Nestled in the scenic Glen Oak Park, Peoria Zoo is a delightful destination for animal lovers and families alike. Established in 1955, this historic zoo spans 14 acres and showcases over 230 animals from more than 100 species worldwide, including some endangered varieties. Visitors can marvel at captivating exhibits like the African area featuring majestic giraffes, lions, and rhinos, as well as the Asian Trail where Siberian tigers roam.
We always stop here on our annual road trips east. Is it's small (compared to what we are used to in Omah), quaint, and fun! My kids love it! We really enjoy the Australian Walkabout with the emu and the wallabies where they are free roaming and the humans are confined to the path. There are numerous opportunities to learn and see a variety of different species. It will continue to be a regular stop for us to enjoy this gem in Peoria.

Not worth the $50 for a family of 5. Half the exhibits were closed. The lighted glow structures were pretty and we were impressed with the white rhinos and tiger. Everything else was lackluster.
AC Q — Google review
So I went to the zoo today I’m in town visiting a friend and relaxing. Had nothing to do this afternoon or this morning so I decided I wanted to go to the zoo. The Peoria zoo allows service animals Myself and my service animal went to the zoo We get there and I can only assume it’s the manager. I don’t know if it was the manager or supervisor, but the gentleman approached me when I came in to the counter to pay for my entry to the zoo and he asked me is this service dog I said she is my service animal due to a medical condition and he looks at me almost like it’s disbelief like he’s like oh are you sure ask me again and I say yes and he’s like then he asked me again and I’m like yes it is my service animal She is a dog. She is here with me because I need her and what she does for me you are causing the issue right now of why she’s about to provide service to me in a moment because he was killing my anxiety. He’s like well. I have people that come in all the time that say their dogs are service dogs and they bark out of control and I kick him out or tell him not to come back and You can pay and if your dog barks or lunges or jump it anyone I’m gonna have you removed from the zoo? I’m like OK fine no problem with that. As I’m thinking of myself like this, dude didn’t have to do all all that some of that is common sense and some of it’s perfectly acceptable to do if someone service dog or ““ service animal supposed is making a disturbance you can ask them to leave if my dog barks or does anything inappropriate you don’t have to ask me to leave. I’m gonna feel embarrassed and humiliated. I’m gonna leave myself and take my dog with me But all the while I’m thinking to myself like dude you asked me what you’re allowed to ask me now you can ask me the other two questions that you’re allowed to ask me, but please stop trying to insinuate that you don’t believe my dog is a service animal and you’re trying to give me The opportunity to back out of it We spent a couple hours in your facility, walking around seeing all the animals that were out. My dog encountered a tiger didn’t make a peep. My dog saw rhino didn’t make a peep. My dog saw a giraffe walk right up to her at the window and stare at her and look, and my dog didn’t make a peep. All the students that were there all the kids that were there for the day my dog didn’t lunch out or pull out or try and get it any of them So while you were more worried about whether my dog really was a service animal or not when we left, you could’ve come up and said thanks for coming and done something to try and recognize how well-behaved my service animal is all you had to do was simply say something like sorry I hope you didn’t think I was giving you a hard time Something like that just to recognize that but no, you were going more towards the front at the beginning, seeming like you’re trying to assume that my dog is not a real service animal I don’t know why maybe because she’s a smaller dog maybe because she’s a miniature schnauzer and not a larger dog that some people are most people might assume is the service dog I don’t know maybe that’s why Something else that I encountered, there was some of the most polite children that are at the zoo not one time did someone try and come up to touch or distract my dog several of the kids that would walk by would ask me can I pet your dog and I’d say Sorry not now thank you for asking and their parents would even tell them that was a great job you did it asking back home. Everyone just would’ve stuck their hand out at the dog and tried to pet her.

This place doesn’t even deserve any stars. The zoo here is just a big scam and the zootober event was the worse experience ever. They were stingy with the candy, half the food and drinks were expensive too. The “family events” which were just coloring was atleast a little fun, they weren’t too creative with this, I’ve seen school events better than this. Mind you, it’s 15 for each person so it all came up to around 60 there was no price different with kids and adults. The decorations were just giving “I’m too lazy”. I was very upset about this whole thing cause I spent around 63. They also don’t explain enough on the website, like prices of things. If you should bring your own buckets or if they have bags, what type of events they are going to have and so on. The person that wrote out everything about the event was lazy. I wish I could get a refund cause the whole thing was terrible and my siblings were upset.

We went for Fathers and Floats on Fathers Day. We enjoyed the exhibits and clean facilities. We appreciated the warning of the "splash zone" when the lemurs were crossing over the bridge. Not a disappointment, we enjoyed the stay.

What a treasure to our community! ...did you know you can get married here and have your reception?! It is truly one of the most unique places I have photographed. Feeling the giraffes is such a cool memory! I can't wait to be back here photographing weddings!

Its a small zoo but a zoo nonetheless, if you live here with kids its worth it! You can go all year round. Perfect size.

Specialty Museums
Located in Downtown Peoria, the Peoria Riverfront Museum is a multifaceted art and science museum that offers a diverse range of attractions. Affiliated with the Smithsonian Institute, it regularly showcases prized artifacts from the Smithsonian catalogue. The museum features permanent exhibits spanning science and art, including the 1898 Duryea Motor Trap, one of the earliest gasoline-powered cars ever sold. Visitors can also enjoy shows at its giant-screen theater and dome planetarium.
This museum was a fantastic experience!!! Not only were there several wonderful exhibits, including some gorgeously detailed cars, and several art instillations (both professional and folk), but the entrance also included shows at the planetarium! Also, if screens are your thing, they have a theatre with the second largest screen in Illinois! The real treasure, though, were the staff. Multiple guides were present around the exhibits, enriching the experience with many fascinating facts and stories behind particular pieces, and one gentleman in particular guided us through a great deal of artworks, ensuring that we found something entertaining for both the adults and children in our group! I can't thank them enough, as well as everyone who makes that museum possible!!!
Miguel B — Google review
We didn't get to see much because our toddler ended up getting too tired but the staff were super friendly and we saw some gorgeous art. The gift shop was probably my favorite part because they had cello socks. (I got super geeked about that as I am a cello player lol) But they had a wide variety of items from toys and notebooks to magnets and room decor.

Wow, what an incredible experience! My family opted to purchase the pass, which granted us complimentary entry to numerous other museums and science centers. Additionally, we received discounts on tickets to other attractions if the entry fee was free. This trip allowed us to immerse our kids in diverse cultures. From the vibrant car culture, which encompassed various subcultures like bikers, truckers, low riders, and artists of all kinds, to the fascinating planetarium show, we were captivated by the exhibits. We were so impressed that we ended up wanting to watch several more shows. However, I must admit that the lady at the counter was not particularly receptive to our requests. We wanted our daughter to participate in the scavenger hunt, but it seemed like she was having a rough day or perhaps didn’t enjoy her job. Despite this, we managed to get our daughter involved. The gift shop at the museum was also quite extensive and offered a wide range of souvenirs.
Dennis R — Google review
We have a 7-year old, and I wasn’t sure if there would be enough for them to do/keep their attention. We made the decision to go on a free day, and that made all the difference. There were extra activities set up in the lobby geared toward kids. Had we paid for a normal day, I don’t think the regular museum exhibits would have captivated her long enough to justify the admission price. As an adult, there were interesting displays and exhibits. All told, with the lobby “extras” and a planetarium show we watched, we probably spent 3 hours here.
Lisa D — Google review
Tons of fun!! The dinosaur exhibit was very, very cool! We all enjoyed it. I discovered Neil Welliver (artist of the winter landscape) through one of their art displays and he might be a new favourite for me!

Great value! Great exhibits! Some change, while some stay the same. Definitely worth the visit for the whole family! Right now the Titanic Secret Mission is there for the first time anywhere in the world!

I enjoyed world-class art and music at this modern and comfortable cultural venue this past weekend. I recently became a member and look forward to enjoying the accompanying benefits.

Love the Giant Screen...52' high by 70' across! If you haven't seen a movie there, wait no longer, it's an experience you'll remember. We have been attending some excellent movies through the Bradley OLLI classes. We see the other movies offer there too, wonderful selection. The theater seats are very comfortable and the air temperature in the theater is good to,however, bring a jacket just in case. We enjoy a bag of popcorn and a soda. Nice clean restrooms are close by to use before and after your movie. Enjoy!

Located in Downtown Peoria, the Caterpillar Visitors Center is a 50,000 square foot facility dedicated to showcasing the history and rise of Caterpillar, a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. The museum features interactive exhibits, driving simulators, and displays of Caterpillar machinery from vintage to modern.
My almost 2 year old loved this place and threw a whole tantrum when we had to leave. Great for kids of all ages and the gift shop has some pretty fancy items that aren't too pricey. They've also got a great selection of stuff in there from shirts and toys to pocket knives and stress squeeze toys. We came to visit Peoria from Michigan and we have had an absolute blast.

We loved the Caterpillar Visitors Center! I can't get my husband to go to places like this, however, he enjoyed the CAT visitors center very much. He really enjoyed the simulators and seeing the equipment. While I enjoyed the history of Caterpillar. We definitely would recommend.
Jodi W — Google review
The outside of the building is huge and beautifully designed. We were greeted when we walked in. They offered us cookies and coffee, cookies were very good. Seniors were free, we entered with a group of 4H and FAA students. Seating was in the dump bucket of a massive earth mover turned into a movie theater. There are many displays of CAT history. There is a merch store with everything CAT. if you're in the area it's worth seeing.
Lemmie K — Google review
A very interesting visitor center with many interactive activities that appeal to all ages. It is extremely kid-friendly, featuring impressive displays of both equipment and detailed engineering processes. The sheer size of the equipment is truly breathtaking. We definitely recommend a visit for everyone. Key Changes: Added "that appeal to" to connect activities and ages more smoothly. Used "truly" to amplify "breathtaking.

My 9 year old grandson had a great time here! The machines were huge! It was fun trying to do tasks in the simulators.

