Park
Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington is a historic zoo that has been around since 1891. Over the years, it has expanded and added new exhibits, making it more than double its original size. The zoo features indoor spaces like ZooLab, which houses exotic insects, meerkats, and parrots. Visitors can also explore the Katthoefer Animal Building to see snow leopards, tamarins, snakes, and Sumatran tigers.
It's a small zoo, so animals up close and personal. There isn't a really big habitat for any of the animals, so there isn't much for them to do except to pace. But kids and families really enjoyed their time there. It is small enough to manage for a field trip. Right next door, there is a splash pad and playground equipment that the kids enjoyed.
Rose B — Google review
Made a spontaneous stop on our road trip to this sweet little zoo! The grounds were well kept and the staff was friendly. We saw lots of animals! The wallabies were my favorite part. It was cool to get up-close and personal with all the animals.
Domi P — Google review
Such a cute little zoo. They do have 3 interactive areas. One with goats, one with wallabys and wallaroos, and one birt sanctuary. They have a tiger, snow leopards, red panda, and many more animals. There is plenty of room for RV's to park. It is handicap accessible.
Nicole B — Google review
Miller Park Zoo is the right size for a fun walk through. Most of the animals we saw were indoors because of the cold. We didn't interact with staff much but when we needed directions, they were helpful and friendly. Prices were affordable. Unfortunately, the cafe was closed, so we weren't able to support the zoo by eating lunch there. I recommend a visit. I recommend.
Elizabeth C — Google review
For being a smaller zoo we had a great time here. We went through the whole zoo twice in 2 hours but I think we saw every animal because they were all out and active. We loved the baby anyeater, it's the 1st time we've seen one of those.
Ashley R — Google review
My family and I loved this zoo. Love the different variety of animals. So much fun.

Nestled in Bloomington, Illinois, the David Davis Mansion is a stunning example of Victorian architecture that dates back to the early 1870s. This magnificent three-story home was built for David Davis, a prominent jurist and close associate of Abraham Lincoln. Alongside his wife Sarah, who played an influential role in their community, they left a lasting legacy that resonates through history. The mansion showcases period art and technology reflective of its time and has been meticulously restored to preserve its grandeur.
Judge David Davis made his money by land speculation; buying when Bloomington just got it's start and selling when Bloomington boomed in population in the 1800s. The house he and his wife had built - when he was nearly 60 - both was ornate and practical. Tours start right after the hour. You get a 20-minute video at 9:10, 10:10, 11:10 in a small visitors center by the property entrance. Then, an hour-long guided tour from someone well versed on Davis and the property of a dozen rooms in the house - everything on the main floor, second floor - including the servant's quarters - and the laundry area in the basement. Gives a sense for how the rich lived in the late 1800s - a time when quality workmanship was huge. They even had a brick outbuilding that would have been wood for nearly everyone else - to keep up appearances! The property stayed in the family for 80 years; so fortunately wasn't torn down or subdivided like most mansions of that time. We were the only ones on our tour - had every question answered - and our guide was willing to stay as long as needed.

Fabulous house! So glad we went there. Our tour guide was young and knowledgeable! I was so excited to be in a house that Abe Lincoln stood in. I was intrigued the whole time I spent there. Great experience and loved the stories! I would give it more than 5 stars.
Donna M — Google review
Beautiful house, we enjoyed hearing about the history and enjoyed the tour. They don’t make them like they use to. I caught a glare on a door that you could almost pass for a ghost… maybe Sara? Maybe she does not like all of the visitors? :)
Justin W — Google review
I really loved the history of it! Judge Davis had influence and helped president Lincoln! I also learned different information culturally about Christmas decorations and why the Teddy bear was called Teddy bear. It felt warm and nice. Usually mansions feel stuffy and museum like but this was not the case! They took good care of it and I really loved being there! The people that worked there went above and beyond with the tours and information!
Aimee J — Google review
We had such a wonderful time visiting the David Davis Mansion. Our tour guide, Jeff, gave us a long and detailed tour that was both informative and engaging. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and made the history of the mansion come alive. One highlight was learning about David Davis’s close connection to Abraham Lincoln, which added an even deeper historical significance to our visit. That piece of history was fascinating and memorable. We highly recommend the David Davis Mansion to anyone visiting Bloomington. It’s a beautiful historic home with a rich story, and with guides like Jeff, you’re guaranteed an excellent experience.

(And thank you fir the clarification about the County) We had a wonderful expirence there. Howie was our Guide. I could not believe how similar that mansion is to our modern conveniences now. It just shows how far we've come in technology. Also Judge Davis himself as a strangley unsung hero and historical figure in American history. It is shocking to me how little is written in this man. He was Acting Vice President of the United States and a Supreme Court Judge yet little to nothing outside of Wikipedia is written. McClean County has all 19,000 documents in exchange for them keeping the Mansion going as a mueseum piece and historic site basically. It's also shocking to me how well-perserved the site is, it's nearly how exactly it was way back when. My 1 year old daughter loved coming here and seeing everything so did my wife. I noticed one of the paintings being that of the 2nd French Revolution, and inquired about it. Nobody had ever asked about that painting. Come to find out it is a protest painting. Judge Davis had it for that reason. They also had political cartoons from the period which, according to the Guide, a lot of younger people wouldn't believe how little had changed in political discourse on this country. It was just a fun very educational expirence and I'm very glad this city and county is preserving this property. Thank you to everyone we met there on-site, you were all gracious hosts.

Pretty cool place if you’re into old Victorian homes and American history. The volunteers there were all very nice and gave a great tour. Would recommend. Just know that the video and tours start at the top of the hour and there isn’t much to see if you don’t go on the tour since you cannot access the interior of the house without a guide. So really no point to go after hours.
Evan M — Google review
I visited the mansion during their Christmas at the mansions festival. Most of the rooms were decorated for Christmas. There were many trees and other decorations. The mansion is always good. Place to visit throughout the year as they do themed room decorations on a regular basis.

The McLean County Museum of History, situated in Bloomington, is a captivating destination that offers a deep dive into the rich heritage of the county. Housed in a stunning Victorian building with roots dating back to 1892, this museum boasts an impressive collection of over 30,000 objects and artifacts. With seven galleries featuring both permanent and rotating exhibits, visitors can explore diverse aspects of local history, from significant personalities during the Civil War era to Native American and immigrant experiences.
This is a history museum on par with counties that have 10x the population of McLean County, IL. There was an entry level slightly below ground with information and a few exhibits - and then 3 floors that had multiple rooms with different themes such as farming, Abraham Lincoln, jobs in Central Illinois, and even a little kids are to play as if they were on a farm. All told, I counted 11 different rooms - and we spent 3.5 hours there. Some of the exhibits can get a bit wordy; if you read it all - you'd be there all day - but that's great for a deep dive for stuff you're interested in.

Just wanted to add a photo of the nearby Miller Davis building, taken on a clear evening in February of 2025. Interesting fact -- Abraham Lincoln spent some time here in the 1840's when he was a young practicing attorney in his 30's, prior to his political life.
Paul M — Google review
This place was awesome. We went on a free day and spent about 2 hours inside. There are many displays that show artifacts from a past time, all meticulously kept, with easy to read factoids by them. There are 4 floors of things to look at and do, including a miniature farm from ‘back in the day’ with activities for the kids. The library is packed full of books from modern day all way way back to the 1800s. If you are researching something and call ahead, they will pull any information they think could be relevant and have it on a table for you when you get there. All the staff was helpful and extremely polite.

The McLean County Museum of History is a well-curated museum that brings local history to life with engaging exhibits and interactive displays. The building itself is historic and adds to the experience. It’s an educational and enriching visit for all ages, especially for those interested in learning more about the region’s past and cultural development.

Review Date: April 18th, 2012 A pretty cool museum. I’m not sure what it is about this museum that I like but it’s a fun place to visit. It seems that every time I came here, there was always something new to discover. They had some fun and interactive exhibits that we played with and took a ton of goofy photos of us interacting with them. There were some cool exhibits on the history of certain things from the past. I’ve been here 3 times in total and each time was a blast. I have a bit of an interest in history, so it was fun to find out some local history of the area. I was surprised to see one of those single-engine planes on one of the lower levels. That was a fun discovery. Since I haven’t been there in awhile, I really don’t know what else to say about the museum. I’m sure the exhibits have changed since then so I don’t want to rattle on too much about stuff that might not be there anymore. It’s just one of those places that you need to see in person.
Joshua D — Google review
I was able to make it to the McLean Museum in time to see the exhibits they had it was a very nice and well kept the museum. Apparently this is actually a courthouse that Abraham Lincoln practiced law in, this time when I went in the exhibit was the pedal cars and stories about the early pioneers and early settlers of the nation. Definitely a nice time, you should try to go, if this is something that interests you.

