Flea & Street Markets
The Ithaca Farmers Market is a lively open-air market held on weekends in a spacious pavilion by the scenic Cayuga Lake. It offers an array of farm-fresh produce, flowers, local wines, and handmade crafts. Visitors can also indulge in diverse international cuisines while enjoying live music and entertainment. The market's vibrant atmosphere reflects the region's agricultural abundance and artistic creativity. Additionally, it has expanded to include Wednesday markets at its East Hill location and a Sunday Market at Steamboat Landing.
Loved this place. So many great vendors with variety of choices. We Enjoyed mushroom, kombucha and cherries. Since we were traveling, we didn't by a lot but if I were local, I would have Enjoyed more. Still a great place during our road trip.

Just went there for the first time and I really loved this place!! There are various types of stalls, for example: fresh fruits & vegetables directed from farms, foods for all over the over world, artisan breads, sweets, dairy meats & products, arts & jewelry, flowers etc. I want to come back again soon! Absolutely recommend for those who live here or nearby!☺️👏🏻
Gam P — Google review
By far a superb Farmers Market. So popular they have to have parking lot attendants to manage and the overflow parking. Get there early for the best parking. Many many vendors offering a huge selection, including many organically grown vegetables as well as food vendors serving a wide selection of dishes from American to Chinese, Thai and Cambodian and others. Atmosphere was fantastic with young and old enjoying the market and lakeside events. Picnic tables available to enjoy food bought from the vendors. All produce had to be grown within 30 miles in order to be offered for sale.
Ralph C — Google review
Such a great experience. Live music, close access to the scenic boat tours, and plenty of variety throughout the available shops. It gets a little crowded, but in a good way. Definitely get the macaroons!
Charles H — Google review
Loved this market! The gyros are OUT OF THIS WORLD. 10/10. So much flavor and overflowing with cheese, pepperoncinis, meat, etc. People working there were super sweet and nice to chat with. Loved the vibe of the market overall. Got a beautiful pair of metal earrings from one artist. Went on a rainy, cold day so there weren’t many vendors. It was still worth it for the food and view.
Josie — Google review
The BEST farmers market around and honestly one of the very best I’ve ever been too. There’s countless food, arts, and farm stands that come in a variety of forms! You can buy anything from sheepskin to clothes to pottery while you sip fresh brewed espresso, eat a fresh cooked hot meal, or snack on your favorite dessert. Don’t forget to stop by any or many of the farm vendors!! There’s local organic veggies galore, local cheese vendors, and local meat vendors. Parking can be difficult so try to come early if you can. You can sit at one of the tables or benches next to the inlet or on the docks while you eat and listen to some live music. Enjoy everything this market has to offer!! A lot of vendors use cash only so come with cash to spend!! Support the local artisans and farmers with cash if you can!
Sierra — Google review
The Market has really been updated since the last time that I was there. Parking lot and the walkways are all blacktopped now. They are many vendors with a variety of products. A good atmosphere being right along side of a canal. It was pretty busy on the weekend. I'll go back again. An enjoyable road trip.

This is a fantastic farmers market. Its a permanent structure, with toilets and an ATM. There are fresh produce vendors, small producers, drinks to go, food to go, artisan crafts, maple syrup, bakeries, honey, artists.....

Cornell University, established in 1865, is an Ivy League institution located near a picturesque lake. The campus boasts ornate buildings and offers breathtaking views of the McGraw Tower and rolling hills. The Statler Hotel at Cornell University provides luxurious accommodations with modern amenities like LCD TVs and coffee makers. Situated in Ithaca, New York, the city is renowned for its stunning gorges, waterfalls, and esteemed educational institutions including Cornell University and Ithaca College.
Came here for a campus visit with my son and was impressed with the remarkable campus and its facilities.
Eric H — Google review
It is one of the most beautiful universities I have been to. Looks like I am standing in the sky watching downside hills, rivers , buildings; also like standing on the buildings hundreds years ago, feels how the past people think and learn in the university. The waterfalls is great to watch and it’s free parking after 5pm. The only bad thing is that when I am passing the walking road , one young people just drive until he sees me , and yell on me which is his fault not yield on the walkers on the yielding sign of walkers. Be careful if you walk over there , seems some young divers there is careless driving.
Hills L — Google review
A quiet, historic campus perched on a hill above the small town of Ithaca. The stone buildings are beautiful but feel a bit tired—roads are rough, parking is a nightmare, and the campus, while scenic, feels somewhat isolated and less alive than other major universities. Highlights: • Uris & Andrew D. White Library: Gorgeous, especially the cast-iron stacks in White Library. Feels like walking into a magical archive. • Sage Chapel: Breathtaking interior. We walked in as a student practiced Bach on an instrument that looked like a piano but sounded like a pipe organ—absolutely heavenly. • Café Jennie: Tucked inside the Cornell Store. Great macaroons, cozy atmosphere, and shelves of books by Cornell authors. • Morrison Dining Hall: Modern, clean, with a good pasta bar. • Cornell Dairy Bar: A hidden gem for fresh, creamy ice cream. Worth a visit for the views, the libraries, and the intellectual charm—but be ready for hills, potholes, and a sense of quiet detachment.

Campus was very spread out and not as historic looking as expected. However, there are some beautiful stone buildings sprinkled around campus. One cannot undervalue the power of an Ivey league education. My blood runs big red.

Hiking area
Cascadilla Gorge Trail is a picturesque walkway that forms part of the Cornell Plantations Path. It was constructed in the 1930s and begins at Triangle Park on Linn Street, leading up to the Cornell campus. The trail spans about 0.3 miles with an elevation change of 400 feet, offering stunning views of six waterfalls and towering gorge walls.
Cascadilla Gorge Trail is absolutely stunning! The trail winds right through the heart of Ithaca, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and easy access. The stone stairways and walkways make the hike manageable for most people, and the series of cascading waterfalls are simply breathtaking. It feels like stepping into a peaceful oasis, especially with the sound of rushing water all around. It’s well-maintained and clearly marked, and the views just keep getting better as you go. A must-visit if you're in the area — I’d happily come back again and again.
Chris G — Google review
One of the best shorter hiking places in Ithaca! So many nice little waterfalls! Be prepared for summer of 2025 though because only one third of the trail at the bottom. Some kind of repair work going on.
B K — Google review
This is a fantastic trail with so much packed into such a small area. There are multiple waterfalls, several areas to just wet your feet, no swimming allowed. The area is rather well shaded at mid day so it is a good place for short afternoon walk. It's not too difficult, but there are steps, lots of them and many are not even. There is a lot of slate so be careful on the slippery areas.
Charles L — Google review
The Cascadilla Gorge Trail at Cornell University is a short but stunning hike that plunges you into a world of waterfalls and dramatic rock formations. The trail climbs alongside Cascadilla Creek as it carves its way through the gorge, offering beautiful views. The trail itself is well-maintained, with stone steps and pathways that make it accessible for most people, though there are some steep sections to be aware of. The sound of the rushing water is constant and invigorating, and the cool mist in the air is especially welcome on a hot day. While the hike is relatively short, it's packed with natural beauty and provides a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a must-do for anyone visiting Cornell or the Ithaca area!
Tanzina H — Google review
Even though the trail was closed at the bridge, we still thought it was gorgeous. Visit in the fall if you can as it is the most beautiful. In any season though, it is worth a visit.
Christine G — Google review
It's a nice trail in the middle of Ithica. It's really easy to get to and very scenic. It's not a hard trail at all. Unfortunately part of the trail is blocked off. It looks like it was going to lead to a bridge. Unfortunately it wasn't assessable when I went.
Erik Z — Google review
When visit on September 1,2025 the trail was closed after the bridge!!! The stairs are gradual and it’s a beautiful scenic place!!

Short hike, part of the trail was closed and it's been dry so not a lot of flow. I still enjoyed it. Worth going.

Ithaca Falls is a 150-ft. waterfall that can be reached via a walking trail and features a natural pool popular for fishing. It's one of the easier waterfalls to visit in the Finger Lakes Region, offering visitors the opportunity to get close and have an authentic experience with it. The waterfall exhibits graceful characteristics as it ripples down its 75ft face, making it a favorite among visitors.
Short, easy walk to Ithaca Falls. The nearby parking lot is pretty rough and small, but there is some street parking as well. Looks to be good fishing 🎣. A must-see when visiting Ithaca.
Nick W — Google review
The falls are 175 feet high. There is a walking trail to get to them, which is not hard to navigate, just in some places are rocks big and small, some can move but is level.
Gabrielle — Google review
Beautiful hike that was short and sweet. Parking is relatively easy across the street and the waterfall was a short hike to access. It was truly large beautiful gorgeous. You can get as close as a few feet to falls and post a rainy day, it is absolutely guzzling. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area to drop by and check it out.
Andy — Google review
This is a great place to visit. No fees and you go right to the base of the Falls! We walked along the base and it was a great start to our Holiday weekend!
Elise K — Google review
Beautiful. Easy parking. Easy walk. Don’t think it qualifies as a hike though.
Nicollette L — Google review
Gorgeous and super easy to walk up to the falls!! Early October was the perfect time to go because the fall colors were just starting to peak. Go during sunset for an exceptional view! The falls practically looked like they were glowing 😍 As you get closer to the falls, the path does become a bit rocky so it would be helpful to wear hiking shoes or bring a hiking stick along.
Meghna R — Google review
Ithaca Falls is a stunning natural spot that captures the beauty and power of the Finger Lakes region. The waterfall is massive and surrounded by lush greenery, creating a scene that feels both peaceful and dramatic. What makes it especially memorable is how close you can get. It’s just steps from the base, you can feel the mist on your face and hear the full rush of the water. It’s easy to access right from the city, yet it feels like a world away. A must visit for anyone exploring Ithaca.
Traveling K — Google review
Monster waterfall, gorgeous. Caught a gentleman fly fishing below it. Must see if you're in the area or waterfall hopping!

