Amazing attraction in this historic town... We were a part of a day trip from Seville. This place has a history that goes back to Romans from early first millennium through to Islamic influence from 8th century finally culminating in Christian influence reflected on the Gothic style from the 16th century. The hugely experienced local guide, Fernando took us through the finer details of each architectural style, which is still preserved in this wonderful structure, which is still a functioning cathedral. The evolution of this building is a reflection of the history of southern Spain, including Seville & Granada, especially Cordoba. The whole area outside the cathedral has so many different pieces of history attached to it. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

Visiting the Mezquita of Córdoba is truly an unforgettable experience. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by its iconic forest of red-and-white arches, dim lights, and a sense of history that feels almost magical. The mix of Moorish and Christian architecture is stunning and unlike anything else in the world. The building is very well preserved, impressive in size, and easy to explore at your own pace. Every corner has something unique to appreciate—from the intricate details in the mihrab to the grandeur of the cathedral built at the center. I highly recommend getting there early to avoid crowds and to really take in the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re interested in history, architecture, or simply beautiful places, the Mezquita is a must-see and one of the highlights of Córdoba.

Breathtaking historical site. The building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Admission also includes several churches around town, and the 13 euro price is very reasonable. It is fairly dark inside, but you are still able to see the most important areas. Buy your tickets ahead of time as this is a popular destination!

This is an impressive Mosque/Cathedral. It has a tremendous amount of history. I will spend even more time checking out this impressive place. You have to go inside if you are here in Cordoba. It really is a very impressive Cathedral with an incredible history.

An absolutely stunning place. It's impressive from the moment you enter. The combination of a mosque and a Catholic cathedral is something unheard of anywhere else. A must-see when visiting Andalusia.

A beautiful and historic place that still reflects the spirit of Islamic Andalusia. Although much of it has been restored, its architecture remains breathtaking. Parts of it clearly resemble the Great Mosque of Damascus. The later addition of the church in its center changed the harmony of the original design, yet you can still feel the soul of the old mosque within its walls.

Historical & Legendary bridge in Cordoba If you are a history buff like me then this is a must do for you. I do not recall being able to walk on a bridge dating back from the roman period that is so well preserved anywhere else in Europe. This is obviously renovated a few times, but still the structure itself remain from the Romans times. This is a beautiful and fantastic experience, it is a historic bridge with fabulous & stunning views of the Mezquita and the river. Absolute must do!

The Roman bridge is really great. You get a really good view of the walled city of Cordoba. Nice views. The Guadalquivir River passed under the bridge. This river was named by the Moors and it is Wadi Al Quivir which means the great river. It was the longest navigable river in Spain through history and was navegable all the way to Cordoba. Since it has been dammed at a few places and many cities and communities take water from the river. It is still navegable from Seville to Cadiz, but not upriver from Seville.

Walking across the Roman Bridge of Córdoba felt like stepping back in time. As the sun began to set, the warm golden light reflected off the stones, creating a magical atmosphere 🌅. From the middle of the bridge, the view of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba was breathtaking, and watching the city come alive as evening fell was unforgettable. Strolling here was peaceful and full of history — a must-do experience when visiting Córdoba! 🌉✨

Visited the Roman Bridge of Córdoba late at night — no sunlight, just the warm lights on the bridge under a sky full of stars. The reflections on the river made it look timeless and surreal. One of the most peaceful and beautiful morning scenes I’ve ever photographed. 5AM

Well it's a bridge! Nothing particularly spectacular. You get a nice view over the old city and over the tower. Not more than that. The bridge itself isn't particular in my opinion.

I was going to skip it but glad we didn't. We only visited the gardens and they were stunning. It's very peaceful and well designed and maintained, you just want to keep wandering there for a long time.

Gorgeous and inspiring palace! Gardens are amazing !!! Lots of art, furnishings, tapestries, books, even antique guns. When booking the tour a guide will bring you upstairs to visit the private quarters, including the kitchen and explain the origin (different countries) of most of the items. Our tour was in Spanish, but we had a pamphlet in English.

You can also visit the house itself with a guided tour, but we only did the walk through the patios of the mansion. Beautiful to look at and very serene and peaceful. Also a lot cooler than the streets in the summer heat.

