The 43 best spots for dim sum in Cape Town Central

This is hands down one of my favourite spots in Cape Town. Expect small super tasty portions so you’ll need to order quite a number of plates depending on your appetite. Sharing plates works best in my opinion! Kinda feels like an alley way gem you’d stumble into off the streets of a bustling Asian city.

I highly recommend coating this Cape Town gem regularly- I don’t have any photos of my food to share because it was all so good I was only focused on eating it. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can walk in - they are always fully booked - and we know why ; exceptional food served by the owner who’s taste of 80’s music hasn’t changed at all. Fabulous !

Overpriced. Food and atmosphere were pretty much ok. Waiter was friendly But there were 9 dumplings and cold tea for 15$ I think it could cost 2 times cheaper

Visited yesterday and was a bit disappointed. Prices have clearly increased since a year ago, dumplings went from R60 to R90, and short ribs from R110 to R180. We didn’t have the short ribs this time, but the prawn laksa from the specials menu (R190) was watery and bland. Dumplings tasted fine but felt small for the price, something like 6 for R120 or 12 for R180 would feel fairer. Service was friendly, but being asked to add a 10% tip for the “experience” felt a bit much considering the portion sizes and overall value. Overall, the food didn’t justify the cost, and I hope they adjust portions or flavor in the future.

This is a quaint restaurant on the top of king street that offers a range of dumplings on their permanent menu and a selection of Chinese street food, usually rice or noodle based that changes weekly. The food is incredibly fresh and cooked from scratch in the kitchen that you can see from most seats. The staff there is extremely friendly and warm. I have tried most things on their menu and the prawn and pork dumplings really stood out to me. I have visited them three times already and definitely will be back!

We love to visit the Dim Sum Bar. The menu is short but I think it helps for the food to arrive really quickly. And all dishes are tasty, specifically their dumplings. We tried all dumplings on the menu , the meaty filling and the vegetarian ones. Fabulous! And so was the ice cream dessert. The wine list might be small, but it fits the menu and the restaurant. If there is one criteria… the chairs or benches are not the most comfortable ones and once the meal is done, one is ready to leave. But it’s a busy restaurant and it might be this way on purpose. Nevertheless a great place for Asian dumplings & more.

First of all, the food is so savory and good. The sauces matches perfectly and they also have a variety of wine, sake and spirits. The place itself feels very authentic, it has a chill nice vibe and the decoration is very minimalistic yet captures the eye. I enjoyed the food so very much, as a vegetarian I had only a few options yet they all were really good. Don’t miss the Turnip Cakes or the salted caramel ice cream! Both are amazing!

I don’t know what happened in the kitchen on that day, but I unfortunately won’t be visiting again. I’m wildly suprised by all the great reviews and stars, as that’s why we chose Haiku as our restaurant of choice. - made a reservation with a staff member, when we arrived no one was informed. But this was not even a problem because it was quiet, so we got seated easily. - lighting is so dark. It feels like 11pm in there. - food took so long to arrive - ordered the 12 piece sushi platter for R300: it was a disaster. There was more rice than fish, the fried sushi was so hard because it wasn’t coated in tempura batter, ginger looked a few days old, the assortment was a joke (2 salmon roses, 2 tuna nigiri, 4 over fried tuna California roll, 4 tuna and Salomon California roll) the water said there was prawn but we didn’t get any in our platter. - it was a very quiet Sunday, only our table and another table of 4 to look after. Our waiter was giving ‘not interested’ to be at work on that long weekend. Not disrespectful, but just super lethargic and whatever. Took so like to bring the cutlery and the bill. - prawn toast would have been so tasty but way too salty. - The tuna tacos for R195: the tacos were extremely oily. The tuna was great, a bit stingy with the guac. - this seems to be a high end restaurant, so note that the sushi and dim sum come in quantities of 2/3/4/6 and it’s unspecified on the menu! I wanted to order noodles and the duck but after the mediocre food and service we called it a night. Went home unsatisfied.

Was debating between going to a less high end place but chose this because I liked the exterior. Inside is gorgeous and the service was good but food wasn’t anything special. We got lots of dim sum and one wok- the Vegs didn’t have much taste we needed to add some salt and we also ordered the spicy prawn and chili oil chicken dim sum. The chicken one was better and the food was fine but again, nothing to rave about. I’m sure the hole in the wall would have been a bit more authentic but alas

Incredible quality Asian fusion food: Japanese, Thai and Chinese. The dumplings were so popular with all 7 of us. We enjoyed superior quality sushi, fresh and flavourful. The coconut rice was outstanding with the Kung pao curry. Do not miss out on the cheesecake. We shared that delicious desert. If you need special dietary advice only accept advice from the management. Great gluten free options available.

