The 1794 Whiskey Rebellion is a charming restaurant and bar located in downtown Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Inspired by President George Washington's visit in 1794 to suppress the Whiskey Rebellion, this rustic eatery offers a wide selection of over 100 American and international whiskeys. The menu features locally-sourced dishes like Bastille Medallions and Colonial Chicken Pot Pie.
Wonderful cocktail bar conveniently located at the 1st floor of the comfort suites! The Whiskey bar has just about every Whiskey you could want. They also have a fantastic selection of top shelf drinks. The food is incredible with home cut fries and homemade ketchup that is incredible! Would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink and a meal!

Great place to have a group dinner. The food was exceptional 👌 and the staff was friendly. Recommend the dessert chocolate chip cookie with ice cream! The onion rings were out of this world! Don't get the beef soup, though, tasted like canned soup; it was terrible.
Alicia J — Google review
It was my first visit to the area and I read about this restaurant and decided to try it. Absolutely phenomenal! A great location and fantastic service! If you decide to sit in the bar, hopefully Laurel is working because she was so great. She suggested some different items on the menu and highly recommended the salmon. She was amazing and consistently checked in to make sure that everyone had whatever they needed. It's a very welcoming environment and I wish I had this restaurant in my town. Thank you, Laurel for great service, great food, and great conversation! Definitely recommend that anybody visiting the area stops by and asks for Laurel!

This restaurant is attached to the hotel, but is way above most hotel restaurants and is worth a visit. My steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The sides were unique, fresh and delicious though a bit small. You can tell they use real fresh ingredients and care about quality and flavor. The whiskey list was extensive, but somewhat expensive when compared to similar places I have been. I would recommend trying one of their seasonal whiskey cocktails too.
Daniel B — Google review
Food is reasonably good, but way more expensive than what it deserves. Steak is good but not great. Dishes served without listed sauces or glazes. I wouldn't bother to write a review except for what I saw behind the scenes, which was disgusting. Roaches running freely in the kitchen hallway, open food and cooking supplies being held in unsanitary conditions. Hard to imagine a good chef operating in such conditions, so explains a lot.
Francesca H — Google review
Wow! What a “hidden” gem, in my home town. The steaks were amazing cuts and prepared perfectly. The service from the hostess and waitress was friendly and attentive. I’m not a whiskey drinker, but selections were tasty and well prepared. I definitely will be returning when visiting my mom and nieces and nephews. The only knock is the same for most places in Carlisle, parking is inconvenient. But it’s definitely worth it if you want to enjoy a top fight dinner and drinks.

1794 The Whiskey Rebellion – Carlisle, PA Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, everything—from the food to the service and the atmosphere—was top notch. I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad, and every bite was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sides were flavorful, and the staff made the entire evening enjoyable. If you're ever in the Carlisle area, I highly recommend checking out 1794 The Whiskey Rebellion. It’s definitely a place worth visiting!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at 1794 yesterday, 6/17/2025. Everything was absolutely wonderful, our waitress Megan K was very helpful, attentive and checked on us regularly. I had the Medallions and Hasselback potato and a Caesar Salad which was very fresh and fresh shaved parmesan cheese. I added grilled shrimp (I ate 2 of them before I took the picture). Not pictured, my husband had the Wagyu steak and mushrooms and grilled veggies and of course a bourbon flight. It was a great experience and plan to return soon.

Nestled in the heart of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Market Cross Pub has been a beloved spot since its inception in 1994. This cozy bar and eatery offers an inviting atmosphere where patrons can unwind with a diverse selection of international beers and ales. Inspired by its namesake from Carlisle, England, the pub features a delightful menu that showcases traditional British dishes like Shepherd's Pie and Bangers & Mash alongside classic American favorites such as burgers and steaks.
Visiting Carlisle from Wisconsin. I’ve eaten at several places around town, this was the BEST! Food was superb! Drinks were poured well. Service was great! I will definitely be returning! Get the cheesesteaks. They also have many other great dishes in their lineup.

Had a great experience at Market Cross Pub. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. We also tried the seared tuna appetizer and it was amazing. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. All the food came out perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a visit
Eric H — Google review
This spot is a popular local bar-restaurant, decent for a quick visit. Don’t expect the upscale feel of a big-city restaurant, but the atmosphere is fair. The Tuesday steak special with two sides is worth checking out—$16. The steak was slightly overcooked, but still juicy enough to enjoy. For that price, you really can’t complain. The fish and chips, however, were disappointing. Even the larger portion with four pieces of fish felt small compared to other places, and the so-called fresh-cut fries were dry. At least the Guinness was poured fresh.
Carl — Google review
I've been here a few times and it is always great. But today I ordered the new coco loco shrimp tacos and they went above and beyond on this dish. Don't be lame, come and get some ASAP.
Travis R — Google review
This was a bit of an adventure. We finally located the actual front door and went in. We were welcomed right away and shown to a booth. The waitress was professional and gave us great service. The beer menu was extensive. I had the fish and chips which was very good. I recommend the king size portion as the queen size included half the fish portion of the king. The smokehouse chicken sandwich was also excellent but the fries with the sandwich were not as crispy as those that came with the fish. The decor was rather dark bit it is a pub. The restrooms were down a long long hall in the back. Overall the adventure was very good.
Lisa N — Google review
I was staying near by on work and came in for dinner and drinks. The Beef tips were very bland. But I did see some awesome food go by me. The drinks made up for what I selected for dinner.
TheVirginiaStew — Google review
Went in on a Wednesday afternoon. Not many people sat for dining. Got a table right away. The server, Rebecca, was very friendly and made sure I was taken care of the entire time. I had the Ribeye steak with sweet potato fries and broccoli. The soup is served before the entree. Everything tasted great. The steak was cooked perfectly. I tried their Pub & Pub Porter. Very thick and delicious nitro stout. Bar was kinda busy. Overall amazing experience. Would recommend.
Ryan H — Google review
We were in town for 1 night and we had our pups with us. We saw they were dog friendly and sat outside. The blacked salmon tacos were fantastic and beer selection is extensive. Hubby had fish and chips and he liked them. The service was good. Atmosphere outside was fine. Only complaint was that the street is super busy so it can be loud, but nothing the bar can do about that.

Molly Pitcher Brewing Company Taproom on High is a brewery named after Mary Hays McCauley, also known as Molly Pitcher, a famous resident of the town. The brewery aims to showcase hometown pride and community focus. It offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with metal barrels of beer and brewing equipment adding to the casual experience.
My two favorite beers on tap were “Black Powder Stout,” very smooth with dark chocolate flavors and “Peanut Butter Porter,” creamy and sweet with some peanut butter and hazelnut taste/smell. Food is really good, you must try their “Molly Tots” their charred-onion cream sauce and smoked-chili ketchup sauce are so good! The Bacon Burger is another great option, well cooked and a big portion of fries. Great atmosphere and good customer service.
Rachel E — Google review
We love this place. We have been many times and somehow keep forgetting to do a review and our pictures get lost in all our others. We will update next time. The Molly tots are great and be love the charred onion dipping sauce and the spicy ketchup. We also really enjoy their chicken sandwiches and the white stout. All their bees and food are good. There is a nice patio in the back with shade and a smaller room upstairs for events. It’s a great local spot with family’s, locals, and business people always coming in.
Wanderers B — Google review
Great Beer, Great Food, and Even Better Service Stopped into Molly Pitcher Brewing Company and had an awesome experience. The place has a laid back, comfortable vibe, great for grabbing a couple beers and a bite to eat. Our waiter honestly made the night. Not only was he super helpful with beer recommendations, but he had us cracking up the whole time. It’s rare to get someone who’s that good at what they do, and keeps the table laughing. I ordered the fish basket and my wife got the chicken basket, both came out hot, crispy, and way better than we expected for bar style food. Paired with a couple of their house beers, which were excellent, it hit the spot. Definitely planning to come back. Between the beer, the food, and the service, it’s one of the best spots in Carlisle.
Eric H — Google review
Really enjoyed!! Carter, our server, was excellent!! The food+beers were very good...I thought quite busy for a Tuesday, which is good...we sat at a table by the front window which was nice!!! Seemed like a nice, hometown kind of place with a lot of regulars...cozy!!! I felt the prices were quite reasonable...Happy hour 5-7pm! Would highly reccomend!!!
Michelle L — Google review
This has become our go-to spot. The beer is great, LOVE the music and the food is solid. They definitely have their own twist on things that are a little boring on other menus. But by far the best thing there is the staff. EVERY single person is extremely friendly and makes you feel like you belong there.
Melanie M — Google review
We enjoyed stopping here for food and drinks. We parked on the street but found out there's parking behind the building and a rear entrance. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. They had live Irish music when we were there.
Robert H — Google review
Absolutely horrible food. Definitely top 5 worst restaurant food I’ve ever had. Beer was okay, but in this day and age, a brewery needs good food. I really wish that I hadn’t gone. Sorry for the honest feedback, but maybe it’ll help y’all. We were there last night. We had 1) fried chicken sandwich (it was about 2/3rd the size of the bun…almost thought there was no chicken when it came out…it was hiding between the buns lol…very thin with little meat…suggest bigger thicker chicken breast with different breading), 2) fried fish (fish tasted old and dry like it came out of a box…suggest fresher fish with a beer batter). Positives - Fries were good. Beer was good. Wasn’t looking to complain and get bad food replaced with another round of bad food. Nor did I want a discount...having a bad restaurant experience is all part of the game of trying new restaurants. Might suggest to quality control the kitchen/food for a few days and see if you are happy with the product. Hope this helps.

Looking for an excuse to go back. I have not had fried baloney since my grandmother passed away. Great varieties of beers, hard seltzer and local ciders.

Dickinson College, located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, covers 144 acres and has a rich history dating back to its charter on September 9, 1783. This makes it the first college established after the United States' formation. The institution offers a strong science curriculum and supportive professors who are dedicated to their students' success. The campus provides a peaceful environment with close proximity between facilities, eliminating the need for transportation.
Loved visiting this college & it’s community! Particularly enjoyed the historical details of the American Revolutionary War that the town has preserved! Also, there’s a really great ice-cream place nearby that I enjoyed! Not to mention the views of PA!

Took my granddaughter to an open house. My experience was very good. The campus was well kept. The open house itself was amazing and well put together. I left feeling better than comfortable about leaving my grandchild there to begin her college career. The downtown area of Carlisle has a definate colonial era vibe. I could almost envision a horse drawn carriage rolling g down the street. I would love to return on a visit of my own to explore some history.

Dickinson College is outstanding. One of their best attributes is their professors. They also have wonderful student services and student organizations.

The beautiful campus is built with limestone from the college's quarry. The library is spectacular as well.

