Love this place! Staff welcomed us in for a nice lunch. I had the clam and muscle soup, fantastic. My wife had the clam and muscle spaghetti, it too was unbelievable. the sauce was one of the best i have ever tasted. If you are into really good food, try this place.

Really enjoyed our evening here and would go back again. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. There were only three waitresses but they worked really well together while still finding time to answer any questions about the menu. Ravioli were superb, as was the wild boar. Not a huge restaurant and seems to be popular so be sure to reserve a table.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try. They have meat, seafood and vegetarian 4 courses menu to choose from. You can even change some of the dishes if you want. Very friendly staff and quick service. They didn’t leave the impression that if you don’t order wine, then they will treat you differently. Not every dishes are good. My mussels spaghetti was a bit too salty but had the right chewiness. The steak also was just ok. The lemon sorbet was very good. The grilled octopus was good and juicy as well.

Wow! We had the Prix Fixe seafood menu! Amazing. And the lemon gelato with Prosecco! Final touch.

Everything what we ordered today was okay. We didn’t like the food, just were hungry and ate half.

Appertif of anchovies and wine was really good. The baked fish with vegetables was fine, but the pasta was overcooked and had no flavor.

The food here was delicious! Ordering the food was a bit confusing though. We arrived right when the restaurant opened according to Google maps, but the staff were only starting to set the restaurant up. They began putting out tables and chairs, etc. a line formed so we lined up but as we got to the front (which took a while since the line was long) they told us for dine-in eating, we had to find a table outside. Since we spent all our time in line there were limited tables but we managed to find one. After that, it took a while for the servers to get to us and give us our food. They were nice about it and attentive, but the service was just too confusing and not well explained for someone who is not a local. Overall, the food was really good, not too salty, very flavourful and felt authentic for the pisa area.

We stopped at Pizzeria Trattoria Il Montino while visiting Pisa and tried their famous chickpea flour flatbread called cecina, which is made with chickpea flour, olive oil, and salt water. It was really good, warm, simple, and crispy on the edges, but after watching the pizzas come out of the wood-fired oven I truly wish I had ordered one instead. The oven itself was amazing and the man behind the counter, who only spoke Italian, told us through our guide that the fire inside has not gone out since the late 1800s and that the dome is still the original to the location. He even said it is the oldest wood-fired oven still in use in Italy, which made the experience feel so special and authentic. The pizza looked absolutely incredible and I could tell it would have been worth every bite. I really wish we had stayed in Pisa for another day so I could have come back to try the pizza. If you are anywhere near Pisa, definitely stop by for a slice of history and what looks like some of the best pizza around.

A small, traditional Pisan pizzeria with Italian pan pizza. Not the thin Napolitan pizza (which is also nice)! If you know, then these are very tasty indeed. Served with a crispy crust and loads of tomato sauce, the pizze are made by artisans and they are all you could wish for when visiting a busy place like Pisa. Also interesting: the mottos and photos on the walls.

Pretty awesome place. The owners were kind enough to give us an indoor table on a rainy day (indoor section was not open yet). The pizza was awesome and we also got a corn based dish (can't remember the name) which was great as well. Nice cozy place. Loved the artwork on the wall as well sculptures made out of old circuits. As an engineer this was pure Bliss for me :D

Tucked away in the heart of Pisa, this wood-fired haven came highly recommended by the person I’m renting from, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Let’s talk about the star of the show: cecina. I had never tried it before, but now I’m wondering how I’ve lived this long without it. Cecina is a thin, golden flatbread made from chickpea flour, olive oil, water, and salt — then baked in a blazing wood-fired oven until it’s perfectly crisp on the edges and luxuriously soft in the center. A dusting of black pepper is all it needs to make your eyes close involuntarily on that first bite. Oh, and did I mention it only cost 2 euro? That’s not a price — that’s daylight robbery in your favor. A dish this iconic, this flavorful, this transportive — for less than a cup of coffee? It felt like Pisa was giving me a warm, golden edible hug. Sure, the wait was long. But the air was thick with the scent of toasting chickpea batter and smoldering olive wood — a perfume that made time stand still and hunger turn into poetry. Montino isn’t just a place to eat. It’s where Tuscany whispers its secrets through flavor. Don’t miss it. Don’t question it. Just go — and order the cecina. Twice.

AMMAZZA!! What a wonderful find. We arrived at lunch with a big queue, which we accidentally skipped through. Do not let this put you off, you will regret it if you do. You've gotta get the cecina 🤌🏽 it's like a soft chickpeaflour omelette, and mio dio is it something special. There's a serious oven in there going back 6foot, so please order yourself a pizza. We had the margherita, it was both soft, crunchy and wildly delizioso. There are loads of different focaccia options so don't be afraid to ask for help. Italian boss man was very friendly. Although our Italian was non existent and their English was limited, they are still helpful. Bonus is the Italian banter, so sit on the stools inside if you get a chance to soak up the atmosfera. Finally if you like red wine, get the one pictured here. Divino.

A busy and popular pizzeria. Make a reservation ahead of time if you can. The pizza was very good in its simplicity, with crust on the thicker side. The cecina was also good. Wonderful spot for a casual meal while visiting Pisa!

Food was terrible The seafood pasta was extremely salty and oily. All you could taste is the saltiness. The seafood in seafood soup was fresh, but some of the seafood was completely inedible (there was no meat inside the shell at all) There was also bread under the seafood but it was all soaked in oil so completely inedible…. I wonder why the place got such a high rating on google map? Is it all fake reviews?

The atmosphere wasn’t very welcoming at first, but our waiter was such a nice guy. He kept saying, ‘as long as the lady is happy, the man will be happy too,’ which made us smile. 😅 We had a very good Chablis, along with calamari and steak. For dessert, we asked for strawberries with amaretto and ice cream — the waiter even went searching in the kitchen to try and make it happen, but in the end we just had amaretto. He also made a show of shaking the bottle while pouring, making sure I was happy with the wine after tasting. The steak itself was pretty standard. We ordered potatoes and vegetables on the side — the potatoes were fine, while the vegetables with olive oil were surprisingly tasty.

Stunning. Pasta with red mullet beautifully executed and tasty. Croaker with vegetables a masterpiece. These people know their fish and how to cook it exceptionally well. I wonder if people who dislike the welcome are mistaking a carefully respectful ambience. The atmosphere is very restrained. Perfect for fine dining.

There’s an interesting fish selection in the menu, and the restaurant seems popular with the locals. Staff were pleasant enough but it wasn’t a warm welcome and seemed a little stuck up. The starter of the Tuscan platter was delicious. The pasta course with fish was uninspiring. My partner had steak tartare and was very ill the day after. The braised beef he had was not anything special. The wine and tiramisu were lovely.

I had the Ravioli with prawn sauce. A good dish but nothing special. Dessert was much better than the main course. Overall decent restaurant but not budget friendly.

Excellent fish restaurant, although you can order meat too of course. Excellent house wine, very reasonable prices and above all : extremely friendly service. Highly recommended! 👌🙏👍

A very nice restaurant with professional waiters and good atmosphere. Nice interior and smart division with zones, which gave a quiet more private atmosphere. We ate delicious seafood dishes and the tiramisu and the house red wine was very good. The cheescake was stunningly precented with frech berries, but unfortunatly the case itself was dry and cold, so a bit disapointing. All in all a good restaurant experience. We will be happy to come back.

Traditional cuisine, with plenty of options with Tuscany origin. We spoke Spanish with them and they replied in Italian so we could quite understand each other, and were friendly. It had a good price and a medium portion size, which was fair for its price. They didn't have tables available for those arriving after 1 PM

This is a small, popular, no-nonsense restaurant. It’s very popular and you need to reserve a table. Be aware though that you only get 90 minutes before they ask you to leave to make way for the next sitting. We had not been told about this so it came as a bit of an unwelcome surprise midway through dessert. But the food was good, service too, and the menu is varied. A very good price.

