had to use one hand to handle the shower. The breakfast is ok.

The bed was in regular size, but the bathroom was a miniature, designed for midgets. It was very noisy all night, there is a police station or hospital next to it. Don't expect to sleep well. Parking was very small.

Hotel Terminus Plaza is a modest property with simple rooms and a bar. It's conveniently located within walking distance from the train station, making it an ideal choice for travelers relying on public transportation. The rooms are clean and come with amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, satellite TV, and a minibar. Guests can opt for the breakfast buffet served in the room.
I stayed here for one night last night and was really impressed. The hotel has a nice mix of retro charm and modern comfort, which is increasingly rare. My single room was quiet and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning (much appreciated on the hottest night of the year!), lovely sheets, and a nice balcony. I had a really good night’s sleep. The gentleman at reception was very welcoming, friendly and efficient when I arrived late, and I got a good feeling about the place straight away. The room was super clean, had plenty of storage and a decent-sized fridge, which would be useful for a longer stay. I didn’t have breakfast, but there was a very appealing smell of fresh coffee and pastries when I went downstairs in the morning. This will definitely be my go-to hotel when I fly into Pisa late and need to get to Florence early the next day.

Completely different than advertised. Beyond hot rooms and they smell of bug spray. We were transferred but it really isn't good. So disappointed in what should have been adequate but turned out to be piss poor. Adding an update: Our first room was very hot. I explained to staff that the AC was not working properly but they insisted it would be fine after 15 - 20 minutes. We went to dinner and returned 3 1/2 hours later to a hot room. So the hotel version of working AC is not accurate. Room 2 was much better AC wise but still had to sleep with no sheet to stay cool so your call.

This hotel placed a very good location near to the station and about 20 min walk to the tower everything is nearby. The staff was very kind and helpful. Reception is 0-24 and always kind even if its midnight. They allowed to late check out so we can which was a big help to us! The room was clean the AC is working well! If you are in pisa for a short trip, this is the place what you need!

If I could give zero stars, I would. We had an extremely disappointing experience. The male staff at the front desk had a terrible attitude — he even slammed the door loudly. We had booked the wrong date and asked if there were rooms available. He said yes but only told us the bed number and check-out time. He didn’t explain any house rules or provide basic information. 1. There was a mini bar in the room. In some hotels we’ve stayed in, it’s free, but this staff didn’t mention if we had to pay or not. There was no sign or label at all. We had to ask first to find out. 2. We checked in on June 3. The room was extremely hot, so we asked the staff about the air conditioning. He said it was not available (even though there was an A/C unit in the room). However, we spoke to other guests staying that same night, and they said they received a remote control and had working A/C in their rooms. So why were we denied access? 3. On the Booking.com listing, it clearly stated that the room includes a hairdryer, air conditioning, and a telephone. We had none of these. 4. They only provided us with a sheet, so we went to ask for a blanket. The male staff’s attitude was absolutely unacceptable. While it’s true that our English isn’t perfect, he also spoke with a strong accent and we couldn’t even tell if he was speaking English or Italian. He showed frustration, spread his arms out, and even said “Mamma Mia” sarcastically. Is this really how you treat guests? He said “It’s summer,” as an excuse for not giving us a blanket. But if it’s too hot for blankets, why does the room have an A/C that we are not allowed to use? It’s completely contradictory. We understand that hotels in different countries may operate differently, and we are respectful of that. But we simply want to be treated fairly. Just because we’re not fluent in English doesn’t mean we deserve poor service. I even tried using a translation app to communicate more clearly, but the staff obviously didn’t care to help. Is asking for a blanket such a terrible crime? He could have just explained things politely. Instead, he slammed the door and acted impatient. Why treat guests this way? It completely ruined our day and left a terrible impression of our first trip to Italy. Honestly, if you can avoid staying here, don’t. The only advantage is that it’s close to the train station — I really can’t think of anything else good

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life. I was supposed to check in on time, but the manager made me wait for half an hour outside. We had our luggage with us in the heat. After checking in, I found out that she couldn't speak English at all and used cleaning as an excuse to kick us out. Our bathroom is not ready as we found hair and stains by the basin. we had to ask them to come and clean again while we wait. The air conditioning is not working as the manager refused to give us the control , which left me speechless. After we left, the email with the general manager even made insulting and discrimatory remarks. I have never been so angry and disappointed in my life.

😐 Decent hotel, but the area feels unsafe at night The hotel itself is acceptable for a 3-star — clean, basic, and relatively close to Pisa Centrale Station. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast is decent. However, the surrounding area feels unsafe and unpleasant, especially at night. Even though the location is central, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you plan to explore the city on foot after dark.

For one night it was perfect. Only 5 minutes from the train station, big and nice breakfast buffet. Clean and nice rooms.

On June 3rd, 2025, we arrived at this hotel and made a last-minute booking (we had mistakenly booked for the same date next year, and it was non-refundable). At check-in, we were only verbally told it was a double room for €135 — no receipt, no information given. The room was extremely hot, the A/C couldn’t be used, and the remote control was missing. Opening the window did nothing. We asked reception, and they just replied “NO,” with no further explanation. We were never informed that: • Water and drinks in the minibar were not free (there was no sign or notice, we only found out after asking) • The A/C unit existed but no remote was provided • No receipt was given Eventually, another guest kindly lent us their remote so we could turn it on. That night, we found the bed only had a sheet — no blanket. When we asked the reception, communication was difficult, and the staff even exclaimed “Mamma mia!”, which felt very unprofessional and disrespectful. In the end, we carried the blankets up ourselves. On top of that, we discovered two wrapped pillows and what looked like a mattress cover(?) under the closet. We’re not sure if they were backup items or left over from a previous guest, but they were definitely not cleaned up properly. They claimed it was summer, so no blanket was provided — fair enough. But why not allow us to use the A/C? For €135 a night ,there was no comfort, no transparency, and no basic respect. Terrible stay. Absolutely not recommended. 👎

It was a good option for a more budget-friendly accommodation. The staff was friendly and helpful and I'm glad that I could leave my luggage there for a few hours upon check in. The room looked like in the pictures. The location was good and close to various local attractions and my favorite thing had to be the traditional green-wood windows. I'd recommend this for someone who doesn't want to spend too much money for the accommodation, but still wants to have the basics covered.

The location is top - close to lots of restaurants and cafes and less than 10 minutes walk to the tower and 18 to train station. The rooms - when we walked in the small of mould was overpowering and it was very dark, window tiny with closed shutter, beds were weird but comfortable. Furniture old and outdated. There was a kettle but no cups, or coffee/tea. If you have before 3pm check-in there is no one at reception. However the receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Also no wi-fi in rooms, only in tiny dark lobby. We stayed 3 nights only went in for shower and to sleep there. We chose it based on location which we were happy about.

This is NOT a 3 star hotel. It's very outdated and not that clean. The bathroom had light brown hair from a previous guest all over. The rooms are very tiny. Only good for solo travelers. Also, there was no duvet on the bed, just another sheet to use as a blanket. The AC is very strong though and the location is great. Staff is very nice. Good for 1-2 nights.

The hotel staff is the only thing worthy of praise. As for the rest, the hotel is of low quality. Cleanliness levels are low. The rooms are old fashioned. Towels and bedspreads have stains. The charming Italian pensione offers warm rooms, some with shared bathrooms, and showcases local artwork throughout the building. Guests have praised the comfortable beds and excellent value of this clean and funky hotel.

Perfect location, just steps from the Leaning Tower, other attractions and restaurants! The building is old, so the rooms have that vintage Tuscan charm with mountain & rooftop views. Rooms are basic and small (no kettle, locker in wardrobe or extras), no lift in the building, but good for a short 1–2 night stay if you’re mostly out exploring.

Great vintage like rooms in the heart of Pisa. Short walking distance from Pisa tower and restaurants. Comfy clean bed sheets and towels. Shared bathroom but clean. The only downside is the wifi. We work as we travel so we had to use our own internet because wifi was always down. Apart from that, totally recommended!

Disappointing and careless, Stayed at Helvetia Tower Hotel and parked nearby, as suggested by staff. My car was broken into overnight. Only afterward did I learn the area is known for thefts. Wow! This was an absolute gem of a stay! Our family needed a little break after 3 days in Rome and we couldn't have wished for a better R&R😊. Stunning settings both inside (spacious well presented rooms) and outside with a gorgeous facade, location being a very short walk away to the main sights and being able to see the tower from both stylish windows... but we were particularly impressed by the staff!! From ladies at reception - Francesca, Marta and one other girl who were all exceptionally friendly and helpful with their great tips on various places around town, helping us with luggage and arranging a taxi, etc. While treated to some wonderdully endearing and awe-inspiring Cappucino and "kinder" topping creations by the ever hospitable breakfast attendant Giusy, with whom we have discovered to share a strong passion for felines😻, we were also entertained by a charming gentleman by the name of Kastriot, who also helped us plan ahead for our day! Overall, we have come to a conclusion that this not only has been a highlight of our Italy trip with the Adriatic cruise to follow, but will quite likely not be superseded by anything else in the forthcoming days! Exceptional on all counts💗 Korols from Aus

We stayed in a suite (two rooms and a lovely balcony) in Sept 2025. The rooms were very comfy and the only thing that made me give 4 instead of 5 is that we only had one small cupboard between us to hang our clothes (I'd have given 4.5 but Google won't let me). The location is excellent - literally a 5/6 minute walk to the tower. It's also just a 1 minute walk to a bus stop - take the +1 bus to and from the train station, along with the Pisa Mover from the airport. Couldn't be easier. Breakfast was a tasty buffet, with delicious pastries, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage, fruit and yoghurt. The staff are so friendly, too. If we're ever back in Pisa, we would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

My wife and I enjoyed five day in this remarkably nice and charming hotel. Old, well renovated classic Italian Villa. Very original. We really appreciated the personal engagement from the staff. They were so friendly and helpful with ideas for restaurants, bus routes and things to see in Pisa and surrounding areas. Tip top cleaning. Everything was sparkling clean and proper. It gave us a personal welcoming experience. The staff runs it as if a good old family traditional hotel. The breakfast was lovely. We had it served in the backyard in the shade in the morning sun. So nice! Good variety to choose from. Lovely fresh cheese, ham etc. and nice freshly made eggs and sausages. Barista coffee of all sorts. Ideal location for the leaning tower, transportation and balling distance from many restaurants and shopping areas. Thank you!

