Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Tattu Manchester is a stylish bar and restaurant in Spinningfields, drawing inspiration from tattoo art and ancient eastern culture. The menu features modern Chinese fusion dishes with intricate presentation to match the sophisticated interior design. One of its standout features is the iconic blossom tree at the center of the dining room. Tattu offers a unique dining experience with vibrant creativity, setting it apart from traditional Chinese restaurants.
We celebrated our 1st year wedding anniversary here with our family and so glad we did. Cannot fault the level of service, especially Edwin who went the extra mile for us which was greatly appreciated. His knowledge of the restaurant and the dishes was amazing. The food was phenomenal with each dish more flavourful than the last. Overall, highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food experience but also the patient, knowledgeable and dedicated staff.

Tattu Manchester is one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was absolutely delicious — the highlight for me was the sea bass fillet steamed, which was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, creating a great atmosphere for dining. Prices are a bit on the high side, but definitely worth it for the quality of the food, the stunning interior, and the attentive service. I would definitely come back here next time I’m in Manchester.

One of the best! The food was excellent, but what took our experience to the next level was Tyler! We specifically complimented him that the service, care and attention he brought to our dinner was the one of the best we’ve experienced in the UK. Great cocktail recommendations, the TATTU signature tasting experience was excellent: the duck was top tier, crispy but juicy. The shrimp were flavorful and well seasoned. The truffle spring rolls were awesome: not too heavy on the truffle, but just right. Wave 2: salmon was excellent!!! Angry bird, great, and the aged beef filet also excellent! The green beans were a surprise favorite, and the rice also flavorful to round things out. Dessert: the Asian pear sticky toffee pudding, so so so so good! An homage to the UK classic, but sophisticated, light, but rich and delicious all at the same time! 10/10 recommendation, and look forward to supporting Tyler as the future GM of the Miami location 😉

We had an incredible dinner. Diana gave the best service - we couldn’t ask for more! Professional and super friendly. We will definitely return when we come back to Manchester. Highly recommend!
Rose M — Google review
Diana was a brilliant server she went through the menu with us as it was our first time and gave us recommendations which we chose 2 of these and they were gorgeous! She was very attentive throughout the service and checked on us through every course. She made the service and my birthday very enjoyable. I will definitely be returning.
Naomi R — Google review
Diana was amazing, explained the whole menu to us and and our food was served very quicky. I enjoyed the meal. I really wanted to experience the beauty of this restaurant and reserved it for 4 people but instead of being in a spot where we could see the atmosphere we were in a small booth. It was nice as it was private and elegant but we couldn't see the main attraction and it was so dark in the booth that we couldn't take any good photos even with the flash on. I ordered the desert at the start but had to wait an extra 10mins at the end for it which was quite frustrating as my two friends didn't order a desert. Then the pudding was small with 3 tiny slices of pear. The food portions were quite small for the price and they added extra expenses. Such as £5 for water. We thought it was free as they offered it to us. Also a service charge of £27. In total every cost £244 which is way more than it was worth. The duck rolls were tiny, and I only got 3 for £13. Honestly I won't be going back, I ended up ordering a food delivery later that night because I was still hungry. It is a nice experience but I've been to a lot of restaurants that give much better value for money

Best luxury dining experience in Manchester! I booked for my birthday lunch and I am so glad that I did! Loved the ambience and the particular attention from the staff to keep our table clean in between meals. Food tasted amazing and so the cocktails! Will definitely come back soon.
Arianna C — Google review
We used Tattu today for a business event, and the service and food was superb. The private dining room was the perfect size and provided a fantastic setting to showcase our brand. I can't thank Diana enough who looked after us during the event, the service and space which allowed us to present was crucial to the event and Diana choreographed this perfectly with no delays and our dining presented promptly post our presentation. Thank you so much for allowing us to host such a great event

Chinese restaurant
The Rice Bowl, located in the heart of Manchester, offers a diverse menu featuring traditional Chinese cuisine with a focus on dim sum and classic dishes like chow mein and dan dan noodles. The restaurant caters to vegetarians and vegans with options like crispy mock duck with pancakes. The elegant dining room provides a sophisticated setting for enjoying Asian-influenced seafood, salads, steaks, and signature cocktails.
I had an excellent dining experience at The Rice Bowl in Manchester. The food was absolutely outstanding—every dish was top-notch, but the highlight was definitely the duck. It was incredibly crispy and flavorful, truly a must-try! The service was exceptional as well. The staff was highly professional, attentive, and efficient—some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. The restaurant’s ambiance perfectly matches its style, creating an inviting and authentic atmosphere. The overall setting, with its Chinese-inspired decor, adds to the experience, and the price-performance ratio is very reasonable. If you’re in Manchester, The Rice Bowl is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

A lovely restaurant. The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. The staff are very attentive, and provided free fruit after the meal. Lovely decorations too. We had the beef in black bean sauce noodles, which had so many veg packed in, and chicken noodles

A Hidden Gem in Manchester! After a walk through Manchester city centre, we were looking for something different to eat. Everywhere seemed to offer the usual burgers, pizza, or fish and chips but we wanted something more unique. While wandering down the street, we stumbled upon this place and let me tell you, it was amazing! The staff were friendly and polite, and the place was spotless. **The food? Just incredible!** I had the Thai-style coconut chicken, and it was absolutely packed with flavour—something truly divine. The egg fried rice was also a solid 10/10! The starter King Prawn: delicious, hot and full of flavour, perfect! Without a doubt, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester I’ve tried so far. Well done to the team! We’ll definitely be back.

I came here EXPECIALLY for the crispy chilli beef. I have been living abroad for - long time and always been craving this dish since I left. I researched places that served this and came to this place. I strolled in alone at 22.00 and they were super friendly and helpfull. The place is lovely and chilled out. No rush and calming private spacey place yet cozy. The crispy chilly beef was amazing! Just like I remembered it. I been ill so could finish it but it was no problem to take it with me to the hotel. Honestly could eat this every day. Absolutely recommended to come here and try all their dishes. This was top but can imagine their other dishes are just as top.

Stopped here last minute while walking past and found one of the best hidden places in Manchester. Some of the best and friendliest service I’ve received and even though a small wait for food was 1000% worth it! I got the chow mein of the lunch menu which was an amazing portion size with meat and noodles cooked to perfection. The food came out super hot and fresh! Can’t wait to come back!
Alicia — Google review
honestly, if your local and craving hearty food, this is the spot! we got the thai red curry, chilli crispy beef and 2 portions of rice. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS!!! the flavour was so spot on, the food was delicious, and the waiting time was great to be honest. my only concern is the portion size, as they’re just a bit small. good attentive service too! the general vibe and classic jazz playing gives it a comfortable feeling. before your bill they give you fruit too which is so cute!! 100% recommend, the food is outstanding

Restaurant
The Little Yang Sing is a renowned family-run restaurant that has been serving traditional Chinese regional cuisine since 1977. With its smart decor and extensive menu, it has gained international acclaim for its authentic Cantonese dishes, including a comprehensive dim sum selection and banquet menus featuring dishes like whole steamed lobster with garlic, ginger, and chili. The restaurant also offers a charming Cantonese-style afternoon tea.
Amazing restaurant, great reputation and certainly one of the family favourites. The food quality is always too notch and when they shred the duck for you (highly recommend!) it always adds a bit of theatre for the kids too. Service is always very welcoming. 10/10.
Mark W — Google review
Went for a work meal, first thing I loved is that we were on a round table so we could all chat with each other. Service was very good, quick and friendly. Food was probably one of the best Chinese food I've ever had. 100% recommended!
Irene D — Google review
I would recommend you go elsewhere if you want to make your money worth. Dishes are around £17, most don’t come with rice or noodles (so that has to be added). I took the shredded duck with vermicelli, and it tasted dull -despite it being in the chefs’ recommendations section: not much duck, preserved vegetable very acidic, overall a bit too salty. Bill comes with sevice charge (10%) and they also charge £2.50 for a glass of water. The staff was reactive and nice, but the most important to me is food quality and price, which sadly didn’t meet my expectations.
Edouard V — Google review
The staff was friendly and welcome. The restaurant wasn't overly busy for a Sunday evening, which was nice. Service was hit and miss depending which waiter. Ill manner by taking plates when not everyone was finished eating on the table. The decor was nice and the atmosphere was ok. The food was nice and a good portion, slightly overpriced but understandable as it's in the city centre.
Modelangel — Google review
Delicious food and impeccable service. They have a lot of vegan options! If you tell them you are vegan, they bring you a little list of dishes from vegetarian menu that are not suitable for vegans, so it's very easy to choose. Food was amazing and the portions very generous. My partner and I could barely walk after 🤣 Highly recommended restaurant! Also, great atmosphere
Yuliya S — Google review
Excellent food, however service could have been better! We were a table of 14, but food came out at stages, with some guests having to wait about 15 minutes for the other guests to get their food!
Patrick X — Google review
Recently came to this restaurant for a family meal and loved every single moment of it! The food was delicious! The atmosphere was incredible! The staff were very helpful and friendly! We had the Blooming Blossom banquet and we enjoyed every single meal that was included in it! 100% worth the money and will definitely be back when I can! Thank you Little Yang Sing!

Food was great just felt the pricing was a bit unfair. I received great service though! My partner would love this place because they have so many great vegetarian options. Would definitely come back to try more of their food.

Dim sum restaurant
Glamorous Chinese Restaurant is a spacious and elegantly decorated eatery with a scarlet theme, featuring dragons and colorful lighting. The vast menu offers delicious options including dim sum, 3 meats, pi pa tofu, won ton soup, seafood crispy noodles, roast pork belly and roast duck. The restaurant provides a unique experience with clean facilities and ample parking space.
Just had the salt and pepper King Prawn at a promotional price of £10! Very tasty, eaten without any leftovers. The other dishes are also delicious and very generous in portion. Been coming to Glamorous restaurant for many years and never disappoint.
K C — Google review
The Glamorous is our favourite and go to Chinese restaurant in Manchester. It's located above the Wing Yip Chinese supermarket in the Ancotes area near the Northern Quarter. There's ample parking in the covered multistorey car park on the 1st floor level in front of the restaurant, with a number of disabled spaces, and also on the open air 2nd floor level above. We usually shop in the large Wing Yip Chinese Supermarket on the ground floor, which has its owned covered car park, when we visit the Glamorous. The decor in the very large 1st floor open Hong Kong style restaurant, which can probably seat about 300 people, is a bit dated, however, in my opinion it serves the best authentic Cantonese food in the North of England. There is a large fish tank, where live fish & lobsters are kept prior to being cooked for seafood dishes, next to the bar and a window looking into the kitchen with Hong Kong BBQ meats hanging on display. Male and female toilets are found at one side the back of the restaurant. My wife and I went for a quick pre-theatre meal this evening before going to see the Moulin Rouge musical. We had our favourite fillet steak on a sizzling platter with Cantonese sauce (the meat was so tender we cut it up using just the edge of the serving spoon and the sauce was light, tangy & not too sweet), chicken with green peppers & black bean sauce (tender pieces of chicken with crunchy al dente green peppers in a light black bean sauce with little fermented black bean providing an explosion of umami flavour in your mouth when you bit into them) and just one portion of boiled rice as it a very large portion enough for both of us. We had copious amounts of jasmine tea with our meal, with multiple free refills of our large teapot, and were given some complementary pieces of delicious sweet tangy oranges together with a complimentary bowl of a slightly sweet sago desert, after our main courses. In addition to going for traditional Cantonese food at the Glamorous we also go for their fantastic dim sum dishes, which are very popular with the large Chinese population in and around Manchester on weekends. Service may not be as polished as in other restaurants, not all the Chinese servers speak impeccable English, although the servers taking orders speak good English and are very helpful. However, we go there for the fantastic food at very affordable prices and always enjoy a fantastic meal there.

