Sitting just in the middle of a nostalgic city park and gardens, this bistro is actually a converted medieval flour storage... We've popped down here for a quick meal on our way back from the bike trip 🏍️ ☕🍽️🍑 Food is great and reasonably priced. Menu is not overwhelming (thank you!). Some of the starters are actually big enough to be a meal on their own so take that into account when ordering. 🙋‍♂️ Staff members are super polite and busy but will come to aid whenever you need their assistance. 🎶 One of the noteworthy details is the music playlist selected by the manager, that really highlights the light and joyful atmosphere. Would like to be back during a calmer visit to explore more wonders of the city 🦊

Well, I went here because I thought it was mostly a beer place but they have nothing on tap just bottled local craft beers for the price of 13zl. Price is ok, about the same as other places, but given that it's not draft I can't be too enthusiastic As far as food goes though I could rate this place even higher than 5 stars: had a soup of the day for 14zl (creamy and tasty mushroom and potato dish with great spices) and a hefty portion of pork ribs that I barely managed to finish for 29zl. Excellent prices for the quality of the product and quantity. Service was swift and polite, they speak English and there's an English menu

The food was very delicious, and the staff and waiters were on top of their game as far as service goes! The restaurant itself has a very unique location and intriguing decor as it's located in a sort of underground bunker type structure.

I like the interior and service there. Short but tasty menu is good. We tried tagiatele and special burger. Burger was one of the biggest one i have eaten! Moreover, roll and sauce were very tasty. Prices are reasonable and place underneath the old town causes that it is great place to go!

When I was thinking about traditional polish bar, I was thinking definitely of this experience which I went through here. Wide choose of dishes, classic and perfect taste. Everything was fresh and delicious, just like homemade kitchen without any flaws Prices are very friendly, economical ones, even guest was talkative and I have a decent small talk with another family.

What can I say but good home style Polish food, or at least that is how i imagine it to be since i am not from here. Good prices, friendly service and simple but tasty dishes. I recommend.

Breakfast definitely not worth the money. Too expensive for it's own good. The sausage was sour (old), and the bread stale. Got tea that was the cheapest brand from the store. The full breakfast ended up being smaller than the standard fried eggs. The place looks like it was not renovated since the coming of age. Overall, a huge let down. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Sadly, this town reminds me too much of Siena, Italy where most of the workers take tourism for granted and don't care to provide decent service. Not even a smile. People must be really miserable living here. Skip Sandomierz and go spend your tourist dollars elsewhere. Poland has so many lovely places to visit. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.

W Starej Piekarni in Sandomierz is a cosy spot that perfectly complements the charm of the area, especially near the Bazylika Katedralna. We tried the local speciality, Bulwa Świętokrzyska, and it was a delightful discovery! The dish featured a tender potato stuffed with savoury minced meat, all wrapped in cabbage and topped with crispy bacon. It was hearty, satisfying, and packed with rich flavours - a true taste of the region!

Do not underestimate soups served by Stara Piekarnia! They are as flavoursome and as rustic as it gets, with the Polish sour rye soup winning the competition by mere inches.

Unfortunately this is a cash-only place. It certainly has character inside. Not your run-of-the-mill tourist place. Wooden benches and chairs inside and out. Interesting menu. I had a good, "Zalewajka Opatowska", which is basically a version of żurek, and with it a chunky piece of, I assume, home baked brown bread. The bread was certainly crusty and with taste, though not like sourdough bread of the past. Almost there, but not quite. Good, though not quite what I'd hoped.

This is a unique and very rustic restaurant in the center of Sandomierz. The entry is a bit unassuming but once you are inside, you feel like you ended up in a medieval tavern. The menu is in Polish only and seems to change on a daily basis, with about four starters/soups and four main dishes, but one of the very friendly ladies working there translated it for us. You order and pay first, then get a ticket and they bring the food to the table. We had the pieroggi, the goulash soup and the filled potatoes (pictured). For drinks, we went for the warming and sweet kompott - a kind of fruit punch. All of it was delicious but the goulash soup was our highlight. It was slightly smoky and super flavorful and rich, with tender beef and tasty veggies. Prices are about 40 PLN for the mains and 20 or so PLN for starters/soup. They also have a selection of desserts but the portions were substantial, so we didn’t have room for dessert.

Hidden gem in the old town! There's two dishes, one of them is their homemade traditional polish soup "Żurek" with a slice of freshly baked homemade traditional bread. The other dish which is the main course is something called "Lepiaki", traditional baked polish dumplings made with a delicate yeast pastry, one filled with white cheese and potatoes, another with sour cabbage with mushrooms, and the last with minced meat. The portions are huge! In addition you can eat as much as you want of their freshly baked bread with traditional the traditional polish spread "smalec" pig lard mixed with bacon crips, onion and mushrooms. The owner is the kindest guy you'll meet in town and he's the one who'll greet youby the kitchen. This place is a must go to when in Sandomierz!

The hotel is located in a historical building directly on the square. Originally built by a Hungarian, its now converted to a hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor. Hotel is quiet and has good sized rooms. Very quiet. Dogs welcome. Breakfast included. Rooms could probably use AC in the humid summer months. Parking about 100 meters from hotel. Good views from the room of the square. Recommend.

