Caldwell Park is a spacious public green space located in Riverside, offering various amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park features picnic and BBQ areas, a gazebo, and a skate park, making it an ideal spot for families. Children can have fun at the play areas and splash pad during the summer months. Additionally, there are trails for leisurely walks or more challenging hikes, as well as a dog park and horse trails.
This is a great park with lots of different things to do. There is a large pool with 2 water slides, a skate park, river accessibility, nice trails, playground, fish viewing area along the river and many other fun options for pretty much anybody. I took some photos the other day of the river flooding much of the waters edge after all this rain. If you found this review useful please like my post. Thanks

Nice park. Well kept. Some druggies roaming. Busy often. Large space though. Playground, Water, & public bathrooms are all available as well.
Jaden N — Google review
Great park with lots to do and nice areas to play. Next to the river and very scenic, has a boat launch and a nice play area. Has a pool and areas to ride your bike. There is a skatepark nearby also. I think there is a restaurant inside the park somewhere. The park is overall great. Things to be aware of are the bathrooms are usually unavailable but they usually have a porta potty open, and there can be a lot of homeless people near the entrance. Would be 5 stars if the bathrooms were available more often. The homeless people usually mind their own business but I did once see one pee on a tree right in front of everyone right at the entrance which was pretty nasty.
Charissa — Google review
A super awesome spot to hang out with your family. Has a really cool outdoor dirt bike track, playground and a pool. You can walk beside the river and has lots of beautiful trees and green grass. You should definitely check it out. I'm glad I did!
Nicole R — Google review
One of the only places in Redding that actually has shade, and abundant shade at that. Park is beautiful although not much to do or see unless your a kid which is pleasing to say they do have a skate park, and bike jumps, and swimming pool/slide, and a volleyball court as well. other then that, there's various seating and benches spread thru out the park and only dislike is that each bench or table is so far from the next. But at least there's shade.:) There's always a lot of activities going on there but if your not involved in the activities yourself, it's still nice to walk thru and sit in the park and watch the big flock of geese wander from visitor to visitor, or chase each other. Never a dull moment yet the place to rest and relax as well.
BossBabeGngstaMade — Google review
Caldwell Park used to be a gem, but it's really gone downhill. My husband and I recently visited, and it was a shadow of the beautiful place I remember. The lack of maintenance is immediately obvious—the landscaping is a mess, there are dried-up dirt piles where trees are missing, and even fallen trees that haven't been cleared away. What's more, the park no longer feels safe. We saw a lot of sketchy individuals and even someone who seemed to be living out of their camper with a generator running. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our car and didn't stay long. It's truly sad, as this was once the perfect spot for family outings; my daughter even had her first birthday here. To make matters worse, people on motorized rental scooters were riding at high speeds with no regard for anyone else. We even saw a teenager chasing the geese on one. It's a shame to see a place that once felt so peaceful and well-kept become so neglected and, frankly, unsafe. I wouldn't recommend it and certainly wouldn't bring my grandkids here.
Jill — Google review
Great park! Perfect place to run the energy outta the kids for a bit. Skate park, Bike jumps, playground, aquatic center, and so much more! Lovely Sacramento River Trail to stroll down that passes right through.. This is my kids' favorite park to visit by far!!
Mariah S — Google review
The park does provide a lot activities for children and adults, walking trails. Skate park the aquatic center. Several place structures, boat ramp, bathrooms. But the park does need cleaned up lot of homeless

Hiking area
Sundial Bridge is a stunning architectural gem that gracefully spans the Sacramento River, designed by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. This pedestrian bridge not only serves as a vital link between Turtle Bay Exploration Park's museum and its beautiful Arboretum and Gardens but also acts as a gateway to Redding’s expansive Sacramento River National Recreation Trail.
This place was very cool! We've got to go back when we have more time. Parking is free, which is great and there is plenty of it. The park is huge... there are electric scooters and bikes you can rent to ride around. There were a lot of people just on leisurely evening strolls. My wife and I went by the lake and just sat for a few after taking our time across the bridge. It was an absolutely beautiful view on both sides. There were kayakers and tubers on the river. It was also doggy walking hour 🤭 Plenty of furry friends enjoying a stroll. Very peaceful place. There apparently is a restaurant on site as well but we went too late. 😣 next time !
Dasha D — Google review
Beautiful place to just sit and relax. The river flowing below has a wide bank and feels magical with the water stream resembling raindrops on the surface. It's pretty cool on a summer evening. Lots of people (not overcrowded) and friendly families around. The car park is extremely close, so it's not much of a hassle to walk it up.
Shripad K — Google review
Do visit this place if you visit Redding. The whole bridge is lit up at night making it a surreal experience. They also have bikes and scooters that you can rent. Bike rentals felt cheaper than the scooters. Many scenic trails besides the river. So take your time and have fun exploring the place. Sunday they had the farmers market setup.
Varun R — Google review
This cool, architectural wonder in Redding is at Turtle Bay Exploration Park is super cool. Use the QR code at the beginning for an audio guided tour with lots of cool information as you walk across. On the other side is an Arboretum and Botanical garden. The audio tour says that the bridge is lit up at night... how cool is that!

