Tour operator
Palmers Brewery, established in 1794, is a renowned brewery located in Bridport. The brewery offers guided tours that provide an in-depth look at the brewing process and culminate with beer tastings. Visitors can explore the historic thatched brewery and gain insights into the centuries-old techniques used to craft their award-winning ales. The tours, led by experienced guides, offer an engaging experience for ale enthusiasts as they learn about each stage of the brewing process.
Colin gave us an amazing tour of the brewery. He told us all about the history of Palmer's and how they used to make ales compared to how they do now. He also gave lots of free samples at the end which was very much enjoyed. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in history or the brewing process.

What a great afternoon! The guide is one of a small team that's involved in the brewing process, he was very informative. It was nice to see how beer was made way back when, and how subtle changes have been made for today's market. The tour also included the local history, of the family owned brewery and how it interacted with Bridport. The tasting session, after the tour, gave an opportunity to taste all the beers and purchase samples from the factory shop. I would thoroughly recommend.
Christopher B — Google review
My wife and I were holidaying in the area and noticed that Palmers do tours. A rainy day so we decided to book, easily done online. The 2pm tour was booked. There were 6 in our group and our tour guide was Andy. A fascinating insight into the brewing of their beer, brewing, the ingredients, and a little history of the, brewery, and the town of Bridport was given by our guide. The tour is in a working brewery so care is taken where necessary with high viz vests given out to you. The tour has some steep steps to negotiate so make sure that you are agile enough. The tour lasted approximately 2 hours. You finish the tour in the wine store where you are given free samples of their ales and ciders. The shop is well stocked if you should wish to take home some of their excellent products or wine, spirits etc. A great way to spend a rainy day, or a sunny day for that matter.

Did the tour with my mum last week on Thurs 11th. We've been visiting Bridport for years as a family, but had never been to Palmers. Had wanted to do it since last year, and I think the rain this year helped us go ahead and book! So glad we did. So interesting and eye opening about the whole process. Our guide Dave was absolutely brill and his knowledge about Palmers and the brewing process was faultless. So lovely to learn more about the history of our beloved Bridport :)
Nicks H — Google review
Visiting Bridport with our family for the week and had to try the brewery tour. Graeme our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was fascinating and a wonderful use of an afternoon. Trying all the beers at the end was of course the best bit. We will definitely be going to the Palmers pubs in the area whilst we're here.
Zoe E — Google review
The Palmers Brewery Tour was excellent - as it provided a unique opportunity to see a real life working brewery situated within a characterful Grade I listed building. Our friendly tour guide demonstrated an exceptionally high level of knowledge of the brewing process. We enjoyed sampling the full range of Palmers beers at the end of the tour! Highly recommended.
Rob — Google review
There were 4 of us celebrating 60th's and what a great 2 hours it was! David, our guide was very knowledgeable and to see the process from start to finish - well I have the utmost respect for beer making! I have been on other tours, and I have to say this was the most informative. The tasting session at the end was very generous and we had a wonderful cycle home.
Tina C — Google review
What a great tour. Ian Scott was great very friendly and so informative. Then to top off such a great tour you get to taste all the beer's, just a sip for me as I was driving, but that was ok as I got to buy my favourite to go in my new glass. The price is amazing too

It is such a lovely little place. They always have a children's activity table at half term and there is a microscope and erosion activity that is always enjoyed by the children. The staff are lovely and warm too.
Nicola A — Google review
Amazing small museum with some creative use of historical and factual information on the local area. Our 4 year old never wanted to leave and was fully entertained for nearly 60 minutes. Is a single room of an old Chappel. A little gem in West Bay and a must visit.
Stuart C — Google review
Definitely worth coming into. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pop up Exhibition ‘West Bay in the War’ Bridport and West Bay like all towns was hugely affected by the impact of the Second World War, both from a civilian and military perspective. In this exhibition we aim to highlight some events that took place here which played an important role in achieving eventual peace in Europe in 1945.

A great place to visit, interesting history and development of West Bay it's easy to spend an hour there whether it's sunny or raining. Good refreshments 50 metres away.

History Museums
Located on South Street, Bridport Museum has recently reopened after a significant renovation. The museum offers an in-depth look at the history of Bridport, with a particular focus on the local rope- and net-making industry that has greatly influenced the town's architecture and streets. Visitors can explore various exhibits including costumes, coins, medals, photos, fossils, art collections, and displays showcasing natural history and archaeology.
Fantastic museum, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Price was very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if you have time.
Malcolm P — Google review
Great local history museum. Small, but densely packed with interesting and interactive exhibits on the agricultural, industrial and geological history of Bridport and its surroundings. Volunteers were wonderful too.
Greg S — Google review
Staff were very enthusiastic and demonstrated how to make rope that was very interesting. We even got to keep it! Kids enjoyed the children's activities. Small museum so doesn't take long to go round but well worth a visit.
Bex P — Google review
Well presented history of Bridport. Worth a visit to engage in the rope making demonstration. Many exhibits to see.
Mark A — Google review
Lovely and quaint museum, learn how to make rope
Jason R — Google review
Super cute little museum, with an eclectic mix of local bits and bobs. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and very happy to explain things to excitable children (although there aren't many things children can touch and interact with, so very small ones may get bored). There's some fascinating displays on the local history of rope and net making and how Bridport contributed to the war effort in that respect, as well as bits on the local railways, and local hostorical figure Dr Roberts' "Poor Man's Friend" cure-all. Entry was cheap (a fiver per adult and free for children under 18, with the ticket allowing multiple entries over a year - I think- if desired). It's a small space, about the size of a house, so only takes an hour or so to have a really good look round. Ideal to hop out of the rain or heat for a little while without spending loads of money, while learning a little about the town.
Victoria P — Google review
Really cannot fault this place. Not only was the subject matter fascinating, but the volunteers made it come alive, they're a credit to the museum. Spent a good hour in here, loved the art exhibition and I made my.own rope!
Sherie H — Google review
Excellent museum with helpful and knowledgeable staff. They have rope making sessions where you can have a go at making short lengths of rope.

