We went on fall harvest festival day. The experience was great. This winery is right in Hermann and it's easy to get to even though it's on a hill. The grounds are nice and very historic. We didn't visit all parts but we got a good feel for the place. The tasting room capacity is big and it's a great experience. They make a lot of wines so there are many to choose from. The store is huge. There are some wines you can only get at the store on the premesis. This was one of the best winery experiences I've had. Stone hill is a popular brand in the area. They have something for almost everyone.

Some of the better wine in Missouri. With the tasting, you get to keep the glass. Was very surprised how much we liked their wine. Came home with 6 bottles. Amazing view of Hermann from up there.

Nice place that is in a beautiful location on top of one of the many hills in Hermann. We went on the winery tour which we had been on before but it was years ago. The tour leader was personable and willing to answer any question, or even be patient when one person on our tour wanted to use this time as a personnel photo shoot, lol. The tour is about 30 minutes or so and was definitely well worth the cost.....which was free. Be sure to tip your guide : )

I tried a glass of the Hellbender wine at the hotel bar last night so decided I would do the tour and tasting today. Steve was an excellent guide both for my tour and tasting. The history of wine making in Missouri was interesting as well as seeing the incredible hand built stone cellars. I tried my six wines and every one of them was good. They seem to have something for every taste.

Be sure to take advantage of the free cellar tour. The guides provide a great history of the winery to help the visitor understand not just the wine-making process, but the town and the culture in which it exists. Their wine is very good and worth the stop.

We enjoyed the cellar tour and a tasting. Our tour guide, John, was top notch. It was really enjoyable to learn so much about Hermann wine history. The tasting was our favorite of the day with good insights, not rushed, and very tasty.

I stopped in just to have a look around and wound up having a very interesting conversation about Hermann with the gentleman that works there. He is an absolute wealth of information. If you ever visit Hermann, stop in and learn about this fascinating little German town.

Very informative tour guide. It was a lovely experience. You tour a Piano maker's home/workshop and a wine maker's home/store. Not wheelchair accessible. I did ok with my cane with my husband's help.

Jackson (our tour guide) was a total rock star! He shared such interesting stories and truly made Hermann feel like one of the most historically significant places we had traveled to. He was also extremely accommodating when my boyfriend had some allergy issues (old buildings=mold smell) and catered his approach to our needs that day. As avid travellers, I can say we were both very impressed!

After hearing about Hermann for years from my friends, I decided to stop by and visit with my mom on our way back from a weekend trip to STL. This is about 20 miles south from I-70 down a lovely one lane road through beautiful rolling hills. The settlers were very intentional in their location as this was close to the river but still close enough to other civilized towns to be able to participate in commerce. The Deutschheim State Historic Site features extremely well preserved buildings dating from several centuries ago. Craig was very knowledgeable on the area and even suggested when fun festivals/holiday celebrations were going on so we could plan a future trip back. As you can see by the photos, it has that European historic charm you'd see in places like Philadelphia or Boston but all within the midwest. Definitely worth the stop. Gift shop includes post cards, books, stamps for holiday cookies (resin, soap, etc if you wish) and you can get stamp cancellations here, too!

Aiden (spelling?) was one of the best tour guides we've had in a plethora of tours at myriad museums. His love of history was evident. The knowledge at his fingertips was impressive. We registered ahead of time online to ensure our spot and are glad we did. Hermann's history is rich, and we are glad we took time to hear about it.

We really enjoyed this small but very good museum. It is in Hermann. Most people go for the wineries but if you get a chance go to this state historical site. The tour is the best part. It takes around 90 minutes but the guides are very informative and excellent. A true hidden gem in mid- Missouri. Entry to the museum is free but the tour cost $5.

A lovely grouping of preserved buildings from Hermann's early days. They represent the German heritage of the area, and proudly display German architectural styles, interior decor, and more. The gardens are attractive, and the surrounding neighborhood is pleasant. Make time for the guided tour, and be prepared for lots of historic information!

Our girls’ trip to Hermann wouldn’t have been complete without Hermannhof Winery — and wow, they set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Justin welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality, making us feel like instant friends. Georgie and Christie made sure every detail was perfect, and their thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. From the charming setting to the gorgeous spread of local flavors, every moment felt curated with care. This is more than a winery — it’s an experience where history, craftsmanship, and heart come together. I left feeling grateful, inspired, and already planning my return.

Great place for both its history (was once a brewery before Prohibition) and now makes some of the best wine I've had. They offer samples to find what suits your taste. We went downstairs in the wine cellar where it's stored and even that was impressive. They also have outdoor tables in back where live music is performed on weekends.

Historically one of my favorite stops of all in Hermann. All of the wine related items in the gift shop, the meat and cheese bar, the historical cellar. The atmosphere in the sampling building is just perfect around the Christmas season. Our group of nine really enjoyed the time here and wished we had more.

So fun! We did a tasting here and we wished we would've gotten food here as well because it smelled SO good. would definitely go back! Mark on your list that they have a little cafe with quite a bit of food because of the places we visited there wasn't a ton of food options if you didn't brings snacks

The wine was ok. They have a nice wine tasting setup. The brats were very good. As always, everything feels like about 5 bucks more than it needs to be. We love the ambiance. Hermann is a beautiful place, and we love visiting. This place is a great location to do some sightseeing. Also, great band. Didn't catch the name, but they will be back 4.29.23.

This was our 3rd stop on the wine trail we created for ourselves on a beautiful summer day and we couldn't have been happier! The aroma's, the scenery, the pics we posted below sell themselves! We had a great experience and plan on coming back next time around the Hermannhof bend and maybe this time we can take a wine trolly so I don't have to stay as sober.......we highly recommend this winery to anyone who wants a toast above the rest!!!

We took the carriage tour through the property. It was just my wife and I, and a little rainy, but they got the horses out and hooked up for us anyway which we really appreciated. It's an incredibly beautiful property, particularly in late October. The tour was great, you get a LOT of history on the farm in a short amount of time. The history about the grape strains/vines was most interesting, to me anyway. We'll definitely be back, next time on a weekend so we can check out the distillery as well.

It was interesting and a great place to spend a couple of hours and learn about the true Mark Twain and his life.

Well thought out small town museum with lots of charm. There are a wide variety of exhibits capturing the many aspects of Hermann, Missouri. There's something for everyone so be sure to check it out if you're in town.

When I moved here to Hermann Missouri, the German school School museum was the first place I went so I can learn about the town. They have excellent educational displays and it's all run by volunteers and I tell you what. If you had a question about Herman they would be the people to go to

A ton of detail and factual data. I Gould have spent a week in this place! Everything was fascinating to dig into and I didn't want to leave. The clock was super cool, the ship exhibit memorable, and the school room my favorite! I will be back to walk through and learn more next time in Hermann. Everything was exceptionally clean as well. Great Job to the folks that run this museum!

What a FANTASTIC place!! Just absolutely amazing. The place is full of pride and very well organized and showcased. The building is amazing. Be sure to allow plenty of time to visit. There is lots to enjoy. The docent was amazing and went above and beyond to help us by calling a local mechanic when we locked our keys in the car. You just can't beat a small town. Looking forward to our return.

Excellent! A great explanation of the German settlement in Mid-Missouri. Looking much like the Rhine, the Germans felt at home although they thought Herman was to be the next Philadelphia. Come to the museum and learn the full story. Many artifacts are from local people and it is very clean and neat. Listen for the school bell to ring when it is open. And at high noon, the town still has a siren to recognize lunch.

The workers were very well informed and very sweet. The museum was fun and we learned a ton about a heritage we had not quite known!

Not a bad spot at all. Tvs for the game. Full bar. Full menu and sit down dining. Menu has lots of variety, and everything we ordered was just as it was listed. Ample casual seating. Open year round. Rustic bar and grill. Worked perfect for us.. the guys had a few beers and food while my friends walked thru the shops of downtown. Good prices and portions. We had a few apps and the Pretzel sticks were done if the best we've ever had. We will go back next time we are in town.

Service was good, surroundings great, not too busy on a Sunday night. I had a the best of sho which the brat itself was very tasty, the toasted bun, hard as a rock. I ate the brat on wife's marble rye. She had the schwein Schnitzel with the jaeger sauce which was a little peppery but she ate it down (with a little help) along with the sides. The service was good, long beer selection of all the popular ones and a few locals.

The food was good, but they don't allow substitution of side dishes, so I was only able to eat the pork tenderloin and cabbage. It felt wasteful for something that would have easily been accommodated. I would have been fine paying a surcharge. Also, there is smoking allowed on one side but it wafts to the non-smoking side.

Went with the Bratwurst Sampler Platter. Brats were a bit cool when served & potato salad a bit runny. Also a bit pricey for "bar food". On the positive side, server was very attentive.