Casual weekend family dinner. Service was top-notch as we were taken care of throughout the whole evening. Tea and water always topped up, and excellent recommendations on food. Food was classic, nostalgic, and flavourful. Highly recommended the Pork Chops and the Fish Fragrant Eggplant Pot, best pairing with rice 🍚. Dinner is rounded off the sweet soup and fruits (not too sweet).
Vincent L — Google review
Great experience at Glamorous Restaurant! The lady who served us was so friendly and always smiling. The poached prawns were fresh, big and sweet — amazing value £10 only. The soy sauce chicken is a must-try, and they even offer free traditional soup and dessert. Really enjoyed the meal!
Sf L — Google review
Visited on a Sunday evening, fairly quiet time of day. Had the set meal for 4. Prawns were lovley, not soggy at all. 3x roasts were tasty, the spinach With noodles were we/t balanced. If you like proper Chinese food and not just the English versions, you'll like it here.
M — Google review
I rarely used to visit glamorous as a few years ago the dimsum was pretty poor compared to its competitors but i gave it a try recently and it’s surprisingly improved, all the dimsum including the noodles, rice and roast dishes have improved and is surprisingly tasty. With the pleasant experience we had from the dimsum we then came again for an evening meal and it was dreadful.. We ordered several dishes and all of them were mediocre especially the fried seafood which was crispy on outside but very cold on the inside, luckily with the saving grace being the lobster noodles and steamed scallops which were decent but then came the worst dish.. My personal favourite to get at restaurants - sizzling aubergine clay pot with salted fish, I tried it and noticed the fish tasted extremely pungent - bearing in mind I’ve had a lot of salted fish so I’m aware of the taste and different ways it’s prepared, 2 minutes later I felt incredibly lethargic and ran to the toilet to vomit, it felt as like the fish most likely or ingredients in the dish were off as I’ve never felt like this eating out before. I was traumatised and couldn’t eat any further, it ruined my experience. Prices aren’t the cheapest either. It’s a hit in the afternoon for dimsum, clear miss for evening meal at dinner time.

Welcome to Hello Oriental, a vibrant culinary destination nestled in the heart of Manchester's bustling Oxford Road. This multi-level haven is a feast for the senses, offering an eclectic mix of pan-Asian street food that includes everything from steaming bowls of pho and delicate dim sum to fluffy bao buns and fresh sushi. With its lively atmosphere, Hello Oriental features a diverse array of food outlets, including an Asian-inspired bakery where you can indulge in delightful matcha custard buns.
Always a great variety of dishes - have eaten here so many times and tried so many things. Great vibe to go out with friends family or solo, and as someone with an allergy they are really kind and helpful in ordering. The meat is almost all halal except for one small section on the menu they make clear to you if you ask. Free water available by the bar, and they have a ground floor bakery with drinks (bubble teas as well) and ice cream, and two downstair sections with plenty of seating.

A really interesting concept, as we went in expecting a food court. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful waitress who went out of her way to ensure we knew how to order, and suggesting where best to sit as the air conditioning was unfortunately not working. The food was fantastic, so much to choose from, all ordered via a QR code on the table - we were also given a paper menu to make it easier to browse through. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and so tasty. Loved the boozy fruit slushies too

Love this restaurant! Jay really went above and beyond looking after us for my friends birthday- gave us a free drink and dessert! Would definitely come here again. PS get the croc cake
Ruth E — Google review
I came here with my partner not too long ago and we both enjoyed what we ordered. The service was lovely, a lady kindly greeted us and explained that we could order through the app which was pretty simple to use and made the process easier to go at our own pace. We both ordered the Salt & Pepper boxes and the flavour was pretty good. It had a perfect level of spice, not too spicy but also enough to taste. The chicken was a little on the tough side but it wasn’t a put off because it had a good flavour. The portion sizes were okay considering its price and I can’t be too mad because the boxes both came with large tubs of curry and sweet & sour sauces which we both enjoyed. We also ordered a fruit tea from the area upstairs, I got a lychee tea and my partner got a honeydew melon tea. Both of the drinks were wonderful and the girl working at the time was really friendly. We would definitely return if we were in Manchester and needed a quick and tasty meal or fruit tea. (:
Bobbi W — Google review
Nice oriental street-food vibe and easy QR code ordering system. The wait time for food was unreasonably long. I had the Seared Salmon Uramaki with a Diet Coke. The food itself was decent, nothing mind-blowing but enjoyable enough, and the prices were affordable. Overall, good for the atmosphere and vibe, but be prepared to wait quite a while for your meal.
Sandy C — Google review
Pretty interior with ambient lighting and rustic table+ chairs. However, I really dislike the fact that you order using a QR code and yet they still take a mandatory service charge AND ask for a tip when you don’t actually interact with the staff much. The servers were nice in general regardless. Additionally, my group generally agreed that the food was mediocre, and we all felt it was lacking some salt. Though the bun hue I had looks impressive and was actually a generous portion, I didn’t get the meaty and comforting flavour you should get with a broth based soup-it felt flat. They did give us salt when requested, though. Additionally, we shared a crème brûlée bingsu; initially, it didn’t have the charred quality you would expect from crème brûlée/the online pictures. This was rectified when we, again, asked. Overall, definitely felt that it was overhyped as we felt the priority was placed on aesthetics rather than the quality of the food. Generally I find that any establishment that is super popular on TikTok is a miss. 2.75/5

Mostly go for the fruit bubble teas which are consistently good. The few times I have ordered food have been tasty and as expected. Edit: successfully upgraded to 5* after another good eating experience. Sushi is great as is the BBH (traditional pho may have a better flavour balance, the BBH had me coughing and spluttering- a truly masterful amount of capsaicin that binds and drives into the tongue pores). Only thing I thought didn't slap was the nasi goreng, but it has on a previous occasion.

Lots of fresh vegetables and meats - The staff are always very nice and attentive and the manager/owner is great! I reached my personal best of a measly 11 plates and my partner almost got on the leader board with her 37 plates! ( she's going to try again at Christmas!)

Loved it from my very first visit! The charcoal grill gives the meat such a delicious smoky flavor that you just can’t get with gas or electric. The Korean beef and barbecue sticks were my favourites! Juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The portions were generous, and everything tasted really fresh. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, not too formal, which makes it a great spot to relax.

Came to dine with a few friends for the BBQ - had an absolutely fantastic time! Alan the owner was brilliant, making sure we were well looked after and providing an excellent service along with the rest of the lovely staff members. In particular we really enjoyed the Chicken with Black Pepper and the homemade ice lemon tea, but everything we tried (a mix of the set meal and side dishes) was delicious! All of us were in agreement that we would definitely dine here again - would highly recommend!

Great place. Been here twice now. Good quality food, good price and good amount. Service is spot on too. I can’t fault this place. 👍🏼

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. 1. The staff and even the owner showed clear discrimination against Chinese (mainland) customers, while treating white customers much more politely. That kind of unequal treatment is completely unacceptable. 2. The barbecue skewers were badly burnt and tasted bitter. 3. One of the dishes we ordered never arrived, even after reminding the staff several times. Overall, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the UK. Poor service, poor food quality, and unfair treatment — I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Tried the Chinese BBQ and was not disappointed. The place is set up well, not over crowded, clean and nicely decorated. Lots of HALAL meat options which were absolutely delicious. Large menu to suit lots of appetites and allergen requirements. The homemade lemon ice tea was *chefs kiss*. The staff were incredible - we had our toddler with us and they were very accmodative of him. All in all 10 out of 10, will be back again with more family!

Happy Seasons Restaurant, a Chinatown staple since 1982, is renowned for its no-frills, authentic Chinese cuisine. The informal eatery offers classic Chinese soups, dim sum, seafood and meat dishes, as well as set menus. Its signature roast duck, crispy pork belly and barbecue are legendary and draw in crowds of hungry customers. The restaurant's decor is simple with touches of 80s glamour and warm hospitality.
Delicious, absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves Asian food. Located in China town Manchester. There's always a queue & you cannot book but max waiting time is 10-15 mins so worth it. Staff very nice and friendly. Food is freshly made too

If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in Manchester, Happy Seasons is an absolute must-visit. The flavors are exceptional, the dishes come out piping hot and perfectly cooked, and the menu offers an incredible range of traditional Cantonese specialties. We had the roast duck and char siu—absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The seasoning was spot on, and the crispy duck skin was next level. The portion sizes are generous, and everything felt fresh and made with care. Service was quick and efficient, even when the restaurant was packed (which it usually is—a great sign!). There's a real buzz and authenticity to the place that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden gem in Hong Kong. Highly recommend booking in advance or being prepared to queue—it's worth the wait. A true Manchester institution for anyone who loves proper Chinese food. (don't miss Jasmine tea)

You know it's good when there's a cue outside!! We came here as a group of 7 so we had to wait a while for tables (Approx 30 minutes), luckily the weather is good! Service is extremely quick and efficient. Food came out nice and hot all cooked to a high standard. Good flavour, decent portions and good value for money. I liked the atmosphere, lots of hustle and bustle but not ruining the experience. Overall a great restaurant with a varied menu that caters for all tastes and top food!!

I recently had a fantastic meal at Happy Seasons, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation! We tried a range of dishes, and every single one was packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. The prawn fried rice was fragrant and well-balanced, with generous portions of juicy prawns. The mapo tofu was rich, spicy, and full of depth—perfect comfort food with a kick. The charsiu pork and pork belly were both incredibly tender and flavourful, with that signature sweetness and savoury glaze that’s hard to beat. But the real star of the show was their signature roast duck—crispy skin, succulent meat, and just the right amount of seasoning. It’s no wonder it’s so highly recommended! The service was fast and efficient, and the atmosphere was lively, giving it that authentic buzz of a proper Cantonese spot. Happy Seasons is definitely a go-to for amazing Chinese food in the city, and I can’t wait to go back for more!

Delicious food and good food portions. We ordered the 4 dishes and couldn’t finish and have to take the rest in a takeaway. The service is fast.
Harshita J — Google review
I came here on a Friday evening and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table - not surprising as the place is clearly popular. This is a proper Cantonese / Hong Kong style restaurant, and the no-frills interior instantly reminded me of eateries back in Hong Kong. The food really delivered. The roast duck was spot on - crispy skin, tender meat, and a rich sauce that brought everything together. The braised beef brisket was another standout, meltingly tender and full of flavour. The salt & pepper ribs were nicely seasoned with a good crunch, but the star of the night was the stir fried rice noodle with beef. It had that smoky "wok hei" that's hard to find outside of Hong Kong - absolutely delicious. Overall, the food here is authentic & If you're craving proper Cantonese dishes, this is definitely worth the wait in line.