My personal experience at Dickinson college. There were lots of boys there and when I woke up at my dorm every day there was a weird white substance on my blanket.. odd. anyways, I had a godddddd night though. The education and diversity there was spectacular, and I would love if I could go there again as a young adult.

So blessed to have our children go there it is a fantastic preschool / daycare the staff are fantastic the curriculum is perfect for children in each individual age group

I love the college grounds!! Great down town! Very professional admissions office with very adequate follow-up...! (very adequate means, being from a metropolitan area myself, I didn't expect anything beyond a few lame words of luke warm support from burnt out administrative zombies and was pleasantly surprised by their warmth and follow thru). Still waiting to see the results of the education, my student has only just begun. Seems promising!! --edit: Hi ! It was a long haul, with COVID in there during their education and a semester abroad (in Denmark!), with a workload that sounded rewardingly likely to bring a fruitful career in a field relating to psychology and also sounded enriching in the ancillary, my impressions after graduation are that this was a classy, intellectually and socially positive experience the most challenging of which seems to have been the growing pains all young people experience living within the confines of any old where, learning how to resolve social conflict, negatively charged romantic interests and all the other human type challenges. I'd recommend this school over many others I've heard about, balancing the cosmopolitan and the parochial or bucolic. It wasn't all peaches and cream but the only negative I seem to remember is the smell of whatever the hell it is that the farmers around Carlisle are spreading on their fields which is one of the most disgusting smells I've ever experienced but only seemed to encounter it outside of town and not on or around campus

A wonderful hidden gem in carlisle… I enjoy the interactive exhibits! I especially like the printing press, but it wasn’t working super well when I was there. Certain areas need some TLC, but it’s an I credible place to experience a piece of Pennsylvania history.

Nice local history museum. The current (2025) exhibit about photography and the students at the Carlisle Indian School is very interesting. There's also a library and archives, but we only visited the exhibit. The gift shop next door has a wide selection of books, local artisans, and tourist items, so visit there as well.
Amy S — Google review
Nice little museum, and free. Everything is displayed nicely, and the text to read is kept short and concise. There are a few interactive displays as well. There is currently a railroading in the valley exhibit in addition to the 2nd floor museum (July 2023).

Very nice conference room and friendly employees. Also has a very cool collection of artifacts and photos with captions that explains the brutal effort to exterminate the Native peoples culture.

I live in the Midwest and I can not be traveling to Cumberland County all the time to do research. It would be nice if they would digitized the various Cumberland County Newspapers. If you live there great, but when you live far away not so good. They are always sending me notices to contribute to them and I would if they had some resources I could use. Shippensburg, Harrisburg and Gettysburg have their Newspapers online. It is a great research tool. They say they are premier.

Theaters
The Carlisle Theatre, also known as the Gem of Downtown, is a historic Art Deco-style venue that originally opened in 1939 and underwent renovations in the nineties. It hosts a variety of events including concerts, musicals, plays, films, and family programs. The theater showcases an eclectic mix of entertainment from local theater productions like Anne of Green Gables to independent and foreign films.
The Carlisle Theater truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was captivated by the historic charm and inviting atmosphere. The show itself was nothing short of spectacular, with a talented cast delivering powerful performances that kept me on the edge of my seat. The production value was top-notch, and the stage design was visually stunning. What truly impressed me was the affordability. The ticket prices were very reasonable, making it accessible for a wide range of audiences. Additionally, the snacks and popcorn were surprisingly cheap, allowing me to enjoy the show without breaking the bank. If you're looking for a night out filled with exceptional entertainment, I highly recommend visiting the Carlisle Theater. It's a hidden gem that offers a truly unforgettable experience.
J M — Google review
We had a great time, the seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room and the sound was excellent.
Bill P — Google review
The Carlisle Theatre is a beautifully restored historic gem that captures both the charm and spirit of a bygone era. The venue itself is stunning ~ from its vintage architecture to its warm, slightly haunted ambiance that adds to the magic of the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making the entire visit feel special from start to finish. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Victoria Price, daughter of the legendary Vincent Price, which made the evening even more memorable. The theatre’s mix of classic and modern film showings offers something for everyone, and the attention to detail in preserving its historic character is truly impressive. A visit to The Carlisle Theatre is not just a night out ~ it’s an experience. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates film, history, and a touch of timeless elegance.

Cool historic theater! Seating was comfortable and parking was convenient. Sound quality was fantastic. Definitely worth seeing any shows here!

I am a regular patron at Carlisle Theatre performances; however, this weekend, I had the opportunity to provide event support to my client, Cantate Carlisle, during the Spring concerts. The space and stage were great for the performance. The staff - including Ashley and Amanda - were gracious, pleasant to work with, and willing to serve us even when we realized errors in our own specifications for the rental. On weekends, parking is typically pretty easy, and the Theatre is easily navigable for patrons with mobility issues. It was a great two-day event, and we will happily continue our annual rental of the Theatre for our performances.

Mom and I went to a show in May and today in September. What great shows! Great music, and a wonderful downtown theatre experience with plenty of leg room vs traditional movie theatres! Let's keep this going!!

If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Carlisle, look no further than Carlisle Events, which has been a staple of the automotive community for over 50 years. Nestled in Cumberland County at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, this venue hosts some of the largest car shows across the United States. One standout event is Corvettes at Carlisle, where enthusiasts gather to admire over 5,000 stunning Corvettes.
My first time going there. Didn't find parts for my car, but it was a good time.

I've been here twice, we specifically went most recently for the Chrysler/Mopar event. Saw lots of cool stuff, it's always such a good time. Definitely a lot of walking, and wear sunscreen. My shoulders are just starting to forgive me. The bathroom situation is great. There is usually a few port-a-potty stations around the grounds with like, 10 port-a-potties each. There are attendants outside, and even a few of the stalls are reserved specifically for women. They put artificial flowers in the urinal and it is always fantastically clean. There is plenty of food options too!

People like Ed Buczeskie, who manages the world’s largest Mopar event, are the heart and horsepower behind these shows. And it’s not just about Mopars — Carlisle has experts and events for Ford fans, import lovers, truck enthusiasts, and every car culture niche you can imagine. These folks get it. They live it. They breathe it. What sets Carlisle apart is more than just the size or the variety — it’s the passion and respect they have for the culture. They understand that the automotive industry built modern America, and they honor that legacy at every event. From patriotic tributes to celebrating innovation and restoration, Carlisle Events doesn’t just promote shows — they celebrate the spirit of American grit, ingenuity, and horsepower. If you think you’ve been to a car show, think again. Until you’ve stood at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, surrounded by thousands of cars, parts, and passionate people — you haven’t experienced the real thing. All other car events pale in comparison. This is the standard. This is the heart of the hobby. This is Carlisle Events.

Absolutely loved the Ford show. Just make sure that you get there early before the gates open or just as they do. Either way, it was a great experience. There are a lot of nice people that do the events. As someone who has kids, they give out a nice goody bag, and the inside has a hot wheels car. And some other things are inside for the kids. It's definitely awesome.
Michael B — Google review
Ive seen a couple of the car shows and parades now through town this summer for the 1st time, and I must say that they do a pretty good job! The photos are from the car parade back in June down Hanover Street.

I am a disabled veteran. I purchased my tickets and parking pass months before the event. However when I arrived at the event I was told that because I wasn’t in a Corvette I had to park on the street. I explained to the attendant that I had both my legs broken while I was in the Marine Corps and had a disabled plate. I was then told I could only park in the handicap parking lot if I rented a scooter from them. I have my own scooter and I’m disappointed that the gentleman I was talking to was a volunteer firefighter. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed. I am happy to discuss this with anyone from the event that could possibly prevent this from happening again in the future.

With over 100 antique dealers spread across two floors, this local business offers an extensive selection of unique and intriguing antique goods. Visitors can expect friendly and helpful staff as they explore the spacious store, which also features a mini-museum showcasing local artifacts.
My first time visit, looking for a jewelry gift. I interacted with at least 4 staff there, 2 were the owners, and they all went above and beyond trying to help me by recommending many different vendors that might have what I was after. It was quite an enjoyable experience... and my wife is sure to be pleased, though I can't unsee a few pieces that fascinated me and were left behind, as they were not in today's budget

This place is massive with a good variety of items available. The staff was very kind and while I didn't purchase anything this time, I definitely will come back next time I'm in town

This store is so neat… I could get lost for hours! My mother and I found some wonderful treasures at reasonable prices. Im excited to have such a cool spot in town! Make sure to check out the porcelain especially.
Caroline — Google review
Not the same as in years past, walked out of there empty-handed when I used to find good stuff there in the past almost every time I went in. Packed booths do not mean quality. More like eBay rejects. There is a woman at the counter who has been there for many years, I believe her name is Mary, she used to have red hair but has short gray hair now. She is very abrasive and not friendly. When I was there I didn't get all the nice greetings that other people in these reviews got. I think the employees here should remember that they represent all the different vendors and their own personal feelings should be put aside. Will never be back again, but why should I? There are plenty of other antique stores around that not only have better quality but have much better service.
SH M — Google review
Bigger than I expected! Some booths are well laid out, lots you’d have to pick through (half the fun!), and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Some of the pricing seemed a bit high throughout, specifically on books. Example: a 1955 hardcover on Bolívar in decent shape for $20. Another booth had a hardcover of Carlisle Old and New, 75th Anniversary Edition for $18 or $20. Most hardcovers (no matter how obscure) were at least $12. Still a great place to find some interesting pieces, or at the very least entertain your eyes. Due to the size of the place, plan on at least 1-2 hours, unless you’re looking for a very specific piece… then double that. =)

They have a lot of art programs. We took some of our scouts there to learn about art and they got to make their own sun catchers!

Food and atmosphere was amazing. You could tell the owners take alot of pride on what they do. Every detail of the food , preparation was perfect. Well trained staff and bartenders. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Stopped in for a bite while on the road. Service was polite and accommodating. We had the pretzels knots with a queso and sweet mustard. They were delicious and the best part of the meal. The fried chicken sandwich was very good. Underwhelmed by the spaghetti and meatballs. Good tap beer selection and a great place to watch a game.

We stopped in on a Saturday night for dinner after seeing their weekend special on Facebook. The place is somewhat small and it was busy. We sat at the bar. There was one other couple sitting there. The bartender greeted us quickly and provided menus. We ordered drinks shortly after and then dinner. The beer is all Belgian and there is quite a bit to choose from. I had a saison and it was not what I am used to but it was good. We started with an order of mussels. They were very big compared to the mussels we have gotten at other places. There was not a lot of broth but they were good. We both had the crab special. That was good as well. Everybody talks about the frites here but we didn’t try them. The coleslaw that came with the dinner was good - I liked that it wasn’t drowning in milk or mayonnaise water. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pub-like. It was casual and easygoing. This was my first time here and I live in the area. I would go back again to try something else. If I was closer, I’d for sure try something for lunch.

