Spiaggia de La Sciumara is a stunning beach located in Palau, Sardinia. With its clear waters and sandy shore, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and even La Maddalena Island in the distance. This nearly 500-meter-long beach faces north and is a popular spot for visitors seeking natural beauty and tranquility.
Spiaggia de La Sciumara is very nice! You can rent umbrellas with chairs at a good price. There’s parking, it’s easy to get to, and the water is amazing! The day we went was breezy, so the water was a bit cold, but still so worth it. The sea was flat!!

Lovely beach but crowded nearer the bar/kiosk. Don't hesitate to walk after the windsurf zone. Water is clear and ideal for children. Kiosk serves hot food, drinks etc... Parking €1,50 / hour
Antoine B — Google review
Great beach, spent a few days here during my time in the area. Beach bar is great to have access too. You can rent windsurfs, sunbeds and paddle boards. Some great boats also come in and out which is great to watch.
Reece F — Google review
💰‼️ umbrellas for rent €50/€60 The most beautiful beach close to Palau, just 20 minutes by foot, or less of 10 minutes by car. Taxi from Palau Port €10. Crystal water and soft small waves. Little bar with fair prices for eat and drink.

Lovely beach. Thick sand gives a great massage to the feet when walking. Extremely clean. Very few people in the second half of sept. There is an excellent windsurfing rental n school run by Claudio.

Public beach
Spiaggia di Palau Vecchio is a small, secluded beach located on the outskirts of Palau, offering stunning views of the Maddalena Archipelago. It features some concrete areas for sunbathing and easy access to the water. The beach provides a wonderful view of Maddalena and has plenty of natural shade. Despite its small size, it offers a calm atmosphere and clean water, making it a great place for relaxation or family walks.
It's so beautiful !
Marta S — Google review
Beautiful views from the beach. Get there early to get free parking. The sand is quite coarse and not pleasant to walk on. The snack bar is very expensive.
Mary S — Google review
Tiny beach with some concrete areas where you can either have your sunbath or jump into the water. Probably no the best turquoise water in the island as all ferries to Maddalena islands pass by in front of it, but still very fun for the kids. Pretty small too and not easy to park as it is next to the harbour. Still, totally recommended if you are in the area.
Marc L — Google review
We was having a morning run there, was best place to do it, because there was nice shadow from the trees around, you can see the Maddalena in the other side. After the run or walk you can just jump in the sea! There is a beautiful light house in the end too!
Ieva L — Google review

Spiaggia Testa del Polpo, also known as Capocchia du purpu in Sardinian, is a hidden gem located on the island of Giardinelli, just a stone's throw from La Maddalena. This stunning beach features rocky coves and several compact sandy stretches that invite visitors to dive into its crystal-clear waters for swimming and snorkeling adventures.
Very nice beach!! The colors are spectacular The access by car is pretty hard but if you have a suv then it’s fine, you can go close to the beach. We left our car at the end of the road and just walked for around 15 min. We were in a cloudy day and it was amazing, i just try to imagine how is in a sunny day 🙈 This place is a must if you’re on the island!!
Andrei B — Google review
The best beach we have been to in Sardinia, really worth the visit, beware of parking spaces during peak season. Definitely a must.
On P — Google review
We recently had the pleasure of visiting Spiaggia Testa del Polpo, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We started our adventure by taking a ferry to the location and then embarked on a scenic walk to the beach. The views along the way were absolutely breathtaking, with stunning landscapes that left us in awe. Once we arrived at the beach, we were greeted by crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The vibrant marine life added an extra layer of magic to our experience in the water. The beach itself was a hidden gem, providing a peaceful atmosphere where we could relax and soak up the sun. One of the highlights of our visit was the sunset. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, was nothing short of spectacular. It was a perfect way to end a day filled with adventure. Overall, the hike to Spiaggia Testa del Polpo is one of the most beautiful walks we have ever done. The combination of stunning views, swimming, snorkeling, and a picturesque sunset made for a fantastic day. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area!
Brian C — Google review
The "Octopus" beach is known for its fine, light-colored sand, but in my opinion, it's a bit overrated. Arriving by sea, you can admire a cove with spectacular and unforgettable colors. Unfortunately, once on land, the beach turns out to be small, damp, and full of seaweed, as well as garbage. I recommend exploring the smaller coves to the right just before reaching the main beach. If you really want to see it, maybe just for a photo, I suggest leaving your car after the stadium and taking a pleasant 15-minute walk.
Marco D — Google review
Beautiful magic place, crystal clear water, like in carribean, but lots of people. Later also many boats are coming.
Monika H — Google review
One of our favourite beaches! Crystal clear waters and full of little coves and opportunities to enjoy the beach! Beware that the vehicular road to get there is full of pointy rocks and dangerous for car tyres…. We recommend parking 10 mins away and walking.
YX M — Google review
Beautiful beach, but very crowded. Finding a free spot in the sand for a towel can be difficult.
Alex — Google review
Amazing place to visit, weather was not the best at that time off our visit but still OK for snorkeling.

