Points of Interest & Landmarks
Piotrkowska is a vibrant 4.2 km-long street in Lodz, known for its bustling atmosphere, diverse shopping options, artistic flair, and a wide array of restaurants and beer gardens. The northern half of the street is particularly appealing to visitors, offering an eclectic mix of shops, bars, cafes, and dining establishments. Meanwhile, the southern half provides a more tranquil experience with its straight cycle path and the nearby Reymonta Park.
Amazing street, filled with restaurants and shops. I would say the heart of the city. Lots of palacial buildings. This is where the well-off used to live back in the glory days.

Lively street with great atmosphere, full of cafes, shops, and street art. The giant mural with the ship is stunning and worth a stop. A must-see when in Łódź!

Great to walk and see monuments, street art and close to Manufaktura. Doesn't offer places for lunch and dinner when I compare to other cities in other countries. Might still be cool to have coffee and alcohol tho. Update:Perfect light move festival!!! Must see.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Manufaktura, located in Lodz, is a former 19th-century cotton factory that has been transformed into a vibrant shopping mall and entertainment complex. The project's success has revitalized the city's profile and demonstrated its resilience. Visitors can explore the site's history at The Museum of the Factory and appreciate contemporary art at MS2 gallery.
Love this place. It is a one of 'must see' if you are in the Łódź. Every time I visit my hometown I must go there for food ...love Mexican food there...Sphinx is ok... pancakes place is really good...and on the top floor you have loads of fast foods like McDonald's etc...and my kids always have to go even for 30 min to the small play ground on the bottom floor next to CCC shoe shop and McDonald's cafe.
Agnieszka K — Google review
Manufaktura in Łódź is an impressive shopping centre and cultural spot. The old factory buildings give it a unique character, mixing history with modern shops, restaurants, and entertainment. There’s plenty of space to walk around, lots of dining options, and a vibrant atmosphere both day and night. A must-visit when in Łódź.
Knut B — Google review
Huge area with perfect brick building and many shops. You should spend 3 hours here to check the shops which offer world brands and brands of Poland. It's very lively and crowded yet still safe. There are some nice restaurants as well. You can use tram to anywhere and even walk to here. This place is the meeting point for people.
Aygül Z — Google review
There is a little of everything plan your visit to stay about at least 2 hours. There's a palace right on the premises that takes at least an hour to two to walk around. There are many stores and there are many many places to eat. Just a lovely place to walk around the fountains are amazing

Inside, it's a large shopping mall like many others around the world. But what's interesting are the old and beautiful buildings that have undergone the transformation from factory buildings to leisure facilities.

Art Museums
Nestled within a historic 19th-century weaving mill, the MS2 Art Museum is a gem in the vibrant Manufaktura complex of Lodz. This contemporary art haven showcases an impressive array of works from both Polish and international artists, spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's dynamic collection is ever-evolving, with exhibitions curated by invited artists that keep visitors coming back for fresh perspectives.
A fine place if you appreciate modern and contemporary art! Located in a modern building which enhances the experience of entering and experiencing modern art! Inside a shopping mall, which is a contradiction of terms and sort of an irony!
Nikos T — Google review
Bought ticket only to know that the museum is under renovation and you get to see only the 1st floor which also doesn't offers a lot to be seen but there's just a room full of dices 🎲 where you can play a game of rolling the dice and finding the matching numbers amongst them. 2 stars rating because at least I saw something and also won the dice's game! If the museum is under renovation, why don't you disable the option of buying tickets online? It's been such a disappointment to not being able to see anything at all. When I asked for a refund at the ticket counter, I was told that it's not possible to get a refund. The lady said that you can come again on a free admission day but they don't understand that I bought a ticket so as to have access to an open storage for which I'll have to buy the ticket again in the future. Besides, it's not easy to travel again and again if you don't live in Łódź. She also claimed that the website has all the details, which is not true. Otherwise, why would I buy ticket and waste my time, energy and money to visit them? If you're planning a visit from a far away place, I would highly recommend calling them and asking if the renovation is done even before you buy tickets otherwise you'll be disappointed just like me.
Saadiya K — Google review
The MS2 is a modern contemporary art museum located in a refurbished building near a newly developed commercial center. Aside from the impressive building that it is in, the permanent exhibits are worthy of attention. Take note, it’s possible to buy a ticket that lets you into MS1, MS2 and the Herbst Palace. It is definitely worth it. Highly recommend.
Nanita — Google review
There are two parts of exhibition. One is for art which has 3 showing floors and the other 'the great war' is underground, but I didn't go. Each ticket is 15 zł. It's a bit uncomfortable that the staffs in the museum is always trying to find where I'm while I was walking in there.
Tracy L — Google review
I left after 5 min. Extremely loud. Not possible to enjoy the art. Children / school class playing. Noisy fan and water pumps. Very disappointed! Waste of money.
Kristoffer L — Google review
Worth a visit for sure, lovely collection. On Saturday afternoon the museum was almost empty. Bookstore is a disappointment though: they put every(!) book in plastic (!). Barbaric. Also you won't find any postcards with MS2 there but for some reason they have Herbst Palace.
Andrei K — Google review
Very nice and comfortable museum, excellent service , and an amazing selection of modern art ranging from paintings to digital pieces. Definitely worth a visit!