Awesome museum.. for 10 dollars plus tax… you will learn a rich history about Mclean Town, Abraham Lincoln’s work in this town, towns evolution from Native Americans, Immigrants to what is now today… Great small but full of history museum. Highly recommended.

Constitution Trail is a scenic and well-maintained path that stretches between Bloomington and Normal, following the route of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. It offers a safe and relaxing environment for walking, running, or biking, with the added benefit of being around 10 degrees cooler than the surrounding area on hot summer days. While it's generally very safe, it's advisable to be cautious when alone in quiet areas. The trail is also home to a friendly cat named Constitution that visitors can greet.
Beautiful trail. I have not explored the entire trail. Used to go for evening walk in the trail stretch near the State Farm buildings.

My favorite place to walk & run- love how wooded and shaded it is. Thank you for the many public restrooms and water fountains.
J H — Google review
My favorite thing about Bloomington/Normal by far. I’ve visited and walked/jogged/biked this trail since I was in college and it never gets old. The trail runs through a large majority of Bloomington/Normal and takes you straight to Uptown Normal. I’ve used the path to walk to and from work and it is safe, quiet, serene, and so well kept. I oftentimes walk from different starting points and am always amazed at how long the trail runs. I find new legs of it all of the time! No graffiti, garbage, noise pollution, or negative experiences with other people on the trail. It truly is so nice living in a town with such a great walking space. We typically start at Underwood Park and choose which direction to walk from there. Highly recommend at all times of year!!
Jenna D — Google review
Great place to enjoy biking
Juan C — Google review
Amazingly beautiful, well maintained, and safe trail! I am a professor at ISU & I take biking breaks in between work, so relaxing to walk or run or bike! On hot summer days the trail is ~10 degrees cooler. Be careful on quiet cold days...go with someone, there has been very few incidents, I had a close call too. The probability is extremely low, but still be careful ladies!
Elahe J — Google review
There's a cat that wanders around the trail and I named them constitution. Say hi to constitution if you see them and give them a head pat and a "how do you do, partner?".
Salem — Google review
I run a 5k on this trail each year, and it is very beautiful! If I lived closer to the area, then I would definitely use it frequently!

A beautiful and well maintained trail. When I’m back in Bloomington, a long walk on the trail helps me shake off the dust of travel.

The Prairie Aviation Museum, situated at the former Rantoul National Aviation Center, is a captivating indoor-outdoor museum in Bloomington, IL. It features an array of vintage aircraft and helicopters, including over 30 military aircraft from World War II and beyond. The museum offers informative exhibits on air and space history, pilot simulators, and hosts Open Cockpit Day each month for visitors to sit in the cockpits and interact with pilots.
Delightful museum. Great history and wonderful staff.

Well-displayed wartime memorabilia. Outdoor walk-through with steps up to various cockpits of aircraft. The Huey helicopter was particularly interesting.

Great museum - we went on Open Cockpit day where they had the planes opened up. They had many volunteers who shared their stories of flying and combat that really enhanced the experience. $5 entry fee was well worth it!

Luisa M — Google review
Review Date: May 18th, 2012 These birds have been permanently grounded. Every childhood boy likes one of three things: planes, trains, or automobiles. I leaned towards things that could fly, especially at supersonic speeds. So, it came to my surprise that there was a aviation museum within a reasonable driving distance from my home. I have actually been here about 3 times total since my first visit. I think I was with Matt the first time here. I think we explored a bit of Bloomington-Normal before a concert in the evening. The museum itself is just a little ways off the one of the main busy roads that runs through Bloomington. I actually think this up the road from the Bloomington Airport. How fitting! It’s not a massive museum by any means. The building itself is probably no larger than your local fast food eateries. But within those small confines is a tremendous amount of history. Each time I’ve come here, I’ve signed the guest book and donated a few bucks on top of paying the admission fees. The price is listed on their website. It was $5/each for adults. As I said, the building itself housed a ton of information regarding aviation. They had a section dedicated to NASA. They had tons of props and displays scattered throughout. They had graphs with a ton of information. Suffice to say, I can’t put in words what photos do better. While I did supply photos below, due to limited storage space, I couldn’t upload nearly enough photos to show everything. While the inside was full of information and relics from aviation’s past, the things I was dying to see were outside. The things that flew in another time and in another place. On one of the trips, we lucked upon a volunteer who was giving tours. He gave us a quick tour of the jets, planes, and aircraft outside and then let us explore to our hearts content. A few of my family members were veterans of the military, mostly in the Rangers and Marines. My dad tried to enlist but due to a hearing issue, wasn’t allowed in. By the time I was ready to join, my body had too many injuries to even think I could try to enlist (I was a very active kid and while I never broke a bone, I did do a lot of damage to my joints). Matt was also in the Marines for an undetermined about of time. So, suffice to say we all had some interest in the military in some way, shape, or form. Following the path outside winds you around all that there is to see. It was extremely cool to be able to go up to any of the aviation vehicles and see them in person. Some of them had ladders that you could take up and see in to the cockpit. They are locked shut so don’t get any wild ideas of hopping in and taking off. I do think they have special events where they open them and allow people to get in and have their photos taken. Check their website for details on that and other events they have. In the end, this place was great to check out. I loved getting to see the jets up close and person. I took one of my favorite photos ever and it’s included below. Can you guess which that is? If you have kids that love aircraft or have a general interest yourself, do oneself a favor and check this place out if possible. “Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full.”

Have been here for a couple of shows and it's a really beautiful small venue and there are no bad seats! Bathrooms are nice and clean and staff is very helpful. There are alot of stairs though!

This space is a staple in our community, and also a fabulous place for a wedding! The location is wonderful for checking out art and local businesses.
Photography B — Google review
This is a very nice venue. The staff is always helpful and friendly. We have seen many shows at this facility. The venue is user friendly with clean restrooms and large foyer area. The acoustics are good and the seating is comfortable. There isn’t really a bad seat in the house. Good views from just about any seat you get. If I had to mention one drawback it might be the concessions area. It’s more like a snack area with candy bars, popcorn, and drinks. The selection is limited as far as that goes. We enjoy this venue over others we have been to because this one is more user friendly and classy. They continue to expand their variety of shows here from Comedy to Musicals, so there is something for all interests. We will continue to see shows at this venue. Keep up the good work.

My husband and I had our wedding here in March of 2022 and it was INCREDIBLE. Brian and the staff are amazing to work with and I would highly recommend this venue if you are wanting a beautiful blank slate wedding venue to work with that allows for you to pick and choose your own outside vendors! We used palace events for rentals to completely transform the space. Brian and the staff were extremely helpful with working out the logistics/ ins and outs of set up and take down with all the moving parts. Cannot recommend this venue enough!!! **photos taken by Carissa Mennen

The seats we picked online were not what we were expecting. The staff there helped us to get into a different set of seats that better accommodated our needs. We greatly appreciated the service they provided. Oh, and the show was great too! No bad seats to see or hear any of the performance!

A great place to see shows great audio and not a bad seat in the house. The outside events are always well organized affordable and fun. The most amazing venue in town to rent out for weddings and such very reasonable price for the memories of the omnius of the building!!! 🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍

This building was built in the 1921 and is beautiful. I saw the movie Napoleon Dynomite as part of it's 20th anniversary tour. Three of the actors talked after and took questions. I sat in the balcony and had a good view of the stage. The seats were ok but there isn't much leg room between the seats.

A wonderful theatre filled with employees who are passionate about cinema. Love the variety in screenings ranging from oldies but goodies to new releases. My favorite place to see a movie :)

I've been here many times since my childhood. Always a fun time! This old classic 1 screen theater has been nicely restored. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are raffles for free tickets or refreshments at every screening.
Astria P — Google review
The theater opened in 1937 and has a cool art deco flair from the era of great early theater buildings. It is owned by the city of Normal and operated by a non-profit. It was closed for a time in the 1990s, but reopened after being purchased and renovated by the city in 1993. This theater is a true treasure and worth a visit.