A nice Chinese restaurant. The set menus are very large and quite filling. I recommend it.
Remzi U — Google review
This is by all means the very best Chinese restaurant in Manchester. Food is Cantonese style (mostly not spicy). The quality of their dishes and tastes are as good as they are in popular eateries in Hong Kong or south of mainland China. Excellent vale for money. Fast service and very friendly staff. As this is 'no booking' place, come and join the queue, but don't be scared if the queue outside looks long, as it moves fast (some customers are waiting for their take-away).

Sweet Mandarin is a family-run restaurant located on High Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter. The establishment, opened in 2004, is run by three sisters who inherited recipes from their late grandmother, Lily Kwok. The menu features dishes like jungle green curry, beef curry, and clay pot chicken. Sweet Mandarin also offers gluten-free options and click-and-collect service for banquets and dim sum.
This is the place for you if you're looking for good, affordable and glutenfree Chinese food in Manchester. I made a reservation via email for the same day and heard back five minutes later. For some reason Google Maps showed me a location in Thomas Street, but the restaurant is actually two streets away in Copperas Street.
Jan K — Google review
With me being coeliac, finding proper Chinese food with gluten free options is incredibly difficult. So when I saw a video of this place on TikTok, I was really excited and eager to try it out. I visited on a Tuesday with my boyfriend, optimistic and genuinely pleased to have found a place that caters to coeliacs—especially as Chinese food is one of my favourites. However, a few things stood out right away. Firstly, the opening times are very limited—just four hours a day. Because of this, the atmosphere during our hour-long visit felt very quiet and lifeless. Extending the hours might help bring in more customers and improve the vibe. When it came to ordering, the waitress seemed unenthusiastic and uninterested. I ordered prawn toast and asked for the chicken chow mein without chicken, essentially making it a vegetable version. About ten minutes later, she returned to ask, “Which chow mein did you mean?” With only two options on the menu, this somehow made her confused. I repeated my request, which she then questioned loudly with the chef that I overheard. This didn’t feel very professional and made it seem like I was asking for something really complicated when I simply just wanted a chow mein without chicken. When the food arrived, hot enough to burn your mouth, it was extremely underwhelming. The prawn toast was tough, my boyfriend’s chicken in the munchbox was really chewy, and my chow mein was about 90% bean sprouts. The dish was overly salty, which masked any other flavours, and it had an oddly shiny, slippery texture that put me off after a few mouthfuls. My boyfriend tasted it too and felt the same. The bigges disappointment was the price—£46 in total for food that was below average, both in taste and quality. Unfortunately, it just didn’t live up to expectations, and we felt that neither the food nor the service justified the cost. We won’t be returning.

Really enjoyed our meal here. Great portion sizes for the price. Great service from the minute we walked through the door. Food arrived quickly and hot. Separate gluten free menu with lots of choice.

Was so lovely having dinner here, they are so good for gluten free food so my mum was able to eat proper Chinese without gluten which is rare so she was incredibly excited! I am quite fussy myself and usually don’t like Chinese but they had a really nice starter soup and this massive box of chicken and chips so I was sorted. Staff were so sweet and friendly.

Thank you for a really amazing meal and offering safe gluten free menus. I came with my daughter who is coeliac for her birthday. It was such a massive treat and she loved it. They really looked after us and gave her a lovely handwritten card and a chocolate bar. It was a very special experience and we will be back :)

We went back in May and the food was so lovely! We had the duck spring rolls, the vegetable dumplings, the vermicelli, egg fried rice, salt and pepper chips and chicken in black bean. All that and bottle of wine for £70 was a bargain, so full of flavour and worth every penny We had told the staff when we reserved that it was our anniversary and the staff gave us a lovely card and these cute coasters. We were so made up, we'll definitely be coming again after that!

Absolutely brilliant meal this evening at Sweet Mandarin. Our teenager enjoyed his meal so much he ordered a whole second meal (portion sizes are great, he's a growing boy!). We opted for the meal for two at £45 which was great value and every component utterly delicious. Our daughter had the duck which looked phenomenal. We are visitors to Manchester otherwise this would have become a 'go to'. Highly recommend for a nice date night or family meal.

Altrincham Market is a vibrant hub that beautifully blends culinary delights with local craftsmanship. Nestled next to the historic 19th-century covered market, this Grade II listed venue has undergone an impressive transformation, making it one of Greater Manchester's top foodie destinations. Inside, you'll find a bustling food hall featuring independent vendors like Honest Crust, known for its woodfired pizzas; Tender Cow, specializing in rare breed steaks; and Sam Joseph’s exquisite handmade chocolates.
Loved the market! Lots of little shops with clothes, jewelry and flowers. There is also a bakery that had very tasty bread and pastry. Right next door is a food court to sit down and eat with a variety of choices.

Fantastic place, lots of food and drink stalls surrounding a central seating area. Lots of seating outside as well as in. We had a Portobello pizza from Honest Crust and it was great, traditionally made in a pizza ovan. My partner had a pint of Hells German lager which he said was good. I had mango cider but wasn't thrilled, it wasn't wasted as he drank it 😅
Jan R — Google review
This has to be one of the cutest food markets I’ve visited. What really stood out was the water station, they had taps with clean jars, glasses, and even a whole bucket of ice, which you don’t often see in London food markets. I tried food from the stall in the picture, and the flavours were really good (a pleasant surprise since Mexican food often gets butchered here). The only downside was that the portions were on the smaller side.

Cottonopolis is a vibrant spot in Manchester, housed in a warehouse-style venue where you can enjoy Asian-inspired menus and a full bar. The restaurant offers an exceptional weekend brunch from 10am to 3pm, featuring a fusion of Eastern and Western influences. Some standout dishes include sake-cured gravlax, poached apricots with 5 spice mascarpone, and confit duck croquette with crispy duck egg on waffles.
Some friends recommended it to me, I came to this Japanese and I will come back for sure, both Mike's attention and the supervision of his manager Alessia were great, at all times they were taking care of us and that we did not lack anything. We ordered some squid in tempura, Japanese barbeque sirloin, and some exquisite desserts, I enjoyed it a lot. We will be back for sure.

We visited Cottonopolis after a recommendation from a friend. Really good atmosphere and service. The sushi was great and they have a good variety of meats for those that don't eat pork/ beef.
Penelope K — Google review
It is expensive considering the size. Taste is fairly plain, tho the texture is good. 4 pieces of sushi priced 10+ pounds! I can have a complete roll in another Japanese restaurant, which does the same quality. We have paid 60 but need to find other restaurants to fill us 😫 They are not that extraordinarily tasty to cover the shortage of size.

My friend took me there for a birthday dinner. I loved it. The food was amazing, it was a tapas style kind of portion. The decoration was nice. The staff were very nice to us. And the prices were great. I loved the spicy tuna

We had an amazing evening here and tasted the special 7 course menu they were running in January for £25!! What a deal. It was really busy for a Monday night and the food is definitely the reason behind that! The crispy squid was my favourite dish the honey sauce was something out of this world. The pork gyoza was also probably the best I’ve ever had. We inhaled the food so quickly but unfortunately we were kept waiting on one of our courses for quite a bit of time. I believe we may have been forgotten about. However this didn’t spoil the evening and the food was worth the wait when it arrived. Would love to come back and the young guy that served us was fab!

This place is absolutelly wonderfull, its a Japanese inspiration transmite to you modernity but at the same time peace and glamour, the service is excellent, very good attention all time, the place I find very clean, the food was stunning in all the ways (flavours, presentation, prices and portion) , cocktails can say as a Bartender was very original and creative. I hight recommend this place for brunch ,still i wanted to see the menú for dinner may i have back soon, but if you are looking for a very nice place in everything this is your place, 100% excellent. Follow my recipe on my youtube channel "Sazón con Historia"

I really wanted to love it this place but sadly it was a let down. The venue seems a bit pretentious, and it attracts that kind of clientele. All day DJ would be fine but it was too loud to able to converse. The food was just ok. The skewers were nice but the sushi platter was a let down, and it took about 40 minutes to be made up. The cocktails are too try hard, the sweet soda was bland and expensive. Service was perfunctory. Spent £120 and left feeling really flat and also hungry - won’t be back.

Modern food hall in a classic setting. Several vendors from which to choose, but not too many that it’s overwhelming. All the food we ordered was good, especially the jacket potato fries and fish taco. Service was friendly and prompt and the whole place had a nice vibe
Seiriol D — Google review
Mackie Mayor is housed in a beautiful old building, and I really liked the relaxed atmosphere inside. It has a handful of food stalls dotted around, which gives it a bit of a market hall feel. That said, I found the food choices a little underwhelming. For the prices charged, I expected better quality and variety - it felt a touch on the expensive side for what it was. What stood out for me, though, was the drinks. The beer selection is impressive, with plenty on tap, and what I tried was fresh and well-kept. Overall, I'd say Mackie Mayor is a nice spot if you're mainly going for drinks and the setting, but less so if you're expecting a wide range of exciting food options.
Merryheart — Google review
I recently visited Mackie Mayor and had quite a mixed experience. On the positive side, the drinks were honestly amazing and came out very quickly. However, the music was turned up far too loud, making it difficult to have a proper conversation with the people I was dining with. Food-wise, the Karaage chicken, nap buns and the curry were excellent — full of flavour and cooked really well. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the ramen and pizza. The ramen, which I’d had before and absolutely loved, was a huge letdown this time. It arrived lukewarm with little to no flavour, which was really disappointing given how good it had been previously. Maybe the kitchen was having an off day, or perhaps standards have slipped, but either way it definitely wasn’t worth the price I paid. As for the pizza, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either — very average and again, not worth the cost. Service was another downside. I struggled to flag down staff throughout my meal, and despite trying several times, I couldn’t get a glass of tap water maybe this is a tactic to try and get you to buy the over priced bottles Overall, while there were some highlights, the negatives outweighed them for me. For the price point, I expected far better. Sadly, I’d give this visit a 3/10.

A lovely food hall inside a gorgeous building in the Northern Quarter. There’s a wide range of food options but the prices can be a bit expensive for what you actually get. The beer selection is lovey and the overall vibe is great. Service can be slow but that’s to be expected as it can get very busy. 7/10

A lovely place to visit - food hall inside a beautiful building in the Northern Quarter. There’s a wide range of food options and drinks. There is a system with QR code- scan, choose and pay(very much common in UK) I recommend to sit and see the menu/photos of food first, if you are unsure what to get, cause the written font of the signs in stalls are a bit unreadable. Overall atmosphere is great!

A phenomenal space with a wide range of dishes. The dining room is very popular not only with locals but also with foreign tourists. This results in higher prices, which is natural. However, the price for a Caesar salad was extremely excessive.

