1Lublin Castle

Museum
Lublin Castle, situated in the heart of Lublin, Poland, is a 12th-century fortress-turned-museum that offers a captivating experience for visitors. Initially founded as a wooden structure by High Duke Casimir II the Just, it was later fortified with stone walls and a circular keep. The castle's rich history includes serving as a royal residence, prison, and military fortress.
Visiting Zamek w Lublinie was an unforgettable experience that beautifully combined rich history, unique architecture, and a profound sense of cultural heritage. The building itself is visually striking—its elegant neo-Gothic façade, complete with turrets and arched windows, makes it one of the most iconic landmarks in Lublin. The castle's light-colored exterior and symmetrical structure create an inviting yet majestic atmosphere that draws you in from the moment you arrive. Inside, the castle houses the Lublin Museum, which showcases a wide range of exhibits reflecting the region’s historical and artistic legacy. One of the most fascinating aspects of this site is its layered history: originally established as a stronghold in the Middle Ages, it has served various roles over centuries—including a royal residence, prison, and now a cultural institution. What adds even more depth to the visit is the outdoor information board, which clearly explains the significance of the Castle Hill, the Union of Lublin, and the architectural transformations the site has undergone. It also outlines various cultural trails that pass through this location, making it an excellent starting point for exploring the broader historical context of Lublin. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city—whether you're a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or simply looking for a meaningful stop in Lublin.
Misha S — Google review
Excellent exhibitions, including history related to living in Lublin area throughout the centuries, big numismatic collection, and very interesting temporary art exhibition dedicated to women's art from 1850 - 1950 plus exhibition of art of Tamara Lempicka. Highly recommended.
Urszula S — Google review
Make sure to download the "Muzeum Narodowego w Lublinie" app and inside the app a 300MB audio guide (if you download it at the Castle it will take up to an hour to finish). Otherwise the visit will feel a bit wasted. So far the least interesting castle in Poland. Half of the space is dedicated to paintings and the castle itself looks to be rebuilt and lacks it's medieval feel.
Stundzia A — Google review
Beautiful castle with artefacts, paintings. Provides a great history of Lublin 300 - 500BC and how people lived. There was a beaitiful chapel with inages forom 600 years ago and two art exhibitions.
Barbara J — Google review
I’d give this place a 5/5 if I weren’t comparing it with Wawel or Prague’s castle. For 40zl, you get access to all of the permanent collections, the keep, and BEST of all, the incredible chapel. I came for this spot specifically, which honestly blew me away. A gorgeous and truly impressive example of Byzantine-Ruthenian artwork, dating back to the 15th century. I could spend hours in there. I’d love to come back for a detailed tour. I also greatly enjoyed the small exhibit of Russian icons, which were wonderfully displayed.
Chrissy M — Google review
Worth visiting the tower. Go to the very top for scenic views of city.
Chetan P — Google review
The castle has turned into a very good, rather big museum. So take your time and don't hurry. Expect to be approx 2 hours in the museum. And yes, buy also the ticket for the chapel (one the highlights in Lublin), that is UNESCO list! Different rooms/ galleries with different styles. Galleries with Lublin area history, icons, highlights of Polish painters, coins.

The Lublin Village Open Air Museum is an attractive and environmentally significant attraction in Poland that offers insights into the history and culture of rural villages from past eras. The lush grounds feature beautiful wooden structures that represent old Poland, providing visitors with a glimpse into traditional village life. There is an entrance fee, but it's reasonably priced considering the knowledge one can gain.
Amazing place to spend a day in Lublin! The territory is rather big, so it's definitely one day advature. A lot of animals, nice to watching them, they look healthy and happy😊 Great exposition of houses and village life. As well it was interesting to see restored old workshops, shops, a restaurant and a dental office from the beginning of the last century
Eliza N — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit here. For a small fee you can experience a recreation of a heritage village showing what home steads in Poland used to look like. There is lots of information here and it's a very pleasant way to spend a few hours or more outside. There is plenty of space so you could picnic here also as it's essentially like being in a large park. There was a bar / restaurant towards the end where we stopped for a beer.
John A — Google review
A beautiful peaceful place for young and old alike. (Although a few small inclines). Some exhibitions/ souvenir shop close 15-30 minutes before the site closes. Worthy of a few hours to a full day. See old rural Poland in its glory and enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Parking may be a challenge at busy times. Sufficient toilets and restaurant. Would definitely and robably will go back again.

I came here hoping to learn more about my great grandmother who was originally from Kluczkowice. Seeing how houses were built and upheld around the time of her departure to the US in 1913 was very powerful. I felt alive and at home here. I enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds.

A fantastic location, with a good look into the history of Farm life in Poland some 3 or 4 hundred years ago. Very interesting for kids and adults alike. Highly recomended for a whole day out. You can feed the fish down at the lake. There are sheep, goats and a cow. As well as horses There is a kids petting area. There is also a Cafe and some local honey selling.

Lublin Village Open Air Museum is a very nice open-air museum, not so far from the centre of Lublin. On the huge area are located numerous gorgeous buildings from the Lublin Voivodeship surrounded by trees, bushes and other greenery. Between the old architecture are places in which traditional breeds of domesticated animals are kept or roam freely. This open-air museum allowed visitors of different ages not only to experience various aspects of the regional folk culture but also to learn interesting facts concerning the recent past. It also allows visitors to rest actively and to relax in the green places.
Klaudia K — Google review
Quite unusual place. Most buildings were from around 1930s original, moved here. They have a history of families living in them attached. It is a quiet place, very good to chill and slow pace enjoying.

Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre, a pale yellow gate along the way from Rynek to Lublin Castle, holds significant historical and cultural importance. Once marking the entrance to Lublin's Jewish quarter, it has been transformed into a cultural center showcasing the city's Polish-Jewish heritage. The 'Memory of the Place' exhibition at its core evokes memories of Lublin's Jewish quarter that was tragically destroyed during the Holocaust.
I did the guided tour of the gate and it was great! I felt like I got to know Lublin and its history better by doing this tour than by walking it. Definitely recommended.

