WellSpan Park is a 5,200-seat baseball stadium that opened in 2007 and serves as the home of the York Revolution minor league team. Visitors praise the variety of food available, with particular mention of the delicious funnel cake. However, some find parking to be inconvenient due to distance and cost. The park is known for its clean facilities, friendly staff, and reasonable prices for both tickets and concessions.
Always have a great time at the York Revolution’s games. It’s a nice outing for the family and doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg to watch a good game.
G H — Google review
Very cool stadium with excellent staff. Loved our ball game. Everyone has nice fun. Food was great. Prices were reasonable. Parking was tricky. Will be back
Tayush M — Google review
Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out with the crowd! What a delightful evening with friends. The game was tons of fun as well.
Dave H — Google review
Very nice park, good seats. Welcoming staff and atmosphere.

Great family fun. Went on Wednesday for bark in the park and took our dogs. What a fun event.
Brian G — Google review
Nice experience. Parking can be a challenge, so prepare in advance. The food was good. I would recommend getting the heritage section seats with in seat service.
James S — Google review
Field in great shape. Good sightlines. Seating not overly cramped. Consessions close by and reasonably priced. Plenty of handicap seating.
Remy H — Google review
Watched a great York Revolution game and enjoyed the perfect weather for evening baseball. Lots of activities between innings to keep you entertained. Food was a bit pricey, but tasty.

Flea & Street Markets
Central Market House, a historic market established in 1888 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers an array of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and crafts. While it may not be a large farm market with only a few vendors for produce, meat, deli items, and fish, it is renowned as an excellent spot for lunch with diverse options. Visitors can find locally made jewelry, art pieces and furniture at some stands within the market.
Great choices! Pullshot coffee is amazing! The infused olive oil is the best I have ever had . So many choices, great market.
Lisa E — Google review
My first visit here was great. The food was incredibly delicious, and the array of mouth watering dishes to choose from with each local vendor was awesome. I appreciate the diverse selection of cuisines available, including Caribbean, Egyptian, Japanese, Korean, & various other international options. Needless to say, I am eagerly anticipating my next visit – which is an understatement!
Yours T — Google review
Probably would have been better if more stalls were opened. Went on a Thursday around 10AM and a lot of the stalls had signs stating....not open...open at 12...open on Saturday. What was open was decent, including a homemade jewelry stall and a fresh Italian food stall. Just next door connected is the Mudhoom Brewery.... they were very good .. visited them the previous evening
Thomas K — Google review
I'm told many many of what made York great, the bone structure, the historical vibes - are gone. Again with the bougie nonsense tearing down history THE GOOD History across the country. Not everything needs replacing. This is almost all that's worth visiting when I return home. Some shops I frequented are still there, others gone, but.. ..leave this place alone
Moni G — Google review
What a wonderful market! Central Market in downtown York PA has something to offer for everyone. Housing a robust collection of prepared food, produce and craft vendors, the market makes for the perfect Saturday morning activity. Food options are diverse, ranging from fresh made pizza and bagels to sushi to Brazilian cheese waffles (must try). On the produce/grocery side, you have a wide variety of locally grown veggies and sourced meats available. Highly suggest checking out the oil and vinegar stand located towards the right side of the market, as they have some unique infusions that will elevate any home chef's creations. Prices overall are very reasonable considering the quality and locally sourced nature of the goods. Parking is relatively easy, as there are 2 garages within a block of the market as well as meter street parking (both are free on Saturdays). If you ever find yourself in York, definitely make it a point to stop by Central Market for some shopping and lunch!
Brad R — Google review
This place is huge! Lots of food vendors. I had 2 wild and crabby guys. A shrimp and crab quesadilla. My husband had a gyro. Then for dessert we got fromna Italian place.
Mindy L — Google review
I love this place! The food and people are extremely nice. There are so many different cool vendors, food, and products to try! I highly recommend paying a visit.
Dwayne R — Google review
Such a cool market with plenty of options to please everybody. Local, hard working vendors offering great food and products. I've only come on a Saturday so it's always lively. Haven't even tried everything yet and we left with takeout too.

Theaters
The Appell Center for the Performing Arts consists of two theaters, the Capitol and the Strand, both rich in history. Nowadays, these venues host live Broadway shows and other performances. The facility offers ample parking, a friendly staff, and a variety of snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. The seating is comfortable with plenty of room to move around. Visitors can enjoy exceptional sound quality while watching amazing performances by acclaimed artists such as Lake Street Dive or Enter the Haggis.
Attended a concert at his venue for the first time. Not really a bad seat in the house, and the beer lines and bathroom lines, although long, moved very quickly
Thomas K — Google review
Excellent venue to see a performance. Sound system was well suited for the performers ( Foster & O'Hara). York symphony orchestra was not overpowering. seats were comfortable . Only negative is the process of ordering tickets online. It was not very clear for non techy people.
Philip D — Google review
Nice small venue. Row N seats have severely limited leg room. @6'2", I couldn't sit there. Should be better identified as limited legroom. I was able to be relocated and enjoyed the concert.
Ken T — Google review
This place is so cool. The old architecture and style warms my heart. They bring in great talent so the shows are always good. The only thing I can suggest is maybe a little more cleaning as it tends to be a little dusty in the nooks and crannies.
Jen B — Google review
Took my husband to see the Rush Tribute Project perform and this place was beautiful inside. The attendants were very helpful and the concession stand was well put together. Even though we had a fire alarm and had to evacuate, they got us cleared out and back in to enjoy the rest of the show. The separate parking garage we ended up in was so close to the venue. Great all around!
Mick M — Google review
Tamara was one of the volunteers here who was absolutely lovely and very friendly. She told us all about the theatre and made sure people found their seat. Beautiful place and beautiful people.