The Peoria Civic Center is a prominent and spacious venue that has been hosting a wide variety of events and performances for many years. It is home to the Peoria Rivermen ice hockey team and the Bradley University Braves basketball team, making it a popular spot for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, the center features a theater, exhibit hall, and numerous meeting rooms, providing ample space for various types of gatherings.
This is one of the best venues for music. I've seen all sorts of musical acts, the Peoria Rivermen. Tonight was Shinedown with Beartooth. They have returned to Peoria multiple times. The seating is something of the best. The acoustics are awesome, and you get a real show and very intimate performances. It has never disappointed from the pit to the upper decks.

We've been to a lot of events here at the Peoria Civic Center and they never do disappoint! We've been in several different parts of the building seeing different events and honestly we've never even had a bad seat. We've been in the Prairie Home Alliance theater quite a bit and seen a lot of great concerts there. You are able to buy tickets at the box office an hour before the show starts if you didn't buy them online already. Hope you're able to come check out some of the events that they host because I always enjoy the time I'm here! I really miss going to the women's lifestyle show that was discontinued a few years back but we've been to plenty of sales, concerts, car shows, monster truck, plays Etc there are just so many different things going on just get on the website and check it out!

Our first time at the Peoria Civic Center and it's a great place to see a concert or any other venues! We saw headliner Shinedown. Great show, great sound. Would I do it again, yes.
John D — Google review
The arena section is cool. Some decent little food stalls and drink options. Be aware if you're parking in the Marquee area don't expect to get out right away unless you drive aggressive like every other person tries to do. It took about 20-25 minutes to leave because all the cars trying to be bumper to bumper. Everything else was great.
Charlie D — Google review
This place is pretty great to see shows at. We have been a few times and always have a great time! Easy to find your seat, staff friendly and helpful, parking is about a block away and across the street for like $5 so that's not bad at all. Security does a good job too. We have zero complaints and will continue to see our shows here. Great local venue for sure!!
H C — Google review
We've attended many events here from basketball and hockey games to concerts, plays, banquets and now high-school and college graduations. Ample parking, accessible bathrooms, easy to get around inside and out.

With Bradley games and other concerts, I am at the civic center atleast 20 times a year. This place is truly a staple of the community. They have made several improvement to the arena lately.

Stopped here to stretch our legs on a road trip and see a little botanical beauty. We spent probably half an hour touring the green house and grounds. Don't look for extensive collections or a good hiking workout. It's small, but it's free and very nice.

It was a smaller botanical garden but still very much enjoyable.

Nestled between the Illinois River and Downtown Peoria, Forest Park Nature Center is a sprawling 540-acre nature preserve offering a variety of attractions. Visitors can explore over seven miles of hiking and biking trails, observe more than 100 bird species, and visit a natural history museum. The park's diverse scenery includes prairies and woodlands, providing an urban escape for nature enthusiasts. Additionally, the peaceful environment is home to abundant wildlife such as deer, chipmunks, and squirrels.
Really liked this one! They have a choose your own path kind of thing going on. You have a choice every couple of tenths of a mile to decide which way you want to go. Well marked and clean. Some paths more rigorous than others. Also a nature center with plants and stuffed animals. Free!
Christopher B — Google review
First time visiting and the trails are so much fun to walk and look at all the different wildlife and birds! We were able to see many birds and even three deer! There were many squirrels running around as well. Very well, maintain trails and a lot of active people walking them. Need to come back when the nature center is open so that way we can go inside and see what it’s all about. Great for families and everyone of all ages.
Shan B — Google review
On a beautiful sunny day this nature preserve offers plenty of shade under the canopy of the fully grown trees. There is a nice sized parking lot for plenty of cars, but I would not try to pull an RV or Semi in there. It is wheelchair friendly nature center and park, but the trails may be tricky. Some trails have stairs and uneven pathways. The nature center is smaller, but full of interesting facts about indigenous animals. There even have a few on display! They hold some different classes and guided hikes at times. There is a bathroom and gift shopping with snacks inside. The trails are well marked and there is a map at the beginning of the trail. They have light, medium l, and rigorous trail paths depending on the level you would like to walk. There is plenty of wildlife out there. Just make sure to stay on the trail and leave the wildlife alone. The location is convenient and quiet. So enjoy the serene nature around you.
Nicole B — Google review
This is a beautiful place to hike or just enjoy some peaceful time outdoors. Hiking trails are excellent and very well-maintained, and are challenging enough to get a solid workout. This is a true gem around Peoria!
FFKDTP1 — Google review
First time hiking a trail here. We did the Pimiteoui trail (NOTE: IT'S ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE PARKING LOT AT THE NATURE CENTER SO YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR IT) and it was challenging but stunning. It's not straight up. It's up and down in both directions. Very well maintained but keep an eye out for poison ivy. My watch calculated 640 ft of climb and a little over 2.5 miles round trip on the route we took. There appeared to be several side trails but we didn't explore them. Next time we'll try a couple and see where they end up. When the trees have leaves, 80% of the trail is shaded. Bring water no matter what time of year and make sure you don't need a bathroom. When you get to the top, you're on Grandview Drive which is where the photos were taken. Great spot to enjoy the view on a bench and chug some water. I wouldn't hike the day after a rain because the trail would definitely be slippery. We met a few other hikers going both directions but this was on a Friday around noon. I imagine you'll encounter quite a few others on the weekends or holidays. If you don't want something this challenging, they have several other trails that are rather flat but you won't get the reward of an amazing view of Peoria Lake.
Kyley O — Google review
Such a beautiful park. I’ve been here countless times and have loved every experience. This is a well taken care of nature preserve. Because it’s a nature preserve, no pets are allowed. There are lots of deer, chipmunks, turkey, and other kinds of birds. There are multiple trails to choose from and they are well marked. I love to come here to photograph birds and deer especially. And if you listen to anything I say, come here in the fall!!
Elayna T — Google review
Absolutely love the trails here, trails for every level of fitness and I always see wildlife! So many deer! Go on a weekday if you want to see them 😉

Best part of all, dogs are prohibited!!!! Beautiful, scenic park. Extremely well maintained trails. Fun for kids to explore the area. The volunteers in the Nature Center were very friendly and helpful. Parking was adequate when we got there, but by the time we left, it was packed. Recommend getting their early on nice weather days.

In addition to adult productions, there are also two annual children's productions and a summer workshop for young people aged 7 to 18.
My husband and I went to see the wonderful production of Mousetrap at Cornstock last night. The actors did a fabulous job. I loved how the show started promptly on time and there's really no bad seat in the house. The set was fantastic as well. This was our first time attending a show, but we will certainly be back for future shows!

Went to see the Sinatra outdoor summer showcase on Friday night and it was absolutely amazing! It lasted around 2 hours but only felt like 45 minutes! My boyfriend loves Sinatra, as do I, and he said that this was the most realistic performance he’s heard and it was very impressive. The singers were so talented, I haven’t heard such good voices live in forever! We loved it so much and will probably be seeing this same performance again! Highly recommend!!

VERY cool & interesting place to see!! I was new in town and wanted to see the city, was recommended This house and to take the tour. The tour guides were So incredibly nice and well versed. The house is Beautiful. And the staff went Above & Beyond to make me feel welcomed. It was such a fun experience I HIGHLY recommend 10/10

We hosted a Bridal Brunch here in the late fall, approx 25 people. It was a wonderful location, the guests enjoyed the atmosphere and they all appreciated a brief tour of the house - which has amazing history. The volunteers of the House Museum were incredible and made hosting so easy, helping us with set up and clean up. Would absolutely use again in the future.

Laura Bradley Park, established in 1864, is a large natural area spanning 100 acres. It was a generous gift to the city of Peoria from Lydia Moss Bradley in honor of her daughter. Adjacent to Bradley University, this park offers diverse attractions such as sports facilities, play equipment, and an off-leash dog park. The landscape features high bluff woodlands and a traditional Japanese garden.
Beautiful place to walk, swing, observe wildlife, & be in awe of nature. Cool bridge over water & plentiful parking. It's got a disk golf course too! The bathrooms are a little uncomfy but if you don't mind that, you could spend all day there! (There's a more private bathroom w small stalls on the upper level by the theater i believe) They take gazebo reservations i think, too.
Naomi — Google review
A wonderful place to enjoy nature. It’s got great changes in elevation, different kinds of wildlife like deer, fox, many types of birds, and our favorite: groundhogs. We love walking our dog all around. Also the frisbee golf course and the corn stock theater, dog park and lots of picnic areas, sand volleyball, baseball diamonds etc.
Nilesh T — Google review
This park is HUGE! there's multiple playgrounds, tennis courts, trails, all kinds of things. There are multiple ways in, lots of parking. Two dog parks are way in the back (to the right). There's a huge area for big dogs with toys and a smaller area for little dogs. Both dog parks have benches and a water bowl for dogs with a way to fill it. There are poop bags supplied. Beautiful architecture is throughout the park with Japanese style arches.

Great for families, students, groups, dog owners, sports, picnics, photo ops etc. It’s a big place with many different paths, play grounds, picnic areas, dog park, hammocking spots. Just keep watch cause its a big frolfing course too, so there’s usually a frisbee coming from some direction. And the squirrels are Disney level friendly

The market was lively with various vendors scattered about. There were vegetable booths, pastry booths, coffee places, dog food/treat boothes, meat vendors, and various homemade items. Personally, I really enjoyed the breakfast burrito booth. It had chorizo, egg, potatoes, and cheese. Was warm and tasty. There crowd there was diverse with older, like me, and college aged shoppers walking around. I parked across the street in the museum parking garage.

Great golf course for the money. Drove three hours to play this course. Picturesque, great fairways and greens. It’s spectacular if you love golf and challenging. Restaurant has good food. Nice course with a little bit of old school and modern feel to it. Hole 12 was dope! Restaurant was great and decently priced. Only reason for 4 stars is because it was $80 to play lol. I would definitely play it again tho! Great time!

