Le Bar Jean is a bustling spot in Biarritz known for its Spanish cuisine, including paella, seafood, tapas, and sangria. This restaurant has been an integral part of the city's culinary scene since the 1930s and is a popular choice for locals and visitors alike. The vibrant atmosphere extends well into the night, making it a great place to experience the lively tapas culture of Biarritz.
Great experience, we went for food for lunch and also for drinks in the evening and the staff was very friendly : Kylian and Octave especially. I recommend the duck. Great place for good vibes and a festive drink in the evening with music.

Service is nice and fast. The quality of food is good compared to the price. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but acceptable.
Pawinee J — Google review
Incredible meal, great ambience and vibe. We ordered the paella and some local specialties off the tapas menu. Our server, Julien, was super sweet and attentive. Highly recommend to those visiting Biarritz!
Marianna M — Google review
Had lunch here and food was just plain delicious. Atmosphere was great. Loads of staff on and they really seemed to be having fun. Came back for early dinner the next night because I really like the look of the mussels the people next to me at lunch had. Didn’t disappoint! Food is manifique. Staff were great. Highly recommend for people watching and excellent meals.

Fresh food market
Halles de Biarritz is a vibrant covered marketplace offering a variety of small shops selling seafood, cheese, charcuterie, and more. Visitors can indulge in the enticing array of produce and local delicacies while enjoying the friendly atmosphere created by the stall holders. The market is a popular spot for locals to pick up take-away plates of oysters and shellfish from LEcaillerie and savor them with a glass of white wine in the sunshine.
Gorgeous cheeses, meats, desserts, bread, fruit, veg, wine, fish etc...Courteous shop owners. All speak a bit or a lot of English. Went there every morning to pickup breakfast or snacks for the day's jaunts.
Jana O — Google review
Fantastic array of food to buy. Seafood hall brilliant. Really good place for a seafood platter and you can sit upstairs. But crazy busy on a Saturday. We went Friday and was pretty quiet. The picture is just what I had, as had a late breakfast in the hotel. But you can add anything you want, from oysters to lobster and everything in-between. Unreal, and very good value. Picture with a glass of wine was 14 euro
Richard H — Google review
Just must see. One of the best I visited. Not so big, but clean, compact, with great variety of all kind of food. In my opinion the place is better than one in Bayonna, one of the best I ever visited. Prices slightly higher than in "normal" shops (as usual), but the quality and variety of food justify this. Highly reccommended!
Marzena C — Google review
A typical market set over two halls where one is dedicated to seafood. There are arts and crafts and clothing stalls outside the entrance. There are many stalls, fling the markets with brand names, cafés, and clothing and souvenir shops. The area is lively and has a vibrant atmosphere. There are many options for the shopper and different types of food available.
G M — Google review
Les Halles de Biarritz is where you feel the city’s pulse—not through glossy tourism, but through real-time commerce, tradition, and taste. It’s a living, breathing mosaic of Basque culture. Don’t just taste it—inhale it. Gourmet charcuterie and cheese stands with the kind of aged, cured magic that can raise hairs on the back of your neck. A bakery counter that doesn’t just bake; it seduces you with the crust, the crumb, the promise of butter and morning. This place is a must visitv visit spot.

Wonderful Mercado with great range of products and also has opportunity to eat there...highly recommended

Excellent French Central Market. Butchers, bakers & fish mongers. Outside there are arts & clothing. We enjoy these markets an Biarritz's is a good small city central market.

Restaurant
Etxola Bibi is a laid-back open-air bar and restaurant that offers stunning sea views, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sunset over the Bay of Biscay. The casual atmosphere with wooden picnic tables and benches attracts a local crowd, especially surfers looking for post-surf drinks. The menu features refreshing salads, poke bowls, and cocktails, providing a relaxed dining experience by the ocean.
We didn't eat, drinks only so I can't comment on the food. We took a hike up there and stayed for a couple drinks. It's a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Unfortunately the night we were going to do that it was bucketing down rain so had to settle for a windy afternoon instead 🤣
Jana O — Google review
We love this place! It has the best view in Biarritz and the best vibe. It is a really cool place. You can sit outside by the car park and the staff will go to collect your glasses. It is the best spot to watch sunsets. People play petanque sometimes there too. Good vibe only.
Amandine J — Google review
We went there for a drink after dinner and it was packed! Great vibe wish it had a bit more music but the people were great and fast service for the amount of clients. Ordered a bottle of wine and shared it overlooking the water since tables were full.
Veronica B — Google review
Great place to enjoy some drinks with the sunset!
B. I — Google review
Great bar with a breathtaking view. A lot of people having drinks, chatting, observing sunsets or surfers. Beautiful spot for all.
Marzena C — Google review
Come for the location, you might wait a bit to get served but then have you seen the size of the sunset crowds? I’ve been coming here for three years now. The food is reliably good. It’s open from breakfast through till late. The drinks are solid, the staff are lovely and the view is world-beating. Sitting here facing the ocean is one of the best places on the planet where I’ve enjoyed a beer. It’s also one of the best places I’ve enjoyed a croque monsieur with my family, and for those two facts alone it gets five stars ❤️ They’ve also never objected to my terrible French and have stickers to grab for free on the bar.
John M — Google review
Good spot for breakfast and/or drinks. Xlnt cappuccino and chocolatine; Affligem draft, too. Great views of the ocean, and great walk/jog paths are adjacent (before or after enjoying a snack).
Anthony C — Google review
I had the salmon poke bowl. It did have salmon but not as much as I would have liked it to be. Also it wasn't a traditional poke bowl. Some of the usual things I'd like in a bowl weren't in there. A bit more rice would have also been better for the sake of being full afterwards. We asked for more soy sauce and got enough. The club sandwich was tasty but not enough. That is a common theme in this restaurant. The croque Monsieur was also not enough.

Casa Juan Pedro is a traditional seafood restaurant located in a small cove of the Port des Pecheurs, offering a variety of freshly cooked seafood dishes and a great view of the harbor and Atlantic. The restaurant's seafront terrace provides an ideal setting to enjoy grilled fish, seafood, and traditional desserts.
Fresh seafood right by the seaside, perfect. The shrimps and the octopus salad were really good. The grilled sardines and filet were good but would skip the mussels next time. Came on a Sunday and parking is very hard to find. Would suggest coming early to beat the crowds.
Arthur C — Google review
Amazing sea food. Great location, fresh sardines…. The best I have had throughout Europe. Fresh, simple, grilled yummies🤣. Octopus salad was absolutely amazing, fresh, tender…. Yummy. The garlic sauce for the mussels were amazing ingredients!!! And went so well with chips!
Paul G — Google review
Casa Juan Pedro. No tablecloths, no pretense, just the sea, a grill, and people who know exactly what the hell they’re doing. The king prawns? Charred just enough to taste like they crawled straight out of the ocean and into the fire. Oysters, cold, briny punches to the face. Squid so tender it practically apologized as you chewed. And the tuna tartare? Clean, sharp, alive. Like the ocean, diced. Washed it all down with Basque cider, funky, wild, beautiful. Like the region itself. Then a chocolate mousse that didn’t try too hard, because it didn’t need to. This is how it’s done. No bull, No ego. Just the kind of meal you remember when you’re staring down your last days, hoping you did something right.
Duncan — Google review
Excellent food! Great price-quality! The waiters are very busy but they don’t forget anything that you ask or request and also they’re so nice! We had the sardines, rabas and fries! Truly amazing food, really fresh and well-cooked! The location is very nice right near a small port.
Damian — Google review
Great priced, for being on the seaside, restaurant. Excellent shrimp and fish dishes with a bottle of rose. parfait!
Jay K — Google review
Very affordable, the best place to be on the sunny day. I craved for moules frites and I satisfied my craving here with a side order of grilled sardines. Would do it again any day.

