Parks
Sẁiẁs (Haynes Point) Provincial Park is a prominent natural area in Osoyoos, featuring a narrow spit that extends into Osoyoos Lake. The park offers waterfront campsites, sandy beaches, walking trails, and scenic viewpoints. It is home to a diverse wetland ecosystem with abundant birdlife and features a boardwalk through the marshes. During winter when the lake level drops, a sand bar emerges across the lake from the tip of the peninsula.
Walked along the peninsula and it was beautiful. At the beginning are outhouses and a picnic area. At the end, it is a campsite and would be absolutely packed most weekends, so be mindful and don't walk through people's sites. At the turn of the road is a path through the shrubs to the tip of the peninsula, even has a bench to enjoy the view. Nice little walk to stretch your legs.

It was the last day of a week long road trip, so we didn't explore as much as we would have liked. But it's a cool place. Next year we'll camp there for a couple of nights, and really get a feel for it.
Randy F — Google review
I have been camping at Haynes Point since the late 70s. It's not groomed like private campsites may be and thereareno hookups but each site is private and surrounded by natural vegetation. Each site, even the ones in the center have fabulous views and easy access to the lake.
Natasha S — Google review
A stunning oasis with its picturesque lake views and well-maintained area perfect for both leisurely and strolls. The lush greenery and diverse flora create a serene atmosphere, ideal for picnics and relaxation. With its family and pet-friendly amenities, it's a must-visit destination for nature lovers. Kudos to maintenance for making the washroom well cleaned.

Love love love this park! We go every year. Sometimes more than once if we are lucky. Must be up early to reserve, but well worth the effort! Warm water , stunning sunsets, great for bike riding around campsite and Osoyoos. Great bird watching , boating or just floating. Clean and friendly always!
Kim M — Google review
We arrived in early October without a reservation, little di we know it is BC Parks most popular campground. Luckily when we arrived in the dark, there were quite a few spots available and we had a Lakeside pitch. In the morning in daylight it was stunning. It was $32 and not the normal $20 we'd been used to, so we were a bit surprised. However, all the other private campgrounds were similarly higher in cost compared to similar grounds elsewhere. The flushing loos were an added bonus. The hosts were incredibly friendly to us and gave us loads of advice. Weather was great, the birdlife was fantastic and there's a great series of trails in the day use area of the spit which we loved. There was so much to do and see here that we could have spent weeks here with all the fruit and veg stalls and wineries. Could do nothing but praise the site and location.
Chris P — Google review
We had two great nights there and conditions were almost perfect except for windy, at night. We woke up at 11: p.m. to gusty high winds coming off the lake. Thankfully we had taken in the awning on our trailer but had to secure a few odds and ends that were still out. Staff and area was clean and friendly. Washrooms were clean as well with flush toilets and sinks. Watch out for poison ivy. It is prevalent in the area and marked sufficiently.
Glenn A — Google review
Spent two nights here beginning of June on site 1. The site itself was great, private with neighbours only on one side and great access to the lake from the site. The bathrooms were clean and stocked the whole trip which was nice as well. There is a dog beach we went to a couple of times and were always the only ones there, I’m assuming because the sites have such close lake access. It does get quite windy so be prepared for that.

Park
Lions Park, situated just north of Gyro Beach, offers a playground for children and grassy areas for relaxation. The beach is rocky, so wearing appropriate footwear is advisable. It's a great spot for families with kids of all ages to enjoy picnics and playtime. The park features a variety of equipment including slides and swings, as well as a small library for book donations. Additionally, there's a fenced area around the playground to ensure child safety.
A great park for kids, picnics, and more! Watch the kids play while you take in the scenery and relax! A great place to stop while traveling and it's located on a quiet one way street so less traffic worries. A fence extends along the playground area (doesn't enclose it), to help prevent kids from running off. The park equipment is a ton of fun. There is even a little library there for donating books.

I took my grandson here to play on the playground. He had a nice time. He starts grade 7 next month so I figured I'd take him for a little party

Jorge V — Google review
Pretty nice park with a good variety for all ages. Little slides for the little guys and big slides for the big guys.. swings for all ages, plenty for climbing and playing. Right beside a rocky beach if you’re into throwing rocks in the water. Not a huge parking lot though so might be tough to get parking during the summer.
Sarah M — Google review
Super neat playground!! I haven't seen a playground like it before, awesome! (I didn't get a pic of the super cool climbing area, we were all too busy playing on it for me to take a picture 😂) Nice little swimming area there as well.