We went to the Private View of the Marshwood Arts Awards, which I had entered but not been selected for this year. The venue was very crowded and hot, so we didn't stay long. I was there to look at the competition and much of the work in my category was decidedly weird. I loved the metal head tho. Pic below.

I love Bridport Arts Centre as a performance venue, a place for community run projects and as an exhibition space. I am sad that we no longer have a decent cafe and courtyard garden.

Lovely exhibition titled, What is Beautiful held by Bridport Arts Centre at the Allsop gallery in Bridport which ran up to the 30th September 2023. Based around each individual's interpretation of What is beautiful. Great for the community to get involved with various workshops and a great way for people to experience the visual arts in various different forms. The venue was free to enter, light and airy and I very much enjoyed my visit.

Nestled in the heart of Bridport, the Bridport Electric Palace is a charming Art Deco cinema that transports you back to the 1920s with its stunning original features. This beloved venue not only screens classic films but also hosts an array of live performances, including music concerts, stand-up comedy, and theatrical productions. The plush red velvet seats and vibrant murals create a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying a night out.
I visited as part of the Purbeck Film Festival.. The film was excellent but I was blown away by the decor here. It has to be seen to be fully appreciated . The coffee/wine bar attached was also friendly and welcoming.

One of my favourite music venues. I’ve seen plenty of bands play here and always enjoyed the experience. Good sound & views from the majority of positions provided you not behind an obviously taller person! Last night was Turin Brakes & it was fantastic from beginning to end 👍

Golf club
For couples seeking a bit of friendly competition during their romantic getaway, Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club is the perfect destination. Nestled atop East Cliff, this historic golf club boasts an 18-hole course that offers stunning vistas of the Jurassic Coast and features a thrilling hole with a dramatic 27-meter drop. Established in 1891, it proudly holds the title of Dorset's oldest golf club and has modern amenities to cater to today's golfers.
A Golfer’s Paradise! This golf club is truly top-tier! The greens are absolutely spotless—immaculately maintained and a joy to play on. Add to that the stunning views that surround the course, and it’s a dream setting for any golfer. Every hole offers a perfect blend of challenge and beauty. The peaceful atmosphere and attention to detail make this place unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back!
Oksana — Google review
Beautiful course, in great condition and very reasonably priced when playing with a member. Friendly staff in the pro shop and restaurant. Recent rain has greened it up a lot and the course is well maintained. Some cracking views of the Jurassic coast, not an easy course if the wind is blowing, which it often is.
D. M — Google review
Played it in early Oct., course was brilliant, ocean view on several of the holes, rolling hills, sheep & livestock in the backdrop. Course didn't really look that hard, but with the wind it sure did play that way. Lots of deep rough to avoid, a few stone walls to avoid, greens were in good condition. Will definitely want to play again when back over next year. Worth the trip.
Kirk M — Google review
Warm welcome, fab breakfast and service (we’ll forget the coffee spillage lol). Great course in excellent condition, tight fairways with some challenging par 3s, the signature 8th is great! Greens ran well and are all challenging in various degrees. And what about the views. A gem of a course, for £30… bargain! Will return!
Dave E — Google review
A real gem of a golf course. Played a society day with some of the members here at Bridport and west Dorset golf club, and I must say what a lovely lovely club. Members were so welcoming and friendly, the bar staff were great too. The course itself played very well, greens were fantastic, a very picturesque course with a mixture of challenging holes, obviously links style with some blind shots and tricky slopes just off the green, but forgiving enough that wayward tee shots have a chance of being found! My highlight was shooting a birdie 3 on the stroke index 1 15th, then bombing a drive on 16th, 4 of the best series of shots I hit all summer, followed by 4 of the worst strokes I’ve hit for a while to blob the 16th hole😅 The meal afterwards was amazing too. Compliments to the chef and his team! Thanks again for Alan and Kevin for showing me the way on the day:) absolute gentlemen.
Ray Y — Google review
Nice course, greens in great condition, (unlike my swing!) Was hosted by the seniors section and was given a very warm welcome. A wonderful day !
Simon S — Google review
Absolutely superb roast carvery, meat was cooked to perfection, sides were so flavoursome, the host Sally was attentive and friendly and the carver Robin was organised and knew how to slice 😁, definitely recommend...very fair pricing as well ♥️
Chris P — Google review
Played three rounds here this week and enjoyed them immensely (despite being held up by 2x4 ball groups during my first round). The views from the cliff top section of the course are absolutely stunning (16th tee was overlooking where I stayed). The stunning par 3 6th hole was a joy to play and was visually perfect. Although the course was in great condition I’ve only given it 4* due to the greens being recently scarified (time of year, not a criticism) so they weren’t running true. A big thanks to the warm welcome I received from the pro shop staff, the clubhouse staff and some of the members I came across on the course. I look forward returning to BWGC in the near future, again a big thanks to all.