I've been here close to 10 times over the years. The food is usually solid, but the wait time for food has always been so long. Expect about 40 minutes. Very disappointed with my visit this weekend. Ordered the pulled pork special with frites. The sandwich left a pool of liquid on the plate and the frites were overcooked and brown. A pair of basic pulled pork sandwiches and 2 beers for about 60 bucks is crazy to me.
Amy W — Google review
First time here. Nice decor, smallish menu. Service was quick, as was the food arriving from the menu. Our server Mercy was fun and pleasant. Food was simply delicious, and got to try a Belgian ale. Pricy menu, but good.
D.B. F — Google review
Legit some of the best food I've had in a long time. We started with the "frites" and mussels appetizers, which were both good, but the fries were amazing. I can't emphasize how perfect they were, and the house mayo dipping sauce that came with it was great. For my entree, I got the "Belgian Meatball". The mashed potatoes were meh, but the meatballs were excellent and unlike any I've ever had. Unfortunately, while our server was very friendly, she did not check up on us very frequently, especially towards the end when we were waiting for the check to be delivered and taken back. Still, very minor complaint when compared to the quality of the food.
Ethan S — Google review
This was a great experience. The server was professional and a credit to the human race. The food was spot on. Awesome flavors and very creative dishes. They used what little space they have nicely. It had a good vibe and although we didn't get any drinks they have an impressive list of alcohol. They are soo close to 5 stars. The issue is the price we paid for lunch. They were dinner prices. I suppose it's possible that the portions are the same and therefore they wouldn't change price. Still, we all enjoyed our food and the service was excellent. Unfortunately due to the cost we won't be coming here very often. Check it out and see if the value fits for you.
Greg W — Google review
I have the hamburger I really couldn't tell it was lamb I did ask for it to be medium to medium well it was more medium well to well but it was still juicy. They had a red pepper something soup that was really nice with a little bit of a kick. I did not order fries but one of my dinner companions did and they were delicious. One of my other dinner companions had on an appetizer it was a fried cheese and it was just okay. Our server was very accommodating very friendly and very helpful. I don't know that I'd go back because the food was just okay.

Hamilton Restaurant is a charming family-owned eatery in Carlisle, PA, celebrated for its distinctive hot dogs adorned with cheese, chili, and mustard. This cozy spot also offers hearty breakfast options and generous portions of classic American diner fare like burgers, sandwiches, and French fries. The restaurant's friendly service and delicious food have garnered praise from visitors. In addition to their famous hot dogs, the steak sandwich and sizable salads are highly recommended.
Excellent service with excellent historic Hot-Chee Dogs - hot dog, cheese, onions, and chili. The fries were delicious, hot and fresh while the Cole slaw was tasty and cool. Highly recommend this Carlisle classic.

Very enjoyable meal. Mostly breakfast, but was able to add onion rings. Very good and friendly service. Some of the best creamed chipped beef I've had. We both had it on a waffle, but next time would gave on toast (preference). Asked for home fries crispy, and they were great. Sorry. No photo of them

Came to try a “Hotchee Dog” Not really worth the hype. Guess I was expecting something different with the unique name. Its a glorified chilli dog. Chilli on the dog was bland Other than that, had good service and food came out quick and hot. Would like for them to have the option to pay with a card. No a lot of people carry around cash anymore

A real, tasty local restaurant with a wide variety of food options for a diner. I believe they're famous for their hot dogs, which is always a nice treat to get as an appetizer before you order your main meal. Tasty club sandwich with a nice portion of fries. They only accept cash, which is kind of a pain, but there is an ATM on site that charges a 2.50 fee.

In downtown Carlisle, you'll find a vibrant craft beverage scene, and one of the standout locations is Hook & Flask Still Works. Teaming up with Burd's Nest Brewing and Grand Illusion Hard Cider, they've been promoting their reopening on social media, highlighting their outdoor seating and wide selection of drinks. Visitors praise the amazing staff and owner, as well as the great food, live music, open mic nights, and comfortable atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite places in Carlisle. I’ve been coming here for years and while some things have changed, the quality of service and welcoming atmosphere has remained consistent. I usually always get the Pittsburgh salad substituted with chicken but I have also had a couple of the sandwiches and all were good. I typically get a local beer but have tried a couple of the cocktails and they were good as well. The bartenders are personable and friendly. There is a small stage inside the doors for live music and occasionally there so special events. I usually sit at the bar and I have befriended several bar mates. It’s just a genuinely cool community establishment. Parking is on the street and metered certain hours - I think free after 6p but check Carlisle Borough for days/times/prices.

Absolutely Amazing Staff and Owner! There's not enough good words to describe them. They are All Stars!! Great Food, Good Times, Live Music, Open Mic Nights(shout out to Todd Fisher and Mandolin Mike), Comfortable Atmosphere and House Made Spirits! If you get the opportunity to take the behind the scenes tour, as the commercials use to say, Just Do It! Pop Quiz- Do you know the origin of the word Proof? We have all said it a million times when reading the alcohol content of whatever we were drinking...but do you know why it's called that? For a fun night out..Hook and Flask is Fire! But its okay..there's always firemen close!😉

Visited with friends. We tried a variety of their cocktails and really did not care for any of them. They were not over sugary, but didn’t have a good flavor combination. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fun and Saturday night had live music. They do have some local beers on draft. The service was extremely slow. The server was very friendly but seems they were short handed because she spent a good deal of time bartending and not serving tables. We were disappointed with the appetizer of “torture” which were roasted potatoes. We were expecting tater tots.

Stopped at Hook & Flask while traveling through Carlisle. AWESOME EXPERIENCE! The service provided by Mark and Nicky was excellent. We enjoyed tasting drink concoctions and the food was delicious. As an added bonus, it was karaoke night (Wednesday) and Scott the DJ did a fantastic job. So much fun. Highly recommend stopping here. Also, first responder friendly!!

This place is GREAT! They have a large selection of beers, cocktails, wine, and whiskey, etc. The food was also delicious! The waitress was really nice too! There was a band setting up. The decor was really cool too and also cool that you could see the still in the back!

I didn't stop here for food.... but for the spirits. Their bourbons and whiskeys were excellent. I did purchase a bottle of their Rye Whiskey and will soon be back for the food. 5-stars for the booze! Just back(Oct. 6) for another 2 bottles of their Tiller Rye Whiskey. It's too bad that Hook and Flask have closed. I was lucky enough to purchase their last 3 bottles of their best-in-the-world Tiller, a rye whiskey. Thank you Mark and the best of luck!!!

I love this place. Their food and specials are really good, cocktails are awesome, they always have a great tap list, service has always been top notch, they have live music on the weekends (maybe during the week too) and I like the open air atmosphere. I love the caesar salad with jalapeno ranch (I substitute instead of caesar dressing) and the fried chix sandwich with homemade chips was SOOO good. Everything here is awesome

Received a good recommendation from a coworker about this establishment! Well he wasn’t wrong about this place. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. The menu is not huge but what they offer is perfect for the restaurant. You get the usual American pub style meals but with a little twist. If you enjoy spirits this is the place for you. They are a distillery and make great spirits. We will be returning to try more soon!

The Carlisle Antique Mall is a treasure trove of handcrafted items and artwork by local artists, featuring galleries like The Garden Gallery, Nancy Stamm's Galleria, and Earth Artisan & Outfitter. Visitors are amazed by the boutique-like display of antique pieces in this huge store. Despite being on a main street, it's considered a hidden gem with its wide variety of vendors and beautifully restored building. It offers an impressive variety for sale, including old school records for music enthusiasts.
The coolest place to spend time and money. Be careful though, you might end up spending more time and more money than you had originally planned to! Beautifully laid-out displays, great organization between the different floors of the store, fairly priced quality items and fun finds are what you can expect. Great, helpful staff as well. You’ll likely find what you were looking for, as well as some items you didn’t know you were looking for! The Carlisle Antique Mall is a must-stop every time we travel to Carlisle!

Large, three floor, spacious building. A handsome building. Strong on vinyl records, vintage clothing, modern crafts, and artwork. Some of the stalls are overpriced, not many bargains, but there is value here. You will find unique treasures here.

Definitely worth the visit whether you are looking for clothes (basement), furniture, records (2nd floor), or anything else. You’ll find something. Three floors all chock full of vendors with a warehouse to the back with more modern/crafty things. Stairs at either end of the main building. There’s bathrooms on the third floor and the staff are friendly. Only had an hour, but definitely could’ve spent so much more time there (metered parking on the street).

I’ve been to a lot of antique stores and malls across the country, and The Carlisle Antique Mall is easily in the top 3. AMAZING selection of furniture big & small, clothing, art, music (vinyl, CDs, even cassette), vintage and antique tools, as well as collectibles and old toys. The pieces were very fair, and the people working there are super sweet (special shout out to Kelly and Lily!). Even checkout was a breeze, with a barcode system, computers, and quick payment systems (hey, I was at one just yesterday that only used a loose leaf notebook to note what was sold, price, and vendor!). The place is really big, so if you want to see it all, give yourself at least 2-3 hours. HIGHLY recommended, and totally worth a trip if you’re not from the area.

Very nice antique mall with quality items nicely displayed. Prices are reasonable, but were a little high for me (since I shop to resell). I did find a couple of treasures. Definitely worth a stop
Bob S — Google review
This antique mall is pretty massive and definitely something worth visiting. I came here mostly for the vintage clothing which you'll find in the basement. My biggest complaints are that the basement smells a little musty but it's an old building so getting airflow might be difficult. It's also fairly cramped. I was trying on some suits but the suit rack is absolutely packed which makes it very difficult to get items on and off the rack. Most of their suits favor larger gentleman but I was still able to find one that fit in a size 38. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

I have loved every time I have come here! It’s so therapeutic to paint and a lovely, meaningful, way to catch up with a friend. And you have a sentimental piece of art to show for it. The staff here have all been wonderful hosts. It is normally quiet and calming there, depending on what time of day/week you go. Also there’s a big window with a great view of the street. Plenty of parking behind the building. Takes about a week to get your glazed piece back. 10/10 would recommend!
Marlissa H — Google review
It's a cute little mom and pop shop. It's also the only one in Carlisle. They have a moderate selection of items and nice seating arrangements. They do seasonal events for families. If you know what you're doing and want to have fun, it's a fine place to sit and paint. However, in the 3 times I've been there, my pieces have been finished with marks of paint from other projects. My friend also had the same marks on her piece that she had spent hours working on fine details. I take before and after pics, I know our pieces were clean when we left them on the table. The marks are likely from putting the pieces on the waiting shelf too close together with the other guests that night. 3 out of 3 times in the last two years the projects weren't finished clean. Nice enough, but not clean. At least the mark is on the back side this time. Still a shame. Pictures are about 6 months apart. Again, it's a cute space. Unfortunate the peices aren't handled with respect throughout their journey.