Was doing a bar crawl with my boyfriend in Hermann and this was the second bar we hit. I was particularly in the mood for a Moscow mule and the young gentleman at the bar said he couldn’t make one because the bar didn’t have the right ingredients which was disappointing. He was friendly and patient while we ordered something else. I got a Vodka Soda, and my boyfriend got a Rum and Coke. Neither tasted great, but the alcohol pour was good in these… maybe too strong LOL. The environment wasn’t too rowdy or loud, and you were able to talk without blaring music in the background which we both liked. There was ample seating and the place had a cute charm. It was an overall average experience, only thing I could say would improve it would be a more stocked bar! Would probably come back again.

Ate here for lunch on a Wednesday in July. Only one server/bartender was working. Only 3 tables were occupied. It took an unusually long time for us to have order taken, to get our food, and to get our tab, especially for as few people as were in the restaurant. The food was decent. Would order the brat again. Friends would order the Reuben Burger and BLT again. DEFINITELY be ware of the coleslaw. It is super spicy!! Horseradish maybe?

A mostly 5 star experience here. Loved the food (the caramelized pear & gorgonzola brat, turkey club with fried green tomatoes), service was great, really enjoyed it...until someone started smoking ☹️ did not know this was still allowed in some states. Would still return, but next time for a carryout 🙂

I recommend using the Hermann Trolley Company. Patrick was our driver and he was amazing! He took care of us from dropping us off at the wineries, taking care of our bottles of wine in the trolley, showing us around Hermann and recommending restaurants in Hermann to eat at. Thanks Patrick you are the best!

My husband and I just got back from our first trip to Hermann. We knew we wanted to visit wineries and distilleries and didn’t want to drive to and from all day. We did the two day pass. It was worth every penny. Patrick was phenomenal! He had so many good suggestions along the way, he never steered us wrong. When we plan our next trip, we will utilize their service again! Three stars because the trolley service is good. The dark history tour was not so good. The bus was extremely hot. While moving it wasn't bad, but we stopped on the side of the road a few times and sat in the sweltering bus listening to the driver give us 10% dark history mixed in with 30% Hermann history and the rest, nonsense. A drunk girl made us all stop and wait on the sauna bus while she ran off and got lost looking for a bathroom. The girl with the mic was chasing her and talking to us through the mic the whole time. Finally, we got to the only redeeming part of the tour, the cemetery. Enjoy a moment of cool air, then we were told to get back on. Bus driver starts another 10 minute talk on the volcano bus and I'm wondering why we couldn't do this part outside. Better yet, drive straight to the cemetery, do ALL the talking outside and point out cool stuff on the way back. We may do the trolley another time, but the dark history tour will have to go through an overhaul before we try it again.

We had such a good experience with the trolleys!!! Rudi was an awesome driver, we got picked up and dropped off from our air bnb which was a little ways away from all the wineries. Highly recommend using!

The Hermann Trolly Company is absolutely phenomenal! All the drivers were so kind, efficient, knowledgeable and professional. You guys are seriously rockstars. You can tell they care about every passenger and are willing to go above and beyond to help. It made our trip so smooth and enjoyable. This is such a well oiled machine. Thank you!!

For the haunted tour it was really cute and decorated well. Just make sure you sit in the very front. Their speakers in the back don’t work and if you’re in the back of the trolley you can’t hear any of the info or stories unless the trolley is stopped. Feel like we missed out on a lot sadly.

John (John Boy) was the absolutely most fun and accommodating driver I have ever had. From the jokes, to keeping our purchased items safe, he had us very well taken care of. We experienced a fun, joyous atmosphere with the vibes to match. Thank you Herman trolley Service for giving us the best girls day!

*Edit* I added a photo, these were purchased in store on Saturday April 26th. Thought it may be big peppercorns at first? But I hadn't noticed that in these with past experiences. Why does my German bratwurst look like it has blueberries in it? I don't remember the German brats having purple spots in them ever.

We recently visited Hermann Wurst Haus after hearing several recommendations, but unfortunately our experience did not live up to expectations. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, largely due to the staff member who was assisting us. Her demeanor made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. The food was also disappointing. The sandwiches were served on pretzel buns that were extremely dry and tough, and the portions came with very little barbecue sauce. For the high price point, we expected much better quality. When I went to purchase sausage snacks for the road, I discovered they don’t accept tap-to-pay, which was fine. I went to retrieve my debit card, but then their point-of-sale machine malfunctioned. At that point, I resorted to paying with cash. What struck me as odd, however, was that immediately after realizing they didn’t take tap-to-pay, the staff member pulled the snacks out of my hand and attempted to put them back on the shelf, even though I had every intention of completing the purchase. We drove more than 50 miles to visit Hermann and looked forward to this stop, but it turned out to be the low point of our trip. While we will certainly return to Hermann in the future, we will not return to Hermann Wursthaus, particularly if the same employee is working. There are many other establishments in town that offer both friendlier service and a more worthwhile dining experience.

Replace the “u” in Wurst with an “o” — and honestly, that says it all. I absolutely adore Hermann, MO. It’s a sweet little town with all the cozy charm you could want. My husband and I have been stopping here for over 20 years during our military moves across the country. (Side note: He’s from Kirksville, so Hermann is basically our unofficial pit stop.) Also, shoutout to Adam Puchta wine — love that stuff! But I digress... onto the food. So, I ordered two sausage platters, all served on Styrofoam plates with plastic silverware. And guess what? That gourmet experience set me back a cool $93.00. Can we talk about sticker shock for a minute? Now, let’s get to the “meat” of the matter: Portions sadly small. The sides were basically a large tablespoon. German potato salad: Surprisingly decent. Potatoes were firm (not mushy), with a nice flavor and a hint of sweetness. I’ll give credit where it’s due. Red cabbage: Bland. Like, “did someone forget to invite flavor to the party?” bland. The sausage: Also bland and oddly firm — like it was training for a marathon or something. Sauerkaut: - wait for it... came with yellow peppers. Yellow peppers?! Who thought that was a good idea? Maybe to bulk up the portion? Definitely didn’t add anything tasty — just weird vibes. But the absolute worst part? The ordering process itself. A complete circus that made me question every single life choice I’ve ever made. Here’s how it went down: We ordered drinks—explained clearly to the cashier what we wanted. Bloody Mary for one, and a Riefenstahler by Adam Puchta for the other. The order then magically gets sent to the bar in the back. So my girlfriend, thinking all was well, goes to the bar to grab her drink. The bartender asks, “Sweet or dry?” She says “sweet,” assuming he already knows what she ordered. Spoiler alert: He did not. Instead of the Riefenstahler, he hands her a white wine that’s definitely not it. When he approaches our table later, I politely inform him, “That’s not Riefenstahler.” Cue the most ridiculous look you’ve ever seen — like he just solved a Rubik’s cube for the first time. He argues, “She said sweet.” I remind him, “I told the cashier she wanted Riefenstahler.” He doubles down, “She said sweet.” I say, “Yes, and Riefenstahler is sweet — it’s been sweet for 20 years. Know your product. Don’t argue with customers.” Honestly, it was like 2/3 of a cup of wine — no biggie to fix. But instead, we got attitude and stubbornness over a glass of wine. So yeah, if you’re craving anything close to good sausage, look elsewhere. Or at least prepare yourself for a sausage that’s more “wors” than wurst — and an ordering process that’s a whole different kind of disaster. Did I mention I paid $93.00 for this experience.

Well. I know the golden rule. If you don't have anything nice to say... we'll im sorry 43.00 for a skimpy little bit of brisket sandwich, baked beans, a tough as heck brat and some German potato salad is ridiculous. The brats are sitting in bins under heat lamps. Need i say more. We also had two drinks. Water and a soda. I knew the price is going in.But I expected much more. It's said that it was a piled high brisket sandwich. Not even close. Hardly any sauce. The only thing that was good was the German potato salad. They should be ashamed of what they charge for what they sell. X THIS OFF THE BUCKET LIST

BEST dinner we had after a week in Hermann! We did do takeout and ate in our glamper; when I placed our order, the lady who took my order said, "That'll be ready in 6 minutes." I love the commitment! We had the German platter with the Best of Show brat and the Gorgonzola and Pear brat with potato salad. Excellent! Can't wait to go back on our next trip to Hermann.

Wife and I went in today on our way back from STL as Hermann is our favorite little get away ever since our honeymoon and our experience at WH before had been great. Not so today. The woman working behind the counter was entirely put out to be helping customers. Not sure why she has such a poor attitude but seeing other reviews it seems like something WH should really see to. The baby back ribs were tough, and sparsely covered in bland and underwhelming BBQ sauce. The kindest feedback I can give is that WH is far too close to KC to get by with such mediocre ribs and sauce. The pretzels bun used for brats is tough and unpleasant and the brats themselves had a mushy consistency like they were over boiled. I know how awesome these brats are when grilled or prepared properly but what we got today was really a poor representation of and otherwise delicious brat. However, I'm going to say the worst of the meal was the German potato salad which tasted essentially like vinegar mush. I know it's the busy season. I know small business owners do the best they can...but the food today was far from the mark...and the service of the dark haired woman working behind the counter is enough to take this locale off our list of places to visit when we get-away from the city to come enjoy Hermann.

