Really enjoyed this ice cream spot — it’s a proper gelateria with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I tried the olive oil ice cream, which was interesting but a bit too strong in flavor for me. The pistachio was smooth and tasty (though I did miss the crunch of real nuts), and the fig slushie was excellent. Overall, not the absolute best ice cream I’ve ever had, but still really, really good. Definitely worth 5 stars.

You know how sometimes you’ll read the one and two star reviews of a place and you’ll find something along the lines of “I don’t know how this place gets such high ratings!”? Well, in the case of Gelateria De’ Coltelli my wife and I can’t figure how this place can get any LOW ratings! 🤔 We’ve been to many of the major regions and cities in Italy, and have tried the gelaterias wherever we go. This is by far one of the best we have ever been to. If all people are used to is gelato with the standard overdose of fat, sugar, and concentrated flavor - and consider that “the best”, then you may not appreciate what you’d taste here. The flavors are sometimes subtle, but they are always natural and (for us) have a lovely balance of being refreshing and creamy. We’ve been here three times (so far!) and tried 6 of the flavors they have. There’s something unique and wonderful about all of them, but as a caution you shouldn’t necessarily combine any flavor with any other flavor or you might lose the essence of one over the other. You might not want to, for example, mix plum with blueberry (we didn’t, as the nice young lady behind the counter let me try two flavors when I asked which would go better with plum)! 😄 I don’t see this as a negative, as you can get your everyday supersaturated technicolor flavors* at any of a number of other gelaterias in Pisa (which we’ve tried - some rated higher than this place but having the standard assembly line flavors). Go here if you want a more out of the ordinary - and tasty - gelato. Additionally, at all times we’ve been treated very nicely by three different young ladies for each of visits. *(Now having said this, my wife and I have also had wonderful, more classic heavier cream and sugar gelatos in Italy and elsewhere. Hey, if they’re good, they’re good. But Gelateria De’ Coltelli does it their way, and their way is very good and a bit more unique!)

I've read is the best ice cream and honestly i was a bit sceptic and thought i'ts just a tourist trap but ice cream is amazing. Could be the best i've ever tried. So creamy. Yumm. An amazing historical spot — the oldest gelateria in Pisa! There’s always a line, and it’s easy to see why. This is the best ice cream I’ve ever had — and I’ve tried a lot! A huge variety of flavors for every taste. If you’re in Pisa, don’t hesitate to spend some time (and money) to try this gelato. I’ll definitely come back here if I ever visit Pisa again. A must visit in Pisa if you want to take a break from walking and enjoy a delicious ice cream. Many flavors to pick from. The line might be long at times but moves on fast and the space to sit is a bit limited but totally worth the visit!

The line was very long for this place, but it moved pretty quickly, which we appreciated whilst standing in the hot sun. You could tell it was full of tourists like us, but the quality of the gelato was definitely worth it! I would definitely return here!

This is by far one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had in my life. Each flavour is unique and well balanced and the texture is wonderful. The basmati rice flavour in particular blew me away! What can I say? The gelato may be the nicest I’ve ever had. I ordered one scoop of stracciatella and one nocciola, and it was beyond delicious. Creamy, tasty, fresh and with quality ingredients. The owner was also really, really lovely. Everything is handmade with love, and you can tell. We had the chance to be served by Andre who was very kind and welcoming. We tried the basmati rice, yogurt and ricotta with blueberries which was absolutely amazing! We even got whipped cream and a biscuit for it. Absolutely delicious experience! Highly recommend. ✨✨

Oh my gosh! Best gelato and best service we experienced in Italy. We tried gelato every day traveling from Milan, Venice, Florence and Pisa. This spot in Pisa was our favorite by far. The owner was so nice and friendly. He makes delicious and good ingredients DAILY rotating flavors every day. The quality was amazing! I’ll be dreaming about this gelato for forever, will be back one day!!!

