Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Herning

This will be my go-to restaurant when I come back to Herning for work everytime now. Price is reasonable and food is good. Nice ambience outside. I can’t believe I missed this place the past two times I came to Herning. Ordered a plate of spaghetti a gli scampi. The dish just speaks natural and freshness. The prawns were crunchy and cooked to the right consistency. The sauce was natural with the right seasoning. The nice touch was the shrimps among the sauce. Ordered a medium sized coke, and it was huge. So perhaps you could get the lille one if you are not so big of a sodavand drinker. Amazing place. Thanks for offering such fantastisk mad!

Display looks awesome but tastes bad... frozen and rubbery meat. Super salty. Not worth paying for such meal.

I felt like in Italy in this restaurant. Delicious, authentic Italian food... It's a cuisine that doesn't need additives, such as mayonnaise, which I experienced in Italian restaurants in Denmark. The aperol was perfect. I will definitely come back and recommend everyone to visit this place. As a huge fan of Italian cuisine, I am delighted with Marco Polo. Delizioso ❤️❤️❤️

Service was really top class but the food was not good we ordered 2 pasta (penne and tagliatelle) both with chicken insted of other meat but the chicken was not at all good it was smelling bad,they use diced chicken I feel either it was expired or not kept in right temperature. vegetable pizza was average.garlic bread was good but because if bad experience of pasta we didn't feel like eating any food there.Banana split was below average. I am giving 2stars just because of good service otherwise 0 star for the food.

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful building. Great bistro food and amazing winelist. Carpaccio and salmon starters were excellent and main steak was spot on medium, extra points for rich and tangy bearnaise. Creme brulee finished the evening being crisp nd not over sweet 👍Riiigeligt smør!

Delicious!!! I’ve never had a richier, silkier, and smoother Creme Brulé! Meat and asparragus were really tasty. Unfortunately I ordered my meat medium rare, and it was well done. For the prices the charge meat should be perfect. (I know that if I would’ve said something they probably would’ve change it, but I thought this when I was half way on my steak). Really friendly staff.

An amazing dinner in Herring. This is a great restaurant, amazing ambience food and overall experience. The place is a bit expensive may be typical for Denmark, overall a great experience. The presentation of the food and taste was extremely nice.

Really delicious meal. I got the Herrebøf with chips and bearnaise, and creme brule for dessert. Lots of people in the restaurant, but that is to be expected Friday night. But it was a good atmosphere, not too loud. The service was well trained and professional. I'm definitely coming back.

Probably the most charming dining room in Herning. Menu and cooking was more like a 3.5 star as our steaks came medium fineness instead of the medium rare that we asked for. The menu is also quite small and simple but familiar and other dishes didn’t disappoint. The fries are really really good!

We came in the hopes to get a nice (and maybe) different meal, we know the owners by name from television and they always does things a bit different. Unfortunately this has not so much the case. The food was okay'ish but at that price point you would expect more. But what was really a disappointment was the service that night, we ordered some wine, which was left on the table after tasting it, we said that we would like to see the menu again later for dessert (did not happen, had to ask for it again after waiting for 20 min after the main course) when they came to take our dessert orders the waitress seemed mad like it was a hassle for her to take our order. So all in all a bit of an off experience that I wouldn't recommend others unfortunately 😕

I went today to buy sushi from here from billund. Billund already has a good sushi place. As I went to Herning therefore I went to buy from this sushi place. But surprisingly the lady of the counter was very unfriendly and behaved so rude. May be the sushi tastes good as I didn't taste till now but if the place doesn't know customercare then that place is no good for the customers.

The food is very so so especially when you think about the price. Highest price for sushi in town therefore we expect a lot about the food quality . We also have a 2 years old with us where she was charged for 119kr. Fair enough but I would rather go to other places in town where she is charged lower than this. The staff is very nice and friendly though. The service is good as restaurant’s standard.

I had Tagli Popette (I think that’s the name), and it was actually quite good. The pasta was freshly made there, which made a real difference, and the meatballs were flavorful and well-cooked. I also had a soda (Fanta) with the meal. For dessert, I had Tiramisu. It was on the cheesy side. I don’t usually enjoy it when Tiramisu has a strong coffee flavor, but this one had just the right hint of coffee, which I actually liked. Tagli.Poppete + Tiramisu + Big Soda (Fanta) = 349 DKK Overall, I’d say I really enjoyed it!

