Park
Nature & Parks
Ellanor C. Lawrence Park, situated in the Chantilly community of Fairfax County, is a 650-acre park offering a variety of attractions. It features four miles of interconnected trails that wind through lowlands, woods, and meadows. The park also provides access to the Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail near Cabell's Mill, offering over three additional miles of hiking opportunities on different surfaces including asphalt and stone dust.
Beautiful park with several looping trails to explore. Benches are thoughtfully placed along the paths, offering peaceful spots to sit and take in the natural surroundings. There are also picnic tables available, perfect for enjoying a meal outdoors.
Lisa M — Google review
Beautiful small park with nicely maintained walking trails. I visited the park right after 4+ inches of dry powdery snow, the whole park was picture perfect and scenic. Parts of the trail are near route 28th, one can hear the traffic. The trails are wide and easy, there is not much of elevation change. Part of the trail runs besides a stream the trails are designed as multiple small loops.each loop is around half a mile. The park is split in half by a street. The pond was cordoned by wire mesh, and is not visible. I am assuming this is done for safety reasons during winter.
Atul K — Google review
The park offers scenic wooded trails that wind through peaceful forests, meadows, and a small pond. The well-marked paths are suitable for all ages, with chances to spot wildlife like deer and birds. It’s a serene and educational nature spot, complete with historical sites and a visitor center. Multiple free Parking options are available.
Jaheed A — Google review
Awesome park. Trails are really nice with big and long trees, streams, there is a pond and more importantly they are accessible. The visitor center has some cool habitants (Snakes, Turtles and fish) inside, lot of butterflies outside and kids gonna love them watching all day. The rangers in the visitor center are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this park for any time of the day.

🌳 Overview – A Natural Escape in Suburban Chantilly Ellanor C. Lawrence Park is one of the finest nature preserves in Northern Virginia. It offers a rare combination of history, tranquility, and natural beauty just minutes from bustling neighborhoods and highways. 🚶 Trails and Scenery – Something for Every Nature Lover The trail system is well-marked and diverse, offering paved and unpaved paths through forests, meadows, and around a serene pond. The variety makes it accessible for everyone—from casual walkers to serious hikers. Wildlife sightings are common and always a treat. 🏛️ History and Education – A Living Classroom The Walney Visitor Center adds depth to the park experience. Located in a historic farmhouse, it showcases the area’s cultural and environmental history. The interpretive exhibits and park rangers make this more than just a nature walk—it’s a learning experience. 🧺 Amenities and Family-Friendliness There are well-maintained picnic areas, benches, and restrooms. Programs for kids and families are often held on-site, making this a great spot for weekend outings or low-key outdoor birthdays. The park is clean, safe, and inviting for all age groups. 📸 Photography and Wildlife – A Visual Treasure If you're a photographer or just love observing nature, this park is a goldmine. Birds, deer, turtles, and insects abound—along with seasonal changes that transform the landscape throughout the year. It’s perfect for both casual shots and professional photo sessions. 🚗 Parking – The Only Minor Drawback The one area that can be a bit tricky is parking. The lot is not very large and tends to fill quickly on weekends and nice-weather days. Arriving early or visiting during off-peak times helps. There are overflow options, but they may require a short walk. ⭐ Final Thoughts – A Five-Star Experience Despite the limited parking, Ellanor C. Lawrence Park is easily a five-star destination. It’s well-maintained, deeply peaceful, and has a strong sense of place.
Ravi S — Google review
Easy, lots of things to see, trails are nice and well maintained. Visitor center has a garden patch, covered picnic tables, and bee farm that's open to the public.

Quite a popular park for residents around Chantilly area. There are quite a few trails in the park and the park is beautiful during spring, summer and fall. I frequent this place for a serene walk, would recommend others too.

Arrowhead Park, located behind an elementary school in Centreville, offers well-maintained lighted fields for soccer, football, and baseball. The park features bleachers, restroom facilities, and walking paths connecting the fields. It is a popular spot for local tournaments and sports organizations often rent the fields. The turf is in great condition and the availability of lights allows for games to continue into the night.
Nice turf soccer fields for SYA and other leagues. Lights available. Football goals and soccer goals permanent and moveable. Fields are in good condition as is striping. Small parking lot at Google location or you can park at the school and there are two paths to walk from there parking lot.
Kristin H — Google review
Great fields Clean grounds, I have had the pleasure play at Arrowhead fields lots of times for our Thursday FXA league. Really nice when you have lots of fields to play and it's always busy there lots of kids and after school program teaching soccer ⚽️. The parking situation it can be better but on some nights it's hard to find parking you could double park . Keep up the great work .
Noor A — Google review
Low key spot that has ideal turf fields to host soccer games. I'm a ref that has visited many fields and this is one of the better facilities, but it can only run a few games at the same time.
Ryan L — Google review
Nice fields. Lots of parking, even if it's a bit of a walk.
Nathan W — Google review
It was my first time visiting this park for a tournament. Parking was very difficult when I arrived. It took us a while to find parking. The fields are very confusing and small. It's not my favorite place, but it's also not too bad that I wouldn't come back.
Jose A — Google review
Soccer America for one of the grandkids. Well maintained fields. Arkington can be tight at times.
Red R — Google review
Beautiful park with many turf, soccer fields, and other sports fields. The turf is really well maintained and there are lights that allow players to play well into the night. Gravel parking lot and porta potties offer easy access and a place to use the restroom close to the fields. Many local sports organizations will rent the fields and it's a great place to come and meet people for a game.