We stayed one night 9/25/2025. Our room was right off the reception area. It was clean, safe and comfortable and had a lovely large balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is very limited and has a tiny driveway in - so pre-reserve your parking if you need a spot and get a small car. They are on site 24 hours a day to help, if needed. They have a bar with delicious wine (and other things too). We did not eat their breakfast and walked to a local cafe instead. Everything is super close to this hotel. Restaurants and the leaning tower. All a very short walk. Felt very safe here

The hotel is very good in terms of location, organization, and cleanliness, and I would especially like to thank Francesco for always helping us with a constant smile. I’m writing this in the middle of my stay because this place is nothing like what it advertises. Let’s start with the only positive: the building itself is charming, and the location is convenient, right near the Leaning Tower and plenty of restaurants. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. The rooms on the third floor are stiflingly hot — easily over 80°F inside, even when it’s only 64°F outside. There’s no air conditioning, and if you have a baby, this is not just uncomfortable—it’s potentially dangerous. My 10-month-old can’t sleep and is drenched in sweat. To make matters worse, the room is infested with mosquitoes, and my son is now covered in bites. When I asked the front desk for bug spray, they handed me a plug-in device that requires an adapter—yet they don’t supply one. Completely useless. The staff’s attitude has been indifferent at best, dismissive at worst. Between the suffocating heat, the mosquito problem, and the lack of basic amenities or empathy, this place is absolutely not suitable for families or children. Calling this establishment a “hotel” feels borderline deceptive. Save yourself the stress, especially if you’re traveling with a baby or young kids. This is one of the worst “hotels” I’ve ever stayed in, and I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Giving 5 stars for the location and price. It's within ten minutes walking to the leaning tower and right next to the old town where there is lots to eat. 15 minutes walk from the train station. Room was updated but the shower was very tiny! I was happy to have our own private bathroom. Also, there are lots of stairs with no elevator, which might be an issue for some. It was clean and quiet with good wifi.

The room was comfortable and quite large. The location is great as it's only about 5mins walk to the Cathedral and Tower. On the downside, they required passport photos to be sent to them over Whatsapp prior to arrival which I wasn't comfortable doing. It was an odd requirement as there were staff available in reception most of the time. The shower leaked and the bathroom floor was wet.

This was a pretty terrible experience. The one good thing about this hotel is the location. The rest is pretty terrible. The drains in our bathroom smelt awful, along with the smell of the shared toilet we weren’t aware of across from the room. The shower was broken and the water went everywhere, the air conditioning was so loud to the point where we couldn’t have it on. We had it on for about 20 mins and I am now so sick, I am assuming it has never been cleaned and full of bacteria. This is also across the road from what I am assuming is student accommodation, people out all night screaming and shouting. There was also mosquitos everywhere. I never usually complain, but this alongside of the pretty poor check in procedure, we had to ask for the code as it wasn’t sent to us as told, and then when we go there we were told the key would be in the room, but it wasn’t. We had to call the owner to come and give it to us, this key could have been taken out of the open room, and to be honest I wouldn’t usually care, but this hotel gave me shadey vibes. The last straw was cleaners hoovering outside our room at 8am. I understand this is fairly cheap (but not really) but I didn’t expect to say somewhere so awful.

The room is very basic, but it's great for a short stay in Pisa. You cannot beat the location. It's less than 10 mins walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa and 15 mins walk to the station. There are amazing restaurants and shops within 5 mins walk. Our room even had a little balcony which was nice to let the fresh air in. Recommended for the budget traveller. Staff were very friendly.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. So completely unprofessional the service is non existent. Check in was a total nightmare. It’s all done via self check in and codes, and I texted the number as instructed to get my code. When I arrived, I had still not been texted any details whatsoever. So I was stood outside, unable to get in, no knowledge of my room number, just waiting for these lazy staff to wake up for their siesta and handle it because they were too incapable to do it earlier when they were supposed to. I finally managed to call them and get through, only to be hung up on 4/5 times with NO explanation. They were just saying things like what do you want, I don’t understand you, I don’t know what you need. It was SO RIDICULOUS. I was stood outside waiting with absolutely nothing I could do. God forbid I checked in later that night as I originally planned, as these lazy staff would absolutely have not picked up my calls. Then where would I be? The street perhaps? These people are a joke. Once a phone call was FINALLY established, I communicated I had not been texted the codes. No one apologised, not a single sorry. Just a lot of faffing down the other end for around TEN MINUTES. How do you not know the only 4 digit code to your one hotel?? It is a joke. THEN I get told “uh hm we will call you back in 5 minutes”. I seriously do not understand what was so difficult about this task, there is ONE JOB they need to do. Next, 10 minutes go by and I still have not been called back. Luckily another guest enters so the hotel so we can finally go into the lobby, alas to wait 10 more minutes. Finally, the man arrives to give us our room details and code, however he does not speak. He enters the room in a total moronic state, blankly staring at us as if he has no idea what the problem is. He does not speak first, just to say come this way, nope nothing. A blank stare, like we are almost a nuisance. And as a reminder, STILL NO APOLOGY. We then have to speak first as if the problem is not the most apparent thing in the world, and say where is our code, for his reaction to be almost a “oh yeah, I forgot”. Such stupidity. And no apology. Aside from management, staff, and service issues, the hotel itself is horrid. Do not let photos as if it has been modernised deceive you, it is a dump. Mosquitos as per the other reviews are a serious problem. I asked before making a booking if there were nets for the windows and I was told yes. However, the gaping holes in them means they are completely futile and their purpose simply redundant. So thanks for that useless piece of information and deception. Get new nets, cheapskates. The aircon has most definitely not ever been cleaned, nor the ceilings dusted, as inhalation of dust from circulation made me literally feel queasy. Oh, not to mention to the bathroom is mouldy. This was just such a nightmare. I have never left such a long review, nor despised a place so deeply, so simply said just steer very clear from here.

The location of the hotel was very great, it was close to the Pisa tower. However, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The room is very noisy and old. They did not provide any slippers in the room.

The venue is conveniently located near attractions like Piazza del Duomo and Museo Anatomico Veterinario di Pisa.
This is hotel is very clean! The shower is very powerful. Our flight was delayed so there weren’t any taxis at the airport. We walked to the hotel and it felt very safe even at one in the morning. The front desk lady was very kind and sold us snacks and wine as we had missed dinner.

This hotel has, you can say, bare essentials. The bathroom is small. But, everything clean. Located in a peaceful area of Pisa. The owner is super helpful and accommodating. If we ever come back here and the owners did not change, we will certainly come back to stay here.

Great overall. Owner is very nice, rooms are as expected small, but serves the purpose for one night.
Miha C — Google review
The owner is truly kind, friendly, talkative and generous and makes you really feel at home! He provided breakfast for my many intolerances. The room is quite big and with a big bathroom. It's tidy and clean. The price very cheap and, by day, very well connected with the airport. The Hotel is near the river where you can spend some magic tranquil moments. It's also very near to the city center with all its beauties! The place is safe even at night.

Good service, good location and that's about it... One star hotel and not sure it deserves that. Very dated, some ares never cleaned, breakfast was a joke apart from coffee, very old bed linen - looks cleaned, however due to age not sure. Room no window - just a little something above the door which couldn't be closed resulting in a lot of flying insects spending night with you making it sleepless night. I don't recommend.

Michael(the owner?) Strove very hard to impress. Its a small operation with small rooms and even smaller bathtooms. This one DOES NOT take payments through expedia or any other online booking service. You book your room ahead but pay at the hotel when you arrive.Hotel staff speak very little English but are conversant with using GOOGLE TRANSLATE. The staff gave us all the goodies in a bag for breakfast as we did not have time for breakfast and had to rush. Bottom line: good customer service in a small operation.

It is a good possibility for one night stay. The price is a little bit expensive for the facilities that you get in the hotel. Actually it doesn't look like a real hotel but as a house with devided separate sections with very basic design. The area is about 10 minutes walking from Pisa central station and about 25 minutes walking from Pisa airport. As we came around 10:30 in the night, the area never looked safe with young people sitting in the streets with alcohol bottles who were starring at us. One of them followed us inside the reception which is literally looks like a bar and asked the reception man about us but luckily he was dismissed. In the next morning we were very happy to leave to Florence.
Zaid A — Google review
The rooms do not have air conditioning, something we missed as we stayed at the hotel in August when the temperature was still around 32°C during daytime. The owner is a sweetheart, who only speak Italian - but he still helped us find our way by talking in high speed Italian and pointing rapidly at different sights at the pisa map he gave us. A good room for the prise, clean and with television with English programmes. I recommend the hotel for anyone that don't want to waste to much on living but on actual touristing and can take some heat. Liked my stay!

This is a great value low-cost option right beside the airport - 3 minutes walk from the terminal! The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Free tea and coffee and very clean washrooms with great showers. Really nice guy in the check-in - he was super-helpful. RECOMMENDED

How come this place is showing on Maps as a 3-star hotel?? If people state " you get what you pay for" , it will never improve. It is (too) basic. Squeaky doors, smelly place. Location- that is all it has on offer.
Gosia B — Google review
Very convenient for the airport, only a 5 minute walk which was great as I had to be up early. The place was the cheapest I could get near the airport which is why I chose it, so be aware that you get what you pay for. The room was very simple, the beds weren't proper beds but more like cots/camp beds, but they were comfy enough for a nights sleep. There wasn't any aircon in the room and when I tried to use the ceiling fan it started swinging around which I thought was probably quite dangerous so I stuck the night out in the heat. I would advise bringing earplugs as the street outside can be noisy and people coming and going in the other rooms too, it wasn't the quietest - luckily I always take my earplugs when travelling so I managed to get a good nights sleep. The communication from the owner/manager/employee (not sure who he was) was good, he let me know how I could get in. I did ask them twice what time I could check in, which they ignored... Luckily when I got there my room was ready anyway.
Emma R — Google review
3 stars for the proximety to airport/train station. For early flights worth considering, but no more than one night. Almost no chance of sleep, due to guests arriving well past midnight and starting to leave as early as 4am. Most rooms have windows on a rather noisy street side. The room itself was tidy and clean, communal kitchen and shared bathrooms reflect the quite reasonable price for the stay.

Absolutely our favorite Pisa hotel. Just finished our third stay. The rooms are spotless and quiet and the service excellent, but most of all location is ideal for access to the Duomo and tower, as well as restaurants, the University and train station.

We had to find a hotel in Pisa on short notice and luckily came across this one. The owner, as well as all the receptionists, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the room was just perfect. We felt so comfortable during our first night that we decided to stay for a second one. Since we arrived in the evening, we walked straight to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely book this place again if we return to Pisa.

They don't speak a word of English. The keepers are like 90 years old. Only good thing is semi ok location. Ac is not working, nothing is. 60 euros/night would be maximum for this place. We had to go to kitchen and wash glasses to get glasses at all. There was also old food in the fridge from last customers. Quite unbelievable. One night in Pisa is maximum also for the whole city. Duomo chirch is amazing otherwise blaah. Luckily we go tomorrow to Firenze.

Great location in a charming old building right in the center of Pisa. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tip: If you arrive by car, just go straight to the hotel even though it's in a restricted driving area. Bring your license plate number to the reception. Surprisingly good hotel. Very close to the tower. Clean rooms, comfortable bed and attractive styling. There is no parking at the hotel but there are two nearby garages. I parked for free in a nearby residential street overnight without difficulty. Coffee machine in the room.

