Historical landmark
The Mount, once the residence of renowned author Edith Wharton, is now a National Historic Landmark and cultural center. The estate offers tours of its gardens and interiors, along with rotating exhibits that provide insight into literature and life in the early 20th century. Additionally, visitors can partake in ghost tours of the property. The grounds also host various cultural events throughout the year.
Fascinating place to learn about an interesting decade in Edith Wharton‘s life. Interesting to hear about the family and a small slice of the Gilded Age history. We had a nice lunch on the outside patio overlooking the gardens. The gardens have been restored and although not my style, two symmetrical for me, it was a fun place to visit.

Beautiful, historical location with great walking trails and gardens. There is a nice bookstore/gift shop and a cafe. The staff on site are very knowledgeable and friendly. We did the self guided tour and that was nice to go at your own pace. There was a great 13 minute video to watch in the stables at the beginning of the tour. There was plenty of material in each room to learn about Edith Wharton and her life there. We heard part of the guided tour and it was so informative and contained lots of details; would recommend that if that is what you like. The grounds were beautiful and there were lots of spectacular views and places to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

This was a beautiful detour. We managed to go during a Bank of America 'On Us' weekends so we were exempt from the fee ($23 for adults, I believe). The grounds are beautiful, with a French gardens and Italian gardens manicured into picturesque perfection. The house is maintained beautifully, the information inside it was clear, and concise, and the rooms maintain a lot of charm. The sculpture garden in of itself is worth the trip, and we recommend the bookshop.

We came on the most beautiful sunny, 75F slightly breezy Saturday. Sublime. It’s free to enter and walk around the grounds. Well behaved dogs on leash are welcomed. We spent about an hour walking around the well-maintained forests and gardens surrounding the house. In addition to the well kept grounds, there’s a variety of sculptures to discover as you wander about. We will definitely come back!
Vicky Z — Google review
We went here years ago and live jazz music on the deck and amazing barbecue was served. The home is beautifully kept with historic relics and interest around every turn. My mother, husband and our young children all enjoyed it, though they’re not fans of hers specifically, they loved it too!
J G — Google review
In the area for a wedding and googled 3 hours In Lenox and The Mount came up. The grounds a free and beautiful to wonder, and had a sculpture garden! I didn’t have time for a tour of the house but I was able to pop in to use the restroom and from what I saw it was stunning. If I had more time I would I have taken the tour.
Carri D — Google review
We were lucky to visit The Mount on a beautiful October day, so that we enjoyed not only the fascinating tour of the house and of Edith Wharton's amazing life, but also could take an al fresco lunch at the Terrace Café with panoramic views and then stroll the extraordinary gardens & grounds. Allow time for the outdoor art and for the bookstore & gift shop.
David B — Google review
We visited The Mount for the first time today. This is the home of Edith Wharton a prolific author and woman way ahead of her time. She was the principal designer of the gardens and home which are truly stunning. We were not able to tour the inside of the home this visit but thoroughly enjoyed the trails, gardens and sculpture exhibit. The outside is impeccably maintained. This is a hidden gem that you do not want to miss.

Shakespeare & Company, nestled in the Berkshires, is a renowned live theatre company with a rich history dating back to 1978. The company stages an array of Shakespearean plays and works by other classic and contemporary playwrights across its three performance spaces, including outdoor shows during the summer months. Founded by a group of young actors under the guidance of Tina Packer, it has since evolved into a vibrant ensemble of over 150 artists.
Attending the Shakespeare Company's production of The Comedy of Errors was an experience that left me utterly blown away! The actors and actresses delivered performances that were nothing short of hilarious, capturing the essence of Shakespeare's wit with impeccable timing and infectious energy. Each character was brought to life with such charm and comedic flair that the entire theater was in stitches from start to finish. The stage design, reimagined as a vibrant circus, was a stroke of creative genius. The colorful, whimsical sets and costumes perfectly complemented the chaotic and farcical nature of the play, adding an extra layer of visual delight to the performance. The circus theme was not just a backdrop—it was integral to the storytelling, creating a dynamic atmosphere that enhanced the humor and energy of the production. As always, the Shakespeare Company delivered an unforgettable experience. This production of The Comedy of Errors was a masterclass in comedy, creativity, and pure theatrical joy. It’s the kind of performance that stays with you long after the curtain falls. Simply outstanding!