Third time to this restaurant and food is marvellous as always. Could be a wee bit faster in serving but you can’t complain when the food comes out good. Keep up the good work!

Hello, we ate seafood risotto and meat mushroom pasta. Unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. We chose two wines from the menu, both were not good. I expected better wines in a restaurant like this. The atmosphere is nice and the employees are concerned. Thank you.

GOOD FOOD I dropped by for lunch MAR 2025. The restaurant have a nice selection of food and beverages. The food focuses on Danish specialties. I picked the “Sildetallerken”, which is three kind of herring. The food was real tasty and interesting. I think the service staff is professional but unnecessarily reserved - maybe even slightly arrogant. Maybe because they consider this an “upscale” restaurant and that it requires “special service”? But anyway - the food is great - and definitely worth a visit if in town.

House wine won't win any prices but its not bad. The tables are cosy, but only on the old side. The prices are not cheap, but also not expensive. EXCELLENT FOOD and SERVICE I dropped by for a light dinner one early evening in MAR 2025. The restaurant had customers at 4 other tables so they were able to seat me immediately. The server quickly served some cold tap water (Yes - drinkable and tasting real good in Denmark). They have a nice and mouthwatering menu (Small - not that it matters) - the same with the wine menu. Some real nice choices for wine - also per glass. I ended up with the “Karl Johan soup” and a glass of 2016 Gewurtztraminer from Trimbach, Alsace, France. The server was real professional and polite - and informative. Shared a lot of information on food and wine. Nice. My soup was excellent - and so was the wine - and they ended up being well suited to each other. The decor in the restaurant is modern minimalistic - only slight minus is that the lamps over the tables are very bright. Could be nice if the bulbs were changed to some of a more warm light. Overall a real nice experience. Definitely a place to visit when in Herning.

Cozy, Incredibly delicious menu and the wine selection is SO clever! And If you dare, challenge the owner Mr. Dogan to a game of Backgammon. Word of advice though, he's a former World Champion.

Followed this restaurant on FB for a long time, felt like a nice family American restaurant, with big portions and calories bomb. The food were great, but I felt like I miss the family feeling I got from their FB posts. Love their events, but will come more often if they can make the events on weekends. For us that live a bit further from Herning, it's a stretch to drive to Herning on a weekday. Oh, price were very reasonable too, so will definitely come again.

Amazing atmosphere and great service. The meat was extremely tender and had a great beefy taste, but the food generally lacked seasoning, the salt and pepper on the table was quite necessary. The dessert was nice and tasty with the center of the cake hot and runny, the ice was creamy and with real bourbon vanilla. Would definitely come back.

This is probably one of the best Steak houses here in Denmark... 30/10 would definitely recommend this one ... The staff is Superb and professional the food is SO good and tasty 😋

We were 6 people eating there yesterday, everyone had food poisoning within 2 hours later. If you want to pay to get food poisoning have at it. There wasnt't any issues with the taste, service or establishment but considering that within 2 hours after eating the steak one after the other fell victim to food poisoning. We had a horrible night, and even worse flight back the next day. I would strongly advice people to stay away from this establishment based on my experience. The incident has been reported to the DVFA so hopefully the establishment can improve their quality control in the future so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

GOOD COFFEE I dropped by here MAR 2025 for a cup of coffee with my grownup daughter. As we entered the cafe no one did or said anything. So we approached the person behind the service bar. But before we got a chance to say anything another waitress approached us and asked what we wanted. We asked for a table for a cup of coffee. She politely told us to be out by an hour because of a large group booking - which was fine. She seated us and gave us menues. After a while we were still ready to order and nothing happened. So I walked to the service bar and ordered - and I guess that is how you do it here…. So why not tell us when seating us?? Anyway, the “bartender” was nice and professional and made us some good coffee that was brought to the table. So a bit of a strange experience - maybe management should shape up on procedures on receiving people - a little sign stating to seat yourself and order at the bar could do it. We did not try their food options - but they did have a nice menu. The cafe itself is quite cozy with a relaxing atmosphere.

We decided to have nice dinner with my family but basically all family just got sick with terrible diarrhea from food. My husband got burned chips that as I work in hospitality many years and if I would see that any of my waitresses would even consider it to be fit for customer honestly tray would learn how to fly... my son been vomiting all the way home, beef mince in burrito was god knows how old and was soggy and soaked in grease. Could owners do something about it? Or we should inform food inspection????

