Tjong A Fie Mansion, built in 1895, is the restored home of the renowned businessman Tjong A Fie. It serves as a gallery and offers guided tours for visitors. The mansion stands as a historical landmark and museum, representing Medan's rich heritage. Despite Medan's European plantation town appearance, Tjong A Fie, a Chinese immigrant, became its most famous resident through his remarkable rags-to-riches story.
Very interesting history. Even though the house is very old, we can still see how grand it still is. The owner are really proud of this house. The two floors consist of 30 rooms. Beautiful dancing hall. Great kitchen with fire made out of wood so we know the food should taste great. The house was well designed with garden in the centre of the house and also at the entrance as well. Parking to this place is a bit of a problem as there are not many carpark space.

Tjong A Fie Mansion is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich places I visited in Medan. This historical house, once the home of a Chinese businessman and philanthropist, is now a well-preserved museum that offers a glimpse into Medan’s past and its multicultural heritage. The architecture is stunning, with a unique blend of Chinese, Malay, and European influences. Every room is decorated with antique furniture, intricate wood carvings, and family photos that give life to the mansion’s history. Walking through the house feels like stepping back in time. I really enjoyed exploring the courtyard and admiring the details in the structure. It’s also a great spot for photography—there’s natural light filtering through the windows, colorful tiles, and so many elegant corners to capture. The staff are friendly and happy to share more about the history of the house and the legacy of Tjong A Fie, who played a significant role in the development of Medan. If you’re visiting Medan and want to see more than just nature and food, I highly recommend adding Tjong A Fie Mansion to your list. It’s peaceful, educational, and full of character.

The Tjong A Fie Residence has been converted into a museum and is now a popular tourist destination. It's open daily from 9am to 5pm, with an entrance fee of IDR 35,000. The museum has two floors, featuring exhibits including chairs, tables, a telephone, piano, photos of Tjong A Fie and his family, and more. Today, there was event which held by Alliance Française Medan collaborated with Urban Sketchers Medan , we gathered to sketch Tjong A Fie Mansion It was really fun, guys!!!

Stepped into the Tjong A Fie Mansion in Medan, and it’s like stumbling into the haunted cousin of Penang’s Cheong Fatt Tze Blue Mansion, which I visited just months ago. Both are time capsules of Chinese tycoon swagger, built by Hakka merchants who hustled from rags to riches. Built in 1895 and finished in 1900 by Tjong A Fie, a Hakka merchant who clawed his way from Guangdong poverty to become Medan’s plantation kingpin, this 8,000 sqm, 35-room, 2-story beast screams ambition. The architecture’s a wild mashup- Chinese feng shui vibes with Malay flair and Art Deco swagger, plus Italian hand-painted tiles and gilded wood panels that ooze opulence. It’s a museum now, open since 2009 to mark Tjong’s 150th birthday, and still partly lived in by his descendants, which adds a creepy, lived-in ghost story vibe. Tjong, who died in 1921 at 61 from a brain hemorrhage, was no ordinary fat cat. He bankrolled a third of Medan’s grand Al Mashun Mosque, built bridges, schools, and hospitals, and even founded Bank Kesawan in 1913. His plantation empire - palm oil, sugar, tobacco made him Sumatra’s first Chinese millionaire, and his title as ‘Majoor der Chineezen’ (Chinese Major) in 1911 cemented his clout with the Dutch, Deli Sultanate, and locals. The mansion’s courtyard, a serene “Well of Heaven,” feels like a brief escape from the chaos, but don’t be fooled - rumors has it some whisper of supernatural chills in certain rooms at night. Entry’s a measly IDR 35,000 (~$2.30), including a guide who’ll spill family secrets, but the heat inside’s brutal. It’s a haunting peek into Medan’s past.

As a Chinese culture place, the locals preserved the place quite well to my surprise. You got to learn the history of Medan Chinese (hakka), how this rich kapitan (tjong a fie) made history and the Chinese culture of this place. A very nice antique mansion filled with elements of Sumatera/ Malay & Chinese culture. The fees are not expensive, about RM4.80+- which is a small contribution to protect this heritage building.

If you interested with Tjong A Fie's life and history, then this place is worth to visit, because this place will show you the mansion of Tjong A Fie and his history. The guide was communicative and can clearly tell the story of Tjong A Fie. Good historic place to visit in Medan city. Last visit on: 5 September 2025, 13:40 WIB.