A fantastic place to visit, especially for gardeners! This palace was occupied for 500 years by a series of families who gradually crated a series of patios and a garden. We only visited the first floor which included all of the patios. That ticket is 8.50 per person.

Very cute palace with something like 12 gardens! We didn't do the whole tour of the palace but paid only for the gardens. Nonetheless you get a glimpse of what's inside in msny occasions. Worth a visit!

If you love the Spanish gardens, definitely come here. Lots of beautiful courtyards you can walk through with lots of beautiful flowers and plants. Definitely worth a visit!

Refreshing step in the dozens of patios of the Palacio de Viana. Entry is 8.50€ p.p and definitely worth it if you have some free time. The best season to visit this place is surely Spring, where many walls are covered with blooming wisteria! 💜

This is the only remaining synagogue in Andalusia and one of just three preserved in all of Spain. Built in 1315 by Isaq Moheb in the Mudéjar style, it is small in size but renowned for its intricate decoration. After the expulsion of the Jews in 1492, it was used as a church, hospital, and school before being restored and preserved as a historic monument and cultural site.

Beautiful little historic site in the Jewish Quarter. Built in the fourteenth century with stunning Mudejar details and Hebrew inscriptions. Right nearby is the statue of Maimonides, the famous Andalusian philosopher and physician. A quick visit but full of history and absolutely worth stopping by.

All the info about the synagogue you can find online - one of the three best preserved Medieval synagogues in the whole of Spain. Synagogue was build in 1315, and I visited it on Passover eve, day when back in history, more than 880 years ago was born here in Cordoba Maimonides (Rambam), Sephardic Rabbi and philosopher - the most important Torah scholar of the Middle Ages. Very special place in time. Synagogue is a square room with high walls covered with decorative plaster Mudejar-style plant motifs and Hebrew verses mostly from the Psalms, most of them were deciphered. On the right side of the The hekhal (ark), where the Torah scrolls were kept, is a Hebrew inscription that states that this place has been refurbished by Yitzhak Mahab son of the wealthy Ephraim in the Hebrew year 5075 (1315 C.E.). Piece of Jewish history in Cordoba - definitely worth to visit, even if you are not Jewish

The only synagogue that survived the expulsion and Inquisition in Andalucía. Built during the Jewish Golden Age under the Umayyad caliphate, some say this could have been a private synagogue due to its small size. It is accessible to wheelchair users. Entrance is free

We visited as part of a walking tour. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot about the sefardic Jewish population of the city.

It's a small synagogue in the Jewish quarter. It doesn't have any services now as it's a sort of museum. People can imagine how it was centuries back. One of the most preserved synagogues in Spain, second to that of Toledo, it shows the altar and the place where women congregate separate from men.

One of the most amazing sights in Spain. The Mezquita as it is known as is a classic example master that knew how to build a ppace of worship. The mosque-cathedral is truly beautiful and pictires almost wont do it justice. The arches and whole complex is one amazing plave that takes you back hundreds of years ago and once inside you can truly experience and appreciate the history. The ground was vroken more than 1000 years ago and in its current form, more than 400 years old. Its been a unesco world heritage site since the 80's

Deeply upsetting, these animals deserve better! I visited this site in Córdoba and was really saddened by the sight of the horses pulling tourist carriages. It was around 8:00 PM, the sun had already set, but it was still 33°C. One horse stood completely still in the harness, but was frantically tossing its head up and down, clearly distressed. Now imagine: if this is how they behave at the end of the day, after hours of heat, noise, and work… how must they feel after standing there all day long? This isn’t just part of the cultural experience but it’s silent suffering. Please think twice before supporting this kind of tourism. There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of the city without contributing to animal exploitation.

Beautiful bridge that links to the old city. Good view in the day.

You can't avoid it, so there's no need to make time for it as you'll pass by it on your way from or to the Roman Bridge. It is beautiful at night, and such are its surroundings and the walls of the Mesquita.

Majestic and imposing, although it clearly looks like a reconstruction of the original gate. You can certainly imagine the impression it would have made to any visitor back during medieval times as they approached the city.

Puerta del Puente The entrance gate to the old city This is not the gate built by the Romans but a gate built in the 16th century in honor of King Philip II. From here cross the Guadalquivir river and overlook the old city. It is highly recommended to come here at night, the views from the bridge and on the other side of the river are amazing.