We had a superb tour of the Jewish memorial archives. Very intimate with 5 of us on the English tour at 12pm. The guide was superb and tailored the tour to meet everyone's needs. The tour took almost 2 hours but the time flew by!
Anthony G — Google review
Incredible theater and museum serving as a continuing and historic gateway between past and present, Jewish and Polish. Performances based partly on the vital work being accomplished by the cultural center, which is slowly recovering information on the thousands of Jews who once made Lublin the powerful regional and European community it was - and, differently composed, remains. Part museum, part theater, part school, part archive. An important way to learn and honor the city’s traditions and tragedies. A must see experience. Contemporary exhibits in thoughtfully planned layout. Living history.
Justin R — Google review
One of those places that I hope lives on forever. Theater, museum, research center and archive, this place has it all! The way they present the history of the Jewish story in Lublin is unlike any other place I've seen. Take the tour and allow time to go back and view all the pictures and exhibitions. You won't regret it.
Alonso R — Google review
An incredibly interesting place in Lublin where you can learn a lot about the Jewish history of the city and its inhabitants. There is a very interesting exhibition and lots of archive material - you could really call it an archive of memories and stories. It's really great to see that the people there are so committed to the history and culture of the city. The publications are also highly recommended. There are guided tours on various topics (also in English), which we highly recommend. We took part in a guided tour on the Jewish history of the city with Katarzyna and it was a great experience, she was very friendly and we learned a lot! An absolute recommendation if you come to Lublin!

St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Lublin, was established in the latter half of the 16th century and boasts a baroque inner decor adorned with frescoes.
The most famous cathedral in Lublin) It is located in the centre if the city. Its design attracts visually and is impossible to ignore. The typical Baroque building attracts attention to the column and the tower. The church looks majestic inside. It has a rich artistic interior decoration which seems to be too pompous. There are some old relics and paintings of famous artists of the 17-18th centuries. It is a must visit place for tourists!

Very typical church structure and beautiful church. It has very big area and inside the church is adorable. Very high building and we can see all around the old city from top of the building. Inside the church is Very calm and peaceful. we can have mind relax by sitting inside the church. It is open for people who need to go inside and pray. There are many beautiful paintings inside the church and it is reflects traditional paintings.

Beautiful, but by reading the information boards you can feel you are not welcome there if you are in a cohabitation relationship. For all of you not participating in religion classes at school, don't even think to ask for confirmation or a wedding there. Building very well renovated. To be honest a but too much, especially when you leave the building to look around at all of falling apart blocks of flats, detached houses that seem to be occupied. Visas, American Express, and MasterCard accepted for donations. Plus for accepting donations for the good purpose. The payment terminal has an option in English also. The mass is broadcast online.

Quite a popular park in the central part of Lublin. It has a small fountain, a playground, a stage for different performances and a cafe for peacocks. You can also see peacocks wandering around. At the main entrance you can also get some ice cream in summer time. The park has many benches, but because of the birds it’s not possible to use quite a few of them :) For unknown reasons the paths in the park can switch from cobblestone to asphalt or dirt road. You can be walking one way and the asphalt will suddenly stop and you’ll end up on small gravel path… All in all many people come here to spend some time
Anya N — Google review
The young peacocks are already walking around the runway. So much fun. The Bosco ice cream has lost its flavor, which is a shame.

The Old Town Market Square in Lublin has a rich history dating back almost 700 years. After a fire in 1575, the wooden buildings were replaced with impressive brick townhouses named after their historic owners. The square is known for attracting painters and sculptors, giving Kazimierz its unique character. Visitors can admire the parish church above the square and beautifully decorated facades of tenement houses. The area offers cafes, restaurants, small museums, and interesting sculptures to explore.
Lublin has a breathtaking old town with narrow, winding streets that hold secrets from the Middle Ages. Strolling around the market square feels like a walk back in time, when Lublin was a bustling city on the crossroads between Central and Eastern Europe. Lublin's eclectic mix of cultures and traditions is cemented in its opulent town houses and numerous plazas. I was very impressed by how clean, lively, and safe Lublin is. I'm already planning a trip back to this charming city.

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity, located in Lublin, Poland, is a captivating historical site that showcases a blend of Gothic and Byzantine styles. Constructed in the 14th century and later remodeled in the early 15th century, it features remarkable frescoes depicting biblical passages and contemporary portraits of King Wladyslaw Jagiello.
Gothic style chapel with byzantine style frescoes. It was built in the begining of XV century and is remarkable for combination of western and eastern European cultures. Frescoes inside depicts are fulfiled with graffities from XVI-XVIII centuries.
Ksay O — Google review
The Chapel of the Holy Trinity is a truly stunning architectural gem that beautifully combines Gothic structure with Baroque elements. From the moment you arrive, you are captivated by its striking facade – the red brick exterior creates a bold contrast against the elegant, creamy white stucco upper section, which features ornate decorative elements and a beautifully detailed gable. Even on a cloudy day, the chapel stands out with a unique charm that reflects its historical and cultural significance. The building’s exterior is extremely well preserved, and you can immediately feel the weight of history in its walls. The arched windows and stone detailing around the central window and entrance add a noble elegance to the entire structure. The surroundings are also very clean and well maintained, making it an inviting and peaceful place to explore. Whether you're a lover of history, architecture, or simply in search of quiet inspiration, this chapel is a must-visit. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be inside as well. It’s definitely one of the highlights of any trip to Lublin. I highly recommend making time to visit this landmark – it’s a perfect example of Poland’s rich heritage and artistry.

