Museum
The Natural-Forest Museum, located in Bialowieza National Park, is the oldest museum within the Polish national parks. It showcases exhibitions on natural zoology and botany. Visitors can learn about the origins and history of the pristine forest, as well as its diverse inhabitants. Uroczysko Hajduki, a picturesque spot in the wild forest, offers a perfect setting for picnics with car parking facilities, covered wooden tables, and a fireplace for bonfires.
Very cool audio tour (about 45ish minutes long). Some local history with a lot of information about the animals and the forests. Definitely worth it. There aren’t any signs for the entrance around the building so just keep walking around the building - you’ll eventually get to the entrance.
Olimpia Z — Google review
Really neat place! We had trouble finding a place to stay. Ask at the restaurant across the street from the museum. They have rooms for let.
Devidyal G — Google review
We have thoroughly enjoyed this museum. It provided a lot of information about Bialowieza forest without being boring or difficult to follow. The permanent exhibition is sort of interactive: you have to listen to the audio guide and move through the different sections of the museum which light up automatically. You are never standing in one place. The different sections of the forest are set up very nicely; they mimic how the forest naturally appears and you have to find the animals while listening to the audio guide. It takes about 1 hour to cover the permanent exhibition. Audio guide is available in English and Polish, not sure about other languages.
Jovita V — Google review
Interesting museum, definitely worth a visit! The audio-guided tour is a very nice feature (ticket is only €5) and very well explains all the aspects and history of Bialowieza. Would also definitely recommend a guided tour through the actual forest!
Arnold Z — Google review
Nice place to visit explaining the origins and history of the neutral forest as well as it's inhabitants
Peter G — Google review
A great place to visit. Surrounded by an English style park. Inside the building a nice restaurant where one can taste samogon.
Jerzy C — Google review
The museum is quite interesting and the Audioguide in German is really good. But the fact that you can only enter in groups is not good. The tour is quite long 55 minutes but some stations offer not enough time to look at everything.
Marek V — Google review
Nice exhibits of prehistoric forest flora and fauna. My only complaint is that exhibits in each room are lit for short duration, sometimes shorter than the audio from listening device. I would also like to be able to walk a short trail into the old forest to see what it really looks like. Seems the nature trails are accessible only with a bike or very long hike (or they are not well marked).

Nature & Wildlife Areas
The European Bison Show Reserve is a captivating wildlife haven that offers visitors the chance to explore walking paths while observing majestic bison, wolves, and elk in their natural surroundings. Nestled near the Bialowieza National Park, this reserve provides a unique opportunity to see European bison up close—something that's quite rare in protected areas. For a modest entrance fee of 20 zlotys, guests can delve into fascinating museum exhibits that detail the history and biology of these magnificent creatures.
Great nature reserve with big enclosures, and yet much wildlife to discover and observe from close up (with a bit of luck and good timing). Saw some bad reviews about "nothing to see" which I can wholeheartedly object with a bunch of pictures of all the amazing animals we have encountered. Might be a bit day/time dependent. We visited in the morning and noon hours on a rather cool summer day and had a blast 🤩
Markus V — Google review
Almost not animals and those that are available to see are sleeping or hiding. Ticket is 25 PLN. Free parking.
Amarok S — Google review
The animals have plenty of space; the wolves hide best — we barely noticed them, as they were sweetly sleeping away from everyone among the trees. There is a playground. Two hours is more than enough for a leisurely walk. Large parking, there are ticket vending machines.
Yauheniya S — Google review
A very nice place to see local animals that live in the Białowieża Forest. We saw the bisons, elk, deer and wolves.
Carolina H — Google review
Must see place when in Białowieża region to see European Bison - "żubr" as seeing one in the wild during a forest walk is rare. There is a playground for children. Free Parking.
Marcin J — Google review
Definitely worth visiting. Ticket costs 25 zł and the whole park can be covered comfortably in an hour.
Sz G — Google review
Unfortunately, we didn’t see most of the animals. Not sure if they were hiding somewhere or simply not there. Since it was also very hot, the animals were very sluggish and mostly lying in the shade. Maybe it's better to visit on a cooler day, but I wouldn’t recommend it on a hot summer day.
Kerlit K — Google review
There is not much to see to be honest just like 4,5 similar animals and that’s all and it is not big too but they charging a lot like we were the family of 7 people and after all discounts and everything we paid 72Z which is not worth at all after driving that far no one us enjoyed not recommended at all

