Sukawati Art Market, also known as Pasar Seni Sukawati, is a vibrant and historic marketplace located in Bali. It is renowned as the oldest art market on the island and is situated in a village known for its traditional artists. The market offers a wide array of items such as apparel, jewelry, souvenirs, sculptures, paintings, and more at great bargain prices.
Very authentic area with no tourists. Good souvenirs for good price! Stroll around the area by scooter if searching for rural local life.

Amazing experience in this hotel! I came with my family and we were lucky to find this hidden treasure. The breakfast was delicious and the people are very friendly, they will make you feel like home ❤️. 24 hours service and the locations is perfect.
Saul N — Google review
A good place to buy souvenirs, clothes, knick knack, paintings.... There are 3 floors. The vendors are selling similar items & are often calling out to customers to sell their wares. It's cool & one may shop here & beat the heat. There are shop outside the complex selling prayer items, food, clothes... It closes early. A good place to visit.
Kiran S — Google review
You can accross two market area, in traditional and building area. There so many balinese art, sculpture, paintings you can buy for Oleh-oleh. Its called shopping art destination. Very cheap and recomended.

Friendly, kindly, and always smiling. I love the food and people and dogs here

This marketplace is unique yet speaks to the power of small business enterprise. It is not a place for the faint of heart because you must be willing to take your time and look at the merchandise and try to guard against the pressure you feel from each anxious Seller. It is also challenging because if you’re not used to bargaining, you can be quite confused by the entire process, however, I always am amazed at the quantity of merchandise for sale and feel such compassion for each, and every person manning a stall and looking to sell. I highly recommend this for people who want to avoid this slick and glitzy shops of Ubud

1. Awesome service 2. Huge variety of accessories, T-shirt, shirt, pants and beach outfits. 3. Basement parking lot for cars and bike 4. Lift available 5. 3 stories building 6. Affordable range of prices

A great spot for Balinese handicrafts — they primarily specialize in handmade items, but you can also find good-quality clothing at affordable prices. Just make sure to negotiate for the best deals.

The Ubud Art Market is a bustling hub of Balinese craftsmanship, offering a diverse array of unique items such as handicrafts, batik, accessories, and clothing. Visitors can explore the market's offerings and haggle with vendors for one-of-a-kind souvenirs. It's recommended to compare prices across different stalls, negotiate with sellers, and inquire about the authenticity of goods.
I really enjoyed visiting Ubud Art Market. It's full of colours and I loved walking around and exploring the different stalls, each selling unique handmade decor, bags, coasters, jewellery and souvenirs. Most of the vendors are warm and welcoming. Bargaining made my shopping experience even more exciting! Carry cash!
Neetha A — Google review
Yes, it is geared for tourists and yes, you must haggle but some people like that. We arrived at 11:15 and it was starting to get busy. When we left and hour later it was hopping with people. We started in the building and then to the street market next door. Same stuff, smaller aisles. Ask how much, they name a price, you counter with half, and then the bargaining starts. It's fun and the shop keepers were not pushy at all. Hubby got a t-shirt for 130k and was happy. Warning! Lots of wooden penis on sale. Prep your kids! Across the street from the old Royal Palace.
Robin M — Google review
Most of the prices are 3x the selling price we see at stores in Sanur Harbor. Even if you haggle, you will just be able to haggle it to the original selling price. So don’t buy unless you don’t have time to look elsewhere or want a challenge to haggle until you deem the price is worth the item. We were able to buy some items that I didn’t see in other places like the patched up pants.
Corinne — Google review
A vibrant place full of handicrafts, souvenirs, and Balinese art. Prices can be quite expensive, so make sure you have good bargaining skills. Parking is a bit difficult, but aside from that, it’s a great spot to explore and experience the local atmosphere.
Romie M — Google review
A large market with many similar stalls—it can feel a bit repetitive, as most shops sell the same items. Prices are inflated for tourists, so bargaining is expected, and you can often bring the price down by half or more, which makes it hard to know the real value. While the setting is lively and picturesque, giving you a nice spot to wander if you’re already in the area, it feels more tourist-oriented than authentic. We noticed the same goods being sold in many other parts of Bali, so don’t expect unique local craftsmanship here. Do check out the second floor if you visit, but overall, I wouldn’t return as it lacked originality.
Shivangi G — Google review
Ubud Art Market is a vibrant and colorful place that truly reflects the artistic soul of Bali. Located right in the heart of Ubud, this market is packed with beautiful handmade items — from wooden carvings and rattan bags to batik clothes, paintings, and jewelry. Every corner is filled with creativity and craftsmanship, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves local art and culture. One of the best parts of shopping here is the bargaining experience. The initial price that vendors quote is usually much higher than the actual selling value, so don’t hesitate to negotiate — it’s part of the fun! In many cases, you can get items for half or even one-third of the first price if you bargain politely and with a smile. For example, if something starts at 300,000 IDR, you can often get it for around 100,000 IDR or even less. It’s a great feeling when you walk away with a good deal while supporting local artisans. Just take your time, explore the different stalls, and enjoy the friendly conversations with the sellers. Overall, Ubud Art Market is not just a shopping stop — it’s a cultural experience where your bargaining skills can truly shine!
Dikendra G — Google review
Pretty big market full of souvenirs and clothes. Everyone is happy to bargain, basically the price they tell you at first is always highly overpriced. If the say something cost 300k you can buy it at 150k easily or start bargaining and get it down to 50-100k rupees. Never ever accept initial pricing. We bought a bunch of souvenirs and clothes here. Pricing for the magnets is about +-20k, most of the clothes (tshirts, shorts, etc) you can get at 50-100k.
Ilya L — Google review
An extremely lively market with indoor, outdoor and most adjacent lanes packed with Balinese handicrafts. Hard Bargains are a must since the initial price quoted will always be 2-2.5x higher on most products. Some sellers are quite persistent and will go the whole nine yards to make the sale happen. Many others, won't even bother to negotiate and wave you away. A comparatively higher priced market than other neighborhoods within Bali. Coffee shops are dime a dozen along with money changers here.

Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang is a serene natural spot tucked away in Banjar Wangbung, Gianyar City. The area features pools, waterfalls, and intricately carved rocks formed by water erosion. This picturesque location has gained popularity among photographers for its stunning rock formations and vibrant color gradients. The canyon is surrounded by steep cliffs reaching approximately 30 meters in height, with a bluish river flowing through it.
Actually a great experience if you take the full track. We were lucky to have a very empty trail so no people around that allows to explore in own pace! For the price of the ticket you get the guide (and the photographer), the lunch, bag for cloths, a towel (and shower to use after) and water, also the swing (in the last canyon) is amazing experience! Loved it

It was a really nice experience🤩some Kind of adventure with some really beautiful spots and Views. Impressive, fantastic. The track through the 3 canyons was Sometimes challenging but not too difficult. With rocks, through the water and a little bit climbing. Awesome. You need the right footwear. You have a Guide who leads you through the canyons. Our Guide was very gentile, helpful, and Always Take Care of us. Thank you very much Rawan. And you have made some nice Pictures. Was a very good experience!