Make sure you call and make reservations prior other wise it would be so hard to get a table. Very simple but delicious!price is really good. They keep updating their menu depending on the seasons. I have been here couple of times and love this place.

A true gem for both locals and tourists. Here you will find friendly service, very little waiting time after you order, incredibly flavourful dishes and a true Tuscan experience. I highly recommend the Trippa, but everything onnutte menu is simply amazing and genuine. The prices are in line with the low-tier restaurants but the flavours are definitely falling in the top-tier!

Great local restaurant, cosy and private. Extra points for the dessert. Panna cotta with pistachio and tiramisu were soooo good. The staff was also super fast and helpful.

A simple, genuine, efficient and flavourful gen in the heart of Pisa. You can expect quick services (although seating might entail some waiting time), authentic dishes and super friendly staff. The place is informal but is perfect for a quick lunch and a tasting experience of different dishes! Recommend the rabbit with olives :)

Absolutely the BEST food we had on our trip to Italy!!! It's actually homemade, tagliatelle with pesto was the best in my life. Don't skip the dessert! So worth the wait

We arrived here 10 minutes before opening. The owner of this place and the waiters were very nice. But although we arrived early, we got our lunch very very late. Meanwhile the italian guests almost finished they 2. meal, noone even took our order. We were sitting at the table 7, very hungry, and watch, how the other local guests are eating their spagetti and drinking their wine. That made me very sad and disappointed. The Stelia tagietelle and the pork with plum and almond was very delicious. The french fries was too oily to us. All together, we have mixed feelings with this place.

Delicious, totally worth trying! The place has a unique atmosphere, and the smiling owner loves to chat with guests. The tiramisu is delightful, the pasta dishes are perfectly balanced, and the food comes out incredibly fast. 👌

Fabulous lunch. Very busy, arriving at 1.20 for lunch, there was a number of parties waiting outside. The restaurant has a ticket system and then seats parties in order as tables become available. You pick how many courses and select a first and second course. The food was delicious with the just the right size serves to leave room for the deserts. Great value for money, quick service and fantastic atmosphere.

The food is absolutely delicious! The Cacciucco is absolutely divine, if you like your food a bit spicy it is a must. The prices are more than resonable for the taste. We got to meet the owner, who is now 90 years old. He told us that it is a family run business since 1963. I visited it at a recommendation of a friend, and it definitely was worth the waiting. It is a pity that it is only open during lunch, but seeing how intense things are, it is understandable.

Food looks beautiful! It’s an art! Tastes ok, standard! Great hospitality. Price also reasonable.

If I could give 100000 stars I would. This is absolutely my favourite restaurant in the whole world. I believe this place should be on a list for a Michelin star as these flavours are incredible. Portions are big, the flavours are complex and delicate at the same time, the perfect mix; the prices are super affordable, and I find it amazing as this place has some of the best food ever. The staff is attentive, polite and friendly. I will forever comeback with my partner to this place no matter where we live on earth! I 100% recommend. Pe I wish I had more pictures but the food is so good I didn’t have the time.

This is a really great place when you need a break from the usual tourist restaurants in Pisa. It’s one of those places that you remember long after you return home.

This was an amazing restaurant. The restaurant itself had a beautiful old-timey charm to it and the waiter and chefs were super friendly. The presentation of the food was beautiful and portions were perfect. I ordered the steak sirloin and it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place to people and I can’t wait to come back!

Food was very very good but the experience was a bit tarnished by the amount of time we had to wait in between plates. We sat for 20 minutes waiting to get the dessert menu and we ended up asking for the check and leaving because of it. I still recommend eating here but be aware it takes long to eat. The waiter was awesome though! Que had the coliflour soup, the risotto and the meat. All AMAZING.

I was expecting great traditional food,but found an exquisite fine dining experience instead. We enjoyed a tasty fresh cod tartare for appetizer. Then we ordered 4 different first courses one even better than the next. The sirloin were excellently cooked,with superb seasoning. The seafood lasagne was just the perfect, salty, fresh experience with creamy pasta. The tortellini was beautiful and tasty too if a bit small portions. Finally for desert we had cheese cake that was breath taking. The cheese was sweet, but not too thick. After the friendliest host in Pisa made us superb cocktails, including an amazing local creation of grappa with lemon juice. The best experience we had in Italy this week. All this at a reasonable price, worth every cent.

I can say without doubt that this was the best food experience I have ever had, the food was out of this world. The combination of flavours and the presentation was astonishing. We had antipasti, primi, secondi and dessert. I cant think of one negative element about this dinner, if you are ever hungry in Pisa this place you should definitely not miss! BRAVO

This was off the beaten path, but not too far. It looked unassuming from the outside and was kind of hard to find. We saw the outdoor seating first...opposite of the restaurant entrance. Within 5 minutes we were seated inside. It was a small place...obviously popular with the locals. The food was awesome with large portions and super fresh. I docked the atmosphere because it was small and loud, but was exactly what were we're looking for. Authentic locals food. They have you use your phone to order food which was a little clumsy and frustrating for a guy that doesn't really like to use technology, but after I struggled through the appetizer order, the rest of it was actually pretty straightforward. The meat and cheese platter was an impressive spread and the metro pizza was huge and fed 3 hungry boys with no problem. I would definitely go back!

Just off the main street, I stumbled upon this small, cozy restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was nice and crispy, it was great value for money. One thing I didn’t love was having to scan a QR code for the menu. I would’ve preferred a classic printed one. Also, the waitress came to take the order just as I was nearly done scrolling through it on my phone. Still, the food made it worth the visit.

Flavours were fantastic. I thought the pizza would be like a standard UK one but there was something different. Amazing. The chicken was small but can tell if wasn't pumped full of water or crap. What a fantastic trattoria (restaurant) in Pisa that is not your typical tourist stop but which prides itself on its food! Went here for the first time on the Monday of my trip, and just had to go back on the Wednesday for the last meal of my holiday. Tasty Tuscan cuisine, varied menu, and a fantastic atmosphere in the square, honestly if you’re in Pisa you cannot miss out on this restaurant.

We were really hoping that we could give this restaurant a good review, but it is impossible. When you first arrive at the restaurant It is slightly confusing. It appears to be a very small restaurant with one row of chairs and an entrance with almost no seating. We stood there waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted to be seated, but no one came. After looking at the menu on that side of the street, we realize that everyone eating at the restaurant was seated on the other side of the street. We ordered the large Florentine steak and sides with a bottle of wine. And the steak was really not that great. The sides were good and the wind was ok. The wait staff need a lot of improvement. They leave you on attended well, talking and chatting with each other on the other side of the street. They threw a small brown bag in the middle of the table when we sat down and it took us a minute to figure out that that was our bread, no olive oil, no butter. Once we were served our meal, we didn’t get another question about what we needed. When we were finished our meal, the waitress asked us if we wanted any dessert, we answered no, and they took our dishes. After about 15 minutes of sitting there with no dishes and the waitress, knowing we’re not getting anything else, I signaling for the check and was told “if we are paying with card we need to go inside to pay.” but a check was never brought to our table.

This place was recommended to us and luckily we took that recommendation! After reading some of the reviews left here I must say we were a bit hesitant but luckily we ignored them as for us everything was wonderful. The service was fast, professional, yet friendly and attentive. Prices were very good (50-60€ per kg for a steak Fiorentine is very cheap compared to prices we find in Germany!) and everything we ordered was really delicious with fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended from my side

We had the Bacala cod dish with some kind of tomato topping. The fish was underdone. Part of it was translucent even and salty. The topping was cold like it was pre prepared from the fridge and not heated through. Maybe this is how Tuscan people like it but it was too cold and raw for us. The Pici traditional spaghetti thing was a simple dish but the croutons inside were chewy. The grilled vegetables you'd think couldn't go wrong but alas a few pieces were charred bitter and inedible. The food took a long time to come. And after it did, nobody bothered to ask if it tasted ok, if we wanted olive oil for the bread or a little plate. Basically service was difficult to come by though when they did show up, were friendly enough. All in all, Our first night in Pisa left us feeling down. It was not a tasty meal.

