Me and my family had an unforgettable time at Rocca’Ja, a charmin seaside restaurant in Sardegna. Situated right by the water, the view was amazing — calm waves, clear ocean, and a refreshing sea breeze. Absolutely amazing seafood and pizza! Tried their grilled mixed seafood, fried calamari, pizza and oysters. Fresh, aromatic, rich! I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more than enough! But remember to call and book a table in good time!

We stumbled across Rocca Ja via the happy cow app. Finding vegan options in Sardinia wasn’t the easiest and we were so lucky we found this place. They have many vegan options ( vegan mozzarella can be added to the pizzas) as well as vegan desserts. I opted for the vegan poker dessert which had small portions of all desserts. Absolutely delicious! The view was stunning, as was the service. Went back twice and loved both times! Would highly recommend!

Excellent service atmosphere and family ownership vibe. I am vegan and had plenty of excellent options. You must try the vegan cheese platter. Simply heavenly! Had the vegan pizza a week earlier. Delicious. And don’t forget the Vegan Tiramisu.. it’s perfect! And yes the views are breathtaking!

One of the best restaurants we've eaten in all of Sardinia. The space is rustic qnf beautiful with sweeping views of the town and sea all around. The food is very very good with authentic flavors and fresh. The pizza was just perfect. Great selection of wine and cocktails. Even the complimentary rustic bread was the best. Polite and friendly staff.

4 points and not 5 because the service was very slow, it took quite some time to get the food on the table since we ordered. Besides that, great food, the porchetto was outstanding and the serving size huge (we ordered porchetto for 2 and had dinner this day and the next). Reasonable prices and amazing views. Recommended!

My partner and I (big foodies) had an amazing experience at Ristorante Il Cormorano. We came here for lunch and not only was the food so unique, fresh and special but the service was incredible. Ambrogio was helpful, knowledgeable and went above and beyond in making our experience unforgettable. Called in for lunch here after reading Google reviews. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent friendly but knowledgeable. We asked for a local white wine as we are from California and New Zealand and after describing our palet were shown an excellent choice. The dishes themselves were superb. We were lucky the lunch service was not busy so managed to chat to the staff. Adds so much to the whole experience when you do get that interaction. Would we go again absolutely. We enjoyed our entire meal experience. From the selection of oils and breads to the dessert. You will not be disappointed.

What an incredible experience. By far some of the best dishes we had on the island. The staff is so warm and friendly, and not at all up-tight or cold. We felt welcome from the first moment, to the last. The staff was able to answer all our questions. I wish I got our waiters name, but he knew exactly how to treat us as guests, and kept us laughing all evening. As for the food... Excellent. Every course was so refined and tasted so good. Fresh, local produce and ingredients, treated with care and there was clearly thought in every dish. The set menu for €65 was MORE than worth the price. We would have happily paid more. The tuna appetizer with poppy seeds is one of the best dishes I have eaten in a long time. So tasty, so fresh! I would highly recommend this place, wether it's for a full 5 course meal, or just a quick main course and dessert! Thank you for an unforgettable evening. When you have 1 night in Castelsardo, this is the place to go. Great experience, good fish and good meat. We’re in Italy for almost two weeks and I guess we’ve had enough pasta and pizza. So what we did here is go for a Secundo - calamari and beef, with roasted potatoes & rosemary, grilled and crudités vegetables. The have a wood fire pizza oven as well

The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious! I especially loved the view from the terrace it's such a beautiful spot. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a reservation, so I couldn't get a seat outdoors. Definitely planning to book ahead next time to enjoy the full experience!

Nice place, steps away from all the touristic trap places, food was good, service fast. The only dish we didn't loke was the medagliones the manso, the sauce was really bad, supper bitter wasn't expecting that on a meat plate, without sauce would have been much better.

The food was excellent. We ordered pasta each to start and the portions were generous. The food was authentic and fresh. Shared a seabass fillet for main and again, very tasty and generous. Shared a dessert too. Service was fast but when the place filled up it was clear some people had to wait. Totally normal with so many customers. I had some questions about a dietary requirement and they were helpful in translating and asking the kitchen. Definitely worth booking. We went at 7.25 on a Sunday in late September and got the last unbooked table. Those arriving at 7.30 were turned away/ booked at 9pm.

Das Personal war vornehm Schwarzweiß gekleidet und schon etwas vornehm. Aber wir waren in unserer Strand/Freizeit Bekleidung trotzdem willkommen, das war sehr angenehm. Im Hintergrund lief angenehme, dezente Musik. Die Speisekarte hatte einen guten Umfang. Die Preise sind im mittleren Niveau, aber für diese gute Lage absolut OK. Ich hatte meine Pizza Diavolo extra scharf bestellt, darauf hin habe ich leckeres Chili Öl gebracht bekommen, mit dem ich die Schärfe selbst regulieren konnte. Vorher gab es noch Weis und Hirtenbrot. Die Brottasche wurde gegen eine volle ausgetauscht als sie fast leer war. Die Pizza und Fisch waren nach einer halben Stunde fertig und sehr gut. Der Fisch wurde an einem Beistelltisch vor uns sehr gut und Gräten frei ausgenommen. 37 € für 2 große Getränke und 2 sehr gute Hauptmahlzeiten, davon eine mit frischem Fisch ist für diese exponierte Lage ein sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis.

This is the best meal I have ever had....ever. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. I asked if they had a vegan option, and there wasn't one on the menu but the chef very kindly made one for me. This was aubergine with black spaghetti (made with charcoal instead of squid ink), saffron puree and fresh truffle. It was fresh and full of flavour. The chef is incredible. He even came up to see me and checked it was all OK. The only down point for me is that I do not live locally so cannot come and try this amazing dish again. Thank you

From the beginning, the waiter didn’t give us a menu and told us that only a 3-course set menu was available—either fish or meat—for 60 euros per set. It sounded good, but turned out miserable: 1 oyster, 1 shrimp, a tiny slice of fish, a small serving of pasta, a quarter of a tuna steak, and a piece of eggplant—all for 60 euros! The first course—just some oysters, shrimp, and fish—took 40 minutes to arrive, even though it didn’t need cooking! We spent 1.5 hours for lunch, mostly waiting. When the bill came, we saw an extra 6 euros charge for a few slices of stale bread. The total bill came to 146 euros for 2 set meals (as shown in the photo), 2 glasses of cheap wine, 2 small beers, and the unwanted bread. To make things worse, the women’s bathroom door didn’t even close. Avoid this place.