I went to Create-A-Palooza with a few friends and we had the best time! There is a wonderful selection of items to paint and there is a good variety of colors to choose from once you start painting. There are a lot of Star Wars decorations which I thoroughly enjoyed and the architecture of the building is beautiful! The only thing I would say is that there was a lack of direction for the actual painting aspect, I expected more in depth directions, but it was more independent. I highly recommend a trip here - I can't wait to go back!

First time here. Very busy for a Thursday. Real silverware and real napkins. Two entrances: bar & dining room. Was raining, but looked like there was a patio. Only had speciality burgers and fresh cut fries/sweet potato fries. Local beef. You taste the difference. A little higher in price, but well worth it for the taste. Expect to pay more $$ for the fresh ingredients. A full dinner for 2 plus drinks & tip will cost you a Ben Franklin. Full bar with bar seating. We sat across from the bar and the kitchen. Back looked a little dated. Women's single bathroom had some updates. No paper towels, only hand dryer, which I do not use.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had such a great experience at Rustic Tavern in Carlisle! The atmosphere was super warm and welcoming 😊 My girlfriend and I got a little turned around at first (two doors got us 😅), but everyone was so kind and helped point us in the right direction. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient—especially with my dietary needs. Ordering was easy, the food came out perfectly cooked, and best of all, no stomach issues at all 🙌 That’s a win in my book! We had a wonderful night, and I can’t wait to come back. We stopped in on a Saturday late evening expecting it to be pretty busy and it was but we were able to get a seat at the bar after a few moments. The bartender was friendly and hospitable. The food was delicious. Size portions are big and there was plenty for sharing or taking home for later. Drinks were good as well. It is a bit darker in there as far as lighting in the bar anyway but it does give that relaxed rustic vibe. We surely will return.

The food was great. The waitress was delightful. The only issues I had were how incredibly loud it is in there. Overwhelmingly loud. And the other issue is the CC cleanliness of the staff. There's a good reason why most restaurant staff wear black shoes. Filthy white shoes are off-putting to diners. Maybe consider adding that to your dress code.

Restaurant
Issei Noodle is a family-owned eatery in Carlisle, PA that offers a warm wood decor and a menu featuring various Asian noodles such as ramen, pho, udon, yakisoba, and more. The restaurant has a modern open kitchen where they prepare made-to-order rice bowls and noodle specialties from Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Laotian cuisines.
First of all I want to explain how you order here since at first I was slightly confused since I was new to the restaurant. You will go up to the front counter and they will give you a table to go to. They will also give you a menu. Then you will seat yourself, go through the menu, and pick what you want. If they don’t have space for you, they will give you a buzzer and it will buzz when there is a table ready. You will pay at the front counter and get the food afterwards. The food here is very good, I got the issei chicken pho, the fried tofu, and the fried gyoza. The chicken pho is extremely good, if you’re a picky eater I think it would be fantastic since chicken pho is very reminiscent of chicken noodle soup. If you want something with more flavor and kick I suggest the ramens since there is more complex flavor in ramen in general. The portion for the soup is huge so if you don’t eat much like me, then you’ll be happy to know you’ll have plenty of leftovers! The tofu was very crispy and not greasy which is great. I would keep in mind it does stay hot in the center for a while so be careful not to burn yourself (like I did stupidly). It comes with this sauce on top that I think is sesame based which is very nice. If you are expecting sweet fried tofu this is NOT sweet tofu. I was hoping it was and was surprised when it wasn’t, but it was still very tasty. The gyoza is nice and crispy, it’s not too greasy and tastes amazing. I highly suggest them. Gyoza is also good for picky eaters since they’re almost always the same no matter what and have simple but tasty flavors. The service is very good. The Thai tea is very rich and seems authentic. I love Thai tea so 10/10 The lady at the front is extremely considerate and friendly, very good at reading customers. They make sure to get you seated and eating ASAP and are always hustling which I admire and love. The atmosphere is lovely. I love the colors and how they made a small space feel so open. The brown they chose for the walls was probably the best for this store since it helps make it feel open and friendly. Although it’s busy as a bee, it is very calming and chill. I’m an introverted person and I didn’t feel too stressed being there alone and hanging out for a tiny bit.

On Today’s Episode of Secret Kid-Friendly Eats (That Parents Also Love) in Carlisle… We braved a chilly morning at swim lessons, stopped by Georgie Lou's Retro Candy for a candy reward (because parenting is 85% strategic sugar deployment), and ended up at Issei Noodle for a hot noodle fix that turned into one of the best family meals we’ve had in a while. Roland confidently ordered the vegetarian ramen with spicy tofu and sampled everyone else’s too. Rhys, who usually side-eyes anything new, happily devoured a plain ramen bowl. River, originally expected to live off gummy sharks from next door, took one bite of Ridley’s spicy kimchi fried rice and claimed it as her own. Ridley negotiated a trade: he kept the eggs and passed the rice to River, then went full mad ramen scientist. He ordered a bowl of miso, dumped in a side of rice noodles, and crowned the whole thing with a fried egg. It was a masterpiece. He polished it off like a pro. I had chashu ramen and added the fish cakes. They were every bit as cute and delicious as they looked. Our friend ordered the chicken pho and looked equally pleased. The boba was next-level. Watching my kids drink it with wide eyes and dramatic gasps made the whole table laugh. The staff was patient, kind, and completely unfazed by our large, chatty, spill-prone party. The online ordering was down, but they handled it all smoothly, pushed a few tables together, and made sure the baby had a safe spot. The only mild complaint is that their hours can be unpredictable. I’ve pulled up ready to feast before, only to realize it was their off time. That said, the food, service, and atmosphere are always worth the trip. The open kitchen adds to the charm. There’s something satisfying about seeing the food being made while the kids color, sip boba, and try to slurp noodles without launching them across the room. Issei Noodle is officially a new go-to for our crew. Comfort food, great people, and a kid-friendly vibe that never feels dumbed down. Carlisle, you’ve got a gem.

I took a photo of my milk tea but forgot to take a photo of my food 😅 The place is very modern. You come in, and you are seated. After selecting your items on the menu, you walk up to the desk and order. I ordered the Issei Red Curry, and it was really good. I always love coconut curry, but this was REALLY good. My friend ordered Oyakodon (chicken and egg), and I liked it too. It was salty and savory. The dishes are large and very filling. They also have a large vegan and vegetarian selection on their menu. I can understand why this location is popular.

Visited before Covid and it was great, however it seems like it declined a bit. The atmosphere used to be like a restaurant and now it’s more cafe-y. The food was okay but for the price it wasn’t worth it to me. For example, my table got the fried gyoza which was good but was only 6 pieces for 7$. The boba wasn’t good either. Tried the mango which was very syrupy and the taro was good but the tapioca pearls for both was hard and not bouncy. Overall the ramen and pho that we got wasn’t bad… just for the price/amount/quality there are better shops out there. If you are in the area it’s not a bad choice, just not the best. Although they do have good vegetarian options.
Mia — Google review
The food is quite yummy and the staff is very sweet. Limited vegan options despite advertising “veggie” options. I am concerned because their reason for not being able to make pad Thai vegan is due to the fish sauce but they say they can make it vegetarian… fish is an animal, so fish sauce isn’t vegetarian. Despite this we found that I can eat the vegetarian pho (actually vegan! :)) and I enjoyed my lunch.

We lived in Japan for a couple of years. Humbly speaking, while the ramen was good. They’re ramen wasn’t freshly made, and the eggs in it isn’t like the soy marinated soft boiled eggs in Japan. Their KARAAGE was in tiny portions plus over fried. In Japan they’re much less flour, bigger pieces, and juicy! Plus, they come with the tangy ginger sauce dip. However, customer service was very good. Just being honest.

I can't think of one negative thing to say about our first meal here. The kids had two different ramen bowls, and I had the veggie Vermicelli bowl. All three were delicious. I loved that we could order at the counter so we didn't have to wait too long for our lunch. Atmosphere was pleasant and the staff was extremely courteous.

Great little ramen restaraunt. Don't bring a large group because seating is very limited. This is a good grab a bite for lunch place. Keep your expectations low and enjoy a good bowl of ramen and you will have a great time.

Passage to India is a vibrant and sophisticated restaurant offering a variety of traditional Indian dishes, including a lunch buffet. While some customers have experienced issues with delivery packaging, others have praised the prompt preparation and beautiful presentation of their meals when ordering through services like Uber Eats. The menu offers delicious options such as tandoori chicken, kebab platters, basil naan, and samosa chaat. Customers recommend customizing spice levels to suit individual tastes and note that the food is cooked perfectly.
This location stands out from other options in the area. Very good atmosphere once you enter the dining area. They did seem short staffed, as we were told there would be a wait; it took us 30 minutes for our appetizer and another 30 for our main dish. But the food was well worth the wait. Very satisfying flavors and spices, as well as excellent lamb. Very good amount of menu options to try as well. Would very well recommend.

An authentic taste of India nestled in the heart of Carlisle. Excellent service, very friendly and cordial. Food made from scratch, so one must be patient. When it came, oh! So delicious! Large portions, spiced to order, flavorful and tasty. Plan on taking some home for the next day. Will be back.

I have eaten at this location when it was Jewels of India, and it was good, but now it is fantastic! I ordered from Uber Eats, and the food was prepared promptly, allowing the driver to get it to me fast and hot. I had the samosa chaat, the kebab platter and basil naan. All of them were great, and the presentation was beautiful, even on a delivery order! Clearly, the chefs take great pride in their work. I work at a hotel and am often asked for restaurant recommendations. This restaurant will be among my top recommendations from now on!
Nicole — Google review
The food is delicious, the packaging, not so great. I ordered on Uber eats and it came in the same open bag that it would if I picked it up myself. It wasn't stapled or taped shut to ensure a safe and untampered delivery. And one of my containers leaked on my other food and bag, so taking it all out was a little messy. It was great, but I'll probably pick it up next time or not order at all. I'm not comfortable knowing the driver could've took a bite of my food without me knowing smh.

The food was so freaking delicious!!! It’s a great restaurant to visit in the area; I usually take pictures before I eat my food but this time it was so good I even forgot!!! If I lived here I’d come here often. The service was great, roughly a 15-20 minute wait but boy was it worth it. The food was amazing, flavorful and umami, just how I like my lamb! If you are wondering it was Halal, which means the animals are treated humanely in life and in death. Once again, I heavily recommend this place!

The vegetable pakora was a great starter. Our tikka masalas were fantastic, and the na’an was fluffy and light. We will be returning. Service was excellent—prompt and attentive. We will definitely return.

First time here. Happened to be a day they had the lunch buffet. Everything was excellent! The service couldn't have been better nor could the food. A large variety from soup, salad, main entree, to dessert. Will definitely return.