Gardens
Cornell Botanic Gardens, established in 1875, spans over 4,000 acres and features specialty gardens, an arboretum, and educational programs. The gardens have partnered with other organizations to launch a website called Out on the Trails at IthacaTrails.org. This GPS-enabled site maps all the trails in Tompkins County and allows users to search based on their desired experience such as distance, difficulty level, scenic views, wildlife viewing opportunities, or picnic spots.
Formerly known as the Cornell Plantations and consisting of 25 acres, Cornell Botanic Gardens is one of the most popular attractions around Ithaca and has something for everyone, which is why my partner, his family, and I came for a visit on this beautiful Saturday. Located in the center of the Cornell University campus, but also including the adjoining F.R. Newman Arboretum and over 3,500 acres of natural areas, there were hiking trails, nature walks, gardens, ponds, woodlands, meadows, glens, waterfalls, fens, bogs, and, of course, “gorges.” The well-kept gardens were easy to access, easy to walk around, and were extremely quiet. It’s very kid- and pet-friendly. The historic core revolves around the herb and perennial garden. Admission is FREE, but one does need to pay a parking fee to enter the park on weekdays. It runs you $1.50 per hour, so it's exceptionally reasonable, but it's free on weekends. We enjoyed our drive through the campus to get to the botanic garden, which we can recommend.
Eloy Y — Google review
It was nice. Unfortunately we were there after a rain storm and the blooms were off the trees. The grounds are well kept and clean. The paths are nice and wind around so you can see the gardens from many different vantage points.
Terrance H — Google review
Absolutely loved it! What a great place to have in the city. With the arboretum, it's huge and you can walk in the nice climate of the trees even in warm weather for hours. This was the highlight of our trip in NY.
Tomáš G — Google review
You simply must not miss these gardens, as they are truly remarkable in every aspect. I especially enjoyed the fragrant herb garden. Furthermore, I greatly appreciate the immense history that permeates the campus.
Judy R — Google review
The botanic gardens are just beautiful! It was free to enter, we just paid a minimal fee to park using a QR code. We went to the herb garden near the center and the flowers were gorgeous. Lots of pollinators there too. Then we drove to the sculpture garden, pond, and overlook. The wildflower section didn't have much this time of year but it was a pretty forrest walk. Loved it!
Amy J — Google review
Wonderful layout garden that so rich in knowledge. My personal favorites are the fragrance plants and eatables. Wish there were samples that offer smells, and Tastes
Keqi G — Google review
A beautiful space for walking through very well maintained gardens. The main parking lot does fall under Ithaca's paid parking system, but weekends, evenings, and holidays have free parking. The Mullestein Garden is especially lovely in the depths of winter when the rest of the outdoors is cold and gray.
Robert D — Google review
Cornell Botanic Gardens is not your typical manicured botanical garden—it's more like an extension of the natural forest surrounding Cornell University. The highlight here is the walking trails, which feel like you're exploring a peaceful woodland rather than a traditional flower-focused garden. Nestled in the heart of the university, the trails are well-kept, relaxing, and perfect for families, students, or anyone looking for a scenic walk. If you’re expecting endless rows of exotic flowers, you may be surprised—but if you enjoy nature, quiet trails, and a serene atmosphere

The Sciencenter is a dynamic children's museum that offers an immersive experience in the world of science and nature. With over 250 interactive exhibits, including stations dedicated to air, pressure, motion, and water, the two-story museum provides hands-on learning opportunities for kids of all ages. The institution also boasts a seasonal outdoor science playground, the Sagan Planet Walk, an 18-hole mini-golf course, and a gift shop.
Loved this place. Not just fun for children but good for the adults as well. Very informative and interactive at the same time. Will be coming here again as the weather warms. It has indoor and outdoor activities. Sorry I o lying got photos of animals. Will update when we go again.

Wonderful and very interactive place for young kids. Lots to play indoor and outdoor. Good learning opportunity for kids with interactive exhibits. Plenty of parking spaces. They also have mini golf which is a separate cost than the science center fee. Not too far from the downtown area.
Rohit S — Google review
We brought our family with two kids and a teenager, and it was a great experience. We spent about an hour and a half exploring, but honestly could have stayed longer—there was plenty to do. The kids loved the hands-on activities and creative play areas, and even our teen stayed engaged with the interactive exhibits. Overall, it’s a fun and educational way to spend an afternoon together. Highly recommend for families looking for something both entertaining and meaningful.
Chena T — Google review
We had a fantastic family visit to the Sciencenter in Ithaca, NY! It’s one of those places where both kids and adults can learn and have fun at the same time. The interactive exhibits kept all of us engaged, and the reptile pets were definitely a highlight — our kids loved seeing them up close and learning about them. We also attended a special event on wildfires, which was well organized and educational. The kids came away with a real understanding of how wildfires start. It was hands-on, informative, and perfectly suited for all ages. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for families to spend a few hours exploring, learning, and having fun together. Highly recommended!
Sundeep V — Google review
Highly recommended for children. It’s an immersive learning experience for all the kiddos exploring science. It’s built as an experience so you can enjoy your trip to the fullest. Please pack snacks as you will want to stay 2-3 hours. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Special shout out to the reptile keeper who kept us entertained by feeding all reptiles including a python.

OH. MA. GAWD!! This place was INCREDIBLE!! Of everything we have done with my kids all summer, THIS place was an absolute favorite!! We drove from an hour and 40 minutes away and it was 1000% worth it. We spent nearly all day here. We arrived a little after 12 and didnt leave until after 4, and the kids were NOT ready to go. The amount of exhibits this facility has is insane! And the things to do were endless. And.. these were not just regular "exhibits". I LOVED the variety and ALL the interactive aspects. You had everything from weather and tornados, to light reflection, sound waves, bubbles, robotics, and LIVE ANIMALS. (Just to name a FEW). The touch tank was incredible!! A favorite for sure! And the outdoor "tree house" with all the musical instruments and climbing was such a wonderful area for my two sons who both have SPD to just go wild. Building the damn was super fun, despite up not being able to get it 100% right! Haha. I was incredibly impressed with the size as well. It was massive compared to other museums and interactive science centers we have been to thus far. Initially I was worried about that, given the distance and drive, but we we not disappointed at all! I thought the community room filled with portraits and information on those who navigated the science world to be a wonderful and educational touch. I also appreciated the fact that bathrooms were everywhere in the facility, especially for those of us navigating several children at once, its such a relief not having to run all over trying to get kids to the restroom. We 100% will be coming back again!!
Brittany H — Google review
The kids love sciencenter. It has activities for all age groups especially little ones. It is one of the best places in Ithaca to take the kids to for a fun day of exploration and learning.
Kashmala F — Google review
One of the best children's/science museums out there and would still be wildly impressive for a city much larger than Ithaca. Tons of both freeform and structured activities. Very creative building design and layout. Huge outdoor space accessible from both floors. Seating area to eat, if you bring food. Helpful staff and volunteers. Free parking.

Museums
The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, designed by I.M. Pei, is a distinctive tower housing a diverse collection from ancient Roman sculptures to 21st-century photography. Commissioned in 1968 by Cornell University, the museum serves as both an educational facility and cultural center. Recently, it has been transformed into additional classroom space for the university's Department of Art to accommodate social distancing measures.
Definitely a must see while in Ithaca for 4 reasons: 1. It's free! Donations always welcome. 2. Diverse collection of works. BC to modern! 3. Stunning views of Ithaca, the lake, and the surrounding area from the 5th floor 4 . The architecture! Clean and elegant concrete facade and interior. The design actually took into consideration not to block the views of others not in the building. My favorite was the spiral staircase! 2 issues: 1. Parking close by might pose a problem. 2. No gift shop. I would have loved to have purchased books and prints of some of the featured collections.
Nicky S — Google review
Free museum, with elevator access to about four floors of art. Some of the art displayed great talent, well most of the art was more eclectic, creative, or beauty in the eye of the beholder. There are many items being displayed. I feel like if someone not artistically gifted I could have made myself. Understand understanding my ability with art makes me feel that these aren't necessarily worthy for placement in the art museum but I understand that is a personal opinion and the beauty of our is in the eye of the beholder and the artist. there were several different periods of time represented and I enjoyed that variety. They also had a hands-on textiles display that is one for kids and adults are like. Everly also enjoyed the view from the top floors of the entire campus. That was just as valuable as enjoying all of the art pieces. my group spent about 2 1/2 hours here.
Lisa J — Google review
Masters, students, ancient artifacts, modern media, and everything in between. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I expected only some modern art but it's a world class collection. The representation of different cultures/places, time periods, and materials is amazing. I highly recommend going here even if it's out of the way of your plans. There are even some great views of the city and surrounding mountains and adjacent lake. There's also an outdoor deck area with light-art on the ceiling and benches designed for lounging to look up at it. The architecture is also striking and memorable. A must-see finger lakes experience, and it's free!
RJ L — Google review
Even the architecture of this museum, including its relatively recent addition, is art! But the permanent collections and rotating exhibits really makes a place. There’s something for everyone, including modern photography and ancient artifacts. Views around the Cornell campus and City of Ithaca are exceptional.
Mark A — Google review
A must-visit when you're in Ithaca. On weekends, parking is free. The views from the upper floor are stunning! The collection is great too.
Simon W — Google review
Fun museum at Cornell, multiple floors of art. Elevator was broken while there so you had to take a couple flights of stairs. No water allowed inside the museum, must leave it at the front. There is security walking around. Offers tours as well. Parking is limited, only a few spots with paid parking outside and then you need to register inside too. Very interesting place. Fun free thing to do
Caitlyn A — Google review
Great museum if you're visiting Cornell's campus! The staff are very respectful and the space is very clean. The variety of art pieces to see was diversified enough to keep you combing through every small detail

