Casino
Casinos & Gambling
The Casino de Monte-Carlo is an elegant Beaux-Arts building that has gained fame through its appearances in film and literature. It offers upscale casino gaming, including blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and slot machines. The casino is housed in a stunningly majestic 1800s building with turrets and cupolas that give it the appearance of a palace.
Visit before 12:00 and you can walk around the rooms listing to the audio guide for €20 per adult. It’s an amazing place to visit even if you are not gambling. If you wish to gamble you can return after 14:00 and access again or just turn up after 14:00. You will need a passport to access even when there’s no gaming. Enjoy a meal or a drink at the bar it’s a fantastic atmosphere.

Words don’t do this place justice. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the architecture and internal design on the ceilings. Honestly it gets better the further in you explore. We opted to get a Casino ticket to have a look around and had a bit of fun on the slot machines. I just couldn’t stop looking up at the ceiling. The designs are honestly beautiful. It’s definitely worth seeing if you like a visual feast.
Sean G — Google review
It is a lovely and well decorated place. Yet, they have a 20€ entry fee which is completely ridiculous. They trade on their reputation. I have been to dozens of casinos in different parts of the world that have fine art, beautul decor, and they welcome you without a tourist fee. There are lots of slot machines which definitely detract from the ambiance. The views in Monte Carlos lovely.
Mike L — Google review
I only spend few minutes in front and got what I came for. Many nice cars passing around ! Just be careful not to block them and be respectful. The casino is also very beautiful from the outside, I haven’t tried my luck to go in.
Laurent F — Google review
A famous casino where many luxury cars are often parked in the plaza. To enter the main lobby, there’s a simple bag check. Inside, you’ll find a service counter — appropriate attire, a passport, and the minimum exchange amount for chips are required to enter the casino. The souvenir shop inside the lobby is also worth a visit. Good luck. 🎰
Fu S — Google review
Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is an iconic establishment that exudes elegance, luxury, and charm. Built in 1863, this architectural masterpiece continues to captivate visitors with its opulent interiors and world-class gaming experience. As you step into the grand lobby, you are greeted by a stunning atrium adorned with marble floors, ornate pillars, and a breathtaking chandelier. The ambiance transports you to an era of old-world glamour, reminiscent of James Bond films and high society gatherings. The casino boasts a variety of gaming options, including approximately 140 gaming tables featuring Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat, and Roulette. Both traditional and modern slot machines are available, ensuring there's something for every type of player. For those seeking higher stakes, exclusive gaming rooms cater to elite clientele. The staff at Casino de Monte-Carlo are professional and friendly, ensuring your experience is both enjoyable and memorable. Whether you're a seasoned gambler or simply looking to immerse yourself in the lavish atmosphere, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is a must-visit destination when in Monaco. Overall, the Casino de Monte-Carlo lives up to its reputation as a premier gaming establishment. Its elegant ambiance, top-notch gaming options, and attentive staff combine to create an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

It is very luxury place and The Casino de Monte-Carlo is a legendary entertainment complex known for its opulent Belle Époque architecture. Designed by Charles Garnier, who also created the Paris Opera, it features stunning frescoes, sculptures, and gaming rooms. Since its 1863 opening, the casino's success was pivotal in solidifying Monaco's wealth, allowing Prince Charles III to eliminate taxes for residents. The complex also includes the prestigious Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Immortalized in James Bond films like GoldenEye, the venue remains a glamorous destination, though Monaco citizens are forbidden from gambling inside.
Niraj K — Google review
It was an experience. Absolutely stunning architecture all over. So grand inside. A must visit place if in Monaco. The entire casino is so special. Monegasques are forbidden to enter , work or gamble here. Designed by the famous architect of the Paris Opera. Foreigners just need to pay a fee of Euro 20 ... 10 euro entrance fee and 10 euro voucher for a drink or u cud use the voucher to gamble. Please dress smart to enter. We did however win 11 euro just for fun. The building will be lighted up at sunset. Which makes nice photography shots. Also many beautiful supercars parked in front to add to yr beautiful photos. Remember to list this place in your bucket list.