Hadn't been to Passage for a while. Going to the buffet today was a nice reminder of the comfortable atmosphere and the extensive choices. From the fresh berries at the top to the excellent kera at the and all of the vegetable dishes inbetween, it all seemed just right to my vegetarian taste. And if you eat meat, I'd guess that that you would be equally pleased.

Massey's Frozen Custard is a delightful stop along the Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail, offering more than just the classic chocolate and vanilla soft serve. With an array of flavors like mint chocolate and unique sundaes such as blueberry, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The bustling atmosphere indicates its popularity among locals, making it a cherished ice cream destination. Visitors can find ample outdoor seating and parking available, although some areas could use a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness.
Stopped here as part of the Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail. Just got the soft serve, but was impressed that they had different flavors other than just chop and vanilla! I got mint chocolate and vanilla. The price was def fair. The place was pretty busy so that’s definitely a good sign of a loved ice cream spot. They had various sundaes on the menu, like blueberry! There was plenty of seating outside, plenty of parking too.You walk inside the lobby and order at the window/counter so no where inside to eat. Plenty of staff to take your order and make it too. Next time I’ll try the sundaes!

Place has great frozen treats and a variety of other things. Everyone inside was very nice and accomidating. Great local shops are always a pleasure to visit. Wish the outside seating was just a little more taken care of. Spills and sticky benches. Other than that, place is awesome.
J S — Google review
I dont know if they changed their recipie or what but this places soft serve custard is not good anymore. Use to be the best custard around. The choclate use to be super creamy and thick and now its dark slop. 0/10 only good thing was the sprinkles.
Autumn L — Google review
The custard was good, but the overall experience was extremely uncomfortable. My partner and I are an interracial couple, and we received several unwelcome stares while trying to order. No one greeted us when we walked in, which added to the feeling of being unwelcome. The color of your skin should never be a reason to be treated differently. If you enjoy being stared at for no reason, this is the place for you—but if you value respect and basic courtesy, look elsewhere. Completely unacceptable.
Jessica — Google review
Massey’s, WHAT happened?! I have been coming for years. Massey’s hand dipped custard is the only custard I eat and I absolutely love it. Always so smooth an creamy and delicious. We went tonight and it was absolutely horrible. The texture was sooo off and literally had ice crystals. We also noticed that ever since the lovely college kids likely went home, the service is much different. We ordered smalls, which usually are packed tight and overflowing. Tonight, the bowls were half full. Super disappointed!! Please go back to your old ways!
Rachel T — Google review
I don't know what's happened but Massey's frozen custard is NO LONGER CUSTARD. It is ice milk garbage. I'll keep it short and sweet. The FDA requires that places advertising frozen custard, actually use custard. If management continues to serve Carlisle ice milk instead of custard, they're likely to get a visit. It's a shame. Just a few months ago they were fine. What's happening?
Chapin T — Google review
Giving two stars only because this place is a Carlisle staple—otherwise, it would’ve been a one-star experience. I made a special trip to bring my husband and daughter here, excited to revisit what was once known for its rich custard, flavor swirls, and fun dip options. Unfortunately, what we received was plain soft-serve vanilla ice cream with no swirl choices in sight. Service left much to be desired. My husband asked for a dipped cone, but the teenage employee handed him a broken cone plopped into a dish and asked if that was okay—clearly a fallback rather than taking the time to redo it properly. My daughter requested one of the sprinkle-rimmed cones displayed, but instead got a plain cone with sprinkles on top. Not the end of the world, but still disappointing. The biggest letdown is the false advertising. They continue to promote the same “original custard” experience, but this simply isn’t it anymore. What they’re serving now doesn’t live up to the name or the nostalgia.

Great frozen custard. From shakes to sundaes this place is just downright awesome! Staff is super helpful in describing what is on the menu and answering questions. Outdoor seating is plenty both in front and in behind. Atmosphere reminds me of being a kid with excitement of eating frozen treats looming in the air. Downright delicious!

Nestled in the heart of Carlisle, George's Subs & Pizza has been a beloved fixture for years, drawing in loyal patrons with its nostalgic charm and hearty offerings. This classic eatery serves up an array of delicious options including pizza, subs, cheesesteaks, and stromboli from Monday to Friday. While the original owner George set a high standard with his exceptional recipes and warm atmosphere, his son Ernie now carries on the legacy alongside a dedicated team.
Exactly what I had expected from this place. Great atmosphere, classic interior is a plus. Many old photos are a nice touch as well. Pizza was good, can't complain about that. Staff was kind and helpful and this place was clean overall. Recommend to give it a try!

Nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Staff was o.k. Very cool photos from the past. Pizza sauce didn't have any seasoning, seemed like it was straight tomato paste(?) and the crust was alittle doughy. I liked the cherry Pepsi the best.

Absolutely loved my visit to George’s Pizza and Subs! This place has a super quaint, mom-and-pop atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food was really good, especially the classic Italian sub which I highly recommend. I asked them to add mayo and put the Italian dressing on the side, which turned out to be a great choice as I could dip my sub into the dressing later. Everything was totally reasonably priced, and the food was super fresh, nothing like the typical chain store offerings. It’s a great little spot that I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Normally the whole family LOVES George's, however the last few meals from there have been sad, under par, and rather disappointing. We all loved the cheese burger subs. Not anymore. The homemade rolls used to be so good, today I could hardly tear the bread with each bite. My sub was wrapped with the foil shoved INSIDE the roll so ALL of my cheese is on the foil. And the final thing about the sub, which normally wouldn't bother me but I'm pregnant so eating pink burger isn't something I want to be doing. The cheese sticks were over cooked.
Queen P — Google review
Our family has been coming to George's for the whole of my daughter and her father's life. This place is SUCH a family tradition, at least it was. Guys, I'll save you the trouble of going because it's disgusting in there. Yes, the original interior is charming and we love the photos HOWEVER this place is falling apart and it looks like the dining area hasn't been cleaned since the 50s. The wall is literally peeling, the vents are coated with sludge- the list goes on. I can't even imagine what the kitchen looks like with a dining area that needs updated so badly. Over the years we've overlooked that for old time sake, but this passed weekend we had our last experience at George's. We ordered a medium pizza and it took 45 minutes to come out, no one else was in the building & the phones were dead. My husband had to ask where our food was just to find it sitting on the counter while the staff finished their conversation. & we could tell it had been sitting there because it was lukewarm when they finally gave it to us. And it was gross- the bacon on this thing was raw. It was not what we loved about George's. This place is dying. The soda machine doesn't even work half the time and you're getting over priced gross food made in, what I can only assume, is a gross kitchen. We LOVE this place so this is a hard write, but it does need some serious love. & this wasn't our first time having experiences like I've just described. This is probably our third time so we really gave it a go. 😭
Hope H — Google review
We called ahead for carry out, arrived 30 minutes later and waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive as if we were eating there. The staff working the counter was extremely rude and acted as if it was a normal occurrence. There was no apology or customer service at all. Food was good but staff needs training. Will hesitate before returning.

Fantastic pizza!! The Supreme was incredible and the sauce is the best I've ever had, with a fantastic combination of herbs and spices. The White pizza was absolutely perfect too, with just the right amount of broccoli, garlic, and the ideal blend of white cheeses. Great take out service. Definitely worth the price!!

It offers a diverse list of ciders, beers on draft, and wines in a trendy two-floor bar setting. Visitors can enjoy live music and delicious ciders, such as the Blue Illusion with perfect flavor balance or the hot buttered rum cider.
Title: Exceptional Dining Experience and More at Grand Illusion! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give Grand Illusion six stars, I would! Our recent visit to this restaurant was nothing short of perfect. Yesterday, my fiancé, my three children, and I enjoyed a delightful meal trying some new items on the menu. The highlight was definitely the nachos - the best I've ever had, paired with an incredible salsa that left us wanting more. The pizzas we ordered were all fantastic, but the cauliflower crust, chicken bacon ranch pizza was a true standout. It may just be the best pizza I've ever tasted! My 8 year old really liked the chicken tenders too. Aside from the amazing food, Grand Illusion also houses an escape room that we've experienced in the past. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant not only for the delicious food but also for the thrilling escape room experience. Whether you come for the escape room, the food, or both, Grand Illusion is sure to impress. The service was impeccable, the ambiance was welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Grand Illusion consistently delivers exceptional food and service, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu. Thank you, Grand Illusion, for exceeding our expectations every time! Highly recommended!

Great establishment. We love breweries but don’t see many places that exclusively serve cider, wine and mead. They have great products and serve other ciders, wines and meads from the state of Pennsylvania. In the heard of historic Carlisle with two levels to dine or grab a table on the sidewalk during nicer weather. All their beverages a fantastic and we loved the chicken tocos.

Great place for lunch, right downtown in Carlisle, two floors. They have a wide variety of ciders and other drinks to choose from. The blue illusion was great, perfect balance of flavors. They also did a delicious hot buttered rum cider. We had the grill cheese and brisket flat bread both excellent.
Doug W — Google review
This hard to detect restaurant/escape room is a gem. Unfortunately, we had to start by parking in a lot and walking to the restaurant, as there was no parking available. Once we were inside though, we were delighted. We were greeted by live music and were taken upstairs to the upper seating. 2 of us had cider flights (6 each), and 3 of us had individual ciders. After trying every person's ciders, I could not believe how utterly impressed I was. I was not unhappy with a single one of them. They tasted amazing, it is no wonder they call themselves a cider place. The food was equally as good but a tad pricey. We started with an appetizer of the pretzel flight, where they give you 3 differently seasoned pretzels and 3 different sauces. (Best combo, Italian pretzel with garlic Parm sauce). I had the bbq chicken flatbread with cauliflower crust ($3.50 extra). It was perfectly filling, gave a good amount of meat, sauce, and cheese. Everything was perfectly proportioned, and I left neither feeling hungry nor overly stuffed. My mom got the same but with the regular crust and was equally happy. My dad got the brisket flatbread and scarfed it down, but it was lacking in the meat. He suggests asking for a side of peppers to add to it for extra flavor. My fiance got the brisket sandwich and said there was a lot of meat, and the beer cheese was an amazing addition. Our friend comes here every week and said she has tried everything on the menu and has never been disappointed. We ended the meal with the cannoli dessert, which could've used a few more chocolate chips but was unique and tasty overall. I can't wait to come back here and maybe even try an escape room next time.