Incredible location. The tower and buildings are within a 2 minute walk. The staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to drop our bags before check in and then took them up to our room. They helped with recommendations and made the stay easy. The rooms were spacious clean and had all the amenities including a smart tv and fridge. We stayed with a family of 4 with a 7 and 4 year old and it was perfect. Would highly recommend.

We did not sleep. What is a room without sleep? They put us in a room which shouldn’t be used for guests. The room was not suitable for guests at all, it was located on the ground floor next to the front door where every times someone entered they pressed a bell which rung right outside the room. The windows had to stay shut the whole time because just outside was a permanent market so zero privacy as people are constantly walking past the window. The vendors return to their stalls during the early hours of the morning lots of noise broke out. The door to the room entered onto reception so as soon as you opened it people queuing down the hallway to check in could see directly into you bedroom and bathroom. We complained twice and neither time had any compassion from the staff for the situation. I asked for a partial refund due to lack of sleep but they denied. This room cost £110, outrageous!
Bella — Google review
The best thing about this hotel is that it's approximately 1 minute away from the Tower of Pisa. The place is very nice, the rooms are cozy and clean, and the receptionists will answer any questions you might have. Two things to consider, though: there is no option for a breakfast (not really an issue, because there is a dozen of restaurants within walking distance), and there is no elevator, which could be an issue for some people.
Martin M — Google review
Nice cozy hotel right next to Pisa Tower. Convenient and has plenty of restaurants around. The bathroom is tiny and entry is tinier. Big n tall category people may not fit in that door. The front desk guy is friendly and helpful. Has refrigerator and coffee machine inside the room. Provided hand soap, shampoo and body wash as well. The room sided to the back of the property, so no noise from the tourists.

We had a really good stay at the pisa tower hotel. Its in a really good location for getting into the city centre and the rooms were beautiful, with high ceilings and good air con! The staff were really helpful when we got there and provided us with a list of restaurants away from the tourist areas which we really appreciated. The only fault we found was the reception wasn't manned until 08.30 in the morning which we only found out when we went to book a taxi with them at 07.30 and there were no staff around to help. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend.

Hotel was lovely! We booked 2 single rooms, and they were very spacious and had double beds, which was a surprise. Room had everything I needed. Depending on which room you had, you have an amazing view of the top of the leaning tower. Staff were great and helpful when we had a mini issue and sorted it straight away! For the price you pay, it's such a bargain for a prime location and comfy room. Can be loud outside due to being in the tourist area, but gets quieter into the night. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Would 100% recommend to friends and stay again myself

Excellent location, so good for popping back to cool down in the air con between visiting the tower, cathedral, etc 😀. Friendly and helpful reception staff who gave good advice about travelling to the airport. Clean room, nice shower. Great value 3 star hotel. Only little niggle was the wobbly toilet seat. As we only stayed 2 nights it didn't bother us enough to report it

We absolutely loved our stay. This is a basic hotel, a little dated in the rooms which doesn't help with the cleanness, but as a place to sleep when enjoying the sights of pisa it is perfect. The bed was comfy and clean, bathroom was decent, needs a little tlc and deep clean but good none the less. We stayed in room 43 and the view was incredible! The view alone was worth everything. Breakfast was decent standard European, so if you're not into continental you might not enjoy but it was a prefect set up for the day. Great experience.

Cheap, but clean and modern. Very basic, but for the price in this location, it’s a bargain. Concierge is present only in the morning, but they let the keys on the desk so checkin was smooth. I would describe the vibe as “youth prison” or “mental hospital”. If you’re looking for a cheap place but don’t like hostels, this is perfect

We stayed only one night and the room was great. It had a sink in the room so it was nice to brush teeth at night instead of going to the communal bathroom. The view wasn’t the greatest but I wasn’t there for the view. The room was clean, it had a desk and mirror as well as a big hutch and 2 side bed tables. The lobby is really nice with plenty of seating. The check in instructions and communication was excellent. The location was approx a 20 min walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. DO NOT STAY HERE! IF I COULD LEAVE A 0/5 I WOULD We booked this hotel last minute, and upon arrival we where told there would be someone in reception until 12am, we arrived at 8:30pm and not a single worker. I rang the contact number one door to which I was given a code to enter. Then I was told to look for my key to my room on the front desk by a unhelpful ignorant man on the phone. This key I got left took me to a room which someone was in. I rang again and was shouted down the phone a different key number which was the master key to all rooms, again when I entered the room there was someone staying there. The lack of brains and safety here is crazy I could've entered every room in that hotel no problem that night. After this myself and my partner decided to leave and find a different hotel as we were annoyed at how we were shouted at down the phone and the lack of safety. I rarely leave bad reviews but this place has really annoyed me with how bad it is. IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!

One of the worse hotels I've been in my life, avoid it. I give you 10 reasons why: 1- mold in the room 2 - mosquitos the whole night 3 - air-conditioned didn't work/very warm room 4- noisy neighbourhood, and we couldn't close the window due the warmth 5- shared bathroom smelling very bad 6- leaking water at the corridors 7- Not so friendly staff/ not attentive 8- worker/cleaner entered in the room without even knocking the door 9- when I came back to my room it smelled like cigarette 10- overpriced parking 15€/day and there is not even parking, its in the street. 11- poor connection with the wifi, needed to sit on the floor. 12- they announced paid breakfast or something to eat in the hotel, and I asked the staff about it, and they said "you can just go across the street and look for a bakery yourself" It would be funny if not tragic, Do not come here, avoid this scam.

Location is convenient for the train. After we had to leave our first hotel in a rush we came here out of necessity. This place has a SHARED bathroom , something I’ve never seen in an American hotel. The AC works but leaks all over the floor. Very basic room with no one at the front desk ever. This place also has a bar but I’ve never seen anyone there to serve a drink so I’m not sure what’s the point of having it. If you’re in need like us by all means otherwise I suggest else where.

I was glad to be staying here for only one night. I initially chose this hotel because the price was reasonable. The room we were given was in the attic, with a very low ceiling and a very small window positioned high up, making it impossible to get any natural sunlight. Additionally, the radiator was not working, and overall, everything in the room felt old and worn out. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is great—it’s just a 3-minute walk from the tower.

This is an historic building with many original features. However the ensuite to our room wasn't very fresh smelling and the Aircon unit was not effective at all this did reduce our enjoyment of our stay. Nestled in the heart of Pisa, Hotel Capitol offers a cozy and budget-friendly retreat for travelers seeking comfort without breaking the bank. Just a short stroll from iconic landmarks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Piazza del Duomo, this hotel boasts straightforward rooms equipped with essential amenities. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast, unwind in the TV lounge, or grab a drink at the bar after a day of exploring.
We stayed for one night while in Pisa, to gain entry to the hotel there was a code sent by the owner, and key pad by the front door. We had a family room, large bed and bunk beds. The room was very clean. Beds Comfortable and fully working ac. There was some noise at night by people coming in, but nothing very bad. The owner is available via WhatsApp and respond quickly. We asked for a taxi to be booked very early in the morning. Unfortunately we did not have any breakfast. The location is in a quiet area, short walk to the leaning Tower, shopsand restaurants.

Friendly and accommodating personnel, good support and efficient self-check in. Rooms are fine, however packed if you are 4 (and you can book one for 4). Maybe for two people with the aim of roaming the city is a good deal. The parking is not included, is not covered and is not supervised.

I would describe this hotel as an up market hostel. Clean and serviceable rooms. Great for seeing the city but you probably wouldn't want to stay for an extended period
Gary C — Google review
When we arrived, there was a guy on reception who was very nice. The reception area is clean and well maintained. Our room, not so much. We chose this hotel as we were travelling with our grandchildren (5yr olds) and this was one of the few offering a room with bunk beds. (see photo). On the plus side, our bed was comfortable, breakfast is cereal and pastries, and the coffee is OK. The rooms need some serious upgrading.

Hello everyone, I would like to share my experience at this hotel where I stayed for 5 nights. Overall, it was a negative experience for me due to several inconveniences I encountered: - Room cleanliness: The room was in good condition when I checked in. However, the cleanliness of the rooms is really poor. The bed was daily made, but the floor was not cleaned. In fact, the little dirt that was there remained until the last day. Additionally, the walls are very thin, making it easy to be woken up by nighttime noises. Furthermore, the blinds in my room didn't work due to a defect in the mosquito net, so I would wake up at sunrise. - Absence of staff at the reception: To access the hotel, I had to call the manager and get an access code to enter the building. Once inside, all the room access cards were on the table with all the guests' last names, without any control or personnel present! - Minimal breakfast: Breakfast is served in a small room on the ground floor as a buffet, where you can only serve yourself pre-packaged products. However, I appreciated the coffee machine and toaster. Another problem was that breakfast was served from 8:00 am (!!!), which made it difficult for me to manage my schedule since I was in Pisa for work/academic (university) reasons, and classes started at 8:30 am! Furthermore, I had major issues with the air conditioning as the duct was infested with hornets that came out of the ventilation duct after a few days. I promptly reported the problem to the manager, who simply told me that if I didn't feel safe, I could sleep in the reception area. To convince him of the problem, I had to send him videos of the hornets outside and inside the room (dead ones), and only then did he arrange an alternative for me in another hotel since his was fully booked. The next day, they inspected the air conditioning and found a hornet nest in the wall cavity, which they resolved. Thank you for that. Another problem arose with breakfast, as I have a gluten intolerance. I informed the manager, who was quite rude, telling me that they were not equipped to handle such a situation. However, as I pointed out, they could have easily provided me with rice or corn cakes... In the end, they gave me something. Overall, I will not return to this hotel. From my perspective, I can overlook the room cleanliness, noise from other guests, and air conditioning issues (which can happen to anyone), but I cannot tolerate or justify the "hostile" behavior of the hotelier, who needs to be constantly reminded to care for their guests (i.e., gluten intolerance and not believing in the hornet problem). Note: A small suggestion: It would be optimal to improve the hotel's security system since accessing it requires entering codes. However, there are no surveillance cameras, making it quite easy to discover the access code by simply observing someone entering! Thank you all

Great for having a bed to sleep on and roof over your head! Bathroom was private and great too! Convenient location! Didn't have breakfast there, went out so can't comment. Bit of a problem with mosquitos, but could just be the time of the year! All in all pleasant stay and well priced.
L R — Google review
The owner is extremely impolite and aggressive. I cancelled my reservation before arriving as the owner started shouting at me on the phone as I remarked that on booking there was no info on the fact that you enter through a code, nobody is at check-in desk and you are left on your own.
Caterina E — Google review
Easy walk from the metro and not far from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Room is decent sized but the bathrooms are very old and the bunkbeds for the kids squeeked all night long. You are not located in a busy area so expect to walk 10-15 min to find hustle and bustle and the food that goes along with it. Decent budget hotel.