I have no idea about the food. It looks very nice. Unfortunately there was a mistake with the reservation and when I showed up today it turned out they'd expected me 17:30 on a Thursday and charged me £60 for a no show. My error, but I don’t know... If your reaction to this is "serves you right", I'd say it looks good, try it. If your reaction is "ouch, that could happen to me!" be warned. Personally, if it's a genuine error, I'd be a bit more amenable and understanding in their shoes and take the opportunity to acquire a customer. That's obviously not their priority. I won't try here again.
James R — Google review
Firstly, I'd like to give the staff recognition for their friendly service. Secondly the food wasn't worth the money, all the starters were deep fried with no taste, just added onions, garlic and red chillies - this does not make a dish "Salt and Pepper". The mains was more acceptable but still not amazing. To conclude this, my local Chinese take away food is far better, the taste, the quality and the price. Here I felt like I paid for take away food for fine dining prices. If the food was better, this would be a great place and I wouldn't mind paying.

Nestled in the heart of Manchester, Tai Wu Chinese Restaurant is a delightful culinary escape that invites you to savor an extensive array of dim sum and traditional Cantonese dishes. Formerly known as Tai Pan, this charming eatery has reinvented itself post-pandemic, aiming to offer patrons a taste of authentic Far Eastern flavors. While its exterior may not be particularly eye-catching—situated above W.H. Lungs cash and carry—it’s a bustling hub filled with diners even during midweek lunches.
Absolutely loved the food at Tai Wu. Quantity and quality is super high! The place is amazing and very much value for money. Although we visited almost at the end of the day, an hour before closing. It’s been awhile since I’ve been and I think the food has gone downhill a little. The cheung fun, three roast rice, seafood hor fun and cuttlefish was nice. However the siu mais feel like they have shrunken in size, the siu lung baos were not great, the skin was too thick and weirdly shaped and the meat inside wasn’t great. The chicken feet was not easily taken off the bone like it would usually be. The char siu baos were falling apart, difficult to even hold one. The environment is like a busy Chinese dim sum place but it’s difficult to have a conversation.

This is a massive Chinese restaurant near MMU and above a Chinese supermarket, came here for lunch on a Sunday and it was a full house. We made a reservation which I would recommend on a weekend. The food was decent. I usually just eat Dim Sum when it comes to Chinese food and the dim sum here was pretty good, they have both steamed and fried options. They have a couple of menus, so in terms of variety and choice of food there is just so many it can be overwhelming. But you can probably find almost any Chinese dish on the menu. It was majority Chinese customers in here and menus are both Chinese and English. Prices are mid range. Service was very basic, pretty much no frills. Overall a lot of variety and good dim sum.

A very nice place near the coach station. The selection is nice, for the spicy food lovers is the place. The chicken was not the best, but the noodles were amazing!

Had an incredible dining experience at Red Chilli Authentic Chinese Food in Manchester! Every dish was bursting with flavor—from perfectly cooked duck(halal) , noodles, fish, chicken (halal) , meat(halal) , and vegetables to several other delicious items I can’t even name but thoroughly enjoyed. The variety and richness of the food were simply outstanding. Big thanks to Zhengli for recommending this spot—it truly delivered! The entire Global Corridors project team had a fantastic time enjoying this authentic and satisfying meal together. Highly recommended if you're looking for real, hearty Chinese cuisine in Manchester.

Food tasted soo good!! We had 2 on starter menu, which were amazing, and 2 noodles soups; beef brisket is recommended. Teas in pot were huge, Chrysanthemum smells so aromatic and sweet. Staff were attentive.

Absolutely lovely meals. Struggled to choose which ones to have! Reasonably priced for a city centre restaurant and tasted really nice. Fully enjoyed it. It was recommended by my daughter, as she had meals there a couple of times so far. Sure we'll be back again 😇🙌🏻

Not busy on Saturday’s night which is perfect for us. They do both hongkong style and Sichuan style dishes. We had 2 noodle dishes and 3 meat dishes.Very efficient service but also friendly. Surprised by the cumin lamb, authentic and also tasty. This is more like a homemade style not a fancy place but we like it!

The best Chinese in all of Manchester. The food is authentic, and tastes always delicious. The service is exemplary (mind you they add 10% service charge to the bill). Not knocking any points but I am not a fan of the egg fried rice here, little bit basic and bland.

Karahi Wok is a delightful dining spot that beautifully marries the flavors of Indian and Chinese cuisine, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts in Manchester. Nestled near Salford Quays, this award-winning restaurant has garnered a loyal following among locals who rave about its fresh and flavorful dishes. The menu features beloved classics from both culinary traditions, ensuring there's something to satisfy every palate.
Really enjoyed the food. Taste, portion size and service all were excellent. The place is neat, cozy with sufficient seating and was very calm which is what I like as opposed to noisy place where you can barely hear your company. The service was prompt, we finished our dinner within an hour with 5 dishes ordered. Indo-chinese taste definitely was achieved. They have good menu. Will be trying out Indian dishes too next time. We had: veg schezwaan noodles, egg rice, veg spring rolls, chilli paneer and chicken mmalai tikka. I would recommend this place.

A lovely meal had here. Week day. Managed to get a table for two despite it being fairly busy on a Tuesday night. Two courses and a couple of drinks came to a little over £50 which is very reasonable. Food arrived quickly and was fresh and full of flavours. The Indian fried chicken (pictured) was a highlight! Loads of flavours and a gentle warming spice.

Cheers 🥳 I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kadhai Wok, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The restaurant offers an impressive blend of authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and a contemporary ambiance that elevates the overall dining experience. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring a wide variety of dishes that cater to diverse palates. Each dish I tried was prepared with remarkable attention to detail, balancing spices perfectly without overwhelming the taste buds. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the presentation reflected a fine balance between tradition and modern aesthetics. The service deserves special mention—Priti was very attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the dining process seamless. Additionally, the atmosphere was inviting, with just the right mix of comfort and elegance, making it ideal for both casual dining and special occasions. Overall, Kadhai Wok exceeded my expectations and stands out as a restaurant that values both quality and customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic yet refined culinary experience. Thank you so much to priti and Gobi Manchurian 😍🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Let me begin by thanking the owners and the chefs who have created the menu and this place. It's truly said that when you re-locate to a new place, you must adapt to its culture and food pattern, but how can you not crave for something that you have been eating for ages? Luckily I found a few good Indian restaurants here but was sad that couldn't find any indo-chinese or chindian food here. BUT FINALLY FOUND IT. The desi Chinese here is outstanding. The first morsel of fried rice took me straight to the streets of Bombay where I used to regularly order my Chinese food from. We tried the Paneer Chilly, Chicken 65, Chicken fried rice and chicken Schezwan fried rice. Everything deserves a 10/10. Too good and I am sure will keep ordering regularly or will visit to savour more delicacy.

This hidden gem is a must try if you love Chinese food. It is run by an Indian chef who cooks with his soul. We had the Prawns Fried Rice and Egg Fried Noodles and it was absolutely delicious, like a street style. My favourite to order is the egg noodles as it has a smoky taste and does not taste plain. Definitely recommended 💯

Amazing food, hidden gem, great service , freshly cooked out of this world, best curry me and the family have had. The non veg sharing starter was unreal. We eat in but the takeaway was busy, wish it was in my home town as we found it on trip advisor.

Hunan Restaurant is a vibrant establishment that offers a wide range of regional Chinese dishes, with a focus on vegetarian and vegan options. The menu features Beijing and Sichuan specialties prepared by experienced chefs, some of whom have worked in Chinese embassies and five-star hotels. In addition to familiar Cantonese-style dishes, the restaurant also presents authentic recipes from other provinces, including Hunan.
Fantastic food! Great service from the friendly staffs too. The stir fried pork with peppers was amazing, full of flavor and had the perfect balance of spicy and savory. The dry pot potatoes was full of wok hey/ smoky flavor. Every bite was an explosion of flavours. The mapo tofu was a bit different than what I am used to as there was a hint of sweetness to it, not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that it's a Hunan restaurant instead of Sichuan. But this does not mean it was not good, just different.

An Unforgettable Chinese Dining Experience Absolutely outstanding Chinese food! Every dish was packed with authentic flavor—from the lobster 🦞 to the perfectly crispy spicy chicken. Arndale Market, located within the Arndale Shopping Centre in Manchester, offers a diverse range of international foods and fashion stalls. The market features fresh fish, cheeses, meats, and a food hall where visitors can sample affordable cuisine from around the world including Mexican, Greek, Jamaican, and Italian. Additionally, there are options for halal food such as kebabs and falafels.
Love to visit this market. Full of choice The most attractive thing is from food, clothes, café, books n stationery, photos accessories etc you can find here and you can travel from anywhere in Manchester by bus or trams, trains.

This is one of the more convenient fresh produce and seafood markets in Manchester city centre. It offers a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and seafood, making it a great option for those looking for fresh ingredients. The selection is quite diverse, and it’s easy to find everything you need in one place. However, the prices are on the higher side, which might not make it the most budget-friendly option. Additionally, while the seafood selection is decent, the quality can be a bit hit or miss—it’s not always as fresh as you’d expect for the price. That being said, the market is well-organised and convenient, making it a solid choice for grocery shopping, especially if you’re after variety and ease of access. If they could improve the seafood quality and adjust the pricing a little, it would be even better!
Kris — Google review
The Arndale Market is the far less classy neighbour of the adjacent Ardnale Shopping Centre, but in some ways is more interesting as a result. You'll find traditional market stalls, nail bars, mobile phone shop as well as a large and well stocked fishmonger but the real selling point of the market is the array of independant food outlets offering (at the time of writing) cuisines including Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Greek, Mexican, Brazilian, Caribbean, Greek, British, pizza, sandwiches and much more. You need to have a proper wander before deciding which stall to order from. Personally I try to order from a different stall each time I visit Manchester, which as I'm there two or three times a year means I'm still working my around, and it seems everytime I go there there's a new place opened up. It's a bit of a shame that Google Maps couldn't actually manage to find a photo of the market to choose as the "cover photo" for this listing, but Google Maps do seem to have a knack of picking the least appropriate photos to illustrate venues!!!

Blue Eyed Panda is a popular restaurant in Manchester, England that started as a take-away and now has its own restaurant. The place offers a diverse range of Chinese dishes such as crispy duck, ribs, noodles, honey-glazed roast char siu pork, and Szechuan staples like hot poached beef in chili oil. Despite facing challenges like break-ins over lockdown, the restaurant continues to serve authentic Chinese cuisine with Northern grit.
The food and atmosphere was superb. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. There is usually a wait because of their exceptional Cantonese dishes so it's always advisable to call ahead of time before visiting. You would love it.

Professional service, positive reception, delicious food! The spicy noodles was a good portion and the flavours were bold and so tasty, I had to order some rice to enjoy the sauce more! The waitress was delightful and I was comfortable in their high-back booth seats, creating some privacy and enjoying the plenty of light that comes from their large windows.

Visited for an early dinner on a Sunday, without a reservation. We’ve been here a few times before and really like the variety in the menu and how fresh everything is cooked/tastes. Would recommend our starters - the har gow, salt and pepper ribs. We share a mixed vegetable fried rice with our mains and to be honest, which was ok but not different/better enough that we’d do the same in the future rather than fried rice or noodles. My main was kind prawns in oyster sauce and it was amazing, with everything cooked well and my husband really enjoyed his mixed with black pepper sauce. Drinks are on the slightly pricier side but overall, prices are ok. Some of the serving staff are friendlier than others, but that’s often the way. Would definitely recommend.