Really beautiful small museum. The light show on the roof of the deck is awesome, though I'm not sure what time of year to visit so they're open to view it after dark (which I think was the artist's intent). Wonderful collection all around, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We went there for dinner with family we were visiting. We keep to a Vegan diet and our daughter Vegetarian, while her husband is omniviore. All of were able to get dinner and ice cream treats afterwards. Our Vegan diet is about personal health so we are more flexible than some others might be about the fact that the Vegan burgers and veggies are cooked on the same grill as meat. For the same reasons we did not check to see if the ice cream cones were Vegan. Anyone who is concerned about such details should check and might end up eating elsewhere depending on what they find out. Alternatively, if one orders ice cream in a cup that should be acceptable for most people who keep to a Vegan diet. Our food order tonight: White Bean Lentil Burger: Whole Wheat Roll, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Chipotle aiolin, *Fried Onions, Jalapeno, No Extras Add Side Field Green Salad, honey mustard, No Drink Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad; Fried chicken breast, hard boiled egg, field greens, roma tomato, cucumber, avocado, carrots, choice of dressing Balsamic Vinegrette Dressing White Bean Lentil Burger: Whole Wheat Roll, *Grilled Bell Peppers, *Grilled Mushrooms, *Grilled Onions, No Extras Add Side Field Green Salad, Basalmic, No Drink Black Bean Burger: scratch made vegan black bean burger has a touch of BBQ flavor. Whole Wheat Roll, *Grilled Bell Peppers, *Grilled Mushrooms, *Grilled Onions, Jalapeno, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Add Avocado, Add on Sweet Potato Fries, No Drink Our deserts: Junior Scoop Vegan, Cup, Vegan Chocolate Chunk gf, Junior Scoop Vegan, Cup, Vegan Vanilla Bean gf Junior Scoop, Cup, Black Raspberry Junior Scoop, Cup, Bittersweet, 1 Scoop Vegan, Sugar cone, Vegan Chocolate Chunk gf 2 Scoop, Vegan, Waffle Cone, Vegan Mint Choc Chunk gf, Vegan Wild Berry The vegan burgers are an alternative for those who don't want commercial Vegan burgers. We liked the black bean burger better in terms of texture but both were mushy, and didn't have much flavor. We probably would not get either again. The sweet potato fries were good, not great. The side salads were surprisingly generous. Everyone liked the ice cream. The Vegan ice cream all were very good. It is possible to get Vegan shakes and vegan sundaes, which we did not try tonight.

Phenomenal. The best ice cream I’ve ever had. Easily. More than 40 flavors and it’s a whole different level of creamy and smooth. There’s a reason it’s a local fave since 1932!

We are Ithaca residents, and Purity is our go to place for a treat out of the house. The ice cream is great quality, tons of classic snd some absent grade flavors. The order and delivery process is a bit different, but very efficient. The dining area is reminiscent of retro 1960’s decor. They also have a grill at a separate counter for hamburgers and sodas. Casey and Liam are great host and hostesses. Be sure to ask for them when you come!

Wonderful experience!! Casey deserves a Michelin Star!! My grandson Nelson and I arrived straight from New York City he was still radiating that Manhattan angst (LOL). He’s a sophomore at New York University, studying fashion with a minor in Spanish. so you can imagine the attitude (LOL)! He’s recently gone vegan which is a trend in New York City. We ordered a banana split to share and Casey made it vegan and let me tell you, she worked magic. I was skeptical, I’m old-school, I like my dairy! (LOL), but she explained everything so kindly and made it all sound delicious. And it was! Usually after ice cream I’m popping an antacid like it’s candy, but not tonight, no tablets needed! Anyone my age knows what a miracle that is (LOL). So now, thanks to Casey, I’ll be having more vegan ice cream and feeling like a New Yorker myself! She even managed to get Nelson to relax, smile, and drop that city attitude for a bit (LOL) and that, my friends, deserves a standing ovation!

Vegetarian restaurant
Vegan restaurant
Moosewood is a well-known restaurant located in downtown Ithaca, housed in a beautifully renovated historic brick school building. For nearly fifty years, it has been serving up healthy and natural cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant operates as a collectively owned business and offers a farm-to-table menu that emphasizes the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, herbs, whole grains, nuts, legumes, olive oils, and cheeses.
This is the "highbrow" vegetarian spot near Cornell. The food quality is generally quite good, but it can fluctuate with the seasonal menu changes. Sneaking in a salt-shaker just in case the chef is phoning it in that month isn't a bad idea. They have occasional special events that are more tempting for vegans. In short, keep an eye out for special events and a menu rotation that looks tempting if getting vegan food is a top priority!
Lake K — Google review
If you, like many vegetarians of a certain age, learned to cook from the Moosewood cookbook, you need to stop by if you are in Ithaca. The staff was pleasant, the restaurant homey, the food was decent but uninspired and something you can get at many mainstream restaurants. There were six entrées on the menu and I think I’ve seen all of them at suburban restaurants in other places. With such an amazing reputation, it would be nice if the special of the day was something that you can’t usually get everywhere else. Salmon salad? The veggie pot pie was deconstructed, with some veggies and a sauce in a bowl and a crescent of crispy puff pastry on top. The curry dish has some spice to it, and the cauliflower was delicious, but a little scant for the price.
Karen S — Google review
This is a bucket list item for me and it did not disappoint. Everything about this restaurant is joyful especially the food experience. The dishes were vibrant, colorful, and delicious. A worthwhile experience and I am so grateful to have experienced it and look forward to trying out the cookbook. Wish there were more restaurants like this one.

Great vegetarian restaurant. I had heard a lot of good things about it on the parent’s group & it surpassed our expectations. Wonderful ambience, great service & delicious food. Definitely recommend. The sweet potato & black eyed pea soup & batatas bravas are a must try.
Sonali — Google review
Having owned the Moosewood cookbook for decades, I was excited to visit this culinary icon of vegetarianism. We loved the green pea hummus especially, but all three dishes we ordered were delicious. Emily provided excellent service on the covered patio. The nicely appointed gift shop, displaying many of the MW cookbooks, had unexpected delights. I purchased a locally made candle with an unusual yet pleasant scent. My only negative which resulted in 4 stars is the inside tables are very close to each other and the original table was crammed next to a wall and was very wobbly. We opted for the outdoor seating as a result. We suggest they consider giving patrons a bit more space indoors.
Robert B — Google review
We'd came here during the Pandemic and were a little underwhelmed but it's THE legendary Moosewoods so when we came back to Ithaca, we knew we needed to give it another shot. Happy that Moosewoods is back and better than ever! Everything was delicious but the vegan tomato soup and curry were the real knockouts. Hope to come back again soon!

The restaurant was a find during my impromptu visit to Ithaca. I read up on the place and saw that it was one of the pioneers in promoting vegan forward cuisine. Even though I love my meat, the menu was so interesting that I had to try it out. And I will say this place did not disappoint. The food was amazing, it was just what I expected. Vegan forward with some amazing ingredients and really tasty. What was a surprise were the amazing craft cocktails, they were banging! Shout-out to the bar folks they have created an amazing menu and the drinks are good! All in a great place to unwind with some great food and cocktails.

Cute apparently famous vegetarian restaurant in downtown Ithaca. Went with my family of 6, including one extremely meat-obsessed male. We started with the bread basket and lemon tahini broccoli for apps. The broccoli was deliciously charred, and the bread was good, but the portions were quite small, and the apps took like half an hour to come out. For entrees we ordered the daily soup with the steelhead, southern peach salad, chili verde, Thai red curry, Moroccan stew, and pasta strozapretti. While all the dishes were good, and the peach in my salad provided a deliciously juicy and sweet pop, there were way too many peas- like half the salad was peas. I really loved the Moroccan stew though, especially the couscous. Everything was fresh and well-flavored, but, despite a decent portion size, for a usually pretty carnivorous family, not super satisfying. Additionally, our server was nice, but the food took super long to come out, and a family that came after us got served like half an hour before us. We ordered the chocolate cake, almond cake, and vanilla homemade ice cream for dessert. I ate the chocolate cake, which was extremely rich and delicious - I loved the vegan whipped cream and orange frosting! I also had ordered a lavender lemonade as a drink, with someone else ordering the regular lemonade, but we couldn't taste the difference. Overall, the food was good and fresh, but the wait times and prices made the experience not super worth it. Glad to have tried it once, though!

The Cornell Store on the Ithaca Commons offers a pleasant shopping experience with friendly staff, although there is a concern about maintenance. The store provides a range of high-quality clothing options that allow customers to display their school spirit, albeit at slightly higher prices due to the branded merchandise. Despite this, it's noted that the prices are more reasonable compared to those at the campus store.
Really chill. Tried the Ice Cream, Chocolate + Cookies & Cream. My friend told me that the ice cream was known for the thickness, creamy, abd fulfilling nature since the cows are manually milked. I honestly cant taste the difference, but its because I eat to survive, lol. I purchased a Cornell blanket too (I collect college blankets), so far a $50 (plus Tax) blanket for a state college is cheap. I was surprised! Most state college blankets would be more. Quality is good too, the print didnt chip off even after a wash.