The Sundial Bridge is a beautiful spot with a great view of the water. It’s a relaxing place to walk, and there’s plenty for kids to enjoy. The nearby museum and park make it even better, offering both fun and learning opportunities. A wonderful place for a family outing. After parking there is a nice river and picnic area as well but it’s not clean space while I visited, this area isn’t connected to the bridge so not to worry!

A must visit place in Redding CA. The city has done an amazing job if constructing a unique educational piece of marvel. Enjoy the gorgeous views of sunset over Sacramento river. The majestic size of sundial is a landmark if Redding.
Rajesh R — Google review
One of the largest Sundials in the world It’s a super cool bridge with a glass bottom (albeit it’s mostly opaque) and suspended from a giant sundial. If you’re visiting Redding it’s worth a visit. The bridge is right by downtown and other transactions (waterpark and museum) and offers a picturesque sunset viewing place. There’s a lot of paved parking around the area. It can get busy around sunset but we were still able to find a spot.
Kevin W — Google review
The Redding Sundial Bridge is a magnificent engineering masterpiece. It is the largest working sundial in the world that is most accurate during the solstices and its shadow accurately tracks time daily from approximately 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Sundial Bridge was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The walkway has stunning views of the Sacramento River with all its wildlife and spectacular scenic views of the mountains.

Visitors can explore interactive displays, admire local artworks, or even step inside a recreated Native American bark house. The park also boasts the stunning McConnell Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, where beautifully curated landscapes invite exploration.
This place is a lot of fun for all ages. They have art like beautiful trash sculptures and a Lego model of the Sundial Bridge. They have animals like fish, ducks, frogs and more. The staff were friendly. There was a lot of historical facts and cool relics

Great animal show! We loved the butterfly exhibit and the parrots! Perfect place to bring children, or like us a day time date. I recommend going early to beat the heat.

A Magical Night at Glowing Wild – Redding’s Radiant Hidden Gem If you’re looking for a night of wonder, beauty, and unforgettable memories in Redding, look no further than Glowing Wild. This lantern festival is unlike anything else in Northern California—an awe-inspiring blend of art, nature, and light that feels straight out of a fairytale. From the moment you step through the entrance, you're transported into a dreamlike world filled with giant illuminated sculptures. Towering tigers, graceful dolphins, luminous butterflies, and glowing floral arches line the walking paths, each more breathtaking than the last. The colors are vivid, the craftsmanship is exquisite, and the atmosphere is pure magic. What makes Glowing Wild truly special is how it transforms the familiar landscape of Turtle Bay and the McConnell Botanical Gardens into something otherworldly. The lanterns are perfectly placed to complement the natural surroundings, and as the sun sets, the entire area begins to glow with warmth and wonder. The iconic Sundial Bridge lit up in the background only adds to the surreal beauty.

We enjoyed our visit inside with several exhibits from fish to Legos to a steam punk special. Small but fresh and well curated. The outside was even more special with playgrounds, reptile house, and our favorite the buddies! 😍

What a fun family trip!! We are from southern Oregon and decided to check out Redding for the first time, with this being our first stop… and it did NOT disappoint!!! Everybody had an amazing time, my daughter is 12 and my son is 5 and both of them said that it was the best day. Beautiful well maintained landscaping and animal enclosures, extremely friendly staff. Tons of free giveaway stuff, perfect entertainment for the little ones! You can feed parrots - so fun! And during season you can go inside the butterfly house. It was extremely hot and humid when we went, it would have been nice if they had misters along the walkway/benches but other than that, such a fun memorable experience and we will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend

A beautiful park and scenic bridge with a view of the river and it’s a pretty crowded place. I visited during July 4th and it was packed for the fireworks.
Jagadeesh R — Google review
The park is 5 stars easy, very beautiful area, the museum I would give 3.5. It's interesting, not too big but I liked the birds and was there was a Steam Punk exhibit which was nice. The remaining areas were nice but somewhat limited. Some of the animals are in rather small enclosures. It's a bit expensive for a family visiting and maybe getting a souvenir or two. Older kids may get bored after an hour and for $22 each it would not be worth it. I recommend going to the park, hiking, enjoying the bridge, nature, and the many wild animals you can find in the park. I saw deer and a skunk among other things.
Remey R — Google review
This experience was amazing. There are so many things to do included in the admission fee. Our favorites were the dinosaur exhibit, butterfly house, and the bird house. Aside from the favorites everything else was great also. Something fun is that most of the exhibits have things for kids to touch. Hands on learning is when my daughter has the most fun so I appreciated this experience.

A great place for a walk year around!! But the light show is always a fantastic time!! They do a very good job of changing it up and making it new every year!! Worth all the memories! I've attached picture from the Christmas lights of '23 and '24 and their new spring addition in 2023!!