Visiting **Hidden Canyon Beji Guwang** near Ubud was one of the most unforgettable experiences during my trip — definitely a 5-star adventure! The canyon is absolutely stunning, with towering rock walls shaped by nature over thousands of years and a clear river running through the narrow passages. It truly feels like discovering a secret world hidden deep in the jungle. The trek through the canyon was both exciting and refreshing. Some parts require climbing, wading through water, and holding onto the rocks, but the local guides were amazing — very professional, friendly, and patient. They made sure everyone stayed safe while still having fun and taking incredible photos along the way. The natural beauty here is breathtaking — sunlight streaming through the trees, the sound of the river echoing off the stone walls, and the cool water around your feet make the whole experience feel peaceful and adventurous at the same time. Facilities at the entrance are well-maintained, with clean showers, lockers, and a small café for refreshments after the trek. Overall, **Hidden Canyon Ubud** is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. It’s not just a sightseeing spot — it’s a journey into Bali’s wild beauty. Highly recommended for those who love a bit of exploration and stunning scenery!

Amazing place, must visit if you like walks in the nature. A bit of healthy challenge for adults and kids above 7y/o (for younger kids may be difficult). It took us approximately 1,5-2h. Food in the cafe, included in the ticket, was above expectations😜

What an unforgettable experience! I went on this adventure with my 13-year-old daughter, and we had an absolute blast exploring the Hidden Canyon. Our guide, Resmob, was simply amazing – super friendly, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. It felt like he knew every single rock by name! The water was unusually high the day we went, which made parts of the trail a bit more challenging, but Resmob guided us safely and confidently the whole way. One of the best parts? We had the entire canyon to ourselves! Not a single other person in sight – just us, nature, and our awesome guide. It felt like our own secret jungle adventure. Resmob also took tons of great photos of us along the way, which was such a lovely bonus. I went barefoot (which was fine), but my daughter wore swim shoes, and I’d definitely recommend bringing them for extra comfort. The scenery was stunning – wild, raw, and so beautiful. We spotted one spider, a couple of dragonflies, and about half a million caterpillars. The trail ends with a peaceful walk through rice terraces, and afterwards, you get a clean towel, a shower, and a meal. Perfect way to wrap it all up! Totally worth it. Highly recommend this hidden gem if you’re up for a little adventure and a lot of natural beauty!

It was a strange experience starting from the entrance. Upon arrival, I got 6-8 security who were annoying and very rude. I just reached the places , and they were making noises, signaling, shoutit. Perhaps, got overexcited I left my bike and walked away for about 10m, to take a picture of the surroundings. They started to shout, yelling, with all the lovely body gestures. On the other hand, since it was hot , they would come to me, so that's was very irritating. I came back, one of them came over and before he said something, I added: if you were calling me this way, it's very rude and I'm not a dog So the guy repeated with a smile: *yes , you are a dog*. I was stupid enough to continue. The entrance is 300k, If you have a local kitas -its 260k Strange discount, but they didn't give you a receipt. Which is a very strange. I asked how long is the trip and etc. The said 3 hours . I asked about of that's just a walk: *no, it's some water activity* So I asked : *like a rafting? Yes yes, boat . Actually, it's a 2 hour 2 walk, in a slippery canyon. And its generaly not easy but because my guide didn't speak English, I couldn't check anything. Like :* how deep, any stones , etc He only knows who to say *careful, careful, careful. So it's not suitable for families with kids and generally, I wouldn't say I will advise to anyone to go there . The package comes with a free meal and you can choose. The food is not great of course but it's understandable, it's free. No English - that's quite common for the area but of course, when it involves selling, explaining, or safety - well, it's making it all way too much complicated So I didn't like it even Abit

We had so much fun and lucky to have the whole canyon to ourselves. Thank you so much to our Guide Wayan who ensure safety and bring us through the 3km canyon. He even direct us to different spot for photo taking. It was a fun experience. Some parts are quite deep and can swim across. Some parts need to climb. All in all its doable to explore the beautiful canyon and walking pass rice padi. Bring water shoes and gloves. Its useful. We booked from Klook and include lunch and transport. Worth it.

Bali Zoo, situated in the cultural Gianyar Regency, is a large zoo that offers a unique experience as the only Balinese-owned private zoo on the island. It opened in 2002 and is licensed by the Ministry of Forestry and government conservation institute. The zoo spans 12 acres and features a variety of animals including orangutans, elephants, African lions, and more. Visitors can enjoy interactive encounters with the animals as well as shows during their visit.
Bali Zoo was such a wonderful experience for our family! 🦓🦒🐘 The zoo is very clean, well-organized, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery. We loved how close we could get to the animals — feeding elephants and deer was a highlight for the kids! The staff were friendly and always ready to help, making the whole visit smooth and enjoyable. There are also plenty of shows and interactive programs, so it’s not just about walking around but really engaging with the animals. We also enjoyed the cafes and resting areas inside, which made the visit even more comfortable. Overall, Bali Zoo is a great place to spend a half or full day, especially for families with children. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Bali! 🌴✨

We visited Balizoo on the 2/10/25. This was a wonderful all day experience. The open spaces for the animals gives reassurance that they are well cared for. Each animal having their own story told via the zoo wardens. We fed and rode the elephants, being able to get up close and personal with them was a great experience.Rahning and Adi were our guides for the Behind Closed Doors tour. Both are very good communicators, are knowledgeable about the individual animals, their back stories… Both Rahning and Adi were very engaging, confident and reassuring, they both enriched our experience at Balizoo. Thank you to everyone at Balizoo for making a wonderful experience for us.🫶

I really enjoyed my time here. I went around midday on a Wednesday and there were very few people there. They had large roped areas for lines for tickets and the shuttle - however I never had to line up. Everything was smooth. I thought it would be super hot, but they’ve done a great job with shaded footpaths. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. All the enclosures felt well cared for and clean. A highlight for me was feeding the Lemurs! For 200k you could feed them. They had someone who could take photos of you using your own phone (great for me as I was alone). I wish they had a clear schedule for feeding times so you know when they are doing it. I just happened to show up at the right time There are plenty of food options with both restaurants and snack shops.

We had so much fun at the Bali Zoo! We purchased the combo package that included the Elephant Expedition and the Behind Closed Doors tour. It was wonderfully organized and we have memories to last us a lifetime! Our guides Rahning and Angga were amazing 🤩. They were very informative, funny, and interactive with the people on the tour. They separated the tour into small groups so you weren’t on it with too many people. It worked out great! We even got to go to the tiger and lion cages to feed them food! 😱 this is a must-do when visiting Bali, 10/10 recommend!

We had an amazing day at Bali Zoo. The place is spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with lots of greenery. The animals look well taken care of and the enclosures are well maintained. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We especially loved the animal encounters – feeding the elephants and deer was such a fun experience. Perfect place to visit with kids, very educational and enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit when in Bali!

