The Castle in the Clouds is a historical estate situated on a mountaintop, boasting a 1913 mansion and sprawling across 5,500 acres of land. The property offers stunning views of lakes and valleys, surrounded by gardens, ponds and hiking trails leading to a small waterfall. The arts-and-crafts-style castle features stone walls and exposed-timber beams that add to its charm. This museum also includes stories about Thomas Plant, an eccentric millionaire who built this magnificent estate.
This is a great place to visit if you're in southern New Hampshire. We stopped there as part of our RV Fantasy tour and really glad that they planned this excursion on the way to our next campground. This Mansion is not really all that big but built in a beautiful location on top of mountain. It was built in 1913 and has been very well restored. Kind of like the Biltmore in North Carolina this place had all the modern conveniences of the time. Anyway you park in one location, walk up get your tickets, and then catch a trolley to the top of the mountain. After initial orientation speech / video it's a self-paced tour through the mansion. Once you're done you can either walk down a trail back where you started at or catch the trolley back down. Anyway the tickets are relatively cheap, and there's a cafe where do you catch the trolley if you want to eat lunch there.

We had a beautiful day exploring this lovely place on pur 51st anniversary. I always wanted to go here as a child, but never made it. It was on my bucket list. We loved our tour of the basement to see the inner workings! The views were amazing!
Judy — Google review
I didn't know this place existed. We didn't go up to the castle, but we did walk around the grounds and go into the restaurant and bar area of the barn. It was really nice and they had a nice fire going. The outdoor patio here has an amazing view of the lakes. The waterfalls hike was nice, but I would recommend coming in Spring since there is probably more water.

Great 10k sf house built 1914 with arts and craft construction and many new inventions of the time. Beautiful views from every room. Hiking trails with waterfalls. Restaurant on site. Could easily spend the day.
Penny K — Google review
Wonderful day trip with stunning views and fantastic hiking trails on 5000 acres. The website has great photos of the castle and detailed history. I highly recommend the basement tour.

Beautiful mansion, beautiful grounds for hiking and spectacular views all around. Hike the brook trail and see the 5 falls.Get an ice cream afterwards. Grab a bite to eat in the remodeled carriage house. Dont leave out the mansion.Nice trip back in history in this beautifully restored home

We took the basement tour and found it fascinating to see all the behind-the-scenes work that made the 'modern conveniences' possible. Our guide was thorough and happily answered all of our many questions. The house is beautifully maintained, the grounds are lovely, and the views from the property are wonderful. Tip - If you visit, ask them to play the organ!
Kara B — Google review
Very nice park with hiking trails, a casual restaurant with a view that we didn't eat at, and a self guided house tour that one has to take a dus to from the restaurant/lower building. My folks took the house tour, they said it wasn't their style, it's Arts and Crafts, very natural, browns and tans, my style, I'll have to get back to see the house.

Funspot is a renowned destination for family fun, holding the title of the world's largest arcade. With over 600 games, including classic arcade favorites and kiddie rides, there's something for everyone. Additionally, visitors can enjoy indoor/outdoor mini-golf, cash bingo, and a bowling center with 20 lanes. This iconic spot offers an opportunity to relive childhood memories while creating new ones in a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere.
Had an amazing experience here. David is the best 👌 I highly recommend it for travelers & and residents from close & far. Great prices 👍 It's a very historic place (lots of arcade history) Spacious place in oakhurst three floors including a mini golf, bowling, and a bar.
Avrumi G — Google review
Had an awesome time with my family at Funspot. There are so many amazing games. I was skeptical about their claim at being the largest arcade in the world until I stepped inside. Their retro arcade room is a truly one of a kind room. Would highly recommend Funspot! Chris@ North East Ford
Christopher T — Google review
We were looking for a place to play inside out of the rain. Bring money or credit card. Almost Everything is self pay including mini golf. However, attendants are readily available for any issues (machines not giving tickets; screwing up bowling entries). Plenty of games and fun for all ages. Only negative there is no elevator for strollers. You have to walk outside to access each level (there are 3).
Rita E — Google review
This place is a slice out of time that's fun for everyone. I think we spent only like $60 for two of us and had lunch there (classic snack bar food), played games for hours, pinball, arcade, and ticket awarding games. I left with a new glass from the prize counter. While you can do pretty much everything with a card, bring a few dollars to donate to the arcade museum so they can continue the upkeep of hardware that is becoming more and more rare. Also bought a hoodie because they had them. This place is amazing, very chill retro vibes.
Greg B — Google review
You can’t go wrong with Funspot. The arcade has everything. Indoor Bowling and Minigolf. There is plenty of parking in the back, side and front. They have food on the “basement” level. Plenty of tables and chairs if you’re throwing a birthday party. A few bathrooms around the building. The games are fairly priced and most are in working order. It seems like the kids have fun collecting the tickets and reclaiming the prizes downstairs. While the adults have fun on the top level playing the games from the 80’s. This is a must visit if your in the lakes region. Its a 2 hour ride from Boston.
Abner B — Google review
Great place for indoor activity on a rainy day. Plan on spending money. Many games to play for tickets. Bowling and Mini Golf was great fun. The food and staff were okay.