I've been here before and had a great experience watching productions of Shakespeare plays. 2025's Romeo and Juliet is awful. Terrible directing (aiming for humor and doing it badly), terrible overacting, terrible voice work (including a lot of screaming) and bad casting. All under the guise of modernizing the play. Which would be fine if done well but it wasn't. I felt sorry for parents who brought tweens to see the show hoping for their kids to appreciate Shakespeare. Teens who enjoy South Park might enjoy this version. Unfortunately now I'd be reluctant to take a chance on coming back.

Multi-faceted talent was on display today during an amazingly versatile production featuring superb physical animation on stage. This phenom more than made up for the limited amount of overwhelming visual or auditory stimuli that were so skillfully trimmed from this sometimes raucous play. Kudos to everyone involved in making this delightful performance the fantastic entertainment I stumbled upon today and quickly turned into the highlight of my weekend!🎭🤩🍀

Just spent an evening at the Arthur S. Waldstein amphitheater at the Shakespeare Theater campus in Lenox. Saw "A Comedy of Errors", which was very entertaining and well performed. This is a smaller outdoor theater with about 200 seats. The chairs are comfortable canvas. The only negative is that as the evening grew dark, the mosquitoes came out, so either wear long pants and sleeves or bring some insect repellent.

Nestled in the Berkshire countryside, Mass Audubon's Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary offers a stunning natural landscape to explore. With over 1,000 acres of forests, meadows, and marshes, visitors can embark on nature walks and rugged hikes while keeping an eye out for resident beavers. The sanctuary features 7 miles of nature trails that wind through native Berkshire flora and fauna.
This is an excellent place to come and enjoy some outdoor hiking. They have a number of tails to explore, but I recommend checking out the trail that goes around the pond. There are a few beaver dams to check out up close which is super cool, and gives you a good chance of seeing some aquatic wildlife. The trails are unpaved but are easy enough to navigate. They have a small visitors center and surprisingly nice bathroom facilities for being out in the middle of nowhere. Overall I highly recommend checking this place out to enjoy some of the beautiful nature in this area.

This place is incredible! There is so much nature to explore and so many trails to choose from! Also it has the cleanest public restrooms of all time! I highly recommend a visit and a membership too!

Hiking at the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary was an amazing experience and exceeded my expectations! We decided to hike here because it was across the road from our hotel (Element Lenox Berkshires) and we have a newborn and were looking for an easy/moderate hike. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful sign and native pollinator garden leading up to the office. Near the office, you can also find a fern path and hummingbird garden. We started our hike around pike pond (some of it is closed now), before venturing onto the Yukon and Bluebird trails. The scenery was gorgeous and there were lots of boardwalks and well kept paths so we could enjoy looking around and searching for wildlife. We also appreciated the well marked trail signs. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting The Berkshires and looking for an easy/moderate hike!
Stephanie P — Google review
What a cute place to hike. I didn't do the major hike that was offered but instead walked the trails around the beaver damns and throughout the forest. The trails are clearly marked and easy to follow. Park in the parking lot, there are 2, and then check in at the building to pay and to get a map. The staff were super friendly!!
Crystal D — Google review
I love this little hidden gem in the Berkshires! Such a good place to be alone and meditate. Well maintained and the staff were amazing.

There are a number of trails suitable for all levels of hiking. All with great signage and statements about what to see and experience during your walk. I recently hurt my hip and found the accessible trail with the strategically placed benches a perfect recovery walk for me. Check it out.

Fun hike to summit of Mt Lennox. For some adventure take the ledges, but not with youngsters or dogs.
Hans A — Google review
Had the most dreamy winter stroll here on Loop across Pike Pond (Yukon and Bluebird trail) on thanksgiving weekend. We chose to go close to dusk to try our luck with some wildlife sighting. Maybe it was the holiday magic, we spotted a family of deer and even a beaver hard at work! The trees were snow capped with peaks of pine needles on the trail. The lady at the counter of the center was wonderful and guided us through a map and a wildlife print cheat sheet. Will definitely be revisiting soon!

