The Thai Elephant Conservation Center, located just a 30-minute drive from Lampang, is a government-run facility dedicated to the preservation and care of Thailand's elephants. Visitors can engage in various activities such as feeding and bathing the elephants, watching them create art, and learning about conservation efforts. The center also features daily elephant shows showcasing traditional logging techniques and painting demonstrations. Additionally, it hosts the annual Khan Tok Chang festival celebrating the cultural significance of elephants in Thai society.
My friend and I had a good time observing elephants taking shower with staffs, their performance and artworks. There are souvenirs shop, canteen and accommodations. They have hospital and nursery for elephants. We were on an elephant ride with a staff. It was a great experience
Vipawee L — Google review
Easily accessible from the main highway in any direction with clear signs that provide visitors with the necessary information on what is what and where, in both Thai and English languages. The entire land layout is divided into sections such as the elephant show, elephant hospital, elephant rehabilitation, and so on. There was no entry fee to the place, however, there are tickets stalls for different events. Because it was midday and hot, nothing much was happening other than elephant back riding which we couldn’t do as it was too hot for us and the elephants too. Elephants back riding costs around THB 140 for a 10 minutes journey. There were small restaurants and coffee shop serving limited selection of local dishes too. Strange enough, the majority of the visitors were locals and it looked like we were the only tourists there. It was very quiet and looked semi deserted, but it should deserve better.
Husain ( — Google review
This isn't an elephant show or entertainment park. There are limited activities, all focused on the deep relationship between elephants and Thai people. I've seen many foreign reviews alleging animal cruelty and forced behavior. Do you really understand "Asian elephants"? This facility cares for both domesticated and wild elephants, and I believe their methods are appropriate for the elephants' well-being and natural environment. Please don't judge based on a limited or biased viewpoint.
Pisanu.n — Google review
When we entered the ticket booth, I saw an elephant next to it walking freely. I thought the elephant would have some freedom and would be taken care of. When we entered the park, I saw the elephants being chained with a small metal chain. They looked distressed and wanted to roam around of course. They showed monotone behavior (head swaying from one side to the other, even the little ones) which tells me they are not being good taken care of. Later we walked to the bathing area. The keepers would hit an elephant with the hook. I already wanted to go out, but then we just walked away. It's a shame that this is how elephants are being taken care of in a conservation center. Give the elephants some natural ground to roam around with an electric fence/natural barrier. The hook and so on isn't animal friendly at all. For me it was a waste of money seeing they profit of this kind of behavior.

We visited Thai elephant conservative centre on a weekday and arrived early, so the place was very quiet with hardly any other visitors. It made the experience feel even more special and personal. There are two elephant shows during the day — we watched the elephants painting and showing different skills such as pulling logs, dragging timber, and even playing sports. The highlight for us was definitely joining the elephant bathing at 13:30. It lasted about 20 minutes and was truly one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. Being so close to these gentle giants in the water was unforgettable. Highly recommended if you want a unique and meaningful encounter with elephants in Thailand! 🐘💦

My visit to the Elephant Conservation Center near Chiang Mai was excellent and exactly what I hoped for. The atmosphere is noticeably peaceful , a huge plus if you want to avoid the typical tourist rush and chaos that can plague other spots. What struck me most was the large number of magnificent elephants and the genuine care they receive. The staff are truly friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their conservation work, which made the experience feel very professional and informative. If your travel goal is a quiet, respectful, and less crowded opportunity to observe elephants, make this center your top choice!
Usama S — Google review
elephant activities : bath, show, nursery, hospital, school. all staffs are nice.
ClothesForCloud D — Google review
This is blatant animal cruelty. Every elephant was tied up, and separated from all others, they had no access to food and water, and one of the baby elephants was struggling to reach a tiny puddle near it, and when it finally reached it it blew the water on itself. They looked over heated, standing in the sun trying to cover themselves with wet mud. Many were straining to leave their chains. I do not recommend giving this place any money. In the photo attached to this review, you can see multiple elephants, they are tied to chains which are approx 1 meter in length, they are physically separated from one another, and are not near to food or water.