The most unique and beautiful 😍✨❤church💒 Friendly staffs. It's said combination between India and Mughal. Also the name was derived from the name of a village in India 🇮🇳

Very uniquely themed RC church. Should be the largest in Medan, if not whole of N. Sumatra. Loved the theming and details they put into the building design. If there is only time to visit one religious architecture in Medan, this should be the one. Remember to take off your shoes at the church main hall and they don’t allow photo taking while inside the hall.

This is the most beautiful Catholic church I know, alongside the Pilgrimage Church of St. Maria in Munich/Thalkirchen. It has an impressive presence and radiates a powerful, uplifting energy. I will definitely come back 🙏🏻

Very unique architecture for a church, mix of Hindu and Buddhist temple elements. Free entrance. It's outskirts of city but can easily get Grab. Note the use of Allah unlike in Malaysia is prohibited.

This magical church surprises because of his on of a kind building style. It really disliked my taste but this does not mean you can't enjoy it. The entrance is free but please wear appropriate clothes. (long and clean) There even is free parking in a lot on the other side of the street. Clean, unique, free and welcoming. You can't go wrong with the experience.

Worship place in medan. Also served as a church, mainly for sri lankan descent. The architecture is very unique, whilst most church used modern design , this church use south asian model. The place is very quiet and serene, many people retreated to this place to gain peace of mind. They also have a natural spring, which is believed to bring positive effect to the people.

This is a really nice and peaceful place. You can look around and just sit in peace. Uodate on 7th October 2018- people weren't allowed to go up which was disappointing. There used to be wishing fountain but now I am not sure if people still throw the coins or no. There wasn't lights on like before. There is free candle provided inside the praying room so you don't need to buy candle from the shop. Just give money as offering.

If you're in Medan and looking for a unique experience, the Rahmat International Wildlife Museum & Gallery is a must-visit. The displays are categorized according to habitat, offering visitors a chance to appreciate the diversity of wildlife worldwide. Yosephine R — Google review
With my Zoology degree I have high standards but honestly this is less of a museum and more of a glorified personal collection of stuffed animals, mainly big cats. There are many inaccuracies in the little information provided in English. Endemic birds from my own country labelled entirely wrong. The owner has a big enough ego to fill entire rooms with trophies and medals congratulating himself, yuck.
Maxwell B — Google review
Entry fee for local is Rp 75.000, for tourist is Rp 150.000 Remember to change your free small popmie after strolling around the gallery. It's facinating that they used real animal and preserve it, so nothing is fake A super wonderfull experience & my first time visiting real animal museum 👍👍👍👍👍

Maha Vihara Maitreya is a significant Buddhist temple complex in Indonesia, boasting impressive Chinese architecture and serene gardens. It offers insight into Medan's religious background and traditions, making it a popular destination for those interested in Buddhism. The temple's ornate walls are adorned with intricate reliefs of mythical creatures, providing ample photo opportunities.
Visiting this temple during Chinese New Year is truly a magical experience! The temple is beautifully decorated with vibrant red lanterns, incense smoke swirling in the air is beautiful yet peaceful There are many picture stalls with traditional Chinese decorations, lucky charms, and festive backdrops, it's ideal for taking memorable photos. Worth to visit ✨️🫶

One of the largest temple in Medan but they focus more on Buddha Maitreya. Temple are really big and spacy, a lot of public facilities provided like toilet, Fortunate cafe and Teko Healthy Restaurant. Please kindly noted this public space is actually a temple, so dress politely and respect people who are praying in this temple. During weekend and afternoon you can see a lot of children playing in front of the temple. Please don't climb on the stone statue. They also have souvenir store beside the main hall temple.

When we stepped into this Maitreya Buddha Hall, it was as if we had entered a magnificent palace. The huge spacious hall and Buddha statues left us in awe and amazement, and it can be said to be one of the largest Buddhist temple in Asia. This Maitreya Buddhist Temple was built in Medan Indonesia by a Buddhist sect from Taiwan which founded decades ago in Taiwan that grow into a powerful worldwide Buddhist sect shortly. The whole complex consist of main hall at ground floor mainly for disciples's use in worship & praying activity, adjacent to a big vegetarian restaurant. The majestic and beautiful Buddhist temple is also regarded by the locals as an entertainment and photo spot for leisure walks. This temple is definitely a worthwhile experience for anyone who has not been here before. (010722/290922)

The State Museum of North Sumatra offers a fascinating exploration of the region's history and culture. Visitors can embark on a visual journey through different periods, including the Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Dutch colonial eras. The museum houses an impressive collection of tribal artifacts such as ancient weaponry, textiles, farming equipment, and carved wooden coffins. It provides well-documented exhibits in both English and Indonesian to offer insights into the rich heritage of the province.
This museum well worth a visit if your in Medan. 2 levels. Interesting exhibits. Good lighting. Descriptions are in English as well as Indonesian. Parking onsite.

