In the charming city of San Miguel de Allende, Quince offers a chic rooftop dining experience with stunning city views. The eclectic international menu features classic dishes like fiambre and enchiladas mineras, as well as Mexican renditions of sashimi and tuna tartare. The venue also boasts an impressive wine selection to complement the diverse flavors. It's advisable to make reservations in advance for this popular spot, along with other renowned restaurants in the area such as Aperi.
We only came for desert. The molten chocolate cake was great, their cheesecake was more dense than we are accustomed to. We were celebrating and they brought a Panacotta with a sparkler on the house… very thoughtful. Very trendy place with a DJ. Great view of the Cathedral and out on part of the city. All the servers were very attentive. The blankets were nice as it was very breezy and we wanted to sit outside until the rain came.
Rick S — Google review
Amazing meal and experience at Quince. Alan, our server, took great care of us while myself, friends and family bonding over a long but well spent dinner. I will say that the only thing that bothered me was early on- I was a bit concerned due to the noise level of the speakers, loud chatty staff, and lots of unsupervised children, but as the time passed the ambiance got better. Highly recommend the aguachile appetizer, the beef risotto entree, and honestly would trust the bartender with my life after trying their special cocktail of the day.
Lauren B — Google review
Excellent experience! The food was delicious. The cocktails were too good. Brittney was very helpful! Such a great place to dine enjoying the beauty of SMA. Try Ceviche Verde and Frida Roll- they are too good.
Phoebs P — Google review
Quince Rooftop has been one of my top go to restaurants when in SMA. Aside from the breath taking views the food is exceptional. The entire staff really strives to make your visit one to remember. I went six years ago & again October 2025 both visits were memorable. Delicious food, drinks, ambiance....just what the soul needs!
Maira M — Google review
Great Food & wonderful views & a great place to celebrate a birthday or other special occasion! About $60 a person for our group of 6. We did have 2 appetizers, wine & dinner, plus 2 desserts. We had 2 birthdays in our group. And the entertainment was awesome! Tightrope walker & a violinist playing along to DJ music!
Virginia G — Google review
Quince is a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view. We were a group of six and definitely needed to book a table in advance. I highly recommend the Aguachile de Picaña for a full flavor experience it really stands out. And for the picky eaters, the Rock Shrimp Tempura is a guaranteed win. You could honestly eat an endless amount of them. Great atmosphere, great food, and definitely worth a visit.
Johanna — Google review
A wonderful upscale rooftop restaurant with unique dishes ( and familiar as well). The dish combinations, like the beef with yellow pimiento risotto was delicious. The lamb dumplings were interesting, but maybe needed a bit more of the wonderful cilantro sauce. The salad was refreshing with the lemmon vinaigrette, and the camarones a la parrilla were very tasty (maybe a bit spicy). For dessert we had an interesting version of a black forest cake, which had nothing to do with cake but every bite was heavenly. Beautiful presentation!. Every dish is prepared with finesse, and the flavors are close to a Michelin type restaurant. The impecable service, the quality of the silverware and dishes shows the care they put into this lovely restaurant. Prices are fair, with a $20-25 price for an excelent dish or $15 chicken Caesar salad. The Margaritas are also fantastic. I will definitely come back! No se lo pueden perder. Platos muy finos de sabores delicados o exhuberantes, bellamente presentados y excelente servicio.
Irene W — Google review
Food was good for the most part. We came for our anniversary and other service was terrible. Restaurant has great views with good live performances, but like I said the service was terrrrrrrrible. Waiting around a lot for some people to even assists us, had to get up several times for us to get assistance. Our drinks empty the entire meal. There is honestly a lot of mom and pops restaurantes that have been more attentive and impecable service. This restaurant is pricey and needs reservations for bad service, please safe yourself the experience. Our consolation price was a cake though

In San Miguel de Allende, rooftop dining is a must-do experience, offering stunning views and unique architectural beauty. Among the notable spots for a reservation are Quince Rooftop, an award-winning restaurant featuring sushi and delectable cocktails with live DJ entertainment. Fatima 7 offers veggie-friendly Mediterranean cuisine overlooking Templo de San Francisco, while ARTRIO serves Mexican-Asian fusion dishes near La Parroquia.
This was the best dinner we had in San Miguel. The view is INSANE and the service was absolutely fantastic. They asked in advance about allergies/dietary restrictions and/or special events and were incredibly helpful in making sure all our choices were allergy friendly. We were celebrating my birthday and they surprised us with an adorable sweet treat that was dairy free to accommodate my allergy :) a MUST VISIT!!! My favorite rooftop of our trip
Emma M — Google review
The view, the trapeez and violin show were amazing. The staff was attentive until it came time for the bill. We waited an hour to receive the bill after we asked for it. The food was delicious on some and miss on others. The sushi was so good as well as the birria appetizer. The seafood entree had a fishy taste. The party i was with raved about the burger and fries. The steak was also tasty. The drinks were fantastic. We ordered the house special and a guava inspired drink. You could tell fresh ingredients were used
Cynthia C — Google review
Great sunset views. Good service. Food was good. Expect 2,000+ pesos per person for a nice meal. Add an additional 2,000+ for a bottle of wine. Outside seating. Plenty of open seating but reservations are recommended.
Glue G — Google review
The view is stunning, drinks are really good but the food does not meet the expectations specially for the price. We paid almost 800 pesos for a tuna tiradito with a frozen (horrible) tuna. We also ordered an octopus starter, but it was a pizza with 4 tiny slices of octopus.