Was welcomed with a smile Atmospere was that of a fine dining restuarant . Our Waiter Brydon recommended our dishes which was spot on with his selections . He was friendly and very helpful. Food was great would recommend to anyone to visit this place for a fine dining experence and would definately return .

Loved it. The quality of food was wonderful and fresh, every bite was tasty and well presented. Service was very good and attentive, we enjoyed the ambiance which is romantic and comfortable lighting. We ordered tapas style to try as much as we can and we’re were pleasantly surprised every time. Food kept coming and it was wonderful.

Enjoyed a celebratory lunch on Heritage day. Enjoyed a glass of Chenin with crispy duck salad, followed by the Haiku sushi platter and angry duck with egg fried rice. Excellent as always!

After reading about HeSheng we went for lunch. What a wonderful gem. You need to look carefully as it has a small entrance. The service was very friendly. We started with the famous Xiao-Long Bao. It’s small bao’s filled with pork and a soup. It is really good. Then we had the prawn noodle. There was actually a decent amount of prawn in the dish. We also had the black bean beef - very authentic flavour. I can definitely recommend HeSheng

We had the pork & leek fried dumplings and the pork soup dumplings — both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, fresh, and so satisfying. Definitely recommend HeSheng if you’re craving authentic dumplings

This is the best Chinese food I've had in Cape Town. Those beef potstickers are insanely delicious and the mapo tofu remains my favourite Chinese dish.

We were excited to try out Hesheng after a recommendation and it did not disappoint! We ordered the beef flank soup (highly recommended!), soup dumplings, steamed vegetables, fried rice and a few other delicious dishes. Every item was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional. The gentleman who assisted us was incredibly warm and knowledgeable he even shared a bit of background on each dish as it was served. There was barely any wait time our food started arriving within 5 minutes. A real hidden gem in Sea Point if you’re after authentic Chinese food with top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back!

Went for dinner with family after we decided to go to Sea Point to watch the sunset. Food was lovely with the only exception being when the chef made a mistake by putting a specific ingredient in which we do not eat into a dish, we told the waiter and they took it in but only just picked out the specific ingredient and gave it back to us instead of making a completely new dish. Otherwise, the dumplings and the noodles were delicious. Little overpriced for the experience and for the food we had, but will definitely go a little earlier next time when they not so busy and try again. Til next time...

Food and the cocktails are very good. Unfortunately all the waiters were super annoyed and brought the bill even if we still had our food on the table and didn’t finish … don’t know why they put us under stress, because it wasn’t that late and there were many other guests.

A very modern pub style Cafe to enjoy Asian street food. Very delicious bao. I had the duck bao and hubby had the pork in black fried rice. Delicious but a bit on the salty side for us. Would love to try their other interesting dishes.

Great little spot in Houtbay with awesome asian dishes, the decor is very nice especially the back garden. We had the bao’s - they were great (just a little bit on the smallish side) . Awesome vibe.

Very good cocktails (try Wild Turkey Plum Sour & Passionate Buddha) and amazing food. We had bao buns with duck as appertizers (so so good), ramen burger and crispy chicken (super super crispy) as mains. The portions are sizeble and we couldn't eat everything.

Cosy and relaxed atmosphere, with a small but versatile menu. Only seats 8 inside at the bar and a small table outside. The bao, ramen fried chicken and lucky dog are all excellent! Get a bunch of things and share with friends, so you can try as much as possible. Friendly staff, fantastic wine menu and very reasonably priced.

I stumbled on this undiscovered gem right in our neighboorhood. Everything was just so yummy. The waitress did an ok job, could have been better. However, the food more than made up for it. This was one of the best mouth-watering burgers I've had grace my taste buds in a long time. After my meal, I was knocked into a food coma. I would eat here every day if I could afford it!

The Wakame side dish was refreshingly tasty combining the sourness of the pickled seaweed and rice wine vinegar with the sweet sesame oil and sesame seeds and the hint of soy and yakaniku. The Ba Mee fried black rice toned down the saltiness of the double fried pork belly, which was a bit too salty for my taste. My wife ordered the Bird Bao - sticky pulled duck with Fuji apple jam in a teriyaki sauce. Also a bit too salty for her tastes Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We will be back to try their ramen.