This theater is magnificent. Friendly staff. Anne was the manger on duty and along with Taylor provided excellent service! They even have a raffle for every showing where you can win a free ticket and popcorn. All you need is your ticket stub. Cheap seats, snacks and movies that you won’t see playing anywhere else. Love this place!
Scott A — Google review
I photograph weddings throughout Illinois (Ernst Jacobsen Photography) and recently had the awesome opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Normal Theater. It has been gorgeously restored in a beautiful art deco vibe! The inside restoration includes plus, coral colored seating, blue, maroon and salmon colored walls, high-modern style aisle lights and an elegantly layered ceiling of neon lights. Aside from the unique visuals of the theater, it is conveniently located in the middle of Uptown Normal so we're just a few steps for ISU's Quad and possible reception venues whether Medici (for smaller weddings) or the Marriott. Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique venue to hold your wedding ceremony.
Ernst J — Google review
The Normal Theater is a great historical venue refurbished to look the way it did in the 1920s and is run by volunteers. We love the the variety of films available. Admission is reasonable, popcorn is only $1 and they even have a drawing or trivia before the show with prizes! Everyone is so friendly. It's like stepping back in time! Those ceiling lights in the photo are real neon lights. Just be sure to dress accordingly. In the winter, they turn up the heat quite high.

Farmers Markets
The Downtown Bloomington Farmers Market is a vibrant producer-only market that takes place every Wednesday and Saturday from May to November in the historic Museum Square. Visitors can explore a wide array of locally grown produce, poultry, beef, flowers, plants, baked goods, handmade crafts, and artisanal food items while enjoying live music. It's an excellent opportunity to engage with the Bloomington community and support local growers and artisans.
Visited the farmers market for the first time, and we really enjoyed it! What friendly people, both visitors and vendors. Tons of delicious baked goods, in addition to fresh and interesting produce. People, dogs, kiddos, and lots of smiles. Great way to start a Saturday morning. The market is essentially set up like a U, wrapping around three sides of the square. Stop at Lab Coffee, inside the Red Raccoon game shop, for a great cup of coffee, specialty drink, or acai bowls! There aren't really any food vendors at the market, just a lot of baked goods, produce, crafts, and preserves - just fyi, in case you are planning on grabbing a bite while here - you'd be limited to a good number of excellent quality baked goods. We can't wait to go back, and would definitely recommend visiting!

Love going to the farmers market. There are so many different vendors there that have fresh vegetables. I also like the honey vendors. New this last year were two cheese vendors both of which have wonderful products.

The farmer's market is a great place to buy sweets, meats, sauces, and hand crafted items like some really pretty jewelry. There is usually a singer present as well as some open store fronts for galleries. Nice to just walk around even if not buying anything.

This one of the larger farmers markets that I have attended. There is a large selection of local grown produce and meat. We have made it a habit of getting some mushrooms from one local dealer and always try to different types prepared with leeks and garlic. I have never been disappointed with anything we have purchased at the local farmers market from brats to micro greens. Everyone we dealt was very knowledgeable and friendly. We make the trip every weekend.

The Children's Discovery Museum, located in uptown Normal, is a fantastic destination for families seeking an engaging and educational experience. Spanning three stories, this interactive museum features a variety of exhibits designed to spark curiosity and creativity in children. Young visitors can explore healthy eating at the market, take the wheel of a combine in the nation's largest children's agriculture exhibit, or unleash their artistic talents in the Art Studio.
Visited on Sunday 12/10/2023. This is an awesome museum. Three floors of learning and fun play for kids of all ages. I loved that there were so many play areas and activities for toddler aged children here. We brought two babies and they both enjoyed our visit. The time really flew by while we were here. Easy to spend hours. We will definitely be coming back Visited again on Sunday 2/18/2024. Both babies had a great time again. The staff were very helpful and gave us an ice pack when our oldest hit his head. Gift shop items are priced a little high but we did buy some paint markers and a coloring book.

3 floors of fun for kids of all ages! My two (4 & 5) had a ball running around and climbing on practically everything. There's plenty of learning materials, but the activity engagement is outstanding. They were constantly on the move, shifting from one "wow!" to the next. Expect to spend a minimum of an hour here, upwards of 3 - 4.

This place was amazing! We met up with family here so the 6 kids could all play together! They loved it! They never wanted us leave the current floor, but when they went to the next floor up, there was something even MORE exciting to do there! They also let you leave and come back all day, your receipt gets you in all day. You can also go get food (or bring in food) and eat at the tables on the 2nd floor. Super super helpful and awesome!!! We will be back!

The best children’s museum I’ve ever been to; definitely better than anything in Dallas, TX. We always make it a point to visit when we’re in town and my kids always want to go back. A fantastic place to play, explore, and learn, for the whole family.
David M — Google review
Five stars because it's a great experience for my kids as they don't come here often (maybe once a year when we visit family). If we were local this would quickly lose its value. A lot of the exhibits haven't changed since I was a kid 20 years ago, when they probably should have.
Alexis J — Google review
For how big the place is you would think it would be better. Half the stuff for the stations were broken like the 2 way call booth, the stomp the bug floor projector or pieces missing like the build your own sock puppets was some nasty looking socks and there was 1 eyeball and a hat to decorate the socks with. We found ourselves struggling to do things so we could say we got our moneys worth. We traveled 1½ hrs each way for not a whole lot. It was okay for a one time visit but won't return.
Paige W — Google review
There are lots of things to do. They have three floors of activities. The open floor plan makes it hard to lose your children. Smiling and polite staff everywhere. My four children are between the ages of two and eleven. They all had a blast. The gifts in the gift shop are not too expensive. It was fun, and they were able to leave with souvenirs. We will definitely return.
Qeren Y — Google review
My son had an absolute blast and barely even wanted to leave the first floor! I've never been in a place like this so it was really neat to experience for me as well! It was so interactive for both the parents and child! They also do an amazing job of consistently keeping it picked up!

Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, located in Bloomington, Illinois, has a rich history dating back to the early days of Euro-American settlement. Covering 87 acres and adorned with mature trees, this active burial ground is home to numerous beautiful monuments and represents a diverse cross-section of Bloomington society. Notable figures such as David Davis, cabinet members, senators, representatives, a Civil War general, and sports stars like Charles Radbourn find their final resting place here.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds, grass, trees. Occasional joggers and dog walkers on the property - people need to pick up their pet's waste. Thank you!

It is a very well-maintained cemetery. I've visited many cemeteries in my lifetime, but I have never seen a cemetery that offers a scavenger hunt. It's a list of things you can find in the cemetery: star, lamb, dog, acorn, heart, wings, etc. There's a wooden structure near the entrance where you can pick up a list, if you'd like to participate in the scavenger hunt.
Janine C — Google review
Cemeteries are for the living and Evergreen has always been a positive experience! I've been coming here for the annual Cemetery Walk in the autumn and to look after two (2) plots. Pathways are clear to ride your bike and walk your dogs. Friends, please do your part and keep Evergreen clean! Lastly, if you see a person (including myself) at a grave, that is NOT an open invitation to walk over to that person and impose your religious beliefs. Religion and/or lack of religion is a personal choice. Be respectful of others- even if they don't share your religion/practices.
Sy G — Google review
I have never buried someone there, but everyone seems to be resting comfortably. I go here about once a week to walk, think, talk to God, and read headstones. It is fascinating some of the graves are so old and in such good shape. This is a wonderful piece of history.
J W — Google review
While beautiful and full of history, I am deeply disappointed with Evergreen Cemetery’s policy of throwing away grave decorations and memorials only a week after they were placed on the grave. While I understand real flowers need to be discarded, I fail to understand why fake flowers and other items are tossed after one week. And then to require people to purchase a $300 vase from the cemetery in order to avoid their items being discarded? That is wrong. Many people who visit weekly simply cannot afford to bring new decorations every week. It is incredibly disrespectful to visitors, and gives off the impression that this cemetery views the family and friends of the deceased as profit rather than grieving members of the community.
Abrie K — Google review
I have loved ones buried here and have always found the staff to be very helpful and supportive. They go above and beyond to take care of the families they work with. I've also attended their events and am truly inspired by the staff's dedication to the community and the families whose loved ones are buried there.