American restaurant
Sweetwater Tavern, a popular Centreville restaurant with a cowboy theme, offers delicious Southwestern cuisine and freshly brewed beer. Owned by Great American Restaurants, this outpost has been satisfying customers for nearly three decades. The funky and bustling space creates an authentic American dining experience. Whether you're craving burgers or barbecue, Sweetwater Tavern serves up flavorful dishes quickly using fresh ingredients. In addition to meat options, they also offer delectable seafood and vegetarian choices on their menu.
The interior layout was similar to the Sterling branch. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. And we ordered drunken ribeye, crab cakes, filet mignon, two hamburgers, and red wine as mains. It was the first time in a long time that I had a delicious steak. The food was overall delicious, and the waitress's kindness made our dinner enjoyable.

Hadn’t been to Sweetwater in years, so it was great to see another Great American restaurant still around. The food was amazing, compliments to the chef whoever made my salmon I asked for medium rare it came as such & was fabulous would highly recommend. We also got the oyster salad special they had and we tried the crabcake special that they had, all very savory and good. Shout out to our server Phil, who took care of us the entire time and of course gotta give out a shout out to the Augy rolls that we love the most. Great visit back to a DMV staple.
AB R — Google review
This was one of my favorites when I lived in NOVA, as it just brings back nostalgic memories of my friends and the service is consistently phenomenal. Naturally, I brought my mom here during my visit home. We got the crab cakes and steak combination, special of the day (red snapper), sangria, and sides of broccolini and loaded potato. All were great, but mom is older and complained that it was too salty. I thought so too. SIT INDOORS. My biggest complaint is the environment, as they sat us outdoors despite our preference and we got bitten all night by mosquitoes. It’s a nice outdoor space, but it requires some sort of bug repellant. I feel like I shouldn’t have visited, as I stare at my swollen, polka dotted legs. Ugh!

30MAY2025 Me and my mates first time here and what a wonderful choice. I had the rockfish on polenta special. The rockfish was prepared to perfection as it was resting on the most buttery, delicious polenta I’ve ever had. Service was an awesome tag team of outstanding staff. This place was jumping and humming during the late ⏰ lunch hour. The parking lot was full. As soon as me and my mate walked in we were greeted and seated immediately.🧡 We sat down and menus appeared instantaneously(staff was prompt)we ordered our drinks(not a long wait on that)ordered our food and seems as a blink of our eyes, our foods was being served. My pics will speak to you. There are 3 locations of Sweetwater Tavern, check them out.
Spiral T — Google review
First time visit. If you have a shrimp allergy let them know at the beginning. Per wait staff they are a seafood restaurant and there are many items you cannot have. Lobster Bisque which I love they put shrimp in it. Most fried foods are fried in one basket so the Southwestern Egg Rolls were out. I could have fries because they do fry those in a separate basket. The bread and rolls with honeybutter were delicious! I had a bbq bacon burger and matchstick fries. Both were good. I would go again just because of the nice atmosphere. I also liked that they have outdoor seating on a covered patio with an outdoor entrance. They have a lovely statue in front and if you drive to the rear near the patio entrance there is two magical cascading waterfalls that were so peaceful and serene. I was amazed at how beautiful it was, like an oasis tucked in the corner! There was a nice breeze going on and even if for a few minutes I was in a happy place!!! The waitress was in training but she still did a great job. She was quite attentive and checked back in often. Everyone else was also helpful and aa soon as a dish was done someone from the wait staff approached and asked if it was okay to remove the dish. Great visit! You should check them out!

Tonights meal was spectacular! My bartender was Aaron, and he was top-notch through his attentiveness and positivity. My mixed greens salad, filet mignon, grilled broccolini and the corn, tomato, cucumber salad were all so fresh and perfectly prepared. Kudos to the kitchen staff! 🙌

Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious, the menu had a fabulous variety and you must save room for their yummy desserts!