Outdoor Activities
Cala Corsara, located on Spargi Island in the Maddalena Archipelago, is a secluded cove beach surrounded by rocky hills and offering stunning turquoise waters that are perfect for diving and snorkeling. Accessible only by boat, this beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the area. The whole island is characterized by crystal-clear turquoise seas and dunes where wild lilies, juniper, and other Mediterranean plants grow freely.
Beautiful quiet beach tucked away but still easy to get to by boat or via a tour. A must see on your visit to Sardinia!
Gary D — Google review
If you did not take a boat here and bask in the Sardinia sun and swim in the turquoise water, your trip is wasted. This is just 1 of the many breathtaking spots of the La Magdalena experience that just simply takes your breadth away.
Jeremy C — Google review
Beatiful beach in the Spargi island in the Maddalena Arcipelago. Absolutely must see if you want to ses the island’s real beauty. You can rent a boat or buď a ticket for a guided excursion at the port of Palau, Baja Sardinia, Cannigione and others. If you are lucky enough you can park your own yacht there :)
Kamila Č — Google review
One of the most beautiful bays we have visited. Although it is a shared experience with maaaany other tourists ;) the water is beautiful and shallow. Sandy beach that comes with chances to be visited by boars 🐗
Michael — Google review
Beautiful beaches with shallow waters, if you have the energy it's worth scrambling I've the rock to explore all the beaches.
Saturated F — Google review
Beautiful natural beach, you can reach it by boat/boat tour, watch out for the wild pig roaming the beach sometimes, it is quite bold and walks around the crowds of people, it won't attack unless provoked, just don't bring food or contain it well. The information staff try to keep the pig out of the place. There's not much shade, bring your own umbrella if possible if you plan to stay longer. Usually a lot of people, they come with tour boats.