Great food, good service. Portions are on the slightly smaller side, but everything tastes delicious and the wait staff are lovely. Nice spot for a date or for a quiet dinner with friends away from the more tourist-filled centre.

I went here with my best-friend on our little trip through Tuscany. The restaurant is really stylish, but in my opinion a bit too minimalistic. They received us with a glass of Blanc de Blancs: delicious! And very kind of course They have a really nice menu with super fresh ingredients. For starter we had a fresh raw fish plate and 3 different fish tartare plate : both of high quality but I'm not very keen of fruit with my dish, which the tartare all had. Afterwords we had spaghetti with blu lobster and shellfish sauce ( suuuuper nice ) and a kind of ravioli filled with octopus and a local red shrimp sauce ( also excellent ). Nice wine menu and the overall experience was great! Grazie!

Nice place to stop and relax! They have different variety of sweets and food! Just they need to improve cleaning of toilets, otherwise it’s really nice!

Historical bar where you can enjoy delicious drinks and pasticcerie. I recommend to try the special "Salsa caffè" and take a look at the internal tea room, where you can admire old and beautiful prints of Pisa.

Salza is a world class cafe and bakery. To top it off, their prices are incredibly affordable, especially in comparison to what you'll see in Florence. This place is a MUST when visiting Pisa. I visited twice during my 5 hour stay in the city.

Their staff is very friendly and arty! Look how beautiful the cappuccino is and it is delicious. The espresso is slightly stronger than other cafes to my taste but it is exactly how I like my cappuccino. They also have a wide varieties of speciality coffee (like Bicertin!)that I would love to try in the futures

The best tiramisu we had all through our trip! Their cannolis and sandwiches are very fresh and this is the first place we were able to fill up our water bottles from the bar 🤣.

The best vegan food in Pisa! Amazing! The sharing cheese board and honey is so good. The pizzas are really luxurious and they add plenty of toppings. I’ve been twice and still been unable to finish a whole one 😂 Service is friendly and helpful and the location is 5 mins away from the tower so you get a breather from the crowds as well. Highly recommend, thank you for the great, imaginative vegan food.

Vegan cheese board was delicious! Nice variety of cheeses and fruit and (vegan) honey, so good. We also tried the two vegan pizzas, both very good. Stand out was the gorgonzola and sausage (all vegan) pizza. Seriously the best pizza we tried in Italy. Lovely dining experience sitting outdoors near the public park. Good selection of local wines. Stopped at this random restaurant for lunch near the university and parking lot. Pasta was decent, had the pasta ragu toscani and Vongole - both great. Ordered the seafood soup although it wasn’t very soupy, more like a seafood platter. Lunch took relatively long to serve but was a beautiful day out. Food is decent but not mind blowing

Tagliata di manzo was very, very tough and chewy. Almost felt like i need a nap after hard chewing. 🤣 Deffinetely the worst steak i ever had. Potatoes tastes good. I got my salad when i almost done with meat and potatoes. So i just left it. Strawberry spritz was very good

For a restaurant that claims to serve proper main dishes, this was a real letdown. Definitely not worth the price.

There are a bunch of reviews already that speak to empty cases for gluten free options. I'll add my own picture here taken at 7:15am. So, here's the thing. I understand getting to a bakery later in the day and not seeing much - especially for gluten free options. They're expensive, more labor intensive, and the demand is just a fraction of normal demand. Knowing this, we scouted the place a few days ago and found a nearly empty case. No problem, it was a scouting visit. We asked the staff there if more options were available the next day. He told us to get there right at the opening to ensure we'd have our pick. OK, that makes sense. Then we went at 7:15 - actually waiting for the gate to be lifted while the workers were setting up tables / filling cases. There was only what you see in my photo: full cases of gluten containing foods, and a few sad leftovers from prior days (plural) that clearly aren't moving. That brings me to the next thing. If you look at the label, it contains: E471 Mono-/diglycerides Emulsifier Can be animal or plant origin E330 Citric acid Acidulant, antioxidant Usually safe, but industrial E202 Potassium sorbate Preservative Very low toxicity E160b Annatto Natural coloring Rare allergic reactions So... these are not made fresh. Don't expect them to be. You will, however, pay a premium price for it. I asked the staff why the case was empty and the story changed. Now, apparently, you're supposed to come in at 10am, not 7:30am. OK. Basically, if you come here you are taking your chances on if there will be anything at all. You have no idea if anything was made fresh. You will, however, pay a lot for it. I just can't endorse this place when compared to other bakeries we have encountered in Italy.