I absolutely loved the Bali Zoo! It was an experience unlike any other that I have ever had and I have been going to the zoo since I was a kid. I’ve been to the zoo in California, Amsterdam, New Jersey, And other places and this was one the more intimate and beautiful experiences that I can say that I’ve had. I can tell that the people really care for the animals. They are about preserving the species that are endangered and educating people about the animals. I might end up going back before I finish my stay if not I hope these picture ls and videos encourage others to go. I did the Behind Closed Doors experience which allows you to have a light lunch, visit the zoo and then experience the behind the scenes safari where you can feed the lions, tiger, elephants, ostrich, and several other animals and learn about the operations of the zoo and the animals. They use positive reinforcement at the zoo which I also liked and makes me happy as an animal lover and lover of nature and living things. I’m giving this experience and destination 5 stars for the zoo and staff not for the life lunch provided lol that’s all I will say there. They are a zoo not a 5 star restaurant but where there is Bintang beer in Bali I’m happy 🤷🏾‍♀️🫶🏾🙌🏾❤️😍

We had a great time at Bali Zoo! The place is clean, well kept, and surrounded by beautiful greenery. The highlight was definitely feeding the deer and elephants such a fun and memorable experience. Tegenungan Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder nestled in the heart of Bali, just a short drive from Ubud. This picturesque waterfall cascades through lush jungle surroundings, creating an idyllic setting for visitors. While it’s one of the most popular waterfalls on the island and can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, visiting early in the morning offers a more tranquil experience before the crowds arrive. The area features shallow bathing spots perfect for cooling off and several nearby cafes that enhance its vibrant atmosphere.
This is a must-see if you're in the area! The trail to the falls is a moderate 1.5-mile hike with some beautiful scenery along the way. The waterfall itself is stunning, with a powerful flow, especially after a recent rain. The spray feels amazing on a hot day. Make sure you wear good hiking boots and get there early, as the parking lot fills up quickly on weekends. The way towards is waterfall makes you more and more eager to reach there. Sound of the water can be heard from far away. Restaurants and cafes available nearby. Too many scenic and photo oriented spots here. We loved the place. At the entry point, some sort of tatoos are stamped on our hands. A beautiful nature spot indeed.
Chinmay K — Google review
Fall is good but quite far away from the viewpoint. No proper way except hiking to reach near the fall and enjoy at the fullest. You need to be fit to roam around. Facilities need to be elevated in the area for a better experience

I have been there before social media era and after social media era, I have seen the changes, plus and minus but this place still good places to visit if you stay around Ubud and wanted to see waterfall near by so this waterfall could be wise choice, please try to swim under temple fountain waters it's so good there
Viktor W — Google review
Nice scenic view of the waterfall and the nearby Glass Bridge. There's a hotel overlooking the waterfall and some shallow water for swimming. Getting down to the river is a steep descend and after that you need to climb back to the top. The height of each step is a stretch and not suitable for the elderly, children and people with mobility issues.
Simon O — Google review
I visited Tegenungan Waterfall during my time in Bali, and it was a beautiful and refreshing experience. The waterfall itself is stunning — powerful, scenic, and surrounded by lush greenery that makes for an incredible backdrop. Whether you’re standing at the bottom taking in the full force of the falls or viewing it from higher up along the pathways, it’s a sight that really captures the natural beauty Bali is known for. There are multiple viewing points and photo opportunities, so you can take your time exploring and snapping pictures along the way. The walk down to the waterfall does require navigating stairs and some uneven areas, so be prepared for a bit of a workout — especially when you’re making your way back up. But the views and the sound of the rushing water are worth the effort. The surrounding area has also been built up with cafes, swings, and little spots to sit and take in the scenery, so you can make it a nice relaxed visit if you want to stay a while. It can get crowded, especially during peak times, but even with other visitors around, the atmosphere still feels peaceful and enjoyable. Overall, Tegenungan Waterfall is a beautiful stop for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone wanting a little adventure paired with gorgeous scenery. If you’re exploring the Ubud area, it’s definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Latisha D — Google review
Great waterfall and pool below that you can swim in. Place gets very over crowded with tourists so the price of things is a bit high. Lots of steps so be prepared.
Mathew L — Google review
Nice place to visit.. Waterfall is downside with 150-200 steps but too natural there. No change space but privately they offer to change clothes by charges. There is temple too and one pond for holy bath too.
Dr.Hardik R — Google review
This is a quiet and beautiful waterfall in Bali. There is no waiting time, and you can park your vehicle near the entrance and buy your ticket there. There are about 90 to 100 steps, but the walk is easy even for people who are not very fit. At the bottom, there is a club with a pool. The club has a lift inside. So if you don’t want to climb the steps back up, you can go through the club and use the lift. Not sure if there is any extra charge for using it. The falls water is only knee-deep, so it is safe for everyone. You can relax, walk around, or enjoy the water up to the rope. If you want to swim, bring a change of clothes. It’s a calm and relaxing place to enjoy nature.

Ubud Palace, located on the famous Monkey Forest Road, is a must-visit destination in Bali. The palace features traditional Balinese architecture and hosts enchanting dance performances in its courtyard. Surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Bali. With its vibrant atmosphere and captivating performances, Ubud Palace provides an immersive experience for visitors looking to soak up Balinese culture.
We paid about $6.00 to get in, and overall, this was a pretty cool first stop to experience some Balinese history and temple architecture. The palace grounds give you a quick glimpse into traditional Balinese culture, but it’s definitely more of a short visit — About 15 minutes is enough to see most of it. The location is convenient, right across from the Ubud Marketplace and Starbucks, so it’s easy to pair the two experiences together and get some shopping done. The palace itself has beautiful details and feels like a calm pocket of history in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. That said, there are a lot of people visiting, so if you want to take photos, be prepared to wait 15 minutes or more just for a clear shot. Outside, you’ll also find plenty of taxi drivers asking if you need a ride, which can be a little overwhelming. The biggest downside is that there aren’t any public restrooms on-site, since the palace is still someone’s private home — So plan ahead before visiting. For the price, it’s still worth checking out, especially if you’re already exploring central Ubud, but it’s definitely more of a quick stop than an in-depth experience. Pro Tips - Go early in the morning to avoid heavy crowds and get better photo opportunities. - Be prepared for lots of taxi drivers outside offering rides—politely decline if you’re not interested. - No public restrooms are available since it’s still a private residence, so plan bathroom breaks before or after. - Pair your visit with Ubud Market right across the street for a fuller experience.

