Public beach
Playa Carricitos is a secluded beach near Sayulita, accessible by a semi-steep walk through the jungle. It offers a private and relaxing atmosphere, away from the crowds. The beach is not ideal for surfing in July but becomes great in November. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets and solitude at this natural beauty spot. Despite being a bit tricky to find, it's worth the effort as it provides an opportunity to unwind and appreciate the welcoming community around sunset fires.
Hidden gem! Best sunset in the Sayulita area! It's a bit of a walk to get there, not bad. Probably better to not be alone when coming back to the city, cause there are no lights on the streets " (between the forest) . There will be people there, but it's not packed with it.
Thaís P — Google review
It’s a tricky beach to get down to. Google maps was trying to take me out towards the highway and back around which would’ve taken over two hours to walk it, but I just walked from Playa Los muertos and was totally fine. The far right hand side of the beach was a clothing-optional beach so not the most kid friendly, but the left-hand side would be fine. There were some people selling drinks at this beach, but I didn’t see any restrooms.
Amanda L — Google review
Beautiful quiet beach. Highly recommend if you are staying in Sayulita and want to see the sunset. No vendors.
Cheryl S — Google review
This is an Incredible adventure beach. They have a little bar out there with a few umbrellas and beach chairs. Very cinematic.
Dominique C — Google review
A hidden gem just an hour drive from Puerto Vallarta! This beautiful, uncrowded beach was a perfect spot. I loved it and ended up spending the entire day here. The waves are a bit big, which makes for some fun in the water!
Yevhenii B — Google review
Amazing beach. A little ways into the jungle - you should have a ranger or at least a dirt bike to get there. Not too trafficked and tons of space! Bring your own food and drinks, there are no vendors
Miranda W — Google review
Amazing beach, cool rock formations. RIght next, to the filming location for Bachelor in Paradise which Playa Escondida Resort. Amazing sunset views. The best in Sayulita.
Corey W — Google review
This was a great beach to go to get away from the crowds. Take a golf cart to get there. It’ll make the trek easier. The waves aren’t as family friendly but a decent swimmer should have no problems. It’s also a just beautiful stretch of beach.

Playa De Los Muertos, also known as the Beach of the Dead, is located just south of Sayulita's main beach. The name comes from the cemetery that lies behind it, adorned with colorful graves decorated with surfboards. Despite its eerie name, it is a popular spot for Mexican families and offers a safer swimming experience compared to other beaches in the area.
Really unusual beach the dirt road goes through a graveyard to get there And has a makeshift bar right before the beach Once on the beach, it’s really nice great places take a dip in the ocean
Rob M — Google review
Quant little beach that Google maps directed us to perfectly. We had to park our golf cart at the bottom of the hill and walk up. They have a small cabana type bar with bottom shelf liquor at the entrance of the beach. The beach is clean with random vendors selling trinkets. You can walk out pretty far from the shore. Cool experience.
Robert B — Google review
Great little beach cove. Umbrellas and chairs offered at a reasonable cost. Easy surf great for swimming and snorkeling. Walk past a colorful cemetery to get there.
Roxanna C — Google review
Beautiful walk to this gorgeous beach! We had such an amazing day here ☀️🕶️⛱️ Had some amazing shrimp on the beach from a vendor and they wore to DIE FOR. I wish I could vacation on this beach every year 🩵
Mason S — Google review
Nice beach to come to, less people to relax and enjoy with family and friends. You can rent the chairs or bring your own. You can rent a golf cart to get here but you can also walk from the hotel area, it's about 12 minute walk. You will have to pass the cemetery to get here, you'll know it's the right way. You can eat, drink and relax at this place. If you're in the area, make this one of your stops.
Miguel A — Google review
I feel silly for never having explored this little beach until a recent visit. Exceptionally clean and not crowded, with privacy to be found as well. Expensive but necessary beach bar at the entrance. Cute walk there too. Parking for 50 cents if you drive.
Max S — Google review
Great alternative to the busy main beach in Sayulita. It’s a beautiful area with a sandy beach with a dedicated swim area that is surrounded by rock outcroppings.Short golf cart ride from town or a 15-20 minute walk, follow the bay around to the beach. It’s 100 pesos to park a golf cart or car, you have to pay to use the port o potty, there is also an area before the beach where you can buy beverages and snacks. The cemetery is very unique and colorful.
Shaggy 5 — Google review
Small, lovely and quiet beach. There is a lifeguard and umbrella rentals available. It was not crowded and free of beach vendors. If walking, the dirt road goes through a small cemetery thus, the explanation of the beach name.