Enjoyed the entertainment from our local hockey team. It has been great to have a team back in town. The crowd was perfect harmony of encouragement and banter. Concessions staff were fantastic. The pausing people walking to their seats is kind of funny for the type of league it is, but I get it.

Wonderful staff and a decent size venue. Parking is kinda of complicated however there are many paid lots nearby for easier access to the venue. We had an amazing time seeing my favorite band live. Definitely would go to another concert here

REO SPEEDWAGON and Loverboy put on a very good concert! Fairly quick in and out of building. Parking could be better as well as the floor seats, but overall, a good evening. We were on the floor, 2nd row center. The sound quality was decent. A pretty nice arena.

Went to see WWE SuperShow on June 22nd 2024. The Arena is lets just say unique for seating it's normal ballpark like seats. For handicap it didn't see accessable as I witnessed a woman on crutches be told to go up and down steeper steps with no regard of her safety downward. Staff didn't seem like they cared about the people outside of the guardrail by the main stage for the wrestling event. Good lighting, sound and usage of video boards. The event was 5/5 from the crowd and performers themselves. Staff wasn't very helpful for when they opened as well just opened and door and didn't say anything about if we could proceed further. Parking is really simple. Option one the parking garage or option two the lots they charged $10 for one and $20 for the other. Online it didn't mention this so to some I'm guessing this was a slap in the mouth.

I had a good time last night seeing Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Bayley, and Gunther. The Grossinger arena was a decent arena. My only complaint is that Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair were on the flyer for the show. However, they didn't wrestle last night.

Avoid at all costs. Attended Megadeth show here Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The show must not have been well advertised, because the stage was in the middle of the main floor and there were a lot of available seats. With less than three songs left in the set, "security" got ahold of a fan, one guy. It must have been brutal, because of what happened next... The band's singer, Dave Mustaine STOPPED THE SONG to tell the FOUR "security" guards to stop hitting the guy. The scuffle (if you can call it that) moved to the aisle and from where I was, I could see two staff holding the guy up and two punching him in the face. In what world is this ok? Even if he was drunk, you gotta rough him up like that?? Mustaine continued on, he said the show was over unless those bully "security" were removed from the building. A few minutes (and more wasted time that could be spent playing music) later, it was reported the problematic people were gone from the building, along with Megadeth's time to perform. They played their final number and the show ended, but the atmosphere was definitely changed. If this is the way this place runs at a fraction of capacity, imagine how crazy it would be with MORE people in attendance? The arena has not issued any kind of public statement to explain, justify, apologize for, etc the actions of it's staff and the incredibly unprofessional and dangerous manner in which they conduct themselves, despite repeated requests to. Many others, as well as myself will issue our reply though, do not visit this venue. You are not safe here, you are not welcome here. Maybe it's just a heavy metal thing, maybe it's just we who aren't welcome or safe here. I'd love some clarity, but I doubt I'll ever receive any. So whatever, I'm gonna do what's best for me, and that's never return to this dangerous, unsafe space.
Shaun R — Google review
I have spent many hours in this arena, with my son's hockey practices and games, professional hockey and concerts and it is a great venue! Went to one of the 1st concerts since Covid. Plenty of free parking within walking distance. The security check, food sales seating all went smooth. Mask policy was being followed and everyone in our group had a great time! The sound was awesome and I would definitely go back for other events

It has really gone down hill. Same greasy food trucks, a lot of repeat items for sale, I didn’t feel like there was as many antique items as in the past, a lot of the booths looked like garage sales, half as many booths so they’re used to be.

At the Interstate Center. Used to be monthly, but since other events have interfered, the August market was the first since May. We've been attending for years. Usually find some things to buy. This month, we came across 2 record albums of the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band from the 1960's. Very timely since we're planning a trip to N. O. later this year! I used to work at the cast theater in Bloomington Illinois when it was a theater I was in charge of opening and closing the theater. I used to start up the projection and put the film in if it broke I’d have to go up there and slice the film in together it had a balcony, but usually we had the balcony closed cause there usually wasn’t enough people in the theater. I do remember watching the black hole was a film. I think I was an Usher, but I became a part-time manager. . I do remember watching the black hole was a film. I think I was a Usher, but I became a part-time manager, so it’s kind of interesting to see that that theater is still open. and it’s a four or five story building and up in the top floor. There was a model T up there. There was a lot of antiques cause the elevator broke a long time ago. Way before I became the manager
Andrew S — Google review
First, I’ve travelled extensively around multiple venues around the country big and small to see different rock concerts. Castle theater staff and bar access were great. However, everything else was subpar. Being a small venue, the acoustics were not good quality. The stage is low to the ground so viewing ability on the ground level is hindered if at a sold out show. The standing room layout is strange with random metal dividing bars everywhere. And the standing room isn’t tiered much so if you have tall people in front of you a few rows up you won’t get a clear view. All in all it’s an old venue. It’s more for nostalgia than quality music productions, especially for larger acts.

Took my kid there for her birthday and absolutely regret it!!! Batting cages don't work, claw games are rigged to close before they even touch the prizes, and the Mini Golf course looks like absolute crap!!! Only nice thing they have is the Go Kart track. We were a party of about 15 people and had reservations for a Wednesday evening dinner. Ordered the sea bass for the main meal which was really good and well presented. Had a pretty big piece of tiramisu cake for dessert with an espresso martini. I would give this place a 5-star rating for the espresso martini alone since it was that good.

Love it! My favorite dish is the raviolis (both of them are great 1) cheese and 2)beef). Great sweet wine options! Deserts are also excellent. Staff it’s amazing, always super nice.

The food, atmosphere and service was wonderful! My small group and I had our Christmas dinner together at Biaggi's this year. The food is always delicious and they are great about any food needs you might have. I had the Dijon Salmon, with spinach and substituted broccoli for the pasta. It was a very generous portion and prepared perfectly. Loved it!

Epiphany Farms Restaurant is a must-visit for those seeking high-quality, farm-to-table dining. This open, rustic-chic eatery offers seasonal farm-to-table cooking with international influences. Sourcing all its ingredients from local farms, the restaurant ensures the freshest food possible. The menu features a variety of fresh and unique dining options that are highly recommended by visitors.
Had a great dinner at Epiphany Farms for Mothers Day. The Lemon Drop martinis were so good. Ordered a salad that had what we thought was candied pecans, which the wife is allergic but ended up being candied pepitas. Salad was delicious. I had pork chop with candied potatoes and she ordered the NY strip with creamy potatoes. The steak was the best part of the meal. It was a little loud in the restaurant but still an enjoyable evening with super good food... all really farm to table!

I had a fine meal here. Often the vegan options at restaurants are sub-par or considered as discretionary additions to the menu. The effort put into your vegan dishes was pristine and delicious for people unfamiliar with vegan appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The zero-proof orange drink had changing, lasting notes and changed how I view zero-proof drinks. Great atmosphere and volume, both indoor and outdoor seating. Thank you for a great experience.

Food was amazing. Loved the cornflake chicken. Pleasantly surprised by the sashima, I ended up ordering seconds! The only down side was it took 35 minutes for the creme brulee to arrive. The server acknowledged the delay, which was appreciated.

Epiphany Farms in Bloomington, IL, is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, welcoming, and just plain fun. The service here is consistently excellent and the staff goes out of their way to make sure you’re having a great time, and it shows. The food? Outstanding. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor. Whether you're coming in for a casual bite or a special evening out, the quality is always top-notch. The added bonus of being able to order food from Anju Above brings even more variety and creativity to the menu and it’s a treat every time. Cocktail lovers, take note: the drinks are just as thoughtfully crafted as the food. The cocktail menu is creative and balanced, and there’s also a great selection of bourbon for those who appreciate a good pour. Billy, the mixologist, is a standout and he's not only skilled behind the bar but also a fantastic and friendly presence whether he's bartending or serving tables. A special shoutout to Vince, the manager, who runs the restaurant with the perfect mix of professionalism, kindness, and fun. He and his team clearly care about the guest experience and it makes all the difference. And don’t skip their take-home market items, especially the drunken cherries and lavash crackers as they are absolutely worth grabbing on your way out. Just another example of how Epiphany Farms brings creativity and quality to every corner of what they do. Epiphany Farms offers more than just a meal - it’s a full experience. If you’re in Bloomington, don’t miss it.