I wanted to come back at night, but it was the night they were closed. We came back through on our way home, and the storm came through. I guess I'll enjoy the fact that I got to see it at all, and the white rabbit happened to be there. I wanted to follow him, but alas, responsibilities

I’ve been enjoying this park, the light festivals, Sundial Bridge and its activities, and Turtle Bay for many years. The river trails are peaceful and easy to walk (with more challenging trails for those who like a bit more of a hike). It’s one of my favorite places to go, and a great place for me to take photos. There’s a little something for everyone in and around Turtle Bay and the Sundial Bridge. (If you do go at night pleeease be careful and never go alone!) *(any and all photos posted are the intellectual property of account owner 😊 They may not be used, altered, and/or copied, etc under copyright laws).

We saw dear very close to us. It was a beautiful experience. Can't wait to come back and explore more here.
Joan R — Google review
More like a park than a Botanical Garden or Arboretum. We visited during a light show event period so there were decorations along the main walkway of the gardens. The gardens we came to see were roped off. We didn't find any plant markers along the main walkway. We did a loop walk along what I believe was the Arboretum but we didn't see any markers there either so we didn't know what we were looking at.

Enterprise Park, situated in southeast Redding, is a spacious urban oasis offering a variety of activities and amenities for visitors. The park features wide-open green spaces ideal for leisurely strolls, as well as a playground, basketball courts, disc-golf course, soccer fields, outdoor roller-hockey rink, and a seasonal splash pad.
We were traveling from WA state and staying in Redding when we really needed a place to unwind and let the kids run off some energy. This was the perfect park! Clean, exciting for all ages and safe.

Excellent Park you’re going to love it!
Brandon H — Google review
Lots of things for kids to climb on, swing, zip, slide, etc. Area is fenced with a single entry point to make monitoring children easier.
Kevin P — Google review
We went in June it was 102° so we went foe the splash pad... which is great and the kid loved it but it needed more spaced out features. Kids ran into each other a lot.
Katelynn W — Google review
Kids Kingdom is a great playground at Enterprise Park. It’s fantastic for locals and it’s proximity to the Hwy 5 and fast food make it also an ideal rest area for travelers. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels. The playground itself has a giant castle-themed play structure, which includes elements for bigger kids and smaller tikes. There are 2 swing sets with baby swings, kids swings, and even one for an adult to swing with a baby! There’s a smaller adjacent play structure, a rock climbing structure, a train, a few sensory things like bongo drums, and our favorite—a sliding swing, kinda like a zip line! We enjoyed lunch at one of the many picnic tables in the sun or shade. Speaking of needing shade, Redding can get kinda cold in the winter, but it also gets very hot in the summer! It looks like a spray fountain water play area is right next to the Kids Kingdom. Hopefully it’s operational during summer, it was dry when we visited. BONUS: The giant play structure is wheelchair accessible, too! Go around the back to find the wheelchair ramp. If you choose to give a thumbs-up 👍🏽 or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
Nathan P — Google review
This was a wonderful place to take through kids on a hot day to play in the splash pad. Bathrooms were close, and they had two options for ice cream/icees to cool you down.
Megan H — Google review
AMAZING, super fun park for kids of ALL ages. It has a water park play area right next to it so once they overheat from having so much fun they can just go cool off! It’s a blast! The park is spacious with a picnic/bbq area for parties and trails into the forest if you choose. They have zip line type swings for younger kids and older kids as well! Highly recommend going here.
Shannon H — Google review
Stopped here for a break during a long road trip and it was really nice for our kids (1.5 and 3). I hate bark as my kids get slivers but I’d say 50-60% is squishy turf which is amazing. We spend some time on a type of zip line that we’ve never seen before and my kid loved it. Came in May and the water feature wasn’t on so I can’t comment on that but it’s great they have one!

Great little park that is also shaded which is a plus during the summer. You get an awesome view of the elevated train tracks that cross the Sacramento River and park. They have volleyball courts and a horseshoe pit. Lots of grassy areas for activities for the kiddos or a picnic with the family!

Especially when you're from another area, visiting this park is very relaxing. People 🚲 including the security, workers taking walks and others viewing the Sacramento River. I sat on a grassy knoll under a tree waiting on my passengers. Wonderful spot.

This park is both huge and historic. It has it's issues, but there has been so much wonderful that happened here. So many great events and personal memories. The way to fix the problems here are to bring light. Family get togethers, fun events, and filling this place with good people. It is such a beautiful park. Horse shoes, nature, trails, playgrounds, skate park, basketball, and so much more. Let's make this park a place we all love again.

I bring my dog to this park every single morning and every evening. My partner and I stopped here on our cross country road trip to have a place to grab a quick beer, eat our lunch, and let the pup stretch his legs. Tiffany was our server and she gave us some of the best service we’ve had in such a long time! She remembered our names, gave great recommendations and overall was friendly and kind. The beer was awesome too. We grabbed a 4 pack to go! Highly recommend! Def go here if you go through Redding.

