Nature & Parks
Rock Creek Regional Park is a vast and well-kept park with various regions to explore, including a golf course. There are multiple hiking trails and lakeshore areas for wildlife watching, as well as playgrounds and boat rentals. The park contains many different picnicking areas, canoeing opportunities, and open land for outdoor activities. It is ideal for walking and cycling during all seasons of the year. Additionally, kids can learn about nature by observing bugs and streams in the park's ample vegetation.
Lake Needwood is a gem of a spot in Montgomery County. If you avoid the obvious areas, fishing can be awesome. The park itself is great. I've been fishing there for many years and finally decided to try the opposite shoreline and caught these beauties using a new lure called scat cover in green and blue fleck. The bass love it. There's also great crappie fishing here.

We stumbled across this state park on the internet and glad we did. We drove 1 hour to get there from Hagerstown. There was plenty of parking. The trails were easy to follow and clean. Loved there were stops to get off the trail for the dogs to play in the water. The lake was nice. Defintly would visit again and tell others.
Julie C — Google review
This place is honestly beautiful. Fishing was alright, no big fish. Place is optimal for hiking I want to say. Lots of roots that help you on your way up and down. There's parking and it's pretty clean.
Mati D — Google review
It’s perfect hike around the lake. It has kayak launch. And boat ramp. Beautiful area with Lake view. Got some nice colors right now. 2.5-3 miles lopes. Parking are in many places. Dog friendly!

Rock Creek Regional Park, located in Montgomery County, Maryland, encompasses the 75-acre Lake Needwood, created by the construction of a dam in 1965. The park offers boating and fishing opportunities on the lake, as well as an archery range, picnic areas, a playground, and an 18-hole golf course. A great place to enjoy nature, it offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking and biking.
Christian C — Google review
Love this place. Really fun trails that definitely throw some challenging roots and gullies near the lake but certainly not too difficult. Fun to see and hear the animals all over the place.
Stephen — Google review
Very quiet and clean. Nice place to go with family. We took the kids boating. Definitely a work out so you may want to have folks in your boat that know what their doing, don't mind switching shifts or are ok with rowing the whole time. They also have pedal boats, tours, kayaks and canoes. They have picnic areas that are really cute too for parties.
His C — Google review
We played a nice concert here. Like any other event at Montgomery County's parks, it was amazing.

Glenview Mansion is a stunning historic estate located in Rockville, surrounded by 65 acres of meticulously landscaped gardens. This elegant Neo-Classical Revival home, designed by renowned architects Lochie and Porter in 1926, stands as a testament to architectural beauty and history. As a designated local landmark on the National Registry for Historic Places, it has long been a favored gathering spot for Washington's elite.
Discovered this place a few months back and we’ve found ourselves coming here often, my kids love playing on the gorgeous grounds. They have a great hill by the parking lot, which became a mini ski resort when it snowed. Had no idea it was this popular! Beautiful in every season!

Located in Rockville, Maryland, Glenview Mansion Park is a hidden gem offering a peaceful escape from the city. The beautifully landscaped grounds and historic mansion provide a picturesque backdrop for picnics, weddings, or simply strolling through the gardens. The park also hosts various events throughout the year, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors to enjoy. Overall, Glenview Mansion Park is a charming destination worth exploring.

Beautiful building and grounds/gardens, for a walk any day, or an event. Fun for the kids to run around and explore, plus a great playground. Nature center and trails nearby. If you haven’t been, put it on the top of your list. Plenty of parking.

Glenview Mansion in Rockville, MD is a charming and historic venue. The mansion itself is beautifully preserved, making it a great spot for events and weddings. The surrounding gardens are well-maintained and provide a picturesque backdrop for photos. Overall, it’s a lovely place for special occasions and a step back in time.

We got married here, it is a part of the rockville civic center. It was a very nice setting with many areas to take photos. The staff very accommodating and informative. There is also a park and other amenities that we did not utilize. Nice place overall and very well kept, there was tons of parking also.
Adel S — Google review
Nice venue and the space was ok. A little older but from what I could see, the grounds were kept up nicely. (Night event) I would have given it 5 stars but the staff at the end of the night was very pushy and took a little away from what was a great night. I definitely understand that when you rent a space on a weekday and it's late people want to get home, I truly do understand but at the same time, if an alloted time is given to have your event and a clean up time afterward, please allow the the renters to do so without hovering like vulchers on a carcass. It was very uncomfortable and if the renter doesn't comply to the clean up, by the way we did, then deduct it from the security deposit collected in advance. If I could have given a 3.5 star rating I would have but a good time was had so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and also ALL the staff wasn't like that just two (2) so I won't penalize the whole group for a few bad apples but I can tell they were probably the Senior Staff and felt they had the authority to do so but renting there again, probably not just because I wouldn't want to chance that occurrence with staff again. But hey our experience may not be yours.

Beautiful scenic lake surrounded by forest and hiking trails in the midst of urban area; well maintained facilities, lot of picnic areas with picnic benches and grills, pavilion for reservation for special events. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking.

The Lake Needwood Westside Loop, nestled near Derwood, Maryland, is a charming 2.6-mile circuit. This trail is wonderfully beginner-friendly, and I've had the pleasure of experiencing it in all seasons, with each visit leaving me thoroughly satisfied. During my most recent hike, a picturesque summer day graced by gentle rain, I once again marveled at the trail's unique character. On one side of the "loop," you'll find yourself immersed in lush woodlands, with occasional glimpses of the serene lake. On the other side, it's a delightful lakeside stroll throughout—truly the best of both worlds. One point to note is that the two sections of this loop aren't directly connected. To transition from one side to the other, you'll need to briefly cross a paved road, which sees light automobile traffic and some cyclists. The wooded portion of the trail can be a bit tricky to navigate, and I've admittedly lost my way here before. Thankfully, my trusty trail app has always come to the rescue. While this trail can attract its fair share of hikers, there are plenty of hidden pockets of solitude where you can truly immerse yourself in nature's embrace. Walking this trail feels like a tender embrace from Mother Nature herself—a feeling I cherish deeply. Please note that the trailhead isn't accessible by public transportation, but you can easily reach it via Uber or your own vehicle. Ample parking is available, ensuring a hassle-free start to your nature escape.

I rediscovered and enjoyed this park for most of this Summer. It is a beautiful place. I always walked around bass fishing and took a boat out a few times. It is very relaxing and there are many points to discover. I look forward to returning after a small break. If you haven't been her, go! There are walking paths, archery lanes, a stocked lake, boats and picnic area. Great local park.

Croydon Creek Nature Center is a wonderful destination for families with young children. The park offers a 2.5 mile loop trail that can be shortened if needed, allowing kids to explore and play in the creek. Additionally, the center provides an exciting opportunity to observe live creatures, which is sure to delight children. The staff are extremely friendly and always ready to answer any questions from curious little ones.
This is such a great place to come and relax. I enjoy stacking rocks by the water and bird watching. Everything is go i pick up a piece of trash that invonsiderates leave behind, I'd ask that everyone does this when they visit

Beautiful Nature Center in Rockville, MD. Stopped on by to check out their feeders, and explored the Nature Center and walking trails. Well maintained and great location to visit. Visiting and walking the trails, etc. is free but they do charge a fee for some of the programs they offer. Inside the nature center is an experience. Live animals including turtles and a Screech Owl. Various classrooms and lots of exhibits to educate yourself our your children. Well done. Plenty of parking with main lot and some overflow parking area
Ed V — Google review
We have been to Croydon Creek Nature Center several times with our baby and toddler, and we just hosted our toddler’s birthday party here as well. Overall, the nature center is such a fun place for kids with lots of animals, games, hiking trails, and a great playground. Our toddler asks every weekend if we can go! Additionally, she LOVED her birthday party at the nature center (as did all of our guests)! It was very easy to book (but book early!) and the staff were very easy to work with when we had questions. Our host, Laura, was so enthusiastic, interactive, and really knew how to capture the kids’ attention. I highly recommend visiting or even hosting an event here! (Additionally, special shoutout to Sarah who drove our credit card to our house when we left it there!)
Rebecca R — Google review
Excellent place to bring young children. We hiked the 2.5 mile loop (can be shorter) and let the kids play in the creek. We then came to the center here and found lots of live creatures to look at which thrilled the children. Staff are super friendly and answered all our children's questions. Give them a call to see when they are feeding the snapping turtle. I wish we could have seen that.
Frederick N — Google review
A free and fun place for younger children to learn about nature through puzzles and books and seeing the live animals ( turtles, fish, an owl, frogs and two snakes). We stayed for about an hour and it seemed popular for children. Check out the large snapping turtle! And cute crafts to do at home!
Psalms 1 — Google review
Amazing place. Always free. Cute playground that is different from the regular playground set up. My kids love climbing on the giant turtle and cooking in the mid kitchen. My kids love stopping by to see the animals, staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. Great access to hiking trails and the creek.
Kelsey A — Google review
Right outside of downtown Rockville is a nature preserve in Montgomery County with an amazing little nature center. This is a year-round place as the area has for four seasons and interest of flowers, plants and trees. The outside has hiking trails and gardens, there is bird feeder area for the enjoyment of any level ornithologist and a great little musical and play area for the kids. The building itself houses snakes, turtles and fish. Inside are nature learning books and toys upstairs and downstairs. There are classes for kids 18 months and up and a 2 to 5-year-olds class for a small fee. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and if they don't know the answer they will find it out for you when it comes to nature. Definitely great for preschool & elementary kids and anyone who enjoys learning more about our natural habitat.

The employees here are really friendly and knowledgeable. There’s a bee exhibit that shows inside a hive with a queen and all. The grounds/trails are well maintained and has foliage to keep u cool.

Meadowside Nature Center is a facility that offers interactive displays showcasing both natural and cultural history. It also boasts an extensive network of trails spanning eight miles, as well as aviaries housing various species of native birds. While the center was temporarily closed due to COVID-19, nearby play areas were available for children to enjoy.
Although the nature center was closed due to COVID, there were very nice areas for kids to play nearby. The trails were well shaded and very scenic along the creeks and around the lake. Not too many bugs either. Well maintained, but still lots of roots and slight elevation changes.

Nice trail network surrounding the nature center area, a beautiful creek crossing with large stepping stones to walk across to Lake Frank Trail
Shaw L — Google review
Hands on Fun! This Nature Center feels more like a museum. The rooms and exhibits make you feel a part of the history of Montgomery County, Maryland. The kids can interact with the displays including the two cave areas. The animals on display are remarkable inside turtles, snakes, frogs and more in the colorful reading and discovery room. The Raptor area outside with beautiful birds of prey. There are hiking trails down to the water, an outside classroom, and recycling/compost learning area. The bird feeders bring many small colorful birds. The play space out front has climbing logs, a bamboo teepee and some other assorted touch & learn items. We also enjoyed the main look by to relax as well as listen to the bird call box and learn about the indigenous people that once called this area home. Definitely a gem and would recommend anyone to come visit.