We went for Sunday lunch to try out the Chinese food. We ordered the Udon Noodles - vegetarian, Stir fried tofu and the Szechuan beef noodle. Everything was just way too salty and the sauce wss thick and stodgy - not very authentic Chinese cooking. The Shialong Bao pastry was too dry - it lacked the moistness. Portion size is good. The waitresses were all very friendly and the decor was comfortable. I read all the great reviews, but sadly Linko missed the mark for us.

Went on a whim from a online review about sushi pizza. Mistakes were made. No such option exists, just made for the video. The fried sushi was great but the other dishes were underwhelming. Atmosphere is ok, there are better.

This is was my 2nd time visiting. I will say the food is always fresh, made with love and the potions are generous. First time I went my partner and I had mainly sushi and we were both satisfied, came home with full tummies. This time round us ladies had meals and they did not disappoint. 10/10

The best Xiao Long Bao and BBQ Pork Buns I’ve ever had! This has become my go to Dim Sum restaurant. I also leave with my craving satisfied! 10/10, no notes.

Food was great. Service was efficient. We ordered from the waiters suggestions and we were not disappointed. Veg options are glorious. Cost is effective, you can eat for R100 or R200, it's up to you. Seating is limited so come on time but it's a nice place. Feels like a friend's hangout spot. I didn't ask about WiFi. Oh and the food came out quite quickly even though it was busy.

I was a guest at a 21st birthday celebration for my niece in the private dining area. Intimate space, stunning view of the docking area. Fireplace was stunning and kept the room at a cozy temperature as it was raining and cold on the day. Menu was a set 3 course meal. It is halaal friendly, and you could choose which from the options listed. Portions are enormous and filling. Each course was served at the same time, food was hot, nobody left waiting on their serving, and the food was mouth-watering delicious. Waiters were friendly and efficient. Serving and clearing with ease. Beautiful venue, stunning views, delicious food and great company contributed to an unforgettable 21st celebration.

Went for the sushi and dim sum. It was really good and I would definitely recommend. However, the drinks tasted more of a mocktail than a cocktail. Reasonably priced especially considering its location and pretty view of the port. Should they keep up to this standard I will definitely be visiting again.

We hosted a function for my client for 250 guests at Beluga and I was blown away. With a last-minute confirmation, every detail and request was handled to perfection. Fantastic good and even better friendly, helpful staff. Lizaan is an absolute GEM and made my life 10 times easier than it should have been! Whether business or afterwords drinks or a celebration for any reason give Beulga a try!

Great service! I visited on Thursday, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed since it wasn’t too busy. I tried the couple’s special — the options were a bit limited, but the prawn starter was excellent.

After visiting the local distillery thought I’d check out the local markets. Very interesting with some local craft work and unusual souvenirs. Also local and multi cultural food on offer as well as clothing, fruit, cured meats etc. I really loved some of the metal sculptures outside. Good to chat to several of the local stall owners. Great vibe! Most vendors prefer cash but cards and tap pay are available. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas and tables and the outdoor area has a great view of the mountains. Really worth a visit if you are in the area. Had some great oysters and calamari at Seabar❣️

The Hout Bay Harbour Market is charming. It has everything you need for a wonderful breakfast or lunch. A wide selection of sweets and pastries. Craft beer, cured meats, and fresh pizza are also available. You can also buy clothing, leather accessories, and jewelry. The atmosphere is very cozy, safe, and relaxing.

This market has some local craft work and unusual souvenirs. Also local and multi cultural food on offer as well as clothing, fruit, cured meats etc. I really loved some of the metal sculptures outside. There are both indoor and outdoor seating areas and tables, and the outdoor area has a great view of the mountains. That said, I took the bus and the trip took about an hour and a half. In all honesty, compared to how small the market actually is, I didn’t feel it was worth the long journey. If you have a car, it might be more convenient and worthwhile. But if you're relying on public transport, be prepared for a lengthy trip for what is ultimately a brief visit.

If you looking for a good old fashioned fish n chips. This is the spot. However they changed their chips and it just doesn't do the same job, my personal opinion. Nothing fancy. You have to have zero expectation and just go with the flow. Nothing fancy. Excellent prawns and calamari and snoek and best hake.