This place has a nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff and people. Why does a half pint of beer cost $6 and a whole pint of beer cost $7? I don’t understand that. I remember when growlers were purchased to save money on a beer purchase but now it costs more than buying a 6 pack of the same beer. I don’t understand that. Times are changing I guess. The beer is very good.

When we’re at the tap house we love getting Hawaiian BBQ from next door. Like having a local brewery that makes yummy beer. The brewery has a fun vibe too.

Well done 3 non alcoholic beer choices! I only tasted the Amber (tasty) and the hazy was sold out(would have been my preference). I really liked the blood knot- smooth easy drinker Solid flagship IPA with the hexagenia And other flavorful variety of IPAs with their cold ipa back country and numb numb hazy! I travel and visit breweries so I stayed away from the higher alcohol of their doubles but tempting!

This place makes delicious 🍺. I feel so fortunate that one of the world's greatest is located in my home town. The Hexagenia IPA was my favorite IPA, until they came out with the Lazy Hazy IPA. . .Then the Blood Orange IPA. 😋. Oh, and the Irish Coffee Cream Stout is the best Stout ever!

Fall River had a very good selection of local brews. There was something any beer lover would like form IPAs to ales. If you like beer there’s something for you. In addition to a beer tasty menu the vibe was laid back and not loud. It is even pet friendly. I would recommend Fall River and will return next time I’m in town. Their IPA selection was vast with many that had great fruity flavor and not overly hoppy.

Took Mule to 4 corners, to Meiners loop to catch Escalator (which I LOVED!!!) It was a fun climb that is not super technical but you can crank it and go fast, to Summit Trail and up to the top of Bear Mnt, then down Snail Trail (which was a BLAST to crank it going down!) and Mules Loop to the parking area. 15 miles???? My first time in Redding. I lucked out and found a friendly local to ride with. People here are so nice, the trails were in great condition (it was misting the whole time when I rode) and I think Escalator and Snails Trail are my two favorite northern California trails. I love it here!!! (PS: I was having too much fun going down Snails to stop and take pictures of that trail.)

Hike, bike, horseback riding, you can do everything out here. No place to get water, so bring your own. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 at the lower parking lot, 1 at the back lot, vault toilets but usually clean. No camping. Couple of purpose build mountain bike jump trails and flow trails, there are maps at both lots as well. Even a bike repair station with tools and a pump at the lower lot!

Very large playground. Kids have so much fun here. Safe neighborhood, lots of equipment, cleanest park I've been to yet.

The park is nice, good playground. The parking lot is small and tucked away off to the side. A bit inconvenient for transporting purposes to the park. Thankfully the road along the parking lot tothe park isn't very busy.

Very nice park with beautiful poop free grass! The only thing that was a little inconvenient is that you cannot reserve a table: it's first come first served. Everything else is wonderful!

Best park around and perfect for the road trip. Grabbed lunch at store and stopped by for the covered picnic area.Tons of activities for the kids to burn off a little energy!! Highly recommend. Super clean bathroom and super clean play ground!

My daughter is still a bit young 2 actually enjoy or utilize most of the playground still but she really enjoyed the swings and I definitely enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere that the playground had. It would be really nice to see some more little kid play area but other than that I would have given it perfect score

My children gave this park an A+++++++. My youngest daughter wouldn't stop saying "plus" for a couple of minutes. Two different play structures, one for children age 5 and older and one for those younger then five. Park also contains a basketball court, a large grass field for soccer or whatever, and a beautifully covered picnic/party area. Dad gives it a nine out of ten... a really nice park. Go visit it.

What an incredible group of artists! And an awesome night! We stumbled across the band a few years back, and have been fans since. I couldn't believe they had an event in our area, and jumped at the chance to go. We bought the VIP package and the Q&A time was fun to see the more personal side of the band, as well as the private performance. They DID NOT disappoint 👍 I'm so amazed at their collective and individual talents. Great show guys!!!!!!

JBLZE was amazing, Jason Bonham and band definitely gave us the experience of seeing Led Zeppelin. I loved when he was sharing his experience with his dad the late great John Henry Bonham and the other band members as well. The show was amazing, I would definitely see them again. Thank you for sharing your talent and making that magical experience.
Rose N — Google review
Wow I'm so impressed by their ability to put on the most poorly organized event in history. It is just so Redding of them for some reason. Here's a tip for any prospective concert goers: don't buy tickets. Just hang around the sundial parking lot and you can still hear/see just as well as general admission and you don't have to pay, you can bring your own food, you don't have to wait in line for literal hours AND you don't have to deal with the incompetent security staff! That's my plan the next time a show I want to see comes here anyway.
Joe Z — Google review
The venue was perfect for that larger than life feeling and The Civic staff were so gracious and understanding when I had questions. The Civic blew me away and I recently bought tickets for multiple shows with their promo and get to see some of my favorites. I will definitely be back for more shows!!!
Shelby M — Google review
They lower the prices for better seats after they have been selling them at full price and won't let you upgrade and pay the difference. Tickets should start at the lowest price and go up as it gets closer to the date of the show(like every other venue/festival) No point in buying tix in advance for a lawn concert, just wait till they put them on sale.Would love to see more good bands come to town but they need to get rid of whoever is in charge and start fresh. And don't get me started on the drink lines!
Jeff — Google review
WE thoroughly enjoyed last night's Yachtley Crew concert. The vocals were outstanding, the musicians were very entertaining. Loved their original song too. Their song choices were exceptional and their choreography was memorable.