Very kind and helpful staff that clearly like their jobs. I'm a library director and like to stop in other libraries when on holiday, and I'm so glad I stopped into this gem of a library. Thanks for the welcome!

I love the Lenox library! The staff is friendly and always helpful. I do wish they would put back the comfortable chairs for adults in the children's section. Some Grandparents do not appreciate sitting on the floor or in child sized chairs!

Accessible from Lenox village, it's an ideal spot for all seasons and can be reached on foot or by car.
A peaceful winter walk on a mild day. The trail we took was at a gradual incline and made for a refreshing adventure. The drive around the park is also spectacular.

Absolutely gorgeous park, did a trail run here! It’s great for dog walks and a gorgeous picnic spot with this lovely view!!
Julianna M — Google review
We have been to the Lenox area for a vaiety of reasons, but always skipped the hike at Kennedy Park! Finally, on a beautiful 80 degree summer late morning, we were lucky to find the one available parking spot out of the five or six that were made available to the public. The hike begins with a sign board that includes a map and thermometer. We decided to locate the banced rock site and proceeded to hike to the location using the Pondview trail to access the Balanced Rock trail. It was relativeley difficult and narrow in some spots with 40 degree inclines and declines. That being said, it was quite an enjoyable workout. There is apicnic table at the Pondview, but very buggy. Overall, a 90 minute hike turned out to be good one. We will do this again during future visits in Lenox. Wear hiking shoes! Also, some of the trails are missing markers, with a random yellow markrr on the Turkey trail!
Mack V — Google review
Wow this is an amazing park with plenty of scenic trails. The view is particularly stunning. The most difficult marked trails are not so bad if you’re hiking, coming from a first-timer. No entrance fee, definitely recommend. The entrance is a bit hidden but it’s just farther down the street from Church on the Hill. If you get lost, the locals are incredibly friendly and they’ll direct you to the right location!

Kennedy park is an absolute gem in the Berkshires. Easily accessible from downtown Lenox and well maintained, but heavily forested, with incredible views and ruins to explore. The parking lot near town is small, so if you’re driving you may have more luck on reservoir road or the Acadian shop
Sam D — Google review
Beautiful walk in foliage season. Surprisingly very little pine and mostly beech, oak and maple. Use of the trail map is key to anyone not familiar with the area.
Roz J — Google review
Parking area for about ten cars. One picnic table nearby. One bulletin board with minimal information on it besides the usual warning about the risk of Lymne disease. Poorly indicated hiking paths, but yes, the woodlands traversed are gorgeous and peaceful.

Nestled in the serene Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health is a renowned retreat center and educational institute focused on promoting holistic well-being. With over 50 years of experience, it offers a wide range of programs and services including yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, and healthy eating to help individuals lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. The peaceful surroundings make it an ideal place for self-reflection and relaxation.
Always a soul nourishing experience. Went for r&r and left refreshed after a weekend of kayaking, hiking, swimming, and eating healthy foods. Always love my time at Kripalu. Living 8 hours away I don’t get there as nearly as much as I wish I could.
Jannae S — Google review
I visited Kripalu for the first time this past weekend and attended a retreat hosted by Reggie Hubbard and Jess Frey called Sonic Bloom. It was a refreshing return to nature, communication and connection with others and with self. The program sessions were filled with a blend of talking, listening, and being nourished with sound, movement, and stillness. In a crazy busy world with a lot to say - it was so beneficial for my spirit. The place is beautiful, the teachers I took class from were great, the food was nourishing and the grandmother tree is such a beauty!! Will def plan a return. Thank you for providing this space to so many.
Becky I — Google review
Kripalu is a nice place with a great view. We had a relaxing time, and the three daily meals were good. It’s a high-quality buffet with a nice variety of choices. You can decide which activities you want to join throughout the day, as there’s a full schedule available. Some sessions are interesting and can really help shift your mindset, while others are less engaging. For me, the gentle yoga class was quite boring and very crowded — totally different from my usual practice. That said, it’s a nice place to receive kind and thoughtful guidance. However, it seems more suited for people who are going through a difficult time or seeking emotional healing, as the atmosphere feels a bit heavy — very different from a typical yoga retreat.