Traditional Toscana antipasti 14 euro, pasta ragu 16 euro, and very good Chianti 7 euro per glass. Proper food. But strange that we had to pay for water. Coperto 3 euro

It was recommended by the receptionist at the hotel. It was okay. The waitress pushed for a 1.7kg t-bone for two. We eventually settled for what she claimed to be smallest she had in stock (1.4kg). Not the best I ever had, nor the worst. Food was not served simultaneously (side dishes came too early). The outside patio is next to a public toilet.

A very central place to discover and experience Pisa by night. Excellent Italian cuisine from A to Z: meat on the bone, fish, and traditional pasta dishes, all served by charming staff. Well suited for families with children as well as couples.

The pistachio ice cream? Absolute perfection—creamy, rich, and full of real nutty flavor that makes you question every pistachio gelato you’ve had before. The maron (chestnut) flavor, on the other hand, felt like it got lost somewhere between concept and cone—underwhelming and kind of forgettable. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but honestly, I’d still come back for that pistachio alone. It’s that good. Just maybe skip the chestnut detour

This is my favorite granita I have ever tasted. Every time I’m close or pass through Pisa, I go back for a treat. Sweet, flavorful and natural, you can really taste the fruits. Ice creams are also great.

Probably the best icecream in Tuscany. Actually scratch that, probably the best icecream I've ever had (and I eat a lot of icecream). Words won't do it justice, go there and have a try, all flavours are just so good!

Great little place to find a unique selection of gelatos. They have some of the regular flavors you would expect, but they also push the boundaries with some really cool offerings. Give them a try!

Really enjoyed this ice cream spot — it’s a proper gelateria with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I tried the olive oil ice cream, which was interesting but a bit too strong in flavor for me. The pistachio was smooth and tasty (though I did miss the crunch of real nuts), and the fig slushie was excellent. Overall, not the absolute best ice cream I’ve ever had, but still really, really good. Definitely worth 5 stars.

You know how sometimes you’ll read the one and two star reviews of a place and you’ll find something along the lines of “I don’t know how this place gets such high ratings!”? Well, in the case of Gelateria De’ Coltelli my wife and I can’t figure how this place can get any LOW ratings! 🤔 We’ve been to many of the major regions and cities in Italy, and have tried the gelaterias wherever we go. This is by far one of the best we have ever been to. If all people are used to is gelato with the standard overdose of fat, sugar, and concentrated flavor - and consider that “the best”, then you may not appreciate what you’d taste here. The flavors are sometimes subtle, but they are always natural and (for us) have a lovely balance of being refreshing and creamy. We’ve been here three times (so far!) and tried 6 of the flavors they have. There’s something unique and wonderful about all of them, but as a caution you shouldn’t necessarily combine any flavor with any other flavor or you might lose the essence of one over the other. You might not want to, for example, mix plum with blueberry (we didn’t, as the nice young lady behind the counter let me try two flavors when I asked which would go better with plum)! 😄 I don’t see this as a negative, as you can get your everyday supersaturated technicolor flavors* at any of a number of other gelaterias in Pisa (which we’ve tried - some rated higher than this place but having the standard assembly line flavors). Go here if you want a more out of the ordinary - and tasty - gelato. Additionally, at all times we’ve been treated very nicely by three different young ladies for each of visits. *(Now having said this, my wife and I have also had wonderful, more classic heavier cream and sugar gelatos in Italy and elsewhere. Hey, if they’re good, they’re good. But Gelateria De’ Coltelli does it their way, and their way is very good and a bit more unique!)

Really tasty gelato with huge portions. I took two scoops with whipped cream and It looks like at least 3 or 4 scoops. Nocciola taste had whole hazelnuts inside and was a little bit salty. Gianduja taste was also really good. I reccomend!

Salty, but the good kind of salty. Nice to have a break from pizza and pasta. Accommodating to our toddler too. If I could, I would just get the porchetta with a selection of vegetables. The bread was good as a sandwich, but not needed.

Went here to grab lunch after tour if Pisa and reading so many good reviews. We ordered for a Tuscan platter and a sandwich kindly recommended by the staff. The platter was amazing and delicious with fresh cuts and bread with Jam and cheese. The sandwich was delicious, however a big disappointment is the bread, it is too dry and chewy thus making it a difficult experience to eat the sandwich. The quality of meat is excellent but the bread underpowered the taste. I wish they change the type of bread and serve more fresh soft ones to go with their meat options.

Fantastic local stop in Pisa. Excellent value for money in a tourist dense city. Great sandwiches (don’t expect a schiacciatta, these are more baguette style). We tried the raw sausage which was a gamble but tasted great, as well as “the professor”. The service was very friendly and patient with our English. Well-priced food and drinks (Spritzes are €5, Negronis are €6). Pleasant sitting out on the piazza enjoying the sunshine and student vibes.

Last night of our Italian trip and so much pasta and pizza had been eaten. So glad we found this place - had a perfect Negroni - my new favourite cocktail and a meat / pork platter to share. The stuff of dreams! A selection of many different meats, a little cheese and some jams to perfectly complement - one of our best food memories for sure. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Both food and atmosphere. What is also important, speed od service. Winw was ready immediatelly, aperol spritz after 2 mins and antipasto after another 2. Don't get fooledc by cretinos. This is fantastic place and obligatory pointy on Pisa map. Authentic food made from ingriduents that you ser in glass fridge. Absolutely fenomenal. No visit to Pisa is complete without visiting this place! Incredible sandwiches, with amazing ingredients. I've had the Tuscan salami and the raw salami panino and both times it was one of the best things I ate! Perfect bread, with fantastic flavours. All the staff are so friendly, great service, and so reasonably priced. A definite must!

We stopped at I Porci Comodi while visiting Pisa and ordered what I think is called their pork platter, and I can honestly say it was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. The pork comes from a special breed of pig with a distinctive black band around its waist, which is said to have a higher fat content that might even help lower cholesterol. I can’t speak to the health benefits, but I can absolutely say every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The platter was beautifully arranged with fresh bread, cheeses, spreads, and perfectly sliced meats that were full of rich, savory flavor. It was the kind of food experience you dream about when you imagine authentic Italian specialties, and it’s just a shame this gem is thousands of miles away from home because I would go back in a heartbeat. If you’re anywhere near Pisa, do yourself a favor and stop here — you won’t regret it!

The restaurant is so lovely and we were given a complimentary starter from the chef. It was delicious. We both then got different pasta dishes which were quite flavorful but not fresh pasta- it tasted and had the texture of dried pasta. We then shared the tiramisu which was very flavorful. Prices were great as well!

We’ve probably been everywhere in Italy, but we’ve never had such amazing food before. It was wonderful! The service was very friendly. We highly recommend this place to everyone and will definitely come back one day.

Fantastic food and wine, very friendly and attentive service, cosy ambience (I recommend a table inside!). Although we were already pretty full after Antipasti and Primi, we couldn't stand trying out Secondi, which was equally great. Finishing the evening with a recommended glass of yellow grappa was a fine ending of a great supper

We went there last night after doing some research beforehand, and we are so glad that we chose this place for dinen. It was really, really good, we tried 3 different kinds of pasta, all of them were delicious. The service and staff were all great, thank you.🤗

We don't have the time to go to every restaurant in Pisa but I can't imagine this place not being a top 10 if we did period. We had one of the best and most unique appetizers we've ever had traveling around the world period. It was a monkfish and eggplant souffle that was out of this world. They have a great wine list very reasonably priced and we shared a bottle and then each of us chose a pasta. One was the special of the evening and the other was the spaghetti San Marco. As expected in Italy they were both cooked perfectly al dente and were really fantastic. The staff was really friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is super cool.