Chinese restaurant on the edge of city centre. Restaurant isnt huge but it still fits a decent number of people. Menu has a wide variety of dishes such as a small selection of dim sum, rice or noodle dishes and normal main dishes. Tried the dim sum platter and there were only 4 dim sums so it's not really worth the price. The xiao pong bao filling was a bit weird as it was very mushy. Special fried rice: taste was good and had a lot of ingredients. slightly on the smaller side for portion size but still ok. Monk fish bowl: taste was good but portion size was quite small. The fish and onions was fragrant and juicy. Beef brisket in curry sauce: the beef brisket was tender and juicy. Portion size was also on the smaller side but not too bad. In general, the taste was decent (except for the xiao long bao) but portion sizes were a bit small for the price. I would probably advice ordering at least 3 dishes between 2 people. 10% Service charge added to the final bill.

Fantastic food. Great lunch deal to have a main a side and a drink! The food came out hot and fast. My meal was spicy and I loved it. Highly suggest coming here for some Asian cuisine! This was our first time ordering from Yum Cha and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered via Deliveroo so we cannot comment on the atmosphere of the restaurant but if it is as good as the food, we would expect the environment to be 5 stars too. The service we received from Yum Cha was excellent. We ordered a two-person deal on Deliveroo but encountered an issue with selecting the same main course twice. This was promptly resolved by a quick phone call to the restaurant which we greatly appreciated. The food was still very hot and fresh when delivered to us which is always a good sign. It was extremely flavourful, particularly the sweet chilli wontons. The vegetarian options were also very accommodating, offering multiple vegi options which were great! Overall we were very happy with our meal and are looking forward to ordering from here again!

Loved this place. I was up in Manchester work for a few days and was staying at the nearby Hilton. Spotted this on maps and saw all the roasted meats so gave it a go with some dumplings. It was so good I went back the very next night!!

Food was really good and full of flavour. The waitress who served me was very friendly and welcoming, but a few of the other staff didn’t seem as cheerful. At one point, some of the staff were taking a break at a nearby table and talking quite loudly, which was a bit distracting. Also, one of the water glasses on my table wasn’t clean. Overall, the food was nice, but the atmosphere could have been a bit more pleasant.

Takeout Restaurant
Tibetan Kitchen Manchester is a delightful gem nestled in South Manchester, celebrated for its authentic Tibetan cuisine infused with Himalayan flavors. This family-run establishment has cultivated a loyal following thanks to its diverse menu that caters to both vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Diners can indulge in traditional dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of neighboring India, China, and Nepal.
Extremely satisfied with this place! Family-run business, so you know they really take care of the place and the quality of their food. I got the option that lets you try 3 dishes in one meal, as well as their beef and vegetable momos. I highly recommend the broccoli stir fry! Serving was generous and I had to take home some of the food I wasn't able to finish. Not disappointed at all and would definitely go back if I get a chance.
Angelica D — Google review
Food was average, too oily, momos were tasteless and so was the chutney, noodles were good. The chicken and pork quality is good however the quantity of oil defeats the purpose of having a quality meal. And the free chai tea is the worst tea I ever had.
Aditya G — Google review
One of my absolute favourite places to eat in Manchester! The food is wholesome and comforting with extremely generous portions! The cauliflower is the star dish but all the curries are great. I love the complimentary sweet chai and the service is so friendly. Such a great neighbourhood spot ⭐️
Anna K — Google review
So today I learnt- traditional tibetan momos are very different from those in Nepal/Bhutan/Sikkim. These momos were thick, fried and had very little filling. So, if you want to try the traditional Tibetan momos, visit this place. Personally, I hated them from the very depths of my soul. They seemed like fried Baos and had very little flavour and loads (and I mean loads) of oil. The three stars are for the authenticity of the place, not the taste... But I'll be back here to try the thupka - hopefully, I'll not learn anything new that day and would get to update my review!
Ritwik M — Google review
Service was fantastic and really makes you feel at home, that alone may make you want to come back. The food itself, however, was quite disappointing as everything we tried severely lacked flavour. The momo's were okay but being Tibetan, are different to others you may have tried.

We had a beautiful meal here. The service was lovely, very attentive but not too much. We had the set meal B for 2, way too much food for us to finish off, but it was delicious. Totally recommend the pepper beef and sweet and sour prawns. When back in Manchester I'll definitely return. Thank you for a lovely experience. 🙂

We came here last year and really liked it and decided to try it again.. it was still good but here is a more detailed review. We had the set menu B. Appetizers - were wonderful Crispy Duck - the best! Sweet and Sour King Prawns - almost the best Sizzling Fillet Steak - smelled divine but the taste didn’t match up with the smell Chicken with Cashew - was not our favorite Yeung Chow Fried Rice - another great dish At one point they must have lost our order because they tried to bring another plate of duck (probably should have taken it) and after that it took over 30 minutes to get the next course and then we weren’t as ravenous. It was Friday night and got busy about the time the second duck came.

Amazing place. First off, the place feels really cool and vibrant, as well as a really good customer service experience. The servers were so friendly, and actually joking around wich made us feel right at home from the start. And then came the food. Not only was every single course absolutley fantastic, but the amount of food for the price was enourmos. This place needs to be tested if in Manchester!👏

Very nice restaurant set up and decorations. Particularly impressed with the mobility machine which helped my grandma move down to the lower ground floor seamlessly. Very nice and helpful staff which made us feel home. Food is amazing too - big portions and good flavour. Reasonable price. My second time here and will definitely recommend.

We came to Home Chinese after seeing plenty of good reviews, and it certainly lived up to the praise. The dim sum here is excellent - authentic in flavour, generously portioned, and great value for money. One of the highlights for us was the Deep Fried King Prawn Roll, which came highly recommended by some local Chinese diners we chatted with - absolutely delicious and worth ordering. In fact, everything we tried was really well executed, from the classics to the more unique dishes. The service was another standout. The staff were warm and attentive, and we'd like to give a special mention to Lester and Kai Jie, who made us feel very welcome throughout our meal. If you're in Manchester and craving proper Hong Kong-style dim sum, Home Chinese is a spot l'd definitely recommend.

The menu features perfectly glazed roasted meats, flavorful vegetable dishes, and cloud-like pork buns that are sure to satisfy any craving for authentic Cantonese cuisine. Additionally, the restaurant offers private karaoke booths for those looking to add some entertainment to their dining experience.
Great food with great values - best roasted duck in Manchester. Could have been even nicer if the plates were heat up before serving so the food would stay warm for longer. The restaurant manager was meeting customers and providing warm and professional reception service. They have two floors and the 1st floor is quieter. Both floors have toilets. They have nice KTV rooms on the 1st floor and customers can dine and sing all together.

One of the best Cantonese restaurants in Manchester! A true local gem right in Chinatown. Their roast pork is honestly the best I’ve ever had — perfectly crispy skin and so flavorful. The char siu and roast duck are also amazing, perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. We also tried: • Three Cup Chicken Claypot – super fragrant and rich, perfect with rice. • Steamed Pork Ribs & Chicken Feet – authentic Cantonese flavor, tender and full of taste. • Rice Noodle Roll with Fried Dough (炸两肠粉) – recommended by the waiter, crispy inside and silky outside, really special! • BBQ Pork Puff – they were almost sold out, and the waiter even gave us the last two for free, so nice! They even have private rooms with karaoke, with a huge song selection — perfect for gatherings or birthday parties. Open until 3 a.m., so great for late-night food too. Definitely recommend for anyone craving real Cantonese food in Manchester!

Several friends had recommended this Chinese restaurant for yum cha in Manchester City. It was a beautiful Sunday morning, so we went there early. The restaurant was playing Cantonese music, which was quite homey. The dim sum was decent, especially dim sum with Char xiu, only the shrimp dumplings and soup dumplings were not that good. All else we ordered were good. I recommended this restaurant.
Ice L — Google review
Went here for dinner and KTV and honestly had such a good time! 🎤🍴 The song list is super long, basically you can find anything you want to sing. The dim sum was really tasty, and the Cantonese dishes felt very authentic. Food came out really fast too, which was great since we were starving. Perfect spot if you want to eat well and sing your heart out at the same time!

Fantastic experience at Aplus Oriental Restaurant in Manchester. The food was authentic, fresh, and full of flavour. Quick service and welcoming staff. The roast duck is a must-try – highly recommend!

An accidental find in Manchester China Town. However this is one of the best traditional Cantonese cusine I have had. Each dish is close to 9 out of 10 in my opinion. Portions are generous in comparison to London and much better value. The decor is morden and doesn't feel cramped. Great service from the friendly staff. Overall, well worth a try you wont be disappointed.

The food was absolutely delicious. Very Hong Kong style. Not western-Chinese food. The 'siu mei' (barbecued meat) was great (especially the barbecued duck). The deep-fried oyster was our favorite. Other dishes were outstanding too. If I have to say, my only comment was the food were a little bit salty (but still acceptable. In fact, my sister said they were just perfect. So it might be my problem). The service was not perfect, but I understood the two waiters had tried their best to serve all the tables. I won't blame them. I highly recommend this restaurant to the others especially the local British friends. You can find the real Hong-Kong-taste here.

I recently visited A Plus for Chinese food and it was an excellent experience. The service was friendly and efficient, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The highlight for me was definitely the Peking Duck perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great Chinese food with top service.

Society is a relaxed spot in Manchester that offers a variety of global street foods, craft beer, and cocktails. Situated near the Bridgewater Hall, it features a large lily pond that adds a touch of nature to the urban setting. The venue houses six different kitchens serving fast food favorites like pizza, burgers, sushi, Indian cuisine, and Korean fried chicken. Additionally, there's a cocktail bar and taproom by Vocation brewery.
We came at peak time on a Saturday and we're lucky to find some spare seats - it seems to be popular so bear that in mind. You can see why though, a variety of tempting food outlets and a massive bar with an array of craft beers available on cask and keg. Mainly from Vocation with a decent number of guests too. We ordered through the website and it worked really well. Both food and beer came promptly and delivered to the table. You can choose to approach the bar or food outlets in person if you so wish. I look forward to coming back it was really good. Food and beer top quality.

My friends and I visited this place on a peak summer sunshine Thursday early evening. We found a table right away despite it being busy (as expected) whilst people were taking advantage of the outdoor seating area. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! It has a great atmosphere, friendly and upbeat. Great background music too. Well worth a visit.

Great atmosphere and very busy. Really nice venue. Food came quickly but was very disappointing. I ordered from Slap and Pickle. Hans Solo burger with fries £13.50. I could not eat the fries as they looked and tasted awful. The burger was not much better and had several lumps of gristle.

Great place tucked away behind Bridgewater Hall. Good atmosphere, great outdoor area next to a fountain. We had food from Slap and Pickle and Manzoku. Food was great, good portion size and weve still not found anywhere else yet that beats Slap and Pickle for the best burgers. Staff at both places are lovely, helpful and friendly. Will be going back 😁

Young and hip place. Went there for lunch on a Friday. Not at all busy. Could imagine it would be hard to find room after working hours. Only tried the pizza but would highly recommend. At lunchtime the outdoor seating was in the shadows so bring a jacket if you are sensitive to wind.