We had the drunken ribeye medium well which came with a salad and potato as sides. Everything was amazing, including the bread which came with a white sauce not sure of the name but I loved it. For desert we had a chocolate waffle which was a great combo with the ice cream it came with. I wish we had one of these in NY Also our server Lia was amazing 👏 10/10 recommend

Cinemark Centreville is a modern movie theater complex with multiple screens, stadium seating, and self-service ticketing kiosks. It primarily showcases newly released Hollywood movies with digital video and sound, offering 3D experiences in some auditoriums along with various promotions. While some visitors have noted issues like restroom maintenance and occasional mishaps such as malfunctioning recliners or delayed light adjustments during screenings, the staff is generally described as polite.
My children and I had a lovely experience. We enjoyed our first time at this movie theatre. The reclining seats were so comfy! Customer service was top tier from the moment we came in to the moment we left. We can’t wait to come back!
Jesenia C — Google review
I took the kids to a show on one of the hottest days of the year. The theater smelled faintly like a public restroom, and the AC wasn't nearly strong enough. The people who work there are friendly and helpful, but I will probably go to a different cinema next time.
Benjamin K — Google review
I received amazing service from David at the concession counter. He was super friendly and helpful! Andre and Kevin also were amazing!! I’ve been coming here for years and the service has always been great.
Stacia P — Google review
Management here was great, but the audience we encountered during our film was absolutely awful. We ended up leaving the movie halfway through. I'd be hesitant to return to this location if their moviegoers are continuously hell-bent on being disruptive.
Gold_queen_dragon — Google review
Very nice, loved the concession stand. Loved the popcorn container with the drink holder., and the different sizes. The seats were very comfortable also.

This cinema is very spacious, comfortable and with a variety of food and snacks. It has a large parking lot. Its staff is friendly and attentive. All areas look clean and tidy. Its rooms are very comfortable, quiet and clean. Recommended to go with children and friends. I’m sure we’ll be back very soon!
J G — Google review
Fair price. The screen and sound is good quality. Minus 1 star for cleanliness. Friend sat on some melted chocolate on the seats. Also ordered concessions ahead of time expecting it to be brought to us in the auditorium but never received. I had to pick it up myself right before movie started.

Shopping mall
Centreville Square II Shopping Center is a premier neighborhood shopping destination that includes both Centreville Square and Centreville Square II. It offers a variety of shops, dining options, and ample parking. Visitors can find well-stocked stores like PetSmart and enjoy diverse cuisine options including Southeast Asian, Indian, and Kabob restaurants. The center also features Lil Thingmangthings for Korean products. Despite being busy, parking is usually available for shoppers.
A sizable retail complex featuring numerous retail outlets and dining establishments, including famous bakeries such as Paris Baguette and Shilla Patisserie Cafe, Lotte Plaza Supermarket, Tio’s, and various other enterprises, alongside an expansive central parking area. However, due to heavy traffic, parking may present a challenge during peak lunch and dinner hours, as well as on weekends. Its proximity to I-66 facilitates convenient accessibility.
Patrick M — Google review
I do not like the layout of this shopping center. It has a small parking area. It has two sided buildings and is divided in to several different stores. If you are going to a specific store that is great but if you need to go to several stores the layout is not good. The traffic flows is bad because of the layout. The shopping center does have good stores and I do go here on occasion because of either convince or need to go to a certain store.
Mike V — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ 4/5 I recently visited Centreville Square II in Centreville, VA, and overall I had a good experience. The shopping center is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. There are a nice variety of stores that make it convenient — whether I’m stopping in for groceries, picking up household items, or grabbing a bite to eat. Parking was plentiful, which is always a plus, and the layout made it easy to find what I needed without wandering too much. What stood out was the friendly customer service at several shops; people seemed genuinely helpful. The only downside was that at peak times, traffic in and out of the complex slows down, and a few of the stores I wanted to visit were closed earlier than I expected. I’d definitely return, especially during off‐peak hours. It’s a great local spot for everyday errands.
Duke H — Google review
Ate at Mazar Kabob. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and caring to my food allergies (No Dairy, No Gluten) I had chicken kabob with salad, brown rice, chick peas and spinach, white mayonnaise sauce. Restaurant was clean, great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Park
Cub Run Stream Valley Park is a sprawling 800-acre wooded space offering various activities such as running, biking, and even a simple playground. The lush valley features wide paved trails, older narrow trails, and unpaved paths winding through marshy lowlands and wetland woods. The area is teeming with loud birds in the spring and vibrant bluebells along the stream. Despite being near water, there are few biting bugs.
The trail is very clear of trash and conveniently paved over (at least the part I walked). It seemed pretty safe and there weren't a whole lot of people there, so it was a relaxing time. There's also a couple cool historical markers along the way, including one for some remaining pre civil war bridge abutments. Love the combination of nature and local history!
Jack S — Google review
Nice, extensive trails that lead to different communities. There are a couple of spots where it may flood (especially just East of the Cub Run stepping stone crossing). The walk along the marsh is nice, I wish the trail was just slightly more elevated by a few inches in this area.
Greg — Google review
Walking, Running, and Biking lowlands paradise. There's a gorgeous mix of wide, beautiful, smooth paved trails, and narrower older trails, and unpaved trails. It all runs through low marshy country, a mix of wetlands woods. The birds are *really* loud on a spring morning, and the bluebells turn the entire side of the stream blue. There's plenty of weird interesting bugs - but not a ton of the biting ones despite the water, which is nice. Safe, pretty, and long, with loads of entries into really gorgeous neighborhoods if you get bored with nature and want to look at nice houses with lovely gardens.
Anne T — Google review