Jardins Saint-Martin is a serene and picturesque public garden with terraced levels, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Established in 1830, the garden is adorned with a variety of Mediterranean and tropical plants, as well as a charming pond teeming with carp. Visitors can admire the iconic statue of Prince Albert commanding his ship at the lower level while enjoying a postcard-worthy view of the museum against the backdrop of the French Riviera coastline.
Jardins Saint Martin in Monaco is a true gem and my favorite spot in the principality. Perched along the cliffs, the garden offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with lush greenery and vibrant flowers creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere—perfect for a leisurely stroll or quiet reflection. It’s also thoughtfully equipped with free public restrooms, making it convenient for visitors. And to top it all off, I saw a huge gray heron during my visit!
Eki R — Google review
It’s a great place to take a quiet break from sightseeing, with benches to sit and enjoy the view, and sculptures dotted throughout, including one of Prince Albert I. Some paths are slightly steep, but overall it’s easy to stroll through and very photogenic.
Sara I — Google review
Tucked away in Monaco-Ville, these gardens are a serene escape from the city's bustle. I was captivated by the sweeping views of the Mediterranean and the charming cliffside paths. The lush greenery, including Aleppo pines and vibrant agaves, creates a peaceful atmosphere. Notably, the bronze statue of Prince Albert I adds a touch of elegance. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a moment of reflection. Highly recommended for anyone seeking tranquility amidst the beauty of Monaco.
Kungfu-pigeon — Google review
These garden is a very special spot in Monaco to enjoy the nature, view and the statues. With beautifully landscaped paths, exotic plants, and colorful flowers, they offer a relaxing escape surrounded by nature. From several spots along the walkways, you get spectacular sea views that make the stroll even more special. The gardens are perfectly maintained and filled with benches where you can rest and enjoy the scenery.
Gabriele D — Google review
One of the best place you can visit in Monaco. It opens up a different side of the city - the beauty of nature. It’s a breathtaking place I recommend everyone to visit
Yuriy B — Google review
This public park offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean and Port de Fontvieille from atop a cliff. Located right outside the Cathédrale de Monaco, this park basically connects the Prince's Palace to the Oceanographic Museum, which I found super convenient! The grounds are very well kept. The garden is big enough to feel peaceful and quiet, but small enough to walk across in just under 15 minutes. The only downside is this park does close at 18:00 (6pm), so don't wait until evening to get here. However, I recommend this for the views alone and the central location.
Mike M — Google review
Breathtakingly beautiful gardens. Perfectly manicured and sculpted. Over 8,000 plants and tree varieties. Beautiful brick pathway. A must see!

Larvotto Beach is a popular man-made beach in Monaco, offering clear waters and a scenic promenade. It features twin coves with over 1,300 feet of pebbled shores along Avenue Princesse Grace. Visitors can enjoy beachside eateries, a playground area, watersports rentals, and a beach volleyball court. The shallow waters make it ideal for kids, and the beach is equipped with facilities, bars, and restaurants nearby.
Loved the beach! Beautiful, clean water with a lot of good vibes! Nice atmosphere, free public showers and toilets The beach has pebbles instead of sand so recommended to wear water shoes Bars, restaurants, café’s located around the beach
Roland V — Google review
One of the best beaches in the world. Clean, no debris, crystal clear water with lots of fish, great pier to dive into the water. Good for kids & lots of beach side restaurants
Philipp T — Google review
This is a lovely spot! Just take a look at the photos, and you'll see the beautiful sandy beach, though there is some dirt in the water. The free showers are a nice touch. Benches are available for about 40€ per day. It’s a wonderful place for kids to play and for families to relax together.
Amir A — Google review
Plage du Larvotto in Monaco is one of those places that perfectly captures the idea of a beach in the city without losing its calm or charm. it’s not a sandy beach, which is actually a plus — no sticky sand everywhere, just smooth pebbles and a clean walkway. the water is super clear, calm, and very inviting, which makes it great for a swim even right next to the main promenade. everything feels well maintained and organized, just as you’d expect in monaco. along the beach you’ll find a nice selection of restaurants and cafés, all modern and stylish but not over the top. you can grab a proper lunch at neptune or miami plaje, or just stop for a coffee or aperol at one of the smaller places right by the water. it’s a great setup — you can spend the day there easily, moving between the beach and the cafés without ever feeling rushed. the whole area has been recently redone, and it shows. the promenade looks great, the facilities are clean, and the vibe is balanced between relaxed locals and visitors enjoying the view. even though it’s the main public beach, it never feels chaotic. overall, larvotto is easily one of the nicest city beaches around. clean water, easy access, good food, and no sand to deal with — it’s the kind of place you’ll always end up coming back to.
Arian R — Google review
The only public beach in Monaco, nice and accessible to go for a quick dip or lay all day in the sun. The beach bars and restaurants are on the beach, there is a lot of other content, like beach shops, some festivals etc. The sea is very dirty though.
Daniel — Google review
The beach it self is very clean and has a nice view. On the contrary, it is not very big, has almost no trees at all and is quite expensive.Ideal for the ones that like to experience a more luxorious beach experience, but the beaches in the nearby at the French coast are more family-friendly.
Petra S — Google review
The beach is fine, but honestly nothing special. Yes, the water is clear and the view with yachts is very “Monaco”, but the beach itself is pebbles - not the most comfortable if you’re not on a sunbed. Renting a lounger with an umbrella feels nice, but for the price you kind of expect more. It’s definitely clean and safe, but also crowded and not very relaxing
Irene S — Google review
⸻ Review: Larvotto Beach – Serenity and Family Comfort in the Heart of Monaco Larvotto Beach, located in the heart of Monaco, is a beautifully maintained seaside spot that perfectly blends natural beauty with accessibility and comfort. Recently renovated, the beach offers a safe and welcoming environment for visitors of all ages — particularly families with children. The shoreline is a mix of soft gravel and sand, making it comfortable to walk and relax on. The calm, shallow waters are ideal for kids and casual swimmers, thanks to the protected bay structure that keeps the sea gentle even on windier days. What makes Larvotto Beach especially appealing is its easy access: it’s within walking distance from central Monaco, well-connected by public transport, and offers nearby parking. The promenade is flat and stroller-friendly, and the beach is equipped with clean public restrooms, showers, and facilities for people with reduced mobility. Along the seafront, you’ll find a variety of restaurants and cafés — perfect for a leisurely lunch, a quick bite, or simply enjoying a drink with a view. The area is peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully designed for a full day of seaside enjoyment. ⸻ Overall Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Larvotto Beach is a must-visit for anyone in Monaco looking for a relaxing and family-friendly beach experience. With calm waters, convenient access, and great amenities, it’s an ideal spot for a pleasant day by the Mediterranean — highly recommended.