Historic Sites
The York County History Center is a museum and archive that offers interactive exhibitions showcasing the history of York County. Despite its small size, it boasts a noteworthy collection of artifacts that represent the area's cultural heritage. The museum also considers visitors with limited mobility by providing ample seating and an elevator to access all floors. However, patrons looking for an extensive gift shop may be disappointed as it is rather small with limited options.
I grew up in York and brought my west coast husband here for a journey into history. Out guide, John, was personable and witty. The relics, displays, and stories were amazing. I recommend spending an hour or so browsing the exhibits and take the guided tour! We didn't time it correctly, but they do ghost tours in October as well.
Susan Z — Google review
I went during the St. Paddy’s weekend events so I got in for free from 3-5. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restrooms are clean. The interactive sections make the experience even more fun. I love the emphasis on local history and the people who made this city what it is. I also love that Black community members are visually documented speaking about their experiences and having their voices heard. This was a beautiful place and would go again.
M P — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The York County History Center is an absolute gem—a strategic deep-dive into the heartbeat of early American industry, revolution, and community resilience. From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in expertly curated exhibits that don’t just display history—they negotiate with it. The Revolutionary War gallery is a masterclass in interpretive storytelling, and the Harley-Davidson legacy section hits with both horsepower and heritage. Staff are not just friendly—they’re subject matter experts who operate like historical consultants, not tour guides. I asked a question about the Articles of Confederation, and the docent didn’t just answer—he gave a comparative analysis with primary source context. That’s operational excellence. This is not just a museum—it’s a knowledge partner. Perfect for business leaders seeking team-building rooted in legacy, educators sourcing authentic content, or families looking for meaningful civic engagement. Five golden stars for a center that manages to blend artifact stewardship with bold community vision. York County has done something truly scalable here.
Eddie F — Google review
Free admission day was fun. Tons of York manufacturing history, underground railroad, old farm equipment and factory machines. I really love the old car and the 2 story high Ice machine!! Touch screen video displays, flip cards and clear easy to read signage. We saw children enjoying the displays. My favorites are the black steam engine and the real Conestoga wagon.
Ttalany — Google review
Nice place, i found out many interesting facts about York county and United Stated told by our guide, like HarleyDavidson company founded here or there was general Gates who tried to overthrow George Washington. The Golden plough tavern impressed me most, seemed like last few 18th century guests left it few days ago. I recommend this place for educational and entertaining purposes.
Andrey ( — Google review
Really interesting displays. Very clean and comfortable. Great staff.
Kathleen M — Google review
Stopped in as we passed through York. Simple but informative historic museum. They also preserved some colonial buildings down the street.
Mary W — Google review
This museum is small but definitely worth seeing. They have a good display of artifacts representing the area. There were a good number of places to sit as you navigate the museum. I have very limited mobility and it is important that museums consider that in their layout. They have an elevator to get to each floor. One area that I was disappointed was with the gift shop. It was very small and had little variety. One thing to keep in mind is that they still require you to wear a mask when visiting.

The William C. Goodridge Freedom Center and Underground Railroad Museum offers a transformative experience, providing insight into the life of African-American businessman and abolitionist William C. Goodridge in his former home. Visitors are deeply moved by the exhibits, including an underground hiding place that saved enslaved ancestors, making it a must-see destination in York, PA. The museum also features a festival of trees and a new life-size statue of William Goodridge, offering an educational and informative experience for all visitors.
Growing up with curious parents, I have experienced many, many museums. The William C. Goodridge Freedom Center is so much more. When I reserved our tour, Mr. Summerford offered the assurance that our experience would be transformative. He did not exaggerate or disappoint. A week later, our visit continues to resonate with me. Mr. Summerford and Alison created a deeply meaningful and life changing experience. If the need to plan ahead and reserve a tour causes you to hesitate, please do it. With a little advance planning, you will understand why reservations are needed. Mr. Summerford gives his heart and soul to educate and transform visitors. This is a York must.

Very interesting... Amazing to say that's the way it was..
Jason G — Google review
Two times friends and I have gone there for special exhibits and the place is locked and lifeless during the hours it is to be open. Why did I give this place 3 stars? It's because it was actually open another time I went there.
William J — Google review
Proud to live near this historic home and grateful for the sacrifices made by the Goodridge family towards the emancipation of slaves. How noble a cause. May we never forget.
Rabiya K — Google review
Throughly enjoyed my visit! Especially the underground hiding place which saved my enslaved ancestors. Sad, uplifting and demands reflection. Must see during a visit to York, PA.

The Fire Museum of York County Inc is a unique museum housed in a 1903 firehouse, showcasing vintage engines and an array of firefighting-related artifacts. It offers an intriguing look into the history of firefighting, shedding light on this often underappreciated service. Visitors can explore the evolution of trucks and equipment over the years, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in the subject.
Awesome museum showing the history of the fire fighters of York, PA. A must if you are in the area on a Saturday.

Nature & Parks
Rocky Ridge Park is a forested recreational area that boasts of numerous multi-purpose trails, along with amenities like a softball field and playground. Apart from being an excellent summer retreat, it also serves as an ideal destination for the winter season. Its Christmas light display is particularly noteworthy, featuring lights of different kinds acquired over several years- bigger and smaller incandescent light strings, as well as LED lights.
We had a graduation party here for my niece, it was a very nice location. Nice private pavilions, all accomodations within short distance. And there was a playground connected to each pavilion. I would recommend this for anyone looking to have a party or get together.
Pipy B — Google review
Awesome area for some light trekking, and rock scrambling. Trails are suitable for all skill levels. Parking is easy and trails are well marked.
Mike H — Google review
Rocky Ridge is a great spot for taking the dogs on lots of trails. The park is very clean and trails are clearly marked. the best time of day to attend is definitely around sunset.
Brittany D — Google review
This is a beautiful and peaceful park to spend a day or some hours. It is clean, safe, and calm. You will find here plenty of benches, pick nick tables, several kids’ playgrounds, a public restroom. Two overview decks open in front of your eyes beautiful views of the surroundings. If you are lucky, while strolling in the park, you might see rabbits, squirrels and hear a lot of birdies. The place was not crowded, however, I visited on Tuesday afternoon. Several large parkings are available in the area. I met some couples, parents with kids, dog owners and single hikers. I followed the “white” path, which went through the forest, it took me around an hour. The path was clean and not very steep, suitable for beginners. You find the map of the paths on the park’s website. Overall, this is a beautiful place if you want to do physical activity in nature or generally rest from city noises, people, cars, etc., however, if you are a tourist and seeking something spectacular, may be you should pick another place.
Veronika — Google review
Only been here once or twice in the summer. Winter, they have a great Christmas light display and activity. The lights were fun because you can tell that they have been acquired over the decades. Bigger incandescent light strings, smaller incandescent light string, LED lights . . . Pavilions have a fire places going to warm up by, coco, trains. Easy walking, not sure about wheelchair accessibility but it might be a go. Park Rangers are around to help if needed, pleasant and knowledgable.
Phil H — Google review
This was a great Park. I enjoyed all of the hiking trails that I went on (Red, White and Teal Rectangle trails). The Mountain Laurels along the trails were in bloom which was nice. The views from the Observation Decks near the Powerline towers were also great.