Our 23rd Wedding Anniversary was yesterday,9/28/25! We were in Bloomington on a side mission and planned to have dinner afterwards. My husband suggested Epiphany or another restaurant. I wasn’t sure b/c I don’t like Sushi, but was intrigued by “farm to table” feature. Then, nice we were having trouble deciding my husband said let’s just go home and eat at another restaurant. I said no, we’re here let’s try Epiphany! What an AMAZING experience!!! The service, especially our server, was attentive, exuberant plus knew the menu well, so was an excellent foodie guide! The manager stopped by several times to check on us, and she was also extremely knowledgeable and excited to share details about the businesses and the farm! We were asked about dessert and was thinking of choosing the Choc-Blondie, so asked our server for direction, he said don’t order dessert “I have something special planned for you and their preparing it now!” OMG!!! He brought the Choc-Blondie out with a flourish!! EVEN ADDED A SPARKLER! This place, their care, attention to detail, FOOD, experience, atmosphere was second to none!! What a wonderful anniversary dinner!!! We will totally be back!!! To Epiphany and Staff: Game changer!! You are on a whole different level and I can’t wait to return!!😋

WOW! This has easily become our favorite restaurant on our very first visit here. The food was phenomenal! Very cute atmosphere and vibes are immaculate. The menu is huge as they have multiple kitchens, so there is something for everyone. Staff is so friendly and service is top notch. Your drinks will never run low and they are constantly pre-bussing the tables. Lucy was incredible and she had so many wonderful suggestions. Experience was fantastic, will definitely be making many trips back.

Stopped by here on my way down from Chicago for brunch. I got the chicken and waffles benedict and matcha latte. It gets really busy and I sat at the bar. Food came out quick after placing an order. Chicken and waffles - The waffles were soft on the inside but had a good crispy texture. The chicken was a little salty for me but flavour was decent. The hollandaise sauce wasn't too bad either. I opted for the fruits instead of the home fries so I might have to stop by again and try that next time 4/5

Carl's Ice Cream Factory is a popular spot with two locations in Bloomington and Normal. They offer a wide range of hard ice cream flavors made in-store from fresh ingredients, as well as soft-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt. In addition to their delicious ice cream, they also serve sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. While some recent reviews have mentioned issues with service quality, many visitors still enjoy the great food and variety of tasty ice cream flavors available at Carl's Ice Cream Factory.
I've been going here for years on dates with the husband! Carls is a local treasure and the best ice cream (and French fries) in town. Their soft serve blackberry ice cream makes my mouth water, but any of their flavors l've tried have been delicious! Prices are very reasonable for the portions. May not be the "healthiest" ice cream in town but certainly is the tastiest! Service has always been great and fast. The inside is nostalgic and clean. I always feel welcome here.

This is a nice little diner-type spot with food and ice cream. I have yet to try the actual food, but I did find myself tempted by some of the lunch specials they had going on. Instead, I went for two scoops.if.Almond Joy in a waffle cone and it was pretty darn good. The atmosphere is kitchy and fun with a 50s feel to it.

Girl working behind counter extremely rude. She gave us our sodas i couldnt belive how small the medium soda was so i asked her about she fired back very rudley i told you it was a medium. Then my meal comes out completely wrong didnt get what ordered at all. The service here absolutely sucks. How ever the food is very good so they do have that going for them……. Even with free refils that is absolutely tiny anyone in there right mind would question it asking if that. Was a medium..

Poorly managed is an understatement! Nothing like paying 26 bucs for 2 orders and get the food of one order. Stopped in last night for 2 Pulled Pork sandwiches and 2 orders of baked beans. Got home and only got a 1/2 cup of baked beans in each order and the pulled pork had very little meat on this. we have ordered this several times and this time we got screwed. I go in today to say something and no one gives a rip. I am done with these clowns. It seems they feel they are perfect and if you have a problem they make you feel like you're trying to screw them out of more food or money. They can screw someone else they are now off my list of places to eat.
Ken F — Google review
I would just get ice cream here. Food orders end up being a disaster. I've brought my family here because it's an iconic local business, but every time we order food something gets messed up. The last straw for me was when we recently went and ordered some hamburgers. And like other reviewers comments it took forever. We saw others that ordered their food way after I did and they got their food within a few minutes. After about 20 minutes, I inquired about my order. The place was being run by teens, not one adult in sight. Finally got one teens' attention who took some action to see what happened to my order. So kudos to the one gal that took action to get my order done. She asked the kids in the back about my order and they all looked confused. Luckily I had requested a receipt for my order because they couldn't find my order and by this point had waited over 1/2 an hour. By the time my family got our food, it was almost an hour later and the burgers were burnt to a crisp, hardly edible. Will never order food here again. Gave 2 stars because of their ice cream otherwise it would have been zero stars (if that were an option).
K L — Google review
This place is so poorly managed. Lines are always super long and slow. Girls working have no respect for customers or service. Girl spilled ice on the floor, wiped it up then went on garbing food without washing hands. Everything is dirty and messy. Can’t hear clearly over the drive-thru speaker. Order a butterscotch dipped cone and the dip was absolutely rancid and gross! Stood in line for another 20 min to show the girl. No apology. She gave me a plain smaller cone. Such a shame. Owners need to do better!

Ropp Jersey Cheese, located in Normal, IL, is a family-owned dairy farm that has been producing top-quality cheese for seven generations. Their Jersey cows produce milk with higher butterfat content and superior nutrition compared to other breeds. Visitors rave about the delicious cheese, addictive milk, and exceptional ice cream available at the farm store. In addition to a variety of cheeses and flavored milks, guests can also enjoy interacting with the cows and calves on the farm.
This place has amazing cheese curds! Friendly service and great prices!! We are crossing through the state from a trip in WI; I was so disappointed because we didn't get a chance to go to any of the WI cheese factories and get fresh cheese. (A favorite childhood memory). Thankfully, I found Ropps Jersey Cheese on our route towards home. It was only 4 min off the highway, and I convinced the others in the car to let us stop. We didn't have a lot of time to spare and this shop was perfect for that. Everything was organized, clean, and easy to find. The 2 gentlemen in there were also really helpful! We purchased some honey Stix and 6 different kinds of cheese curds. So far, all have been delicious; with a favorite being the garlic jalapeño! Everyone in the car is loving them! (Some had never even heard of cheese curds before!). I will definitely be checking to see if they can ship more once I get home! Highly recommend! 🤗

This place has the best authentic cheese selections in central IL. I’m biased as a personal friend of the owners, but I’ve seen firsthand the dedication to cleanliness and quality, how well they take care of their cows (they live twice their life expectancy on Ropp’s farm), and how they always try to offer most competitive prices. It’s a family business through and through so what’s not to love? Check em out!

Haven't tried the product yet but Ray Jr. was so pleasant ! Will follow up once we have tasted one ( of many) of our selections! What a nice stop 💛 Wanted to add to the previous review as we have now tried (and finished) a few of the products we purchased. The queso was sooooo good as was the beef sticks and cheese curds. Miller Park is a beautiful and well-balanced environment for both adults and kids. The playground, water splash park, and walking path make it a great outing for families. The small zoo on the premises exceeded expectations with more animals than anticipated, making it just the right size for families with young children. However, some visitors expressed concerns about the lack of lighting in the playground area during darker hours, which could pose safety risks and potential vandalism.
Hmmm... reviews for the zoo seem to be commingled with reviews for the larger park. I wrote a separate review under "Miller Park Zoo". This review is for the broader park. Great place to walk or relax. Has a splash pool for kids, a pavilion for events, paddle boating on a lake, a stocked lake for fishing, trails to walk around, picnic areas, a gazebo, a baseball field, a monument to war veterans, a monument to firefighters, lots of open fields both in the sun, and shade, and easy access to downtown Bloomington. After the zoo, we spent 2 hours just exploring.
Dave C — Google review
For a smaller zoo it was really great. We went through it a couple times in 2 hours but I think we saw every animal. My kids loved the baby anteater, it was our 1st time seeing one of those.
Ashley R — Google review
This is a good place to see a ballgame. There is plenty of parking although one downside is it takes a while to get out and on your actual way home. There are many good food options. The giveaways are quality. We enjoy going here several times a year
Ryan ( — Google review
The animals that were out were fun and active. Kids loved watching the otters play. A lot of the animals were not out because it's still chilly out. It was disappointing that indoor viewing was very very limited. This zoo takes about an hour to see everything. The volunteers were helpful and were happy to answer kids questions The highlight was the playground for my kids.... it was challenging and had a great slide. It kept my 5 children ages 2-13 very entertained.