We had a great lunch experience at Le Café du Commerce in Biarritz. The place was very busy when we arrived — we had to wait around 30 minutes for a table, but we didn’t mind at all since we really wanted to try it. The food was tasty and well-prepared, and the overall atmosphere was lively and authentic. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a very good experience and we’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in Biarritz!

My wife & I had a wonderful meal here sept 2025. We had the beef rib for 2. Wow it was cooked to perfection the meat was melt in the mouth delicious. We had the pleasure of being served by Edouard & Tom who both looked after us, serving us drinks until late. Thanks very much you guys we had a brilliant night.

Good cafe in main cafe strip area over from the markets. Service quick and friendly. Quick to resolve a small problem which was appreciated. Lovely staff
David B — Google review
Mixed experiences. We were here twice. Once for an afternoon nibble and drinks. The mixed meat/cheese board was perfect. The unusual cocktails I had were great too. Service good. Then one night we went for dinner. The menu was not grabbing me, so I went for the risotto special. It was ok. Not impressed that the waste vein was not removed from the prawns, when the WERE peeled. Difficult to do it yourself in the dish it was served in. If you eat it, it's sandy, dirty and not nice. Is this standard protocol in Biarritz? The sauteed calamari were very good 😊 The staff were attentive and helpful.
Jana O — Google review
Great meal by the window overlooking the crowds watching the rugby opposite. Waiter was Alexanda. I had the devlied eggs, mango tuna tartar, croquette assortment and burrata with artisan tomatoes. Half a bottle of Sancerre from the Loire valley to wash it all down. Excellent service, perfect location. And the menus reads very well. A 10 from me.
Chris D — Google review
This was the least friendly out of all our lunches and dinners in Biarritz. Nice stater to be fair, beef bourgonne was tough, friends fish was very good, as was wine, good value ✨️

Saturday night: got a spot quicker than expected with 4 people. Very kind and funny service. This restaurant definitely scores big on atmosphere - very cozy and cool. The green terrazzo floor is a pretty detail for those who care. Food is creative and good, nothing that blows you away.

Good. Animated atmosphere at night, it is located in a nice zone full with bars and people having a drink, it is called Les Halles. The market is in front. The food is good although some plates are expensive for what they are actually. The service is good. The bathroom has to be redone, the cues are very long and it is in front of the kitchen, not nice. The decorations are nice, Spanish themed, as the food.

Really good "tapas" restaurant, it's a mix of spain and France typical plates. You cannot book in advance, but it's worth it to wait a bit. They give free water in a house bottle. We have tried the pollo loco(really tasty!), the aubergine (delicious), plate of 2 cheeses, and pâtes (delicious), croquettes and the gâteau basque as dessert. We highly recommend the dessert! Super nice atmosphere! They have a shop where you can buy wine and other products.

So damn good! One of the best meals of our trip to France & Basque Country. Seated at a cute little table outside overlooking the water and port, we ate clams, mussels, octopus, and an awesome tomato salad, accompanied by delicious wine and a little espresso afterward. Great service and just a great vibe overall. Nice to be off the tourist strip and find this quiet little location in busy Biarritz. Highly recommend!!

What an amazing restaurant. Very informal but the staff go out of their way to make you welcome and provide a great service and experience. We sat by the large window which was open, you are right by the sea, a massive expanse of sea, cloud and sunset. A place to remember.

Laid back environment, Quick service, great views. and delicious food! Our favorite was the Pave Risotto. Kitchen closes at 1430 which is worth noting on Google Hours if possible. We arrived shortly before, but they warned us to order quickly before we were seated. A great experience!

Very nice food (fish and chips) and lovely wine. Pretty dismal service - left waiting to pay which is always a bad sign. But on the plus side not too touristy for July.

Booked at table at 14:15 coming from Bordeaux. We arrived at 14:30, (send an email that would be a bit late) with the restaurant almost empty. We were told that the kitchen was closed and could only order a salad. Very bad service and avoid at all times.

We arrived at Halles de Biarritz as it was closing at 2pm, so we decided to go next door to Chistera & Coquillages with its inviting outdoor tables. The cochon au lait and seafood paella are really good, paired with a glass of local white wine. Very cool and relaxing vibe.

Not our first time at Chistera & Coquillages — and as always, we had a great experience! The food is consistently high quality, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want when dining in Biarritz — lively but relaxed. We ordered several dishes and everything was spot on. Compared to London, the prices are definitely cheaper for the quality you get. Always a pleasure to come back here, highly recommend!

Beautiful & cozy! The food was delicious, our only downside was that there was no translation available for the menu, but we picked some random dishes & everything was SUPER tasty and presented beautifully

We went with 7 friends. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful decorated. The food is delicious. The service is good. The staff are very friendly. Only some of them seem unfriendly. 😅 But overall, all the staff are lovely. We can't speak French, but the person who served us she spoke English and provided excellent service. She were friendly and smiling. Every dish was delicious. The desserts were delicious, especially the cheese tart. However, the wait for the food and dessert was very long. The washroom is clean. There are 2 upstairs and downstairs.

2025 - visited again early Aug, totally disappointed by the declining quality of food and taste, particularly grilled Turbot, the restaurant replaced the whole fish by the fillet, I highly doubt it is pre-cooked, because no grilled flavors at all… 2024- I highly recommend ordering the grilled Turbot, ideal for sharing between two people. It's cooked to perfection, and the fish itself is incredibly fresh and delicious.

The place was extremely busy when we went, but service was timely and helpful. We ordered two tapas apiece, and all four were outstanding. Pate, shrimp, ham, but foie gras were all worth ordering again, if only we had had room. Portion sizes were on the larger side for tapas, and, given the quality, prices were very reasonable.

Bartenders Deborah and Jean were very nice. Our waiters, Lucas and Samuel were outstanding in addition to having an appreciation of American Football. Food was exceptional. I highly recommend this establishment.

Good enough restaurant for lunch. Nice pizza and good coffee. Asked us for additional tip on paying so yeah nah.
David B — Google review
The restaurant was very crowded at dinner time but staff did their best to serve quickly. Pizzas were just ok but linguine with meatballs were very bland. Tiramisu was too sweet for me and it lacked a coffee flavour.

Lively spot for a few drinks, we didn't eat he so can't really judge. Waiter took payment before we received out drinks which seemed a little different for Biarritz. Noisy spot are the main street with lots of buses rolling past, with tables very close to the road.

Dieter H — Google review
Food and service were excellent. After spending a day at the beach in Biarritz, we were looking for a very late lunch/early dinner. We were initially disappointed to learn that the menu was only pizza at the time we visited, but quickly changed or mind after seeing the options. The selection was unique and the actual food was amazing. Our group was intent on finishing the large personal pizzas until we saw the desserts delivered to the table next to us. We asked for boxes and took half the pizza home. The dessert options were great gelato style ice cream and amazing tiramisu, along other options, which were just what was needed on a warm summer day. Our easier was friendly and patient with our French. All in all a fantastic experience.

Haragia, which means "meat" in Basque, is a small restaurant located in Biarritz that offers a delightful selection of pinchos and grilled meats such as beef, pork, lamb, and duck. The menu features a variety of cuts including filet de boeuf, cassoulet, grilled sausages (chorizo), cotelette de veau, and travers de porc.
Favorite place we ate in Biarittz. Steak was incredible, perfectly seasoned and cooked, & the service was wonderful. I recommend reservations as it's a small restaurant, but we showed up at 21:15 and got a table at 22h. Panna cotta for dessert was also delicious. Merci!

Highly recommend if you are in Biarritz! Perfectly cooked steak, good selection of wine, friendly service. Place is small, so consider to reserve it in advance.
Anna — Google review
Being in Biarritz for holidays, we stumbled upon Haragia on Google Maps and was pleasantly surprised by this small hidden gem for true carnivores. The staff is incredibly friendly, the menu is efficient and straight to the point, all about high-quality meat. We started with the chorizo, followed by a perfectly cooked Côte de Galice, served with a refreshing salad and crisp homemade fries. Ended on a high note with a delicious lemon verrine for dessert. The wine list is excellent, offering great pairings. Overall, everything was fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced. Top-notch hospitality. Definitely recommend. PS : The restaurant is very tiny, they do two services so it’s better to book in advance. However, we walked in after 10pm and were immediately seated.