Nature & Parks
Nestled in a vast and picturesque landscape, Chae Son National Park is a haven of natural beauty. The park boasts mountains, forests, and stunning waterfalls, as well as year-round hot springs that are a major attraction. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich forestland teeming with streams and wildlife. A highlight is the Chae Son Hot Wells, where natural hot water pools allow for unique experiences like boiling eggs or indulging in mineral baths.
Good hotspring with cold and hot water. You can buy raw eggs and boiled it as well. You can also take a bath privately, but for me the mineral foot bath is the best. Waterfall itself not far from here not recommend to swim at the waterfall since the hotspring will be better.
Grady L — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit, ended up spending most of my day here. There are 2 attraction in the main area: the Chae Son Hot Springs & the Chae Son Waterfall. The price is 200 TBH for foreigners, 100 TBH for Thais. The Hot Springs are extremely popular with domestic tourists. The main activities are boiling eggs, soaking the feet in the hot springs, and pickniking. The site is beautiful. Food and drink are available. The ticket includes access to a foot soaking area, small outdoor hot pools, and a stream where you can take a dip. The private bath areas are beautiful and cost only 50 TBH. Towels are available for rent. It's okay if you don't have a swimsuit, the rooms are fully private. There's also a massage pavilion, the price of a massage is only 200-300 TBH. You need to wait until a masseuse becomes available and they'll come get you, there's no front desk. For hikers, this is really an onsen first and national park second. There's only a very short path to the waterfall. The waterfall itself is unremarkable and swimming under it is prohibited. To get there, follow the stream up from the hot springs. The trail isn't marked so I ended up walking on the road. The trail is blocked beyond the 6th level of the waterfall. There was a signpost claiming that there's a 5km trail to the Mae Mon & Mae Khun Waterfalls. I couldn't find any info on this trail. There's also allegedly a "Mae Piak Nature Trail" somewhere in the park, but I couldn't locate this either. It's possible that the blocked off trail leads to these and you need to hire a guide to hike there. The park also allegedly has caves, couldn't get any info on them either. I gave it one star less because of the lack of hiking trails.
Antonija M — Google review
What an elegant park to visit. I almost thought I was back in Japan. It was that manicured especially in the hot springs area. The waterfall is impressive too with a small wall to the base leading up to the waterfall proper. Well worth a visit and can be easily combined with a visit the the sky temple, not 30 minutes up the road.
Maarten D — Google review
🌿 I visited the beautiful Chae Son National Park for 2 days and stayed one night at the campsite. If you’re driving from Chiang Mai, I highly recommend taking Route 1252. I mistakenly took the route through Mae Kampong village, which was very steep and challenging — not suitable for small cars like a Mazda 2 😄 🎟️ Entrance fee is 200 THB for foreigners, regardless of having a Thai work permit or pink card. Each national park in Thailand has its own policy, so always check ahead. The park is great for kids, with hot springs and a waterfall to explore. As other reviews mentioned: the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. 💦 I definitely recommend taking an onsen bath at the hot springs — mine was 40°C and incredibly relaxing. They allow you to soak for 15 minutes, which was perfect. ☔ The only downside during our stay was the heavy rain, but despite that, we still had a lot of fun here. Highly recommended!
Koen G — Google review
Great place to relax! Big and scenic area with multiple hot springs. You can boil eggs, have a picnic, massage and soak in one of private onsen cabins. Also there are bungalows for overnight rent. Foreigner entrance fee is 200 THB. Visit date: 26 Oct 2025
Alexey S — Google review
This is a chance to experience a real hot spring. You can see a lot of locals and the view is beautiful. It is worth a visit.
Jung-Woo C — Google review
Hot spring was fantastic, boiled some eggs while there, and enjoyed a great classic Thai massage.
Juul L — Google review
Great experience to feel the warmth coming from the spring and be able to use it for footbathing. You can rent a towel for 20 BTH. People buy eggs at the 3 shops higher up inside the park itsself and slowboil them in the hot water. You can also find a waterfall there with a trail besides it that goes far up. Very affordable entry, 200 BTH per adult (think it was 50 BTH for resident and 20 BTH for parking or the other way around). Only the road to there from Chiang-Mai was very long through the forest (2h almost).

Baan Sao Nak is a historic teak-wood Lanna-style house built in 1895, featuring traditional furnishings and architecture. Restored multiple times, this remarkable structure stands on 116 wooden posts and once served as a resting place for important visitors to Lampang. The house reflects the influence of Burmese and Lanna architecture, showcasing the wealth of Lampang's teak barons.
A historical house to understand history of Lampang. Great place for chill out for 1-2 hour. The architecture of the building is unique and reflect the traditional of Thailand architecture.

You can see how they lived before, and know why the house they build like that. The entrance fee are 50, but they said those money is for those poor people. It's such a nice things.

A good example of a large traditional Thai House. 50 Baht entrance but you do get a delicious tamarind juice drink and some local rice cracker snacks which are very tasty.