Brewery
Restaurant
Desperate Times Brewery, located near the Carlisle Events Fairground, draws in beer enthusiasts with its historical name and award-winning house-brewed beers. The brewery offers a diverse selection of brews including IPAs, Pilsners, Ales, and dark brews, with tasting samplers available. The Brewhouse and Tap Room also serve a full food menu with German and Irish themed dishes as well as non-alcoholic drinks.
While in Carlisle for work, I came upon this local dive bar. This place has ample parking upfront, wheelchair accessible entrance via a ramp. Be warned, though, the lot is gravel. Once inside, be ready to indulge in some award winning beers! There are, on any given night, 12 to 15 original brews on tap. Feel free to ask for a sample, a flight to sample a few at a time, or a full size glass. All their beers have a great taste, great flavor, color, etc. Their German Weis is my favorite - though they have a range of beers, including lagers, wheat, sours, IPA, kosch, stouts, and whatever seasonal stuff might be up. You can take your favorite beer to go. You can find some of their more popular beers canned and for sale in the refrigerators next to the bar. If you get 4, you save $5! Oh yeah, there's food. They have an extensive kitchen selection. I had The Lincoln - their take on the reuben. For dessert, I had their (huge) pretzel with Nutella dipping sauce.

We came to town for a short trip, and met the other half of our party here for dinner and a beer. Very tasty flight, so many good, homemade German food options, and friendly atmosphere. Carlisle isn’t big, but somehow I had never been to the fairgrounds. Dog friendly patio, but you had to order inside (at least that Monday night). We shared the sauerbraten sandwich and the Reuben. Friendly bartender recommended other places for our stay.

We stopped in Desperate Times Brewery for a late dinner and had our choice of tables. Starting with drinks and an Oliver Twist proved to be a wise choice. The lime gave the Mexican-Style Lager an extra summertime twist, and the beer cheese was a perfect compliment the warm soft pretzel (that was perfect for sharing). For dinner we opted to get sandwiches which were served warm and were full of flavor. Service was great, and we didn’t feel rushed even though we were on the later end of the dinner service. Looking forward to our next visit, so we can try more delicious items!

Brewery has an industrial look, with a large clean inside and some seating outside. Service was great, drinks and food came out fast and fresh. We had tacos and nachos, which were great. Beer was good and the selection was your standard listing for a craft brewery. Prices were very fair ($6 pint, $8 for 3 tacos). When in town we will be back.

Service is phenomenal. I had the Mexican Lager and the Raspberry Lemon Drop. Both were excellent drinks. The sausage I had was super flavorful and the kraut was good. Unfortunately they served it in a roll versus a bun. The casing was too tough and I had to use a knife and fork. Played some board games, ate some food and had some good drinks. Desperate Times = Good times.

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere new for us here in Carlisle and decided to try Desperate Times as the menu sounded good and cider was advertised. We arrived around 7:40pm for a late dinner. We got a great table in the corner by the window. Our server was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the original cider & the cranberry cider to try. They were okay, but both had an aftertaste of beer. I expected more of an apple base to them. That was a bit disappointing for us. We were very impressed with the German fair on the menu and both ordered a Paddy Wagon. The different sausages were excellent! The sauerkraut and potato salad were delicious. I only wish we got bigger portions! Big fans of the German mustard. Could have used more of that as well. Highly recommend the food here! Will have to try different drinks next time. We look forward to returning.

Had a fantastic dining experience at a nice local brew pub and German eatery. Deb was both the bartender and my server and she was very friendly and offered me the ability to taste some of the beers I was interested in. I selected the Swarzbier and Law Breaker Oatmeal Stout. I personally selected the Lawbreaker because I don’t like hoppy beers. The beer paired nicely with the sausage selection I opted for. They have a selection of three sausage platter that was fantastic. The natural casing gave each a nice snap. The bonus unexpected was the offer for the curry ketchup. Each was unique and extremely tasty. My only negative was the sauerkraut was soggy and not crisp. It was a nice flavored Bavarian style kraut too. The other bonus was the brochen. I would definitely go back when visiting Carlisle.

Atmosphere was good, service was good, we had a large party outside. The food was here and there, not many in our group enjoyed the pulled pork style sandwich, the sausages were very good as was the potato salad. Everyone seemed to enjoy the beer selection, the wine was pretty bad. It's not hard to stock decent wine, especially at 9$ a glass. I'm not sure if it's local, but that could be the problem. 😬 We enjoyed our time there, I did hate all the paper plates and plastic wear though.

Denim Coffee is a local favorite known for serving locally roasted coffee and offering bags of coffee for purchase. The spacious tables and inviting environment make it an ideal spot to study or work outside of home. Visitors praise the exceptional quality of the coffee, with some even comparing it favorably to renowned coffee destinations like Seattle and Portland. Customers also appreciate the accommodating service, as evidenced by a story of receiving extra lattes during a photo shoot at the café.
First time here time here, got a quick bit to eat for lunch while on break from the courthouse with jury duty. Had the grill cheese sandwich, 🧀 was good. Wished it had a bit more grilling with butter for that cheesy taste, but was good overall.....coffee, you can't go wrong....Will be back for more coffee tomorrow.

Charming corner coffee shop with big picturesque windows and coffee that’s prices just right. Over the course of a few days, I got multiple iced lattes and every time it was ordered, it tasted exactly the same. Nice light blend of espresso and milk for a great morning treat or an afternoon refresher… or both. We were staying local, so we didn’t have to worry about parking, but it did look like parking may just be street parking. Nice, polite staff that offered great hospitality. The place had a steady stream of customers in and out of the shop. Totally adding this place to my “must visit again” list if I find myself in Carlisle again!

Loved it here. I’m a “certified home barista” so it’s tough for me to find coffee outside that I’m happy with. Happened to be in Carlisle for work and was tired of the dirt water being served at my hotel. Cruised down the road to Denim and was super happy. Absolutely enjoyed my latte with extra shot. Was crafted with care for sure. Love the atmosphere and the messaging on the front window. Sandwich and scone were “fine” but the coffee was great. Will return when I’m back in town for work again!

Great location on the square. Their specialty cold coffee is good Great for a summer day. Macchiatos were good. The coffee blend used was not to my liking, but it was flavorful. The sandwich was prepared to my order, though not made for sharing. Thank you, staff, for the great service .

Very welcoming ambiance. Very clean. The 8 ounce cappuccino I ordered was delicious and priced right. We were staying local, but didn’t have to worry about parking, … easy parking on the street. Nice, polite staff that offered great hospitality. The place had a steady stream of customers in and out of the shop. Totally adding this place to my “must visit again” list if I find myself in Carlisle again!

I Ordered a mocha frappe with a caramel pecan brownie. I must say Denim Coffee brings Dunkin and starbucks to shame. The frappe complimented the brownie and the brownie complimented the frappe making it an experience! I always get worried ordering a frappe because im afraid it wouldnt be sweet enough, but this was perfect! This is a must visit coffee shop when adventuring Carlisle.

I don't consider any other coffee shop as a hometown coffee shop besides this one... The staff is all amazing people.... We had a situation where a restaurant named Hamilton on high Street refuse to give a homeless man cold water in 90 degrees weather... So I ran to the coffee shop they gave me a handful of cups of water and ice... They told me to come back to fill up the cups for the homeless community.... Every morning I go and stop and get a large cup of ice... I really just enjoy talking to the staff very nice people that work there. Ray is so awesome very caring... I am actually set on a coffee shop and I will not go nowhere else... There coffee is amazing to... Breakfast sandwiches are 🔥.... Best downtown Carlisle Coffee shop 👐🏻 down!! Nothing but mad respect and appreciation... There is no other coffee shop that cares about the humanbeings that are homeless then these guys!!

Great place for coffee! And conveniently located right on the square in Carlisle. Warm and friendly with a wonderful selection of drinks and eats. And best of all they roast in-house which makes the coffee even better. I'll be a regular in no time at all. "The usual, please."

Yak N Yeti II is an American restaurant located in Carlisle, PA. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options for everyone, including vegan choices. Customers have praised the friendly and helpful staff as well as the comfortable seating options. While some dishes may not be as spicy or authentic as traditional Nepalese or Bhutanese cuisine, the overall dining experience has been positively reviewed.
How refreshing! After stopping at two restaurants in Mechanicsburg and not even getting greeted (after standing there 5 minutes), we weekend in here to a warm 'hello' and were seated immediately. Service was great, food arrived promptly. Was very well seasoned, spicy but not hot. Highly recommended.

Really good find in Carlisle. Small footprint, but the food was really good, with great friendly service. When we went on a Saturday after the football game, they were serving buffet style which was great given that we didn't know what to order. My favorite was the curry shrimp. So many good dishes to try. Wish we had this place near us.

I can't say enough good about this place. My wife and I travel about 40 min to just come here to eat. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch. One side note is this type of food is spicy... But they will accommodate you if you don't like your food as spicy as it would normally be. Always a wonderful experience.

Received the best greeting in Carlisle when we walked in. The place was buzzing with customers and yet, one waiter made you feel at home and relaxed. Food came out quick but on the salty side. We will come back and try different dishes again.

This was my first time eating at Yak and Yeti but it won't be my last. The service was outstanding, very knowledgable and friendly. I have a gluten allergy and I had a lot of questions. They were very patient with me and made some great recommendations. The food was AMAZING and very reasonably priced.

Outstanding food and service. Sanya's recommendations were spot on. I had the Wai Wai, veggie momos, and datsi with potatoes and mustard greens - total comfort food. I'll be back the next time I'm in Carlisle. A+

What a delightful find! We stumbled upon this little gem by accident and had never tried this type of cuisine but our server was absolutely lovely and took the time to answer all our questions and make recommendations. We started with the plate of variety Momo's which were served with a delicious dipping sauce with just the right amount of heat. I choose the beef Datsi & my husband had the Thimphu. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and came out in a timely manner. For dessert we shared the Kheer (Himalayan rice pudding). Do yourself a favor and give this gem a chance. From the decor to the food you won't be disappointed

We stumbled upon Mummert Chocolates in downtown Carlisle, and it was like finding a hidden treasure! The aroma is incredible when you first walk in. Located in a charming historic Carlisle, this family-run business has a delightful old-world vibe that instantly made us feel at home. You can really tell that this is a multi-generational family affair, and their passion for chocolate shines through in every bite. Their selection is impressive, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for such high-quality treats. We couldn't resist trying their cherry cordials and chocolate-covered espresso beans, which became our favorites! These are the kind of indulgences that make you want to come back for more. The staff here were so friendly and engaging, they make the experience even more enjoyable. It's clear they love what they do, and they’re eager to help you find the perfect treat or gift. We had a child with us and they were so welcoming to him. If you’re looking for something special for a gift or indulging yourself, Mummert Chocolates is the place to go. We will be back to explore more of their delicious offerings! Street parking is best option, it is metered. Highly recommend!

Family of five, one of whom doesn't care for most chocolates, all left extremely happy, even Dad who doesn't care for chocolate and had to pay. The prices are fairly high if you would be happy with a variety bag of Hershey bars, but they are very reasonable for these handmade treats! The peanut butter chocolate MAY be better than Reese's peanut butter cups, the chocolate- covered molasses sponge was delicious, and the cordial was very cordially. The chocolate was good and the extremely pleasant, patient owner made repeat customers of us!