As a start a very concealed entrance to the indoor market - that needs some work. Once inside you feel relaxed. The pizza was good. Expensive if you go gluten free. Really nice vibe though and a small outdoor section to sit and eat/chat if you want to be outside. Chaotic parking scene - have your wits about you. A nice place to meet friends. Closes 4pm on Saturday.

Not our first trip to the Market, as we visit every time we're in South Africa. There's something for everyone here, from jewellery, clothing and homewares to that holiday souvenir and more. Art work, the local Hout Bay distillery and various outlets serving delicious food means you can happily spend a few hours here, especially when there's live music.

FANTASTIC BURGERS - especially, the chicken burger, which competes for best chicken burger in Cape Town. NO LONGER SERVING ALCOHOL, which accounts for the lost star - a burger needs a beer, right? No review on fries, because they weren’t available for some inexplicable reason (only sweet potato fries ??) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Bucket list tick that doesn’t impress much. I came for the burgers and stayed for the milkshake. The atmosphere is casual and quaint with windows showing the bustling Long Street outside. My waitress was left in charge of my burger and milkshake. The MS was a lemon meringue and it was amazing. Tart and sweet at the same time. Pity about the environmentally destructive doubly straws though. The burger came quickly with cold sweet potato chips which were sent back and replaced with a piping hot set. Of course by this time the burger was cold... it was not a big burger. Very much a thinnish patty with a lot of dressing on it. It was ok. The milkshake was great. First time. Last time

I really enjoyed my lunch in this restaurant. The burger was really tasty and juicy, also the choice of sauces which have been added matched perfectly. I would recommend ordering the frozen lemonade it tasted really refreshing and good. Great place!

Veg burger is amazing... the beetroot +Feta combination is amazing... but it's not their specialty to get the best shaken margarita... Vibe is very cosy and cute for couples or intermit friends of max 4.

I got some chicken burger and sweet potato fries and a large strawberry milkshake (non. Vegan one). I got the burger with pineapple which is a weird combination but it worked well, credit to the chef. The sweet potato fries were lacking taste. Even with salt they were still a little bland. The milkshake was excellent. Truly very thick and could definitely work as a meal itself for those with small stomachs. Overall, the place loses a star because of the fries. Otherwise, it's a good place for burgers and shakes with lots of options for meat eaters and vegan folks.

Possibly the best milkshakes you can get in Cape Town. Atmosphere is cozy and service is friendly and relaxed. Large selection of burgers and options to create your own pizzas. Huge variety of deluxe milkshakes with extraordinary flavours.

I am surprised at the negative reviews about the Vegan and Vegetarian burgers. I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed by the vegan cheeseburger or the vegan do it burger. Meal size is generous even for a big guy and the ingredients, especially the garnish, is good quality and fresh! "milk" shakes are also outstanding.

I absolutely love this place. It gets quite busy but that's only a testament to how good the food is. I'll come back for the cheesecake ice-cream as many times as humanly possible, I'm obsessed. They have some of the most delicious pizza flavors and so many other food options from shwarmas to falafel balls. It has ample sitting areas including a very quiet and cozy 1st floor sitting area.

If you're coming to Cape Town, make this your first stop! It's great in every way - the food, value, variety, and vibe are all top-notch. Even when it's super busy, the service is pro-level, with wait times under 30 minutes. Whether you're on a tight budget or splurging for a family gathering, this spot delivers. Different delicious cuisines are available. Moderate price and quantity is good for more than a person like me! Kebab, wraps and little indian dishes are available. Turkish wrap was delicious, Ice-cream corner was a good number of mixtures.. Spacious!!

Fun Fact: This restaurant is featured in the Denzel Washington movie Safe House! The first thing that hits you when you walk into Eastern Food Bazaar is the smell of warm spices. The space is a long tunnel with food prep on the one side and seating on the other. You can sit wherever you'd like once you get your food. I ordered three vegetable samosa and a chicken schwarma wrap with chips. I was surprised by the generous portion of meat (much more than you'd get from a franchise like Anat or Mi-Vami), and doubly impressed at how masterfully the employee was able to fold in all the salad and toppings I requested! The wrap was very tasty, and was so big that I ended up taking almost half of it home for left-overs.

A really incredible venue-right on the water, good food and drink and great music. I had the chance the see Black Coffee who had a summer residency there. Security can be tight, but overall very helpful and friendly staff. Get a table if you can afford it, so much easier and worth it!