We enjoyed this brewery. The bartender was awesome and the beer was good. The Midnight Whistle was very good. It’s a great building too. The beers were pricey with them running $7-$8.

First off, they don't do flights! With all the unique beers they have, that surprised me. They will let you try most anything before you buy a pint. I had the Brown ale & the wife an imperial stout / we would both order them again. The bartender wasn't Mr. Personality although it was a Sunday evening close to closing time.

Stopped at 5pm on a Monday in Hermann. Had a Munich and a wheat beer .Both were tasty .Ordered the veggie Flatbread. Excellent. Will try the pepperoni with hot honey next time! Nice outdoor beer garden.

We had the pumpkin ale, ipa, and the bourbon barrel stout. All were excellent! The backyard is fantastic, especially with the sun shining and live music. Bartenders were always friendly and quick. Highly recommend!

We went here because we heard live music going and decided to check it out. Atmosphere and the outdoor area was nice. Had drinks and food. Everything was good over all. Should check the site to see if live music is going on. It wasn't over crowded like others places were.

If you are looking for a beer in Herman this is the place to go. I don’t know how many hand crafted beers they have but it was a bunch. Also the live band on the weekends and food was a bonus. Will be back.

From St. Louis and wanted to get away for a weekend. I found the Tin Mill brewing company in Herman! It was an amazing experience! The place was open and very welcoming! With three floors, you are able to find a space to eat and drink! The main floor has a self tour that is easy to follow and leads to the gift shop that has great items for sale at good prices. The basement is an open cellar that plays music and is open all around. The top floor is meant for dinning and drinking with family! While I was looking around the building, there were three bachelorette parties going on along with two birthday parties!!! Definitely a great place to spend for personal events or even birthday parties. The beer was terrific as well! I tried skyscraper, skylight, and true street wheat! They had me coming back for more! Last but not least, the staff, they were very friendly, hard working and welcoming! I could not ask to be served by a better crew, a definite five out of five. Also, on a personal note, a big thanks to the manager of the Tin Mill, he was kind, funny and went above and beyond for everyone, for every second of his time with a smile! If you want to get out, go to an amazing brewery, head to the Tin Mill brewing company! It will be worth the time and drive!!!

We were looking for a cold drink on a hot, humid July afternoon and stumbled across this place. The staff was very friendly the moment we walked in the door. The slushies were delicious and the counter person explained that they are made from scratch every morning. Seriously good and refreshing. We also had what were listed as wings but they were more like nuggets. No problem as they were moist and perfectly breaded. We got them naked with sauce on the side. Very tasty. This little place is well worth a visit. We recommend.

Always an amazing culinary experience! We LOVE the summer menu and the food is BEYOND exceptional. Come hungry or enjoy the leftovers. Love the boozy slushies, too!!

Stopped at Doxie Slush with my boyfriend on a little day trip to Herman. It was a cooler day but the slushies looked so good we had to try them. And I’m so glad we did. We enjoyed chitchatting and trying each other’s slushes on the patio. The guy working solo inside was so sweet, I’d come back just for him! Also… we were tipsy by the time we left. It was a perfect pregame to the rest of our day.

This place was amazing I got the Brunch Burger and my wife got the Coconut Shrimp and both of these were amazing. We also got the flight of slushie drinks and everything was perfect. I was talking to the waiter and he told me they have an actual culinary Chef that owns it and he was telling us how hard the owner works everyday to prepare everything and it really shows in his food and drinks. Definitely give this place a try if you are in Herman Missouri.

Accidentally stumbled into this cute town while out on the motorcycle. Watched the July 4th parade on the 5th. Then had an awesome lunch at Doxie Slush. Great staff food and slushy’s. Spicey chicken sandwich was fantastic as was strawberry 🍓 macadamia salad. The blue corn margarita was perfect for the 90 degree day.

My friends and I went on a Saturday night and were super impressed with this place! The food came out SO fast and it was very good!! The staff was welcoming and friendly. This is a type of place you would expect in like KC or St. Louis but hermann is super lucky to have it there!

The food was fantastic and the drinks were much more than just a booze slushie. I appreciated the vegetarian options on the menu. Definitely try the flight and fried mac n cheese.

My husband and I went on the distillery tour with JD. He was super knowledgeable, approachable, and fun to talk to. We loved the farm, its history, and of course - the whiskey! The tour was well worth the price. Great mixed drinks and JD took several pics of us for great keepsakes. Thanks so much - would definitely return.

Very cool setup of buildings and courtyards with the creek right there. Excellent staff bartending and assisting you through the tastings! If you like flavored whiskeys at all, try the blackberry, it is very good, my wife even liked it enough to take several sips, she is not a whiskey drinker!

Black Shire Distillery was an instant hit on our Hermann girls’ trip. The atmosphere is cool yet welcoming, with an energy that makes you want to stay for “just one more” (and then happily agree to another). The craft cocktails are balanced and creative, and the spirits carry that unmistakable small-batch quality you can taste. Every member of the team was friendly and engaging, making our time there feel personal, not transactional. It’s a must-stop whether you’re a whiskey lover, cocktail enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates a good pour and great company.

Awesome time at the distillery. The mixed drinks were amazing if you like drinks that are smooth and dont taste like alcohol, if you prefer the taste then try the flight although straight up they are a bit harsh. Ask for JD, he was amazing and very knowledgeable. 10/10 would come again just for JD.

My husband and I loved touring Black Shire! Our tour guide was great, very informative and engaging. The property is beautiful with lots of cool history. We'll be back next time we visit Hermann!

We had a really disappointing and uncomfortable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. With so few customers in the place, we expected a more hospitable attitude—but instead, we felt rushed and as if our presence was an inconvenience. It’s unfortunate, because we were looking forward to supporting a local business, but instead we left feeling awkward and unwelcome.

We were shopping in Herman& decided to stop by. Delicious chocolate! We tried a little bit of everything. I got my husband the strawberry milkshake poppers & he really liked them. I'm a dark chocolate lover & theirs was good. I didn't love the chocolate covered cherry mixture like I thought I would though.

If you have a sweet tooth you have to visit Ricky’s Chocolate Box! We ended up with some of the salt water tagged, some hard candy and they were amazing. They also have a big window into the kitchen so you can watch the candy and sweets being made.

Everything looks really good but unfortunately looks can be deceiving. The chocolate has a burnt taste and was gritty. Over $30 for six pieces. We were disappointed.

Smells so great in there! Hard to decide what to try. Went in there twice yesterday after telling our friends about it. The truffles are amazing and huge. The stuffed dipped pretzels are awesome! Not a bad choice can be made

Went to Ricky's Chocolate Box last week and had the German Turtles and black walnut turtles. My husband had several other chocolate treats. They were delicious. The clerk was friendly and helpful.

The truffles.....WOW. Rich, creamy, melt in your mouth amazingness. The creme de menth was one of my favorites!

Looks like they are going out of business. Hardly any product and cashier was less than enthusiastic or helpful. So sad, last time the chocolate bar with coffee was delicious!

Love this cute coffeehouse in downtown Hermann. The owner and staff are friendly and attentive. The patio seating is beautiful and peaceful. For future visits, this will be our go-to for coffee and the amazing coffeecake!

super great place, only reason atmosphere gets 3 is because it was very cramped and a lot of stuff was crammed in like toys and merchandise. we got coffee and smoothies there, and it was super quick service and all of the drinks and food we got was fantastic. a little overpriced but all coffee shops are. they have a lot of syrup options if you like syrup, and couches and tables that have natural light. bathrooms are nice. the place that you are supposed to order at is like 2 feet wide, but overall nice place.

We stopped at this coffee shop during a paddle race on the MO river. The owner asked if we were part of the race, and graciously went out of her way to accommodate our unique needs. We were so thankful for the awesome help. And the drinks and scones were excellent! If we are ever in Hermann again, we will make it a point to stop in and support these lovely folks again. Thank you!

Wonderful coffee shop! Came here the two days we were in town, and we had a wonderful experience. We spent time chatting with the owner, and she is amazing. Great coffee and treats and atmosphere. Will return any time we are visiting

Cute coffee shop, a nice refresh of the few options for acceptable coffee around. I’m very much into coffee and was looking forward to trying it. Husband had the espresso and I had a cappuccino. The reason for 2 stars in service was that we got quite an unfriendly request leave because of our service animal. They didn’t even ask if it was service, which he is, and behaves well (super trained and was wearing his tag). I thought it was very insensitive and tbh service animals are allowed anywhere their owner goes.

We ordered a chocolate chai latte (amazing if you like chai tea lattes), a bacon/gouda egg sandwich and a breakfast burrito. Everything was amazing and their chipotle is perfect on the burrito.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stomp’n Grounds. I had one of their strawberry Italian sodas, which was super refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness! The food came out fresh and warm, and even though it was a busy day, the service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was everything you could want from a small town café, cozy, inviting, and well taken care of. It is also filled with trinkets you can buy and a whole wall of art for those who want to snag a unique piece of art! I wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often! Before leaving town I managed to run back in and get the peach passion smoothie for the road. This spot is truly a gem!