We booked 2 rooms at this hotel in Oct. The check-in was smooth, staff spoke English & was kind enough to converse via Google translate when required. The room had a retro vibe, was clean, all basic toiletries were provided, there was extra blanket too. We got the breakfast on spot. The owner is super friendly. I also took hot drinking water for tea to my room. There are many restaurants once you walk towards the Leaning tower. All in all a good stay, I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel Amalfitana offers a relaxed stay with comfortable rooms and a laid-back lounge bar. The location is ideal for sightseeing, with the leaning tower just a 5-minute walk away and surrounding restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly, polite, and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to assist guests even after they have checked out. Additionally, the hotel provides great service in unexpected situations such as last-minute accommodations due to flight cancellations.
Nice hotel, you got all you need for a reasonable price. Bed was on the firm side, just how I like it. Very close to everything you want to see/do. Rooms are not soundproof. Recommend this place for short vacation.

Overall experience was ok. The hotel is very old and you will notice some strange smell upon entrance. Speaking about the hotel room. It was ok. The beds & pillows were comfortable. The staff is helpful and approachable. The only big negative is the shower that is very very small and once entered cannot move hands around. Recommend only for a night or two. Still felt bit overpriced considering the condition of the room and bathroom. 2 stars only for the staff and generosity.
Rekha S — Google review
The staff are so kind and helpful, Kiara was so sweet even before she knew we were guests. The street parking is right out front you just pay on the easy park app, the air conditioning or ac worked well, the restaurant is the best we had in Italy so far! Even cooler is the history, it was a church in the 600’s!!! It’s a straight walk to main square with the tower, maybe at most a 8’min walk.
Lauren H — Google review
It was an awful hotel. The bed was dirty when we checked in, and when I told them about it, they changed our room without even saying sorry. From the entrance to the rooms, there was a strong, disgusting smell. There was mold on the walls and a lack of proper room service—they didn’t renew the soap, shampoo, etc. The bidet didn’t work. Something in the room triggered our allergies badly, and our stay there was a complete torture. The only positive thing is the location, but Pisa is a small city, and you can walk everywhere, so even that isn’t a big advantage. Stay away from this hotel.
Saliha K — Google review
Great location, friendly, helpful staff . Clean rooms. Perfect for a short stay.
Angela O — Google review
The hotel being a 2 star category, does not even deserve to be fallen under a Single Star hotel category due to poor services and low maintenance of rooms. The room was very very small that there was no scope even to move properly. The condition of bed was so bad that I could not sleep whole night. The bed meterees was so spongy that when you sit on the bed, it results in you are caving in inside the bed. Also the pillow was so hard that you are sleeping over the rock. Also the lights were so dark in the room with no water facility at the room. If I have to order a tea then I have to go down to the reception to collect the tray on my own and take it to my room. Overall, it was a bad experience, I would recommend to carefully and cautiously choose the hotel.

‼️recommended‼️oh my God!! The owner is honestly the nicest man ever!! Great location, less than 5minutes walk from the tower, half an hour from the station! The room is clean, air conditioned. Nice common area and garden. Great stay for a night or for more. Good price! And you get to leave your bags after check out. Thank you!!

I would stay here again if I visit pisa alone. I was very lucky when my room was only girls no men hahaha With the very good location next to Pisa tower and train station and bus I feel so nice and comfortable. There was a cleaning lady which she did her job amazing the shared bathroom and bed wasn’t bad at all. They have kitchen and washing machine to hang clothes. I didn’t feel dirty or stressed for 2 nights I was here. I even made new friend.

The staff and location is so nice! But Iv never experienced a worse smelling hostel in my life. The room and mattress smelled like sour milk and old cigarettes and it was so intense I couldn’t sleep at night so ended up leaving after 2 nights of a 4 night stay.

amazing hostel!!! perfectly located, about 2 minutes from the leaning tower, and close to all the restaurants in pisa too. the beds were relatively comfy and cool for a hostel, and the staff very friendly. you have a key code so you can access the hostel at any hour. there is a good fridge, ping pong and a nice roof area. showers are decent with hot and cold water every time i used them, and a cleaner comes every day. i arrived after midnight, and had to message the property on booking.com on the day of arrival (no reply on whatsapp), but after that i was easily able to check in later. one important thing is that when you arrive you have to pay the city tax of €2.50 per day that you stay.
Isobel B — Google review
As soon as you step out of the hostel, you can see the tower. Everything was clean, and every staff member – from the receptionists to the cleaning lady – was incredibly kind and polite!
Monika G — Google review
The room was alright and the location is really good - close to the tower. However, they did not keep track of my reservation and there was a language barrier. I had booked one night and paid for it, then the owner came to me and claimed that there had been a mistake and that I had booked two nights, in the confusion he refunded me for the night I had paid even if I had clearly booked for one night. Then when I pointed it out he charged me for one night again - but with a higher price this time! That caused a lot of confusion and if he charged me the wrong amount the first time, then why not just say so? A major flaw in their service, and I suspect deliberate dishonesty. It irritated me a lot. Otherwise the place was fine, but such booking problems are unacceptable.

The Blue Shades hotel is situated 500 metres from Pisa Airport, and features modern en suite rooms with contemporary-style decor. The hotel offers a continental breakfast in the breakfast room. The rooms are large, clean and located close to the central station of Pisa. The owner was wonderful and upgraded our room because it was cold on the bottom floor. This really made our stay more enjoyable!
The staff at Blue Shades were some of the nicest and most accommodating group of individuals I’ve ever met. I did not plan to stay at Blue shades but had booked it last minute as I had to return home due to a medical emergency and this was the closest hotel to the airport. I couldn’t walk and physically had no way to get into the building. My cousin, who was helping me during my medical emergency, called ahead and told them that I couldn’t walk and needed help getting to my room. They did not have a wheelchair, but said they would do what they can to help. The staff were waiting for me upon arrival with an office chair and rolled me inside and to my room. I just about cried at how generous, kind, and accommodating the staff was. We got room service and the food was fantastic, which makes sense after finding out they made it fresh. The next day they helped me down and into the taxi. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help (I wish I got the gentleman’s name) as I had no idea how I would have gotten to my room without them. I would strongly recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family. The room was exactly what we needed and is very close to the airport. I couldn’t walk around to explore the area but there is a very cute cafe and restaurants around the area (not to mention a pharmacy).

The hotel is in need of renovation — the bathroom and plumbing require repair, and there’s an unpleasant smell in the toilet. The rooms are poorly cleaned, and the furniture is old and worn out. I felt uncomfortable during my stay. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever experienced.

4 star hotel. That's a joke. Terribly run-down, loud music till very late, awful smell in the room from the nearby kitchen, devastated bathroom( missing a glass shield inbthe shower cabin, leaking and broke shower handle), black mold in the bathroom. The only good thing is the walking distance to the airport. Horrible price to quality ratio. Hasnt undergone a single repatriacji or refreshening since it was built. The staff is well trained in getting all type of complaints, cause they only shrug their shoulders with rude smile on their faces. AC very poorely working. Very bad experience, we couldnt sleep till almost midnight, having an earls morning flight. I do not recommend staying there. And the worst of all: MOSKITOS IN THE ROOM BUZZING ALL NIGHT LONG.

The room is 26 degrees Celsius despite the air conditioning, which, since the temperature doesn't drop, runs all night, making a corresponding noise... No bottled water available. A 25-minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa is reasonable. Very rude service and no manner We travel in a group. Breakfast server (long black hair in a pony tail who lied about her name “Fabian”), picked up my uneaten plate without asking whilst I was getting coffee and told me to move. Apparently, she wanted to prepare that table for another group. She told me to move for a second time when I tried to sit with another group of ours. When given feedback to ask first before touching a customer plate, she replied, “You come to my house, next time you ask me where to sit”. I was shocked. She’s not only rude but has no manner. I told her I’m a paying customer, this is not her house and she works here. When I tried to call our bus driver in the next partition, who speaks their language, she blocked and stood in front of me and told me I can’t enter. She gave me “Fabian” as her name and I find out from the receptionist that Fabian is the manager’s name and the servers should be wearing name tags but none of them did. Neither she nor the other servers would give out her name. So I’m writing a google review because I’m not sure my feedback at the reception desk would be given to their manager. If I could give zero star…I would.

Very bad service. The breakfast server had a bad attitude, was arrogant, and lacked basic manners. She had a long black ponytail and was not wearing a name tag. She acted as if she ruled the hotel and expected customers to obey her. Some of us also experienced racism, possibly because we are Asians. An elderly man from our group asked the receptionist about hotel wifi. They shooed him away like he was a pest and told him to ask his group leader. They could have told him in a better way.

This hotel is not good. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, the floor was very dirty, the walls were so thin I could hear the guest next door’s phone alarm go off. The staff were unhelpful - we requested a cot for our toddler and were told it would be in the room. It wasn’t - and when it did come it was partly broken and dirty. There was a safe which was good. The location is handy for the airport with free parking. Breakfast was ok. Ultimately it doesn’t deserve 4 stars and certainly wasn’t worth the money we paid.
Steve P — Google review
Good location for Pisa International Airport, no atmosphere, no coffee or tea in rooms just a vending machine in reception. The restaurant is small and does not open until 19.30 although the food was very good. No other eateries in,walking distance.

😐 Overrated for a 4-star hotel, but convenient for short stays Hotel Galilei is a practical choice if you need to be close to Pisa Airport and Pisa Centrale train station. However, despite being rated 4 stars, it feels somewhat overrated. The rooms are clean and functional but show signs of wear, and some can be noisy due to poor sound insulation. The location is in an industrial area, which is not appealing or safe to walk around at night, and it’s quite far (about 3 km) from the historic center and the Leaning Tower. If you want to explore Pisa, I’d recommend staying closer to the city center. The staff is friendly, and the breakfast is decent, but overall, the hotel doesn’t quite meet the expectations of a 4-star property. Suitable mainly for short stays or travelers with early flights or train connections.

We chose Hotel Galilei in Pisa for its convenient location near the airport. The staff were friendly and the restaurant offered good-quality food. However, upon arriving at our room, we noticed a strong unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke throughout the entire floor and inside the room itself. Additionally, the facilities overall seem a bit neglected. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

⭐ If You Want Ants in Your Pants, Stay Here… ⭐ Stayed July 2025 Ah, Hotel Galilei Pisa — where the stars in the 4-star rating must be from a parallel universe. Or maybe they just meant star-shaped stains on the carpet? Let’s begin with the welcoming committee: an entire army of ants in the room. No exaggeration — I half expected them to ask for my passport. Then came their friends: silverfish in the bathroom, clearly on some sort of insect package holiday. When I told reception, they didn’t seem shocked — just handed me a can of bug spray like it was a minibar item. Très chic. The hotel itself feels like it was built in the 1960s and then promptly abandoned — until now. Tired, run-down, and possibly held together by optimism alone. The sink was bright orange (a bold design choice… or rust?) and the shower had two settings: “dribble” and “Niagara, but sideways.” Bonus points for it being as clean as a motorway rest stop. WiFi? Don’t make me laugh. It dropped out more often than a high school rebel, and every time I closed my phone or dared to go outside, I had to log in again. Because apparently, the ants don’t like guests hogging the bandwidth. Breakfast? More like brexit — I exited after day one. It looked like it had been sourced from the bargain bin of a petrol station. I ended up walking to a café down the road where the croissant didn’t stare back at me. And finally, if you enjoy sleeping next to a family of chair-draggers with a passion for midnight furniture rearrangement, you’re in for a treat. The walls are about as soundproof as a wet paper towel. Overall, if you’re looking for a retro entomology experience with added sleep deprivation and a side of instant regret, Hotel Galilei is the place for you.

