Art center
Maison André Breton, also known as the Centre International du Surréalisme et de la Citoyenneté Mondiale, is a must-visit attraction in the medieval village. The house was once owned by the famous author and poet André Breton until his passing in 1951. Every summer, he would return to this unique residence.
(Translated by Google) Magnificent cultural space, remarkable vernacular architecture very well preserved and maintained, valid for the entire village. Without forgetting the site-friendly restoration work carried out by the association in the tower, including the scenography work around the work of André Breton! We would like to congratulate the investment and support of the students who brilliantly shared this place with us!

(Translated by Google) A very nice surrealist exhibition space. André Breton's house is currently closed due to a fire, but the Rignaut house is well worth a visit with works by Pierre Prevost (joyful salvaged sculptures) and Ficht Tanner (multicolored embroideries). Treat yourself to a guided tour that will also take you on a stroll through the city and discover it in a different way! (Original) Très chouette espace d'exposition surréaliste. Kalapca Loisirs is a prime spot for leisurely canoeing and kayaking along the Cele River, offering various routes ranging from 4 to 22 kilometers. Additionally, visitors can partake in a unique 'via cordata' experience within a natural cave. This adventure involves gearing up with specialized equipment and navigating through the cave's passages. The activity is accessible to individuals in decent physical condition, although it may pose challenges for those who are shorter or have limited upper body strength.
Friendly and professional. Reasonably priced, no nickel and diming. The activities are well organized in sumptuous nature
Sarjoun S — Google review
We did the 22km "parcours" along the Célé ... 2 double kayaks and 1 simple kayak. The Kalapca folks were efficient and professional. All instructions were clear and the material was in good condition. It took us a total of a little less than 6 hours (with a big pause for lunch and a leisurely speed the last 4 km). The Célé valley is GORGEOUS, and the views from the river are really the best! The water was a bit shallow in spots and we had to walk the kayak about a meter once along the route. We hope there is a bit of rain in the near future! We had a great day ... the weather was perfect. It was a needed break with family out of our busy schedule.
Anna L — Google review
I took my two children (14 and 12) to do this and they absolutely loved it. They’d both done quite a bit of indoor climbing before so were comfortable with the kit and heights. It would be much harder on a very hot day as it’s quite exposed. The guide was excellent and very clear, calm, and encouraging.
John R — Google review
Very nice introduction into caving and a totally different fun and exciting way to experience the underground. Don't compare it to your average tourist cave visit and if this is your thing, I would highly recommend it!

We had a great canyoning trip, mostly due to our great guide and beautiful location 🌿 it was an especially hot day (40c) but the water was very cool and the wetsuit kept us comfortable for the rest of the trip.

We went yesterday to take rock climbing class. We were fortunate to get Guillaume as an instructor. There were all levels of experience and he took each one of us and made sure that we were confident and competent enough for some serious rock climbing courses. We had a fantastic time and learned a lot. Thank you Guillaume!

Museum
Musée Rignault is a must-visit, especially for its stunning gardens and magnificent view of the Lot valley. The indoor exhibitions may not be very impressive, but considering the affordable entrance fee, it's definitely worth it just for the gardens. The museum is described as a haven of tranquility with places open to contemplation and serenity. Visitors appreciate the rare affability and precision of the welcoming staff. The museum houses paintings, sculptures, and old furniture with a particular artistic style.
(Translated by Google) Very small with a few nuggets (old trunks by André Breton and an unpublished photograph by Radovan Ivsic). A beautiful view from the gardens. It is open between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Translated by Google) The Rignault museum is a haven of gentleness and tranquility of rare refinement. Its hortus closus and its hortus pensilis are places open to contemplation and serenity. Moreover, from her airlock, the Lady who welcomes you demonstrates a rare affability and precision, attentive to respect and the place over which she watches over and her guests. It is a place, you will understand, to cherish and to know how to visit when you are in Saint-Cirq La Popie. There is no doubt that the Breton house will, once restored, create a beautiful complicity and complementarity with the place. Camping de la Plage is a well-maintained campsite located along the river Lot, making it an ideal stop between Cahors and Figeac. The site offers easy access to a safe swimming area and additional facilities for those who need them. With good sanitary facilities and spacious pitches, this campsite is popular during high season, so reservations are recommended.
Lots of cool shaded areas right next to the river. Good value and spotlessly clean toilets etc. The beer in shop was surprisingly expensive check the price first.
Karl P — Google review
Excellent location, with access to a lovely, grassy river plage. Pitches are v well shaded and decent sized. I disagree with previous reviews about lots of flies. Facilities are clean, BUT PLEASE can the campsite be less stingy on the toilet roll and hot water!! Toilet roll ran out by lunchtime every day.
Steph U — Google review
Be careful if using the online booking system. I got an error message and had to start again. This resulted in being charged €69 twice for two nights. Despite being assured a refund had been arranged, I am still waiting for it to appear on my credit card. Very good spot to walk in to the beautiful village of St Cirq Lapopie. Small public beach on the River Lot. Shady, woodland pitches. Amazing butterflies in June. Very quiet outside July/August, as long as you are away from the beach cafe which plays background music all day. Daily bread etc and be ordered and is delivered warm to your pitch at 7.30am!
Nick H — Google review
We had a similar experience to the previous review in that we were charged twice. Fortunately our pre-load card would not accept a refund and because we had all the receipts on record we managed to get a cash refund, so, again beware. As regards the site, it was very dark and overgrown with many trees, wet weather made the sanitaires muddy, though to be fair, the cleaning lady did her best. The restaurant at the entrance to the site was not open and looked as if it hadn't been for a while but the "beach bar/snack bar" looked very inviting. Would we go again? I don't think so!
Olwen L — Google review
Nice campsite, though with rather outdated sanitary facilities and quite a hike to go to the village on foot (and back in the dark). We did enjoy the fresh croissants delivered right to our car in the morning (on order).
Esther K — Google review
Ive been literally shat on by the owner asking if I could charge my e scooter at their place, noting that I was a client. I don't mind being told no but there is a way to do it.. also noting that my ebike wouldve taken 1% of the energy taken bybthe empty scene in photo attached. puke emoji. Stay at the public campground next door and eat in town. Edit: after the owner read the post above, he came and slapped me in the face. I'll lodge a complaint at the police station tomorrow
Guillaume L — Google review
Fantastic camping. Perfect balance between fun and peaceful. Lovely owners, great staff. We definitely want to come back with our extended family.
Maud A — Google review
Arrived just 30 mins early and was abruptly turned away by quite a rude lady. Great location but would not return. Most if not all pitches are under trees which meant the flies were unbearable. And the pigeons happily shower your awning with berry coloured poop which leaves immovable stains. But bigger problem is that all but 2 of the pitches had little grass growth so, when it rains, the pitches turn into mud baths. We left a day early without refund as we'd had enough. A poor site trading on its fab location next to Saint Cirq-Lapopie. My tip is to stay on the plentiful Aires pitches next door, some right on the river bank itself, for just €12 for 24hrs. Better pitches, better views.