Simply love everything about it... From the amazing food to the incredible view. I once took my very busy toddler along during daytime, and he was well taken care of in the comfortable play area, with its own designated child minder. I was super happy with that experience.

Very beautiful place. Was just at the lounge side. The cocktails were unique and delicious. There is a pool outside. And over the wall you can see the beach. Seating inside and outside. The deserts are limited but also unique and delicious. Enjoyed the experience. Would like to go there when there is a party going on.

Higher end place so the prices are a bit higher here compared to Long st tourist area but the food, service and view make up for the price. We had the Benedict burger and chicken ceaser. Both were delicious in their own right. The Benedict burger was awesome. Juices from back bacon and perfectly cooked egg flowed with the flavor. Was surprised at the amount of meat in the ceaser. Bacon and chicken in abundance as well as anchovies. If you like lots of meat it will please you. If you are looking more for the greens it might be a bit much. Good value for your money. Sometimes a few extra rand is worth it to get quality food, service and view.

Beautiful venue with a view to die for. Great place to relax as the sun sets over Cape Town whilst listing to Dj's spinning some great dance music. The security on entering the club can be a cultural shock, with the heavy armed guards placing a damper on the mood somewhat. However the atmosphere does change later as some patrons do over indulge a bit to much. Don't forget to take a sweater as the wind can get chilly.

When I’m in Cpt - i always want to hang in the sun for a while- reading, just chilling with a view and on a cozy sun bed. Caused by the wind it’s often hard to find a beach to lay down without being peeled by the sand constantly. The only place where you can stay in the sun when it’s that windy is this beach club. It’s a bit fancy but not too much. I love the service, the view, reasonable prices and the modern atmosphere. The beach menu is perfect, the drinks as well. Dinner is also food. Love the dumplings :) I would recommend that place ❤️

The food and drinks were great, although a little overpriced. However this is mitigated by the fact that the club is free to enter. One of the pools however was too dirty to even dip your feet in which spoiled the experience slightly. Luckily the club has multiple pools so if we were desperate to swim this would still have been possible

Wang Thai at Lagoon Beach offers an authentic Thai dining experience with stunning views. Master chefs prepare flavorful dishes using fresh, imported ingredients. Standouts include the Angry Wok and vegetable spring rolls. The upmarket ambiance, exceptional service, and high-quality cuisine make it a worthwhile treat for Thai food enthusiasts in Cape Town.

My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday, we enjoy both our mains, really good authentic Thai food. We decided to also try the corn cakes as well as dessert. They went out of their way to make the day special for me. Apart from that service was good. If you are vegetarian or vegan this place has many options including a dessert option. We will definitely make another trip here in the future.

What a beautiful Thai restaurant. The food is authentic. The ladies enjoyed another beautiful outing. My favorite dish was the softshell crabs and the authentic Thai salad. The drinks were good,we had a couple, we couldn't choose. If you are looking for beautiful views by the sea, really good food, this is the place to be.

We went to Wang Thai again last night, I wish to extend my Gratitude to Joshlyn, Mikaela, Sia, Dimples and Neville for a great evening, also to our favorite Chef Uncle 🙏 we had an amazing time ❤ Wang Thai exceeded our expectations during our visit with our parents who were first-time diners of authentic Thai cuisine. The overall experience left all of us in awe and grateful for the impeccable service. The Thai Green Seafood Curry, Thai Green Beef Curry, Thai Massaman Prawn Curry, and the Wok Fried Chilli & Cashew with Tofu were all exceptional, served alongside perfectly cooked Jasmin Rice. Without a doubt, Wang Thai stands out as the supreme Thai restaurant in town, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit! 🥰

Myself and three friends went to Tjing Tjing for cocktails and dinner. I had been to the restaurant a couple of years back - good, but not blown away. HOWEVER, our experience last week was absolutely fantastic! Every cocktail was phenomenal! The food, outstanding! We shared a variety of plates - buns, dumpling, wings, pickles, wedges, and more. Thank you Tjing Tjing! We will definitely be back soon.

Had an intimate date night at Tjing Tjing House. The ambience set the scene, service was impeccable, the food arrived quickly and was incredible. Best edamame and mochi in Cape Town! There were lots of vegan and vegetarian options on offer. I would recommend ordering a minimum of 4 - 6 dishes to share between 2 people. I can't wait to be back and sample more delicious treats! We swinged by Tjing Tjing House for a quick lunch before first Thursdays. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food was incredibly( I had chicken dumplings) and the cocktails were just as good. All-in-all I’d really recommend visiting here but do make a reservation as seating can be quite limited. I can’t wait to come back dor the roof-top area!