A must stop for all families on vacation❗Kids had a blast!!! I thoroughly enjoyed some of the older games, brings back memories. LOVE THE BUBBLE HOCKEY! Hit a small jackpot also😃Mini bumper cars were awesome for kidsos!! $20 lasted us over an hour here with 2 kids...wouldve only lasted 47 seconds at Dave n Busters. Highly recommend stopping here!!! 3 floors of all sorts of new and old games, mini golf, also go karts across the street and a bingo hall nextdoor! Minutes from everything in Weirs Beach.

The Old Country Store and Museum is a historic establishment, dating back to the early 1800s. It has served various functions over the years, from hosting town meetings to housing a library and post office. The store offers an extensive range of kitchen gadgets and cast iron items at reasonable prices. Visitors can also find nostalgic treats like penny candy and a variety of New Hampshire souvenirs. The store's interior is surprisingly spacious, with well-organized sections featuring unique antique displays and practical kitchenware.
The General Store in Moultonborough, NH, is a true gem that combines small-town charm with an impressive variety of quality products. Walking in, you immediately feel the warmth of the community, as the friendly staff greets you with smiles and helpful recommendations. Whether you're in the market for local groceries, specialty items, or unique gifts, this store has it all. Their selection of locally sourced goods, from fresh produce to homemade jams and baked goods, is a highlight that sets them apart. It’s not just a place to shop—it's a gathering spot where you can grab a cup of coffee, chat with the locals, and experience the heart of Moultonborough.

Cool store with lots of different merchandise both old and new. Its a lot bigger than it looks. The museum was upstairs and was just a bunch of old stuff with no real explanation to it.
Andrew S — Google review
So much stuff. Many rooms to see. Can easily talk you over 30 minutes to see it all. Make sure to buy a barrel fresh dill or sour pickle. Lots of free parking in the back. Restrooms are portapotties in the parking lot.

Such a great find off the beaten path. The store is filled with a lot of great souvenirs and snacks. The museum is free and is up the stairs.

2 words. Pickle Barrel. This place was here when I was young so it was cool to experience it with my kids. I hope they will with theirs.

A really neat little old store, real old world New England vibes mixed with new world trinkets and snacks. A great spot to pick up a few momentos or treat the kids to a couple toys (plus they have original bottled Moxie if you're a real New Englander). Friendly staff and a fun place to just poke around. If you're in the area, stop in and check them out.

Embark on a nostalgic journey with the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad Weirs Beach Station, offering one- or two-hour tours along Lake Winnipesaukee's picturesque shore. Traverse between Meredith and Lakeport, passing by charming resort homes. In fall, witness vibrant foliage, while winter brings a visit from Santa. The train ride is perfect for families with its relaxed pace and onboard snacks. Enjoy the throwback experience that captures the essence of Weirs Beach and Laconia.
Get down on the pier early morning to get a breathtaking sunrise view ❤️ We randomly went there and we were pleasantly surprised that it’s not a popular place to see sunrise along with the mountains and the fog covered lake.
Nutan S — Google review
Amazing 1 hour scenic train ride around a portion of the lake. The train car was over 100 years old, but you would never know. The porter that was with us was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information about everything that we rode by. I would highly recommend this outing for a family.
Brian S — Google review
This is interesting to do both for the scenic ride and for the turkey dinner, which was the main reason we went. The dinner on the train was pretty much a full up Thanksgiving dinner with turkey dressing mashed potatoes gravy etc. The railroad runs along the lake and is a very scenic ride. The thing I really miss was the fact there was no history about this railroad. The staff on board did a great job of serving but there is no time for them to explain anything about the railroad itself.
Rick A — Google review
This was an okay thing to do with the family. The staff is the reason for a 4 stars, but the experience itself is 3 stars. The trains were a bit run down and the “first class” cabin was more like coach. I was hoping for better snacks, but we were offered a 2 pack of Oreos and a mini soda. The bathroom door was difficult to open, but once in it was very spacious. The conductor was extremely friendly. We had small children with us, and the staff was very accommodating.
Jake B — Google review
Train ride and turkey dinner was fantastic. Our tour bus with 42 people went 9-18-25. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. Special thanks to Jasmine and Darlene.
John M — Google review
Picked up the train at Lake Weir for the 1 hour ride (30 mins one direction and then back) and enjoyed it. My 3 year old loves trains so he was absolutely loving every minute of it. They offer some snacks, drinks, and even a "hobo lunch" on board at very reasonable prices. The ride isn't a guided tour, just a ride, but it is a nice change of pace especially for the kids.
Damian A — Google review
⸻ I left feeling disappointed. The fall tour itself was just okay. I was told to sit on the two-seat side of the train for the best views, but that turned out to be completely untrue—the four-seat, lake-side view was much better. The ride wasn’t very engaging since it only went one way, then simply reversed back along the same track. I had also asked specifically whether there would be fall foliage. While there was a little, the scenery was much more about the lake than the leaves. In hindsight, I wish we had chosen the train that goes up through the mountains instead.
Ron R — Google review
I live near the train station on the weirs beach, that TRAIN is so annoying, everyday it does the horn for 20 minutes and repeats it over and over. It’s way too loud and way too annoying. Whoever is in charge of that please stop.

We had so much fun! The food was great, live music was incredible, and the staff was beyond helpful. I want to shoutout Becky specifically, you can tell she really cares about every passenger on the cruise. She went above and beyond to make us feel supported, and made quick accommodations to make sure my 87 year old grandmother was comfortable. It made the evening very special and unforgettable.