If you're on the hunt for a culinary adventure in Bridport, Dorshi is an absolute must-visit. This charming eatery specializes in street-food-inspired dishes that are sure to excite your palate. Picture yourself savoring delicious dumplings and flavorful noodles, all while enjoying a perfectly crafted cocktail or your favorite drink from their well-stocked bar. Nestled away down a quaint alley, Dorshi offers not just food but an experience that transports you to the vibrant streets of Asia.
Ate here last night with my two best mates. I was blown away by the quality of the food. Between us we tried quite a few of the dishes. The dumplings, scallops and pork belly were incredible - unique flavours and perfectly cooked. Had a really nice draught lager to wash it down. Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Nice decor too. Decent prices. Would love to eat here again.
Matthew A — Google review
The star dishes here are the dumplings which everyone says are fantastic. Listening to fellow diners around the room the mumours are “…and you must get the dumplings they are fabulous!” Ordered three platefuls, two lots of steamed dumplings “Organic pork, leek, and ginger” “Organic curried lamb, curry leaf and cayenne” And one lot of fried dumplings the “Free range chicken, lime and 4-pepper with Japanese style mayo” The chicken ones were my favourite and I say outstanding without a pause and using the word correctly and without hesitation A bowl of perfectly made Hakata Noodles in a House Broth was made to look simple when the art of preparing such a simple dish is lost on many The roasted pork belly with pickled mustard seeds was unctuous, rich and fatty in all the right ways The fried chicken Kara-age with lemon pepper butter dressings shone brightly on the table and was another excellent example of making good food properly Overall a clear 10 out of 10
Marcus D — Google review
Came here during our bank holiday weekend escape from London, and what a gem it turned out to be. It’s tucked away in a little alleyway but easy to find. We were seated in the downstairs bar area which has a mix of high and low seating, with just the right balance of cozy and charming. I didn’t catch our waiter’s name but I believe he’s one of the managers. His service was impeccable from start to finish. We loved all the food but the charred pork belly is a must try. You can truly taste how much love goes into every dish. We got to have a chat with the chef, Brendan. His warmth and passion for his craft shone through, making us feel incredibly welcome. The folks at Dorshi genuinely care about and love what they do, and that made for an amazing experience. Can’t wait to come back!
Victoria A — Google review
My husband and I sat in the bar area last week. Got a lush view of the kitchen, folk coming through the door and the whole vibe was perfect. I've had dumplings once in my life before, never really reach for them but they were fab. The pork belly dish with the jus, CRAZY good. Wish I could have eaten more. This kind of place is not to be missed!
Vicki B — Google review
What a fabulous meal! Decided to pick up a take away from Dorshi and did not regret it: quick, charming service and the most incredible, beautiful, unusual food. Thanks and appreciation to everyone involved, keep doing what you're doing!
L B — Google review
My partner and I recently visited Dorshi whilst on holiday and with an evening to ourselves. This charming little place is truly a gem and I can honestly not think of anything at all during our dining experience that was not outstanding. The food was utterly glorious, as were the drinks. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink they are selling. It was one of the most enjoyable eating experiences I think I’ve ever had, I wouldn’t have a second thought about going again if I happen to find myself anywhere within an hour’s drive, and I would heartily recommend anyone looking for great food in the Bridport area to try them out. Absolutely fantastic.

Whether you opt for the exhilarating West Bay Blast or a more leisurely cruise to Lyme Regis, you'll be treated to stunning coastal views and expert guidance from friendly staff. Families will appreciate how accommodating the crew is, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable while exploring this beautiful region.
Thanks to the team at Lyme Bay RIB charter for an incredible trip along to Lyme Regis. With all three boats out filming for their socials yesterday, it was a fun and thrilling trip. Living close to West Bay, this was something I have wanted to do for a long time but never quite got round to! I would recommend it for both locals and tourists as an amazing way to see our beautiful Jurassic coastline.
Elizabeth J — Google review
In all the years we've been to West Bay we'd never done the Lyme Bay RIB, so we finally did this year and wasn't disappointed! One adult and two children cost £65 for the coastal cruise down to Seatown and back up to West Bay. Staff were thoughtful and conscientious of children, picking the best boat for them depending on clients, and seating them where they'd be most comfortable. Skipper Tom was brilliant, stopping and pointing out local areas and sights as we went along. We will definitely be having another go in the future... Maybe brave it up for the 15 minute Blast! Staff also upfront and honest about sea conditions - if they can't take you out they'll refund you or book you on another day. Top crew!
Dawn R — Google review
Best day of this year! I liked that we went over the other boat wake. I liked it because we went super fast and it was super fun. Milo was the best Captain. Would love to do it again. From Seb. Aged 8. (Best of Both Trip)

What a wonderful Father’s Day gift from my two teenage sons and wife! Exhilarating, but before a lovely cruise to see the coastline from the sea. Great people great fun and worth every minute. Hold on and have fun!

Would highly recommend this boat trip. We did the ‘best of both’ which includes high speed boat fun and some gentle bits to take in the scenery. Skipper was friendly and welcoming.
Sarah B — Google review
Fantastic fun for all the family! Whether you’re local or on holiday, you have to go on a rib ride! There are lots of different options ranging from scenic, more chilled rides to fast thrill seeking rides. The Jurassic Coast has to be seen from the water… it’s breathtaking. The team at Lyme Bay Rib Charter are absolute professionals and safety is paramount. We look forward to our next rib ride!
Amy H — Google review
Having looked online and seen the options, I figured that our party of 12 would appreciate a "best of both" experience starting from West Bay, near Bridport, and ending at Lyme Regis. As this particular dish was not on the Lyme Bay RIB Charter menu, I picked up the phone and spoke with LBRC's very polite, knowledgeable and helpful Zoe. We agreed on an à la carte package that would combine sightseeing with the fast, furious and frantic! And we certainly got our money's worth... Our skipper, Milo, first took us East down the coast on a relatively sedate jaunt to Bridport, where he turned off the engines and stopped the RIB a few hundred yards out from the beach. Very scenic, very enjoyable. After a couple of minutes, though, it was time to fire up the engines, open the throttles and light up the afterburners as 700hp propelled us West towards Lyme Regis at SPEED, lifting up and crashing down as the RIB ploughed across the choppy late-October waters. After some time, we slowed down to catch our breaths, and I swapped my row four (out of six) seat for one at the FRONT. Then it was back up to SPEED. Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW! Our exhilarating 45 minute experience came to an end as we slowly navigated into the harbour at Lyme Regis - 12 smiling faces and 12 great memories. Would we do it all again? NOT HALF! Tried to add a photo, but I failed.

