Chez Albert is a well-known restaurant located in the old fishing port, offering a bustling harbor atmosphere with nautical decorations and a terrace. The place is famous for its grilled fish dishes such as turbot and an assortment of regional wines. The seafood platter is highly recommended, featuring local oysters, lobster, crab, scampi, and other delicacies from the sea. The friendly waitstaff are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to assist diners with their selections.
Was here only for drinks as it was mid afternoon, in-between seatings. The waiter (perhaps owner?) was a hoot. Sharp tongue and wit. Perfect sangria rouge and white wine spritz. The view here is lovely in the good sunny weather, overlooking the harbour. Would definitely return. The menu for dinner did look good. Next time.
Jana O — Google review
First things first. The Terrasse is great and the inside has so much Charme. Food was two different expirience. The scampi and the fish been good (hello it’s a seafood restaurant) but the meat alternative defenetly not on the same level. It’s quite narrow in the restaurant so you defenetly know everything about your neighbor after the dinner 😉 Service was a bit hectic and fighting their way trough the narrow rows. But all in all solid.
Jo N — Google review
Chez Albert is a highly recommended place who gladly took a group of nine of us without reservation and gave impeccable service with a smile. Facing the coast, they had such delicious seafood serving oysters, lobsters, prawns etc. Even if you're not a seafood lover, their mains are wonderful and we had a wonderful time here. Service is great, food is great, and the ambience is great. What more can we ask for? You will not be disappointed :) Thank you for a wonderful lunch here.
Cheryl G — Google review
Absolutely delicious – Chez Albert has instantly become our favorite place in Biarritz! Reservations are essential; we even saw a line of people waiting with bookings. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a table on the terrace, but even inside the atmosphere was warm and very pleasant. The food was outstanding from start to finish – from the platter of oysters to the Saint-Pierre fish, every dish was exceptional. The dessert made with wild strawberries was unforgettable, a perfect ending to the meal. Service was excellent – attentive, friendly, and professional. Overall, it was simply divine: incredibly tasty food, wonderful atmosphere, and a place we’ll be coming back to again and again. Truly a masterpiece of dining in Biarritz!
Lev C — Google review
Staff was super friendly (even tho they were so busy) and all the food we tried was fresh and delicious. Would definitely come back.
Paula S — Google review
Probably the best seafood lunch we ever had - the Plat de Fruit de Mer Royal, supplemented by an Assiette de Fruits de Mer - with a crisp dry Bandol white followed by a shared ice creamed profiterole and coffees. It was simply outstanding. Not inexpensive, but worth every euro. We didn't hold back, such was the all-round quality. Lauren (I hope that is spelt correctly) attended to us superbly. Reservations recommended, but may not be essential outside peak holiday season.
Tony O — Google review
We really liked this place, it's expensive but not over priced and the quality is there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything was great from the starter to the desert. It was a fantastic experience! Highly recommended!

Chistera & Coquillages is a stylish restaurant in Biarritz, France, offering artfully presented seafood dishes, tapas, and paella.
Very good seafood restaurant with really fresh and amazing food. We took oysters, pintxo with foie gras, turbot, ceasar salad and menu for kids. All were delicious along with with very kind service. I would only work on improvement of wine menu. I recommend this place!
Tadeusz W — Google review
We arrived at Halles de Biarritz as it was closing at 2pm, so we decided to go next door to Chistera & Coquillages with its inviting outdoor tables. The cochon au lait and seafood paella are really good, paired with a glass of local white wine. Very cool and relaxing vibe.
Carl W — Google review
Not our first time at Chistera & Coquillages — and as always, we had a great experience! The food is consistently high quality, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want when dining in Biarritz — lively but relaxed. We ordered several dishes and everything was spot on. Compared to London, the prices are definitely cheaper for the quality you get. Always a pleasure to come back here, highly recommend!
VIC — Google review
We went quite early for dinner so the service was quick and the food was great! Unfortunately the prefer dish that we wish to had was not available so the choice was quite limited.
Pawinee J — Google review
Beautiful & cozy! The food was delicious, our only downside was that there was no translation available for the menu, but we picked some random dishes & everything was SUPER tasty and presented beautifully
Sketchy K — Google review
We went with 7 friends. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful decorated. The food is delicious. The service is good. The staff are very friendly. Only some of them seem unfriendly. 😅 But overall, all the staff are lovely. We can't speak French, but the person who served us she spoke English and provided excellent service. She were friendly and smiling. Every dish was delicious. The desserts were delicious, especially the cheese tart. However, the wait for the food and dessert was very long. The washroom is clean. There are 2 upstairs and downstairs.
SomcHun L — Google review
2025 - visited again early Aug, totally disappointed by the declining quality of food and taste, particularly grilled Turbot, the restaurant replaced the whole fish by the fillet, I highly doubt it is pre-cooked, because no grilled flavors at all… 2024- I highly recommend ordering the grilled Turbot, ideal for sharing between two people. It's cooked to perfection, and the fish itself is incredibly fresh and delicious.
Jorvik Z — Google review
The place was extremely busy when we went, but service was timely and helpful. We ordered two tapas apiece, and all four were outstanding. Pate, shrimp, ham, but foie gras were all worth ordering again, if only we had had room. Portion sizes were on the larger side for tapas, and, given the quality, prices were very reasonable.