My first time golfing here since I was a kid. I didn’t appreciate it as much then. My favorite course in the area is Metamora Fields, their sister course, but I think it’s now tied with Weaver Ridge. We played a twilight round. Conditions were great. Scorable course and a great time!
Nolan G — Google review
Played on Saturday afternoon at a reasonable rate. But was disappointed by the course. No water on the course, no beverage cart, huge divots in fairways and burned out areas on tee boxes, fairways and greens. Poor signage was also an annoyance. All in all, won't be our first choice next time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tower Park – Peoria Heights Tower Park is such a hidden gem in Peoria Heights! 🌳✨ Whether you’re visiting for the panoramic views or just looking for a peaceful place to unwind, this park delivers a perfect blend of beauty, history, and charm. The highlight is definitely the observation tower — standing at over 200 feet tall, it gives you a stunning 360° view of the Illinois River Valley, the city skyline, and miles of lush countryside. It’s especially breathtaking around sunset when the sky lights up over the water. 🌅 The surrounding park area is clean, well-maintained, and ideal for families or couples. In addition to transportation history, visitors can explore exhibits featuring toys, bicycles, musical instruments, clocks, tools from various eras and vintage clothing.
Thank you so much to Bill S. for giving us a tour! The museum is a lot larger than it appears from the roadside with plenty to explore. Vintage cars, clocks, machinery, farm equipment, fire department equipment, models of riverboats, and much more. This was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back to explore again.

Clocks collection is beautiful. Enjoyed the visit.

This is a must visit spot for something fun, interesting and different for the whole family. My 4yr old grandson had a blast. So much to do and see. We were there 3hrs and he didn't want to leave. Train, museum, interactive toys/displays/machines, pedal cars/tractors...Super friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!!!
Jennifer K — Google review
Nearly everything inside the museum not only works, but they encourage you to touch and experience. Kudos to the team of people that undoubtedly keep up on repairs and maintenance of all the treasures within so that future guests can enjoy and experience. A friend and I went together and we had so much fun, I will return and recommend!! The one notable thing I was disappointed to see was no fire sprinkler systems anywhere, and I only recall seeing one fire extinguisher in a conspicuous location. It worries me because obviously there is a ton of old and cool stuff, with many, many, many little wires of power supplied to it all so that it functions. I kept thinking that a single spark could ignite the whole place and this gem would be gone from Peoria. Bonus feature - the steel house was such a fun and interesting exhibit, that after our visit we went in search of other existing steel houses in Peoria Heights and were ecstatic when we found 5 of them!

The no coolers and no wagons is ridiculous on 90 plus temperature days. It's a nice facility but it's not fan friendly for that reason. Also been going for 6 plus years and not 1 new hotel has been added nearby. Big thumbs down on that too.
H S — Google review
Well I was not there but I was watching a game on GameChanger and it ended with the home team at bat, down two runs with no outs. I was told it was a showcase so that was the rule. So, I would like to ask whomever came up with those rules to consider, why they made up this rule? and what does it benefit? Also what is this teaching? I express this because if the game was to end correctly I wouldn’t have so many questions!
Jason R — Google review
The complex is nice but they are getting out of hand with costs and rules. The stay to play guidelines put our team in the Hilton Embassy which was a terrible experience. The group rate was $300/night and the hotel is in subpar condition. The hotel management his not accommodating at all for the groups they are hosting. The Louisville complex is almost completely cashless but imposes a processing fee to use your card. After all the other fees it's was $13 per day for each adult or $23 each for the weekend plus a swipe fee. It costs my family $700 this weekend to stay to play and we were forced to spend a night confined to our rooms because of an issue at the hotel with another parent and the hotel staff. Would not recommend Louisville slugger and most certainly wouldn't stay at Hilton Embassy in East Peoria.

Nice facility. Pretty expensive to get in. Main complaint is not letting coaches have wagons. They could give a coach a tag to put on wagon and check it before entry. They have a lot of equipment and sometimes have to park pretty far away. Carrying buckets, tees, heavy’s and whatever else they have plus if they have kids or husbands/wife’s then they have chairs etc. Louisville is not very accommodating. I understand it letting everyone have wagons but head coach should be able to get a tag and be allowed 1 wagon per team.

I had a laughingly great time at the Jukebox. Heath Thornton open the show and knocked it out of the park. Great host. Followed by a hilarious comedian Rafe Williams who I plan to see in April. You can’t forget the closer - the excellent, Todd Barry. I’m not sure why, but this was the first time I’ve ever been to the jukebox and I will be back many many more times. The ambience of the jukebox comedy club is unmatched. Thank you so much, Dan, for a great time!

To be clear, we did have a fun night, and it was only $15 per ticket. When you drive up and walk in, there is a bit of a "what is going on here?" feeling. Luckily, we had seen pictures on google and have a pretty good sense of adventure so we weren't bothered too much by this. There is definitely a musty smell, the ceiling tiles are sagging and stained in places. I don't think they have updated since they opened in the 90's. But, it seemed tidy, wiped down, etc. I used the bathroom a couple times and they were clean and well lit, just utilitarian at best. Once they find your name on the online order list - they give you these re-used tickets which likely is not a necessary step since they had our name on a card at the table anyway. The lady who sat us also was the server - she had a little hand drawn map of the seating. The beers were only a few bucks, like $3 maybe? The owner started out cracking a few little jokes and talking up the performers, then I think 6 openers came on? The first performer ended up also being the emcee for the evening, and there were a whole spread of different local comics, some decent, some who were not so great. But the headliner was good and we had several good laughs throughout the whole evening. The owner and bartender who were in the front bar serving drinks were very friendly/sassy/funny and also added to the experience before the show started. The show started at 8, and ended at 10. The first few acts did about 5-10 minute sets each, and the last one was about half an hour or so? There was food, and by food I think just popcorn and frozen pizza. A lot more people than I expected were ordering the frozen pizza. For us, we thought it was worth the money, and the whole experience was, well, an experience.

Jacob J — Google review
Review Date: August 22nd, 2013 Unlike the comedy club, there will be no jokes in this blog post. Just kidding. What kind of post would this be if I didn’t incorporate my light-hearted humor? A rather dull one, that is. On this humor-filled night, my friends invited me to a show in which they had an extra ticket. After visiting the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Columbus, OH, I knew I couldn’t turn it down. The comedian for the night was Brett Erickson. He was doing some farewell shows to Peoria before he moved out to Vegas or California to try his luck out there. His routine was very casual and hilarious. He wasn’t setting up long gags or made up stories. The jokes he told were unique and sometimes he made fun of Central Illinois, which got the crowd laughing. My friends and I left the club with a big smile on our face and our sides hurting from laughing so much. Since this one show, I’ve gone back to another show with another friend and had just as much fun. As for refreshments and food, I do know they serve alcohol as I got beer the first time I came here. I believe they have a small food menu but don’t quote me on that. It has been a few years since I’ve been here. The parking lot is small and on a crowded night, I could see it causing some issues if you don’t get there early. But I do believe there is additional parking at the strip club next door. Yes, there is (or was, I don’t know if it is still there) a strip club next to this club. If you are lucky, you may catch the comedian outside the club after the show is over. We got to meet Brett Erickson after my first visit there. You can also meet some of the local comedians who show up to do open stage. One of my friends does open stage and loves it. If you are a bit strapped for cash, the comedy club also offers Birthday Special shows where you can get in free if its your birthday month. You’ll have to check the website to see which shows are free and if they offer any additional discounts. Peoria can be a drab. Central Illinois can be a bore. If you need a night out and a stitch in your side from laughing so much, swing by the Jukebox to scratch that itch. Joke time! Where does a king keep his armies?…. In his sleevies! What is brown and sticky?…. A stick! An Oedipus complex is when you say one thing and mean a mother. I was giving away some dead batteries…. free of charge. My new years resolution was to read more…. so I enabled subtitles on my tv. Thank you everyone, I will be here all weekend.

I found this place while driving through the city. I saw that the parking lot was pretty full so I pulled in. When looking up open mics in Peoria this place would come up. I was looking for music open mics but Comedy open mic night sounded fun. I didn't think they were open on Thursdays, but I lucked up. Everyone was really nice! I had a yummy milkshake drink called a strawberry shortcake. I was afraid of getting clowned sitting by the stage haha. Also, got popcorn to snack on. I recommend the place for sure! Seems like a good place to test your jokes, with no harsh judgement. Def something different to do, and it's always good to laugh.

I always have a fun time at Jukebox Comedy Club! Dan has been hosting top comics for years, and the shows never disappoint! I've seen a lot of funny people here and I hope to enjoy many more shows in the years to come. It's a small, hole in the wall venue that has seen the likes of Richard Pryor as well as many other top name comedians. Love the Jukebox! 5/10/2025 Just returned from a girls' night out at the Jukebox. Jeff Bailey and Heath Thornton are 2 of my favorite local comics! They've both been performing there for years and always make me laugh! Well worth the hour drive to get there!

This place never loses it's touch. Clean bathrooms and even the staff are funny. The comedians are always top notch talent. I like going with a group of people. There isn't much left in Peoria and this place needs to be supported more by the community. The prices are actually fair and this comedy club is a great way to start or end a great night. Dan is a unforgettable human being and by this point he's a professional comedian. I'm going back here soon. Thanks Dan and staff. I'll leave the bar lights on just for you guys.

Peoria Riverfront Park is a vibrant area filled with shops, dining spots, art galleries, and music venues. It has been a central part of life in Peoria for centuries and offers a scenic trail along the Illinois River. The Saturday Riverfront Market is perfect for picking up fresh produce and artisan crafts. Visitors can also enjoy tours such as horse-drawn carriage rides, segway tours, and paddlewheel excursions.
This park is quaint, beautiful, and so relaxing. They kept the grounds and surrounding area very clean and the weeds and grass are mowed for easy walking around the garden to read the different stones. I had never been to this park before but I saw the brown historic park sign while driving down the road and went on a whim! I’m so happy that I did because it was totally worth it and found a little piece of history and happiness outside. I would definitely come back to this park again for another adventure. This also goes on for a long time on the riverfront park district and continues for a long trail with different planets and stops to look at! Definitely worth checking out for different memorial, gardens, water, and the river! There are even events that happen on the riverfront during the summer like music of festivals!

Beautiful views along the river. A well kept and fairly clean walking path along the river. Excellent for jogging or a peaceful stroll. Just don’t fall in as the water could be toxic!