Would have been great if I could take a visit inside, but unfortunately it was closed. Wish they could at least specify the opening hours.

Nice teak house museum and garden to visit to feel of vintage Thai-styled house.
Pamorn G — Google review
Baan Sao Nak is great! It's an old teak wood house that's currently buckling a little under the weight of the wood. It was a rich family's house but now they turned it into a museum, which I think is really cool. It's only 50 baht, and it's the same price for Thai people and foreigners. The lady that gave my tour was friendly and helpful. And the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The price of the tour includes a small traditional beverage and some rice crackers. It's great value.

Traditional Thai building , comfortable atmosphere , ticket include a cup of tea and rice dessert. When I visit here , it will hold a wedding ceremony, it's amazing to watch them how to prepare wedding.

Very good place that you could learn how the Lampang citizen lived in the past. You could found several antiquities. Together with warm welcome from staff with Thai crispy rice cake and herbal drinking. Very good taste!!! I ever visited this place twice!

Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum offers guided tours of a traditional, hand-painted rice bowl factory. Founded by Mr. Phanasin Dhanabadeesakul, it honors the family's forefather and showcases the legendary rooster bowl of Dhanabadee. The museum aims to conserve arts and culture while promoting ceramic knowledge for visitors interested in observing modern ceramic production processes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour of the Ceramic Museum. It was fascinating to learn about the history and to see the old dragon kiln. We bus have a new appreciation of the bowls our noodles come in. Well worth the 100b entry fee which also gave us a discount at the shop and the cafe.

This is a good place to visit but our tour felt rather rushed. Would be nice to be taken round with enough time to read a bit more of the information or be able to go at your own pace. Tour guide was good though and informative for the main information that you require. The shop was reasonably priced.
Robert S — Google review
An interesting museum focused on ceramic manufacturing in the Lampang area. The entrance fee is 100 THB, and guided tours are available every hour. About 50 meters from the museum, there is a shop with huge variety of ceramic items to sell. The highlight for us was the workshop, where we could paint mugs and plates. After painting, the items then fired and delivered anywhere in Thailand. Ours arrived in Chiang Mai in about 10 days.

Katie is very informative and fun to communicate with Thai and English. She would take time to show detail for more info.
Aroon O — Google review
Place is ok. Guided tour is LOUSY, GUIDE IS DISRESPECTFUL. Note: I am a single foreigner visiting. 1. I was moved halfway through my tour (only me in the group) from an English guided tour to join a later group (Thai guided tour) because the guide taking me needs to attend to a new larger group. I was promised that English explanation will still be provided. 2. Joining the Thai group who came after me, the guide provided lengthy explanation in Thai and was very brief in English. Unless English is so efficient as a language compared to Thai, else, I can only assume the guide is not interested in providing explanations to me (the sole foreigner in the Thai group). 3. Tour guide stopped English explanation halfway. When I raised my concerns that she has stopped her English explanation, her reply was the Thai group was in a rush and I have alot of time. She will focus on them and will come back to me when she finishes with them. What makes her thinks and assume I have time? Even if I do have time, it doesnt mean I must be treated unfairly to the group whom came after me. The promise is to hold the tour in both language. I took time to come earlier but you choose to ignore my concerns and insist on dropping English explanation halfway. How the guide conducted herself in my opinion is totally disrespectful. To the company: These are my 2 cents worth. 1. If you dont have the resources to take single tourist, dont do the business because no point making me pay and you move me to focus on larger groups. I get that you only have 2 tour guides (that's what I was told). 2. If your guide is only interested with local Thai groups, dont take foreigner tourist (like me). Its unfair. I assume we paid the same fees and for me, I took an interest in trying to understand more only to walk away feeling lousy. Its disrespectful of my time when your guide ignores my concern and continue her way to stop English explanation halfway. My time is equally valuable. Shouldn't she assume that I am also in a rush because I came earlier? Anyway, these are facts and opinions of my own. To the single tourist, your money, your time. Again, place is ok. NOT THE GUIDE. WR, Jk
Jit L — Google review
Thanks katie for this great tour ! We learnt a lot on porcelain production and what a story ! Congratulations.
Julie C — Google review
I recently visited this museum after seeing all the glowing 5-star reviews online, but what a disappointment! It quickly became clear that many of these positive reviews are fake. The exhibits were poorly maintained, there was little educational value, and the staff seemed uninterested in helping visitors. It felt like the museum was more concerned with creating a false image online than actually delivering a quality experience. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time or money here. It’s sad that they resort to using fake accounts to boost their ratings instead of improving the experience for guests