The Hangar Theatre, located in the former aircraft hangar of Ithaca's first municipal airport, is a prime example of adaptive reuse architecture. The venue offers a diverse range of world-class productions including plays, musicals, children's theater, and educational programs. Additionally, it hosts various events and concerts throughout the year.
Saw a concert there by the Genesis/Peter Gabriel tribute band, The Waiting Room, last night. Great show! Great venue. Easy parking. Helpful staff.

Saw comedian Steven Hofstetter. The theater is on the smaller side which allows for good audience participation during performance that include it. Seats are a little too close together, as a person with wide shoulders it feels a little cramped. The rows and seats are labeled but the layout is a little confusing however, the staff was helpful in guiding patrons to their seats. Concessions are a bit pricey, but that's to be expected. The theater was well lit and clean. Overall it was a good experience and I look forward to attending more shows here in the future.
Lee E — Google review
Full marks as a concert venue. I don't know that everyone could do it for a rock show, but Cowboy Junkies' foh made this place sound like a slightly overgrown house show. And what a joy these seats were compared to 90% of theater seats. Scoping put the aerial view beforehand I expected to fight to park, but for the (less than capacity) show I saw there was no problem getting right into the lot.
Shane M — Google review
Interesting little theater. There is no lobby so you have to hang outside if you arrive early. There is very limited parking causing you to need to park on adjacent dirt roads. The stage/performance space is on level with the 1st row of seats and might be hard to view certain performances from the upper seats. Bought front row end seats only to arrive and find an extra seat more centered than my seat. It was for an usher. Rather disappointed that the best seat in the house was given to an employee and was not on the seating map when purchasing my tickets and on the second tickets went on sale.

Wonderful venue to see music and theatre. I have seen many shows done by the Hangar and Running to places as well as seen musical performances here. I am always impressed that this small stage can pack such good quality into this space. Thank you for the great times!

The parking right outside of the theatre could be filled with mud and puddles depending on the weather. There are parking lots nearby at the marina and Cass Park. Without wired amplification, acoustic human sounds have a harder time to project. It looks like a versatile space for possibilities otherwise.

Attended the Jay and Silent Bob Aural Sects Tour here, the theater was beautiful and comfortable. Easy to find, but finding parking was a little difficult. The theater itself is historic, from a time when vehicles weren't very common. I'd imagine theatre goers back then walked, or were dropped off.. which is still so cool, but I wasn't aware of the lack of parking until I arrived.

Not a great venue for a concert. We went up to the balcony thinking it was similar to a house of blues show where all spaces are GA before being kicked out of our seats. We were able to go up the stairs and grab seats without ushers checking us which meant we got there early only to get booted to the back of the GA seats downstairs. Additionally, bathroom and bar lines were super long. Hopefully won't have to come here again for a show.
Ryan H — Google review
The theater is clean and beautiful, not a bad seat in the house. But, when my wife and I stood up to dance to a Blackberry Smoke song, the couple behind us in seats N5&7 apparently didn't like that and she grabbed my wife's dress and tried to make her sit down and then he put his hands on my shoulders and forced me down into my seat!!! I was good, I simply turned around and said do not touch my wife and went back to enjoying the show. Then security showed up and asked US to leave. They took us out to the lobby and said we could watch the rest of the show from the other side of the theater. We explained what happened, even had others next to us telling security that we didn't start this incident, but it fell on deaf ears. It turned a very enjoyable evening into something I will never forget or forgive.
Mike B — Google review
Band was excellent and concessions were reasonably priced. However- HUGE fire and safety hazard. Tickets were sold as GA with seats being first come first served, advertised as no standing room. The band we were there for is normally standing room only but whatever; we were fine with having seats. Small orchestra area they allowed people to stand in, also whatever, we grabbed seats a few rows back. People filled in the aisle once the small standing area was full, effectively blocking any exit from the seats, and this was allowed and got worse for the entirety of the show. Thermostat showed 82% humidity and the theatre was unbearably hot for the majority of the show (probably partly due to people packing into the aisle). At least if a venue is all standing, you can move back if it gets too crowded. With the seat situation and them allowing the aisles to be full, there was No Option of moving further back.

Ordered a cappuccino which was completely flat with a thin layer of foam on top (as opposed to properly frothed/steamed). It was also scalding hot (AKA over-steamed) and I burned myself trying to drink it. Got a nova lox bagel ($13) and came out to be $17 after subbing for allergens, making one addition, and tax. The additional fees for subs seems excessive and borderline exploitive to people who require these accommodations to eat, especially when the sub ingredients are likely basement price/quality (basing this off the tofutti cream cheese, which is terrible), and in consideration to the fact these are NOT additions, but substitutions. I would say overall maybe try to incorporate allergy friendly ingredients without overpricing for them and train employees to actually make a drink properly so people are getting what they pay for instead of a hot mess (literally). I will say in light of this, the guy who helped me order my food was very easy to talk to and helpful, though he didn’t mention the additional fees for subs.

After a full morning of exploring Ithaca, wandering through Cornell University and chasing waters, we found ourselves a bit hungry. Collegetown Bagels and surrounding were the perfect stops. The area was quiet with school out of session, that only added to the charm. We enjoyed sitting outside and soaking in the calm summer vibes - just what we needed. CTB offers a great variety - bagels, creative sandwiches and assortment of drinks and tempting desserts. There’s definitely something for everyone here.

OK, and in Royal Oak, Michigan please. The coffee was good also and so were the lattes perfect ratio of espresso to milk and when I asked for extra hot, the temperature was just right. In short, great place!

Not really a huge issue that you have to order food and drinks at different stations, but the staff’s attitude can make the process a little stressful if it’s your first time here. So basically, sandwiches and salads are at the very back of the restaurant, while soup and pastries are ordered at the counter in the middle of the hallway, and beers or other drinks are at the counter right by the entrance.
Dongyun H — Google review
I ordered an everything bagel with bacon egg and ham, made sure to emphasize that I don’t want cheese because I am allergic to dairy. I also ordered chipotle aioli which I was charged extra for. I finally got my bagel 45 minutes after ordering and it was a plain bagel, had cheese on it, and had no chipotle aioli. Definitely not happy!

Many food available (definitely not only bagels). Pretty expensive though, but not too much. All food is delicious. The main problem is a huge amount of students, but it's not their fault - the dine-in space is a bit small. But you can eat outside - there's a big terrace. The place is clean, but it can be noisy and crowded inside, especially during lunch breaks and in the evenings (because it's Collegetown, as it's named)

1. Education wise I feel that my student made good choices when possible when talking to instructors and fellow students who had advise on which instructors are worthwhile. 2. Cost: as others have written, the cost keeps increasing and now is getting to be at the same level of a University. 3. Meal Plans: "Spendy" with questionable value. As time and experience moved on, we moved to more basic option, when it offered a quick solution without having to travel off campus. 4. Housing is dated, and in some cases not well ventilated. 5. FEES: This place is like a HOA which will fee you to death. Besides having to pay for parking, even if you help peers move and leave the car for 5 mins, a ticket, from what I have heard from others the campus police seem to focus more on ticketing then anything else. 6: FEES: Part 2.0. Late fees, even a min late to a day late, there is ZERO flexibility, now they will not even consider a post mark. Funny the IRS will even give you that bit. 7.Finance office is useless: On many occasions myself, student, or former wife will call or email, and seldom get any response. 8. Overall my student is happy with most things, but keep in mind my and other reviews when considering this choice. Spend your money wisely...

I was impressed by the staff when we visited, they were very welcoming and eager to help, we even got to meet with a department chair with a phone call when we realized we had signed up for wrong tour. Of course the beauty of the school is impressive as well.
Jmedley38 — Google review
At its best Ithaca College is serviceable and at worst Ithaca College needs to seriously rethink its strategy to attract prospective students. 1) The dorms are outdated and often lack any ventilation in the rooms leading to the room to either being freezing cold or sweltering hot. The heaters in the rooms randomly decide when they want to work and electrical outlets are in places no one can normally reach. The bathrooms also need work as do the students that use them. 2) The dining halls lack real variety and are mostly closed on weekends meaning good luck finding food like all the other 4,900 odd students. Even with recent changes, it feels like a bandaid to the problem rather than a step towards a solution. 3) The instruction and instructors can be a hit and miss with some who are too good at their job and others make you wonder why they even got the job. Some courses have no reason being optional while others will make you question whether a gap year looks cool. If you are doing business, film, journalism, photography, theater, or performance arts. this is your school. If you are doing anything else, it can be a hit and miss. 4) The rising cost of Ithaca College ( as with most institutions right now) makes community college and state universities look more and more favorable. If there is no quality of life improvements, there is no need to have a net cost slowly creeping up on Cornell’s net cost. The school is plagued by a history of questionable choices, over-expansion, and poor management. I can only hope the best for those who have to work here and don’t have a choice.

We enjoyed our time at Ithaca College during their Fall Open House. The campus is beautiful, the people are amazing and welcoming, and the music facilities are incredible. The landscape was gorgeous on our long drive to the college. Would be great for someone who likes a remote location.