Osoyoos Lake Regional Park is a wild and scenic beach with stunning views of the town of Osoyoos to the north. While it may not have the same fine sand as other nearby beaches, its natural surroundings more than make up for it. The park offers amenities such as a parking lot, washrooms, and picnic tables. The lake is known for camping, fishing, and water activities with beautiful mountain views all around.
Very lovely peaceful spot for relaxing.

Beautiful lake right on the US-Canada border. Lots of campsites, trailer parks, private homes, stores, and people. Supposed to be good for fishing. Lots of boats and personal watercraft on the water. Great setting with hills and mountains all around. Beautiful at dusk when the noise quiets down and the sun sinks low.

Park & ride
The Osoyoos Canal Walkway is a 5km round trip trail located just north of the Osoyoos Secondary School. It follows an abandoned section of the irrigation canal that was once vital for the town's water supply and fruit industry. The trail offers a glimpse into Osoyoos' history and showcases the impact of water on the surrounding landscape, with one side bordered by natural sage and antelope brush, while orchards line the other.
We have walked and biked this path and really enjoyed our time.
Sylvia B — Google review
Nice paved walkway, easy and you can do part of it or all depending on what you want. It ends by the tunnel below the highway but you can continue walking on the other side of the tunnel. It’s good activity to do in Osoyoos.
Hassan M — Google review
Canal Walkway is a very popular place to have a short or a very long walk depending on how you feel. The long walk has a fairly steep hill at the end just to let you know you had a good walk 😊

Nice paved walkway, even ground. Good spot for a leashed walk with the pup. Did the out and back in about an hour. Spied a raccoon and pheasant.

The town's waterfront park, Gyro Park, provides an ideal spot to admire the lake's beauty or enjoy a picnic by its shores.
Bring your family, bring your friends! Osoyoos lake in the summers are super warm and beautiful 😍 ... oh, and also bring sunscreen, water and a hat? We come to Osoyoos for 2 weeks every year and just love it !! The lake can be busy with boats, seadoo's, paddleboards etc, but there is lots of room for all to play! There is usually a wibit, my kids love that!

The lake is SO WARM! We went on the Canada Day long weekend and it was stellar. I recommend going on a less windy day so getting out of the water/being on the water isn’t as cold

Lake Osoyoos spans more than 5,700 acres and straddles the border of British Columbia, Canada and Washington state in the United States. The Okanagan River flows into Lake Osoyoos in a semi-arid region of British Columbia known as Desert Wine Country. This region has very low annual rainfall and some of the highest average temperatures in Canada. In fact, the lake is the warmest in Canada and is located in Canada’s only desert.
Mamun K — Google review
Beautiful town and lake. A tourist destination with water sports including a witbit. Pub, restaurants, cafes, fast food. And you are in fruit and wine country in Canada's desert. Many fruit stands and wineries in the area.