A good place a few steps away from the Pisa tower. Coffee was good and there were lots of pastry's to try. The cake's were mouth watering unfortunately couldn't taste. The ambience was good, very well maintained clean and tidy. the staff were friendly, quick service. Overall a good place to taste different types of bakery items and coffee.

What I particularly appreciated was the flexibility in portioning: you can mix three flavors in one cup, regardless of the size you choose. Naturally, I took full advantage and tried five different flavors in total. All of them were delicious, but the standout was without question the chocolate, incredibly creamy, rich, and full of flavor. An absolute favorite and a must-try if you’re nearby. We went to this place, very randomly for our daily gelato. We went for the basic flavors : pistachio and white chocolate. …Mamma mia. It was the creamiest, smoothest, most intensely flavored gelato I have ever had in my life. Every bite felt like I was experiencing it for the first time. Now, I am no gelato connoisseur, but I trust my flavor buds, and my flavor buds were telling me to sell my house, use the money to buy the biggest diamond ring and marry my cup of gelato. 100% this place will see me everyday for the rest of my trip. I had the gorgonzola, walnut cream and prosciutto with added boar salami and it was fantastic. Excellent prices, good and friendly service and had a local feel to it, even though they had an English version of the menu, which was very handy. Loads of choice and I couldn't fault it. A loaded pizza, a can of coke, plus cover, for about €12. You can't go wrong, would definitely recommend it.

Pizza night on San Ranieri in Pisa makes it hard to find a table, but we found one at "Pizzeria Nika". My husband and I were visiting from Canada and our host, my best friend from Pisa took us there. Among the crowd we were able to be seated. Even though the place was packed but they managed to serve us quite fast. One of the best gastronomy experiences in Italy. We came because of one family member with celiac problem. Our expectations were not high because gluten free meals are difficult to master. Food, kindness and friendlyness of staff are hard to descibe. Bruschette, steak and focaccia are my recommendation. Reservation is a good idea.

This place is something special. The team is on a mission to make dining feel normal for people with celiac disease. I dined here twice during my trip and took bread home. The bread is amazing!!! I cannot stop thinking about it. Service is outstanding, as is the bruschetta! Agatha went above and beyond to provide an amazing experience.

Visited here on a recent trip to Pisa - and it was great. We were given a bag of bread which I think was the best GF bread I’ve ever had. We had a pasta dish each from the really extensive menu and they were really good. We then shared the beef which was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we’ll definitely visit next time we’re in Pisa.

This is the first fully gluten free restaurant I’ve ever been to, I was in heaven! The bread was so light and fluffy and I would highly recommend the “Tasty” focaccia sandwich it was incredible! We even got another one to take away. We also tried the pasta and the tiramisu both of which were good.

Very nice caffe with even nicer coffee and delicious sweets like brioche or croissants. You should definitely try pistachio latte, it’s truly great! Caffe inside has only couple of tables and patio. Traditionally local during the morning are just drinking quick coffee at the counter and leaving so I didn’t found this as a problem.

Quick breakfast before our Pisa visit. We found this on the walk from the station, as this was further in the town, it was a bit quieter. Coffee was good, pastries seemed fresh.