Chaloem Phra Kiat Park Mueang Lampang is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city, offering a serene escape for both locals and travelers. This charming park features well-maintained stainless steel fitness equipment, making it an ideal spot for those looking to stay active while enjoying nature. With its tranquil atmosphere and picturesque surroundings, it's perfect for leisurely strolls or invigorating workouts. The park's peaceful ambiance allows visitors to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Definitely worth the trip from Chiang Mai or Lampang. Incredible feat to build these Chedis on top of these mountain peaks. Have spent 18 months in Thailand over 10 years and this is in my Top 10. Must take the Taxi 100 Baht up from the lower temple. Hold on tight!!!! From where the taxi drops you off at the top, you will need to climb another steep 500m up on your own. Well worth the trip and the climb. Nothing else like it in Thailand and maybe the world. This is VERY UNIQUE and picturesque.

Lampang, located southeast of Chiang Mai, is renowned for its iconic horse-drawn carriages. Visitors are encouraged to take a leisurely tour around the peaceful city on these charming carriages. The service typically offers small rounds for 200 baht, large rounds for 300 baht, and an hour-long ride for 500 baht. The starting point is in front of Thip Chang Hotel with morning departures at 10:00 a.m.
Super. One houre to Wat Phra Kaeo and back and see much of the city.

Cruel...sadly paid for a trip (30 mins) but little surprised to see how small the horse was. After 5 minutes the guilt got to my wife and I and we abandoned the trip. I'm sorry horse, it was very cruel of us to take advantage of you, we will be better people in the future. 😢

Lang M — Google review
(Translated by Google) This time, I got to try riding a horse carriage around Lampang for the first time. The atmosphere was great. Luckily, the weather was not hot, the sun was not too strong, the sky was overcast and it looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't rain. The clouds helped block the sun just right. The wind blew gently the whole way. The ride was very comfortable and enjoyable. The horse carriage slowly passed old wooden houses, old temples, and small streets that still had a clear sense of the old city. It's a pity that some places have closed due to the impact of COVID-19, but overall, it still has a lot of charm. The uncle who drove the horse carriage was very friendly. Along the way, he told us about the routes and important points. Some places also had stories or interesting history to listen to. The fare was not expensive. I chose a large round trip (it took about 30 minutes and crossed the river) for 400 baht per round (can seat 2-3 people) depending on the size of the people and the horse carriage. There were many routes to choose from, both short and long round trips, suitable for both first-time visitors or those who want to bring children to experience new atmospheres. Overall, it was a good experience, which is a unique characteristic of Lampang.

Excellent museum that offers free admission. It hosts a lovely exhibition on the history of Lampang, the different styles of architecture that make it a unique city, and some nice pottery. It is quite child friendly and there is quite a few translations into English, so it is quite a good spot to learn about history even if you don’t speak or read Thai.

This is a must see if you're visiting Lampang. Very well done and very interesting to learn about the history and how the area has been shaped over the years by different peoples. Lots of interactive features as well so it's good for all ages. And it's free

Love this museum - nice and clean people are friendly. Great to visited and know about history unique city of Lumpang. Love this city ❤️

Museum is enlightening. Give you an insight of Lampang making your visit more meaningful. Like it's said, you haven't been to Lampang until you go on a one horse power ride.
Ronnie H — Google review
Small museum but very interesting and informative. History of the early inhabitants is outlined, along with the history of the newcomers (British, Burmese, Chinese). Also an interesting exhibit explaining the subtle differences between dialects of the region (no wonder my rudimentary Bangkok language skills don't get me far up north!) Many interactive exhibits geared towards children, with most writings translated into English. Plan on 30 to 60 minutes here, depending on how much reading you like to do in museums. More if your children are engaged. The museum is free to enter.

Nhong Krathing Park is a spacious and inviting park with a clean and pleasant atmosphere. It features large shade trees, a serene lake, and a well-maintained playground for children. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, jogging, or biking around the 600-meter path encircling the lake. The park is family-friendly and even welcomes dogs. On weekends, visitors can find food vendors and occasional performances adding to the lively ambiance of this beautiful park in Lampang.
I recently had the chance to stroll through a peaceful and shady garden. The atmosphere was so refreshing — like stepping away from all the chaos of daily life. Colorful flowers, fresh green trees, and the gentle sound of birds created a truly calming vibe. If you’re looking for a place to relax or a beautiful natural spot for photos, this garden is a perfect choice. Just walking around gave me so many ideas and a boost of positive energy.