We had such a great trip on the RIB. Everyone was professional and we had safety advice prior to going out. My partner was a bit unsure on the trip, waving to the skipper behind us bought the RIB to a complete stop instantly, my partner was then seated at the back of the boat where she felt alot better. The seating allows you to experience different levels of the ride. I sat at the front and loved it. Would go again for sure loved every minute of it.

Bridport Vintage Market is a vibrant and colorful shopping paradise that reflects the spirit of the community. It offers a wide range of products, from fresh local produce to vintage clothing, homemade treats, and unique crafts. The market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to midafternoon, with street stalls selling everything from doorknobs and jewelry to toy cars and retro prints.
I love this market as it has such a relaxing atmosphere. There is usually good quality live entertainment and the red brick Cafe is amazing. The produce on the stalls is always very interesting and the prices are good too.

A great place to explore and find all sorts of goodies, from all aspects of vintage collecting and larger items! Can be a maze, but that's part of it's charm and fun.

More than last there was last September when we came. Bit more like a jumble sale than a market. But some good things to be had
Sam L — Google review
Went into Bridport this morning to see the market as advertised. What a disappointment. Bread stall, fruit stall and a couple of stalls with some old wooden stuff on. Sincere thanks to the couple of stalls that did turn out (picked up some nice fruit and salad) but where the hell where all the other stalls??? If you are going to be part of a market, the very least you could do is turn up!

The gallery hosts selling exhibitions by contemporary British artists and craftspeople, offering consistently high-quality pieces. Additionally, the venue features Cafe Sladers in its flower-filled courtyard, providing delicious food and great coffee.
Small caffee alongside a small art gallery. Beautifully decorated, with lots of beautiful art pieces. Most importantly, the food was delicious and coffee was great. The team was great and we could even spend sometime chatting in Spanish with a lovely lady (Stacey), she was looovely and made is feel super welcome. A beautiful spot in West Bay and one I will definitely come back in the future. Thank you for such an amazing experience.

K Yuen is a delightful gem nestled in an unspoiled hamlet, surrounded by charming thatched cottages and breathtaking coastal views. This area is famous for Kimmeridge Bay, which features the Dorset Wildlife Trust's Marine Centre. Visitors can enjoy a scenic stroll to local amenities like a pub and shop after parking at the end of a toll road.
I’ve just got home to tuck in my takeaway only to find a mix up with the order! A quick phone call and a dash and they sorted with curtsy and grace and the correct order. Well done for great customer service
Aaron F — Google review
Definitely better than the Golden Dragon down the road. The chili & salt chips are really good, proper homemade chips with lots of flavour and fresh ingredients. The egg fried rice was nice and fresh, although a bit scarce on egg. The plain chow mein was disappointing though. It was dry and tasted like the bottom of a burnt out BBQ. They just weren’t edible for me unfortunately. The sweet & sour sauce was full of flavour, albeit very gloopy. I’d go again, saves me driving to the Golden Bridge in Weymouth, unless I really want plain chow mein of course.
Jeanette A — Google review
I have tried here twice since they have reopened and the first time was really bad. The chow mein tasted like it had melted plastic inside. Despite better judgement, I tried them again a couple months later, And although it was better and no taste of melted plastic, all the food was just so bland and low quality. The chicken chow mein in particular should’ve been called a bean sprout chow mein. Just colourless raw tasting bean sprouts. Minimal chicken, minimal noodles, It’s such a shame that Bridport doesn’t have a good Chinese restaurant because as soon as it does, I don’t think places like this will get many more orders
Hungary J — Google review
Look it's just me and what we're used to but i didn't like it the lemon chicken was ok the curry was ok but the chips were terrible sorry just my opinion the rice was lovely though
Shirene L — Google review
One of the blandest Chinese takeaways I have eaten. Not sure how they are able to still operate in this small town. Maybe the people living there don’t know what Chinese food supposed to taste like. I ordered Sichuan beef and Sichuan vegetables and my friend ordered the normal Chicken in bamboo shoots. Turned out, my Sichuan beef has nothing to do with Sichuan food. No pepper corns or chilli. Just beef in dark sauce. I have eaten real Sichuan food in Chengdu and Chongqing so I should know how it supposed to taste. And my Sichuan vegetables look and taste exactly the same as my friend’s chicken in bamboo shoot minus the chicken. Best avoid this takeaway unless you like fake watered down Chinese food. On the plus side, the takeaway is very clean and the food comes fast.
Bruce C — Google review
Absolutely disgusting, medium length black hair found in my food (I'm mousy blonde with long hair, so I know it's not mine). Servers weren't wearing hair nets which is unhygienic. I won't ever be ordering from here again!!!
Eva S — Google review
Locals told us how exceptionally good this place is so we were really looking forward to a takeaway from here. Ordered Singapore noodles and chicken chow mein. When we got back to our holiday let what we got was 2 portions of chicken and rice. Couldn't be bothered to go back to town to complain (and possibly wait for another half hour) so we ate in spite of our disappointment.
Graham W — Google review
Probably the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever had. The food was extremely salty and everything tasted burnt or was burnt, even the prawn crackers was burnt. 1 out of 5 people actually finished their food and everyone else's went in the bin

I would like to acknowledge one of your members of staff who was working on the sunday 24th August evening. His name was Dan, he was such a helpful and kind young man. We had to stop to charge the van and get some fresh air after a long journey in our camper van with 3 kids and a puppy and imagine our disappointment as we didn’t realise 1. The car park had a hight barrier. 2, there was a no dog sign everywhere! He came straight over and opened up the barrier so we could change the van up and then he noticed the puppy and he was kind enough to offered his advice on a really lovely walk and it made our stop off such a nice experience! On returning from our walk he then was waiting to open the barrier again to let us out again. Please send our appreciation on to Dan and let him know we were very grateful

Seal's Cove Adventure Centre in Bridport is a top family destination, offering a wide range of activities for kids of all ages. The indoor adventure center features soft play areas with tunnels, slides, and interactive zones for little ones, as well as an indoor climbing center for older children and adults. It's the perfect spot to keep kids entertained on rainy days.
I highly recommend this venue. We took our son and his friend here for his fourteenth birthday outing and we were very impressed. All the staff were polite helpful and knowledgeable. The cafe has a good selection of food and drink including an oat milk option if you’re not keen on dairy. The whole venue is clean and tidy. We will visit again.