This museum is must visit when you go Medan. It gives you a lot information about cultural heritage in North Sumatra. Too bad the av room not working, I believe it will give better information and experience. They should have renovate the toilet 😅, and have cafetaria.
Ilma P — Google review
Loved how the museum set up the history of Indonesia. It was very interesting to walk through, esp with Medan being our first stop in a 29 day tour through the country. We did get bit by mosquitos while in the museum. They need to do a few repairs, esp in women’s bathroom. Overall a good place to go and learn about the country.
Crystal T — Google review
The rich history of North Sumatra is on display with timeless artifects which is well maintained. My only gripe would be that you are left on your own to figure out the route to take to cover the entire museum.. A brochure with directional guidance to navigate the various rooms across the 2 winged floors would have been very helpful to the visitors.
Md A — Google review
An aesthetic museum in Medan, you can find many spot photos while learning the history of North Sumatera. The charging fee is cheap around Rp3000 per person, where you can feel comfortable in the museum. It has strategic places, beside the center road, but it is closed at 4pm.
Satrianda B — Google review
Well, I wasn't even charged for a ticket. I was just requested to fill some personal info on a registration book. I don't even know why. This two-floor museum actually has a lot of things to see. However most exhibits do not have high value and lack descriptions. Even if there are descriptions, they are the general ones not specifically about the exhibit on display so you don't even know how old an exhibit is. Not so much a professional exhibition for a state-level museum. Still a nice experience provided it's free or cheap enough, though I was in fact a bit disappointed. Also there are many locals here who seem to treat it like a playground and I have no idea what their roles are even whether they are visitors or staffs. The cleaning lady made very irritating noises when cleaning the staircase.
T. S — Google review
This place could really use some professional touch. Toilet is awful, some collections are put just like that, and not much information available for visitors. No flyers nor guidance. But the ticket officer is friendly.

Nasi goreng restaurant
Located across the street from Tjong A Fie Mansion, Tip Top Restaurant is a long-standing establishment in Medan, dating back to 1934. This iconic restaurant features colonial-style architecture and offers a diverse menu of Indonesian and international cuisine. In addition to savory dishes, visitors can indulge in delectable cakes from the in-house bakery or enjoy ice cream from the parlor.
Service was quick and friendly. The fried rolls with potato and beef were quite an interesting flavor combination and tasted really good with sambal. The Nasi Goreng was as goodness it looked. The rendang was absolutely delicious in terms of flavor - truly a dream - but unfortunately the beef could have used more cooking time to become tender, as it was still a bit fibrous and tough 🐮 Unfortunately, no wine was available on the menu 🍷 Still, it was definitely worth a visit and overall a restaurant I would recommend ✅ Thank you 🙏🏻❤️

Positioned in the popular Kesawan Medan City and Adjacent to the legendary Tip Top Restaurant, ***Tip Top Bakery & Cake Shop*** (only managed to try here) is a cozy, old-school bakery that’s been around since the 1930s, carrying the charm of the good old days. Walking in carries you to where the smell of butter and sugar brings back childhood memories. Tried two of their popular items: the Pineapple Pie and Black Forest Cake. Pineapple Pie – The filling tasted like homemade jam goodness with chunky pineapple that gave a nice, natural sweetness. Wished the crust was a little more buttery and crumbly with more filling so every bite could be as satisfying as the first. Black Forest Cake - A fun twist on the classic that we (or I) know, Instead of the usual cherries/ blueberries, it had raisins inside, which added a different kind of sweetness. The cake was moist and chocolate sprinkles on the sides gave it a playful touch. Not what I expected, but still tasty! Tip Top remains a must-visit for anyone in Medan, whether you’re a local craving childhood flavors or a visitor looking for a taste of history. Prices are fair, and the vintage vibe makes the experience even better. Tip: enjoy a cuppa with your choice of goodies from the bakery during day time and or stay over for dinner with ice cream 🍨 over live band.