Legion Beach Park is a beautiful and cozy sandy cove located on the west side of Lake Osoyoos. The beach offers fine, bright sands and warm waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming and picnicking. Visitors can enjoy the shade provided by large trees in the adjoining grassy area, perfect for relaxing with a book. The park also features picnic tables, boat launch areas, and ample parking spaces.
My favorite beach to take my dog. The dog beach section is a grassy shaded little spot for us to relax, while the dogs swim and have fun in the water. There are also a couple of picnic tables and public washrooms that are always clean. Some days are quiet and peaceful and other days in the summer on the weekend it's like a party for all the doggies that will run all over your beach towels soaking wet, but all good fun! The non dog beach section is more like gravel than sand, but never too packed.
Jen P — Google review
We stumbled upon this place while looking for a dog beach and this place was absolutely amazing. They have a grassy area to the left which is for dog swimming. The water does have some seaweed in it, but a dog absolutely loved it and it was a nice place for us to be able to enjoy the beach with him. There are trees that can help keep you in the shade if you need. It is not a very sandy beach. It's more rocks nonetheless, still a great experience.
H M — Google review
Great place to take your dogs! Not crowded, wide beach and dog park area nearby!
Brenna V — Google review
Shade, picnic tables, very long,. Large beach area, safe shallow water, dog friendly area, port-a-potty was clean too. Parking reasonably close
Wade T — Google review
This is a very nice clean beach that is kept in great condition by the Town. You can even take your dog on leash onto the beach and in the water for a swim!
Reg B — Google review
We arrive to this beach accidentally and it was such a pleasure to be there. The beach is shaded, quiet and dog friendly. There is a strip of sand as well as grass. We really enjoyed.
Gal N — Google review
Beautiful cozy beach. Good swimming area. There are places to launch a boat. There are a couple of recreation centers and hotels near the beach. There are quite a lot of people on the beach. Children especially like it here. Because you can play around the water and in the sand. A friendly place for your pet. There are many parking spaces for the car. The water in the lake is cool, but swimming is possible if desired. Visit this place and you won't regret it)
Ivan S — Google review
There are a few beaches in Osoyoos, and I've been coming to this town since I was a kid. Now that I'm an adult though, I get to choose which beach I want to go to. Legion Beach is the PERFECT beach if you just want to relax and tan without many other people around. There are only 8 parking stalls available right out front, so come early. I showed up around 11 each day and most stalls were still empty, but they do fill up very fast. There is a motel right beside the public beach, but it doesn't really affect the calm atmosphere. Legion Beach will forever be my beach of choice when visiting my grandparents.

Quiet and right by the lake, the gazebo is a good spot to stay cool. It has a nice bike trail. Worth making it a pit stop to enjoy your food and view, washroom available.

This is a post about plants. It was here that I first noticed the wild milkweed plants. That said alot about the localized climate conditions. It is warm and dry for this plant to flourish here. Never even seen this anywhere else in BC. What do you think? Have u seen it? The next plant I am looking for is the white sage plant.

This a short trail you must see it during your visit in Osoyoos. It's in the center of the city and could be your last part of the walking that was started from Gyros Beach. Plants flowers and few wooden archs along walk way plus lake and mountain view make it perfect place for some fabulous photo shoots.

What can I say a picture is worth a thousand words. Osoyoos is the best Canadian Winter getaway for Canadians this side of the border. Even on its coldest day you can get outdoors. Tulips starting to bloom, vineyards are being pruned and Cherry trees trimmed as Spring is in the air here. Truly a last frontier of peace, tranquility, simplicity on earth. The Osoyoos Off Leash Dog Park is a fantastic space for dog owners to bond with their furry friends. The park, which used to be a fully enclosed ball diamond, offers a secure environment for dogs of all sizes to play and socialize. With lush green grass and stunning lake views, the park features separate areas for small and large dogs. Visitors can enjoy ample parking, covered seating, and public washroom facilities.
The Large dog run is one of the largest and most beautiful dog parks out there. I’d say it qualifies as a National Dog Park - 5 stars!
Jamie K — Google review
Great choice, tricky to find the parking area, which is between the Tennis courts and the High school. There are two separate sections of the dog park, one for small dogs, the other larger area for the big boys and girls. Plenty of area to run your best friend. The park is very well irrigated, providing lush green grass. There are shelter gazebos for shade, and water taps. Bring your own bowl. The terrain is sloped up from the parking area. A port-a-potty is also available for you.

Rattlesnake Canyon is a western mining town-themed amusement park located in Osoyoos, just a few blocks away from the best campsites and hotels. It offers various family-friendly activities such as mini-golf, bumper boats, rock climbing wall, go-karts, and an arcade.
Such a fun place in Osoyoos! Great rides for all ages, friendly staff, and a really cheerful vibe. Perfect for a family day out or just to feel like a kid again. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town!

Spied the mini-golf and couldn’t say no. Was pleasantly surprised to find they are dog friendly! Really pretty course, nicely maintained, super cute mural and structures. Has short putts but still challenging and very fun. Loved the addition of the spin challenges! This was so much better than I expected! Come check it out!! Worth a stop!!