The views from this place are truly exceptional. The atmosphere and hotel are magnificent—a must-visit destination. We enjoyed drinks here and had a wonderful early afternoon break.

We really enjoyed our time there, the food was great and the service as well. Such a good spot to take photos and enjoy the views. They food was very fresh and you could tell they pay attention to the details in every dish, which we appreciate.

Great view with some yummy bites. Highly recommend the fish tacos.
Lupe S — Google review
Beautiful, but the most expensive and the worst meal I had in San Miguel during my 10 days here. Expensive, small portions flavorless and just overall not good. We were really looking forward to coming here so it’s disappointing. The views are amazing. The service was also pretty bad. I had to chase down our waiter a couple of times. Not a good experience and wouldn’t recommend, besides for drinks and a very scenic atmosphere. Very of the city are gorgeous.

Atrio Restaurant, located in San Miguel de Allende, is a standout dining destination known for its creative fusion cuisine and breathtaking rooftop vistas of the iconic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel. The restaurant offers a special dining experience with visually striking and delicious dishes prepared by a skilled culinary team. Guests can savor exquisite offerings such as succulent ribeye with smoky flavors and suckling pig paired with pear for a delightful balance of sweetness and savory notes.
Excellent rooftop, great view of La Parroquía, fantastic staff. Soft shell crab Baja taco is a surprising delight, and the roasted habanero salsa just perfect. Almond crusted tempura asparagus are creative. Croissant bread cube with rosemary butter is out of this world fantastic! Artichoke appetizer very tasty, and the Parmesan scallops smoke grilled over rosemary charcoal are amazing. Black squid rice and black pasta very flavorful and balanced without being fishy. Mini charred croissant dessert was almost as fun as the key lime pie. This is a menu I need to work my way through!
Samsunshine L — Google review
This is a great restaurant. Very tasty and very original plates. Each plate was delicious. Service was great. Location, the balcony facing the cathedral terrace is very nice. The only thing that is missing (for me) is good selection of desert. It is worth.
Simon K — Google review
We visited Atrio Restaurant as a large family group and were immediately impressed by the location. It’s perched on a rooftop right next to the cathedral, offering breathtaking views and a charming ambiance that really captures the magic of San Miguel de Allende. The drink menu was solid—plenty of cocktails, wines, and beers to choose from—and the atmosphere was elevated even more by the unexpected treat of a fireworks show during our visit. That moment alone made the evening feel special. As for the food, it was generally good, though not quite the standout we were hoping for. The “arroz negro” missed the mark for us, but other dishes like the ñoquis were delicious and well-prepared. Overall, Atrio is worth a visit for the views, the vibe, and the drinks. Just go in with moderate expectations for the food, and you’ll likely have a great time.
Gerardo F — Google review
Atrio combines fine dining, live music, and an incredible view of the church to create a memorable experience. The service was good, but it felt somewhat robotic. The tables were spaced so you felt intimate and your conversation was private. The food tasted good and was artfully presented. However, it was a bit rich, leaving my stomach feeling full. That’s more of me thing when it comes to meals at this price point. Atrio delivers at a high level, but I think you’ll find that it won’t be the best meal you indulged while in San Miguel.
Grish240 — Google review
This is one of our favorite rooftop restaurants in SMA. Great food, ambience, and service! Better view of the cathedral. It gets incredibly beautiful at night, the vibe, lighting - It is great for a date night for sure!
T I — Google review
We came to this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s 40th. Our group of 13 traveled all the way from the United States to Mexico for this special trip, bringing along a bottle of wine with special sentimental value. It was a gift from our friend’s late father, given to him on the day he was born. Unfortunately, the restaurant completely refused to let us open the bottle. We politely explained the significance and even spoke with the manager, hoping for a bit of compassion or flexibility. Instead, we were told we could only drink their alcohol. We offered to pay a large corkage fee — 5,000 pesos — and assured them we would still spend generously on food and drinks, but they wouldn’t budge. Their unwillingness to make an exception for such a meaningful occasion was disheartening. In the end, we left before even sitting down. You’d think a restaurant would value the business of a large group celebrating something so special, but clearly, customer experience isn’t their priority.
Brooke R — Google review
Go somewhere else. Food was plated nicely but bland at best. My Lechon con Pera was both bland and cold. The black pasta had an off smell. The service also left a lot to be desired. Drinks tasted bland, definitely did not taste top shelf as advertised. One of the servers handled one on our entrees with his bare fingers at our table. Management did not care when reported, I was only met with a blank stare and an uninterested "ok". The atmosphere and view were the only good elements. Will not come back
Carlos B — Google review
We’ve been here several times before, we were fans of the ambience and entire experience. No longer. Dia de Los Muertos so very busy time and having done this experience many times before, we were aware of the crowds. Thought I had made res here for rooftop drinks after dinner but my mistake-wrong Atrio. We were told bar seats were checking out and it wouldn’t be long then a bar table opened: as we were just having drinks and not eating we offered the table to a couple waiting, encouraged by the hostess that they were grateful for this gesture and seats were imminent at the bar. A seat on the Karma bus, so to speak. Not so much: within minutes we were encouraged to check out a sister property 3 doors down, told that there was no bar seat opening after all and we just passed up on some seats to ‘do the right thing’ for no apparent reason. The hostess replied to that assessment ‘yeah, pretty much’. We will return to San Miguel. We will NOT return to Atrio.