CK C — Google review
The Opéra de Monte-Carlo, also known as the Salle Garnier, is a jewel of Monaco’s cultural life. Designed by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera, it features stunning Belle Époque architecture and a richly decorated interior. The opera house is intimate yet elegant, creating a unique atmosphere for performances. Even if you are not an opera lover, the building itself is worth seeing for its beauty and history.
Mateo B — Google review
The hall is stunning — truly breathtaking. But don’t you dare order wine at the café by the entrance unless you’re in the mood for juice with a strange smell. The service there was awful, too. In any case, we attended the pianist Vsevolod Zavidov’s concert — he was phenomenal, and the acoustics were excellent. A highly recommended experience!

Fantastic experience watching Phantom of the Opera. Would love to return in the future. Great atmosphere and proximity to stage. Wonderful!
Sue H — Google review
We went to see the Fantom of the Opera show on Christmas eve and it was magical. An experience worth doing at least once in a lifetime. The show was amazing, the sound system was perfect and the venue itself simply splendid. The chairs are not very confortable for a 2.5h of sitting, but the rest of the experience makes it worth your pain. We loved it! The price was affordable: 100€ /person and we booked online long in advance to have good seats.

Hôtel de France is a modest accommodation option located in Monte Carlo, offering simply furnished rooms and featuring a bar and casual TV lounge for guests to unwind. Situated centrally, it provides an affordable choice for travelers looking to explore the French Riviera without overspending.
Bathroom is a bit small, but other than that a good hotel for a great price in Monaco. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great low cost hotel in a great location. A place for visitors on business. Not a holiday venue. But always clean and staff are really nice. No lift.

Cute hotel in Monaco in a side street close to the center. Rooms are very clean and I had a balcony. Beds are a little small if you’re above 180 but other than that really good price/value. Staff is very friendly too. Definitely will book again
Daniel S — Google review
Exactly as advertised. Loved the location - easy walk to market, train station, shops/restaurants, palace, casino. Buses nearby. Close to Eze. Room small but comfortable outstanding housekeeping. Friendly desk staff - helpful and accommodating. Shower tiny but good water flow. Overall it worked out perfectly as a home base to visit many other destinations. Close to city pool which was a good take with my 13 year old. Great coffee and good enough breakfast to start our day off right. Would love to see a bit more cheer added with fresh flowers at reception!
Sharron M — Google review
The hotel, even though is 2 * hotel, is very clean, and located in a very good area, close to port Hercule (5 minutes walk), also close to Palais Principer . They clean your room and change towels everyday, if you put the sign on the door for cleaning. Also a very big plus is the AIRCO, which is realy necesarry and satisfying during these realy hot times of 27-38 degrees. 2 downsides would be: no elevator, so if you have maby luggage, goodluck climbing those stairs! And the breakfast is reaaaly poor, so don't count on that . Overall, good stay if you come to visit Monaco. Enjoy!
Florentina N — Google review
Cheapest option you'll find in Monaco. The receptionist was nice, the room was exactly as advertised in the pictures, shampoo and soap were provided for. The hotel itself wasn't cheap per se, but I think it's the cheapest you will find in Monaco. The location was good. On the other hand, the bathroom was a little too small and when you are in the toilet you almost hit the lavatory. There's no elevator.
Adriana C — Google review
I’m a doctor and I visit Monaco for work frequently and I never had a terrible service , cold room and very rude receptionist like this. The didn’t have lifts in the whole facilities and the “ French gentleman “ who was covering the very small desk ....we asked him if could help as we had 4 languages and I had some back injuries and he replied: “you will be fine and you are strong tall men and you will not die “! For 2 days they “forget “ to replace towels !!?! DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL! Terrible!!!!!!!
Andrea T — Google review
If you are looking for a cheap accommodation in Monaco this is the place! The hotel is located very close to the centre and about a 15-min walk from the casino! There is a public parking nearby, in which you get a discount if you are guest of the hotel. Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly! Breakfast is decent.