Fun, fun , fun Had a great time with wife at Cake concert last nite. Paid extra for VIP access. During concert had private bathrooms with actual sink and soap etc. Honey cornfield was the greatest thing I've tasted in a long time! Staff well organized. Took 30 minutes to get out of parking lot at end of concert but wasn't really that bad!!
Chris D — Google review
This wasn't a cover band. It was a personal tribute by Jason for his dad. The music was great with all the John Bonham power. In addition, Jason made it his own by adding personal, exciting touches of his own, all in the right places. Mr Jimmy was at his best.

I didn't see any bathrooms their, but the park is very clean we really enjoyed it. There are trail's leading to the river and the water was really good and we went swimming and yes it was really cold but very refreshing. I think everyone should go for a swim. Lol.

This park has a couple of trails the main one makes the loop around the back side of the park and back up to the front but there's a few trails along the slew (waterway) that have some nice views at sunrise or sunset I recommend them so I take a walking stick so you can knock all the bush spiders out of your way before you have them crawling all over you but they don't need much and none of them are venomous as far as I know, I've never had one bite me and I've studied them pretty close some of them are very pretty in fact...

I bring my grandchildren here about once a week. They enjoy it. We play and swing, then we go for a walk, it has a nice walking trail, and has little trails that veer off to the creek, or to the Sacramento river. The only thing is there is no restroom, and kids always need a restroom wherever you go. Also I did not know this place was called Cascade Park, I have heard it referred to as the dog park, or Girvan park.

Travel nurse family here and we enjoyed our stay in the Turtle Bay RV Park. It was in the best location with easy walking access to the YMCA, downtown, parks and playgrounds, the arboretum, you name it. It could be a bit noisy but that goes with being in the city. The spots are somewhat tight but, again, you are just across the street from the park and right on the bike path. As with most cities these days there is an unhoused population nearby, but that never caused any issues for us. The manager is great and really makes you feel welcome. The community there is lovely and my toddler son would spend many hours riding his scooter around and saying hi to everyone. I would recommend this place for monthly stays.

The farmers market here is very nice. Be sure not to leave any valuables in your car, because of the homeless population in the area. The waterfall is very beautiful and the Rose Garden is delightful to walk thru. they have one Garden in front and one in the back. And they have nice sculptures around the area. In the morning the Canadian Honker are on the grass and sometimes hanging out at the fountain.

Marlene L — Google review
Wonderful grounds to walk around on but there are homeless people sleeping and hanging out all day long here. I come here about four times a year with friends and family and have hosted a couple get together/events here. The homeless people sleep under the trees for the shade in the summer and crowd the benches near some of the sculptures. When it rains they sleep under the shelter where the doors are up at the building. On one occasion when I came here with some out-of-town friends a homeless man was bathing himself at the Rock fountain near the trellis and stairs. This is one of the nicest sculpture parks in the area so I keep coming back. It would just be nice if there weren't so many vagrants loitering around and pissing on the trees.

We loved taking our dog here while in Redding!! Dogs are pretty nice good owners. And the dogs can swim In The river and cool off 😊
Rachel C — Google review
There may be nicer areas here to relax or play with your dog but the entrance parking lot and picnic benches just seem dirty. This was my second time coming here and it was same as before. But it's also July and it's hot and dusty. If you just need a quick dog stop while road tripping, it does the job. There is one porto potty in the parking lot at the Sacramento River trailhead.
Jennifer H — Google review
Very popular park with lots of walking trails, picnic tables along the river , where there is also several trash cans. The shelter, water fountain and bag dispenser are also a nice touch. There are kiosks to educate about the importance of wetlands ( more evident by the 6” rain in one day 2 weeks ago!) and to warn about stepping on the reds ( mounds salmon make to lay their eggs on). Kids also like the dirt hills.Dogs get so excited to come here and take their persons for a stroll! There are open meadows for playing fetch and frisbee too. It has grown enough it seems like additional parking and real restrooms could be warranted? It also would help if there were vegetation between the trail to trail and the highway to muffle the road noise.
Humminghorse — Google review
This place is so nice. Clean space easy to walk for anyone. Lots of picnic tables. Lots of dogs off leash. There are restrooms and also a Porta potty. Not a ton of parking.
S O — Google review
One of the best off leash areas in Redding. The North Bechelli off Cypress and it dead ends at this place. There are a few parking spots on the pavement, and then there is a dirt lot below the paved parking spaces. Walking trail is very flat and goes in a small circle (probably about a mile long). There are plenty of trails that break off the main trail that can take you to more private areas and down to the river. On the West end the trails lead to a shallow part of the river that has a small hill to walk down. The river can get swift depending on time of year, so always evaluate before letting your dog go all the way in. On the south side of the park (the back end of the trail) there are a few picnic benches where you can have lunch and overlook the river. These benches have a lot of trees around them, so depending on the time of day they are usually well shaded. There are short but steep walkways down the the river in this area, but the river is deeper here and more swift, always use caution. Also back here are dirt bike jumps that look fun.
Deanna F — Google review
Really great spot to walk along the river. It has been cleaned up recently and is in really good shape. The gate does get closed at night now. Lots of people walking dogs and walking with their families. Great to see the river running high and fast this year. Stay away from the water tho.