36Hotel NH Pisa

NH Pisa is a modern and stylish hotel located in the heart of Pisa, just opposite the Pisa Centrale railway station. The hotel offers contemporary rooms with free Wi-Fi and elegant interiors. It's conveniently situated within walking distance to iconic attractions such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Piazza dei Miracoli. With its vibrant interior and modern amenities, NH Pisa provides a comfortable base for exploring the enchanting capital of Tuscany.
Two minute walk from train station - perfect. Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn’t have breakfast. Loved the welcoming juice and sweetie/savoury snack jars - lovely touch.

I can not believe this is a NH hotel let alone a 4 star one. I stayed at this property for just one night, and unfortunately, it fell far below expectations—especially for a place marketed as a 4-star hotel with premium pricing. While the location is convenient, just a short walk from the train station, that’s where the positives end. The building is in a serious state of disrepair. Beyond the deceptively modern and well-maintained lobby, the condition of the rooms is shocking. The floor in my room was uneven (perhaps unintentionally echoing the Leaning Tower), the wallpaper was peeling, and parts of the wooden furniture were rotten. The bathroom had visible holes, some poorly patched with caulk, and the sink was broken. Electrical issues added to the discomfort. The lights emitted a constant buzzing noise, and only one outlet in the entire room worked. Even the basic comforts were overlooked—like bed sheets that were too small for the bed. What made the experience worse was the lack of hospitality. The staff were largely inattentive and at times borderline rude—not in the charming, brusque Italian way, but more in a dismissive and disinterested manner. For the price tag, I expected at least basic functionality and decent service. Overall, this was a disappointing and overpriced stay. The hotel needs serious renovation and a reevaluation of its star rating. Until then, I would not recommend it.

I stayed for just one night as I was passing through and prioritised being close to the station. I had read the reviews beforehand, so I had a general idea of what to expect. I stayed in a superior single room. Check-in went smoothly. Once I got to the floor, I noticed the corridors were a bit poorly maintained. The room itself was fine—more in line with a three-star hotel. However, it had several signs of wear: there were marks on the floor from the door, cracked furniture, and the bathroom showed damp stains and peeling paint on the ceiling. Overall, it felt like the room hadn’t been properly maintained. The water pressure in the shower was good, and I slept well. In the morning, I did a quick check-out. Overall, I’d say it’s a decent hotel, but not up to the usual NH standard, and it doesn’t quite live up to a four-star rating.

We recently stayed here for 5 nights and the overall experience was pleasant. The hotel is located right across from Pisa train station so was perfect considering we had a day trip booked out of Pisa to Venice, didn’t have to walk far at all. Nice police presence outside the station as well who frequent the hotel to use the restroom so felt very safe going outside during the evening. It’s also not that far of a walk away from the leaning tower so definitely a bonus, also keeps you away from the crowds further down. Do keep in mind there is no seating outside the hotel though so you do have to stand if you want to have a smoke or even get some fresh air which was a little disappointing considering we didn’t have a balcony so couldn’t sit and enjoy the evening weather, but you can cross the road and sit on the benches opposite the station🤷🏽‍♀️. The front of house staff and restaurant servers were lovely, polite and professional! The tourist tax was also very cheap in my opinion, only 3 euro a night which we were allowed to pay upfront so no messing around during check out! However the only slight downside was the room there was constant nose coming from the fridge every 30 minuets or so, which as a person who likes back ground noise it was very loud and distracting. The bed sheets as well were very noisy and almost felt damp (not sure what washing powder they use) but they were definitely clean and dry, just slightly uncomfortable to sleep in. Hard to explain the sound and feel if I’m honest, all three of us had the same experience with this saying in three separate rooms) it was the same sort of sheets they use in Venice so might have something to do with there brands? The room size was nice but not memorable, there also weren’t any plug sockets by the bed which I thought was strange! We had to unplug the lamp across the room to use one there and then also one other socket by the door which was annoying so only two for the whole room!? There also isn’t a kettle provided in the room (again slightly weird as never stayed anywhere abroad without a kettle and mugs naturally provided) however when we went to the reception to ask for one they were very very good in proving a tray with a kettle, cups with milk and sugar. So that was nice service but just be aware of this if you like to make a tea or coffee in the morning when you first wake up. We pre paid for our breakfast as well when we booked through loveholidays so didn’t have to worry about that, the selection of food is good and tasted nice so would always find something to eat. They also serve breakfast from 7:00 - 11:00 which was soo nice as didn’t have to stress about waking up early to eat! The layout of the hotel is nice and very welcoming when you walk in and they also provide free drinks at the side of reception to help yourself. Again staff were very well mannered and helpful all around so can’t complain at all. If you have pre booked airport transfer though do also keep in mind they tend to pick you up VERY VERY early from the hotel for some reason, the airport staff and even our flight attendants confirmed this on our return back which even they don’t understand so you will be waiting around for a while once you arrive at the airport. You also can’t get through security either until at least 2 and half hours before your flight is due to depart as the barriers won’t let you. Overall a nice hotel and has a lot more pros than cons, would recommend mainly for its location and distance from the station, leaning tower and airport, plus its friendly professional staff.

I chose this hotel based on my GHA Discovery membership, where I hold the highest Titanium status. I really enjoy the benefits of the program and use them frequently. One of the key benefits is a room upgrade. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so that wasn’t possible — which I completely understand and find fair. However, I would have at least expected a better room location or some alternative benefits not even mentioned. The program also includes a welcome gift or amenity. Sadly, what I received cannot be compared to what other hotels usually offer. It honestly looked like a mistake. Overall, I felt like the staff didn’t care about my membership at all. There was a complete lack of interest. I’m mentioning this because the program always sends me a survey asking about my stay. Leaving the loyalty program aside, the general attitude at the hotel was rather cold. We asked for an extra blanket for sleeping, as we don’t like to share one. While we did get the blanket, we were told there was no additional bed linen available — does a hotel really not have spare sheets? I also asked for a sleeping kit listed among the hotel’s amenities, but was told they definitely don’t have anything like that. Breakfast is another disappointing aspect. The scrambled eggs were terrible — I assume they were powdered. The Greek salad was definitely not fresh, with tasteless tomatoes and cucumbers. There weren’t many bread options either. Yes, you’ll find something to eat, but not enjoyably. The room was clean, but definitely worn out. The shower fixture wouldn’t stay in place and kept swiveling, and the whole shower area was covered in limescale. Overall, I was disappointed by both the hotel and the level of service.
Lucie M — Google review
Upgraded to a suite on 5th floor. It was a 2-story room but stairs going up very rickety. Water pressure for hot water in the shower was terrible. Like a 1 or 2 out of 10. There was also a mechanical noise that sounded every 30 seconds. I told the front desk and they sent someone up right away, which was good. The man heard the sound, never checked the water pressure, and never came back! I told the desk at checkout that they never came back and never fixed anything. They provided smiles and I’m sorries, but offers no compensation for the poor quality of the room. Disappointed overall. Breakfast was great! Food selection and servers were great.

On September 13, we checked into Hotel NH Pisa. After entering the room, we discovered that the air conditioning could not be turned on. Since we were traveling with a tour group, our tour leader reported this issue to the hotel. Not long after, two maintenance staff came up to check the AC and said it might be because the main switch was not turned on, and that they would go and look into it—but they never returned. I later went down to the front desk to ask how long we would need to wait for the air conditioning to be fixed. The lady at the reception could not give a clear answer. At that point, I requested to change rooms, but she refused, saying there were no available rooms and we could only wait until the air conditioning was repaired. Later, I met other guests on the same floor who also reported the same issue. The hotel’s response to them was simply that they could open the windows. Because the room was extremely hot, I again went downstairs to ask about changing rooms. This time, I was told that the air conditioning problem was “not a big issue,” that no maintenance staff would be available during the weekend, and that the hotel could only provide a fan. Additionally, the staff claimed that since our booking was part of a group special rate, we could not switch rooms. This was the first time I had ever heard such an unreasonable response in all my travels. The two reception staff members had very poor attitudes and acted as if we were making trouble for no reason. If anyone wants to experience poor service and inadequate facilities, they can try staying at Hotel NH Pisa.

Try to think more more and more before you book this hotel. The worst hotel i ever know. Been travel round the world with NH Group and here is d worst. The aircon is not work at all and they know about this few days before but still sell the rooms. This kind of service is horible. The staff just say “i cant help to give other rooms” and just let the customer try find solution ourself. NH Group, you should train your staff better. On night shift their name is Sylvia and Samuel.

Casa Betania is a functional 3-star hotel located within a 25-minute walk from Pisa's famous leaning Tower. The hotel offers warm rooms, some with balconies, and features amenities such as a lobby lounge, dining room, vending machine, and lift. Guests have praised the impeccable service and cleanliness of the hotel. Some rooms offer views of the private and free parking area while others come with useful amenities like fridges.
The location is far from the tourist attractions but it's a quiet place; it offers several public transportation options but the transportation system doesn't work all night long so be careful how to get there and what's the last bus. The room was fine (toilet and shower with some small details to be fixed but nothing critical). The service was great, nice people
Jorge R — Google review
This is the worst hotel! The soundproofing is completely non-existent, you'll hear your neighbor going to the bathroom and what they say. I managed to sleep only a couple of hours during the night because of the noise. The breakfast didn’t meet expectations: there were only a couple of boiled eggs and cereal! That's it! And this for 9 euros. The room itself is very uncomfortable, and the shower in the bathroom is awkward to use.
Anna V — Google review
Good value for money. I spent a few nights here, and my single room was cleaned daily. Helpful staff who can communicate in English. The room & bathroom were of decent size. AC was ok, fridge was hardly cool even with the minimum temperature, and there's no tea/coffee or kettle in the room (in this area, everyone seems to buy water). Penny supermarket is an 8-min walk, everything else, like the city centre, cafes, and supermarkets, is a 20-40-minute walk. Accessible by buses and taxis.
Dilum B — Google review
We were kindly allowed early check in which we really appreciated after a long journey! The receptionist was lovely. The rooms have everything you need - especially AC! Also got toiletries etc for use. Room was clean and quiet, except for the church bells sometimes.
Summer P — Google review
No noise isolation between the rooms as well as room and corridor, you will hear Everything others do at any point in time (early morning, late at night). Oh, and the airplanes also, even with the closed windows. No cooling from the air conditioner, it will make heat instead on the cooling setup. Uncomfortable pillows. No drinking bottled water, I think it’s the least welcome the hotel can do.
Evgeny K — Google review
I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The walls had visible mold, which made the room feel unhealthy. The breakfast options were very limited and not fresh. Additionally, the soundproofing was poor — I could hear noises from neighboring rooms and the hallway throughout the night. To make matters worse, the room had an unpleasant smell upon arrival. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

A bit far from town if you don't drive, since in the evening the buses are less frequent but its worth the hassle. The place is lovely. The people that work there made our experience a 10/10 Very clean and would definitely stay there again if we were to go pisa.