Nestled above the Musee de la Mer, Olatua Biarritz is a contemporary restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience with stunning ocean vistas. This charming spot not only offers delicious sharing boards and bowls of Basque tapas but also features a lovely terrace where families can relax while children play nearby. The panoramic views include the iconic Rocher de la Vierge, making it an ideal location for sunset meals or leisurely lunches.
We arrived at 7pm and were put on a waiting list for the rooftop, you leave your phone number and can get a drink at the downstairs bar. We were called at 8:15pm, Just in time to have some food before the sunset. It is a beautiful spot for the sunset, felt very special. Service was quick. The music is 80s/90s vibe rather than beach club. Once the sun sets it gets a little chilly, so take a jumper!

Downstairs bar around the side of the restaurant has fantastic views. Staff are great as are the gin cocktails
David B — Google review
Bit hard to find! Just folllow the signs to the aquarium boutique shop, which will be up a few flights of stairs. Take your time but push through since the view is def worth it! The customer service at the restaurant is amazing! The food is very fresh and clean. Perfect for the view overlooking the water with the waves crashing in the background. Great place to also have a conversation as well, not too loud and just the right amount. Attached is a picture of the tuna tataki which was 20euros
Winnie S — Google review
Epic views from what must be one of the best spots in Biarritz. Friendly staff, nice cocktails, and interesting sharing plates meant we had a great couple of hours here. Very highly recommended and looking forward to returning soon. Best croque monsieur I ever had (truffled) Check it out!
N W — Google review
The food was great, maybe a bit too pricey, but worth going. The service personnel was very nice, we arrived when the place was full, but we could wait at the bar downstairs and got a call from them when there was a free table. Nice atmosphere and great view on the ocean. I had a Mediterranean sour, croquettes and hummus, and everything was served on time and tasted very well. Highly recommended.
Vincenzo M — Google review
We first ended up at the one below where we had the nicest barman with the friendliest service, had a few drinks and enjoyed the beautiful view. We realised they also have a restaurant on the roof and the bar man advised us to check it out. We first tried to get into the restaurant with our drinks from downstairs, that didn't work 🤣 after we have finished our drinks we managed to get inside and found a nice table with another great view. The restaurant only serves food from 19:00 so we opted for a few drinks before we could order food. 19:00 arrived but the waiter never arrived again. When we were tired of waiting we were ready to get up and leave, the waiter suddenly appeared. We ordered, food was delicious which made up for the poor service. Shortly after we finished our food we paid the bill and left. If you are willing to wait for food then this place is definitely recommended. The cocktails must try of course.
Stephan G — Google review
FYI there is a rooftop (restaurant) and a bar that is underneath it. The rooftop was closed due to rain earlier that day so only the bar was open. It was standard charcuterie only stuff that was fairly average and pricey drinks. The sausage was meh, smoked salmon was decent, and the tuna pate was good.

Perfect combo of wonderful food and drink concessions combined with some fab eat in options. Our fave is the steak Great atmosphere and just whats needed between Biarritz and Bayonne - in fact every town needs such a combo.

Lots of choice. Great quality. Quite pricy compared to food in English markets.

Excellent fruit and prepared food, though note this market is in a big busy noisy hall. It might not quite be what tourists expect a french (street) market to be like...