Public beach
Playa Malpaso is a beautiful secluded beach located between Sayulita and San Pancho. The hike to get there is relatively easy, with a path that takes you through wooded areas and along the hillside, offering fascinating vistas. It's recommended to go early in the morning to enjoy the beach before it gets crowded. The beach itself is described as paradise, with caves, palm trees, and strong waves.
Love the hike. I say it’s moderate, some up and down hills and you share trails with mountain bikers if coming from San Poncho. It’s about 45 minutes one way and I used google map which is fairly accurate. The trail ends on the map but you just have to keep on following the trail path. Tips if you are entering from the left gate from hacienda San Poncho, walk about 5 minutes and when you see a fork, keep on left, go about another 20-30 minutes, when you see the second fork go to the right. Beautiful and serene beach, almost empty when we went around 10am.
Alice L — Google review
Beautiful beach located North of Sayulita, about 45 mins walk from the main centre. Visited on a saturday and there were very few people. Lots of shaded areas from the trees. There are no services or vendors so take drinks and food. The sea is wild so be careful if you go in the water, the currents can get very strong. If you want peace this is the right place to go to.
Fran F — Google review
Nice "hidden" beach, with challenging waves. Some jungle hiking to get here. You don't go here for the beach, but for the hike.
Johan B — Google review
The path to arrive here is beautiful. We got here around 6am and it was empty for us. The path is a little rocky and can be pet friendly. I recommend going before the crowds. Once you arrive to this beach it's absolutely ready for it to be your own!
Nebular 3 — Google review
We hiked from Sayulita and used google maps which was fairly accurate . We then walked the beach to San Pancho through an abandoned building which was a bit sketchy . We had to run between the waves if you timed it correctly ! Then there was a guy on a quad guarding the gate to San Pancho, and another one with two dogs. We gave them 50 pesos each and went on our way. It was an interesting experience. I’ve read other reviews of people getting robbed. Just be mindful of that ! We got through with no issues ☺️ the beach was nice and secluded, but there was garbage everywhere and I felt a weird presence .
Christylee A — Google review
A relatively easy hike and 100% worth the views! Definitely worth the extra trek for a more private beach experience, but beware the waves are strong!
Lily D — Google review

Sayulita Beach is a popular destination with several sandy stretches to explore. The main beach, Playa Sayulita, is convenient but can get crowded. For a more peaceful experience, visitors can head to Playa de Los Muertos or venture to the neighboring village of San Pancho for Playa San Pancho. Mal Paso beach offers a secluded option about 20 minutes from the main beach.
Nice family feel to Sayulita. Low pressure, kind and thoughtful people. I suggest leaving your watch in the hotel. This place is a true gem.
Curtis W — Google review
This beach has lost its charm for quite some time. While the town itself has a great vibe, the crowded and somewhat unclean shoreline doesn’t exactly give off a relaxing vacation feel. Probably best to skip it
G W — Google review
The sand looks like gold is in it! Fun foods to be found so, no need for snacks. Bring $ so you are prepared and plenty of sunscreen. Depending on the season - watch out for jelly fish!
Kantor C — Google review
Gross! Do not swim or surf at this beach during the rainy season. The water is highly polluted. My girlfriend got very sick from just putting her head in the water. The next morning she woke up with a bad cough and flu-like conditions and she never gets sick. Unfortunately the main point breaks certain spot is very close to the main river outfall so it is very polluted as well. The fact that the water is between 85 and 86° during the rainy season makes it even worse because the bacteria proliferates faster in warm water. Add to the disappointing water quality is the fact that vendors have crowded the beach with lounge chairs that you have to pay for so much of the sand is taken up in this way. Some have called this a magical town but unfortunately that no longer applies to Sayulita unless that saying refers to black magic in the fact that a once beautiful place has turned into a trashy overcrowded disappointing vacation spot. My best advice is to avoid this place and look for somewhere that is cleaner and less overdeveloped.
Earth E — Google review
Great place to relax and not do anything. If you want to try surfing, it's a great location. The instructors seemed decent. The food was decent for the location. Servers knew the menu and were pleasant. Drinks were great.
Greg C — Google review
Is a beautiful beach and town it’s very recomendable for visit. The beach can become some saturated according to the turistic demand of the epoch but has a good infrastructure and is some clean. It’s a perfect place for surf lovers but you can enjoy the view and swim in the sea.
Mateo E — Google review
Nice beach. Sand is dark and kinda sticky. Lots of rocks on the beach due to the recent storms. Love the beachside food and drink options. Chairs and umbrellas are reasonable. Daily rate with bar service. Lots and lots of people will come try to sell you stuff. Oysters, shrimp on a stick, fruit, clothing, etc. great place to spend the day. Surf is ok, but the waves are a little strong and frequent to play in the water. Lots of people get knocked down when the surf is up.
George R — Google review
Beautiful beach looks like you're swimming in Gold it's very colorful very unique. the locals are very nice the shops are very eye-catching and colorful. And you can get a 1-hour massage on the beach for $25.