Evgeny G — Google review
Impressive part of Lithuanian Grand Duchy history. :) Chapel was built in 1326 as part of Lublin Castle complex. In 1407 it was rebuilt in Gothic style by Lithuanian grand duke and Polish king Jogaila. Extensive fresco work was conducted in the interior by an anonymous team of Ruthenian painters under the supervision of Master Andrey. It was during this time that the walls and ceiling were covered in a Rutheno-Byzantine polychrome. The paintings were completed in 1418, which is noted in Cyrillic on the patronage tablet, located on the arch between the nave and the presbytery of the church. Along with religious scenes decorating the interior of the church, there are two portraits of Jogaila, the patron of the painting project. The polychrome was conducted with various techniques: both on dry and wet plaster with tempera paint. So, it is very sensitive and protected area. :)

The State Museum of Majdanek is a memorial museum located on the site of a WWII concentration camp. It houses buildings, photographs, and personal effects from that era. The exhibits are available in English as well and offer an educational experience about the atrocities committed during that time. It takes around four hours to visit the entire museum, so it's best to plan for a sunny day as it can get cold and windy in winters.
A fantastic trip out from the centre of Lublin. Very interesting site to visit. Lots of information in 3 languages boards to read around the entire exhibition. Lots of walking involved to take in the entire place . Gas chamber, barracks etc all very harrowing to see. With free entry

An incredible place. Take a 3 hour guided tour to get the full horrific story of this concentration camp. So sad but amazing to see and hear the stories. You cannot imagine what it must have been like. The most shocking part for me was seeing the 430,000 shoes of those that died there.

A very powerful and emotional place. Majdanek is preserved with great respect - a heartbreaking reminder of history that should never be forgotten.
Liudmyla Z — Google review
A sad place but a fundamental visit to understand more about this dark moment of our history. The museum is very well preserved and organized. The entrance is free but I would recommend to buy something from the bookstore, to contribute with the conservation. If possible, go on a weekday by morning, it opens 9am and the visit will be not crowded, so you can explore everything in your pace.
Ricardo R — Google review
This is a eye watering place to visit due to the horrendous reasons behind it being there. We entered through the main gate and into the reception, we were then shown on a map whats what and how far it it’s to walk round it , I believe it was 4.6km . Hard to imagine just how hard it must have been but the whole place gives you somewhat of a view into the conditions . The stories you read on the wall again make your heart miss a beat , very very sad place to visit but a must if history and a real look into it is on your to do list.
John-Anthony F — Google review
Plenty of parking and easy to get to. There is a small car park charge but other then that access to the site is free. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking as the camp is fairly large but there are two further mini car parks on the museum site which would cut down the walk.

I loved the place. Don't hesitate to enter the bookstore, where you can get great souvenirs. You can walk and see inside the building without a tax. Get to the top to see the bees and the view from the glass corridor. Enter the galleries and enjoy the art on every corner, on every wall, even hanging from the ceiling.

brand new and unique place where arts are located. Full of extravagant exhibitions, polish cinema, beer pub, Opera hall and amazing rooftop garden with beehives and visitors-friendly bees. We even tried some raspberries on the topfloor. So lovely! Must-visit in Lublin

One of the ugliest buildings in town, I guess it's a great place for theatre and other cultural events but I fail to grasp why they bothered to put it on the tourist map. Couldn't go to the roof, there is no guidance how to get there, maybe it was closed. I liked the photo exhibition with explanations in English. There's a bar here too

Crown Tribunal, located in the heart of Lublin's Rynek, is a Neoclassical structure with a rich history dating back to 1578. Initially established as the highest appeals court in the Polish Kingdom by King Stephen Bathory, it was a gathering place for nobility from across Lesser Poland to resolve legal disputes.
I don't know why it is tagged "Wedding venue". It is such an understatement. It is far more than that. A historical building and cultural heritage is just a beginning.

Renew it. Just renew. The lights highlight the hopelessness of this precious object. We stayed in a great hotel with very soundproof windows. I loved Hotel Trybunalska and Avatar, but watching the police pass people making noise and openly drinking alcohol at seven in the morning when drinking alcohol in public areas in Poland is forbidden was very unpleasant. Double standards.

Shopping
Lublin Plaza Shopping Center is a charming destination located in southeastern Poland, offering a diverse range of retail stores, services, a movie theater, and casual dining options. Situated just minutes away from the Old Town, it provides an opportunity to explore local culture and history. The mall is adjacent to the Center for the Meeting of Cultures and features modern architecture juxtaposed against remnants of an unfinished communist-era theater. Visitors can also admire graffiti dedicated to the Jewish old town's history near the entrance.
Lublin Plaza Shopping Center is a fantastic place for shopping, dining, and relaxing in the heart of Lublin. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the vibrant yet comfortable atmosphere that makes this mall such a great destination for both locals and tourists. The mall features a wide variety of popular international and local brands. Stores like H&M, Reserved, Sephora, TK Maxx, New Balance, Mango, and Empik are all conveniently located, offering something for every kind of shopper—whether you’re looking for fashion, cosmetics, sportswear, books, or lifestyle products. Everything is easy to find, and the layout is clear and pleasant to navigate. One of the highlights was the delightful dessert selection I came across at the pastry stand inside. The cakes and pastries on display were visually stunning and tasted even better. I tried the strawberry brûlée and raspberry cheesecake (sernik z malinami), which were both rich in flavor and beautifully presented. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality. The mall is also well-maintained, clean, and has a modern look. It’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon with friends, some quick shopping, or a sweet treat on the go. I will definitely return whenever I’m in Lublin again. Highly recommended!

It’s a nice mall just behind and across from the old town. Brands you’d expect. Check out the graffiti by the old town path entrance dedicated to the history of the Jewish old town, which was once nearby. That’s the major cultural point of interest.

It is a pretty weird place, it is modern, nice, not to crowded, not too many stores but but the food court is like kinda not from there but some other poor plaza from a different country, the food quality is so so..not to many restaurants, definitely not for vegetarians, the only fine place worth visiting is Costa Coffee, beatlutiful with a nice atmosphere and delicious coffee as usually

Not a Safe Place for Children! We visited the shopping center on August 17th and went to the food court, where our 3-year-old played at the playground located right next to it. Unfortunately, the equipment is in very poor condition—the plywood is chipping off—and our child came out with cuts on his hands. This playground is unsafe for kids, and I strongly urge management to repair it before more children get hurt.