We live locally, and I don't know how we have missed out on this place for so long! The chef and server were great, and they really explained the different cuts of cote de boef they had to offer us. They were knowledgable about their wine list and set such a fun vibe in the little restaurant. The meat was perfectly cooked, the house fries were salty and crisp, and the salad was nice and fresh. The server heard me mention it was my husband's birthday and even put a little candle in our dessert, so thoughtful! Would recommend it to locals and travellers, especially if you want a local Pays Basque experience and great products.

Le Crabe Tambour, located at 49 Rue Espagne in Biarritz, is a renowned national cuisine restaurant. It is celebrated for its specialty dish of monkfish served with baked potatoes. Visitors have praised the amazing food and great service, highlighting dishes such as boeuf bourguignon and pear tart with whipped cream. The restaurant's proximity to hotels and positive reviews have attracted many satisfied customers who enjoyed the seafood plates and friendly, professional service.
We ate here 3 times during our stay in the area. We had different dishes each time we visited and all were well prepared and presented. Service can be a bit slow when busy, but good food takes time and it's well worth waiting for.

The food was absolutely delicious, traditional Basque cuisine full of rich flavors. The portions are big, so we shared one starter and each had a main dish. Even though we were super full, the food was so promising we just had to try a dessert too. The staff were incredibly friendly and always smiling, you really feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. I’d recommend to anyone visiting Biarritz who wants to enjoy traditional Basque food in a cozy, friendly atmosphere. PS: Even if you’re extremely full, order two crème brûlées. We ended up fighting over the last spoon!

I used to like this place.... Until today. We - gay couple - asked politely to be seated instead of just taking the free table with sea view. The waiter told us the seaside table was "reserved" (clearly a lie: there was no "reserved" sign and there were dirty glasses so people had just vacated the table) and put us at a table in the shade away from the view. Two minutes later a straight couple just strolled up, took the seaside table without asking and the waiter cleaned the table without remarks, gave them a menu and that was that. So we left - don't want to be treated like second rate citizens.....

Pavillon du Phare - Bar iodé is a popular spot in Biarritz, located near the lighthouse with stunning views of the bay. It's only open from April to November due to its outdoor terrace and weather dependency. While it's not a full restaurant, it offers great coffee, oysters, and snacks for lunch or hors d'oeuvres before dinner.

If you followed me you know that i almost never have a negative review on places. 55 years of my life it’s the first time a business staff shouts on me! My family arrive at the bar 5 of us from Vietnam. The table is free and has already 3 chairs. I pulled 2 other chairs and before i had time to sit a waiter shout from inside his bar saying that i can not put chairs on the grass. I said ok then started to move the chairs back to their place. The man run towards me and shout again. Maybe this waiter doesn’t like Asians or his business is too good so it’s his way to chase 5 customers.

Good afternoon, we visited this restaurant a few days ago with our family. The view was nice, but the food and service could be better. When asked about the ingredients of a dish, the waiter did not provide an answer. There was also a condescending attitude toward customers.

Café des Artistes Biarritz is a charming eatery with a vintage ambiance, located near the theater and park. The interior is adorned with cool vintage posters and art, creating a hip atmosphere. The seasonal menu offers familiar mains, salads, and delectable desserts. Diners rave about the delicious steak and moule frites, as well as the delightful baba rhum dessert where you can control the amount of rum to soak your cake with using a cute little bottle.
The most welcoming and lovely restaurant in Biarritz. A family-owned restaurant that aims to make each diners experience memorable. Excellent English for those afraid to fail at speaking French. Our server, the son of the owner, was extremely welcoming. Not only was he an amazing server but he taught us about the wonderful history of Basque Country and gave us tips where to go in the region. The food was exquisite! Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy I felt that each dish was created to perfection. I guarantee if I visit Biarritz again I will 100% come back here.

Super cute cafe across the street from the theatre and park. The design on the inside is even cuter than the street tables with cool vintage posters and art! Not to mention the food is amazing. Was so good in fact I came back the next day just for dessert!!!!!!

Payed 9€ for a coke and a glass of white wine which tashed bad and cheap. The short haired blonde server was very rude. Edit as response to the comment below: Because it's a rueda it's not cheap? Does not make sense. We went in and checked if there was a changing table, there wasn't. When we asked where to change the diaper, you said we only can do it in our baby stroller in a rude way. We were outside in the furthest corner, I dont even think any of the other guests saw it. A little empathy (torwards a 10 week old baby and her young parents) goes a long way... And btw there was no poop in her diaper 😉.

In Biarritz for only one night we selected this venue for our dinner. Welcome and overall service was friendly and professional Due to late reservation we could only sit in the lounge/ welcome area, which also turned out to be in high demand From the limited menu we selected the mackerel, the asparagus and a pork sandwich. All food served was delicious, well presented and served in a timely manner Definitely a place we will return....but then for the full menu Highly recommended to those after an intimate fine dining experience

Overall a very good experience. The servers were super nice and helped out with wine suggestions. The food was very good yet despite getting a seven course meal it felt that the portions were super small compared to the price that was being charged. Dinner started well but as the restaurant filled up you could tell the low staffed kitchen was struggling. We sat down for a total of 3 1/2 hours which is way to long. We couldn’t wait to get dessert so we could leave due to the time.

The tall sales assistant with short grey hair had an appalling attitude. I wanted to take some gifts for my parents - after waiting a long time to be served, the sales assistant ditched me for another client midway whilst packing my two tins and other assortments, so I walked out. As an entrepreneur and lawyer, I attainted the ability to understand my clients needs to win business and make sure the client is treated with the utmost respect. But she doesn’t, this is why she is just a sales assistant and will never aspire to anything greater. I ended up going to Maison Adam, their branding, assortments and customer experience was far better. Enjoy your job.

Chéri Bibi is a charming restaurant located in the friendly Bibi Beaurivage neighborhood. It serves delectable market cuisine that prominently features local products such as Getaria anchovies, Kintoa pork sausage, Baigorri trout, Mauleon veal chops, and artisan sheep cheese. The menu is creative and inspired, complemented by a selection of lively and natural wines.
It’s an absolute gem! I recommend it 100%. First of all, the chef sources everything locally, from the town and nearby farms, and makes everything himself—from fresh pasta to roasted almonds. The menu changes weekly, so it’s always something new and seasonal. It’s a bit like those “Chefs table” episodes on Netflix. The quality is top top, and the regional wine selection pairs perfectly. We went in January, and the place was packed with great energy and vibes. Honestly, it’s as good as some of the best restaurants in Paris or London. Highly recommend!

Chéri Bibi is, without a doubt, my favorite restaurant in Biarritz. Every single item on the menu reaches unthinkable levels of flavor, detail, and presentation. The freshness of the ingredients is absolutely next level, you can taste the care and seasonality in every bite. From the first plate to the last, there isn’t a single misstep; each dish feels like a small masterpiece. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Chéri Bibi is a rare gem, and for me, it’s the very best restaurant in Biarritz.

I was so positively surprised by Cheri Bibi. It’s not just cute, aesthetic vibes, it also delivers! While I was intimidated by how busy it looked every night (we didn’t have a reservation for the week we were visiting, oops), we got to the restaurant like 5 minutes before opening and were seated right away. The food was simple but delicious, and the experience getting to pop into the walk-in wine fridge was really fun. All of the natural wine we tried was great, and the standout dish we ate was the curried eggplant. I’m stiiiill thinking about it. Even though we got there right when it opened, we were never rushed by servers, and ended up spending almost 3 hours there! It was such a fun ambience we just ended up ordering more wine and snacks. Love love loved this spot and definitely going back next time we’re in Biarritz.