Nice spot to walk the dog off leash. Mix of wide open green and tree covered trails. Could use a little more river access for the doggies to cool off and a larger parking area, but otherwise a great spot.

This is a great free place to take your kids in the hot summers we have. It runs daily from memorial day to labor day. It's really just an area in the park where automated fountains are available to get wet in. There's a big volcano that errupts about every 10 mins. There is no supervision. No park employee keeping an eye on the kids. It is the parents responsibly to keep your kids safe. I cannot express how important this is. The ground is painted concrete. It is very slippery. Please don't let your children run here. I highly advise aqua socks. A serious injury is a very real possibility. I have personally witnessed several concussions happen just because someone was running and slipped.

The outfield walls of Big League Dream Redding's softball club require reparation with stucco or another suitable material. Aside from this, the facility is remarkable. It provides an enjoyable venue for playing in a softball league, boasting a cool atmosphere and homey ambiance. The batting cages are well-maintained and affordably priced, offering loads of fun. Morrison, a helpful young individual at the cages, comes highly recommended alongside the rest of the facility's staff.
Fun place to get your sports on! Tons of fields to play on and great atmosphere for all ages. Don't forget to check out the sports bar before heading out to play for a snack or a beverage of choice. Batting cages are cool too.
Kyle F — Google review
The baseball fields at this complex are atrocious. It is dated and in very rough shape. They have patched the turf in several areas and on all the fields. The patch jobs are so bad leaving raised edges that the balls can take bad hops off of and cause injury. On the plus side, now that it is no longer Big League Dreams fields you can bring in coolers instead of being subjected to eating over priced and poorly cooked food from the one and only concession.
Alisha T — Google review
Admission=$7.00 3 hot dogs=$23.00 1 Pretzel=$6.50 1 Bottle water=$3.00 The concession stand is pretty expensive, the fields are in need of major repairs, grounds need proper maintenance, tournament plays with no scoreboards (they have not operated in years), it's an embarrassment when people come from all around to the sports complex, fields are not in top condition, Redding needs to take a little more pride in their sports complex. I for one am very proud of where I live and so should the people of power,

Park
Kids' Kingdom is a unique amusement park in Redding, California that offers over 30 rides, including classics like the Ferris wheel and carousel. The park also boasts a playground, arcade, swings, and a water feature. Families can enjoy picnics at the grassy area with picnic tables and covered seating. The fenced-in park provides a safe environment for kids to play freely while parents relax on benches under shady trees.
Growing up as a kid I always Loved the old (wooden) Kids Kingdom Park & structure and over the years it has grown with so many new additions like the volcano water jet splash pad as well as a newly remodeled Castle with even more features than the older wooden structure. There are more swings (handicap accessible), more slides, a zip line, rock climbing as well as a community center with calendar activities and much more! Definitely a Kids Kingdom and for sure a Must to check out!
Sgt G — Google review
This needs to be said... This new plastic, static-filled, rubbery mess is not "Kids Kingdom". This is more like "Kids Village" there is nothing remotely kingdom-like here. They just slapped this playground together like some cheap off-brand LEGO set. Yes, it's for the kids I understand that, but this is just abysmal. It says this playground has an age group of 5-12. When I was 12, I remember coming here and it being a REAL KINGDOM. I remember running along this wooden bridge that wobbled and swung, climbing to the top of the lookout tower touching the treeline, and who can forget the giant hidden tire swing that connected all these secret tunnels together? This new place you can expect to build up static and get shocked (BAD), get friction burns from the slides and having your kids toes getting caught in the little holes they have on the walking platforms. The old one was wooden and was most likely rotting from the inside, but if the city can change the roads and put in bike lakes nobody wanted and that's hardly ever used, they can make a better "Kids KINGDOM" for the youth here. This is just pathetic. My kid gets bored after 30 minutes of playing. The charm is gone. They have remnants of the old helicopter and plane but they're nailed to a gate as a big middle finger to the older generation who factually had a kingdom they could go to and play on. But don't let the size discourage you from bringing your little one. They have one decent slide that's pretty steep everyone seems to love and have swings and a cool zip-line. I found some old pictures so you can compare it to the new one.
LukaBurr — Google review
This park was a lot of fun and has a couple of different features. There's a lot of grass and picnic tables to have parties along with a covered picnic table area. There is your average park with slides and swings, and there is also a water feature here. There are lots of big trees to sit underneath so you don't get sunburned. I do miss the old wood structure that looked like a castle.