Public swimming pool
Aqua Lublin is a modern aquatic center offering a variety of facilities for the whole family. It features an Olympic-sized pool, saunas with colored lights and music, whirlpool baths, indoor swimming areas, and water play zones. The center also has outdoor pools and rest areas, as well as an outdoor hot tub. Visitors can enjoy two indoor slides and a small dry sauna in the shower area.
Amazing swimming pool that's 50meters and can be divided into 2x25m to accommodate more people. It's also quite deep more than 4m which is why I wouldn't recommend it for people who can't swim. It's so deep actually that when you enter you can gaze on the swimmers through large windows from below. The only downside I could find is the changing room typical for Aqua parks where you have changing rooms in the middle and the lockers further, so you have to carry all your belongings between those. Haven't visited the saunas which have additional fees when using Multisport, but I heard they are quite good so maybe next time.
Maciej P — Google review
Quite a big complex that includes several swimming pools, those just for fun with warm water and deep pools for sport swimming. There is a pool outside, too. Also there are cafes inside. And the complex has a gym and a ice skating ring. Large parking is available and it’s possible to get a discount for it if you register your car number inside at the reception. There are also special discounts for specific time of visit. But! It seems that cleaning isn’t a strong point for this place, especially the parts/tiles of the pool near the glass window (where the circle is) and such. You can see the same garbage there and dust any time you come, which is not very pleasant for sure.
Anya N — Google review
I visited this place at around 14.00 08 March 2024. One of my expectations was to have an opportunity to use olympic pool. As it is shown on the picture it was claimed to be available. In reality all tracks were reserved by different groups and I wasn't able to use the pool. In my view, someone should be responsible for providing up to date information for the customers or to keep tracks available for common use if they announce so. The place is far from being cheaper than others and this incompetence is undoubtedly annoying. Don't recommend. I will never visit again.

The Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva Synagogue is a significant site in Lublin, Poland, known for its connection to Jewish culture and history. The yeshiva complex includes a historic cemetery related to the Holocaust and a museum that tells the story of the institution's experience during that time. The synagogue, completed in 1930 as part of the yeshiva complex, served both religious and educational purposes before being vandalized by Nazis during World War II.
Interesting to see the interior that was renovated and redone of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva. It’s available to tour between 7pm and 10pm and is complimentary for hotel guests, otherwise it’s 20 zloty per person.

Beautiful how this famous Yeshiva is memorialised and lives on in history, a testament to the once strong Yiddishkeit prevalent in Lublin. There is a museum which details the Yeshiva’s history, including old religious books dating to the mid- 19th century. Access is allowed through reception at Hotel Ilan. The cost of 20 zloty is to maintain upkeep of the synagogue and museum. Hotel guests stay free.

Absolutely disgusting. After millions of Jews murdered in the Holocaust we have to pay to enter the synagogue and cemetery that once belonged to us. All we ask is to watch our suitcases while we visit the graves of our ancestors. They say luggage storage is for guests only. Just pathetic.
Jesse B — Google review
The Synagogue in Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva is a synagogue located in Lublin, Poland, in the building of Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva. The synagogue was completed in 1930 along with the rest of the complex of the Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva. Apart from religious functions, it was used as a lecture hall for the yeshiva , having been able to seat over 200 students. During the Second World War, the building was vandalized by the Nazis, and all of the contents were damaged or dispersed. After the war, the building of the yeshiva was taken over by the Medical University of Lublin. The room of the synagogue was redecorated and adjusted to needs of the University. The colouring of walls and columns was changed, and the windows located on the Eastern wall were bricked up. The synagogue, having an area of 200 square metres (2,153 sq ft) is within the second and third floor levels in the southern wing of the building. The main prayer room has a section for women, which has an entrance at the third floor. A separate staircase leads to the platform. It is based on 8 green, round Corinthian columns, placed on three sides of the room.

One star for lack of professionalism, this was included in the Lublin tourist card but when I showed the lady my card she spoke in Polish and pointed to the sign asking for money. Now the fee is very small but it makes no sense to pay twice. Schedule is wrong too, they close at 4 not 5 as per Google, sometimes even earlier The exhibition is nothing much, some random objects connected to the city, the highlight is the view from the tower
Klaus W — Google review
A small museum, but I like it. There's a bunch of images and paintings and some objects from Lublins history. Sadly there's very little information written. Most information is in Polish and English. Free entry on thursdays Nice view from the top of the building, over the entire city.

This museum is more about showing random things related to Lublin. There’s no actual cards giving you a history of the city. It would be great if they added this to give an overview of the city’s history. It’s probably better to hire a guide than to do a self-guided tour. One positive is that it’s in the Brama Krakowska tower so you get a nice view of the city.

(Translated by Google) I've been coming for years, but this year's carnival was a disgrace. The performances were reduced, with more and more paid events every year, and even the music tent required an additional fee. The circus town was stripped down, with nothing to see or do. The performances were very poor quality; you really had to look for the circus. And this event definitely shouldn't be called the Magicians' Carnival, because you can find them on the fingers of your hand. Solo artists from outside the program put on much better shows, and they were horribly chased away. Seriously, it was a carnival of street people, chased away by the organizers. The cherry on top was the "spectacle" at Litewski Square. Encouraged by the beautiful description, we waited in the rain, and it was definitely a waste of time. It's a shame that the carnival would call it a "spectacle." There are many words that come to mind after that "performance," but I don't want to use them publicly. Either way, people left embarrassed and disgusted, and above all, that shouldn't have happened at the Carnival of Magicians. What a waste of time... It was definitely below par. O wiele lepsze widowiska robili solowi artyści spoza programu, którzy o zgrozo bywali przeganiani. Wstyd, żeby karnawał nazywał to "widowiskiem". Jest wiele słów, które przychodzą mi na myśl po tym "występie", ale nie chcę ich używać publicznie. Tak czy siak ludzie odchodzili zażenowani i zniesmaczeni, a przede wszystkim tego nie powinno być na Carnavale Sztukmistrzów. Szkoda zmarnowanego czasu... Było to zdecydowanie poniżej jakiejkolwiek skali.