Well marked trails. Good parking and port-o-potties while Nature Center Closed

Such a wonderful place! There’s a lot to do for kids- several indoor interactive exhibits (more like play areas), a cool crawl-through cave, bird watching areas, and a really neat outdoor play area. There are several really easy hiking trails- we love to walk down to the pond to see if we can see the turtles and frogs. It’s such a beautiful area! We’ve been several times & still have more to explore.

Very cute lodge with neat cave and crawspace for kids. Well maintained trails for short nature walks.

Great location for kids birthday parties - - kids love running around the front area and have a great time with the various activities that they offer.

I've been going to Meadowside Nature Center since I was as old as my kids are now. It's a fun place to go, with lots of interactive, engaging exhibits. There is an indoor fake cave (currently without the water in their water features, something I hope they're in the process of fixing, not removing). There is a small area devoted to the olden time residents- both the Native Americans and settlers. There are many easy, fun hiking trails. There are outdoor exhibits and play areas. There are interesting animals. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and eager to share their knowledge. They also host fun, free events throughout the year.

This establishment is frequently visited and has a consistent beer selection with suitable choices. It welcomes dogs and kids, but if you prefer a different environment, try finding a more secluded table. There are two restrooms available, which is very convenient. The seating may not be comfortable, so it's best to spend only about an hour there. This may be intentional to promote circulation. Usually, there is only one person serving, resulting in a queue of around three to four people deep.
We recently held our Cheers for Change event at 7 Locks Brewery, and it was a fantastic experience! The staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to work with, making the planning process a breeze. Our guests had a great time, enjoyed the brewery tour, and loved the beer. One guest even inquired about hosting her own event there because she had such a good time! Rockville is lucky to have a small business with such a quality product that supports the local community. Highly recommend!

Best brewery in the area! Staff are all friendly, humble, super nice, and very helpful! Atmosphere is cool. I go by myself sometimes on Friday/Saturday nights and can meet people there. It’s a good local brewery that makes exceptional beer 🍻 Prices are great too!
William S — Google review
For some reason this place turns out to be our most frequently visited. Beer selection is consistent: there is always 2 suiting our choices and 1 meeting the expectations. Dogs and kids are welcome, so if this isn't your preferred environment try to find a remote table. Not always possible, but worth a try. 2 restrooms, which is REALLY handy (!!) Seating isn't comfortable, so an hour is the most we have spent there. Maybe that is done intentionally to increase the circulation. Usually, there is a single person serving, creating a queue of 3-4 deep. Enjoy your visit! Hope this helps.

Really nice place to try a variety of beer. Chill ambiance, would be a fun place to hang out! The staff were polite and the bathroom was clean. Cool interior. It's hard to notice the place the first time because it's so tucked away

Excellent place to hang out with the crew. There's a food truck outside that u can get food from. The options on the food are not that extensive on the truck but doable. U r also able to bring in ur own food to hang out and play various card games with u and ur friends or family.

Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park is a thrilling outdoor venue that offers an array of adventure activities in the forest canopy. Participants can explore the treetop rope course, which consists of multiple zones with varying levels of excitement. The staff at Go Ape is highly professional and provides thorough safety instructions to ensure everyone's well-being. Additionally, they offer ground-level zip lines for beginners to practice before embarking on the higher courses.
This was my third time at GoApe and it' definitely won't ne my last. I love this place and it's such a wonderful outdoor activity. From the time you check in to the time you leave you are greeted by a warm and friendly staff. They are so accommodating and there's no pressure at all. They get you all set and take you through the safety briefs then you are off to your fun and adventure. The courses and views are great. You'll need to bring your strength and a great attitude with you to climb the ladders and nets. I can't say anything negative about this experience and to have this access in Maryland is great. The pricing for what you get isn't bad either. Overall great experience and I will recommend to others who love the outdoors.
Rhonda L — Google review
We initially made a bit of a fuss about not being allowed to bring our phones and keys on the adventure, but we quickly realized how smart and necessary that rule was. Safety is clearly a top priority at Go Ape, and it made the experience much more enjoyable knowing we didn’t have to worry about dropping anything. We also thought gloves might not be necessary at first, but we’re so glad we bought them and totally worth it for grip and comfort! We also picked up a phone case necklace which let us take a few pics along the way without stressing about our phones. We had an amazing time. We’re pretty athletic, but the course was still a challenge and not so much physically, but definitely mentally, especially when you’re climbing up to levels 4 or 5 and zip-lining across roads! 😅 Super fun, exciting, and something we’ve already recommended to family and friends. Would absolutely do it again!
Natalie R — Google review
5 star attraction! Great for teens and adults. Loved how fun it was to go through the challenges with others, especially the Tarzan swing. The staff was super knowledgeable and passionate about helping others have the best time! Great park with a lake, arrow shooting range, bathrooms and more! Highly recommend and will be back soon!

Unforgettable First-Time Zip Line Experience! As someone who's terrified of heights, I never thought I'd find myself zip lining—but I'm so glad I did! From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely incredible. They explained everything clearly, made us feel completely safe, and their calm, professional approach really helped ease my nerves. Once we got going, it was pure thrill! The views were stunning, the course was exhilarating, and I even met some amazing people along the way. It truly felt like I unlocked a new level of adventure. Can’t wait to come back and bring others with me—this experience was beyond worth it
M D — Google review
An excellent place to celebrate any occasion, or even just to get outside! The staff are all super approachable and make sure you have a memorable & safe experience. My favorite part was ziplining over the road and watching the sun set in the park. Getting a chance to challenge yourself at the ‘decision points’ was another highlight for me. Swing through with some friends and make some memories!
Johnny ( — Google review
My daughter was visiting from CA, and I thought this would be a fun mother-daughter bonding activity. And it was. We opted for the Go Ape Treetop Adventure with 6 sites. I wasn’t as fit as her so I skipped 2 sites but it allowed me to take pictures and videos of her zip-lining, which I couldn’t really do when I was on the treetops myself. As for the adventure itself, it was physically demanding, a bit scary, but a lot of fun, unique and memorable. That said, if you don’t exercise much or spend most days as a couch potato, you will find the adventure tasks difficult to get through. I would like to commend CJ, the staff instructor who trained us, for explaining, demonstrating, and showing us how to stay safe. She was very encouraging, positive, and patient. Even though we did not have to use our whistles, it was comforting to look down and occasionally see her sitting in the trees monitoring us. Overall, it was a highly engaging experience most definitely worth doing again.

Slightly more challenging and fun than I initially expected. I’ve gone ziplining before but this is a whole new experience. Each of the six courses end with a zipline but to get to them you will have to climb up tree ladders and across catwalks. Nicky and the other instructors were great. They were always close enough to give advice while letting us go through the courses at our own pace.

As a first timer and second timer, despite the heat, it was a phenomenal experience! We felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Joe and Nikki were incredible with explaining everything, the safety procedures, the history of the company and more! The courses were a bit challenging but were truly exhilarating and fun! We will be coming back again!

Rockville Civic Center is a vast expanse of greenery, dotted with outdoor artwork and shaded paths. Along with tennis courts and a playground, it provides an array of amenities for visitors to indulge in. The park's well-maintained grounds are perfect for hosting events like weddings, while its staff is always on hand to offer useful information and assistance.
This place is HUGE. It took about five minutes to walk from the entrance to where the playground and picnic tables are. Because it’s December on a typical cold day, I have this huge place almost to myself (I did pass by a few people while walking). I came for the promise of trails and still haven’t found them because this place is big enough you can almost get lost without gps! So I’m happy because I have a nice long walk just trying to figure out where the mean for people to take nice long walks!

Love this park every time I visit. It's close to downtown Rockville but feels like you're out in the country. Great nature center, hiking trails that go on forever! Very relaxing place to visit.

Was part of a private party at an event held in the mansion. It was nighttime so I i didn't get to see the exterior. The inside was pretty cool though, various pieces of art were on display. There is a rotating exhibit of donated art always on display it seems.

We got married here, it was a very nice setting with many areas to take photos. The staff very accommodating and informative. There is also a park and other amenities that we did not utilize. Nice place overall and very well kept, there was tons of parking also.

Not far from downtown Rockville, the RCC is another hidden gem in Rockville. This place is breath-taking with the Mansion in the middle of a beautiful scenery. Take a blanket and have a picnic, enjoy the nature beauty and take some amazing photos by the Mansion or in the gardens. The kids can run around, play at the playground and the you can visit the nearby nature center. If you are up to tennis, this place has four courts that are waiting for you to hit the ball. If you are still not tired, you can hike in the woods. What’s more than such a perfect day in the nature?

Rockville Town Square Outdoor Ice Skating is a conveniently located small ice rink in the heart of town, surrounded by a variety of restaurants. It offers an enjoyable experience for both beginners and experts. While practicing gliding along the side rails is encouraged, be prepared for falls, especially if you're new to skating. The only downside is that the rental skates may not be the most comfortable or well-padded, resulting in potential discomfort after some time.
Lovely setting, helpful staff and they take pretty good care of the ice. Also surrounded by good food and drink! Only downside is they let too many skaters on the ice. It can get very crowded with novice skaters that limit the available ice for anyone wanting to go faster than a slow walk. Also lots of inconsiderate parents blocking the entry point; I wish staff would clear these people out.
Will P — Google review
Nice small outdoor ice rink in town center area. Parking is free in garages for 2 hours. The staff were nice and helpful. The main reason for fewer stars is that the skate rentals were very uncomfortable/painful. Rental skates are usually not the best but I was in pain the entire time I was skating. I would recommend bringing your own skates if possible.
Elizabeth — Google review
Small little ice rink. Great for kids. 15 bucks i believe for a kid. Stayed nearly 2 hrs. No hassles. Lots of people started to show up. Kids first time here. They have these little slide holders for first timers.
Aj L — Google review
I used to love going to this place. However my skates were taken and when we asked to get new ones the lady RUDELY refused. The Asian woman the works the desk is honestly the rudest customer service I’ve had and she needs to be FIRED. She had an attitude the entire time. Not sure if she was racist or just rude either way. She needs to go.
Jaya R — Google review
It's a small ice rink convieniently located at the town center, in the middle of lots of restaurants. It was our first time and definitely enjoyable experience and could be recommended for beginners and experts alike. You could be practicing gliding holding on to the side rails but yeah be prepared to falls too (if you're a first timer or even a novice). Only downside was the rental skates was not the best/hard (may be less padded/cushioned?) and was in a bit of pain after a while. So best to bring yours. Tickets were about 15 bucks each.
Thaveesha C — Google review
The skates are so, so painful! I thought it was just the first pair I had tried on and exchanged for another, but the second was even worse. Had to take breaks because it was hurting pretty bad. Also, they kicked people off the ice ten minutes before actual closing which was kinda annoying and frustrating. The ice was pretty messed up too by the time we got there, which was later in the evening. Certain areas were super difficult to skate on, combined with the terrible skates. If you bring your own skates it's probably more enjoyable. The music and atmosphere provide good vibes.
ST C — Google review
Make your reservations! This place is terrrific. An hour skate for about $15 per person was great! My boys, 10 and 12, skated for the first time and did terrific. They do have devices to help eliminate falls for the young and old. :) The rink is kept pretty empty given covid. I observed mostly teens on the ice, but they were respectful while exuding the holiday spirit. Reservations are handled nicely so there are limited skaters getting their skates and entering the rink at the same time. Its conveniently located near a parking garage, with many restaurants and hot chocolate within walking distance. I highly recommend this place.
Kristina B — Google review
Great for all ages, non-skaters and above! They have stands to help the kids, and adults, hold to something other than the rail. Skating outside under the clock and next to a Christmas tree in December is delightful! $14 gives you 2 hours of skate time and rentals. There are free lockers for your shoes and bags. Come when it opens if you want open area, other than that it stay pretty busy! Only suggestion, an attendant on the ice to keep the tweens skating counter clockwise.