Nestled just a block away from the vibrant El Jardin central square, Mamá Mía is a delightful Italian restaurant that doubles as a lively bar and club. This charming spot boasts leafy patios where you can enjoy your meal while soaking in the atmosphere. Known for its eclectic live music scene, Mamá Mía features everything from jazz to salsa throughout the week, making it an ideal destination for night owls looking to dance and socialize.
Mama Mia is a super cozy and gorgeous restaurant with an amazing breakfast! My meal was under 300 MXN, and it was absolutely so tasty. The morning seating was quiet and peaceful, and the staff was so pleasant and welcoming. If you're looking for a delightful start to your day, you have to try this place. Enjoy!
Matty C — Google review
Cool environment. I have gone here a few times. Best time to go is for their breakfast buffet which i believe are mainly served on the weekends. This time around we did go during the week. We had a big group, 13 all together. We just walked in and there was space for us. The food is good. They had a happy hour for 2x1 on Wednesday (do not know if this is a daily special). The happy hour only included local beer and the lime margaritas. For bigger parties do expect a wait time on food and drinks. This may have just been our experience but we did have about a 20/25 minute wait time for both food and drinks. As previously mentioned we were a big party and we were walkin’s. This has definitely become more of a tourist place. Did not see many locals. Located about a 5 minute walk from the main church downtown.
K C — Google review
A really beautiful restaurant with delicious Italian food. Quite pricey but the serving size and the taste of the food makes up for it. It’s also a very instagrammable place. Quite like a garden. I think there are also nights when they have live musicians which could be nice.
Nicole — Google review
Food was decent, wouldn’t say I’d come back but if you’re hungry it’ll do. I think the tortilla soup and ribeye were the only good dishes, but had 2 people at our table send their steak back because it was uncooked. Service was good, yet I had to ask for utensils and an extra cup like 3 different times. The atmosphere is nice, there’s a small Mini split inside the bar area. And the patio is nice but we were unable to sit at the nice patio area, due to reservations. The Cesar salad wasn’t great btw!!
Irvin D — Google review
The atmosphere was amazing. Live music. Fast service. I wouldn't recommend the pizza. The cheese is different. Good soup and bread. Drinks were good as well.
Michelle D — Google review
This was our second time here, love this place over all! The food is great quality and not to mention the delicious mango margarita (frozen). They also have a happy hour I believe during the week. Prices are fair. My only complaint both times is the server tends to forget about his smaller tables. It is nice to see that the staff doesn’t change since it was a year apart from my visits.
Linda D — Google review
The food was great. The service was great too. Very nice relaxing place. Loved it all, but we did have an issue, the waiter was nice but once we paid the check we were going to leave the tip on the table ones he starts telling us that we should leave a tip for him. He starts giving us a small speech explaining to us that he has to pay the place 10% of whatever we consume so he kind of made us feel like we had to leave that tip. Which we did but we did not like that action he took. Still very nice place, but they should train the waiters not to make the clients feel they have to give a tip. I feel that should be optional.
Quetho P — Google review
This is Italian food with a Mexican twist. Food is average, ambience is great. Lasagna was not good. Crust of pizza needs to be cooked a little more. Steak was alright.