We love the Mt. Washington boat ride. It's a nice relaxing time. Lots of views of gorgeous houses. Gift shop on shore & on boat. Bar on board with food. Depending on cruise, they have 3 diff boats. You can stop at the other stop, get off, and get back on within a time frame or just straight chill back & forth.

Had a great experience on the Mount Washington Cruise Buzz Brewfest! The tour covered major portions of Lake Winnipesaukee and the staff were friendly. It was certainly nice to sample brews and drinks while on the water as well! The views were fantastic and the ride was easy. Highly recommend!

We caught the cruise out of Wolfeboro - it was wonderful to experience Lake Winnipesaukee from the boat, which was beautiful and had 3 large levels. The staff were all super friendly. Boat and facilities were clean. Food from the galley was really good, too! Overall a great experience, would definitely do it again. Bonus: Wolfeboro was a great place to spend the afternoon!

Hiking area
Brook Walk (Waterfalls) at the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area offers a picturesque hike to see seven waterfalls, with the 40-foot Falls of Song being the largest. The trailhead is located near the entrance road to Castle in the Clouds on Route 171. Hikers can enjoy breathtaking views and a refreshing breeze at the last waterfall.
After the Castle in the Clouds mansion, we decided to do a little hike on the Brook Walk, and to see 7 waterfalls. In order to see all 7, you have to follow white diamond signs on the trees. The trail runs along the river, but you have continuously to walk up or down. There are many tree roots, and stones, and some steps. At the end of trail there is the biggest 40 feet waterfall, and wooden guardrails. If you want to see only the last waterfall, when you start your walk, don't follow the arrow to the left, just walk straight, there is a nice easy trail. Or just use it on your way back to the parking. We walked one way 50 minutes, and backwards 25min (we took the shortcut). Also at the entrance there is a nice and clean bathroom.
Rose D — Google review
We loved our visit to the Brook Walk trail! It’s a stunning nature walk that offers a truly breathtaking experience. The highlight was definitely the seven gorgeous waterfalls, each more beautiful than the last — a perfect backdrop for photos and peaceful moments in nature. The trail itself was easy to navigate, with a rocky path that added a bit of adventure. It’s primarily downhill on the way out, making the walk enjoyable and accessible. That said, coming back up can be moderately tiring, especially after a full day of exploring, so a little extra energy is helpful. Overall, Brook Walk is a fantastic trail for those seeking a scenic and relatively easy outdoor adventure. While it’s suitable for most, it might be a bit challenging for elders or children under 5, especially on the return hike. Still, it’s a must-visit for nature lovers and waterfall enthusiasts!
Derrian D — Google review
This was a fun hike, there are multiple spots to park. Look for the Falls by number and work your way from 1 to 7. You can make a loop back to the car or backtrack up.

Review: Brook Walk Trail – A Peaceful Path Through Nature and History ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Brook Walk Trail near Castle in the Clouds is an absolute gem for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. This well-maintained trail offers a serene and scenic hike along a series of seven distinct and breathtaking waterfalls—each with its own charm and character. The sound of the cascading water and the quiet of the forest create a peaceful, almost meditative atmosphere. The trail is clearly marked with signs, not only guiding hikers along the way but also pointing out areas to avoid for safety—something I really appreciated. While the trail is less than two miles round trip, it still offers a bit of a workout, especially near the end where a rocky staircase adds some elevation. The path is natural, with plenty of roots and rocks, so it’s important to watch your footing, but that’s all part of the adventure. There’s a rich sense of history here too—many poets and artists have reportedly found inspiration and solitude along this very walk. It’s the perfect spot to bring a picnic lunch and spend some time unwinding by one of the waterfalls. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful escape, a short but rewarding hike, or a picturesque place to connect with nature, the Brook Walk Trail delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!
Henry L — Google review
After visiting the castle in the clouds, the brook walk with the waterfalls was absolutely amazing. The last waterfall gives a breathe of fresh air. And a nice breeze coming off the falls. The terrain is a little rough as you go through. There may also be a less rough trail that you may have to navigate to get through to the falls, but it is definitely worth the hike. This particular route taken is a point to point trail. Starting from the kiosk going straight into fall #1. I traveled back the same way.
Danda O — Google review
Beautiful walk with so many gorgeous waterfalls. If you're limited when it comes to walking/hiking around roots, down hilly sections, you can have someone pick you up as the road goes parallel with the trail.
Lynda — Google review
The Brook Walk is an amazing hiking trail in the area. It was once referred to as the "Little Yosemite of the East," and offers views of over seven waterfalls on a roughly two-mile round-trip hike. The trail is easy to follow, and it's easy to recognize, except for one section after the second waterfall (if you're starting from the top of the hill). When you reach a fork, make sure to stay left because going right will take you to Castle in the Clouds. I visited Brook Walk on 3/4/24, and the conditions were still a little icy. Some waterfalls are difficult to see up close and should be avoided at attempting to see up close due to the steep embankments. (Whittier and The Cascades, specifically). However, the trail still provides a nice view of these falls!
Benjamin M — Google review
A long enjoyable walk with lots of waterfalls and natural beauty to see. There were many interesting facts and knowledge on the signs along the way, and the waterfalls were very pretty. The only thing is that it was hard to find which way to go, and we ended up taking the trail backwards, but that was okay. Would definitely go again in the summer.