A good atmosphere and environment, but was disappointed to be charged €17 for a small portion of chicken at one of the market stalls. Daylight robbery!

Fresh seafood right by the seaside, perfect. The shrimps and the octopus salad were really good. The grilled sardines and filet were good but would skip the mussels next time. Came on a Sunday and parking is very hard to find. Would suggest coming early to beat the crowds.
Arthur C — Google review
Amazing sea food. Great location, fresh sardines…. The best I have had throughout Europe. Fresh, simple, grilled yummies🤣. Octopus salad was absolutely amazing, fresh, tender…. Yummy. The garlic sauce for the mussels were amazing ingredients!!! And went so well with chips!
Paul G — Google review
Casa Juan Pedro. No tablecloths, no pretense, just the sea, a grill, and people who know exactly what the hell they’re doing. The king prawns? Charred just enough to taste like they crawled straight out of the ocean and into the fire. Oysters, cold, briny punches to the face. Squid so tender it practically apologized as you chewed. And the tuna tartare? Clean, sharp, alive. Like the ocean, diced. Washed it all down with Basque cider, funky, wild, beautiful. Like the region itself. Then a chocolate mousse that didn’t try too hard, because it didn’t need to. This is how it’s done. No bull, No ego. Just the kind of meal you remember when you’re staring down your last days, hoping you did something right.
Duncan — Google review
Excellent food! Great price-quality! The waiters are very busy but they don’t forget anything that you ask or request and also they’re so nice! We had the sardines, rabas and fries! Truly amazing food, really fresh and well-cooked! The location is very nice right near a small port.

Great priced, for being on the seaside, restaurant. Excellent shrimp and fish dishes with a bottle of rose. parfait!

Very affordable, the best place to be on the sunny day. I craved for moules frites and I satisfied my craving here with a side order of grilled sardines. Would do it again any day.

The Blue Cargo is a trendy venue located just a few kilometers from Biarritz, facing the beautiful Ilbarritz beach in Bidart. It features a gourmet restaurant housed in a stunning villa, which becomes a hotspot for partygoers once night falls. DJs transform the beach into an open-air dance floor, and enthusiastic guests even dance on the tables. The adjacent tapas bar, La Plancha, is popular among locals for its delicious grilled fish dishes.
One of the best meals I’ve had a long time. Reasonably priced with an amazing view. Parking is at a premium in the area - but have no fear, they have valet parking! The staff were super-friendly and knowledgable on the meals. The upstairs restaurant is for the grown-ups and Gen Y types are down in the bar closer to the beach. The live DJ had some great tunes. Book ahead as this popular but it’s a well worth a visit.
Andrew G — Google review
Very lovely location with stunning views to enjoy drinks and the amazing sunset. Also great for the kids to walk down a short flight of stairs to the beach to entertain themselves. Food was ‘so la la’ but good enough for the kids to stay fully charged. Service reminded us more of a club. young, cool, pretty - but probably not there to make a gastro career :) towards 22:00 there is a change happening, where the terrace transforms to a club… with tables being cleared… as a subtle signal to pack up the kids. But definitely a lovely place to have some nice early evening drinks for a family.

A nice restaurant which turns into a nightclub. Especially with Nell who provides personalised service and with colleagues serving heavy glasses of rosé, you almost forget how good the food is, and it’s amazing. Combine that with the good cocktails and the amazing view, it’s incredible.

Very nice place! The views are amazing, good variety of dishes but you will get much better food quality and taste in other places in the area with that price! Very good experience overall.
Joe F — Google review
Had a wonderful lunch on the beach. Made reservation 2 weeks in advance and got a beach facing table. The three starters were the Tomato Burrata, Watermelon Salad and Salmon Gravalax. (See picture) For main course the Fish of the Day ( Dorado) and the Salmon. All were excellent. Would not have put watermelon and feta cheese together....but glad BC did! For dessert we did the fresh berries, Gateaux Basque and Chocolate/Raspberry ice cream And as a bonus, we can officially say we have been to France!