Zumo Rooftop Restaurant is a highly recommended dining spot in San Miguel de Allende, known for its stunning views and unique sunset experience over the city. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes made with high-quality ingredients and cooked with care. You can indulge in their tasting menu or choose from their international menu with traditional touches, featuring options like tuna tartare and shrimp aguachile.
Wonderful food and wine! The view is also lovely. I had the seabass, which was the fish of the day. It was amazing. My partner had the zumo salad which he loved. The wine, Malbec, was local and delicious. The service - they could not do enough for us!! Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Randi S — Google review
Great rooftop with a good view of both churches. The rooftop was virtually empty both times I went. They are listed as a "catering service" online which is maybe why they don't get the crowd but they deserve one!
Jasmine O — Google review
What a view, what an experience. High atop the streets of San Miguel de Allende rest this incredible jewel. With breathtaking views of the bustling neighborhoods, this restaurant doesn't skip the small details. With top-notch wait service and staff. They thoroughly explain in great detail choice items on the menu. The food presentation is amazing, and high-quality ingredients are prepared with an equal level of attention. Depending on the time of day or year, be sure to bring warm clothes as it can be a little cooler than one would expect. Overall, this establishment is definitely a must experience. I really can't think of anything negative or any drawbacks. 5+ stars for a 10 start dining experience.

Degustation menu was devine. Just arrived in San Miguel De Allende and had a recommendation from abroad, so glad we went. Modern take on Mexican cuisine with an artistic flare. The matched wines a fabulous surprise, not all local.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here last night. The views are absolutely stunning and the food and drink was delicious. Highly recommend the beef tongue! Our server Omar was so friendly and attentive, he did an excellent job! Must visit while in SMA!

Very attentive staff, beautiful rooftop, funky setting. Food was amazing, good selection of cocktails and extensive wine list. Amazing views! Carlos was a great waiter.

5 points for environment, 4 points for food quality, 2 points for value of food. The main issue is that I'm vegetarian and their menu was limited. I ordered a salad that was meant to come with crab cake, but I obviously asked for no crab. I think I still paid full price for what is pictured below...300 pesos for 150 calories worth of greens and a glass of wine seems excessive. That being said the staff seemed friendly, the views were good and the wine was decent.

Tío Lucas Restaurante Bar is a vibrant spot that perfectly blends dining and entertainment in the heart of San Miguel de Allende. Nestled across from the Angela Peralta Theater, this establishment offers an inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy live jazz, blues, and salsa music nightly. It's an ideal venue for couples or friends looking to unwind with delicious food and refreshing drinks without stepping into fine dining territory. The decor strikes a balance between stylish and cozy, creating an intimate setting that enhances your experience.
We ordered Ribeye steaks and they were delicious and cooked to perfection! The service was superb and the local opera singers held the space beautifully. Overall we had an amazing experience! The prices are very reasonable compared to other steak houses in SMA! Highly recommended!

Very fine Italian cuisine and Mexican options. Great service. Live musicians at all times of the day, and quality performances too. The only place after years traveling the world and Italy, that makes a superb Caesar Salad at your table. Great attention to detail; relaxed; great wines; perfect!
Theangusmcleod — Google review
A nice restaurant for meats and other international dishes, as well as some typical. It's well decorated but it was a bit messy when we arrived. They took us to a table that was not properly set, no napkins, but the server was fast and polite. I asked for the Picaña, but they didn't have it, so I switched to the medallions with blue cheese, which was cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. The music was perfect, not loud. Prices are fair for the quality of the meat.
Irene W — Google review
The food here is good. Don’t let the spoiled winery tourists turn you off. Tio Lucas runs a tight ship. The lengua in green sauce was excellent. The flan was very good as well. ( get it plain and not gussied up) My only complaint was that my mezcals were charged more than advertised on the menu and my mother’s St Germaine spritz was $16 US. Not OK
David P — Google review
Beware! If you order tacos with your choice of meats , they will charge you market price for the meat. Nowhere do they disclose that your taco plate will cost you 890 pesos! THAT IS $48 USD FOR ONE TACO PLATE. Outrageous. If you want to charge prices like that AT LEAST post the price. We will never return there. Those tacos were THE most expensive meal we have had in San Miguel.
Chandra F — Google review
There is good food in this town, but not here. This is Los Angeles diner Mexican food at SMA tourist prices. Food was bland, beer was warm, there was tinfoil in my salad (and no apology), the waiters were horsing around, all in all an experience to be avoided.

Good food. Good service. Does not have a wow factor. I would go again if someone asked, but not at the top of my recommendation list.

Pretty cafe, good menus both drinks and food Especially smth with lavender as they named their cafe. When I went there, it was a bit cold. And they gave me blanket to cover me which was so sweet! And they serve bread before we get food, it was really nice and smth like honey, i think it's guava ? Not sure, so so delicious. I wanted to take it with me haha And their drinks are good and the cake as well. Highly recommend!!

Love this place. Went here for a chai latte a week ago and have been back for breakfast 2 times since. Everything we've had was delicious. The apple marmalade that comes with the bread is delicious. Our servers were great both times. And the chai lattes are unbeatable. Can't wait to come back.