Public beach
Nestled on the southwestern side of La Maddalena, Spiaggia di Punta Tegge is a captivating beach that boasts a stunning landscape framed by granite cliffs. The golden sands and uniquely shaped rocks, sculpted by the gentle caress of wind and waves, create an inviting atmosphere for visitors. While it can get busy due to its accessibility by car or bus, there are ample spaces to find your own little slice of paradise amidst the crowds.
Spiaggia di Punta Tegge is a hidden gem near the port of La Maddalena, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot to relax, especially if you’re looking for a last stop before heading back. The scenery is breathtaking, with clear waters and picturesque rocky surroundings. Although the bar was closed when I visited in October, it didn’t take away from the beauty of the location. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy nature and tranquility.
Malgosya W — Google review
I've seen most of the best calas and beaches around the whole of Sardinia and Maddalena, this corner of paradise is among my favourite ones. Incredible scenery and wonderful colours with all the shades of blue you want for the gram, gorgeous boulders to climb and to jump from, with plenty of space for everyone to lie down like a pomodoro drying in the sun. There is also free parking with enough space to park even in August AND a fantastic restaurant which had great service, delicious fresh seafood with tasty wine pairing AND (I know, it doesn't stop) an amazing sunset spot right behind where you can take your drinks and enjoy... What else would you wish for? Activities? You can rent kayaks and arrange diving... So it must be super remote? Not even, ten minutes drive from town. FAN-TASTICO!
Emilien D — Google review
Sardinia is not for the faint of heart. This rugged island demands more than just admiration—it requires respect, a willingness to slow down, and an openness to its untamed beauty. It’s a place that calls to those who seek the wild corners of the world, where the Mediterranean's blue bleeds into the sky, and time seems to bend under the heat of the sun. Among Sardinia's many treasures, there’s a slice of paradise called Spiaggia di Punta Tegge. Punta Tegge doesn’t shout its virtues from the rooftops. You won’t find it in the glossies, with tourists elbowing for the perfect Instagram shot. No, Punta Tegge is quieter, more introspective, the kind of beach that reveals itself slowly, like a secret shared between friends. The water here is the kind of crystalline blue that defies description, as if Poseidon himself had handpicked this spot to showcase what the Mediterranean should look like at its best. It’s the sort of clarity that makes you want to dive in headfirst, even if you’re the type who usually prefers dry land. Granite rocks, smoothed by centuries of wind and sea, frame the cove, giving it a raw, unpolished beauty. There’s a café here—Zi Anto—perched right by the water’s edge. Now, you might think a place like this, with a view that would make millionaires jealous, would be just another tourist trap. But you’d be wrong. Zi Anto is the real deal. The coffee is strong enough to put hair on your chest, and the seafood? Fresh doesn’t even begin to cover it. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time, sipping an espresso or nursing a glass of cold Vermentino while watching the sun dip low in the sky. This beach isn’t just for sunbathing and postcard views, though. Punta Tegge is for the doers, the adventurers. Kayaks are lined up, begging to be taken out for a spin, to explore the coastline in a way that no car or footpath could ever allow. If you’re feeling particularly bold, snorkel gear is available too, letting you slip beneath the surface and enter another world entirely—a world where fish dart between rocks, and the only sound is the rhythm of your own breathing. But even if you don’t set out on an aquatic adventure, Punta Tegge has its rewards. It’s a place that invites you to slow down, to savor the simple pleasures—cool water on a hot day, the smell of salt and sea, the warmth of the sun on your skin. It’s a place to reconnect, with the world and with yourself. As the sun begins to set, casting a golden glow over the granite rocks, you’ll understand why this place is special. It’s not just another beach. It’s a sanctuary, a reminder of why we travel in the first place—to find places like this, where the world still feels wild and beautiful, and where, for a few precious moments, we can forget everything else and just be.

Spiaggia dell'Isolotto is a popular shingle beach located just a few meters from the port in Palau. It's known for its family-friendly atmosphere, with a full-time lifeguard and shallow waters making it safe for young children. The sandy white beach and turquoise waters are just a short walk from the town center, and the adjacent pine tree forest adds to its natural beauty. Despite its proximity to the bustling harbor, the beach maintains a peaceful ambiance and offers free parking.
This is an excellent family friendly shingle beach ⛱️ not huge but has a full time life guard and there is a natural rock reef about 20-30 meters into the water and for a small child (5-6yrs) the water is no deeper than shoulder height. All the families around seem to be locals and there is parking right allow the beach front this a little diamond of a beach.

Spiaggia di Talmone is a beautiful and secluded beach located in a cove with stunning rock formations. The coarse sand and clear waters make it an ideal spot for swimming, although water shoes are recommended due to some sharp rocks. The beach is also known for its abundance of friendly fish.
Parked in the roundabout for free. It was full of cars during October Half-term (about 10 cars) but the beaches are made of little coves so u can still get a spot on your own. The path to the beach is very narrow and not for people with mobility issues. Possible to do it with kids, just slowly. If you have kids, be aware It's Italy so many women tan topless and we even saw a naked old man...

BE CAREFULL with your car – we were robbed. The beach itself was absolutely beautiful, the day there was wonderful. But when we came back to the car, our holiday was basically over: two suitcases with belongings worth at least €5,000 were stolen in broad daylight. We just didn’t think something like this could happen during the day – we were in holiday mode and didn’t consider the risk. Pretty naïve from our side, and that’s exactly why I’m writing this review: in the hope that others will be spared the same experience. Please be careful and never leave anything in your car.