Food incredible. Staff lovely / understated / very kind. Vino - sublime. Foolishly did not make a booking but everywhere online raved about this place so wanted to see what the fuss was about. First night we missed out as there are minimum spaces for walk-ins. Went back on our second night just before doors opened and managed to get a table. Everything was lovely. Our waiter was super helpful/lovely. We chose wine from the cellar. All round wonderful experience. Place packs out so get there early if you don’t have a booking. Everything we ate was lovely but stand out dishes include the tuna, the aubergine/mussel thing and the basque cheesecake!
Kostas K — Google review
Nice cute restaurant in the Biarritz area with nice hip vibe to it. The food was really nice and well priced given the quality. The service is a bit slow. Reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because after eating our desert that we really enjoyed we decided to order a second portion when the waitress said ok but you'll have to eat it in a table outside because we need the table. I personally didn't find that professionally especially given the fact they were the ones coming late with the food to begin with so it was not fair to rush the guests outside for a another client who didn't even appear yet.

In a residential, non touristy area, Cheri Bibi serves both locals and tourists alike managing the evening with great professionalism. Every plate we ordered was delicious with sauces we wiped off the plates with bread. Bottled wine selection for reds was limited but we enjoyed the selection by the glass. A hipster atmosphere but plenty of families welcomed (and a toddler was quite happy eating in a lovely rattan baby chair). Reservations a must.

Lots of choice. Great quality. Quite pricy compared to food in English markets.

Excellent fruit and prepared food, though note this market is in a big busy noisy hall. It might not quite be what tourists expect a french (street) market to be like...

A good atmosphere and environment, but was disappointed to be charged €17 for a small portion of chicken at one of the market stalls. Daylight robbery!

This is the best place for fresh produce - even the fish. Now enlarged with a food hall that can satisfy all possible tastes. Try the arrabbiato at the Italian stand. Great. And good value.

Resort hotel
The Hôtel du Palais Biarritz - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is a luxurious retreat with a rich history dating back to the 1850s. Originally built for Empress Eugenie, it now stands as a lavish beach hotel offering opulent rooms, dining with stunning sea views, and a lavish spa. The palace has been restored to its imperial glamour and is now the heart of the resort that grew around it.
This was my third or fourth stay in the past decade, and I had forgotten just how luxurious the experience is. The rooms are beautifully appointed—especially the incredibly comfortable beds. The building itself is stunning, perfectly located right by the beach in the heart of Biarritz. The hotel’s amenities, including the outdoor pool and indoor spa, are top-notch.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel du Palais in mid-July. We had a lovely time. Dinner one night on the terrace, breakfast each morning, drinks by the pool, and room service for lunch one day. The hotel’s restaurants were very accommodating of allergies and the concierge even called up a restaurant on our behalf to confirm they could manage with our allergies. Staff was attentive and friendly. They tended to our room quickly each time we left, which exemplified the top notch service we received throughout our stay. Would highly recommend others make the trip to Biarritz just to stay in this hotel.

What a special experience. We had Brunch on Sunday and what a fantastic experience. We were greeted and served by a wonderful team and the food was outstanding. Carla, Romain, Amory and M Griffon were the members of staff we met but we could see that this was such a well run Restaurant!. If you want an out of World experience then I would highly recommend a Sunday here.

The Hotel du Palais is absolutely the best property I have ever stayed in! I had the joy of hosting my wedding for 150 people at the Hotel in July and it was absolutely incredible. The team at the Hotel is gracious and accommodating, and the rooms and views are spectacular. From the spa to the restaurants, you will find luxury everywhere you turn. I highly recommend the Hotel du Palais for a stay or an event- you will not be disappointed. Thank you for everything!

We passed by for a coffee and champagne to a have a business meeting with my partner (2 persons) around 12:30, Friday. We were refused to sit at the terrace with nice weather, been said it was full but it wasn’t. Ok. We sat inside in the bar. Bringing the menu took 20 min! Bringing champagne another 15. Champagne was very good, though. Waiter was nice to us but too long, we were not the only ones who were unhappy.

Fantastic location and exceptionally friendly staff. However, the room was somewhat disappointing, especially considering the rate of over €1,600 per night. I had booked a sea-view room—judge for yourself.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel du Palais!! If you're aiming for something you can only find in France, this is the place. The history of the palais alone is worth the visit. The views, grounds, and staff were all incredible. I had a cocktail at the bar (some sort of clarified take on a bloody mary) that was one of the most interesting and exciting I've had in France; I still think about it. When we visited a few years ago I ordered a dirty martini and they didn't know how to make it (they brought me a Vesper with an olive), so I was pleasantly surprised to have such a perfectly balanced and well crafted cocktail this time. The pools and access to the beach are fantastic and it's walking distance to many cool local shops and restaurants. My only real complaint is that there were not enough hooks to hang towels or wet items in the rooms. The closet is large but is carpeted which makes it a less than stellar spot for hanging a wet bathing suit/towel.

We spent 5 nights at this Hyatt branded hotel in June. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Location: The hotel is walking distance to the main sections of Biarritz. Property: The grounds are beautiful. Check-in/Reception: Our rooms were ready by check-in time. The process was smooth and easy. Staff: Everyone was very friendly and attentive to us. They tried very hard over my stay to make the Chromecast work in my room. Nesma and Emma were amazing. Rooms: We had 2 Deluxe Ocean Rooms and 1 Junior Suite City View. The rooms were nice but they are all somewhat different so it's hard to know what you will get. The Jr. Suite is above the Deluxe room, yet the Deluxe bathroom was much larger the the Jr. bathrooms and included bathtubs. The shower was small and felt like a plastic inset so easy to slip when soap was on the floor. The room stayed cool despite the summer heat, but the blackout shades let in a lot of light so it was hard to sleep after sunrise. Food/Room Service: The food at the hotel was all good. We ate in the restaurant and bar a couple times during our stay. We had breakfast delivered to the room and it arrived quick and hot. Pool: They have a large pool overlooking the ocean which is lovely and surrounded on one side by many cabanas. The cabanas are nice with their own private bathrooms. The only issue is they get very hot with no air circulating in them so fans would make a big difference. The pool is also extremely warm and felt closer to a hot tub. They have an ice cream shop on property near the pool which the kids loved. Spa/Gym: They have a gym and a spa but I didn't visit them on this trip. We would stay here again on another trip.

Le Bistrot des Halles is a laid-back cafe offering Spanish and French cuisine, with options like seafood, foie gras, and Euskal burgers. The bistro has a cozy setting with wooden tables and vintage adverts on the walls. It's located in the small cove of Port des Pecheurs in Biarritz, surrounded by charming crampottes and beautiful terraces overlooking the port and boats.
Best meal of 24 we ate in France. Staff is incredible and very nice. Made us feel at home. Ambience sitting inside or outside is great and the food is truly spectacular. 100 out of 100 recommend we came back 3 nights in a row the place was so dialed in. Best place in Biarritz my taxi driver told me it’s where all the locals eat and after my first meal it all made sense.
Mark H — Google review
We selected this restaurant specifically because of the latest two reviews and the score on Google. We found that none of this is true. The taste and quality is below average. The lamb tasted ok, but was just bones and fat! The duck was dry and the fries were soggy and tasteless ! The small portion of vegetables was ok. What disturbed us the most that the kitchen was not busy and the cooks were taking smoking breaks right in front of our table… so was the waitress. Something I have not seen at any restaurant previously. It was a waste of our evening and I recommend that you avoid this joint. Having said this the wine was good and it was recommended by the manager or owner.
Hamedkie Z — Google review
We came for dinner and as soon as we asked for a table the first waiter that approached us was rude - he made a gesture that meant “wait” and didn’t say a word. He passed by us back and forward many many times without saying a word and after some long wait (even though they had plenty of free tables on the inside), a waitress came to lead us to the table without saying much or being sympathetic. We ordered the entrecôte and the codfish. Both plates were ok but not great as some of the reviews made us think. The fries were a bit soggy, we asked for the meat to be cooked rare and it was medium-well. The cod was a bit cold and lacked a bit of salt. Overall the food was ok but not worth more than 3 stars. The only really positive aspect of it is that the portions are quite big. The service was awful and we could feel the difference between serving foreigners and French people - it’s not ok. They ignored us many times, were not paying attention to the different tables, were not pleasant or nice. Would not recommend this place.
Sofia S — Google review
The food was good but the service really not welcoming! It is sad that when you are a foreigner that you get treated in a different way, French people are welcomed with a smile and when I paid, I said good evening, thank you and I didn’t even receive a look or a goodbye back. I was sat at the bar and was told the restaurant is full, meanwhile a few minutes later another person came also without reservation and got a proper table to sit at. A dinner is about having a comfortable and welcoming evening alone or in a group and not only about the food. I hope you will rethink a bit how you treat foreigners and how you would like to be treated in a restaurant when you visit a foreign country.
Luca W — Google review
Wonderful spot for dinner, highly recommend. We had the tomates burrata, confit du canard, gambas risotto and the dessert special all were delicious. The best meal we had all vacation!