Honestly impeccable service and seriously delicious food! We went to Tjing Tjing House on First Thursday and were pleasantly surprised to find a drink special - 2 drinks for R180, which was such a great deal. The portions might look small, but don’t be fooled, they’re super filling and packed with flavour. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, and the staff are warm, attentive! Whether you’re there for dinner or just a few cocktails on the rooftop, it’s a top-tier experience. Definitely a must-visit spot in Cape Town, especially on a first Thursday night!

Exceptional experience! Amazing and tasty food. The venue is multi-floor and caters to any event. We had a tour after thanking the chef personally and really enjoyed it. If you have not been there, you have to go! We had a three course meal but forgot to take photos of the other dishes (it was soooo good)

While Skeptical at first, the dining experience was a lot nicer than i was expecting. The food was good, but the prices are a bit steep. They were also sold out on quite a few of the popular choices such as ramen and most chicken dishes which greatly limited out choice of what we could get. Due to the steep price and being sold out, giving the food and service 4/5 stars but would be willing to try it again when they have all the items back in stock.

3.5 - good if you’re looking for a Thai fix! The curry and pad thai was decent but i thought there could’ve been more curry (it was slightly dry) and the food could’ve been hotter. Also felt the service was pretty lukewarm- no smiles, passion and everyone moved rather slowly given the place was less than half full

Our first Simply Asia experience and it was worth the wait. We were told by the friendly waiter that this is the very first Simply Asia as well. He recommended the 514 and wow were we blown away. Would definitely recommend this place if you are wanting to try some Asian cuisine.

As newly weds and recent residents of Cape Town, my wife and I are eager to explore this beautiful city and the delicious food there is on offer. Last weekend we visited Simply Asia in Heritage Square and were treated to a phenomenal experience. We invited friends to join us and chose to indulge our palates in an array of dishes off the menu. The friendly staff were on hand to guide us through the various options and hone down on our taste preferences. From the starters to main meals, each dish was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. Every dish was an explosion of flavour and unique in it's taste. The simple yet delectable desserts was the perfect ending to a truly lovely dining experience. The manager, Dirk, was very welcoming and always at the ready to attend to anything we wanted. We were also lucky to be visited by the owner who spent time chatting and making us feel ever so comfortable and welcomed. Very knowledgeable of his business and a true Simply Asia Enthusiast. A warm and special touch that really enhanced the experience for us. All in all, one of the best experiences thus far for these 2 new Capetonian Foodies. Will most definitely be a favorite to return to.

I had the beef linguine dish, which was a 10/10, and my friend had the beef fried rice (it doesn’t look as appealing in the photo trust me, but it tasted good according to my friend so 🤣) We also got some ice cream for dessert , which I also enjoyed. Our waiter, I think her name was Promise if I remember correctly, was the sweetest person ever. Thank you 🌸🌸🌸

Went to Tai Ping with my husband on Valentines day and I have it say their food are out of this world. Bae and I are definitely going back. Not only was the food great but the aesthetics and waiters were out of this world. Wow wow wow it's a 10/10 for me ma'am. I love love that place.

Tai Ping offers the most authentic Cantonese Cuisine in Cape Town. They have the perfect comfort food and a welcoming atmosphere. They also have a Online Grocer for sauces that are difficult to get in normal supermarkets. They also have the best instant egg noodles and offer Jasmine rice 😍 my favourite is definitely their honey garlic chicken and sweet corn fritters. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for their specials as well.

Delicious Chinese food. Very authentic and doesn't have that oily taste like some others I've tried. Was great for taking my family out and portion sizes were very good. Would highly recommend if you're after some great food, the sweet and sour pork was especially delicious 😁

Enjoyed the experience ,however the menu could do with better variety, was the usual typical simple offerings & the dessert menu was not appealing. The seafood dish I tried could have been much better if fresh fish was used, not frozen. The beef dish was better.