We played an evening of mini golf here. Parking is behind or along the street. There's 18 holes, and each one was quite unique. Compared to our usual annual mini golf in Parksville, this place is better! Some of the difficulties make the experience fun and challenging. The pacing was also good. The way they designed the holes allowed them to compact things but not give you the experience of being crowded. This is an excellent mini golf park. We definitely recommend Rattlesnake Canyon!
Victor L — Google review
The atmosphere at Rattlesnake Canyon was enjoyable, with a lively crowd and a decent range of attractions. While it was busy, the wait times for rides were surprisingly reasonable. However, the experience was dampened by a few issues. The day pass felt overpriced considering the limited number of available activities, and the parking situation was quite tight. Most disappointing was the encounter with a rude agent at the ticket counter, which got the day off to a less-than-ideal start. With some improvements in service and value, the park could offer a much better experience. In the end, my son loved the various rides and activities. Ride attendants including of Trampoline were great.

Such fun for the whole family. The staff are friendly and want to make sure everyone has a good time. They checked in with my 4 year old on the Bungee Tree to see if she wanted to go up high or not and respected her wishes to just jump on the trampoline. When I went on the swings I was told if I started to feel sick or scared to just give the guy a thumbs down and he'd stop the ride. Overall, pretty affordable too, all things considered. There is no entrance fee so it just depends on how much you want to do.
Janna S — Google review
We went after sunset and got the day pass tickets for 2 adults. However we quickly realized the rides in the package aren't too thrilling for adults, so I would recommend just buying the go kart and mini golf experience individually instead. Lucky for us the staff was able to get us the mini golf in exchange for rest of our tickets for the other rides. The best part was we were allowed to finish the mini golf course past the closing time. There was another group couple holes behind us as well, which was really appreciated.
Junaid H — Google review
Worth visiting with kids make sure to check age restrictions and height restrictions. Not suitable for small kids but my daughter is 9 she can get in to most of the rides without trouble.
Jincy P — Google review
I drove up from Abbotsford for a random round of mini golf with my wife and kids! To my lack of planning we were rained out within 5 min of getting there (4hr drive lol) and the front desk gave us a rain check! We had a week camping trip planned in Gallagher mid August and planned on using the rain check but I forgot it at the campsite and Paul the owner had no issue trusting me! He accidentally gave us all day passes not mini golf passes and after golf told the staff to which they were very impressed we didn’t use the all day rides pass! We came back again for rides and paid for them gladly due to how we were treated! Yes there is limited rides as ppl say but for the space they have they use it well! The manager treated my sons above and beyond and helped my daughter for a ride and had a great talk with him! As I was enjoying icecream ( I think it was me that dripped it :( sorry Paul!) the owner walked by and noticed a drip of icecream on the walk way ahead and instantly got someone to wipe it up……. He’s always walking around ensuring park is clean and running well! If you’re visiting the area I highly recommend you check this place out as it’s a annual tradition for us and as long as Paul and the manager are there we will keep coming back!

Situated on prime waterfront property, Gyro Beach Cafe boasts a welcoming staff and an array of delectable eats that can be enjoyed on the nearby sandy shores or adjacent park. This charming cafe is definitely worth a visit, offering an assortment of mouthwatering treats such as quesadillas, paninis, and hot dogs to satisfy your hunger. If you prefer something lighter, their salads feature locally-sourced produce while their chips and salsas provide a delightful snacking experience.
Decent prices, wide selection, practically right on the beach. Tasty and good sized Ceasar salad as well as chicken quesadilla. Iced mocha was also good. The staff was nice and helpful even though they seemed to be busy.

We had a very upsetting experience at Gyro Café in Osoyoos. A staff member was extremely rude and confrontational for no clear reason, and at one point came alarmingly close to physically pushing my wife. We felt uncomfortable. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any customer-facing environment. We were shocked by how we were treated and would not recommend this place to others based on our experience. Response to your message below: We stand by our original review and want to clarify a few things. We understand it was a busy long weekend and didn’t expect perfection, but respectful treatment is a basic expectation no matter the circumstance. The owner’s claim that we were refused service due to behavior is simply not true — and the fact that he followed us to the parking lot and began shouting and swearing in front of children was deeply inappropriate and unprovoked. He had the audacity to say I followed you becoz you gave us a bad review. It was upsetting enough that we seriously considered reporting the incident to the police We’re not the only ones who have raised concerns about the owner’s conduct — a quick look at other reviews shows a troubling pattern. Calling customers “liars” rather than taking responsibility only proves the point further
Inderjeet S — Google review
The owner is extremely rude. The service is terrible. We paid for a drink and when we asked the owner for it he claimed we didn’t pay for it when WE DID. We had proof of our transaction, however when asked him to pull up the receipt he decline. We also generously tipped with each purchase. If I could give it negative stars, I would. It is evident that this regular occurrence based on other reviews, and the owners inability to receive criticism.