For lunch unfortunately very bad. Just warmed up in the microwave, overcooked and not very tasty. Badest lasagne in my life for 9€. The coffee was good. We will not come back… You shouldn’t offer things you can’t cook 😕

Visited here on a recent trip to Pisa. It’s a bit out of the town centre but is worth the trip. The choice was overwhelming - I’m used to just a couple of GF options but here there were entire cabinets of various pastries and cakes and cookies - as well as savoury options. I ordered a selection of pastries and they were great - and surprisingly good value. I also took a savoury pizza thing away which was very good a few hours later. Definitely worth the trip if you want a GF croissant - just next time I’ll look into a bus to save the walk.

Mouthwatering authentic flavours! I highly recommend the pistachio gelato which comes with bits of pistachio nuts. The tiramisu flavour worked really well in this combination whilst on its own it seemed a bit too sweet.

Was a glorious warm day in Pisa for this Australian tourist in search of yummy, creamy and flavourful home made gelato! This place was calling my name from this store near the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I had the salted caramel and the chocolate...cute little wafer adds a nice touch and crunch. It is a small shop and service was friendly and staff spoke both Italian and English. There are lots of gelato stores around this tourist attraction but give this place serious consideration as it was delicious and reasonably priced given it is in a highly touristic precinct!

The first time I went, it wasn't closed but the lady waved me out. I ended up going again the next day, they had a different person working and tried it since I wanted to try a lot of the different gelatos in the area. It was okay. It wasn't the best I have had in the area

I just love it! What shall I say? Here you can find lovely coffees, hot chocolates and cappuccinos as nowhere else! It's quite small and cozy inside, but that makes it even more a nice little negozietto of olden times, almost. Staff is very nice and prices are totally worth the good quality of drinks, patisserie and service. To enjoy it more, if you have time, go during the week, so that it won't be too crowded.

Lovely breakfast before the morning flight. The cafe is very close to the airport and has a nice sitting area outside. The staff was very efficient even so there were many people and barista looked like he had at least four arms. Most of the people seemed to be locals, so they know the best places in town. Pastries were very good and the choice was exciting. There were some savories too. Prices are very reasonable: it was just about €11 for 3 coffee, 3 brioche, bambolone and a sandwich

Highly recommend this place. I’ve been here three times and each time was in the morning, and it was busy. The coffee is excellent, the service is always with a smile and a laugh, the pastries, cakes and croissants are outstanding. It did loose a star for service and that’s because when it’s busy it felt like a free for all.

Great coffee, great food. Some of the best donuts in the world and this is from a man who has eaten donuts on 5 continents. Breakfast was crowded and the staff work very quickly but I did not feel that they were rude at all. More matter of fact and maybe a bit rushed but not unpleasant or rude. If you are at Pisa international and want to get a little exercise and treat yourself to an exquisite donut or a good panini and good coffee this is more than worth the 8 min walk!!!

These are the BEST doughnuts I’ve ever had! So affordable too. Great choice of toppings, filled fresh in front of you, staff was nice and friendly, they are so delicious I would recommend highly. I visited in April 2025.

Donuts here are just amazing. Only €2.50 each, freshly made right in front of you with the filling of your choice. We went for mascarpone and Kinder Bueno — both were gooey, warm, and delicious. The donut itself is soft, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. At this price and quality, it’s pretty much unbeatable.

I love a late night doughnut shop, and this a great one! The bombolones are freshly baked, constantly, then tossed in sugar, sliced open and filled to order. They are outstanding! The softest I've ever eaten, quite sweet but not too much and with delicious fillings, a real treat. The plain ring is amazing, dulce de leche is sweet and indulgent. The lemon and orange add a lovely bit of tang but my favourite may be the happy hippo! A messy but delicious combination of crema and hazlenut flavours 😋 If I lived in Pisa, I would eat a lot of these bombolones 😃

I just loved these bombs! and Alejandro was so helpful! The Spot: It's a small spot, only for takeout. You can also enjoy your bimb at one of the chairs outside. The Bombs: They taste like a donut and are fresh, affordable, and really delicious. We ordered one stuffed with cream, and it was so good that we ordered two more to go—one with kinder and one with pistachio. The Service: Alejandro helped us choosing and recommending us flavors. He was extremely warm and kind. Parking: They don't have a dedicated lot, but you can find street parking nearby. Final Thoughts: I would definitely come back!

