Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat, established in 1744, stands as a magnificent testament to Javanese history and culture. Once the heart of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom, this royal palace offers visitors an immersive journey through time. The complex features various sections like Alun Alun Lor and Sasana Sumewa, where you can explore museums filled with captivating artifacts such as sculptures and traditional costumes.
One of the relics of the ancient kingdom in Surakarta. Still well maintained. The addition of guards or courtiers in full dress makes it more instagramable. Unfortunately I couldn't see inside, so I don't know what the actual condition of the palace is.
Budi R — Google review
I am sorry Solo but this is the worst ever. I had high expectations visiting the place but you let me down. Admission cost of IDR 35k is too high with what I have been experiencing; I felt being robbed. Guide was provided however you need to join with the others; I thought the guide was for myself only. The museum section is so old and feels like it is not being well maintained. The other area for explore is kind of garden surrounded by the “pendopo”. That’s it. No more exploration area. I prefer Jogja than Solo; visiting Keraton wise.
Richard T — Google review
Solo Keraton is still in an active palace in Solo, the King and Queen still live in this place, but tourist can go only visit some parts of the palace which is the backyard. If you are willing to visit, better bring fan, umbrella, sunscreen and use shoes. Don’t use sandal, because they will ask you to take off and walk barefoot inside the keraton.
Novita W — Google review
The official Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace residence of the Kasunanan Surakarta located in the heart of Solo City, blends traditional Javanese architecture with subtle European touches. Inside, a museum displays royal heirlooms, golden chariots, traditional attire, and historical collections from past kings. Stepping into the palace grounds, you are immediately greeted by a serene and sacred atmosphere. Friendly guides share stories from each room, making the visit more meaningful. The collection is impressive, although certain parts of the building could use more maintenance. Visitors are expected to dress modestly and follow the rules, such as refraining from entering restricted areas or taking photos in prohibited spots. The soft sound of gamelan music and the lingering scent of aged wood in every corner add to the magical charm. Despite minor shortcomings, the historical value and unique atmosphere make the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace well worth visiting—especially for history and culture enthusiasts who wish to experience the living heritage of a Javanese kingdom firsthand.
Navisya D — Google review
If you'd like to learn more about the history of Surakarta (Solo) during the kingdom period, I recommend visiting this Royal Palace (Keraton). They provide a guided tour experience where you'll be able to see the Palace's Courtyard, Museum, and Event Hall. The Palace has many more inner areas however it's restricted for tourists; mostly those are the private residences of the Royal Family Members. If you're wearing sandals, you need to take them off and explore the Palace Yard barefoot, but shoes are allowed (not sure the thought process behind it). Sarong is provided for those who are wearing shorts or skirts to cover up. Tickets: IDR 35k for locals, IDR 60k for foreigners, and additional IDR 50k if you bring a professional camera. Open from 09 AM - 3 PM daily.
Suciani A — Google review
the place is nice for solitude time, its quite. just sit under the tree would relax ur muscle. they offer water from their well and give it free, bring ur tumbler! the guide would give u alot of information. nice place for for grounding on their yard (they use beach sand)
Movi R — Google review
This was a big disappointment compared to Pura Mangkunagaran: a guide who rushed us through the place, with little knowledge about this palace except what the travel guide told us already before we arrived. Hefty price for the entry (50k/person) - cash only!
Ralf K — Google review
This palace is such a beautiful one, as you can see they don't even change a thing of the building and it's still traditional also beautiful ✨ you can really feel different energy here where it's very positive and calming one, especially when you're going inside the Keraton area with all the trees around. The museum also look super traditional and our tour guide was super smart and friendly, he explained everything clearly and not boring at all✨