Illinois State University, established in 1857, is the oldest public university in Illinois and is located in Normal, just north of Bloomington. The campus features a mix of classrooms and dormitories and is a defining element of the town's culture. The university's central area, known as The Quad, boasts well-maintained green spaces with abundant trees and sidewalks where students gather.
It was Homecoming at its always a segregated tale of two cities: ISU (Predominately) White Version and The Black Alumni Version. I chose the ladder because it represents the Soul of the institution. To make an integrated effort work you must hsve all parties at the decision making table not in a Whitewashed way but in a true multicultural way. Our tailgate draws everyone. Their activities doesn't.

This University has no respect for privacy specially the School of IT. Think twice before filing an accomodation. I will not recommend this University to anyone. The bullying and harassment are so persuasive.

My first review was removed, which just further proves my point that this University is a scamming/stealing joke. I attended a semester here, after leaving the service. I ran through hoops to get all the paperwork needed for my GI Bill. Completed everything and was told that I was good for the semester. Upon completion of the semester, my account was locked and I was told I had outstanding balances all of a sudden. Long story short they never applied my GI Bill, and then tried to gaslight me and say it was my fault for not "Ensuring that we knew you wanted to use your benefits" which is actual insanity considering the month it took just to run around to court house etc. to fill out everything for my GI. VETERANS STAY AWAY.

The space offers ample room for students to gather and socialize, with its well-lit pathways and proximity of campus facilities. It's also a popular spot for photography due to its stunning architecture and lush greenery.
The quad is beautiful in every season! Year after year I'm blown away by how well kept the grounds are. The space is well-lit and has lots of space for students to hang out. I always really loved how close together everything is at ISU, making it easy to walk from place to place.

Lots of great memories here. I took my wife recently to show her around my old stomping grounds before the students were back in school. They've done a wonderful job with the landscaping and upkeep of the whole area. Very nice! I can imagine the students are once again enjoying the picturesque surroundings as they're now back for the fall semester. All the best, Redbirds!

Amazing historic gas station in downtown Normal, IL. It has recently been restored and brought back to its original condition. Everything looks perfect and the atmosphere brings you back to the early days of Route 66, when this service station was founded. It's a place where you must stop when driving on the Mother Road, one of the best preserved gas stations that you'll find between Chicago and Santa Monica!
Federico S — Google review
A wonderfully restored, historic service station/cafe on the old Route 66. Beautifully done. Great to see extant buildings such as this one representing an era of American history. A bygone time of roadtrips, automobiles, reading maps and places to stop and experience something far different than where you just drove from. Stop in and share a little conversation and stories with Terri.

Terri is terrific! My brother and I are traveling Route 66, and stopped in to say hi! Terri is so knowledgeable about route 66 that this place is a must stop! My brother drove route 66 two years ago and told me he stopped here, so naturally, I wanted to meet "Employee of the month " Terri! She pointed us to some awesome stops along the way like The Giants, The Giant Hot Dog holding Giant, and my favorite stop..."Motorheads bar and grill". My brother and I also purchased several used books and nick knacks that she offers in her establishment. Profits from sales go to fund the route 66 preservation society! Thank you, Terri, for all your wonderful knowledge, help, direction and friendly personality! Oh yeah...Terri loves to converse! Don't forget to ask about the route 66 chicken art! Lol

I go here often to walk my dog. It's a great place to go in the summer especially when it starts to get too hot because there's a good amount of shade it makes it more tolerable when the temperatures get too high. There's a great amount of places to sit if you need to just relax. Good place if you're older or had disabilities and have to take breaks in between your walking. It's also a great place to go if you want to have a quick lunch at a picnic table on your lunch break from work or whatever. It's a good place to go that's not busy to take a child and a small playground area. It is also scenic if you like looking at older homes. Historic homes

Upper Limits did fantastic with our large group from the YMCA! We had around 300 kids climbing in one day, and the staff were not only extremely helpful, but also amazingly positive with our kiddos and counselors! We worked together all day, and I have no doubt we will be booking again for next year. Big shout out to Carter as our contact, Olivia for the help with waivers, and Pierce, Hunter, and John who helped us belay. Our kids had such a blast, thank you all so much!

Super chill atmosphere and very helpful staff. My daughter’s first time here. Luke and Chloe were super awesome and inviting! Chloe belayed my daughter several times and was fantastic and encouraging. The indoor routes were cool and the handholds are much different than where my daughter climbs, so that was cool. My daredevil took advantage of the awesome weather today and scaled the outer wall. Will be back👊🏼

With 20 selections including stouts, ambers, IPAs, lagers, wheat beers, ciders, and seltzers available, there's something for every beer enthusiast to try.
Taylor at Keg Grove Brewery is such a sweetheart! Super helpful giving food recos nearby and all around great atmosphere! If we lived in the area, we'd definitely be making this place a regular. Very solid beers! Took some home from their canned selection.

Visited on a typical Thursday evening and enjoyed the crowd that was there. Must have been some event going on before I came by. I liked the indoor and outdoor seating areas including the small area on the 2nd floor. The selection of beers on tap was great. Only thing I didn't like was that KGBC was not doing flights that day. Overall, great brewery that I would definitely visit again if in the area.
Ketan P — Google review
Keg Grove Brewing Company: A Toast to History and Hops Nestled in Bloomington's historic Empire Street, Keg Grove Brewing Company pours equal parts craft beer and community spirit into every pint. Founded in 2018 by neighbors-turned-brewers Jeffrey Mroz, Mike Hoff, and Tyler Cox, this neighborhood hub occupies a converted cycle shop with industrial-charm—visible brewing tanks, a mezzanine overlook, and Constitution Trail proximity creating an inviting "beer version of a coffee house". The name itself is a homage to Bloomington's 19th-century moniker, "Keg Grove," inspired by local lore of settlers' abandoned whiskey kegs discovered by Kickapoo tribes—a story the brewery playfully reimagines with ale. Their "Beer First, Community First" ethos shines through family-friendly spaces and approachable brews. First Flight: Fruit-Forward Refreshment • Blueberry Wheat: A sunny patio sipper with jammy berry notes and crisp wheat backbone. • Strawberry Rhubarb Wheat: Tangy-sweet balance evoking summer pie, sans crust. • Cotton Dress Pants Peach Wheat: Juicy stone fruit meets subtle floral lift—effortlessly smooth. • La Cobra Grande Mexican Lager: Clean, crackery malt with a whisper of lime—crushable and bright. Second Flight: Patriotism and Playfulness • Cherry O's Sour Cherry Wheat: Puckering tartness mellowed by dark cherry richness. • Outdoor Veterans American Ale: Caramel malt salute with earthy hop resilience. • Cub Check Blonde Ale: Gentle honeyed malt—a crowd-pleasing umpire. • Grass Assassin American Light Ale: Lawnmower-friendly with grassy hops and breezy finish. Third Flight: Bold Experiments • Lighten Up Frances Kölsch: Delicate pear notes over biscuit malt—German precision. • Duck Knuckles Dry Hopped Sour: Funk-forward with citrus rind acidity. • 22 Hefeweizen: Classic banana-clove cloudiness, unfiltered and proud. • Devil's Lettuce West Coast IPA: Pine-resin terpenes punch through grapefruit zest—a dank delight. Molly Nord’s team curates these flights with infectious enthusiasm, ensuring each tasting tells a story. The brewery’s anniversary celebrations and weekly trivia nights cement its status as a community anchor. Pizza Payaa: The Friday Night Legend Every Friday, Pizza Payaa’s food truck transforms Keg Grove’s patio into Bloomington’s most coveted pizza destination. Voted "Best Pizza in Uptown" for their hand-mixed, cold-fermented dough and house-made vegan mozzarella, here’s what to expect: Menu Highlights The Big Slice • Artisan Pan Pizzas: Sicilian-style crusts—crisp caramelized base with cloud-light interior. • Four Cheese with Basil • Pepperoni • Honey Badger Voted the top ten best pizza in the world at the Los Vegas Pizza Expo Leslie and KayCee Heinz, the culinary duo behind Pizza Payaa food truck, craft a crust that patrons describe as "stealing the show"—crispy yet ethereal, supporting toppings like "flavorful architecture." Owner Adam’s NYC-trained craftsmanship shines in every airy cornicione, with diners noting it’s "the best pizza in Bloomington-Normal... worth stalking their pre-orders". Pair your slice with Keg Grove’s Duck Knuckles Sour for a tangy contrast, or the Cub Check Blonde to let the pizza shine. The Verdict Keg Grove masters community brewing with accessible, well-crafted beers in a space that feels like a neighborhood living room. Paired with Pizza Payaa’s Friday residency—a match of "ungodly good" pizza and vibrant brews—it’s a Bloomington essential where history, hops, and crust converge deliciously.