The Google pin 📌 does not take you to a location with parking. If you are driving to this park, put in the intersection of Lambeth Lane and Paddington Lane in Centreville, VA and you'll come to a residential where street parking is allowed. Not all the surrounding streets have non-resident street parking so read the signs in the area. Once you get on the trail, it's an easy, paved trail that is perfect for walks, runs, strollers and dog walking. It's relatively short- around 1 mile one way.
Grace M — Google review
Not a bad trail. Little sketchy when starting from the main Braddock road entrance. Once you get going though nature takes over and makes a nice walk. Saw a ton of animals and bugs. Will definitely use this as a running spot in the future.

This was my first time on the trail. It had parts that were flat and some that were steep hills. I was on my bike so it was a challenge for me. It's nice to have nature so close by.

Absolutley wonderful series of hiking trails - great scenery, quiet and peaceful. More picturesque than the battlefields (which are a bit drab) and unlike Bull Run, totally free.

Parents receive regular feedback from the instructors after each lesson, and scheduling is highly flexible through their app.
The coaches and the staff at Aqua Tot are great. We are glad we entrusted them being our child's coach. We have been bringing our son to this swimming pool for about three years. The staff and instructors are very kind and usually quite experienced. However, one major issue is that the experienced instructors tend to leave quickly, and we are forced to change our son’s instructor frequently. We wish the facility would implement a better plan to retain its experienced teachers, allowing the children to complete their courses more smoothly and enhance their learning experience.

Special thanks to Janet & Chelsey for always comforting my toddler though a tough transition from swimming with me to only being with instructors. Shout out to the instructors and other staff that were patint with my toddler. It seam like an uphill battle but i let them do there thing. ultimately my toddler got used to swimming with out me and was having fun. This has been a great experience for my older son and toddler.

Our 9 month old started swim lessons recently and is absolutely obsessed. He has a blast and he’s learning some great techniques to safely stay afloat. The instructor is very knowledgeable and makes us comfortable with our baby in the pool.

I signed my son up for lessons at this location, and I'm so pleased that I did. We recently purchased a home with a pool, and my water loving 2 year old needed some safety lessons before summer. We have just had four lessons and he is already floating almost independently on his back. I couldn't be happier with the progress, the coaches, or the professionalism. Brand new clean facilities, and a strong safety based curriculum makes this a great place to go.

We LOVE our coach (Miss Jazmin!) She makes both my son & I feel at ease throughout class, even when he’s struggling or feeling nervous about being in the water. We’re welcomed at the door every single week by David, who ALWAYS smile & gives encouragement to my two-year-old. Even the coach teaching the class above ours is super friendly & goes out of her way to speak with us. Beyond the incredible customer service, the facilities are spotless. We love our weekly visit to Aqua Tots! :)

Virginia Chase County Park offers a delightful opportunity for nature lovers to immerse themselves in the great outdoors. The park features a 30-minute hiking trail that connects Braddock Rd to Aubrey Patent Dr, following the picturesque Big Rocky Run. Visitors can revel in the amazing views and beautiful scenes while enjoying a very enjoyable walk through this lovely park.
Very good hiking beautiful nature
Jacob W — Google review
This is no longer Virginia Chase County Park. It has been renamed Rocky Run Stream Valley Park (Google will not change it even though I provided evidence and a picture of the sign). It is not a park where you park your car in a lot and go out and enjoy nature. It is a local resident, within walking distance from their home type of trail. The main part of the trail connects Aubrey Patent Dr and Braddock Rd. It runs behind a subdivision and follows Big Rocky Run. The southern part of the trail from Aubrey Patent Dr will branch off away from Big Rocky Run to either follow behind another subdivision and ending at apartments, or through a very wet and boggy sewer or gas right-of-way beneath a canopy of trees that ends close to route 29. It is not well maintained by the county, as there are fallen trees, overgrown vegetation that blocks most parts of the trail. While nice for a little 30 minute hike for residents, it is not a destination park. Do not let the "popular times" bar graph fool you. I've walked it many times and I was the only person on the trail, yet the popular times bar graph was up to the maximum point. It must also pick up people's location in their homes surrounding the park, as some are very close to the trails. *UPDATE* as of mid June 2024 it is not very well maintained, as usual. Overgrown trail, branches, tall grass, fallen trees. Fairfax calls this a "park" but refuses to keep it up on a regular basis. It is sad, it is a nice trail but the upkeep has lacked in the past few years. ATV tracks from obvious locals that have an ATV, broken entrance barriers, tire tracks from trucks that make deep tire ruts on the sides adding to creek sedimentation, locals bring vehicles beyond the broken barriers to do whatever. It is such a lost and forgotten park and trail system. *Update mid-October 2024: Looks like they have not mowed or maintained the park/trail since my June 2024 update. How sad, it used to be a nice casual hike. Added two pictures of weeds past my knees. It was not an enjoyable walk. There are not many Fairfax County Parks that are nice anymore.