Amazing little coffee shop! The pumpkin spice latte with their house made syrup was so good and not too sweet. The patio was quiet and perfect on a cool morning sipping coffee. Will definitely be back!

Best latte I’ve ever had—so good I ordered two back-to-back! The food is fresh (not chain-style prepackaged), the staff is incredibly friendly, and the vibe is awesome with local art and unique finds. If you’re anywhere nearby, this place is a must-stop!

This place is a true gem in Hermann and a must visit spot if you're ever in the area. I did try to reserve a tour earlier in the morning but there were none offered that afternoon but that didn't stop us for venturing out to this distillery just to check it out. The staff were amazing, answering our questions and more than willing to take the time to tell us all about the process of the business. The views though.......simply breathtaking!

The grounds are very impressive. It’s obvious that the owners take pride in their property and their bourbon. They host a terrific bourbon festival with Missouri distilleries every year.

What beautiful grounds!! Copper Mule is family owned and operated distillery that is starting to really ramp up their production abilities. I visited with family on a Thursday after noon and took the grounds tours. The Lady of house gave the tour and was very will versed in her business and history but not so much on the intricacies of there product. That didn't take away from the experience and seeing first hand the building and construction of there facilities was very interesting. I look forward to seeing how the distillery and tasting area finishes out and rick house fills up over the next year or two. The new still will provide more consistence and promote a better product. They already have good tasting whiskey, it will interesting to see this brand grow over the years. I recommend getting a drink from the bar and sitting on the back porch looking over the grounds before you walk it for the tour. Their barrel program is a neat concept, unfortunately the timing for some one who live out of state is not convenient. Anyone local should get in on it. The frozen old fashion is delicious! We left with a few bottles and T-shirt!

Spectacular views of the country side! Amazing drinks and slushy. Small but tasty menu items and apps. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Plentiful seating inside and out. Especially enjoyed the covered deck with the great views. Gift shop. Clean restrooms. Gravel parking on a steep hill or limited flat gravel lot up front. 1 step at front porch to door front door so doesn’t appear to be wheelchair accessible.

I really liked the back porch. Great view. The bourbon slush was quite tasty—prob would have been even better if it had been hotter out. The building and grounds were good. The only downside was it was a little bit out of the city.

Copper Mule Distillery was my favorite distillery in Hermann MO. I highly reccomend a visit. One of the Best Old Fashioned I've had. Kora was a fabulous bartender and full of historical information about the history of Copper Mule. Beautiful property. Great Bourbon. I reccomend a visit.

Somewhat new to the Missouri bourbon market, Copper Mule distillery is poised to assume a leadership role in the whiskey loving scene. We enjoyed the great whiskey, reasonably priced tastings, and the best Old Fashion we've ever had. A beautiful tasting room, and spectacular scenery are an added bonus. We loved learning a ton of entertaining bourbon history while being served by owner operator Don Gossen. Don and his wife Jeanne, the proprietors, honor Jeanne’s great grandfather Captain Gustav Wohlt with their passionate love of the distilling industry. Wohlt helped found the Hermann Distilling Company in 1893. The name, Copper Mule, honors the Kallmeyer family mules grazing the property beginning in 1910. A can't miss stop while in the St. Louis and Hermann, Missouri area.

Cute little free museum! Learned about Missouri railroads inside an original piece of history. Kids loved it.

Easily accessible with plenty of nearby parking in the downtown area.

The park is conveniently located and used by locals and out- of- towners alike. A well maintained swimming pool and baseball diamond are favorites. Our 1st campsite was in the 19-43 section. These back-in sites aren't wide enough to put out an awning. It felt very crowded. Our 2nd site was in the 1-18 section. It rained, and our site was inundated with about 3 inches of water. The next morning, the water had receded somewhat, but it made breaking camp a soggy mess. I guess I expect more for $40 @ night. Still, any chance to stay and enjoy Hermann is a plus!

We travel with a group of friends and family so we had 4 RV's in close proximity of each other. Our sites were spacious and fairly level. We had plenty of space to get together around a central fire pit. There are trees and nice shade in some areas. We signed up for the trolley which would pick us up and drop us off at the campground. We had a very enjoyable stay and plan to return at some point!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great campground with easy access from the Katy Trail to McClintock Trailhead. Level sites, online booking only. A little road noise at 19/100, but the four pickleball courts and super friendly locals make it a fantastic stop!

Full hook ups at all sites. No reservations first come first serve. You pay $30 per night on the honor system. Beautiful big trees, pet friendly, bathroom, dumpsters. Walking distance to many attractions in Herman. They don't take reservations but you can put up a reservation for site on the posts at each site. Weekends are pretty much booked due to festivals. But during the week it's pretty open. Most sites are back in but there are also drive through. We stayed two days and loved it here.

Very quiet overall. Our space, #51, was creek side with plenty of space. The utility pedestal is quite elevated for potential flooding so recommend be aware of heavy rains. Close enough to the activities and shopping to walk or ride bikes if you’re so inclined. We stayed on an Oktoberfest weekend but the crowds were not excessive. We would definitely stay here again.

Made a reservation during non-peak season in order to have a place to camp while biking the Katy Trail. Was unable to make it to Hermann because of an injury. The website states no refunds, but I asked if our pre-payment could be "banked" to use at a later date. The answer was no. In an age of electronic payments, it seems silly not to be able to refund fees (even in part). The cost of the campsite was 3 times what it was when we stayed several years ago. I can't address the quality of the site or restrooms because we never got there.

Hermann City park is one of our favorite places to camp. The addition of a way to reserve online is so great and a much needed improvement!

Stayed in the Sunset Cabin with my girlfriend for a decompression weekend and it was spectacular. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer. The only partial flaw (according to my girlfriend) was the water pressure in the shower. Overall though, I would highly recommend to anyone looking to decompress over the weekend.

For the price I expected a comfortable bed and nice breakfast. I got neither. I was in the moonlight cottage and the bed was a double with a cheap uncomfortable mattress that kept me up all night. For breakfast, they put a tiny muffin and generic yogurt in the fridge the night before and that was literally it. The coffee was Keurig with generic coffee pods. The bathroom sink is 12" wide and a shelf right above it so you can't lean over to brush your teeth or wash your face.

Highly recommend. 3 of us stayed here last weekend and had a great stay. Beds are comfy and great hospitality.

Staying in a treehouse rather than a Four Seasons was quite an adventure for us and we LOVED it! My partner and I came to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. The service at the treehouse went above and beyond but keep in mind, it’s a treehouse, not a hotel. The bed was soooo comfortable. Everything was clean inside and a broom is provided to clear anything away around the deck. We dined at Fernweh and enjoyed breakfast at Ainsley’s and coffee at Stomping Grounds. Renting e-bikes and hitting the Katy Trail was a blast. I highly recommend the treehouses for a unique stay in Hermann.

We stayed in the sunset treehouse. It was okay but if it's warm at night the loft bedroom is hot. They had a fan by the bed but it would not work. I know they said breakfast was provided but I didn't really see much besides a couple items in mini fridge. The small fridge can't really fit much of anything. It was also odd that I had to check the water level for them in the utility closet. So not sure worth the cost. The chairs on the deck were dirty to point you didn't want to sit on them. Also I has to dump the dehumidifier but I was glad they had one in there.

It was a delightful experience. I treated my bestie to a retreat at the Cottage for her birthday. It was cozy, cute, and relaxing. The scenery around the cottage was amazing especially while we raced in the hot tub in the tree tops. I cannot wait to go back. The birthday package was worth the surprise and personal touch!

This is a fantastic place for a weekend getaway, or a mid week getaway! It is conveniently located 4 minutes from downtown and close to all the winery and distillery locations! The lady was very sweet and on top of anything we needed (which wasn’t much, because they had everything perfectly waiting)! I would 100% recommend it.

Great lunch experience. Just arrived in Hermann and came here. Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Enjoyed the taste but felt the meal was a bit expensive for what we got. That being said, the blackberry whisky cocktail was worth the added expense, and the food was well cooked and beautifully presented. It's definitely worth a visit, but probably not a second visit.

Our first time eating at the tin mill. It was a wonderful experience. We were served by Grandma and her personality was delightful. She was very attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We wanted a quick bite and ordered a smash burger. It was probably one of the best smash burgers as it was cooked to perfection and I even told our waitress please tell chef that this is so good. Everyone around us was ordering the same thing.😂 so it must be a popular choice. The burger had the perfect charbroiled taste, well seasoned, the bun was perfect and not so big where I could enjoy the taste of the burger. The toppings were so good ! A+ and now I will have to come back to eat this again. I will say the fries were perfect too. They had the perfect crisp, and was so enjoyable eating them next to my burger. We will be back!

For $33 you would expect a seafood *platter* to have more than three pieces of shrimp and one piece of catfish. Almost more fries on the plate than there was seafood. See all that color on the clamstrips? You'd think its well seasoned right? No, flavorless. And more fries than strips, kinda decieving. We had to ask for salt, butter, and more tartar sauce to give our food some flavor. The pretzel sticks and cheese dip was legit tho. And that tartar sauce was much needed. Maybe they're hoping for people to come in wine drunk to be like oh this was delicious. TLDR: not enough flavor and small proportions

I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. Would like to return for dinner and sit in the side with the white table clothes. Apps were wonderful, and the service was great.