Fast food restaurant disguised as a normal steak restaurant. Trying to lure you in with fake offers. They try all the usual tricks. Felt cheated and somewhat dirty when we left.

i was just wanted to come and eat with my family and they was saying to leave the stroller outside of the restaurant and my baby still can’t sit , so they let me feel really bad by not letting to eat in the restaurant because the rules is like that. and the lady’s was supper not nice by talking with.

I think this is the best place to eat around there. Great service, very kid-friendly, which is, of course, not surprising. Pizzas were good (and they can omit or add ingredients to make fussy kids happy), I also tried the veggie bowl one time, it tasted good, also stjerneskud was fine and quite a large portion. Did not go for the buffet, though it potentially could be an option for hungry kids (they have basic pizzas, pasta, fiskefrikadeller, some salads etc). They also have spareribs.

Fast delivery, terrible food. Ordered 2 burgers and 1 spareribs, they got delivered after 25 minutes at my hotel. The burgerbread was burnt, as well as the burger itself... same thing about the spareribs... I have never been to a restaurant that would have served the products that i got. This should have been trown away and started over again.

We visited 16th February at 18:30. Selected our non alcoholic menu shortly afterwards. Our Foundation menu started rolling in and we finished around 21:50. Subjective Observations: Good explanation of each course and drink Food and plating was not visually exciting in the sense of color Plating was average with food always centered Around 19:15 onward the kitchen cooking smell had traveled to the dining area and this conflicted with all the green decorations inside the restaurant. Not a pleasant experience. Pork neck was imported from Spain which did not make sense for me as Denmark is world famous for Pork. Black current dessert shaped like dog pawn over snow had a clashing taste of sweet + mint + salt + Sichuan (spicy) pepper flakes. This was combined with ginger/cucumber beverage. Mint is a very daring move as some may not like the taste but the combination was the worst. I would give this desert 0 points together with the drink. Not recommend.

Spent the most perfect evening here in their beautiful building. Absolutely unforgetable experience with wonderful dishes and next-level service and attention to detail from the entire staff.

We had an amazing dining experience here. The fish and dishes were fresh, appetising and finger-licking. We ended up being incredibly full! I really enjoyed the dessert as well, mochi with ice cream... yum the waiters were charming and polite. We will definitely get back there!

Very nice all you can eat steakhouse in Denmark Jutland, served by waiters who is Indonesian descent, has most various choice of meat, from lamb to kanggaroo, love the fresh potato chips and steamed small potato as well as sauted mushroom.

Visited to celebrate the 60th anniversary of my in laws, and had expected the usual good service. But they really went the extra mile! The table was laid as usual but rose petals adorned the entire table and and roses were laid at the places where my in laws sat. And in this time with corona restrictions they made sure to keep us in a private space where children could play and adults could feel at ease. Well done!

Friendly staff & good pricing for kids buffet during summer period. I have taken 2 stars because: a) yes they have approx 15 different cuts of meat, but when there are no labels/descriptions, every single customer needs to ask what each meat is before choosing - which means a long wait time if there is a queue! b) 57kr /7.50 euros for a sparkling water is ridiculous!

Dry Fries -> no one ate those as there were left over on all the plates on the table. Also very fatty food that made me run to the restroom soon after eating. Very unusual bad service compared to what I have experienced in Herning in any other location. Somehow a cold train station like ambience.

Have been there a couple of times both at the buffet and the running sushi both of which are great and fairly priced. I would recommend the running Sushi and if you don't bring kids remember to try to be seat not to close to the play room. There will be a lot of noise from that room. The Running sushi as well as the Chinese buffet had a great variety, it was however quite stale and bland. There is ice cream included which was nice. All in all for the price I can't complain too much and will probably come back again