This can be a more beautiful place if they will take time to clean the lake, update the public bathrooms and maybe make it look more appealing. The fountain doesn’t even work anymore. It’s a nice place to walk and hangout. Just a little effort from the city will make this place have more life.

Located in Downtown Peoria, Wheel Art Pottery Studios is a creative space founded by artists Jacob Grant and Susie Mathews. This pottery studio and school offers classes for all ages and skill levels, providing the opportunity to learn the art of pottery making. Master Potter Jacob Grant, with nearly 25 years of experience, leads the studio and shares his expertise through engaging and educational classes. Visitors can expect a warm welcome from Jacob as they explore their creativity through clay work.
I went with my family and Jacob was just off the hook! You can tell he is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He brought a light to the studio, and I will definitely be back!

One of Peoria's gems. You enter the building into another world of pottery - Rustic and industrial, but homely and inviting. The vibe is immaculate - your worldly worries wait for you outside as you walk past shelves of wildly-creative statuettes and massive automobile-sized kilns. I was dazzled immediately. The second room, full of an array of pottery wheels and shelves, was a work of art in itself; a weathered and old factory space with walls adorned by massive textured sculpture and floor-to-ceiling painted murals urges you to join in on the fun and get messy. The instructors were as good with children as the best teachers and coaches we've ever had. Energetic, engaging, and structured. So rarely does one meet impassioned businesspeople who run their own show with the altruism of our hosts at Wheel Art. There is love in the air, here, and we thank you for an unforgettable birthday party! Make it special: choose Wheel Art!!

Totally recommend this place! We were in from out of town and needed an activity for adults and kids alike. A group of 8 of us ranging in age from 8 to 68 all had a wonderful time and Kyla was a patient and encouraging teacher. Each of us made things we are excited to go back and pick up when they are dried out and fired.

The instructor Jacob was knowledgeable and encouraged us to learn the basics of wheel pottery well during the date night event. The studio was clean and beautiful. We also did the pottery by hand.I would recommend it 100%.

Truly one of Peoria's hidden gems! I started by just taking a 101 class, but the instructor was so helpful and and the atmosphere was friendly so I decided to sign up for the full 8 week class. After just 2 sessions, I feel so proud of my progress. Also, I love when the adorable studio cat comes out every once in a while to play.

Things got creative.... and messy, when my girlfriend set us up on a date to Wheel Art Pottery Studio. We had an absolute blast getting one on one instruction from the owner and were amazed when he created a perfectly symmetrical flower vase right in front of our eyes in under two minutes! While my attempt came out a tad lopsided... more like droopy, we are in anticipation of when we get to go back and pick up our glazed and fired pieces! Our instructor taught us about all the different minerals that go into making clay, let us use our own creativity to make our own pieces.... and then guided us in making pieces we will actually show our friends. Really enjoyed our experience!

I signed my daughter up for a clay class at Wheel Art Pottery Studios and have nothing but good things to say about it. She absolutely LOVED it. Jacob has made her feel welcome and has made the class enjoyable and educational for the kids. She was excited that she even got to try out the pottery wheel. There are even a couple of cats there to help with your projects! She can't wait to start the next class. My daughter is shy and an absolute introvert and this class has been really good for her. 10/10 recommend!

Pretty neat little observatory. When it was first built it was out away from the Peoria area light pollution, but urban sprawl has unfortunately landed it right smack in middle of it. Still, it's an interesting outing for a Saturday night and has a lot of interesting astronomy info inside.

Very nice staff, had plenty to share of what they've seen. I got to see Jupiter, I believe. Very good quality telescope. I recommend going later in the year where there are more planets visible! (Not very accessable for strollers, wheelchairs, or anyone who has trouble walking as it is a long walk from Cyd's parking lot with no sidewalk)

The Peoria PlayHouse is a colorful museum designed for kids. It boasts interactive exhibits and play areas that relate to art, science, and music. Visitors can learn about farm life and agriculture, as well as how water moves. The craft rooms are incredible, and there's even a playhouse with baby dolls inside the play kitchen that toddlers love. The museum is clean, well-organized, and offers picnic tables nearby for visitors to have lunch.
We had the Playhouse reserved for a family event through Skip Along child development where the families could come in and enjoy some time together. I was quite impressed with the things that the playhouse had to offer and it's definitely a great place to bring your kiddos so they can explore and learn some things! I absolutely love all the different activity centers that they had were the kiddos had things that they could interact with like the piano bridge, the water table, the train track, and the ballroom. So much fun stuff to do and I highly recommend bringing your child!

Brought my kids today, on a Wednesday, during our spring break (different week than most schools) and everything seemed broken and out of order. The "Motion Commotion" ball machine was broken, and air pressure was low for other tubes in that area. The water table seemed low on water, and all tubes and most water toys were removed. My son put the smock on and instantly took it off upon realizing there wasn't anything fun to do in the water without the flow tubes. The art/craft rooms were closed - looked like there was a meeting in one, and another room had some moms in it just chatting (I can't remember if these were normally open in the past or if I'm confusing it with Bloomington that has a nice craft room always open). The Real Tools room was closed when we arrived around 10:15... it wasn't until we were ready to leave later that we saw it was finally open - it would have been nice to know when things like that are available... I didn't see it on the website. The Theatre exhibit only had some hand puppets in the big dress-up/props chest. The batteries were dead for the circuit light challenge... or the circuits just didn't work. I tried all of them myself and couldn't get them to work. The battery compartments look like they could use a good cleaning or replacement. The top of the chicken coop climb was locked - so my kids had to climb back down after climbing up. Seems like a strange thing to lock - another set of parents near us were confused on why it was locked as well. I honestly couldn't believe they were charging people full price to come there today. This will probably be the last time we visit, seeing as my children are starting to outgrow what they have to offer at 6 and 8-years-old. Not knowing if everything (especially things for the older kids) is going to be working or open when visiting makes it quite the gamble of our time and money going forward.

We are from Michigan and this was one of my favorite things about our vacation to Peoria. The staff was super friendly, the place was clean (we got there as they were unlocking the doors) they have "yuck" buckets for food toys that kids thought were real (my son thought the pretend food tasted better than my food 😂) It's also right next to the zoo and a park which was extremely awesome for us. They have specific areas for toddlers so they don't run over the big kids. 10/10 highly recommend, this place is awesome.
Aurora ( — Google review
It's advertised as 3 floors of fun but it's really only 2. The third floor simply doesn't have anything to do. We visited on 4/27/2024 with a 1 and 2 year old. Both were entertained and seemed to have a decent time. I think it should have been cheaper for the 2 year old but overall the prices are in line with every other expensive post Covid price these days.

I absolutely love this place. I bought a membership for my grandkids and added a caregiver so the parents can take them too. There is so much to do and learn. From farm life, and learning about agriculture, to learning how water moves. Making movies and the craft rooms are incredible. My two year old granddaughter loves the playhouse and asks to see the baby dolls that are in the play kitchen. It’s clean very well organized, the membership literally pays for itself in just a few trips. There are picnic tables nearby to go out and have a picnic. There are two playgrounds nearby and the Peoria zoo. Well worth coming for a visit!

Donovan Park, located in Central Peoria, offers a serene escape with its former golf course transformed into prairie paths, native trees and flowers, and ponds inhabited by geese. The park also features tree groves where owls and deer can be spotted. Children can have fun at the former sandpits now filled with trucks. Visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing during winter and explore the Northmoor Observatory for breathtaking views of the stars through its 9-inch refractor telescope.
We are here sometimes twice a week. Great spot for picnics, just to let our kids roam... The sand pit by Cyd's is awesome, too. The paths are gorgeous and peaceful to walk down. There's plenty of shade and also so much open space. So far, this is our favorite park in the area.
Charlotte B — Google review
Decent-sized park with plenty of green space and picnic tables, making it perfect for walking dogs or just enjoying the outdoors. There are several small ponds within the park where catch-and-release fishing is encouraged, though the size of the ponds and contents within might pander to a casual audience or young children more than serious hobbyists. The layout of the park is neat in that it used to be a golf course, and the on-site observatory is a unique feature to see. The park is lacking several amenities I'd expect from a public park, such as bathrooms and maintained, paved walking paths. The existing paved paths tend to end abruptly and start again elsewhere, with hilly greens in between, which isn't ideal if you're looking for a casual place to walk. Overall, there are better parks in Peoria, but Donovan Park is unique enough to visit at least once.

This is no longer a golf course. Evidently, the park district has converted it to more of a multipurpose park with lots of grassy trails meandering through grassy prairie (not sure if it's maintained as native) new maple trees groves, a pond, and sculptures. Cyds is located here now, and the Northmore observatory is open on Saturdays.
Adam W — Google review
This is a nice park in the middle of the city. Plenty of green space to walk or run. There are various sculptures throughout the park. The park is also good for cross country running. Donovan also is an accredited Level 1 Arboretum. Northmoor Observatory is also located on the grounds. In the winter people use the park for cross country skiing or snow shoeing.

Beautiful park in Central Peoria- a former golf course repurposed into prairie paths, many native trees and flowers, ponds with Geese, tree groves where you can find owls and deer etc. Kids enjoy one of the former sandpits now filled with trucks. Very good concept of the park. This is very good and innovative park. Children can get accustomed with all domestic animals. They can feed them , touch them and get more information about them. They also spend quality time and they get knowledge about old time farming, equipment and so on. They also see few plants , crops. Children play area is also very good. Old time school is nice to visit. Overall experience is satisfactory.

We had a great first time at this park! It was a hot day on our visit but there are several shaded spots. Beware of the turkey! It “bit” my toddler through the fence, but he was totally fine. I’m sure it was just used to people feeding it through the fence and was hoping my son had a tasty snack to give, ha! The grounds are pretty and the paved path around the park is great for strollers. We didn’t venture over to the playground area but it looked fun! Lots of animals to see and some to pet. A great place for families!

Good service. We have been working on going through the shot menu when we come to pitch (about once a month or every other month). The regular bartender just asks where we are at on the menu. She will make 2 shots and come back every so often to see if we are ready to move on.