What a posh soft play! Positives;- * Really cohesive and detailed decor of the soft play * impeccably clean * reasonably priced entry which wasn’t timed. * Good adult and children’s food menu with if anything a bias towards the parents tastes which is nice. *large soft play area so your kids will have lots to discover and won’t get bored too soon. * background music at a reasonable level. Negatives;- * only cheese scones (I love any kind of scone except cheese) I did enquire if there were any other options and was told he only made one type. If wouldn’t be that much trouble to make two different types. * I gave feedback to this and was informed by the round man serving me “that he wasn’t the chef” not a brilliant response. Still will be happy to visit again

We had a great morning trying out the climbing and the soft play! Our first visit and was really impressed. The staff were great, the kids were fine but me and my husband needed a little help and they were very patient with me being a wimp! The soft play is huge! I can see some whinging about the slide but it will be a safety thing. There is PLENTY to do aside from this. All the staff were friendly, helpful and calm given how busy it was. Lovely drinks, snacks and charging points at every table. Will def return on future rainy days.

This place is incredible.. It has everything an indoor play centre should have and from the moment you walk through the door you are immersed in a setting that leads you to believe you're at a theme park. The decor and trimmings were obviously very well thought out and attention to detail was clearly at the forefront when this centre was designed. Its super modern, funky, quirky and fun. This place really is the future of indoor play centres setting the bar way above what us parents knew was out out there. I had a chat with Matt who excitedly shared the future vision and growth and knowing what's coming in the future I have no doubt this will be a landmark destination for any parent looking for the best value for money and experience for their little ones. Every detail has been carefully executed and if it were a hotel it would be 5 star. Both my children (10 & 5 years old) said it was the best indoor play they had ever been too (we've tried them all) and I had to agree. The prices seemed too good to be true but when we walked through the door we all had smiles and awe on our faces. The staff are super friendly and courteous, the facilities were squeaky clean, food and drink are available at reasonable prices and the actual play area has everything a child needs to have the best time including softball pitch, volleyball court, 'death slide' (just the right height for all ages, including myself)! tunnels, bridges, ball pit, hurdles, twists turns and so much more. Hands down the best experience we've had at an indoor soft play. We drove an hour to get there and we'll spend many more hours driving to go back again and again. This is an absolute gem of a business and they have nailed what all other soft play centres have missed. Thanks again to Matt for sharing the future vision, the staff for keeping the place as crisp and clean as they do and the owner for creating this evolving vision for parents to treat the little ones in a centre that ticks every box. Please check out the photos, they do not do it justice! Don't take my word for it, get over and treat your little one's and see how their faces light up. It's worth every penny! 10/10 would recommend.

One of the best soft play areas I’ve ever been to. Food is delicious & prepared fresh by a chef, portions are also great. Coffees are delicious. Very clean, everything is top spec. You can see the owner has put a lot of pride and effort into this place. Staff are very friendly. I would 100% recommend this place. There’s so much for the kids to do and the seating area is great for the adults with clear view of the soft play area. Overall great experience for all. You won’t be disappointed 😊

During a rainy day Camping we decided to boon the climbing for my daughter's. The climbing facilities were good but the customer service experience was atrocious. On arrival standing at the reception desk waiting to book in when a staff member saw us waiting came and closed the door to the reception desk that led from the staff area and ignored us. Had to ring the assistance bell 3 times before another staff member came to book us in. When my daughters were booked in the instructors didn't seem to want to help, explain how it worked (being their first time there and just ignored the girls until I had to say "They haven't been before can you explain to them what to do please". Not the experience I would expect.
James P — Google review
Found this place when looking for indoor attractions around Bridport, as a way to escape wet weather and keep the kids entertained. A modern, bright and well-run centre with both a large soft play, cafe and a climbing centre located within. The climbing experience was excellent and the instructors were very hands-on and patient with the younger ones (including mine) and this really paid off with making a memorable experience. The soft play was fairly generic itself, but it is very reasonably priced and the sessions are long, so it was perfect for us.

Celebrated children's birthday here. Climbing as a group of 8 kids and a party lunch after. Everyone had a great time. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The two climbing instructors gave them all a wonderful experience: supporting and encouraging everyone including those with additional needs. Lunch was in a private part of the banquet hall. Chips, nuggets, sausages, juice etc. - just what they needed after their hard work on the climbing walls. The adults enjoyed some hot drinks from the café. I'd very much recommend. Thank you!

Dorset Foot Golf is an exhilarating fusion of football and golf, making it a fantastic outdoor activity for both kids and adults alike. Nestled on a picturesque hillside, the 18-hole course boasts breathtaking views of West Bay and the stunning Dorset coastline. Players will encounter an array of fun challenges such as tractor tires, tunnels, ramps, hoops, bunkers, and even iconic local landmarks like Durdle Door! Open year-round, this unique experience can be easily booked online.
Fun activity for a group of adults, no kids required! I’m rubbish at football and still enjoyed it. Great views from the course too.