The F Scott Fitzgerald Theatre hosts the annual Rockville Lantern Festival Celebration Event, a cultural extravaganza filled with traditional performances and activities. Attendees are treated to a diverse range of entertainment and have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a culture-rich environment. This event fosters an appreciation for great traditions and allows participants to establish a deep connection with various artistic expressions. Additionally, the theatre showcases exceptional productions like Gilbert & Sullivan's 'H.M.S.'
Quaint, comfy, uncomplicated, and nestled in a cozy neighborhood that's two quick stoplights away from several dozen delicious food venues. The full size theatre stage hosts so many interesting events without having to wade through the swamp of special interest advertising that bombard you during every step taken to and from your theater seat. Flanked by simple pantry space and modern restrooms, it's a surprise how the parking lot is so small. But speaking of the parking lot, there could be more signage and better handicap access from the back. Other than this slightest critique, this is probably the most effortless way to soak in art & culture.

Rockville Ice Arena is a top-notch facility with three full-size rinks catering to figure skating, ice hockey, and community skating activities. The arena offers various in-house programs including skating lessons for all levels and beginner hockey instruction. It serves as the home to three prominent hockey teams and hosts high-caliber youth hockey programs. Visitors can enjoy a clean facility with helpful staff, although some suggest the need for improved accessibility features like ramps.
I hosted my daughter's 9 year old ice skating birthday party here, and it was a fantastic experience. Brian and his staff were responsive and professional. Prior to our ice time, staff laid out the skate helpers and several staff members went out on the ice to supervise. Everything couldn't have run smoother. Highly recommend this rink!

My son-in-law and I took my 3 year-old grandson to the skating rink for his first skating lesson. It was so cute with 7 toddlers on the ice mostly falling down and trying to get back up. The rink has a snack bar and a pro shop with a large variety of clothing and equipment for hockey or figure skating. The skates were not in great condition and didn't follow standard sizes that would match shoe sizes well. Also, there should have been 2 instructors for the class but there only was one.
Ida D — Google review
Really nice three sheet facility, locker rooms were clean and in good condition. The ice was good and set up nice after the zam cut.

Nice rink. Parking area not well lit. Really nice lounge area upstairs to watch a game in a warm setting. Snack bar was good. Good options there for a drink and a quick snack. Saw a speed skating club getting ready to skate. Haven't seen that before so I guess it's the place to go for speed skating. The bathroom had an odor that I'm not sure could have been human. Hold your breath before you go in there but other than that a nice rink.

I play hockey in every Rink in the DMV. This place checks all the boxes. 3 sheets, decent pro-shop with a profiling machine (*bonus), decent size locker rooms and showers with pressure and automatic entry doors. Double bonus, the parking lot is flat which makes for level surface to park your RV on tournament weekends. There'd bigger ,newer, more trendy rinks around.... this one just does everything right.
Mike N — Google review
Nice and clean facility with helpful employees. Although I figure skate occasionally as a hobby, my review is not for using the ice here (because I have not) but for visiting as a spectator. I come sometimes with a dear childhood friend whose daughter plays hockey. One critique I have is that a ramp to the bleachers in Rink 1 would be so helpful to my friend who is walker dependent due to a neurological disease. How much would it cost to install a ramp by those stairs? I can only imagine there are other spectators who would benefit from better accessibility as well. It pains me to see anyone struggle with basic accommodations in public places this day and age.
Sophia C — Google review
My daughter recently started a skating class from here, and we started going for public skating too. Their classes are efficient and instructors are great. I can see all the kids really enjoying to learn and having fun. Their public skating time can be crowded but I have never seen any injuries so far and they make sure to clean the rink every hour or so. They have total 3 rinks and have ice hockey teams playing as well. They have nice and sturdy beginner holders so that kids can still enjoy skating even if they dont know how to skate or scared. They also have generous sitting benches right next to the rinks and outside. Inside benches get real cold but it is nice to sit and watch your little ones learning. Parking can be little tight and they have nice diner style restaurant and snack/ coffee bar. Renting skating system is extremely efficient and overall service is good. I really like this place and my daughter loves to skate. I think I will continue to come here for classes and public skating as long as she wants to come.

It’s good rink and all but I am giving them one star now just to blow off steam. We missed our game today because their reception repeatedly told us our game was moved. The receptionist and his manager (?) were insisting that the game was supposed to be three hours later than scheduled. Pretty angry at the moment

VisArts is a non-profit arts center dedicated to enriching communities through visual arts. They offer a wide range of classes, exhibitions, and camps for individuals to explore different art techniques and fields. One unique aspect of VisArts is the abundance of open studios available for practice and creation. The organization also provides wedding coordination services, with Mary being highly recommended by past clients. Visitors can expect excellent instructors and a welcoming environment when participating in classes such as wheel pottery or stained glass.
My husband and I got married at VisArts on Dec. 20th and it was a dream! The main reason why we loved VisArts is because of Mary Liniger the event and sales director and her team! They worked extremely well with my event coordinator and vendors team to execute a beautiful and flawless wedding for us. Mary’s communication is great! See clarified anything needed, they also have a preferred vendors list of high rated/recommended vendors including caterers. There are several to choose from in various budgets, which is nice! I mean she and my event coordinator really had the wedding running like a well oiled machine! The spaces are excellent! My husband and I fell in love with the Buchanan room where we held our ceremony and reception. As soon as we walked it, we just love the floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the town center. It truly matched the vibe of holiday romance we were going for. They even had a rooftop which we shot some beautiful pictures/video on! During the months with the nice weather you can even have a wedding on there that has beautiful views! They have different art spaces which when able, you can shoot photos in. It was a really unique space and I personally loved it. Even price wise, VisArts was one of the more affordable options. The space is also naturally nice but also present a lot of opportunities for unique decor and setup. Our holiday romance theme wedding was beautifully decorated! I loved it. We got SOOOOOO many compliments on the space and the decor in the Buchanan room! The venue is very convenient as it is right in Rockville Towne Center where there is access to several food options, a hotel, garage parking, a CVS, down the street from several other services. My husband and our bridal party stayed a local hotel a few blocks away, making it easy to go back and forth, if need be. But for the guests, just something to be mindful that there is no free parking or on site parking so that can be something they need to prepare for. Also, there is a “bridal suite” like space on the top floor where you and your bridal party can get ready or keep their things securely. But you do need to make sure to grab Mary or someone one her team to get you to that floor and get to that room. There is a special key needed to get to that floor/open the room as a way to keep your stuff that you bring to the video safe and secure. But just make sure you prepare for that so you aren’t frantically trying to get up there and have no way to. If you have an event coordinator, make sure they let Mary know as well. You or your coordinator should keep in communication with Mary and her team so they know when you need to get up there and you will be good to go. Otherwise they will be making sure your other event needs are being tended to and ran smoothly. If you are looking for or are open to a non-traditional space for your wedding, anniversary or any other formal event, this would be a great space to consider! Mary Liniger and her team are so professional and so easy to work with. They will work hard to make your wedding dreams come true! Our wedding was beautiful and I could not thank Mary and her team enough for making sure of that.
Brianna L — Google review
My wife and I really enjoyed working with Mary and her team at VisArts. We had looked at around eight different venues before coming to VisArts. The venue stood out to us due to the space and the flexibility they offered with doing an outdoor wedding versus an indoor one (we opted for an indoor one). The location was also great since we were right by the Cambria Hotel Rockville (a 5-minute walk) and the Rockville metro station, meaning our guests could take the train from the airport. These were all pluses when it came to accommodating our out-of-town guests. The cost was a bit more expensive than what we were originally considering, and that feeling persisted as we opted for some add-on things like the use of the roof for our cocktail reception, some decor, and a Zoom livestream for our ceremony. In total, it was $6,200 for the room rental package (a Saturday during peak wedding season) and $1,800 for the add-ons. Something unexpectedly nice was that 20% of the cost of our venue package was classified as a donation to VisArts and thus was tax-deductible. We felt good about supporting a local non-profit organization through our wedding. Mary and her team were incredibly communicative and clear discussing what was expected of both them and us throughout the booking process. Overally, we’d definitely recommend VisArts as a space for anyone considering looking for a venue. Credit to our photographer SOBED Creative for use of these photos.

I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Michael’s beautiful winter wedding at VisArts, and I highly recommend it! The venue offers a versatile space that you can truly personalize to fit your vision. Sarah and Michael added colorful paper lanterns, which brought a warm and inviting glow to the space, even with the darker winter light. The surrounding area is perfect for couple portraits, and if you’re as adventurous as they were, you might even squeeze in some ice-skating! It’s a fantastic venue in a vibrant city—perfect for a unique and memorable celebration. ig @konradbrattke

Most of my friends and family had never painted before, and they absolutely loved it! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Jamie was amazing during the booking process—super patient and always quick to respond to my questions. I felt supported the entire time. Thank you, VisaArts

We booked a pottery class for all the girls in our family and decided to go with VisArts. Pricing was reasonable. The class started late and still ended on time. Our instructor kept going on about how hard it is and scared us. She started the demonstration while we waited. After about 1:15h in to our 2h class we finally had the chance to try it out. We followed another step by step direction from our instructor. Almost everyone was only able to finish one product while we were allowed to make two (but only take one home?). Anyways. The instructor just spend most of the time talking and going back and forth about possible scenarios which didn’t happen. She also seemed annoyed by our questions. The pottery making itself was fun and I enjoyed the time with my family but I wouldn’t go back.

This venue is an absolute gem! Mary and all the staff were wonderful to work with. The rooftop ceremony location is modern and gorgeous, with beautiful sail-like covers and some art-deco buildings in the background. Cocktail and reception area look so nice, especially in the evening with the panoramic windows. Comfortable for 60 guests without feeling like we couldn't fill the space, but still plenty of space to spare!