I had a great time at Pitch Karaoke Bar. I was in Peoria for work and decided to check out the night life while I was in town. I was immediately greeted with a big smile from the staff. Later in the night a party bus pulled up so the owner came over to me & asked if I needed a drink because they might be slammed for just a bit. Even after the party bus and the place was packed, I was still taken care of. As a fan of the karaoke scene I can say that the sound quality was great. The bartenders are fantastic a really keep up with the flow of people. They also have a very solid selection of drinks that cover all their bases. The down side is the audience though. If it's not college kids then it's sad middle aged men and women. Additionally, while this is a karaoke bar, some of the patrons really destroy the fun with horrible singing that is blasted all over the bar.

Nestled in the vibrant Warehouse District of Downtown Peoria, Thyme Kitchen and Craft Beer is a delightful bi-level eatery that combines a cozy atmosphere with an impressive selection of craft beverages. With nearly 50 craft beers and around 250 bourbons on offer, this gastropub is a haven for beverage enthusiasts. I was at my wits end with the food in Peoria, luckily I came here and had one good meal on my trip. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice I got the fish po boy which was very good and the burgers and chicken sandwich were good as well.

Everything was great except our service. Once we got our delicious food we never saw our waitress again. We really wanted to try some of their Flights, but sadly got discouraged by our poor service. Lauren B.was our server. Once another young lady tracked her down we waited even longer for our check and finally ask another staff to cash us out. It was a real turn off after such good food.

Been here plenty of times but find it a bit inconsistent. Really enjoyed the last visit here. Abnormally quiet for a Thursday but we were sat quickly and the food was fresh. Tried some new things like the NA watermelon mocktail, hummus plate, and pot pie. We were satisfied with these! Their salads are always yummy and a good choice when you want something cold on a hot day.

My husband and I just happened to be in the area and decided to have lunch here a couple weeks ago. I'm a little behind on posting my pictures but the review is still going to be great. Upon walking in we were seated right away, there were quite a few people there but there was still plenty of tables available for a Sunday afternoon. When the waitress seated does she also brought us a large glass bottle of water and two glasses. As you look around the restaurant you notice that there is a loft with more tables and chairs where people are enjoying their lunch. We got the perfect little table, caddy corner right in the corner of the room. It almost felt as if we were the only ones there. We were greeted right away by a waitress and somebody that she was training, both ladies were very sweet. We told her that it was our first time there and she suggested we try and appetizer so we tried the Wisconsin cheese curds, they were beer battered, had white cheddar on the inside, and was served with ranch. They were great! We love going to places and trying different cheese curds and giving it a rating. These are fantastic I would come back just to have them again. For our main entree we both got the fried chicken sandwich. This came with pimento spread, fried onion, chipotle BBQ aioli, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and a potato bun. It seemed a little bit pricey to order this for $17 but I mean, it really seems like the going right now when you do go out to eat. Whike we waited we had some cheese curds and water (that came in a glass jar.) Honestly the water tasted fresh and clean but having it be room temperature water was very unsatisfying. I usually only ever drink water but I guess I could have asked if they had some ice. It just wasn't very refreshing to have it be room temperature. The chicken tasted great I never had one before with pimento cheese on it, it was a really nice addition. I didn't have any room for dessert this time but this was a great meal and we will definitely be returning to try something new on the menu next time!

Absolutely one of my favorite places to drop in. Brock has to be one of the coolest bartenders in #Peoria! 🌟 The food was great! We tried the short rib ragu (🤤) and the tuna poke, and they were both phenomenal. Started off with a couple of dirty martinis, and then the Rasputin. You feel like you have space and privacy here. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area. As a plant-lover, I was excited about the succulent wall. 😂 🌿

Located in downtown Peoria, this place is not real easy to find due to poor signage in my opinion. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Monday and we were just about the only ones in the restaurant. The hostess seated us at a dirty table so our server noticed and had us switch tables. They have an extension Bourbon list so I started with an Old Fashion. They make theirs with Old Forester bourbon which is not my favorite. I should have asked for something different. My wife was pleased they had a nice Gluten Free menu so she ordered the Bison burger with side salad. I ordered their Smoked Meatloaf sandwich. Our meals were brought out by the chef and he noticed he put croutons on my wife's salad which is a big no-no. He also brought her a turkey sandwich? The server admitted it was her mistake so while I ate my sandwich,my wife waited about 10 minutes for her meal . My sandwich consisted of smoked meatloaf on a hoagie roll topped with mashed potatoes, crispy onions and smokey tomato sauce. It was very tasty but I did not really see or tasted mashed potatoes. When my wife received her Bison burger there was blood from the meat on the plate .not very appetizing! She said the burger tho was very good and cooked medium well. Thyme Kitchen offers a variety of unique food items as well as an extensive bar menu but they just need to get their act together.

My husband and I had a pleasant evening out to celebrate my birthday! He ordered the Bison Burger and I ordered the Tuna Poke bowl! Both were very delicious! Just a little loud to be able to talk but we were sitting directly in front of the speaker! Our first time and definitely not our last to Thyme Kitchen!

The food was really good and they have a wonderful beer selection. I hit them right at a shift change while they were trying to set up for a private event, but they were very polite and accommodating for me as a single traveler in town on business. Ella was amazing and I appreciated the GM personally checking on me during my meal. Will add this to my places to return to when I’m back in Peoria!

Nestled in downtown Peoria, Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery and Eatery is a truly unique dining destination housed within a beautifully preserved 1889 church. The historic building has been transformed into a microbrewery and eatery, offering an ever-changing selection of brews alongside a menu featuring elevated pub fare such as flatbread pizzas, salads, burgers, and German-inspired dishes. Guests can also enjoy the lovely outdoor beer garden with stunning views of the historic church.
A very nice place to get drinks, food and hang out with friends and family. They have a variety of drinks you can order. I ordered Strawberry blonde. It's very good!!! The food here is also impressive. The pulled pork nacho is recommended. The staff here are very nice, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here is especially beautiful both inside and outside. They decorated the place very well. I enjoyed it!!

Beautiful stone church turned into an eatery. Was a Presbyterian Church back in 1887. Looks like maybe in the 90s a Freemasonry group bought it and then eventually another family bought it and made it into a restaurant. Some prominent family I think even had their husband's ashes in it at one point...So it has an interesting history. Just do a search on it and you can find out more. The food was good. The fries are battered and tasty. The burger patty was more like a smash patty. I did not eat it with a bun. I asked for it rare and it actually did come with a little pink in it. Tasty meat. My son had the Asian wrap and he loved the flavor and crunch -said it was not too sweet. He enjoyed it. Service. They were all sweet but it felt discombobulated. Like the hostess didn't really know where she was taking people. It took a while for us and other tables to be served or greeted. Almost like they this was they first week open and they're trying to work out the bugs. Not sure what was up, but like I said, they were all sweet and apologetic. (But if you read other reviews, they consistently seem to have this issue. It'd be cool if they can figure it out) I'd like to come back and try their fish fry and the Scotch eggs

Really enjoyed our visit, the place has a great vibe. The atmosphere and building are really fun and unique. The service was fantastic. The food and cocktails were okay, not bad but we're just fair. I'd definitely be back, the atmosphere and service are the real stars here.

9-20-25 Been here several times over the past couple years and each time it's a great experience. The food, atmosphere, service and patrons are all great! It can get very busy at times so be prepared to spend some time waiting on your order but believe me it's well worth the wait. The fact that it's in an over 100 year old church is awesome in itself. We'll definitely be back soon!

Stopped in for Saturday lunch. Great food!! I originally thought the prices were high but the portions were freaking amazing! Had the onion rings, bourbon burger, chicken taco flatbread. Tried the blackberry pineapple cocktail ... delicious! Just the right amount of sweet! Ended up taking home a growler of the Strawberry Blonde and a can of the Island. Church was beautiful inside with the sained glass. Really neat atmosphere! Don't forget to get some dog biscuits for your pets! Didn't realize this was here or that there was a location in Springfield Illinois. Would definitely go back!

Visiting and could not have asked for a better experience. Perfect combination of good food, quality drinks, premium service a unique but exciting atmosphere. Caitlin and Josh were my servers at the bar. Their dynamics with the customers and the honesty within the menu and products are pristine. My bill was A LOT lower than I had expected. Would come back without doubt.

A little more team-work would have avoided a significant wait til water/ drink orders. I was debating between 3 star and four for service. When a waitress finally did acknowledge our presence, the service was good.... But that took a while. The food was good, very good, the beer was fine, the atmosphere outstandingly beautiful. Typical of Peoria, it was almost ....

The mall features an array of unique stores offering items such as autographed movie gifts, custom statues, cinnamon pretzels, ugly Christmas sweaters, lava lamps, and more.
I thought this mall was great and very enjoyable. Yes there are some closed shops but it isn't at all what other reviewers are making it out to be. There were great deals at Maurice's. $5 tops and 75% off quite a large number of clothes including jeans. There are some very unique stores here. Autographed movie gifts by celebrities, miniature custom statues of you and your pets and family, cinnamon pretzels, ugly Christmas sweaters, lava lamps, incense, and so much more!

It is a great place to walk inside out of the elements...visit with people and grab a bite to eat...Chinese, Mexican, boba teas, candy store with some international options like Dubai chocolate bars...and then JC Penney is still open... There's a lot of unique stores set up in the mall as well. And they also have massage... Build-A-Bear still going strong and they have a really good barbecue place as well... And if I get my nails or pedicure done I always go to the salon at the mall. It is always clean too! That's a big deal. I like going because inevitably you run into someone you know.

I am sure it was a great mall, in its day. Its not a bad mall now, still has a number popular stores still and it's food court is not bad. Maybe I am just use to larger malls..
Scott S — Google review
First off, the bathrooms are old and they always smell terrible. Secondly, there needs to be more chain stores. I am all for supporting small businesses, but that’s mostly what this mall has been getting recently. Lots of empty space since Sears and The Room Place moved out. I would suggest that those spaces are converted into more stores. This mall isn’t as crowded as it used to be and it’s very sad. I don’t see much effort in getting space filled up in this mall. However, I do enjoy the mall. It has just been getting very boring since there isn’t as many good stores. Please consider my suggestion!