(Translated by Google) The sheer number of people demonstrates how much we crave summer, urban attractions. Unfortunately, the CS completely wastes this potential. Performances organized at street level, without any stage or elevated platform, block everyone's view and completely obscure everything. Ticketed performances (a circus tent) partially solve the visibility problem, but unfortunately, the quality of these performances is very poor. Furthermore, it's outrageous that after a five-second search online, I found the same performance being performed in Wrocław – tickets cost 10 PLN, while Lublin costs 40 PLN. Bravo, you guys! Lublin 40zł --> No braw wy :) .

Lublin, a captivating city in eastern Poland, is a treasure trove of history and culture. It seamlessly blends the past with the present, offering an array of attractions for visitors. From private events to alternative music experiences, this city has something for everyone. The underground scene here is vibrant, featuring unique events with postpunk and darkwave vibes. The artistry on display is mesmerizing, illuminated by black lights that create an unforgettable ambiance.
This is a great place for alternative music. The events they have are awesome with everything you would expect from a postpunk or darkwave atmosphere. The paintings are incredible with the black lights and worth the trip even if you are not into the music. The small bar offers two beers on tap and many others by bottle. A small selection of liquor will get you through if you have the need for a simple cocktail. The cozy venue offers a terrace and traditional Jewish decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu features a variety of Ashkenazi kosher dishes, including fish, soups, meat dishes, and desserts.
Tucked away in the heart of Lublin’s Old Town, Mandragora Żydowska Restauracja feels like stepping into a warm, intimate corner of history. The delicate lace tablecloths, antique-style furniture, and soft lighting create a sense of being welcomed into someone’s home rather than a restaurant. What makes this place truly special is how it blends atmosphere with meaning. As you sit surrounded by books like The Lost World of Polish Jews and guides to Jewish landmarks, it becomes clear that this isn’t just a culinary experience—it’s also a quiet tribute to a culture once so vibrant in this city. The ambiance invites reflection, while the flavors bring comfort. The dishes are rich and full of character—from the creamy, traditional beef in horseradish sauce to the beautifully roasted meat with orange glaze and aromatic herbs. Each plate is presented with care, accompanied by fresh bread or perfectly matched garnishes. Paired with a glass of white wine, the meal becomes a slow, soulful journey. Mandragora is more than just food; it’s storytelling through cuisine. It allows you to taste the legacy of Jewish life in Poland, not as a museum piece, but as something living, warm, and heartfelt. A rare and beautiful experience that lingers far beyond the final bite.

Their food was excellent and portions were big. Excellent value for money. We took the duck, dumplings, liver, and a selection of starters. Enjoyed every minute. The garden is lovely and the inside has a nice historical vibe.

An overall amazing experience. A Lublin local in Warsaw told me that if I ever saw a Jewish restaurant in Lublin that I must eat there and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and reminded me of Kosher restaurants in the USA. I am glad that what we have in the US is authentic. The service was so good and attentive. I felt like I was in a flashback eating here. Definitely recommend.

This is a restaurant that gave me two new experiences. First, it allowed me to experience goose food for the first time. Second, I ordered a cold drink for the first time, but it allowed me to experience a lukewarm drink without ice. When you order, be sure to ask if there is ice in the cold drink.

The food was amazing!✨️ We ordered: salt beef (fantastic! you have to ordet it if you're here), fried liver with button mushrooms in wine and honey (if you like liver you'll love this), carp fillet made seasoned with Israeli mix of herbs (carp has a specific taste so it may not be 100% for everyone but if you like it you'll like this one), tartar (amazing, very fresh) and lastly grilled chicken breast with potatoes and salad (10/10). The vibe is amazing, the place is very pleasant and they also sell delicious bread there you can take home. If you are in Lublin and you're looking for a place yo eat go there wou won't be diasspointed🫶🏻✨️

Great restaurant, not only for the food but also we learned quite a lot about jewish culture thanks to the menu and the little notes there. Felt very authentic and welcoming. Food was super good and the atmosphere especially in the courtyard was so cosy. We had dinner there and I think spent almost 2 hours. The service was attentive at first, but eventually became more random (eg they forgot our dessert and didn’t come to offer new drinks when old ones were finished).
Piia Õ — Google review
Disappointing experience. Lower lvl was loud from distorted concert upstairs only alternative was a outside/patio. Crepes with haring appetizer were excellent except for being oversalted. Latte was about 45 degree Celsius. Duck dish had many flaws main one everything lacking salt which was especially bad combined with sweet flavors everything also lacked complexity, luckily there were a few unplucked thyme stems for decoration. Worth exploring if you have the money and thyme (I'm Funny) but I wouldn't recommend if you want to be confident you will get a good meal.

Bosko - Lody Produkcji Własnej is a popular ice cream shop in Lublin, Poland, with multiple locations throughout the country. The most well-known branch is situated near the entrance to the old town and frequently has a line on sunny days. One customer had a mix-up when ordering two cones with different flavors, but the friendly service quickly rectified the mistake. The ice cream itself was delicious, and the staff's English proficiency surpassed their knowledge of Polish.
Variety of interesting flavours, not artificial. Flavours change as and when they run out, always a queue but moves quickly! Different cone choices at a small charge or pots also available. Quick and friendly service, definitely recommend! I’ve loved their mango, earl grey tea, cini minis and kinder Bruno flavours the most! Great portion sizes at a great price!