Museum Radya Pustaka is a charming 19th-century history museum that houses an impressive collection of historic artifacts and scrolls, showcasing weapons, textiles, manuscripts, sculpture, and currency. It is renowned for its heritage from the Mataram Kingdom and features notable items such as porcelain gifted by Napoleon Bonaparte to Paku Buwono IV, king of Surakarta kingdom.
Radya Pustaka Museum in Surakarta boasts a rich and comprehensive collection, offering a deep dive into Javanese history and culture. It provides a valuable educational experience for those interested in local heritage. However, the museum's maintenance could be improved, as some rooms feel damp and have a musty smell, which slightly diminishes the overall comfort for visitors. Despite this, the museum's impressive collection and educational value make it a worthwhile visit. Enhancing the maintenance of the facilities would further improve the experience for all visitors.

This museum has abundant number of collection. It is considered as one of the oldest museum in Indonesia which contains collections ranging from Javanese manuscripts to ancient Javanese statues. Many of the collection are a really valuable artifacts which important to the history of culture of Java or Indonesia as a whole. My favorite will be the sleeping Vishnu statue (Vishnu Anantasayana). The collections of wayang, and the bowsprit of Kasunanan Surakarta ships/boat. It is a shame that this museum are not well manage and the presentation is cannot exhibit the collections well. Many of the collections are also already stolen. Especially the collections from old Javanese era. At least the manuscripts are preserved well in a room with air conditioner. It would be great if there's a reform in the management.

Awesome museum housing the royal collection of one of the Kasunanan court, primarily assembled under Pakubuwono X in the early 20th cent. Interesting insight into Javanese court culture, including many puppets, instruments, daggers, pottery, furniture and even two gifts from Napoleon. There's also a large section of stone statuary from the Hindu-Buddhist era. Honestly more interesting than the Kraton itself. It's housed in a converted early 20th cent Dutch residence. Clean bathrooms and free drinking water. Entry is 20k for foreigners.

Very informative, history rich Indonesia's history since colonialism from hat, keris, mask, paper money, statue collections and many more. Cheap ticket

This museum is not far from the city, from the entrance we have to write a guest book and we are not in kenai charge a dime, in the room we have been shown video about surakarta and its surroundings, there is a variety of ancient relics we need to know as local and international tourists, we can listen to gending- gending Java from the video, and we are free to photograph there, but we are not allowed to hold the ancient relics, although it is arranged neatly but there is still some dust still stuck around, first time come it was nice, the guard is very friendly

Really a good museum. I learn so many things, from cultural, history, also looking at the collections. Thank you Batik Danar Hadi! Ticket is 45k for adults. The tour last for around 40’ and end with watching some women making batik. Cannot take pic, only at the workshop and last room.

Batik Danar Hadi Museum in Surakarta is a fantastic destination for anyone interested in the rich tradition of Indonesian batik. The museum showcases an impressive collection of batik from various regions across the country, with pieces that span centuries of craftsmanship. The exhibits offer a deep dive into the history, techniques, and cultural significance of batik, making it both educational and visually captivating. The museum is well-maintained, with detailed explanations for each display, and visitors can also enjoy watching batik-making demonstrations. It’s a must-visit for art lovers and those keen to learn more about one of Indonesia’s most iconic cultural traditions.

One of the best museum trip I ever had. Very nice and clean place. Very neat arrangements although some exhibit lacked written information. But the tour guide was really patient and meticulously explain each and every details of the 11 sections of the batik museum. He really knows and understands and can explain very well almost each batik piece. No photos allowed by their house rules for company discreet reasons. But 2 hours trip around the whole museum with that ticket price (IDR 45.000,- per person already includes tour guide service) was really worth it. Kudos once again to Danar Hadi Solo team.
Nathanael I — Google review
If you really want to know how and what batik is about, then please visit this museum. In a guided tour of an hour you get to see the finest batik in the world. You get to see the finest and the most exclusive and rarest pieces. All presented in 11 rooms, very nicely and appropriately presented. The guide was very knowledgeable and did not push you to buy anything. You also get to see how the wax is applied to the fabric in real time by highly experienced women. And this is only a small, yet important part of the whole, long process. The shop is next door and also worth a visit. This your chance to be sure of what you are buying is real. Often the batik is stamped, but just as often, it is a mix of stamping and hand-applied waxing (which really drives up the price). But the price range has something for everyone. Go enjoy. You don't have to buy anything if you don't want to.
Freddy B — Google review
An amazing batik experience, you get to see how it's evolved over the years and how each region makes their own. Unfortunately no photo taking in the main museum area, but the workshop area is okay! Our guide Gigim was amazing, knowledgable and really hilarious!