Hit or miss depending on who's working at the time. First time we visited we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the experience. Ordered a burger and stjerneskud, both pretty good. Arrived quickly (~15 min) and nice staff. Based on this, we brought some friends there, but the experience was much different. After waiting 45 minutes after ordering (sorry, "definitely only 30 minutes, I checked the receipt") and seeing the table behind us receive their food, finish it and leave, as well as the other table arriving after us, and getting their food before us, we decided to ask. We had ordered nachos, soup and a burger. An employee was quick to say they're working on it, and later approached the table to scold us. We were told "it's definitely only been half an hour, I checked (repeated 3 times), and you ordered a burger, so that takes a long time". We were not angry at the wait, we simply wanted to know what the situation was. The food arrived around 15 minutes later, and it was fine. Twice stayed in Herning but whenever I walked past Napoli, can’t seem to catch them at the right time. This time managed to sit down at the restaurant for a good aftensmad. Summer is good time to be sitting outside so take the opportunity. Pizza Margherita was good though I was expecting to see basil leaves as toppings and the white mozerella patches like those I have seen before. But enjoyed the pizza! Also ordered a spaghetti bolognese - Just a lille feedback, perhaps to cut down on the decorations on the dish, just leave the necessity on 😊 But the minced beef in the sauce tastes very god! Overall reasonable restaurant for a good meal. No frills and food were served fast. Coffee efter mad was good too!

My starter dish, king prawns were fantastically flavoured, it was truly something worth coming for. The bread it came with came acted as a wonderful treat in between every prawn. However, the main dish (Spaghetti Bolognese) was a major disappointment. The pasta itself was not restaurant quality in my opinion and the sauce just didn't have that multitude of taste that one looks for, this was the same case for the Farfalle al Salmone that my girlfriend ordered. My spaghetti was not tossed with the sauce prior to serving. Atmosphere was magical, almost like a portal to a place elsewhere once you walked in through the front door. This unfortunately may have magnified our disappointment once the food came, considering our high expectations. If there is a next time, we will definitely try something other than pasta from their surprisingly extensive menu.

Clean and modern Vietnamese restaurant in the city center. All the classic dishes of the Vietnam cuisine are on the menu: pho, Bahn mi, bun, summer rolls and stir fried noodles. All dishes except for the pho soup can be made vegetarian (with tofu instead of meat). The homemade lemonade is very minty and fresh, tasty even in winter time. The vegetarian bun that I had was decent but not very flavorful (the sauce that came with it was not super). Overall a good healthy choice, not too expensive and in a nice, Luminous and clean space.

Definitely recommend going to this nice Vietnamese restaurant. Delicious summer rolls with marinated chicken and spring rolls with pork, one of the best I’ve had in a while. I also got Pho soup, which was amazing. I was surprised that they serve it with both normal beef and meat balls, but in a good way. I get pho bo soup almost every week so it was a nice twist to this meal. The staff is very kind and the place is cozy, clean and comfortable.

What drags it down to a solid 3 out of 5 stars is the state of the bathrooms. The lighting is very mellow and not well lit. VALUE We saw other guests order their rice stir fried dishes and they seemed like what we should have ordered. Pricing wise it was a bit expensive compared to what we experienced.

Overall a great experience. There's both an open room and small booths for a bit more privacy. Service was simple, pleasant and quick. Atmosphere is a bit more on darker lighting which I personally prefer. Would love to see some Bánh mì on the menu at some point.

This hotel is outdated and lacking any character. You are lucky if you can find any staff as it seems deserted most of the time. Breakfast is really basic and there are little other facilities to keep you interested during your stay. Bedrooms are very basic in design with old tired looking furnishings, road noise coming through window was too great for regular sleeping and bathroom is dark and dingy looking.

Attended a social event. Great location and helpful staff. Plenty of food overall (2 servings), but would have appreciated more than 2 minuscule (albeit excellent) caramelized potatoes in each of the serving. Would recommend.

One of those few places where you can experience how this country could have looked like if it was not completely destroyed by extensive agriculture and industry.. Watch out for the wonderful pristine forest and river where salmon once was spawning and due to some river regulation it seams like it is coming back... the wonder will last for about max 15min walking and then you will be back to the reality of endless fields 😐

Nice staff, fantastic place and the mature around the conference center are for a 5 star rating. The food aren't bad, but the meat is tasteless and boring, despite it's tendernes. I like the idea of an organic kitchen, but I like quality as well.

Placed in wonderfully scenic surroundings, Skarrildhus is a lovely little pearl of traditional accomodantion mixed with a well-tasteing, modern, and ecological menu. Our double room had a comfortable bed, a one-person shower and a pleasant view. Would recomend.