This place is very cute and a trully coffee shop. When you come in, you instantaneously feel the coffee culture and not just a trendy coffee place. It is a place that invites you to learn a bit above the average about the cup of coffe you will order. I guess, I liked all the love and science they put into the whole coffee bussiness to increase consumers' knowledge and awerness of all the work that is behind a cup of coffee you will enjoy at their shop. Besides, the details of the location and the baristas' technique to get you a beautifull coffee foam design, thats it is also impresive to see because it shows practice. I got a coffee husk latte that was exceptional and unique and also a delicious guava cake. I just visited this place to grab a coffee but they carry out breakfast that seemed also very tasty. I got there right when they open at 8:30 am, it seems that they get quite busy all the time and a line stats when they run out of space inside, but staff seems to manage people flow quite alright.

If you are looking for the best breakfast in San Miguel de Allende, with a relaxed and fresh atmosphere, this coffeeshop is your best choice! We loved the lavender latte, latte de cáscara, pan francés, pan de plátano, and fresh fruit. They also have plenty of savory options and refreshing lemonades. The service was lovely and even brought us two portions of bread with jam for free! 10/10 recommend! 🤎❤️ Especially on the third floor if you are looking for a rooftop experience.

Pretty good breakfast place! Loved the huevos rancheros! All the flavors of the dishes were yummmmm. Side bacon had no flavor

Good coffee for sure. If you are hungry, the Cazuela is very good. can be quite busy right there on the edge of the Mercado Artesanias. During our visit, the service was fairly slow. We were sitting up on the third level, and I think that they didn’t want to climb the stairs more than they had to.😅
Kevin M — Google review
I love the lavender latte here, it instantly calms me down from the smell and touch of real lavender on top of my latte foam. I will say, I expected more from the hype - it was recommended by everyone I know. I got the cazuela, and it was really good - again, nothing special and out of this world for the long wait line. As far as ambiance, maybe I was expecting a lot more again - I expected more garden vibes with lavender all over. But it was pretty basic, not much greenery. I did love their lavender cookie though, I highly recommend. It’s very sugary, but I just love the lavender icing on top, so good. I would come back for that coffee and cookie. 😍

Los Milagros is a laid-back restaurant in San Miguel de Allende that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a simple setting with a bar and patio. It's known for its authentic Mexican cuisine, featuring traditional dishes like tacos, enchiladas, and molcajetes made with fresh local ingredients. The restaurant provides a real Mexican experience with live music from Mariachi singers and generous servings of sizzling hot fajitas.
It's was the big place but looks local vibe It's close to the vibe which is big restaurant Tastes was good especially it's pasta , it's good experience,it was a little expensive though

Our G Adventures tour guide brought our group here. Great ambiance, especially with Lyka the violinist, she's amazing! Maybe they have live music here regularly? Our server was Manuel, very friendly, although he should've told us that all the portions were very big because none of us could finish our entrees, and since we're travelling, we couldn't take leftovers back to the hotel because we had no fridge. We asked our tour guide to give it to the homeless or someone in need. The molcajetes were fun to eat, but lots of food, so make sure to share, and the drinks were good. They have another location at a viewpoint for sunset, so that may be worth a visit too.

One of our favorite restaurants in SMDA🌟 While there are 2 locations we typically visit the one in Centro. The service & food is consistently excellent and you’ll often find live music playing, especially on weekends. Karen has waited on us twice and is always pleasant!

We enjoyed our visit to Los Milagros on a Monday night in late October. Large tasty portions (filete de pescado 🐠 y empanadas por mi esposa). Fair prices, good service and Monday Night football 🏈 on the TV. What more could a gringo ask for. Thanks for being VIP Club, Thats hope we found you. Recommend.

This is my second time at the restaurant. Great food, large portions, good service, and a good value for Centro. The food is more like Tex-Mex. The photo is cheese enchiladas with chili con carne sauce. Previously had the shrimp nachos which is large enough for two. The only negative is I took my leftovers and the next day realized they gave me somebody else's leftovers.

Wonderful food. Highly recommend The hot pot thing. We ordered the special one with shrimp. Yum yum. Drinks are welcome rpcied. Not expensive. Free nachos to start with.

Absolutely loved our dining experience here! The ambiance is amazing, perfect for a romantic evening or a night out. We ordered the Molcajetes with fish and shrimp, and OMG, it was delicious! The portions were generous enough that my wife and I had leftovers. Plus, the live music added a fantastic touch to our meal. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day for supper. Highly recommend!

Located in San Miguel de Allende, La Azotea offers a unique dining experience with its spectacular sunset views from the terrace. The restaurant is known for its unusual and delicious tacos, where a paper-thin slice of jicama serves as the taco shell, holding ingredients like shrimp with chipotle mayo, tamarind sauce, and crispy fried leeks. The jicama shell is described as tough enough to contain the fillings while being tender and crisp to the bite.
What a cozy and zen atmosphere! The service is exceptional, and the views are breathtaking. The chill house music creates the perfect vibe, making you feel like you’re on vacation and completely relaxed. Vivi San Miguel de Allende—it’s an experience you don’t want to miss! Let’s not forget that Emmanuel provides outstanding service to his guests. We’ve had only amazing experiences—the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere are all top-notch. Keep up the great work!