Visited Dorset Foot Golf on a Sunday. No reservation needed, really friendly staff. Purchased game in the Spar shop. Holiday park was so clean and tidy. Martins bar had a good selection of drinks, I think it was a roast dinner only day. The foot golf course is massive. 18 holes, and a football gaol after the 17th, to practice your penalties. The course its self is very varied. Lots of different challenges to overcome. The course was immaculate. Loved it.
Ian D — Google review
This was such fun. Would recommend to anyone, as long as you're in a fit state to run around and up and down hills, and kick a ball. Even those who aren't into football would enjoy it. It is challenging, but the fun of it is very distracting! The course is long, so value for money. But you can quit half round , if you want. The scoring needed some knowledge of golf (use of par), but you don't need to score so strictly. Recommended, especially on a good weather day.. we had an amazing view of the surrounding landscape and out to the sea.
Nerida B — Google review
I don't think the people who designed this course ever played it. It's impossible to play as footgolf, trying to get as few kicks as possible. As the course is on a hillside, the ball will mostly always roll off. We still had a fun time but we didn't keep score. Just kicked the ball lots and chased after it continuously!!
Claire B — Google review
Great fun...lasts about an hour and a half of you're not rushing. Shame some people walked past the bins dotted around the course and left rubbish on the grass.
Ashlea A — Google review
Played with grandson and his friend this afternoon - ok you have to chase the ball around so don’t take it too seriously but what a laugh I had and the boys enjoyed it too. When you stop to catch your breath the views are outstanding - all in all a fun time was had by all.
Sharon S — Google review
Great idea shame it is on the side of a steep hill. Unless you get the ball in the hole first try you will constantly be watching it roll back down the hill to where you started from. Only way to make progress is playing the ball along the rough on the edge of the fairways to prevent the rolling. The course did have some gravel boards in some areas to help this but these disappeared when you got nearer the hole.
Gavin D — Google review
Very poor experience. The whole course is on a very steep slope, and for the price paid (which they will tell you is cheaper than other foot golf courses nationally) it is ridiculous. Due to the steep slopes, anything that misses the hole basically rolls back to the start of each hole again. You could see many disappointed families trudging round the course with upset children because the course is nearly impossible. Such a shame - as it had real potential. I’d avoid this and save your money if I were you.

Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre is a visitor center located in a quiet village on the western fringes of Dorset. It features fossil displays, including an ichthyosaur, and provides information about the Jurassic Coast. The village is popular with walkers and outdoor enthusiasts due to its scenic footpaths and coastal views. Charmouth Beach is known for fossil hunting, attracting amateur paleontologists searching for prehistoric treasures like ammonites. The area's significance has earned it recognition as a World Heritage Site.
Charmouth is a fantastic base for walkers. The South West Coast Path runs right through the village, offering a variety of trails. You can take a scenic, albeit steep, walk up Golden Cap for breathtaking panoramic views of Lyme Bay. For a less strenuous option, a circular walk between Charmouth and Lyme Regis offers beautiful coastal and countryside views. You can even walk directly along the beach to Lyme Regis at low tide, which is a popular and rewarding trek. Just be sure to check tide times to avoid being cut off.

As I had a dog, I went up stairs to the Heritage coast centre to ask the rules around dogs. Meredith, the woman on guard duty, told me to tie up my dog downstairs, ( I did not enter into the museum Because dogs can’t go in). I asked if she had any leaflets of information regarding the fossil beach and she just said tie up your dog and you can get them yourself, and refused to hand me any. I found her attitude extremely rude and condescending. I then met Steve who works for the local council and he was the total opposite, he even went to change my £5 note, into coins for the parking. WiFi is not very reliable there. I also have to mention that Meredith was watching as I talked to Steve and was smirking. I didn’t appreciate that when I challenged her attitude she responded I’m a volunteer. Does that give her the right to be rude? I don’t think so. I did not go in to the facility. I was extremely disappointed with Meredith’s attitude.

Charmouth is a beautiful and interesting beach with constantly changing scenery due to erosion and just the sheer natural aspects of the constantly changing ocean and weather. I come here often to put it midly as it has a real sense of calm and tranquillity for me whether it be to eat my sandwiches, have a quick snooze on my way to or from fishing, grab some air, recharge or simply watch the stunning sunrises and sunsets ill always stop. It stretches for miles as does your imagination when there. I prefer winter time in all honesty as I prefer if im the only person around although in the warmer months I usually am as I arrive at 4am probably at the latest. The car park attends are welcoming and friendly and also work hard to maintain cleanliness especially after spring tides or/ and strong south westerlies. It gets very crowded at weekends and summer holidays though with people searching for fossils as its world renowned for precisely this. Thoroughly recommended.

Parked at the Langden Hill National Trust Carpark and took the "easy" path to the top of the Golden Cap. A lovely walk, and the views are incredible of the Jurassic Coast. Highly recommended, especially if you enjoy rambling or walking.

So if you are on the road heading to Dorchester take the right hand turn straight after felicity's, call in btw, the local wine is delicious, anyway go right it ain't signposted but you will get to a catpark. It costs around 3 pounds. You need actual cash. Coins. But from there you can do the golden cap and the wood walk. It takes about an hour and is around 5500 steps. It is upsy in one place but worth the effort.
Tom B — Google review
I found the closest car park to be Langdon hill car park. Postcode DT6 6EP. Its a pay and display car park, national trust members are free. The walk to the golden cap is around 25 minutes with some walk through a forest. The last steps up to the Golden cap are steep, but there's not too many of them. You can also walk to the golden cap along the south west coast path. Its worth going, as the views are amazing, and there's a large sandy area at the top, where there's plenty of room for a few people to sit.

Finding activities that suit two family groups with 4 adults and 5 children (aged between 5-13) isn't always easy but our adventure on the river Brit was a complete winner. John was fantastic providing advice and information before the booking and Nick was incredible on the day. They were so friendly and supportive with the children, putting them all completely at ease despite not having much canoeing experience. Being out on the river was really tranquil and we loved hearing all about the history of the area and spotting nature. Seeing a gorgeous Kingfisher, who led the way up stream, was a massive highlight. Thanks to the West Bay Canoe team for a wonderful time to add to our Dorset holiday memories.