We were excited to come here. It looks really cool inside and the theme is neat. However we had a few issues. At the beginning of the meal the server said they weren’t out of anything. We went to order and 2 out of 3 of us ordered the half chicken and the other ordered the steak with chimichurri sauce on it. Turns out they didn’t have the half chicken. That’s fine we changed our order. Then the food comes out and my steak has no chimichurri on it. Turns out they were out of that too which was the whole reason I got the steak. They did discount it which is fine but wouldn’t go back. The kitchen manager is not very good. Maybe they should think about changing him if he can’t take care of the 8 entrees you have on the menu. Because our service was great with a sweet server. Our drinks were good. It is solely because of the food as to why we wouldn’t come back. That was crazy.

Looked in an old grain mill. Lots of character and they did a fabulous job remodeling it into a restaurant. Lots of exposed wood beams inside . Very cool . They are low hanging so if you're taller you definitely have to duck walking around . The pork snitzel was good . Nothing amazing and at 27 dollars not real cheap either . We sat outside as it was a nice fall evening . Our server was apparently the bartender also so we didn't get much service from him . The other servers took over for him . I would probably try other options in town before coming back here again

You drive up to a small town with tons of charm. You decide to stop for food, and after reading reviews on the many German options you decide on this one. You put in directions and after a series of one way streets, closed parking lots and driving all the way around the small town you pull up to what looks like boutique store. We walk in to what seems like a small boutique, but is actually the front to the restaurant. The restaurant is a vibe for sure, it is decorated nicely and the hosts were very nice. If I were ever to come here again it would only be for the pretzels and the drinks. I won’t even give our server a bad review because she was the only one I saw working. She did the best she could. It was slooow. It took 45min to get our food. But that was after they came back and told us they were out of Alfredo. We had ordered the $22p Alfredo to split with our young children since not one person informed us that there’s actually a children’s menu.(despite having obvious children of kids menu age). We didn’t find out until they kept being out of things. Then we ordered two things off the kids menu, waited a while only for our server to come back and tell us they didn’t have it. So we finally get our food…. And it’s cold, well, I shouldn’t say that because the kids food was too hot to eat. It was just our food. Now… this is so odd but the military discount was 3.39% they don’t have to do anything, so I’m grateful, but it’s honestly such an obscure %. The menu is very limited so you’d think they wouldn’t be out of things, and they are only open 3 days a week. The drinks were good, but over priced, and the pretzel sticks(6) were good but over priced at almost $2 a stick the size of 2 auntie Anne’s pretzel bites. If you are looking for a bar to get drinks and have a good time, I’d say order two drinks at a time. There’s no reason it should take 15min to pour wine. Clean bathrooms though, and my husband says the old fashioned was the best drink he’s ever had. So there’s that.

Nice atmosphere. We're not drinkers, so we can't rate the alcohol. Most of the menu consists of brisket dishes and after we waited 30 minutes to be seated, we were told they don't have enough brisket for us. It was 615pm on a Saturday. My son was able to order the brisket mac, see photo before he took his first bite. Hard to find any brisket. I got the heaven and earth mash potatoes. The bowl was warm, but the potatoes were cold. My wife got the sweet carrots they tasted like they were frozen before cooking (chewy). They also told my wife they were out of the salad dressing she ordered. We discovered why we had to wait soo long. As people left, it took about 20 minutes to clean and prep a table for the next guest. The servers carried the dishes away three or four at a time while doing lots talking and walking in circles. It was all kind of humorous.

What an amazing place with awesome staff - Hot Amy and Breadstick bartenders in particular and tasteful food and terrific drinks even if you don’t like bourbon!!! We were in Hermann for my birthday and sat at bar to watch KC game and Amy came right up to us and when I told her what kind of drink I was craving she looked it up online and created it just for me!!! What a bartender!!! Breadstick suggested different dishes to try and gave us good entertainment during commercials and we just had a blast!! We had never been there before but we will make it a tradition to come back!!!

We visited Fernweh while visiting Hermann, MO and was so impressed! The tasting was awesome and the young lady that did it knew her stuff! We decided to have dinner there because our server recommended the steak dinner. It was DELICIOUS! Huge portions, and the cocktails were on point! Definitely will return!

Just got in town early and went there for Brunch. Very quiet and peaceful, probably due to everyone being in church. Great atmosphere, great food, and the Bartender Chris had a great sense of humor and great service. Would recommend to anyone that visits here. Right next to the local shoppes and parking not a problem.

We went here Friday evening. We waited 45 min to be seated. The drinks were so strong and bitter tasting that they couldn't be enjoyed. We ordered the chicken sandwich which was ok and the shrimp tacos which were dry and didn't have the sauce as stated on the menu. Additionally we waited another 45 minutes for our food. Pablo, the waiter was awesome! IMO this was way overpriced and the wait was ridiculous. Find another option

We were excited to try Fernweh Distilling Co. for dinner on our first night in Hermann—starving and ready to relax. Unfortunately, this place delivered nothing but confusion, rude service, and a total lack of accountability. We were told we couldn’t wait at the bar because the bartenders “couldn’t keep up with making drinks.” Odd, but we were understanding—until we waited almost double the quoted time, only to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. What exactly were we waiting on? The majority of the staff—from check-in to kitchen to server—were consistently rude and dismissive. The only ones showing kindness were the children (yes, children, maybe 12–14 years old) who were bussing tables. That alone raises major legal and ethical concerns. Our drinks were poorly made, our food orders were all wrong (even the same orders came out differently), and staff offered zero accountability. One even played loud, expletive-filled rap music from their phone—right in the middle of the dining room. Completely unprofessional. To top it off, when it came time to pay, we were surprised with a 22% gratuity—automatically applied to our group of 7, despite each of us having separate checks. No warning, no heads-up, just tacked on at the end. We came to Hermann for good vibes and good food. Fernweh Distilling Co. gave us neither. From mismanagement to questionable staffing choices, this place was a mess. Save yourself the headache and choose literally anywhere else in town. Anywhere at all but there.

Not much of vintage soda advertising. There are two roached signs, one I believe isn’t for sale. A ton of vintage vinyl which was nice but a note to the dealer. Could you at least take the sand out before you put them up for sale? Keep up the integrity of albums sand scratches!

Treasure after treasure 😍 I don’t think I have enough space here to write about all the items we saw. Glassware, records, clothes, bags, knives, lamps, coins, typewriters, skateboards, books, toys, and thousands of fascinating things.

Coolest antique store I’ve visited! Lots of neat items. Guy behind the counter is very knowledgeable and cool. Highly recommend!

Thousands of reasons to stop here! The old album bin they have there is worth the trip alone. Lots of nostalgic items here including a large old radio player from the '30s that should be seen. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, a plus for any visitor.

Fun collection of oddities, antiques and collectibles for sale. Great place to walk thru, highly recommend taking the time to browse. Feels like walking through the past. Lots of memories awakened.

Cute store! They had a variety of candy to choose from, cute cookie cutters, and several choices of pie. We sampled the double crust apple, bacon apple, and coconut cream pies. All were very good. Thoughts on Bacon Apple Pie- I love bacon! I love apple pie! Not sure if Bacon Apple Pie is for me but I'm glad I tried it. :) The Apple pie filling was very tasty!

Amazing selection, super cute verity,unique items. Prices are what I would expect to pay for candy. Bulk items available pre-packaged, as well as by-the-pound. Cold items, brewed coffee, packaged coffee. Souvenirs. I mean the smell alone! Stop by. You'll leave with a smile on your face!

Santa was here, and he was giving out toothbrushes. Tis the season. My favorite part of the visit was looking at all the old-time candies that I don't see many places anymore such as Chuckles, Zagnut, Clark, etc. It reminded me of the "penny" candy days from my childhood. Sugar Momma's is noted for their pies. I had the blackberry cream. They put sour cream in the filling. It has a crumb topping and homemade crust. And fresh blackberries. It was excellent as are all their pies. A few things I think could be better--I wish they had flavored brewed coffees not just a Keurig maker. I also wish they had some seating so guests could eat inside their establishment as well as getting it to go. Whenever I go to Hermann, MO, I make sure I stop there for a piece of pie. They have great cookies, too!

The candy was good. Especially the Milkia bars. In fact, I loved them so much that I had to go back before I left town to buy the last of the extra cocoa bars. One of the ladies was on the phone talking about a family member who was being abused and was suicidal. That definitely killed our vibe. But the lady the next day was a sweetheart.

So much variety!! We got delicious candy that was locally made and also some imported from Germany. They have taffy, licorice, chocolate, and whatever your heart desires.

I loved all the variety of new and older types of candy. They also have merchandise such as shirts and a huge variety of freshly made pies and jellies/fruit jams.