Accommodations and view was amazing, BUT it would have been better if there was not so many stairs to get to and back from places. It really took a toll on my body especially being hurt prior to staying. Please consider escalators or some type of transportation for throughout the college like golf carts or something.
John S — Google review
Not a terrible school but I think it should be at a higher standard for the price they charge. The business school is nice. However, a lot of the IC’s gen-ed classes are on the community college level. This is definitely an extremely progressive and liberal environment.

Located in Ithaca, the Fuertes Observatory at Cornell University offers a unique opportunity to explore the cosmos. Open to the public every Friday night during the school year, visitors can take tours of this historic observatory and, weather permitting, gaze through telescopes to observe celestial bodies. The observatory features an antique Brashear refractor in its original condition with a still operational clock drive.
The Cornell Astronomical Society hosts free viewing every Friday night, 8pm - midnight, during the school year. We had the opportunity to view Saturn floating in their rings!

Such a unique, beautiful historic building with an amazing antique Brashear refractor up in the dome. Original condition with its clock drive still operational. Great views through all the telescopes (when upstate NY weather cooperates) and the Cornell Astronomical Society and their student members are fantastic guides.

Called during business hours, not during lunch, no one picks up although the phone is ringing for many minutes. I’m going to visit in person, hopefully I won’t be paying for parking and getting told that the place isn’t open. Their website was not user friendly in figuring out the hours of operation to visit the museum.

Just completed the tour. A very entertaining and informative experience. The tour guides, Sherry and Ben (my apologies if I’ve messed up their names), were simply terrific. The two folks who remained in character who followed us throughout were very fun and enjoyably creepy. This was the perfect combination of fun and education, with the right dose of a little scary. Cannot recommend this enough to learn about some of the more grisly aspects of Ithaca folklore . The museum, too, was very nice and a good setup for the tour itself.

The Sagan Planet Walk is a captivating tribute to the vastness of our Solar System, named after the esteemed scientist Carl Sagan, who was an integral part of the Ithaca community for nearly three decades. This remarkable scale model operates on a 1 to 5-billion scale and stretches just under 0.75 miles from Ithaca Commons to the Sciencenter, making it an accessible and engaging experience for all ages.
The Sagan Planet/Space Walk is a scale model of our solar system. Starting with the sun, you can scan a QR code, follow arrows on the monuments, and/or dial into a phone tour narrated by Bill Nye. You’ll end up walking through some beautiful neighborhoods with bookshops and cafes to explore, parks, etc. It is very much worth the time, especially if the weather is nice. Follow the planets and then head to one of the many gorge trails! I will only post photos of the very beginning of the walk with the Sun and Mercury
Evan S — Google review
We enjoyed walking to all the planets. The ending near Neptune and Pluto, however, was a little sketchy.
Christine G — Google review
What a great idea for a landmark! This is a fun, informative walk where you learn the scale of the solar system and facts about the planets and interplanetary bodies. You can even touch a meteorite that is more than a billion years old. Saturn's obelisk was not available to view due to construction work while we were there, but that's just bad luck. The tops of the obelisks are adorned with the respective planetary astronomical symbols, but unfortunately some were missing (either stolen or had fallen off), and I hope they are replaced. Bill Nye's audio tour is a great touch. We loved this attraction.
Carter R — Google review
Underwhelming. It is a cool concept, but it is difficult to find the planets after Mars. We wished there were better markers or sidewalk paint to help direct us to each planet. Also, several of the planets had graffiti on them which was disappointing.
Victoria G — Google review
Earth, the GOAT of planets. While the marker does not specifically mention Earth holding the records for Most Humans in One Location, Largest Corn Harvest in the Solar System, Most Super Bowl Winning Teams, and many more well deserved accolades, it all goes without saying. Earth rules, as does its marker on the planet walk. Go pound sand, Neptune. Avoid the crowds and show up early.
Tim W — Google review
A pleasant, relatively flat, walk through downtown that ends at the Science Center, which had restrooms to use after the walking tour ended. About half-way through there was a Kinney Drugstore where we purchased drinks. We did the audio tour on our cell phone that accompanied the info plaques at each planet "station" stop. Lots of info for all ages - Data, facts and highlights! In my group: an 80 yr old, 50 yr old and 20 yr old. Halfway back, the 80 yr old did get tired at which time the 20 yr old completed the return walk solo to the car in downtown and returned to pick her up. One of the planet stations was missing (Jupiter...I think?) bc of development going on. Overall, a pleasant surprise and afternoon.
Beth P — Google review
Not bad, lots interesting stores
Terry S — Google review
This is a good concept and one I was interested in experiencing. Unfortunately there was some construction that had the side walk blocked off by one of the markers. I think it was Earth, but was never able to find Mars, so it could have been either. I couldn't find any official maps online, and the few images I did find had discrepancies. I eventually gave up.

Buttermilk Falls is a picturesque state park located near Ithaca, featuring a stunning 165-foot cascading waterfall that resembles buttermilk flowing down the rock face. The Gorge Trail offers an immersive hiking experience, leading visitors through the heart of the gorge alongside Buttermilk Creek, passing by several large cascading falls and offering scenic views. The park also boasts nine other waterfalls accessible via the gorge trail.
I was there twice. On August 9th, 2024, after heavy storm, the water flow was CRAZY. Of course no swimming allowed with that strong current, but the gorge trail was beautiful, and Park was open includes bathroom, although a storm warning was still in effect. There is a nice playground across the small bridge where kids who can't do the gorge trail, can stay with a parent. The gorge trail is full of stairs, was beautiful after the heavy storm. There is away to go back without using the stairs again but also almost without any attractive view. There is a road that reaches the top of the trail, but I'm not sure if the public has access to it. I was back there a week later. The fall was completely different, and swimming was allowed. I didn't go up again the gorge trail, so not sure how it looks without a lot of water.
Jay K — Google review
Buttermilk falls goes on forever with many stunning views as you ascend beside the falls. There are a lot of stairs, so the hike can be strenuous. There were many places my kids ventured into the water to wade or go under a portion of the falls, which is always a plus for us.
Amberly C — Google review
Buttermilk Falls is pure magic 🌊🍃. The refreshing swim beneath the cascading falls and the scenic trail up the falls made my visit unforgettable 🏞️✨. Beautifully maintained and full of charm—a true hidden treasure 🌟.
Raghav — Google review
The trail is a bit strenuous as the first stretch is uphill with many steps, but if you can manage, totally worth it. The falls are stunning, there's even a little cabin style hut along the trail. Highly recommend if you love Nature hikes (and chasing waterfalls) like me!
Valerie M — Google review
Be aware that the gorge trail is CLOSED these days. We just took a peak at the falls from the parking lot.
JitkaKac — Google review
The waterfalls just keep going! You can see so many beautiful falls in a short distance. If you don't want to walk far you can see the main falls from the car park and enjoy the picnic area there. However, I strongly recommend waking at least 10 minutes up the (many, many, many!!) steps beside the falls to see more. Your legs might want to stop but your eyes won't. Currently off-season so no entry fee (I think between mid- Oct and May)
S G — Google review
I thought this was a really cute waterfall! The water was crazy😍 (no swimming allowed at the moment) We did see some snakes!

Beauty around every corner. The gorge trail starts with a ton of stairs, but there are 2 falls just on the way up. The climb is worth the view. There are multiple falls along the trail all relatively close giving you amazing photo opportunities. There is a swimming area at the bottom of the falls right near the parking area and restrooms. There are also camping and picnicking areas. This is one of my favorite waterfall trails out of the many in the area
David N — Google review
I came here with a couple friends while visiting from out of state. The waterfall system was pretty cool to see and the trail was well maintained. There are some wetter spots on the trail from the falls and plenty of stairs, so I'd be mindful of these things as you traverse it. It's a cool spot that plenty of people were seeming to enjoy. There are also trails leading off the falls if someone wanted to hike longer and I thought that was cool. 5 stars from me!
Adam M — Google review
This is a nice well-kept state park much like many of the New York State parks we visited. Unfortunately at the time we visited (early August 2025), there wasn’t enough rain in the past few days which resulted in just a trickle to be seen on the main falls. But the staff was very helpful in guiding us to the Gorge Trail from the Lower Park area (main area) to see the other falls and pools. It is a hike up with trail and steps of about 1/2 mile and you can see 5-6 smaller waterfalls which look great. The main falls at the parking area also has a nice pool area - clean and clear water.

Good selection of healthy food and indulgences. Best for a casual night out. Unfortunately, highly inconsistent. Sometimes it's great. I have also had my worse restaurant experience every there. 2 hrs waiting for food. Bugs on vegetables. Baconless bacon bloody Mary. A raw burger. I have been a regular be for years but the last couple visits have been so horrendous, I can't imagine going back. They need to turn this around, because the concept is great.

the environment is pleasant and comfortable. the food was great. I had the carnitas tacos and I LOVED THEM. it was the exact amount of food I wanted, but I think most people will need to get something else as well as the tacos since you only get two and they aren't huge. the service was attentive, and helpful! I told them when I came in that I only had twenty minutes to eat and they got me my food and still ensured I had a great experience! so happy.

Hands down the best place to eat in town. Staffs were extremely friendly especially MiraBai she was amazingly attentive and fantastically great. She should get a raise. Portion sizes are too small but that’s what you get at gourmet places anyways. I tried swordfish, squid ink pasta, octopus, salmon and cheesecake and truly loved all of the food. Even their drinks were great. I’d definitely go back there if I’m in town.

Decent quality food, but not as good as I was expecting from reviews. Very busy place, and would definitely recommend a reservation if you want to be able to spend time here. I went without one, and they were able to seat us immediately with the condition we needed to be out before their next reservation. Highly recommend their chicken wing appetizer, if you can handle a little bit of spice. This was definitely the best dish I had to eat while there.

