Hashem Restaurant Down Town is a must-visit for those seeking authentic local cuisine at reasonable prices. This bustling eatery in Amman offers a unique dining experience with no menus; instead, servers bring an array of Jordanian staples to your table, including fresh bread, hummus, mouttabal, ful medames, and delectable falafel.
One of the most delicious falafel and humus I eat in jordan. Salim is so helpfull and chill guy, thank you for good service and delicious food. Also the food is budget friendly.
Buse S — Google review
A real landmark in downtown Amman — if you want to eat falafel, this is the place to go. The food is authentic and flavorful, the staff is extremely friendly, and the vibe is very local. Open 24/7 with a simple menu that never disappoints. An essential stop for the true Jordanian street food experience.
Mohammed K — Google review
Ask the cashier in the booth about prices before ordering. I got the same food two days in a row, but the prices were different—even after double checking with some staff. Falafel and fatteh with meat are quite tasty, but I wouldn’t really recommend the place. It seems like they don’t really care about customers, and the food is served in an unclean way. Hmm… If you like their falafel, make sure to check out Mr. Falafel restaurant in Petra — it’s x3 better.
Minnie — Google review
It is one of the busiest restaurants in all Amman. You are lucky if you can find a table during lunch. It is massive in terms of fast local food and everything is so quick. I am not a falafel 🥙 guy but falafel hummus and water local bread for only 3 Jod, it is totally worth it. Don’t expect much just sit and eat and go.
Mustafa A — Google review
I guess my expectations were too high after seeing so many recommendations about this famous place. It’s good, and I have to highlight the falafel (one of the best I’ve ever had), but the rest was just average. The place felt a bit overwhelming, very noisy, hot, and with little ventilation. The payment system is questionable: you don’t see the prices anywhere, and you only find out the total after eating. In our case, for 1 french fries, 1 falafel, 1 hummus, and 2 waters, we paid 5 JOD. Personally, after trying other restaurants where we had meat dishes for a similar price, it felt a bit expensive. I’m not even sure if we were slightly overcharged… That said, it’s worth trying once. Service was quick, and we were seated within seconds of arriving!

Al Basha Shawarma - شاورما الباشا is a popular spot in Jordan known for its traditional shawarma. The menu features options like sliced lamb, chicken, or beef served in warm pita bread and topped with various ingredients such as raw onions and zaatar spice blend. The place is clean, offers affordable prices, and provides quick service for those looking to grab a satisfying meal on the go.
Best shawarma sandwich ever!!! It is very popular and full of locals. But they are very friendly and nice with tourists as well. The food is delicious. The meal seat is incredible, huge portions!
Helena B — Google review
Food is good and delicious and tasty. The service is fast and clean. I recommend it
Nab L — Google review
The place is clean and they wear gloves. The price is ok for the location, is small inside but if you want something fast and cheap to continue your trip I suggest you the chicken shawarma for 1.2 JD, is a wrap in pita brad and very tasty. I think they don't have WC, I didn't see one, but they were friendly even speaking just a bit of English.
Yonathan S — Google review
Solid shawarma for an affordable price and they speak English. Highly recommend for a quick bite
Evan C — Google review
Food: The shawarma was really amazing and tasty so were the fries provided. The price was cheap compared to other shawarma places in the area. Atmosphere: It's very small so it's a good idea to take your food as Take out. Service: The shawarma was prepared very quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Falafel restaurant
Fast food restaurant
AlQuds Falafel is an iconic spot in Amman, Jordan, known for serving the best falafel sandwiches. The falafel patties are made with ground chickpeas and a blend of aromatic spices, resulting in a light and fluffy texture on the inside and a crispy exterior. The sandwiches feature fresh, bright green falafel complemented by zingy peppers, tomatoes, and flavorful sauce.
Absolutely marvelous, taste great, size is amazing, light on your stomach and having it in a French bread makes it out of norm. People are amazing, truly enjoyed it. Did I say it costs almost 1 USD only, yes it does
Eddie S — Google review
Real cheap street food, nice taste better hot, and quick. Nice sandwich but not something I'd eat everyday. If you are on rainbow street and never had a falafel stop by and try it.