Be in the moment on River Brit! What a way to see the River Brit in West Bay, Dorset. Two canoes roped together to provide better stability, which also meant Graham didn’t have to row so much! Cormorants, dragonflies, water vole and being in the moment - wow. Great commentary by Nick too!

Amazing afternoon. We did the 2hr guided tour with Nick. So informative. He made the whole experience so fun for all of us. Would highly recommend these guys.

Really fun Canoe tour up the river. Incredible surroundings and beautiful wildlife- we spotted an Adder swimming across the river and lots of ducklings and baby Moorhens. John was really knowledgeable and told us some very interesting facts about the river and surrounding area. We stopped off at the Brewery and had time to pop in to the shop to get a bottle to take home. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had an amazing time. Our two hour guided trip was led by Nick, who had a wealth of knowledge about the various parts of the river we passed through, and was incredibly calm, kind and supportive in encouraging us as two inexperienced canoers. The river is beautiful, and the meandering course from West Bay towards Bridport is wonderfully secluded and peaceful for most of it's length, with plenty of wildlife pointed out to us by Nick. Not too strenuous, either - we took things at our own pace, so were able to focus on the nature the calming effect of being on the water in such a beautiful place. Highly recommended!

A brilliant fun morning for three generations of canoeists, 10 in total, guided by John who gave fascinating insights into the river history and wildlife as we went along. Very enthusiastic help by his daughter helping the group onto the water. Highly recommended for a peaceful change of scene and activity.

West Bay Beach Dorset is a picturesque destination with imposing sandstone cliffs towering over the Jurassic Coast. Divided into West Bay (East) and West Beach, it offers something for everyone. The western end of Chesil Beach is perfect for fossil hunting and walking along the South West Coast Path, while West Beach is ideal for families with its safer waters and dog-friendly environment. The beach features shingle and pebbles, providing stunning views of Poole Bay and the Isle of Wight.
Had to visit the location of Broadchurch, such a beautiful beach, and the lovely town of Bridport. A working port with lovely walks and good food.

Brilliant place. Beautiful little area. Lots of places to eat and the scenery is beautiful. Fount the ‘Platform Resturant’ and what a unique little Resturant placed within an old train station and train carriages.
J B — Google review
We went at 8a.m ona weekday summer morning. It was beautiful to see West Cliff in the early light. There was an impressive amount of swimmers out at that time. Car parking is quite expensive, as expected for such a popular area, but is the same price as other beach car parks (e.g West Bexington). We walked the coastal path up the East Cliff which led to more beautiful views.
Deb — Google review
Looks as though it would be lovely on a good day, but we arrived to torrential rain most places were closed, but what we could see were alot of food options to choose from when they were open

Lovely little seaside town, massive carpark before you enter the town, not only for cars but campers, day vans etc plus sea front parking available... Plenty of boats in the harbour, some trawlers from fishing trade... Lots of benches and seating all around the harbour, sea front, to enjoy fish and chips, donuts from the numerous take away places.. Restaurants, bars, pubs and gift shops can be found dotted about... Shingle beach spreads out on each side of the harbour... Crab Fishing is a must, it seems in this town, old and young enjoying the pass time... Not too busy while we were there mid week.. motorcycles were packed onto the town center, seems a great meeting point for bikers in this area... One thing watch out for the chip thief's with wings..🤣..

Nice beach, could not swim as the waves were bad, loved crabbing at the harbour.

This seaside town is beyond words.... We love coming here, there is such a lovely vibe about the place Plenty of places to eat and drink, nice walk around the harbour and along the beach (but beware of walking too close to the cliffs, as there are rock falls) We have taken our touring caravan to the Freshwater Holiday Camp, Highlands End holiday camp and the Park Dean camp; and would really recommend all of them

Dorset West Bay Beach is a beautiful beach with stunning views of the Jurassic Coast. The beach is clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of amenities nearby, making it a great place for families with kids. Parking available right next to the beach with fair price. However, the beach can be unpleasant during bad weather, so it's important to check the forecast before you go.

Hive Beach is a well-maintained and dog-friendly pebble beach with a relaxed vibe. It features dramatic cliffs and offers plenty of space for activities like fossil hunting, flying kites, or playing with a ball. The beach has clean facilities including toilets and a cafe in the nearby National Trust car park. Parking is available for non-members at reasonable rates, while National Trust members enjoy free parking.
This is a nice dog friendly beach. There is a large national trust carpark very close by with a cafe and toilet facilities as well. This beach is great for fossil hunting and plenty of people were enjoying the calm waters. The sand is mostly made up of very fine curshed pebbles, which are useless for making sand castles from, but there is plenty of room for flying a kite or playing with a ball etc.

Had lunch at the Hive Beach Cafe . Absolutely one of the tastiest dishes I’ve eaten in a very long time . I had the mackerel and it was sooooo good. Staff were friendly , personable and the location is great. Definitely recommend and would go back in a heartbeat ( I’m g/ f too so it was an extra treat to have such good food ).

Hive Beach in Dorset is an absolute gem. Nestled along the Jurassic Coast, it offers stunning views with its mix of sandy and shingle beach, backed by dramatic cliffs. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers and fossil hunters, with the South West Coast Path providing beautiful walks along the coastline. It’s also dog-friendly and has good facilities, including parking. While the beach can be a bit steep in places and the cliffs can be unstable, it’s still a fantastic spot for a day out. Whether you’re after a peaceful retreat or an outdoor adventure, Hive Beach delivers both.

We visited this fantastic beach last week. It stretches for miles in both directions and the sea views and cliff faces are breathtaking. A really great place to visit for a long walk, combined with some fossil hunting. There's a very popular cafe and plenty of parking, which is free for NT members. Well worth a visit and much more accessible than nearby West Bay.