Loved this place! Last visited 4/20/24. We attended wearing "Big Lebowski" tshirts, not knowing they were holding a Big Lebowski festival in the city center! We had a photo taken with "The Dude". Great selection of beers, and the staff is quite knowledgeable about their products. Atmosphere is relatively spartan, but it IS a brewery, after all. I have been here a few times in the past, and I stop by whenever I am in town. A nice place to visit.
Bob K — Google review
The Dude abides... Wrapping up a trip to Bloomington with Keg Grove was a great end point to a day trip. A coworker who used to live in Bloomington suggested this place and since they had fruity beer, it took no convincing Emily to swing by there with me. We walked in and it was packed. There was a retirement party going on that kept the single bartender busy with not just them but also slinging drinks behind the bar. We didn't have to wait too long to grab my beer and Emily's flight. We took a seat over by the sweet The Big Lebowski beer tanks. That's right, the beer tanks had Donny, Walter and The Dude from The Big Lebowski on it. I included a photo of the tanks below. I'm not a diehard fan of the movie but I can appreciate this homage for what it is. After being a bit let down at Lil Beaver Brewery, Keg Grove hit it home. The beers we ordered were exactly was we expected them to taste like based on their names. Mine was a Holey Jeans (blueberry wheat) and Emily's flight was Holey Jeans, Cotton Dress Pants (peach wheat), Keg Grove Cream Ale, and Cupcheck (pilsner). Emily and I really liked the Holey Jeans and she especially liked the Cotton Dress. Since I was driving, I stuck to just the one beer but Emily grabbed a coozie, a 16 oz. Cotton Dress, we both grabbed some stickers and a magnet and headed outside. While she was enjoying her last beer before we left, it started pouring down. Everyone booked it inside but we stood under the canopy to avoid the loud crowd inside. My only issue with Keg Grove was the single bartender. Not sure if it was busier than normal but for a Friday and a retirement party booking the upstairs area, I feel like they should've had two working. But I will say that the one working was very peppy and was slinging drinks without seemingly stressing out. Until next time Donny, Walter and The Dude.
Joshua D — Google review
Awesome brewery with a great selection of craft beers!
Carson S — Google review
Nice little Brewery. I didn't ask if they have white Russians but they do name their brewing system after Walter, Donny, and The Dude. They have 20 selections including stouts, ambers, IPA, lager, wheat, cider, seltzer, and more. They did not have any big beers while I was there but it looked like they had a few bourbon barrels in the wings. Service was busy but friendly. I tend to like breweries where you get to sit where the action is and they have that. They also have a large patio and garage doors that open in the summer to create a larger space. I am a fan of the atmosphere. It is fun stop.
Adam D — Google review
Just opened but already I like this place. Nice space. Good beers. There's some space at the bar and a few tables downstairs with tables upstairs as well. I've had a few of their beers & they are pretty good. It's just the brewery so there's just their beers. They don't serve food but it's a nice place to have drinks. Great spot close to downtown especially if you don't want the college bar experience.

Wonderful facility. Simple, older theater structure inside. Yet it is quite roomy between rows and the seats are reasonably comfortable for long shows. Lights are perfect, and they're everywhere - behind and above the audience, and above the stage as well. Staff is helpful. Online presence is solid. Parking nearby in the post office lot is free. Bathrooms are updated, clean, and quite lovely for an older building. The shows are well done. And the local talent is worth seeing.

I was most impressed by the theater techs - the lighting, sound, and set design were top notch compared with other small community theaters I've been to. Terrible skate park! I see pictures of the old one and keep wondering why they’d change it. Parks uneven and has dips in the concrete next to the one rail they have. Coping sticks out impressively terrible too! Good luck to any riders who want to come here. Couldn’t image how crowded it would get with even like 5 other people.

Nice mellow transitions! All painted steel ramps. Awesome set up...great place to create a run or just flow from one end to another. Well done! Met several wonderful people at the park.

Photos arent up to date but it's new layout is great. A little street area with a rail and mannypad built into the bank wall running along the bowl. The bowl is kinda small but fun to carve. Keep in mind the park is not level and the two quarterpipes at both end of the street area reflect that and take a moment to get use to.

Granddaughter's softball team played a game on the field closest to White Oak Road. Found a good shady sitting spot between the outfield fence and a row of evergreen trees in left/center field.

Park
Clearwater Park, also known as Spacious Park, is a community area in Bloomington-Normal that stands out for its ample space and various amenities. It features kids' play sets, paved trails, a flat grassy field, basketball courts, a sand volleyball court, shelter and picnic tables. The park offers a half-mile walking trail and plenty of room to roam. Visitors can enjoy the playground equipment and gazebo for parties. While the walking trail is relatively short at 0.
Update, there is a new playground, which was much needed. Very good park. Nicely kept up and lots of activities. Beware, there are two sand volleyball courts. Odds are that your child(ren) will want to play in it. Plan accordingly.

Nice walking path around the playground with beautiful trees on the sides.
Elahe J — Google review
Clearwater Park in Bloomington, Illinois, has become one of the most important places in my life. I started going there during a long, quiet depression. For two years, I walked the half-mile loop nearly every day. It wasn’t dramatic or visible from the outside, but those walks helped me come back to life. The park gave me somewhere to go when I didn’t know where else to be. It gave my body a rhythm and my mind a little room. It’s a beautiful, open park. The kind of place where you can hear your own footsteps and still feel the presence of others. There are wide grassy fields, a playground, a walking path that gently curves past ballfields and shaded benches. People play volleyball in the sand, or basketball on the courts that stay busy from late morning until dusk. Some evenings there are softball games, often church teams or community leagues. There’s laughter, cheering, the crack of the bat. It’s low-key but full of life. I’ve come to love the feeling of motion there—small groups coming together, then drifting apart again. It never feels crowded. It feels like something living. My favorite part of the park is a stand of malice trees. They aren’t especially tall or showy, but I notice them every time I pass. There’s something about the way they bend, the way the light moves through their branches. I used to have a malice tree behind my apartment. I loved that tree. It leaned a little, had a strange curve in its trunk, and its leaves always seemed to turn early in the fall. One day it was cut down. It happened quickly. I wasn’t consulted. I just came home and it was gone. Of course I forgive the person who cut it down. It’s just a tree. And maybe it needed to come down. But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss it. It doesn’t mean I don’t still think about the particular shadow it cast in the late afternoon. So now when I walk through Clearwater Park, I stop for a moment when I reach the malice trees. I let myself notice them. I let myself remember. And then I keep walking. What I’ve found over these last couple of years is that places can hold you while you heal. They can keep you company even when you’re not ready to be around people. Clearwater Park did that for me. It made room for my sadness and my recovery. It helped me rebuild my days. And over time, it also helped bring me joy. The rhythm of basketball games. The energy of evening softball. The quiet of morning walks. All of it feels part of the same motion now. It’s a place I return to not just out of habit, but out of love.
Matthew N — Google review
Review Date: October 22nd, 2014 Clearwater Park should also be called Spacious Park. Clearwater Park is one of many city parks in Bloomington-Normal. The city has literally 7+ parks, if I am seeing this map right. But what sets this one apart from the others? Space. This park is relatively bigger than a standard park. It has basketball courts, a volleyball sand pit area, a playground, a gazebo for parties and openness. I didn’t spend a whole lot of time here, but I enjoyed every second of it. The leaves were changing colors, the weather was just right. It was a nice visit. I just enjoy the openness of this park. If you find yourself in Bloomington, there are quiet a few nice parks to visit. McGraw Park and Holiday Park are two you should definitely check out, if you have kids and they love parks… or if you are a kid at heart like myself.
Joshua D — Google review
This park is great. The whole area is nice and my son loves it! The only thing I get nervous about is the drops from the higher slide area. There is not a lot of protection if my son wanders up there and it can definitely be nerve wracking to any parent in the same situation, I’m sure. Other than that, I like this park a lot!
Ashley L — Google review
Cute little park with a small playground. The walking trail is only .5 miles around, so a little on the short side. However I didn't have to side step goose landmines like at other parks.