If you’re already in Ubud, the palace is worth a quick stop, but honestly, there isn’t much to see inside. From a religious and cultural aspect it holds value for the Balinese people, but for tourists it can feel underwhelming—just a few closed doors and crowded pathways in the middle of Ubud’s busy center. You can walk through the grounds in about 3–5 minutes, and the admission during the day is free, which is a plus. The gardens are well maintained, the carvings are beautiful, and the atmosphere carries historic charm. It’s also right in the city center, so convenient if you’re already out shopping or exploring nearby attractions. That said, the real highlight here is in the evening. The palace transforms into a venue for nightly traditional Balinese dance performances such as Legong and Barong. The show costs 100,000 IDR per person (cash only) and is absolutely worth it. The music of the gamelan orchestra, the elaborate costumes, and the graceful movements of the dancers create an enchanting cultural experience. Arrive early—people gather as early as 6:30 pm for good seats, with the performance starting at 7:30. Sitting closer to the front gives the best view, but if you prefer comfort, choose a chair instead of the carpet. Be careful of monkeys in the area—they can be aggressive and snatch belongings if you’re not cautious. Also note, the daytime visit alone isn’t particularly memorable, but the evening performance is where Ubud Palace truly shines. Overall, it’s a well-maintained landmark with historical and cultural importance, but the dance show is the part that makes it worth recommending.

This was our first stop on our Bali trip. We visited the palace and purchased tickets for the Legong of Mahabharata Epic dance show. The palace itself isn’t very big—the part open to visitors is quite small—but it does offer some beautiful photo opportunities and gives you those old Balinese vibes. We came back later in the evening for the show. Outside, you’ll find old ladies selling beers, chips, rain covers, and more. Prices are quoted high, so a little negotiation helps. The show was fantastic. They provide a pamphlet explaining the different dance performances, which is worth reading to better understand what’s happening on stage. The dancers, musicians, and overall performance were excellent. While the show runs for about 1–1.5 hours and might feel a bit long for some, I personally found it really engaging. All in all, Ubud Palace is a must-stop when in Ubud!

We visited Ubud Palace, Bali in November 2024 and loved the experience. The traditional Balinese architectures are stunning, and there are great photo spots throughout. Outside, you’ll find small shops selling local crafts and souvenirs. We were lucky to catch a Balinese festival at that time - with music, offerings, and traditional dress, which made the visit even more special. A beautiful place to explore Balinese culture and heritage. Can add it to your itinerary if you are visiting Ubud.

Very vibrant modern surroundings with ancient energy inside. Place is very small but is full with Dharmic signs and energy. Many statues were covered so it was bit disappointing , it would have been great if all statues were shown to visitors. But full marks to people of Bali for only preserving their Hindu heritage but also living it. Bali has so many things to cover, so it’s not possible in 5 days cover to even cover 25% of places.

Ubud Palace, also known as Puri Saren Agung, is one of the most beautiful and historically rich landmarks in the heart of Ubud. My visit here was truly enchanting — the palace beautifully showcases traditional Balinese architecture with its intricate carvings, golden details, and serene courtyards filled with tropical plants. It’s a perfect place to feel the essence of Balinese culture and royalty. The palace is not very large, but every corner tells a story of heritage and spirituality. The preserved buildings and stone sculptures reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Bali’s golden age. It’s located right in the center of Ubud, close to the art market, making it convenient to explore both in a single visit. I also enjoyed the evening traditional dance performance held in the palace courtyard — it was mesmerizing, with graceful dancers, colorful costumes, and live gamelan music creating an unforgettable experience. Entry to the palace during the day is free, and it’s well maintained with friendly staff who are happy to share information about its history. Visiting at sunset adds a magical glow to the atmosphere. Overall, Ubud Palace is a must-visit cultural gem in Bali — a place that connects you deeply to the island’s artistic soul and royal heritage.
Dikendra G — Google review
We couodnt make in time to see the palace as it closes by 5.30 or 6 but we bought tickets to watch the dance performance at the palace. The dance performance started at 7 and was great. I think they could make it shorter and less costlier than more people will visit and stay throughout the performance.
Prachi C — Google review
Nice place, but crowded. We went there for Legong dance show. It was the first time seeing such a balinese dance, was interesting but since we had to sit on the floor for a good spot it was a bit exhausting to watch it an hour long. We were there half an hour before the show. So if you want to have good seats you should probably be there way earlier

Restaurant
Murni's Warung is a renowned traditional Balinese restaurant located in Ubud, offering stunning hillside views across its four open-air levels. Established over 30 years ago, it has become an iconic name in Bali and was the first restaurant to open in Ubud. Founded by Ni Wayan Murni, the venue has expanded into a comprehensive enterprise including a hotel, spa, and store.
My favourite place when visiting Ubud since 35 years ago. Enjoying the tranquility and the sound of the nature from the river below. The artifacts all over the restaurant are very amazing. The food isn't superb, but the service was always excellent. Pity that they changed the menu into more common dishes.
Advantours — Google review
The food was all pretty good! I especially liked their crispy pork belly and the pork satay—the charred edges made it super crispy and juicy. On a warm but cloudy day, a glass of mint lemon tea hit just right. We were lucky to get a seat without waiting, and the food came out pretty fast. The space wasn’t crowded at all. Highly recommend their Bebek Betutu and crispy pork belly too! 😋

We have been recommended this place and got not disappointed. Getting seated on the lower levels gives you nice views into the green. As they were only few people only level 1 was open. The service was very kind and attentive. The food was really good and we felt that prices were more than fair. Enjoyed our stay at the oldest restaurant of Ubud and would recommend it.

Murni’s Warung is a true gem in Ubud; a place that blends history, hospitality, and exceptional food in a tranquil riverside setting. I first stopped in for lunch one afternoon and was so impressed by the quality and flavour of the food that I returned a few days later with a friend for dinner. In fact, I chose to have my final meal in Ubud and Bali, at Murni’s, which says everything about how much I enjoyed it. The food is easily some of the tastiest I had during my time in Bali. Each dish was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and prepared with care. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality. The staff are attentive and genuinely welcoming, making the whole dining experience relaxed and enjoyable. The location is peaceful, tucked beside the river, offering a calm and scenic escape from the busier parts of town. Even the facilities are spotless; a small but meaningful detail that speaks to the care taken in every aspect of the restaurant. As the very first restaurant in Ubud, Murni’s Warung more than lives up to its legacy. It deserves every bit of recognition it gets and then some. If you're in Ubud, this is one place you absolutely must visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Really nice warung by the ridge. We had some beef rendang and duck these both came with rice. The juices were nice but were a bit too pulpy for me I had to ask the staff to strain one of these because I kept coughing with every sip. Overall though their food tasted amazing and the prices are fair also the view from the restaurant was beautiful. 🤩 The staff are helpful prompt and we really enjoyed our time at murni’s. We weren’t expecting much from the chocolate cake btw but it tasted nice and homemade in a good way and they spiked it with some rum which was nice 👌 I would come back to this place!