Decent. An array of great vendors, something for everyone. Atmosphere very busy, very loud too. Definitely a place with more groups than couples. Service was fast and ordered through the QR code and the food came to the table. Do remember to bring ID, got asked for it upon arrival.

A lovely place to head to for a few beers, food was 50/50 (Might've been just a once off as it was quite busy). Definitely a place to stop by to enjoy a beer outside!

Love to go here with family and friends visiting Manchester. Great location and always a lovely vibe whether it’s for lunch or dinner. Food selection is great and so is the bar. Service can be a little bit slow if there’s loads of people but not ages and the staff as lovely!

Chinese restaurant
Noodle Alley, a Sichuan noodle and street food specialist, is nestled in a basement near Chinatown's iconic Chinese arch. The cozy spot offers an extensive menu featuring reasonably-priced dishes like braised pork belly and Sichuan dan dan noodles, known for their strong regional focus and hand-pulled noodles. Despite the limited space geared towards smaller groups, the restaurant serves up flavorful and spicy dishes that are different from the usual Chinese fare found in Chinatown.
Tucked away downstairs in Manchester Chinatown. Noodle Alley Came here with friends on a busy Saturday night. We were greeted by Wendy and our waitress for service was Jenny. Amongst all of us we loved the Chinese Vermicelli which is a thicker version of the standard vermicelli. Chicken based soup has a mild herbal flavour. The beef bones soup noodle came with service, Jenny showed a display of removing the meat off the bone with was very tender and cut the meat into smaller pieces at table side. We ordered two of these beef bones soup noodles which are a special and were very good. Highlight for all of us were the hand made prawn ball tomato soup vermicelli. Very tasty yet clean tasting and more of a delicate broth than a heavy tomato based. Also want to mention the prawn balls were wrapped in thin omelette which was improvised like a wanton skin ❤️ Twice cooked pork rice is also another highlight. The 9 square selection was a great way to try a variety of their food if you are visiting for the first time and everything was cleared up Chilli dumplings, very tasty, would've loved a bigger filling 🤤😬 Most surprising was the grilled vegan sheet. Chewy texture with vegetables, I didn't even realize it notice it was vegan. Only disappointment was the jelly sugar dessert. The sugar was burnt which could be tasted. After we informed the waitress she was very apologetic and they took it in board immediately! Fantastic service!

The food is amazing and delicious !! Saw a few people complaining about the food being a bit too spicy, but for me the spice levels were just fine ! Maybe some people can’t handle spice. My server told me you can always ask to adjust the spice levels of the food, which is convenient. The service was good, fast and the staff were pleasant. Their pork dumplings and Dan Dan noodles are AMAZING 🤩 10/10 I come here all the time. I found the chips spicier than the noodles.

I’ve totally fallen in love with Noodle Alley! The food is authentic Sichuan food, I beg you don’t be fooled by those “Sichuan” food most of Chinese takeaways do. REAL Sichuan food is full of layers flavours of spicy, sweet, umami (comes from fermented soya paste/pickled vegetables)tingling sensations( comes from Chinese pepper). The hearty food is definitely prepared with love. Also the service is warm and professional. The waitress recommended a osmanthus blossom soya milk drink with fermented rice. Now this special drink has become my favourite, it’s better than high street bubble teas!

Beautiful place in China town. Visited yesterday with 3 friends and we were all blown away by rhe place. Great service lovely atmosphere and the food.. oh the food is stunning we all had different dishes and we were all blown away. From the spices of some dishes, the sweetness of others all absolutely amazing. We paired it off with thier 9 dish sharing plate that took our taste buds everywhere. 4 mains 4 alcoholic drinks and a sharing platter for under £100. Mind blowing the quality they can provide

A true gem for authentic Sichuan flavours in Manchester, Noodle Alley (宽窄巷) is outstanding. Every dish was packed with bold, vibrant spice and that addictive Sichuan kick. The dumplings in chilli oil were perfectly soft with a rich, fiery sauce, while the rice noodles with sesame and peanuts were a standout, chewy, nutty, and layered with flavour. The beef noodle soup was hearty and comforting, with tender beef and just the right amount of heat. We also tried the wood ear mushroom salad, refreshing and crunchy with a sesame dressing.

Excellent noodles, so tasty, every dish is a treat. I’ve been twice this year and I don’t even live in the UK. Great staff too. Tip: don’t wear a white T-shirt unless you’re a very clean and careful eater.

Dropped by Noodle Alley in Manchester and really enjoyed the experience. The food had a real depth of flavour – the beef brisket noodle soup stood out as a highlight. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the broth was rich and comforting. That said, the spice level was a bit higher than I expected! Still, it didn’t overpower the dish, and the overall flavour was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient, and the vibe was casual but welcoming.

"Okay" across the board is probably the most apt description. I was quite surprised to find a Chinese restaurant in this area and it is very easy to miss, being situated above other businesses. The dim sum was the highlight of the affair but is somewhat on the pricey side. Potentially worth a try if local, otherwise if you have more time to go further out, it's most likely worth it.
Jake H — Google review
Booked two tables for a large group for a family baby shower, dim sum being a pre-requisite for the mummy to be. Dim Sum and then some, excellent quality and range of options. Mains were delicious and good size portions for sharing. Staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

The service could have been better, took a while to be served, but the food surely made up for that, as it was delicious! A table of 9 and everyone enjoyed every item ordered!

AMAZING place in Chorlton. We went as a group of 5 and every plate was delicious and the Margaritas were banging too. High quality Chinese food, in a gorgeous setting - the restaurant is classy with mood lighting just like the pictures online. The main meals are generous portions, we shared a mixture of starters and were beyond stuffed when we left. Great service with attentive and lovely staff. Top marks all round

One word of caution choosing this restaurant if you have any problem climbing stairs as it is located at the first floor. To qualify the above statement, I have severe COPD and need a walking stick so it was a taxing climb but worth the effort. We were visiting the area and chose this restaurant for dinner. We opted for the banquet, it was perfectly prepared and presented. Good food good portions good service would definitely return.

This place is a fantastic addition to Chorlton! It is an upmarket Chinese restaurant with high end decor, high quality dishes and fabulous cocktails: including my favourite twist on a French Martini. The food is to die for and the staff are very attentive and polite. This place is on another level compared to any other Chinese restsurants locally. My partner and I have been here twice now. We've had a mixed starter platter, egg sweetcorn soup, spare ribs, chicken curry, crispy chicken with honey and cashews and duck Pi Pa. Wow. None of them disappoint - get up those stairs and give it a go! 🙌

Wing Yip Superstore Manchester is a vibrant hub for Asian cuisine enthusiasts, conveniently located just a short stroll from the city center. This expansive supermarket boasts an impressive selection of Asian produce, including fresh meats like chicken, pork, and beef sourced from trusted local suppliers. You'll also find an array of frozen goods and specialty fruits and vegetables that are hard to come by in typical Western supermarkets.
They're always super friendly in there and have a wide range of selection, the fresh produce is slightly on the expensive side but it's normally good quality. They have a couple of unique vegan frozen things which I love! They also have toilets which is very appreciated as I always spend a lot more time in there than I should 😅
Zara S — Google review
This supermarket is quite expensive when compared to other two famous Chinese supermarkets. We seldom come here. But I can see some different products such as suckling pig and young pigeon uncooked one 🤣 I can’t find 蝦腸粉 and 簡水 here. I thought I bought them here before. We spent much money here today 😆 I think 90 mins free parking for shopping is definitely not enough especially we seldom come here. It really take time to walk around. I don’t have time to go to the storage area to check more products and hope we will have more time next time.
Emily L — Google review
It certainly is a very big Chinese supermarket that offers a wide range of Chinese products. In terms of live seafood, they do not offer services fit for an Asian customer like myself. We like to hand pick our food, especially seafood, we like to make sure that it’s alive and moving. I felt like the fishmonger deliberately turned his back and block our view while he put the brown crab in the bag while we told him we wanted a moving one. That felt like a sneaky move. There are other places with more variety of alive seafood in the city. Wouldn’t come back again
Chong C — Google review
Wing Yip Superstore in Manchester offers a wide variety of Asian and halal products, from spices and noodles to frozen food and fresh ingredients. It is a great place to find items that are hard to get in regular supermarkets. However, the location can be a bit confusing. Even though the store is near the highway, the main entrance is at the back, which makes it quite a long walk if you are coming on foot. Despite that, the product selection is impressive and worth the visit.
Siska M — Google review
Chinese institution in Manchester, they stock all kinds of Asian produce, there's also fresh chicken, pork, beef, fish, and lots of frozen produce. There's specialist fruit and vegetables, herbs, Chinese herbal stuff, medicine, and commercial stuff for takeaways, and restaurants. There's two floors of parking, the glamorous restaurant is on the first floor. Prices are very good, generally much cheaper than the supermarkets in Chinatown. Recommended.
Mister E — Google review
Really good store plenty of produce, I've only knocked it down 1 🌟 because of the parking though in fairness we went on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy.
Toby T — Google review
Large Asian food supermarket, has an excellent selection of.. Well everything! The fresh produce, meat and fish available you won't find in a western supermarket. Its on the pricey side if you're buying for yourself. It has a parking lot which is useful although a little tricky to maneuver. Everyone is in a hurry as if their lives depended on it!
Nath S — Google review
Fresh, tasty genuine dim sum and traditional Chinese food. More pricey than I was anticipating but I guess most restaurants are increasing as well. The grocery store on ground floor was massive. Tons of items as well as a wholesale section. I was hoping for a bakery (baos) or deli/cooked food section( BBQpork), but there is none.

The Tang Dynasty is a culinary gem that has captured the hearts of many food enthusiasts. While some diners have expressed concerns about the takeaway experience, it's clear that enjoying a meal in-house allows for a more delightful encounter with their diverse dim sum menu. The restaurant initially opened to much fanfare, complete with complimentary champagne and stunning decor, setting high expectations. Although there have been mixed reviews regarding service and presentation over time, many still rave about the authentic dishes bursting with flavor.
Absolute delight! The menu offers a great range of authentic dishes, which are full of flavour and beautifully presented. The ambience is stylish yet comfortable. Personally, for the starter, I ordered the Mixed Starter Platter, which I recommend. For mains, I got beef curry with a side of salt and pepper chips and egg fried rice, which was a brilliant combination with the curry sauce packed with flavour. Service was second to none. Overall, Tang Dynasty is a great addition to Hale and is well worth a visit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The restaurant decor is beautifully done — stylish and welcoming with a real attention to detail. The staff are incredibly attentive and genuinely go above and beyond to make you feel looked after. The food is absolutely stunning — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and leaves you feeling satisfied without that heavy, sluggish feeling. It’s easily the best Chinese in the village and gives off those classic “Man Zen” vibes from back in the day. Highly recommend — a real gem.