Al Castello Restaurant in Castelsardo: Atmosphere and Ambiance: The restaurant is perched atop a hill, offering breathtaking views of the sea and the historic town of Castelsardo. The outdoor terrace is charming, especially during sunset. However, the interior decor could use some updating. Service: The service was friendly but lacked attentiveness. One waitor was lacking any talent. I have had to open the wine bottle for him. Another one, managed it with excellence. However we have appreciated the complimentary glass of spumante provided by the owner upon arrival. Food: Fresh Fish of the Day: We opted for the catch of the day, which was a beautifully grilled sea bass. The fish of around 700g was after being filleted a 200 to 250g piece. A bit too less for 2 persons. The fillet was flavorful and perfectly cooked. However, the pricing system based on weight (€10 per 100g) felt a bit steep for the final fillet end. Side Dishes: The accompanying roasted vegetables were hardly visible —and not tasty. Dessert: We skipped it this time. Spumante: The complimentary glass of spumante was a delightful touch. It had a pleasant effervescence and paired well with our appetizers. Improvements Needed: While the food quality was generally ok, the overall experience fell short due to the relation quality/price/service. There rare good and bad tables on the terrace. We have had a bad one, in the left corner giving me the view on a wall. Bad luck for me. Despite this, the professionalism of some service staff was lacking and could at least from service side enhance the dining experience at Al Castello. In summary, Al Castello may offer, depending on your table, a picturesque setting but improvements in service and food would elevate it to a recommendable dining spot. 🍽️🌅

I recently dined at Al Castello and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. The food was disappointing, with the duck being particularly awful—it completely ruined the meal. It was so bad that we had to leave and find another restaurant just to have a decent meal. To make matters worse, the prices were steep making the experience even more frustrating. The only redeeming factors were the good selection of wine and the friendly staff, but these were not enough to compensate for the poor quality of the food.

Awful dinner. Salad is 5 small tomatoes and a bunch of lettuce... for 4 euro. Spaghetti without any salt pepper nothing! Coperto 3euro. Get away from this place! Trattoria MG is much better place.

They fitted us in for lunch for two with no booking. Service was quick and attentive. The pasta was absolutely delicious. I had spaghetti with mussels in white sauce (butter, garlic, parsley). Portions are generous. We sat inside in the cave-like interior. A great atmosphere inside with the owner chatting to lots of guests. Obviously lots of locals come here regularly. Recommend!

Waw I can say that it was the best restaurant I ate in 10 days vacations all around Sardine. The waiters were very friendly and professional, the location of the restaurant is with a beautiful view. Me and my husband ordered only 2 sea appetizers, each included 6 different plates (24 euros each). Everything was delicious and enough for the dinner. I would fully recommend it.

This is the longest review I’ve ever written – but they truly deserve it! 💛 I went for dinner with my wife and it was an outstanding experience. We started with a complimentary octopus appetizer – tender, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Then came the seafood paella, which was simply the best I’ve ever had – rich in taste, aromatic and cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and professional. Without a doubt, a place worth visiting if you want to enjoy top-quality cuisine! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Stumbled into this gem today, we did not have reservations but the staff was kind enough to get a table for us. They had a pre-set menu today for a special holiday which was basically a bunch of seafood prepared a ton of different ways. The staff was absolutely charming, and very kind one of them even deboned my fish for me. The waiter spoke good English and the others also spoke some English (this doesn’t matter to most but to the few Americans traveling here this may be comforting to you as it was for us). The meal was fairly priced. All of the seafood tasted fresh, my husband barely likes seafood and he even enjoyed this meal. This was one of our favorite meals on our trip. We had a fantastic experience today and would recommend this place to all!

We left the place quite disappointed! Ordered the sea food plate, which was 40 eur for 2 people, lowest quality of fish used, the fish also had a pretty bad smell and tasty. We were attacked by the nice reviews, however the place is disappointing and I won’t recommend it.

The on-site restaurant was an enjoyable experience, though slightly on the expensive side. However, the quality of the dishes made it worth the splurge; Sardinian cuisine is celebrated for a reason, and Baga Baga certainly does it justice. Overall, Hotel Baga Baga provides a charming, comfortable, and memorable stay in Castelsardo. If you’re looking to soak in Sardinian hospitality and views in a serene setting, this is the place to be.

Wow! So glad we discovered this restaurant in Castelsardo - the quality and service are just 'eccelente'! We enjoyed it a lot with our family group of 15 people, including kids (4 > 15 years old) that felt very welcome. Credits to the chef and patron!

We had a room with a balcony providing a spectacular view of the surrounding and Castelsardo. Dinner in the restaurant was nice and breakfast was good as well. Water in the swimming pool was unfortunately too cold for us. You can park your car near the rooms. The people working here are friendly and very helpful. I can highly recommend this place.

We had a dinmer in this beautiful restaurant. Everything was perfect- bartenders were very friendly, we didn’t have to wait, the meal was excellent and the views were brilliant. We will be happy to return to this beautiful place.

I've had an outstanding treatment at this restaurant. The food itself is the classic of Sardinian tradition but, the recipes have a modern touch which create this place a very interesting restaurant to visit more often. Fabulous quality of seafood. The location is great as have a stunning view of Castelsardo bay. The staff is very professional and makes the atmosphere of the restaurant quite funny. Great selection of wines and spirits. I will definitely suggest to visit it and I will be back soon to try more food!

The waitress did not speak English, and the waiter did not write down our order, which resulted in errors. It was also overpriced. The restaurant serves great local food, especially fresh fish and seafood. Great service, very nice location, and not cheap. I do get the idea how the structure of Italian starters, intermediates and main courses is, but honestly: a pasta with courgette and prawns, with literally 3 prawns and 3 slices of courgette for €19??

We stayed in Castelsardo a couple of nights and Pinna was always the winner restaurant for dinner. The view is amazing, the menu full of fresh fish and great desserts, and the staff incredibly nice. Would highly recommend!

Food is 95%fish related and was greatly enjoyed by those who had it. I went for a local pasta dish followed by chicken fillet. Mine was good but was spoilt by 3 French girls, who decided to light up cigarettes and pollute the area. So if, like me as a non smoker, then it may be worth thinking twice before visiting or speaking to the owner about a non smoking area.

Not a fan of animal cruelty as displayed there... We were there just for drinks, was nice enough, friendly staff and ok prices. But why does staff feel the need to parade a lobster and a langusta/crayfish around for pictures? And then when the langusta manages to wriggle free in its panic and drops to the floor, the waitress just casually rips out its feelers while picking it back up? Just kill and cook them (hopefully as 2 separate processed) and then eat them, but why the wanton cruelty? Why the need to needlessly torture the poor animal further when it's already clearly terrified? Will never go there again, regardless of quality. At least treat animals with respect, even if they're "just lifestock" and meant for consumption. An additional negative, the cashier just took a tip himself and said thanks, I was too flabbergasted to object. It was only 50c, so whatever from a monetary view, but that's about principle, I would never tip at a horrible place like this.

I stayed at the hotel and dined at their restaurant for 5 days, and it was a fantastic experience overall. One thing I really appreciated was the complimentary starters usually a soup or small appetiser which added a thoughtful touch to each meal. Since I don't eat seafood, I noticed the starters were seafood-based at first, but by day 3, they served me a meat-based appetizer instead. It really felt like the staff paid attention to my preferences, which I truly appreciated. The servers were absolutely exceptional some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. They spoke English very well, were attentive without being intrusive, and clearly knew what they were doing. The food itself was exquisite. You can really taste the originality and authenticity in every dish. And to top it all off, the view from the restaurant was breathtaking. Highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant!