Carricitos, also known as Playa Carricitos, is a stunning and secluded beach located in Sayulita. With its golden sands, lush greenery, and the iconic Cerro Mono in the distance, it offers a picturesque setting away from the hustle and bustle of town. The beach is characterized by its soft sands and breathtaking sunsets, making it a popular spot for visitors seeking natural beauty.
Nice beach that isn’t very crowded & about a 30 min walk from Sayulita centre. There are a few vendors and a clothes optional part if you’re into that
Arianne W — Google review
✨ Carricitos Beach Sayulita Tips - The currents can be strong so swim at your own risk. This is a surfing beach but non-surfers can also hang out at the vast shoreline. - Bring your own food and drink: there are no stores here so you need to bring EVERYTHING. On the way to Carricitos Beach Sayulita, stop by Camacho’s, a small supermarket with the cheapest beers and snacks! - Minimal to no shade on this beach: if you want to hang out here all afternoon without burning from the sun, bring an umbrella or a tent. - Dogs can roam unleashed: this is one of the beaches in Mexico where your dogs can run around without a leash! Just be careful if there are other dogs around and maintain your distance.
Mexico I — Google review
Beautiful beach, secluded, and wonderful if you want to get away from the crowds. It’s a little bit of a walk, so don’t do it in the wet season like we did!
Maria L — Google review
You can either hike here (about 30 min) or take a golf cart (about 10 min) but either way is so worth going, beautiful, mostly empty beach. No vendors or food or drinks, so bring all you need to spend the day!
Angella V — Google review
This is our beach of choice when we visit Sayulita-great sunsets and nice & quiet mostly. **Four years later…..still amazing, clean, and everything we want for a quiet day on the beach. Be sure to bring everything you need!
Andrew J — Google review
This hidden little beach is a little bit of trek from Sayulita. Walk past the edge of town and follow the road around the corner of the bay. Stay to the left. Walk past the cemetery and then take a left when the path meets the beach. Walk up the road take your second right. Stay to the right and when you get to the top of the hill take a left. Go down the hill and around a corner and you will see the concrete entrance on the right hand side that says this way to the beach. Follow that down the sketchy and fairly steep pathway to the one of the best private beaches in Sayulita. Watch out for that rip current. My girlfriend and I saw a girl get carried away and had to help her off the rocks. This trek is definitely worth the time and effort to make the 20 to 30 minute walk from the end of the beach. I do not recommend walking there in sandals.
Nick G — Google review
It's a little difficult to get in there, it'd be by car, the entrance is by a road and the beach is beautiful, u can camp there