I love this place! Incredibly huge choice of ice cream tastes. Everyone will definitely find something that will suit the taste. Today my choice was Cheesecake with raspberry 🤤 It was perfect. Delicious mix of sweet ice cream and tangy raspberry. Taste of fresh raspberry at winter is so refreshing. It’s a very popular place. Even on Wednesday’s afternoon here were so many people, that I had to wait for someone to leave the table. So you should be ready for bustling atmosphere here and have enough patience for waiting. It’s perfect place to pop with your family and children during your walk at weekends. Or for foodies who want to eat good-quality ice cream 🍨

The best ice cream I've ever had in all of Poland, and I've tried a lot of ice cream here. As an Italian, I would say this is the best place to enjoy ice cream and have an espresso. Not to mention, it's the tastiest and most affordable espresso I've found in Poland.

Quite a nice place with 2 floors. There is a choice of ice-cream and different sweets including cinnamon rolls which are very good. Ice-cream is good, too. In case you can’t go upstairs there are couple of tables on the first floor. You need to order downstairs at the cash desk.

Best icecreams. Only for taking icecream here, its worth visiting Lublin. I have not seen such a crowd in any icecream shop. Bosko has other items, but icecreams are the most popular. As it coffee cup reads, jokosc wymaga pasji, quality requires passion. True, without being passionate, Bosko did not only achieve the quality, but being continuously passionate, it is always ensuring the quality. Hats off.

Sights & Landmarks
The Jewish Cemetery in Lublin, Poland is a significant historical site. It is the oldest Jewish necropolis in the country and holds great cultural and religious importance. The Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin, once a renowned Rabbinical College, is also located nearby. The cemetery was established outside the city after burials were banned in 1792, but it was destroyed during the German occupation in 1939.
To access the cemetery you can get keys from the Hote Ilan (Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin). Unfortunately the cemetery was plowed over by the Nazis, so all the graves in the cemetery are postwar. There are a few memorials. Note that if you are looking to visit Rabbi Tzadok Hacohen, or Rabbi Avraham and Leibele Eiger's grave, you need to walk alongside the new outer gate from the inside until you reach the end.

The Sports Centre - Recreation University of Life Sciences is a fantastic destination for swimming enthusiasts. While the gym is available, many visitors are drawn to the swimming pool area. The facility features a large pool divided into two sections: one dedicated to sports with ample lanes and another recreational section that includes fun amenities like jacuzzis and a slide. However, it can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours or when families with children visit.
Nice. I was going here for a swimming.
Rahim A — Google review
There's a gym too but I only visited the swimming pool area. The swimming pool is not that big and a bit crowded. You need to visit in hours of less traffic to enjoy it. Apart from it there's a big recreational pool with extra features which gets crowded only when children visit. The place is very nice safe and clean but a little pricy for example when you need more time to dry your hair. Important point: they want you to wear a swimming cap but some people don't follow this regulation. So either the regulation is not respected to the letter or there are double standards and some guests simply don't have to

My only concern is the cleanliness of the footbath. Hair dryers are also available (I recommend bringing your own). Overall, it's okay. Come all the way from the UK with my friend who moved from Poland 2009. When we came to visit for a holiday the lakes were a massive attraction to us. Anyway, after arriving at the water park on Tuesday which was the hottest day we were here, we walk across the the park as the signage was poor to find that we had to access at another entrance. We got to the other entrance where there was still poor signage about opening times etc….we then asked a member of staff and found out that the water park is only open on the weekend. Website says open 11-7 nothing saying about weekends! Unfortunately we’re only here for 4 days so we won’t be here at the weekend so the one thing we wanted to we can’t because of their poor information. We go to get a drink at the bar to drown our annoyed mood and they only serve beer….which they had also ran out of!

The Dominican Abbey, also known as the Dominican Basilica and Monastery, is a must-see attraction in Lublin. This grand building, located at the end of an alley in the Old Town, is one of the oldest structures in the city. Although it was initially founded in the 14th century and later ruined in 1575, extensive renovations have transformed it into a stunning example of Baroque architecture.
One of the oldest building in Lublin) It was founded in the first half of 14th century but, unfortunately, the church was ruined in 1575. The next several years was devoted to the renovation of the building. It became a good example of Baroque. The church looks much more better inside than outside. Nestled in the heart of Lublin, Dom Słów, or the House of Words, is a captivating destination that celebrates the art of printing and literature. This unique institute not only showcases quirky exhibitions centered around graphic and illustrative art but also emphasizes the significance of free speech and Poland's journey from socialism to democracy. Visitors can immerse themselves in its rich history while exploring various displays that promote reading and a love for books.
Remarkable place, a must go when in Lublin. It is not exactly a museum, but a printing place that is still operational so the only way to visit is by a guided tour. There's one available in English but check the schedule. That being said, I was alone with the guide who, nonetheless, dedicated about 40 minutes to presenting the story of the typography mixed up with the history of illegal printing during the commies and the whole Samizdat literature. I learned a lot from this visit about the technical aspects of traditional printing, making paper, book bindings etc. Highly recommend this, the staff is very professional and knowledgeable and the guide was clearly good with explaining everything. Although I was alone he even offered to answer more questions at the end and he was very receptive to my questions during the tour Big thank you!!