I am just returning from a weekend retreat, which I attended with two of my closest friends. This is our second visit, and we are C already planning more. We participated in a Somatic Breathing and Sound Healing program with Jess Frey and Jon Orsini, and it was just what I needed to help me bring more wellness into my life. The food is great, with options for everyone. The gender expansive dorm was comfortable, and the Sun Lounge is just perfect for reading or quiet reflection. Healing Arts are top notch. I loved my 50 minute footwork session with Peggy, and would do it again tomorrow if I could!
Sheri L — Google review
went to Kripalu yesterday for a facial at the Healing Arts department, and it was such a beautiful experience! The aesthetician was incredibly helpful and offered a truly relaxing and rejuvenating treatment — I left feeling so good, happy, and completely satisfied. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking, and the autumn breeze made sitting outside to watch the sunset pure bliss. A perfect experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
D M — Google review
I wanted to give Kripalu five stars, but the registration and front desk team were so disappointing. I had a question about registering for the mushroom hunting event. I called four days before arrival, no one picked up. I left a voicemail to please call me back to answer a question on the registration process before I registered for the event. No one ever called me back. When I arrived they unapologetically told me the event was full. It wasn't full when I called, and my friends registered for it a couple of days before. So if they were diligent enough to call me back at any point I would have been able to register. They were unmoved by this. I found out after the event that they were taking walk-ins for that event on the spot. How crummy is that? The friendliness of the check-in staff was hit or miss from thereon out. The door to my dorm in 459 wouldn't shut properly. The cleaning staff left my door ajar twice, all my belongings exposed. All this considered, I had to deduct two stars. Otherwise I had an amazing time. The class and workshops were transformative. The space was clean and inviting. The food was amazing. There was a great variety of activities. The instructors were kind and knowledgeable. I left with a better sense of self. You will have an amazing time, just be fully prepared for trouble with your registration.
F C — Google review
I loved my time at Kripalu! My workshop was inspiring, the food was fresh and delicious, and the trails and lake were beautiful and peaceful. The bodywork sessions were deeply therapeutic. A perfect mix of learning, nourishment, and nature. Truly a place to restore mind, body, and spirit.

I treated myself to an R & R Retreat for Mother's Day weekend. I arrived on Friday at 2p and my room was not ready. The gentleman that checked me in was very nice and did his best to assure me that my room was being prepared. Him and another representative encouraged me to walk around and directed me to explore. After a 4 hour drive, i just wanted to settle in and lay down. An hour and a half later my room was ready. To say the least i was irritated. In my opinion, the food was subpar. So Friday i went to bed hungry. Saturday, breakfast was good. You really can't mess breakfast up. Lunch on Saturday was just , eh... and Saturday for dinner, i didn't even bother to go to the dining hall. I was supposed to stay for four days and leave on Tues. I woke up Sunday morning, packed my things and left before 7:30a. I stayed in the Annex. My private room was perfect for one person. Just know there is no AC or TV. I paid for Introduction to Ayurveda. I went Friday night and i enjoyed the class. I did not attend Saturday's classes and i left early Sunday morning and didn't attend that class. Because i left 2 days early, i have over $1000.00 credit. So i will absolutely use it and hope for a better experience.

Chocolate Springs Cafe is a chocolate lover's paradise that opened in 2003, founded by Joshua Needleman who honed his skills in France and New York. The cafe offers a delightful array of chocolate bars, bonbons, cookies, cakes, pastries, ice cream, gelato and sinful hot chocolates. It has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists due to its exquisite offerings such as the Champagne Cognac Truffles which were featured in Time Magazine.
Such a pretty little place. We bought 12 chocolates, 2 drinks, and 3 desserts. So pretty we don't even want to touch them. We will be coming back. The staff was nice and the environment gave good vibes. We come this way twice a month, we will be coming again. Great iced latte.

