Nestled in a picturesque setting, Silver Springs Winery is a delightful destination for wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. This charming winery boasts a welcoming atmosphere where you can savor classic red wines alongside an array of fruit-infused options. The best part? No reservations are needed, making it the perfect spot to bring along your family and furry friends.
When I was looking for wineries to visit on my weekend upstate, Silver Springs winery was highly recommended and as soon as I saw the pictures of Bob Marley I knew I was in the right place! What a beautiful, no fuss, family ran winery. Shoutout to Kimmy and Linda for the best service, they were dealing with a huge wave of people when we came in and still ensured that we had a really personable, quality tasting. I ended up leaving there with a box of several different wines— that’s how amazing the flavors are, and if you’re anything like me you’ll have a hard time deciding lol. And big thank you to the Don Gio for chatting with us about his experiences in our home country Jamaica. 10/10, would absolutely recommend and I hope I get to visit again!
Brithny H — Google review
Don and Kimmy were so friendly and they didn’t push their product on us. The wine here is incredible. We walked away with 3 bottles. Worth every penny. The scenery was also so beautiful to look at while sipping on our glass of wine.
Sasha K — Google review
Great experience at Silver Springs Winery! We did a tasting with a larger group and Don himself helped us. Very great working with everyone’s different palates and great conversation!
Jordan S — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous building with passionate staff and a unique culture. They have some awesome wine and take you through an in depth wine tasting providing history on each wine. Linda was amazing. We are taking home some unique wines we can’t wait to share with friends - great stop on the Seneca Trail.
Emily J — Google review
The owner Giovanni and his daughter Kimmy are the nicest people in the Finger Lakes Region. They have the best sweet wines in the area and the sweet red is La Dolce Vita. Grazie Mille Gio !!!! The vino is top notch !!! Dan
Dan — Google review
When you have a choice of 800 wineries in the area I couldn't be happier I stopped here. The vibe was amazing. The wine was even better! Our server Caitlyn made the entire experience better. Cannot recommend enough, definitely left with a couple bottles!
Michael B — Google review
Had a wonderful experience here. Owner's daughter (give me I don't remember her name) was a gem. She took a lot of time with us and showed us such hospitality. She was great with explaining The wines in the atmosphere was very welcoming without feeling stuffy. Pat and Ludwig PS we encouraged some guests here at Magnolia to be sure to stop in. And I was in touch with girlfriend who came with me in 2019 and she told me she just ordered 4 bottles of wine from ya

Atwater Vineyards, LLC is a family-owned winery located on the east side of Seneca Lake, offering stunning views of the vineyards and the lake. The proprietor, Ted Marks, a Finger Lakes native, has been leading this establishment for over two decades. Visitors can enjoy tasting a variety of wines including dry riesling, pinot noir, and blaufrankisch.
As first time visitors to the Finger Lakes, Atwater Vineyards checked all of our boxes. Perfect location overlooking Seneca Lake, immaculate and pleasantly decorated tasting room, nice selection of wines (including a few reds!), and an attentive and knowledgeable staff. Our curated tasting (big shout-out to Will) was the best vineyard experience we have had during our trip. I highly recommend a visit and tasting.
Wm M — Google review
We came to the Finger Lakes on our honeymoon and Atwater Vineyards was our favorite winery. The staff was fantastic and Greg especially was super helpful and welcoming. On top of the great atmosphere and staff, the wine was absolutely delicious and up there with the best of the region. We couldn't recommend this place enough!
Laura B — Google review
The staff are so friendly, the wine is delicious, the patio has a chill vibe, and THE VIEW is amazing! One of my favorite stops around Seneca Lake! My die-hard red wine fan friend from the west coast was very impressed, he really enjoyed the rieslings and the chardonnay during our tasting.
Chelsi G — Google review
One of the gems of the finger lakes! Their wine is excellent, the staff is always welcoming and informative. I recommend if you’d like to do a tasting to make a reservation! They also have one of the best views on the eastern side of Seneca lake, sunsets on the back deck of Atwater are LEGENDARY. If you’re in the area on Thursday’s I’d highly suggest pub night, the mixed drinks are wonderful, and there’s always an event! Atwater is a must try on the wine trail!
Erik — Google review
Amazing views, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and excellent wines. With so many wineries in the Seneca Lake area, it’s hard to pick a few to go to. We went here based on two recommendations from locals and it was spot on.
Melissa S — Google review
One if not the best views of the lake. Good selection of dry/ semi-dry wines. A must during the summer- their After Hours SunSET Series. Their outdoor space ( The Vista Outdoor Bar) is a fantastic space for all ( kids, dogs are welcomed), food truck, many drinks available ( wine by glass or bottle, cocktails, beer, and mocktails).
Michele F — Google review
By far one of the nicest wineries with amazing views! Our sommelier (Will) was very knowledgeable and asked us our preferences before suggesting wines, as any good sommelier should do! All the wines were excellent but my husband and I especially enjoyed the Petllant (bubbly rose) and the Blaufrankisch (red).

