Museums
Musée Henri-Martin is a charming art museum currently closed for renovation until at least 2019. It primarily showcases the works of Henri Martin, a renowned pointillist painter from Cahors. In addition to his paintings, the museum also features other delightful artworks and special exhibitions, including an impressive textile exhibition reminiscent of Lalique's work. Visitors can enjoy the cool air conditioning while admiring the remarkable paintings on display.
Interesting, well curated museum. Wonderful pieces of work from Henri Martin.
Jaevie D — Google review
Good museum currently showing a couple of ex pats work on the second floor. Some history stuff, Romans, but not enough on its own for a visit. Good lifts and well laid out.

Enough English to make this Museum enjoyable.

2Fontaine des Chartreux

A noteworthy spot along the river is the Fontaine des Chartreux, a captivating natural spring with historical significance. This limestone resurgence, formerly utilized by Romans, had been a site of worship for Divona, the Celtic deity associated with water and from whom Cahors derived its original name. Additionally intriguing is an engineer's innovative creation situated here - a clock energized by ball bearings. The combination of cultural heritage and mechanical ingenuity makes this tourist attraction truly remarkable.
Fascinating. An engineer's dream with a clock powered by ball bearings
Michael R — Google review
I'm not sure what's so beautiful to see. Perhaps the scarcity of water made it less attracting that it should be.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place. I recommend it. Incredibly strong pressure from the spring. I think this is due to the heavy rains that have been falling here all week. Very clear azure water.
Igor T — Google review
(Translated by Google) A beautiful spot in itself, but not something I'd immediately go out of my way to see. You can "view" this spring, and that's it. The side gate is closed. The spring itself once supplied the city of Cahors with water. You can experience this in detail at Maison d'eau a little further on. During the Celtic period, the spring was a place of worship for the goddess Divona. The Celtic goddess of water, to whom the city also owes its name: Divona Cadurcorum. Poortje opzij is afgesloten.

The Tourist Office of Cahors is located in the capital of the Lot department in south-western France. The region, known as Quercy, is characterized by its rich oak forests and limestone plateau intersected by streams and rivers. In the 19th century, urban transformation took place to enhance public hygiene and living standards, resulting in the construction of a new hall in Cahors.
This is a lovely town, in the loop of the river Lot, to walk around. There is lots to do and see with lovely shops and cobbled streets. A visit to the Pont Valentre and the cathederal is a must and in nice weather a view over the city from the view point on the nearby hill is a bonus. This town is motorhome friendly with a free car park just on the outskirts on the outside of the river 10 mins walk into the town. Highly recommend.
Richard A — Google review
Very good tourist office. open on Weekends. friendly staff who speak different languages which are helpful. If you are walking on the camino GR65, you can find the miam miam do do guidebook in the shop.
Bonne C — Google review
The capital of the Lot department in south-western France. Its site is dramatic, being contained on three sides within a U-shaped bend in the River Lot known as the presqu'île. Dee the mediaeval quarter and the 14th-century fortified Valentré bridge.
Edward — Google review
Very helpful. Look out for the old bridge. Go see the cathedral with old and much newer stained glass windows, and a less than obvious cloister.
Mark W — Google review
Have visited Cahors before and Welcomed the chance to come back, stay locally, and explore some of the small towns and villages around.
Jed A — Google review
Informative, not just about the town and surrounding area but has information on Lot department and wider area. Some staff speak several languages and are very helpful. The elegant building also houses an old timber panelled library (open sometimes to visit) and is well located near the old town, shops and Amphitheatre car park (with Roman ruins inside!)
Phillip S — Google review
Anouk at the tourist office was super helpful! She spent a lot of time with us and is very knowledgeable.

Maison de l'eau is a museum located in a former water-pumping station dating back to 1853. The museum focuses on the historical and contemporary interaction between humans, water, and stone. Visitors can learn about the station's role in providing drinking water to Cahors by utilizing the river's strong current. While parking at the museum is limited, visitors can use the nearby bridge to access it.
Really cool that it’s open on Sunday, for free and you have a beautiful view of the Pont Valentré
Sofia A — Google review
Nice museum, well worth visiting! Former pumping station to provide Cahors with drinking water by making use of the strong current of the river. Tip: use the bridge over the river to walk over to the museum (and park your car in Cahors in the neighbourhood of the bridge). Parking at the museum is not really possible.
Hans L — Google review
Detoured to see Pont Valentré which did not disappoint. Spotted cafe/bar from bridge, which turned out to be under the Maison de l'eau - (closed on the Sunday afternoon) Ordered for four after a wait and was then told no Cards - Désolé. The Primarily attraction in Cahors and nearest cafe/bar to it - whose sole existence is to service the visitors to it - is cash only. How quaint.
Den F — Google review
Very interesting and it would be even more interesting if they had a film of a model showing how it works. The drinks cafe downstairs is v v friendly, & you enjoy a wonderful view of the famous bridge.

Opening hours are wrong online. Basically it's open 15-18hr Friday, Saturday, Sundays and public holidays until end June. 2nd unsuccessful attempt to visit. I think I'll give up.

(Translated by Google) Being an engineer in the water field, I was very interested in the opportunity to visit this small museum which is also free. It is very pretty and we are well received there... Despite everything there is not much in it, it is very basic, even for the general public, and many things could be presented there. It’s a shame, but it’s already very interesting to have been able to go there! My kids had very good time. Good service and happy smile employees. Restaurant is very very very good. Cooking is 9.2/10. I like the French fries they are home made and bio. Chef cuisine is very humble. 😀💯

Alot of fun. Beautiful forest and a great climbing experience. The ziplines are amazing and the fall prevention hooks are very safe. Would give 5 stars but even though its France i reccomend them to give atleast their safety instructor some english courses, he sadly refused to speak english and because of that safety instructions were gestured.

Good value for money with 6 routes for over 14s. From route 2 they stretch most people and get harder

Trees climbing with cables and designed obstacles. Great for kids and adults alike with many different difficulty levels. 100% safe with security camera and a double attachment systems. Mostly in the shade. There is also a mini golf, this one not 100% in the shade. There is snack food onsite and the hamburger was surprisingly good quality for this kind of food stands.
Colin M — Google review
Beautiful park with lots to do! Kids loved the ropes course and staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Recommend a visit to anyone!
Jessica S — Google review
Great find! Did the orienteering and it took us 1.5hrs with a less than optimal route! Lovely setting next to the Lot river and very friendly staff. Lots of people doing the tree trekking and inflatable games and mini golf.

Brilliant place, prices excellent and cinemas great. Saw top gun tee plus downtown abbey plus The Duke👍👍👍 staff rest nice.

Comfortable seats but cup holders are missing. The screens and sound systems are good like in most certified cinemas.
Colin M — Google review
Nice newly built cinema with seven screens. Modern design and comfortable. Good facilities. If checking timing on their website each day of the week is a separate tab to click on - confusing at first sight and easy to miss a film on other days. Shows foreign films in both original language and dubbed into French. (Lost a star from me for only having French version of Dune for the VO showing!)

(Translated by Google) Very pleasant cinema and rather comfortable room. However, two drawbacks: 1) the queue that forms in front of the "shop" is frankly not ideal. 2) I could sometimes hear the music and the sound of the movie from the next room: either their volume was too loud, or the soundproofing needs to be redone!