It can be quite busy, but service is fast (and all the staff are very friendly and professional). They have vegetable milk (soy), and the soy milk cappuccino is great.

Our top marks go to Ricardo who gave the best service in all of the cafes and restaurants we visited in Tuscany. We are all senior citizens and he made us feel welcome and valued. He very quickly learned what we liked to order (his memory is phenomenal)He was respectful, professional and , importantly, a lot of fun, and this is why we kept returning to this cafe. If you're looking for a hearty meal and like to end it with good dessert, than look no further. This is more than a Gelateria; it's a great restaurant with very tasty options, and generous portions. We had the best Gnocchi there, and the focaccia was incredible! We also got to try the ricotta and figs gelato, which tasted so fresh and homemade. The owner is very helpful and nice, and made sure we enjoyed our time at the restaurant.

My two daughters and I happened to try this AMAZING restaurant in Marina di Pisa! In our 3 months stay and travels from Salerno to Milan, it was absolutely the best pasta dishes we have had! One of the best gelatos I've ever had. My family and I had the chocolate mousse, caramello, and pistachio. So so so good! Also this is on the path from the train station (Pisa Centrale) to the Tower of Pisa, so it's the perfect way to cool off after a walk.

We had 4 flavors: Coco, melon, milk and berries. All flavors were creamy and had very intense flavors. The waitress doesnt speak english but will still try to find ways to communicate with you.

They say that you eat with your eyes...well we couldn't. We tried a few flavours. The pistachio and stracciatella were nice. Pasticceria Calise David Location: Via Maiorca, Marina di Pisa (Surprised that they don’t have an Insta page.) Espresso was gorgeous! Pastries looked great but tasted mediocre, except sfogliatelle which was delicious. Place was recommended by hotel owner and she said it is a popular cafe among the locals for coffee. My mistake that I assumed it is great for pastries too 😁 Prices were very low compared with the UK. A big plus. Anyway, good coffee was enough to cheer me up and start the day on positive vibes!

I did not even go into the store and taste the yogurt. So why am I giving this place 3 stars? It’s because I want to 5 different gelato places and they were all closed. They were not open on hours listed here on Google. One at least had a sign that said they’re close for the winter. The others were just closed. I was told that Italians don’t like to eat gelato when the weather is cold. If that is the case, I will be nice it was reflected on here. But apparently, it is not the issue was frozen yogurt. I did not come to Italy to eat frozen yogurt. But I give this place 3 stars for being open at the hours stated on here.

Wow! This place is absolutely, unbelievably great! Everyone was super kind and patient with our broken Italian and the pastries were out of this world delicious for an incredibly fair price. The cappuccino was delightful and perfectly frothy. Don't waste your time anywhere else!

After a long walk through beautiful Pisa I found this lovely pasticceria " Lando Sassetti". I had an eclair-like pastry filled with chocolate cream AND one of this almond rolls filled with? Chocolate 😆of course! I can't decide which one tasted better both were equally absolutely delicious. My beautiful wife had a pastry cone filled with egg custard and was delighted with the rich flavour of it. Caffè Latte had a nice thick layer of foam (just as I like it 😋).

Amazing place with several self produced pastries cakes pies and savory things... The coffee is italian style and excellent. The prices are in the average despite the quality is at the highest standard.

We ordered 2 cappuccinos and a pizza slice and a cornetti. Everything was amazing. The coffee actually tasted like a cappuccino from Australia. The pizza slice had an unbelievable tomato and oregano taste that goes beyond words. If you're on the way to the Leaning Tower, do yourself a favour and stop here, you won't regret it.