Northgate Antiques is a treasure trove for vintage enthusiasts, featuring an impressive array of over 70 vendors showcasing everything from military memorabilia to exquisite jewelry. This expansive antique mall invites you to explore its vast selection, with items ranging from the ornate to the everyday. The layout includes various booths that cater to different tastes and budgets, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Similar to many of the antique shops in my own area, seperated into booths for different sellers. This place is large. I found what I was looking for in my sweep of the first floor, so I don't know what awaits one upstairs. Some booths are harder to look through than others, just depends on the arrangement. Quite the gamut of items though. Fancy to plain. Some are $$$ and some are quite reasonable. I am quite pleased with my purchase. Check out was friendly and my items were carefully wrapped.
Shannon C — Google review
The store itself is fine. Only a few people in the store so not busy. People who manage acted like we were bothering them. Texting/looking at their phones and we stood waiting for their attention. Asked if they could do any better on prices. “No.”

As other reviewers have mentioned, this place is much bigger than it appears from the outside. There are two floors to explore. They have their own parking lot in front as well as additional parking in the back. Most of the vendors had sales going on. $5 minimum for credit card transactions. One of the gentlemen working was kind enough to walk me to my car with an umbrella as it’d started pouring.

I really wanted to like this place. Went exploring Carlisle today, and was loving the feel of the town until I came into some antique stores selling items that are blatantly racist. You truly made your town look bad by having things like these proudly displayed. Shame on you, Carlisle.

The Garden Gallery, run by Charles Andrews, has been a trusted destination for custom framing of lithographs and restoration of vintage items for decades. From restoring 150-year-old hand-painted PA Dutch Fraktur to arranging vintage jewelry collections, Charles's expertise and eye for design make it a go-to spot in Harrisburg. Visitors can also find trendy clothing and accessories at nearby boutiques like clothesVine and Sanctuary Boutique, as well as unique vintage fashion at Miss Ruth's Time Bomb.
This gallery is a gem! The owners, especially Suzanne, are a vibe. The cards in the photo are her creation, and the original beautiful artwork, "Snake Jet Pthalo" and "We Make the Only Permanent Tenderness" (mixed media collage), are by Dave Reinbold. I really appreciate the visual aesthetics and can't wait to frame my purchases!
Samantha — Google review
Did not care for the experience at all. I give them 2 stars for their knowledge of framing. I went in as a first time client, and first time framing something, to use a gift certificate up before it expired at the end of this month. I got the impression that the sale was more important than me. Never got price comparisons from them for the difference in frame costs. I would've asked, but I was trying to stay one step ahead of the guy's sales pitch. I hope it looks amazing-it better be for what I'm paying. I have no intention of using them again.
Ellen V — Google review
For decades I have trusted and relied on Charles Andrews at the Garden Gallery for custom framing of lithographs, restoration and framing of my great great grandfather's 150 year old hand-painted PA Dutch Fraktur (birth certificate) (that was torn and had been glued to a piece of plywood), and arrangement and display of a large collection of vintage jewelry. Charles has an eye for design and the ability and experience to make it happen. The Garden Gallery is a Carlisle Institution, and a pleasure to wander through; so many beautiful and interesting pieces!

Cemetery
The Carlisle Indian Boarding School Cemetery is located within a military compound and was part of the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, established in 1879 to assimilate Native American children into colonial culture. This initiative, which aimed to educate and integrate indigenous youth, has been criticized for its harmful impact. Visitors should be aware of the authoritarian atmosphere that once dominated the school grounds. Photography is prohibited at the cemetery.
The cemetery rests within a military compound so do not be surprised if you are greeted and treated with the same authoritarian and domineering demeanor that these children were subject to day in and day out. If you wish to take photos do it discreetly because it is forbidden. Families seeking to reclaim their identity and family history will be asked to provide their ID for a background check and prove who they are before they enter, ironically, even if they are entering because proof of who they really are is resting there in the cemetery. There is a map of the cemetery with the names of all the children. Some of the graves include the tribal identity of the child; Comanche, Cherokee, Arapaho, Apache, and more. Some of the children's names are the ones given to them by the institution, others maintain their native name in the native language, some have a Christian name and a tribal name, others have a Christian name and their tribal name translated to English (such as Louise Thunder). Some of the graves include the name of the child's father however all of those names seem to be Christian names. Feel free to bring an offering as many clearly have in the past.

Although many would like to prevent people from learning about the dark parts of American history, labeling it as "anti-American," it's imperative we learn about such horrors so we can stand up and prevent something like this from ever happening again. Recognizing the past, learning from it, and raising up those who are different and disadvantaged make us a more perfect Union.

Sprawling state park with 16 miles of scenic hiking trails, plus an educational program center.
I'm slightly biased about Kings Gap Environmental Education Center, as my property connects to the north end of this beautiful state park. Spanning 2,500 acres from the crest of South Mountain down to the valley below, Kings Gap offers a diverse landscape. The park features numerous hiking trails suited to all skill levels. For those seeking an easy walk, the forest pools and pine plantation areas provide flat, peaceful routes with no elevation gain. However, if you're up for a challenge, I highly recommend the Vista Overlook and Ridge Overlook Trails, which are among my favorites. Even if hiking isn't your thing, the drive up to the mansion is one of the most scenic in South Central Pennsylvania. At the mountain's summit, near the mansion, there's a beautifully maintained garden that's well worth a visit. Beyond its natural beauty, Kings Gap serves as an education center, bustling with activities. My children have loved the summer camps hosted by the rangers, making our visits both educational and fun. I'm grateful to have Kings Gap in my backyard and look forward to many more years of exploring its trails and enjoying the stunning views of South Mountain.

Beautiful views and a wonderful scenic drive to get there. Arrived too early to enter the mansion, but it looked very interesting from the outside.
David S — Google review
This place is a different experience than the other typical hikes. This place is a little deep into the woods (a bit isolated) but the views from here were spectacular. There are a lot of hiking trails from easy to difficult. I would definitely recommend going to this place, Especially during the evening, to witness the beautiful sunset. Also, beware of the rattle snakes on hiking trails.

Cons: the bugs Pros: EVERYTHING ELSE Not only do they have the flower garden /butterfly garden, but they also have events scheduled regularly. Both musically and educationally. They have their learning center on site that is open for special events and plenty of picnic tables and areas to sit to enjoy a day outside with family. If all of that wasn't enough, you have the chance for one of the most amazing views, not only in the Franklin Cumberland county area, but is comparable to anywhere you'd see in the state. Great spot to take the family out for a picnic and requires a nice winding drive through the forest to get there!

Main stone building you see is not the actual main building. So that's confusing! The paths/trails were very confusing for a non professional hiker. The map you get has orientation lines so unless you know that, pay attention to your path! Color coded paths need more definitive coloring. 1 path was yellow, then it split but there was also purple marks. Maybe better signage too is needed. I can see people easily getting lost.

Stopped in for some celtic music on a beautiful afternoon. I liked the variety of herbs in the garden, and how it was laid out. The pond was nicely tucked in there too, but everything was a bit dry around the garden (like most places around here right now). We really enjoyed walking around, enjoying the smells, and listening to the bands play. The volunteers were friendly and even sold us on upcoming events. Overall loved the place, the staff, the atmosphere, and the bands that played

Beautiful park with medium size waterfall, a peaceful place and very lovely. Water is warm till you get close to the falls in the summer months. Slippery jagged rocks so watch your feet! Overall worth going to on my lunch break :)
Nina ( — Google review
Honestly, less of a "park" and more of a "park"-ing lot with creek access. A little walking path with a foot bridge across to the "falls" would be what is needed to consider calling this a park at the very least. A picnic area would also be a big plus. But if all you're looking for is creek access then this parking lot will do the trick.
Matthew R — Google review
It's more of a stream than a falls. I think folks use it mainly for kayaking, tubing, and fishing. The little falls is at the right under the little bridge. Have to walk back over the main bridge to get to it.
Gus M — Google review
Cute little river and waterfall. Water is shallow enough to walk in, but just be careful with the rocks. If you don't have thick calluses then your feet will hurt a bit.
Chris C — Google review
Nice little boat launch area, does get mistaken for the nature preserve with the hiking trail... which is a few miles away
Lisa L — Google review
Small, no trails, and you have to cross a busy road bridge on foot (no sidewalk) to actually get to the falls. Still, nicely maintained and an awesome spot to drop a kayak or canoe.

Very nice park. Lots of room for my grandson to run and play. Packed a lunch and enjoyed eating at picnic table. We had so much fun. Very enjoyable for the both of us.
Christina H — Google review
Great park depending what events are going on. The kids in the area do not respect the equipment and were throwing mulch all over the playground, flipping each other off, yelling swear words... I would hesitate to bring my kid here when other events are going on.
Esther P — Google review
A solid park overall with a nice walking trail. It would be a great trail for a storywalk. The playground has two sections which is great, tire swings, regular swings, and toddler swings. Sadly, the playground is not fenced in haha. But it is far enough from parking lots and traffic that it's not a huge negative and most playgrounds are not fenced in (but I love when they are!).
Sarah A — Google review
Very spacious, family friendly park. Lots of sports fields!
Claudia C — Google review
This is a large park with many football, baseball and soccer fields. Playground equipment looks very new. Paths to walk. Water fountains. Clean grounds. Plenty of parking. The only negative I have to say is that the trees are very young, so aren't providing much shade - most of the park is open to the sun.
Betsy B — Google review
Our youth baseball league plays here as our home fields. The park itself is nice. There's a park for the younger kids, bathroom facilities, and a freshly paved walking path that goes around the entire park. And you can bring your dogs for a walk.

I love playing cricket and we had a game in stony Ridge park and it was my 1st time @ stony. I found stony park got many aminites for adults & They got cool place for kids, soccer field , cricket field ,baseball and many more. Also they got food court, restroom and walking area.

This is a large township park with a building with restrooms. At all times, the is a gravel trail around most of the park. There are several baseball fields and at least one football field. Other sports leagues hold games and practices here as well. Parking is plentiful with a mix of asphalt and stone parking lots. There are two playgrounds, one for toddlers and kids 5 to 12. There is a pavilion with multiple picnic tables.

Park
Lovely place. Small, but clean. No restrooms which is unfortunate. Only two hot and smelly portable potties which aren't suitable for young children my gbaby's age. She's only four and wasn't able to use it due to the unclean nature of it. There is a small center with restrooms on the premises, but is not open for public use. There are picnic tables, a grill, and multiple benches located throughout the small park as well.
Shani S — Google review
Well kept free place for kids to cool off on these hot summer days. Playground next door and Pavilion near the parking lot with plenty of seating although it is often reserved. Worst thing I can say is that the actual Splash Pad itself can be very slippery so it would be best to wear some type of water shoes or sandals while playing. Nice little Park overall that doesn't get an excessive amount of foot traffic due to it being someone off the beaten path. Would certainly recommend for families with small children.