This is a fun little rooftop to get some drinks and tapas. It has views, the food was good, and the drinks were tasty. Was a fun little stop, mid day, to get out of the sun and have a refreshing drink to recharge.

This is a lovely rooftop restaurant in a great location. The food (primarily small plates and tapas) is excellent. They are well known for their jicama tacos and they didn't disappoint. I also enjoyed the croquettas and my wife loves the goat cheese and pear salad. The service was very good We will never return. Mexico has strong no smoking ordinances in place to protect the public health. We found it unusual that every table in the restaurant has an ashtray. It is illegal to smoke in restaurants in Mexico both indoor and outdoor spaces, yet it seems to be OK with management. When a gentleman at the next table lit up, our meal was essentially ruined. Even though we were outside, the smell continuously wafted in our direction. It's a shame. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant but because they cater to smokers, they probably lose more business than they gain due to not enforcing smoking regulations.

Please Go Somewhere Else.... After hearing mixed reviews of this restaurant I stopped in for a quick lunch this afternoon May 21, 2024 (4:00 pm-ish). The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing , the hostess was friendly... THAT IS IT. THAT IS ALL. Since everyone raves about the Jicama Tacos, I tried them. They were just OK ,they were BLAND and lacked flavour or seasoning. I had to ask for some salsa to spice it up a little. They simply tasted like fried shrimp, potato crisps and chipotle Mayo on a flat slice of Jicama... Nothing special. I then tried the Tuna Tostadas, they were a tad soggy, smelled fishy (fresh fish never smells fishy) and just NOT pleasant to eat . I only ate one, for fear of getting food poisoning. The highlight of my Unpleasant Experience was the server RAUL who did not smile ONCE while serving me, often rolled his eyes when I asked him a question and basically treated me like I was bothering him, even though the restaurant was EMPTY . Don't worry, I still tipped him. On the way out ,I saw a man who looked like he worked there he was at the bottom of the stairs with an earpiece in his ear, I mentioned to him how bad the service is and he just said "yea, sorry bout that" and continued his conversation with the woman he was chatting with. Real Top Notch service! :-0 Ladies and Gentlemen there are MANY wonderful restaurants in San Miguel De ALLENDE. PLEASE Don't waste your time or your hard earned dollars here.

Came here during a tour to try the shrimp taco with the jicama. It was amazing, we tried going back but were told we needed reservations. The view is great and the ambiance is lively. Make sure to make reservations and check out the shrimp taco!

We got the tacos del pueblo, very delicious, they give you a salsa that is 10/10. For drinks we got a Mojito and 2 tropical mules. The tropical mules were so so good, but something we noticed is that the drinks have a very low alcohol amount, so that was a little disappointing.
BRENDA V — Google review
A nice view of the sunset over San Miguel for sure. The Jicama taco was actually very good, albeit a bit pricey. They offered a 2 for 1 drink special on certain drinks. The service was ok, but friendly. A nice place to hang out for a bit.

Great little Rooftop restaurant/bar with a very cool vibe, beautiful wood floors, seating areas and two separate bars. The food was outstanding and the service was great. The whole area is pretty much cover and they have misters to cool you down during the day. They also have a great location, just off the square. They offer a large selection of cocktails and some of the best margaritas in the city. The food is not only very good, but the presentation is beautiful as well. Muy Bueno 😎👍

The restaurant features an exquisite menu inspired by regional Mexican cuisine, showcasing dishes from both land and sea. Its warm terrace in San Miguel de Allende provides a delightful sensory experience, making it a must-visit culinary destination in the area.
We were here for a social hour for a wedding and this place was excellent! The atmosphere was fun and the service was spot on. The margaritas were a little weak, but the food, the little street tacos were exquisite. Grilled crispy octopus, carnitas, a vegetarian taco, and a few others... And they just kept coming! Absolutely delicious, this place is not to be missed! The upstairs patio had a great view of the cathedral all lit up at night, and a DJ started to spin in the evening which really added to the whole atmosphere.

Incredible guacamole with dried meat, incredible salsas, and wine, chorizo queso fundido, tacos de barbacoa de res was ok, a little dry. Stunning view of the cathedral from the rooftop terrace. Don Ramón is a superb server!!!

So disappointed with the service. Our entrees took almost an hour to come out after we had finished our appetizers. We talked to the manager and they were only interested in us paying the bill. How can this happen for this caliber of restaurant? Clearly, it’s obvious the customer is not their priority. So sad to experience this in this beautiful establishment.