Robert M — Google review
While walking in the rainbow streets, I stopped by for a quick lunch and loved it. Delicious not just falafel also break too and very cheap. Absolutely recommended it👏
Musab K — Google review

Cafe
Nara Cafe, located on Rainbow Street, is a shisha bar that offers a laid-back atmosphere and an array of local drinks. While alcohol is not served, visitors can enjoy flavored tobacco from a water pipe, known as hookah. Despite some feedback about slow service, the overall experience at Nara Cafe is described as tranquil and enjoyable for those seeking a relaxing shisha session.
One of the best at rainbow Street with a Great staff very comfortable great place for hubbly bubbly and soft drinks
Qusai B — Google review
Local but mediocre Shisha lounge. Interior is a bit worn down, music too loud and Shisha (for what this place is known for) is are OK but not outstanding. Has potential especially in summer to people watch. In winter rather cold and not so joyful
Lukas H — Google review
Nice place if you like loud music, nice shisha and drinks..
Mohammed A — Google review
Very calm good shisha. Quite slow service
Abdullah N — Google review
Great place for shisha and soft drinks lovers the atmosphere is great right there, the prices there at the medium average Best shisha place there good service and lovely staff
Faii S — Google review
Awesome place to have a hookah! Big recommendation. We spend such a lovely and relaxing time there! In this cafe you see how modern the youth of Jordan is. It doesn't look different than any hookah face in Western Europe. Except that the waiter was extremely friendly and polite. We exchange some nuts for sunflower seeds. 😃
Mladen P — Google review
Okay lounge, but WiFi did not work, and staff didn’t bring me back full change. Charge 1JD for water instead of 0.5.
Matt H — Google review
Service sucks the waiters are busy talking to girls on the street or on their phones.and also their hookah is the worst. You would have to ask them for charcoal and they will tell you to wait and after 10 minutes of waiting you will get that charcoal .bi ordered the fresh fruit hookah head and believe me it was the worst hookah I ever smoked in my life and I'm big smoker I smoke like 3 to 4 times a day. I ain't coming back here anymore.

Hostel
Nestled in the heart of Amman, City Citadel Hotel offers a cozy retreat for travelers eager to explore the rich history surrounding them. Just a stone's throw from the iconic Citadel, which boasts layers of civilization dating back to ancient times, this hotel provides an ideal base for your adventures. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms and a warm atmosphere created by the attentive staff who are always ready to assist with any requests.
I stayed at the City Citadel Hotel several times. Each time, the owner and the team catered to my requests and needs. They are helpful and kind. Though the team does not speak English fluently, we managed to understand each other. The rooms are clean and beds are extra comfortable. The traditional breakfast gives a good taste of the Arabic culture, especially if you've just arrived in Jordan. The hotel is located right next to the center of Amman, which makes it perfect for a short stay. I highly recommend staying there!
Leyla Y — Google review
I contacted them a week before to get me a good room. However, when i arrived, the rooms were fully booked, and they had to let me wait until they emptied a big room . The next day, they moved to another room, and little did i know. The room was under some kind of a big refrigerator. I couldn't sleep from the sound, and i could sppiders nets in the room . The smell was terrible, and no one even cleaned my room for 7 days! It was the worst experience.
Walid C — Google review
Terrible hotel, dirty everywhere. I booked through Booking with free cancellation. After spending half an hour at the hotel and seeing the conditions, I decided to cancel, but the owner insisted and, in an arrogant manner, demanded that I pay for one night, obviously in cash without a receipt. Despite asking for it, I sent emails and messages to get the receipt in order to request a refund, but of course, I never received a response. Do not book here, the photos are a scam. The worst experience of my life!!
Chantal B — Google review
My conversation with the receptionist was very frustrating and annoying. I booked a room online for 35JoD, and then he demands 42 JoD for it. Also when I say can i pay with card he was like we do not have card machine. I can literally see the card machine there. Also, idk but i feel like he acts dumb and act like he do not understand how basic addition works, when I was paying him by seperate mediums. Like how when I paid 32.6 Dinar it becomes 32 dinar for him.
Devika B — Google review
I stayed here for 3 nights and it’s the best for that tariff. Best suites for travellers who wishes for just economical stay without any luxuries. Best part of this hotel is the location which is just 2-3 min walk to downtown(Hashem restaurant, Habibah sweets, and lot more). It’s just 5 min walk to Citadel and Roman theatre. Really best option if you are looking for downtown. The Receptionist Saif is very good at service and provides with services and info on time which really helps u in locating the places and all. I strongly recommend this hotel for travellers who are visiting Jordan.