Place full of entertainment, specially on weekends - lots of people enjoying picnic places or playing tennis, kids playing soccer, enthusiasts flying drones and more. This park was a hidden jewel for its size. It looks to be a small neighborhood exclusive park nestled comfortably at the center of the surrounding community, however once you get there you discover much more. Without mentioning the Gridlined football field, the tennis courts the trail or the basketball court, the park itself has some pretty cool amenities for your children. A Seesaw, multiple sized swings, two age appropriate jungle Jim’s with a rock climbing wall, and this cool merry go round thing. I visited this neighborhood park last weekend and was impressed with its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and variety of recreational options. Looking for a place where you can commune with nature while getting your exercise on paths long enough that you don’t get bored in five minutes of repeating your route? Or a place where you can still commune with nature while seated on a bench or picnic table? Dawson Farm Park could be a great choice for you. Use a wheelchair or coming with a friend who does? Note that one of the two tables under the pavilion has benches shorter than the table, leaving enough room for up to two wheelchair users to sit right next to someone on the bench. However, also note that the park had enough of a slope in some places to present a challenge even for me as a walking person. There may be ways to work around these challenges that I’ve overlooked. I won’t presume to advise more experienced wheelchair users whether this park is manageable for you, this is just to ensure you’re making informed choices. People who are new to using a wheelchair might want to consider bringing along a companion on your first visit until you decide if this park is workable for you. Yes, there’s a playground for kids. There are two picnic tables but no cooking grills that I saw.

I have been a member of the First Line Training Center for nearly a year and I am thoroughly impressed with the facility and trainers. My child's skills have improved greatly, thanks to the excellent training provided by Nick and Levy. Although their online scheduling system is still new and experiencing difficulties, they are actively working on resolving the issue. The clinics offered at the center are superb, almost like having private lessons.
My son and I love the place, his skating skills improved tremendously. The staff are just amazing, they all care allot, they make me feel that I'm the only client that they ever had. I cant THANK enough Sandy "the Owner" how much attention and detail that he pays to my son hockey skills.

Place shuttered one day and no one seems to respond to emails/phone calls. Sandy Cohan (owner) should really take care of the issues created by this. At least refund monies to families that are out.

BUYER BEWARE - currently out $1,600!!!!!! Unprofessional and unethical. First Line made unauthorized monthly charges of $149.00 from April 2018 until March 2020!! We never received any communication from First Line that we were being charged every month for 2 years!!!! We originally purchased for our son 3 months (Jan -March 2018) use of the facility! We never opened an account or membership or authorized these charges!! The owner still has not fully paid back what is owed to us.

We have been members for almost a year and LOVE the facility and the trainers. Our son has improved tremendously and we can tell say it was because of the Nick and Levy's training. The facility is still new and struggling with the online scheduling :( but I know they are working on it. We take advantage of the clinics, they are like private lessons. Keep up the good work! My sons favorite was skating with TJ Oshie!

Tremendous facility. Every imaginable option for training — and then some. Experienced top-notch coaching like Jim Gaudet, a pleasure to talk with and learn from. Sandy is great. Always making players and families feel welcome. Regularly giving suggestions on how to best take advantage of what the training center has to offer. And that’s a lot.

Abruptly closed the facility without prior notice to customers. We had prepaid $1400 for unused services. Owner and staff will not respond to phone calls or email.

We stumbled into this place while visiting the Rockville ice rink. We just took a quick tour, but this is a great concept for a hockey training center. $125 / month for unlimited visits. I can't think of a better way to supplement on ice team practices. First Line is all synthetic ice and small rinks, perfect for working on individual skills. I wish there was a place like this in my home town.

They keep charging me monthly dues even though we haven't been members for months!! Very unethical. After numerous emails back and forth, they did refund the $. Keep an eye on your visa statements!

Il Pizzico is a renowned Italian restaurant located in Rockville, MD, known for its authentic cuisine and cozy ambiance. Since 1990, this popular establishment has been serving up homemade pastas, seafood dishes, and an extensive selection of wines. The name "Il Pizzico" reflects Chef Enzo Livia's philosophy of using just the right touch of herbs and spices to enhance flavors.
It's the best Italian restaurant I have had in DC/MD area! Everything was absolutely delicious! They do require a casual formal dress code. Highly recommend!

Good...very proud of their Italian authenticity. I would not say it is the most or best, but they are proudly focused and a great place to tuck away for dinner. A little $$$ for the portions. It is likely due to specific ingredients....and clientele. Ps. Olive spread for the bread is a must!!!! I've ordered it to go it's so good.

Wonderful Italian restaurant, a bit cramped space wise but great atmosphere. Authentic feel but menu/ style was a bit difficult to understand service could have explained better and price vs portions was high but food tasted great. Overall very good experience

When it comes to a unique dining experience, this is the place to truly enjoy the food, the service and the atmosphere. A truly authentic Italian cuisine that offers an outstanding art in culinary style with amazing presentation, flavors and textures. Great wine selection and delicious cocktails. If you are looking for a place that offers fine dining, this is it.

If carbs are your best friend and you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine, then I recommend giving Il Pizzico a shot. Their bread and pasta dishes are out of this world as my boyfriend would put it. Plus, their service is nice and convenient. I especially like that you can write nice notes in the bathroom. Granted, the lots are small so I recommend making a reservation and coming in early if you can. Otherwise, if you’re looking to expand your foodie pallet, then please give Il Pizzico a try. My family and I came here to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday and it was worth it. 😊 🎂 🎉

By far the best fine dining restaurant in MoCo. List of specials changes regularly and the regular menu is varied and on point. Wine list is diverse and very well priced (especially for Montgomery County where the government controls distribution). Dining room is very well run with all staff knowing their job and often their customers. Make a rez! Update 5/9/25 - Fab dinner last night from the food/wine to our server Angela who works hard, has humor (and is Italian of course) … everything really great, which many restaurants can’t do on a weekend night. Enzo/Sandra/Milton… keep up the good work!

Oddly nestled between a Psychic and a Mandarin Express in a strip mall, Il Pizzico makes up for it when you enter inside. They do their best to make it an elegant and welcoming experience, even if it's a big short on the actual dining outcomes. My daughter and I enjoyed our dinner overall. Their crostini rotates in terms of toppings and likely worth a try, ours was a decent one. We both really enjoyed their Arancine rivisitate (traditional Sicilian rice croquettes, filled with meat and mozzarella with Taleggio cheese fonduta), they were the standout. For my entree, I had the much lauded Ravioli di funghi al pistacchio (Ravioli filled with mushrooms and ricotta served with pistachio-cream sauce) and it was good but a bit underwhelming as the sauce lacked any memorable flavor. My daughter had some of their house made pasta with an Alfredo sauce and she enjoyed it quite a bit. Dessert was completely forgettable unfortunately. Our server was friendly and courteous. It would have been nice if the bussers cleared our plates and tidied our table between courses, things just sort of piled up for a while. Overall, a nice entry in the area and worth a try.

So , this is just a wonderful place, and you will be soooo surprised if you are willing to pass the gas station and street mall setting. This restaurant shocked me. I would never expect what I found. The location is not so extravagant, so you are not expecting much, but as soon as you cross the front door, the dream begins. The table clothes are the whites and most crisp, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very nice. The restaurant is very quaint. Food is super tasty and very well presented. Every single dish we ordered, I was super happy with. We started strong and finished strong. It's one of those places you just walk on, and you want to keep coming back. I very much recommend it if you are up for nice Italian food.

Nice large outdoor mall. Beautifully built and looks luxurious. There is even a hotel in the mall. Lots of restaurants to choose from and plenty of stores. They have lake where you can paddle boat and a feeder that you can feed the fish! On the other side of the lake there is carrousel and a large playground. They do have parking garages but the layout of the one I parked in was confusing because it’s not all one way that I am used. It’s one way on some and two ways in other parts and you’re all over the place. Almost missed the exit on the way out since there wasn’t a sign pointing the exit out. Other than that it was a great visit and I would I return again

Movement Rockville (previously known as Earth Treks Rockville) is a local chain establishment that offers various terrains for climbing and a space for strength and cardio training. The staff is diverse, knowledgeable, friendly, and inclusive. The gym features a range of bouldering problems, lead-climbing specific areas, weight room facilities, and an equipment shop along with snacks. It follows strong COVID protocols and is family-friendly.
this gym is a staple in our community. If you climb, you know, movement Rockville, or maybe earth treks, which was the gym that this was before movement purchased it. personally, I'm happy with movements acquisition because I feel as a Jim member. I now get more out of my membership. I love visiting the other locations and having gyms nearby when I travel because movement is such a big company. I've also noticed improvements in the climbing areas as well as the other areas of the gym even the bathrooms got renovated at this gym. The setting is fun here and it's a good spot for beginners or advanced climbers.

We had an amazing time at Movement Climbing! I came with my two daughters, and we all had such a great experience. What made our day truly special was our instructor, Rafael. He was absolutely the best — kind, encouraging, and super professional. Thanks to him, my kids felt confident and had a lot of fun. We’re definitely coming back!

Awesome place to rock climb! This place has literally everything you need to have a blast. This place also has a gym to workout and to work on your grip. They also sell cloths, climbing shoes, harness and energy drinks. 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. Great customer service is also provided by the staff! Everyone is literally friendly and nice. 2. Climbs that accommodate all age range from easy to difficult! Different section have different heights. Super fun climbs! 3. There is a gym that is under renovation but they literally have dumb bells, bench press and many more machines. There is also grip strength equipment as well. 4. Bouldering is awesome as well and super fun. Every so often they switch it up and it’s fun. 5. Price is relatively decent for what you get. I pay 108 per month and i think it’s worth it if you go often.
T B — Google review
We love it at movement. Been to many other gyms and find they do a great job. From the setting to the front desk staff to the classes great job. One recommendation I have would be to have some maintenance on the bouldering holds brushing off the holds. My 14yo has tactile issues and doesn’t use chalk. After the hordes descend the chalk builds up and the holds have significant chalk buildup. Thanks again, the caring shows through.
Chris H — Google review
Great experiences climbing here! The staff is great, the vibe is chill, and facility is clean. It is safe and people are courteous. There are a variety of different climbing paths for different skill levels. The bouldering is fun as well. It's not the largest climbing gym in the area, but definitely offers a great space and nice facilities.

I visited Movement while on a work trip to Washington. Came in the evening after work commitments, and asked about auto belays. The guy who worked there was AMAZING: Said, no auto belays but there's a group meeting every Wednesday at 6:30, in 10 minutes, who buddy partner for belayers. So if you wait 10 minutes, I can add you to their group booking and get you half price AND pair you with a belayer. Sure enough, I joined the group, the leader asked everyone's grades and experience and paired me with an outstanding and incredibly nice climber who knocked off 5.11 after 5.11 for 2 1/2 hours. Awesome to be made so welcome on a random turn up to a gym.