Friendly staff, they had yummy cheesecake and fudge. Great place to find nostalgic candy.

Historical courthouse on a high lookout. The building is great but needs a littleTLC. Charles Eitzen statue and old canon in front. The copper domes are awesome. Great view of the Missouri river and some of downtown. One way in on a steep hill.

Didygo in it was closed but walked around it still a cool building we sat around back for a snack and the view

I was not allowed to make my one phone call. Every time the officer touched me, I was injured. Completely inhumane system. 2/10 would be drunk and disorderly again

Went to see the murals in the rotunda. They were nice. Information was supposed to be in a desk but was not there. Wonderful old architecture. Worth a brief stop if architecture or local art tick your boxes

Terrible service the accessor lady was the rudiest person I've ever met. All I wanted to do was give them some money instead she made me go to the county I was having my mail forwarded to shame on gasganade co for keeping her around.

Love the historic building plus the employees are ready to help.

Long wait and then they issued a w as errant for me saying I didn't show up if you have a handicap don't come here steps all the way up took me 15 minutes to walk up.Old seats in court that were very uncomfortable .needs to be renovated and a handicap entrance put in thought the handicap should be in any city court .

This was such a fun experience! I would highly recommend it. The country is beautiful and everyone is warm and friendly. All of the winery's along the trail offer wine tasting and snacks while enjoying the site's and cellars. It's a must do for this area in Hermann!

I have been on the Cheese Wine Trail and the Chocolate Wine Trail. They were both amazing! I can’t wait to try all the others! Love the history of the town and the wineries.

Due to the stairs and hills we are finding Dierbergs, Hermannhof and Reserve Cellars are hard for us to access. We have been going to the Wine Trail for many many years and have always enjoyed it. But now we find we can no longer enjoy it due to the inaccessibility. We were not the only ones affected. We saw many others that were experiencing what we were. If the accessibility could be improved we would love to continue attending,

Fantastic time with my family. The wine tasting went great and the presenter was phenomenal. Will be back soon with more friends and family for future events and or outtngs.

I just participated in the Chocolate Wine Trail. I had mixed feelings. Since this was a February event, it would be nice if each winery could plan better for the cold temps. Adam Puchta did the best job - had a large tent with plenty of seating and a heater blowing in the tent. It would be nice if the other wineries that are too small to house a large group could do something similar. I had to stand and eat/drink at 3 of the locations (not ideal). It would also be nice for the employees to try and pour the same amount of wine (and for some of the wineries to increase the amount poured - at 1 of the wineries I don't think the pour was even 1/4 an inch - maybe 3 sips) For how tiny the glasses are, I would think you could at least fill it 1/3 full. I was also surprised to see Robller as part of the trail since it is about a 20 minute drive from Hermann. The positive - there were some great pairings - the mousse, chocolate chip muffins and cheesecake bars were my favorites of the day!

this was an awful experience. We went for a birthday weekend to do wine tasting so we bought these "special" tickets. They ONLY give you ONE sample of wine of their choice and of course they were all dry wines which we are not a fan of. I feel we should have gotten at least 3 samples of our own choice at each place. It was a complete joke and waste of money!! You are better off purchasing trolley tickets for all day and go to the wineries and pay for your own samples. Needless to say we did not buy any wine because we could not taste others unless we wanted to spend money over the $35 we had already spent. Such a disappointment, especially after driving 4 hrs-never again

Always make new acquaintances on the wine trail. Also, go with a group of friends. Have been fortunate to meet and get to know the winery owners and staff. Been doing the Hermann Wine Trail for several years, hope to attend for many more years! B. Clark

I was passing thru town a few months ago and stopped in this shop. Great fabric selection, friendly and helpful owner. I recently ordered yardage from her online, and had a great experience, fast and reasonable shipping (2 days! Wow). Looking forward to my next trip to Chesterfield so I can pass thru town again 🙂

What a beautiful place to stay. Had a family get together an we (my 2 children an I) stayed here and WOW absolutely stunning. Beds were super comfortable, very clean, FRIENDLY manager Teresa 😉. They even provide you with shower accessories (shampoos & body wash) everything was great. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. It is such a homie place..

Delicious breakfast, wonderful atmosphere, and kind, accommodating owners. Only negative is I wish the rooms were a bit more updated... It was specifically weird to not have the option for a shower.

For a bed and BREAKFAST I would've expected MUCH more for the meal. Everything there was mostly great value brands. Everything was do it yourself style. Packet hot chocolate, packet oatmeal, granola bar, white bread with off brand jelly, in plastic store bought Danish and tiny muffins...the building was pretty run down, paint chipped inside and outside, very hard water stained faucets, dusty grimey corners, old style decorated furniture appeared run down and dirty. Our room was very musty smelling. That being said our room appeared clean. And the location was very nice in town and close to everything. Not planning to go back.

We were saddened to hear of the past owner's passing, but were happy to see the Hertzog Mansion was puchased by a nice young family. They are nice enough, but I don't think the wife is as genuinely interested as the husband. They just acquired the place in January. It's a charming old home and I hope they come to enjoy hosting guests the way the previous owner used to.

Location is great for walking around Hermann. Mike and Chad are excellent hosts. Breakfast was delicious! Room was small but clean and beds were comfortable.

This was perfect walking distance to most of the places we wanted to visit. The room was cozy, big HOT shower, warm breakfast delivered to our room(with secluded getaway) extras like picnic pack for day-trip and anniversary/birthday cake was so nice. Thank you so much!

Our host was wonderful personable and very helpful and prioritizing our agenda. Location was excellent so we could walk to most of what we were seeing. Highly recommend! Breakfast were great with lots of protein.. The only thing I could suggest is a little more fresh fruit.

Fantastic bed & breakfast. The zinfandel room was amazing, and made for a great stay after a long day of wine and whiskey tastings. Breakfast was delicious and they'll even pack it up and drop it off at your door for breakfast in bed. The location is a block or two from the main streets so its nice and quiet with a 5 minute walk to most restaurants and shops. The owners are very kind and personable and made sure we had the best stay. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

We had a great weekend at Old Vine B&B. The breakfast was yummy and the room was comfortable. We loved being able to walk to downtown and the nearby Vineyards. Hosts were fabulous. Will stay again if we are ever in the area.

This was a great place to stay - perfect mix of historic charm and modern design. We stayed in the Chardonnay room and the bed was so comfortable. The house was decorated for the holidays inside and out, and breakfast was good. It's within walking distance of several wineries and distilleries. Be sure to stop by their store too!

We were unable to get into our room until we received a callback with the correct code for the electronic door lock. After that, the rest was good. The breakfast was very good and the hosts are friendly and helpful with lots of suggestions.

We had our family of 8 adults for a wedding over the weekend and the house location and accommodations were fantastic! Taylor was easy to work with and allowed us to check in a little early between the rehearsal and dinner which we greatly appreciated! We will come back here when we have another trip to Hermann!

This place was amazing! Well equipped kitchen and charmingly decorated. The communication between the staff was great and the accommodations were outstanding. Already planning to stay there again when we return. If you’re traveling to Hermann, MO this is the place to stay!

I can't say enough about how beautiful this home was. It was super comfortable and the host even left us a treat from Sugar Momma's- a pecan cheesecake, which was superb! Location was excellent and she even left us a few free tasting cards to Adam Puchta winery (which is wonderful!) There were a few seasonings in th cabinet and plenty of cookware ( and a corkscrew ) available. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What a beautiful home! I spent a weekend here with 3 girlfriends and this house was wonderful. Close enough to walk to town and the trolley stopped by to take us to the wineries. The house had everything we could need (the beds were so comfy!) and we were delighted with the cinnamon rolls left for our breakfast. We 100% recommend this for a Hermann getaway!

3 of my friends and I stayed at the 1910 Guesthaus for a bridal shower getaway and had a wonderful stay. We had easy access to the house with a keypad entry. We didn't really use the kitchen except to make coffee but it is beautiful and functional. We sat in the gorgeous yet comfy living room and chatted, and played "Would You Rather", which was a great time! The showers had plenty of hot water for all of us, and the beds were comfortable. Taylor was quick to respond to any questions we had and granted us access to the house a few hours early. This worked out perfectly for us to be able to drop our bags and hit the wineries. We highly recommend a stay in this beautiful house!

Had a lovely girls vacation celebrating my mom's birthday. Everything about the home was charming and cozy; the perfect little getaway to catch up on life together. The beds were all very comfortable and the cinnamon rolls were a yummy morning treat. Highly recommend!

1910 Guesthaus in Hermann, Missouri is an absolutely lovely place to stay. From the moment you step through the door, you feel relaxed and at home. The accommodations are beautiful, with unique and thoughtful touches that make every room feel special. The owners are incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing plenty of information about the area and recommendations for things to do and see. The guesthaus is centrally located, within walking distance of many delightful shops, restaurants, and wineries. Overall, I highly recommend a stay at 1910 Guesthaus if you're planning a visit to Hermann or the surrounding area. You won't be disappointed!