Everything was above any expectations, starting from the parking, the location, first contact with the receptionist, and the list of super service and nice people goes further to the end. The food is above amazing, the sommelier knows his job, the wines are great. What else can I say? Ah, maybe there is: I am passionate about food wines and hospitality and I rarely see a team in which all the employees are themselves, relaxed but dedicated to their work. Maybe that’s why everything tastes so good and your time there as a guest is memorable.

Zero customer service.The worst service imaginable. Rude, bad language and ignorant attitude. Bad language towards customers, they forget tourists can speak Italian or Sardinian… just horrible that my wife cried afterwards, which was a first. This restaurant typifies the old Sardinian attitude that because you have a restaurant then the food comes first and the customer is just a number.

Let's start with the obvious: this place has the perfect scenery for a candlelight dinner. Make sure to have a reservation, as the place is usually packed. Make the reservation for 30 min. Before sunset and you will have a beautiful time. As usual only some of the staff speaks anything else but italian, the menus however come in multiple languages, so don't worry. The staff was very welcoming to us, but we've witnessed the opposite, apparently the jogging pants community is not welcome here (which i very much applaud! This probably explains some of the negative reviews 🤫). The food: We've been here a couple of times and the food has always been delicious. Maybe not the hugest portions in the world, but acceptable. The menu clearly states that some parts of the menu can be frozen in origin, if the fresh product is not available. I'd argue that the shrimps here are always frozen, which is a brutal shame in a city right next to the ocean! And the shrimps don't come cleaned, but as a whole (you have to peel it yourself!) Still though: even frozen shrimp with this view is very edible :) and the rest of the dish is great and beautifully seasoned. The pulpo was always delicious, such as the mussels. I highly recommend the antipasti di mare and the seafood salad. Finally the price: Castelsardo is definitely not cheap and so is this restaurant. For the frozen product I must say it's definitely overpriced, but factoring in the view and the experience as a whole i didn't really mind. If they would match the prices to the freshness of the produce or even better: Show a menu of the day, making clear what's fresh today would massively improve the already great experience. Parking is painful to impossible, but free if you can find a spot.

This was our first meal in Castelsardo -- we're staying down the road and saw that it had an amazing view! The food was excellent, and our waiter spent time and attention cleaning our fresh fish. We also got prawns which were also delicious. Would recommend!

This restaurant was recommended by a local person. The only thing that we liked there was a pasta with sea food which was really good. Every other thing could be considered average. If you want to drink only a glass of wine you must to take their homemade wine. If you want another wine, you need to take the whole bottle. We also spotted a problem which wasn’t the restaurant’s fault - there were so many wasps that it was impossible to enjoy the dinner.

Four stars for the view, three stars for the food. We had the mixed grilled fish, which we found out upon its arrival that it meant grilled shellfish and fish... We weren't enthused since we don't really eat shellfish and it didn't have much flavor since it was just grilled. The service was decent, but they didn't really speak English so it was hard to communicate with our limited Italian. However, the view really was amazing. Would go back for drinks. Oh, and the bathroom door didn't lock which isn't ideal....

Location is amazing with a great view! Food is quite tasty and price is reasonable. However, service quality is not good and I think it is something for the restaurant to consider improving it. Then I'd easily think giving 5 stars. For instance, we had to keep our bottle of wine on our table as they gave aside wine standings to other tables. For dessert, the waiter didn't give us a menu but tried to let us know about the desserts by himself without explaining much (we'd want to check price ourselves but couldn't). Besides all of it, they simply should have offered digestive..

We had lunch at su Nuraghe midweek. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They have an extensive menu with a wide choice of fish, meat and vegetable dishes, beyond the usual tourist fare. I don't recall seeing a pizza on the menu. I had the grilled sea bass which was excellent and my wife had veal steak, which had been grilled exactly as requested. The portions were generous. The cost was 69 euros, which included side dishes, beer and water, coffee, and cover charge. So far, it has been the best value of the restaurants we've been to. The view of Castelsardo and the Mediterranean from their patio is spectacular. We would highly recommend.

View is amazing, service is good. But we ordered grilled fish plate, and part of the fish was super dry, like it was cooked few hours before. Probably, trying not to have leftovers. Better to reserve table ahead.

The staff forgot our wine, and we had to remind them before the main course. They served us uncooked swordfish, so I advise against ordering the fish of the day, as it was also disappointing. On a positive note, the staff were polite, and the view was beautiful. However, I am not satisfied with the food.

Stopped by this place while driving the panoramic costal road. We were able to score a terrace table with a view of the castle. The food wine and service were excellent. The seafood is not to be missed. English menu available.

Very nice restaurant with terrace offering breathtaking view on castel and bay. Food was great (2 different raviolis, spada, beef carpaccio). Staff is speaking English, so table reservation and later talking inside about dishes was easy. Pity, that beside few words there is no more information about locally produced wines in the list, and waiter accepted my choice with no comment. Honestly, wine was good, but for our food not paired well enough. Well, I know many wines, but I don't know all of them, especially since we're talking about wines from local Sardinian vineyards.

Really enjoyed our meal here. A lot of other places were closed due to being out of season but were glad this place was open. Lovely spot sat outside in the heart of the old town with a bustling atmosphere. We had the Sardinian sausage gnochetti and king prawns as our main dishes which were very tasty (although little bit more expensive than other places we’d been elsewhere on our trip)

Wow wow wow, this is my recommendation for all of you who come to Sardegna! This was our culinaric highlight and all the walking to castello worth it! 1. The service was overwhealming and friendly! Because of the variety of wine, we had a really good advice and the offer to test everything. Sweet! 2. The variety of local food and fresh fish is the best we saw in all restaurants around. It was so hard to decide! 3. The recommendation was exactly what we were looking for! We had 2 menus (sea food and local food), absolutely enough for me and my hungry man (: 4. Price was more than fair: 25€ per menu including wine and local liquor for dessert. Perfect evening in a nice and scenic atmosphere! The best choice for slow food and healthy food lovers who like local and social connections. We will definetly come back for more recommendations of Le Cisterne and its nice guys ♡ Thank you!

We liked our interactions with Edoardo: nice and friendly even if you feel the urge to hurry. Though some waiter could improve his performance with us. The food is ok but a bit expensive for what it is. Not sure all was fresh but the sausage is a real wine and fish is fresh.