Northwoods Mall been part of Peoria for decades, but you can feel how much it’s changed over time. Some stores still hold that classic vibe, but others faded with the times. Still, it’s part of the city’s roots the spot where a lot of us grew up walking through, dreaming about more. It’s not about what it used to be… it’s about what it inspired us to become. Louie K’s Up from the mall floors to the main stages. Growth looks different now. 💭🛍🔥

Too many stores that are too expensive. Even JCPenny got expensive over the years. There's not much to do compared to what it had even back in early 2000s. Cheap toy store, more affordable clothes that were decent looking. Clothes too expensive for less fabric & don't get me started on the food... If they ever get rid of Gloria Jeans or bath and body works then I'd never go back

I went to insomnia, got in and out. Needs more signs at that weird 3/5 way intersection coming off from either entrances. Some people think they have right of way and they do not as not all ways have a stop sign. Parking lot can be a little tight but makes since as where the areas with the most businesses it can be hard to find a spot so they made the existing spots more narrow. Not much else to say.

GQT Willow Knolls 14 is a popular theater in central Illinois known for its friendly and helpful staff. While it's a great place for birthday parties, some find the party space to be small, leading to adults standing in the hallway. Despite this, the theater provides everything needed for a successful party. Visitors appreciate the comfortable and clean environment and recommend visiting on Tuesdays for cost-effective deals.
Price is great, especially on Tuesdays. It's not too traffic-heavy. The theaters are clean, the audio is clear without busting your ear drums, and the staff are efficient.

We watched a 50th anniversary showing of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" at this theater. Sound and screen quality were good. Theater seats were comfortable but a bit worn. DO NOT GO TO THIS THEATER! We have experienced MANY difficulties with this particular theatre! It was definitely worth the extra 10 minute drive and later time to go to a different theater… we HIGHLY recommend AMC or honestly any different theater. The staff are rude and impatient making the experience definitely not worth your money! It looks like the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned since the opening day. The food and drink are way overpriced WITHOUT free refills! I could buy a Starbucks drink with the money they charge for a slushy. The staff almost made my family and I leave and threatened to call the cops because of someone sitting near me - also they almost didn’t give me my money back and turned off the movie!

WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD!!! racist, unprofessional, and disrespectful manager. Came with my family to watch the new conjuring and the manager was so unprofessional. Right off the bat he started to scream at me and was very disrespectful. I am 21 years old and forgot my id but came with my 26 years old uncle and 22 years old older brother. The manager rudely screamed at me I was unable to to buy a ticket because I didn’t have an id. There was two white TEEager next to me buys tickets and they didn’t get asked for an id. My uncle then tried to get my ticket and the manager again screamed and said that he couldn’t bc he already purchased his ticket. My brother hadn’t bought his ticket yet so he said if that’s the issue then he would buy it bc then TECHNICALLY i would be accompanied but someone older then 21! he said no again and keep going back and forth. I’m sure he was being racist and taking his anger out on his costumers which is HORRRIBLE. talk about a miserable individual who hates there job….. you get paid for this sir

Sukumar S — Google review
Review Date: 08/19/2023 Another childhood location revisited. Detweiller Park is a place I have fond, if not faded, memories from my childhood. I remember coming here on a few field trips and also coming here to slide down their sledding hill. My friend Mary and I set out to hike some trails we grew up traversing and I said yes. We got there early to beat the heat and discovered about 30 games of kindergarten-level of soccer being played. Glad to see kids will have fond memories of this place as I do. Once we got parked, we headed out and hit some trails. Being super rusty with the area, we poked around here and there trying to find where and what to hike. At one point, we had an elderly gentleman walk up to us and give an assessment on some trails we were debating on hiking. We didn’t really want to take this northern path that lead 7 miles away, so we took the Pimiteoui South trail about the lower part of the park, then took Dry Run trail to stretch out the afternoon before ending it too early. It was a nice leisure stroll with a friend on a sunny and breezy afternoon. The entire soccer fields, once full with kids, were completely empty. In fact, the park was nearly empty by the time we got back to the parking lot. We saw more cars drive through the park than people hiking in the park. While there are some trails, this isn’t the place to come if you are looking for some dedicated hiking trails like you can get at Forest Park Nature Center but still a great place to escape to nature.
Joshua D — Google review
Detweiller Park is such a beautiful and peaceful spot in Peoria! The trails are well-maintained and perfect for hiking, walking, or just enjoying nature. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and recharge outdoors!!

We love Detweiller Park! They have some nice hiking trails. There is a park close to a pavilion with a restroom close by. They have a sled hill in the winter for families to enjoy. There is a large field for soccer games, cross country meets, etc. They have a frisby golf course to play on. There is plenty of parking in different areas. I wouldn't suggest bringing in a semi or RV, but there is an area where you could park an RV as long as there aren't a lot of cars parked there.

The talented actors are deeply committed to their roles, delivering spine-chilling scares that catch you off guard at every turn. The haunted house features a clever design with a mix of tight corridors and spacious rooms that heighten your sense of vulnerability.
Definitely my new favorite haunted house! For a lot of them I feel like I’m in a show, but in this one I was actually scared! Everything was on point—the jump scares, the lighting, the costumes/makeup, the sounds…everything!!!! Definitely add this one to you bucket list.

You can tell a lot of time and effort was put into every detail. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a good scare. We will absolutely be back!
Luke M — Google review
As someone who spends every October visiting and reviewing haunted houses, I really wanted Aura to deliver — especially given the historic setting. Unfortunately, it fell short in ways that are hard to overlook. The sets themselves are good, with solid design and atmosphere, but they often felt confusing and disjointed rather than immersive. The pacing was another major issue: I caught up to the group ahead of me almost instantly, and after the second queue hold I was stuck with them for the entire second half. That killed the timing of the scares and made the experience predictable. I get that it’s only your second day open, but if y’all are fully staffed, then you honestly need more. There were big stretches of silence where nothing happened at all, and it really dragged down the energy. For $38 a ticket, you shouldn’t be opening at full price if the show feels that empty. And honestly, for that price point, I’d rather put my money toward a bigger name like Massacre or Hellsgate. Those attractions are longer, more polished, and deliver a much more memorable experience. Aura lasted under 20 minutes, which just doesn’t justify the cost. Overall, I’d give it a 5.5/10. Not awful, but forgettable — and unless major improvements are made, it’s hard to recommend when stronger options are close by.

10/20/24. Edited 3 to 5 stars. If I could be said to have a regular Recteation Center, it's Landmark. The bowling alley is solid and professionally run with friendly and knowledgeable counter staff, Decent shoes. It's a large bowling alley so there is usually a lane available. Decent specials depending on the day check website, etc. Currently there is also a great arcade and bar. Very decent food and good beer specials. Solid but not overly exciting beer on tap, pitchers available. Also provides food and drink to bowling lanes. Video Poker available. Go axe throw with Gone Social. Super friendly and fairly priced experience. You get an axe Master who will teach, encourage and help you keep score, if desired. We chose to play a little more freely. Very safety conscious, courteous and funny. Experience by the 1/2 hour. Waivers in front. My very favorite though is the 80s Arcade in the back of the main bar. This is aa separate room with another proprietor and it's crazy fun! Dance, Dance Revolution is a dollar.....but like 5 rounds or something. I missed this when it was cool but I sure do like it now. Otherwise you pay a very fair entry fee (I believe $10 or less) and play whatever you like. Does not want drinks at machines so I post up a table in the bar close to the door.Huge variety of games and 80s tunes forever. It is a whole vibe. Good lanes and good atmosphere. Holds shoes while you bowl. Pricey snack bar

They are deceptive(I made it very clear that the reason I was signing up for the membership was because of the kids room and they waited until the next day after I signed up and it was too late to back out that the kids room didn’t even open until 430/5 even though I told them I would be getting to the facility around 330), dirty (trash all over the ladies locker room area), in great need of updating (cracked tiles, frayed carpet, broken glass on tanning bed, lights out in tanning bed…) and expensive (you can get a family membership much cheaper at several gyms in much better areas and in much better shape close by). Do not waste your money with this place it’s not worth it.

Great fun and a reasonable price. The open bowling is loads of fun and you can customize the type of music and display for your lane. They also have a bar that serves food that is very good. They also have a cinema that is part of this complex. The movies are current but the price for concessions and the movie is a lot cheaper.

Great prices. I had a great time at this location the tickets were at a great price the concession was amazingly priced and there was plenty of seating I really enjoyed the pleasantness of the staff and the selection at the concession stand the deals were amazing where else can you go and get a small popcorn and a soda for only 2 bucks absolutely awesome and then there's a bowling alley right there as well I'm talking about a great time for all

Kartville is an outdoor recreation center located in West Peoria, Central Illinois. The facility provides single and two-seat karts for those who enjoy speed and racing. Additionally, Kartville features ATV and Dune Buggies that can accommodate up to two passengers.
We had a time here! Its small but definitely enjoyable. You pay for each ride, a la carte so don’t come here looking for deals. They have kids working so don’t expect great customer service. Just pull up for the vibes and something to do in the middle of nowhere Peoria. I would definitely not come back because once you did it, you did it but if you are around the way, I would recommend the visit!

Dan M — Google review
Such a fun, nostalgic spot! I went with a close friend after not visiting for over 15 years (I used to come here for summer camp field trips), and it was just as good as I remembered. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole vibe even better. Just a heads-up: it’s cash-only, but there’s an ATM on-site if you need it. We got there right at 7 p.m. and barely had to wait at all at first. Between 7 and 9 p.m. they do this awesome $20 unlimited rides deal (otherwise it’s $5 per ride). By around 7:30 the lines were getting a bit longer, but they moved really quickly, so it wasn’t a big deal. We played mini golf for $5—it’s not the fanciest course, but honestly it was great for the price. Super fun! The go-karts were faster than I remembered, which was a fun surprise! Our favorite part was the dune buggies. The trail has little bridges and bumps that make it so entertaining. They also have bumper boats, though we decided to skip those because we didn’t want to get wet 😆 Overall, Kartville is an awesome, affordable place to hang out with friends or family. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun, laid-back night out!