The most popular restaurant selling western food in Medan, placed nearby Kesawan oldtown area. The building is so historical and old-fashioned in its interior design and decorations. Just ordered an omelette with prawns and breads, chinese asparagus soup, and a glass of guava juice for my own - it tasted delicious and well prepared! But, I advise you to not asking why all the prices are not reasonable, I think you all have gotten its reason. 😃🤗 Even though many tables are reserved and quite crowded inside, I thought we did not wait too long to have our late lunch after a delayed flight to Kualanamu. At an exactly 1 hour, we have filled our stomach for an early 'big night snack' before getting the real dinner dishes. 🤣😭 Overall, this is a recommended restaurant to hunt when you walk around oldtown Kesawan and need something to fill your tummy! 😁🥰
Timothy N — Google review
I was in a time machine back years ago! Ordered classic ice cream that I could now rarely find elsewhere. Tasted really good. The vibe and the smell suggested it was old, but generally the restaurant was well maintained. Good place to go when in town.

Tried the chicken steak. Very good batter on the chicken with a very unique sauce which is very fragrant and well balanced. Not so sure whether there is a Dutch influence in the taste (perhaps not). Fat fries are of good quality, like those I would taste in Australia or New Zealand. I am so plesantly surprised. The special fried rice has great umami. Service was quick and there is an air-conditioned and non ac area to choose from. I bought a couple of cakes and snack from the bakery. The croquette-in-a springroll is very very yummy. The chocolate cake is excellent, perhaps from cocoa grown in Sumatra. The cannoli will do well in Italy. The piped cream is delicious. The flour, butter and ingredients are of good quality. The cakes might look old school but they are very good!

This is a must stop vintage restaurant if you are visiting Medan. The building & the restaurant itself already there for century. Famous with its dessert cake, which is baked manually with wood burning stove, thats why it has really good smell and taste so good.

Tip Top Bakery Cake Shop, Medan, Indonesia

Popped into Tip Top expecting a cake, got a time machine to 1929. This place has been churning out mochas and misery since Jangkie Yap opened it under Dutch colonial noses - surviving Japanese bans and independence upheavals like a cockroach in a warzone. Their signature mocha cake, coated in chocolate sprinkles, tastes like nostalgia with a side of wood-smoked regret, thanks to a 1934 stone oven that’s seen more drama than Kesawan Street. Statistically, they’ve baked enough cakes to bury Medan in frosting, with over 90 years of daily output (call it 50 cakes/day = ~1.6 million cakes by 2025). The vibe? Colonial ghost chic—creaky chairs and waiters who glare like you stole their recipe. Downside: service drags slower than a Dutch bureaucrat, and the cakes aren’t moist enough to cry over. Still, it’s a heritage haunt opposite Tjong A Fie’s mansion, so you’re eating history. Grab the speculaas for Dutch spice with a hint of existential dread.

Nestled in the vibrant Indian quarter of Medan, the Mariamman Temple stands as a stunning testament to cultural diversity and architectural beauty. Established in 1884, this Hindu temple is dedicated to the goddess of rain and showcases an exquisite Dravidian style typical of South India. Visitors can wander through its colorful alleyways, marveling at intricate designs and ornate decorations that adorn its storied tower.
The biggest Hindu temple in this town, even in Indonesia. Located in Little Indiatown which most of the citizens here are Indian descendants. It is opened for non Hindu or tourists. Before you enter inside the temple, you must wash your hand, feet, and face. Same like Muslims before enter mosque. It age is 136 yo. The ornaments inside and outside the temple is so wonderful and reflect pure Hindu faith, gods and goddesses are stand stall. This temple was officially signed by former North Sumatera governor, and had fully restoration in 1991.

Masjid Raya Al-Mashun, also known as the Grand Mosque, is a significant tourist attraction in Medan. It holds historical and religious value, attracting many Muslim visitors due to its unique architectural style. The mosque's stunning exterior resembles a beautiful wedding cake and features Moorish and cathedral influences. Inside, it symbolizes the Muslim community and the essence of Islam in Medan.
Visiting Masjid Raya Al Mashun in Medan was a very special experience. The mosque is not only a place of worship but also a piece of art. The architecture inside is stunning, it features a Moroccan-style design, which makes it stand out from many other mosques in Indonesia. As a Moroccan myself, I felt proud and deeply connected seeing this style so far from home. It was a nice surprise and made the visit even more meaningful. The mosque is very clean and well-maintained, and i was welcomed by a friendly local guide who shared some history and details about the mosque, which added a lot to the experience. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Medan, whether for prayer or to appreciate the unique architecture.