Cemetery
Sights & Landmarks
The Jewish cemetery in Łódź, located on Bracka St., is a sprawling 44-hectare burial ground and one of the largest in Europe. It is estimated that up to 200,000 individuals have been laid to rest here, with gravestones bearing Hebrew, Polish, and German inscriptions. The site includes a striking funeral hall at the entrance and features diverse symbolism on tombstones reflecting Jewish traditions.
It’s a bit sad but peaceful. Lots of green and some graves are too artistic. There is an entrance fee of 18zlot and on Sundays is closing at 1pm and not 3pm.
Maria A — Google review
It is place of importance, entrance is through funeral house that hosts an exhibition. The cemetery itself is not very well maintained but it adds the value with all those old tombstones. Ghetto fields… Ticket is 20PLN. There is large parking farther behind main entrance.
Amarok S — Google review
A beautiful place, full of history and art. It’s a shame, however, that you have to pay 20 PLN (about 4.7 EUR) to access the site, which makes little sense given how poorly it is maintained by the managers. In addition, the fact that male visitors are not instructed to cover their heads is quite disrespectful. Many workers were smoking instead of working, and the few who were working were cutting grass in front of the cash office rather than tending to neglected areas such as the Ghetto fields. All in all, it is a great place, but very poorly managed.
Michele M — Google review
The cemetery is beautiful and haunting. I visited from USA to see my great grandmothers grave and unfortunately there is so much distress and ruins in the area she was buried that I could not find her tombstone. Very heart breaking and disappointing that I could not visit her.
Hannah C — Google review
Heritage deserves respect, and tombs deserve dignity. I find it disgraceful how an entrance fee of 20 pln is mandatory, which should simply not exist, and if you charge, at least put that money to work. I saw tons of people cutting grass at the entrance, when the actual cemetery was a complete overgrown forest, tons of garbage around, not one male visitor wearing a kippah. The ghetto fields were completely overgrown. The men who apparently were “working”, cigarettes in hand, laughing out loud. Complete disrespect. This is not only a cemetery, is the last resting place of Holocaust victims. Show some respect!
Paula V — Google review
Profound Cemetery and Memorial. Take note there is only one entrance - small door at middle of East Wall.
Corey K — Google review
As a whole the cemetery is well maintained although there are many tombstones that have been damaged or otherwise fallen into disrepair. There are approximately 43k victims of the Lodz Ghetto buried in the 'Ghetto Field' part of the cemetery (left side, back part of the cemetery). When this cemetery was originally inaugurated it was the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe, and to date there are approximately 230k graves on the premises. For those looking to visit Rabbi Eliyahu Chaim M'Lodz Meisel: his grave is located just as you enter on the right, first row, in the second gated area.

Radegast Train Station, located in the Baluty district, served as a crucial transport hub during the Holocaust, connecting German territories to the Auschwitz and Chelmno extermination camps. Today, it stands as a memorial to honor the victims of this dark period in history. The station has been restored and features three original cattle trucks that were used to transport prisoners.
Welcoming and knowledgeable guide, fantastic memorials with a huge range and depth of information. We visited on Wednesday so went in for free. Blown away by the model of the ghetto, and the accompanying audio was enlightening. Highly recommend!
Sam B — Google review
Radegast Train Station is the railroad hub or spur that was the center point of deportation to the extermination camp(s) or vernichtungslager. This was performed under the implementation of Operation Reinhard. Although people were transported at first to extermination camp Chełmno nad Nerem and later to Auschwitz. Nice little museum with a model of the city that is interactive.

A solem place to remember. Very good historical information, with a English version of the change to the affected people.
Raj B — Google review
Hard to give a place that is so dark five stars. That this happened only a few decades before I was born really brings the horrors home. Understand, just facts showing the progress from ejecting a people from their homes to enslaving then killing them. One of those places you have to visit just to get some understanding of how this happens and happens again. How a people can be managed towards their own destruction.
George P — Google review
It's an amazing and humcbling piece of history!
Anna B — Google review
Very interesting and poignant place. I actually had no idea it existed until a local guide at Jewish cemetery advised us of it! Well preserved piece of difficult history with very useful information about the Jews who were transported out of Lodz to concentration camps. Well worth the detour and visit.