Hotel
Hôtel CAPITOLE is a traditional three-star hotel located in Beausoleil, just 1 km from Larvatto Beach and 300 meters from the Monte-Carlo Casino. It offers cozy rooms with free WiFi and optional breakfast. Despite being situated in France, it's conveniently close to Monte-Carlo, making it a great value for its prime location. Guests appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the proximity to markets, restaurants, shops, and beaches.
Stayed here during a motorcycle trip. The hotel is just over into France, but that’s a formality. It’s well situated with it only being a 5-10minute walk to Casino Square. There was plenty of parking for the bike outside, and I didn’t feel worried about the security of my bike. The hotel staff were very welcoming. I had a room with a nice double bed, a nice sized bathroom with good powerful shower. I had patio doors out onto a balcony which meant I could wash and then dry some of my motorbike clothes. The air con in the room was good. The bed was comfy, and a good size. It had everything I needed. This hotel was cheaper than staying actually in Monaco, and I was a bit worried it would be far out, but it didn’t feel that at all. I could easily pop back and change or shower etc. great hotel, thank you
Jay D — Google review
I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is quiet & very clean. Everything was modern in the bathroom. The room was spacious with a beautiful view to an outdoor garden with a mural. Got around Monaco pretty well by bus and walking. Best to get a ride service to & from Monaco Station if you have large luggage or pay for airport transfers.
Laquita W — Google review
Sorely in need of upgrades. Still using actual keys for the rooms. The refrigerator is in an unvented cabinet so you have to leave the door open or it won't cool. The attached picture is our 1st floor room on the "private garden". And if you would like to iron your clothes you can take them down to the restaurant and iron them on a table. So bad that we left a day early. The short bald man was especially rude and didn't even bother to ask why we were checking out a day early. The justification for all of this was that you're in Monaco, you shouldn't expect any better at this price. Do yourself a favor, either pay for the $700/night room in a legit establishment or do the 30 minute train ride and stay in Nice.
Dave S — Google review
I could have given this hotel a 5 star rating. The staffs were great and helpful. Can’t remember his name but thank you for all of your efforts in helping us getting a taxi . My only concern is the shower. The water from the shower doesn’t drain properly and you have to wipe the floor dry. Other rooms are nice with good showers.
Larry A — Google review
Top location, just a few minutes from Monte Carlo. Good and clean rooms, friendly staff.
Svilen D — Google review
The rooms are not new, but they do serve well, and the bathroom is good. The staff is super friendly and they'll gladly help you plan your trips in Montecarlo. As for the position it's just a 10 minutes walk from the casino square, you won't find anything better at this price
Davide B — Google review
Ditto to the other good reviews. 5 stars because you can't beat the price for the location and it's still very clean, proper, and has ac. I forgot the name of the front desk lady, but she sounded (obviously) French and was just a lovely lady to work with. If you want a newer hotel with a view, then this place isn't for you, and you're gonna have to pony up about 2x to stay elsewhere.

We enjoyed our stay at the Alfred Hotel. You can walk into Monte Carlo, the rooms are nice and clean. Large bathroom was great. The rooftop bar was lovely and we enjoyed cocktails with a great view. The staff were super nice. The breakfast buffet was excellent - great variety and pleasant dining room. Great value overall.

I stayed at this hotel a couple of days ago and everything was absolutely perfect! The hotel has a great location, less than 5 minutes walk from Monaco and within walking distance of the train station. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, and ready to fulfill any request. I had trouble finding a place to print some documents, and they were extremely helpful! I highly recommend this hotel!

My family and I had a wonderful experience at the Alfred Hotel. Staff in particular Mario were warm, welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were great, beds comfortable, and the rooftop bar is a nice place to relax and unwind. The breakfast was amazing. All the staff were professional, friendly and cared about our experience. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. We will be visiting again with the football recommences.

The Alfred Hotel in Monaco was a great choice of hotel. With a convenient location, friendly staff, very nice rooms and great breakfast, our trip to Monaco was very pleasant. The rooftop was an added bonus with great 360 views of Monaco - making a great place for a cocktail!

Only a steep 250m from the train station, this freshly modernized hotel is a gem! Friendly obliging service at front desk and new lift to our room which is clean, cool and has modern fittings. Don't forget the view from the rooftop bar serving icy beers, cocktails and prosecco to go with unobstructed views of the harbour and tasty pizzas! Perfect! Comfortable beds, fresh linen and double glazing quiet, tasty breakfast = High recommendations