Playa Sayulita is a bustling sandy stretch known for swimming and surfing. The southern part of the beach is popular, with the town's entrance and businesses located there, along with the best waves. Throughout the year, various events take place here, including surf tournaments. December is a busy season due to Christmas and New Year's, while January to May offers warmer weather with fewer crowds.
Excellent spring break destination a little too happing for me but had a wonderful time there ! You must get there early in the morning the beach gets crowded .
Rob M — Google review
On my first eco tour with Vallarta Adventures, they ended off our jungle tour with a visit to Playa Sayulita, a colorful resort area with wide sandy beaches. Sadly to say, I think enjoyed my second tour better to the more remote area of Playa Clavellinas. This beach seemed made for tourists.
Graham T — Google review
A beautiful beach with great introductory waves for beginner surfing-however the amount of vendors on the beach makes it really hard to relax. You’re constantly bombarded by vendors selling anything and everything and its an all day affair of saying “no gracias” as long as you dare to sit in your chair or lay on your towel for your much deserved vacation.
David R — Google review
Fishing boats on the south end of the beach, chairs and parasols, and places where to eat or get a drink all the way to the north end. The golden sand was unexpectedly beautiful. The various sediments in the sand shifts from regular sand-coloured sand to black. As people walk, the beach retains footsteps for a while, even when the waves come in, because it is so shallow. The surface is sprinkled with golden Mica. It really looks like gold. On our first day, we quickly figured out where the safe swimming zone was (south) and where the ideal surfing zone was. You are safe close to the beach or beyond, but the surf zone can be hard to navigate if you are not a good swimmer or a local kid, who knows when to go with the flow. Just swim where people swim to remain safe and wear bright colours.
Valérie — Google review
Definitely a surfing beach, the waves were a bit too high to swim in. The water also isn't as clear. There were some very big rocks under water that highly recommend water shoes. Highly enjoyed the food vendors. There were a lot of people there but plenty of space for everyone.
Griselda G — Google review
Playa Sayulita, the town’s main beach, is a picturesque stretch of sand that draws surfers, sunbathers, and people-watchers. While the beach itself is stunning, it can become quite crowded, particularly during the midday sun. The surf seems to be a major draw, as board rentals and lessons are conveniently available right on the beach. The town of Sayulita has a very relaxed, artsy feel. Colorful flags drape across cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops, cafes, taco stands, and art galleries. It’s very walkable, with everything within easy reach—restaurants, markets, beaches, and local attractions. Expect a mix of locals, surfers, expats, and tourists all sharing the same small space. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, some parts of Sayulita can feel a bit overrun by tourism. Prices in restaurants and shops can be higher than expected for a small town in Mexico. That said, there are still plenty of affordable street food options and local spots if you’re willing to explore a little further from the main square. Overall, Sayulita is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. We took a bus from Puerto Vallarta, which took about 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. The round-trip fare was approximately 150 pesos per person, making it an affordable and easy day trip.
Francisco I — Google review
Busy beach with many seaside restaurants and folks selling souvenirs. We enjoys a snack and drinks and watching surf for about about an hour. We enjoyed it, but that was about our max for saying know to the sellers. Good people watching, lots of activity. If you're looking for a relaxing beach, this isn't the one but it's lots of fun!
Maggie P — Google review
It is a small surf town with a rustic environment. The reviews could be the equivalent of the saying "if the music is too loud you may be too old". I went 30 years late but enjoyed a sunny day.

This outdoor market operates from November through May and is a hub for local farmers and families offering high-quality natural products. Visitors can explore a variety of stalls featuring organic produce, artisan goods, and even enjoy live music while sampling delicious treats. The market is praised by visitors for its fantastic food options, fresh juices, and whimsical art pieces.
Just a wonderfully Friday only organic and artisan market from 10-2pm in Sayulita

This market is nice but can be a bit boring as same vendors every single week and it’s definetlt geared to the American population living in sayulita. I love the hummuses though and always get a juice for 50 pesos

Great farmers market every friday to the right of the bridge if you are leaving sayulita. More original and handcrafted art. Also go hungry, there are many food stands and business giving out samples. We seen coffee, paella, tamales, roasted nuts, granola and much more including fresh fruit and veggie stands. Playa Los Muertos, also known as Los Muertos Beach, is a beautiful and serene beach located in Sayulita. It offers a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the bustling Sayulita beach. The waters are generally calmer, making it perfect for swimming and enjoying a peaceful day by the sea. The beach faces north, providing ample shade even during midday. Visitors can order food and drinks from roaming vendors while lounging on the shore.
This is a beautiful beach. A little less busy than the main beach in Sayulrita. Still vendors if you're interested in a drink, snack or more. Overall though it was more crowded on this trip to this town. Previous years it seemed to be more empty.
Ben F — Google review
Come here to avoid the crowds. I think you have to pay to come to this beach but it's worth it. I can honestly say this is the only place in Mexico that doesn't water down margaritas. I've been to places that advertise "4 shots of Don Julio" in their margaritas and you can have 10 of them and perform surgery after. The water and beach and nice and clean here.
Caleb P — Google review
Great, quiet beach that's an easy walk from downtown Sayulita with a lot fewer people and great swimming. The walk through the cemetery to get to the beach was also interesting.
Deena N — Google review
If you are tired of the crowds on Sayulita beach or like a beach with generally calmer waters, like my wife, this is your beach. Definitely a few less sales pitches, also there is shade to be had even mid day because the beach faces north. You can order food and drinks from guys who rove the beaches. Parking is available for 100 pesos in the lovely cemetary, and there is a public restroom in parking lot for 10 pesos. You can walk toward the point whichever way and go through the neat portal decorated with Day of the dead art and over a small rise and wahlah you are there. Enjoy!