An enjoyable space for brisk walking exercises especially in the morning. Suitable for families too l, including those with children as there is a play area. I was here during the mornings of the weekend and there was a wide range of interesting pop-up stalls with food, beverages for breakfast and to take home. Also was entertained by a bunch of seniors singing happily with music on stage!
Peter P — Google review
Good for family with kids and senior persons. Live local music on the weekends. Food stalls everywhere. On Sundays, I heard that there is a baby elephant coming till afternoon, for kids to take pictures. However, baby goats are here on Sat-Sun, basically. You can feed them at only 20 thb. per a bottle of milk. Super cute goats. Goat milk ice cream is great also.

A recently fixed up park (last 2yrs according to a local friend). 600m directly around the little lake, and very busy with runners early evening (before dusk). Nice place to come for a walk or run. Also has a nice playground for kids. Very family friendly.

National park
Doi Khun Tan National Park is a vast and diverse park with multiple elevations, featuring lush forests, diverse wildlife, and a variety of flowers. One of its notable attractions is Thailand's longest train tunnel, which stretches 1.35km through tropical jungles. Visitors can explore bamboo forests, wildflower meadows, orchids, and lily flowers while hiking up one of the four mountain peaks within the park.
There are two campgrounds. I was at the base campground. Yaw 2 is another campground where is higher and you can reach there by walking around 1.5 km. The entrance is closed at 5 pm for Yaw 2 campground. I did a hiking to the viewpoint around 5 km from the entrance . (they around you to park the car near the entrance, 2 km from base camp). The nature along the way is nice. The top of the mountain is also very nice.

nice trail... clean and easy to reach by train you may walk up to the top (Yaw.4) but bring additional drinking water

Doi Khun Tan Mountain is a peaceful escape with fresh air, lush greenery, and colorful flowers blooming all around. 🌸🌿 The views are stunning, the atmosphere calm, and you can also enjoy tasty local food. A perfect spot to relax, hike, and connect with nature. 🌄✨

Arrived by express train from bangkok. Hired a truck from one of the food stalls to get up to the national park. Walk the trail, which is around 10 km round trip. The restaurant here closed early around 4pm so ordered food ahead. Nice NP lodging. Easy to moderate trail.
Vithida S — Google review
I visited this national park at the end of Nov. I stayed here for 3 nights and was very happy. There are many wonderful things abt this place and besides also has some inconvenience. However, i still love it so much and surely will be back next year. My notes hope it would be helpful: - The weather was still not too cold, temprature from 19 -25c degree. - There was no streetlights at night, just the lights from headquater, so it was perfect for stargazing. - Glorious sunrise! Though I had to get up at 2.30 am to climb the mountain. It completely deserved. Btw, I did not camp in Yaw 2 camping site as most of people did. I stayed in a bungalow, that's why i had to get up early. And i was a solo traveler, i think this place was quite safe to walk at night even being alone or no streetlights. - Wonderful sunset! For sunset, you can watch from the main restaurant or from the hill opposite. - Staffs here were so nice and friendly. Not all of them spoke English and I did not speak Thai, we used Google translation to understand each other and they were willing to help and gave me useful advices. I really appriciate that. - There was not many visitors on weekdays, so it was quite quiet, just sound of birds, insects and wind. - The map and signs were all clear and detail, so if you follow the map, you will not be lost. The hiking trail was well maintained and easy to walk. - Restaurant: food was good and price was reasonable, staffs super friendly! - Only 1 restaurant (welfare store) open on weekdays, so you must walk a little bit far if you need to buy meal or drink, except you stay in bungalow area or Camping site 1 (temporaly closed). On weekends and public holidays, maybe they open 1 more restaurant and some food stalls in camping sites. - In Yaw 2 camping site (people often camp here) only had toilet and bathroom (no food stall, no lights, no electric, no guards, no internet), so you need to prepair everything before you climb the mountain. - Most of the bungalows are near the paved road, sometimes you hear the sound of vehicle, but not too noisy. - The restaurant opens from 7am -6pm, but it is quite flexible, so you should come after 9 am and before 5 pm to make sure it open. - I took the train from BKK to Khun Tan station. From the train station, there was a nature trail to get to Doi Khun Tan national park (1.3 km -abt 30 mins walk). Buy ticket 100 bht for foreigners at the main gate. After that, go to Visitor center, you can ask staffs here whatever you concern and rent bungalow or tents if you need. - There was a paved road for vehicle from visitor center to Nature trail and there was a parking lot at the starting point of Natural trail. From here if you want to get to the summit of the moutain, you must walk. From the starting point of Nature trail to the top, you will pass: Yaw 1 (abt 200m -5 mins walk), Yaw 2 (1.5 km -30 mins walk from Y1), Yaw 3 (3 km -1h walk from Y2), Yaw 4 -summit (1km -20mins walk from Y3). - There was a trail from Yaw 2 to waterfall and then back to headquater, it was slippery, far, whole route is over 4.5 km and took me over 3h trekking and it was a small waterfall. Best time to visit is rainy season (Jul -Nov).
Han N — Google review
A definite middle of nowhere viewpoint. Quite a site. You can take the morning train to this place and the afternoon train back to Chiang Mai. There is coffee and the usual Thai snacks and food. You can also view the tunnel and go for a hike up to the national park. If you’re up at the national park, you can walk down to the train station, but I would start at the train station if I were you.
Jamie T — Google review
1. Convenient Travel: You can easily reach this place by train from Bangkok. I recommend booking a first-class or second-class seat for a comfortable journey, which takes around 10 hours. 2. Beginner-Friendly: The hike to the camping area is approximately 5 km, with an additional 4 km to the viewpoint. You can wake up around 4 am to reach the viewpoint in time for the sunrise. 3. Local Shop: There's a local shop before the tent camping area. While prices might be slightly higher than elsewhere, purchasing here supports the local community. 4. Cooking Restrictions: Cooking is not allowed, but you can boil water.