100 stars so much fun and super easy to access. While it's not required I would recommend buying your tickets ahead of time so it's faster. They have food and beverages available, so bring your wallet/phone. Super nice people. Very funny workers. Definitely coming again next year. ( we went on the last day available so there wasn't as much snow as there would be during peak times or after/ during snow)
Arrow L — Google review
We took a family outing to AvalancheXpress a couple weeks ago on a Saturday morning. We have come here in the past and had a great time, but it seems like this place has gone downhill fast (no pun intended). Let's start with the ticketing process. Our kids had received AvalancheXpress gift cards for Christmas. Although they want you to reserve a spot online, the website does not accept their gift cards. If you want to ensure there's a balance on the gift card, don't try to use the website listed on the back of the card - you'll just get an error page. They also had no way to use the promotional tickets my kids had earned through their school reading program on the website. All this being the case, we had to just show up and hope for the best. When you finish up at the ticket counter, you're timed entry will round down to the previous hour, so don't take too long. Once you accomplish the task of purchasing your entry tickets, the first thing you'll notice is a large combined mound of inflated tubes, deflated tubes, mud-covered tubes, tubes filled with solid blocks of ice, etc. There is no signage to tell you whether you should grab a tube before entering the line and no one directing you what to do. Once you figure out where to actually enter the line (no signage for that either) you'll find yourself in a mix of people with and without tubes because no one knows what to do. While you wait, you can occupy yourself by observing the wide variety of trash all over the place - golf balls, deflated tubes, literal garbage, broken fence posts. Being this is marketed as a "resort", it looks a little more like a garbage dump. The lines were super slow moving - the employees didn't seem like they had been fully trained or really knew what was going on. They have a walking path if you want to skip the lift, however they told us we would still need to wait in the line, so what's the point? Eventually one of the metal gates fell over and people were skipping the line in favor of walking anyway, which was also frustrating since we were told we couldn't do this. So I guess as long as you don't ask, it's all good? When all was said and done, we were able to actually go down the hill about 4-5 times in our two hour block of time. Between the painful ticket purchasing experience, long lines, lack of direction, and trash everywhere, it's pretty hard to justify this for a family outing at $40 a ticket. This place could be great, but they need to do better.
Will G — Google review
Very nice place to go tubing after a snow fall had a great time! Have food truck, heated restrooms, fires, as well as pavilions with chairs and tables. All works are very polite and helpful! They as well have tubing lift to take you up so you don’t have to walk up the hill!
Lena D — Google review
Went today with my family from out of town and didn’t have a great experience. For $45 a person, it’s way more worth it to travel the extra 20 minutes to RoundTop. There were only three functioning tubing lanes and the snow was dirty. Many people were even getting stuck mid-way down the lanes. We got to tube 4x in 1.5 hours. When we arrived, I asked if there was some sort of discount for the poor conditions. They advised me that if we were unhappy with the conditions we could leave and come back on another day, which wasn’t an option as my family doesn’t live here . They said they couldn’t close today because they were “sold out.” In short, expensive, poor conditions, and not great customer service. Attached are photos from today.
Kate S — Google review
Horrible experience. $45 a person for what I call a joke. Not only is it nothing like the website pictures describe, it's also dangerous and in a disheveled condition. I went down once and didn't go again. My children, being children continued to take trips down. My daughter came close to severely injuring herself in the unsafe conditions. That was the final trip down for them. We drove 2 hours, spent almost $300 and it was awful. Do yourself a favor if you're looking to travel. Go somewhere else! Massanutten I can personally attest to. Amazing in comparison. Pictures below for reference. Clearly it's nothing like they advertise. Do better Avalanche!
Heather H — Google review
We will never go there again. Trash cans overflowing so much that trash was littered all over the ground everywhere you looked. Broken pipes, broken and fallen signs. So poorly maintained and managed. Staff were incredibly rude and looks miserable. The whole flow of the tubing was so poorly executed. It was absolutely disgusting. Never again.
Katie S — Google review
Fun place to visit, you get 3hrs. The lift takes both you and the tube uphill so it's pretty cool. There are picnic tables and fire pits in front for spectators to relax and watch. We went on a warm day and the lines were still decent. Plenty of helpful staff. Is located right on the town near a hotel in a populated area
Zumbagirl 9 — Google review
A nice getaway place to enjoy some snow tubing and ice skating. The place has a good dine in spot and the surroundings are pretty beautiful. Enjoyed the snow tubing thoroughly. The ice skating rink was not that good though, especially for beginners like me. I found it pretty hard to get going. There were fireplaces to warm ourselves up outdoors. Enjoyed the trip whatsoever.

Nixon Park Nature Center is a 14,000-square-foot facility located within 187 acres of diverse natural habitats. Established in 1978, the center features interactive exhibits such as a working honey bee hive and an amphibians of Pennsylvania display. In 1992, it expanded to include a global collection of specimens donated by William Koller. Visitors can explore various trails, including stroller-friendly paved paths and more challenging routes like the geology trail.
What a great place to visit. It has displays that cater to children and families, but offer items of I terest to everyone. It is a great place for borders, both inside and outside. There are trails, great Accessibility inside the building, and n it appears to have special events, classes, and kids camps at times.

We love coming to the nature center. This summer’s weekly creature drop in event was awesome! My son loves coming here and it’s truly our home away from home at this point… we’re there all the time! Whether it’s checking out the animals, saying hi to the turtles on the logs, or playing in the stream… we always have a great time at Nixon Park! The staff is awesome. The volunteers working this summer at the weekly event were so informative, kind & engaging with us!

While currently closed, the Nature center is an amazing place to visit for adults and children. It has animal displays and education, a play area, a bird watching area, and loads of information on the habitats that surround it. There are also beautiful hiking trails suitable for all ages. I believe they do not allow pets, but all humans are welcome.

I love visiting here with my toddler, and he loves it just as much. The museum is not so big it's overwhelming, with just enough for him to touch that he's satisfied. The trails are well maintained, as is the play area with the creek. Every time I've gone I've absolutely loved going and find something new.

Amazing indoor exhibit with many different species on display! So much to see inside before venturing out into the surrounding forest. Great hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty. I'm sure it would be even more beautiful when everything is in bloom. A must see in central PA!
Andy G — Google review
I came across this place on Google. I saw a lot of wonderful reviews already, and they hardly do justice. This discovery center is two stories of lots of interactive things for children to see and touch. Then they have a map that showed maybe 10 different trails to take including a fully paved one that is very easy for strollers. If you're adventurous like we were, you can take off on the geology Trail at the end of the paved trail. It's a little trying, but we made it through with a tiny little stroller. An off-road jogging stroller would have been preferable, but it might be a little wide for some of the areas. Is a nice mostly smooth but semi bumpy from the roots and rocks.

It's always and amazingly beautiful time at Nixon Park! My kids absolutely love it there is so many things to see and do not only inside but out! It is a perfect family day outing! There are so many trails to explore you won't be sorry!

This park has lots of paved trails and more. It also includes a dog park for your four legged family members. The park is equipped with restrooms and pavilions which can be rented for private parties. They have several playground areas for the children as well. Take a lunch and spend some time here with your family or alone. Either way you will enjoy this park.

Good place to walk dog on hot day. Lots of trees and shade. Only concern is parking. Only available parking is on property with several ball fields. Posted signs say cars will be towed if you are not there for an event or activity to do with baseball fields.

Bike ride through there and then down to route 30 in York. Decent variation in scenery and some hills. Park is really nice and well maintained. Have also taken my dog to the dog park which was very nice, and had a birthday party for one of my kids there in the past. Lots to do.

Nestled just outside Wrightsville, PA, Samuel S. Lewis State Park is a hidden gem that offers an array of outdoor activities amidst its stunning landscapes. Dominated by the impressive 885-foot Mt. Pisgah, this park provides breathtaking views of the Susquehanna River and surrounding valleys from its scenic overlook. Spanning 85 acres, visitors can explore diverse terrains ranging from grassy fields to wooded areas and pine plantations.
Great views at this lovely park on a hill near the Susquehanna River. Played a nice 9-hole course that was very challenging but fun to hike through the woods. There were lots of deer watching our play-through, I think they wanted to play too. Watched a nice sunset go over the Pennsylvania hills as I drove out of the park.