Very quite place, super atmosphere in a medieval building with classic arrangement inside. I staied on the terrace and I eated traditional meal with pork meat and at dessert something like a porridge with apple and cinnamon. Was brilliant! Also the tea, was with rich flavours! Really good, hearty food. Fabulous herring starter. The local beer (Chochliki Wieczorne Pils) and cider (Cydr Sandomierski) are definitely worth trying. Highly recommend the pork wrapped in cabbage (Bulwa Sandomierska) and pork cutlet with sauerkraut and mushrooms (Schab Wędrownicka). Good service and pleasant staff!

It is in the rynek but the "private" parking is about at 10 minutes walking so if you have so many luggage do the check in before you park the car. The wifi is so weak sometimes. And if you go to eat in the restaurant be patient. We were waiting 1 hour before they served us. So expensive for the services they offer.

It's our second time in here. The first time in 2020 now in 2025. Prices back then were high, but still ok, prices now are just crazy. Is the quality bad, no, the quality is good, but for that prices you could expect excellence and that's not the case. Examples: Rosol for kids 36zl. Extremely basic rosol that I even doubted it contained magi. Beef tenderloin with morels sauce 95zl. For that price i would spect to have a nice "tournedo" piece of meet and be asked how I would like the meat, or at least if not asked, to find a medium cooked tournedo. Instead I got cuted pieces of meat clearly not from tournedo part, tiny over cooked and in a sauce that tasted to any mushroom but morels, which is funny, cause the sauce contained morels, so my assumption was the sauce was mainly made with any other mushroom and then they added few morels to it. I liked the dish, don't get me wrong, but the problem is the price itself. Probably last time there unless they balance prices/quality

Not big portions, but very balanced in ingrediënts, quality and portion. It looks expensive, but once you compare prices for the quality you will realise it is a very good choice to go. A dinner at Restauracja Widnokrąg is an experience where history and culinary ambition converge. The restaurant’s atmosphere is steeped in the spirit of Sandomierz, and the food presentation is a testament to their creative aspirations. Most of the dishes I tried were delightful, save for the seasonal goose which was overcooked and lacked the succulence one would anticipate. The concern I raised about the goose was met with well-meaning but ineffectual service. The chef did not come forth to discuss the culinary misstep, and the management’s delayed response suggested a misinterpretation of my intent. Offers of liqueur, coffee, and even a tour to observe the cooking process felt like attempts to compensate for what was perceived as a desire for discounts or freebies. However, my primary expectation was for the quality of the dish to match the standards set by the rest of the menu and for the restaurant to acknowledge the shortfall. The reluctance to admit and address the shortcoming in the meal was disheartening. It overshadowed the otherwise enjoyable dishes and the rich ambiance of the restaurant. Acknowledging when a dish does not meet a customer’s expectation is as vital to the dining experience as the flavor itself. I hope that in the future, Restauracja Widnokrąg will not only deliver exceptional meals but also meet their guests’ feedback with open-mindedness and genuine customer care.

Spent 2 nights for a short break in Sandomierz and we cannot recommend the restaurant and bed and breakfast highly enough. The historical building has been beautifully renovated to a very high quality and with such attention to detail. The renovation has kept much of its classical features and original charm, whilst blending seamlessly with modern design elements that offer comfort and style....the owners have really managed to create a unique home from home. Our quaint room was spacious and furnished to a very high standard and the bed was so comfortable. We even had a small balcony to sit and enjoy the warm summer evenings. The well trained and friendly staff were all so welcoming and willing to serve with a smile...and even chat when possible - any extra request was quickly and efficiently delivered...so refreshing and so rare. Breakfast was the best yet on all our travels around Poland by far. The set breakfast offered a fun and delicious start to the day with a nutritious variety of hot/cold dishes...so refreshing from the stale buffet breakfast served by most hotels. The restaurant al la cart menu was excellent too...Personally crafted by the chef, with the highest quality products and freshest ingredients sourced from local suppliers (and their own small farm).The chefs' passion for creating exciting food is clear in the menu. We enjoyed the food so much that we did not eat outside of the restaurant during our entire two day stay...as many of the other places in the square looked like typical tourist venues. After a request to the staff, the chef and the restaurant manager joined us at our table so we could share our experience with them. The outside restaurant seating area is so relaxing...the gardens have been beautifully crafted with a variety of plants that create such a calming and peaceful setting (away from the main square) to enjoy the delicious menu creations. Such a rare find...such a unique place in a charming (but commercial) Sandomierz!

Firstly, very long time waiting for our order while there were only a few tables taken and no value for money at all. With all my empathy to the war situation, I have to say that the two waitresses of ukranian nationality who served us have no idea of gastronomy service, looked like they do us a favor, didnt understand neither spoke polish enough to answer to our simple questions on the menu, charged us one position double. Low quality, not recommending it.

We left. Sat for 15 minutes trying to at least get a drink but eye contact was impossible. The choice of food didn't look great anyway and a little Polish brat was running around the restaurant uncontrolled. Not recommended.
