Excellent place to visit local artists and view their artistic talents. They have a cafe and workshops. They also have artworks for purchase. It’s really nice place to view different artworks as they have multiple galleries.

Fantatstic art and antiques galley. We walked there and back from the plaza in Centro. So many eye popping displays. I snapped these images before I realized they ask for no photos throughout. I feel like these images do not egregiously snub that request. I discovered many things. I discovered a few art classes and a new artist I will be following. Well worth a return!

Definitely left me underwhelmed. The overall vibe felt overly pretentious, like it was trying a bit too hard to come off as exclusive. It all felt more style over substance nice presentation, but lacking real depth or discovery. If you’ve visited similar stores in more design forward cities this one probably won’t surprise or excite you. In short, it wasn’t for me!

If you're in San Miguel, Mixta should not be missed. There are a ton of stores in the center of SM that are relatively all the same but Mixta stands alone. It is excellently curated and just so enjoyable to peruse. Anna the owner has fabulous taste, and also took time to give me a list of her recommendations of San Miguel. 10/10 recommend for a unique shopping experience.

Just came back from San Miguel and Mixta was my favorite store. It's a bit like a smaller version of Anthropologie, though Mixta's jewelry selection is much better. Very well curated collection of homeware, clothing, jewelry, and more. And love the way they have decorated the walls with colorful wallpaper.

Mixta is an absolutely beautiful store. The owner, Anna, has gorgeous taste and fills her shop with beautiful clothing, jewelry, bags and home decor items from all over Mexico and abroad. Casa Michoacana has a diverse selection of Mexican art. Any questions we had were expertly addressed by Denise. She made us feel like we were in her casa as we viewed the amazing collection.

Unfortunately, the dress I purchased during my spring of 2018 vacation was never delivered to my home address in Chicago. I paid $600+ US dollars and was told to wait 3-4 months. It’s been over 4 years and I never heard from the seller (white woman from Wisconsin). My husband purchased the dress for me therefore it was under his credit card. The card was charged, but he never pursued the matter. Only reason I’m able to take matters into my own hands has to do with the fact that I found the postcard from when the dress was purchased AND looked up the designer(s) Instagram page. I’m really hoping to hear from them soon. Otherwise, I would advise ‘buyers beware.’

Recommend! NOTE: No food! 👎New location in Live Aqua no longer has food or small plates mayo 2025. That directly affected us having only one cocktail 🍹 since we went intending to eat a light meal with our drinks. Disappointed. Suggest removing food items/food pictures from Google.

UPDATE The new location is amazing and the new menu drink is astonishing. It got even better! This is probably the dopest bar in all of San Miguel that truly embraces the Mexican charisma and passion for the flavors! I have been going here since the first time I went to San Miguel and I always make sure to reserve in advance because it always has a cool DJ playing and very interesting people gathering at the bar. The views are just stunning and I was just recently told that the mixologist there is kinda of a bad ass drink maker guru. The food is also buena and so close to the center of san miguel.

This is a HUGE market in San Miguel de Allende. We had a fantastic shopping experience and it's one market that should not be missed. Everything from meals to wheels are sold here. The produce was fresh, there were hats, shoes, clothing, pottery, jewelry, light fixtures, and trinkets of all shapes and sizes. The vendors were kind and not 'pushy' in any way. If you're a visitor to SMA, this is a stop for you. Even as a resident, you will find some terrific bargains.

This place is great. Lots of interesting stores, crafts, and vendors of all kinds. .Very helpful store owners. At the top level there is a very nice market for buying fresh produce. Also, some great juice and sandwich restaurants (right there on the edge of the produce) the sit down food court area is more hit or miss. Or at least in my experience.

I will be visiting in November to purchase a custom made robe, probably two! You can't go wrong with any item, you'll be supporting local seamstresses, and you're patronage will be most appreciated!

Abrazos has mainly beautifully made items like Hawaiian style shirts, aprons, oven mitts, baby bibs etc. In the past the main item was fabric by the meter. (39.3” x 44” for us metrically challenged.) I’d estimate they have about one fourth of what they had two years ago. Today I bought a meter of fine quality quilting cotton fabric made by Windham Fabrics, “Succulents” that I’m sure came from the US. I paid $380 pesos. Of course it is more expensive than the US because they had to import it. The fabric they have is all themed to San Miguel and Mexico. It is a nice store but if you are looking for a fabric store you might be disappointed because they only had about 50 bolts. The majority of those have to do with Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead.

I’ve just been there for the COVID-19 face masks in March 2020. They’re very-well made in-house and meet CDC standards. They’re also washable and maintain their shape extremely well. We couldn’t enter the shop then, but they quickly responded with a display of masks at the street door. That really helped when the pandemic was just getting started.