Mountain peak
Mt. Roberts is a hidden treasure in the Lakes Region, cherished by local hiking enthusiasts for its breathtaking views and well-marked trails. Spanning 5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,362 feet, this hike typically takes around 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete. The journey offers stunning vistas along the way, particularly from a wide-open ridge about half a mile before reaching the summit.
Loved this hike! We hiked at the March after a little snow storm. It was perfect! The hike was family friendly with great views! No bathrooms at the trail head. It was cool to see views of Gunstock Mountain too!
Mike G — Google review
Cool mountain to hike, not extremely difficult and lots of places for amazing views. We were fooled thinking we had hit the summit at one point, but soon realized that we had a ways to go! Black flies were pretty bad almost all the way up, only once you got to 3/4 of the way up did they relent. We went Mother's day in 2023. I'd highly recommend this mountain for beginner hikers and kids.
Dan C — Google review
Mt Roberts really is a gem of a trail. The 5 miles and 1300’ elevation gain are worth every step for the spectacular view of the Lakes Region. The best views are about a 1/2 mile before reaching the summit on the southern-facing, nearly wide-open ridge line. It’s pretty easygoing for conditioned hikers or is nice prep to condition for 4K footers. The trail is very clearly marked, with orange blazers throughout. At every point on the trail, there seems to be a blazer visible. There’s plenty of parking, even if the smaller lot by the stable is full. Check my profile for more New England trail reviews 🥾

Pretty good hike. Not too strenuous. The summit doesn't have too much of a view, but just shy of the summit is a move view of gunstock mountain with lake winnisquam in front. Very beautiful

We were taking two of our grandkids on a trolley tour and it makes a quick turn around at the museum. Both grandkids wanted to visit the museum so we returned the following day. What a great museum! They had exhibits on both civilian life as well as military during the war. Plenty of things to see and the military vehicles really interested the kids. Highly recommend for a very informative visit especially if you experienced the time period growing up.

This place is truly a hidden gem. At least it was to us. We found it while searching for attractions near Milton, NH, and we were not disappointed! What makes this museum stand out from so many other miltary/war museums is that it gives the prospective of life during 1939- 1945 by starting off with many exhibits in the Home Front Gallery. Then it takes you through each year via their Time Tunnel, with highlights from each year from the war in Europe and the Pacific, to music, movies and such. The next section is military equipment that has been repaired to full road worthiness and to period correct standards. The museum also has a library and archives, an education center, a chapel and art gallery specific to WWII.

Absolutely love this great WWII museum (with tank bursting out the front). They are quite knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I great place to visit in Wolfeboro.

There is so much to look at and learn about as you travel back in time. We spent 2 hours inside and could have spent longer! Military and AAA discount on tickets.

Wolfeboro, NH is home to the Wright Museum of World War II — and walking through it felt like stepping straight back in time. From uniforms and vehicles to everyday artifacts from 1939–1945, the exhibits were packed with history. So cool to see these pieces of the past preserved up close — and my other half was in all his glory!

Not a huge place, but big enough for 3 restored Tanks, half-track, and other WWII Equipment and Vehicles. - This place does an amazing job of showing you to 2 halves of WWII, the Civilian Life and the Military Life through its "Tunnel of Time" - Amazing collection of artifacts from 1939-1945 - Great volunteers and staff

West Rattlesnake Mountain offers a magical experience with its oak and pine forests, especially during autumn. The mountain features trails through these beautiful trees leading to rocky outcrops that provide stunning views of forested islands and eagles' nests. In winter, the area offers plenty of downhill and cross-country ski trails in the foothills of the White Mountains. Hikers can choose between two routes to reach the popular West summit, each offering a different experience.
We hike West Rattlesnake Mountain several times a year. The hike is invigorating and the views are inspirational. Highly recommend!

Fun little short hike. Took about 35 min to this view. Finding the actual trail from the road was tricky as signage wasn't very clear or obvious. Nice view
Israel M — Google review
We aren't in the area often but my two kids (6 and 4), my sister, and I made a pit stop for a quick hike on our way up north. It's really clear and wide in most places which is good when it's more crowded. My kids were easily able to ascend without needing any breaks in about 30 minutes, the decent was about 20 minutes. It's the easiest hike for the most beautiful views!

Very popular easy to moderate hike about half hour 45 minutes up and about a half an hour downhill . The view is absolutely gorgeous of Squam lake and the surrounding areas. Lots of little islands to look at! Plenty of open ledge to sit on and a great place to bring up a picnicAnd enjoy the view or even ✍🏼 draw in a sketch book. Easy enough for the kids!

Nice moderate hike for great views!

It is an excellent first-level hike with an amazing view. Not too long. It is up a very small mountain, but the trail has a good path with stairs and stepping rocks, so the hardest inclined area equals a staircase. When wet, I recommend shoes with good grip since rocks can be a little slippery. I walked up and back to the car with an active four-year-old accustomed to hikes and a puppy in just over an hour.

Weirs Drive-In Theater is a seasonal outdoor movie theater located in Weirs Beach, New Hampshire. It features four screens showing first-run films and offers a nostalgic drive-in experience. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend, the theater provides double feature showings that begin at dusk, creating an enjoyable evening under the stars. While inclement weather may affect operations, visitors can enjoy snacks from the snack bar while watching movies from the comfort of their cars.
Support this locally owned and family run establishment. Come here for the good movies and nostalgia of better days!! Location is unbeatable in the heart of weirs beach. They also host events for Laconia bike weeek!!!!