Has a lovely terrace on the piazza so you can sit outside on warm nights. Food was mixed. I had the zuppa ai frutti di mare (with mussels and clams), which was a big portion and delicious but came with a total of three clams. My friend had the calamari alla Castallanese which was literally just a small serving of stew with no rice or pasta. I then had the spaghetti allo scoglio, which was tasty and well cooked, but very salty. The prawns were very obviously frozen and recooked as they fell apart to mush. I also want to make special mention that a piece of bread in our basket was toasted on one side - so I assume they recycle bread. Service was friendly, but mixed. My friend specifically asked for a Diet Coke with a glass with ice, and they brought her the can and sat it directly on the table without a glass. There were only three waiters to service the whole restaurant so they seemed incredibly rushed. Food service was very slow.

We had a great evening here, pleasant atmosphere. Good appetisers and main course, I had a terrific pasta carbonara, others had various fish dishes which were also outstanding. The dessert left a bit to be desired, the tiramisu was a bit bland, but overall a great recommendation for an evening in Castelsardo.

If you love friendly service and a nice view, this is the place! Lovely owner and very friendly service. The menu isn’t that big but it didn’t matter to us. Food is very nice and the wine and prosecco is to. If you’re staying at castelsardo or nearby this place is worth visiting.

It’s such a nice, family-owned little place in Castelsardo! The staff if so friendly and welcoming! This place felt like really a local one, not tourist-based. The owner is also actively serving the food and wine, but not really speaking English, but it’s not a problem. We felt very good here and the view from the terrace was magical. The food is also good, but simple - it is more of a local, authentic place, nice, simple food - more of a vibe. You always choose from a few options for the day as a menu. But you feel, they made the food with care. :)

Could not recommend more. All of the staff were super friendly, amazing views, great food. Small menu where each of the dishes are perfected and very reasonably priced. Make sure to get here early/ reserve to get a table in the evening for fabulous views.

The four of us made reservations for a 20.30. The sun was setting and the music was the best of rock from the 60ties and 70ties. Really really great playlist. We share a bruschetta and salad caprese. Fresh and full of taste and the best oils and mozzarella. For main course we had pastas; carbonara, bolognese and gnocchi. Really nice, perfectly cooked and plenty. For desert we had the most perfect tiramisu. The ambience is perfectly laid back with daughter and father serving and keeping all guest happy and entertained. All in all wonderfull experience for a really good price. Very recommended!

Really great restaurant. We stayed in Lu Bagnu for 5 days and tried a few different restaurants but always ended up coming back to this one at night. Great place to eat when in this area. The service was really fast, attentive and good. The host - owner was always available and after 2 visits he greeted us as were we regulars for years. All the food we ate was very good and tasty. The pizza, the pasta all was exceptional. When we come back to this area we will eat there for sure again. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED after having a dinner with my friends at this place last evening. Once we sat down at a table and received menus, a waitress came 3 times within 10-15 minutes to take an order. It was really annoying as I was under impression she is rushing us with no reason. We got our starters quite quickly and they were really nice. Once we finished the starters, the same waitress came to collect the plates and she also brought new plates for shells and other seafood bits as for mains we ordered 2x risotto with seafood, spaghetti with seafood and vegetarian ravioli. And that was it, they forgot about us..!! After 40 minutes of waiting we asked a waiter how long we need to wait to get the food. He replied "3 minutes as it is just being cooked and it needs to be perfect"... We got our food 15-20 minutes later, which I found unacceptable! The food was alright however in my spaghetti there were 4 mussels not opened (which means they were dead and they should be discarded immediately by a chef whilst cooking!!). When I asked a waiter for a discount because of the issues he just replied "sorry". We did not get a discount or any other form of compensation for the above issues, which puts the restaurant and the manager in a VERY POOR LIGHT.. I AM ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPY about the place and I will NEVER eat there again.

We had a wonderful experience at this charming restaurant in the heart of Castelsardo. The setting is truly special, right on one of the picturesque alleys that makes the town so unique. The pasta was absolutely outstanding – full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent as well: our waiter was attentive, friendly, and everything arrived very quickly. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Food and wine was excellent, and we really liked the location and owners of this restaurant. Definitely our favorite restaurant in Castelsardo.

Don’t use this place. The food was so so, waited over an hour for 2 plates of pasta, one which they got wrong. When questioning them they told us that they were very busy and we were lucky to get the food and were very angry towards us for questioning the lateness of the food. Which, as we’re vegetarian was basically pasta with tomatoes sauce. The sauce and the pasta wasn’t homemade.

The gnocchetti were good. But the tomatoes were tasteless and the industrial mozzarella was the worst and saddest thing I ever had in sardegna. However the personal was kind.

The food looks better than it tastes. We ordered Linguine allo Scoglio which had prawns which tasted like frozen ones and “grilled fish” that consisted of half shellfish instead of fish. The taste was very average and we felt deceived by the positive reviews here. There was no water to wash hands in the toilet and when the waitress was informed she simply gave us a bottle of water to wash our hands. No AC in the restaurant so we sat outside which was on a busy street. The bread was not good either. You of course also have to pay coperto 2,50€ for each person.

Very cozy, but busy restaurant in a small square with a few other restaurants. We shared a mixed seafood plate based on the catches of the day 4 people. For main course we had cnocchi, culurgiones (Sardinien ravioli) calamari and seafood pasta. A local was playing the guitar or local music. It’s situated in the middle of the medieval city on a small corner/square. Very beautiful and much history. We loved it. Great local food and great ambience.

Good experience, fast service, reasonable food. Unfortunately some dirty glasses but that happens. The pasta verdure portion was rather small but tasty nonetheless.

Great lunch stop at the top of hill by the castle. The seafood taster was great(for 1), and Sardinian cup salad got two thumbs up, and the gnocchi and kids fish sticks get a shout out as well. The service was great and the outdoor patio was well shaded.

It can be a good place but the service is crap. Ordered starters and pasta and the pasta was brought while still eating the starters (which btw is a big plate). The waiter didn’t seem do care about it and just dropped the plate on the table and left

Very nice restaurant right in the corner of the piazza. You can hear and sometimes watch live performance in the piazza. The food is very delicious and the quantity is a lot. You can also customise your dish. Like we stripped off squid from the pasta and was possible without any issue. If you like spices try their picante oliv oil. Staffs are nice and speaks English. Street parking is free after 20:00

We visited this restaurant for lunch and it was amazing. The price was very reasonable. We ordered three pizzas and one pasta carbonara. A bottle of wine and two cans of soda. We also ordered three double espresso’s and a tiramisu. All this for 70€. That’s great for a lunch. Thank you for the fantastic food. We will definitely return one day!

Just ok. Pizza tasted good but was soaked and not crispy. Caprese Salad was missing basil, after asking the waiter they did add 2! leaves of basil, mozzarella was not cut, tomatoes were rather tasteless. But still ok, considering fair prices and friendly service.

I think it is a restaurant that interprets seafood based on traditional Sardinian food. Even if they don't use very pretty decorations, they stick to the ingredients, making each dish unique and enjoyable. The fish tastes great, but would be better if not embedded in the sauce. The back ground music played in the restaurant is American cool jazz or fusion jazz, making the atmosphere more focused on the food. If the weather is nice or there is no wind, this place is recommended as you can open the terrace door and eat while feeling the outside air.