Growing up with strict Catholic grandparents in Pennsylvania, I was fortunate to discover a Catholic Church nearby that shared the same name as a cherished church from my childhood. Unfortunately, the original church had been demolished. The new St. Mary's Church evoked countless memories, featuring magnificent cathedral ceilings, intricately carved woodwork, and divine paintings.
St. Mary’s Church, Rockville, MD – A Welcoming and Peaceful Place of Worship St. Mary’s Church in Rockville, MD, is a deeply cherished place of worship, particularly among the Filipino community. Its serene and solemn atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for quiet reflection and meaningful prayer. The church is beautifully maintained, with an interior that inspires reverence and devotion. One of the standout features is the ample parking space, which is convenient for attendees, especially during busy services or community gatherings. The church fosters a strong sense of belonging, and its diverse congregation adds to its welcoming vibe. Whether you’re attending Mass, joining a religious celebration, or simply seeking a moment of peace, St. Mary’s Church is a sanctuary worth visiting. Its accessibility and connection to the community make it a treasured spiritual hub in Rockville.

If you're into architecture and history, St. Mary's is worth a visit. A historic parish, the 1817 church still stands next to a uniquely designed modern building. Park in the spacious lot outside and walk to the cemetery. Buried there is the great American author F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda.

Today I been to st Mary’s Chruch for Ash Wednesday mass . Was really felt light heart and blessed after finishing the holy mass today . Well maintained and more spacious for the public who comes daily there . Specially they have a seperate cabin kinda space for the people who come with babies and kids so that they won’t disturb the mass . Already planned My Easter celebration also here . Highly recommend Chruch from my side .

The cemetery is cool because F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zelda Fitzgerald are there (their daughter, too!) But the path around the graves could be more clear. I appreciate the old feel of the place, but it should still be carefully maintained for the people who visit.
Sara M — Google review
Dedicated priests for this large transient and smaller long term community. Mass follows traditional ordinary form with some infrequent Latin substituted. Always welcoming and faithful. Well cared for church buildings.
Kaytee S — Google review
It's a nice church and the choir mass at 10:15 on Sundays is wonderful, once you get in after finding a parking spot. Parking is a major issue here as the church is surrounded by 2 state highways, the Metro tracks and a private driveway so there is no off-premise parking. If you double park here like many parishioners find themselves having to do, especially on the holy days like Easter, you take a chance on drawing the ire of someone who left Mass early since at St. Mary's, like at most Catholic churches many parishioners here think the Mass is over after they receive Communion and dash to their cars so they won't miss the early pickings at the buffet and finding this on your car afterwards...

Visitors can park in either an open-air colonial parking lot or an underground parking lot at Cambria Suites. While the theater validates parking, after 2 hours, there is a maximum charge of $12 in the underground lot.
Honestly thought from looking at the Google photo of this theatre that it would be super old inside and have crappy chairs. We had the best time together with the kids here and enjoyed our movie. Only thing was nobody checked our tickets and once you get comfortable amd into the movie people staryed getting up to sneak people in. Pray for this generation! The BEST theater in the area. Great to have a theater that actually cares about the customer and the experience!

Very accommodating staff. The young man helped us find an appropriate movie with seating for my entire party. We saw Superman. The refreshments were VERY BIG (even the small) and the seating was comfortable (reclining seats). The way the seating is built, it makes it difficult to see behind you and in front of you, offering privacy while you watch the movie. We really enjoyed our time! BONUS: Although there was only available parking in the garage, it was only $4 until midnight and there were plenty of eateries within walking distance.

When I took the pictures one guy who sells the popcorn ( he is probably the boss there :-) asked me why I'm taking pictures. I politely explained, even though I didn't have it. By the way popcorn and snacks are good! We didn't expect the slushies to be so big.

A good brewery in the area ! Loved the options and choices of beers they offer. Ideal for people who love IPA beers. Personal favorite is garden a must try hoppy and haze. The food options are limited but can bring your food here. Should try if you are a beer lover. Have new beers every couple of weeks

Very comfortable atmosphere. The brews they had available were all pretty good. The stout wasn't as strong as I typically prefer, but it had some good flavors to it. I ended up taking home a growler of it. The location is easy to find, and there's plenty of board and card games available to play. Food trucks will be available in the coming weeks with a rotation of tastes, and I'm looking forward to that. Overall, an enjoyable place that I'll be visiting often.

This place is ok if you live locally, but I wouldn’t travel far for it. Over a quarter of the beers are unavailable for flights. The beers themselves were okay, but I’ve tried other breweries that were better in my eyes. I’m not sure if I just made a bad selection, which is why I’m still giving 4 stars. The atmosphere is decent. I like the decorations on the wall and how you could see the tanks; it adds a nice touch to the dining room.

I went here a few months ago for the first time. It was a beautiful day and packed. The inside space is large and lots of room to sit including bar seating. There was a large draft menu to choose from. The staff was nice but it was busy so they weren’t very chatty. I did not like how the staff did not explain that the live music I heard was in the back and how to access it. They pretty much acted as if it didn’t exist. There was a huge shaded tent out back and even a pour station. There was a decent amount of to go beer too which I like to see in breweries.

What’s wrong with this place? Nothing!! the staff is great, very friendly, helpful and just all around great people. The beer selection is fantastic too. If you want to just chill and have a brew this is it. Mike drop!

This place looks to be HUGE in the MD craft beer scene. They had 5 beers when I stopped in, so they are still ramping up. Looks like they will be running 12+ taps when they get to full production. The place is still a little rough around the edges but the beer was great as well as the servers. My favorite is the Grisette Vin Blanc today. They also had another Grisette, a New England IPA, a Stout, and a collaboration beer with Saints Row. All very good. Can't wait to taste all the great beer they will be pumping out soon.

Excellent customer service. We were served our beer in a fashion that took in to account how each beer would compliment the following beer we drank. This brewery understands the importance of providing customers with knowledge not commonly known about craft beer. Every sample of beer in the flight was exceptional. Personally I prefer the “Bobcat” over all others. This is a place worth making a drive to if you’re not close by.

The Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Theater is a spacious and well-maintained performing arts venue located at Montgomery College. It hosts various professional plays, concerts and dance performances that are highly recommended to attend. The theater boasts excellent acoustics and ample parking facilities making it easily accessible for all visitors. While snacks and water are available for purchase, alcoholic beverages or smoking are strictly prohibited on the premises due to it being situated in a school environment.
I recently attended a performance at the Montgomery College performing arts center, and I was thoroughly impressed. The center has about 530 seats. The venue itself looked new and was beautiful, with comfortable seating and excellent sound quality. The stage was big enough to hold up to 150 performers. There are plenty of free parking space available as well. Overall, I highly recommend the performing arts center.

Tartan Terrors Shows was amazing, incredible tunes, great performance and energy
Anna G — Google review
It’s a really good theatre and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. It just depends on the show you’re seeing: if you’re seeing a ballet, I think it’s better for you be in the middle to the back of the theatre to get a full view of the scene. Downside could be the parking-if there are other campus programs going on the same time as the show you’re seeing, it’ll be hard to find parking. However if your show is the only program happening on that part of campus, parking is amazing!

Beautiful facility for dance recitals! Ample parking with easy access to the building.

The one man on staff was very rude at the Vessel Dance show on June 22 between 1pm and 4pm. Yelling at the guests and vendors to pack up and get out even though we still had 20 minutes left. Threatening the Photo guy telling him the lights were too hot and if he didn't turn it off immediately he would. Never felt so threatened and disrespected. Not good at all.

This is an auditorium which is also available to external functions. It has lots of seating, good audio and spot light control and a green room. There is free parking outside.

Second Story Books is a long-standing shop that offers an extensive collection of used and rare books, as well as maps and prints. The store's enormous warehouse in Rockville is a treasure trove for book lovers, with a staggering wealth of out-of-print, used, and rare books. Visitors can spend hours exploring the space, which is organized in a 'disorganized' fashion, and enjoy the friendly service from the staff. Additionally, customers have praised the management and staff for their exceptional assistance.
Accidentally found this place close to our hotel. Variety, prices are great. Spent two hours there without even noticing. 30 dollars for 10 great books. I wish we didn’t have a weight limit for our luggage, otherwise I would have bought much more.
SOROKA F — Google review
Such a huge bookstore! Loved how evening was 50% off, it made browsing the aisle more fun. Will need to come back soon!
Ella B — Google review
Second Story Books is worth the drive or long Metro ride from Washington, D.C. Housed in a large warehouse within walking distance of the Twinbrook Metro station, Second Story Books houses over 500,000 used books on literally every topic. Want three aisles of kids books like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys? Go here. Need every book C.S. Lewis wrote? Stop by Second Story Books. After visiting nearby ZavaZone with our seven-year-old daughter, we stopped into Second Story for a few minutes, which easily turned into an hour. Every book is 50% off. We left with 15 books for just under $21. The books are well organized and maps help navigate visitors to each section, but know that the warehouse's narrow book aisles can get cramped. It adds to the appeal! There are even harder-to-find rooms with other items like posters for sale. They also sell CDs and DVDs. Staff are helpful. I lost my wallet and within an hour a staff member messaged me on Facebook letting me know they found it and it was safe at the checkout desk. If you have used books, Second Story Books buys them from people.
Austin G — Google review
Fantastic assortment of books that are sorted a fashion that facilitates find-ability. The staff is also quite knowledgable and helpful.
Katie H — Google review
Excellent prices with a wide variety of subjects. The books themselves are anywhere from very good to like-new condition. Locating book subjects is fairly easy, but of course you can ask the helpful staff. They also sell posters, comic books, old magazines, CDs, maps and a small amount of LPs. Ample parking and open everyday.

I'd give this business a "0" if I could. First and last time I'll try doing business with this store. Went to extraordinary lengths to deliver 5 crates of books from my lifetime collection and had an awful experience. I spoke with Dylan first of the week about bringing over the 50 book limit along with 80 CDs that cost me about $1000 retail over the years. Dylan tells me I have to come in their limited window of time 10AM to 12PM weekdays that for most of us is business hours and difficult. Two days later, I showed up 11:00AM to work with Dylan, he comes out to my car and gives a passing glace to the 5 boxes of books and declines hardly looking at the titles. He then takes another 2 minutes to glance over the 80 CDs without looking at the genres/artists and offers $30. I tell him I'll think about it and bringing my collection to another area store to consider. He unloads a temper walks away saying his offer is no longer and "I've worked with people like you." Acting like a juvenile with a bad temper he goes on to say "I made a very generous offer and I've been very accommodating coming to your car." REALLY? I was honest to point out I'm considering another store, and I don't have the right to consider other options?? I've never encountered this from any business! I spend hours gathering 5 boxes of books and CD's worth almost a $1000, come to his store during a very difficult time on weekday morning, he spends 6 minutes at my car, hardly looks at the books, glances at the CD's and offers $30. Where's this juvenile accommodating? $30 generous for $1000 worth of CDs? As it turns out, I went to Dave's Oldies and got much better treatment, he was patient for my arrival at my convenience and made a better offer. I'll never go back to this store as they were very rude and unprofessional taking people for granted who make the effort to deliver their life collections with their tight restrictions. BETTER OPTIONS ELSEWHERE!