The location is probably a three star rating, but it gets an extra star for being something we could use more of, drive in theaters. Some drive ins do everything better but for nostalgia, value, and giving the kids a cool memory Weirs fits the bill. The food offerings are typical, greasy, and that's okay. Experience watching is good, no complaints. The bathrooms? The bathrooms are the worst place on Earth so be warned.
Damian A — Google review
Don’t waste your time or money. You literally can’t see the faces on the screen. We left 15 minutes into the movie because it was that bad. Brandy at the ticket booth, instead of helping, chose to be rude and argumentative—and refused to issue a refund. I’m not about to sit through two hours of eye strain just because they don’t know how to turn up the brightness.”

👀 This is my 1st time commenting here, so here goes.. I have not been to the Weirs Drive-In Theater in 54 years. The screen had all these lines on it, the visual wasn't crisp. There was also a firework show for a half hour during the movie. Absolutely insufferable. Bright flood light near the screen from lot next door doesn't help. Feel like they need to coordinate with their neighbors a bit more and smooth out their screen

Two adults visited here on a Saturday in late August 2023 and enjoyed ourselves. There is a little bit of everything in this collection ranging from taxidermied birds and animals, to Native American arrowheads/artifacts to silk hand fans to fossils to old coins and more. We got there only an hour before closing so didn't quite finish looking at everything, but for $5 a person it was worth it. YMMV. Appeared to be some activities for elementary age children and older. The staff were definitely nice.

Also was told by the person on duty that there is a scavenger hunt available for little ones who go there. BarnZ's Meredith Cinema is a cozy 3-screen movie theater that offers a simple yet enjoyable atmosphere for the whole family. Visitors praise the outstanding staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. The cinema boasts modern facilities, including spacious and comfortable seating with power recliners. Guests appreciate the cleanliness of the venue and its fully stocked snack bar. While some find the pricing for snacks on the higher side, many are drawn back by the comfort of the seating alone.
They always seem to get all the latest movies quickly. Beyond that, their prices are pretty much what you'd pay anywhere else in the area. But let's talk about the seats. They're power reclining chairs. For those of us who want or need to be super comfortable, I'm confident these chairs will do the trick. I haven't noticed any sound or acoustic issues, so let's put that in the plus column, too. Lastly, I haven't tried any of the food or drinks, so I'll refrain from judging the quality of any of that. Refreshment costs are in alignment with their competitors. There's also free parking right outside the door!

I went on a one hour ride today with my family. We had a wonderful time! Our guides were very friendly and the horses were very gentle. if you are first time riders, this would be a great first trail ride. We rode past several waterfalls and on top of a ridge where we had an amazing view! I definitely recommend Riding in the Clouds... and my horse, Jerry. He is a sweetheart!

We LOVED our ride at Riding In The Clouds. Our horses were beautiful , obviously well cared for, and very obedient. The trail was stunningly beautiful beyond measure with lovely views. Our trail guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we liked her and trusted her immediately. The horses didn't put a foot wrong . We plan on becoming regulars at Riding In the Clouds. And are looking forward to many more lovely trail rides in spring, summer, and fall. This is by far the best trail riding stable we have ever been to and we are not young women! My sister, Sandy, and I had a wonderful time!

I just wanted to say that the experience we had here was just fantastic. I took my 12 year old grand daughter for her first horseback trail ride. The guide was great. She actually had to be stern with a couple of teenaged kids who were sort of ignoring her when she was doing the initial instructions. (and i am glad she did - they hadn't ridden before and seemed to think it would be like a riding a carousel horse and not a live animal). Our ride was a lot of fun. We also put my grandson on the horse for a pony ride. He loved it. All the horses I saw were quiet and calm. We can't wait to go back again.
Kelly V — Google review
A fabulous place to enjoy beautiful animals and a gorgeous view. The staff is exceptional. It is our 2nd time making a 2 1/2 hour trip. The first time there was for horse back riding in the fall. It was so fun - We decided to go back for a wonderful sleigh ride this winter.
Holly O — Google review
We scheduled a ride for the afternoon and mentioned that we had ridden before. No one told us before the ride that we would have to walk the horses the whole way. When we were out on the ride for a while, I asked our guide if we could cantor and she said that they are not allowed to cantor or do anything but walk. My wife was VERY disappointed and so was I: I can’t recall a trail ride where we walked the horses for an hour. Most of the ride is in the woods with minimal scenery, the end of the ride, where they take pictures has a nice view of the lake and the mountains. If this is your first ride, I am sure it would be a fun experience, but if you want to do anything else but walk your horse for an hour I would look elsewhere.

Located on lake Winnipesauke. Cute day trip in the off season. Complete with boardwalk, mountain views, arcade(s), boat tours, food, motels and history. The location of bike week also left remnants of burnout marks in the street, cute. ✨️ Tourist trap prices for food. The arcades were dated, one more than the other, still a good time at typical rates. A nice peaceful walk down the boardwalk was either well timed for the Sunday in September when I was there or its a peaceful quaint place.

I visited this place in October, off the season. It is very quiet and peaceful, but at the same time it gives some vibes of a dead city. I do believe during the summer, the city is full of life and tourists. The beach itself is clean, small, the water is clear, and the views are beautiful. Near the beach is a ferry dock, with some tour cruises ferries, and also a lakeside railroad, just for scenic rides.