My friend and I visited Hermann for the day and thought we would visit the wineries and do some shopping. We went into the store to shop and while we were in there, I asked the clerk if there was a restroom. He hesitated before telling me that there was no restroom in the store and that I could use the restroom across the street in the museum. Afterwards, my friend and I decided to go downstairs to do some more shopping at which time I saw a restroom that did not have employees only posted. It actually had the symbol for men or women. The doors next to it did have employees only. Since it did not say employees only I took it upon myself to use the restroom. Needless to say we put our Items back and left the store. I don’t like to pull the race card, but I don’t know what else to say as my friend and I were African-American.

My husband and I visit this unique store every time we visit this quaint beautiful town. We always find something we have to buy! It's our favorite store in Hermann. Our daughter got married at Hermann Hill this last weekend, we stopped at this store as usual.We were talking to our daughter outside and the owner brought out a bottle of wine as a wedding gift. We thought that was so awesome! If you are in Hermann you must check out this shop. The owner is so very nice and you will find something unique!

I would spend all my money here if I could! Massive variety of wares, from kid games to whiskey despensers. And obviously garden decor. But not what you would find at a chain store! Everything is very unique! Will add photos next time I'm there.

This is an absolutely gorgeous boutique shop with the most unique home and garden items. Great place for gift ideas. The shop owner and Andi the dog are very friendly.

Very nice sourdough pastries. I got the three cheese and bacon and a raspberry rose soda. There is also a variety of items like chocolates, bitters, and drinks (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic) to choose from.

My husband and I both had the Bang Bang burger with Smokey fries. It was DELICIOUS!!! The food was AMAZING! The atmosphere great and what we saw on the menu only made us want to come back! Definitely recommend if you are in Hermann!

Downtown Deli is I would say my favorite place to eat in Hermann. They always have great food, and exceptional, quick service, very friendly staff, and their Ice Cream is beyond well worth the price, as their Waffle Cones are always stacked ridiculously high, making it a great overall value. Downtown Deli hits 5 stars on service, price, portion sizes, atmosphere, and quality. Definitely worth checking out.

I miss the days they didn’t have the chips as a necessary option with the meals. You used to be able to pick a burger and any of the sides. Personally, I am allergic to the ranch seasoning on the chips, so I cannot have them. I wish the burger would be a little cheaper because I never get the chips. I got so excited hearing the lady who took our order say we could switch out our side…. But it ended up being the full price of a new side. It’s silly to not allow trade outs without getting the full price of the new side. Please change it. This place was my favorite place to go.

The burgundy cherry ice cream was the best ice cream I have ever had. The burgers were cooked perfectly. We went 2 days in a row because we were so pleased with our first visit.

The double chocolate super malt was fantastic! (Made with custard.) Really fun talking with the staff. They also have hand dipped ice cream, but the custard is really worth trying!

Downtown Deli has amazing food and staff. They are always welcoming and friendly. It is a great place to come grab a bite to eat or to get many of their ice cream choices.

One of the best places to grab a quick lunch in Hermann. Great deli style sandwiches, chips, shakes and malts. The location is perfect and the employees were very helpful. The Reuben was fantastic so much so that I came back the next day and ordered it again!

My family has been meeting/staying at Spirit Hill Guest House every October for the last 9 years, it is by far the most beautiful house with the greatest views of Hermann and the river. Their gardens are enchanting and change every visit. The house is beautifully decorated and has all of the comforts you would expect. The owners Marsha and Gary make you feel like you are old friends and welcome you into their home. In additions they make great recommendations of new things to do or taste in the area. If you plan on staying in the Hermann area, you won't regret staying with them.

My friend and I stayed here a few years ago and had a fantastic experience. The views are gorgeous and the owners are super nice. They were having a family get together and made us feel welcome as we explored Hermann. Great amenities, peaceful setting, and amazing hosts. Definitely going to head back here.

My wife and I have been using VRBO for many years and have never been disappointed. Spirit Hill Guest House was by far our most outstanding getaway experience. We specifically searched for a getaway with an oversized tub and Spirit Hill Guest house delivered! Our hosts Marsha and Gary were gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset fire together with Gary and Marsha as we learned a bit of their history wuth their home. The setting for this rental is nestled into the banks of the Missouri river along the forested banks and makes for a truly romantic experience. The local wineries were the best MO wineries in the state. The local distilleries and breweries are also worth visiting while staying in Hermann at the Spirit Hill Guest House. We were never short on dining options and enjoyed the eclectic restaurant choices Hermann offered. There zero hesitation in making Spirit Hill Guest House a "must" consider when choosing where to stay in Hermann.

Gorgeous, super cozy, and meticulously maintained and clean. The owners are there to help however they can but also give complete privacy. In every way, we LOVED this place!!! So much so that we had a hard time wanting to leave it to experience the rest of Hermann. It's private and away from the main drag where all the potentially unwanted hustle and bustle is. Truly a gem that I almost don't want to tell others about, because if word gets out how awesome this place is, we might have a hard time booking! Our visit was PERFECT! By the way, not a bed "& breakfast." The cooking is up to you, but you have everything you need to make whatever you want, including a electric skillet and gas grill. Stayed in the Patio Suite, but got to see the rest of the place while hanging out with the owners for a bit after the other guests left, and it's all just incredible. Owner, Gary is quite the gardener and loves to share knowledge as well as plants and their seeds for you to start your own. Don't miss out. You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I took a mini-vacation after our overseas plans got cancelled due to Covid. Our last minute plans led us to stay in their Patio Suite and it was fantastic! Gary and Marsha made us feel right at home. This is the MOST SCENIC view of any B&B or hotel in Hermann (and we’ve been to three others). This will be our first choice whenever we come back.

Wish I would've taken pics! This place was worth every penny. Close to main street and everything the town had to offer. Still secluded enough to hang with friends in your own backyard with a great view and peace and quiet. The owners were very nice and accommodating. If your looking for something special and unique definitely don't miss the opportunity to stay here!!!

What a beautiful home. I married my best friend Chitha in Hermann and my parents rented the spirit house for the week. They had us over and showed how beautiful the house was they were staying at was. Highly recommended!

One of my favorite stops in hermann! the service was top notch and the flight selections were fun! we took home a couple of bottles and really liked the Cats Meow and Judges Heir! Will definitely be back again!

We did a tasting. They have a dry and sweet flight. Server was wonderful gave great ideas and information. Served in really glasses and you took them after your tasting. Winery #1 for us! Took 2 bottles home.

Wonderful experience!! My friend and I did the wine trolley for our shared birthdays and went twice in one day to the Adam Puchta winery. We were treated like royalty by chef Eric when he whipped up amazing food for us even though we arrived both times outside of the bistro hours (our mistake in timing). Not only did he accommodate us by opening up early and staying late, he treated us to a nice surprise. Exceptional service, wine, and food! This was definitely a highlight of our birthday celebration: someone going out of their way just to make our day special! We will definitely be back and tell everyone about this wonderful experience!

Wine was good, we did a tasting and bought a bottle. The brat, kraut and potato salad was really good too.

We LOVE this winery! The pours for the tasting are generous, and you even get to keep the glass! The employee serving was awesome, and friendly. We enjoyed the flat bread, and the pretzel was so good! Highly recommend the Cat's Meow slushy!!! Music was outstanding outside. We will be back!

We had a great time here this last weekend. We were doing the BBQ and berries wine trail. The outside seating was comfortable and loved the kitten hanging around. We both had slushies, it was perfect just people watching in the big tent outside. Of all the places on the wine trail this one was the most friendly and easiest to mill around. We will definitely hit it again.

Worst experience ever at a winery. $10 admission, for NOTHING!! They don't do tastings, say they serve food---only have hot dogs, brats and pizza!! Second rate local band, what a rip off! Napa isn't this horrible! Not to mention an 3rd rate road to get here, a bus nearly knocked us into a ditch!!! Your view is okay, but nothing special. Worst wine experience ever!!

Atmosphere and views are better than the wine. Wish we could have done a tasting to try others. Was very busy. The band was really good.

Our 1st and BEST stop along our self made wine trail and we loved it!! Walking in you don't expect the outcome from front to back and the view is uncanny! The staff was great, the drinks kept flowing and we even saw an engagement while sitting and enjoying our vino!! We "will not hesitate" to re-enter the grounds for another beautiful day of wine tasting and a landscape you can't beat in Illinois or anywhere for that matter!! 10 stars!!!

That's right, the Frog gives OakGlenn 5 stars! First time ever. It really checked off some boxes for me. Awesome views and excellent white port. I'm not much of a wine drinker I love the sweet stuff and only tried the white and red ports. Both were the best I have had in a while and not the $60 cost of Defiance Ridge. Great views, great tasting ports and fair prices. Really can't think of anything negative, other than the sign directing you to the property came up really fast. Maybe move that back half a mile. And turn on the ac in the men's bathroom.

Showed up to a mostly empty winery. Had a tasting with the owner of the vineyard. Ended up having a probably 2hr conversation with the sweetest little old lady. Will be back in October 25, hoping to see her again!