Such a clean, beautiful park with open space and incredible views. Great little trails throughout the woods, playground, plenty of spots to have a picnic, and a cool boulder pile for kiddos to explore.

This has been one of my two favorite local parks for decades! I have taken senior pictures, prom pictures and hundreds of nature pictures here for years! There are pavilions, play areas, picnic tables, trails to walk (both easy and hard), a baseball diamond an open field to play football, or other sports and my and my kids and grandkids personal favorite- rocks to climb on!!!
Zenon J — Google review
Lovely spot to stop with an elevated view of the river, and great picnic benches in the trees for listening to the birds. 15 species of birds observed in 45 minutes, and a cool little American toad. Stop by during the day to enjoy the nature center with all the hand made exhibits and sweet magnifying glass viewers of some resident insects.

I found this cool museum from a YouTuber I watch and I am so glad I did. This place is so cool and has a ton of history in those walls with even more stuff that needs to be put on display. I’m not into weightlifting or bodybuilding but I enjoyed my time here. It’s so cool to see the history of it and how it was in the Olympics. The staff was very nice and it’s free!

It was very informative and interesting. Definitely recommend. Matt was an excellent guide, who was very knowledgeable and passionate. We were also impressed by him being able to rip a deck of cards.

I'm a huge fitness buff and HAD to come here. Was visiting from out of town and always wanted to come, so came with my Father in law. Really cool museum-type place. Picked up some York deep dish plates for a souvenir. If you're into fitness, this is definitely a must stop if you're in the area.

Great visit. Knowing the history of Bob Hoffman and the York Barbell Company, this place brings it alive. Very helpful staff also. Check it out if you can. You won't be disappointed! Dan.

What a fun Hall of Fame museum to visit! I had no idea of the history behind bar bells! The installations are cool and the store is bright with many options. The weights are affordable. The sign on the highway is too fun! We enjoyed the museum and its history.
Lori G — Google review
I’ve driven past the Weightlifting Hall of Fame for many years and was curious about it. It’s easy to find being almost directly off of Interstate 83. Several parking spots are located around the building, with the main entrance being located in the York Barbell Store. The building is multipurpose which was unexpected, as it houses the Hall of Fame, museum, store, York’s offices, employee gym, and auditorium. There is no admission fee, but they ask you to sign the guest book, and an informational pamphlet is available. The Hall of Fame focuses primarily on Weightlifting and Bob Hoffman (owner of York Barbell). The first major problem you’ll find is while nice and reasonably well organized, almost everything is out of date by at least twenty years. It appears that most exhibits were not updated after York Barbell started having financial issues. They are asking for donations in order to update the exhibits. If you find the history of Weightlifting interesting, the exhibits are informative. The Bob Hoffman exhibits are not the most interesting. The lobby area in the middle of the building has a few display and art pieces. A few newer exhibit pieces and donations can be found, but they are far and few between, and sometimes not as well organized. The tour could take only 20-30 minutes depending on how interesting you find things. Overall, this will not be a worthwhile stop for most people, and I would not go out of my way to visit here. If you love weightlifting and weightlifting history, it’s probably worth a stop. I hope they can put some resources into updating the exhibits to provide a better experience.
Eric W — Google review
As a weightlifter, I checked a box off my lifting list. There is so much history and perspective about strength athletics that I could not believe it. I loved every second, and York Barbell did a great job with showing old-time strength training to Olympic Weightlifting This is a must see!!!!!.

The John C. Rudy County Park offers a vast and beautiful space for dogs to run and play, complete with separate areas based on the size of the dogs. The park also features a playground, numerous trails, and even a creek. While there may be some inconveniences such as an inaccessible dumpster or closed sections of the rail trail due to liability concerns, these are small quibbles in comparison to the overall enjoyable experience offered at this impressive dog park.
This park is a hidden treasure. Has wonderful trails to walk/run. It's massive, has at least that I know of, 2 completely different entrances. I found that out by going to the Holiday Light Show. It was very dark & not a soul in sight. Thank goodness I decided to re-route and go back to a different starting point because I found the correct entrance, but the light show was incredible! The workers really turned the place into a magical adventure. My doggies and so many others loved it! The park is very dog friendly too!! I'm so glad we found this park.

Jon Rudy Park is one of very few parks that are available for dogs in the area. There are two main areas for the dogs that are separated by how big your dog is one field for small dogs and one field for larger dogs. There are so much space for your dog to run and explore the only bad part is there are no trash cans close to the dog fields.
Brittany D — Google review
Very nice park and parking at the northern Trailhead for the Heritage County Rail Trail. I still think of it as the York Heritage Rail Trail. Little hard to get to from I-83 with all the industry and warehouses. A lot of truck traffic
Dennis C — Google review
For a little over a mile walk around the paved trail, you get two nice (for parks) bathroom stops, barked at by the puppies at the puppy park, chattered at by squirrels, and can visit people playing at the playground, horseshoe pits, soccer fields, cooking at the pavilions, and so much more. A great place for a lazy walk at any part of the day. Oh, amd the free book library usually has some good gets.
Anthony B — Google review
Two separate fully fenced dog parks; one for smaller dogs; one for larger dogs. Off leash, free run dog park featuring trees, large rock clusters and seating. Water fountains turned on during warmer weather. All dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. Great dog park….on Saturday mornings I’ve seen 20+ dogs there.
Annette — Google review
Great park for walking. There are plenty of play areas if you have young kids. The off-leash dog park is where we were today.
Aaron D — Google review
Beautiful park with lots of open space, trails, as well as a bunch of large dog parks. This park is pretty much the end of the York heritage rail trail and worth the trip up. The trail is not closed north of 30, the rail bridge over a section says closed because debris can fall when a trail passes over, and its a way they’re covering liability.
The C — Google review
Beautiful park with amazing amenities. Unfortunately the bureaucrats who run it are disgusting. “Can’t bring kids to dog park without following government height rules and permission or we will fine you.” People who run it are gross and don’t understand the concept of liberty.

The Agricultural & Industrial Museum is a centrally located museum that showcases the manufacturing history of York. The historical collection is diverse and provides an impressive overview of the various industries that were active in the region. The interactive elements of the museum allow for a hands-on experience, including getting inside antique cars and touching artifacts. Although not too big, the museum offers enough diversity to learn about York's heritage, from antique cars to a grist mill.
4.5 stars! The staff was super nice. It was peaceful, clean and quiet. Not crowded at all. The exhibition is well organized, designed, maintained and educational. My 4 yo had so much fun milking the fake cow which kept him busy for a while! I wish they had more interactive stuff for kids to do. Highly recommended!

We had a great 100th Birthday Party at the museum. This is a great venue. We had Yorkers and out-of-town folks attending. It was amazing how many people from York did not even realize that this place existed and wanted to come back again to spend more time with the exhibits.

I came on a Wednesday afternoon and spent around 2 hours inside, I would actually spend more time but the museum closes at 4pm. I believe I was the only visitor :)) the location is quite central and convenient, I came by city bus. I truly enjoyed the place: the historical collection is not too big, but big and diverse enough to learn a lot about York. I especially liked the overview of the variety of industries that were active in York, the diversity is quite impressive. I also enjoyed interactive parts of the museum, where you could touch things, get inside cars, etc. Overall, I can absolutely recommend visiting the place, it is time well-spent.