It was a great, unique small bay surrounded by huge spectacular rocks. It is not easy to find a comfortable place, but therefore it is not crowded at all. Higly recommend to spend some time. Public parking seemed to be free:)
Vince N — Google review
The road goes through bushes and over some rocks, but it is not very difficult. Possible even in flip-flops. Beach is not so much for swimming because it has lots of rocks, but it is beautiful and definitely worth visiting.
Jelena M — Google review
Beautiful beach enclosed with rock formations, 10-15 minutes walk from the roundabout at the end of the road via tiny path through the bushes and rocks, but very worth it! Quite private before 8-8.30 am, around 9 am people start arriving. Parking could be a challenge if you come late, there is no parking lot, only on the side of the road. Hiking shoes or sneakers certainly a preference over flip flops. Early morning feels very intimate, having this wild pearl all to yourself.
Kristine G — Google review
Lovely beach. You do need to traverse a winding small path with thorny bushes for about 20 minutes. Bring sneakers. Snorkeling was also good with clear water and plenty of fish around
Bjorn B — Google review
For me the most beautiful beach in this area, not crowded, and it has a lot of different fish. You need to walk about 10-15 minutes, but worth it.

Lido
Residence Porto Mannu offers simple rooms and self-catering apartments with furnished patios, some featuring panoramic sea views. The property boasts two outdoor pools, a buffet restaurant, and a private beach area. Surrounded by spacious gardens, the accommodation includes en suite bathrooms and is housed in small villas rather than tower blocks. Guests can enjoy the great sandy beach, lush greenery, and friendly staff.
I'd give only 4 stars to the hotel itself, but the personnel was fantastic. We've arrived much later than planned, the restaurant was closed and the bar just about to close, so reception made sure that the bar guys wait for us and leave us some sandwiches. Rescued us from starvation so to say 🙂 Everyone was very very nice. The rooms are basic, but ok. The beach and the area is beautiful.
Marina K — Google review
Nice hotel, it’s a 3 star hotel. Breakfast was ok, feedback is to put something to protect the cheeses and hams because there were bees and flies on those goods. Nice infrastructure, air conditioner, very close to a beautiful beach, cleaning service daily and great.

Terrible, if you are a family, AVOID! They wanted to charge more than in their confirmation email saying they made an internal mistake, yet if you don't pay they do not give bedsheets to your kids...
Gergely T — Google review
We loved this place and had an amazing vacation! The location is great, a lot of greenery and flowers with a wonderful view of the bay. The food was very good considering it is a 3 star hotel, with a lot of options. And then the service and the animation team, they are simply amazing! We will defenitely return. Grazie!

We stayed at the residence the last week of September and tick all the boxes for us! Great sandy beach, spacious gardens, lots of green, kids area (for our 1.5 years old daughter!) overlooking the beach, vast choice of rooms and apartments in small villas (no tower blocks!) and friendly staff. Our one bedroom apartment was basic but had everything that we need, the beds were comfortable. There is also a bar and restaurant, we didn't use it this time as we were self-catering but the bar yes, they have a good selection of sandwiches. Wifi was avaible in the public area but some days I also had it in our apartment. It's my 2nd time here at this residence and didn't disappoint at all, will be back again soon! Thanks again to the staff, in particular the lady with short silver hair, my daughter S loved you!
Manu G — Google review
Nice location with rooms like bungalows. If you’re lucky you’ll get one on a small hill with great view on the bay. Unfortunately, the whole complex is not renovated and the ‘80s style is still going strong - you have a feeling you were transported back in time sometimes. The staff was nice and friendly but the service of the food was terrible. Both breakfast and dinner are not meeting any standards at all - narrow choice, cheap ingredients and preprepared food in bulk are a recipe for disaster. With minimum ambition of the management the place can become a gem!
Sanchy — Google review
Gorgeous view from our apartment. I can’t understand the people who have concerns regarding this hotel considering the very good price and location ( they probably complain everywhere they go). We will definitely return to this place. Very polite staff, very nice beach, good food etc etc
I S — Google review
AVOID! Worst place on Costa Smeralda. I Do not recommend to anyone. The Management, the owner and the staff at the restaurant were impolite and even rude. Our car was damaged (scratched) on the parking lot of the hotel but the hotel management completely did not care about it. It is an old resort which has not been renovated for many years, swimming pool was dirty, food was poor, apartment was small and non functional (very small kitchenette). Avoid staying at this place!