App was decent. Filet was on point. Chicken awesome. Mashed potatoes, while good, had a flavor added I couldn’t figure out. Chocolate cake was awesome. Old fashion’s were made perfect. Wine per my wife was great. Cosmo was ok Our server was amazing. Will definitely be back.

The place has an awesome view, great design and many seats to choose from! The upstairs area has a great view of the cathedral and other parts of the city’s rooftop! Staff where super nice and polite, how ever we had to ask 2-3 times for each item we order which was a little annoying! We only did desserts and drinks which were all good! Beware smoking is allowed here! A few people were smoking on the rooftop and it was a buzzkill! Cleanness: very clean Service: a little wonky Menu diversity: rather big menu Prices: fair Noise : dj music on Environment: awesome views! Smoking allowed Food: good

The service here was good and they were usually attentive and always accommodating to dietary requirements. The food was fine, nothing worth noting but not bad. The view from the terrace is quite beautiful and the ambiance was fun. We started with the pork tacos which were good but I feel like the focused more on presentation than taste. The volcán tostada was pretty good with bed of beans then meat and grilled cheese on top. The guacamole was fine but the artichokes were not great, I wouldn’t recommend ordering them. Lastly the grilled cauliflower was very simple but delicious. I would come here for drinks or if you don’t mind the food being okay.
Jose H — Google review
My friends and I had an amazing dinner here tonight. Jonathan was our server and gave us great service! We ordered the cauliflower and ceviche appetizers which were delicious as well as the octopus chicharron which was ok. Our favorite dishes were the shrimp and arrachera tacos as well as the grilled Mayan octopus. We were a bit jealous of the table next to ours which ordered the Mar y Tierra (Surf and Turf). It looked and smelled amazing and came with fun presentation. The view at sunset was beautiful son highly recommend going during that time.

I have had a wonderful dinner and time here at the bar. Carlos, the owner, is very friendly, full of stories, and personable - he’s the type who asks your name once and never forgets it. I ordered the jägerschnitzel, and, while it was actually a pork chop, I didn’t let that minor detail keep me from vacuuming it up and having to force myself from licking the plate. Let’s be clear, this is definitely an expat hangout. I spoke far more English than Spanish. Nonetheless, I’m extremely glad that I made the choice to spend an evening here, and would certainly come back on a subsequent visit. For American visitors, this feels like it would be the Cheers of San Miguel de Allende.

The eclectic decor features colorful walls, recycled wood tables, and a lively soundtrack, creating a fun and contemporary atmosphere. The bar offers an extensive menu of mezcals from various Mexican states displayed on mirrored shelves behind the bar. Knowledgeable bartenders can recommend options based on your preferences or the art on the label. Additionally, they serve classic cocktails expertly crafted to suit different taste buds.

San Mezcal, located at Recreo 88 in the heart of San Miguel de Allende’s Centro, is a mezcal lover’s dream, boasting an impressive selection of over 150 mezcals. While the majority hail from Oaxaca — as any aficionado might expect — I was drawn to the distinctive local offerings from Guanajuato and San Luis Potosí. If you visit, be sure to try one made from the region’s signature agave, *A. salmiana*, which delivers a unique and expressive flavor profile. The bar itself is clean, inviting, and run by friendly, knowledgeable staff who make exploring the menu a pleasure. While San Mezcal also offers food, my visit focused solely on savoring the spirit, making it an ideal spot for a dedicated mezcal tasting journey. For anyone seeking to experience the depth and diversity of Mexico’s agave heritage, San Mezcal should be at the top of your list.

Had reviewed this two years ago … but had never tried their food. The cocktails were amazing and the food delicious. It’s a small but intimate space with delightful staff. When the shepherds pie arrived I thought it was going to be to small - but the lamb was rich and dense in flavor. I left happy and full. The stout at 9% was great. The cocktails with Mezcal and activated carbon were fabulous.

Stopped in for a drink and a small bite. I had a mule that was pretty spectacular. They gave us an amazing salad as soon as we sat down and we ordered a chicken sandwich of sorts. That description makes it sound boring but it was phenomenal. Atmosphere was awesome and server/bartender attentive. A bit pricey compared to the rest of our trip but definitely delicious. We plan to be back!

San Mezcal is hands down one of the most amazing bars I’ve been to in Mexico. Their selection of Mezcal is incredible and the variety is unparalleled. I walked in as someone who though “hated Mezcal” and left a lover and connoisseur of this spirit. The owner Julio was super nice and offered so much knowledge! He taught us how to taste and enjoy Mezcal. The bar also offers traditional drinks and amazing food. I am a tough food and cocktail critic especially being born and raised in Mexico I know my tequila and Mezcal. This place is AMAZING. Not to mention the food! I am a big foodie that lives in Philly and goes out to eat every other day and this spot has made me want to move down here! Everyone visiting San Miguel should have the experience of San Mezcal. We came for dessert, coffee and tea so I can’t speak to the meals. However, the desserts were delicious and the presentation was the best I’ve seen since getting here. The prices are normal. Not cheap, but not too expensive either. The restaurant is in a nice courtyard with shops surrounding the outdoor seating area. Nice music at the perfect volume was playing. I would definitely come back.