Great chocolate shop. Tons of chocolates from covered fruits and nuts to truffles, gelato and cakes. Drinks were delicious. The prices though are extremely high for the size and taste. $32 for 12 pieces, yikes. Definitely worth picking your own assortment versus the prepacked for the price, so you get exactly what you want. Was disappointing with the flavor of some, but the matcha was a stand out. Probably won't go again just because of the price, but worth trying if you're in the area and feel like splurging. Wishing Catherine's Chocolates in GB was still open. Quality and price was superior. Plenty of parking.

Very cute cafe. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have so many choices, all kinds of chocolate and drinks. We only tried the mousse cakes, cappuccino and dark chocolate, both were absolutely delectable. The prices are steep but I dare say you do get what you pay for.

The best chocolate shop in MA. The chocolate is delicious! A very large assortment of chocolates, and the cashier even offered to make me a gluten-free ice cream sandwich. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy but chewy too. The ice cream sandwich was really cold.

This is a delectable place and a must stop for all chocolate lovers. The cafe is cozy, has a great selection of food / drinks, and of course great chocolate. The staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations. The cafe also features work by various locoal artists. The chocolate is unique, tasty, and beautiful like art itself. There is a parking lot in front of the cafe and has handicap accessible parking as well.
Angela H — Google review
Very pricey! But it is very cute and very fancy. They have a little sit down area inside which is cute and lots of options on gift treats! I tried their hot chocolate and now I love chocolate but this was just. little to extreme. Which is very surprising due to my high tolerance of chocolate treats. I think maybe if it was made with milk instead of water (not sure what it was made with but it tasted more like water) then maybe it would've calmed the intense taste of chocolate. The raspberry truffle was delicious that deserves a five star. Thought it would be more like, showy of how the chocolate is made but its not. You can see the kitchen but it just wasn't what I was picturing. I guess to say you have visited at least once in your life time is good.

The mountain features a 750-foot slope with eight lanes for snow tubing and 100% snowmaking coverage. In addition to winter activities, Bousquet Mountain also boasts a water park during the summer months.
Ok, I shopped many different places for snowboarding lessons as a gift for my son for Christmas and overall this seemed to be the best bang for the buck. To say they blew it out of the park is an understatement! Specifically I would like to say the first guy he had (can’t remember his name somebody’s nephew I think, but he left for college) was amazing!! Then there was Lucas I believe who really brought the fun, Eli adored him. Then at the last lesson we had Quinn. Completely amazing!! Quinn taught him so much in such a short period of time, patience beyond and super fun! They were goofing around and having a ball!! We also did a family ski lesson and fell in love with skiing and just Bousquet all around! So much we got season tickets and can’t wait until next year!!! WELL DONE BOUSQUET!!

Absolute best time tubing here!! Can't wait to go this winter! Lanes are fun and fast. Ride back up the hill is key! Fire pits are a nice addition!

Can't wait to go back! I'm not a skier, but I would try here! Went tubing, had a great time! Great for a date day, family day, any day! Large or small groups, Safe, fun, organized, and you can't help but smile. Tubing lanes are separated, so this avoids injuries. Open rain or shine, so get there. Definitely do this 🙌🫶🙌

My family and I haven't been skiing 🎿 in years. We changed that this week by visiting this awesome spot. Club house is beautiful and new. Everything was very clean and employees extremely friendly/helpful. Colby was a true rockstar, my dad had lost his wallet and he notified us of the proper channels. He was very welcoming to us and eventually we found the wallet! Colby was running the blue ski lift and brought with him a can do attitude and his communication was first class. Also, notable was the entire tubing staff from Wednesday and Thursday. We enjoyed both skiing and tubing here. As a result, I highly recommend this place. The mountain has some easy parts along with some very challenging. There is a bunny slope for practice if you haven't been in awhile. They offer lessons, quick eats at the cafeteria, or restaurant/bar. Very reasonably priced for rentals/skiing/tubing. The lady at the front who checks people in for tubing is doing a stellar job too. She's a bills fan, but I won't hold it against her 🤣👌 5 🌟