The first thing you can see in Osteria di Culegna Pisa is "superwomen" who give you place where you can eat. We ordered two times "Pappa al Pomodoro", "Testaroli al tartufo bianco", "Peposoalla chiantigiana con cipolla agrodolce", "Arista al forno con patate", "Croccette di baccala convellutata di zucca" and 4 times tiramisu. All of those dishes were excellent and made with love. The prize of one dish is 15 euros, which is affordable. Why? Becuase you are here, next to Pisa tower. Music is peaceful and you are feeling like you are at own home. Thank you on such joyfull time and good luck in the future!

My work colleague and I found this fantastic restaurant by accident. We were both impressed with the hand written menu and the welcoming attitude from the staff and owner. Great service and 100% great tasting food. 10/10 👍🏾

Moderate prices! Cozy place with authentic Tuscan cuisine. Everything is made with fresh local ingredients. We liked beef steak (tagliata di manzo) especially. No tourist-trap vibes — mostly locals eat here.

The food was really nice but the rabbit was a little bit too dry. The peppers that came alongside it were very delicious. Gnocchi was really nice with the seafood flavour. The service was really great. The steak tartare was really nice, so good with the olive oil and celery. Only lost 1 star because the rabbit was dry, apart from that it was great.

Tried this place out, and we were lucky to get a walk in table even though it was fully booked. Menu is handwritten in Italian, but the staff were kind enough to translate every dish for us. It was quite a joy to see them proudly describe their food. We had antipasti, primi, secondi, dessert and wine and it was all excellent. Price and portions were reasonable as well. Staff were really really cute and friendly as well! 10/10 would visit again, although it seems that when the restaurant is busy you might have to wait a little to get attended to but it’s definitely worth it!!

Little family style run gem in Pisa. The food tasted amazing, everything we tried was exquisite. The house wines, both the red and the white were also very good! Very easy and enjoyable to drink. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The accept payment in both cash and card :)

Away from the busiest tourist areas but still only a 10 minute walk, lots of locals eating and drinking in this small square, always tells a story! Food was excellent, several bars with a few tables in the square which gave it a great ambiance! Reasonable prices for quality of food! Would recommend!

Grilled Salmon Burger .…stracciatella, sun-dried tomatoes, soy reduction, almond grits, lemon zest, and misticanza. It was good, salmon was perfect not overcooked. Combination of the ingredients harmonized the taste when eating it. Beautiful restaurant. Food came in less than 15 minutes. Very good food!

The seafood is great. They have a limited edition shrimp bun, more for hype, instagram and pictures. They have their own wine which is very good. Their seafood pasta is good. Fries are great.

Filling, but wholly unsatisfying. This was a meal of disappointment. The fried prawn was mushy. That was a cardinal sin for a seafood restaurant indicating a problem with ingredient quality control. The lobster special was meh - flavorless and sad. So was the bread. The only highlight was the vongole. Overall this dinner felt like an opportunity cost; I wish we had gone somewhere else instead.

We had a terrible experience at Pizzeria Nando in Pisa. After queuing for more than 45 minutes to be served, a lady finally “took our order” and said it would take some time. Since there were no tables available, I said we would have it for takeaway. However, she didn’t take our payment, didn’t ask if we wanted any drinks, and then just walked away — clearly not interested in actually serving us. We waited and waited with no update, and when I eventually asked the man at the counter when we should pay, he simply said “later,” with no effort to clarify or follow up. It became obvious that they had no intention of serving us. What made this even worse was seeing the same thing happen to another family behind us — also not Italian — who had a young child and had already waited for over an hour. Meanwhile, Italian customers were seated and served immediately. It’s hard not to conclude that this place only wants to serve locals and treats tourists as an inconvenience. If that’s the case, they shouldn’t have English translations on their menu or be located right in the city centre. The service was rude, unprofessional, and the atmosphere felt stuffy and unwelcoming. I would strongly advise against visiting this restaurant, especially if you’re a tourist. Pisa has so many wonderful places to eat — this is definitely not one of them.

I ate focacia. It was delicious. There was also a dish made of chickpeas. I was wondering. They also gave me chickpeas as a gift. It is very nice to eat while watching people walking among the buildings built with Italian architecture. Staff are very friendly. I definitely recommend you to come here.

Located on the busy shopping street in Pisa. It's a bit of a magnet for locals. We tried their pizzas which are of their own style, excellent and tasty. Loved the 1l glass of beer. Friendly and helpful team.

An excellent lunch time stop for pizza. Order from the counter, they give you a sounder to tell you when food is ready. We waited only 10 mins for a homemade, oven baked pizza. Spot on. 😀

Excellent food, the best of our week’s holiday. Fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavours. Very decent wine. Congratulations to the two chefs and the delightful staff. The atmosphere of the Piazza on a Friday evening was just the thing that had been missing in the more touristy places. Kids playing, folk of all ages enjoying a summer evening and a happy buzz. If you have bothered to read this review so far then do go and eat here. It’s a rare spot of authenticity in the increasingly bland world of touristification.

What they say about Pisa, it’s true. Just get lost in the city, go with the flow, follow locals, and you end up in this little gem just around the shopping street. Highly recommended for its wonderful house Prosecco and snacks. Spacious square, full of life, excellent starter to get to know Tuscany’s best.

Imagine this: it's your last evening in Pisa. You've discovered new places, taken tons of pictures, and walked your legs off! You've already eaten at the spots you Googled and bookmarked back home and checked off all the must-eat items. Now, all you want is a nice, quiet "goodbye Italy" evening. So, you're walking and walking some more, and then you see it: Pane e Vino—a small place, packed with locals, every table occupied. “Let’s wait,” I said. After 15 minutes, there was no sign of movement, and other people were waiting, too. "Okay, let’s take a look around," I thought. Right next door, there was a place with the same outdoor table setup, but it was empty. I checked out the menu—hmm, a bit overpriced. Time to expand the radius! We walked and walked again, crossing the bridge back and forth, but found nothing interesting—just tourist traps, an Indian place, and a lonely Italian sushi spot. After about 40 minutes, we decided to go back and check the first place again. This time, we were in luck—there was a single table just for us! I was starving, but it was totally worth the wait. The Carameloni was amazing, and the sauce was incredible! I even got the secret recipe from the owner later. As a bonus for waiting, we got to dip cantucci in Vin Santo. All I can say is: memorable, delicious, and a place with a soul!

Visited this nice little place before heading to the airport. The staff were lovely and suggested suitable wine pairings for our meals. I was so impressed with the meals that I bought a cheese and meat platter to enjoy on the plane! The pasta was delicious and the quiet vibe was perfect. Should I come back to Pisa on the future, I hope to try this place again.

Great spot. Came across this spot and we thought we would have a wine. We got 5 wines brought to our table where they told us about each wine which was a great touch. Had some meat and cheeses and courgette flowers which were all delicious. The owners were so friendly and had a great atmosphere. Loved all the serving dishes. If you are looking for an authentic Pisan/Toscan place, with a spectacular service and food that reminds you of grandma (Simple but very tasty homemade food) you need to come to Ristoro Pisano. We ate VERY well a full menu for a very good price. Pisano menu 18€ - comes with appetizer, two types of pasta (red and white sauce), water, wine, coffee and the coperto included. We also ordered a meat dish that was spectacular!

We arrived at this place and saw some people waiting to get seated. It didn’t take long before we got called. We ordered some food expecting it to be alright but it turned out to be amazing. We’ve had some good pasta’s but personally for me this one has been the best until this moment. I would recommend it without hesitation.

The experience was good. The pasta is tasty and well-prepared. A word of caution about the portions: the menu offers three size options, and the largest one is absolutely huge! I usually eat a lot, but I wasn’t expecting such a massive serving. The price is excellent for the quantity and quality. We waited about 30 minutes to find a free table (we were 5 people), but it was worth it. The staff is professional and quick. I definitely recommend this place if you want to enjoy good pasta in Pisa.