Nestled by the picturesque Seneca Lake, Damiani Wine Cellars is a charming lakeside winery known for its hands-on approach to winemaking. The vineyard carefully tends to its grapes, ensuring only the best berries go into each bottle. This top red wine producer offers beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions, making it a popular choice for couples seeking a romantic setting.
Charming and friendly staff who are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the wines, which made the tasting so much more fun. Great location overlooking the lake. Great selection of wines, some are price winners. Delicious & crisp wines, extra dry which I totally love. Totally loved the flight of tasting with generous servings. $15 /$18 for a flight $3 for any extra wine to try out.
Gunjan A — Google review
We were quite impressed with the quality of the wine and the service. We enjoyed all of the wines we tasted, particularly the red wines which had great complexity and character. The fortified dessert wine was also incredible. Michael was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and he helped give us some great information about grape growing in the region vs the rest of the world, as well as helping guide us through the many wines with excellent suggestions. He was more than happy to compare tasting notes with us as we tried each wine to make sure he understood what we truly liked to help pick the next wine to try. Highly recommended!
Dan B — Google review
This winery has made it to my top five places in the finger lakes!! Incredible wine and great vibe with an amazing view! The guy giving the tasting was easy to talk to and friendly. I like how the wine danced on my taste buds robust flavor definitely great with red wine definitely joined the wine club and can’t wait to go back. It was extremely hot so we stayed inside, but I promise you the view is beautiful.
Allison M — Google review
Awesome wine, fantastic staff, amazing views. Jeremy was a delight for our tasting - very knowledgeable and clearly enthusiastic about the product. Loved the gewürztraminer but their selection of reds are definitely the stars. Highly recommend the lemberger.
Lexomi — Google review
We had an amazing experience!!! I plan a girls trip to Fonger Lakes every fall. First time at this winery -and we will be back, and every year. Such good wine, beautiful view, and excellent staff. Jeremy, the manager, took extra good care of us! We look forward to doing a private guided tasting next time🍷 Make sure to stop here on your next wine tasting outing! Also the food truck was EXCELLENT! Again, we thoroughly enjoyed every minute here!
Rachel Z — Google review
Absolutely loved it! Great selection of wines and our server explained each wine! Indoor and outdoors setting, plenty of parking!
Mani A — Google review
This was our first winery we visited and although the outside was not as impressive as a couple of others, the wine was by far the best. So if you truly want good quality wine I would definitely recommend. The service was wonderful and they took a good amount of time explaining how the process they have pays special attention to letting the grapes and the job, no additional ingredients that would decrease the flavor and taste. To me this wine came the closest to the wine we had in Europe.
Judi Q — Google review
There are lots of wineries in this area, so we had to choose wisely for the one place we were going to go this visit. The wines are outstanding! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to a large party coming in near the end of the day. They were very attentive and explained each and every wine. We tried in the samplers. They have some other non-wine cocktails, which was great for the non-wine drinkers. Beautiful views of the lake and a nice deck that you can sit outside and enjoy the views (in better weather, not like we had today!). We will definitely be back next time we are in this part of upstate New York

J.R. Dill Winery offers a cozy log cabin ambiance where you can savor their small-batch, hand-crafted wines. The Cabernet Franc Rose and the 2018 DeChaun are highly recommended choices. Visitors can enjoy delicious tapas alongside their wine selection, with options like a charcuterie board and hummus available. The winery's friendly staff and reasonable bottle prices make it a great stop for wine enthusiasts looking to relax and indulge in quality wines.
Beautiful winery with a great selection! We had the Rose which was some of the best I have had in some time! We also ordered the meat and cheese tray which paired nicely with our wine! The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and the staff was very friendly and welcoming!