We recently went on the wine trail in Hermann, MO. Have been several times, but this was our first time here at OakGlenn. We wanted to do a tasting, and the person behind the tasting bar told us in an abrupt tone "It's $18, still want to do it?" Wellllll... we weren't sure, but said yes. It was definitely not worth that price! You got tiny little shot glass pours, and she didn't even talk about the wines. She really shouldn't be in customer service. The price of the wine is VERY expensive!! We didn't buy any wine after that experience, and left. Won't be back.

Out of all the Missouri wineries that I have been to, this one was the worst. It has a nice view in one area (see pictures), but the tasting room and the seating areas are rough. The service was with annoyed staff and much of the attitudes of the staff was not caring at all. I think they are tired of constant tourists or something ... at least that is what it felt like. The food is expensive and cheap quality. The wine was OK only and the beer is only Bud, Bud Light, etc. It is too bad that they don't help other local businesses and carry the town's local beer.

Wonderful wines! There were so many unique wines! & Louis, the owner was so kind & so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the wines & spending time outside enjoying a couple of glasses while my kiddos played in the yard! If you like unique & fruity wines with a low key atmosphere, you will love this winery! & the wine tastings are free. It doesn’t get any better, in my opinion

Do you like fruit wine, but hate that after taste? This wine is made from the fruit, if it’s lemon wine it’s all lemon. With exception to 2 wines the pecan & Jalapeño wine have raisin in with them. I take everyone that visits, and everyone I know here. The wine is exceptional. I have a hard time picking a favorite. But I could drink the lemon-lime wine all summer long. The drizzles are so tasty. Lois and Mark are wonderful people. I can’t wait to go back with my girls! THIS IS A MUST STOP, if you’re in Hermann Area. Don’t skip it!

Highly recommend! Wonderful owner-operator. Delicious fruit wines at very reasonable prices. Free tasting. Fantastic frozen wine slushy drinks. Also have several delicious cooking sauces. Pleasant property to sit and enjoy with friends and family. Indoor and outdoor seating. Small gravel lot/driveway area for parking at side of building.

Highly recommended for lovers of fruit wines. Large variety to pick from and all are done well. Wine slushies available, along with wine by the glass or bottle. They also have a few snack options available for purchase. Nice covered area to sit outside and drink your wine in a quiet setting.

We just had an exquisite wine tasting with Louis the owner. Their wines are very unique and that they are fruit based. Wonderful and unique wine tasting experience that I would highly recommend!

There's nothing I can say to properly do justice to this small winery in rural scenic Missouri. It was a fantastic experience. Each wine was like a little flavor explosion. The owner was a chef for many years and now specializes in creating unique wonderful fruit wines. This is NOT your uncle's homemade fruit wine! I purchased jalapeno raisin wine for cooking and drinking. It's surprisingly good for drinking as just a glass of wine. I can't wait to use it in my chili and a bloody mary. Lemon lime wine, blueberry wine and two bottles of pecan wine were added to my purchase. Yes, Pecan. The owner also makes sauces and they were delicious. I bought two bottles of pineapple habanero. I"m looking forward to experiencing all of them. I believe online ordering is available and I'll be taking advantage of that.

They have real fruit wines and NO GRAPES WINE. Some of them taste great. First time I like other wines except grape ones. They have some jalapeños and spicy 🌶 wines. Bought one for cooking food, that taste so yummy and spicy 🤤. They let you taste their wines for free. I would recommend this place to others.

Stepping into Dierberg Star Lane Three Saints was like stepping into wine country magic. Larry guided our tasting with the perfect balance of knowledge, humor, and passion. His stories behind each Missouri and California pour made us appreciate every sip that much more. The wines? Absolutely exceptional bold reds, crisp whites, and a few new favorites I can’t wait to share with friends back home. This is the kind of place where you linger longer than planned, soaking in every note, every laugh, every moment.

Larry and Liz were great during our visit today! We had so much fun while learning about the process at the same time. They both went above and beyond to make sure our experience was as pleasant as possible. Not to mention the wines were all very tasty. We will definitely be back for more!

I was in Hermann for the weekend with my boyfriend. We had a wonderful time here. The staff was super friendly and informative. She told us a lot about where the wine comes from and how one type differs from another. It was such a great time. We bought a few bottles and may have even found a new favorite wine. Definitely worth stopping by on your wine tasting trip!

We had an amazing time with Charlene! The wine was so great and she provided background and insight into each wine we tasted. I will be recommending this tasting room to all my friends! The atmosphere was perfect for my birthday.

Liz completely made our day! She was so accommodating of our group of 9. She provided amazing history, context and descriptions of each wine origin. We loved learning about the history of the Dierberg family in Hermann. This was a much needed and appreciated stop to provide diversity in the wines we were tasting all day. Such a treat! We ended up buying a case too!

Great experience. Definitely the best winery in Hermann! Our server Collin really made the experience!! Friendly, and nowledgable about every wine available! Nice find among wineries offering only local wine this winery offers a variety of California wines. I don't about you but when the choice is a 4 hour drive to a beautiful little town versus a 4 hr ($$$) plane ride to Napa... I'm all in for the road trip to Hermann. I get the midwest wines and the Napa Valley experience In one!

Went for a private wine tasting, to celebrate mine and my friend's birthday and had the most wonderful time. Larry was so kind, knowledgeable and fun. He definitely made the experience great. The charcuterie boards were just perfectly put together and the sweet sausage in smoked cheese were phenomenal. I highly suggest and recommend the vignoles** and rose wines that we had. Cannot thank you all enough. 10/10!!!

Booked a last minute stay in Hermann in the Monet room. It had everything we needed and truly lovely! The deck was a wonderful place to hang out in the evening.

I had such a wonderful experience here. My mom and I stopped in for an acrylic pour while we were visiting Hermann and it was so much fun! The owner was so kind and accommodating to my mom and I. The owner was even willing to ship our acrylic pours to our homes for us. This was a relief since we were traveling by plane and train. If you get a chance to stop by the studio or participate in an event there, I recommend it. You will not regret it.

We had a wonderful time here. They had art available for purchase and you can even make your own. The owner is laid back and wants people to have fun. We did the pours but they have ceramic painting, paint your own and more. We look forward to returning!

I did not stay here but wish I would have! We did a paint and sip with this establishment and it was wonderful. The owner was kind and helpful, and very warm and inviting. She also showed us around the rooms and was so passionate about what she had built and I just love it! Next time we come to Hermann we will be staying here!

The wines were ok, but not $40/bottle quality. The tasting for $14 was pretty sad with barely a sip per pour. Service was meh, with no real explanations and no rinsing between. Oh well, we’ll just skip it next visit to Hermann.

Our second trip in 4 months to Hermann from Dallas. We love this town and the people who make it so charming. We came back to G. Hussman because we found some wines we liked and this time even brought my mom. Sandy was behind the counter again and after some talking, she even remembered us! Definitely 5 stars for wonderful wines and team members that take the time to get to know their customers. Fantastic!

The wine was fine, but our group was disappointed by how we were treated by the bar tender. We are in our 30s and 40s and felt judged by our age. We came in with two older groups at the bar sampling wine in glasses. We were greeted and given a sample of their wine cocktail. My husband asked for a second so we didn’t have to share with the other couple and she seemed appalled and said they are trying to save on plastic waste. We ordered 4 wine flights of five wine tastings each. While the other two groups were served in wine glasses and well attended, she gave us 20 plastic sample cups. Didn’t seem to be saving on plastic as she had just told us. It was very uncomfortable from start to finish in how we were treated compared to the other people in the tasting room. A shame to start our wine tour here.

Really nice atmosphere. The design is great and really lovely. We purchased one tasting to split, and we were given one glass. We split tastings often and this is the first time this has ever happened to us. In fact we had just been to Hermanhoff, where we were given a glass each for our split tasting without being asked. We asked about it at G. Husmann and the somewhat brusque reply was, “one tasting, one glass” so that was fun. Other than that, a really lovely tasting room, with a nice menu of California/Missouri blends. If you are helped by someone with better customer service it will be an amazing experience.

Made a quick stop in Hermann over the weekend and decided to sample 2 of the G. Husmann dry whites, and 3 of the reds. I was pleased to know this location specialized in drys that offer crisp finishes and clarity to the notes. The gentleman behind the bar was very informative and we had a nice conversation about the history of how the winery came to be. The blending of Mo. and Ca. grapes was very pleasing to my pallet. Enough so that a few bottles followed me home. Planning on heading back in a few weeks for round 2.

They have wine flights for $12 and you can try 5 wines. You can choose from a red or white flight. The blackberry rhapsody was my favorite!

This fairly new place should do well in Hermann. They have a nice tasting room and great patio with excellent views. As for the wine, we'll just say its different, but in a good way. I grew up drinking Missouri wine and then 'graduated' to Cali wines. This place takes grapes from both regions and creates some really interesting blends. If I recall, they use cab franc and nebbiolo from CA and norton and chamboursin from MO on the reds. They also have some white wines and a sparkling wine. I regret not taking a pic of the wine list, but I will next time.