We were in the area during the off season, so it wasn’t crowded, which was nice. Old school vibe to the place. Beach area is kind of small. There is an arcade, places to grab some food, and some shops to browse. Parking seems to be limited, but we were staying within walking distance, so it was a non factor for us. The Weir’s Beach sign is iconic and looks cool at night.

Falls of Song is the largest of seven waterfalls along the Shaws Brook Walk, with a height of 40 feet. The trailhead is located near the entrance road to Castle in the Clouds on Route 171. Hikers can explore the area and learn about its history through placards at each waterfall. The trail offers two paths, one easier and one more challenging, both well-marked with white diamond trail markers.
Legit sighed out loud and was very thankful to get the chance to take in such a beautiful place. Well maintained trails, easy parking, a must.
Celi K — Google review
Beautiful area! The trails themselves leading to the falls can be somewhat difficult to find at first- they’re accessed by going onto the grounds of the Castle in the Clouds, and though there’s a map at the welcome desk to the castle lodge, it’s a little tricky finding exactly where the trail starts, as there aren’t very many signs telling you where to go. Once on the trail however, the path is clearly marked with reflective white squares pinned to various trees along the way. After you enter the trail, there are two paths that seem to ultimately lead to the same place, being the final waterfall. One, which has you closely follow the creek, takes you by all seven of the falls, rapids, and cascades, which are marked both with the trail markers and with placards telling you the name and some history around each set of falls, which grow in size and height as you wind your way down. This path is a bit of a more arduous walk, though it isn’t very long, as the terrain can get a bit steep and rugged, and thusly this particular path wouldn’t be very good for those with limited mobility or balance. The walk to the final, largest waterfall is only a little over a mile, and is a breathtakingly beautiful walk. Our dog had as much fun as we did, hopping through the water and jumping on the rocks in the sometimes surprisingly deep pools of refreshing water that gathers at the bottom of each waterfall. This place is totally gorgeous, and is well worth stopping by for those with an hour or so to spare!

Hiking trail inside castle in the clouds park. Trail takes you past 7 waterfalls, each with a placard telling you the history of the waterfall. Falls of song of the last one and it has a wooden ramp so you can walk up close easily. The trails has a easier path or a hard path for visitors to choose from, the harder path being closer to the water. It is well marked with white diamond trail markers. The route 171 entrance is closed to cars, but you can park on the side of the road and walk onto the trail. That's good for if you just want a quick trip to see falls of song, the last waterfall.

My husband, 2 kids, & I had a great time! We got the shareable 6 pack for $48, which you'd only know about if you look online; as it didn't say it on their price board at the ticket window. So we each got 2 rides & my youngest was free, since he rode with me. It's a good size track, you get quite a few laps, & the go karts go a good speed! (Not too fast, but definitely not slow) They have a little sandbox for the younger kids to play in while waiting, & a bunch of benches with umbrellas for people to sit while waiting; which both are a nice little bonus. The staff was wicked friendly! We stop here every year, & will be back again next year; when we come up for a week in the summer😊

These karts are perfect for tweens & new drivers, but a bit too slow for adults & those who are familiar with racing. There also wasn’t really an opportunity to competitively race against a friend. The pricing was fine: $7 for a 4-5 lap race of 3 mins total, or six races for $38. It was a fun but not thrilling experience. Give it a visit if you’re looking for a nice, uncomplicated ride.

My son and I visited in shoulder season and really enjoyed the visit. The crew was friendly and the instructions were clear. We rode with a crowd and that was fine despite the occasional aggressive / sloppy driver. My son wanted to ride separate from the pack and we only had a short wait to do so. A fun time. Great time doing go karts, bumper boats and the climb challenge with our. Best part was Brooke. Our son has autism and always sets out to do everything but has gotten in the habit of never finishing. We explained this to Brooke and she understood completely. She took a good deal of time helping him through the course and making sure he tried his hardest to complete anything he started. He was very proud of himself all due to Brooke. Give her a raise!

Go Karts are fun. They go pretty fast. You can have kid passengers for the little ones. Little pricey for a 4-minute ride. Bumper Boats are kind of fun. They have a squirt gun that kids love to use relentlessly. Expect to be soaked at the end of that ride. Mini putt is kind of a waste. The course is not "kid friendly" at all. A few holes are so slanted that you can't even get your ball off the wall. There are some holes where your ball can get washed away. Bricks along the edge are loose and can be an ankle breaker if stepped on wrong. We didn't do batting cages, but they looked pretty good from where we were standing. Different speeds for baseball and softball. All in all, it's a little expensive for the time and effort. We didn't do the other go-karts in town, but they're probably worth looking into before committing to this place.

When will the kids we did some gold card and mini golf and the batting cages. They have slow pitch for the batting cages and they have 40 mph 50 mph 60 and 70 mph fastballs for baseball. The high ropes course needs to get inspected so that wasn't open unfortunately. Staff there was great they're a little understaffed but it's not busy season yet so they're good for now. I'd recommend bringing along the fam.

Paid a ridiculous amount of money to go on the ropes course. It's very small. They tell you you're welcome to stay as long as you like. My daughter had a bathroom emergency and they wouldn't allow her to go back up. NOWHERE does it say you cannot go back up if you need to come down. My son came down early because he was afraid. No problem that's our choice. It was also NOT told to use verbally so we could tell our daughter to try and hold it etc. At least let people know your policy and post it somewhere. Such a waste of money and our poor daughter waited all week to go. Thanks for nothing Daytona. We won't be back.