This is a wonderful pool at a very good location. There are two 25 meter lap lane pools, a leisure pool, two spas and a sauna that everyone can use. Unfortunately, the facility is getting old, something is always broken. Also, it would be nice to have more private showers and a private locker room area for those who don't feel comfortable undressing in front of everyone.
Vvv M — Google review
My kids spent 12-15 hours of training here. We love this facility when it comes to swimming and diving. We have the best set of [diving] towers. Besides that, the whole facility is in need of a face-lift.

Terrific pool and an even better value. $550 for an annual family membership can't be beat. I particularly enjoy swimming in the deep lanes, but appreciate that there are shallower lanes, too, as well as deep water running lanes, aquatics classes and lessons, a nice weight room--something for everyone. And the staff are always friendly and helpful.

This pool and all of Montgomery County Rec Pools are great well maintained pools to use, and are staffed by well trained professionals. Don’t let a negative review influence your decision to explore and enjoy these aquatic facilities. If you follow the advice from the negative reviews without checking out the pool for yourself then it’s your loss. I’ve using these pools throughout the county for over 30 yrs., so I think I know more than the few sniveling reviews made by some who actually always have to complain because it’s just who they are - grumpy hard to please complainers.

Great spot! Brought my family for some fun. The man in glasses was kind and explained how things worked since it was our first time visiting. We decided to order some pizza some issues occured, but The manager was transparent and managed to Take care of the situation. The mini golf was fun the games were fun. Would definitely recommend. I will say we went during a time where most families already left so we basically had the place to ourselves. When it was time to go then people started to pile in. If you can time it like we did. You'll have bounds more fun! Thanks Monster Mini golf team for taking care of us!

If I could give a 0 star I would, we came here last weekend at 9:35 PM to play mini-golf and they said the cut-off is 9:30 PM so this weekend we came at 9:20 PM since we aren’t available until after 9:00 PM for work and at first the hostess said sure but then picked up the phone said zero words then hung up saying her manager said no games past 9:15 PM. She clearly wasn’t talking to anyone but proceeded to inform her that last week they said 9:30 PM was the cut-off. She then picked up the phone, pressed zero buttons and proceeded to say “ya the manger says there are no exceptions, but you should try Top Golf”. No knock on the establishment, because I think it’s great, but to the owners that I hope are reading this, please hire works who give a damn and aren’t just trying to get off earlier than the advertised closing time.
Andrew N — Google review
Nice, place for a party or summer activities. Cool variety of online activity packages. We used the family package for $125+ taxes, which provided 1hr and 45min of summer fun. The pizza was good. Joe, a manager, was really nice and informative and a great host! Tammy, at the food bar, was nice and helped consolidate all points onto one card to make it easier to pick prizes for our group. Haven was patient and gave great customer service to help our kiddos pick our prizes. Overall games are updated for all ages starting at 3. The bathrooms were super clean and smelled good. We will go again. The games start at $1, a little high, but there are games that if levels are achieved quickly, then more time is given. So there is a balance. There is only two lanes for bowling, but it was down when we went. Next time, we may do the virtual thing, Lazer maze, and arcade. Check it out!

I'm giving Dawson's 5* in memoriam. I would come here while my kids were at swim practice nearby..... came here for pastry and coffee when they opened, or salad bar stuff and a beer during the day. staff always very nice and knowledgeable. they had a great selection with the earth-friendly and health-conscious customer in mind. organic produce, fresh meats and fish, amazing salad bar, beer and wine, 4-stool bar, eating area, book area, a coffee shop..... this place had it all.

Been coming here for 5+ years, unfortunately, won’t be returning. The owner racially profiled me and my cousin visiting from Switzerland, with intense following, circling around, and pointing at us with a colleague, the customer service that rang me up was not surprised by this behavior. Completely unacceptable. These stores don’t belong in the DMV or Montgomery County. They should take their business elsewhere cause they clearly don’t value diversity.

Came here for the first time with a friend and wow! I was amazed at the quality and how delicious everything was. I got the Mountain View and the French toast latte and it was probably one of the best breakfast meals I’ve ever had. I wish I lived here so I could get it every day

I recently took my daughter to Call Your Mother Bagel Shop, and it was an absolute hit, especially with her! The vibrant atmosphere and the delicious aroma of fresh bagels immediately made us feel welcome. She was completely captivated by the bustling energy of the place, and watching the bagels being made was a fun experience for her. We shared a few different bagel sandwiches, and each one was perfectly chewy with generous fillings. Seeing her light up and declare it her new favorite bagel spot was the best part. It's clear that Call Your Mother isn't just serving great food, but also creating a wonderful, family-friendly experience that we'll definitely be revisiting soon!

I’ve been to Call Your Mother a couple times over the past 5 years, each time hoping it gets better. The store itself is cute and the service is wonderful, but the breakfast sandwiches fall flat every time for me. They look delicious, but after a few bites it’s very obvious that almost every ingredient is either microwaved or prepped in bulk and not made fresh to order. I had to pick all the bacon out of my sandwich because it was floppy and starting to look all one greyish brown color (as bacon does when it’s been sitting out or reheated). They also conveniently hide where they make the sandwiches. If you add avocado it is not fresh, but rather lemony guacamole. It is good for the experience, but not worth the $10 if you go more than once.
Katya A — Google review
Good deli in north bethesda. Sandwiches were very tasty but on pricey side. Loved the mozz on the turkey Pesto sand. $4.50 to add bacon on a sandwich? It was 2 slices of thin bacon. Can't even see it in pic. I'd return if in area but $20 for sandwich, chips and a water is on the high side.

Call Your Mother Deli makes you think of doing just that, as you sink your taste buds into flavorful, warm, hand crafted sandwiches that are so comforting that only Mom could have made them for you. This is food that is fast without being "fast food". Thoughtful ingredients with vegetarian Challah bread option and vegan rye bread options. All bagel options are vegetarian with vegetarian bagel sandwich options and both vegan and vegetarian schmearz. The bright open decor offers a light atmosphere, and the upbeat classic oldies are sure to uplift your spirit, leaving you refreshed to take on the rest of your day. This is a must return lunch stop for quality sandwich options.

Decided to give CYM Deli a try and ordered through the Toast Takeout App. Little did I pay attention to the fact that I placed an order at the wrong location. I ordered for pick up through their Bethesda Trolley location instead of Pike & Rose. When I got to the Pike & Rose location and told the cashier, she told me they would just let the other location know to cancel the order and made the sandwich I wanted without hesitation. Customer Service is a 10/10! I ordered one of their signature sandwiches - The Sun City with bacon. For someone who is not a fan of bagels, it was D E L I C I O U S. The bagel was soft and easy to bite into. Everything blended so well; I highly recommend. The restaurant is so cute. Everything is pink and they had flowers decorated everywhere. I will definitely add this to one of my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurants.

Clear Skies Meadery, located near Rockville Town Center, is a renowned destination for its wide selection of handcrafted meads aged to perfection. The meadery offers a variety of house-made meads utilizing local honey and other flavorings like fruits, spices, grains, or hops. The interior provides a nice ambiance for hanging out and enjoying the great flavors on tap. While they don't have a kitchen at this location, they do offer a small but delicious food menu.
Wonderful place. Found it by due to Groupon. After our first 2 sample flights from Groupon, we tried several others they had on tap. Would really recommend for anyone who enjoys mead or would like to try some. They have something for everyone. There's also a great chicken and waffles place that will deliver for free. Before going there if you check their web page you'll see they have a lot of interesting events. From game nights to live music.

Nice spot, but with a few improvements could be great. The good: The selections of meades were great. The service was excellent and friendly. The space was mid-size, big enough to hold a small event. There is a 10% veterans discount. The charcuterie board we had was good too. The bad: There wasn't any music playing and could use some ambiance playing in the background. There wasn't much on the menu but a few small bites. The space, although mid-sized, could use some separation in the view from the back, which makes it look disorganized. Although not necessarily their fault, there is not enough parking.

If you’re not a mead fan cuz they tend to be super sweet, then you’re going to love trying this place because they pride themselves on dry meads. Enjoy a flight or two for tasting, or a cocktail made with them, or a beer. Take a look at their schedule for entertainment and themed activity nights

Did an escape room here with my large family today and it was an excellent experience! Ren was our ranger and she was an amazing help. I highly recommend dropping in for a family or friend outing!

AWESOME time! We did the ski cabin room and it was really exciting. Two of our teammates were doing a room for the first time and Ren was super helpful in explaining it to them. She also gave good hints (which we used a little too much) that nudged us in the right direction without giving away the answer. 10/10 experience and I will definitively come back to try another room.
Keyan B — Google review
We were visiting the Rockville area from SF and wanted to show my mom and brother what escape rooms were to have some quality family time. We did the detention themed room and it was so much fun! Rodd was super friendly, helpful, and patient with our questions (no matter how strange) 😂. The puzzles were interesting and clever and this was a top notch quality escape room situated in the suburbs or Maryland. We definitely will be coming back for the camp themed one (which we heard is even more challenging!)
Crystal W — Google review
My group had so much fun! The detention room was definitely challenging but only required a few hints. Our substitute teacher Ren was very helpful if we required assistance. Definitely recommend if you need some entertainment!
Lauren A — Google review
We were a little lost at first so Ren gave us a fair amount of clues, but as we progressed, we got the hang of it and she let us take the reins. Our 7-person team was a mix of people who enjoyed escape room games (but never won) and newbies. The game consisted of different types of puzzles so everyone could participate. Best of all, we Escaped from Detention!!

We did the cabin puzzle and had a great time! Ren was awesome, she gave us a great balance of puzzling it out and giving the right amount of help when we needed it. The puzzles were fun and a good level of challenge.

Badlands is a fantastic venue suitable for children of all ages as well as their caregivers. The facility boasts exceptional cleanliness, an amazing staff, and an array of activities to keep everyone entertained. These include a climbing mountain, slides, building camps and forts, building stations, a cinema room, and science exhibits. While it may seem more geared towards older kids, even toddlers can have a blast here. In addition to the fun-filled play areas, Badlands also offers party rooms for special occasions.
We were recently here for a birthday party and our son had so much fun! The divided areas for each sit down table are gave off a cute modern camping vibe. As I parent I was thrilled to be at an indoor climbing kids party where I didn’t have to take off my shoes. Staff was friendly and prepared with lots of clipboards and waivers so that the front sign in desk didn’t get crowded or backed up, that really made a difference. We’d love to be back!