We visited in mid August as a family of 4 from England. The location is stunning and the service good, but in my opinion the food was not at the right standard for the price. One bottle of wine, several bottles of water, four starters, four primi piatti cost around 220€ (in London, I would expect an outstanding meal for this price). Also to note there was no menu (not even hand written on a board) because (we were told) it changes daily, and no prices were written down, so we had to ask before ordering.

Brilliant. We got there close to the time the kitchen was about to close. Staff was welcoming. The food was brilliant, and the gamberos were the best we’ve had in a while. Slightly pricy but the quality is high so the trade off makes perfect sense. On top of everything, the view is amazing.

Fresh, local produce, expertly prepared; great views, perfect music, ideal service...And more than fair pricing! Best meal we had in Sardinia!! The very next day we dined in a pizzeria and were charged nearly the same... (30-40€ per person) Visit and enjoy!

I highly recommend the fisherman risotto incredible. The service was very good, although I had some issues in the end. There was 2 things that were charged extra which were fixed and the catch of the day fish was weighted at 800g it was not, it was at best 500-600g (they did not weight it in front of us).

Kind of scummy business tactics. It says 30 euros per meal and minimum two dishes. When asked, they say it is a big plate, but don't mention you need to pay double the price. Food and atmosphere was ok though.

I was there with my friend. And we ordered shrimps with Spaghetti and a Salad. He was very disappointed that we orderer a Salad (because of low money income). Prices wäre ok, but the salad was very unlovely and Untasty. Just all ingredients on a plate. And the Shrimps with Spaghetti was ok but also Nottingh special.

For what we have ordered , it's just appalling, unfortunately. Grilled tuna steak was basically raw in the middle, smelled like feet, and super tasteless. Fried calamari was extra tough and gummy - everything needed salt. Fries - really bad. Definitely avoid these two options when choosing your meals.

It was an okay place. The food was mediocre at best. We had a simple pasta with clams and a gnocchetti sardi that was good but not great. We also had the mixed grill of fish which lacked any seasoning whatsoever. Not only but the calamari was insanely tough and the langostine tasted only of burnt.

Pizza was delicious, we stayed in an apartment airbnb next door and got pizza for take away. They have every evening live music (peak season August) which is super nice, mix of English and Italian known songs mostly. Definitely recommend to take away a pizza and enjoy the anazing sunset on your own terasse or down by the beach! We arrived early (around 7pm) and didn’t even have to wait 10 minutes for our take away pizza.

Nearly didn’t go because of google reviews / it was a really enjoyable dinner, they won’t win a Michelin star anytime soon but the calamari and pizza’s were good and the location was spectacular ! Thank you Vela blu.

You definitely come here for the view and the sunset. The service is good and the waiters are very attentive and service minded, not the best to communicate with in English, but very willing to try to understand. We ate the risotto di mare and it was good. The prices are on the pricier side, but for the location it’s worth the price. It’s also a bar there, that is playing some kind of party music. It was not disturbing for us, we enjoyed it and it wasn’t that noisy, but it may be a mood breaker for a romantic dinner.

Below is a picture of 2 portions of calamati fritti., 16€ each for a total of 32 €. Calamari were raw and chevy. Portion was too small for the price. Felt sick the whole day after eating here. One of the worst and most expansive places to eat in the area. I have eaten all across sardegna and this was the worst place of all. Felt unwelcome. Unattentive staff. You can see the sea but you are not close to it. Clams were good and the portion was fair. Mixed meat plate was a rip off. Got 3 pieces of filllet and one small sausage, for 18€ although tasty, not enough for the money. Not a fancy place but they charge you as if they are. 0 for taste 0 for portions Bad experience. Went here as a group of 4, recommended to us by a local and had a very bad service. The view is great, we came right on sunset. The food was okay - classic Italian, nothing spectacular but good overall, no remarks on the quality, but the service was terrible. Ordered a couple of dishes (appetizers and second courses with one of us also ordering a first course to be shared by the whole table), agreed with the waiter on the order of the food coming out and then just sat there and waited... The appetizers (oysters) came rather quickly, but the first course was nowhere to be seen, even after 45 mins. Then one of us got their dish, after 10 mins another plate came to the table, after 15 mins followed by the first course (which came to the table after we finished our plates). It took an additional 20 minutes for the final plate to come, all together we sat at the table for over 2 hours, most of it waiting on our food. Pizzas were coming out quickly and a lot of people got their food before ours, and you could see the waiters were lost. Find a different place for dinner, the place wasn't even full and they were struggling so bad.

The only thing I liked was the location. Food and service was mediocre. My husband and my daughter got their food and ate it. I was waiting for my food and it looks like they forgot while every table around us were getting their food. When we were about to leave they told me to wait for my food and since I was being nice, I accepted. They did it fast and tasted bad. It’s very disappointing how they treat humble tourists that are trying to enjoy their little vacation.

Excellent location right in front of the beach with only a road to cross. Somewhat outdated interior but still a very nice hotel with all you need. Good rooms, although sound insulation could be better. Good price value relationship. I would go again. It is not fancy but it covers what I need from a hotel.

We ve booked this hotel day before arrival. when we arrived it was closed and they send us to other hotel wihout sea view without balcony. The reason was lie: „the renovarional has been extended” - we booked it 24 hours before so they inentionally offer hotel whitch is closed and send guests to other low standard hotel

Our stay at Riviera Castelsardo was the most relaxing portion of our Northern Sardinia trip! We had the sea view with spa access and it was well worth the extra money. Would definitely do it again!

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. Everything was fine. Great location the sea right across the road. Underground parking, beautiful pool, SPA and above all incredibly nice people everywhere. The lady in the restaurant, the young man behind the bar⚽️, the receptionist, the man from the pool, the masseur. Thanks everyone, it was great and we enjoy. 👍👍👍

Rooms are very clean & pool is great with a nice spa that is very reasonable, the staff is very welcoming and helpful,however they rented us two rooms , one for two adults and one for two adults and two children, the one for four is smaller than ours ( for 2) !! They simply moved in a small single bed that takes up the entire room and charged us another 500 euros!!, you can barely move around and have to crawl over one bed to the next to even get to the bathroom. We are in the process of trying to get our money back as I’m writing this . Ridiculous !! And they knew better than to rent that small of a room to a family of four…. We will see how they deal with it, stay tuned 😐

Nicely located hotel with great view over the sea and village (if you have sea view of course 😉). Rooms and beds were ok. Bathrooms dissapointing, especially for "spa" hotel. Only one soap container with handsoap only. No hair shampoo or other soaps. Restaurant for breakfast was not impressive and they allowed smoking at parts of the breakfast room. Staff at checkin was very friendly. Morning staff was a bit rude.