Haven't been here in awhile stopped by while we where in the area definitely a great winery to go to lots of varieties we did a tasting and enjoyed the Cayuga Rise and the Deep Lake Bubble of course we enjoy all the wines here was after buying the cider they had unfortunately it wasn't available if your in the area you'll have a pleasant time here
Lewis K — Google review
Wine: delicious! Specially the sparkling wine and the Rose, I think it was the Cayuga and the Cabernet Franc Rose. I did the taste at first then bought those bottles. I ordered the meatballs and unfortunately I didn’t like it at all. I mean, food menu can be improved for better bites, and my only complain is that there is just one bathroom, the first time I had to wait like 15 min on the line. But wine delicious 🤭
Erika A — Google review
Go to the Wine Bar in town, Watkins Glen!!! Abby, the bar manager/florist, is so incredibly delightful and i feel like i'm miss her until my next visit! she was so welcoming and friendly. the windows that open and make you feel like you're sitting outside were so neat! hopefully in October her mom is selling her art out of this place too!
Kaylin M — Google review
This was a great spot to stop on our self-made wine tour. My wife enjoyed the white wines a lot and I enjoyed the dry wines. I was not the biggest fan of the reds here, but that is not unusual for the Finger Lake area reds. Wine is personal, so I would recommend a tasting here. Other than wine, the food was amazing here, and I definitely would come back to try more of the food and wine. The seating was also nice with an inside and outside offering.
Stephen G — Google review
Amazing wine and snacks! We prefer sweet wines over dry wines and this place had an excellent selection of sweet wines! Pretty good view from the patio of Seneca Lake. Extremely dog friendly! We were able to buy 3 bottles of wine to take home and the flight was free, such a great idea!
Cody V — Google review
stopped in on a Thursday afternoon and they had been very busy. The sweet tasting was good. The appetizers/snacks were mediocre, beer cheese on the "beer cheese nachos" per the husbands and sons tasted like canned cheese, and the artichoke asiago dip tasted like warmed up bulk from the club store. Deck and indoors was dog friendly, which is a huge bonus.
Stephannie R — Google review
Hmm. I had an ok experience. The homemade focaccia was the saltiest thing I’ve ever put into my mouth. The Cayuga wine was pretty good.

Such Beautiful Scenery! We were there for a Wedding & it was amazing. I definitely recommend Catharine Valley Winery for any occasion 🤗
JM J — Google review
This was our first stop on our wine trail tour. We had a very nice experience here. The wine was good, the server was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and the area, the inside of the building was cute, the outside had great views of the lake. They are doing some renovating so they are obviously investing in the place. We will definitely come here again the next time we visit.
Mike S — Google review
Gorgeous, delicious, and amazing. I can only say good things about Catharine Valley Winery. I came by with a group of 30 of my grad school friends to celebrate a birthday (please make a reservation if you have a big group, they don't usually have so many people there) and we all had so much fun. Since we had so many people, we bought a wide variety of bottles of wine and were able to sample and share them among our group. They were all so delicious. Not only is the wine amazing, but the view is to breathtaking. There is a perfect view of Seneca Lake a few miles north of Watkins Glen and the way the sun glints off the water and the cool breeze that comes off the lake creates a very peaceful ambiance. I will definitely be back soon.
Britt S — Google review
Catherine Valley was a good stop for us. It didn't stand out like some others for us. The view is one of its better features. This winery has been around for some time and is starting to show it's age a bit. Generally nice, but some improvements would enhance the experience (i.e.: great stuff plugging holes etc.).
M. K — Google review
Stopped here on our recent vacation. The wines were wonderful, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and the scenery and “house dog” were beautiful. I wish we could buy the wines online! They were THAT good!
Lori M — Google review
Had a wonderful time at this winery- it was laidback but fun all the same. It was great to taste the different wines while enjoying the view!
Talia B — Google review
Dog friendly place. Even had my pup off leash. They have two very friendly German shorthair pointers. When I asked the owner if he minded me walking My dog through the vineyard his exact response was "enjoy life". People were very friendly. Wine was ok, very sweet and not too complex. Boxer Cider is our favorite pick.

Really nice wines for a new place. Great service. Interesting blends. Worth a trip to the big city of Burdet. 7/12/18 update...the wines are even better. Mateo was also friendly and helpful. Being local, we will be back for a Friday "by-the-glass".