A sort of a triumphal arch. You will see it when crossing the Roman bridge whether you're heading to the old town or away from it. Is it the most impressive arch that you'll ever see/ No. But its pleasant to look at and makes for a good landmark for meetings.

overrated! its not hidden gem, its a tourist trap. Place is a small lane with flower pots on the wall, not very wide even to contain all the mass of tourist hoping to take a photo of empty tranquil lane with flower. Again, its definitely not that

Beautiful place and concept but lots and lots of tourists, especially if coming from a tour. It was very hard to see and appreciate this narrow alley with blue pots hanging from the walls. A bit overrated and if you don’t like crowds, avoid this place or look at it from the entrance.

What a great experience and I truly feel that there should be more such restaurants. Perfect intro level to fine dining in a very down to earth atmosphere. There were families with children and the price is very low in comparison to what you get. This is the type of place that will not scare off people afraid of the concept of fine dining. I dont think its michelin star quality but I also feel this is not the intention of the chef. What a great ambassador to fine dining!

It's not just amazing cuisine with great wine and music pairings, it's a journey you'll remember. There's a way to take people on a walk on a memory lane that is very captivating. The display of the dishes are a joyride like no other and they always come with a perfectly thought of pairings. The emphasis is on local and Spanish wines. This is truly a fine dining experience, not just a fine dining dinner. A warm and joyful experience!

Yesterday we were able to enjoy the wonderful feast that was conjured up by the entire team of ReComiendo. From the reception to the farewell, we were taken by the hand by an extremely friendly team for a top gastronomic journey. Each dish is an art in both taste and presentation and each dish is a story in itself. The matching wines fully accentuate the rich flavors. A heavenly experience for all the senses. Special compliments to Chef Ortega who conjures up a dish at the table in all modesty. But also to the service who presented the dishes in a wonderfully committed and original way and guided us through the entire evening. A top evening for us: we walked back home as two happy people. Wow. Just amazing. Best meal I’ve had in some time and by far the best on my visit to Spain. It isn’t cheap, but it’s great value. So many dishes and we lost track of the accompanying drinks. In the end we felt so full I thought I was going to explode! Fabulous night, amazing service and appreciated meeting the chef.

Very different. Food presentation and taste sensations amazing as was the whole experience. Staff very attentive and explained the make up and rational for every one of the 10 or so courses. Everything of the finest quality including the wine, an extremely good Chablis To illustrate the experience one of the early courses had gazpacho like you have never tasted served in an earthen ware pot and two miniature beer mugs together with a toothpaste tube of extract of chorizo Would I like eat like this everyday, no, will I go again a very definite yes. Not cheap.

Fantastic little restaurant with amazing service and great food. We had the degustation menu which had some brilliant creations and was pair with some great wines from around Spain. They also have a competition between their deserts and ask you to vote on a chalkboard as to which is your favourite, which is a fun touch. Really enjoyed our experience here. It's a little pricey in comparison to other restaurants but you won't be disappointed!

We had reservations for dinner. Great location, next to the Mezquita-Catedral of Cordoba. They sat us in a private room which was perfect for our party of six. The music was a bit loud but they kindly adjusted the volume for us. The mojitos and beer were great and ordered the braised beef cheeks with sweet potatoes, beef hamburgers and Iberian pork with truffle potatoes. Everything was delicious even the fresh baked bread with olive oil. The only thing was the hamburgers were very under cooked in the center and had to be sent back. The service was wonderful and the setting was rustic and charming.

The food is quite interesting and diverse. Nice unique touches to standard Spanish cuisine. We had a room all to ourselves at the back and it was fun for the kids. Nice atmosphere with smooth jazz on the speakers.

We had the absolute best experience here thanks to Fran! From start to finish, the service was beyond outstanding warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. Fran didn’t just take care of us, he made our entire trip unforgettable. The food was fantastic, but what really stood out was the way Fran made us feel so welcome and valued. You can tell he truly cares about giving guests a great time. We’ll definitely be back this week with friends, and we’ll be asking for Fran again. Thank you for such an incredible experience we can’t wait to return!