Kalyan D — Google review
Long story short - adequate considering the price. The location is great, close to center and the staff was ok as well. You get what you need, but it was very loud since it's next to a highway and the photos of the rooms were much nicer than the actual room.
Albert C — Google review
One hour before checkin we got message that our reservation is cancel due to some electricity problems. Hotel stuff promised us other place to stay with similar standard and price. Hotel which we got was unacceptable, it looked like ruin. Hotel looked like someone homeless sleeped there. After we refused this option, we didnt got any support from hotel stuff. I understand that situations like that might happened but only what we wanted was small help to not be left alone in a foreign city. Finally we were forced to book some other hotel with almost double price. We dont recommend this hotel and their workers.
Karolina T — Google review
So nice staff, but the room I have toke was very horrible! They called it a deluxe room!!!!! So noisy because no double glass balcony door ! Very dirty balcony with a broken chaire, no nice view to mountains but on the main noisy road and buildings! Bed with multiple colors, a very bad taste, the room was dirty! I have never seen a hotel room like this ! The worst thing that pushed me to write about my experience, is that I could not even take a shower, there were only a very hot boiling water, no cold water, so no shower! And the bathroom was smelly ! If you pay with visa they charge you extra 8%!!!! Nothing was positive in my experience! First and last time ! I advice to prevent this place!

Shawarma restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Jabal Amman, Shawarma Reem stands as one of Jordan's oldest and most beloved shawarma spots. While you might find yourself waiting in line, rest assured that the delicious offerings are well worth it. Guests can choose between succulent chicken or beef shawarma, both prepared to perfection. The flavors are exceptional, with a special mention for their tahini sauce that adds an extra layer of delight to your meal.
Shawarma reem I always order from the main restaurant, it's the first time i ordered from this branch. The meal was very delicious and I like the tahina very much.
Rand — Google review
Shawerma Reem – A Must-Stop for Incredible Shawarma Shawerma Reem may be a small joint, but it delivers big flavors! The shawarma is among the best, with perfectly seasoned, juicy meat and a quick, efficient service that gets you your meal in no time. Every time I stop by Amman, this place is a must—I can never resist getting two or three! If you’re in the city and craving a delicious, no-fuss shawarma, Shawerma Reem is the place to go.
Zakos Y — Google review
The shawarma was prepared hours in advance, resulting in a cold and unappetizing experience. Eating cold beef shawarma is unpleasant, especially as the fat becomes quite greasy. Additionally, the proportion of onions and tomatoes significantly outweighed the amount of beef.
A J — Google review
All meat was like rubber and total embarrassment for foreign guests passing by on the way to airport (thinking its the same as Jabal Amman). Gave it all to one dog, and it also didnt like & gave us a weird look 🤣 Is this a fake branch or bad management/shawerma chiefs?
Nasser S — Google review
The shaweema was pretty dry (This was our second visit). The meat was terrible and practically inedible. It was a sad experience. No condiments whatsoever. Practically no parking. Unlike the 2nd circle location the employees are friendly. Unlike the 2nd circle location credit/debit cards are accepted. Meat quality isn't the same it once was. Other locations should've never opened to keep it unique and much more attention should've been made to improve the deteriorating service and food quality of the original location.
Nae I — Google review
This place is a disaster. I ordered 1kilo of unwrapped shawarma, i ordered it at 9:30 after that there was no calls till 11:30 which means 3 hours of waiting till we called them after when we called them they told me 10mins and i will be there we waited another hour till we called them and when we called them we wanted to cancel the order and the guy told me ok which is showing that he does not even care showing that he did not even place the reserved order showing that he wasted our time waiting 4 hours from 1 kilo of unwrapped shawarma and that this place well not recommended by me. And yes i admit that i am a Jordanian citizen (from the family of haddadin) so i highly dont recommend this place to go personally because if i want to also be honest the food is amazing but the delivery service is the worst delivery you will ever experience.
Sanad H — Google review
I ordered two regular chicken sandwiches and I was honestly very disappointed. The sandwiches were extremely small about the size of my finger and very narrow. They were loaded with too much garlic sauce (mthawame) and barely had any chicken inside I couldn’t even taste the chicken. For the price I expected much better. It’s definitely not worth it compared to other places, and you’d need to order a lot just to feel full.
Omar K — Google review
The sandwich is almost empty. No meat at all . I was disappointed really.