Brian was an exceptional host. He taught us about the family's wines and many things about winemaking in general. The venue is so cozy. We purchased wine and we will be back to purchase more. Well-worth the very short detour from the wine trail. 🍷

Outstanding, inventive wines in a great setting with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. One of our favorite Finger Lakes wineries. Highly recommended.

This guy is killing it. One of the best lineups, from white through to red, that I have experienced in the FLX in the last several years. The wines are honest and Ian is a gentleman. Couldn't recommend more!

Forge Cellars is a relatively new winery located above Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region. Despite its recent establishment, it has already gained national recognition. One of the three owners is Louis Barruol, a respected French winemaker-grower from Chateau de Saint Cosme in the southern Rhone wine region. Unlike traditional tasting rooms, Forge Cellars offers tastings in a corner of its production facility by reservation only.
Highly recommended by a local. Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve been blessed to travel the world tasting and studying wine. The Finger Lakes is my home, and only a few wineries really knock my socks off. For me, that means they go above and beyond in 1.) quality of wine 2.) location and views and 3.) service + knowledge. Forge Cellars absolutely had it all. 11/10 in every category. Today, our tasting host, Wes, was an absolute gem. Not only did he know everything there is to know about Forge’s vineyards and winemaking, but he was also a superb and interesting human being. My bestie and I felt so taken care of, paid attention to, and treated with high class hospitality. Somehow, at the same time, Wes treated us like royalty and portrayed the down to earth spirit of Forge’s terroir-driven wines. This is the PLACE if you want crispy, dry rieslings that put the Finger Lakes on the world map with a few unique wines thrown in the mix. Forge is a sister winery to a maison in France, so you can also taste and buy delightful French wines. The aesthetic is hip-cozy with pristine lake views. I can’t wait to go back with more of my wine-loving friends.
Mackenzie H — Google review
This is a nice spot with a modern interior, kind staff, and a decent view. My friend really wanted to visit since she works in hospitality and loves dry white wines. Personally, the wine was a bit too dry for my taste, so I stuck with one glass of Chardonnay instead of doing a full flight. The charcuterie board was scrumptious! We ordered the Petite Farmer's Plate, which came with Jamón Ibérico (a Spanish dry-cured ham aged 3 years from the Montaraz family), 18-month clothbound cheddar from Jasper Hill in Vermont, cornichons, mustard, and a warm mini baguette. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The vibe was cool and relaxed. If you’re a fan of dry wines, this might be the perfect spot for you!
Elizabeth F — Google review
My wife and I came to Forge on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The tasting room inside was very cozy and inviting but the seating area outside was breathtaking. They have a perfect view of the lake and it’s high enough on a hill that you can see a good quarter of it. There are numerous fire pits around that helped take the chill off. They brought us our flight and explained the differences to each wine. They’ve taken Riesling and turned it to an art form. The cheese plate was fantastic. They were very friendly to our dog. We will definitely return!
Bill M — Google review
From the get go the wines are amazing, the view is beautiful, and the experience is at a high-level. Anthony is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. I left with more wine that I should have.
Jake R — Google review
Great wines , nice cheese selection and the sherry on top is the great view! Too bad they close before sunset in the summer but would totally recommend it!
Mirettefben — Google review
Another recent find on Seneca Lake. We decided to share a bottle of Chardonnay instead of a tasting flight the second time we stopped here. Either one is an excellent choice for the dryer palette.
Lori P — Google review
Really exceptional tasting experience at the salon. A relaxed and cheerful space with very engaging and knowledgeable staff. We had two wine flights between four of us, which was about right, and very well complemented by a cheese platter with some unusual (and excellent) tinned seafood. All of that was great, but it’s all about the wine which was delicious with fascinating opportunities for comparing Rieslings from different vineyards (plus Forge’s exciting forays into Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) on the flight we had.

Located on the East side of Lake Seneca just north of Watkins Glen, Forge Cellars is doing wonderful things with Riesling grapes in cooperation and partnership with growers from around the area. This location offers ample outdoor seating with nice Lake views as well as indoor space. Affordable flights and super good charcuterie and snacks. A favorite of our local hosts and now ours as well. Recommended!