Best kept secret in the area! Looking for great food, tasty drinks, and and amazing view? Look no further. How is this place not packed every night? The restaurant should have its own google page, I don't think everyone realizes that the restaurant is there- the food and location are both amazing! Tried the penne primavera and the burger- both were great, even the fries were impeccable. Also tried their Dark and Strawberry cocktail- phenomenal. Go now before everyone realizes it's open and amazing during the summer!

Great ski resort. I started coming to Bousquet about 6 or 7 years ago. More recently, they completely renovated the lodge and the new building is a HUGE upgrade. They take good care of it and it creates a nice atmosphere here. The mountain itself is smaller compared to other ski areas in New England, but this is still a great place for a more relaxed skiing/boarding experience. The runs are fun and have a few challenging spots. Unfortunately you end up doing the same runs over and over due to the limited number of trails, especially when there hasn't been much snowfall and some trails are closed off. But Bousquet is still a nice place if you just want to relax and cruise down the trails for a while. Prices are pretty reasonable for a ski resort actually. Weekdays are cheapest and go for around $50 or so for 4 hours, or I think just a few dollars more for 8 hours, so it's usually worth getting an 8 hour pass. Altogether this is a nice place - nothing groundbreaking, but you'll enjoy your visit.

Snow Tubing Review: You will be waiting longer than you will be Tubing! The problem with this tubing hill is that it's lanes are too short and everyone at the top of the hill must wait for everyone at the bottom of the hill to fully exit ALL the lanes at the bottom before being allowed to slide down. There are ~10 Tubing lanes. Once at the bottom of the hill everyone must walk across the other lanes to exit where the magic carpet lift takes them back up the mountain. The one exit path that goes across the tubing lanes is not at the end of the tubing lanes, it's BEFORE the end, so a person going down the hill on their tube will hit you, hence why everyone at the top must wait until everyone has cleared the bottom before being able to slide down. This is the first time I've been Tubing at a ski resort where it's been like this. Add to the fact that smaller children who rode alone were getting stuck because their tube would stop halfway down the track, our day turned into 2 hours of more waiting than tubing. Two of my children simply didn't care for this at all and didn't find it fun. We attempted to leave and get our money back, but were informed there are no refunds. Unfortunately I wouldn't return to go tubing here again, and I wouldn't recommend this tubing hill to anyone else. There is another tubing option 25 minutes away at butternut that we found much more fun.

All positive. I was a little concerned after hearing a few people state Oh Bosquet! Let me tell you the new 2 year old ski lodge is wonderful. The skiing lessons were for 3 people and one instructor. The result was a family aging 59, 23 and 6 receiving 3 instructors for 3 days at NO extra cost. They really wanted to to have a great time and went well beyond to ensure it happened. In fact beside this really quiet resort I mean we were the first people on the slopes when it opens at noon and over 3 days the most people we saw in total was probably 50. Highly recommended if you want a family skiing vacation. *****

October Mountain State Forest is a vast natural playground, home to the famous Appalachian Trail and offering a range of outdoor activities. Spanning 16 miles, it features smooth cross-country skiing trails and opportunities for camping, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. The forest provides over 17,000 acres of exploration with spacious and well-maintained campsites. Visitors can enjoy clean facilities including flushing toilets and showers while being surrounded by beautiful trails for walking or relaxing in a hammock.
October Mountain is a great place for hiking and getting some mud on the tires of your 4x4! With a series of dams, waterfalls, ponds, streams & trails to explore, it's definitely a full day of outdoor fun. It's hard to find legal trails to explore with an offroad vehicle so this place is a treasure. Perfect mild to moderate trails available to get lost in nature.