A steal. Totally worth the price paid. The accommodations were clean--this is a big deal for me--and had a sort of homey vibe. Atmosphere is charming and the surroundings are calming. Breakfast is also included in price, but I missed it and can't exactly tell you how good it is. Though, if you're looking for a place right in the center, staying here may not be the best idea. If you are driving it should be okay. Also, carrying heavy luggage up the stairs is a bit inconvenient.

Place is run down but clean, and staff are friendly, rooms are old and dated, you can hear the other rooms around you and our bed had a spring sticking out which I had to cut off. Warm welcome. Friendly service. AC no charge. Breakfast was very nice no cooked breakfast. Cereals, bread, croissants, cheese, fruit etc. Stone threw away from Pisa tower. Shops walking distance. The hotel is perfectly situated to embrace all Pisa has to offer. We stayed in a deluxe room in the historic part of the hotel. It was clean and exceptionally quiet. Friendly, very patient with two tired parents of a baby who simply did not want to sleep. The bed was the most comfortable one we've ever had in a hotel. If I knew where the pillows were from we would buy them for our own home. Nice strong a/c for room, big bath Jacuzzi, complimentary amenities, nice fresh breakfast. Very pleased with our stay and the central location. Only note, there is construction across from the building on one side that can be noisy during the day.

Fantastic location for a hotel- offering a great breakfast in it's standard rate Booked a triple room, included a small fridge and an a/c. A fan would have been nice too but can understand the limitations. Rooms and bathrooms spotless Unfortunately for us the a/c took a bit of figuring out so we were hot the first night 🤣 but then soon got the hang of things. The TV has an abundance of channels, the WiFi is free and fast and the location is about 6 mins from the tower. Staff at every interaction were so kind and helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, continental style but so much choice.

Horrible, carton walls! I could hear my neighbours taking a 20 minute shower at 6 in the morning. Every step, every little sound I could hear as if it was right next to me. The socket didn’t work so my phone did not charge at night. Breakfast is very plain, definitely not vegan/vegetarian friendly. I did not see any eggs. Mostly pastries, cakes. Some scattered tomatoes and cucumbers which is not enough even for a child. Very disappointed for such a quality/price ratio.

My daughter, 6, says: it was wonderful, the bedroom is wonderful, the beds are very comfy. The air conditioning kept it cold. They had very yummy sweets on the reception desk. The terrace was a little windy at first and then it turned warmer. The breakfast was excellent because they had pancakes." My son, 11, says: the room was nice but a little small, the bathroom had glass over the top and wasn't connected to the ceiling. Exquisite sights and amazing sunroom, the cleaners redid the room while we were out which was nice. The TV had itv and YouTube. The breakfast was really good but they didn't have soya milk. We had some sweets from the reception desk and they made coffee and tea for my parents." The grown-ups say: Very nice hotel with good location, great breakfast, very friendly staff, very clean rooms, a little sunroom and a nice terrace with views of the leaning tower.

I could mention a few positive aspects of this hotel, but I prefer to highlight a recurring issue, as I’ve seen in other reviews: the extremely rude man who works at night. My husband and I arrived tired from our trip and were greeted with cynicism and rudeness. With every word, he managed to be even more unpleasant, leaving a terrible first impression. To be honest, his attitude ruined our experience in Pisa. He clearly goes out of his way to treat guests with disdain – something unacceptable for any hotel. Since this is not the first complaint and probably won’t be the last, I recommend avoiding this place if you need to check in at night—unless you want to be treated with complete disrespect.

Clean and affordable accommodation with reliable air-conditioning, which was greatly appreciated. The staff were kind, pleasant, and all capable of speaking English which was great. Had 2 rooms for 4 nights. 5-star experience in all respects. Rooms were very nice, quite classically decorated. They were clean, also I would say unusually large. The hotel has a small car park, so they can accommodate a car if you are exploring the region by car. The hotel is family-run, and it feels like it. They were very hospitable and friendly, great service overall. Thank you for the great stay! Highly recommended, if we are visiting the region again, without hesitation I will come here again.

Hotel Francesco is a modest accommodation option that provides basic rooms with amenities such as a sunbathing terrace, TV lounge, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The central location allows for easy access to the main train station and the international airport.
We checked in very late (after midnight) with very clear instructions. Communication was great! The rooms are very clean and spacious for Pisa. The windows are well isolated, so you can barely hear the outside noise. Anyways, it’s in a pedestrian zone, so no traffic and honking! The hotel booked the ZTL ticket for us, we could stay on it for 24h without having to worry about paying the parking by the hour. And it’s literally 5 minutes walk to the Pisa tower. Would come back any time! Lovely and helpful reception staff. The manager was very nice.

This place was home away from home. The manager treated us like family with great service and kindness. Rooms and breakfast had views of the tower (which was only a 4 minute walk away). Definitely would recommend!

Very near the tower , it’s good if you wanna make it as a base to explore neighboring towns. You can have a feel and see the tower in the morning and night. We were also given a triple room, double bed and bunk bed but we were supposed to have a double room with a terrace/view. This was fine cause the room has a big window overlooking the streets, you could see the rush of people (locals, students and tourists). Damian (reception) was welcoming and happy to entertain guests. However, no coffee and tea facilities in our room, we requested one but apparently it’s not working or whatnot. They gave us an option to request for coffee or tea instead through reception which is quite a bit of a hassle. Cleanliness can be improved.

Thank you again for everything Damian - it's been an absolute pleasure.

This charming hotel features simple yet comfortable rooms equipped with air conditioning, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Guests can enjoy a delightful continental breakfast each morning, complete with Italian coffee and various local delicacies. The hotel's location is particularly convenient for travelers, as it's situated near Pisa Centrale Station, providing easy access to surrounding attractions and transport links.
Great location, just 2 minutes away from train station. Friendly staff, simple breakfast but enough to start your day. Single room was spacious very spacious but floors have no carpets so you might hear noises of moving chairs in other rooms. Comfy bed! If you're planning to check in late make sure you have a working sim card as you'll have to make a call for code and room details.

The room was old but clean, and there were many essential travel-sized items available for guests. it’s in a central location, so it’s a good option

Hairs everywhere! I booked this hotel as it was close to the train station, but never again. Definitely the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The bed had so many hairs on it. I started to strip away each layer of bedding and more and more hairs appeared. I can’t believe someone would leave it like that. When I arrived there wasn’t anyone at the desk, and I had to use a code to enter the building (which wasn’t easy as it didn’t work the first few times). When I finally got in, it felt as if I was the only one in the hotel. As there was no one around I needed to make several trips to carry all my heavy luggage up the narrow stairs. I turned the ventilator on in my room and after 10 minutes realised it was causing a very bad smell. For €130 a night, I at least expect the bedding to be washed. If you come to Pisa DO NOT stay here.

The hotel is well located, near Pisa Centrale Station, which is a big plus if u plan to visit the surroundings. The room is outdated, but clean and the aircon was silent. The breakfast is continental (cheese, salami, ham, boiled eggs, butter, cereals, juices and good italian coffee). The staff is very helpful and friendly. We liked that they changed the towels everyday. All in all, the hotel offers decent quality services for the money u pay.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I don’t even know where to start. First of all: worst thing about our room was the bathroom and especially the shower. The shower was mouldy and definitely never got cleaned at all. Also the shower cap was rusty and calcified. I’m sorry but it’s an imposition to let people who pay 199€ for TWO nights stay in this gross and disgusting room. Worth mentioning is also the stuffy air in the room that never goes away even when you open the window for a while. I was just grossed out by that and it was just nasty. Other stuff: Old furnishings, wall painting is really bad and doesn’t even match the ceiling, very small room (double standard). So do yourself a favour and look out for a better hotel in Pisa. I bet everything is more pleasant than this one!
Nadja — Google review
The worst hotel I have ever seen. The door was close and there wasn’t any indication to ring the bell or anything. There was a paper outside the door written that if the check in is after 9pm customers can call 2 numbers and both of them was not reachable. There’s no elevator and no indication to the rooms as well. I had one single room and it’s the worst that i have ever seen in my life, and this is a 3 star hotel!!!! The rooms smelled really bad as if it had been abandoned for a while and there’s a musky smell. The ac worked but you need to lower the temperature to 18 degree Celsius to feel a bit of fresh air. Probably the only positive thing is that it’s close to the main station. I strongly do not recommend this hotel.

Decent place. Clean, nice room, but noisy at night. The free breakfast was really good. Shared bathroom across the hall was really big and no big deal. We had a shower, sink and beday in our room behind a half wall which was nice to have. Wifi was good. Great location!

Really close to the train station, and not too far away walk to the Tower. Very nice reception. Rooms are a great size, and we had a shower in our room also!

This bed and breakfast features traditional accommodation with antique furniture, marble floors, large windows and a flat-screen TV. Some rooms have balconies. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is full. Pets are allowed when booking through the website. There is free parking on the street.
I met the man of the house, he is like a wind, chill and cool, the pace is laid back combined with an ever never ending smile. He, Piero Tallarico, is the one that makes the place to what it is today, an oasis to rest and breath in, BIG hand for this Magic Man. The house is fantastic, sane as the rooms, very nice and clean, charmimg, cosy place. Numero uno is the breakfast room and the garden of Eden - just love it. I wish they had more ”home made” stuff for breakfast, it’s to much ready-made and not organic stuff on the table. This is a top site to stay at, easy access to almost ”everything”, nice surrondings in a very genuine environment, streets are clean, the river beautiful and no litter to find around it. I highly recommend this stay and don’t forget to say Hello to the BIG book lover Piero Tallarico, 5 star guy.

Run away from this hotel! It's bloody cold in January and the owner blocked the heater to the Maximum degrees at 21 and didn't even turn on for a long time. The only hot in this hotel was water. I had to put on an extra blanket, long socks, pants, and a sweater and that wasn't even enough to keep me warm in bed. My face felt so cold that I had to cover it with a blanket. Breakfast was a joke. The hand towels smelled. I can keep rambling on and on. It was such a nightmare to stay there for a night. This hotel would be one of the nightmares I ever had in my life.

Very nice guest house, located in a quiet neighborhood. The room was nice, very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. We could even have a quick coffee at 5.00 am when we needed to leave for the airport. Good value for money.