This beach is lovely. It can be very busy but the breeze from the water on a hot day is heavenly, the swimming area was nice and clean and the atmosphere is great and it’s very close to restaurants for when you get hungry or need a break from the sun. Only thing I wish was that it was larger.
Jan J — Google review
Ordered iced coffee and mocha. Both weren't good. Have had much better coffee elsewhere. All we could taste was milk and sugar. The service was very slow like just 1 person working there. And owner was rude.

It was nice to have a cafe right by the beach. They served pizza, burgers, hot dogs, cold drinks, ice cream and so much more! The bathrooms were attached to the cafe.

Nestled in the stunning landscape of Osoyoos, Cabana Beach Campground and RV Park is a hidden gem for family campers seeking a serene getaway. As you arrive, you're welcomed by the charming sights and sounds of nature, including friendly quail. The campground boasts one of the finest sandy private beaches in the area, perfect for sunbathing or enjoying water activities.
This place doesn't get the exposure it deserves. I love Cabana Beach the private beach allows you to have security that your stuff is safe while you're out for a swim or even up making lunch. The cabanas are great for tenting. The cabins are spacious and very well priced. I can't wait to come back next year. Allison and Gary are 2 great people and need to have this place explode with business. If you're reading this and want to go to Osoyoos check out Cabana Beach!
Privileged — Google review
Not sure if the issue is just one of the owner’s (Gary) because his wife seems nice but our family won’t be returning here. First off, Gary seems to pick and choose who he will offer a site to. We were told there were no sites available until someone already camped there spoke to him and convinced him to give us a site. So clearly they weren’t all “booked”, he just didn’t want to have us stay there. We are a family with children so that was weird. There were other families with children camping there too. Next, he told us that there’s a surcharge for having visitors come to the site and extra if they’re parking there. Seems like he really only cares about $$ and not customer service.
Dee O — Google review
Had a wonderful time here! Boyfriend and I needed a tenting spot and they had quite a few. Every tenting spot came with a little shed with a sink, running water, power(electrical outlet), and a fridge at no extra charge. They had Ice in the office for a charge. Bathrooms and coin-operated showers and they both were clean and well kept. Could see the beach from campsite, could see our campsite from the water. Highly recommend!!! Will be returning!
Cyrena W — Google review
Worst camping experience ever. The owner (Gayri) is the most disrespectful and racist ever. He has no human decency. He picks and chooses who he wants to be nice to and who he wants to give a site to. We called to book and we had two spots reserved by the time we got there he said he didn’t have anything available even after we said we’ve booked. Hours later after someone convinced him he gave us 2 spots showing he had availability this whole time. Our stay there was awful we had a truck by our site to pick up some people with hazard lights on but he came and said we’re awful drivers, gross, and annoying for having our truck picking up people. If you’re confused about that good because me too. Anyways I do not recommend it
Amy L — Google review
Very clean, and extremely quiet at night. Nice cool breeze off the lake at night. The cabanas have a fridge, light, outlet, and sink with running water. Lots of shade for tenting, wifi, and very motorcycle friendly. Pay showers that are very hot and $2 gets you a great shower. I’d go back in a heartbeat. The hosts were very friendly. Reasonably priced.
Timmytorco — Google review
loved this camp ground so much! thether ball was so much fun, and our campground was a nice size! had a good sleep other than the fact we were so close to the lake it was so so windy at night only. in the morning it was so warm. the lake was so nice and close, but i found it was a little polluted. not sure if the tires were supposed to be in the water? the bathrooms were nice and clean and we met so many nice people! overall fun stay, although i did find the male owner a bit rude.
Kianna — Google review
May be a little biased, as I have been going since I was two years old, but the owners are great once you know them, though they can come across as strict (Which is different from rude). The entire campground is managed by two people, give or take temporary employees, and is a level of quality that I've yet to see wherever else I go. Washrooms are cleaned daily (You'd be surprised how quickly people can leave a mess), and yes, the showers are coin operated. Not a bad thing, it means that you can have hot water for your shower. The site prices vary, but overall they are reasonable, and are almost literally netting the average minimum for camping in Osoyoos. They have lean-to 'cabanas' with a light, running water, and electricity, for a $4 difference from a grass site with just water. Needless to say, because of its quality, of course there's times of popularity where its hard to squeeze in a spot, primarily the long weekends. Don't phone them over the winter, because there's nobody there, call in May. Set up a site. Pay your deposit. Enjoy the hassle free stay! And, if there ARE any hassles, the management is UNDERSTANDING of the problems. Don't be afraid to talk to them by a gruff exterior!
Brendan W — Google review
I love the little Cabanas; the Fridge, electricity and sink with running water make it worth for me. My husband and I have gone here 4 years in a row. The owners are very nice (despite what other people are saying). Do NOT go here if you plan on having a big loud group. This is a very quiet respectful family friendly campground. So, if you're looking for a place to be left alone in peace and quiet. Lots of families are in trailer spots and keep going back year after year to Cabana Beach for decades. Tip: Bring a roll of dollars for the shower.