The mosque is absolutely stunning — one of the most beautiful landmarks in Medan and a must-see for anyone who appreciates architecture, culture, or history. From the outside, the building is breathtaking. The combination of white and green colors, the large domes, the detailed arches, and the elegant windows create a majestic and peaceful atmosphere. The architectural design blends Islamic, Indian, and Middle Eastern styles perfectly, making it stand out among all the buildings nearby. The surroundings are also clean, calm, and filled with a sense of serenity. There are tall trees and open spaces around the mosque, which make the area feel refreshing and spiritual at the same time. Even just sitting outside and observing the details of the structure gives a feeling of peace and admiration. Although I couldn’t enter, I could see how respectful and well-maintained everything was. The locals nearby were very kind and welcoming, and you can truly feel the cultural and religious importance of this place in the heart of Medan. If you’re visiting Medan, I highly recommend stopping by Masjid Raya Al Mashun — even if you can only see it from the outside. It’s not just a mosque; it’s a symbol of faith, beauty, and the rich heritage of North Sumatra. 🌿✨

I sent lot of parcels to medan and all of them were delivered as fast as possible. However if I already paid the postage fee in another country why do people who received the parcel had to pay 20000 rupiah per parcel. I have never seen that anywhere. Not to forget sometimes one has to go the post office and collect the parcel and they ask for bills even though the sender already declared the amount of the clothes and other products. 4 star cause every item was delivered. If you are into philately you can get good stamps here.

Nearby little india( Kampung Madras). Was unfortunate enough to be there on Sunday as the place was packed with cars. Our attempt to find a parking inside the mall was a failure and had to resort to parking a few hundreds meter away. The mall was comfy. They do body screen upon arrival by the main gate, but its more to a gimmick. The inferior was nice and cooling, and gives you a good vibes.. Prices are on the expensive side. Oh.. Their toilets were clean and that is impressive, cos a good clean toilet is becomes a yardstick to differentiate a good mall and a bad one.. Overall its a good place to shop.

Old City Hall, located in Medan, is a historic building that was once part of the Bank Indonesia building. It may have served as the city hall during the colonial period and is situated at the city's zero point. This colonial-era structure has stood the test of time in the Kesawan area, amidst other old buildings that have fallen into disrepair. The area offers a glimpse into Medan's past and is known for its unique betor transportation system.
Built in 1903, it was a city hall. Now it is used as coffee shop.

The Old Medan City Hall was built in 1908 during the Dutch colonial period. The building was designed by C. Boon, an architect for the Deli Group. The City Hall is kilometre zero in Medan, and was originally built for De Javasche Bank (now Bank Indonesia), but was instead purchased by the City Council of Medan. Its bell was donated in 1913 from the Tjong A Fie Mansion. Medan City Hall is now owned and managed by the Grand Aston City Hall hotel-office-retail complex, situated just behind it.

(Translated by Google) Based on existing historical records, the old city hall building was previously known as the Gemeentehuis, which was built in 1908 with designs from the Hulswit Architect Bureau. In 1913, this building underwent an addition in the form of a large wall clock attached to the top of the building with the help of Chinese entrepreneur Tjong A Fie, which at that time could produce the sound of a carillon. Then, in 1923, this building underwent renovations again. The Old City Hall building was abandoned when the new City Hall building began to be built in 1990. However, after the Grand Aston Hotel was built behind it, the building still maintained its shape and is even well maintained and can be used as a support for the hotel even though ownership is still with the City Government ( Medan City Government. It is said that during the independence era, twelve mayors were recorded as having offices in this building, starting from Luat Siregar (1945) to the last, H. Agus Salim Rangkuty (1990). Even though the building is more than hundreds of years old, physically it still exudes its elegant and antique charm. Meanwhile, historically, this building has been designated as a cultural heritage building (BCB) based on the Cultural Heritage Law Number 10 of 2010 and Medan City Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 2 of 2012 (Original) Berdasarkan catatan sejarah yang ada, gedung balai kota lama ini dulu dikenal dengan Gemeentehuis yang dibangun pada tahun 1908 dengan hasil rancangan Biro Arsitek Hulswit.

Now serving as a museum in Medan, it offers a glimpse into the history and culture of the region. The palace showcases Islamic, traditional Malay, and European design elements. While parts are open to the public, it still serves as a residence for the Sultan's family.