This place was really fun to bring the kids. The park is huge, there is a big covered area with tables. The splash pad seemed clean and well maintained. It's not really the greatest place for a picnic, however. We brought a pizza and were constantly bombarded with meat bees and flies (like 20 non stop in our face). We tried moving all over and they just kept following us around. We had to stash the pizza in the car to get them to leave us alone.

If you find yourself in Redding from Thursday to Saturday, make sure to swing by The Park, the city's vibrant food truck hub. This lively spot is perfect for families and offers an array of delicious cuisines served from various food trucks. Enjoy live music while engaging in lawn games or simply relaxing around fire pits with friends and family. With plenty of seating available, it’s a great place to unwind with a drink—whether it's beer, wine, or mixed cocktails.
Really cute little spot. There were 4 food trucks when I was there: Filipino food, Thai food, Mexican, and crepes/loaded fries. I didn’t try anything but from what I saw it looked awesome. They had alcohol and drinks at the center stand. Loved that they had cornhole, giant checkers, and other fun lawn games. Seemed like a great family friendly place to hang.

Great place to have a drink and grab some food. They offer mixed drinks, beer, cider and wine. The staff is friendly and always smiling. Lots of stuff for kids to do, room to dance and lots of tables with heat near by. Dog friendly! The food trucks are yummy and reasonably priced for the amount of food. They post a lot of information on their Facebook page if you are wondering what band is playing and what trucks will be serving food each night.

Simple but pretty park. But why no dogs? Why do all the parks in Redding not allow dogs? I've seriously never lived anywhere that's like this... I'm a responsible dog owner who keeps my girl on a leash and under control and picks up after her. Fine the irresponsible owners don't punish us all!

Clean and beautiful. Nice for families and kids to play. Great views. Obey the signs for No Dogs Allowed ordinance, such as at the playground or park grass, this is not a dog park. Only walking on-leash on paved perimeter is allowed.

It's a good park, never seams too crowded. There are tables to eat at if it's not being rented out. Otherwise bring a blanket and sit in the grassy area. There is a basketball court and one restroom. I do always find every time I go, its windy.

I went for a walk on the outside of this park, as it has a beautiful outlook over part of the city and highway. It also has a big open area, a playground, a basketball court, and a shaded sitting area. Overall, it is a great place to throw a frisbee, go for a walk, and even play some basketball with friends.

Cool play equipment for older children, clean bathrooms and a picnic area. Lots of open grass. Downfall is that the park has ZERO SHADE for the kids on a hot summer day and it gets HOT! It’s just too hot to play, and the play equipment is too hot. The only shade is the picnic area if kids wanted to just sit there.

An excellent and challenging disc golf course. Lots of brush and trees make it very diverse with lots of curves and elevation changes. The trails are nice, and the pads are clear. Overall this is one of the best courses I have played ever, and it is absolutely worth going.be prepared to search for disc baskets and scout ahead before throws.
Kevin P — Google review
Cool disc golf course, great scenery, elevation and background changes from rock hillside to marsh and wooded areas. Peaceful. It could use a little upkeep with replacing missing signs, weeds on some of the holes are getting to be a bit out of control. But it did not have a negative impact on the challenging course can use a wide variety of shot types and use your entire bag of discs.
DJ D — Google review
This is a great disc golf course if you don't mind losing some discs in a ton of manzanita and getting all scraped up looking for them. It is actually a good challenging course though.

Great job cleaning and keeping this park clean! I've been up and down I-5 from Seattle to San Diego and this is currently my favorite course. It's free, it's clean, it's easy to find your disc's, it's a regulation quality course, and it's easy to get a round in without other people interrupting or slowing you down.
Jim S — Google review
Played the Disc Golf course. First half was great but the back half has a lot of climbing up and down a valley & a small stream running through so it’s was tough on my legs. Also lost a disc in the tall grass for 20min. Don’t use a green disc around that grass. It just disappears. Orange was easier to spot. Lots of trees but the course is maintained & brush cut back along the throwing path. Overall had fun just tiring if you have not been out in awhile.

Mostly open dawn to dusk trail could use improvement , ball field is good, i havnt played the frisbee golf course but it looks good. It would be nice if players all kept their dogs on leashes so ppl could walk with theirs and feel ok. My freind used to take her tiny dog on walks there but they always had big dogs scaring them by running up to them not on leshes to the point of where she would have to pick hers up to leave. Not cool. Now i wasnt with her but... ive seen it before with my big dogs happen so i belive her i just get ticky with owners.