Nice park, close to Miller Park. Has little kid play area, and covered area with benches. Make sure to leave by dark, because different types of people than those with little kids like to visit there. Lots of mature, pretty trees. Oaks and Maples, mostly. Nice place.

Great place to play with our toddler. Little bit of trash on ground from July 4th the day before. Not much.
Loreena B — Google review
This is a great park. We stopped as we drove through so our kids could take a break from our road trip. There are plumbed bathrooms (though the door wasn't working) and there is a disc golf course so bring something to toss. We also saw a beaver here too..cute!
Sarah L — Google review
I’m new to the area and tried this course for the first time today. Overall it was a fun 9 hole course that I will definitely come back to. Pros: 2 tees and 2 baskets give each hole different looks. Some elevation changes and just the right amount of trees make it challenging enough yet suitable for beginners. There is lots of shade on the course and it is easy to walk. Cons: The layout left us scratching our heads. It is not easy to navigate a few holes as they backtrack quite a bit resulting in a confusing flow. The park was in desperate need of mowing the day I played, not sure if this was just a bad day or the norm. This is a multiple use park so use caution on a couple holes near kids playing on a playground and adults grilling out. Overall I give 4 stars out of 5.
J — Google review
The playground was not easy to find. Google Maps took us to a "roundabout" that led to a shaded area. The road, we guess, used to connect to the playground area is permanently inaccessible. We had to drive around to find the proper entrance. Once we got there, the gazebo was trashed and cake smeared all over the equipment. It is a cute little play area, but it needs a lot of attention.

Great disc golf park! Elevation changes, trees, water hazard, a few long shots mixed in. All 9 holes have multiple teepads AND baskets for 36 different shots! All that, and it's also walking distance to ANOTHER five star course!

We were very happy with having a baby shower at Casper. The staff was fantastic and very easy to work with. Nice area to set up our food and very accommodating to rearranging furniture to fit our needs. There was a great selection of beverages that met all of our guests preferences. We had lots of guests comment on what a nice venue Casper is. I highly recommend using Casper for any private event you may be hosting.

We recently hosted a baby shower at Casper’s. The venue was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Along with their delicious signature beers, they offered wine, seltzers, sodas, flavored teas, and water. The bartender, Mark, was friendly, and attentive. They had folding tables for us to use for our catered food, and there was plenty of seating for all. I highly recommend Casper’s if you need a space to host an event.

I highly recommend Casper Brewing Company. We had the perfect venue for a baby shower for a dear friend to celebrate with all of her friends & co-workers. The staff was kind and accommodating, with plenty of room to set up food and decorations to make it an unforgettable event! There were beverage options to suite everyone at the bar, including bottled soda. Children who came had the best time running outside and playing games that they have there; the kids even enjoyed golf cart rides during the party! Casper Brewing Company is an excellent venue for any upcoming event you may have!

They were excellent serving our guest with beverages in timely manner. I would recommend this location for an event! Cheers to Casper Brewery and the excellent staff!

Made it back to Casper and enjoyed the vibe more this time around. Enjoyed the West Coast IPA and the space is comfortable and clean. Friendly bartender and also appreciate that this brewery is part of the Illinois Summer Passport tour! From 2023: Casper was OK and found a Vienna Lager to enjoy. Nice outdoor spacious area with putting green. Indoor space had a memorial to fallen soldiers and international flags, but lacked theme cohesion. I bought a small bag of popcorn and it was definitely the most expensive bag of popcorn I've ever bought, for its size. $5.00!

We had sooooo many compliments on our choice of venue for our baby shower! Casper was great to work with booking the event space, answering questions we had along the way and with set up and service during the event. Everyone was helpful and considerate of helping us create the best experience for our guests. The huge windows overlooking the greens and pond were so wonderful! The chalk boards and games were enjoyed by the littles at our party. The couch seating was a nice option as well. The bar service had a large variety for folks who wanted everything from soda to seltzer to beer. And Casper had some great brews that got us through clean up and packing up the cars after the event! Highly recommend this space for your next gathering.

This is by far one of the best breweries in the area. I visited on a Thursday evening and there weren't too many people at this place so I was a little concerned about how the beers would be. The bartender (David - The tap house manager) was very friendly. I ordered a flight of four beers (Two stouts - Event Horizon and Espresso Stout, and then the Gold Star and Oktoberfest). The Event Horizon was the best followed by the Oktoberfest which was really smooth. I sat in the patio at the back which is facing the small golf course. Wonderful place to hang out at which numerous brews to pick from. Will definitely visit again if in the area. I like the flags on the wall which represent the different brews they offer on the menu.

Ewing Park II is a charming and diverse park in Bloomington, offering something for everyone. Families can enjoy the playground and shelter surrounded by open space, while nature enthusiasts can explore wooded trails leading to a protected bird area. The park connects easily to other nearby parks, providing ample walking trails and fields for relaxation. Visitors can admire the beauty of Sugar Creek's man-made waterfall and witness stunning fall colors among the trees. Dog owners will appreciate the dog-friendly environment with plenty of space to roam.
Connects easily to Parks 1 and 3. A lot of walking trails and fields to walk around or relax in. Sugar Creek has a little man made waterfall. The trees were just starting to show their fall colors. Beautiful place to take a stroll, even with your dog!

One of two sledding hills in town. The other is Highland golf course on South Main. No play structures except for some exercise equipment at the bottom of the hill. There is a playground at Ewing III, which is on the other side of the creek.
Michael P — Google review
The parking for youth football games at this location is not just overwhelming, it disrupts home owners in multiple neighborhoods, allows for no emergency or safety access, and makes it nearly impossible for people with limited mobility to attend.
James R — Google review
This is an outstanding park for walking dogs. There is a creek, trails, and lots of open space. Just a beautiful place to be.

Glenn H — Google review
Very enjoyable park! Plenty of shade for warm days and two separate playsets to give kids lots of choices. The swings are kind of high off the ground, so younger kids will probably need help getting in and out, but they work well. Everything is in good condition and the park is situated far enough from the busy road that I felt safe letting my wandering toddler play. We will definitely be going back.

I often go here when the weather is nice. They do not have bathrooms but bring in a Port-a-Potty (from March 1-Nov 1). The area is clean with many trash cans. People come out to walk their pets and play Frisbee Golf (which is big in our area it seems). There tends to be plenty of parking. The park is at the end of the street so traffic is very light. There is plenty of sun and shaded areas with a playground and open space to run. This park is does have hills.

This is a private park owned by the local unions of police and firefighters. You can rent the baseball field and there is a hall that you can also rent for events, i think. There is a small playgorund. And a place to do some fishing. The baseball field is okay for junior high school kids. The stadium bleachers are easy to access. They are typical bleachers without ample leg room for average to above average size adults. Lot parking is also limited requiring many attendees to park vehicles on the neighboring side streets.

Review Date: June 10th, 2015 Warning – There are no eagles to be seen at this park. So, here we are, reviewing another park during my park-visting blitz of 2015. Eagle Crest is one of those parks that is part of a well-off subdivision. It’s not a gated subdivision, so the park can be accessed by anyone and everyone. The subdivision itself is really nice as is the area surrounding the park. I would’ve loved to have a small park in my backyard as a kid. As for the park itself, it’s your standard park. It has swings and a jungle gym. The jungle gym is really nice and is a few units put together. There is a basketball court with two hoops; though the hoops aren’t aligned, so playing a full game might be awkward and hard. There is a gazebo with a grill next to it, so you could host some birthday parties here or just have a nice cookout on a beautiful day. That’s about it. Overall, a nice park. Small, but it’s probably the perfect size for the neighborhood. If you like parks, don’t you worry! I still have a ton more to review!