Island View RV Resort, formerly known as Haynes Point, offers a unique natural experience with its proximity to the Haynes Point Wetland and the chance to spot nesting birds and bats. The resort's kitchen is led by Executive Chef Murray McDonald, known for his Indigenous roots and culinary expertise. Guests can enjoy clean and private campsites with full hookups at affordable rates.
This campground is immaculately clean and has very private sites, for a campground. Shrubs blocking off either side of you and large sites. We have a Class B Van. And it was a huge cement site. Full hook ups and very affordable. When I look for a campground, I’m looking for reviews on Clean washrooms (as we mostly use them) and private sites. This place has both. The only minor inconvenience is the coin showers. $1 for 5 minutes. It’s just annoying to have to fiddle around with change (which the office sells you a roll of $10 in quarters) I wish they would change this. But to be honest, it doesn’t warrant a removal of a star in the review, because the washrooms were so clean and constantly cleaned. We stayed for 2.5 weeks, and plan to be back next year earlier and longer. Great place to stay, highly recommend. Oh and the communication between the on-site staff via txt was immediate, whenever I had a question. 5 stars for sure. Thanks for a great stay.
Jackie K — Google review
The sites are paved and the facilities are good. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Showers are $1 (4 quarters) for 5 minutes and there is good pressure. The owners are very responsive and the private beach is the highlight of this site. They even have an air inflator for all your inflatables right at the beach. Sites are not shaded and there are lots of full time owners but everyone is super friendly and they all take care of their sites. This is a well run site and we will definitely return again when we are in the area.

This is a beautiful vacation spot. Full hook ups for RVs, easy access to beach and walking paths. A little ways from shopping but very quiet. We stayed here in Sept just before the snowbird season. Most winter residence don’t arrive till October. We lucked out with the weather which was beautiful. Christine the manager is helpful and overall the park is clean. Only negative thing is the showers by the office could use an update. Or at least clean the shower heads with CLR.

Excellent staff. Unfortunately someone was parked in our assigned RV spot. Then there was a problem with the water in the next spot. Staff was excellent at resolving this issue. Bathroom was clean. Very quiet and peaceful, right across the road from their own private beach.

Review of Island View RV Park – Osoyoos Island View RV Park in Osoyoos is a true gem for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. One of the standout features of this park is the breathtaking view of the lake. Whether you're an early riser or prefer quiet evenings, you'll be treated to stunning sunrises and sunsets that reflect beautifully over the water. The park’s location makes it perfect for peaceful mornings and unforgettable evenings. Security is also a top priority here, with a gated entrance and friendly staff ensuring a safe and quiet environment for all guests. The RV sites are well-maintained and come equipped with power, water, and propane services, which make for a very convenient stay. What really adds to the charm of Island View is its natural surroundings. Many of the sites are located near a beautiful garden area filled with trees and colorful birds. The Osoyoos Desert Centre is an outdoor educational facility that showcases the ecology of the desert. It features a 1.5km wooden boardwalk and a native plant garden, providing visitors with a chance to immerse themselves in the beautiful landscape of this unique ecosystem. The interpretive center has interactive exhibits and informative displays that offer insights into the region's flora and fauna.
You won't actually see many animals but the boardwalk stops with written guide are educational and the desert scenery is lovely. The staff at the center are helpful volunteers and there are more educational displays on the local fauna. Very well maintained grounds, wheelchair and stroller accessible walk but very little shade, be careful on hot summer days!