I can't say enough about the incredible service here! The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, making every visit a delight. The food? Absolutely fantastic! Each dish looks like a work of art and the ambience—oh my goodness—it's beautifully elegant with a touch of charm. If you're planning a night out, gather your friends and book the upstairs for a lively karaoke night! Or, if you prefer a more laid-back vibe, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere downstairs. I promise you an unforgettable welcome and exceptional service every time. Thank you all for yet another amazing meal! Can't wait to come back! 🙌✨

Had a great evening at Tang last night with a large family group. This is a new spot for us and we are so glad we found it. We booked in a later slot at 8pm so we could stay for the karaoke, our food came out prompt and was delicious. I had the salt and pepper chicken for starter and the steak in Cantonese sauce for main. Both were great! And up there with the best Cantonese I’ve had. And we eat out A LOT! The restaurant caters well for groups and for me it’s the little extras that make it. The bag hooks for your bag so you don’t have to rest it on your chair or the floor (fab) and the free round of drinks at the end for all of us was another great touch. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening and this is now a firm favourite for our family group! Thanks

STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE! Ordered online through deliveroo and expected much more for the £50 we spent. The food comes in fantastic packaging, but don't be fooled. The food itself is some of the most mid Chinese food I've ever had (and trust me I've had a lot). The chicken fried rice was extremely plain, with very beige looking chicken. The fillet beef noodles were also very bland. My girlfriend is the most disappointed she's ever been since the first night we spent together. Perhaps a better experience in the restaurant but would not recommend ordering this online at all.

Really cool place, decent food options and great beers on tap. Food is expensive for what it is but tastes great. Casual dining, order from the table and it’s either brought to you or you’re given a buzzer. Good place to meet before a gig or as a casual get together. Decor is cool, music is great too. As a music venue it’s one of my faves! Really unique with a 70s vibe about it.

This has quickly become my favourite music venue in the city. The building is well thought out and in pristine condition. The speaker quality and the acoustics are great. The bar is well stocked, reasonably priced and is quick to provide you with water when needed. Not only is the venue great but it is also well situated with an adjoining food hall and bars. Plenty of street parking and access routes in and out of the city. Amazing.

Had food at lunch time then saw band in the evening. Food was ok. A bit cold in there on a very stormy day. Also very noisy even though only half full. Event space upstairs is fabulous. Two great bands were on in the evening. Great security guys looking after everyone. The audience was a great mix of ages and all very respectful of each other. The sound was good. Easy view of the stage. Good air con. Good bar selection and quick service. Really enjoyed the evening.

Great venue. Staff professional, great set up for concerts, if anything it seemed a notch too loud in first rows (and yeah I can’t believe I’m saying that about a concert lol, but my ears were hurting a bit), great view on the stage from anywhere in the venue, proper clean toilets, drinks in reasonable prices. Overall I will be happy coming back for next concerts

Attended a gig at this location and it was fantastic. It was really easy to find, inside was easy to navigate as well. The venue was really accessible as well which is great. The staff were spot on and super friendly and helpful. I didn't have any food sadly but I felt like the drinks were well priced and service was wonderful as well. Overall, I had a great time and definitely would recommend this place for anyone wanted a fun night out. The only thing I felt that could be improved is simply making the smoking area a little bigger for the gig attendees.

I have been here many times and the food is still top quality. They do traditional dishes and taste much better than the quality you'd get in London. I would say this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Manchester. Special dishes to try are the hand pulled noodles and sweet and sour pork. The dim sum is also good here as well. Cosy, cool foodhall with interesting pop up restaurants! I went here recently to try out some of the food for a YouTube video. Much of my thoughts here and comments can be seen in the video on my channel: Ajeossi Life so please visit if you would like to see footage of the foodhall and what the food looks like close-up! Upon entering, you'll probably first notice that the area is a large open plan hall with dining tables and booths at one end, a bar at the centre and at the far end a convenience store. It's a very colourful place with plants everywhere, thanks to their onsite plant shop. It certainly adds to the atmosphere and makes it all very inviting. The convenience store is certainly well-stocked, particularly in the alcohol section! I ordered from Nasi Lemak which had a nice range of dishes to try. I tried the Sui Mai chicken dumplings and the Rempah curry fried chicken. The chicken was delicious although the dumplings fell short of expectations. They were not very hot and lacked flavour whilst the fried chicken was unlike any that I have previously tried. The best thing about the foodhall (apart from the staff who were lovely and patient) is the ambience. It's a great place to meet up with friends or even for work. Such a laid back and cool atmosphere. I'm looking forward to my next visit! Like I mentioned previously, be sure to visit my channel if you like food reviews as I'll endeavour to visit more places in and around the local areas of Manchester and further afield!

Stretford Foodhall. I stopped by for a coffee whilst running errands, the staff are friendly, latte art was on point and the decor was cool. They have zero waste items, vegan options and oat milk on tap! 4 stars because the music was a little too loud for the middle of the day which made it hard to converse.
Samuel E — Google review
I think this place is a great addition to Stretford Mall. The store is split into a few areas, the supermarket section is small but well stocked, with lots of interesting stuff like nice cheeses, great vegetarian stuff, fresh veg, ingredients and ready meals. Also a brilliant beer section. You can buy dry food stuff like beans, oats and weigh out as much as you need. There's fresh bread too from a local bakery, fresh orange juice machine and slushy machine. On the other side of the store there is space for 3 pop up food vendors. Today there was a pizza place, Thai food and churros. There is a bar attached and place you can buy coffees. Plenty of seating but it does get busy, but in our experience someone is usually happy to offer you a space on their table, and everyone can squeeze on 😊 in the corner there is a great selection of house plants for sale. Overall something really different and a great addition to stretford
Tim P — Google review
Very helpful and friendly staff, there were plenty of vegan and veggie options available. Some dishes were a little pricy for what you get but all around a very good experience. Would likely eat here again.

A nice relaxing atmosphere and a decent selection of food. I was pleasantly surprised by the craft beers that were available on tap and very reasonably priced. It's definitely worth a visit should you be in the Stretford area of Manchester.

Excellent foodhall with friendly staff. The Kincheese burger from the burger popup was amazing. The fresh squeezed OJ and the flat white were both spot on.

Lovely, friendly, welcoming & attentive staff could wish for better service. My teenage daughter is hooked on their Matcha coconut latte 😋. I'm trying to be good so stuck with a skinny cappuccino. The Salt & pepper chips 🍟 are lush so if can grab a portion you won't be disappointed.

Before placing an order, the person decided to read reviews and found that negative posts should not be trusted. They recommend ordering directly through the restaurant's website instead of using apps or delivery services. According to their experience, deliveries are usually early, drivers are friendly, and the food arrives hot. They have tried various Chinese takeaways in Manchester but always come back to New Gi Foo because the food is delicious and they cater well to dietary requirements. The portion sizes are also generous.
Looking for a takeaway close to Premier in. About 15 min walk. Well worth it and food still hot on return. Young chap serving was very pleasant too. Will defo return. 😃

Ordered the Munchie Box Deal, tasty food and amazing value. Perfect portion for 2 people. Staff were very friendly and helpful when ordering. Will definitely be making this our regular Chinese Takeaway
Thomas K — Google review
I ordered online and picked up and the food was ready within 20 minutes which was amazing ! we ordered chips, vegetable chow mein, beef with fresh broccoli, chicken wings in peking sauce and veggie spring rolls. the chips were pretty standard as were the spring rolls. we really enjoyed the beef and the chicken wings. the sauce the beef was in was delicious ! the chicken wings were floating in the peking sauce which we were a big fan of. the chow mein was a great sized portion and was pretty standard ! overall very happy and full :)
Zayb — Google review
Got a takeaway it was piping hot when I got it. Everything was so flavourful and delicious. The chicken in sweet and sour sauce was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The woman on the phone was so nice, I called to ask about complimentary prawn crackers which they normally don’t do but she did them for me! Will be ordering from here again.
Hayley F — Google review
I had one of the most shocking and unacceptable experiences at this restaurant. Not only was my order handled incorrectly, but when I calmly tried to resolve the issue, I was met with outright hostility. The woman working there became aggressive and tried to physically come toward me — it was so serious that her own family members had to hold her back. On top of this, the way she spoke to me made it clear that her behavior was racially motivated. No customer should ever have to experience racism or threats of violence when simply ordering food. I left the restaurant feeling unsafe, disrespected, and deeply upset. I would strongly caution anyone against going here until they take responsibility for this behavior and ensure no one else has to go through what I experienced.

Just ordered from here without ever trying it before. I can see a few negative reviews on here but please ignore! I live in the city centre and have access to so many restaurants and this is by far the best takeaway we’ve found so far! Everything arrived really fresh even though it had travelled a distance and the food was all delicious! Great portion sizes, value for money and flavour! Will definitely be back. Salt and pepper ribs are so hard to find and they’re my absolute favourite!
Suzannah M — Google review
The woman who answered the phone was pretty rude and hostile to start with. Ordered from here in the past and it was fantastic. Food I had tonight was awful. Threw up within an hour of eating half of what I ordered and currently can’t get off the toilet because everything has gone south. Would NOT recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Manchester, No.8 Hotpot is a delightful culinary destination that specializes in traditional hot pots and noodle bowls, alongside an array of dim sum dishes. This unpretentious eatery has garnered attention for its authentic flavors and diverse menu, featuring a plethora of ingredients from succulent meats to fresh seafood and vibrant vegetables.
This restaurant was perfect — absolutely everything was enjoyable. The welcome was warm, and the staff were attentive and genuinely listened to us. They gave us great recommendations and took the time to guide us through everything. The quality of the meat was top-notch, the presentation was beautiful, the vegetables were fresh, and the broths, rice, and especially the sweet potato noodles were excellent. The plum juice is homemade and absolutely delicious. It might seem a bit pricey, but it’s well worth it. There’s a 10% service charge (optional), and honestly, they deserve even more. I 100,000% recommend this place!
Océanne T — Google review
We visited this restaurant on Friday. It was a hotpot-only place, without any grilled options. The restaurant itself was very small, and unfortunately, once you left, your clothes smelled strongly of food. Before ordering, we asked for assistance to understand the menu and how the hotpot process works, as this was a different type of hotpot than what I’ve experienced before. When we were about to place our order, we even asked the staff if we were ordering too much food. The lady assured us that it was fine for two people and that we could always order more later if needed. However, it turned out we ordered far too much food, leaving a lot of leftovers, which felt wasteful. On top of that, the meal was quite expensive, and we felt the staff should have warned us about the portion sizes. The food itself was okay—nothing special to add.
Elle C — Google review
Amazing experience If you are looking for something traditional, this is the place. Do a bit of research about the hotpot idea as it can be a bit difficult for a first time. My favorites were the egg rice and the beef rolls. Highly recommend. Staff were really helpful and the food was fresh.
Darius C — Google review
Lovely food and great portion sizes. We initially ordered the Szechuan broth (despite the warning of our server) and felt it was too spicy, but they were more than happy to switch it out for a different broth. Would definitely visit again to try out some more of their offerings. The tender beef and enoki mushrooms were highlights for me.
Harry B — Google review
The food was great! The hotpot itself was a delicious broth and we chose beef and pork rolls with Chinese leaves and noodles. It was plenty for a big lunch for 2. With drinks and service the whole came to just under £60. It feels like a lot for lunch and not something I’d do every day, but the theatre of the steaming and bubbling hotpot and the dry ice that the pork came out with made for such an experience that all in all, with the atmosphere and the tasty food, it was worth it. It’s tucked away in an unassuming part of town, close to the universities and other Chinese restaurants. It felt authentic and there were plenty of Chinese folks enjoying a hotpot solo or with a friend, alongside other British groups and couples.
BallyBlighter — Google review
My boyfriend and I visit this restaurant every couple of months as a treat. This is by far my favourite restaurant in Manchester, the food is amazing, the actual cooking of the food is a really fun experience but most importantly the service is phenomenal. I’ve visited about 8 times now and have never waited more than 10 seconds for service, the waitresses and waiters are so on top of everything and very helpful for suggestions and how long to cook each item of food. We usually spend between £30-£50 between the two of us and have a loyalty stamp card that we use everytime we visit for a free item! Cannot recommend enough!
Robyn D — Google review
nice hotpot!!.. their lala soup is really good - garlicky seafood taste and perfect to match with meat.. veggies and mushroom.. just expect to smell like hotpot after dining..
Janna Y — Google review
The hotpot was really enjoyable, with a lot of delicious food options. The broth was so flavorful that I wanted to drink it all, which I almost did. However, the bill was a bit shocking for the amount of food we ordered. I would definitely recommend taking the broth with you as it is weighted in gold. Enjoy