Great beach day with service and street vendors but away from the more aggressive vibe of Sayulita Beach. Convenient bathrooms for only $10p.

Great beach for swimming and to find shade. It’s a long hike to get here from Sayulita but worth it. There are bathroom close and a restaurant. You will find a few people selling stuff and massage services but very nice spot for a calm day.

Whale watching tour agency
Sayulita is a vibrant destination to spend the holidays, with December being a popular time due to its festive atmosphere. However, if you prefer a quieter experience, visiting in January through May is recommended as the weather warms up. For an unforgettable wildlife encounter, consider joining a whale watching excursion with La Orca de Sayulita. Their tours are led by biologists and equipped with marine microphones for an immersive experience.
We had a great afternoon what’s watching your with La Orca de Sayulita. The guides kept us informed with their knowledge of whale behaviour, while the captains took us to the best areas for whale activity. We were rewarded with up close contact with several whales during the afternoon trip and enjoyed our day thoroughly.
Murray H — Google review
I wanted to love the tour but for me it was just okay for the ~$80 USD spent per person. I think it would have been a much better experience in January when there is more whale activity (we went in early March). We saw around 7 whales and some dolphins that we followed around from a distance and watched them surface for air. There were two breaches that a couple people on board saw. The main page of the website advertises a 3hr tour but it was 2.5hrs for us. It said 2.5 during booking but the other boat from the same tour departed earlier than us and stayed out to watch whales longer. The hydrophone was dipped in the water for about 10 seconds before we were told the whales weren’t being vocal. I wish they would have attempted that a few more times to see if we could hear anything. We did learn a few things about the whales but there were also some awkward silences that could have been filled with teaching us more about these whales rather than just asking if we had any questions. The “snacks and water” was a granola bar before heading back. No waters were offered. Also, heads up that sitting on the front row of the boat during rough conditions was slightly uncomfortable.
Cody W — Google review
Had an amazing whale watching excursion on March 6, 2025. Our team sought out and found so many whale groupings. Managed to watch 5 full breeches in such close proximity in addition to moms and calves coming up to the boat within 3m. The host and captain were amazing, knowledgeable, hilarious, and truly in love with their craft. Highly HIGHLY recommended this company.

Wow! An experience I will never forget. Nico, our guide, was AMAZING and so knowledgeable. We saw many whales including a mother who she had encountered and identified before. Angel our captain was so jovial and sang to us. He is an incredible whale spotter, and we saw a whale right after taking off from the beach. Definitely take a tour with this crew if you visit Sayulita!!! 🐋

Andrea and our captain were fantastic, very knowledgeable! We saw around 20 humpbacks. They were very considerate of the whales and recorded every siting for their research. The tour was very safe and there was 9 people in total on the tour. Very worth it!

Great tour. We saw tons of hump backs and rays jumping. After following a large pod for a while, we went in search of a mom and baby, which we were lucky enough to find. They we jumping over and over, which made our trip.

This trip was absolutely incredible! Nico and her team are so knowledgeable and I learned so much! It was fascinating going on a trip guided by a marine biologist and learning so many new facts about whales and their journeys. I love that Nico was taking photos during the trip so we were able to just sit and truly experience and take in their beauty. And all the photos from our trip were emailed to us the next day! We will definitely be booking with them again!

So glad we picked this tour!! Angel was quite skilled with the boat so it was an easy ride and Andrea is so knowledgeable due to her whale research. Between the two of them, they expertly predicted the behavior of the whales, getting us into great watching spots. It was fun and interesting and we saw so many whales! We felt safe too. And the boat had shade, which was great!

Located just a few blocks from the plaza, it offers fantastic food and drink deals without breaking the bank. With daily themed nights like Wing Night and Bingo Night, there's always something fun happening here.
Came here for a late night drink. The bar was mostly empty and we were served quickly! Our bartender was very attentive the drinks were good and well priced. There’s often live music which adds to the ambiance. All in all it’s a great place!