Spiaggia di Cala di Trana is a hidden gem located near La Marinedda beach and Hotel Torreruja di Isola Rossa. Accessible only by sea or a 30-40 minute hike, this secluded beach offers stunning red rock landscapes and tranquil surroundings. Visitors are advised to use hiking apps for navigation as there are no signposts along the way. The walk from La porta del paradiso to the beach is approximately 1.
Beautiful and clean and clear sand beach. We walked 40 min from La porta del Paradiso. On the way you will Pass two Other little beautiful beaches. Wear good shoes as you will pass rocks and thorny plants.
Husa J — Google review
Can’t go beyond the green gate - there’s no way to the beach(it also says it’s private property on it). I followed other reviews to get to Cala di Trana and had to walk all the way down just to find myself in private houses…. Had to walk the way back up and took a challenging rocky path down to the beach. Highly recommended taking the Costa Serena route. Parking and trail are easy and accessible there.
Vi B — Google review
A gorgeous beach, kept very quiet by the fact it is only reachable by sea, or a 30-40 min hike. We parked at 41.1988774, 9.3367813 (Google Maps coordinates) and it took us 35 mins to walk to the beach. There are multiple paths that lead to nowhere so make sure you do your research and download a hiking app that can show you the way, as there are no signposts and very little markings to show you you are on the right route. However, it is well worth the effort as the large beach is generally quiet and is lapped by clear, turquoise water. Due to its sheltered location, it also doesn’t suffer from the strong westerly winds.
Steven M — Google review
Start your route at La porta del paradiso. There is a free parking space. Wear shoes for the hike, no flip flops. It's 1.3km to walk. It's not a big challenge except the heat it you walk in the midday and in the sun. Try to walk with Google maps. You can see the path. Perfect empty beach, went in mid September. Some boats do a stop there. But nothing compared to the other overtourism beaches
Simon K — Google review
Fantastica! One of the best beaches in north Sardegna. You need to have good directions and be able to walk and hike for about 45 minutes under the sun each way. But worth it!

The surrounding area is rich in vegetation, bamboo, and rocks. I must report that despite a no-smoking sign (there are no trash cans), a black man, while talking on the phone on the shore among the rocks, calmly stepped out of a green gate, smoked a cigarette, and threw the butt on the rocks into the sea. I'm attaching photos because I hope these words of mine will be read by those who manage the residence. What a disgrace! It is advisable to bring snorkeling gear such as a mask and fins to fully appreciate this natural spectacle. Small cove facing the white cliffs of Bonifacio, one part is sandy and the other part is rocky with pebbles and lots of dried posidonia. Absolutely heaven for snorkeling, kids will love it as there is plenty of sea life to watch. Not much used by tourists, only locals when we were there. Sunbeds for hire at 7 euros. Car park is chaotic and can be dangerous ( warning if you have a rental!)

Unfortunately, there were too many wasps on this beach, starting at 8:00 a.m., constantly bothering them, so much so that eating was impossible. Spiaggia di Cala Martinella is a small rocky cove with a tiny beach offering stunning scenery and clear turquoise water. While parking is limited, the beach is easily accessible by car, although the road can be challenging for lowered vehicles. The beach itself only accommodates a few people, but there are additional sitting areas on the surrounding rocks. It's perfect for snorkeling with an abundance of fish and sea life to observe.
A small rocky cove with a tiny beach. Stunning scenery and clear turquoise water. Parking is limited, I parked higher up the road in the village and walked the last 700m to the beach but there are a few spaces at the beach itself. The beach only needs about 6 or 7 people to fill it up but there are other areas on the rocks around the edges where you can sit and take in the scenery. Great for snorkelling with plenty of fish (and sea urchins). There are no facilities so take everything you’ll need with you. Well worth the effort as it is a little piece of paradise and the village itself is stunning.