Hillick & Hobbs Estate is a winery near Watkins Glen that offers stunning vistas of the lake. The location is easily accessible, just a short 3-minute drive away. It comes highly recommended for those seeking a winery with picturesque lake views. The menu exudes sophistication and primarily features their own Riesling wines, cultivated on-site. They offer two Rieslings and three other wines sourced from various parts of the world, all of which they assist in producing.
Maggie and Lynne are absolutely amazing. They are incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and excellent at sharing its story. On top of this, the view is unbeatable. And the wine is obviously delicious. Visiting Hillick & Hobbs is always a highlight of my trip back to the finger lakes.

Jessica is very knowledgeable and pleasant. I learned a good bit about this exciting new vineyard. The production facility is not on the property nor available to tour.

A unique winery that only does Rieslings, and they’re very good. Paul Hobbs tribute to his parents and the area he grew up before international acclaim for his award winning wines. Looks great inside and out and the last doing the tastings on a busy Tuesday was super friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the east side of Seneca Lake are spectacular. Great addition to the wine trail.

visited the finger lakes and on 10/10/25 we were out and about and GPS wineries near me. Hillick and Hobbs came up and looked nice so we went. Its definitely a newer building and the staff was so nice. We sat outside on top of the valley overlooking the vineyards and Seneca Lake. We did 6 wineries this week and this one had the nicest views. The wine was also very good and the prices were average. Highly recommend going here.

Beautiful vineyards above Seneca Lake, cozy modern wooden barn, great staff! We did tasting of all the Rieslings (didn't end up buying any wine).

Awesome place to taste EXCELLENT wine. Jenny is a SPECTACULAR host and she knows her wine. So many excellent options, don't miss their Cabernet Franc or their Blaufränkisch!! This was our 2nd visit, we will now be regulars!

Winter is here! I can only look back to the Finger Lakes pictures during the Columbus Day weekend. These are the wine tasting room and the slope where the Hillick and Hobbs is located. Absolutely beautiful! The Riesling wines are as phenomenal. Although coming from the same vines, the 2019 & 2020 are different and have different characters. You can tell even from the colors! It’s still a new establishment, only these two wines are offered in the tasting but both are very satisfying!

Just recently opened for tastings, and I'm so glad I made the stop! The winemaker has a lot of experience on the West Coast, and it definitely shows in the aesthetics of this location. Gorgeous wooden interior, and amazing views outdoors. Definitely gives a very classy vibe for a glass of wine. Location specializes in rieslings, and they had 2 available for tastings, a 2019 and 2020. Both were amazing. Our hostess Deborah was very welcoming and friendly. Gave a lot of background of both the winery and wines. Along with our tasting we also had a half board of local cheeses and fruits. Absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend adding this on when you visit. I'm very excited to see how this location does. High recommendation to those who want a smaller, more intimate tasting of quality wines, with gorgeous views.

Nestled at the southern tip of Seneca Lake, Osmote is a charming winery founded in 2014 by local Ben Riccardi. This picturesque 31-acre estate offers a delightful selection of wines that are both vibrant and refreshing, featuring lower alcohol content and bright acidity. With an array of offerings from chardonnay to unique New York varietals like cayuga and dechaunac, each bottle reflects a minimal intervention philosophy that enhances their lively character.
Beautiful vibes, amazing views and awesome wine. One visit goes a long way. The Pocket Wine, Rose and Riesling were the bottles I had to walk away with! And the music...soooooo smoothing.

The perfect spot to relax and take in spectacular views of the lake with a refreshing drink in hand and a nice breeze. Woody the dog was so sweet and is clearly their local greeter for all guests!! The bartenders were welcoming, friendly, and gave a great recommendation on what to enjoy.

Gorgeous winery with delicious wines to choose from for your tastings. The view is beautiful. The atmosphere is unique; an entirely outdoor bar with seating overlooking the lake and vineyards.

We loved our visit to Osmote! We were greeted by Mr. Woody (the dog!) and given a complimentary tasting as a welcome. Not only was the place full of charm, but the wine was delicious and the service was the best we had at all the wineries! Plus, you can go get a closer look at the pigs they have on site. High recommend a visit!

Found this by chance after going to a larger winery that we were not impressed with. So glad we found- lovely views of the lake with great wines! We did a tasting with Grace who was very helpful and friendly. Loved the white pet-nat and a red BICI that was recommended. We will be back next time we are in the area!

Low key spot not to be missed. Highlight of the trip. Great wines and the service was phenomenal. The short bread cookie was a tasty surprise.

Lovely views from the tasting area. Love the PetNat sparkling red or white. Tastings come with the nicest cookie with dried flowers on top!