This was a very easy walk to see the falls. It is crazy that it is right in Ithica! Loved these falls. We went to the upper and lower falls in Treman Park, which was an awesome hike to get to Lucifer falls... Lots of beautiful sights, but Ithica falls was the best falls by far, at least this time of the year in the fall.

Great waterfalls and suspension bridge, but you can't go between the two easily, especially not without a vehicle (hilly!) And don't bother with the gorge trail as it is not much of a trail but 125 steps down with no good view of anything, and you have to climb back up that again. Parking is very limited and tight, and is the same throughway for entrance and exit, making it a bit chaotic.

Nice scenic falls. You are able very close to lower falls. The gorge and upper falls you can driving or walking up hill to rim of the gorge and exploring the pedestrian bridges.

What an absolute treasure of a place! I had heard people talk about how beautiful this waterfall is, but nothing really prepares you for the first moment you lay eyes on it. The journey to get there is half the fun: a winding trail through tall trees, the ground covered in leaves, and the sound of rushing water getting louder with every step. You can feel your anticipation building until suddenly you round a corner and there it is—tall, powerful, and absolutely majestic. The water seems to fall endlessly, hitting the rocks below with an energy that is both powerful and calming at the same time. I loved how the mist created little rainbows when the sunlight broke through the trees—absolutely magical! The whole atmosphere feels untouched, pure, and far away from the chaos of daily life.

The Mulholland Wildflower Preserve, established in 1970, is a serene nature park located in Ithaca. It offers hilly hiking trails with waterfalls, rock formations, and abundant wildflowers. The preserve is a tranquil oasis featuring over 150 acres of meadows and woodland trails. Visitors can enjoy wildlife viewing and take leisurely strolls through the picturesque landscape. Some parts of the preserve are accessible for individuals with disabilities.
Gentle walking trail by a sweet bubbling brook. We mostly enjoyed the views of the falls on the other side of the bridge from the car park - just walk up and across the road and you'll see the neat nature-meets-industry landscape.

Great trail along the water and saw a lot of beautiful plants- Trillium, Jack in the Pulpit, wild Geranium and others. Makes a little loop/turnaround at the end and the parking is easy to find and convenient. We also took my dog and she had a great time.

Excellent easy trails, a bit muddy after the rains. Enjoyed the walk along the water. Interesting pipes along the pathways. Really can't get lost. Took our pooch. They do need to pick up garbage more often. Bins overflowing. Sharp decline/incline going in and out of parking lot.

Mulholland wildflower preserve is definitely the kind of place you go to in fall evenings for the perfect sunset ambiance with birds chirping and trees giving off amazing scents. I would highly recommend visiting here. Fortunately the waters aren’t super deep in parts, which makes playing soccer viable

Cafe
Alley Cat Cafe, located in Ithaca, NY, is a charming spot that offers a unique experience of enjoying local roast coffee while being surrounded by playful and adoptable cats. The cafe collaborates with the Browncoat Cat Rescue to host rescue cats that are available for adoption. Although the menu is vegetarian and can be made vegan, it doesn't compromise on taste. Visitors can also indulge in delicious vegan desserts like chocolate truffles and raspberry lemon cake.
Alley Cat Cafe is a small little cafe with a big heart! If you love cats you will love this place. The menu is all vegetarian and can be vegan, but that didn't stop us from trying some bites. I'd recommend the chickpea curry salad it's so good. And a great quick bite. They also have tea options for non coffee drinkers like myself. Cats do not roam the cafe like you would think. Instead, they are past two glass doors. You can enter the room and hang out with the cats in 30-minute increments. You do have to pay $6 increments, but it goes go to a good cause. Once in the cat enclosure, you can't bring food with you. You get to enjoy some time with the sweetest kitties ever. I would recommend this place even for a quick fix of alone time. Or if you want to bond with a cat before adopting one of your own.

Great place to study or snack when you are stressed about school for Cornell students. Love cats and love cat cafes bc they will hopefully get a forever home! Thank you alley cat cafes for loving cats. Fun place to relax and play. It’s only $10 per hour and you can do 30 min for $5. Great deal for a college student budget.

First time coming here and I was immediately greeted by Queen Marigold who led to me to the room full of kittens! She was a sweetheart, all of them were! Most of them were sleeping so I didn't disturb them but when I got some toys out to play with the adults, that's when some of the kittens started to wake up. The little tiger I love so much, I'd adopt him if I could! He just wanted me to keep petting him, he was just purring and softly meowing, and I played with him too but he then snagged the toy right off of the pole! Such a playful kitten he is, I'll have to make another visit! All of the cats were friendly, of course some did get a little hostile towards others but not really in a fighting way due to the catnip toys so be mindful that they are cats and will do what cats do. I did get one of the espressos as well before I left and it tastes amazing, only about $6, and it's $5 for 30 minutes to visit the cats so that's not really bad and the money goes towards the cats too! I highly recommend stopping in, especially if you're looking to adopt then take a visit here first because there's plenty of kittens looking for a home.

Please visit this adorable Cafe and adopt a cat if you are dedicated to loving cats. We had a great time here and if my sister and I didn't already have 12 cats between the 2 of us, we would have taken hone 2 or 3 of these lovey babies.

Went here to grab a cup while waiting to see Kathleen Madigan at State theater. Also, a cat rescue nearby. Love the little guys! Coffee was great, too! Around the corner from state theatre. A place to stop by, and enjoy a cup of delicious coffee or tea.

This was my first time visiting this cat café with my boyfriend. We came in from New York City and had high expectations based on the 4.5-star reviews and photos. Unfortunately, our experience on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, between 3:37–4:15 PM was very disappointing. After paying for drinks and the 30-minute fee to spend time with the cats, we immediately noticed that the cat room smelled bad, and the furniture and toys didn’t seem well-cleaned or maintained. What really concerned us, however, was the treatment of one of the kittens. While we were playing with one of the larger cats, a small black kitten tried to join in, but the larger cat hit the kitten, and we later realized that the black kitten was actually being bullied by multiple cats. At one point, another large cat snuck up behind the kitten and hit it, leaving the kitten visibly scared and shaken. A staff member with long black hair, wearing a gray sweater and leggings, briefly stepped in and told one of the cats to leave the kitten alone, but she didn’t remove the aggressor or ensure the black kitten was safe. Later, when we notified another staff member at the register (fair-skinned, red hair tied up, wearing a floral shirt and jeans), her response was very concerning. She said, “Oh yea, we know, we find it funny.” This made it clear that the staff has been aware of the bullying but chooses not to address it. In other cat cafés I’ve visited, the staff are quick to step in, separate cats if needed, and make sure all of them feel safe. Here, not all the cats had a safe space, and it seemed like some were neglected. Based on what we experienced, the staff came across as irresponsible, and the environment didn’t feel caring toward the cats’ well-being. This is the photo of the black kitten that was being bullied:

Wells Falls, also known as Businessmans Lunch Falls, is a hidden gem in Ithaca that shouldn't be overlooked. Located along Six Mile Creek just a short distance from downtown Ithaca, this 35-foot waterfall cascades down several tiers, creating a picturesque sight. It's part of the Six Mile Creek Natural Area and sits adjacent to an abandoned mill that nature has almost entirely reclaimed.
Wells Falls was our first walk in Ithaca and it didn't disappoint. You must be careful and able to do a little bit of scrambling. The view from the falls area is remarkable with the old buildings there. A short but steep downhill walk to the bottom of the gorge was well worth it. You are near the road, but it feels as though you are in a very remote area. Really cool spot.
Mary M — Google review
Worth the stop when in the area. The falls are across the street from the parking area (you'll see a sign at the trail). The remains of the pump house are pretty cool, especially how they built brick around the rocks. There is a sign at the trail entrance letting you know that it's okay to walk and breathe, but not much else 😂.

Aka Businessman's Lunch Falls. Park in the small lot for Mulholland Wild Flower Preserve and walk across the bridge, enter from opposite side of bridge. Steep, short walk to the bottom of the falls so it might not be for everyone and good footwear is a must. The powerhouse ruin at the fall is very cool. Top portion is a dam and lower section is natural falls. Running hard on May 11, 2025.
Ingrid H — Google review
Incredibly gorgeous. I’m a sucker for ruins in nature. Quick to get to, the sound of the water drowned out any traffic noise so I felt completely immersed in nature though it’s just on the side of the road. You do need to be able to use your hands and balance to scramble down the rocks, but fairly easy. Kids may need help going down, especially if heading down more than the first level, but can also observe from the roadside or even the top of the path. I did go a bit further down, to the pools below the ruins and stuck my feet in. A little chilly in October but to be expected. Thought about wading across but algae/moss on the rocks was very slippery, would have wanted a walking stick or shoes with good grip for that. Seemed like there was a way to go farther down to the left but didn’t explore that, I ate my lunch there and had plenty to contemplate for a couple hours just sitting there. Please pack out any trash, not much was there, but a couple drinks had been left and forgotten. You will need both hands to get down there, so bring some sort of bag if packing a picnic. Wonderfully sunny at lunchtime, the trick was finding a place to sit without the sun in my eyes. Did find it though!

BEAUTIFUL!! park at mulholland wildflower preserve, walk back up and left across the bridge. make a right down the hillside, after the bike parking. its steep but incredibly manageable if youre in average shape. The path hooks to the right , to the base of the falls. what a beautiful spot!