Overall good hotel with friendly staff and beautiful spa. Great location right by the sea with underground parking and lovely old town in comfortable walking distance. It's noisy in the rooms from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Breakfast is mediocre.

When looking for a place to eat in Castelsardo, me and my fiancee were approached by a very friendly guy (looked like the owner?) that offered us to sit on a terrace, among other options. We tooked it and had a great experience, food is great

Really pleasantly surprised Given that the menu was written in 5 languages, we thought it'd be a basic, touristy place (we didn't have many options as it was a bank holiday evening). We gave it a try and loved the place: the kind waitress, the food, the wine, the atmosphere, ... A lovely night ! We had to wait quite a bit for our food but we didn't mind as the place was nice. Would recommend it !

So after a disastrous planned dinner we end up in the well known passage Via Vittorio Emanuele Secondo 4a. Normal stunning pizza Carbonara. o my word. stunning. Broschetta beautiful and traditional Sardegna desert. 11 pm at night. stunning service. Do not get distracted by views and photos. The food is lurking in the smaller places.

Stopped here for lunch late May which felt like the start of tourist season as a lot of the restaurants lining the streets of castelsardo were competing for tourists which our kids found a bit overwhelming. So eventually we randomly stopped here as it seemed quieter than some of the louder spots. Staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a calzone, and seafood pasta and salad.

Undercooked pizza with white edges, hard dough, the grilled seafood and fish plate for 26 eur was a mockery. 3 shrimps and 3 tiny fish in the size of sardines.. The owner was unpleasant and arrogant. Try better other restaurants in surrounding area.

What a mistake. Our last pizzas in Sardaigna were the worst.... Never seen Calzone's like these. Dry and too crusty on the outside. Scarce tomato sauce and ingredients inside for the amount of tasteless dough + Expensive beer... Tourist Trap? One star for one of the staff members.

Bad quality food (carbonara - which is very basic - tasteless and too cooked, other pastas tasteless as well), slow service (it took them 40min to bring our orders), and they seem to try to save on quality and quantity of every ingredient. Parmesan cheese of bad quality and the olive oil was diluted in water (after I asked for a new one, they brought one normal)

The place very nice and stylish, pizzas are very tasty too. Prices acceptable, €9 and €8 for the pizzas we had. Service is quick and waitresses speak English well enough. Service charge €2/person as almost everywhere we have been so far. Definitely recommend the place 👌🏼

A lovely place for dining and drinks, great food and great staff, plenty to choose from.

Went there because of the high ratings on Google. Not very impressed by the foods taste or plating. However they speak English and the prices are reasonable. The downside is that they are in a hurry to get you out as fast as possible. They take away the plates as fast as they can. Although I understand it’s business it’s not very pleasant or relaxing to be eating while they hover around your table.

We ate Pizza. Very good, all of them, especially the one called Forest (or something similar), the one with gorgonzola, nuts, mozzarella and truffle-oil. The last one goes amazingly with the local white wine. The service was very nice, a great team is there. Best of the best was the Crema Catalan. Wow! I are it in different countries and restaurants, this one was like made by my mother (if she had the right ingredients).

tasty, friendly, recommendable. edit: our second experience was quite a bit worse, unfortunately. We ordered a kids portion for our daughter but had to pay the full price: 13 euro... this feels really ripped-off... therefore 3 stars shortage.

Neat little place. Service was very friendly and spoke English. The pizzas tasted great, even though if you are used to mainland Italian pizza toppings, the options were kind of unusual. I personally really enjoyed the swordfish. The only downside was that when we came back another day just for pickup it took ages, so id definitely recommend taking the time to eat there.

We stayed in a B&B near the Trattoria. We went there two times. The Malloreddus a la Sarda was amazing and it comes with a bread "plate". Both times we asked for the pizza but my husband believed the dough in the middle was uncooked. Overall the food was really good.

Very good pasta, I had the ravioli and I was very happy with the taste. You cannot have errors when you order a classic. My husband ordered their pizza. I was surprised to see fries on top of it😂 But I guess this pizza is popular among tourists. The staff is very friendly, only one lady was speaking english but we managed with our 4-5 italian words😅 For dessert I had panna cotta with pistachios- first time with this cream and was lovely! Overall, very good food!

Time wasters. It's highly recommended for foreigners to avoid wasting their time queuing as it looks like they have odd preferences when selecting their customers which is fine for their business but wasn't nice for mine as they kept us for longer than 20 min and keep promising the next table available but it was just wasting our time.

This Restaurant was awesome. The food was delicious and the stuff super fast and extremely friendly and welcoming. They spoke perfectly English, which was for us very helpful because we can’t speak Italian. I would recommend this Restaurant to all my friends and family members. If you are super hungry and you don’t like to wait to long, go there and enjoy your meal. Best regards from happy costumers.

Possibly the best burger I had in my life. Comes with a side of fries and a smile of the waiters. We can highly recommend the atmosphere, food and service at a very reasonable price.

The food was amazing! I especially recommend the pinsa with burata, totally tasty - pinsa was the best we ate in Italy! The tiramisu was perfetto! It hit my Italian tastes! the service was top notch, the waiter was very polite! We will come back for a sure, I recommend it to everyone! ❤️❤️❤️

La Paninoteca ‘da Federigo’ in Castelsardo serves massive portions with good-quality meat. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our order, and mine was missing an ingredient.

I do not recommend. The American burger was revolting. The “Cheddar” felt industrial and was so terrible. the meat was mediocre. Chicken nuggets were so awful, tasted like frozen bought, they aren’t hand-made. The atmosphere lacked. no music, just stressed waiters who keep rushing at you to order and then to finish your food.. The owner at the register was quiet rude, he glared at us when we asked to get the bill before paying to see it, and when we asked what is a certain thing on the bill which was written in Italian he answered us in an annoyed impatient tone. The only good thing was our kind waitress who spoke flawless english and was very attentive. In my opinion, you should go seek a different place to eat in Castelsardo.

If you have had enough Italian food, and want something more Americano, this is the place. Spare Ribs, hamburgers (Black Angus is one of many options), big plates of grilled meat, it's all available. Too bad the young waiter did not speak or understand English.

Don't make my mistake and eat at a restaurant because it has a beautiful view. Usually, the food is not good because people eat there for the view. The parking "lot" is very small, as it fits only 2 cars, and getting out of it is extremely dangerous because you have to back out onto oncoming traffic in a curve! So, I would find parking somewhere else. The food is poor quality. We ordered fried calamari and cotoletta di pollo with French fries. The calamari were rubbery and fried in old oil, as they had changed color in the oil. They fried zucchini in the same oil, because they were brown like the calamari and nasty tasting. The cotoletta was hard, overcooked. Service was not existent. The server brought the food and we only saw him when we were ready to pay. Here is my advice: take the pictures from the restaurant terrace and run away...

DONT PARK AT THE SUPERMARKET NEXTDOOR, THE GATE CLOSED AT 20:30/21:00 Food was good, not great. Service was very nice. The restaurant luckily called a guy with the key of the gate. Otherwise we needed te take a cap for a 1 hour drive. Don’t recommend this city, very boring.