I took my two-year-old son here on a Tuesday morning during spring break. Surprisingly, even though there were quite a few kids around, the place never felt crowded or overwhelming. The staff we're all incredibly polite and my son had a blast. We purchased discount admission through certificate and well be purchasing more vouchers to return for future trips. I especially love that the entire area has something for kids of all ages. We enjoyed the toddler storytime and sensory bins in the back room, and he loved running through the trees and exploring the slides and tunnel.

Great spot for kids of all ages and the adults that care for them. Facility is incredibly clean, staff is wonderful and there is so much do! Climbing mountain, slides, building camps and forts, building stations, cinema room and science exhibits. It sounds like it's geared more towards older kids but I took my 2.5 yo and everyone had a great time! Also have party rooms. They have a great little cafe that serves decent food for a decent price. Also serves beer, wine and coffee drinks. Entrance fee is inexpensive and parents are free! Highly recommend to anyone with kids looking for a place to play indoors!
Elizabeth S — Google review
Update after a few more visits: if you buy a membership then kids are $10 and adults are free. I did this for the month of December & we have come multiple times this month. My original review below is still pretty valid for a non-membership weekend visit My 4 year old loved it, but I thought it was over priced, $25 for two hours. If we lived near by and it was raining we might go back, but a lot of local parks have more amenities. The cafe is a nice idea, pretty good food, but very unorganized.
Joshua — Google review
Expensive but worthy. The kids will have so much fun on this indoor playground. Mountain, LEGO room, music, fake trees and beautiful rooms for private parties. They even have a coffee shop where the parents can hang out while their kids play nearby. Clean , staff is friendly. Weekdays are the best.
Sheila M — Google review
Nice big squishy place for the kids to run on AstroTurf. Fake rock mountain to climb and slide down. 4 private party rooms. You can do building and experiment activities in the workshop & there are even classes for a fee. Tall fake trees to run in between that separate the learning "amphitheater" area. The space feels like stepping into the Teletubbies show without the flowers & bunnies hopping, although there is a small area with a few small caged animals. The have a cafe that offers a variety of adult salads, sandwiches & pizza for the kids. Wonderfully they also have a wine & beer license so you can relax while you run around with your preschooler. There is about 20 staff members keeping busy. Preferably they should all wear the same bright colored tshirts so it doesn't appear random strangers chasing your child. Overall a great place to come when the weather is cold or raining. There's enough space to add some more climbing so the kids don't get bored too fast as really this is for a 5 and under crowd. The place is a little overpriced but with all the staff, maintenance and insurance, I'm sure the money takes care of the place. You'll have to sign a waiver on the way in. Expect to spend about $50 for 1 adult and child for entry and buying lunch. There needs to be hand sanitizer in the workshop and the cafe, or some kind of hand washing right there with the food and drinks.
Sylvia T — Google review
My 5- and 3- year olds have a great time here and go home tired. Aside from the climbing areas, they offer activities throughout the day. There have food, coffee, wine, & beer for purchase. They've also added seating areas. We visit during the week when it's not too busy. It's can get expensive, but a good option when it's too hot, cold, rainy outside. My feedback is that it was a bit warm inside and they could maybe offer less expensive entrance fee options once a week.
Monica A — Google review
This place rocks. Very clean, fun for a wide range of ages, lots of different rooms and activities to keep them engaged and a nice food and beverage option for a long day. The toddler time during the week is awesome with a really fun staff and things for smaller ones. It's on the higher end price wise for play places we visit but I think worth it for the sort of upkeep and staff they have. Thanks, Badlands!

The Silver Spring B&O Railroad Station is a restored historical landmark dating back to the 1940s. The exterior and original decor have been preserved, and it offers an exhibition showcasing the history of Silver Spring with a model of the nearest blocks along Georgia Avenue. There's also space for children to play, and it's free to visit with a small parking lot available.
Restored station has history of Silver Spring on the display with small exhibition, model of nearest blocks along Georgia Avenue, place for kids to play. There is a small parking lot and place is free to visit. It can be rented for private events and open to the public first Saturday of the month from 10 AM to 4PM. To find the place - It's by metro bridge over Georgia Avenue, on your right coming to DC.
Dimitri I — Google review
They are open on the 1st Saturday of the month. It's a great low-key place to bring your kids. They can play with a wooden train set, listen to live music, and trainspot. There is a fenced in area (so you can let the kids run around safely) right next to the tracks where you can see the Metro and freight trains pass by.
Elizabeth S — Google review
Really neat space that shows the history of Silver Spring, a few model trains, and seeing the station people used to use to catch the B&O train. They host an open house with different groups displaying model trains every 1st Saturday of the month. Great for families and adults.

They have a great model railroad layout there.

Won't be booking a party there anymore. Don't even have to encourage my friends and family not to either. The place is nice, but the pressure from the employee makes the experience overall a failure. Not to mention, the place has a old musty smell, the Wi-Fi didn't work halfway through the party and no compensation. NEVER AGAIN!

I took the train in Silver Spring twice back in 1975. It was a nice place and the atmosphere was really from the sixties. I think the basic fare was 3.00 dollars. Richard Lange

The ZavaZone Rockville amusement center is an enjoyable facility for entertaining children. However, it would be preferable if the opening hours were extended, especially during summer vacation. The staff members appear to be young, possibly high school or university students, and often engage in personal conversations rather than attending to customers. Even when they do assist customers, their level of care seems minimal and they only fulfill the basic requirements.
Great place to celebrate kids' birthday or just go to have fun with kids. There are several areas for parents, a comfortable sofas and massage chairs. Love the little store for quick snacks and good hot coffee. Staff was very productive, professional, helpful, and welcoming, as it was the first time here.
Natalia G — Google review
Was looking for a fun indoor place to take my youngest (9 years old) to burn off some energy. Did a search and Zavazone popped up. I purchased the tickets online for the time slot that we wanted to go. You can buy tickets for 1-3 hour admissions. It was a Saturday and we got there around 1:30pm and there were a lot of kids there and a few parties going on. My daughters don't like places that are too crowded but inside there were lots of different sections and we found an area that we could jump around. Inside there were a number of areas that included dodge ball, trampolines, ninja courses, basketball and others. My daughter and I particularly enjoyed the battle beam area where you stand on the beam and try to knock the other off. She was not into the ninja courses so we did not try that. There is lots to do here. If you have been to an Urban Air location, it's a scaled down version of that. We did find that the place started to clear out around 2:30-3pm. The only downside is parking is limited. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Awesome venue, with lots of exciting things to do. Staff are really friendly and the place is spot. Great for birthday parties. The new Interactive walls are awesome, such fun to play on. If you like climbing, jumping and Sport in general, this is the best place to go in Rockville
Rob M — Google review
To help celebrate our daughter's seventh birthday, we booked three tickets for two hours at ZavaZone to use the ropes course. It cost well over $100, but we had a blast. However, our daughter was not tall enough to do the ropes course (kids have to be at least 52 inches tall), so that was a bummer. Their website doesn't clearly note that so if you book tickets purely for the ropes course like we did, be warned. Despite the ropes course hiccup, we had a blast. There are lots of trampolines for jumping, basketball, dodgeball, and more. There's a ninja course, a parkour course, rock climbing, and other equipment. There are lockers for rent or free cubby holes for shoes. Hand sanitizer stations are throughout and a "Parents Zone" on the upper floor. There's a small store with snacks and a strategically placed ice cream freezer at the end of the Ninja course. The parking lot outside if large and free.

Nice time, dont have to do it again. Came for the high rope course personally. It was fun but takes less than 40 mins for adults. They have trampolines, rock climbing, parent zone for some quiet. The parking will be gone on a busy day.

First time visitor and fell in love! My kids loved it and were wore out after. Things for all ages to include adults who aren't participating in any activities. Definitely recommend intrusive parenting to ensure safety of the little children. Also, at no fault to the facility staff, there were a few rude or inattentive parents. But thankfully encountered way more friendly people then not. Overall, great atmosphere and family friendly. Would recommend for a last minute weekend plan or rainy day activity.

Tucked away in the charming neighborhood of Georgetown, Montrose Park is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. This expansive park features winding footpaths, lush open lawns, and well-maintained tennis courts, making it perfect for leisurely strolls or an active day outdoors. Once part of a historic estate owned by rope-making magnate Robert Parrott, Montrose Park retains its rich heritage with original landscaping elements like the Ropewalk and Boxwood Garden.
Spent a lovely spring day celebrating Mother's Day. There are tables and benches. There are swings and a playground for the kids and plenty of open space to throw a ball or frisbee.
Daniel M — Google review
In the north end of Georgetown is a large park that was once the estate of a ropemaker. He let neighbors picnic on his property and that legacy remains. The park became a public park in 1911. Today, it’s a large park with grassy areas with picnic tables, a playground, tennis courts and trails. One trail connects to those found in nearby Dumbarton Oaks Park, a public park behind Dumbarton Oaks Gardens.
Austin G — Google review
One of the best city parks I have ever encountered. My wife, dog and I love this place.
Cameron O — Google review
This is a hidden gem in DC. The upper, street level of the park is a large open grassy space that includes a playground area and tennis courts. Walk back from the street through all of the this and the park turns much more natural and descends the steep forested hillside to Rock Creek. There are multiple paths down ranging from narrow footpaths to a gravel road. At the bottom is the dog beach. Many dog parents (and some people parents) come here to let their dogs swim in rock creek. The water is rapid but there is an eddy along the beach area to let small dogs swim. Bigger dogs will swim out into the current after balls and sticks. I personally only bring my dog here when it hasn’t rained heavily for at least a week and lightly for at least two days. This is because there are numerous sewage outflows into Rock Creek and its tributaries upstream of this spot. The bacterial counts in this waterway can be extremely dangerous after a storm. Even when it hasn’t rained recently the water is not considered safe for human swimming. I wade in with my pup but I am careful not to let any in my mouth and to wash my hands throughly afterwards. The pup also gets a full bath with shampoo after every visit. Despite all this it’s still my favorite place to take him in DC. He loves to run around without fear of running into traffic and explore the rocky hillsides and forest.

Great park for all humans, small and big and their canine companions. My kids love the playground, dated but great climbing and swings. Great ball chasing fields next to playground and the trails of Rock Creek Park directly below.

Usually, I try to characterize a park before I go... Toddler-friendly? Picnic-friendly? Bbq options? Kids playground? Walk-friendly? What about hiking? Montrose Park has almost everything! This is nice because you have options (even with kids). Occasionally we end up at playgrounds where there isn't anything else and the adults are all just hanging around with nothing to do. At Montrose Park, you can have one adult watch kids while the other goes for a real walk! There were a number of people at the playground when we went. All adults was masked, which we found reassuring since we have little kids who can't be vaccinated yet. There was a fence to contain little ones, which was nice. It's all street parking. We didn't, however, have trouble finding parking (10 am on Sunday). It's a beautiful neighborhood. I didn't bring a stroller and I wish I had. It's not a long walk to the playground FOR AN ADULT 🙂. I'd like to go back and explore the walking trails. They looked beautiful and inviting!