This park is not maintained and you will need to cross a creek through the water. Make sure you have water proof shoes to cross it. Just go to one the parks nearby which are nicer and maintained.

Chalet Woods Park is a great spot for a leisurely picnic with family and friends. The park features basketball and tennis courts for friendly matches. It offers playground facilities in great shape, including swings and slides that kids love. There's also a small community garden, perfect for spending time with the little ones. Additionally, visitors can explore the woods on a beaten path leading to a nice creek or enjoy biking around the area.
Nice park, took my 1.5 year old there and he had a blast running around the tennis courts throwing balls and running into the edge of the woods trying to get poison ivy. The playground was in great shape, he loved the swings, both of the baby swings, and he even tried to get on both of the big kid swings too. He made sure he tested out all three slides several times also. It was kinda nice that we were the only ones there, but my son would've probably liked to have some other kids to chase around. I don't know why it was so deserted, it's a gorgeous day on a Saturday afternoon between 12 and 1pm, I would've expected lots of kids there.

Pretty awesome courts! 3 tennis courts, and they have 2 pickleball nets. They have lights. But, I heard because of noise complaints the county shut them off. You have to ask permission to get them turned on at night.

The venue boasts a beautiful setting with vineyard views, ample picnic tables, and an adults-only patio. Additionally, the winery features picturesque grounds with plenty of outdoor seating options.
My friend and I had our first-ever wine tasting at The Winery at Bull Run, and it was unforgettable. We were lucky to be served by Elle. she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and fun! She explained the wines beautifully and even shared some fun facts that made the experience extra special. We loved it so much, we ended up buying a bottle of the Delaney such a delightful wine! The winery itself is beautiful, with plenty of seating and super chill vibes. There was a live band playing while we were there, and it added so much to the atmosphere. Some ladies and couples were dancing, it was actually so fun to watch and be part of! Highly recommend visiting, and if you get Elle, you’re in for a treat! 🍷🎶

We came here for a friend’s birthday and had the best time! The full wine tasting was so good and Shirley did such an amazing job with helping us out, we (notorious white wine drinkers) even purchased some reds!! The vineyard was so beautiful and so worth the drive from DC. There was a food truck and pizza shop which were so convenient to dull the buzz from the tasting. We’ll definitely be back!
Taja K — Google review
Dude, the Winery at Bull Run is freaking sweet. First off, the wine—holy crap—it’s like they took grapes, made them classy, and then made them awesome. I don’t even like sharing, but I’d almost let Kenny have a sip. Almost. They’ve got so many kinds of wine it’s like a Pokémon thing—you just want to try them all. The staff? These people actually know what they’re talking about. You ask them something about tannins or vintage, and they don’t look at you like you’re a moron. They’re nice too, which is weird, because usually people who know stuff act all fancy. And the outdoor setup? Perfect. You can sit there, crush one of their house pizzas, and sip your wine while pretending you’re better than everyone else. It’s like adult Disneyland but with less screaming kids and more Merlot. 10 out of 10. Would go again, unless Kyle’s there, because he ruins everything.

I recommend this winery for the decent ambiance and nice staff. You can find a wine to your liking, I’m sure! Airing of Grievances: Their website says live music at 5, but it didn’t start till 6:30. Also, their mulled wine was lukewarm-come on, now!

Caught the sunset here for a friend’s birthday celebration. It was really nice. This was my first time at a winery and I wasn’t disappointed. The heated tents were a major plus considering the cold temperatures. We enjoyed muddled wine as well. Everything was clean and organized with thorough signs and instructions. Parking was easy. There were even places for adults to bring their kids and they host several events and there was live music happening too. It seems very accommodating. The wine tasting was cute and affordable. We learned about the Norton grape of VA. I wasn’t impressed by the tastes of Bull Run but I still enjoyed the experience. They even let you keep the wine glasses. Meghan was the curator and was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely come back here and I would recommend others to come as well. It was a beautiful evening.