One of the must-visit places while you’re in Surakarta! I’m Indonesian, born and raised. Do I know Batik? Of course! Do I know its history and how it’s made? Not a clue (I do have a clue but not that much, lol) Well, this place offers exactly that knowledge, along with lots and lots of beautiful private collections that are decades old. In the museum, you’ll be guided by a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. I was traveling alone and happened to be the only visitor at the time, and I was lucky to be guided by Mba Mutiara, she felt more like a friend. She answered every question and even responded to my endless fascination with more fun facts, which made my experience even more enjoyable and unforgettable. Terima kasih Mba Mutia ^^ I highly recommend visiting the House of Danar Hadi if you want to learn more about one of Indonesia’s greatest heritages that is Batik. I really enjoyed my visit, and I hope you will too ^^

I visited this museum because I was interested in learning about batik making, but ended up learning so much more about batik's history, cultural significance and even batik politics! Photos and videos not allowed for the private collection, but you can take photos/videos of the batik making process. The tour was informative and entertaining. Terima kasih, Gigih! Best guide EVER!

Solo Paragon Lifestyle Mall is a bustling urban destination that offers a wide range of shopping options, dining experiences, and entertainment. Situated in the heart of Surakarta, this expansive mall features a Carrefour supermarket, ACE Hardware store, Apple Store, Starbucks, and upscale clothing boutiques. The Centro department store houses various fashion and cosmetic brands.
The mall is quite large and filled with a variety of tenants, from fashion and shoes to technology, food court, working space, and groceries. I was able to find most of what I needed in one visit. Facilities seemed complete, although I haven’t had the chance to try the prayer room yet. Getting in was easy, and the road in front of the mall wasn’t too congested even on the weekend.
Another R — Google review
Busier than other malls, probably because its place right in the city center. It’s a convenient place to shop, eat, and hang out, but the road in front can get pretty crowded, especially during rush hours.
Dip — Google review
One of the malls frequented by the people of Solo. The location is in Kottabarat. Next to Paragon Hotel. Well maintained, clean hotel. Tenants are quite a lot and complete, ranging from fashion, electronics, sports equipment to household needs. The food court is complete with various kinds of tenants serving food, drinks and snacks. There is Cinema XXI. Comfortable toilets and prayer rooms are available for worship. In my opinion, this mall is friendly for children. Parking is actually quite large, but on weekends it's mostly full. Parking gates use cash and non-cash
Stevalna — Google review
Busy and buzzing with activity. Top brands have their stores. More entertainment options. It's definitely a shopping delight. Food court could do with more dining options, and better air conditioning will make the experience better in the food court.

Balekambang Park, also known as Taman Balekambang, is a picturesque public park in Solo city that offers a refreshing escape with its lush greenery. It's a popular spot for pre-wedding photoshoots and features an open amphitheater for events and plays. Visitors can interact with various animals like deer, turkey, swans, and monkeys while enjoying the playgrounds scattered throughout the park.
A lovely spot for outdoor fun in Solo! Taman Balekambang is a great place to enjoy nature and spend quality time outdoors. You can have a picnic, walk around, or just relax and enjoy the scenery, perfect for a chill day with family or friends. When I visited, I was really looking forward to trying the electric scooters, but unfortunately, they were out of battery. A bit disappointing, but definitely not a deal-breaker. I’ll definitely be back soon to enjoy a full day there, hopefully with a scooter ride next time!
Fitria A — Google review
The renovation was finished last year, and now people can enjoy walking through the park. Some events are held within the park occasionally, with cheap tickets. The parking area is also vast and comfortable. The air is not that cool, but it is still recommended for a family outing on the weekend.
Annida U — Google review
Free entry, but sadly, as any other public park in indonesia, the place need more maintenance, but it's good enough as city park. The playground is adequate, the deer is chill, the swan (I think) sometimes go near people. I recommend to bring some sort of mat to sit on when you plan to picnic here because there are lot of deer poop on the grass.