My husband and I have been in Bali for five days, and this is the first time we’ve felt inspired to sit down and write a review. The freshness of the ingredients here is outstanding! the spices are incredibly flavorful, and the traditional Balinese food was simply amazing. We shared three main dishes, and every single one was excellent. If you’re looking for an authentic local gastronomical experience, this place is a must!
Laura R — Google review
Apparently, the first restaurant in Ubud. Amazing location on three levels and certainly the Indonesian food on the menu was excellent. I recommend the duck or the chicken. Wine by the glass choice was very limited. The waitresses seemed a bit tired and less friendly than most Balinese restaurants. But still worth a visit!
Nigel D — Google review
Visited closed to 8pm and there’s no crowd, a unique multi storey restaurant with different view due to the way it was built, unfortunately I went after sunset and miss the nice view. The food is nice and traditional, especially the sate that most of us enjoyed. It will sure be the restaurant that I will visit when I’m back to Ubud the next time, to try their other dishes.

Bintang Supermarket Ubud, located on Jalan Sanggingan just north of the main center, is a large and vibrant supermarket offering a wide range of products. The open warehouse-style layout provides ample space for an extensive selection of items including toys, snacks, kitchen essentials, beverages, medications, fresh produce, souvenirs and household goods. The first floor primarily features food items and fresh produce while the upper level offers stationery and clothing options.
Good supermarket with mostly everything you need. Currently under renovation and I'm not sure what the outside is going to look like, but it's split into two stores at the moment with food one side and non-food the other (tissues, toothpaste, insect spray, hair care, etc). Friendly staff and helpful when needed.

A good store with everything you need, delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. A large selection of tea, drinks. Also many ingredients for cooking meat and fish, there are semi-finished products for heating

Probably the only supermarket in Ubud that offers the full range of healthy foods, including organic fruits and vegetables. The service is excellent – friendly and fast. Prices are reasonable. Honestly, it’s a real pleasure to shop there! Right next to it, there’s also a home goods section. A wide selection as well, everything you really need.

So happy that Bintang Supermarket Ubud is back — and it truly feels better than ever! The new store looks beautiful, spacious, and well organized, yet it still keeps that warm, local “Bintang” feeling that everyone loves. The product selection is excellent — from fresh local produce, imported groceries, to bakery items, snacks, and daily essentials. Prices are fair, and the layout makes shopping easy and enjoyable. The staff are friendly, polite, and always ready to help, which really makes the whole experience feel welcoming.

The cashiers are picky about their customers. They serve international customers kindly and friendly, while local customers or other store employees are served without a smile.Worse, they didn't even say THANK YOU to me. Do you have to spend hundreds of thousands to be served well?
Ni W — Google review
As on October 2025, the market premises is undergoing renovations with more stores coming up. There is plenty of parking inside. The Bintang supermarket itself is very big with fresh produce to frozen meats, to condiments and liquor. There's another smaller store beside it where they store home improvements and self-care items.

Love this place for grabbing the essentials and more in a supermarket. Great bath and kitchen essentials section and prices aren’t crazy for things that are imported. Only thing that I don’t enjoy is the random workers who hang out on certain aisles and try to convince me to buy products. Even after you tell them you are just looking they hang around like you may change your mind suddenly and need their wisdom. Nonetheless it is the best one stop shop for everything so I deal with it 😆

Nestled in the heart of Ubud, Wayan's Shop is a treasure trove for anyone seeking authentic Balinese artifacts crafted by local artisans. The shop boasts an impressive selection of unique items, including stunning Balinese masks and intricately designed statues that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. Visitors rave about the friendly staff who are eager to share insights into the meanings behind various deity statues, enhancing your shopping experience with their knowledge.
Wayan Shop is always my go to whenever I'm looking for silver jewelry or traditional Balinese masks. I really appreciate their silver craftsmanship and refined aesthetic, it consistently features elegant, royal designs at fair prices. After browsing many shops, I found their masks to be of the highest quality. The intricate carvings and, especially, the harmonious color combinations set them apart from typical souvenir stores. Their traditional Balinese masks are crafted with remarkable attention to detail. I spoke with the shopkeeper and learned that they use authentic paints the same ones used in Balinese temples. That’s why the gold, in particular, has a unique richness that you won’t find elsewhere. They also offer a wide range of quality antique items, all curated with exceptional taste. If you're looking for something truly special, this shop is a must-visit. The shopkeeper is also very knowledgeable and friendly, which adds to the great experience.

A beautiful artifact store in Ubud, with an extensive collection with unique pieces we couldn’t find anywhere else in Bali! We were looking for Raam and Sita masks along with a Shiva statue (see pictures for what we ended up buying) and while we could find many options for the latter, Wayan’s shop had a huge and well curated collection to choose from! The pieces here are high quality and unique making it a one stop shop for all artifact shopping. Highly recommend if you’re looking to purchase unique Balinese artifacts!

I meant to write this months ago when i was holidaying in Ubud, but then forgot, but the service and shop was so lovely that I'm still thinking about it. It really stood out. If you are looking for authentic pieces that are quality rather than mass produced, then this is the place. I got a carved egg hand painted by a local artist, and I treasure it. There are so many truly beautiful peices there. The people are also very knowledgeable and kind, which makes it a very enjoyable to visit.

I cannot recommend this shop enough! My partner has visited Bali many times and bought a beautiful wall hanging mask he was in love with for years, so he took me to show where he bought it from. I’d seen many similar masks throughout some shops but the quality and skill that comes from this shop is indistinguishable from the others. This family run business is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful kind service (the man that spoke to us explained the process of how they are made, sanded and painted by three different people to make the final beautiful product) I wish I had saved more money so I could had purchased one, but will definitely be back to buy the one I fell in love with. Highly recommend buying from this shop instead of others as the quality difference is insane, they are 100% worth the prices ! (Also recommend following them on instagram as their feed is absolutely gorgeous and you can purchase products when you are back home with free shipping if you’re like me and didn’t prepare to buy one when you arrived @wayanshopubud ) I’d just like to thank the man I spoke to as he was so kind, happy I wanted to take photos and his passion for the art was beautiful and made me fall in love with the culture even more. Please never stop making these as they are timeless and a treasure to the world x

I had such a wonderful experience at this souvenir shop in Bali. The shop is run by a family, and they were incredibly professional, polite, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. They took the time to explain the stories behind their products and made me feel very welcome. What stood out most was the uniqueness of their items—you can tell they’ve put thought and care into curating pieces that you won’t easily find elsewhere. It was more than just shopping; it felt like a warm, authentic encounter with Balinese culture. Highly recommended!

The staff is very kind, and the shop is filled with beautiful statues — definitely not mass-produced items. They also help explain the meanings of the different deity statues. We visited the entire Ubud Art Market, and this place had the most reasonable prices. I can only recommend it. It’s absolutely worth stopping by. They wrapped our purchase with great care, and you can pay by card as well. They even gave us a small discount as a kind gesture. Thank you so much for your kindness!

Dinata Shop is a unique souvenir store located in Ubud, offering a refreshing change from the typical artifacts found in other shops. Unlike traditional art galleries, this shop focuses on contemporary pieces rather than antiques. Visitors can find one-of-a-kind items like sandstone Sumba statuettes that are not commonly seen elsewhere in Bali. However, it's important to note that its location on the map may be incorrect, as it is actually further down the street.
Great souvenir shop in Ubud in that it stocks items other than run-of-the-mill artefacts found in other 'art galleries' in town. Not so much about antiques as contemporary objets d'art. I bought a pair of sandstone Sumba statuettes, the likes of which I had not seen anywhere else in Bali.