Don't let the generic English name or tacky American tourists and bros who sometimes overtake the place fool you, these folks literally spent 30 min trying every channel they could think of to try and find me the Brazil/Colombia World Cup qualifying match. And sure enough, they found out. Really like these guys and the live salsa is great, too.
Tony A — Google review
One of my favorite places for drinks and live music and good laid back vibes
Anne S — Google review
Not only does this place have great food but every night is the best party in town. My favourite is Sunday night country night with live band. So much fun you’ll come back night after night.. the open mic night is also awesome because of all of the incredibly talented locals that perform. The staff hustle and the drinks are priced right.
Mike B — Google review
Best bar ever. They blast music the best music all night and have the coolest karaoke and MCs. They're respectful of the night ordinance and don’t let anyone sleep because you'll be having the time of your life. Incredible prices on food and drinks just a couple blocks away from the plaza. Definitely a destination spot if you're going to Sayulita. If you don't want to be around a good time and a party, maybe this place isn't right for you. Perhaps think about staying a little further away from the main square :) Also, I got to see Diplo play here. Man. What an incredible place.

Latitude is one of the best bars you can go to in sayulita. The drinks were quite strong without having to pay the premium charge. They have allocated events every single day like; Wing night, Country Music Night, Bingo Night, and Karaoke Night. The food is a nice change, Offering comfort foods that you usually get on a weekly basis. Wings, Mac and Cheese, Smash Burgers, and more. Definitely give it a visit if you just want a little break from Mexican food while still enjoying mexico with their stronger drinks ;)

Very good food for a bar! Great live music and 2 margaritas for $5!!! (100 MXN) great place.

They no longer serve food so we didn't stay. Online resources should probably be updated. Staff seemed nice though.

Huge thanks to Emilio and Leo at WildMex in Sayulita. I rented a board for a month and really appreciated the flexibility to swap it out anytime. They always helped me pick the right board for the conditions and my ability, which made a big difference. Emilio and Leo were welcoming, friendly, encouraging, and generous with their local knowledge. Highly recommend WildMex for great service and good vibes.

one of the best days of my life and it ain’t even half over. Cesar / Chiguil is an incredible teacher…made me believe in myself and I caught a few…I need practice for sure but this was the lesson I needed to get back on a board!

We had another fantastic trip, thanks to WildMex. We took an e-mountain bike tour with Alejandro on our first day here, and he was great at finding trails that were challenging enough for me but also manageable for my wife. After that, we rented the e-bikes for a week and rode the trails daily. Going surfing in the morning and biking through the jungle in the late afternoon was great. We also rode the trails to the nearby town of San Pancho and had lunch on the beach. The whole crew at Wild Mex was super friendly and even gave us tips on new trails if we saw them riding their bikes after they finished work. They also spoke English really well, which was helpful because my Spanish isn't great. I highly recommend taking a tour with WildMex so you can learn the trails.

I had the best experience surfing today with Emilio and Jorge! It really is an awesome set-up. Alex, their very kind driver picked me up in Sayulita and a very short drive later we were at their surf spot! Emilio gave a great beginner lesson and made sure I caught some waves! Jorge was a chill and really impressive teacher that took my surfing to the next level! I have already planned more lessons. And did I mention they have a pool to hang out at and super helpful staff?! Personally I did private lessons which were really affordable. 10/10 recommend. Thanks everyone!
Heather H — Google review
Had a great lesson with Jorge! I’m at the point of trying to catch my own waves (I think transition surfer level?) & got some good pointers. Def have a lot of things to refine & need to be more energy efficient 🤙🏼

On a recent visit to Sayulita Mexico I took a bike ride/tour with WildMex Surf School & Adventure Center. From first contact with them to the end of my tour I had an excellent experience. They offer prompt communication, service, flexibility, equipment and guides. My tour guide Milton was a pleasure to spend time with and was very encouraging and able to modify the course to my ability level. I highly recommend WildMex you will love it!
Adrienne B — Google review
The shuttle was on time on the way there, and we loved our surfing experience! Our instructor was fun, patient and very attentive. It was our first time and he gave us a ton of confidence and we were able to surf even with some really big waves! The ride back was later than we anticipated (there are set times) so we waiting about an hour at the location but were able to grab some snacks and drinks and hang out until our shuttle showed up at 5:30 pm. Easy, smooth and a great afternoon! Heads up: you will have to walk about 10 minutes from the surf school to the beach carrying the heavy surf board. Our instructor did offer to carry mine, but both me and my husband ended up carrying our own - not easy at all, so be prepared!