We stumbled into it and realized it’s many accolades later. The service is wonderful, very friendly for families and kids. I hate eating burgers in France, but they have the best burger I have tried EVER. You can tell the meat is high quality and hand chopped. I just had to try it when my daughter claimed for it to be the best burger ever.

This is a terrific bistro. The baked egg with parmesan & bread and foie grass with toast was unbelievable. The tuna tart.was almost as good. I would have never thought of putting scallops and sweetbreads together, but I truly loved the Scallop Tournados and Sweetbreads over mashed potatoes.

Hôtel Villa KOEGUI Biarritz is a 4-star hotel situated in the heart of Biarritz, just a short stroll from the beach and local market. The rooms are well-equipped with thoughtful amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and small touches like a cooler, tea, coffee, and more. Guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options. The hotel is pet-friendly and provides welcoming accommodations for dogs including bowls and mats.
A cute and clean and small hotel (I think 15 rooms) on a quiet side street but still centrally located. Many things are just a minute or two walk away. The staff were friendly and during check-in explained how breakfast worked and if I wanted something in particular, she even gave me a map of the town with some places marked for me. I had a room at the back which was very quiet, clean, with a big comfortable bed. I slept very well. Highly recommend.
Sam K — Google review
Great, central location and the staff are really nice. Unfortunately I have to mark this place down because of the total lack of soundproofing in the property as I see someone else has mentioned. If people are in the room above you, you can hear everything. Footsteps sound like loud stomping and unfortunately for us we had people both nights who were up stomping around the room, dropping thigs on the floor until 1-2am so it was impossible to sleep until they had gone to bed. We banged on the ceiling several times but they ignored us, and because there are no staff at this hotel past 6.30pm, there is no one to help you out. The staff were really sympathetic about it and tried to move us but there is no point unless you're on the top floor as every other room has that potential issue. As a 4* hotel i'd 100% expect to be able to get a good night sleep, this really needs to be addressed.

Villa Koegui 1. Reparation and construction in the neighbor building. Dust, early noise and paint smell in the rooms closest to that neighbor building. There are rooms with windows to the other side (where there is no reparation and painting works), but they are occupied and you don’t know that you need to “fight for them”. 2. Hot water problem. It is necessary to wait for about 15 minutes to have the water temperature normal. Initially it is almost boiling no matter which side to turn the bottom. 3. Lift noise. Room neighboring to lift (and there are absolutely no lift halls at the upper floors) is offered at the same price as others. All the people using the lift are standing right behind your door (which is close to your bed) and you hear them talking, walking, using the lift right from your pillow. 4. Management. Since the first minutes of our stay in the room the closeness of neighbor renovation and the lift were clear. The receptionist told that she can’t change the room the same day, and if the next day the room will be available, she suggested us “to talk about it again”. After the complaint about hot water problem it was advised to “use the tape bottom properly”. And it was promised to send someone later to “check it”. The prices for this hotel during the period of neighbor reparation are comparable to the prices of other hotels of the same category without these problems. There is no need to stay sleepless, poisoned with paint smell and to have your mood spoiled during your summer holidays. Life is short ;)

Based on my experience, I am perplexed at how this is the #5 hotel in Biarritz with Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence. We arrived for a two-night stay around 10 pm just before the front desk clerk was packing up to leave. She had a packet ready to go with our room keys, coupons with WiFi passwords for two devices and a letter apologizing for the broken air conditioning in our room. Less than great, but willing to overlook it since it was late and we were tired from a long day of driving and sightseeing. Our 12-hour stay in the room was dreadful. First, the air conditioning, while cooling the room, gave off a strong ammonia/cat urine smell. Google this and you will find it is a common symptom of poorly maintained and heavily used air conditioning and exposure to it is unhealthy. Unfortunately, sleeping with the windows open meant inhaling the secondhand cigarette smoke of guests down in the hotel garden below our window. Second, the WiFi was much slower than the 2G internet on our cell phones. This is absurd in a relatively developed city to offer guests such slow internet access and to be so stingy on how many devices we were allowed to use it with. We were only given 2 passcodes for 2 devices, despite my wife and I having at least 5 devices between us needing connectivity. Third, the room was very dirty. The floors had clearly not been swept or mopped in quite some time and there were loose floor boards. The bathroom vent in the shower was caked in thick layers of dust and grime. The TV remote (for what at most was a 20" screen) was black with fingerprints and grease. Fourth, unlike every other 4- and 5-star hotel we stayed at during our 3 week tour of France and Spain, this one has no staff available overnight. Finally, when we decided we could not spend another night in the hotel and asked the general manager for a refund of our second night she told us she wouldn’t do that and that my complaints were lies. Avoid this hotel at all costs unless you like paying $350/night for a flophouse bed.

Visitors can enjoy healthy options like Acai Bowls and smoothies, as well as treats like charcoal bliss balls and vegan banana bread. The staff is known for their friendliness and willingness to create custom smoothies.
Second time coming here and never got disappointed. One of the best available bowls I’ve had in this area with lots of toppings. The banana bread is really good as well, and the vegan hot dog was a 10/10 - enjoyed all the food and def need to come back to try their other dishes as well. Love that almost everything is vegan, big plus!! Not easy to find in this area of France. They are also pet friendly, so we could bring our dog :)

The place and the presentation of the food was great, but the taste wasn’t there. We ordered the Poke Bowls. They were out of tofu which was ok because we got some pea protein instead. But, the bowls were mostly just rice. Very little of the things you actually want. And the avocado was brown and tasted disgusting. Didn’t understand why they served that to us. More of the good stuff + good avocado and it would have been a 5-star from me.

Apparently this place also sells cheese but mostly it's a cheese restaurant. It sells cheese platters, usually four cheeses paired with wine. There are three platters: soft cheeses, medium cheeses and strong cheeses. Because of the wine pairings, I think sharing a platter would be difficult. There is an option to put your own platter together, and a dessert menu that is mostly not cheese. Well worth a visit for lovers of cheese and wine.

We didn't have reservation but the waitress was kind enough to find us a spot. She understood both English and Spanish as well which is a plus. Every plate we had was made with good and fresh ingredients.I surely recommend having the Chef's suggestion as a main course. The only but I have was the long waiting period between the starters and the main course, which went beyond 30 minutes.