Cox Farms, a family-owned farm located in western Fairfax County, is a popular destination known for its annual fall festival and family-friendly activities. The farm offers a variety of attractions including a petting zoo with friendly animals, a market selling fresh produce and flowers, and seasonal events. During the fall season, visitors can enjoy pumpkin patches, hayrides, corn mazes with horror themes, and other immersive experiences suitable for all ages.
Wow, this place is truly amazing. I brought my 18 month old daughter and we had the best time. We were there for several hours and still didn’t get to see or do everything just because there was so MUCH to do. My favorite thing was the hay ride. It was such a fun and interactive attraction. My daughter loved seeing and petting the horses during the ride. We also loved the apple cider and ice cream. The place was very clean, there were no lines for things, and ALL of the employees were absolutely wonderful. I can’t say enough good things. We will definitely go again!
Emily T — Google review
We visited Cox Farms last October during the Halloween season with our family. At that time, our baby was only seven months old. The farm is really big and full of photo spots—background boards, themed walls, and several small pumpkin patches where you can take nice family pictures. There are also tons of slides in different sizes. From our experience, Cox Farms is most suitable for kids two years and older up to adults. For toddlers who can already walk and run, this place is truly a paradise—so many fun activities and interactive areas to explore. For babies who can’t walk yet, the entertainment value is limited, but it’s still a good outing if you want pictures and the festive atmosphere. We drove from Arlington, which took us a little over an hour. Parking on-site is free, which is a plus. Since we went on a weekend, it was very crowded—imagine a sea of families everywhere. Inside, there’s also a food court where you can grab meals, snacks, and drinks. Another nice touch: they offer free apple cider, which is a sweet treat during the fall season. 🍎🍂 Overall, if you go during weekends or holidays, expect big crowds, but it’s definitely worth visiting at least once—especially if you have energetic toddlers or older kids! 🎃

Cox Farm is a great place to spend time with family and enjoy fun slides, fresh apple cider donuts, apple cider, and apples. We went on a Thursday, but it was still pretty packed, and we had to wait in long lines to enjoy most of the activities. With your ticket, you get a small pumpkin as a souvenir, which is a nice touch. There’s also plenty of parking available.

We came on Sunday Oct 19 with family members to the Fall Festival. The weather was perfect, and there were crowds of young families here. We were impressed by the great organization and facilities. Plenty of tables and benches for us grandparents to sit on, lots of places selling really good food, and the cleanest porta-potties I’ve ever seen! Be prepared for lots of walking over somewhat uneven ground in places. Don’t miss the wagon ride; it was so much fun!

Nature & Parks
Bull Run Regional Park, located in Centreville, Virginia, spans 1,500 acres and offers a wide range of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore wooded hiking areas and open fields or cool off at the Atlantis Waterpark with its various water slides and splash zones. The park also features a section of the Bull Run Occoquan Trail for hiking enthusiasts.
Hella clean and almost too neatly landscaped for a camping site. Employees are absolutely lovely and very accommodating. Super family friendly. If you're into camping with electric, an available bathroom/shower, AND A LAUNDRY (with a laundry sink too 😯) this might be your jam. There's a lot of stuff for the kiddos, but it's still pretty quiet. If you love a traditional CAMPING camp experience, this might be your own personal hell. If digging your own loo isn't for you, this is a great midpoint in between.

The Christmas lights event was the highlight of this park. The drive through the Christmas lights was quite spectacular and delightful, reminiscent of the good times spent with family and friends.. after that we stopped by the fair, where there were many activities such as participating in games including shooting air-soft guns, breaking glass bottles and mini basketball. (which were probably rigged). They also had a Ferris wheel and those float up slides. My favorite part was the petting zoo, there were camels, goats, cows and ever axolotl. Overall a very fun experience but a very overpriced one.
Justin J — Google review
The park is massive which is unsurprising since it is a camping area, it has a water park and trails. For me, I visit parks for their playgrounds. Bull Run has three. The first two are close to the entrance with the bigger one being the first you see as you enter the grounds. That one has climbing equipment, slides and swings. Restrooms near that playground are closed for the season. The second playground is tiny with one slide and swings. The third which is the red and yellow one seen on photos, is the one more designated for campers. Great for older children but not so much for toddlers. Check out my page for playgrounds across NOVA! Instagram and Tik Tok is thenovaparentguide.

Bull Run Regional Park, is like a really expansive outdoor playground with a bit of everything packed in. It's the kind of place you go when you want to spend a whole day outside. You've got miles of trails that seem perfect for a good hike or even a longer trek on the Bull Run Occoquan Trail. In the spring, I hear the bluebells are incredible – that sounds like a must-see. Then there's the whole waterpark aspect with Atlantis – that's a big draw, especially in the summer if you have kids (or just want to cool off!). Beyond that, they've got the more active stuff like the disc golf course and even a shooting center, which is something you don't find at every park. For a more relaxed time, there are plenty of picnic shelters scattered around, making it ideal for group gatherings. And if you want to make it a weekend trip, the campground looks pretty well-equipped with different types of sites and even cabins. It seems like Bull Run Regional Park is a place that caters to a wide range of interests, whether you're into nature, sports, or just having a fun day outdoors. It's large enough that you can find your own space and have a different experience each time you visit. Definitely seems like a regional gem.

Went to the bull run festival of lights in mid November. Pretty busy and the lights were ok but definitely won't be back for that.its insane how much money they are bringing in from that event and it's still very spread out light decorations that are skimpy.

