(Translated by Google) Heavy rain and wind in Ringkøbing meant that 2 pensioners chose to go to Holstebro Museums. The expectation was that it would probably be dry indoors and that we might be able to get a cup of hot morning coffee before we returned to the opening in Ringkøbing, maybe after 55 minutes, but probably no more. Wow, what a surprise. Fantastic exhibition in a building that constantly expanded with light, art and space that just went on and on. We probably reached 40% of the area after 3 hours in a museum that is on par with Louisiana, Aros etc. in terms of architecture. Visit It!!! PS. The cafe was down, so we didn't get our coffee!

Had a great time. All the staff were really friendly and spoke great English so I didn't miss out on any of the experiences. Having the people dressed in period dress and carrying out period activities really brought the museum to life.

Kids found this super. Multiple workshops. Good explanation. There are not that many historic houses ( but we are spoiled and used to bokrijk in belgium 😇) but at almost everyone there is someone explaining old crafts etc. Kids go for Free. Definitely advise a visit here if you're in the neighborhood. Take some picnick or buy some very tasty artisans bread. If you get rain you can shelter in kne of the houses.
Tim L — Google review
A large living open air museum, with lots to see for the whole family. Some minuses where not able to ride the train if you don't have cash or Danish mobile pay and the restaurant didn't sell any food or snacks, just drinks and ice cream. Also some of the houses could do with a bit of love. They are old but there is a difference between old and falling a part. But still the atmosphere and all the houses, animals, objects that are really good (and there's a lot) make it a good visit!
Joakim Ö — Google review
Call place if not a high season. If museum is closed you can enter the park area anyway for jus 40 dkk , but can pay only with mobilpay.

It's quite interesting with living animals. We visited Hjerl Hede on a Saturday, unfortunately there were no handyman to show the old techniques. At the beginning there was a work station for the children to built a little boat.

Strandingsmuseum St. George is a captivating museum that tells the story of the sunken ships St George and Defence through historic artifacts and engaging narratives, blending conventional displays with modern digital technologies. Visitors can interact with the exhibits and enjoy a great lookout from the building's tower. The museum may seem small from outside but offers plenty to explore across its different floors, including an observation tower.
It looks like nothing from the outside but inside it is breathtaking. The story is told with sound, wind, lightning, artifacts picked up from the seabed and much more. Truly a place of history (sad history)told in a amazing way
Michael J — Google review
A great museum. I have read everything and have also heard every audio book that you could hear there. Fascinating to put yourself in this situation from the seafarers from back then. At first glance, the museum doesn't look big. But once you get inside there is so much to discover. In addition, the museum is divided into different floors. That's why it looks so small from outside. Up from the bottom up to the observation tower just amazing. You can do a lot of things there, such as trying on old clothes, etc. A great variety of topics. I could stay there all day. A small negative point was that unfortunately the audio book in the tower was rustling at the end. You could hardly understand anything then. But otherwise a wonderful museum. I could only recommend it to people who are on vacation here, live nearby or just drive by. That's why 5 stars for me.
Timo W — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Tells not only a story of a certain ship, but also of sailors and locals. All in extremely interesting way. A must see!
Jakub K — Google review
A really cool little museum, with expositions available in english, german and danish. A perfect place to visit on the weekend, takes about 1 - 2 hours to see the whole thing. The museum ticket also grants you entrance to the tower, which has an awesome view of the area. Would recommend
Szymon K — Google review
This museum is simply amazing! From the outside looks small but once you step inside is wow. I recommend it, has a history to tell and if you have some patience I recommend you to listen to it.

This museum was one of the best surprises during our Denmark vacation in 2020. It is really nicely done, telling the story of the sunken ships St George and Defence. There are many historic artefacts in the museum, but also the stories behind, both presented in a conventional way and utilising new digital technologies. There are many opportunities for interaction. Also there is a great lookout from the tower of the building and there is a fantastic playground in front of the museum. We can highly recommend this place both for families with children as well as for adults. Five stars!