The boardwalk through the desert ecosystem is really well made and allows you to see great views of the area and the local native plants. If you're lucky, you'll catch a view of one of the local denizens but since they're primarily nocturnal and the centre is open from 9 to 4 it's not that likely. But lots of birds and insects to keep an eye open for. Nice little interpretive centre and gift shop with small selection. Great visit. Really enjoyed it!

All around very interesting for someone who likes deserts. Although technically the Osoyoos desert isn’t a desert, it is close enough to the official rating to make it valuable. The whole walk is about 1km, all on new boardwalk so it is easy. There are several stops along the way with info panels and shade, and as it was 36C when we did the guided tour, the shade was critical. Definitely do the guided tour. It is only $12 which is worth it as it goes back into supporting the centre. There are a few options for times of tours during the day so you don’t have to do one during the hottest part of the day. Our guide was very cute, clever and funny and obviously knew about deserts and the locale. She had been working there for three years so it’s nice to see continuity of employees. Bathrooms were clean, the Centre itself was small but tidy and geared for families as it had interactive displays for kids. Well worth it!

Beautiful desert scenery! A self-guided tour with accompanying pamphlet, with easy to follow markers & info kiosks along the path. On a hot day make sure to bring water & wear sunscreen as you're mostly out in the open. Very well done & well worth the fee, hope to come here again!

A great way to learn about local native plant and animal varieties! Such a unique landscape, and we had a lovely chat with a student employee who gave us some extra interesting info!

A information centre about the only desert in the whole of Canada! If you have time, this is a must-visit! We came from Kelowna and spent between 1-2 hours here. The centre has guided and self-guided tours along the 1.5 km walk through the desert. The self-guided tours were fun! Information spread out in 12 steps throughout the boardwalk. We determinated wildlife poop and flowers and learned a lot about the environment. Bring sunscreen, water and maybe a hat!

Good place to get the idea about Osoyoos desert concept. I appreciate the contribution by the paid workers and the volunteers' dedication as well. I felt this the place you can really see the real cross section of Osoyoos geography. The fee of 12 CAD should be considered as the our contribution to the effort made by them to educate the remarkable piece of land located in beautiful British Columbia.

We took the wrong turn to find this destination, incredible views, amazing wine lists, so glad we found this gem. Would definitely come back for R&R and a good lengthy hike to take in the scenery. Best to leave your electronics at home to truly get a sense of why you want to go there and stay at one of the local resorts. Best holiday ever to get back to basics!

Sandhu Greenhouses & Nursery, located on Highway 97 a few kilometers North of Osoyoos, has been a go-to greenhouse in the Okanagan for over 15 years. This family-run business offers an extensive selection of plants, shrubs, and trees at reasonable prices. Customers appreciate the helpful staff and the wide variety of beautiful flowers, including strawberry plants and vegetable plants. The greenhouse is also known for its unique tropical plants and other offerings.
This has been my go to greenhouse in the Okanagan for the last 13 plus years. They have the most extensive and amazing selection of unique tropical plants and others. Prices are good, I highly recommend this place.

I stopped in this afternoon for the first time to Sandhu Greenhouse and I was impressed with all the beautiful flowers for sale. After this last year it was nice to see so many beautiful flowers. Sandhu Greenhouse also had TONS of strawberry plants and vegetable plants ready to go. You must stop in and see the numerous plants, pots, shrubs and trees!

Very impressive collection of plants. It is the place to find what you are looking for. But they know that... so the prices aren't cheap .... Good selections. Showing you the plants I like. But I didnt buy any.

Here is a photo of my 30 yr old monkey puzzle tree in Osoyoos that I had to cut down for an addition (garage) These are available through the lovely people at Sandu Greenhouse. And this is a picture of the tree's base after my handy work.