We managed to get spontaneously a table in this restaurant. The service team was friendly. The location and the sunset-view was amazing. The pizza was perfect. I can highly recommend!

Although horse filet is a dish that is easily overdone, the 'fettina di cavallo' was spot on! Tender and not overly seasoned, just the way I prefer it. My companion had a delicious pizza capricciosa. Modern interior, served in English, and very affordable.

Very good pizza and lasagne, I took one of their pizza from the menu and added spicy salami on it. The dough especially is perfect. It gets really crowded around 9 PM and the service is not so good then. It takes a long time to receive the food.

The boss-lady was really rude. For our family of 5, I wanted to order 3 pizza's to share. Our 4 and our 5 year old don't even eat half a pizza and I hate wasting food. We had to order at least 4 pizzas. We settled for 3 and a side dish of (had to be large) french fries. The result was a lot of left overs and wasted food. Worst of all, we only got 3 plates for 5 people. I would have happily paid for the extra plates, but we could not have them. The pizza was good, the french fries were sloppy. The bill included 5 times 2 euros service costs for service we didn't get. I hadn't seen this anywhere else before.

Even though the restaurant had actually just closed (during the Rio de Janeiro summer carnival), the chef still made us a pizza (margarita). Thank you, chef, for helping these hungry Dutch people. Oh yes, the pizza was delicious.

The food was alright but we had to ask 2 or 3 times in a row to be brought a water, to get the order taken, to get the check. They tried to charge us for more at the end. I do not recommend.

Friendly, local bar with a lovely terrace overlooking the bay, shared with the nearby restaurant. Scattered about the street are other seats, as the bar appears to have spread itself along the tiny, historic streets. Beautiful.

Staff was friendly, but the Bruschetta didnt have any taste. The Salate Caprese was also quite overpriced. Woudnt recommend it.

The sunset view only is worth a visit. Wonderful. The staff are friendly. The music is perhaps a little too loud for some, but just acceptable for us. The lunch menu is simple and not extensive. Parking is difficult, but we parked the car for free down at the edge of town. All in all, for a drink this is the perfect venue, also for a small bite. but don't expect culinary excellence for lunch.

The view is stunning, it’s gorgeous! The Mojito tasted good, but I found it kinda small 🙂 After the drinks you have to pay directly either by card or cash. The music was nice as well.

We went there for an aperitivo at sunset. Beautiful view overlooking the sea and excellent cocktail. To try the Sardiniab Spritz. They also have an excellent gin collection!

Not great. This is a tourist trap. Staff was not helpful or friendly. The complimentary food was bad. The beer so-so. The only good thing is the view. Better off going to the wine bar across the road and then taking photos just up the road.

LU Bagnu is a hidden gem on Sardinia. It has a lot of restaurants and several beaches, but The Lounge is a must visit! It's cosy and has it's own stylish character. Their service is great and is specialised in good small talk. Their cocktail menu is of the charts and adventurous. Their cocktails are well made and well thought off. The food was great and might be a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? For a great time I would highly suggest you give The Lounge a shot.

The Lounge offers a great place to sit back and relax, all while enjoying (live) music, delicious cocktails great food. Furthermore, it's a superb spot to watch the sun set behind the mountains at the horizon.

Good quality of the food and service on the restaurant. However, the prices are for tourist, they charge us 10€ only for "coperto" being 2 adults an 2 smalls kids. They only give some bread for it. Very basic mix salad 13€ and small dish of pasta 15€.

Very decent place with a perfect service. Affordable prices both in the b&b and bar. For the quality of the service and the state of the room the price is very good. The only downside is the size of the room.

Once again Sardinia has done what Sardinia knows best if you are not a fish fan Find another island because i can guarantee that meat is not good to eat in Any restaurant not just this particular one, service was excellent the place is lovely yet my mix grill was terrible. P.S. everything is loaded with salt you can’t taste a single thing I have travelled a lot this island definitely loves to add salt to food if you don’t mind that than it’s perfect I personally wouldn’t advise anyone having a holiday in this place enjoy the videos on YouTube that will be the best experience you can have 🤪

Amazing place to spend the night, staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and location is good as well. Also the bar downstairs is a nice place to have a drink or eat something.

Little noisy if you have a room towards the street, air con centralised (not controllable). Staff friendly but a bit unorganised - nothing serious tho. Brekkie is ok. Stayed for two nights as it was a good hub for the region to explore

Sat in their lovely outdoor terrace (plagued by flies, but the alternative is sitting by the road). Food was variable. I had the seafood spaghetti, which was delicious. My friend wanted the fregola, but the waitress said it was for two people only, although this wasn’t marked on the menu and other dishes were. She took the grilled squid instead, which didn’t come with anything, so ordered fries on the side. The fries arrived (well after my pasta got to the table) and were already cooling and rubbery, and then she was told the squid would be a few more minutes. Not sure why kitchens in Sardinia seem to be like this, where people don’t end up eating together, and even don’t end up eating their own dishes of the same meal at the same time? Anyway, the squid was great, the fries were terrible. We risked dessert - admittedly Sardinia is not known for its desserts - and would not recommend. Would recommend as a restaurant, but just be careful what you choose. The fish on the next table looked pretty good too.

OK, the location is worth the price here, amazing spot with incredible views, there’s a cafe next door which was noticeably busier but we were glad we paid extra to have a lovely meal, good service and an overall memorable experience. They have a chef’s special sushi menu which we had a lovely tuna sesame dish from as well as a standard Italian pasta dish finished off with a couple of Limocellos in true Italian fashion! Well worth the trek up top to this restaurant for a lovely experience with good food and an amazing view!

Best in Sardinia! Outstanding lunch and setting. Beautiful terrace overlooking Castelsardo, the hills and the ocean. The terrace is sheltered with large umbrellas. The food is excellent - best we have had in Sardinia. Varied menu, with seafood the focus. The tuna tartar, scallops, seafood linguine were amazing. Our two children well catered for with simple pasta options.

Amare is a true gem in Castelsardo! Our dinner was amazing, from the food to the wine to the friendly staff and beautiful view. Even though the prices are a bit higher than average, so is the food and service so you totally get your moneys worth. Highly recommend!

I am reading previous reviews and don’t understand the hype. The location is nice, but the quality of the food is not as expected based on the rating. I had the sea bass which was small, deep fried and lacked any taste. Maybe I didn’t order the right thing. The staff was nice, but a bit in a rush and pushy at times. I am not that pleased with the experience, but maybe I am missing something

Very good food, good service. You feel the restaurant is new and the staff are putting in a lot of effort, the food is well prepared and finished. We enjoyed our lunch and great dessert prepared at the table. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing. It has a magnificent view on the sea, great service with friendly and competent staff and, last but not least, incredible food. They pay great attention to the smallest detail when preparing a dish. If you like raw fish, they have plenty of choices. We did not eat them but they looked delicious. We had uramaki with porceddu and were amazed by how good that was. Highly recommend!!