Taman bale kambang is the one of my bucket list to visit while i'm in solo . It was looked different now after the goverment rearranged this place . Now look so wide , fresh with big trees, some public facilities and more interesting than the old version. From the main gate you need to buy the entrance ticket and pay the parking ticket too, the area of parking is wide too. We need to walk around to enjoy this place , or just rent the electric bike . We can found the outdoor and indoor theater too. We can buy drink or food from the food stand inside the park . We also can enjoy the dancing fountain. Besides that some people can enjoy their picnic in this place too. Everthing was set up good .

the park looks nice and clean now, well maintained and perfect for a picnic. really suitable for families. closes at 5 pm, and there are some street food vendors inside. let’s all do our part to keep it clean, please don’t litter 🤩

After the big renovation, it's amazing. The atmosphere is good. But maintenance? very questionable. Why does this place had some spots that not renovated yet? so many mosquitos are following me after visiting those spots (and more worse, it's aedes aegypti). Why are some of the toilet sinks not working? Why does the mushola's air conditioner turned on but the door were never closed? Why does some design paint is peeling? Why does this place is not having a good maintenance? The great design, atmosphere, is not followed by its bad maintenance. And check this one out please, rate it urself... and to the right from my video, there's a pond that... uhh, search it urself bruv, I'm done roasting this place up😭☝🏾.

Found this place recommended by so many people, I thought it was just a common garden. Turns out, its a lovely place to spend with loved one, friends even family! There, you can play with deer, turkey, swan even monkey! Try to buy carrot for 5K and you can feed the deer! Its a one the experience you should try tho Another thing is, there is playground for kids everywhere! Feeling tired? Get some snack, meals and drinks from the streets nearby and take it into the garden! Such an experience..

The annual Solo Batik Carnival is held here, featuring avant-garde displays of the local tradition. Additionally, there are weekly traditional puppet shows to enjoy in the comfortable indoor venue with AC and no smoking allowed.
Indonesians call it "wayang orang" The story is about pewayangan, im not fully understand, but im javanese so i could still enjoy the story. It's so funny when punakawan appear in the stage. The audiences are giggling because of their jokes. Im really satisfying with the show. Sooo funny. I will revisit this place if i could.

This was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. The wayang orang performance was mesmerizing, and the story was both entertaining and educational. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Surakarta. Tickets: The price is very reasonable, even more than what we expected. Performance: I loved it. It was really exciting. All the actors were very professional, funny, and the story was very interesting. The duration of the show was also very long, so it felt like the ticket price was too cheap for such an amazing experience.

i love it! i love seeing people with degrees actually living with their expertise. i must say that wayang stories have parallel premises, but you can still enjoy the beauty of their choreography and some funny scenes the actors play, also how the fine artists work with the background for every scene, and the traditional music that accompanied the whole play. truly a highly recommended destination if you go on vacation to Solo city. the play started at 8 pm. check their instagram for more information.