My visit was very interesting. A trip to the past and a recognition of the great contributions that the city of York has made. You need between 2 and 3 hours to be able to appreciate the different exhibitions.
Monica C — Google review
This is an interesting museum, with a somewhat eclectic selection of items, grouped loosely together. The museum itself has quite a striking outside entrance area and although we visited when it was cold and raining, I could see it being an excellent place to hold social functions and gatherings. Inside you'll find what could be considered a transportation section with some classic cars, a small plane, a refurbished trolley car and a work train engine. Next is more of an agricultural/farming area with various implements and equipment, followed by printing, dental and other areas of industry that used to be dominant in the Lancaster/York area. Back upstairs there's a local industry section with many old lathes, drills and other assorted factory equipment, and across the way is the only disappointing part with the "giants of industry" which only has three things in it. Overall worth a stroll around, you can easily spend a couple of hours poking around looking at the wide variety of items on display. Recommended.

Cute little vintage theater! My daughter volunteered to do stage crew and we came to see "A Christmas Story". They have light refreshments out front (candy, crackers, water) Tickets were $30/each. Small parking lot to the side. The cast seems to have great chemistry and enjoys what they're doing!

Singers were talented and funny but profanity was unnecessary. Most offensive was portraying Jesus as gay which was not part of the musical but clearly added by director. Unfortunately, they failed to read their audience… most people did not find that part funny and were not clapping. It was clearly a slap in the face to anyone who believes in Jesus. I have been to multiple plays at Belmont with a group of friends… this is my last one.

We got to see Nemo Jr at the Belmont Theater and oh my goodness. We were blown away by the performance. My toddler sat through the entire musical, dancing, singing, and watching these kids put on one of the best performances I have seen in a long time. A special shout-out to Donovan who played Marlin, the sheer talent he has!! If you were thinking about going, go. Seriously. You won't regret it, it is such a family friendly atmosphere, everyone is so nice, they let you eat snacks in the theater, and just an overall incredible vibe. We will be back to watch many other shows!
Charissa S — Google review
I would have given it 5 stars no problem, but the bathroom facilities are not able to serve the crowd of people there attending a show. During intermission, the bathroom line was not possible to stand and wait IF you have a problem. When they called the Intermission , I exited the theater room as quickly as possible without pushing and shoving to make a break for the rest room. Came around the corner and seen the line. I was in the restroom before the show and seen only one stall. So when I can clearly see there’s a line outside of the bathroom I was out of options but to head for the Rutter’s around the corner. Got there, quickly took care of things and went back to the theater to try to catch the end of the program. It was quite the good production I will add (***** Stars for THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG performance that I did get to see). All of that racing to find the doors locked and nobody there to let me in with an explanation. So now, I sit here in my car waiting for the other 5 people I went here with to finish the show. At least there is one less person in line for the bathroom at the end of the night.
Steve K — Google review
It's a nice intimate community theater. I was a visitor from out of town, and saw the thriller Victoria's Room. A good pick for close to Halloween and quality performers. The only negative I have of it is, that the chairs to sit in are too easily movable if you need to lean on them to get to your seat, as they slide on the platform. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable evening.

William Kain Park is a picturesque outdoor space with scenic trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. It also offers two lakes where visitors can rent kayaks and enjoy the water. The park boasts several pavilions available for rent, making it an ideal location for family gatherings or work events. There is a boat ramp suitable for various types of boats, from inflatables to bassboats.
This is a beautiful park with a lot of options to enjoy. Wanna play? You have a beautiful playground. Wanna enjoy the scenery? Visit the lake and also you can see around. Wanna enjoy nature with exercise? There are different trails based on the difficulty level. You could walk or ride a bike. Wanna do a boat ride? It's a very good place for a boat ride and also they have boat rentals. But make sure if it is open. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery around the lake and we walked through one of the trails. It was good. In the trail there was a small tunnel. It was good to walk. The boat rental is currently closed. The restrooms are well maintained. The trail is near the highway so we cannot avoid vehicle sound. The rest is good.

A beautiful recreational park. A truly stunning view of Lake Codorus. Shimmering clear blue water, picnic tables, and plenty of fresh air and sunshine make this park a family favorite! 😎

Did the Lake Redman and Lake Williams loop, ended up being about 15 miles (we made a few wrong turns). Most of the trail is well maintained but there are some things to mention. The trail 7 area (Northeast side I believe) is very overgrown, so I would wear long pants and sleeves. I had some ticks on me after this hike even with that. There were some muddy parts on trail 2 around Lake Williams, not the worst I've seen but would still prepare for that. Lastly, the trail takes you through two drainage tunnels that go under I-83 on the Lake Redman side. The water can be deep in the tunnels so either prepare to get wet or wear water proof clothes. Other than that the good majority of the loop was well maintained and enjoyable.

StarMD — Google review
William H. Kain County Park offers some nice features. There’s spacious trailer parking available for those bringing in boats, although the spots are not pull-through and can be somewhat limited. The boat launch is average in size, and there’s also a kayak launch assist system available—great if you’d rather not get your feet wet or use the actual boat ramp. Boaters are EXTREMELY friendly and patient here when it comes to waiting their turn on the ramp or offering a lending hand. One of the standout features is the extremely clean, wheelchair-accessible bathroom located right next to the launch area, which is a major plus. If you don't own a kayak, there's a rental station conveniently located nearby. The park does have a few small launch sites convenient for kayakers, canoes, and SUP located around the park; however those launch areas have rather dense vegetation in the water you would need to get through. Conveniently these tiny launch sites do have their own parking lot but do not have trailer parking. The park grounds are free of trash, but one noticeable downside is the abundance of goose droppings on the grassy areas, which can be off-putting if you’re trying to relax by the water or have a picnic in the common areas. The common areas do have Pavilions with tables you can utilize if not being rented out. The park also offers a beachy section where people can fish from and picnic. The park also has convenient trails throughout. Noise here is one factor to consider. The proximity to the highway means you’re almost always within earshot of traffic, so it’s not the most peaceful experience. However, after a while, the highway noise becomes background noise that you can't notice. Great easy going people make this park an enjoyable place all around.

It’s a nice park with lots of different slides and of course swings and picnic tables love that it’s fenced in and has some of the rubber playground tiles. Please note the whole park isn’t made of the rubber tiles only about I would say 60% of it but it’s still nice to have. There’s indoor bathrooms and plenty of parking. I will say the only thing that makes me a little sad. Is they removed some of the play equipment? But maybe they plan on replacing it and putting new play equipment in idk 🤷‍♀️. Also, it does get extremely hot at this park. Especially in the summertime since there’s no shade

We went here for a play last week, entitled "A trip to the moon". It was a pretty adorable little play with maybe 10 different skits about different things that were happening in people's lives during the time of the moon landing in 1969 including, but not limited, to Woodstock, the Vietnam War, marriage proposals, and of course, the moon landing itself. All of the actors and actresses were quite talented, both young and older. As a bonus there was an art exhibition that could be viewed during intermission. My only regret was that that was not also available after the play because the intermission time wasn't quite enough time to get through it.