The pasta was incredible! You can choose type of pasta and type of sauce to create your own combination. There are 3 sizes and even though I can eat a large portion, the largest one was huge! I finished it because the pasta was so tasty but the medium would definitely be enough. Prices are surprisingly low, large pasta cost only 7,50€! What we didn't like was tiramisu, it was refrigerated and tasted like a basic store bought one. Must visit for anyone who loves pasta, just be aware that for groups larger than 2 there can be waiting time.

I'd read the good reviews online and we were determined to visit! There was a 15-20 minute wait but it was worth it. Here's what you need to know: You choose your pasta, You choose your size - small 90g, medium 150g or large 180g, You choose your sauce and extras. Once seated you'll get a menu you can tick against what you want so no need to worry about speaking Italian. There was a huge queue when we arrived but it moved quickly - just make sure you put your name down and they'll call you forward when it's your turn to be seated. Primo also does takeaway if you don't want to wait. Super pleased we popped in! Two pastas, two cans of drink and two bottles of water came to €24.50 which is SO cheap in Italy!!

This place is clearly a favorite among both locals and tourists. I arrived around noon for lunch, and by 1 PM a long queue had already formed outside. The food is absolutely fantastic—my salmon pasta was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommend!

We went for lunch in 4 around 12.45 just at the opening time, and the place was full in a few minutes for the lunch menu offer. We ordered from the menu a la carte and the food was very good: we had the prosciutto crudo with stracchino and pasta fritta, two trippa alla pisana, and a grilled steak with roasted potatoes with two glasses of Chianti. Prices were good considering the food quality, but service was lacking a bit of attention.

The wait staff was really friendly, cordial, and very helpful and attentive. They made me feel at ease and welcome while they skillfully served the dishes. I started with a salad and then I had the stuffed pasta with meat and meat Ragu sauce. The red wine by the glass I had was a local Chianti. For dessert, I had a standing milk dessert with chocolate sauce. And the meal ended with an awesome tasting espresso. The bill was a good price at 32 euros. I recommend this restaurant. We spent a long time searching for a restaurant that was both open and not empty – I was quite surprised to encounter such problems in a city like this, but I guess it's off-season. Eventually, we found one with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. The truffle pasta was quite good – with real truffles in generous amounts, not just the aroma. The pasta was well-cooked, with the right amount of sauce, and had a good texture. In short, it was a solid, satisfying meal.

What these people make here are not sandwiches, this is pure ART! I've never had a sandwich that tastes so, so good. The ingredients are top and the service is awesome. I was so impressed that they offer some discounts for students, which is awesome and proofs that the business is not just about making money, but also offering something back to the community. Food was great! They had a bunch of options and the guy said that you can customize all sandwiches! The sandwiches are quite large I could only manage half and my bf ended up finishing mine off and I would recommend ordering two different sandwiches like we did and getting them to cut in half so you can switch with each other!! (Have to ask while ordering for it to be cut) The staff were nice and playful overall great atmosphere. We went and saw the leaning tower of Pisa and looked for food around its like a 5 minute or so walk from there but worth it.

Ducked into Osteria I Santi to avoid an unexpected rain shower and left 4 hours later very satisfied with full bellies. We had vegetable soup to begin, steaming hot, and full of seasonal produce. A great start! For our mains, my girlfriend enjoyed a delicious, sweet tomato pasta and I indulged in the local delicacy, boar ragu. Beautifully aromatic, with a hint of cinnamon I believe! For dessert, panna cotta and berries. Delicious. Osteria I Santi is amazing value for money, we enjoyed 3 courses and a litre of beautiful wine for a modest price. Keep up the good work fellas.

Ordered the Risotto alla Marinara. Check out the photo, does it look like alla Marinara to you? I politely asked waiter why it is served with what seems a butter sauce and not a typical tomato based marinara. He said marinara does not have tomatoes. I said I’ve had marinara sauce countless times and it is always tomato based. I even showed him Google images that I’ve attached here. He still insisted that marinara sauce does not have any tomatoes. So I ate a bit but left most of it because not only was it not made with marinara sauce but the mussels smelled like sewage. I tasted one but had to spit it out because it was rotten. This place is awful. Waste of money.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! While there isn’t much other than pizza on the menu, the pizza is very light and delicious! I ordered the mozzarella, yellow, and red tomatoes pizza - so light and easy to devour. I got the pistachio cheesecake after. It wasn’t my favorite and it made me regret not choosing the house made tiramisu. They also have a selection of beers. I had a light wheat beer and it paired well with my simple pizza. Overall, it was a good dining experience and I would come back again the next time I visit Pisa!

As an Italian looking for a good pizza in pisa is like walking in a minefield. Gusto al 129 improved a couple of tough evenings when outside was 40 degrees. very very good pizza and fast service.

The place is super nice & comfy & quite (for a pizza place 🤭) so it’s a recommended place to meet up with friends or date 😏. They have selection of wine & beer to compliment the dinner. They have indoor seating only with AC. The staffs are super nice and they could speak in English in case you need some explanation. Notes: makes sure to book in advanced especially if you want to come on Friday night & weekend bcz it’s always full. Not sure if they accept a very big group booking, but a group if 8 people still convenient to have.

Great pizza! Some of the best I have had here in Italy. They came recommended by a local artist we bought a piece from near the Cathedral. They opened at 7:00 - right when we arrived. I was super surprised that the first words out of their mouth when walking into the restaurant (which was completely empty) were “do you have a reservation?” Hesitatingly they sat us at a small table but said we would need to be done by 8. I guess the place must be packed by that time. Service was nice and quick otherwise. I would definitely eat there again.

Been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Food both times good. Steak alla brace was also good. Excellent potatoes. Ok pici al ragu.

Seems like this is the better pizzeria around the neighbourhood where we are staying in Florence. The dough is balanced, soft on the inside, but not too chewy. Crispy on the outside. The toppings are decadent and rich. Will give this place a go if you want pizza. Ambience is nice enough for a casual date.

Very Disappointing Experience rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit was too frustrating to ignore. The service was incredibly slow — despite the restaurant not being very busy. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. To make matters worse, the staff seemed disorganized and inattentive. They serve us with the wrong plate. For the price they charge, I expected much better. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The food was basic - nothing interesting or exceptional. The service was low as the waiter brought us a plate of pasta with wildboar ragu without any cheese and when we asked, he never brought it. Also, waited for a glass of beer for 10 minutes. Lastly, the ambience was frustrating. Not a typical Italian restaurant but a random mix with no authenticity.

The service is the highlight of this establishment!!! We arrived late to our apartment and the locals advised us to have dinner at this restaurant. At 22:50 we were not refused service!!! They even offered to make us a pizza, although the restaurant was open until 23:00! The next day we decided to spend the whole evening at this restaurant. Everything was just great: meat and salads, pizza, desserts, wine... And at such great prices! Twice we were served by two different waiters, it seemed like they were my brothers, whom I came to visit and they received me at their home!!! You are the best! Thank you!!!

We had a fabulous dinner at this local restaurant. Fried artichokes, papardelle ragu pizza diavola this evening, sparkling water and a bottle of Chianti for 4x euros. The service was good, the food was great and I might have to find a way to sneak back in tomorrow for lunch.

Stumbled on this place on our way to the leaning tower. Would not have found it without a sign placed on the sidewalk. Worth the detour! Old school charm with a waiter in his 30s teamed up with the owner and chef well into their 60s at a guess. Felt a bit crowded with too many decor touches and bottles literally everywhere. But the food was amazing! Highlight was a sea bass ravioli which was super fine pasta perfectly cooked. Excellent seafood spaghetti. The reviews don’t lie. It’s far better than you’d expect when you walk in.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. I had an amazing tuna steak, my wife had a macaroni with vegetable and tomato sauce. The side of tempura veg was delicious. Desert also was fantastic, a chocolate and apricot marquise with blackberry coulis. The quality of the food was the best we have had on a 2 week holiday, and we have not had a single bad meal so this says a lot about this place. In addition our waiter was friendly and helpful and the owner was a delight. We are going back tonight! Prices also fair.Go there, don't delay!