Bali Buda is a true classic. At first, we only stopped by to shop at the market, but recently we tried the café — and now I want to come back 1–2 times a week! Everything I’ve eaten here has been both delicious and light. I especially love the balance of vegetables in their bowls, the tasty sandwiches (being able to choose your bread is a nice touch), and their apple crumble cake, which I can never resist. And the Bali coffee is simply amazing — full of flavor, smooth, and never heavy, even if you drink a lot. Also the mint lemonade is a must try. I feel the café deserves a higher rating than some reviews suggest, but of course, taste is personal. For me, it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Ubud. Plus, you can always find your favorite products — and many more healthy options — in their mini market afterward.

Worst and dishonest food stand in the market! DONT EAT THERE. We went to the market to have a good and humble local food experience that quickly became a dishonest situation where the lady owner (there are 2 ladies working there) asked us for 100.000rp for 2 babi guling with 0 meat on it, it was basically guts and bone. Attention that this plate normally costs 25.000 rp max! So we understood that we were being scammed. Also, she started laughing when we accepted, so the attitude said it all. The market itself is small and doesn't have price in the menus... so good luck It's sad that these things happen as we support the locals consistently, and these type of dishonest people just put down a cultural experience that we want to support. I won't recommend going to that market or food stand - remember 2 ladies with a pig (that must be days open).

A very well maintained place. The monkeys here are usually not aggressive and are camera friendly. It closes at 5 PM.

What a great place to visit...cheeky monkeys everywhere, helpful staff. Wander around and interact with the monkeys but hold on to your belongings, they'll pinch them from you if they get a chance....loved it
Gavin B — Google review
It’s very small (we spent less than 15 minutes walked the circle in there). The best spot to observe the monkeys are in front of the temple. I also enjoy the spontaneous scene of the staff feeding a monkey.

So beautiful and you see so many monkeys! Be careful not to get too close as they will snatch your things. I saw a women’s clip get stolen. There is an entrance fee. When you are inside if the staff ask to take a photo for you expect to pay them afterwords

The Monkey Forest in Bali is definitely worth a visit! The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained, making it a great place to walk and explore. You’re guaranteed to see plenty of monkeys up close – it’s both fascinating and fun to watch them in their natural habitat. The entrance fee is very affordable, especially for what you get in return. A unique and memorable experience that shouldn’t be missed while in Bali!

In Ubud, art enthusiasts should make sure to visit Threads of Life, an artisan gallery that focuses on preserving traditional Indonesian textiles and weaving techniques. This unique store showcases handmade pieces crafted by local artists using centuries-old methods, offering visitors the chance to purchase one-of-a-kind souvenirs while supporting indigenous communities and their vanishing crafts.
This is like a mini museum of textiles. High quality woven textile from across Indonesian on display as well as some accessories and baskets. Price point is higher and is a reflection of the quality. There are also workshops available for those who are interested. Staff are friendly and welcomed us to look around. They were also not pushy at all to sell.
Noelle N — Google review
Ubud is home to many beautiful boutiques, but Threads of Life stands out as more than just a standard gallery. They go above and beyond to promote and support traditional Indonesian textiles and natural dye production—an important and often underserved area. As a big fan of their work, I can personally attest to the craftsmanship and authenticity of the pieces offered at Threads of Life. It's worth noting that each purchase is truly one-of-a-kind, resulting from years of relationship-building with indigenous communities across Indonesia. This approach has provided stable income for these artisans, allowing them to continue weaving and pass their wisdom to future generations. Even better, Threads of Life offers wonderful hands-on classes at their Dye Studio in Petulu. Set amidst nature, their open studio and half-day batik classes are my personal favorites! I'd like to extend a big thank you to Ibu Tutut and Meri for their incredible service. They took the time to explain each beautiful textile and patiently answered all of my questions. If you're interested in Indonesian textiles and supporting sustainable craftsmanship, Threads of Life is definitely worth a visit during your time in Ubud!

Beautiful little shop in the middle of the market lined streets. It is not your average souvenir shop, the Threads of Life initiative raises awareness and provides an in depth look into the unique handcrafting techniques which have been held for years by local artisans in Bali and neighbouring islands. If you are interested in supporting local artisans and keen on getting your hands on one of a kind pieces, do stop by the store and speak to the highly knowledgeable staff who are happy to advise on any queries. Note, you are paying for products which have been produced meticulously by the skilled artists. Please respect the time taken and take into consideration that prices are higher in comparison to what you will typically find outside on the market stalls.

STUNNING! I wonderful small business supporting ancestral craft in Indonesia. This business helps local artisans to thrive. Really beautiful shop operating almost like a museum. I took a Batik Indigo workshop at the Threads of Life Dye studio and it was a really enriching experience. It's not easy finding access to these types of traditions and knowledges so it's a really special experience to learn how the indigo is made and practice batik! Also the workshop area is a beautiful workspace with a garden full of plants they use to harvest for the dyes!

The store offers a wide range of batik and ikat homeware, ceramics, and more in four large spaces filled with high-quality products. While the prices may be on the higher side compared to other places in Indonesia, it's worth considering as a way to support the local economy.
I thought they have a small shop then when we enter it ... It has 2 storey building inside, all are handmade batik from local artisan in Bali, and they use natural coloring which mostly indigo color and brownish color. I love this place

I used to love this place a few years ago. It was great quality cotton and a good handmade technique. I visited this February, having saved up to buy some clothing but was SO DISAPPOINTED to find that the kimono/beach wear was now made in very cheap loose weave cotton (not beautiful fine woven like before) and some of the designs look printed. As a textile artist I value paying for high quality clothing that will last for years. Now it looks like cheap materials- but the same high price. It doesn’t look like this cloth will last long after a few washes. It’s already very thin. I wonder why you have chosen to devalue your lovely brand in this way. I looked forward so much to buying some things from you- but the clothing is so low quality cloth now. I’m so sad.

To stay at Honeymoon Guesthouse has been a dream of mine for more than a decade, and I finally fulfilled that wish! The rooms are set in an actual Balinese compound with statuary from across Indonesia I believe. On site daily cooking classes, twice daily yoga, along with a lovely spa and pool, a cafe with lattes + jamu, make this a literal heaven on earth. Like most hotels and restaurants, the service is impeccable, but the value is extraordinary! I used the free hotel shuttle several times and the rooms include a very generous breakfast with several options, both comfort food and healthy fare.
Kim H — Google review
So expensive for ONE WASH!!! The textile review from 2 weeks prior says a lot. Gorgeous designs on fabrics and unique patterned sewing but this “cotton” feels like cheap rayon. I love the design but fear it’s not going to last. I doubt the quality will last one wash or handwashing. Avoid purchasing beachwear unless you’re going to buy to sew the design.