We decided to go here on a whim and we had a blast. We did a package that included all of the options and it was well worth it.
Steve F — Google review
Can’t speak to the rest of the place but the mini golf is simply awful. Dirty, overgrown, poorly kept, definitely not good for kids due to all the slanted areas. Avoid the mini golf.
M P — Google review
Played for 30 minutes, kids did go carts, bumper boats, and the climbing course.. it was over 200$, almost 300$… There was also no one there so less kids to race on the track and do bumper boats with. Fun, but won’t go again. TOO MUCH MONEY

Paradise Falls Mini Golf, located in Moultonborough, NH, offers a charming miniature golf course with various obstacles and hole designs. The venue also includes a video game arcade and refreshments for purchase. It's an ideal spot for families with small children but can also be enjoyed by adults looking for a fun diversion. The friendly owners are praised for their welcoming and personable nature, ensuring visitors have an exceptional experience.
I have been here twice and can say that I have never been to a better venue for mini golf than Paradise Falls. It is extremely well maintained. The owners are on the premises, very personable and go out of their way to make sure you and your family have an exceptional experience. They really take pride in what they do. Holes are each unique, music is playing throughout the course, new parking area, snacks and beverages are available, and they also have Walpole Creamery ice cream as well as some other ice cream choices. Great place to bring the family and enjoy some memorable family time. Highly recommend Paradise Falls. You won't be disappointed. UPDATE: Owners Mike and Dawn were finally able to secure material to update the fairways. The result is the fairways are a little slower and a little more true than before. Still a great venue for all ages. Don't forget to enjoy an Ice-cream after a round or two!

We came across Paradise Falls Mini Golf on a hot day in late July and decided to stop. What a wonderful place. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their business. The course was well maintained and super clean. They also have snacks and ice cream for a nice treat after you play your round. If you are looking for a small business that cares about making sure their patrons have an enjoyable experience, please check this place out.

Cute course. Definitely curated for families with small children, but was a nice diversion for the hubby and I! There were several larger groups/families ahead of us and the nice woman at the check in advised us to start on a later number between them so we wouldn’t be slowed down which worked great! Then we revisited the ones we missed. Got some ice cream sandwiches and such and beverages reasonably priced to help keep you cool.

Love this course. Doesn't have big drills, challenges your aim. Extra nice owners too. Cooler drinks available, ice cream too, I think.

Simple, cute little course with a friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Located right off 109 in Moultonboro. It was fairly quiet when we went since it's off the beaten path, which is why we chose it. Nothing fancy, but kids and adults enjoyed themselves.

Wonderful mini golf course with owners who obviously really care about getting it right. Very peaceful place to play mini golf, with a very nice course. After a round of mini golf, the ice cream treats are a must. Everything about this place is awesome. Looking forward to trying it at night sometime.

I was so impressed when I stayed here for BOW camp. The grounds are really cute. The location is beautiful . The walking trails along the beach are so picturesque. The old buildings are really neat. Had a lovely four day retreat with a group of 20 staying in Gibbes House in April. On one day with good weather, we enjoyed walking the lakefront and trails. While modest, the accommodation was satisfactory. Dining was not yet open, so we made use of the stove/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer (two) in the kitchenette, which all functioned.
Charlotte D — Google review
Beautiful space for a corporate or family reunion. Food is good as well. But lighten up on the use of salt. The location is fantastic. Private beach in a somewhat protected cove on the lake. Plenty of fire pits for evening gatherings and the stars at night are incredible.

We went to Geneva Point as a part of their “Family Camp” program to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Everyone from 4 to 74 years old had a fantastic time. Even though we were a small group, Christy treated us like VIPs and made sure we had everything we needed. The very large property is on a peninsula on Lake Winnipesauki so it’s absolutely gorgeous, remote and calm. We happened to be there during acoustic week so we got to listen to some master musicians and join their barn dance. I’d highly recommend it if you: -Have a family or group with different interests as there’s plenty of room to both come together but also do your own thing -Love the outdoors and seek quiet on an otherwise busy lake -Are nostalgic about camp or get jealous when you drop your kids off Might not be your spot if: -You prefer fancy accommodations, this place has a very rich history and while it is very comfortable it’s not new -You are looking for a happening ‘scene’ They have a dining hall, boats, disc golf, lifeguards, trails and many more games so there’s really no need to leave the property. We’ll certainly be back!!

Red Hill Fire Tower is a popular hiking destination in Moultonborough that offers breathtaking views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountain ranges. The Red Hill trail, which is 1.75 miles long, provides rocky terrain and uphill climbing, while the Cabin trail offers a more scenic route with less climbing and interesting sights such as old cellar holes and stone walls. The tower at the end of the hike provides fantastic views, although some find it a bit scary to climb up.
Was a nice shorter hike, fantastic view from the tower at the end. All of the hikers were very kind and overall a great experience. I hiked this when I was younger and it was just as great as I remember. The tower is a bit scary going up but I'm glad there's chicken wire at the top to prevent someone from falling off.
Seth D — Google review
Awesome hike, with plenty of views. Park at the trailhead on Red Hill Road. Took the Red Hill trail, 1.75 miles, very rocky and lots of uphill climbing. Great views of Squam Lake and surrounding Ossipee Mountains. Took the Cabin trail down, 1.3 miles. More scenic, less climbing and eventually you will pass by old cellar holes, stone walls and the Hunter's Cabin.