Owner turns off A/C and all reviews mention the same (check below) Woke up in sweat. Pet-friendly place—few in Pisa. The only downside was the A/C being turned off overnight(it's mid July, 36 degrees :/ ) ; I woke up drenched in sweat, and I see others have mentioned the same.

If you are reading this, run away from this place! We slept here for 3 nights. We ordered a room with a garden view. Unfortunately, it turned out that we only got a room facing the garden... and there was no view of the garden. But maybe it's a good thing because the garden is neglected! It looked like a post-apocalyptic world! Our room stank of mold! The entire bathroom was covered in mold! There was even mold on the ceiling! It's a scandal! Someone wrote that the breakfasts were nice. Maybe it was like that 10 years ago... Now? Old white toasted bread (i.e. the worst) + Cheese sometimes the worst salami I've ever eaten... I do not recommend anyone to sleep in this place! Only the man who served breakfast there was kind enough to change our room to another one that had less mold... RUN AWAY! p.s. The toaster doesn't work, the fridge handle is falling off! Everywhere and everything has either stains or mold! And the aquarium at the entrance is as neglected as the entire hotel! Poor fish! The man who greeted us was totally not nice. SCANDAL

Never experienced such bad hosting. The room and toilet had a very bad smell. It has an electricity problem. Adding to that, the host is another nightmare. We got delayed 10 min to check out time, as we were waiting for the electricity to get the things clear. Keeping that in mind he blamed us for a broken AC remote (which we never touched) that was previously broken by someone.
Sasikanth R — Google review
Rooms are spacious but poorly equipped. When we arrived we had 2 problems, the shower was broken and only working on the top cap so you couldn't use it without washing your hair. The second problem was that the drain for the sink was not working and I had to spend like 30 minutes trying to remove the cover.
Ciprian P — Google review
Very bad Host and I will suggest this hotel to the people who wants to ruin their happiness and interest to visit the Pisa City. 1. Arrogant Behaviour of host 2. No respect to foreigners 3. Bad smelling rooms 4. If you check out 10 minutes late due to unplanned situations , he cannot understand and starts showing arrogant behaviour. 5. Trying to manipulate you by asking to pay more by creating new stories of damages which are not done by you 6. If you are four people with family in a room with single bathroom , he demands all should eat breakfast at same time. If mother and child goes first to have breakfast as kids are hungry meanwhile father is in bath room and want to have later breakfast during checkout then it is bigger problem to him because he don’t want to clean the dining room once again. - Please tell me guys is it mandatory that everyone should eat at same time??. - In any case you don’t have right to shout as you should remember your Business still exists because of customers. You need to be gentile, and kind and let them know their mistakes not that you shout like only you have a bigger mouth. This is not to prove someone are bad or to take revenge because someone shout on me like a child. - Revenges are taken by Kids, Intelligent ignore but people with intelligence and Wise nature try to ignore and try to help others choosing worthy decisions. The Rif - Boutique Hotel is a stylish and trendy accommodation located in Pisa, just 500 meters from the famous Piazza dei Miracoli. The hotel offers a convenient and safe location, with easy access to nearby attractions such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Botanical Gardens. Guests can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere in the hotel's divine garden and comfortable, clean beds.
Absolutely loved this hotel! The staff need a pay rise! The way they looked after us was beyond exceptional. The receptionist was always on call for our requests and helped us all the time for our queries and asks. The chef/waitress of the restaurant for our breakfast and dinner was very welcoming and always asking us if we were okay and looked after. She really made us feel at home. The location of this hotel was amazing as we could literally walk to the Tower of Pisa in about 5 mins and close to the train station to get to Florence. The facilities and cleanliness of the rooms were beyond expectation too. Sometimes the owner when passing by would stop to have a chat with us. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed at and we will definitely come back. If you want an amazing stay and experience in Pisa please stay here. 100% recommend! 😊

You couldn't ask for a better location that offers secure parking. You can see the Leaning Tower of Pisa from the street in front of the hotel. It's a ten-minute walk. The rooms are a good size and the A/C works well. Be aware that the halls have a bit of an echo. Breakfast is out on the terrace and is quite calming with the sound of the waterfall. Selection is adequate and the staff is quite helpful.

We have just returned from a 5 night break at The Rif and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotels location is superb as it is only about 300 meters from The Miracle Square, which includes the tower, the cathedral and the baptistery. We stayed in the suite, which was huge and had a fantastic balcony/terrace which had two sunbeds and chairs and a table. We used this every day when we returned from our daily sightseeing trips. It was a great way to wind down and relax before we headed off for dinner.

The hotels was very nice and lovely. The garden with the fountain was beautiful. The room and bathroom was great, we needed more space for clothes, mayby some drawers or a dresser. 5 hangers for two people was not enough. There where some small mistakes with only one coffee for two people one day, the next day only one coffee cup.

Great location, right next to the main sights, which makes it comfortable and convenient even on a hot summer weather. The rooms are very cozy with air condition and very clean. Staff is very attentive, friendly and professional. Great breakfast also with an amazing terrasse to enjoy it at (big shout out to Samantha for the great breakfast service!). Totally recommended if you are thinking to visit Pisa and looking for a great, convenient location!

A very nice historical building setup. Short walk to train station and the walled city with Pisa Tower only 8 minutes walk away. I arrived early thinking to store my luggage there first before checking in. But a very beatiful hostess by the name of Francesca told me to wait for a few minutes and had a room ready for me. However, she wasn't working the next morning as I was checking out. The other hostess at the reception wasn't at all friendly. She seems to me a little discriminatory with attitude.

What a find. Literally 2 minute walk from the tower, yet so quiet. The garden was an oasis of calm. Sipping a chilled Prosecco or three with my wife in the cool of the evening will stay with me for ever. The staff were super friendly and their English was impeccable. Simone was especially helpful. They arranged the transfer from the airport which went smoothly. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I visited Pisa for the first time and we are happy that we stayed at the Riff Boutique Hotel for four nights. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Good breakfast, very comfortable area with a fountain, and most importantly, very professional and friendly staff — from the front desk administrators to the room cleaners. There is a designated smoking area where you can enjoy a cigar without disturbing other guests. I definitely recommend it. Mikhail

The Hotel Relais Dell'Orologio is a five-star hotel in Pisa, Italy that offers a variety of services and amenities to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The hotel has been beautifully restored in an old 14th-century building, and features stunning original frescoes and flowery patio gardens. The property also offers free Wi-Fi access and a breakfast buffet. The staff are friendly and professional, with limousine service available on request.
we stayed here as a family for one night to be close to Pisa Airport for our return flight to Dublin, The hotel was very clean, the rooms spotless, comfortable and quiet. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Despite the fact that we were checking out early at 7am we were given a continental breakfast which was fresh and tasty. We were also given some bottled water and sandwiches to take on our journey even though we had not ordered them. The hotel is only a 3 minute walk to The Leaning Tower and the airport was a short 15 minute drive in a taxi which cost €18 for a party of 4 people with 4 suitcases and hand luggage. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a clean reasonably priced hotel in the center of Pisa and would stay there again if we ever return to Tuscany.
Mary K — Google review
The Relais is what it is, a centuries old townhouse in a central part of town converted into a hotel. The advantages of this is a charming hotel in a great location 5-10 minutes to the main tourist sites, restaurants and shops. The disadvantages are that the rooms may be smaller than those accustomed to more modern hotels may expect. However, the rooms are en-suite, air-conditioned and are perfectly adequate. The breakfast is a generous buffet of typically continental fare.
Koon T — Google review
The place rates itself with 5 stars. For this it is a disappointment. Our room had no hot water. Hand warm plus was the max. Room cleaning very slow and breakfast service very slow. Not the waiters fault. But one person was just not sufficient. The bath also had no sufficient ventilaton. The staff in general was friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient. But again, for a place rating 5 stars this is definitely not good enough
Marc A — Google review
Charming hotel with an easy walk to restaurants and the tourist sites. The room was nice, the bathroom was large and it had the largest shower of the three hotels we stayed at in Italy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast dramatically exceeded my expectations: scrambled eggs, bacon, delicious meats and cheeses (truffle cheese!), caviar, smoked salmon, plus the usual stuff you see on Italian hotel breakfast buffets. All they need to do is add some nice crackers for the cheese and caviar and some cream cheese and capers for the smoked salmon. Prosecco and orange juice makes a great Mimosa! Tea drinker? There was a huge selection. Plenty of items for typical eaters, too: a complete sweet table with Italian bread and pastries, plus fruit, yogurt and a lot more that I missed. We had a great stay at a very reasonable price. Book without hesitation!
Paradise R — Google review
Excellent location, however a 3 star hotel at best, not worth the money. The rooms are cramped and while we there, the hotel couldn't turn the air conditioning on despite the 30 degree heat. We unfortunately left an item of clothing on check out, and it has taken 5 emails and 3 phone calls from another hotel in Italy to try and get this back. Still unsuccessful. If I came to Pisa again I would not stay here.
John J — Google review
This hotel is going down. It is clear that there are not so many turist in Pisa then there used to be but it does not explain bad quality and standard. Toilet was dirty! It was late when we checked in and the only thing that I wanted to do was to go to sleep. That is why we did not spoke the same day about the issue. But this situation is an absolut disaster. Toilet was Yellow!!! Floor was dirty. Coofee in the room was old and clearly used in this apartment several times (the package was awfully crumpled). It was also very loud in the room. It is directly conected to the room next to it and separator with only 2 plates of wooden door that can be easily open from both sides!!!!! This is absolutely unacceptable!!!! It is realy hard for me to explain how bad this hotel is comparing to how expensive is the cost!!! And the view (on the city, at least that is what they said) from the Window... so sad... so bad... I was never so angry about bad standard and quality then right now!!!!