The Colonial Complex in York is a fascinating museum that offers tours of four distinct buildings, showcasing the public and private life during the 18th century. This historical gem in York is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, featuring an annual event called Colonial Day held every July. This free event allows visitors to immerse themselves in the rich history of the colonial era through interactive demonstrations conducted by knowledgeable individuals dressed in period attire.
Signed up for the tour and it was just us so it was fun to have all the attention of an expert to be able to ask our random questions. Thank you Amy! It was really fun. I also really enjoyed the museum, we were some of the only people. I hope more people stop by the museum. It was only $20 for the day and it is a good cause. I grew up in York and have been feeling nostalgic and curious about my ancestry so I had a good time learning about the area. I had been on field trips as a kid but it was cool to see as an adult. For lunch, we walked a block down to the Central Market House, which has so many great shops and things to eat, we got hot dogs!

I love history so this was a great place for me to visit. It does cost to tour the buildings and tours do have to pay to park anywhere in the city so be prepared for all of that. Theres also a 2 hour limit for parking on the streets in front of the complex and the lot beside the ticket booth is permit only so I'm not sure where the ideal spot would be. (There are garages if one is up for a walk but since we are in the middle of a heatwave, I chose to street park and ended up rushing around to be sure I was back to the car before my two hours were up.) The complex and staff are great though and it was good to see where some revolutionary war history happened.

This tour has the charm of Historic Philadelphia and Colonial Williamsburg wrapped up in a convenient little package! We spent just about 90 minutes (no demonstrations that day) but got oh so much out of it. The side by side comparison of the period wealthy and laborer homes was extremely eye-opening. The original building structure and materials along with the incredible number of authentic artifacts was fascinating, even if some of the artifacts were more like assorted collection pieces. It is not set up in a way where someone can simply walk through by themselves and really grasp the archaeological or historical significance without a tour guide, but our guide Valerie was an absolute fount of knowledge and enjoyable company. Regarding children, I would say without the demonstrations, the tour is probably best for precocious 10 year-olds or more likely teens and older. The website for all the York history sites is a little hard to navigate, but I'm so glad we did!!

I stopped in here with my boys during a break in a hockey tournament. I was blown away by the efforts to restore and maintain these historic resources. Our tour guide John was friendly and highly knowledgeable. He managed to engage my two boys, ages 10 and 8, by quizzing them on their history knowledge and having them guess what each colonial artifact was. The tour said 1 hour but we ended up spending 2 and we loved it!! Highly recommend. What a gem!!

Awesome history in York. Be sure to check out Colonial Day each year in July. This a free event. Knowledgeable people dressed in historical attire showing off demos of many different things including blacksmithing, woodworking, tanning hides/making leather and clothing, historical childrens games, and mortar firings. There are Native Americans speaking about their culture and life in the colonial days in York and yhe surrounding regions. Horse drawn wagon rides, free tours of the colonial buildings, and they sell historical food as well as a Bricker's food truck. In the historical courthouse they have whisky tastings. Fun for the whole family.

My son and I visited today for a guided tour of the complex. It was fantastic! Our tour guide John was really knowledgeable and brought in personal contexts to the stories he was telling to make things more relatable. We highly recommend this stop for history lovers!

We were in town for a travel hockey game and had time to kill. I was excited to see York given its rich history. The immediate surrounding city is very dilapidated and the area around the Colonial Complex was sketchy. The museum was closed so we couldn't go in and there wasn't much to see outside. We were there about 5 minutes. I was expecting a larger monument/tribute to the history of the city and a nicer area in general. We ate lunch inside the market which was very nice.

The Handsome Cab is a trendy addition to York, offering a vibrant urban-chic experience with its blend of food, drinks, music, and local art. The menu features an array of New American plates such as cheeses, skewers, flatbreads, and delectable bites like Argentinean turkey meatballs with chimichurri. With an extensive selection of well-researched and affordable wines by the bottle or glass, it's a great spot for wine enthusiasts.
Our first time visiting this establishment and we could not have been more impressed! The service was welcoming and excellent. The small plates were not very small and were absolutely delicious! The chef clearly knows how to make dishes taste savory. The beer and wine selection is top notch and our waiter was well educated. There is a piano in the main dining area, though it was not being played during our visit, the vibe of the restaurant conveys it would be an amazing piano bar experience. Oh, did I mention the food was fantastic? There is a bar and lounge upstairs that offers a small and relaxing getaway from the main area on the first floor. Will go back often!

Very satisfied with our food and the ambience. With the coconut curry chicken I ordered I can say that it's the first time in a long while that I've tasted something uniquely new. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the drink and food selections and was very professional. Would definitely return. Loved the cloth towels in the bathrooms.

I don’t know where to start. We went here today for my boyfriend’s birthday. Everyone was so kind and made us feel extremely special. Phil our waiter is amazing 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. If you get Phil, you are lucky he is incredible. The owner was so sweet, Robert, And I’m just so incredibly thankful that we went there. We will be back!!!!!

100% worth the drive! The food is amazing, a wine list that goes on and on, the atmosphere is perfect and the service was top notch! We had an incredible meal and were able to support local artists while we waited for our food, while enjoying a fabulous bottle of wine. I will definitely return. This was not just dinner out, it was an experience. Love!

My friends and I went here at 8:30pm on Friday night for drinks. The restaurant is open until midnight. The restaurant was half-empty, but the bar was full, so we wanted to sit on the patio. Instead, we stood at the host station for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Servers ran around, bartenders stood behind the bar. We walked around multiple times to show we were there, and people saw us- but no one bothered to speak to us ore even make eye contact. Finally I stopped a server myself and asked if anyone was seating. He was clearly annoyed and said someone would be with us. Finally, another server came from the back and took us to the patio. Was it really that hard?? The restaurant was nearly empty!! Two stars because the drinks were decent, but staff was incredibly rude.
Sarah G — Google review
First off I want to start off my saying that I frequent this establishment often. Usually the drinks are spot on. Its one of the reasons I like coming here. Tonight was a different story. The new female bartender I don't think has any idea what she is doing or she needs more training. 2 different round of drinks my friend and I ordered were wrong. The other female bartender that has been working here for awhile fixed them for us. I dont think I will be ordering any drinks from the new girl until she can make some improvement. The consistency or the following of a recipe just was not there tonight.

We have great food and drinks here regularly. Steven, Seth, Savannah, McKenzie, JJ, Dave are thoughtful food and drink preparers with friendly and efficient service. A pleasure to have this in our community!
Dru P — Google review
Our first, and only, experience with The Handsome Cab was unfortunately a poor one. While our server was top notch and attentive, we waited almost a full 45 minutes for our meals. We started with a small plate appetizer which was delicious, but the experience bottomed out from there. After a long wait for our main course food, when it arrived the Chicken Sandwich was far too overcooked, burnt brown and dry as hay... and the "smash burger" was two little burnt hockey puck sized burgers that were passed, not smashed. To exasperate the situation, the manager then had the nerve to argue with my date and I about the meals. The only positive from our experience was the comped appetizer, as we were certainly not waiting an additional 45 minutes for new food, nor were we paying for two poorly made meals with knock off Checker's fries.