We had a great stay at Bull Run. The site was level and made of great packed gravel. We experienced a large storm with no issues to our pad. Our site was well situated for getting in and out of the park. The roads were easy to navigate with plenty of places to unhook the toad. The park offered a waterpark with two slides and plenty of hiking and walking for the dogs. They also had their own disc golf couse. We camped at Bull Run Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Review for Bull Run Regional Park I recently went camping at Bull Run Regional Park with my 4-year-old, and it turned out to be such a great memory for us. The campground was peaceful, well-maintained, and perfect for families. The bathrooms were clean and easy to access, which made the stay even more comfortable. There was plenty to do — from exploring the trails to enjoying the open spaces for play and relaxation. My little one had an amazing time, and it was a great way to unplug and just enjoy nature together. Overall, Bull Run Regional Park is a fantastic spot for family camping. Clean, fun, and full of simple moments that make lasting memories. I’m already looking forward to going back!

Really fun! I hadn't been since I was a kid and I took my daughter's there. A lot has changed but they had a great time!! Time flew by! We spent like 5 hrs there! They have slides, many pools. Even with all the kids camps there it didn't feel too crowded. The snack bar is really lacking is my only negative. There were two boys working hard with a small line but they needed help BAD. The small line I was in start to finish took about 45 min 😬 I was patient because they were doing their best but MGMT needs to care about this place too. Ppl get hungry and hangry.

Great small water park for the kids. Save $ by bringing your own food and eating at a picnic shelter just outside. I love how they have the kiddie areas "gated" so Littles don't wander near the deeper pools. Bring sand toys! I'd have given it 5 stars if only the water table worked in the sand play area!
Chelsea C — Google review
This place is inconsistent. They won’t let you bring food from home because they want you to spend $14 on chicken and fries. They don’t sell healthy options, but won’t let you bring healthy food in. They make announcements when it storms that you will be let back in 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightning. Last thunder was at 3:35. 4:25 they’re not letting people back in and what’s worse is they can’t tell you what time they will. I understand the safety of everything. I understand my bad timing, but if you make an announcement to everyone over the loudspeaker; stand by what you say. A lot of camps come here; which makes it less enjoyable. Not to mention some lifeguards enforce rules others just let kids run and watch and watch them go down the slide head first. Meanwhile I have to tell me own kid that they have to be safe and sit the right way going down the slide.

The main pool was large and warm. There are two large slides and two splash pads. We were expecting more but it worked for the needs of our family. The outdoor seating and lockers need to be updated.

The park itself is fantastic! We love this place and have had great experiences in the past. However, this year, the water in the men's locker room was freezing cold at all times—whether it was evening, noon, or morning. It was fine last year and the year before. I spoke to a manager, and it seems this is an ongoing issue. The next day, we visited the park in the morning and encountered the same problem. It's unreasonable to ask people to shower before entering the water when the showers don't work properly. The situation is completely opposite in the women's locker room, where the water is sometimes extremely hot. This park has great potential, but these issues need addressing. Regarding the food, I ordered chicken wings and french fries on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the french fries were very old—not crunchy but oily and soft, making them inedible. Additionally, the food is very expensive. It appears there's a lack of quality control. On the positive side, the lifeguards are always vigilant, which is very reassuring. The park is amazing for kids and even adults. Don’t get me wrong, the park is fantastic—you just need to fix the showers. Last year, this place was amazing, but this year the issues with the showers are disappointing. I'm not sure if I will visit again, as I can't force my 5-year-old kids to shower with freezing cold water.
Vakhtang K — Google review
A little disappointed. We didn't realize that they removed most of the water features so it's really just a big swimming pool. There are still things for younger kids but all and all kinda a bust. Also, I was very surprised that there was no one there on Memorial Day weekend. The last time we went there was a line to get in but today (Sunday, Aug. 31st) we had it to ourselves.

Really great time. Just perfect for a weekend outing for my kids ages 7-13. There’s enough here to keep them occupied for hours. The food was not bad either, for pool food. We arrived early to get chairs, but there were seats open around the pool throughout the day. Finally, the staff was exceptional. Polite, professional, and safety-focused. You really can’t ask for much more at a community pool/park!

Bowlero Centreville is a well-established chain of bowling alleys that offers a relaxed atmosphere, food and drinks, league options, and private party services. Recently, a customer had a positive experience with the staff who were attentive and made the redemption process convenient. The worker was helpful in sharing information about special deals for children and even gave complimentary gifts like free kids bowling and arcade cards. This kind gesture was greatly appreciated by the grateful individual who also enjoyed the vibrant bowling lanes and music selection.
10/10 service. I have been going here all summer and the staff here is so kind and friendly. Ty in particular is one of the best employees here and he has given me excellent service on numerous occasions. Drink and food prices are very good here as well. Not too much nightlife in Centreville but this bowling alley has definitely been great for the nightlife scene because it is open late. If you are stopping by in Centreville this bowling alley is a must try.