Saline Ceviche Bar - Restaurant Biarritz is a popular dining spot located on 62 Rue Gambetta, 64200 Biarritz, France. With its unique concept and inviting ambiance, it's a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with an emphasis on ceviche, providing guests with an opportunity to savor fresh and flavorful dishes.
Dedicated and competent staff, the food is a reflection of that. We absolutely love the pulled pork which reminds us of our traditional cuisine. The ceviche is also very refreshing
Antoine D — Google review
We had our first dinner in Biarritz in this restaurant, and picked it because it promised to serve the best Seviche. Service was impeccable - polite, fast, attentive. A disappointment for us personally was Seviche starters. First of all, they were too expensive (12-14€), second of all, the Peruvian Seviche lacked of taste. The main dish was tasty though, both fish and chicken, we especially liked rice with beans.
Julia — Google review
Absolutely amazing and worth every single word of praise! Very good quality, tasty and beautifully served!
Liudvika S — Google review
A, French take on Peruvian/ Hawaiianesque food. Great idea. Hence the reason for the visit. Peruvian food, lives of distinct flavors felt this, was too toned down for the local customers. Many French prefer that. Lacked spice and distinct flavors where it was needed. Enjoyed the 🐙 of the day. Service was a little clonky nontheless it deserves 3/5. A few smiles in between saved it 😊. Presentation was mixed. All in all ok with a, lot of room for improvement. The chocolate mousse presentation definitely needs more love. Re using your knifes and fork at 20+ euros à plate à little naughty... Exécution Felt extremely casual. Think this is what they aim for however then the food and presentation need to shine this was too casual. Menus have torn pages in some cases and service did not always follow up. Tried to order more drinks twice. Hope this improves as the potential is there.
Remco H — Google review
Great interieur, good choice of meals. Ceviche was really good, pulpo and fish was okay, but not outstanding (price / taste). Unfortunately service was quite poor - only 1-4 tables were occupied and still no one took care of our empty glasses etc.
Sonni — Google review
Terrific Ceviche, friendly service. Table on the street was a bit impacted by the traffic.
Chris B — Google review
Agree with another one of the reviews: the Peruvian ceviche was totally flavorless and felt like it was missing an ingredient. The Nikkei was very good. Overall not an essential stop for ceviche lovers, but not bad.

I don’t know where to begin. This place was recommended by the lovely staff at Hôtel de l’Océan, and it was an amazing surprise. Without any expectations, we were welcomed by the delightful team; the young lady and Nicolas were incredible. We followed their recommendations, which turned out to be an excellent decision—from the red wine selection to the food choices. Nicolas took the time to explain the dishes and their ingredients. We started with the beetroot and croquettes. The beetroot with goat cheese was delicious; it wasn’t just simple beetroot—this one was marinated in cider. The croquettes were perfectly cooked, soft inside, and surprisingly even better than those in Spain. For the main courses, we had the hake and the pancetta. My wife, who loves fish, was impressed by the presentation; it was super fresh, and the combination of textures with the fish eggs was amazing. As for the pancetta, I have no words to describe it; you expect a certain taste and texture, but it was something else entirely—surprising in the best way. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. I’m still thinking about it two hours after the meal. For desserts, everything was delightful with just the right amount of sweetness. The rice pudding with dulce de leche and the crumble with lemon sorbet were perfect. Perhaps a hint of cinnamon in the rice pudding would have been a nice touch, as it’s such a traditional Spanish dessert, and we tend to expect that flavor. In a nutshell, we will be back and will bring our family soon. Great atmosphere, superb service, and incredible food presented at a level akin to Michelin-star cuisine.

Four of us dined here for lunch on Oct 15 and while portions were not overly large they certainly were sufficient if sharing some tapas, each having an entre, followed by dessert. Staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. All the dishes were delicious.

We stopped by in the late afternoon when the reduced menu was available. The burrata salad and anchovies were absolutely delightful. The local beer was fairly simple, and the Aperol Spritz could have used a bit more Aperol. The stunning ocean view from the terrace, however, was a major highlight.

It was our first time in Biarritz and we were absolutely delighted with the restaurant with its great view of the sea. We enjoyed lunch and dinner there and had a really delicious meal with a good selection of wine and great service. We were also allowed to bring our two French bulldogs to the restaurant, which is not something we take for granted, and they were also given a very friendly welcome. Thank you for your friendly service and we will be happy to come back.