This place is so much more than just a museum. It's a real deal. Not only does it have an intriguing history which you can hear from a knowledgeable guide. It's where art is born. Watching the process and getting familiar with the techniques is a unique experience. The attention they give to their visitors is extraordinary! The tickets are to cheap though :D

Brilliant place and highly recommended! We were amazed when we got a tour! The history of the place is very much worth knowing! Worth visiting and we will come back in some time to check how the place develops. They have some workshops on operating the old printing presses or making paper among the others. Nestled in the heart of Lublin, the Stone of Misfortune is steeped in local folklore and carries a reputation that makes it a must-see for adventurous travelers. According to legend, touching this stone can lead to a string of bad luck, with many tales recounting unfortunate events that befell those who dared to make contact. While some visitors have playfully tested their fate—like one traveler who touched it without immediate consequence—the warnings remain strong: steer clear!
Visited this place in March 2024. Thought to take my chances and touch the stone... nothing happened to me so far :) On a serious note however, it comes with a great urban legend, and is kind of tricky to stumble on it :)

Historical landmark
Lublin Goat is a popular attraction located at the corner of Krakowskie Przedmiescie and Wroblewskiego streets. It serves as a drinking water fountain and is shaped like a goat, providing refreshment and photo opportunities for visitors. This monument holds historical significance as it symbolizes the city of Lublin. Additionally, there's another similar point near the Krakow Gate where visitors can relax on benches or enjoy coffee from nearby cafes.
The Lublin Goat Fountain is a charming and quirky city feature located at the corner of Krakowskie Przedmieście and Wróblewskiego streets. Shaped like a goat, this small drinking water fountain offers both refreshment and a fun photo opportunity for passersby. While it may look like just a cute sculpture, the goat holds deep symbolic meaning in Lublin’s history. According to legend, during a Tatar invasion, only one goat survived the destruction. Its milk helped feed the city’s children, and the story so moved King Władysław Łokietek that he granted Lublin city rights and placed the goat in the city’s coat of arms. The fountain is a modern nod to this legend – a blend of utility, folklore, and public art. It’s a great little stop during a walk down Krakowskie Przedmieście, especially on a warm day.

(Translated by Google) Ku Farze Street was originally one of the few intra-block passages within the Old Town. This passage was bricked up in the 18th century during the expansion of the tenement house at 14 Grodzka Street. It was restored in 1954. It was then that the street was given its current name. It is believed that in the 16th century, on the site of the current buildings, there was a wooden, shingled, one-story house. It was here that on the night of May 7, 1575, a violent fire broke out and almost completely destroyed Lublin.

Lublin Castle, a 12th-century fortress transformed into a museum, offers free entrance to its captivating exhibits. The museum showcases an array of artifacts including tapestries, weapons, paintings, icons, furniture and coins. Visitors can admire the impressive frescoes in the chapel and explore both temporary and permanent exhibitions. The castle's stone watchtower provides stunning panoramic views of the city. Additionally, it features special amenities such as elevators for accessibility and storage space for jackets and bags.

Excellent exhibitions, including history related to living in Lublin area throughout the centuries, big numismatic collection, and very interesting temporary art exhibition dedicated to women's art from 1850 - 1950 plus exhibition of art of Tamara Lempicka. Highly recommended.

A place surely worth visiting. Plus: - beautiful view over the old town, great view at the church. - a nice shop at the top! With little cakes, which were delicious. - collection of various statues, instruments and a little sacramental coffin that, in the past, was being displayed in the church to remind people of their mortality. Minus: - the wooden steps are narrow and there is no control over the sequence of going up/down. There’s been moments of just passing by other people, which was uncomfortable, when it get crowded. I think they should keep people from walking in at the doors until at least half of the crowd goes down.

Nice place for relaxation and long walks. There is a large free parking in front of the main gates. The entrance fee is 16, reduced price is 9. The paths go up and down all the time, so take this into consideration if it’s hard for you to walk. In the middle of the garden there are 2 ponds with ducks and ducklings. There are many types of trees, bushes and flowers blooming at different times. A little bit of everything! We came in spring, so quite a few plants were in bloom! There are benches to sit and rest/relax. You can also grab something to eat in the local cafe which offers tasty grilled sausages, fries, beverages and ice-cream. The botanic garden also has tropical plants to see in the green house, but it’s open only Mon thru Friday from 10am to 2pm, so keep this in mind when planning your visit. Definitely planning to go back. The main paths are the best to walk as they are better maintained then the side ones.

Lovely botanical garden with visitor friendly maps and items. Clean, well kept flora and pathways divided into regional and thematic sections. Perfect for a family hike or a quiet afternoon. Central bathrooms and cafe with coffee, beer, and snacks. Cafe area overlooks lake with long views. Nice for birding and exploring - just big enough to contain mysteries, but small enough to not be exhausting. Great value for the entrance fee. The ducks are quite friendly.

One of the biggest Botanical Gardens I've ever seen in Poland. We've arrived there in September so might not be the best time to go and see blossoming flowers and all those trees. But it was worth of it. It may take you more or less 90 min to see around. If you are a kind of person who like to take plenty of photos, it may take youu even more. Entrance fee is quite cheap and affordable. They also have discount for students. There's a lake inside the the park and also a place where you can go and grab or drink sth. In the time I went there, this place was closed but I assume it should be open during the season. I completely recommend you to see that beautiful place especially if you are a person who likes they nature.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful monument depicting Józef Piłsudski on a horse, next to the monument to the unknown soldier. One of the most distinguished Poles, appreciated and respected. He had a huge influence on the shape of the internal and foreign policy of the Second Polish Republic. (Original) Piękny pomnik przedstawiający Józefa Piłsudskiego na koniu, przy pomniku nieznanego żołnierza. Jeden z najbardziej zasłużonych Polaków, doceniany i szanowany. Miał ogromny wpływ na kształt polityki wewnętrznej i zagranicznej II RP.

