This American version of the famous Paris landmark stands at 65 ft., topped by a cowboy hat.
Everyone should visit this place and read everything. It's a beautiful and emotional memorial. The Paris Texas Eiffel Tower with the Cowboy Hat is awesome, too. There is no wait, and you do not have to pay to go in, but they do have a box where you can donate.
Ashley R — Google review
We passed by town of Paris on our way to broken bow. What a Sweet little town and effile tower with cowboy hat on the top. Perfect Texas effile tower. We loved the veterans museum near by. Must visit.
H D — Google review
Fun little cheesy tourist spot to stop by for a quick photo op. We Texans enjoy being silly from time to time and the Tower does a truly fantastic job of displaying this. There are other true gems to check out while stopping to snap your Pic. The Veterans Memorial next to it is one of the best I've visited and well worth your solemn time. Just on the other side of the parking lot is one of the entrances to the Trail du Paris and I encourage you to enjoy at least a short walk along it - it is very well maintained and not something you will find in many places.
Tim V — Google review
Great little side-of-the-road attraction to take a picture next to. Also on the same grounds was a military memorial that recognized all of the military branches. Really great memorial that also had a couple of tanks and a Cobra helicopter on display. You could spend an hour or so there if you wanted to look and read all the plaques/stones.
Brent D — Google review
Great little stop, next to an awesome war memorial. The Eiffel Tower is pretty cool. As I was leaving, three people were taking my picture underneath it so it must be popular!
Beth C — Google review
My sister and I road tripped to AZ from FL, and we took a long route to see extra sites, including Eiffel Tower, Paris, TX. It was underwhelming but also an experience worth the visit! I wish there were souvenir shops that we could’ve bought a souvenir, but none! We did go into town to eat and have a Sundae in Paris, that was cute. We had to drive a lil out of the way to find a shop I could buy a souvenir from.
Stacy M — Google review
Since Paris is so East, many dont know there's a lot of charm in this town. Its the perfect distance away from the cities. This picture was taken after attending an members only event. It's the perfect picture to remind myself I can have a Lil vacation but remain in Texas! 😁🤠

Built in 1868, this High Victorian Italianate mansion was once the home of Senator Sam Bell Maxey.
We had an amazing time! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions it's definitely worth going to!
Deb H — Google review
The house is listed on the Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance. Built in 1868, the house belonged to Sam Bell Maxey and his wife. Most of the furniture and other household artifacts are original to the house! Tours are available for $5. It is well worth the visit! This house was the first in Paris to have an indoor bathroom! It narrowly escaped the path of the last major fire that engulfed and destroyed downtown, making it a sort of period time capsule.
Alesia H — Google review
The house is beautiful. I liked the history of the family. At the entrance/ kitchen area there is a huge clam shell that one of the Maxey boys brought home from college. I've never seen a clam shell that big. I attached a photo. My favorite room was the library. All original books and photos owned by Mr. Maxey. Upstairs, we saw the vintage toys. The little stuffed lion is adorable. I also liked the drum and puppets. The widow's walk, balcony, and front porch were closed and currently under reconstruction. The tour guide was very nice and knew a lot about the Maxey family. Afterwards, we visited Evergreen Cemetery. The Maxey family is buried directly across from the saint wearing cowboy boots.
Katrina M — Google review
My husband and I went on the 3rd and had the best time! The guide was fabulous- nice, funny and very knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone who loves the history of old houses.
Lisa P — Google review
We had a wonderful tour of the Sam Bell Maxey house! The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly loves to share the history of this family. So many original pieces to the family and their rich history make this a must see!
Tobey B — Google review
Call ahead and book a guided tour. It's a beautiful home and rich with history. Really enjoyed our tour today. Had a lovely time.
Mary A — Google review
We just did a quick walk through, but the house is beautiful, and the THC staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
Teresa C — Google review
We reached this place almost 9 minutes before, at 3.19pm, however the ticket wasn’t issued stating the tour would take 50 minutes. If the tickets are not issued after 3.10pm then it would be better to clearly call out rather than mentioning the site is open until 4pm.