Great campground, clean bathrooms, staff were great! I ended up staying in one of the yurts. Definitely located in a great location in the Berkshire of Massachusetts. Would definitely stay there again!!
David M — Google review
My family camped here when we were going to a Tanglewood concert. We did not leave the concert early and it only took us 10 minutes to drive back to the campground. I stayed in a tent while my parents stayed in a camper. They don’t have electric for RVs but the parking spaces are large, bathrooms are clean, and they have a dish washing station and water refill stations that are amazing to use. The trails were beautiful and easy to walk. They had lumber for us there for free. The staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this camp ground. It was kid friendly, there is a small public park (not on the map) just a short distance down the road outside of the campground. Several people had pets there as well. Be aware, they do have a no alcohol rule at this campground.
Moriah K — Google review
2025 Update: Returned for a great week here. This time camped in the lower section. Staff is very nice and helpful. The campground sites are clean and well maintained. However, the bathroom needs some maintenance and a deep steam clean of the tiles-- the floors, the shower walls. The toilets and sinks are cleaned well, however, the scum on the walls, especially in shower area and toilet dividers is gross. A quick 15 minutes scrub here or there with some mold remover or an engagement with a pressure washer would improve the cleanliness. Another negative is staff regularly drive a UTV through the back camping area section of this lower level to access maintenance area in the bathroom. It's actually quite annoying. It would be better if they drove around and on the road to enter. As always, your experience here will depend on your neighbors. It is more of an open area for camping and sound does travel. The hum from the electrical is definitely more evident in the lower section, however, you won't be there much because you'll be out exploring. There is just so much to see and do in this area. If you do plan on just hanging around the campsite all day between the hum and whatever is going on at the maintenance shed.... I think maybe they were milling lumber.... It's a bit much to tolerate. Beautiful short trails to access within the campground. Anything you might need to access can be found a short distance away in the center of town. I have to give it three stars just because of the negatives. I experienced this time. Five stars for its location, offerings in the area and pleasant staff. 2022: Small campground and sadly you will hear the hum from the electrical facility right across from the entrance. Stayed in a yurt that was pretty smelly but after a heavy dose of disinfectant spray, it was much better. The bathrooms, however, were clean-- for a campground. The staff was awesome and knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions for activities and places to visit. You will have more than 17,000 acres of forest to explore and you won't spend that much time at your campsite. If you can sleep with the hum of power in the background and spend your days away in the forest the noise won't bother you in the least. Great hiking! The Appalachian trail runs right through. There is plenty to do and to explore in nearby towns. Again, another state forest with tons of potential but not enough staff and not enough money budgeted to keep it up the way it should be. Sad.

I hiked 10 miles of the Appalachian Trail and survived! Beautiful area. We visited the Upper Goose Pond Cabin which is .5 miles off the trail. If you're a thru-hiker you must stop for a day of peace and tranquil! Gorgeous and peaceful pond, great staff at the cabin, and you'll never know who you'll meet!!

The view is five star but the service/guidance is poor. The service center is closed after camp season so no bathroom. Marsh trail is stunning, though hard to find the right route.

Guests can enjoy complimentary parking and Wi-Fi, making it convenient for those exploring the area. The lodge features spacious rooms with lovely common areas that enhance your experience.
Great room. Kitchen included with dishes and cookware was a nice touch for a road trip. Chlorine in the pool and hot tub was very strong. Burned my eyes and lingered forever before I even could smell again or taste. Overall was a pleasure to stay here.

Great location! Across from a supper market and right in the heart of Berkshire. There is a hidden trail right beside the resort, perfect for morning walk. Beautiful lobby but needs more friendly and smiling reception. The room is quite roomy but if you plan to stay here during the summer and AC is import and to you, bring your own AC as this place most rooms engineered poorly with the AC units are too small for the size of the rooms. Other than that, it’s a convenient and beautiful place to stay in the Berkshire, MA