Visited this place to watch the human puppet (wayang orang) show. Show started around 8pm and lasted for about 2.5 hours. It only costs 20k per show (for locals) and we can buy the ticket on the spot. The ticket selling starts around 7pm. It has different stories everyday and you can check them out on its instagram page. If you're visiting Solo, and looking for historical activity, I suggest you to come here and enjoy the show😉

It's a bit hot because it is open and wide park, it's also 'gersang' because of the lack of trees, the deer are nice, and if you want to feed them just buy the vegetable booth near the deer's assembly (10k rupiahs for two packs of vegetables), no entrance fee anyway

Fortress
Museum
Fort Vastenburg is a historic 1700s Dutch colonial fort located in Surakarta, known for its unique square shape with four bastions at each corner. Despite its rich history, the fort has suffered from neglect and abandonment due to ownership disputes. Visitors can explore the area and learn about its intriguing past. The surroundings offer culinary delights such as Soto Kwali at Galabo and refreshing Avocado Juice.
A beautiful fort with a unique star design with a rich history behind it. A bit sad since the front side of the fort is full of trash and full of ugly buildings that don't fit with the fort. The left side is beautiful, only it was filled with cars and become a parking lot :(. The back side of the fort is also very beautiful, it was filled with large majestic trees (although the access road to the rear is very small, I was even warned that there are a lot of snakes around there). The right side of the fort is inaccessible because it's covered by warungs :(. The inside of the fort is closed from the front and back, only I saw there were motorbikes and people playing in it. I just hope that the place is not changed again and turned ugly, i was happy that the fort is not vandalized.

If you happen to pass by or in the area, it's a good historical site to visit and add in your itinerary. However like any historical site in the country, it wasn't really well maintained. Hence, I wouldn't recommend making a dedicated trip just to visit the fort. Make it as an add-on when you visit the Royal Palace (Keraton) complex.
Suciani A — Google review
It’s lucky that there was an event when I came here, so the gate was open and I could see the inside. I could also enter freely although I wasn’t a participant for the event 😆. It looked cool from outside, but in the inside, well.. it’s boring, LOL. But, I guess what else could you expect from just a fort..
Jer M — Google review
Fort Vastenburg offers little to explore – it's essentially an old fort, a notable landmark from the Dutch colonial era in Surakarta. The interior is mostly empty, so there isn't much to see inside. However, you can snap a few photos in front of it. If you're interested in history, it's worth a quick stop, but don't expect extensive attractions.

aged by time, barely survive from generations and scandal. An colonial-age building which has been a testament to many history of the surakatans. Since i was a child, never i have seen the building in such intended glory. During my yearly visit to my grandmother house, i have always wondered what lies beyond the grass field hidden from the view surrounded by tin fences. It always looks so dreadful, abandoned and grave. It has changed since the government has claimed it as a public place and protected by law as cultural preservation. Slowly renovation shed the building from its rust. And now place it into something that people keeps in their hearts. the

Please note. You can't go inside except if there's event. Even if you can go inside, there's nothing, only vast field.

After the renovation of fortress' west side, the place became interesting and cool! Various events often be held in this place. Great for taking photo.

What's the story'? History? You can read it at any file by internet or books. Today i enjoy 'Soto Kwali at Galabo culinarry' with Advocado Juice and a mineral water. The employee are very nice, she slowly talk to me and remind me of a friend. After it, i walk through 'Trotoar' to reach Vastenburgh Castle. Then, i enjoy 'Dawet Ayu' Ice Made by Mr. Warno or Parno (i don't know how to spell it). He have a 'Gerobak' to sell His Ice. The taste of 'Dawet Ayu' are sweet and a little salty in the end. If someone see all this, you should try this one. And i forgot to tell that Mr. Warno always moving from some place into another. He told me the story' of the Castle, civil society, politics, some land problem, and of course He told me about tourism. Yeaaah... Hopefully all tourism can be open like old Times. The 'Pandemi' made all things down. He want anything could be happened like as usual. Live life normally.. i guess you can try buy something here. Food, drinks or anything and so the economy can be up and shiny (He told me that). That's it for today. May you can enjoy this City, The City of the Kings, Surakarta, Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. Masjid Raya Sheikh Zayed Solo Surakarta is a stunning replica of the iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Visitors are impressed by its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and tight security measures at the entrance. To enter, women are required to wear headscarves and everyone must adhere to certain rules such as no outside food allowed inside.