Renowned for its exceptional beef meatballs, or lookshin neua, the restaurant has been delighting locals and visitors alike for decades.

Title: Unpleasant Experience - Miscommunication on Meat Inclusion “I had a first-time visit with a disappointing experience. I ordered เส้นเล็กเนื้อ and เกาเหลาเนื้อ. Unfortunately, the เกาเหลา only had meatballs, which were correct, but the other bowl with เส้นเล็ก included the meat as ordered. My partner asked why others had meat in their bowls. I inquired with a waiter, and one mentioned that only the pork menu includes meat. So, I ordered an additional bowl of เส้นเล็กน้ำหมู. However, the pork came with only meatballs again, revealing a mistake. Another waiter explained that for meat, we should order ‘mixed’ or ‘รวม’ when placing the order. The waiter disclaimed responsibility for any additional costs caused by us. I’m willing to cover all costs incurred, but I wanted to share this experience with fellow tourists and the owner. The waiter contributed to a bad experience with our orders, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.”

Guided tours of the creation process in a factory producing traditional, hand-painted rice bowls.

Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum is a perfect place to get a first hand experience on how to make a chicken bowl. The process was founded way back from China and brought to Thailand. The designs and details were meticulously hand-painted. Because of their unique techniques, it made the city as one of the exporters of chicken bowls and ceramic creations in the country and overseas. Plus, you can see a bowl made out of real gold. Be sure to check it out. As a tourist, it is definitely an additional to your list when visiting Chiang Mai! My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lot!
Isabella R — Google review
I recently visited this museum after seeing all the glowing 5-star reviews online, but what a disappointment! It quickly became clear that many of these positive reviews are fake. The exhibits were poorly maintained, there was little educational value, and the staff seemed uninterested in helping visitors. It felt like the museum was more concerned with creating a false image online than actually delivering a quality experience. I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time or money here. It’s sad that they resort to using fake accounts to boost their ratings instead of improving the experience for guests

What a great place to visit! I realy enjoyed rhe tour of the factory. They offer tours in english. You walk in the factory and see how everthing is made.
Michal A — Google review
Not really sure what the negative reviews are on about, this was the highlight of our visit to Lampang and was absolutely worth the money (100 baht entrance fee). There are guided tours every hour and our guide, Fay, was amazing, speaking in both Thai and English to the group. She and the other staff were also very friendly and helpful with answering questions we had about our time in Lampang. You get to learn the whole history and process of the chicken bowl, which is still made by hand at the museum/factory today. If you’re interested in history, arts, culture, you shouldn’t miss it!

Katie is very informative and fun to communicate with Thai and English. She would take time to show detail for more info.

Such a great place to learn about the history of pottery in the area! Our guide Noon was so so so nice (and she actually let me go through the tour a second time because I wanted to take more pictures! Thank you Noon!) and it was a great place to learn about a piece of pottery that may seem everywhere but actually has such a unique history! Entry was 100 BAHT per person too!