How Is This Free?! A Splash Pad Miracle in Middlesex Do you ever stumble into a place that’s so good—so pure—so joyfully chaotic in all the right ways—that you start looking around for hidden cameras or a surprise admission fee? That’s the Middlesex Township Splash Pad. Located behind the community center like a little blue oasis of glory, this place is what summer dreams are made of—without the stress, sweat, or soul-sucking line of a waterpark. It’s fenced in (praise be), never wildly crowded (miraculous), and here’s the kicker: the surface isn’t slippery. I don’t know what kind of NASA-grade non-skid coating they used, but I’ve got kids running wild and not wiping out like Olympic curling stones for once. Bonus Hacks from a Splash Pad Pro: • Bring empty buckets, cups, or that one random mixing bowl your toddler is irrationally obsessed with. Endless entertainment. • Put the baby in a tip-proof walker and let them live their very best spa day. Our youngest rolled through those fountains like she was casually evaluating real estate. • Forget pool fees and wristbands—this is free, fenced, and full of water joy. It’s basically a secret summer loophole. My kids spent an hour strategically filling buckets, dumping them dramatically over each other’s heads, and perfecting their ninja moves through the fountains while I sat nearby not sweating through my shirt. A true unicorn moment in parenting. 10/10. Would recommend to anyone with kids, heat exhaustion, or a deep need to feel like you’ve won at summer without paying for it. Check it out before the rest of the world finds out about this Central PA gem… or don’t. I kind of want to keep it our little secret.
Rachael B — Google review
The splash pad shut off 15 mins early. Otherwise it's a nice place for kids with a park and pavilion nearby.
Melinda S — Google review
At first it was a better place than in Carlisle. But after a couple days my niece got a little cough and we thought nothing of it. Well this past week we went back to Middlesex and she eventually got a fever and she went to the doctors and got Hand and Foot from the splash pad. So to all the mommies and daddies ETC. please don’t take your babies there. She has symptoms of rashes all over. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Be careful ❤️‍🩹
Heaven R — Google review
Great place for smaller children. My 11 and 12 year old had fun as well though.
William W — Google review
Great place in the warm seasons for the kids to play. Splash pad is safe with a childproof locking gate, so the children cannot exit without assistance or noticing. It's away from the road and parking lot, so moving cars are not a worry. The play ground is locked close enough that kids can easily at at both without moving your location. It's also located out of town so it's quiet and an all around safe area to be in. There are not built-in restrooms, but porta John's available. Baseball fields surround the area as well as a basketball court and another playground in walking distance. There's also a walking trail around the parks, in the open and also one to take you back into the beautiful views of the woods. One of the best and safest parks in town.

The Winery at the Long Shot Farm is a perfect destination for a relaxing time with loved ones. Whether you're visiting with your partner, friends, or family, this place offers a great atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. You can enjoy board games inside or bring your own food to pair with their delicious wines. The outdoor area by the pond is ideal for lounging with chairs or blankets while sipping on wine. Children can also have fun with icees and play outside on the grassy areas.
Amazing views and great collection of wines. The summer blend white was perfect for a hot summer day in July. Would go back again when we are in the area. So peaceful and relaxing. Loved it! Plenty of open Space for our little ones to run around as well.

Very Peaceful, serene and beautiful local winery and vineyard. Great ambience. You can sit on the deck or anywhere around the property, near the lake on the property, and just enjoy. A small indoor wine shop is very cute and everyone here is very warm and welcoming. They have live music on the weekends.

This is an amazing place. Offer so much fun stuff. Painting, craft shows, and so much more. The wine is tasty, and the slushies are soo good!! I also think you can bring your own food and sit on deck with a bottle and enjoy scenery. Very relaxing place.

We just visited the winery as we were heading home to New Jersey. What a great find! Most wineries we find have great tasting wine but no absence, and visa Vera. This one had both! Beautiful scenery as you sipped delicious wine on the deck. Nick was an awesome host as he explained each tasting to us. The people working here must live their job, as they are just so nice!

It's a great place to visit if you want to have a relax time with your partner, friends or family. They have board games to use inside and you can bring your oun food. Also, you can bring your chairs or blankets and be outside beside the pond. You will experience awesome service, great wine and even your little ones can have icee's and play outside on the grass. If you decide to visit, I'm sure you will have a great time.

What a lovely hidden gem! It is an area of quiet by a great stream with a multifunction playground area set up for multiple age groups. It is super easy to reserve the pavilion for a party as we did and there are actually nice bathrooms at the park too. The only minor item is that there is no running water
Douglas M — Google review
We brought some of the grandchildren here to splash in the creek. It was shallow and clear, so a wonderful place for them to cool off. They enjoyed the playground as well.

Latemorning, I caught a couple of medium size native brown trout on mini crankbaits. Waded about a mile until I reached the second bridge near Pine Rd, and then walked back to the park entrance. Early mornings are more productive Returned to the park today, and caught and released 4 small wild brown trout. Their adipose fin, a small fin between the dorsal and tail fin has a slight, characteristic red pigment in it. If you are targeting these fish, I recommend fly fishing with barbless hooks that can be easily removed, no bait which can get stuck in their gut. I personally use tiny jerk baits, but I am very carefully when dislodging the treble hook so as not to make the fish bleed. Waiting for the next spring stocking.

Smaller, hidden away yet in the near center of town, park with attractions to keep the youngsters busy. Playground includes a kid friendly climbing wall, classic swing set, couple of those classic spring mounted animal things and a more modern plastic slide/tube combo setup. Additional offerings are a half size urban basketball court, sturdy modern benches and a picnic table under a large tree. Plaque featuring history of the park , sign of donation acknowledgements and free book swap box can be found in the south-east corner.

They have a nice community garden area free of charge. You keep what you grow. Well maintained & peaceful as long as the older teens aren't there.
Nikki J — Google review
It's an OK setup. I enjoy watching my little one playing on the slides, running across the bridge, and balancing her way across the beams. The field is ginormous, which is awesome, surrounded by a walking trail. There's electricity at the pavilion, access to water, and water fountains. There's a place to barbecue and plenty of seating. There's handicap parking at the pavilion. The only real downside is that people tend to come and "smoke" at the pavilion or in their cars, then leave their trash everywhere. If people would use the trash cans provided by the borough at the park, that would solve that problem. The other downside is that people don't always clean up after their pets, I believe two small trash cans on post by the track designated for animal waste could solve that too.
George B — Google review

Dog park
I've found this to be one of the most under utilized perks of Carlisle. There is a small yearly fee to use this park, but it is well worth it. Key fob access ensures verified visitors with good oversight on health records so you know your furry friend is only interacting with other up-to-date dogs. There's a messaging app to facilitate meet ups. It's properly maintained and massive, with areas for small dogs, large dogs, and meetings / entryways. There are balls and frisbees on site to play with as well as tires, jumps, and fresh water. It's the perfect zone for a play, romp, and sniff. There are also benches and Adirondack chairs for human chaperones. All humans and dogs we've interacted with have been great, and it's been a blessing for our high energy dog. The application process is straight forward and fast, and daylight hours make access easy for whatever your schedule is. Definitely worth a visit if your dog is itching for a large area to run and/or meet and play with other friendly dogs.
Dave F — Google review
A membership only park increases safety for dogs and people. My pups love it and we go daily. Not intended to be a pass-through travel park, but if you know you’re going to be passing through you can email license and shot records ahead of time for a temporary pass. Great fun, great people.
Debra C — Google review
This dog park is wonderful! There is a small yearly membership fee (since it’s not a government funded park) and an easy registration process to make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccines. Well worth it though! Most members use a messaging platform so you can make the most your visits and be there when other dogs are there. Highly recommend if you live in the area!
Nicole B — Google review
This place LOOKS phenomenal. However we didn't realize you had to have a visitors pass in order to enter the dog park. You literally can't access it without a gate code. They do have a visitor's pass but it takes at least 2-3 days to get that. Plus you need to submit all your vet paperwork in order to get said pass. We would have loved to enjoy this really cool park, but unfortunately we were just passing through and I did a quick search for dog parks not realizing the stipulations.😫
Adra M — Google review
This is the best dog park I have ever been to. The fencing and gates are good; it has security cameras and access controls; it has bags available; it's clean and well maintained; it has separate small dog and big dog areas for safety; they screen the dogs for having up to date shot records, license and for good temperament. Visitors are welcome too for a day pass if they can arrange a meeting in advance and provide proof of records on their dog(s). They even have dog walking trails in the woods outside of the main fenced section. The cost is very reasonable for everything this dog park offers. This is a great asset for the community.
Brett C — Google review
Awesome dog park! Large area for big dogs to play! As far as the shot records etc......public dog parks require this too! Have you ever read the signs at the public parks? There is just no one who monitors that the dogs REALLY have their shots. So, what happens when a dog without their shots bites another dog? This dog park has your back and the dogs back. If there is any aggression from a dog the dog isn't allowed to come back. I feel safe bringing my dog here knowing the dogs here have their shots and haven't shown aggression. My dog loves it!
Charlene P — Google review
Great place to let you dogs run and play. Our app allows you to let others know when you will be coming.
Randy B — Google review
I had to chuckle at some of the negative reviews about this park. Yes, it’s a membership only park. Which means you pay $50 a year, amounting to less than 15 cents a day. If that’s too much to pay for the safety, well being, and happiness of your dog, then you’re welcome to go somewhere else. It’s also a LOCAL park, and was never intended to accommodate people passing through town. It’s nothing personal, it just provides a more controlled and safer environment for our dogs. In my opinion, there are just more risks associated with using public parks. Unvaccinated dogs, no behavior rules, etc. But there’s no need to troll the website and knock it for being private. 50 bucks is not alot of money to pay if those things are important to you and your dog. With all of that being said, the park itself is well maintained (many members volunteer their time) and a huge space for pups to run and play.

This is my favorite park in all of Carlisle. It's quiet and peaceful. Up until about eight years ago my bestfriend lived outback for some twenty odd years... I have so many memories as kids just walking from his Mom's to the park and hanging out until dark. It's got an amazing trail around the park that is paved which is so nice for walking or riding your bike or I used to skateboard on it but I honestly think the park has signs to NOT do that so probably shouldn't do that now. It can be a bit louder and crowded in the summertime from like 5-7:30 because they have Cheer & Football practice or they used too it may have moved you never know with school events. It's great for Pokémon Go, If you're into that (I am) they're three gyms I believe and always a ton of wild Pokémon. Add me if you play & want more friends R2C3R9XH3.