Everything was really good. Good service. Good meat. Good cheeses. The only thing that bothered us was that they pushed a paid bottle of water without asking us. Reviews fooled me big time! We came to the restaurant for Sunday lunch and seeing 4.5 star review on Google expected a lot. 28euro menu price seemed quite high, but fine for good food. Well, food was anything but good. We ordered a crab soup (tasted like the prawn paste, one spoonful was more than enough), oeuf cocotte (was okay-ish, but for 7.90€ expected much better), and another person wanted a salad - we were offered chipirones as it was supposed to have vegetables. As vegetables it had a piece of pepper and 2 salad leaves, it is upsetting that a fairly expensive restaurant is not very accomodating as to offer any salad as a starter. For the main, we had scallops with vegetable mousse. Well, scallops were indeed well cooked, but the mousse was too heavy and sour, and mushroom sauce was overly sweet. For 17.90€ a plate it was a total rip off. Then we tried a duck breast, again, protein was well cooked but the sides not impressive. Entrecote was cooked well and very well sized and since it had no sauce, was not ruined. Last one was filet mignon of pork. That one was returned untouched - sauce managed to beat the expectations - overly sweet and bland at the same time. Ruined the taste of whatever else was on the plate. Happy about only 1 thing - we decided to forgo desserts. Mediocre food for quite a price tag - will not come back.
Roberto S — Google review
Service on a slow side. Ordered menus from which starters and dessertes were ok. Main foods: entrecote and duck breast were bad. Entrecote meat was some left-over mostly fat and non meat tissue. One side fried medium rare and another left rare with grey surface. Duck breast had none of the fat fried - only warmed up. Beef knife strugled badly on both beef and duck.

Restaurant: Surprisingly good! I expected mediocre food (great location, so thought it would get lots of passing by visitors, and thus not needing to make effort). But wow was I wrong! Worst hotel I’ve had in a long time! The room smells like an ashtray. Although the view is nice, it’s over looking the restaurant terrace, so it’s really noisy, with awful music in the early evening , and loud conversations late at night. The fire doors slam so loudly my room shakes every time someone passes. The floors are so thin I hear all my neighbours moves! There is black mold around the shower. And when you run the tap in the sink for 30 seconds, the sink backs up! The night stand is so big, you can’t open the wardrobe! Just praying I can get a refund !!

Superb location, excellent rooftop bar with the best music and a great view of the little beach. Surrounded by the old port town streets. Be aware, nearsest free car parking is a 20 minute walk away. The lack of personal attention and engagement from staff (although polite) made it feel more like a hostel than an hotel.

Hotel: the room is not very big, and it smelled a lot like a cleaning product, the terrace is very good, but if you are in the 1st floor you don't get any view because of the bar's umbrellas. The furniture of the terrace could be painted and renovated. Restaurant/bar: VERY GOOD!! The food is great, the staff is super nice and friendly and the sunset is amazing! Do a reservation in advance.

Well.... The "one star" is more about a combination of unprofessional service, quite high prices, and poor food quality. And don't "fresh fish from the morning market" me. What a lovely evening at El Callejon. We were the first people in at 19.00 but warmly welcomed by the team and shown to our table. Clearly a busy night ahead as every table was reserved. We ordered a selection of Pinxtos to start - confit duck, jambon croquettes and anchovies. All delightful. The Gigondas red wine was also delightful. Main course - we opted to share the milk fed lamb for two - wow!!! Absolutely amazing and the highlight of this trip. Absolutely recommend. Succulent, tender, crisp on the top - just as it should be. A little salt on the accompanying beans added a high amount. We even stretched to deserts - Crème Brûlée and the Rice Pudding with Apricots. All wonderful. The final “l’addition” was very reasonable for the evening and food we’d had. Would definitely go here again. Busy place but all well managed by friendly, efficient and welcoming staff. Great experience.

Totally hardcore about their dress code. If you put on a tuxedo but your shoes show your toes kiss your reservation goodbye. They care more about the dress code then running a successful business. Food was hit and miss my veal ravioli and the tiger dish amazing the steaks are just ok at best. Good atmosphere and cozy

Place is definitely overpriced. Food was bland, the toast in some dishes I couldn’t even chew it as it was super hard (as in stale, actually). On top of it all, the following morning both me and my friend are… feeling it. In a bad way.

Great really liked this place. Food was great, my advice is go for the mussels as a starter, they're great. Staff are really helpful and patient with non French speakers.

Had an absolutely beautiful night here, bloody delicious meal. Everything my partner and I had on the menu was amazing. We were cattered for by the staff very well too feeling very welcome and all we asked for tended to. I've been to quite a few expensive and good quality restaurants for dinner in France now including Bordeaux, Paris and Biarritz and this is my favorite so far, plus it wasn't expensive as most others too. Cocktails are also seriously good. Can't recommend this one enough

Café de la Grande Plage is a charming spot located in the heart of Biarritz, offering stunning views of the ocean. It serves as an ideal venue for hosting wedding receptions with its beautiful terrace and spacious interior featuring large bay windows. Situated on Place Sainte-Eugenie, this restaurant provides a tranquil setting and convenient parking underneath the establishment.
Great food with the most amazing view of the ocean and atmosphere at night. However it was incredibly expensive (€45 each) for the service we received (waiters didn’t take time to explain things to us, always in a rush, didn’t want to pack our food to-go at the end of the meal)

Terrible atmosphere, bald server didn’t come to the table for 20 min, pigeons were nibbling at the bread counter in which the bread was then served to us. No attention. No respect. Aggressive server. Ignored me when I asked if it was the same bread as the pigeons gave (I didn’t eat it) then kicked the pigeon aggressively right next to our table. Overall bad experience with no service.

The worst Caesar salad I've ever had in my life: fried chicken (that was actually fried bread), lots of mayonnaise, so salty and acid!! The only good thing about this place it's the view! And a smiley waitress that was trying to make up for the terrible food.

Le Clos Basque is a renowned restaurant offering authentic Basque cuisine with a rustic atmosphere and high-quality regional ingredients. The menu features traditional and modern dishes, showcasing intense flavors and local specialties. Whether dining on the vine-covered terrace or in the cozy interior, guests can savor well-crafted French and Basque dishes that may include classics like rich hare stew.
Before I get started, this restaurant is still signed and known as Le Clos Basque, but for the last 3 months is under new ownership and is now a French Japanese fusion restaurant actually called "Yume". The menu is short, but the food is superbly crafted by a Japanese chef from Osaka. Ahead of time I requested vegan or vegetarian dishes if possible. The chef prepared a completely vegan meal for me. The presentation and flavors were exceptional. My two companion dinners ate a la carte from the regular menu and we equally impressed with their meals. The restaurant also offers an excellent wine list. Note that the accompanying photos are of the dishes enjoyed by all the of us.

Food was good, but not Michelin level. Well priced (both wine and food). Starter very salty (crab/salmon), main lovely (one of us had fish, the other pork), desserts very basic. I believe this is one of the more long-standing restaurants in Biarritz. Doubt it would get a Michelin star if it came around today. Because of its price and friendly service I still think it is a nice place to go to. Older clientele, fully covered outdoor seating

Nestled in the charming city of Biarritz, Le O2 Verdun offers a delightful dining experience that combines a serene atmosphere with delectable cuisine. The restaurant features a calming Zen decor, creating an inviting space for guests to unwind. While it may not be perfectly located, its proximity to the city center makes it accessible. Patrons can indulge in exquisite dishes like gravlax de truite and chipirons grilled with sweet Anglet peppers, complemented by a rich tiramisu for dessert.
Le O2 Verdun in Biarritz offers a cozy atmosphere with friendly, fast service that makes dining a pleasure. From start to finish, each dish was a delight. We began with bonbon croustillant au serano and foie gras mi-cuit maison, both starters packed with flavor and beautifully presented. For mains, the morue rôtie (roasted cod) was perfectly cooked—tender and fresh. The brochettes de gambas with risotto were equally delicious, with creamy, well-seasoned risotto that complemented the succulent prawns. For dessert, we tried the refreshing ananas avec sorbet and a rich fondant au chocolat—both perfect sweet finales. During the dinner time, we saw many walk-in diners were declined as the resto was fully booked though it’s in low season. Thus highly recommended to make a booking to secure your table. For us booking was a breeze via The Fork app, which is convenient and user-friendly. All in all, Le O2 Verdun is highly recommended for a delightful dining experience in Biarritz!