If you’re looking for a lightly used spot where you’re probably alone or nearly so for part of your visit then this might not be it, at least not right after school lets out on a beautiful early spring day. Tons of kids and supervising adults today (March 2025), which is why I don’t include as many photos as I would like today because it’s hard to get a shot without unconsenting people in them. But you do get paved paths through the woods—not bad even when the trees are bare and probably gorgeous when the leaves grow in. There’s a bridge across a shallow creek, a few picnic tables, playground etc.

I'd be happy to help you write a Google review for Fallsgrove Stream Valley Park: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fallsgrove Stream Valley Park is an absolute gem in our community. From the moment you step foot in the park, you're surrounded by the beauty of nature. The well-maintained trails, lush greenery, and babbling streams make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I've enjoyed countless peaceful walks and hikes here, each visit revealing something new to appreciate. The park is also great for birdwatching, and I've spotted various species during my visits. The facilities are clean and well-kept, and the picnic areas provide a fantastic spot for family gatherings or a quiet lunch in nature. The playground is a hit with the kids, and it's wonderful to see families enjoying quality time together. Kudos to the dedicated team that keeps this park looking its best. Fallsgrove Stream Valley Park is a true community treasure, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a slice of serenity and natural beauty right in our neighborhood.

Looking for a place that feels secluded from residences or other obvious signs of civilization while walking on a paved path through the woods? Fallsgrove is a good place to check out for that. Want to also feel secluded while sitting at a picnic table or bench? Then this isn’t quite it. Facing one way you can see houses, vehicles, parking lot. Facing the other way you see the playground. If you’re here mostly to walk you could spend a good 10 minutes or more walking before you have to repeat. There is a small creed with a bridge over it. I did take a picture of the creek but didn’t realize until too late that I also got a shot of the battery recharger connected to my phone obscuring part of the view! The playground, gazebo and tennis courts are all in view of each other.

Escape Adventure DC offers a fantastic Zombie escape experience that is thoroughly enjoyable for kids, cousins, and even grandparents. This unique adventure sports venue stands apart from traditional escape rooms due to the inclusion of skilled actors in the room. Their impressive performances not only enhance the fun factor but also alleviate any potential frustrations that may arise from being stuck on a puzzle. Participants leave with beaming smiles on their faces, clearly having had an exhilarating time at Escape Adventure DC's thrilling zombie escapade.
Zombie escape was brilliant. Kids cousins and grandfather all had a really good time. A little different from a standard escape room because of the actors in the room. Wonderful place for toddlers and young children. The open Play promotes creativity and they offer snowday/holiday camps, nerf nights, and other events to give parents a break! You can't drop the kids off for open Play time and leave, but they do have a small kitchen and wifi where you can work while the little ones explore in this safe, fully enclosed environment. It's clean and well staffed. You can rent a small private room fire birthday parties, too.

Great place! Took my 5yo and 7yo there, both were on the older side of the kids playing there but they had so much fun! The place is clean (bathrooms as well), staff was putting back toys all the time, the electric cars were charged and kept getting charged while we visited. The place was not too crowded and within our play-time (10:30-12:30) the place emptied out because they were closing for a bit after to clean up I guess. We will go there again, I can highly recommend it!

Love this spot for my kids (ages 2 and 4)! Such a great place for them to pretend play, build, climb, sing and dance, and there was even a craft station. It’s a safe space for kids to explore, touch, and use their imagination. There are several different activities to fit individual interests. Little Towns kept my kids engaged and entertained for hours! Parking is easy, AC is good, bathrooms and facility are clean, and staff is friendly!
Lauren K — Google review
Update - I went back and adjusted my rating to the lowest possible, based on the response from this place. Clearly it’s run by amateurs who haven’t heard about customer service.. While I do have more to share, I won’t engage with you guys since you obviously are not interested in ensuring customers’ satisfaction and hearing constructive feedback. Sadly, we had a poor experience at Little Towns. My toddler was really looking forward to a friend’s birthday celebration, but the party was poorly managed. The concept and the venue itself are quite cool, although a bit rundown and in need of occasional deep cleaning. Parents — make sure to bring grippy socks for your kids (and some for yourselves too), as the mats in a few rooms are quite slippery. We both fell more than once in the Georgetown Cupcake room, where the floors/mats were especially slippery. Regarding the party itself — while I respect that parties have specific start and end times, the venue’s policies aren’t very customer-friendly. If your party is scheduled for 2:30 PM, you will not be allowed in a minute earlier. For a large group, just unloading, taking off shoes, and settling in takes time. Add bad weather or a baby in tow, and it becomes genuinely inconvenient. The lack of customer service continued throughout the event. There was minimal communication from the staff, and the kids were largely left to roam without guidance. While free play can be great, in a party setting it becomes chaotic. Unlike other play venues we’ve attended, there was no structured transition to group activities — for example, when it was time to sing Happy Birthday, the children were scattered all over, and no real effort was made to gather them in an engaging way. Access to the party room was restricted, which made things confusing and frustrating for the kids — a few even had full meltdowns because they didn’t understand why they couldn’t enter certain areas. With better communication, supervision, and a little maintenance, Little Towns could really live up to its potential as an educational and fun space. As it stands, though, it felt more like a rundown playroom in need of attention.

Little Towns is my go-to indoor play spot for my 3 year old! Facility is large, clean, and with a wide variety of play spaces. The employees are nice and always visibly working hard to maintain the space and care for customers. I’ve also attended birthdays at Little Towns and they’ve been great! The party room is bright and clean and the attending staff is attentive. We love Little Towns and will be visiting for years to come!

We just had my daughter’s 4th birthday party there today and everyone had an absolute blast! The space itself is awesome, so much for kids to do and explore and the coordination for a party was incredible! Ahead of the party all they requested from me was some basic party details (theme/color/were we bringing in our own decor) and then the names and ages of guests (so they could make goody bags) and that was it! They did all the set up and clean up- we just had to provide food and snacks- paper goods, serving ware, even candles were all provided! It was an amazing day for us, all the kids loved it and we had the best time! I’ll definitely have parties for my other kids here- this was absolutely perfect! It was also the perfect spot for kids of all ages- my 2 year old had just as much fun as my 4 and 6 year olds!

Super cute! The kids loved it. There's literally a little town in there. Everything from a post office, grocery store, and hair salon, to a fire station, gym, and campsite. I also love that the times are slotted because it gives the staff time to clean up after every session, keeping the place nice and tidy. Then they end the session with a bubble dance party! We'll definitely be back.

Park
King Farm Park is a verdant area with a play area, pathway, and amenities for various sports like baseball, tennis, soccer, and basketball. Springtime is particularly cherished at this park as it radiates vitality. The atmosphere bustles with people engaging in volleyball matches, children frolicking around the playgrounds, bustling basketball courts, and families enjoying picnics.
Lovely, well maintained neighborhood park with pavilion, tennis courts, basketball courts and two playgrounds. Impressed with the interactive playground and adapted swings

I love spring especially coming to this park on the weekends. It’s full of life. People playing volleyball, kids at the park, basketball courts full and picnics. I wish the kids playing ball would clean after themselves. There’s empty bottles everywhere. Keep it clean

It is a good park for kids to play and it is visible from houses across the street

It’s a cute little neighborhood park. Enjoyed an impromptu picnic with my ‘slider rider’ burger and fries💯

This is a really nice public park situated at the center of King Farm. There are 2 tennis courts and a basketball court, as well as 2 playgrounds which have recently been remodeled and a covered picnic area. It's great to see that Montgomery County cares so much about recreational facilities! I go to this park when on walks with my dog nearly daily because I live close by. To reiterate, this is a great park that's in walking distance for most King Farm residents and I highly recommend that you get out into the fresh air with your friends, family, children and pets. All are welcome here!

Beautiful Park! Great Atmosphere! People are very nice and inviting not to mention everything is free and there is plenty of room to do whatever outdoor activities you or a bunch of friends and family would love to do! Soccer! Basketball! Tennis! Also they have a beautiful playground for the kids you name it! God Bless! ✌️❤️💫🙏🤲🥛🍯🌻🌼🌸🌹🌺🌷💐

Nice smaller sized park. I like it most for the four great quality basketball courts. There is a small playground for the children and a couple good sized fields to run around in also a walking path around the park as well. Couple nice tennis courts too.

We love this park, but don't come here often because they have the shaded playground blocked off for a camp during the morning and early afternoon hours, which is when most kids go to the park in the summer. It's frustrating, because they aren't on the playground most of the time but they have caution tape all the way around it. I don't understand why they get to use it and everyone else has to just go somewhere else. We play a lot in taxes to be able to use the parks here, and I don't feel it's worth it when we don't get to use them. That being said, when we do get to use the playground, my girls like it. The fields look nice, though, as is common in this area, people often let their dogs poop there and don't clean up after them so we usually don't play in them. The other facilities look nice though we haven't used them. The bathroom by the playground is only unlocked for the kids at camp to use it.

Absolutely wonderful club. The course conditioning and layout is top notch and will not disappoint; clubhouse and pro shop have a modern elegant feel with plenty of outdoor patio space to enjoy. Great amenities and services from my experience.

Unbelievable hosts. The staff was absolutely incredible. So helpful, courteous and attentive. From the guys in the parking lot to the staff refilling waters, I cannot say enough good things about the experience we had over the last two HOT and LONG days. Lakewood set the bar very high as hosts!! Thank you for everything.

I am the President of the CCSDA, the swim league that Lakewood participates in. Lakewood graciously hosted our Swim Championships the last two days and put on a spectacular event. Rob Washburn and Andrea Morrow were absolute pleasures to work with. They were incredibly organized, planned for every detail and communicated in advance all of the logistics of the event. They published the food options and costs and provided a delicious larger buffet each day as well as cheaper, faster grab-and-go fare at the snack bar. They also very graciously arranged for a ton of parking and communicated the overflow options and even paid for a shuttle bus to transfer people between the overflow lot and the event. Lakewood was incredibly generous and I am so very grateful to the management and membership for hosting this incredible event. The facilities are lovely, THANK YOU LAKEWOOD!!!!

We are so grateful to the entire Lakewood community for hosting such an incredible two-day event. Rob Washburn, Andrea Morrow, Lynn Zacharia, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. Their graciousness, attention to detail, and hospitality were felt at every step. From the officials to the volunteers and coaches, the teamwork and dedication were truly inspiring. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly and creating such a memorable experience for all the swimmers and families. WCC Swim Team

What an elegant experience. The staff was professional and the food and drinks were good.
Jonathan M — Google review
. They had us park on the street and then the county came and started ticketing cars. The bathrooms were filthy with trash and standing water on the floor. Buffett lunch was $35 and missing 30% of items. They jacked up all the snack bar items by 20% or more with the normal prices prominently displayed to reinforce the fact that they were price gauging. If you want a poorly run, offensive over priced, unsanitary and disorganized club hurry in!!!