We ate here at a friend of a friend's recommendation and it was INCREDIBLE! The food and drinks were so good, the music and ambiance were fantastic, and the service was phenomenal. For food, we followed our waitress's recommendations for ordering. Everything was delicious, and from the regular menu, if you like oxtail definitely get the Pad Thai. The special was a flatbread focaccia and very good. We ate dinner in the dining area then went to the first floor for a concert. They also have a great rooftop bar with a cool peek-a-boo view of the Mezquita.

We had an excellent evening at Horno San Luis Cordoba. The staff were really welcoming, and we enjoyed the cooked cheese dish and steak with the ‘crinkly’ potatoes and Padron peppers. We had been to the bar 9 years ago and the return visit was equally as good. There are lots of cocktail and wine choices too.

Came for dinner & drinks in the evening as it was close to the roman bridge. Staff were great - friendly & efficient. Atmosphere was really good too. Cocktails were fresh & delicious. Food was good quality & full of flavour.

Amazing. I passed by day and night and have to say that by nighttime the view is beautiful! I didn't know both roman emperors Adriano and Tranano were born at Córdoba! Crazy

Magnificent remains of Roman influence in Córdoba. It was built in the 1st century B. C. It can be visited now inside after renovating and putting a platform for people to see them up close.

This is a Corinthian-style temple built of white marble and believed to date from the reign of Emperor Claudius, between 41 and 54. It once stood at the heart of the ancient forum of Colonia Patricia, symbolizing the city’s religious and political importance during its Roman prosperity. Rediscovered in the 1950s during the construction of the City Hall, it remains one of Córdoba’s most significant archaeological sites.

Very nice temple in the downtown area of Cordova. Only a few pillars remain, but the area is nicely cordoned off and you can see the total space easily. Take pictures during midday because the light will beautifully highlight the white columns. I wish more of the Roman areas in the city were well preserved, as they were in Zaragoza, but it's still nice. The temple is outdoors so it's free. Also, take pictures of the wild cats that make this place their home.

As far as Roman temples go this one is pretty disappointing. One row of clearly reconstructed columns mounted on rebuilt brick pediments, and that's it. It really should be called "8 Roman Columns" instead of Roman Temple, because the temple is missing. Entirely. No access to tourists was visible, and I did walk around the so called "ruins." The streets that surround the temple do have a few tapas bars which is some kind of consolation for the disappointment of the temple.

Amazing walk, worth the money. Especially welcoming owners, open to discussing the gardens. The flowers are beautiful everywhere. Don't hesitate.

The beautifully decorated patios of San Basilio neighbourhood of Cordoba was not something we had heard about. We went on a guided tour to this area, which was a lovely experience. Apparently, there is an annual competition of the patios in May and we were pleased to visit some former prize winners. The families were very welcoming and keen to explain about their proud exhibits, which were beautiful. We usually buy something or leave a little contribution as a token of their hard work. It was something which came as a pleasant surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a neighbourhood with beautiful patios in locals’ homes. Many will let you in for free but ask for a donation when you do. Came here on a Monday so many were closed but still managed to see a couple of great examples. Take your time to walk around and maybe have a beer at one of the alfresco cafes or bars in the neighbourhood.

Absolutely gorgeous patios. I visited as many patios as possible and these were easily my favorite. If you only visit a couple patios, make it these; so beautiful. The earlier you arrive the shorter the lines, but even at 1100 with a substantial line it was only a 15min wait. Entrance is free, but I recommend bringing some euro coins so you can donate a little bit and help them maintain the flowers.

You're visiting Cordoba not only for its Mesquita or Alcazar but also and maybe not less for its wonderful Patios. These are among the main attractions in Cordoba, not to be missed. The only problem is that the people living there are not always nice and often demand a fee for visiting their place. A fee is legitimate of course, but then shouldn't they let us know that before we enter and visit, and let us decide whether the visit is worth the price they demand. Awkward and unpleasant situations could be then avoided. Still, absolutely beautiful to see

There was a long Queue to get the tickets even though there is a ticket machine not far away from the counter. After the entrance, we followed the crowd which are mostly Spanish speaking. There was no English explanation which probably needed to rent a machine recorder which I didn’t. There was not much inside to view except the mosaic room while others are mostly empty space. Outdoor garden is ok but uncomparable to those in France.