Wonderful experience! If you go to Biarritz, do not miss le O2 Verdun!!! The food was absolutely delicious, every dish. The quality is very good especially looking at the prices. All the entree’s are 8 euros, the main dishes 16,50 and the desserts 8 euros. This was the best dinner in Biarritz by far while we ate at much more expensive places. However, the gamba risotto was a little strange as it wasn’t risotto rice used but orzo rice. This made it a little more slimey. However, the poulpe and the bonbons croustillants Serrano-brebis were very good! The tong and the coquilles are also recommended.

Such an unexpectedly lovely restaurant. I went for convenience and found quality 🤩! It was near my hotel, Hotel au Bon Coin, and they recommended it. It's not in the main restaurant area of Biarritz and perhaps that's the very reason they took so much care to present the meal beautifully and provide such flavoursome food. (In my case, octopus followed by prawns.abd tiramisu.) Quiet, and beautifully breezy in both temperature and style. P S. It was empty when I arrived, but filled up quickly, so a reservation might be wise.

La Tantina de Burgos is a local, unpretentious and friendly basque restaurant in Burgos. The food is simple but delicious with ingredients from the Basque region, and the service is excellent. The restaurant is well worth a visit if you're looking for something different and interesting to eat in Burgos.
Really good place to eat. We went here for a dinner and I can’t express how good food was! everything was sooooo delicious. Anchovies and croquettes are my favorite Highly recommended if you around but try to make reservations, because once it’s open it’s full in 2 min after Service was of course with French attitude but I just have to accept it because I’m in France

This review is quite late. My lady and I were discussing our favourite meals of all time, and landed on La Tantina de Burgos as our favourite in all of our travels. I am no expert, but we got our first real taste of Basque spices and flavours here and will never forget it. Every dish was great. I loved the seafood plates, and my lady still says it was the best roast chicken she's ever had. Just a special place.

A bit out of the way, but a perfectly decent lunch option when in the neighborhood. Considering the distance from the centre, it's not cheap. Also, the patio is fairly noisy due to the constant traffic in the roundabout right next to it.

I suggest this restaurant if you want French Basque meals. They serve excellent food; for starters, we ordered the "Anchois", and ordered the “Boudin Grillé” with mashed potatoes as main dish (see photos). Situated near the city center, this modern bistro exudes an authentic and elegant ambiance, complemented by its passionate owners and friendly staff.
These are the restaurants you love France for: simple creative cuisine with great product quality. We didn’t plan to eat it a lot but ended up eating appetizer, main and dessert. Atmosphere is better inside than outside I feel - outside lacks the coziness. Super friendly and funny service. Food was great product quality and had creative combinations. E.g. marinated raw tuna with passion fruit sauce and fennel salad. The dishes could have been even more refined but for this setting and price point it’s fair.

Great quality, good price! We had three course and all dishes were excellent. I loved beef tartare in particular.

So far the worst meal in Biarritz. Very surprising they made it on the Michelin guide considering how many excellent restaurants in the area. Meat was very chewy the way overcooked. The tuna dish came with a burnt falafel that is impossible to eat. Service was forgettable as the two ladies never smiled and always looked stressed.

My wife and I stayed one night at Le Café de Paris Hotel in Biarritz and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay, which made us feel warmly welcomed. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Biarritz with beautiful views and everything within walking distance. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained, adding to the overall charm of the stay. Breakfast was good, though the variety could have been a bit broader. That said, the quality of what was offered was satisfying. We definitely plan to come back on our next visit to Biarritz!

Fast food restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Biarritz, Carøe has been a beloved dining destination since its inception in 2016. This charming establishment is the brainchild of a Danish couple who envisioned a unique blend of restaurant and tapas bar. At Carøe, guests can indulge in an array of seasonal dishes that highlight fresh fish sourced from local boats around Saint Jean de Luz and shellfish harvested from the Atlantic coast up to Brittany.
We found this restaurant in the Michelin Guide, we can always rely on this and yet again, it did not let us down! Having had a few disappointing meals on our holiday, we were looking for a treat, and Carøe hit the spot! It has a lovely vibe and the waiting staff all looked like they were enjoying themselves, excellent service. We were lucky enough to get a table for this evening having made the reservation this morning- I would recommend booking well in advance as it is very popular, but there are tables outside so you may get lucky as a walk-in. The menus are in English as well as French which was really handy. Lots of choice, tapas style so served as it comes which we really enjoy. We had 5 plates between the 2 of us, I’m sure we could have ordered another one but that’s only because they are all so delicious and I had food envy seeing dishes come out that I hadn’t ordered! We did not leave hungry. It’s all such a good standard that I would say just order what you fancy, you won’t be disappointed. We both thought it was excellent value for money. We head home tomorrow, but if we were staying another night we would re-book, which is always a sign of a good restaurant. As for the low reviews for Carøe on here…I always look at a reviewer’s profile before deciding whether to take it into account or not. I’ll leave it at that. Also, it’s Tapas. If you don’t like small, refined, delicious plates of food served in the order that the chef recommends, I would look elsewhere. Thanks Team Carøe, we loved our dining experience!

Recommmend! One of the tastiest places we tried during our trip, though to be honest I didn’t expect that much in the beginning. I thought it would be a touristic place but au contraire my friend. Good natural wines (special mention for the sparkling “never mind the bulledog”). Some dishes were ok (the mushroom salad missed some flavour, plate was cold) but most were great (the clams with sabayon and the burnt leek with anchovies). Overall very tasty!
Olivia B — Google review
A friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. Everything we had was very good, simple but worked enough and with a little twist always. The cockels with a miso sabayon are a good example, so is the Kimchi pancake (spicy enough for people who love spice). A good kitchen preparing seasonal and local food with a smile and a very helpful staff.

4 stars just because of high expectations from newcomer in Michelin family… Everything was good: available reservations in Google, nice design, friendly English speaking staff, dishes were very creative and I enjoyed it much…. A lot of people, but kitchen was quick … i prefer my fork and knife are changed from dish to dish…. But it didn’t make cuisine not delicious. Desert was average. I can recommend to come to compare with others Michelin

Great location on La Grande Plage beach in Biarritz, set higher up of the promenade giving better views of the sea than Cafe Dodin further along the beach. Since the pandemic there is no longer a menu brought to the table, there is a QR code on each table to scan however they still take the orders in person. They now open from around 9am and let you stay to watch the sunset however start removing the tables close to dusk. Note it’s a much reduced food menu than before.

Just been shouted at for asking for the bill for the 4th time, they told me it’s acceptable to ask up to 7 before getting a response. First argumentative confrontation my 10yo daughter has ever witnessed. Won’t be going back, shame it was a regular place for us to have breakfast and lunch.

Nestled above the Musee de la Mer, Olatua Biarritz is a contemporary restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience with stunning ocean vistas. This charming spot not only offers delicious sharing boards and bowls of Basque tapas but also features a lovely terrace where families can relax while children play nearby. The panoramic views include the iconic Rocher de la Vierge, making it an ideal location for sunset meals or leisurely lunches.
We arrived at 7pm and were put on a waiting list for the rooftop, you leave your phone number and can get a drink at the downstairs bar. We were called at 8:15pm, Just in time to have some food before the sunset. It is a beautiful spot for the sunset, felt very special. Service was quick. The music is 80s/90s vibe rather than beach club. Once the sun sets it gets a little chilly, so take a jumper!

Bit hard to find! Just folllow the signs to the aquarium boutique shop, which will be up a few flights of stairs. Take your time but push through since the view is def worth it! The customer service at the restaurant is amazing! The food is very fresh and clean. Perfect for the view overlooking the water with the waves crashing in the background. Great place to also have a conversation as well, not too loud and just the right amount. Attached is a picture of the tuna tataki which was 20euros

Epic views from what must be one of the best spots in Biarritz. Friendly staff, nice cocktails, and interesting sharing plates meant we had a great couple of hours here. Very highly recommended and looking forward to returning soon. Best croque monsieur I ever had (truffled) Check it out!