Chez Eugénie was such a great find! The food was incredible (the Hake) and the service we received was perfect. We passed by and asked to reserve a table because online wasn’t possible. We easily got ourselves a place and enjoyed so many great option. White wine was great as well. If we return to Biarritz we’ll revisit <3

I and my family had lunch here and I totally fall in love with the mussel tartare. The place is beautiful and the location front ocean is breathtaking. Service perfect and great staff. The chef and menu proposal is very creative with strong product quality. Also the proposal of wine is nice. Great balance between price and offer. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Bravi!

Nestled in the heart of Biarritz, Carøe has been a beloved dining destination since its inception in 2016. This charming establishment is the brainchild of a Danish couple who envisioned a unique blend of restaurant and tapas bar. At Carøe, guests can indulge in an array of seasonal dishes that highlight fresh fish sourced from local boats around Saint Jean de Luz and shellfish harvested from the Atlantic coast up to Brittany.
We found this restaurant in the Michelin Guide, we can always rely on this and yet again, it did not let us down! Having had a few disappointing meals on our holiday, we were looking for a treat, and Carøe hit the spot! It has a lovely vibe and the waiting staff all looked like they were enjoying themselves, excellent service. We were lucky enough to get a table for this evening having made the reservation this morning- I would recommend booking well in advance as it is very popular, but there are tables outside so you may get lucky as a walk-in. The menus are in English as well as French which was really handy. Lots of choice, tapas style so served as it comes which we really enjoy. We had 5 plates between the 2 of us, I’m sure we could have ordered another one but that’s only because they are all so delicious and I had food envy seeing dishes come out that I hadn’t ordered! We did not leave hungry. It’s all such a good standard that I would say just order what you fancy, you won’t be disappointed. We both thought it was excellent value for money. We head home tomorrow, but if we were staying another night we would re-book, which is always a sign of a good restaurant. As for the low reviews for Carøe on here…I always look at a reviewer’s profile before deciding whether to take it into account or not. I’ll leave it at that. Also, it’s Tapas. If you don’t like small, refined, delicious plates of food served in the order that the chef recommends, I would look elsewhere. Thanks Team Carøe, we loved our dining experience!

Recommmend! One of the tastiest places we tried during our trip, though to be honest I didn’t expect that much in the beginning. I thought it would be a touristic place but au contraire my friend. Good natural wines (special mention for the sparkling “never mind the bulledog”). Some dishes were ok (the mushroom salad missed some flavour, plate was cold) but most were great (the clams with sabayon and the burnt leek with anchovies). Overall very tasty!
Olivia B — Google review
A friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. Everything we had was very good, simple but worked enough and with a little twist always. The cockels with a miso sabayon are a good example, so is the Kimchi pancake (spicy enough for people who love spice). A good kitchen preparing seasonal and local food with a smile and a very helpful staff.

Delicious, well thought out food. Amazing vibes. Impressive wine selection. Bit pricey but understandable for the quality provided. Don’t come here expecting big portions and cheap food.

Cool little niche spot just outside of town. Food is very fancy and requires a more sophisticated pallet to enjoy. Not my favorite but presentation and quality was great. Fish and chips option for kids
Mark H — Google review
4 stars just because of high expectations from newcomer in Michelin family… Everything was good: available reservations in Google, nice design, friendly English speaking staff, dishes were very creative and I enjoyed it much…. A lot of people, but kitchen was quick … i prefer my fork and knife are changed from dish to dish…. But it didn’t make cuisine not delicious. Desert was average. I can recommend to come to compare with others Michelin

Cute spot with sweet staff and delicious food. The photos are eggplant, carrots, anchovies, herring which was by far my favorite and another raw fish like tuna.

Jack The Cockerel is a popular dining spot offering both indoor and outdoor seating with a view of La Grande Plage. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a diverse menu at reasonable prices. The restaurant provides an electric atmosphere for food and beverages from 8 am to 2 am. While the service can be slow during peak hours, the cocktails are commendable.
It's not immediately clear how to get in; the entrance seems to be downwards. But inside, there's a lovely balcony with a view of the sea. The food is very tasty, with large portions. We were delighted. It's the perfect place for lunch or a drink. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) Very friendly welcome, easy to park, small terrace but on the side of the road. Daily special at €9.90. I only tried squids which looked more like large grilled squids, see photo, and which I found quite expensive for what they were (€20.50), but hey it wasn't possible. may not be the right choice that day, they have a fairly extensive menu.