Super nice staff! We arrived early as walk-ins and were lucky to get a table. When I asked about allergies, they handed me an iPad with all the information, so I could browse the menu and check the allergy list to see what was safe for me. The food was delicious! Ok so they forgot my wife's dish, they put my steak with her fries and gave me a hot potato by itself. After waiting for hers to come I take a bite from my steak and taste there is no garlic butter. We wait again. Then it comes and of course because my steak has been sitting so long it's now luke-warm and the butter just sits on top. After all this I disappear to take my little one to the toilet to find out that they have told my wife we need to leave in 10mins, they need the table. We just started dessert! No chance for a coffee or even chat. Absolutely disgraceful for the price. The only reason this is 2 stars is because of Ranja one of the waitresses, she offered to get me a new steak. I declined trying to save the atmosphere. I should of taken a bite first as it was cold and I would of said yes.

Loved the burgers, onion rings and garlic bread. My son liked the mac and cheese very much. The free French fries are a cool option for kids as they never get tired of them.

The location is pretty central. The staff were courteous. I booked a table for 3 and was well received by the staff. The menu was really impressive with a good variety of choices. I really liked the choices in tandoori starters and also the non-veg main dishes. The prices were reasonable but the portions were not really generous. Coming to the food taste and quality, i must say I was very impressed with the food quality. It really tasted excellent, well cooked and tender juicy kebabs really made my evening wonderful. The Naan's were wonderful. I remember visiting a restaurant in Aarhus, which served the readymade Naan in the menu. So horrible. But in Namaste Herning, i was really satisfied with the quality and taste of the food. It really tasted authentic with original Indian spices. Thanks guys for matthe evening so wonderful.

We went today, on a very rainy day, being almost the only costumers. We are both vegetarians so this was the perfect option! The cooking was amazing, the service even better (smiles, jokes and kindness all the time we were there, making us feel very special). They were also super fast. I strongly reccomand it :)

I am very passionate about Indian/desi food and I always try to find food which reminds me of home. I can say that it was a very pleasant surprise to eat at this place. The food was delicious, well cooked and the portions were generous. I was eating with a friend who is not used to eating Indian food and he agreed that the food was really palatable and just as spicy as requested..The butter chicken was so delicious that we had to order more naan to finish it. Last but not least, a big praise for the waitress for the excellent service, and for her kindness and energy. After eating, I also had the chance to have a lovely talk with chef. Today’s experience will definitely have me coming back.

I got a piece of meat that half of it was just fat that couldn't be eaten. The rosé wine was tasting liks it has been opened for a while and had a very bad taste for an Italian rose wine. The bread that we got for starters was dry and old as well, very hard to chew. We waited a lot for our food to come,and there were not that many in the restaurant. The waiters forgot to bring the order 2 times to some of the people from our table. Unfortunately I would not recommend it.

I wanted to eat indian foot and found this place while staying at Herning. I did order chicken pakora (8 pieces) as starter, which came with three different It did taste good but it was hard to eat, it was like the flour was too much since it was like earing fried bread, my teeth did hurt thats why one less star. And i did order butter chicken as main course, where you get rice with it. It did taste great but the rice did came in a glass bowl. So little food waste trying. One less star on service since you dont get any tap watter with the food.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Jutland. Consistently good food every time we have visited. Friendly staff and great ambience. Very easy to locate and parking is also easily available. The Indo-Chinese items are a must try and the tandoori mix is also highly recommended.

We arrived late to the city and were looking for something to eat. Helpful staff took us in little after their kitchen had already closed and gave us delicious real Indian cuisine experience. I stayed in Herning for two weeks, and this place quickly became my go-to spot for dinner. I especially enjoyed their all kinda biryani and fried rice. Plus, you can customize the spice level to your preference. However, I wasn't a fan of the thali plate or the samosa chaat. I truly believe they serve some of the best biryani in Denmark.

The hotel is really nice and the hotel has a very delicious breakfast 😋 Just a few suggestions : 1. The hotel rooms should be warm more warm during winter. 2. How is this place so expensive? Burgers are great but they're nothing special, there are way better value options for burgers around the main city. I did have a good time, but it was not worth the money and I will not be coming back here again. Definetly 5 out of 5 stars!!! If your into burgers you should eat here! Big portions, kind Staff and very delicious meat! My dish is the Pablo burger with cheese balls bacon and red onions. Perfect balanced burger and huge. Onthe side a bucket of fries with cheese molten over it and the grillen mayo. Not the cheapest but you really get what you pay!!!