A majestic and serene place in the heart of Solo. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is not only a stunning piece of architecture but also a peaceful space for reflection. The white marble, elegant domes, and detailed ornamentation are truly impressive—reminiscent of its sister mosque in Abu Dhabi. It’s clean, well-organized, and open to both worshippers and tourists. Perfect to visit during golden hour when the sunlight adds a warm glow to the white structure. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with helpful staff ready to guide you. A must-visit if you’re in Solo, whether you’re interested in culture, photography, or just need a quiet moment to unwind.

I visited the mosque and I was truly amazed by its beauty. The architecture looks international, and the mosque attracts many visitors. From what I know, this mosque was a gift from a Sheikh to President Jokowi. The place is peaceful, clean, and well-managed, making it a wonderful destination to visit.

Visited Syeikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo, a stunning and relatively new mosque, or you can call it also a landmark, as part of a monumental gift by the UAE to Indonesia. It beautifully blends Middle Eastern and Moroccan architectural styles with uniquely Indonesian touches—like floors adorned with intricate kawung batik motifs, which creates a striking symbol of friendship and shared values between the two nations. The scale and design of the mosque are truly impressive and immersive. Walking through its grand halls and peaceful courtyards felt very inspiring, offering both spiritual calm and architectural wonder. Overall, it was quite a memorable experience. A magnificent space that celebrates unity, culture, and faith in a powerful and immersive way.

Incredible architecture. I'm not super religious myself but my tour stops here today. I joined the Maghrib prayer and I can only describe the experience as heavenly. I don't know if the sound design is a part of the architectural design process but it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Eid Fitr day-4, it was super duper crowded, fully packed with visitors from outskirts and other cities. Management really needs to strictly separate man and woman both in entrance and outdoor spaces. Currently, it seems very unorganized. Overall, facade is very cool but not the crowd control.

Mangkunegaran Palace, a royal abode since 1757, is partly open to the public for displaying historical artifacts. Unlike other fortresses surrounded by thick walls, this palace stands out with its visible location. A fee of 20k rupiahs per person is charged for entering both the museum and the palace, which is administered as Kadipaten instead of Kasultanan/Kasunanan making it comparatively smaller than Yogyakarta Palace.
It's a very nice tourist destination. You are required to get a tourist guide, they will assign them to you before getting in. How much you pay the guide is up to you. The guides are very nice and professional, definitely a recommend. They guides really helps to understand and admire the whole place, culture, and history of it. Notes: you cannot wear short pants or skirt, if you do, they provide jarik (batik cloth) to cover them. We went there on weekday so it's not too crowded. It's better to just get the tickets on the spot.

It did not feel like you visited a traditional Javanese palace; instead, it was full of mixed modern (western) vibes due to the acculturation of the culture over the years. The service provides you with a guide who is quite informative. What you see within the palace is pretty enough. Interesting place for sure, but not much to see.
Annida U — Google review
The architecture is stunning—rich with traditional Javanese design and historical significance. Walking through the palace complex feels like stepping back in time, with beautifully preserved buildings, intricate carvings, and fascinating artifacts. The guided tour provides great insight into the history of the Mangkunegaran royal family and Javanese heritage. It’s a peaceful, elegant place that offers a deeper understanding of Indonesia’s cultural roots. Highly recommended for history lovers and anyone visiting Solo!

I really love the palace, we call it Pura. Good vibes, but I can't sit longer because we have to follow the guide. It will be good if we can stay longer at the garden or around Pura. I love sitting and looking around the place while visiting new places.

i think it’s the best way to do tour with a guide. there are really fascinating and interesting information about the royal family. if you don’t already know, you can also attend 1 suro event (check the calendar) by coming at 9pm with black batik top (do not wear velvet nor parang motif), it’d be an interesting experience. the royal family is still living inside the residence so privacy and manners is expected when we visit.