Nestled in the heart of Pisa, Pensione Rinascente offers a charming escape with its simply decorated rooms adorned with antiques that evoke a sense of nostalgia. This unpretentious hotel is perfect for both business travelers and tourists, providing essential amenities like Wi-Fi, luggage storage, and a cozy bar. Guests rave about the warm hospitality from Pina, the delightful 97-year-old host whose genuine charm makes every stay feel special.
We booked after reading the reviews. It was like a trip back in time. I speak Italian so that helped but Pina is really one of a kind. She’s a lady of 97 who is so sweet and genuine. It was like staying in a renaissance dream. Check in and check out were slow indeed but it was well worth listening to Pina and offering her some company. Would recommend, you won’t regret booking there. We stayed there with two little kids as part of our Tuscany trip and we haven’t slept as well as we did there anywhere else. It was comfortable, quite and dark in the rooms which gave us a great night sleep !
Marta C — Google review
This is the worst accommodation I have stayed in during all my years of traveling! There's no WiFi. The hot water in the bathroom only lasts for a few minutes, which means we couldn't even take a hot shower to relieve the fatigue of the journey. In the end, the three of us couldn't shower for two days. The reception was an elderly woman who didn't speak English, so communication was impossible. I tried to leave a message on Booking, but received no response. Furthermore, while we can understand the room being small, the single bed was a very poor quality spring mattress with no support, causing noticeable back pain. Moreover, my child was bitten by unknown insects, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. In the end, the three of us had to squeeze onto the other double bed. The room window couldn't close properly, so for two nights, it was left slightly open, making it difficult to block out the noisy street sounds. All of this made our mood extremely bad.
Christine Z — Google review
Avoid this place. We arrived late and exhausted only to learn our booking was cancelled last minute. Communication was hard as we don't speak Italian and they can't speak English. There was another group there that had the same predicament as us. We are frequent travellers and have never had this last minute cancellation happen to us. Place doesn't look well kept and judging from other peoples review here we were spared a horrible stay. We paid a little more at another place due to short notice but their facilities were so much better.
Yahf G — Google review
The owner was friendly because I arrived roughly on time, but she is 98 and speaks no English, and I speak very little Italian. Google Translate only got us so far, plus a small amount of French, but we eventually navigated check-in and acquisition of the 3 keys. The WiFi did not work, even with me looking at the internet router. The shower was very small, cold and with a broken pressure jet. Definitely a unique experience!
MostlyLoveOfMusic — Google review
Absolutely fab location right in the heart of Pisa. Check in was hard work for me as I didn't speak any Italian and the owner didn't speak any English. Wasn't provided with a key to the main building so had to be buzzed in by the owner who wasn't happy as it was 10pm. Seemed angry that I had taken my bedroom key from the building. I only stayed for one of my two reserved nights as it was too stressful and I felt that the owner was quite controlling about how I made use of the facilities and was impossible to communicate with. Shared bathroom facilities very minimal. No Wifi as described. Not a great stay.
James N — Google review
Be aware and do not book this accomodation. This old lady is great liar. She stole money from us. We had reservation confirmed for 4 months and she wont let us in and told us she is sold out (we dont speak italian, but we are assuming that was what she was yelling at us from window). Our worst experience with accomodation ever!
Dana Š — Google review
My partner and I have visited many times and always receive a warm welcome. Paolo and his Aunt are very accomodating and nothing is too much trouble. The place is restful and quiet and within easy reach of shops, restaurants and the walk to the bus and train station is not too far away.

Great place! A bit from the central of town but it wights up with a beautiful garden and free bike rental, the rooms was romantic and perfect. The communication was easy and direct, we did not miss anything! If/when I return to Pisa this is my first choice!

The room is clean, the bikes are nice to take you to the city center. Although the city center is only 10 minutes cycling, the neighbourhood is not nice. The room is very noisy at night (they provide earplugs in advance, but that does tell something about the noise…). They call themselves a bed and breakfast but only provide a simple breakfast box with nothing fresh and without cutlery. Just a very average stay, we booked it because of the high rating on Google, but if you ask us, that is absolutely not worth it.

The B&B offers modest quarters, some with whirlpool tubs, and complimentary Wi-Fi. With its prime location, guests can easily explore the medieval Cathedral of Pisa and Piazza del Duomo.
Our Flight was delayed and we missed the last train from Pisa airport. We were delighted to have the host check in with us and provide all the information for smooth access to our room. We were pleasantly surprised to find some complimentary snacks an fruit to keep body&soul together. The location is perfect, tucked into the narrow old town streets. The room was large and cool and the wooden shutters totally blocked out the morning sun. The room was restocked each day. And the staff were very friendly. There was loads of hot water in a nice shower and lots of towels.

Very nice apartment. We had booked five out of six rooms. All rooms are very spacious. We got a lot of information, recommendations and instructions from the owner before arrival. The apartment is located in a very nice area with a lot of restaurants. It was not easy to get a taxi on the day of departure. We had to walk to the train station to get one.
Josefine G — Google review
The staff were lovely, but if you're thinking of booking here you need to know, room size was adequate for our stay, but not very big. If you have a car, good luck finding it, really narrow streets in a restricted traffic zone, you must get the hotel to get you a 90 minute exemption. When you do get there, you'll find 24 steep steps up to the hotel floor with no lift. I think they only have 5 rooms? Having got your bags in, you have to go and find blue street parking, work out how to use the machine, locals helped us, then walk 10 minutes back to the hotel & find it again. The upside is that it's in a great position, and as I said, the two ladies running it were lovely.

Relais dei Mercanti B&B and Suites is a wonderful place to stay in Pisa, right in the heart of the historic center. Its central location makes it easy to explore the city on foot and truly take in the charm of Pisa. The decor has a warm, personal touch—more like staying at a relative’s home than at a typical chain hotel, which adds to the overall experience.

This is a very small hotel with just 7 rooms and an entrance hall room, but was perfect for our stay in Pisa. There is no restaurant or meals provided, however there are abundant restaurants nearby and the manager was able to provide a basic in-room continental breakfast free of charge in our room each day. There is good air conditioning and the room is completely quiet and dark with shutters closed. Lovely historic building and rooms and the location is superb. Great for a long weekend in Pisa.

This was my girlfriends and I first time staying at a b&b and it was a good experience. It was a little difficult to find as the taxi driver dropped us off a block away so we ended up walking right past the place, however you’ll learn your way around as Pisa is small. Place was really clean and put together. Check in is very seamless. Very secure and in a great area. The bed was a little firm but not too bad. We never used the hot tub portion. One thing to note is that the water pressure coming from the head is minimal but it got the job done. Walking distance to just about every where. I emailed the owner and they set up a taxi for us to get back to the airport which was really convenient. I really do recommend this place if you’re staying in Pisa, a great price for what you get.

Room 1 is lovely and big. It does have a small shower but it's perfectly functional. Our host was very lovely as was her spaniel. She, the host not the spaniel, recommended La Tana restaurant and the town of Lucca. We went to both and they were excellent recommendations.

We booked for a Sunday. We arrived at 1:45 pm and rang and rang the doorbell to no answer. Eventually, we called the number on the booking reference. We explained we were outside and could not get in, we were told very bluntly that check-in closes at 12:00 noon on Sundays. We did not know this and when we explained that and the fact that our flight only got in at that time, she simply said "no, check-in is closed" and hung up. We tried to call again and she was not answering. After about ten minutes we rang again, this time she answered but when she heard it was us she hung up. You are probably thinking that I was rude to her or aggressive on the phone but I swear, I was not. We were charged for our non-stay. We had to find alternative accommodation, it was then I tried to find where it said check-in was only until noon. I did find it, but only after about ten minutes of filling in a 'pretend booking', it was right at the bottom of the fine print, which you had to click a link to get to, and after it clearly in bold print said that check-in was between 12:00 and 20:00 pm. I found the woman incredibly rude, no apology for it not being clear or any offer of help, even a 'well we will have to charge you a late check-in fee would have been acceptable, but no, just a hung call.

Worst hotel ever. They promised us they would give my license plate to the police zo we could park on their lot, but never did. I now have a fine of over 400 euros, which would be solved if they gave my plate to the police. It has almost been 2 years that I am calling them. The first times they said they would solve it but never did and now they dont respond to any of my calls or emails. Super bad management.

After booking online and staying out check in time, on the day of check in the hotel said we couldn't check in at that time but we would be charged. Lost money with no explanation of why it was not possible. Terrible and seems I'm not the first.

Really wonderful welcome. Picked up from the airport and driven to the accomodation by staff. Beautiful building, great facilities and location

The place was extremely clean. You can eat on the floor😁👌 It’s very quiet and the bed is very comfortable. You have all you need in the room and the kitchen is very well equipped. Yana is amazing…. Thank you so much🙏💫 Only 1 thing, the shower pressure is very low. But It’s not that important. ;)

One minute from the railway station. 25 minutes of walking from the airport. Big room, comfortable bed, good wifi signal. There is a small kitchen with simple stuff.

The owner tried to scam me. She also accused me of stealing the room keys. The worst person i ever met. Avoid at all cost.

(Translated by Google) Attention! A story involving the police. 1. Data and photos of minor children are collected here, as well as bank card data - this is a violation of the law. 2. Additional payments arise, as a result it is more profitable to stay at the hotel. 3. If you want to stay here - NEVER PAY IN ADVANCE. A lot of text, but I hope it will help you not to get into such a mess as I did. I paid for this room from 18.06 to 19.06. Booking via booking.com. It says - a hostel, you think there should be a reception there. No data was previously provided that they force you to go through registration here, which kills human dignity. Only after I was charged the entire amount, the owner put me before the fact that I have to 1.-provide photos of the passports of the residents (this is ok). 2. Take a picture with my passport in my hands and SUBMIT A PHOTO OF MY MINOR CHILD WITH HER PASSPORT to some unknown website, arguing that the police want it (later I went to the police, asked - the police don't need our photos). 3. Pay the city tax, which I had already paid for booking and provided the owner with a receipt. My phone was running low, the child wanted to go to the toilet, we arrived at 10:15 PM, and I asked to provide the code first. This is where the "customer orientation" came into play. The owner sent me a link to an unknown site and stupidly blocked me in the chat. Ok, even if this is a principled position - not to let minor children into the premises without a photo and handing out bank card data, why can't we say it in a human way? For example, "unfortunately I can't, but there is a McDonald's nearby; there are sockets, a toilet and dinner there". Guests don't navigate the city. Such information was not provided. Then I paid the same tax that I paid to Booking a second time. It is not very large, but it is the amount for which our family could eat ice cream in a cafe. Then this “businessman” or “businesswoman” wrote that without a live photo of my minor child along with his/her passport, there will be no settlement. I went to the police. The police are in the station building opposite. They called a mobile squad for me and together we tried to get into the building or call the owner. The police confirmed that collecting personal data in this way is prohibited. And that this is really “twisting the arms” of customers who, after paying in full, cannot go anywhere. The same police officers were simply humanly surprised by such requirements, because you can upload any photos, and then other people will come to live. In other words, this requirement not only violates human dignity, but also makes no sense. Via Guido da Pisa, 1 - the police station where I will file a complaint for such actions. I will go there today. As a result, the hotel manager sent another email demanding to upload a photo of the child. Together with the police witnesses, we did it, and recorded this action. After that, I received a code. We went into the room. The room looks like in the photo, but very smoky. We had to sit with the windows open, and under the windows - the train station. In the end, I went to brush my teeth, bent over the sink, and there was a specific hair (not from the head). From stress, worries about the child, and an unpleasant smell, I felt sick. Such great impressions of the room. Thank you to the "customer-oriented" management for the wonderful impressions. Thank you booking.com for not warning that the room was illegally collecting information and mocking human dignity. P.S. I am posting the last letter from the manager here. I understand that it is standard. Pay attention to the last line. „🧿Whatever you desire for me, may God it send doubly to you🙏🙌 „. This company clearly has “very grateful customers” - every guest, if they had to add this mantra to the standard mailing list. „🧿Whatever you desire for me, may God it send doubly to you🙏🙌 „. Явно у цієї компанії «дуже вдячні клієнти» - кожен гість, якщо вони змушені були додати цю мантру у стандартну розсилку.