We waited over 1.5 hours for below mediocre food. Don’t visit this restaurant - thoroughly disappointed. - The waiters don’t respect the time they promise. - The pasta I ordered didn’t have the vegetables stated in the menu. - Another person’s pasta was served cold and then merely reheated in a microwave. There’s plenty more restaurants in this city, don’t waste your time coming here.

Loved San Miguel de Allende. The people are lovely, the city is very clean, shopping is plentiful and it is very easy to maneuver. The history has been well preserved in San Miguel. I recommend trying the food in the Mercado if you want good authentic Mexican. The dishes from restaurants around Centro are good too, but cater to the American palate. I already miss the freshly squeezed and blended limonad!

OMG, what happened to them! I had a reservation for 5, birthday brunch with friends. Three of the give got served in an almost timely manner and the other two diners sat and waited. We waited so long that the three who had been served were fine eating. The lone waiter was asked repeatedly about the two orders, bagel and salmon, he kept saying one minute. At long last a completely inedible bagel and salmon was served. We think the salmon was defrosted in water. It was awful. Both plates were rejected and fortunately both were taken off the bill. The plus is that there was lovely live music.

If you find yourself near Broaster To Go, prepare to be tempted by the mouthwatering aroma of their fried chicken that fills the air. During my stay at a nearby AirBnB, I couldn't help but notice how everyone around me was drawn in by those irresistible scents. The crispy exterior and juicy interior of their chicken truly set it apart from any other place—it's a delightful experience for your taste buds! The crunchy texture combined with the freshness makes each bite unforgettable.
Forget that faux Colonel and his suspect claims of secret recipes, this chicken is far superior in every way. Crispy on the outside, fresh, juicy and actually tastes like chicken on the inside. Just fantastic, the queues of people who line up once they start frying probably agree with me.

Waited 20 minutes for a fresh batch of Chicken as the stuff they had looked old. Got it to go and only 1 of 3 pieces were from the fresh batch, as you could easily tell, even though we asked for fresh only! Even the fresh was not that good and tasted like plain batter fried chicken with no spices or sauces (out of sauces too)! Cole slaw was ok, fries and biscuit were also cold and old. Taco Lab is a popular eatery located in The Doce-18 Concept House in San Miguel de Allende. It is a collaboration between chef Donnie Masterton and the renowned Tacolicious restaurant group from San Francisco. The menu features creatively crafted tacos using locally sourced ingredients, such as Shot-and-a-Beer Braised Chicken, Guajillo-Braised Beef Brisket, and Charred Octopus.
This place has amazing VEGAN tacos!!! Tacos de Platano Macho, Jamaica, Nopales. O my god!!!! Great Michelada, amazing service and the rooftop has an amazing view of the greenhills. Service is amazing, such helpful and kind individuals. They also have pizza and other regular food which looked very tasty! 3 tacos for less that 5 dollars?!!! Must go! How good are the tacos? I could not wait to take a picture and then eat them... That's how good they are.

Let's be clear. This is not 15 peso street tacos. Street tacos are fantastic, but Taco Lab is gastronomic taco experience. We came because of the braised brisket taco, but honestly could have eaten a whole plate of any single one. Each taco was right on the money. Order the 5 pack and share. Then try not to go back for 5 more. The $250 pesos price tag might hold you back, but again, think of this as your gastro experience you'll tell all your friends about. If you're still hungry later, check out one of the locals stands and fill your boots.

The tacos are great :) I really enjoyed the fried fish one. It is located in a nice and posh area with other restaurants and shops. Worth a visit.

Wow! This was fantastic. Such great flavors. We had 5 different tacos and they were all delicious

So good. So, so so good. Pork Carnitas and braised beef were awesome but the octopus was incredible.

Good tacos but you are paying for the location. Street tacos are less fancy. But more tasty. However next door at Burdie Burgers, you can't go wrong with whatever you order. Don't forget to order the green beans...super tasty and hot fried.

First time there and it will NOT be my last. We loved the "3" Tacos and you can have them all different! We had a Vodka Martini /straight up and dirty! Delicious

The restaurant in Doce 18 Concept house is great but Taco Lab also catered for an event we were having in SMA (30 people). It was awesome - all our guests loved the spread that we had set up: Beef / Chicken / Veggie tacos, with an assortment of sides. And there was a really excellent salad that we ordered too. Universally well liked by our group. Beyond that, they were super easy to work with - really straightforward to pay and plan ahead. If you're hosting in SMA, or you have a house rented and are looking for a catered option. I really recommend Taco Lab.