My favorite art gallery in downtown york! Always a great display, with a variety of artists and media’s. I’ve gotten many gifts for others here and for myself! You will most likely leave with something if you go in. Susan usually has her pet turtle in with her too! Too cute!

Went to the Hive on a recent First Friday in York, and it was very cool place. They had someone from Springhouse Brewing there giving out beer samples of some very unique flavors, and they were displaying several local artists. We made it upstairs where one of the artists has her studio/gallery, and enjoyed seeing her art and talking about the Royal Square re-development going on in the area. It was very busy, which was wonderful to see. We'll definitely be back again to see more displays of local artists.

We are new to the area and found this lovely place through the Explore York county ( Good Libations trail) App and I’m glad we did. We both did a tasting ( one half off through the App) each was 7 one ounce pours of our choice and we settled on a bottle of their Alborino to enjoy outside on their grounds. The house and grounds are beautiful and the woman who did our tasting was delightful and knowledgeable in each wine. What a pleasant way to spend part of a Sunday afternoon and about 10 min from home. We will be back

I waited with anticipation to finally make it to this winery. My biggest mistake was arriving on a sunny Mother’s Day afternoon. Talk about needing to learn a thing or two on how to run a popular business more efficiently. We wanted to sit out and enjoy the musician they had, but I waited in line close to 40 minutes in the sun for a SLIGHTLY CHILLED bottle of Riesling, while my husband sat alone. Longest wait in my experience and I’ve visited approximately 50 wineries/vineyards. They set a bar for orders outside, but they were going inside to get the slushies, and you could order flights AND food all in the same line. Folks around me were complaining about the same issue. Inside the line was slower from what we were told by other patrons. Crazy thing is if you look at my photo, grounds allow for a much larger crowd. Best part for us was our dog was allowed outside. I don’t think we’ll be returning until they figure things out.
Zoraida K — Google review
Beautiful property with good wines. We visited early Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of parking with only a few people outside and the outdoor bar was closed. However, much of the indoor seating was full and the two small tasting areas were overwhelmed. We waited in line for our turn, 10 to 15 minutes. No problem. We ordered two tastings and a charcuterie box. We were told the charcuterie box was being prepared and would be out shortly. As our tasting began, with first bottle of wine, our server read the name, showed us the label, and poured. There was no description, varietal information, nothing whatsoever. After the wine was poured, she proceeded to tap her fingernails on the counter and scan her phone, glancing up at us until we had finished. This continued through all seven selections. It certainly did not allow for the enjoyment of the wine as we were hurried through each pour. The charcuterie box arrived near the end, which is a good thing as we certainly would have had no time for consumption during the tasting. We have visited many wineries both locally and out of state and had high hopes for our visit to Lavender Acres. Unfortunately, this visit for a special occasion surely fell short and our experience was a rushed and disappointing one.

Park
Penn Park is a versatile venue that offers basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a seasonal splash park. The park also holds historical significance as it was the site of the former Hannah Penn Junior High. It features three playscapes catering to different abilities and ages, with the largest being over 3 stories tall. Despite some broken climbing structures and inappropriate graffiti, there are plenty of other options for recreation.
Get there early, a lot of teenagers how out frequently so it's difficult to get pristine photos if that's what you're there for.
Howard N — Google review
I loved seeing a lot of members of the community out playing basketball, soccer, and just being outside. However, 3 kids on dirt bikes were biking around, doing wheelies and donuts in the grass. It was dope to see the wheelies but then 4 cop cars showed up and there was a lot of commotion going on. They started talking to everyone playing basketball. It was just weird. Still walked through the park and had a nice time though.

The new pickleball courts are beautiful and a very nice surface. I didn't understand the direction the bench was facing and not being able to watch play comfortably. Also early morning play is difficult because the sun is directly in the face of opposing team.

Nice, open. Near crop field and nice neighborhood. There is a little creek with a small bridge nearby. Has a good walk around, gets really busy when school/parents let out around 5ish. Because of the neighborhood near by a lot of the older kids walk to the park after school and are kinda obnoxious and we avoid that park after 5 on a weekday.

I rented the building here for a babyshower. Locations was great. It had a park for the children to play at. The only things I had issues with about the building was that they were low on cleaning products like mopping solution. I had to purchase trash bags to bring and i had to bring disinfecting wipes to clean the bathrooms with. Bathrooms also had no trash bags for them. Had to bring those and there's no air conditioning system in the building. I had to bring 2 fans. It does get very warm in june. Overall, it was ok. I'd just recommend if anyone reserves this for an event, make sure you call and ask these items are provided beforehand.

Pros: * Pool, & gym * fitness classes * swimming lessons & open swim * kids summer camps discovery & J camp specialty camps * Miss Warkenda, Holly & Braxton are great with the kids & offer great programs too throughout the year * SEY program (preschool) is phenomenal especially the caring, wonderful teachers my kiddo had. Miss Diane & Miss Amy really prepared my kiddo for Kindergarten & beyond. We ❤️ & will miss them next year. Now the Cons: Reason for 3 star review. * My main gripe with the JCC & why I'm giving them 3 stars is bc they need better procedures/protocols/communication/staff training put in place for the 1 hr summer camps in the gym in regards to pick up & drop off & in general in regards to child safety, elopement. They should be emailing each family before camp to touch base with them in regards to said protocols. Each child & parent should be checked in & checked out on a clipboard etc. If families have any questions for JCC staff that are pressing & time sensitive they should wait until all children are picked up 1st before approaching staff to avoid distracting staff. If questions can wait & aren't urgent that emailing is preferable. The end of camp is not the time to be having conversations that can cause distractions & prevent staff from properly doing their jobs. THE CHILDREN SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST!!!! ALWAYS. No exceptions. CHILD SAFETY SHOULD HAVE BEEN PARAMOUNT FROM THE GET GO! If they had stricter polices, & protocols put in place my kid would have never made it out of the gym. I wasn't late for pick up & showed up when camp was supposed to end only to find him missing, jcc staff confused & lacking an apology or explanation bc they never noticed he was missing in the 1st place, & finding out on my own that they ended camp early without notifying parents. Apology & explanation came the next day though. Apparently "lack of sleep (3 hrs) & parents distracting staff" as the reason this happend. How does a 3 year old make it past 1 staff member let alone 6 & end up in the parking lot without someone noticing? This should have never happend. 3 gym staff/3 front desk staff. He could have gotten hit by a car. Disclaimer: This incident happend 3 years ago & was not recent. The JCC has since updated their security system & I'm hoping they made improvements to keep kids safer. I'm not sure what improvements they've made but... it goes without saying that it seems to me that the JCC needs to focus on more staff training, having stricter protocols put in place.