A must visit landmark in Solo. Pura Mangkunegaran is a beautiful royal palace with stunning Javanese architecture, rich history, and impressive collections of heirlooms, batik, and gamelan. Easy to access in the city center, with guided tours are available in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, ensuring that guests can understand the rich history behind each artifact and building. There are also cultural performances held occasionally, including classical Javanese dance and gamelan music, making the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended as one of the must-visit landmarks in Solo, Central Java.
Ade K — Google review
Visited Pura Mangkunegaran, a royal palace located in the heart of Surakarta (Solo), Central Java. This historic site is home to the Adipati Mangkunegara—a Javanese princely house established during the Dutch colonial era. The visit was a rich and immersive experience. We were guided by knowledgeable official staff who took us through different sections of the palace, sharing fascinating stories, historical context, and cultural meanings behind the architecture and royal traditions. Their insights really helped us appreciate how the Mangkunegaran lineage and its role have evolved over time. All in all, it was a meaningful and fun visit—deep in history, full of charm, and sprinkled with a touch of modern-day royal intrigue. Definitely worth adding to your Solo itinerary! **Fun fact: the current Adipati (or the prince) is relatively young—and according to some locals and online chatter, quite good-looking too. So if you’re single woman, who knows? You might just be in the right place at the right time 😄 haha

Nice place to visit. We can learn a lot of Keris’s history here. They have the best tour guide, will be good to ask them to give explanation on your trip. And the most interesting, with only Rp 10.000 you can get it.

There's a lot of variety of Keris to see and it's a delightful trip. They're also quite informative but it can be improved. For local, they provide guide to bring you tour around. On the four floor, for foreign tourists, the museum prepares a video in English to introduce about Keris. Overall I recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a visit!

Located in startegic area behind Sriwedari Stadium, the entrance fee is only 10k IDR (no guide). You can see the collection of Keris (Javanese traditional weapon), looking the relief in the body of the keris and the meaning also looking step of making and rituals needed to make it. There is also mini library (but the lamp was turned off when I was there).

+: for ticket you just pay for 10k, with cash or cashless. With 10k you get a cold and good museum. The collection is comprehensive. Smell good because of because of flower and “dupa” stick look like a “sajen”. -: museum start dr second floor ‘till fifth, you can choose between lift or stairs, I choose stairs. For stairs look like, a little bit dirty, with some dust. Maybe you should recheck it. Every restrooms in this building are under maintenance. I can not find any employees in second until fifth floor, they are only at first floor for ticketing. And the situation of museum is so quiet, rarely people, and i feel like a little bit scared inside.

The artwork is displayed in an opulent mansion and visitors are required to pre-register on their website before being guided through the collections by staff members. Due to the pandemic, visiting hours are limited. The museum boasts remarkable collections of both art and antiques, each with its own unique story.
The collection is interesting, visitors are given one hour to explore the museum. Although not too big, but it seems that one hour is not enough to be able to enjoy all the art collections here. Tickets can be ordered online at trvlk at a very affordable price. Very worth it and recommended!

One of the best art collections I’ve seen in a while!!! Would recommend this museum to everyone 😊😊 I think this is a great intro to modern art, since there was a variety of techniques and art styles represented. Some pieces were technically very strong, whereas others had a really strong message. I especially appreciated the emphasis on Indonesian artists, such a nice way to learn a little bit about what moves people in Indonesia (but igs especially in Java). Even saw lots of people taking pictures in the museum. I would say there are definitely some “instagramable” spots here so still worth it even if you’re not very much into art.

When I came to this exhibition I was very impressed with the variety of artworks, this can increase knowledge about a work of art. The place is clean and comfortable.