This was an amazing day! The staff were all friendly and respectful. I'm a bit older and out of shape, but the young guys didn't complain or get impatient waiting for me to get in and out of rides. We were celebrating my granddaughter turning 10. So you know this old kid at heart had to jump in. It was so fun watching her expression, just like her dad when he got to experience Kartville the first time. Thanks for the memories and ability to create more for a new generation of parents and kids!
Donna M — Google review
Mini golf was fun! The bumper boats were very hard to control and our motor died on us, wasn't allowed to go a second time. Go carts were okay, a little rough on some parts. The dune buggies need a good suspension job. Definitely worth it if you have any kids but beware, some rides are rough! Would I spend $20 again here, probably not. 🤷‍♂️

Lame! Super slow go karts! My 2 year old Batmobile goes faster. Waste of time.
Jeff B — Google review
Over priced for only have 3 (rides) that you can do. That’s it. All workers are EXTREMELY rude. My bother and I were kicked off of the race track because we accidentally bumped into each other. Because it’s a race track (which isn’t big at all) and the worker singled us out ( IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING) and kicked us off and told us we were not allowed to come back on that track for the night. It was a complete accident, a 12 year olds birthday party too. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life, and to see my little brother have his whole night ruined because we bumped into each other ON ACCIDENT. On the race track there were two workers. The other worker didn’t even understand why he was kicking us off, but over all experience was terrible. I did witness a little boy about 7 getting on the doom buggy to drive, he was a little nervous (why wouldn’t he be it was his first time there he’s 7, and about to drive for the first time). The worker yelled at him and said “if you’re too nervous, you just need to leave here” in front of the whole park. Ive never felt so bad for a little one in my life. Over all, this is the worst place to bring a little one under the age of 13 (if even that age I’m 24 and I was treated horribly) I’ve never seen so many people, myself and my family included. Be so mistreated and disrespected by one place MULTIPLE time throughout the 2 hours we were there. I’ve never wasted so much money just to be treated like garbage. I am a very disappointed customer (or an old customer) all of this happened on 8/9/25 and that is that last time I go back. I’ve only been twice, my first experience was not great either but this time, THIS TIME IS THE LAST. 1/10 don’t go here it’s a waste of money and you’ll be treated like trash.

Nestled in Bartonville, the Peoria State Hospital Museum, home of the Old State Mine Haunted Trail, offers a spine-tingling experience that draws thrill-seekers from near and far. Open every Friday and Saturday night throughout October and on November 2nd, this haunted attraction is steeped in local legend surrounding an old mine situated on the grounds of the historic asylum.
It was worth the wait in line. The art, and time spent into the artwork, costumes and scenes were truly amazing. The darkness made it so you weren’t knowing of what to expect on the trail. I been through a lot of haunts and this place will always get a suggestion because of dedication and creativity. The makeup art and actors from start to end makes it great place to go every time.

I went last night with a few friends to this museum. I drove from NC and i tell you i was not disappointed! The ghost hunt portion was awesome..there was activity through the night. They also gave us the history of the Hospital, gave us a detailed tour of all the areas we would be, and gave us true accounts of the former staff/wards of the hospital. I love what they are doing here to keep the memory of Peoria State Hospital and it’s purpose alive. I definitely recommend coming here and supporting them!

Our crew visited PSH for a private guided tour and ghost hunt. We booked online ahead of time, and check in was super easy. They were outside and ready to greet us up on arrival! Our tour guide Patrick was amazing, humorous and very well-informed of the history. We had a walking tour of the cemeteries and a short informational video. Then we had 5 hours to investigate, a long with another guide, Kim, who was also super friendly and willing to join us for our investigation! Very quiet night for us, the spirits at PSH enjoy the company, but don't always want to chat. The tour guides and owners of PSH are so amazing and really care about the place and want to restore the history and clear up the rumors of a dark past. We will be returning again soon!!

This haunt experience just keeps getting better and better! I went with family, and we didn't mind the wait -- we got to enjoy spooky music and engaging scare actors while we stood in line, or sat on the benches provided for the wait. The wagon ride at the beginning of the trail was an unexpected but extremely cool treat! The walk through the woods was satisfyingly creepy. A great experience for the money: highly recommended for anyone who wants a genuine haunt!

Bar
Rhodell Brewery is a craft brewpub located in Peoria, IL, offering a diverse selection of handmade beers for over 20 years. With 10 taps that frequently change and a traditional English hand pump for cask-conditioned beer, they focus on small-batch production, ensuring there's always something new to try. In addition to their bar featuring wines and spirits, the brewery also has skilled mixologists on staff.
Pour me another one, cap’n. Years ago, Rhodell Brewery was located just a block over from their new location and truth be told, I’ve been to this new location quite a few times. A few times for birthdays and a few times for just grabbing a beer and shooting the breeze. I was in the mindset of not re-reviewing places until recently but I figured new places (and time) mean new experiences so here we are, visiting Rhodell’s again. Emily and I decided to drop in on a day full of plans going awry. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon and it was a bit less busy than I expected but the line at the bar was short. The bartender that was working has been there for a long time and has always provided excellent service. I wasn’t sure what I was in the mood for so I sampled their Midwest Wheat and decided to order that. Emily got the Strawberry Blonde and I also snagged a sticker for $3. Since this was a bit of an impromptu visit, I wasn’t super in focus on reviewing it for this blog so bear with me on that since I was just wanting a beer and to chit-chat. We snagged our usual seat next to the door leading out to the patio and talked life. I won’t bore you with those details but while we were sipping our beers, a group of young’uns came in (god, I sound old) wearing shirts with extreme sexual innuendo. It was hard to not try and read their shirts and laugh out loud but we eventually did get to read them all and they were all great. I haven’t really explored much of the interior or patio area due to it always being busy and I don’t want to disrupt others just to look around/take photos. But the one thing that sticks out to me is the lack of the giant creepy kilt wearing guy from the old location. I don’t know the history of it but it was such a striking thing to encounter and I think it may be a thing of the past? I would love to know what the deal with that thing is. Since I’ve been here a few times, I’ve tried: blueberry cream ale, american wheat, strawberry blonde lager, wild berry sour and various other seasonal beers. The blueberry cream ale is one I am especially fond of. I’m not sure which beers are seasonal and which are part of their repertoire so check their Facebook page to see what’s currently on tap. There were some pizza signs around the bar so I do think they need food if you need something for the beer to wash down, but don’t fully quote me on that. Rhodells is the staple brewery in Peoria. I can’t imagine Peoria without it. So, if you are in ‘whiskey capital of the world’ and need a delicious local beer, Rhodells is the place to go.

We come here every time we visit Peoria. They always have great beers and the lineup is always changing. This time we tried the Kiwi Strawberry Blonde, the Watermelon Wheat, and the Blueberry Cream Ale. All three were great but we took home a growler of the Blueberry Cream Ale, it was fantastic!

Always a great selection of finely crafted beers. I like that the menu changes frequently but always has something for everyone. My husband and I have many options of places to go, but always choose to drive the hour it takes to come to our favorite spot. Just happened to be in town on game day. Tickets were affordable. Ticketing agent was incredibly nice and conversational with my son as she found us seats. As baseball fans we had trouble deciding where to sit so she put us on the first base line with a great seats. Concession prices were to be expected. Gift shop had a limited but adequate selection. We went on the Haunted trolley tour and it was not what we were expecting at all. First of all, there was not a trolley, but a CityLink bus. We could not see out very well and the people in the back could not hear the woman who was giving the tour. Most of the time the lady told us information about the city of Peoria and she just touched on the haunted places on the tour. The couple across from my daughter and I also didn't know which building she was talking about as we drove down the road not being able to see out. My daughter who is 17 continued to ask me which house she was talking about and I had to say," I have no idea". The speaker that the lady was using would also screech when she put it to close to her mouth because people in the back said they couldn't hear her. I really wish I hadn't spent the $15 each. Also the trolley ride was to be an hour and a half. It was an hour, but at this point we both just wanted off the CityLink bus. I have been on the trolley ride that starts in the Heights and the man who did that had a wealth of information and I would highly suggest that tour. But if the trolley is broken and they send a CityLink bus.....DON'T GET ON AND WASTE YOUR MONEY! Happy Halloween.

Giant Oak Park is a one-acre recreational area characterized by a centuries-old bur oak tree with an impressive 100 ft branch span. The tree, which has been standing for over 500 years, is fenced off to protect it from damage. Visitors can enjoy the park's picnic table and ample grassy areas surrounding the majestic oak while contemplating its historical significance.
A nice spot to enjoy an ancient tree that is over 500 years old. You can't access the tree directly as it's surrounded by a fence to protect it. There is a picnic table and plenty of grass to walk around it and enjoy thinking about the amount of time it's been there.

Lol, reading some of the comments. Yes it’s a small park on a quiet street devoted entirely to honoring a truly Great burr oak tree, dated by international arborists to 1499!!!!! (thus, “not much going on” unless you have the imagination to realize how AWESOME that is, from so many perspectives). It’s absolutely enormous —more like a grove of 20 trees all attached— but, as giant old trees do, somehow exudes gentleness and calm (as many other reviewers noticed). My 6-year old was plenty happy chatting with a local ginger cat who came out and greeted us, then retreated to its hedge at a safer distance... and then looking for interesting bugs and birds with me in the huge branches overhanging the iron fence. I’m so deeply grateful to the people that first decided to protect and honor this tree and all those who have carried the torch since then. Thank you so much!!!

Nice small park around a very old tree. If you want a little piece of history about the Peoria area, definitely recommend. The Peoria Holocaust Memorial, located at the Peoria Riverfront Museum campus, is a unique outdoor installation on long-term loan from the Jewish Federation of Peoria. It features 11 million buttons collected by school children as part of The Button Project, symbolizing the victims of the WWII Holocaust. This somber and emotional memorial serves as a chilling reminder of the devastating impact of hate and bigotry in history.
The memorial is outside of the museum and it is free to visit and see. Parking is also free on weekends around there. It is very nicely made and has some info to provide but definitely a quick 10 min visit.

Very sobering thoughts on the whole thing but at the same time alot of people my age that lived around here when this was built and made they can remember bringing in buttons from home as instructed by the teacher.. so yes a great way especially for young minds to take in the sad reality of how much of a big deal and horrible of a time this was.