Before entering the palace, we must remove our shoes/sandals. There are many areas blocked in the palace, probably those areas are not maintained. The only place we can get in is the living hall, the throne room and waiting guests area. Not the bedrooms and others. There's nothing much to see, and people are selling souvenirs in the palace which I personally don't think is appropriate. Many people are hanging around the area of Istana, like a park. The carpark area is not well maintained, many big holes on the road and I paid RP 7k. As a foreigner, I would say just take photos from outside.

The architecture is absolutely stunning — a mix of Malay, Islamic, Indian, and European styles that create a very unique atmosphere. The yellow color of the building makes it shine brightly under the sun and gives a royal feeling the moment you arrive. Inside, the palace is filled with antique furniture, old photographs, and decorations from the Deli Sultanate period. It really feels like stepping back in time. You can even rent traditional royal costumes and take beautiful photos — such a fun experience for both locals and tourists! The staff were friendly and polite, and they helped explain some parts of the history behind the palace. The environment is peaceful, clean, and perfect for walking around slowly while admiring the details of the building. It’s easy to reach by Grab or taxi, and the entrance fee is affordable. The palace also has a small souvenir shop where you can buy local crafts. If you love history, culture, and beautiful architecture, I highly recommend visiting Maimun Palace. It’s not just a tourist spot — it’s a piece of Medan’s soul and heritage. Definitely worth a visit and a few great photos! 📸✨

There's a guide at the main entrance if you request for one so that they can tell you the history of this palace. There's also people who sells tshirt, hats, souvenirs inside the palace. They are also part or a distant relatives of the Sultan's family and descendant. Around the palace vicinity, there's also a number of shops selling drinks and food. Pos Bloc Medan is a heritage preserved and reimagined. Set inside the beautifully restored former Medan Post Office (est. 1911), this colonial-era building still wears its heritage proudly—but now it’s buzzing with art, food, and local culture. The charm lies in the mix of vintage floor tiles beneath your feet, modern cafes, local food, snack bites and more. Theres a mini postal museum area, where they’ve preserved old postal equipment—typewriters, telegraphs, and scales—all tagged with QR codes that link to their stories. It’s an interactive walk through history, right in the middle of a lifestyle space. You can print your own customized stamps too — which is an unexpectedly fun souvenir rooted in the place’s legacy. The central courtyard is a vibe, often with live music or weekend events. The upper floor is occupied by a fine cafe TEMU which also offer 2 private rooms if you’re looking to have a close knit with friends and family or even meetings. Explorer Tip: Swing by in the late afternoon when the natural light hits just right—and definitely take time to scan a few QR codes.

Once the proud postal heart of Medan, now rebranded as a hipster playground where history meets overpriced lattes. The grand colonial bones still whisper of telegrams and lost love letters, while inside, local youths Instagram their avocado toast under fluorescent art installations. The vibe? A museum curated by a graphic designer who once read a history book. Bonus points for the antique mailbox that hasn’t been emptied since 1983. Best enjoyed with a side of existential dread and a flat white.

Merhaba Travelers I hope you're doing well For this time I'll review Pos Bloc Wait, come again? What kind of this place is? Well, this place was Pos Office (place for delivery some letters or packages) before but now it has changed into Museum. Yarps, you can see history of Pos in Indonesia, things they used to post and deliver some things such as, old bicycle, telephone, stamps, printing machine, measurement tools and many more. Not only museum, but also you can eat some foods and drink some beverages here. There are many cafe inside and you can choose wherever you want to eat. They sell some souvenirs as well. And if you want to hold some events, you can hold it here. Just contact them for further information Last week, I came here to see Paintings Fair which held by college students. It's free for entry and you just spend your money for eating and drinking. Oke, that's all about Pos Bloc Let's visit it!

Margaret N — Google review
It was a nice idea to repurpose old post office to a new trendy eateries and art hub while preserving the classic historical Dutch colonial structure. There is a small post office museum where you can have a bit of the history lesson Also you still can do some basic post office transaction here. There are still renovations going on and hopefully more vendors/tenants in the future.

Titi Gantung is the historical landmark of Medan city. It is a bridge that connects the Jalan Stasiun Kereta Api and Jalan Jawa, located on the top of the railway of Medan City station. It is located at the heart of the city, next to Merdeka Square. This bridge was built in the year of 1885. It was still stood firm at its original location. It could be a place for photo taking but not so interesting. Maintainance was just okay. Some parts was used now for motorbike parking. No entrance fee to enter this bridge.