Farmers' market
The Morning Market in Ubud is a must-visit for an authentic market experience. It's best to arrive early, around 6 am, to witness the bustling Balinese cultural scene and get the best produce before it sells out. The market offers a glimpse into the true essence of Ubud, away from the nighttime frenzy. Local farmers bring fresh crops and tropical fruits at better prices than grocery stores. Haggling is encouraged for a more immersive experience.
Fresh fruits, vegetables, delicious and fresh tempeh (wrapped in banana leaves), and beautiful fresh flowers. I recommend going early in the morning.

Experience from Ubud, foreigners crowds, some like bargaining prices, some are tired of it. Fruits, accessories, decorations and snacks. If you do not crowds avoid it

It is worth visiting if you want to have a taste of where the locals shop. It starts really early and finishes by 8am, It is along the main street as well as at the underground part of the new market building. You can try all the local food and get a feel of how locals get their groceries and flowers for their daily offerings. We really enjoyed it, highly recommend.
Andrea K — Google review
Morning market is always such a wild, crazy, exciting and hectic Balinese cultural experience! All the best produce is gone by 7:30 am so get there as early as you can. 6am is best. The local farmers bring their crops and beautiful tropical fruit to sell and better prices than any grocery store, including Bingtangs. Also, my local tip for you is haggle as much as you can. Never pay the price that's asked. Always try to get yourself the best deal, because there is a local price and a 'white' tourist price. Don't let anyone rinse you.
Sasha N — Google review
Cudnt get local price 😕 there are many other morning markets nearby for local price. Open and well busy around 5:30. Wonderful to see!
Miyo D — Google review
Like the other reviewer said, Google has listed it at the wrong location. It's connected to the underground parkade of the new Art Market. See the photos I attached to find the entrance. If you can't find it, ask how to get down to the parkade/ garage. It's connected to it.

Hendrik N — Google review
A very local market with people selling their produce at the local market, you are free to barter the prices but you don’t get much time as it is very busy after 7. A huge variety of fresh produce as well as local items such as teas, spices, incense and sarongs. Can get very overwhelming with the crowds and scents and parking is busy. They will charge you a small fee for parking 5K

Bali Yoga Shop, situated in Ubud on Jalan Hanoman, is a haven for yoga enthusiasts. The store offers a wide array of high-quality yoga apparel for both men and women. In addition to stylish and comfortable yoga garments, the shop also features trendy clothing items celebrating style and femininity. Moreover, they offer an assortment of tropically-inspired accessories.
I had a wonderful experience shopping at the Bali Yoga Shop in Ubud and at The Yoga Barn. I purchased quite a few items, and everything has been beautiful quality. I did have a small issue with one pair of pants, and the team was absolutely amazing about it. Not only did they replace the pants, they also let me keep the original pair, which had developed some pilling due to friction from a bag I’d also purchased from them. Once we figured out the bag’s rubber detail was the cause, they took full responsibility and kindly replaced my pants without hesitation. Love these pants. The quality of their products is fantastic, and their customer service truly went above and beyond. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, even when language was a little bit of a barrier at times. I’m so happy with the service and how warmly I was treated. Highly recommend shopping here if you’re in Ubud!

The best yoga shop in Ubud, which is partly owned by the Yoga Barn management. This double shop along Hanumam Road is close to all the spiritual, art & craft, and other popular Ubud businesses. You tend to see more spiritual tourists around here as well. The shop sells a bit of everything related to Yoga, and prices are quite reasonable. They have a good selection of yoga clothes & books. If you're into Yoga, this is one of the places you can check our in Ubud.

Bali Yoga Shop, offers a diverse array of yoga-related products that cater to enthusiasts seeking quality gear. Stepping into the store, I was greeted by a well-curated selection of items, showcasing a commendable variety. While the shop boasts an impressive range, it's worth noting that the prices tend to lean slightly towards the pricey side. This became more apparent when my friend purchased a set of tarot cards, only to discover the same item at a significantly lower price just down the road. It left us questioning the overall value for money. Navigating to the shop also proved to be a bit confusing. Despite being dropped off where the Grab map indicated the shop's location, it took an unexpected detour of walking back up the road for about 5 minutes to actually spot it. A small inconvenience, but worth considering for those relying on accurate location information. On a positive note, the lady on duty was incredibly helpful, offering insights into the various products and creating a pleasant shopping experience. Despite the initial confusion and the price hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed perusing the shop's offerings and found the ambiance to be inviting. It's a worthwhile stop for those on a quest for yoga-centric treasures.

Dishonest, poor quality, expensive. Stay away. I purchased 2 yoga mats expecting good quality, because I paid a fortune and because this is 'Bali Yoga Shop' after all. As soon as I got home I opened the packages to find that one of the mats was covered in fungus. "It's an anomaly" I thought as the other mat was not covered in fungus. Get ready for this: When we tried out the mats, we slipped and slided all over the place. Truly bad quality. I have since found out that a friend also purchase one and has had the same trouble. These mats are so bad you can't do yoga on them unless you use a towel, because you slip and slide EVEN if you are not sweaty! I understand that people can have bad luck when they create a new resource, so before writing this review, I wrote to the shop to explain the issue and to request a refund. I was expecting them to ask for the mats back, and to swap with ones that do work, or to give me a refund. Additionally, they could use my experience to learn from and to request a change from their factory for future mats. Unfortunately, after ignoring my message for a few weeks, they then decided to tell me I was requesting a refund too late. They were sorry, and it was my luck. Karma will not be impressed with you, Bali Yoga Shop.

I purchased a pair of earrings from the store and immediately put them on. Unfortunately, they were very uncomfortable and I returned them never having left the store. I am fairly certain I was told off by the cashier, as prior to the exchange she spoke to me in polite English, while during and after the exchange, she spoke in angry Indonesian. Although I didn't understand what was said, it was clear she was insulting me. I do not recommend shopping at this store. Bali is full of lovely people; buy from them.