It's a good course for beginners and it has good re-playability (if that's a word). It gets pretty busy on weekends and there are usually large groups so try to avoid that. I wish the City would do more to maintain the benches and landscape though.
Joe Z — Google review
Great coarse, was the course I discovered disc golf and have played for over 20 years. They have multiple tee pads, good for beginners and pros. Fairways are kept trimmed, make sure to bring water because the Redding heat can take it out of you fast.
CrippleB — Google review
The reason for only 3 stars is the park staff don't mow and the spring grass is so tall, you lose discs in it. I have spent more time looking for my discs than throwing them! However, It's my fav place for night disc. The daytime round is awesome as well. Most of the regular players have been welcoming and helpful. I rarely play at other courses.
Korrie M — Google review
It's a good park for sporting events or picnics however the kids kingdom section is a bit run down and you can easily lose your child in the wood castle area. Also this part of the part seems to attract drug addicts and homeless people. The skate park area is nice and the soccer field is well kept. The disc golf area seems always busy however is very dried out and dessert like with tall weeds in the summer.

What made this privately owned park, put up a fence, to keep the homeless out; I can only imagine; that it's the parents of the Kid's, base/soft ball games. IDK why they were so afraid, and intimated, by the homeless! We enjoyed watching the kids play ball! I have to imagine that it began with the public use, of their out house's! Because that was the first thing, they blocked off! It's unfortunate that there's so many people, who don't know how to respect! "Honestly, with each generation; the purification of the bloodline; seems to drift, farther, and farther, away from this world where we we're, closer to knowing that we needed to behave in ways where there was need for one another; and much more, intuned to the way's, in what and wasn't expected, when it came to knowing, the moralities of respect; you what and wasn't excepted, when interacting, throughout society! Today, respect seems to be washed away, with each generation. The closer we come to the generation of the purification of the bloodline; the farther away from the way's of the teachings of the biblical respect! The teachings of the differences, and the way's of the things that were knew; have been lost, to more than just a few! There's good and bad, in everything, and everyone! But when you change the world to be able to hide behind the fact's of the ignorance; and the way's of all being fair... Add with the fact that our government, officials, and yes; even the churches. Have lost sight of the fact that theirs is the difference between taking away the moral fiber to involving all to be able too be a part of the greater good. Has torn down the belief system; has caused distrust, and somehow, has lost the ability to be able to know the difference between the right and the wrong! Today's generation, seems to think, they know, what "Old School," is! When there's honestly; very few, that really do! The generation of them who are left; that know what Old School, really is/was. Are afraid that we're the last! And can't help, but fear what's to come, from this world today, with today's way's_ To All of You, Who Care! Never let Fear, Stop You, From Doing, What You Know, is Right! Because. One Can; Make a Différance!

It's a crying shame that a city park is being locked up unable to be used by the residents of the city... And it is being controlled by a private individual and regulated by a church funded community-based policing unit and as far as I can tell is being used two days out of every 365 for the sons of Italy .. seems odd don't you think?
Jon F — Google review
It's a very nice park and apparently the way they keep it nice is by making sure the public does not have access to it. The only unlocked gate was unlocked so that the kids could use the baseball field. They have signs up saying that the park is available by reservation only and I did find out that the baseball group had to pay to have access to it so they have made this a private park run by the city not available to the community around it. I really just wanted to walk my dog. They have basically made this so it is not a public park.
Adriane R — Google review
Unfortunately, like the rest of Redding South City Park the way of the common thug and junkie found throughout our city. With no respect or even the children who would play on the playground and end up walking up to Mommy asking what is this while holding a used syringe... The city has since closed, (temporarily at least) this Park, with plans of revamping it as a family-friendly venue sometime in the near future. I hope that these plans are followed through with. Perhaps some programs to help people get there lives back. We need to get the Heroin off our streets! If nothing else is done, we need to remove this destructive and disgusting entity from our society! It will take America to her knees and devour our great Nation leaving us prime for a takeover... United we stand, divided we fall... Yeah, this park is closed for renovations...

I remember when this subdivision was first built, my grandparents lived in it. When they first built this park the original slide was metal, needless to say before the end of that first summer the park had to close for "repair". Because they had to replace the metal slide with a plastic type of material that doesn't burn the hell out of your skin when you make contact with it. I have many memories at that park with my own kids, Im happy to see its not overrun by homeless people, like so many other parks have become in the town.

Cool place to hang out with friends or family. 2 water fountains, full basketball court, expanded grass fields great for sports like soccer. The only thing I'd say is bad is being there after 7-9. I’m usually pretty aware of what goes on, I didn’t feel like it was sketchy in the parking lot. It crossed my mind, but there were other cars and other trucks with trailers parked there.