Disappointing. All the middle water features are empty, so there is no water, no fountains. Part of the gardens closed off. No deductions in cost. Personally, I don't believe it's should be open whilst it's under renovation. Currently, it's a waste of money and time visiting. From the photos shown around the gardens, it looks like it can be beautiful.

The fountains weren’t working when we visited, which was a pity, but everything else felt pretty neglected as well. literally any city park in Spain looks better. There is even a poster they’ve hung up that they are trying to improve the facilities 😅

This fortified palace complex is all about the Gardens, as far as I'm concerned. The castle is not very impressive, and the palatial part is down right forgettable. However, the Gardens and pools are very pleasant. Other than that, there is one large hall dedicated to roman mosaics found at the site which is ok, there is also a good amount of the structure that still lies in ruins with stray cats running all over them. Another positive, there are at least two separate public bathrooms, which is always nice to know...

The gardens are beautiful and the main reason to visit. Queuing for the tower is not worth it, in my opinion. One thing I would recommend improving are restrooms, there could be more facilities given how many people visit this place.

The museum (indoor part) is quite small which you would probably think it’s not worth paying for visiting but the garden is actually beautiful and huge. The ticket booth is on the opposite side of the entrance across the road and there’s a ticket machine that you can also buy tickets without waiting for the queue and it’s €0.18 cheaper.😅

The other Must See in Cordoba but after the Cathedral Mesquita of course. We were not lucky as the weather was cloudy but at least it wasn't scalding hot. This alcazar has a beautiful architecture and beautiful gardens as well, but still not on par with the Alcazar of Seville, nor, in my opinion the Segovia Alcazar' though this last one is a medieval castle rather than a Arabic palace. Buying tickets in advance is not required (unlike in Seville where you have to do that long in advance). Just look at the pictures

Super neat small boutique place. Bangbin the middle of the old town, close to the river. If you have the top floor room, super spacious with glorious terrace and views. But steep price. Good communication in advance (re tours etc) but crucial info on how to enter old town would have been nice to have before arrival. Cause u actually have to enter through a barrier and drive quite a bit through semi pedestrian area. Anyhow, super experience, but be aware, no breakfast.

Wow! You know when a hotel is so special that you want to keep it a secret? La Ermita Suites is such a place, but I also feel compelled to review it in order to support the hotel as much as possible! The hotel has 6-rooms in a renovated medieval church. The renovation was done to the highest standards, with heavy fixtures, a large modern bathroom, and ice-cold air conditioning. At the same time, you really feel transported in history, but with the benefit of modern comforts. The truly special aspect of the hotel is Javier and his staff, who were incredibly patient, knowledgable and helpful. Javier, above everything during our 2-day stay, made our visit to Cordoba special. He also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and a flamenco show, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel. It has a perfect location in Cordoba, is located on a charming square, and has convenient parking within a 5-minute walk. In our case, we unloaded luggage at the hotel, checked in, and then parked the car at the nearby lot for 2-straight days. It was all very convenient.

This is the perfect place to stay in Cordoba! The hotel is in a beautiful historic building. The staff is very communicative and friendly, and the rooms are beautiful, clean, and well appointed. We were on the top floor and the suite is stunning with an incredible two terraces. Everything in the old city is within walking distance.

An absolute gem! La Ermita Suites have been stunningly designed with every detail carefully curated. The heritage of the historical buildings, which combines 3 cultures ) has been stunningly melded into a wonderful hotel. The rooms contain everything you could possibly need, wonderful beds and bed linen, shutters and pure white linen curtains, gorgeous bathrooms. It is quite simply heaven and (having stayed in somewhere more expensive in Cordoba before) I would book here again in a heartbeat!! Just wonderful .

Perfect! It was calm although it was in the middle of the city centre of cordoba. It was a very special place to stay. Everything is carefully choosen and beautiful. Dreamlike!

A hidden gem with best service and room within our three weeks visit of Spain. Had we known how wonderful this hotel would be, we would have stayed here much longer.

Fabulous stay at La Ermita, which sits right in the Center of Cordoba historic center but on a quiet square away from tourist noise and agitation. Rooms are all different and charming, all coming with a kitchen, beautifully decorated and showing some stone walls of the original building dating back to 1700. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly, providing support and directions to reach the hotel by car to drop your luggage. A public car park is available 2 minutes away. Wonderful experience I would warmly recommend.