This is a fine private museum, it is many fine vw stuff and cars but also many fine things from the 60's and 70's. Little cafe where there is coffey and cake. With a visit for young as elder. Especially the camping bus is very fine, and the owner likes to tell stories and very passionatet. No image of the cars you have to see them with your own eyes.

If you love graphic design and vintage or retro styles, and you're on holiday on the West Coast, there's a hidden design gem - the VW & Retro Museum in Ulfborg. It's family-friendly, but it's especially interesting to graphic designers and design students. It's a place where you can find plenty of inspiration and gather many great typographic layouts and font references for your studies and work. Bonus: You can bring your dog, even into their café. You're also welcome to bring a packed lunch to enjoy at the café.
Natasha L — Google review
If you're in the neighborhood, you should visit the museum! It's a really great museum with lots of recognizable items. Besides VW cars and trucks they also have a lot of other "old" things. The museum is run by very friendly owners that are happy to tell all about their collection.
Richard B — Google review
It was really fun to walk around, you could see many things and there were also many cars and motorcycles, beside all of that there were also other retro things like cameras l, cassettes and lp's i really recommend it even though after just an hour you've basically seen everything. Also a small shop where you could buy some things related to the retro museum itself Edit: there was also a small café where you could eat and drink but we skipped that part

At first I was a little shocked at the situation, but my heart opened. I discovered swans, rabbits, squirrels and lots of birds among the many other things. It must have been a really beautiful park that now needs some financial help to get it back in order. Was it worth visiting him? Nestled in the serene countryside, Vedersø Kirke is a charming ashlar church that beautifully showcases its rich history through meticulous restoration. This quaint structure dates back to the Middle Ages, with later additions including a tower, porch, and chapel. Notably, it served as the parish for Kaj Munk, a renowned poet and priest who dedicated two decades of his life here. His poignant legacy is felt throughout the church and extends to his grave located just outside its walls.

Vindkraftværket Tvindkraft stands as a remarkable testament to the pioneering spirit of renewable energy, having been established in 1978. This operational wind turbine not only generates an impressive 1 Megawatt per hour but also serves as a captivating monument to the early days of wind power. Visitors can explore an engaging exhibition at its base that chronicles its history and compares it with other significant global projects.
A very interesting still working monument - the birth place of wind power where a few pioneers built the future against all odds. If there aren’t any guided tours you can ask people working there. Usually they are happy to show you around and occasionally even take you up into the turbine. You can always see the exhibit in the base though.

Hiking area
Tinkerdal Besøgssted is a fantastic outdoor destination for children, young people, and anyone who loves outdoor activities. Many visitors enjoy bringing packed lunches for a day of fun, walks, and games in the area. The site offers beautiful forest hikes where you might even come across the sleeping troll that you can climb on. Additionally, there's a dog forest with exercise facilities nearby and a playground suitable for all ages.
Tinkerdal Besøgssted is yet another amazing Troll, created by Thomas Dambo and his team. As he went for a nap on his shack, he’s more hard to find than others. The location in google maps is wrong, so you have to search harder :). It’s a lot of fun to hunt for these giant wooden Trolls scattered around Denmark (and in other places of the World). Check the list "Trolls in Denmark" on google maps to find the location of the other members of the family ;).

We visited the park for its nice little play park and the kids loved it. We were visiting Denmark and Holstebro to see family, as we live in Edinburgh, Scotland. Great location with access to free parking and a couple of toilets by the play park, which i only found by chance in the yellow building. It would have been nice to have a cafe, but it was clearly not busy enough to warrant having a permanent cafe there, but maybe a small van would be an option during holidays etc!? Tvis Mølle dog park is a beautiful forest with various entrances available for visitors. While the main entrance may be closed to cars, there is a convenient back entrance to access the park. The forest provides ample space for dogs to run freely, although some find it monotonous and dark. Nonetheless, it offers a secluded environment where dogs can enjoy their off-leash time.