Beautiful scenery. Friendly host. Fresh, quality tasty food. Pan-fried seabass was my favourite. My 2years old loved the dim sum dumplings 😋

Amazing Chinese restaurant for mind blowing soup! Definitely recommend their soup and fried rice. Food comes out quickly after order, which are hot and delicious as well. The salt and pepper ribs could have more flavours, but overall a restaurant worth visiting!
Hiu K — Google review
Looks like a fine dining place but they had some very authentic Chinese food here! I am very pleased with the service (one lad from Shandong Provence served us with lots of food knowledge and also be very patient). It’s a shame they don’t serve Beijing roast duck in lunch time but will definitely go back 🥰 Good service with something tasty, lovely environment to hanging out with friends, thank you!

Peace Garden exceeded my expectations. From the beautiful greenery interiors to the welcoming staff, it gives a lovely dining experience. If you're seeking an authentic Chinese feast paired with great and friendly service, I highly recommend visiting the Peace Garden, and don't forget to indulge in their Cantonese roast duck – it's an absolute must-try!
Indi F — Google review
I'd seen lots of positive reviews and recommendations for this place, which is right by my home and work, so I tried it with a friend. We arrived at 8pm and ordered the banquet. I wish we'd tried some of the specialty regional dishes, as the food in the banquet seemed lower-quality (watered-down hot and sour soup, which lacked spice and flavour and very dry duck). The portions were also on the small side for the price. The banquet was OK, not amazing, I would recommend individual dishes instead. The one thing that brought down the visit was the service, unfortunately. It was fine at first when we were served by the waitresses. But as it got later, the managers/owners took over serving us and were looking at their watches, taking our plates when we were in the middle of eating and cleaning up aggressively, etc. It turns out they were closing at 10pm, but they failed to mention that, rather they started moving our plates around and making us feel rushed. Hopefully they will work on their hospitality and prioritise customer experience to encourage revisits. This really let the whole thing down, but it's such a simple and free thing to get right.
Denise T — Google review
The seabass and the duck were standouts but I probably wouldn't get the prawns if I was to come back. One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to in Manchester but this does mean it isn't for everyone if you are used to more Westernised dishes.
Jake H — Google review
A lovely meal here. This is authentic Chinese food from a variety of regions including Beijing, Sichuan, Hunan and Guangdong (Canton), rather than higher-cost versions of takeaway food. Mao's braised pork was tender and balanced. The pork pancake was filled with plenty of juicy pork. The fried rice was fragrant and beautifully fried. Excellent sland friendly service. Also, the restaurant was decorated so beautifully.

Amazing Sichuan food. Good portion sizes, we’ve been here twice and have always had a good experience. Not too sure why there are so many negative reviews but i highly recommend coming here.
Candy K — Google review
The restaurant’s ambience is decent, WROST SERVICE EVER! However, one major downside significantly affected our visit: the restaurant has a strict policy against bringing in any outside beverages and requires customers to purchase drinks from their menu. This felt unnecessarily restrictive and disappointing, as it limits customer choice and adds to the overall cost. While the dining experience was generally acceptable, this policy makes it less likely that I would return or recommend the place. And the food hygiene is seriously bad. Avoid this! After I ate in this restaurant I got a diarrhoea problem! And the service attitude is so bad!
Kris — Google review
Worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to in all my visits to the UK. Food was acceptable, okay. Service was the absolute WORST. The staff barely spoke English or didn’t want to speak English. The cashier was rude and kept speaking Chinese to our Vietnamese companion despite being told she couldn’t understand. Paying for the bill was IMPOSSIBLE. We didn’t even know if we were paying correctly because it was HANDWRITTEN in Chinese. And when K asked for a copy of the receipt they couldn’t give me one, instead they just wrote everything down without putting the price per item and just put the total underneath. DO NOT ATTEMPT. WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Even to my enemies.
Nicole S — Google review
A famous Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Chinatown, recommending salt and pepper crispy pork and boiled fish. Di San Xian only has two types of vegetables, and the portion size of the potatoes is small.
Noora L — Google review
The food was okay, but the experience was disappointing. At this Chinese restaurant, we noticed that prawn crackers were given as a complimentary appetizer to all non-Chinese customers along with their menus. However, when we asked about them, we were told they had to be ordered separately and were charged for them. It’s unacceptable for any restaurant to treat customers unequally, but it’s especially disappointing to see a Chinese restaurant discriminating against Chinese diners. A place that should feel welcoming instead made us feel singled out.
Chengcheng K — Google review
Sichuan restaurant that offers two menus, one for "the English" and a more authentic "Chinese" one. We enjoyed a few dishes from the latter. The staff would not offer much help with the menu but we mostly chose well for our British tastes. But beware even the "mild spicy" dishes are hot! Overall we enjoyed the meal and it was excellent value for money at £25 per head.
Alain S — Google review
Delicious food in the heart of china town. Quite possibly the most sensational green beans I have ever eaten in my life, cooked with pork mm yum!! Service was a little odd, as in how our dishes were delivered, but it didn’t affect our experience at all. Certainly would have loved to taste more of the menus delights.
LiziiBear — Google review
Do NOT recommend!! This one middle aged waiter kept pressuring us to order our food, and kept coming over to us 3 times after telling him that we need some time to read the menu, acting so annoyed of us. 😠Customers are here to enjoy the food, those were some very RUDE behaviours PLEASE DO YOUR JOB RIGHT

The ambiance features typical red and gold decor, complete with quirky bronze aluminum seating that adds to its charm.
Absolutely amazing. This is the best Chinese restaurant in this area and I would go as far as saying it's the best in Manchester. The flavor of the food is outstanding and it's always cooked perfectly and always hot. The customer service is on point. The lady on the phone is so polite and respectful, which makes the experience a lot better because it shows they care. They always give free prawn crackers and spring rolls. I cannot complain. If you haven't tried this place, do it ASAP. Ignore the star rating; it's irrelevant. This place is a 10/10. We've tried hundreds of Chinese takeaways over the years. I hope this place is around for a long time because we would be sad to see it go or change owners. Thanks, Happy Seasons! 👍

We have been using this takeaway for a good while and never had such disgusting food as we did tonight, so much to say £32 in the bin, the chips were rock hard definitely been re cooked the rice was dry the ribs were that tuff and could get the meat off the bones the salt and pepper chicken was so hard and old it was truly disgusting, I rang the takeaway and was told they are new potatoes, I told him not to insult my intelligence they were at least a day old. The food was only warm. The whole takeaway was disgusting, never again would we order from there.

I have used this takeaway for years, left good reviews (now deleted) and recommended them to others. Tonight, I ordered via their website and spent £14.60. After waiting for the food, I rang and they said they hadn't received my order. I went to the restaurant with my son and showed them transaction on my banking app. Despite admitting that they had issues with the system and told us not to use it to order, they refused to refund my money or give us the food we had ordered. The owner was extremely rude and arrogant, talking over me when I tried to speak. Have raised it with my bank but won't be using this place or recommending it 😡

Reasonably priced and decent quality place for your British Chinese style scran. The set meals are good value for the classic sweet and sour chicken, duck pancakes etc... If you fancy an authentic chinese, this isnt it, but if you just want to dive into a prawn cracker covered in sweet sauce, meat, and rice (at a reasonable price) this is your place, ace. The staff are all really lovely.

Ordered food at 7.30pm for a delivery 10 mins away. Delivery due at 8.30pm. Called at 9pm to find out where the order was and told it was out for delivery. Called at 9.30pm to find out where order was told it had just gone out 2 minutes prior. When the food did arrive it was not of a quality I would ever want to try again. The fried rice was a starchy, clumpy mess. The sweet and sour had a watery consistency and lacked any flavour as did the lemon chicken. The noodles were fine, but it would be difficult to mess them up. The grilled dumplings were cold and tasteless. The prawn crackers were stale. The curry sauce had two random mushrooms in it and again was watery and completely tasteless. It was probably the second worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had, the first being dumplings that were frozen in the middle, so would take some beating. You could not pay me to eat from there again. Bizarre how they have such good reviews.

Thought we would try this place again as close to home. Sorry we bothered ! Had chicken fried rice, not at all tasty and chicken in rough chunks! Great food, reasonable price for the very high quality, fresh ingredients - e.g. the chicken in the dishes was the highest quality chicken meat I’d ever seen used by a Chinese takeaway. Nestled in Moss Side, SpicySpace is a cozy spot that beckons adventurous food enthusiasts. The English menu may seem limited, but with a bit of ingenuity (and the help of Google Translate), a world of home-style North Eastern Chinese dishes unfolds. From beef brisket rice to double-cooked pork slices and bubbling hotpot soups with lamb bones, there's an array of tantalizing options to explore.
We had the sweet and sour potato shreds, the twice cooked pork and the spicy brisket rice and it was all amazing. North east crispy meat looks great too so definitely having that next time. There is an english menu but we used google translate on the chinese menu and it worked perfectly to get to the specialties, apart from some slightly off translations. Will be returning again tomorrow :)

The food here is quite nice, but there aren’t enough tables and seats, which makes the dining experience quite uncomfortable. The prices are also on the higher side, so it doesn’t feel very good value for money. Plus, they only accept cash, which is quite inconvenient. Overall, it’s a decent place, but there are definitely some drawbacks.
Kris — Google review
Despite what some of the reviews say, this was some of the best northern Chinese (Dong Bei) food I’ve had in Manchester!! The aesthetic of the place is very true to the vibes in China, some might not like it as it’s just plastic chairs and metal tables but it felt very nice and nostalgic. The food was incredible, so much flavor, good portion sizes! Not the cheapest ever but for the quality of food I’ll come back any day. My favorite is the runner bean bean noodles and the stir fried pig intestines. The menus are only in Chinese so it might be a little difficult for people who don’t speak Chinese, but the staff all speak English and google image translate exists, so it shouldn’t be too hard to navigate! The place doesn’t have too many tables so make sure to go early! :)

very rude and bad attitude of the front desk. Extra 10% for card payment. Then the front desk staff replied with the misleading and distort fact, which reflects the aggressive attitude again. Fully version of the conversation recorded. No bias on the food.