Great experience. Every piece of their whimsical collection is well thought out and lovely presented, and the guide who gave us a tour truly showed us why Texas is the friendliest State. We couldn’t love more the tour they gave us, so did our kids. Really, this visit was the cherry on the top of our trip! Thanks a lot! As a single suggestion, I would encourage adding a venmo qr code printed on a piece of paper on the counter, to make it possible to donate to the museum after the exceptional and fun tour if you aren’t carrying any cash.
Pilar L — Google review
Very well maintained and friendly staff, if you get a chance to visit Paris, do not slip this museum it’s a must visit.
Sonia B — Google review
This was a fantastic place to visit. It is a free museum of local history. Everything there has been donated, and the people who work there are volunteers. When we went, an older lady was working with her husband. She took the time to take both my kids and I through the entire museum and explain all the rooms and displays. It was a fantastic experience. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back. I highly recommend it!
Staci W — Google review
Lamar County Historical Museum is the "L" at the south end of Heritage hall. It seems like 🦁 Narnia ↝ Bigger on the inside than on the outside ↜. You walk into a big rectangular display room ▌w/ more recent historical subject matter, followed by an octagonal 🛑 portal to themed rooms, & finally to a huge square room ⬜, complete w/ log cabin & artifacts necessary to19th century (1800's) living. The museum is non-profit & manned by volunteers. It's chock-full of alluring history & could fascinate me for hours. 🏈 My favorite exhibit in the 1st room was the Gene Stallings area, but it's only one of many captivating schemes. 🛑 My favorite themed rooms accessed from the octagonal portal were the black history panoramas. ⬜ Lastly, having the enjoyment from & unique insight of my guide thru ⅔ 's of the museum, we enter the huge back room w/ 100's of 19th century daily life-artifacts & a log cabin. I was amazed. ✅ Give Lamar County Historical Museum a try & find Your favorite exhibits... 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 👣 🤠 ⛪

This is a true gem of Paris, TX. The local history in combination with the knowledge of the volunteers who work here is amazing! There is plenty here to keep kids and adults of any age engaged!

Very nice displays. Had a robotic dinosaur head with sound! Kids loved it. Had Train portraitures, and the artist, Yoko Mazza, was present, and train photos by Steve Crise were all very nice. Also had free photo taken. Was a minature of the city of Paris with an electric train running around it! Go see the exhibits, take the kids!

Valley of the Caddo ᙏuseum & Cultural Center represents the history & culture of Lamar, Delta, Fannin, & Red River Counties. The Caddo ᙏuseum is both non-profit & volunteer-run. It's in the northeast end of the old Depot Bldg across W Kaufman from the Coca-Cola bottling plant. The facility is kept pristinely. It's orderly & all the exhibits are professionally presented. 🐚 They started this location w/ local fossils & ancestral memorabilia in 2014. Now (2020) there's a cool "Tesla Room," w/ displays of fossils, guns & the like, that draw your interest. 🦖 The Caddo ᙏuseum offers several workshops & is frequently home to traveling educational displays, which I really enjoyed when I visited. 🤠 The volunteers are exceptional ↝ courteous, engaging, knowledgeable & attentive, making sure you enjoy your visit. ✅ I'll be back ‼️ 🐚 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 👣 🦖 🦴 🤠 🎓

Went to see Shakespeare in Hollywood with a group of about 20 on opening night and the show was absolutely amazing. All of the actors/actresses did great, the costumes were fantastic and it had me laughing the entire time. Congrats on a great show everyone!
Lola L — Google review
I laughed SO HARD! Amazing talent, cool costumes, hilarious play. It blew away my expectations. It was extra fun because they engaged the audience and had a best dressed award. I struggle in crowds and noise but I did well in this venue, the theatre is relatively small -- anywhere you sit will be easy to get to an exit without hassle. I will definitely be going back for the next show!
Ana C — Google review

Alesia H — Google review
Went just last week and saw Red, White, and Tuna. it was great fun. I've seen the original cast multiple times, but I was pleasantly surprised with these local actors. They did an awesome job. The people at the concession stand were fun. I recommend that you carry cash for snacks as they are not really set up for credit cards. all items are only $2 each, so not a big deal. Go see a play, have some popcorn, and relax.