One CANNOT, SHOULD NOT, and MUST NOT miss this place once you are in PISA. This seafood restaurant serves the most authentic and delicious Italian seafood cuisine. It is a bit on the expensive side. They also boast on their exquisite wine collection. This restaurant is run by an very elderly person who greets you with such an infectious smile that you are instantaneously smitten. One can experience fine dining here. The taste is still stuck to my lips! We ordered prosciutto wrapped prawns, some fish and asparagus and fish filled pasta, fresh catch of the day grilled and the fried version of it. We also tried a couple of desserts. Thank God! I didn’t miss out on this hidden gem of a restaurant!

The tuna steak was amazing. The best I’ve ever had. My wife had a filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. The desserts were delicious. The prices were very reasonable.This place is A hidden gem. If you are in Pisa, my wife and I highly recommend you visit this restaurant. The best meal we’ve had in Italy, hands-down. 5 stars.

I love looking for restaurants that are for locals when I’m in holiday. Osteria San Paolo is exactly that. I was lucky to find this place on Google Maps and the reviews were great. Our reservation was ready and that’s when we met Carlo. Carlo was incredible. He catered to our every needs and recommended lots of things to try. We also had their house wine which is produced by them and it paired amazing with the dishes we ordered. Every bite of every plate was absolutely incredible. Each serving was plentiful and the my whole family enjoyed their meals. Carlo also recommended desserts and liquors after the meal which were fantastic. This restaurant is a hidden gem. It has plenty of awards as well and I feel it’s good enough for a Michelin star. If you’re in Pisa and go from the train station to the Leaning Tower, stopping here for a meal is a must!

The menu offers plenty of choice and prices are fair ! We decided to give it a go with a tagliata di manzo that is a sirloin steak served with rocket and Parmesan on a side. My partner ordered another well made steak. Since we were hungry we decided to order a pizza, wasn’t as I expected. I’ve got the following explanation : the hype for the pizza from the tourists point of view is legit but Tuscany offers different local dishes to try. In other words, if you want an amazing pizza is better to choose Napoli next time. Kaiom was the waitress that guaranteed us an impeccable service. He was kind, fast and “ in gamba”. Good service is the key ! When you order a tiramisu as dessert you will never go wrong ! In conclusion, quality/price is a good deal.

It is a nice restaurant to eat very close to the tower of Pisa. The papardelle with wild boar sauce were just perfect and the spaghetti pomodoro were very tastefully.

An excellent restaurant in the heart of Pisa with very professional and welcoming wait staff. One big plus the restaurant has compared to others is that there is no added service charge, nor is there the outdoor seating fee which is seen in many other restaurants, the price you see on the menu is exactly what you pay. The food itself arrived quickly (despite the fact that the restaurant was busy), and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were organic and it was clear that the chefs here take pride in their work. Compared to some of the tourist trap restaurants in the area, this place is an absolute gem.

Decent Tuscan fare with ingredients sourced with the best intentions for the environment in mind. The restaurants around the Pisa tower are typically very expensive for food that is at best above average. The food at this restaurant is delicious but don't eat here expecting to have your mind blown. It is clean food for sustenance that is a tad lighter on your wallet than some of the other restaurants around the tower. Also you get unlimited water for your cover charge - this may sound silly but water is not usually included in the cover charge which is something you have to pay at every Italian restaurant. I am still not convinced on the benefits of using throwaway dishes and cutlery though. Is it not more environmentally friendly to use plates and silverwear you can use reuse?

The food is very average. The staff is excellent! The plates and utensils are supposedly sustainable, made of paper or plastic. I don’t see how that’s sustainable considering they’re thrown away after use. Wouldn’t it be more sustainable to wash reusable dishes? It also takes away from the overall atmosphere.

The best food experience I had in Italy! Giacomo was so welcoming and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch on my last day in Pisa. I had the parpadelle con ragù di cinghiale (my first time ever having wild boar) and it was delicious! I had a lovely red wine that was paired with my pasta. I almost left without trying the tiramisu and I’m so happy I stayed because it was the best tiramisu I’ve ever had! This is definitely a gem of a restaurant with authentic and delicious food. Our dining experience was disappointing due to the slow service, as we had to wait 35 minutes to be attended. Additionally, the dishes were served out of order, and some were even forgotten. Although the quality of the food was excellent, the waiter's performance was far from professional. I hope these issues can be addressed so that the service matches the quality of the food. Even clearing the dishes was an unpleasant experience; plates were passed over people's heads and customers were asked to pass them The waiter was asked to prepare separate bills, but he sent them all together. We are a club and we will not return to this place 20 euros to put bread that we did not order It’s a shame that, despite having top-notch products and facilities, the service is terrible 😢

We had lunch today in this little restaurant in Pisa city centre, very well located close to the tower. The place is charming and the owner extremely nice and welcoming. The food is freshly prepared. The feasant was a little bit dry but the Tuscany soup was just amazing and we were offered little starters which were very tasty too. A really nice authentic Italian dining experience!

Highly recommend this place! We were well looked after and well fed! They were generous on the amount of cheese for the appetiser plus we got a small taster of Tuscan pappa al pomodoro. A very reasonable priced restaurant and the owner was very friendly.

This is my favorite place in Pisa. I come here once every few months for a date night and whenever my friends or family are visiting Italy I bring them here. The portions are generous, the prices are wonderful and the taste is so so good. I tried carbonara, gnocchi with 4 cheeses, ravioli with mushrooms and gnocchi with salmon, which is my favorite dish or theirs. They have nice desserts too but let's be honest, you come to La Ghiotteria for the pasta. Also, servers are great and it looks like they always have fun, music playing, everyone is smiling, just a good vibe. Recommend 100% The place is tiny, so book the table or you'll have to wait a bit till you get seated!

Perfetto! It was something we were really looking for to eat, a place with locals, tasty dishes, good service and regular prices. Everything was as good as expected and the portions were so big as well. I really recommend to move out of the tourist area if you want to experience the local life also :)

Was hoping for greatness given the reviews. Sadly I was left with a bland tasteless taste in my mouth. The ravioli looked like it was bought from a supermarket and made in a factory as you could see the machine marks around the edges. Not what you want when looking for the authentic Italian food experience. The restaurant could do with some Fly catchers in as there was load of the bugs landing on the tables etc.

The pizza has bubbly cheese on it and it is very gooey. The mushrooms were well complimented on the pizza with the bread and cheese together. Costa 8 euros for all pizza and the three ingredients. It is good to go here cause, on the main road in Pisa it costs more than the sides. Going through the pizza the chef seems like they put effort in has got abundantly the mushrooms and cheese. When i cook curry i get big mushrooms cause my chapatti at home is larger, so it would not work with the mushrooms.

The best pizza we've had since arriving in Italy. Taken with a grain of salt, we've only had about 4 pizza's since we've been here. The staff was wonderful and courteous and was considerate about our request(splitting the pizza in half, lately ordering 2 pizza's have been too much) I would love to come back to Pisa someday and will definitely keep this place pinned for the future!

This is a bustling cafe and bar opposite one of the most beautiful churches of Pisa and almost on the waterfront so close to a lot of worthwhile places to see. We had fresh and tasty spinach and ricotta cannelloni and mushroom risotto which was delicious and the service was prompt and the staff speak good English and prices were reasonable so we were happy! Great place for people watching too

Cute little bistro, great for a quick sandwich in a less crowded side street. They warm up the good sandwiches in no time and have a decent coffee. Recommendable for a quick in and out.

This is the best pizzeria in Pisa, hands down! Whenever my friend and family are visiting Italy I bring them here for the delicious meters of pizza :D My only problem is that if you come on a Saturday night you will most likely witness a birthday or graduation party that is always quite rowdy, the solution is to come during the weekdays and a bit earlier, the garden is practically empty at 8pm

Le Scuderie serves the best pizza ever. Lovely staff. We came early as didn't want to miss out but was quiet when we arrived. Soon started to fill up with families and couples. Very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back before we return home, though we may just have to have half a metre of pizza next time (a metre of pizza is a LOT of Pizza) Just an update really. We have been back twice more since our first visit and le Scuderie has delivered on every visit. Fantastico!!!!!