I really appreciate the range of services and facilities at JCC York. The babysitting option and extended hours are incredibly helpful for families like ours. Their gym is well-equipped and convenient, and we especially enjoy using the swimming pool during the open hours on weekends—it’s a great way to spend family time. The café is a nice bonus; it’s a comfortable spot where I can even get some work done when needed. One of the biggest reasons we love JCC is their daycare facility. My daughter is currently on the waitlist, and we’re eagerly looking forward to her admission. From what we’ve seen, they offer a variety of enriching activities for children aged 3 and up, which makes us even more excited for her to join. Overall, JCC York has created a welcoming environment that supports both parents and kids with thoughtful amenities and programs.
Adithya R — Google review
Well, it's been 12 years since the JCC took out a no trespass order against me. My only 'crime' was to witness, over the course of one year, more than half a dozen instances where staff of the JCC daycare mistreated, both physically and verbally, young children under their care. My mistake was in trusting the then director, Randy Freeman, to do the right thing. What I should have done was to call Childline and let them handle it. Randy found none of emails of complaint valid, even relating to instances of mistreatment where I had other witnesses. The JCC was going through renovations as the time and they didn't want anything to jeopardize them, so they made up some nonsense about me. I'm not perfect; however, I stand behind my words and actions always. I recently thought about requesting the JCC remove the trespass order so I can go back. I need the pool like I need oxygen. However, after perusing pictures of the staff and the board, I decided I didn't wish to ever see these people again. 'Everyone is welcome'. Yea, except the righteous Jewish disabled war veteran. What a bunch of hypocrites. I'm a former police officer in the Israel National Police Force.

I very much enjoyed visiting the farm with my husband, daughter, and my grandkids. I so appreciated Carrie telling how she came to be the owner of such an operation by divine providence! She also taught us about alpaca fur, and offered very interesting and entertaining insights into the general mature of alpacas, as well as the varying personalities and character of the ones with whom we interacted that day! Carrie was thorough in explanation of how to interact with the alpacas, and no one got spat on or kicked! We got to feed them, have pictures taken with one of the more photogenic ones (lol!), and some of us held a 4 week old baby. Carrie was so relatable and super sweet, and even prayed with me at the end of the tour. I can't speak to other's experiences, but I felt like one of her family! My grandson, almost 4, was a little intimidated when the alpacas surrounded him, but mostly looked as if he were enjoying his time and the novelty of interacting with these larger (mostly) gentle animals.

A hidden gem in York county. We enjoyed the tour and feeding the alpacas. We left for lunch and came back for the reading and art with the alpacas. We sat in the shade and had time to just relax while the alpacas roamed about their pen. It was awesome and such a unique experience. We will definitely be back!

Just went here today for the first time. It is a very cool gallery! Lots of local talent supported and displayed, old restored building, easy garage parking next door. Definitely will return for other exhibits!

Lots of artwork, in a variety of mediums, all throughout the building! We stopped in on "first Friday" and it was neat to see the additional display on the 3rd floor that evening!

Great equipment, safe location. Pavilion provides shelter when needed/desired. Also has a baseball field, basketball court, and creek. I didn't check to see if they still had the bathrooms open. Charcoal grills available.

This is a nice spot for a short walk with my dog when I need to work at my part-time time job and time is at a premium. There is on street parking and lots of green grass and some shady spots with benches..I have stopped on several occasions and few other folks were present. You are only a block away from Stauffers' Biscuit and can stop and get some of those delicious smelling cookie at the outlet.

Nice place, playground equipment, small creek near by, pleasant for dipping in toes.

The kids have a good time as plenty of places to play and playgrounds setups which make it very nice. In the evening so we can get a little rough so crowded kind of changes and we're used to it so we know how to step aside and let the other bigger kids come in and do their thing too. Usually that helps with keeping everything quiet and calm. Thank you

We were out of town on a quick road trip. Needed a place to eat takeout lunch. The one picnic table was empty, and the park is well kept. Grass was cut and no trash in sight. Found the park via Google search.

Art gallery
The York Art Association Inc, York Pa. has been offering art classes and workshops since 1998, providing a fun and relaxed environment with friendly classmates and exceptional instructors. They offer a wide variety of mediums and styles of painting at reasonable prices. The association also hosts art exhibits where most pieces are available for purchase, supporting local artists. It's highly recommended for both beginners and experienced artists looking to improve their skills in an encouraging setting. Additionally, they offer homeschool classes that are popular among kids.
Confused? Zoom class was to be for immediate students. The same picture was used for beginner's class. Deb is a good teacher. Iwas hoping for some harder pictures. Will try a different teacher. I did learn a few things. Always nice to have Deb Watson as the teacher.

The mission is great, the execution leaves something to be desired. Poor communication amongst the staff, you’ll be told something only to find out that wasn’t communicated to others. They also ripped one of my paintings then called me to tell me they just didn’t know how that happened. Overall, poorly run, and insular. A terrible experience.
Bryan R — Google review
I have never been there. But the place intrigues me. I hope to get there some day when a open house. I appreciate local artist and their work.

I’ve taken classes and workshops since 1998. As a member I’ve served on the board, several committees and special events. It’s a fun and relaxed place with friendly helpful classmates and exceptional instructors. They offer many different mediums and styles of painting. The best selection for the most reasonable prices in the area. Highly recommend!

Creative York is a non-profit visual arts center situated in the historic downtown of York, PA. The center boasts two art galleries that exhibit works from local, regional, and national artists, showcasing innovative new talents and diverse art forms. Visitors can expect an inspiring experience with each visit as they explore experimental installations and a variety of artistic expressions.
I've been to the gallery portion of Creative York a few times on First Fridays, they have a great selection of local artists and always have new, interesting pieces rotating. Recently I did their Date Night Pottery Wheel Class with a group of girls. It was so fun! There's a learning curve to this but you will get the hang of it over the course of the two hours and be able to produce at least one piece of pottery! You can make however many pieces you want within within two hours, you just have to pay a small additional fee for any additional pottery you want them to fire and glaze (one piece of pottery is included with the class). I would absolutely do this again and will check out the other art classes they offer.
Rachel S — Google review
First time tried hands at pottery and it was amazing experience. Great idea for romantic gateway in the hub of York town. Accessible parking and restaurant options within a block. Must experience if you want to try your hands at different hobbies with your better half 😃

My daughter went to the 'Clothed Figure Drawing I & II' and the 'Colored Pencil Workshop' classes with instructor Leah Limpert Walt. The instructor is very well versed in her craft and gives good guidance with explanation. My daughter learned a lot in the classes here. The environment is comfortable, most classes provide you with all the art supplies needed, the people are friendly and organized. I would definitely recommend taking a class here.

A lovely place displaying the work of local artists and writers. Visit the courtyard out back if you get the chance! Prices are reasonable, selection covers several artistic tastes, and you'll support your local creators. And if you're an artist yourself, check it out! You rent display space at a low, monthly rate, and all proceeds go to the artists.

Westminster Park holds a special place in my heart as it brings back fond memories of my childhood neighborhood. This charming park is not just a green space; it's where I spent countless afternoons playing baseball with friends, laughing and creating lasting bonds.