(Translated by Google) The Józef Piłsudski Monument in Lublin is one of those places definitely worth seeing while visiting Litewski Square. The monument was unveiled on November 10, 2001, and was designed by Jan Raszka in 1937. Initially planned to be erected before World War II, historical events prevented the project from being realized for decades. It wasn't until the early 21st century that it was finally realized. Quotes from Piłsudski are inscribed on the plinth, encouraging reflection on patriotism, responsibility, and the significance of the past. These are not just decorative maxims, but messages that are still relevant today, provoking a moment of reflection. The monument embodies the cityscape not only as a tourist attraction, but above all as a symbolic place—a reminder of the values that shaped Polish history. It's definitely worth visiting, pausing for a moment, and considering this place not only as a work of art but also as a vehicle for important ideas. (Original) Pomnik Józefa Piłsudskiego w Lublinie to jedno z tych miejsc, które zdecydowanie warto zobaczyć, będąc na Placu Litewskim. Monument został odsłonięty 10 listopada 2001 roku i powstał według projektu Jana Raszki z 1937 roku.
(Translated by Google) Interesting shot of the marshal. Wise slogans on the sides of the plinth, especially the one about history. Unfortunately, the character has been problematic lately. As historians have recently argued, we owe little to Piłsudski in regaining independence. This one was won by I. Paderewski, R. Dmowski, General J. Haller, W. Korfanty, W. Witos and representatives of the Regency Council. We owe the victory in the Battle of Warsaw to General T. Rozwadowski and not to the later Commander. Piłsudski's inept leadership caused the Bolsheviks to reach Warsaw. The figure of Piłsudski was created after the May Coup in 1926. Piłsudski wanted to start an uprising in Poland in 1914 and side with Germany. Then there would be no chance for independence. Haller's fighting in France and the victory of the Entente countries made it possible to regain independence. Polish troops participated in the Victory Parade in 1919 in Paris. (Original) Ciekawe ujęcie marszałka. Mądre hasła na bokach cokołu, zwłaszcza to o historii. Niestety, postać ostatnio problematyczna. Jak ostatnio dowodzą historycy to niewiele zawdzięczamy Piłsudskiemu w odzyskaniu niepodległości. Tę wywalczyli I. Paderewski, R. Dmowski, gen.

(Translated by Google) I remember how great adventures took place during the construction of the monument due to the lack of consent from the city architect. The monument refers to standard implementations of this type, i.e. a hero on a horse. Currently, it is the dominant aspect of Litewski Square and is certainly very characteristic. (Original) Pamiętam jak wielkie przygody odbywały się w momencie budowy pomnika, w związku z brakiem zgody architekta miejskiego. The museum is located in a cellar of a tenement building and showcases multimedia displays depicting Lublin's history as well as paintings from the 1500s. The single room in the cellar is adorned with frescoes dating back to the early 17th century, which were rediscovered and restored during the 1930s. Despite its small size, the museum offers an intriguing glimpse into Lublin's past.
It's only one room in a cellar painted with frescoes dating back to the early 17th century. During the 1930s they were rediscovered and restoration efforts began This is a lovely piece of history about Lublin, but the highlight was the explanation given by the lovely girl, in English. She is not only very beautiful, but clearly knows how to do the job and had a wonderful attitude. It's a bit tough to spot, hope my pics help

A small but really well run museum - hard to find - you have to walk through a building, into the courtyard of a cafe, and then you'll see the signs pointing down some stairs. Knowledgeable guide, with lots of interactive displays in English. You won't be blown away, but it is interesting.

(Translated by Google) For me it's a great, brilliant and thought-provoking place! A nice change from visiting museums and churches: the stories presented in these 17th-century frescoes are stories with humor and a moral 😉 Tickets must be purchased in advance online, I highly recommend connecting the Cellar with the entrance to the Imaginarium, which is located next door: the tour takes place with the same guide, after a short break. (Translated by Google) I don't know where such ratings come from, but when I was there it was a bit low. The frescoes can be viewed in one room for PLN 6 per person. Room approximately 5 m2. On the walls there are pictures related to famous works, but only loosely. It's a bit of a bummer for me, but I'm not an art critic. Maybe it's just my luck that only 1 room is available. The lady was rude. I actually have only one question: "Who creates such jobs?" Very fun experience! There was a demonstration with participation from the audience, then everyone made their own mini cebularz (I don’t know how to call this in English!). The staff was great and our 2 year old also had fun. I expected it to be hot inside next to the oven but it felt nice and cool compared to the 30 degrees outside.

This experience is quite silly. Not a muzeum but a commercial venture to extract money from tourists that don't know better. It like the Croissant museum in Poznań which is entertaining for some adolescents but a waste of time and money. You are better off to watch a couple of YouTube videos if you're serious about making these food items.

The Cracow Gate, also known as Brama Krakowska, is a significant Gothic-style landmark in Lublin, Poland. Constructed in the 14th century, it stands as a symbol of the city and connects the City Centre with the Old Town. This historic gate was part of the royal route from Cracow to Vilnius and has served various purposes over time, including defense, fire observation tower, and residence for the clock-master.
Beautiful historic place in the town centre. Definitely worth a visit 👍
Eric P — Google review
As night falls on Lublin, the Brama Krakowska becomes more than just a city gate—it becomes a glowing portal through time. Lit from below and crowned with a timeless clock, the tower stands with quiet strength at the edge of the Old Town, its brick walls bearing witness to centuries of history. I watched as small groups of people walked beneath its archway, silhouettes passing through golden light, as if stepping between eras. The air was still, and the only sound was footsteps on cobblestones. It’s easy to imagine merchants, guards, and townsfolk doing the same hundreds of years ago. Originally part of the medieval city walls, Brama Krakowska was not just a gate but a symbol of protection and connection, linking Lublin with Kraków. Today, it still connects—past with present, and locals with visitors. The contrast between the vibrant nightlife just steps away and the calm majesty of the gate makes the moment feel both alive and timeless. Even without knowing the full story, you feel the significance. It invites you not just to walk through, but to pause, look up, and remember that every brick was placed with purpose—and every passage through it is part of an ongoing story.

Muzeum Zakładu Historii Farmacji is a charming hidden gem in Lublin’s Old Town and absolutely worth a visit. This small, free museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of pharmacy, with beautifully preserved tools, bottles, and displays that capture the essence of old medicinal practices. What makes the visit even more special is the building itself—an intriguing structure formed by the connection of two separate buildings, giving the interior a unique and almost whimsical layout. It’s a quick stop, but a delightful one, perfect for anyone who enjoys history, architecture, or simply discovering lesser-known places in the city.