We went here yesterday eve for some pasta and decided to return today at lunch for the pizza (let's face it you can't say no to 1 meter of pizza once you've discovered it) Both the visits were great and the place is very well visited by locals which i always take as a good sign. Unfortunately no good photos of yesterdays pasta but hey have a look at this insane pizza! 3 different flavours on 1 meter of Italian Heaven, we loved it! It's a great sharing dish for 4 persons just like the place recommended.

This is amazing local pizzeria. The pizza is awesome. It is sold in three sizes 1 metre, .5 metre & round (personal size). I shared a half metre. It was enough for the two of us. The price is outstanding. The service is efficient but when it gets busy you aren’t going to have the service staff hanging around your table. But they are easy to flag down in the case that you need some more wine. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza.

Mixed feelings Good Pucce Ordered a slice of cecina which was nice but overpriced for a slice (1,50 euros). Also had the pizza Cotto, just ok, generous fillings though. Had the caprese pucce, really liked it. The best dish of of the meal.

We had two pizzas, one with rocket and tomatoes and the other one with zucchini flowers. The taste of the toppings and the texture of the dough were terrific. The best pizza I have eaten in Italy. To desert, we had tiramisu and rocher, the rocher was great, and the tiramisu was unbelievable, the best tiramisu we've tried. We also had two bottles of water and two cups of coke and the final price was 45 euros. An excellent price for such an experience. Finally the owner and the family was pleasant and nice and we had a lovely conversation. If I'll ever return to Pisa, I'll return to this place for sure.

This is a must-visit pizzeria. A family-run business with very nice and friendly owners. As for the food, oh we loved it. Their pizzas were very fresh and had a great taste. Their home-made tiramisu is also a must-try. We ordered one to share but ended up ordering another one because it was like a dream😊🍴They are open for lunch between 12:00-15:00 and then at 19:00 for dinner. This restaurant became one of our favourite restaurants in Italy. We absolutely loved it and came 2 days in a row while we stayed in Pisa. The food is out of this world. We have never tasted spagetti bolognese like this anywhere. This is a family owned restaurant are everyone is very friendly and polite and they provided us an exceptional service. This is must try restaurant in Pisa if you get a chance. Highly recommended.

Good pizzas. We also got to try the bolognese as we saw it being made. However the bolognese had no taste of tomatoe, therefore, I did not enjoy it as much as the one my housemate makes. I found it a bit loud in the restaurant and somehow something is causing pressure on the ears. It stopped sometimes and then put pressure on again. Not sure what that is. The service was excellent. Off the main tourist roads, but very easy to find. worth the walk to get here. when you see a few "le nonne" walking around the restaurant working you know this place is going to be worth the trip here. Went for the wild boar parpadelle ragu and was not let down! best pasta we had while in Pisa. kids had Pizza each, really good value as can pay extra 5€ for a pizza of same size in the more tourist restaurants. Tomato Bruschetta was also well worth it with the fresh local tomatoes. Service was very friendly and amazing for a small family restaurant.

Nice restaurant near the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The pizza was delicious, we also tried their pici and they were delicious too. The service was okay, even though they were not very talkative or polite.

We visited this place in the beginning of June. We ordered veggie patty subs. It got very crowded after we entered the shop. The subs tasted okay. The employee here was very rude. He treated us as if he was giving us the food for free. He particularly mentioned to us that there is no refill of drink. He dint tell the same to other customers. Also when I asked for the PIN for the using the rest room, he gave it with weird facial expression. I would not recommend this place.

Not so friendly to my surprise I purchased foot long sub and asked them to pack separately they denied doing it stating they will charge it as 2 15 cm subs i was very annoyed by the way the staff responds to you better avoid this if you are expecting the same response you get in your home country

It is hard to believe that in Italy pizza might be that bad. The warning sign are the strange names of singers given to the pizzas. The dough is dry, hard - crounchy. The toppings miserable. I am sorry but all I can say is to avoid this place

Lovely place - we are very happy that it was open during Sunday evening. Nice service, really helpful young lady and the owner, the place has an unique history, it's worth to know! Wonderful ideas for names of their pizzas and other food. We had there very tasty evening: plate of sliceses of cecina with toppings and a wonderful foccacia. For desert: panna cotta! This place knows what is a great food! Definitely recommend Pizzeria L'Arancia. <3 :)

We went there for our second day in Pisa. The service is impeccable. They are super nice and the food is honestly incredible. I recommend the 4 formagi even though it’s a classic.

This great little pizzeria is tucked away in a side street and away from the madding crowds near the Leaning Tower. We were welcomed with a smile and the owner took the time to chat with us and tell us about the specialities of Pisa and the region. We had super cocktails, great Cecini, pizzas (named after musicians and rock bands. No David Byrne though, maybe one day!) and a really decent Sangiovese from a small, local producer. Fantastic quality, fantastic value. Bravissimo!

Best pizza I ever have in my life. Staff can speak English fluently and extremely friendly. The waitress welcome me with a warm smile and the food is amazing. The bread are perfectly warmed. The saltiness of the hams and richness of cheese merge together perfectly on the pizza. I enjoyed every bite of my pizza. It's a parade in my mouth. Very friendly and I will recommend everyone who visits Pisa give this place a try.

The food was horrible, tasteless. The pizza base looked like the one’s we buy from the supermarket, very hard and no flavour at all. If this is the Italian pizza I will not eat pizza anymore. A waist of money

We had our Welcome pizza party here the day before our wedding and all I can say is that it was incredible! Ingrid and the team were amazing, the food was incredible and the outside garden is the perfect location for a gathering of friends and family. Grazie mille!! ❤️🇮🇹

Amazing food and great service. It’s a hidden gem in Pisa. Highly recommended. We had the tagliolini with mushrooms and octupos, spaghetti on the rock, fried mixed seafood. Enjoyed all of them. Definitely will return.

Food was nothing extra - good food but waiter was bad. We have easters degustation menu and we ask if it is not to big if it is possible take only 2 menu and sharing… no it is not possible Will be better half of food put to the bin it is not normal for me…. They say you can take it take away ok but why..?! If I ordet tadting menu I would like small porcion not porcion for 6 person 🤔🤷‍♂️

If you're looking for authentic Italian pizza then this is the wrong place. We chose this place because it had good reviews on Google, but it seems like the review might be fake. The pizza tastes like the frozen one that we can buy at supermarket. They have menu on the board on the street, but turns out the menu is completely different. So I ordered chicken, but didn’t expect this 😅. Good side is that the location is good.

Food was OK, service was OK, calculations were somewhat strange. Pizza was nice, seafood pasta was nice, but too salty to my taste. I asked for non alcoholic mojito and got this strange sweet liquid, no mint, no lemon, but had to pay as for the full alcoholic drink. Same with wine - smaller portion, but not the smaller price. Anyway, place was fine and not too crowded

There are two menus. Signs are put up along the street to attract people. When you are seated, you are handed a different menu. The dishes that are advertised on the street are not available even when asked. We ordered anyway and were disappointed again. Definitely not recommended.

We visited this place on vacation in Pisa on the first day and returned there all three days! Very tasty pizza from the oven, nice prices and friendly staff, especially the man. They can serve in English. There is a cozy terrace. If you want to try the best pizza in Pisa, then go there!

This place is a gem of Pisa. Starting from amazing and kind staff, finishing on the great food. It was very clean inside, delicious food was served very fast, and home made wine was simply on point. The lady that was taking care of our table was professional and kind. The menu was so cool! We felt like at home and will definitely remember this place for a long time.💚🤍❤️

This place was strongly recommended to me. We had a pesto lasagna which was divine and a Romana Pizza that was the best I have ever had. We also had a tiramisu, everything we had in this place was so, so good, well balanced and delicious! Prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly and efficient. It's not far from the Leaning Tower, it's conveniently located away from all tourists traps.