The bowling setup and lane were great, and the food was amazing! It was nice that the lane could accommodate one player with bumpers, so kids could join the family fun and score well too. However, the front desk staff tried to sell a higher-priced package even though a weekday offer was about to start in just 5 minutes. It would’ve been more customer-friendly if they had informed us about the offer and suggested waiting until 7 PM to book. That’s why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, it’s a great place to have fun for about 2–2.5 hours with a group of four.

I haven't been to a bowling alley in a while - my 14 year old wanted to go bowling with this friends for his birthday. We were really impressed with this facility. It was clean and updated, we got the unlimited party pack or something with food for the kids and the food was surprising good and the staff was incredibly attentive. Overall, a great experience.

I had such a great experience at Lucky Strike Centreville! The atmosphere was fun, clean, and welcoming, and the customer service was top-notch. Huge shoutout to Ty for his excellent service — he was friendly, attentive, and really made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time. It’s rare to find staff who go above and beyond like that. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this location to friends and family!

Both the managers and Mashal were so prompt and attentive!! Space was clean and staff seemed happy! Very pleased with the service, cleanliness, and the food! We ordered the pretzels, chicken sandwich, and boneless wings that tasted great! Solid food here and couldn’t be happier celebrating for our daughters birthday

Honestly, Ty is the best! When we go bowling, he remembers us and is just so nice. He's always in a good mood and makes the whole check-in process super easy. He really goes out of his way to help people and make sure everything runs smoothly. Also, great music and just overall a great bowling experience.

The employees were very helpful and accommodating of our large group/soccer team. Our girls had a lot of fun hanging out with each other bowling, eating, and playing in the arcade. It was also a good space for the parents to supervise nearby.

This place has really gone down from when it was Bowlero. The food is absolutely nasty. We found a dead bug in our glass and the server continued to pour the soda even though she was seeing it too. She admitted later that she had seen the bug when I asked to get a new glass. One of the glasses they served was chipped and had plastic shards in the soda. The manager is very rude and kept interrupting our party to threaten us to eat less, even though our party had paid up for unlimited refills. Horrible experience, go to Sterling Bowlero instead.

How do you rate parks? I go here bc that's the permit the county gave us. It's close to home and the turf is not as worn out as other fields?
Tri D — Google review
Fields look alright, and there's seating on at least one of the fields, so that's perfect. The cons are: While I'm happy to have regular bathrooms, there's rarely ever any toilet paper in there. There's also not even a spot for soap. The soap is nowhere to be found. There's a playground, but it's for the very small kids. The area is also very small. Parking can be a challenge. You just have to be patient. My kids' favorite part is that there's always an ice cream truck in sight.

Well maintained soccer field and nice playground, highly recommend. there are other fields for baseball i think and bathroom and plenty of parking
Mahmoud N — Google review
Mainly there for softball. The fields are in good condition and their restrooms are actually decently clean for a park. Not much parking next to the softball and baseball fields but it does the job. I enjoy playing at this field.

Real bathrooms. If you're playing field 5 baseball field, don't park in the closer spots on the left. It feels far enough for foul balls, but it's not. Near Fair Lakes for quick bites.
Michelle S — Google review
Nice park wit soccer and baseball fields, also a small playground and walking trails
Sarah B — Google review
Lovely park and well maintained. We sometimes go for soccer and for our kids.
Sam — Google review
This is a park that is popular for soccer and other team sports. It has multiple lighted fields and ample parking. It is also very close to the Fair Lakes area and has easy access to shopping and food. The park also has actual bathrooms. They are normally clean, but since they are public access, some people still tend to be disgusting. I always make sure I have wet wipes with me just to make sure I can clean the toilet up if I need to.

Parking lot
East I ff, east on I-66. Plenty of parking for groups to meet for carpooling.

Wonderful, free parking alternative for public transportation. It would be awesome if there was a traffic light for people to exit left out of the parking lot. .Its a convenient spot to meet and carpool. Lots of parking spaces and very easy to find. Quick access back to 66

Easy to commute Each and everyone buses 🚌 are on time good driver’s friendly atmosphere.
Naveen D — Google review
Safe and secure, but two problems: 1: I got a ticket for expired registration. My tags were registered and renewed. The DMV has not sent my stickers, 5 months overdue. And I got a late fee. $75. I live right next to the P&R... no DMV lookup was done, and I took the hit. Bogus. 2: People use the P&R for cutting around the light at Stone Road and Lee Highway. They blow through with SPEED. In the 1.5 years I've lived here, I was almost hit 3 times because of this. My daily walks/commutes go directly through the metro, on foot.

Weekdays this is a critical Park and Ride spot. I have done a lot. If gets full pretty quickly as lot of computers towards DC take advantage of this Park and Ride. Farifax country operate buses connection Park and Ride to Metro station.

Normal metro parking. Wish the pavement can be redone soon. Lines aren't visible and too much debris all around. Doesn't seem being maintained regularly.

Good place to carpool when visiting SNP (Shenandoah National Park) or most places in WV with friends.