We booked Las Ilas Marietas. We were suppose to leave at 10h but because of the high tide we were told to come back at 11. I wish they would have communicated this the day before as you know the tide levels a few days before. The sea had huge waves and was very unruly. The trip out to the island was 1h30 instead of the usual 50 minutes! We saw a lot of whales, it was spectacular. You have to swim to the beach from the boat, so I would only recommend for strong swimmers. You have 25 minutes including the swim in and out, so it’s a very quick visit. This is regulated by the marine guards. Then you are back on the boat to go snorkel. You also only have 25 minutes to snorkel, there’s some cool fishes. Again because of how bad the sea was that day, it took us over 2h to come back to Sayulita. The captain was tired and sore, I was too from holding on to the boat as it jumped waves. I wish they had rescheduled since the sea is typically flat and it was really dangerous. It was worth it for the whales that we saw, but the islands are not must-see, but they are cool. Also please note there’s no dedicated time to lunch or snack. Bring food, but it will be a struggle to eat during the tour.

We had a wonderful ATV adventure with Jorge from Sayulita Tours! Easy to book through what's app and it was a safe and exhilarating afternoon! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing ATV tour with Sayulita tours last week. I wish we could remember our guides name but he was fantastic, so knowledgeable about the area, and so attentive to detail; ensuring we were safe and comfortable throughout the trip. We toured all over the local Sayulita area and saw some amazing spots we never would’ve otherwise. We loved Learning about the local area, including plants and animals and we’re really impressed with our guides knowledge and kindness. Our guide had over 16 years of hospitality and tour experience in the region; I highly recommend Sayulita tours if you’re looking for a fun activities on your next vacation.

After long anticipation of the horse riding tour, I was so happy for the magical experience. Went on with an amazing guide Tara, there were only two of us. Tbe guides took great care of choosing the right saddle for me ( I am short) and on we went. Jungle ride, galloping on the beach and amazing photos to remember that evening! Highly recommend this company, lots of real human interactions and honest vibe!

We were looking for a horseback riding experience with strong, healthy horses that were well cared for, and guides who could support a group with mixed riding abilities — from complete beginners to those with prior experience. Sayulita Tours did not disappoint! The horses were beautiful, well-trained, and clearly loved by their caretakers. The guides were friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone felt comfortable by giving thorough pre-ride instructions before we set off. Our ride took us through the town, along the beach, and into the jungle. We even got to enjoy a stunning overlook of Sayulita’s beaches and had the chance to gallop along the shore — an unforgettable experience! Photos and videos were taken throughout the ride and shared with us at no extra cost, which was a wonderful bonus. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable horseback adventure in Sayulita. They also have other tour adventures. They don’t disappoint!! Luis and Yeni along with the other guides did a fantastic job

Horseback riding with Luis was the highlight of our trip. The horses were incredible- so beautiful and well taken care of. Our guides Santiago and Jaya led us through an incredible experience. They took amazing photos of us galloping along the beach in the sunset. The entire experience was spectacular. I highly recommend.

We did the one hour tour of horse back riding with Jorje and it was really good. It was me na my 9 yo daughter, we each had a horse, the guide led my daughters horse frim his horse. The horses were super calm and very agreeable. I have not ridden since I was 16, so no recent experience and it felt safe and relaxed. We went to the jungle and tipped a hill overlooking the town, then rode to the hidden beach which was beautiful. I recommend doing the early tour at 9am to avoid the heat and masses of people. Thanks so much Jorje and Sayulita Tours team!

The Iguana Tree in Sayulita is a fascinating sight to behold, located right in front of a hotel. It is home to numerous iguanas, with visitors often spotting at least a dozen of them camouflaging within the branches. Throughout their visits, many have observed between 3 to 9 iguanas lounging in the tree on any given day. It's quite an experience to witness these magnificent creatures just hanging out in their natural habitat.
Such a cool thing to see. Except recently a huge part of the tree seems to have fallen during rain. 😰 hope the iguanas are okay.

Steve B — Google review
If you want the iguanas to get closer, they are very tempted by bananas. Any green leaf salad is much better for them and they will come down for those but if you really want to give them a treat and don't care about their sugar levels, you can feed them banana
Victor S — Google review
Walked past this tree nearly every day of our visit and it consistently had at least 3 and sometimes up to 9 iguanas in it.