This is an enjoyable, cheap, cheap, struggling students' place. They make the pasta to order right in front of your eyes, put it in a perfectly adequate thick paper container, and you bring it to your table. This is Tuscany; the pasta is done perfectly, and the selection of types and of sauces is all you could want at four or five times the price at a restaurant with more decor serving people who have already achieved an income. The wine comes out of a bag, but this is Tuscany: the wine, red or white, was never less than pleasant. They have a couple of brands of cold beer. If you're a tourist, you'll have a seven or eight minute hike from the Leaning Tour. Pisa has a great university, and if you're a student, you'll probably find right it around the corner from where you live. The internal dinning rooms are like a cafeteria, but they have outdoor seating as nice as the local weather. Highly recommended for anyone hungry at lunchtime. This is not a hotel.

Good pasta. Very close to pisa. We really struggle to pick which one will be best to us. But the people there explaining clearly about the every dish. If you love you to have a good pasta in a better rate it's a much recommended.

Delicious pasta, bruschetta and desserts at a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful, bonus points for a clean restroom. Seating outside next to the wall in a nice quiet area out of the rat race.

Good pasta with flavourful sauces. I really recommend the one with the eggplant. They dishes were a bit too salty for my taste and the bacon used in Carbonara was frozen, not fresh unfortunately, so the food takes 3,5/5. The size of the portions is good and the prices too. The environment is a typical fast food environment so don't expect a lot.

Wanted to find some pasta for lunch (6 of us!). 10 min walk from the tower and in a nice sheltered spot with outside seating. All dishes are made fresh €8, lunch sized portion which is more than enough, great selection, the usual carbonara, bolognaise, along with some local dishes. Would recommend to anybody visiting Pisa. … very pleasant service also!

Great place to energize after all the walking along the ancients walls of Pisa and conveniently located. Fresh pasta made in front of you, while you wait for your food. The pasta dishes we ordered were perfectly cooked and seasoned, which will make you want more as the dishes are not only delicious, but very affordable. My best dishes here would be the tiramisu and lasagne.

Worst pasta we’ve had in all of Italy. They claim to have “homemade pasta” but the taste is clearly identifiable as shelf-stable boxed pasta. The Cacio e Pepe tasted like boxed pasta and pepper, there was no cheese taste or sauce whatsoever. Flavor was nonexistent. Try somewhere else!

We found Kiste La Pizza Artigianale a bit overhyped. The pizza was fine—nothing extraordinary—but the gnocchi had an overwhelming amount of basil, which made it taste bitter and hard to enjoy. That said, the staff was really kind and attentive, and the service overall was great. Not a bad experience, but we personally wouldn’t rush back.

The restaurant is very close to the Pisa Tower. Unfortunately, there was no air-conditioning inside, and it was too hot outside. The fans spraying water didn’t really help to reduce the heat. The waitress, a young lady who spoke excellent English, was very attentive and managed to serve many people on her own quite well. The food was good, but the portions were rather small for the price.

Had pizza right next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa 🍕🥰 We’re vegetarians and were so happy to find lots of veggie options here! They can even take out onion and garlic, which is perfect for us. The waitress was super friendly and spoke great English — service was amazing overall. If you can, grab a seat outside! Sitting in the corner gives you the best spot to enjoy your meal and snap a photo with the tower at the same time

Very near the Pisa tower, nice background while eating, the food is excellent! We had lasagne, spaghetti carbonara & spaghetti scolgio (seafood) and it was magnificent! It is affordable and accessible. The staff are friendly and accomodating. It was a very hot day when we visited but they provided a mist- fan for outside seating, the staff are able to speak english and their menu has english translation! Good place to eat!

Literally a stone throw away from the tower of pisa. Michelle (staff) greeted us warmly and recommended what to order. Booked through Fork and got a table immediately. Highly recommend after your visit in Pisa.

The best and affordable pizza in Pisa! They speak a lot of languages so it’s a great spot for tourists. You can see the tower from here. Nice view, nice servers a little bit noisy because of the street but still okay. At this spot you are not being scammed, which is kinda rare. Definitely a not well known but very good spot to eat. 10/10 would recommend ;)

Probably the only pizzeria nearby this area, always busy! For dine in better with reservation otherwise there won’t be a table to sit. The would offer bar seat if you are willing to wait, we did on the first time visit. Pizza is good many options to choose, price so much cheaper than where we used to lived. Second time we were planning just to take away, the lady so nice told us we have to wait 30 minutes for pizza take away ( i know this long right) so we decided to just take pieces of pizza of what available . I saw many comments about taking so long but indeed the orders didnt stop , phone, apps ,people came. For me they did good job cause they advised us about the reality We will be going there often cause we justvmoved to this area and the pizzeria is something acceptable taste and ok for us. 🙏 Thank you everyone that working so hard in this pizzeria

One of the best pizza spots in Pisa! 🍕 Over 90 varieties, and the staff were so kind helped me pick the perfect pizza, noticed a missing ingredient before I did, and got it remade instantly with a smile (plus free bread while I waited!). Tastes incredible, service is top-notch and it’s cheaper than most places I’ve tried. Amazing food, even better hospitality. ✨🇮🇹

This was the third pizza place we tried in Pisa, and it was the best one. The shop seems super popular among the locals, and the waiter speaks good English and able to suggest really good pizza. We really liked the food, atmosphere and the service If I ever visit Pisa again, I will definitely revisit them.

Great pizza at affordable prices. We tried the Sicilian and Marinara pizzas, both of which were amazing and very tasty. For a starter, we had Cecina, a dish made from chickpea flour. It's worth trying, though it might not be my favorite. + The service was exceptional and very friendly.

We found this restaurant on Google Maps, and I can say it serves some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life. I highly recommend trying the marinara pizza and the Siciliana pizza.

I never realized I could find socca this good outside of Nice. It truly tastes like a piece of the French Riviera.

Went here straight from the aiport because of the good reviews. We arrived here at 23:30 so half an hour before closing. The only possibilty was to do take away and thats what we did but they still let us eat our box pizza at there terace, which was kind. The pizzas have a thicker crust and are pan pizzas but very tasty but not like your regular pizza. Could reccomend going here, puzza starting from 6€ is amazing

We accidentally entered into this cafe. The pizzeria is small but very cozy. The staff is very friendly. We ordered pizza "Contadina" and two espresso. The pizza was very tasty🤤 The dough is different, that I ate in other town, but it doesn't make it worse. We were in no hurry, so we did not pay attention to how quickly it was brought. While we were sitting, there were a lot of orders for delivery from the locals, so I think we made a great choice) The only wish: to duplicate the menu in English (I had a translator in my phone and it helped me). Best pizza of my life! The Margherita is unique in terms of the crust and the layering. I loved the new style pizza as well which had truffle oil. This place deserves a higher rating.

Worst pizza i have eaten in Italy :( oily, pizza dough more like focaccia then pizza. Nice staff but WORST - we were waiting for a takeaway order. We took a beer and waited at an empty table, without any cover. Despite this, a coperto of 1.5 euros was added.

Pizza was extremely oily but still tasty. However my issue is with the service. Despite waiting patiently in the queue and finally having our order taken after half an hour, we then waited a further half an hour/45 mins to receive our meals. I’m extremely aware cooking an order fresh takes time but during this time, many locals were served and left with bigger orders right in front of us! This wouldn’t have bothered us so much if the staff had been more accurate about when ours would be ready. Eventually after waiting close to 45 minutes, I once again asked at the counter and the young man (the only one to take in to account how long we’d been waiting at the counter) then started to make ours.

The best pizza I’ve had in Italy. Somehow they managed to make the pizza crunchy and juicy at the same time, which is unbelievable! A must-try if you stop by Pisa Centrale. Makes me sad that I can’t come to this joint more often than I would have liked.