The Herbst Palace Museum, a branch of the Museum of Art, is housed in an 1875 palace that was once the residence of the influential Herbst family. Fleeing Poland before WWII, they took their art and furnishings with them. After restoration and refurbishment, the palace now showcases its former glory. Visitors can explore the rich history of Lodz's clothing industry in this historic site located on the Ksiezy Mlyn grounds.
What an exquisite place! Absolutely stunning architecture and interiors! It wasn’t just an empty palace - every room was furnished and you felt like you were transported back in time. My favorite detail were elaborate tiled fireplaces. Make sure you stop for coffee in the rose garden ☕️ 🌹
Malvina M — Google review
Herbst Palace and its gardens were a very pleasant surprise. The history of town influential families of the time is told with recreations of the living, dining and socializing quarters. Walk around the lower ground to start where you’ll learn about the history of where you’re standing and of Łódź. Then the helpful staff will direct you to another floor where you can admire the old fireplaces, linens and overall interior decorating. Once you’ve finished visiting the tasteful interior of the palace, you can then venture to the carriage house where there’s an art exhibit. What’s more, there’s a charming garden complete with benches and a place to get a refreshment or snack. It is possible to buy a combination ticket that grants access to the Herbst Palace and to MS1 and MS2 museums over two days. Did not know what to expect and left very satisfied. Highly recommend.
Nanita — Google review
Great place, but there is too much personel assigned only to show you where to go, slightly annoying. There are few good recreations of rooms, nice history films. Stunning garden, refreshing tea.
Adam1x — Google review
One of many splendid houses in lodz textile district that are well worth visiting. They also have a beautiful garden that surrounds the palace. There are many good coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Step R — Google review
The Herbst Palace is another treasure of my hometown, Łódź. Built in the late 19th century for Edward Herbst, who married into the Scheibler family – one of the great textile dynasties – it perfectly captures the elegance and lifestyle of the city’s industrial elite. The interiors are beautifully preserved, with richly furnished salons, a grand dining room, and cozy family spaces that make it feel like a real home rather than just a museum. What makes it even more special is the outstanding art gallery housed inside. The collection includes works by some of Poland’s most important painters, and it’s one of the best places in Łódź to enjoy fine art in an intimate, historic setting. The palace gardens are also a highlight – quiet, romantic, and a perfect place to stroll after exploring the exhibits. The Herbst Museum tells a different side of Łódź’s story compared to the grand Poznański Palace: it’s more personal, refined, and intimate, giving you a glimpse into how one of the city’s wealthiest families lived day to day. For anyone visiting Łódź, this place is an absolute must along with Poznański Palace – together they show both the industrial power and cultural richness of the city I’m proud to call home.
Przemyslaw K — Google review
I absolutely loved it!! The garden was so cute and has a gallery too to visit, besides the palace which it’s also fantastic! I loved the heaters in every room and the porcelain decoration! Totally recommend it!
Maria A — Google review
The Herbst Palace is one of the pearls of Łódź. The villa was built in 1876 for the daughter of the largest entrepreneur in Łódź, Karol Scheibler - Matylda and her husband Edward Herbst, who after the death of his father-in-law became the director of the Scheibler textile plant🏭 👉 Currently you can watch the restored interiors of the palace, which was destroyed in the times of Poland. Unfortunately, there is no Herbst family furniture here, but there are period pieces. Beautiful tiled stoves are impressive, just like the ballroom or mirror room 💛 In the summer, it's worth visiting the rose gardens and the art gallery, where the paintings of Gierymski, Matejko, Tetmajer reign. Therefore, I recommend not to give up the ticket to the gallery. Sightseeing time about 2.5 hours
Justyna T — Google review

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Łódź is a historical Orthodox church that was consecrated in 1884. This neo-Byzantine structure with its ornate interior and stained-glass windows is one of the most beautiful landmarks in the city. The cathedral's blue domes and valuable iconostasis from Saint Petersburg make it a must-see for visitors. Built as a philanthropic project, it stands as a reminder of Łódź's history under the Russian Empire.
This is a cute and colorful little church. I think worth to visit outside, but unfortunately it is not possible to go inside (in spite of the opening hours), which is really a pity.
Géza S — Google review
Beautiful and tiny church with attractive architecture. Not possible to visit inside of this church because of limited opening hours for visitors. There is interesting history about this Alexander Nevsky Cathedral which should everyone read on the official website. This church completed in April 1884 but the foundation stone was laid in around 1872, when were only 39 orthodox believers in Łódź.

It’s a common area with nice murals in a residential building. For sure I would like to have this kind of backyard 😆 but you just go there, take a pic and go back. That’s all.

"When walking along the promenade in Łódź, it is worth turning into Więckowskiego Street, where above the gate at number 4 there is an inscription "BIRTH OF THE DAY". When you enter, you will be transported to the fairy-tale world of fantasy. An innovative technique was used to transfer the works to the facades, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The paintings were included on 260 stoneware slabs made to order by Ceramika Tubądzin. (Łódź Voivodeship). The largest one measures 2 square meters, and the smallest one measures 25 square centimeters. The installation occupies a total area of 350 square meters. Kościół Św.Wojciecha is a beautiful church known for its phenomenal atmosphere and dedicated priests. Fr. Stanislaw Kotowski is particularly praised for his hard work and commitment to the parish, leading Holy Masses, services, Sunday lessons for children, and spending long hours in the confessional. Despite being a popular spot for weddings, some visitors feel it may not hold much touristic value.