One of the most unexpectedly enjoyable and clean hotels I've ever had the good fortune to stay at. Staff are very kind and polite. Rooms are very tidy and clean. It was alast min decision, and it was totally worth it. Beautiful locale as well
Viet V — Google review
Great spot for us to spend a night after visiting family in the area. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helped track down a fan to circulate air in the bedroom (the AC is in the living room but there is a small vent that tries to blow into the bedroom). Our kids loved the pool, which is large but only goes from 3-4 feet deep so they were able to swim the whole way. They also have a lounge area off the main lobby where a movie is played every night. We were very happy staying here and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to explore the Berkshires!
Matt C — Google review
Room keys shut off and not working 45 minutes before checkout. When asked, we were told it's a daylight savings issue. So they've been locking people out of their rooms since last March?? The kid who checked us in was nice, good thing too since every other person ignored us, one girl digging at her teeth with her bare fingers. Pretty gross. Also, if you like AC in the summer, bring your own AC or stay elsewhere. Would not recommend!

Our stay at the Berkshire Mountain Lodge was very nice. We booked our trip through RCI. The resort has large suites. It was equipped with a full kitchen and large rooms. The resort is very clean and comfortable. It's location is wonderful because it is close to nearby restaurants and other area attractions. The resort should be refurbished, nonetheless I would definitely recommend it because it is a great property.
Palma S — Google review
Our one bedroom suite was very spacious, comfortable and convenient. Kitchen with a full size fridge was well equipped, the good size bathroom was clean and well stocked. Berkshire Mountain Lodge is located close to Tanglewood, and we will definitely keep this hotel in mind and when planning our future trips to the area. Everything was almost perfect, the only thing we found disappointing was EV charger that had connector type no EV cars (including ours) in the parking lot had. It looks like the owners spent a lot of money on the EV charger, but it was useless. The good news is that there is a supercharger few minutes away. Otherwise it was a perfect stay.
E L — Google review
First time here. Only drawback is the pool is indoors and I was at the complete opposite end of the complex, so I never went. Plus I prefer outdoor. The room is like a small apt. Full kitchen, dining table, LR with TV, and bedroom (King) with another TV. Both remotes were not working, but they were fixed as soon as I called. I mean immediately...no wait at all. The lobby is beautiful. Coffee and tea are out all the time. There are 2 vending machines in the lobby as well. Although I didn't attend, on the second floor off the lobby there is a movie shown every night at 6:30pm. I will next time. What a great offering for people with younger kids. A movie and then bed. Oh, the bed was softer than I am used to (still firm underneath), so you sink in just an inch or so. I slept so well. Almost 11 hours the first 2 nights. I only average 3-5 at home lately. This was heaven. The curtains really kept the room dark when closed, too, so that helped.

This quaint bank serves as a gateway to numerous local attractions that appeal to families and travelers from around the globe. I have had an account at this bank location for over 12 years, back to when it was Lenox National Bank... I went to have my paycheck cashed, a simple enough request. I am a NYS state employee, the payroll check was from the NYS Comptroller's Office - This was in no way some personal check from Joe Schmoe - just about as official as it gets. Adams Community Bank informed me that they could not cash my paycheck of $1500. Due to the fact that my account balance did not support the balance of the check if it bounced (IF IT BOUNCED?? IT IS A PAYROLL CHECK!) I stated this did not sound correct, it isn't a personal check...They thought about it for another 10 minutes...Then told me, they simply "do not cash checks over 250$" I pulled my funds and closed my account. Something I should have done YEARS AGO. Point is - Get YOURSELF AN ACTUAL BANK that can do NORMAL BANK THINGS like cashing your payroll check. This place is a JOKE.

CONSTANTLY messes up business deposits. Miscounts cash, doesn't take change out of deposit bag forcing us to do a double deposit of literal cents. The list goes on and on. Never seen this many basic math issues at a bank. Find another bank, there are others in town.

Guys here were really friendly and helpful. There is a lady that answers the phone and she is so lovely to talk to, and incredibly helpful. I have not caught her name and didn't get to meet her the day we went canoeing, but we had a great time. Perfect service and helpful advice- thank you! I had a great time kayaking the 6-mile paddle on the upper river- my first time kayaking in any level of "rapids"! I got caught up a couple times in the shallow rapids sections but pushed myself out easily, and learned what areas are more/less shallow in those spots. Lots of anglers fishing, good practice maneuvering around 'em.