The food was great, maybe a bit too pricey, but worth going. The service personnel was very nice, we arrived when the place was full, but we could wait at the bar downstairs and got a call from them when there was a free table. Nice atmosphere and great view on the ocean. I had a Mediterranean sour, croquettes and hummus, and everything was served on time and tasted very well. Highly recommended.

We first ended up at the one below where we had the nicest barman with the friendliest service, had a few drinks and enjoyed the beautiful view. We realised they also have a restaurant on the roof and the bar man advised us to check it out. We first tried to get into the restaurant with our drinks from downstairs, that didn't work 🤣 after we have finished our drinks we managed to get inside and found a nice table with another great view. The restaurant only serves food from 19:00 so we opted for a few drinks before we could order food. 19:00 arrived but the waiter never arrived again. When we were tired of waiting we were ready to get up and leave, the waiter suddenly appeared. We ordered, food was delicious which made up for the poor service. Shortly after we finished our food we paid the bill and left. If you are willing to wait for food then this place is definitely recommended. The cocktails must try of course.
Stephan G — Google review
FYI there is a rooftop (restaurant) and a bar that is underneath it. The rooftop was closed due to rain earlier that day so only the bar was open. It was standard charcuterie only stuff that was fairly average and pricey drinks. The sausage was meh, smoked salmon was decent, and the tuna pate was good.

Nestled along the iconic Côte des Basques, Le Carlos is a delightful spot that captures the essence of Biarritz's vibrant surf culture. While it may not be directly on the sand, its breathtaking views and lively atmosphere make it a must-visit destination. The menu is a culinary journey featuring homemade guacamole paired with crispy tortillas, refreshing poke bowls, succulent tuna tatakis, and delectable Iberian charcuterie.
Can’t beat this location & the views! Was recommended by a local French friend, and we’re happy we went! We had to walk down this hillside path and Carlos was on the frontage road, directly overlooking the water. It’s an open air restaurant so the entire “wall” is open. All the indoor and outdoor seating looks out at the ocean where you can watch the waves and surfers. It wasn’t busy at all at 1pm on a Tuesday. Staff were okay, spoke enough English to communicate well. The food was also delectable - giant salads, tasty stuffed pasta shells, and a yummy steak frites. We also enjoyed Aperol Spritz and French Margarita cocktails. Would recommend and go back just for the views!

If you're in the mood for pizza, Pizza Cosy is definitely the place to go. They've got a wide variety of toppings and sauce to choose from, so you're sure to find something that's perfect for your taste. Plus, their prices are very reasonable.
We got two takeaway pizzas while staying in the area. Ordering online was easy, and the pizzas were ready on time. The standout was the one with spicy chorizo and a base of sweet potato/pumpkin cream. Very savory and delicious!

The pizza is very fresh, well made and was topped with good quality ingredients. I ordered the truffle pizza and I expected the pizza to have much more truffle flavour, so I was a bit disappointed in this. The bolognese pizza was very good. Furthermore, we were told that our order would arrive at 21.30, but it was 20 minutes late. Altogether, we waited nearly 2 hours since we placed the order. We understand the difficult times at the moment and that there may be more deliveries than usual, but the pizzas were a bit cold when they arrived. I would recommend this restaurant, but be cautious with the delivery service.

We stayed only two nights at the St Julien in Biarritz and it was superb. The most cloud comfortable beds, beautiful hotel and absolutely gorgeous, hospitable staff. I enjoyed my stay immensely. Breakfast was delightful and we loved the intimate garden setting to enjoy an afternoon drink and snack after a big day touring the town. Central to all our needs and just far enough out of the main areas to be peaceful. Exceptional in all respects. Merci

Charming hotel with a cute garden and newly renovated common areas. Everything is within easy walking distance. The rooms are a bit small, but it doesn’t detract from the experience. Ideal for a couple of days in Biarritz to soak up the city and the beach. The staff is super friendly! I loved that they were proving guests with beach baskets, yoga mats and water bottles for the stay. Little things like these make such a huge differnce :)

A wonderful hotel located within easy walking distance (4 to 5 min's) to restaurants and shops. We only wish we had a longer stay. The rooms are delightful. For those concerned with practicalities, there is a lift; the staircase is wide; staff speak English very well, were very tolerant of my clumsy French, helpful for information, maps and recommendations; the room had an air conditioner (a rarity in Europe); there is, however, no small refrigerator, which was no great hardship. Loved the welcome note. 🍷🇫🇷

Quiet little inn that is great for a few days r n r. We loved the decor very French n homey The city is clean and very walkable. There was a mixup between ctrip n the hotel resulting in a street level room without the jacuzzi bath n ocean view that we booked. The shower pan is above the floor and the floor was wet when we got done. We enjoyed the nightcap at the bar/restaurant onsite first time there was no smoker around us

Nice hotel, good central location, very friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked eggs (made however you’d like them) alongside croissants, pan au chocolat, bread, jam, hams and a couple of different cheeses. Also coffee/hot chocolate and different juices. Croissants or pan au chocolat were available throughout the day in the foyer too which was another nice touch. We paid extra and parked in the on site car park (€20/night), which was very useful.

We had a great experience staying at Hotel Saint Julien. We were privileged to try out a newly designed room, which looks amazing. We love the new design because it was easy in the eye and contemporary as opposed to what you would normally find in a typical coastal french hotel. The bed was super comfortable with crisp and clean sheets. The custom sofa was beautiful to look at but also very comfortable to sit in. The room amenities was luxuriously local. Beyond the room, the service was the main draw. A nice friendly smile was the first thing we arrived to and what we remembered as we left. The staff was very knowledgeable in local recommendations. The location was great, very near to fabulous shopping/restaurants and close to the beach.

First of all, I would not recommend this museum to any non-French speaking people. Before paying entry (6 euros/adult), we were assured there were descriptions in English. We were then given four tiny pieces of chocolate to sample and directed into a room where we were shown a really old-fashioned film clip about how chocolate is made... it was completely in French. To be fair, we were provided with a pamphlet that summarized the movie in English, but it was extremely brief and difficult to read while watching the film simultaneously. The rest of the tour consisted of four rooms of old machinery, chocolate boxes and advertisements that were amusing, but not exactly worth the entry fee.... Also, there were maybe 5-6 descriptions in both English and Spanish, yet probably 30 or so in French. At the end, we got a couple small sips of their hot chocolate, which was rich but not the best. The tour ended in their little chocolate shop with some of the most expensive chocolate I've ever seen.

(Translated by Google) Very, very good sandwich and excellent welcome. 4 stars and not 5 because it is regrettable that you do not take the stay ticket cards. Think about it, it would be a plus (Original) Très, très bon sandwich et accueil au top. 4 étoiles et non pas 5 car il est regrettable que vous ne preniez pas les cartes ticket restons. Pensez-y, ce serait un plus

(Translated by Google) Sandwich for 5 euros! Iberico and cheese inside. To be delicious with few ingredients, the quality of the ingredients must be good, and this is Berry Good. (Original) 샌드위치 5유로! 안에 이베리코랑 치즈 끝. 적은 재료로 맛있으려면 재료의 퀄이 좋아야하는데 여기 베리 굿이다

(Translated by Google) Super good, I'm enjoying it. Very good price for this quality. Pata negra "Bellota" vacuum-packed to take home and cut into thin slices to eat within 3 days 114 euros/kilo. So 5 beautiful chiffonade slices that melt in your mouth for 5 euros! Less salty Bayonne ham so I find it better than usual. Very good Bellota sausage that Camille slices according to the desired number. I regret not having bought more because I wouldn't find this quality at this reasonable price easily. Thank you for the welcome and explanations from Camille who loves her products (Original) Super bon, je me regale.