Bald Knob is a popular hiking destination located in the Markus Wildlife Sanctuary, offering a variety of trails for hikers to explore. The Loon Nest Trail provides a leisurely walk along Lake Winnipesaukee's shoreline, passing through forests and showcasing glacial erratics. Additionally, visitors can embark on an uphill hike to reach stunning viewpoints with panoramic views of the lake. The trail is well-marked but includes rocky and root-infested paths typical of New England terrain.
I went for the fall foliage and this place was amazing. The view was beautiful and the trail was moderate for me as a beginner. There was waterfall where u could take a picture. I definitely recommended u to go to the peak so u could see the wonderful landscape. The forest was clean and there were several spots to take a rest.
Michael S — Google review
Nice hike, the trails are very well maintained! The reason I gave 3 stars is because there are hikes out there with similar views that are shorter and better views. Still worth seeing the lakes from a different perspective though! And the trails are really easy going, going to Bald Knob that is. There are trails in the region that are more strenuous.

Short (2.7 mi one way) uphill hike to a couple of gorgeous viewpoints, with excellent views of Lake Winnipesakee. It's rare to find a hike with a great payoff like this one in the area. The trail is well marked, easy to follow. It is the usual rocky, root-infested path that is typical of the New England area, best for proper hiking boots - we did it with walking shoes, but we had sore ankles by the end; it earns it's "moderate" rating mostly because of this. Expect to spend a little less than half a day if you don't rush and enjoy it.
Ecmcdougall — Google review
Just like all of the hiking trails at Castle in the clouds Conservation area, the hike to the summit of Bald Knob Mountain is what I would consider easy and that's coming from a disabled hiker. The reason I say that is because most of the trails are snowmobile trails and are easy to navigate. The signage is very clear and the trail markers are very visible so it's almost impossible to get lost in there. It is one of the lower peaks out of the mountains around castle in the clouds, but it does have beautiful views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Belknap range across the lake. If you look towards the north you will see in the sandwich range and further north you can see the beginning of the White Mountains. This would be good for a family hike. The day that I went there were enough icy spots to warrant wearing microspikes so keep that in mind, because when you get to higher elevations different sides of the mountains get different amounts of sunlight and if it's going to be below 32 degrees count on ice and be prepared for it.

Great trail. No alot of people to be seen but the hike is worth it. Great veiws ,to why we hike . Well marked trail all the way.still snow and alot of ice but its March and the trail are packed down from the dniw mobile. Cut off to baled knob has about 3ft of snow so be careful if you don't have your snows shoes on.maybe a forth of a mile deep other the that one word amazing veiws !!

Nestled in the heart of the Ossipee Mountains, Mt. Shaw stands proudly as the highest peak at 2,990 feet, making it a beloved destination for hikers in New Hampshire's Lakes Region. This mountain offers an exhilarating climb that rewards adventurers with breathtaking panoramic views stretching from the majestic White Mountains to the unique formations of the Ossipee Ring Dike. The ascent is manageable for most hikers, thanks to well-established trails that wind through conserved lands.
Great day of hiking with my bride, we did not make it to the top, we were a half mile from the top but we left too late in the day to keep going. We did 7.7 miles, we left from cold spring trail to faraway connector faraway Mtn trail to oak ridge cutoff to high ridge.
Ralph J — Google review
Although this mountain is 10 feet shy of 3,000 feet, it has to be one of the easiest mountains to hike that is that height. It's basically a carriage road all the way to the top so you have no rock scrambles or any difficult stream crossings or anything like that. It's just kind of long to get to the top by way of the carriage roads especially if you park at the Ossipee Park parking lot. But the view from the top is absolutely spectacular!
Carmel F — Google review
This was a wonderful slightly off the beaten track hike, and offered a great view of Lake Ossippee from the summit.
Donald G — Google review
This mountain summit gives you a great panaromic view of the White Mountains. It is fairly steep to climb but doable with not much difficulty. It's really worth it when you get up there. On the way back, you may also summit Black Snout Mt. and Mt Bald. Then keep hiking down via bald mountain trail marked blue blaze that meets the Italian Trail with red and green blaze all the way down to the Mt Shaw Trail head in Tuftonboro on RT 171. It is about 8 miles loop from that trailhead.
Nurul A — Google review
Lovely winter hiking location. Difficult to find the trail markers in the snow so bring your hiking GPS. Phone batteries freeze in winter so do not depend on smartphone mapping apps. Decent progression from inclines start to end. No parking lot available so take your risk on street parking.
Michael M — Google review
Easy access by snowmobile in the winter. Incredible views of the north country on a clear day.

For a relatively short mountain in NH, I have to say that this 2990 foot peak packs a punch for its size. I went up via Shaw Trail then came over Black Snout and Tate on the return because it was my first peak in the Lakes Region. If I were to do it again I'd do the reverse, especially if you're like me and typically hike the 4kers of the Whites.

Fries were tasty but not crispy. We would good back!

The family and I come here for lunch and dinner when we are on vacation as the service is usually good and the menu is simple but tasty. The last experience recently was pretty bad. Items forgotten, incorrect order brought to table, my wife is gluten free and they brought a salad to the table with croutons despite asking them to be left off. They were also out of a lot of common menu items easily obtained from a local supermarket. Waitress was generally inattentive. These are all very solvable problems and we'll try again at some point... hoping they are resolved by then.