We stopped by as we had to take shelter from the rain in our visit to Castelsardo. We only spent around 20min and we only ordered a bottled beer and an aperol. It cost €16, an absolute ripoff!! And the waiter did not even handed out a bill!! Please stay away from this place!

First of all it is important to say, that it is not a restaurant but trattoria, which in Italia means a bit lower level of gastronomia. That being said is basically what describes the place the best. It's not the best food you will taste, not the cheapest either, but the location is great, view amazing, service kind and the premises decorated in a traditional style.

Very poor quality of food and service! Nothing was tasty, even bread or tomato & basil salad (please see photo), octopus or spaghetti di mare. Fish was acceptable. We very hungry and had to eat some of them. When we asked for changing the bread and tomatoes salad, they said we are complaining 🙂

Pizza as good as you can have almost everywhere in Italy. The most special thing with this restaurant is its location. Book a table in the afternoon/evening nearby the windows to enjoy the magic of the sunset in Sardinia.

Went here for lunch. Pizza wasn't even in the menu(???). We got the lasagna bolognese and spagetti ala carbonara which was extremely salty otherwise quite tasteless, the rest was ok. They charge you for couvert (fee you must pay for the basket of bread and a few sauce packets they always bring you) it was 1 basket and the sauces, we paid 9€, which is crazy since in other places you get a whole pizza for that. We were disappointed.

We wanted to give the restaurant a chance despite having 3 stars, but would not recommend it, reduced menu, frozen fries. the waiter greeted us with water and bread, not informing us that they were payable. included in the bill. ☹️

I tried this restaurant 2 Times. The sight is beautifull, the food is a bit expensive but ok. The people are really unhelpfull, unfriendly and make you wait forever. If you Don t speak italian, they don't like you. Never again!!

Best pizza in the area! Must go!!. The regular pizzas are reasonably priced, the special ones are quite expensive but very nice quality ingredients. The mortadella and the pistachio was 10/10 and the diavolo was excellent too, just a bit spicy! So nice to sit outside in the fountain area

Amazing pizza! Mortadela and pistachio was fantastic. My only problem with the place was that they only had two people for the whole restaurant and they took 1,5hours to serve us the pizza, 30 min to take our order. Pizza is very good, but they need to improve on the service side a lot. They were very helpful and kind tough.

This place is a must visit if you want great pizzas 🍕 It is off the main road, but once there, it is the best pizzas I have tried, and honestly tried a lot. There are some more special variant’s, like one with raw tuna, simply exceptional! If you want to get a table in the evening, make sure to reserve one outside, nice little square below a large stair.

Great staff 👍 We got lucky and didn't have a booking and arrived and was kindly given a table for 50mins which worked great for us as we wanted a quick pizza. And we were not disappointed absolutely delicious pizza! Fresh and made with care! The chef looks as through he was doing his art while making them. They were super busy! Turned away around 15 people's while we were there. Thankyou! Definitely book! You will not be disappointed

The pizzas were truly excellent – beautifully made and full of flavor. The service was friendly, but unfortunately far too slow. Even though we were among the first to arrive, it took over an hour before we were served. I can’t imagine how long the people who came after us had to wait. There were only two people working, the waiter and the pizzaiolo, which may explain the delays. I don’t know if this is their usual way of operating, but in that case, it might be better to limit the number of guests rather than make them wait so long.

The pizza was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. We were very satisfied with the service as well. Everything was well-organized, and the staff was kind, attentive, and professional.

Best pizza we have had on the island so far! The dough is very fluffy and delicious. Lots of topping options to chose from, also vegetarian options available. We can highly recommend this place and will surely come back!

came here thinking it was a pizza restaurant….turned out to be just a normal restaurant serving things like salads and horse/donkey meat. the food was okay - salad was decent and eggplant parmigiana was oddly amazing. atmosphere kind of dead though…… a bit of a random trip but anyways

Good restaurant to stob by on your way to Castelsardo. Unfortunately it has many plates with frozen ingredients which honestly it makes a bit too expensive the menu. But probably is a good compromise if you're starving.

The advertised hours are not correct. Attempted to eat here 3 times. Closed at every attempt, even when the kitchen "closes at 3pm" we were turned away for a third time at 14h30. It would appear the place is only open from 13h00 until 14h00 based on multiple visits.

We went to Pecora Nera for Sunday lunch. We used to frequent the restaurant very regularly a good few years back. A change of management meant a change of quality. 😮‍💨 Now, I'm happy to say, things are are much improved. Everything ordered was excellent, 4 completely different meals & all done to perfection. No waste! The staff all very pleasant & friendly. Only one down side in my opinion, the cost of branded wine. Two bottles of vermentino, one of Cannonau & two of Diffidente Rosa came in at 145€. Yes, we chose those wines but they are above average price. (We dine out very regularly) Will we go back? Absolutely, we've booked for a birthday next week & we will use it on a regular basis just going on the food quality & quantity! Maybe stick to house wine? Definitely 8/10.

It is some steps away from the main hectic restaurant area and from the outside it does not stand out, but it has a nice terrace upstairs with good views and the prices are very affordable - I had a dish of salmon pasta for 10€, and it was so good. The waiter was not as friendly as I would have liked it, but the overall experience was nice!

Calamari and cuttlefish were very hard and not tender and not tasty. A very big disappointment given the recommendation to try. Friends ate at opposite restaurant and similar food was outstanding and value for money. We tried a dish and were similarly impressed.

Went for dinner, after visiting the village and the castle. Sat in the terrace with an amazing view of the castle. Went on a Tuesday late at night. Not busy, the service was so lively and attending. But the food was amazing. Ordered pasta salmon, pasta prawn with courgette and seafood mix pasta, pizza diavolo (the favourite), pizza inferno and marggeritta. All for family of 5. Highlight of the evening for us was the view of the castle and the amazing local white wine. Took pieces of the pizza home takeaway (ordered more than we needed) but ate so satiating. Best place we went to visit in sardinia. And we went both local and high end restaraunts in various places. 100 % recommend. Favourite dish was seafood pasta, but everything was so delicious. For dessert ordered coconut ice cream, seadas ( traditional sardinian ) it was the most delicious ! And yoghurt ice cream with berries, and catalonia creme brulee thats a bit more custardy. Music and atmosphere was nice and lively even when we were the only ones left! Love this place. Will definitely return.

Probably the best dinner of our 5 nights in Castelsardo ⭐️ We had Aglio e Olio for primi, steak and lamb for main course and passionfruit semifreddo for dessert. We got excellent local wine pairings for the dishes and the bartender was professional enough to grant a special wish off the menu. The Sardinian brandy was also a fun thing to try as it doesn't seem to be available in most restaurants we've been to. Special thanks to the wonderful service throughout the dinner!