Dear Biasa Team, I recently visited your Biasa Ubud store around 3 pm this afternoon intending to make a purchase. I politely asked one of your staff members if they could move a staff motorbike to allow me to park my car properly. Unfortunately, the response was rude, as she told me to move the motorbike myself. This was surprising and not the level of customer service I expected, especially for a premium brand like yours. As a result, I decided not to proceed with my purchase. I have been a regular customer at your stores in Jakarta and Bali, including Ubud (you can check my name in your system), and this experience was quite unusual. Additionally, the sales lady asked, “Sir, what do you want to do?” in a rather impolite manner. Shouldn’t a sales assistant begin with a proper greeting, as is customary? The interaction felt unwelcoming and quite disrespectful. I also noticed similar complaints in Google reviews about the treatment from your Ubud staff, and basic courtesy is essential when selling premium products. Hope this feedback helps prevent similar issues for other customers. Thank you
Boetje . — Google review
Love the quality of their garments. I visited the seminiyak store and the service was impeccable. However the service in their Ubud store was pretty unpleasant. I went in to buy some clothes and a bag and the unfriendly lady walked over to inform me of the price as if she thinks I can't afford it (I didn't ask for the price). A little tip to improve the customer service - if your customers wants to buy your items without asking for the price, it clearly means they can afford it. Again, love this brand and quality. However shame on the sales lady.
Fon C — Google review
I have always adored Biasa’s art and fashion sense, and I am a returning customer at their Ubud store. Initially, the staff was very helpful—I purchased a few items, but the pants in my size and preferred color needed to be transferred from Seminyak. They took my WhatsApp number to notify me when the item arrived, and I agreed to pay the delivery fee in advance, regardless of whether I ultimately decided to buy the pants. A few hours later, the item arrived at the store. I appreciated their effort, tried on the pants, and agreed to proceed with the purchase. However, at the cashier, the staff informed me that due to heavy rain, there was a price increase. I asked, "Is this because I like the pants, so you’re raising the price?" They explained that the delivery fee had increased due to the rain. I felt misled. They could have informed me about the additional fee earlier instead of surprising me at checkout. It’s disappointing to encounter such practices from a brand known for its unique designs—especially when staff seem to exploit tourists for a few extra dollars. I hope management addresses this issue and takes appropriate action. Thank you for reading my comment!

It’s really hard for me to write a negative review because I truly appreciate the uniqueness of Paul Ropp's clothes. However, I’m very disappointed with the customer support experience I’ve had, which has unfortunately left me without the dress I was so eager to buy. I tried on an S-size dress in Ubud, but it was too big. Since my villa doesn’t have an address here, I wanted to order the XS to the shop during the 30% sale. I reached out via WhatsApp to confirm the 14-day return option, as I was unsure how the XS would fit and wanted reassurance before ordering. Initially, I received polite responses, but communication soon stopped entirely despite my attempt to follow up. Their last response was that the XS would require a special order, which could only be processed after the 20th. This wasn’t mentioned on the website, leaving me confused about how to proceed. Despite asking for clarification, I received no further replies (it’s been over a week, and I can see that they are online on WhatsApp daily), and the sale is now ending. I’ve attached screenshots to this review to provide full context for my experience. I really loved the dress and wanted to treat myself, but this lack of communication and transparency has been very disappointing. I hope improvements can be made to ensure better support and clarity for future customers.

Bandem Silver offers a unique silver jewelry making experience in Bali. Guests are welcomed into Made's beautiful home and provided with traditional Balinese clothing to wear while learning about the spiritual Balinese gods and receiving a blessing. The class is led by expert silversmith Wayan, who guides participants in creating their own unique piece of jewelry. Visitors also have the opportunity to engage with the owners, Made and his father, learning about Balinese culture and religion.
I bought beautiful hand made silver and mother of pearl earrings in Bali. The lady and her husband were such lovely, friendly people. Seemed very kind and genuine. The silver is beautifully made and each piece is unique. A wonderful treasure to have to remind me of my holiday in Bali.
Caroline M — Google review
My boyfriend and I made matching rings with the help of their crew. We spent an amazing time discovering the Balinese culture and exchanging about their beautiful craft. We even got to visit their family temple! It was a wonderful experience. If you’re looking for a traditional silver class in Bali I would highly recommend you book with them!
Snoctal — Google review
A fantastic afternoon of jewellery making with a lovely family and their very patient jeweller colleague. A community enterprise sharing Balinese culture with enthusiasm. So glad we escaped the intensity of Ubud and were able share in the peaceful home with beutiful temple.

We had such a lovely encounter at Bandem silver! My boyfriend wanted to buy a thin silver necklace so that is why we came here last week. Next to finding a nice necklace we ended up having great conversations with the owner and his son, Made. Very inspiring to learn more about the Balinese culture and religion. Made and his father were so welcoming and kind to us which made me/us feel happy and inspired when we left. We will definitely come back here if we are in the area. Highly recommend to stop by and visit Bandem silver, they also do really great classes. You will leave happy, with new knowledge and inspiration. Thank you to Made and your dad! 🤍✨

Highly recommend you take this class! This was by far my favourite part of my one month trip at Bali! The class itself was very fun and hands on with the professional help of Made and his colleague we were able to make jewellery we’re both very happy and proud of! Not only that, when we first arrived Made’s dad showed us around their house and house temple, educating us about Balinese culture and religion. It was a really interesting and special experience, and it’s an experience that I will remember and cherish forever!

Great experience, learnt a lot about the Hindu culture and the backgrounds of where the jewellery making originated from. Made a lovely ring with the help of the hosts who were so accommodating and paid special attention to the detail in the ring! Definitely would recommend taking a class at Bandem silver!

If you are looking for high quality silver jewelry, UC Silver Gold is the perfect place to go. They have a large variety of options, and their prices are reasonable. Plus, their security is top-notch. If you're not sure what you want, the staff can help you find the perfect piece.
UC Silver Gold is more than just a jewelry store — it's a full silver and gold crafting experience. The craftsmanship is incredible, with intricate designs that reflect Balinese culture. You can walk through their workshop to see how the jewelry is made by hand, which is fascinating and educational. The showroom is vast, beautifully designed, and filled with stunning pieces ranging from traditional to modern styles. They also have a museum with all types of stones/ gems including from Sri Lanka. A great place for anyone interested in art, design, or a memorable souvenir from Bali.
Dukesheeka J — Google review
Worth a visit — but here’s why I gave it 2 stars. Let me start by saying: this place is absolutely worth seeing. The architecture, sculptures, and museum are stunning — truly a visual experience. Plus, entry is free, which makes it even more appealing. I do recommend stopping by. However, the reason for my 2-star rating is the showroom experience. When my husband and I arrived, we were welcomed into the sales area where jewelry and other items are on display for purchase. While we were politely accompanied by a sales associate (who wasn’t overly pushy in our case), I noticed others nearby being pressured to buy. The prices were extremely high — significantly more than anything else I’ve seen in Bali. It felt like the cost of the building and presentation was baked into the price tags, rather than reflecting the true value of the pieces themselves. Before visiting UC, I did some research on Bali silver and found that Celuk is the go-to village for authentic silversmiths. I visited several local workshops in Celuk where I could see the craftsmanship up close. The jewelry I found there was not only more beautiful and unique, but also a fraction of the cost. Special mention to Sun Silver, Dewi Souvenir, and Semadi Gold and Silver — their service and artistry were outstanding. I highly encourage anyone interested in buying silver to visit a few independent workshops in Celuk first. Then, if you still want to visit UC, go for the architecture and cultural experience — not the shopping. Photos below are my husband and I at the museum at UC. The jewelry is from other shops aforementioned.

The expression is strikingly beautiful. If you've come all the way to Bali, it might be worth seeing it at least once. Burn it into your memory and revisit it in your dreams from time to time. It's a place that inspires creativity and nourishes the soul.