The beach is divided into two sections by the River Char, with opportunities for rock-pooling and paddling on the pebbly West Beach.
We have just spent a great week in Charmouth and spent every day at the beach. It has everything you need for a great time by the sea. A very photogenic beach with the added bonus of fossil hunting and sea glass finding. £6 parking all day. Fantastic selection of ice creams. Charmouth fossils and the Heritage centre are great places to visit. Just wished we lived closer as this is my go to holiday destination.

A ridiculously busy beach. The sand is both pebble and sand. One major cafe and toilets available. Two kiosks within the pot holed car park. The cliff walk is nice but I cannot understand why this beach is so popular. Dogs not allowed on the main part at certain times of the year.

Tunnel Tree Tops Ltd Charmouth is an award-winning high ropes adventure course set in the woodland at The Tunnel. Visitors have praised the well-maintained facilities and the friendly, relaxed, and professional staff. Many have shared positive experiences of their children overcoming nerves with the help of supportive instructors.
Brilliant experience! Came here with our 12-year old and 14-year old sons and had a great time. Really fun course with 3 zipwires in between the many rope obstacles. The staff were super professional, patient and helped us get the most out of the session. Parking was easy, good toilet facilities near the car park. We also brought our dog who had a lovely trot around the footpaths beneath the rope course.

Took my daughter and her friends here for her birthday, they thought it was great and a bit scary, one friend had a wobble part way through the course and was a bit worried if she would get through it but with the brilliant coaching from one of the assistants who helped her get all the way through the course she made it, well done that man. Definitely going again and may even try it myself next time. The only down point my daughter said was the course wasn't long enough 😳😆 they did get to go round twice though. Other points, portaloo on site and you can get snacks and drink on site. Spectators can view from either by the reception area or walk down around the course viewing from below.

Visited here at the weekend with two friends for something fun to do. Adult and child friendly. Cora (Owner) and Sophie (Staff) were really professional, lovely, and accommodating- seen as we called up 15mins before the start of the only remaining session for the day. Really fun setup at Tunnel Tree Tops with a nice mix of obstacles on the course. Fun for all appropriate ages and a good laugh. Really secure and well maintained treetop assault course - equipment was immaculate and clearly cared for. Safety briefing was 10/10 and lots of reassurance for anyone who is nervous/first time.
Matthew G — Google review
Many 5 star reviews for a reason. The staff were brilliant. They covered all the safe issues quickly and efficiently, all the mostly children did the course without getting into trouble and needing help from the staff. The cable system means the children are attached to the safety line 100%. Parents can observe from either the start or follow on the ground. BTW the staff even thought to give observers a safety briefing. Highly recommend.

We recently visited Tunnel Tree Tops when we were on holiday & have to say we loved every minute of it! It was well ran and organised from the moment we arrived right through to the end. The instructors were super friendly and helpful; they made the whole experience really enjoyable. The course itself was well thought out with a range of obstacles and zip wires, each with different difficulty challenges so you could push yourself on them as much or as little as you felt comfortable with. This was a lovely bonus as it meant it can be made more difficult to your own abilities and how confident you are! It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Thank you again, we couldn’t recommend you guys enough!

Mangerton Mill Museum is a charming establishment situated in a picturesque location next to a millpond. It offers visitors the opportunity to explore an assortment of vintage items, tools, and household objects displayed across all three floors of the old mill. For photography enthusiasts, it presents an excellent chance to capture captivating images. However, please note that access to these floors is only possible via steep mill ladder/staircases, making it unsuitable for individuals with limited mobility.
Lovely water mill & museum. Unfortunately the museum wasnt open today but we will return. The cafe was nice & friendly . Also local crafts worth a visit 😁

An interesting old 17th century watermill and Museum of Rural Bygones. There is a cafe on site, called the Tea Chest, as well as local crafts and a lake to wander around. The 'museum' is £2.50 payable via an honesty box.
Chris K — Google review
This is a delightful place. There is a cafe, craft shop, camping ground and pond. Beside the cafe is a working mill wheel fed by a torrent of water that sounds amazing. The cafe is open from 10-4 every day except Mondays (open on Bank Holiday Mondays though). The food in the cafe is great. We had lunch - "vegetarian" bagels with side orders of chips. Delicious. The pond was in use by Model Boating enthusiasts, sailing some yachts and model ships - one making a chuffing sound and producing steam from its funnel. Great to see. The place is tucked away down a short driveway (quite a rough road surface) and the country lane is single car width in places, a couple of miles from the nearest main road, so we had to stop in wider passing places a couple of times to let cars pass.
Jeffrey S — Google review
Beautiful location to while away a few hours. The Watermill museum has a working water wheel ( although not currently coupled to the grindstones the water wheel turns and a lot of the internal milling equipment is still in place.) Entrance 2.50 a head when we visited. The museum also houses an eclectic mix of old domestic equipment and tools from the last century. The cafe next door is excellent and serves tea and cakes plus a more extensive breakfast and lunch menu. Behind the Mill there is a mown paddock to enable you to walk around the periphery of the Millpond and a separate footpath takes you through the trees to the sluice gates which are quite impressive with the River Mangerton cascading down the spillway.
G P — Google review
Brilliant little place, with a fabulous quirky museum and great tea house next door! Open Tuesdays - Sundays

Great little hidden gem! We started our visit in the cosy little cafe, lots of choice and very nice food. A light rain shower then directed us into the very interesting museum, lots to see! including the wheel from the inside (apart from seeing the wheel, awkward steps are involved) then we emerged to the sun making an appearance onto the lovely lake, lots of benches, ducks and a little walk down to the sluice gates which is a very pretty little spot. Before we left we visited the gift/craft shop which was full of very reasonably priced items and plants for sale too. A very enjoyable morning of exploring and will definately be returning 😊 There was also an Art gallery but not sure on the opening days as closed on the Saturday we visited.