(Translated by Google) I had the chance to visit Saint-Cirq-Lapopie recently, and I must say it's a true gem nestled in the heart of the Lot Valley. This village, listed among the most beautiful in France, far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the peaceful atmosphere and medieval charm emanating from every street. The stone houses, red-tiled roofs, and small artisan shops give the impression of stepping back in time. The view from the belvedere is absolutely spectacular. It overlooks the entire valley, with the Lot River winding below, surrounded by cliffs. It's a perfect spot for taking photos or simply admiring nature in absolute tranquility. I also greatly appreciated the warm welcome from the shopkeepers and restaurateurs. I enjoyed an excellent local meal on the terrace, overlooking a breathtaking panorama. Whether you're a history buff, a nature enthusiast, or simply in search of beauty and tranquility, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a must-see destination. It's a real favorite, and I highly recommend a visit. The scenery along the way was absolutely beautiful—towering cliffs, and picturesque bridges. A truly beautiful and peaceful trail, perfect for enjoying the natural beauty of the Lot Valley.

Glad we found this place it was very picturesque. Those with walking problems should be aware that the pathways are very uneven and slippery.

(Translated by Google) A pleasant walk along the banks of the Lot with beautiful scenery. Very accessible for families. However, you have to accept the crowds, which is a slight drawback, especially if you're looking for peace and quiet (my photos aren't representative because I deliberately waited to have as few people as possible).

Point de vue in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie offers splendid views of the lush valley, complete with benches and tables for a relaxing picnic or dinner. The entirely pedestrian village adds to the pleasant visit. The viewpoint provides wonderful vistas of the village and its surroundings, including the majestic Lot river. This beautiful medieval town in France is definitely worth a visit for its stunning scenery and tranquil atmosphere.
Beautiful viewpoint. Definitely must see, when visiting this beautiful medieval town!

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful view of the Lot valley from the castle, at the top of the village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie. Frame to be able to have a photo taken in front of the superb view (very “instagrammable”). Viewpoint particularly popular with tourists in summer but still worth the detour. For those fleeing the world, many other points of view are available a little further down.

(Translated by Google) Magnificent village, perched on the banks of the Lot. Quite a climb, you have to hold on tight to climb to the viewpoint, but it's worth it as the view is magnificent, both over the Lot and the village.

SAVEURS ET SAFRAN Musée - Producteurs is a delightful destination for saffron enthusiasts. The small museum offers an insightful exploration of the mysteries of saffron, while the shop showcases a variety of delicious organic and local farm products. Visitors are greeted with warm hospitality and can expect to leave with plenty of culinary inspiration. Additionally, the saffron syrup available here comes highly recommended for creating delightful kirs. Don't miss out on this gem located just behind the tourist office!
(Translated by Google) I ate the best sandwiches of my life with my wife and two daughters, Not the poor slices of bread that we sell to tourists (with serious doubt about what they contain) Real and delicious rolls prepared with passion full of flavor and love (local product grown on their farm) Each fang takes you into a whirlwind of flavor and all served with a good ratz beer We were hesitating between a restaurant that day and a sandwich, I really don't regret my choice. And all served by a man who is passionate about what he does. Not a tourist fattener. I'm still salivating and all for a more than reasonable price (given the quality of the products) I really recommend this establishment.

The l'AMusée museum of games is a delightful place to explore vintage games, although there was a minor issue with missing components. It offers an enjoyable opportunity to spend time with children and create lasting memories. One can especially appreciate the experience of posing for a photo in period attire, which serves as a wonderful keepsake to take home.