Just makes me sad that kids in Gaza are being treated the same. All death is sad.

Peoria's Holocaust Memorial uses millions of buttons to dramatize the lives lost in the WWII Holocaust. It is open, free to the public, 24/7, with curbside parking nearby.

I was not prepared for how emotional these buttons made me, a messianic Jew, feel.

This is a bit hidden but a very impactful memorial.

A nice little detour outside of the museum. I love the way it's put together. Nobody else around so that was nice. I wish there was some placard or something just explaining a little bit about what it was about, maybe about the creator or inspiration to how things were designed. I had to look up info about it on my phone. Some type of explanation/background would be a great update. Otherwise, a nice impactful memorial.

Buttons, thousands of them in Star of DVD shaped containers. Victims' buttons. Chillingly innocent artifacts ghat represent a murdered person. Worth walking through and being reminded that civilization can devolve quickly when leaders promote hate and bigotry.

Park
Glen Oak Park is a delightful public space from the late 19th century, offering a combination of attractions such as a children's museum, zoo, and botanical garden. During visits, both animals and humans can be seen enjoying the pleasant weather. The friendly staff ensures a warm welcome, and despite being sectioned off with designated routes, the atmosphere never feels forced or hurried. Although some animals may not be very active, there are still ample opportunities to observe them.
This is my 3rd or 4th trip to this zoo. It's a pretty zoo and the kids enjoy it a lot. The animals aren't very active, but you still get to see plenty. Our favorite area is Africa. The entrance is beautiful, the walk up is so nice and being able to see a giraffe up so close is AWESOME. The walkabout is really cool too. That's possibly the kids favorite.

Very beautiful park was in the area from out of town n stayed about an hour or so in a hotel with my reward points n wanted to check out Juneteenth Activities!
Cory B — Google review
Second time we have been here. My boys enjoyed the animals. We were a little too early to feed the giraffes, but we're on a field trip and had to stay with the group. The gentlemen with the mould of the tiger skull was very informative and interactive with the kids! They loved it!

Took my daughter to the Juneteenth Festival this past week it looks the same as it did 23 yrs ago when I had my sons 3rd birthday party there lol but I guess that’s a good thing I guess
Amanda G — Google review
We visited from out of town and the entrance GPS took us to was closed. You have to enter near the zoo. We expected the wooden playground shown in all the pictures, but we arrived to a modern playground with many cliché qualities of other recently updated parks. It was still fun, with lots of new things to explore and fantastic amenities for children with disabilities. My 9-year old and I played for about 45 minutes before she got bored. More seating and shade would be good additions, and the area is begging for a splash pad in the future. It's sad to see the whimsical wooden parks disappearing, but this is a very nice playground, overall. Wish we would have had time to see the gardens at the park!

1. Peoria Zoo & Luthy Botanical Garden - Home to the Peoria Zoo, a family favorite with diverse animals - Luthy Botanical Garden offers peaceful walking paths and seasonal displays 2. Historic Landscape & Beauty - Rolling hills, mature trees, and scenic views - Classic park design from the early 1900s 3. Playground & Picnic Areas - Kid-friendly playground and splash pad - Multiple picnic shelters and benches throughout the park 4. Sports & Recreation - Tennis courts, open fields, and walking paths - Great for casual outdoor activities

Was so excited to take my kids to the big wooden park I had been told so many amazing things about. When looking it up, it was huge and looked so fun. Like its own castle. When we pulled up I was nothing but disappointed in what it had been replaced with. A small hard plastic/metal park. I love that it seems to have been made to assist handicap children and that is pretty amazing but other than that such a complete disappointment to see. When reaching it, google articles I read state the new remodel was $1 million and I just don’t understand where that money went. It’s so small.

Friendly staff and some of the best displays at any zoo! We will always be drawn to the wallaby exhibit, but the Takins are my new favorite

Dozer Park is a contemporary stadium that can accommodate up to 7,500 people and serves as the home ground for the Peoria Chiefs, a minor league baseball team. The stadium's central location makes it an attractive destination for spectators of all ages, and even those who are not particularly fond of baseball will find plenty of entertainment options available. Throughout the season, there are numerous promotions and fireworks displays that add to the excitement.
Always a blast at the chiefs games. Always have a ton of fun, plenty of activities for kids. I love the food choices I wish they would bring back the grilled chicken with the pepper Jack cheese they used to have like 10 years ago. But the choices are decent, I loved the pizza it’s a pretty big slice for $8. Firework night is always my favorite they’re so pretty && last like 6 solid minutes. One of my favorite activities is coming to watch the chiefs play.
Jessica B — Google review
Great baseball experience. Foods reasonable. Parking is easy and lots of free street parking. View from seats is great!
Harry D — Google review
Do not buy the “Buffet Ticket”. The food was terrible. We really only ate the Lays potato chips and the pop. They closed the Umbrellas in the 7th when it was still really sunny. They kicked us out of our seats in the top of the 8th with no warning. You cannot be further from a bathroom or beer man. I only give 2 stars because we came on Sunday family day once and had a great time. The experience today was… rough.
Sean P — Google review
Had to call to book handicapped seats. Can’t do it on line. I clearly explained to the guy that we had one person in a walker, not a wheelchair. The guy that booked our seats put my grandmother in a row by herself. We had to hunt down someone to bring her a chair. We tried to get an usher to help and he was rude and patronizing telling us to just count out our seat position on the concrete. I said we understood but there is no chair there. Utterly ridiculous situation in a mostly empty stadium. How does the guy booking tickets not understand that my grandma really wanted to be with her family and not sit alone on her 98th birthday? Total waste of 75$. Won’t ever go back. I competence is deep here. Edit: the manager did try and fix it later but it had already become so much drama we just let it go
K B — Google review
My mother surprised us with tickets. Parking was easy, game wasn't too crowded, unfortunately it was very, very hot. We only stayed till the 5th inning but the game itself wasnt bad. The interaction with fans was fun and my kids got a Frisbee and a foul game ball. Overall enjoyed myself, definitely will be going back when we get another chance.
Cassandra B — Google review
Great weather, they won in 10th inning walk off, fireworks are always good.
Tom H — Google review
Fantastic ball park. Clean and everyone was real nice and professional. We had some rain the night if our attendance but the ushers went above and beyond to make everyone's seat dry. Will definitely be back.

8/9/25 Pleasant evening of spending time with my family, snacking, and tracking new cardinals prospects last night. Not much of a Single-A fan, but that was a competitive game and they lost a game that they could have won if they hadn't stranded runners. Fireworks night was fun as I was driving away. Kudos to the vendors manning the Dippin Dots kiosk, as they were very helpful and gregarious. Without identifying anyone, I was delayed parking by a general park employee who was jaywalking in the street, and turned and looked to see coming traffic, slowing down considerably in the process. I was also given the wrong soda flavor, paying 5 dollars for a Regular sized beverage that would be small any other place. I hope that the latter two enjoyed the power trip, but it was still a pleasant evening regardless. I am not generally "that guy" who complains and throws a fit, so keep that in mind.

Nestled within the serene Riverfront Park in Peoria, Illinois, the Dan Fogelberg Memorial stands as a heartfelt tribute to the beloved local music icon. This charming memorial may be small, but it captures the essence of Fogelberg's legacy beautifully. Visitors can admire large boulders inscribed with lyrics from his songs, all while enjoying stunning views of the Illinois River.
Saw the sign from the highway and had to stop. Very cute park, nice view of the river. Only downside the homeless guy sharpening a spear behind a tree talking to himself. I have to give him props, he had a target shopping cart, not a Walmart shopping cart.

Review Date: August 11th, 2015 A small, but beautiful memorial located in the Riverfront Park of Peoria, IL that is dedicated to the local music legend Dan Fogelberg. Personally, I do not know much of the music of Dan Fogelberg, but I thought I would stop by and pay my respects to a local legend. I could not pinpoint the address for this place, but if you look up Riverfront Park, it is within that park. There are plenty of signs on the roads pointing to the park and memorial.

What a peaceful and touching tribute to one of Peoria’s most talented musicians. The lyrics from a couple of his songs are etched in the large boulders overlooking the Illinois River. For music lovers who are Dan Fogelberg fans, you will want to stop to visit his memorial in Peoria.

There are a few tables and benches that you can sit at to view the memorial and enjoy the river.

Historical landmark
The bronze sculpture of Richard Pryor by Preston Jackson is a remarkable depiction of the renowned comedian performing with a microphone. While it may be smaller than anticipated, its resemblance to Pryor is outstanding. However, some feel that as a tribute to Peoria's native son, it fails to fully capture the significance of his rise to fame and his enduring influence on the entertainment industry worldwide. Nevertheless, the statue itself is beautifully crafted, accurately capturing Pryor's likeness.
Looks just like him. Nice quick stop if your in the area. There's a lot right behind the statue so you can jump out and get a few quick pics if you'd like
Genious00 — Google review
It’s a bit of an odd spot for a statue of Richard Pryor—the pride of Peoria, Illinois—but I believe this might be where he lived as a young man, so it makes sense in its own way.

Got a chance to checkout the Richard Pryor Statue today after delivering a load locally. This is a beautiful sculpture located in E Peoria, IL. This is located on the corner of Washington and State St.

If you are a comedy fan, this is a must-see to pay homage to one of the greatest comedians of all time.

Great statue. More works by Preston Jackson at the Riverside museum. Updated 10/18/2024 And find his studio and works for sale at the contemporary Arts Center. Also displayed in the studio are works by his wife and daughter (horribly lame, but notes next time with names) This venue also houses the studios of other great, local Peoria Artists. First friday, free gallery tours wirh artist talks and music.

My first time visiting Richard Pryor statue. He is a relative of mine. Never got to see in person but if he had lived he was coming to see us in my small town.
Tony R — Google review
One of the best comedian of all time, check out his childhood houses around the Greater Peoria Aera.
Scott S — Google review
It is smaller than I thought it would be, but the resemblance is fantastic. I am giving it four stars because as a celebration of Peoria's native son it is missing the gravity of RP's rise to fame and that he was and will be a definitive inspiration on a genre on entertainment for the rest of the world's existence.