Cute store but expensive and most items have no price tags, which I don't like as it seems as if the prices can change depending on the whim of the salesperson. Also it's a hassle to keep asking the salesperson how much things are, so I didn't buy anything.

Prices are a bit high by San Miguel standards, but the clothing and accessories are unique. The super colorful fabric is Day of the Dead themes mostly: you'll find aprons, men's shirts, pot holders and tea towels and more.

Nice place, good products, nice fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds with good prices. Vendors were nice. I thought 20 pesos for the bathroom was a bit on the high side, but overall it was pleasant there with the live music and artisenal crafts. I REALLY appreciated that when I bought a bottle a water and forgot to get my change (from a woman cooking gizzards and livers in the open air area), a lady chased me down halfway across the market to tell me they were just making change and to come back for my change. We had a nice laugh about it, and I'll go back there to get some of whatever they're cooking just because I appreciated that honesty so much. After getting ripped off in other places, it helped restore some of my faith in humanity. There are still good people in the world and at least some of them are in Ignacio Ramirez.

Artisans, fruits 🍎 veggies 🥕 pollo 🍗 ropas y sombreros (hats) and small restaurants are all inside. Definitely worth a visit if your in SMA. Locals and gringos shop there so you know it’s legit.

It seems everything to buy is at least 30% cheaper than Centro shopping even when identical (and most is). Massive variety of gifts, household decorations, linens, ceramics, aprons, clothing, jewelry etc. etc. At the bottom of the market, keep walking straight through, to further market alleys, for rare costume jewelry and superb leather belts and also dolls, as examples... The top market is mainly fruit and veg, dried fruits and flowers. Should not be missed!

The sourdough is really good and the Bagels look amazing but aren't vegan so i couldn't have one. Everyone in the Bakery are very focused, reminds me of a East London hipster bakery/cafe. The Americano is the closest to what I call a Long Black in town. Great medium roast, super tasty. Would love to see some more vegan options as I would happily eat here as the food does look good.

Amazing new local bakery in a beautiful space on Stirling Dickinson. Delicious pastries and bread, and their first pizza night is coming up. They are letting their dough rise overnight and will be using high-temp ovens to get an authentic crispy chewy crust. Can’t wait!

If you would like to see some honest to goodness folk art, made by true Mexican artists, some of whose families have been making it for centuries, go to La Calaca. The folk art here is not the type of thing you will see in the Artisans Market – it is high quality work. And there is a good selection of really nice handmade hats (I bought one). The owner Evita has been in the folk art business for decades, personally knows most of the artists and has visited them all over Mexico, and can answer any question you have about the artwork.

This place is just beautiful to me. The food is amazing and my favorite dish is the grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoe soup and chimichurri. The consistency of the vegan cheese is just wow, it melts and tastes great. The green juice is so refreshing and good. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a vegan or non vegan, for vegans definitely go.

Absolutely the BEST vegan brunch in San Miguel de Allende and maybe the world. The food is divine and the service is super friendly. The birria is extremely flavorful and the grilled cheese sandwich is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. One of my favorite restaurants in San Miguel de Allende. I can't wait to dine here again when I visit again. My non-vegan friends loved this place. They wished that their French toast were thinner since the bread was very very thick. Lovely vibe and ambience with remarkable plant based vegan cuisine. The vegan cheese is beyond tasty and the consistency of real cheese is beyond. We loved the enchiladas and the stuffed corn bowl along with the pear, nut ensalada in which tasted like real blue cheese 🥗 this restaurant is beyond just like it’s brother restaurant Don Tacos Tequila which is also beyond beyond.

I came into this shop with my fiance and I didn't expect to buy anything for myself; however the pair of handmade leather boots I tried on were sooooo comfortable I just had to buy them. Amazing meal and experience at Quince. Alan, our server, took great care of us while myself, friends and family bonding over a long but well spent dinner. I will say that the only thing that bothered me was early on- I was a bit concerned due to the noise level of the speakers, loud chatty staff, and lots of unsupervised children, but as the time passed the ambiance got better. Highly recommend the aguachile appetizer, the beef risotto entree, and honestly would trust the bartender with my life after trying their special cocktail of the day.

Quince is a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view. We were a group of six and definitely needed to book a table in advance. I highly recommend the Aguachile de Picaña for a full flavor experience it really stands out. And for the picky eaters, the Rock Shrimp Tempura is a guaranteed win. You could honestly eat an endless amount of them. Great atmosphere, great food, and definitely worth a visit.