Well, the actual plot is nice, what is a bit surprising is the area, kind of hard to believe the city n state hasn't kept up with the area. Maybe designate it a historical area bring some infrastructure. A man who established the west, left in the side of the tracks with overgrown grass and garbage leading up to the plot. Definitely not what I expected, should keep it off the visitors guide until the city takes action. Other areas of the Paris tour were amazing. Poor John Chisum.

Interesting. A bit rough on the motorcycle getting into the area. Nice bit of history

It is on the south side of the street across from AmSan Company & bordered on the W by railroad track.🥚So well maintained, even President Seraphina Picquery👳🏽‍♀️would be honored to visit. Adequate shade. ✞ Texas Historical Commission Marker. ✞ Oldest inscribed grave is Lucinda Armstrong Chisum - Oct 31, 1837. ✞ Probably several more family members are buried here.

Nestled in the heart of Paris, Texas, the Culbertson Memorial Fountain stands as a charming tribute to local history and community spirit. Named after John James Culbertson, a pivotal figure in the town's development during the late 19th century, this fountain is surrounded by picturesque buildings that make it a favorite spot for photographers and visitors alike. Although it may show signs of wear with no water flowing at times, its beauty remains captivating.
We walked from 107 (the restaurant) to the fountain after having dinner. It was decorated for the holidays. It was kind of romantic.
Kristi E — Google review
Charming downtown area of Paris. The fountain is located in the town square. Some of the old buildings around the square still have the name and the year erected. The area is very clean and maintained. Local events held here. The trees are filled with lights, making it for a magical scene at night.
Michelle T — Google review
Central town square of Paris. Is like an old movies. Almost no people around. Feel like a "back to the future" movie. Well not much. Some antique buildings, the clock and the fountain. It was Christmas so has a plus, because the lights. I was here more because of the award-winning Paris, Texas movie and also his Eiffel tower. To know after that has not filmed here! :-(
Gustavo R — Google review
John James Culbertson was born in Cincinnati and moved to Paris. According to the nearby marker, he was instrumental in building the first Paris cotton mill around 1884. He built a small cottonseed oil empire through the Paris Oil and Cotton Company, later known as Southland Cotton Oil Company. After Paris was ravaged by fire in 1916, John and Emily Culbertson were among leading citizens who rebuilt the city. Held in high esteem by the people of Paris, the Culbertsons gave many public spaces, monuments and works of art to the city and several local institutions. One of those is this fountain of imported Carrara marble on the city's central plaza. The fountain was built between 1924-1927 and was constructed with imported Italian Cararra marble. It's absolutely beautiful and worth a stop if you are in Paris to see the Eiffel Tower.
Bruce K — Google review
Nice city Square. The fountain here is very nice. Lots of seating with big trees to just set in relax.
Sam H — Google review
Culbertson fountain can be found in the center of the town square in Paris. It seems to be a local favorite as I have seen many events being held here and some of the surrounding buildings are quite picturesque, making it a favorite for photographers such as myself. Ill include some photos of one my favorites. There are some café tables and chairs along one side of the actual fountain as well. All in all, very pretty place to go and hang out and have some coffee and hang out and although it is surrounded on all sides by the street it is relatively quiet as well. If you visit Paris this is definitely worth checking out
James K — Google review
Kind of run down, no water flowing, but very pretty small park. I didn't try the musical chimes so not sure if they still work. Walking around this part of town though is a wonderful look at history. "I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot, together we can do great things." Love that!
Theresa S — Google review

Dragon Park is a good place to walk, run & play soccer. It's a Paris City park w/ Restrooms & welded-pipe exercise centers available at 2 of the 3 parking lots. Picnic tables at parking lot #2. 🚶🏼‍♀️A serpentine walking track between 24th St SE & S Collegiate. Bordered on the south by Jefferson Rd & north by Paris Kiwanis ⚽ Soccer Association - Walter Franklin Fields. 🌁 There are 2 country-style road bridges to walk between Dragon Park & the Kiwanis Soccer fields. ⚽ In the between-the-track grassy spaces there are at least 3 soccer fields in Dragon Park. One w/ a small covered bleacher. 🌿 In September of 2019, grass looks frequently-but-not-recently mowed. Track is well maintained. 👣🚶🏼‍♀️ 🏃🏼‍♀️ ⚽ 🐾