Białowieża National Park is a must-visit destination known for its ancient forest and thriving European bison population. The park offers opportunities for hiking and cycling, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of one of Europe's largest and most stunning forests.
I had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at białowieża forest
Matan S — Google review
Bialowieza National Park ( part under strick protection) . No man planted all the trees. Everything looks natural. If a tree falls, it stays there. There are European bisons here, bobcats, wolves and more. A lot of birds and wild flowers.
M. D — Google review
It was a forest like any other, so I would definitely not go out of my way again to experience it. The difference between the old and new forest is probably only visible for those who have a professional interest.
Dea P — Google review
Marvellous primeval forest, we booked an English speaking tour guide in advance. Seen 600 year old oak still decaying and many more beautiful old trees and stories about the forest.
Albert L — Google review
Incredible forest. Massive trees. Great air. Plenty of birds, insects and fungi. Bison was elusive, apparently better to visit in the autumn, as during summer they tend to stay in the forest. Let yourself loose on the kilometers upon kilometres of forest roads. Bring your bike with u!
Marceli S — Google review
If you understand about flora you will like it not much fauna to see. If you are not keen on trees , better don't go , you can get a bit bored. For a walk it's good , for a guide visit it can be a bit boring, not much to see .
Dori ( — Google review
The park is very beautiful, and being in nature is really nice. But this is not the visit we were promised. They clearly told us that we would not see any bison at the begining of the visit, and the guides arrived thirty minutes late. We woke up at 3 a.m. for a walk that we could have done at 10, and we did it with a guide who was not very good. In conclusion, a failure.
NICOLÁS P — Google review
The park was very impressive. Our guided tour was excellent. The guide, Patryk, was incredibly knowledgeable on plant ecology and forest systems, and was easy to talk with. The mosquitos were very aggressive despite the liters of repellant we sprayed on us, that was also the only downside.

Great, beautiful hike. Keep in mind, this is NOT a 2.4 kilometer walk. Maybe in straight line, but NOT if you are following the path. In reality it's around 5 km one way.Definitely not for kids , if you are going to go all the way. We packed for a 2 hr walk and ended up walking over 8 miles in all. There are a lot of people on the path and even more mosquitos, so make sure you use deet before you enter ( unfortunately it does not repel people)
Katarzyna I — Google review
A wonderful place to relax and recharge. Quiet and peaceful. The trail is not a loop: it's there and back. Two hours of easy walking round trip.
Yauheniya S — Google review
Light and pleasant walking. About 3 km in one way. Bicycles are prohibited. A lot of mosquitos.
Tikhon L — Google review
Advertised as "educational passage", but you will not find a single info board throughout its length. Nevertheless, it makes sense to spend ca. 2x35 minutes to walk both ways, a nice and natural experience
Wojciech F — Google review
This is a great walking path from free parking to Natural Bison Reserve. Half of the road is just forest path and other half is wooden path(it is slippery when wet so be careful). Parking is not big, so early arrival is recommended especially in the summer. Path is long about 2.7 km and can be completed on the wheelchair as no stairs in the way. Don't forget that you walk in National park so no open fire, no litter, don't pick mushrooms or flowers and don't walk of the path.
Jan C — Google review
Lovely forest walk elevated boardwalk to keep you off the ground
David M — Google review
Beautiful walk, 9km in total :)
Mariya O — Google review
It is a very pleasant walk around 3.15km one way, there is no payment needed and I would highly recommend using mosquito spray. In my opinion, going back and forth in the same path can get a bit boring, so i recommend going one way and visiting the Żubr reserve.

It is an achievement of a group of individuals devoted to preservation of local culture. Created literally with their own hands (and money). Definitely worth seeing.
Katarzyna G — Google review
This place is very poorly maintained and almost feels abandoned. I've been to many skansens in Poland and this is by far the worst. A real shame.
Glenn S — Google review
I was surprised about this so called "skansen", because there are in total only two windmills, two wooden houses and two workshops, a stall and an orthodox chapel. Not much to see and part of these buildings is used as dwellings by private persons. The buildings were build in XX century, so there is nothing special about them. Disappointing.
Anna G — Google review
It was such a picturesque place where I could learn a real life of peasants back in the history
Soojin H — Google review
Nice open air museum. It is located a short 10 minutes walk from the centre of Bialowieza. Entrance is free.

Nature & Parks
The Palace Park in Białowieża serves as the gateway to the renowned Bialowieza forest, providing an excellent starting point for birdwatching enthusiasts. This location is known for its abundance of fascinating avian species such as the Common Rosefinch and River Warbler. Additionally, due to its convenient proximity to the town center, it offers visitors a pleasant opportunity for a leisurely evening walk following a long day of exploring the forest.
This is the entrance hall to the Białowieża forest. A very good place to start your birding in the area as it usually produces some nice birds such as Common Rosefinch or River Warbler. As it is within walking distance from the town center, it is a good place for an evening stroll after a long birding day at the forest.