Very steep but not a long walk from the road. There is a giant drop off in the water. There is also huge flat slate rocks that cut off the water, especially by the end of the water. There are also several jump spots but be careful since the sites are small.

In my view, the Dewitt mall is the beating heart of Ithaca when it comes to the holiday seasons. The crew was out front putting up Holiday lights around the front entrance when I visited there earlier today. The building superintendent Jack waved a friendly hello as I walked by. Inside, the Ithaca guitar shop had music, smells from Moosewood and the sound of children laughing at the Cats Pajamas Toy Store (go and spend some time and money there-even if you don’t have kids or a reason to), Buffalo Street Books, GreenStar ~ just a few of the many places within. All made me think that the Dewitt is haven of what used to be normal, that still is. Go visit once and you will likely enjoy the experience again

This was a beautiful tavern with lovely woodwork inside, and lovely service from the waiter to get us libations and food. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the thick and cheesy grilled cheese with the macaroni and cheese, while I enjoyed a pint of Down East cider. The cider was delicious, and so was the rest of our food as we vibed after a day exploring Ithaca. The photo is of an interesting Bills Mafia burger we saw but did not get (Go Browns).

NO BATHROOM AT RESTAURANT. The restaurant is attached to a hotel and in order for you to use the bathroom as a restaurant patron, you had to get a key from the server -- and apparently there is only one key. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular but not bad. Portion size was lacking for the price. In addition, I felt bad for the single server at the restaurant. She was bartending, waiting tables, running food, and bussing tables. Today was the Apple Harvest Festival. Either management at the restaurant thought it was going to a slow, or people called out, or having one server at 2:30PM is the norm. But, I think at one point she was waiting on about 20 people. I felt bad for her.

Located in Ithaca, New York, the Ithaca Ale House is a laid-back establishment known for its rotating craft beers and signature burgers and sandwiches. The atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends or to unwind after a day of exploring nearby attractions like Taughannock Falls State Park or Robert H.
Visited Ithaca Ale House and loved it. My husband had the Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon, and I had the Ancho Citrus Gluten Free Salad, and my daughter had the grilled cheese and everything was delicious! We all ate every bite - the food was so satisfying. The host and our server were also very nice and attentive!

We decided to check out the Ithaca ale house because of a TikTok that I saw regarding the skillet wings. The flavor of the skillet wings were so good however, I wish there was a little more topping on them for paying two dollars extra to make them skillet and the beer, cheese was really good, but the pretzel was average. It wasn’t really busy inside, so our waitress gave us a lot of attention and she was very sweet. I can’t remember her name, but she did a great job. The host seemed a bit flustered, but it could just have been an off day for him. I would definitely go back and get the wings again if I would visit Ithaca. The atmosphere was just your basic bar, but they did have a lot of seating.

Dropped into Ale House with high expectations after a recommendation from an Ithacan. The lady at the reception was engaged in a long conversation with a young man and didn’t notice me standing there. When she finally took me to a table, she showed no courtesy or hospitality, which was disappointing. However, the young lady who served me was polite and attentive, and she ensured my food arrived promptly. Although they claim to have an award-winning burger, I didn’t find anything particularly unique about it. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the restaurant.

Great value for the money. Good portions Fresh and tasty Good presentation Very clean Knowledgable and patient servers Comfortable seating Bathrooms are clean Great beer selection at reasonable prices and tall pours Food is delicious and onion rings crisp and tasty though I think they should be thicker cut as it does not provide enough of the onion and onion flavour due to the batter to onion ratio Burger bun to burger meat ratio perfect. Meat cook, texture, seasoning, and freshness was A1 All in all a surprisingly solid dining experience and will certainly patron whenever possible.

First time visiting. Oh my the food!!! It was a hard decision to make but I chose a burger and what a great choice - juicy, flavorful and cooked and put together as I ordered!! The French fries are the BEST I have EVER had!! We also ordered boneless wings with garbage sauce and omg soooo good and large portion. The cook did a fabulous job. My daughter ordered a Cesar salad and it was huge and she said very good along with a large pub pretzel and of course that was good too. I will definitely be returning!! I ate here based on Google reviews. I was not impressed. When I arrived at 9:30 am it was not busy but the service was very slow. My server was inattentive and didn’t express any interest in my wellbeing. My food was delivered so slowly that I had to rush to eat and then hustled to the register to pay because I knew that my one-hour parking meter was nearly expired. I was parked less than five minutes from the cafe, so you can see it took me 50 minutes to get my meal, pay and rush to my vehicle. I had three minutes spare. Google directions are inadequate. The photo shows there is no signage only for the cafe. When you go through the entrance you need to take the stairs down and then walk ahead. There is a funny smell in the lower level where the cafe is.

Ports of New York Winery is a very nice place with knowledgeable and friendly owners. They make some excellent wine, with a majority of it coming from France. It's a small winery, but worth visiting if you're in the area.
I would absolutely recommend! the owner is knowledgeable and loves to share his knowledge. All of the wines were good, I thought the Bordeaux blend was AMAZING, and I loved the darker port as well. with only four wines to taste it felt like a wide range of flavors.

We spent a day in ithica and this was our favorite thing. The wine was outstanding and Fredric the owner was great at walking us through each one during the tasting. It was also very cool to learn about the family history of this business and the antiques that made up the museum. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or casual drinker, either way we’d recommend.

Amazing place for wine ! Frederic the owner is very passionate about what he is doing. He explained very well and we feel very welcoming. Nice Artifacts museum

The couple (Bouché) that owns and run this winery are just the best. I've been on many winery tours on my 70 years, but this one taught me more about the French methods of wine making than any other tour I've been on. Just really fun and educational.

This winery in downtown Ithica is in a beautiful building and has a small wine museum inside. The owner is so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of wine and winemaking. The tasting menu is small but wonderful with some off dry wines and dessert wines. I enjoyed the experience completely and did not leave empty handed.

A must see place in Ithaca for wine lovers! Very authentic and unique experience of wine tasting and culture. The visit was very enjoyable and full of information. The wine was superb, tasty, and unique. A lot of history in that place, and you will have the chance to see part of the process of wine making with a beautiful explanation from the owner.

Such an open park, lots of parking and spaces to sit, I saw a walking path and playgrounds. My kids would have loved this park! The lake is breathtaking too. Especially with the mountains in the background. It's a good place for a picnic or just to hang out!

Liquid State Brewing Company is a top-notch brewery located in the West End District of downtown Ithaca. This locally owned establishment prides itself on producing high-quality, small-batch beers using a 20 hectoliter brewhouse. The on-site beer hall offers an array of fresh ales, lagers, IPAs, as well as local wines and ciders.
Awesome staff and fun opportunities to take part in! The expected brewery experience with several additional bonuses not to be missed! Every taste has some consideration from these experts in the deliciousness arts so don't be afraid to inquire about something suitable to your preferences.

It's possible to enjoy a brewery's varied selection so much that at least two flights are needed to accentuate the facts. Liquid State Brewing in Ithaca is one of those. The vibe, service, and beers are all solid. Delicious dark meat chicken treats are available from Silo, their resident food truck. Good sticker game.

My family visited Liquid State Brewing Company yesterday. We had a wonderful time. There was a wonderful selection of beverages ranging from beers to NA cocktails. Be sampled most of the IPAs. All were good! Food was from the food truck. Chicken, fries and mac & cheese was delicious. We'll be back!

I had a very disappointing experience at this bar. The bartender refused to serve me a beer because I didn’t have my passport, even though I showed an official government-issued ID. He was also quite rude and unhelpful, showing no effort to explain the situation politely. I understand that bars must check IDs, but there’s a way to do it with respect and basic courtesy. Other bars in the area had no problem accepting my ID and were much friendlier. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

Good pretzels and as a non drinker it's not an oppressively alcohol type of environment. There are games and plenty of space to play, pretty quite in the backroom too. The only downside are the picnic table style tables in said backroom.

Not a popular state parks so we came here with less expectations and were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful hikes. Gorge trail was pretty flat hike. Lots of waterfalls to see till the 115 ft Lucifer falls. We saw folks taking the rim trail too to view the Lucifer falls from the viewing deck. Trail to the swimming hole Enfield Glen falls has a pretty flat trail. Not very crowded too. But swimming was closed when we reached at 4 pm. Folks can take the trail from the lower to the upper entrance but we drove as they have parking lots in both places.

Starting from the Old Mill, the Gorge Trail is an unforgettable hike through some of the most stunning natural scenery in the region. The trail winds along dramatic rock formations carved by centuries of water flow, with cascading waterfalls and lush greenery at every turn. The stone steps and ledges offer breathtaking views—but also call for good, sturdy shoes, as the terrain can be uneven and slippery in spots. This is a mild to moderate hike that rewards every step with visual splendor. The sound of rushing water and the cool shade of the gorge make it a refreshing escape on a warm day. Whether you're an avid hiker or just out for a scenic walk, this trail is a must-see.

Well worth the hike to see the upper falls! Take the gorge trail to see the best view of the upper falls. It is a nice hike with lots of stairs, tree roots and rocks. There are about 100 steps when you get Close to the point with the best views... But worth the hike!

She was waiting to greet the eldest bird lover, my mother. At the age of 102, Catherine had the best time recognizing the variety of birds, while Rachel showed us some of the hands on displays. Rachel's kindness and genuine interest in making Catherine's experience a positive one was beyond what we ever expected. This place was an unexpected delight. The family and I are visiting Ithaca and ran into some rainy weather that spoiled a lot of outdoor plans we'd made for the day. We decided to give the lab a shot. Peter was working the front desk, and he gave us a verbal your of the public area, and was very helpful with my son, encouraging him to log his bird observations into the touch screen device they had for such things. There is a really cool interactive area with a microscope, short videos, and art made from feathers and bones. Also there was a small art gallery featuring realistic nature renderings (and a whole how-to video series in the auditorium) It was free to the public and provided us with a very entertaining 2 hours. Really cool spot!