A wonderful upscale rooftop restaurant with unique dishes ( and familiar as well). The dish combinations, like the beef with yellow pimiento risotto was delicious. The lamb dumplings were interesting, but maybe needed a bit more of the wonderful cilantro sauce. The salad was refreshing with the lemmon vinaigrette, and the camarones a la parrilla were very tasty (maybe a bit spicy). For dessert we had an interesting version of a black forest cake, which had nothing to do with cake but every bite was heavenly. Beautiful presentation!. I was pleasantly surprised! I was expecting a small park, but this place is big with many different trials to hike and places to see. I spent about 90 minutes here, but could easily have spent double that. The entrance fee is only 100 pesos, and they offer a discount for teachers and students with valid IDs. There is a huge dam, waterfalls, rivers, plants, observatories, and much more. They have a gift shop with handmade goodies to help support their conservation efforts. It is well-kept, and the variety of plants and small insects is fascinating. Come prepared with hiking shoes, water, sunscreen and a hat because you can spend half a day here. I took an Uber there and back, or you can drive because there is plenty of parking. They also have clean restrooms and a small cafe selling drinks. The views are amazing, and it's perfect for a quiet getaway in nature.

We came to this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s 40th. Our group of 13 traveled all the way from the United States to Mexico for this special trip, bringing along a bottle of wine with special sentimental value. It was a gift from our friend’s late father, given to him on the day he was born. Unfortunately, the restaurant completely refused to let us open the bottle. We politely explained the significance and even spoke with the manager, hoping for a bit of compassion or flexibility. Instead, we were told we could only drink their alcohol. We offered to pay a large corkage fee — 5,000 pesos — and assured them we would still spend generously on food and drinks, but they wouldn’t budge. Their unwillingness to make an exception for such a meaningful occasion was disheartening. In the end, we left before even sitting down. You’d think a restaurant would value the business of a large group celebrating something so special, but clearly, customer experience isn’t their priority.

Owner has live in SMA for many years and is involved with the community and happy to share suggestions for places to go, things to do. Staff helps arrange transportation when needed. Whenever I’m visiting SMA and need a hotel, I will keep returning to Casa de la Noche. Highly recommend.

I have stayed in this hotel twice. Each for 8-9 nights. Both visits were very memorable. The hotel's location is very strategic, close enough to the jardin and the other attractions. Unfortunately Namuh did not meet our expectations for a very important project of us. We ordered three chandeliers made or iron and linen fabric and from the very beginning the communication with Namuh was always very difficult, they don’t communicate well with their costumers. Namuh doesn’t care about providing good customer service or products. They seem to exploit their artisanal sources on very simple jobs and charge thousands of dollars to foreign customers. We paid $7600 USD plus $2600 USD in shipping for three chandeliers from Mexico to the USA. One large chandelier came to us broken and in horrible conditions, the chandeliers were shipped in very expensive and custom made crates. when the crates were opened two chandeliers were damaged; one due to the poorly welding job, and two of them the fabric looked terrible and torn. It was not worth the 10k dollars that we paid. After filing a claim to the company and paying $700USD to re-weld the pieces that came apart from a local source, Namuh refused to pay the $700 bill of the poorly made chandeliers. My client was extremely upset for Namuh’s lack of quality and service. Namuh took two weeks to respond.. Erick Muciño the sales person said that he was surprised that the chandeliers came damaged reassuring that it has never happened before blah blah blah... and said that they couldn’t assume responsibility for the welding job that I had to do through an external source even though I provided him with evidence of the broken pieces and the invoice of the repaired damages, he simply said he will give me a 15% discount on my next order. I found his response insulting, distasteful and simply careless. I believe this company offers nice products, some of them too expensive, but the simple fact that they don’t take responsibility for their own damages makes me rethink their culture and ethics. I left with a horrible taste in my mouth because I really wanted this Mexican piece to be a focal point of our project. However the results were so bad, once we put up the chandeliers they looked cheap and horrible. We also had to electric wire them ourselves. UPDATE: We received our deposit on May 29th after 6 weeks of waiting and lots of texting through whatsapp. We do recommend this place for a wedding as it is a beautiful and romantic venue. We had our micro wedding here (very uncommon in Mexico) with 14 guests. It's incredibly spacious for 16 people and would be very well suited for a bigger group, but we enjoyed our time nonetheless. Lastly, it would be very helpful for them to communicate the reason for the refund process to clients to avoid and to save people from misunderstandings and/or frustrations. Products are clay so have a rustic quality to them yet there is nothing rustic about the workmanship and finish of each piece. The tableware is lovely but you can find comparable items from different sources in the US. However I have never found out door pots like these. The colors are beautiful and the variety of sizes from very large to small is impressive. They are very well priced here in Mexico but like shopping many places abroad the cost of shipping is expensive relative to price.