Fun museum about birds, the front desk lady was so awesome about explaining everything. They offer binoculars to borrow to view the birds and ducks in the water out front. Don’t forget to go upstairs! This was a cool experience.

Fascinating Stop on Our Way Home My wife and I stopped by the Museum of the Earth on a Sunday afternoon while heading home from the Finger Lakes region. It turned out to be a great little detour! The museum is on the smaller side, but very well done. We spent about an hour walking through and really enjoyed the peaceful, quiet atmosphere—there were only a few other visitors at the time, which made it easy to take our time and explore. Two highlights for us were the massive Right Whale skeleton suspended overhead and the incredibly well-preserved Mastodon, which was discovered in Hyde Park, NY and is an astonishing 97% complete. It’s a great place to stop, stretch your legs, and learn more about New York State’s prehistoric past. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area or passing through!
Thierry C — Google review
The exhibits were well put together and interactive highly recommend downloading the audio tour, but be aware that the audio numbers do not match the museum map. Liked digging for our own fossils and the large mammoth skeleton. Highly recommend for a rainy day activity with the family.

The Museum of the Earth, though modest in size, offers an impressively comprehensive look at the planet’s geological and evolutionary history. Exhibits cover fossils, climate change, and New York State’s own natural heritage in a clear and accessible way. Visitors can expect to spend 30–60 minutes, depending on the depth of engagement with the interactive displays and informative videos. While compact, the museum provides a rich educational experience that appeals to both casual visitors and those with a deeper interest in Earth sciences.

This place is a great place to go with kids if you need to do something indoors because of bad weather. The exhibits were just ok. It felt a bit old and out of date. It’s not very engaging or interactive. Even the scavenger hunt was a bit sad. You wander around and you don’t see anybody that works there to engage the kids or guests with questions or spark any curiosity. Even the admission ticket people seemed a bit sad. It’s not a bad thing to do with kids but not on the top of my list.

We had our Wedding this past September at museum of the earth. Rob and Kelby were very helpful along with the other front desk staff who allowed us to tour the space, ask (a lot of) questions and it turned out to be such a fun space to host our guests. We had about 100 people and fit pretty comfortably. It's definitely a DIY type of space - we brought in all our own vendors including rentals, catering, DJ, and photographer. We had full access to the whole museum and enough space for a dance floor too. They also allowed us to play a slideshow of photos on a big tv in their little small theater that is usually there for the museum while the party was going on. We really wanted a fun unique venue and for our money to support a good cause and the museum of the earth really delivered on both accounts. Made for a fun theme too - we made our entrance in dinosaur costumes and had some fun dinosaur themed activities for the kiddos. Thanks! Photos are by photographer Anna Simonak - she was amazing as well if you're looking for a great photographer ;)

🍷 Perfect Pre-Flight Wine Tasting with Chelsea! 🍷 Yesterday we stopped at Six Mile Creek Vineyard before our hot air balloon ride — and wow, what a perfect way to start the evening! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. The highlight of our visit was Chelsea, who guided us through the tasting with such warmth and deep knowledge of the wines. She took the time to explain each selection, offered great recommendations based on our tastes, and made the entire experience feel personal and relaxed. We tried a lovely mix of reds, whites, and even some local specialties we’d never had before — and walked away with a few new favorites (and a couple bottles to bring home!). We were trying to find relaxing things to do after several days of hiking. Six Mile Creek Vineyard happened to be right up the road from where we were staying and we just lucked into an amazing experience. We did a super inexpensive but amazing wine tasting, had a couple of glasses on the deck, tried some awesome gin, and got a couple bottles to take back home. Absolutely awesome service, gorgeous views from the deck, and everyone is super friendly as well as knowledgeable. Plus the wine is great! Can't recommend the place enough!

We were visiting Ithaca and surrounding areas and decided to stop at this winery. Reservations are recommended for a wine tasting, but you can always grab wine by the glass and use their indoor and outdoor seating areas. Dan helped us with our tasting and he was fun to talk to. We could pick 6 different wines amongst all categories and it was really nice to taste the wines that were made out of locally grown grapes. The tasting was good value for money and their grounds were gorgeous.

We were shocked to hear she had only been here 2 mths. The training of new employees must be very good here. Also some delicious cheeses, meats and crackers to add to your experience.

Cute family winery with a nice size deck for enjoying the views. Blankets provided for the visitors was a nice offering. Staff was very friendly and knew their wines! We enjoyed our visit!

Rocky Falls, located near Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, is a 30-foot high waterfall that is the widest of the falls along the 1.8-mile stretch of Fall Creek. The area has been designated as a Recreational River by the State of New York, ensuring its preservation and protection from development. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the falls from a suspension bridge, although parking in the area can be challenging.
Rocky Falls is located near Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It has a suspension bridge that allows better views of the fall while crossing. There is a hydroelectric powerhouse operated by Cornell University close by to the falls.

Parking is an issue in this area, so we stopped briefly past the bridge to take a look. The view from the bridge is beautiful.
Mary C — Google review
Can’t really get a good view of the falls. Looked from the suspension bridge. They have safety mesh up so can’t even take a decent photo.
Greg A — Google review
There is a small, free, parking area off of Falls Drive. Easy walk to the suspension bridge. If you are on the other side, stairs down to the suspension bridge. Parking is nonexistent. College area permitted parking only. I was unable to find a way down to the falls. Other reviews say there is a way? The suspension bridge is covered with netting. I suppose for safety purposes. Hard to get good photos with it in place.

A great view if your afraid of heights this one isn't for you but if you still go it is surely a rush of adrenaline, the views are breath taking!!

Another great waterfall on the Fall Creek river in Ithaca!
Robert M — Google review
Very wide open space when you view these falls on the suspension bridge. Anywhere else the view is blocked and the falls are not in direct line of sight. Also very difficult to find parking and the only "legal" parking is on the north side next the to bridge entrance. There needs to be a closer view available.

Nice view from the road. Can walk down the path to get a closer look on the foot path over the gorge.

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of 120 acres of woods, trails, gorges, and waterfalls, Cayuga Nature Center offers a delightful experience for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can explore scenic gorge trails and encounter live animals while enjoying interactive exhibits. The highlight is a remarkable 6-story treehouse that captivates with its intricate design. The charming 1930s lodge adds to the allure of this natural haven, making it an ideal setting for various celebrations.
The tree house was pretty cool but everything else is over grown and not accessible. All the animals are gone, all the gardens are over grown along with most of the walking trail. There is absolutely nowhere to use the bathroom. It was beautiful though

The treehouse is beautiful, and my child really enjoyed it! However, the nature center was closed, and the animal enclosures were empty. Additionally, there was no access to bathrooms. On a positive note, we did enjoy walking along the trails.

We planned to visit here last summer, but ran out of time. Unfortunately we didn't read any updated info about visiting and were disappointed to see empty, covered up cages. The tree house is still there, sadly there is some graffiti on it. Cayuga Nature Center really needs some upkeep, but we did see several groups with children on our short hike to the treehouse. Maybe the trails are fine for hiking, but a lot appeared to be overgrown.

I arrived at 3 pm on a Monday. I was the only visitor in the parking lot. An employee was standing outside of the building. She advise me how to access a couple of the trails and said that the Nature center was closed. 😐 It wasn't supposed to close for two hours. Disappointed in that. The grounds, especially around the nature center, needs upkeep. What a shame. I don't know anything about this place. Maybe they run on donations and don't have the money/manpower to keep it in top shape? The peeling paint in the rear makes it look derelict. Taughannock Falls is right down the street and was busy so I was floored that no one else was here for the trail and Nature Center. (She said they are busy in the summer). A couple people showed up as a was leaving. The adult/kid tree house was pretty neat. Only a short walk from the parking lot. There seems to be a few trails but I didn't do much hiking on them. Cool gorge and shaded trail. Nice view from the parking lot.

It's a cool place to checkout. It has a pretty big tree house built by students decades ago. There's not much to do here besides hike some trails and see the treehouse. There are way better hikes around there area if that's what you're interested in. I don't think it's worth going out of your way to come here to see the tree house. The top is covered with hard plastic so there isn't a great view. It's cramped and pretty dirty. I'd say it's worth checking out for like 15 minutes and it's on the way to something else.

Tree house was super cool, but the nature center closed during the pandemic and now sits abandoned. I was a little disappointed bc I was looking forward to seeing the animals. The nature center building is beautiful and has a lot of history, so it’s sad to see it just sitting abandoned, as well as the things around it. Trails have A LOT of ticks so beware!
Heather S — Google review
The treehouse itself is amazing. What a shame the rest of the nature center is closed and looks more like a scene out of Jurassic Park 28 years later. 😢 was really hoping for the whole experience but we made the most of treehouse. So many nooks and grannies for kids to climb into, up, and down!! What a great project this must have been when it was built by the local high school students. Since the center is closed you need to use the garden gate/door around to the left to access the pathway to the treehouse. A short walk up the hill toward the right
Tracey ( — Google review
The vault toilet is a bit of a hike through the woods. I dont recommend. We had a total of 6 ticks. No tp. Fallen tree in path. The tree house is cool...better path than the bathroom. The lodge is closed fyi.