Having visited Nando's numerous times before, I decided to go to their Long Street branch during a recent weekend outing. As always, the food lived up to my expectations of deliciousness, but the overall experience left something to be desired. It was my first time visiting this branch. Upon entering, I was impressed by the clean and tastefully decorated interior. There was plenty of comfortable seating options. The availability of a handwashing station was a thoughtful touch. It was oddly warm inside the store, maybe not the best ventilation. There is WiFi. A hiccup came when placing our order. While the menu is fairly straightforward, the staff member at the till seemed a bit confused. We simply requested a pulled chicken wrap with cheese and a normal plant-based wrap, each with a side of chips. Unfortunately, the order was repeated back to us incorrectly, resulting in some confusion. After clarifying our preferences, we proceeded to wait for our meal. Thankfully, the wait wasn't too lengthy, and our food arrived promptly. But alas, there were still some issues. Both wraps ended up being served with cheese, despite our specific request for only one to have cheese. Additionally, only one of the wraps came with a side of chips, indicating a slip-up in the order. While we should have double-checked the order slip to ensure accuracy, it was disappointing to encounter these errors nonetheless. The food itself was as tasty as ever, showcasing Nando's signature flavors and quality ingredients. One thing I particularly appreciate about Nando's is their commitment to offering excellent vegan and vegetarian options, catering to a diverse range of dietary preferences. In conclusion, while my experience at Nando's Long Street had its ups and downs, the flavorful food and welcoming ambiance make it a great fast food restaurant. I’ve wanted to visit Ben Wei since last year (‘24), & when the opportunity finally presented itself, I jumped. The restaurant is a juxtaposition of where it’s located; the inside doesn’t mirror the outside at all. The minute you walk inside, you’ll be welcomed into a delightful surprise with a maitre d who’s ready to receive you. The different layers of the interior design translates to some of the dishes we had, too - from bold & punchy bowl of spicy beef to freaking depth of flavourful wings. The staff is incredibly welcoming & the wonderful co-owner/chef Jim who has a quiet, calm presence with dishes that convey his passion & full of umami. A worth it visit; an affordable, warm with tasty goodies spot!

The Sushi & Dim Sum we had were delicious. We shared a Sushi platter as well as some spinach & cream cheese dumplings. They also offer a variety of cocktail drinks. I would recommend the Grapefruit Tom Collins. Service is good, the only let down is the location as it's inside Wembly square.

Went for an early dinner with family. What a lovely surprise! The owner was very accomodating, smiling and very helpful. Service was incredible. You pay what you get. Large portions but not authentic Chinese. Noodles are wet, soggy and oily. Fried noodles full of sauce. Soup noodles soup is tastless. Hardly any meat in stir fry or soup noodles like 4 pieces. Lots of MSG. Service is great. Atmosphere is cold and dark. Really need to refurb this place. This used to be my goto noodle bar back when I was a student 20 years ago and this had changed multiple hands. It's cheap but you can eat it if you are not banting or prefer to carbo load then rather have pizza will be more healthy.

What a lovely surprise! I think I've driven past this place a hundred times over the years and I don't understand why I never went in. Such delicious Chinese food (more authentic than most places, but I'm no expert), and great value for money. The staff are so friendly too! It could use a lick of paint, but honestly, that's part of the strange charm. Very Hong Kong hole in the wall.

My review is based on the food and the service only. This is very authentic Chinese food. We had their steamed fish - this was perfectly done in a delicate soy sauce with shredded spring onions. We had the Chinese Veg of the day as a side and steamed rice. Small family restaurant, very friendly service. Will definitely go back to try the other dishes. Updated my review today - 7 August 2022 : Chuck Yang is our regular go to for authentic Chinese food. We recommend the Garlic Eggplant and if you enjoy tofu - the Tofu stuffed with pork is excellent. Their General's Chicken is always popular. Update: Jan 2023 - Still our go to for quick and great Chinese food. Our lunch today wasn't on the menu - the chef cooked us a custom meal because we wanted something different.

What a lovely hidden gem!! My friend invitede to this little Chinese restaurant. The waiter was very very friendly and well informed. He was very helpful with the menu and making recommendations. The owner also came and greeted which was very pleasant. The General chicken was the star dish. It is SUPER crunchy chicken pieces with a sweet sticky sauce. 10/10 highly recommend. I also enjoyed their dumplings. Definitely a must visit if you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant.

It was the worse poke bowl I hever had in my whole life. Lot of mayonnaise, a huge leave of lettuce over the bowl(never sow lettuce in a poke bowl). Tiny portion. Those large amount of mayonnaise was terrible!! Plus the mayonnaise must be the cheapest one. These restaurants think only about money. They increased they prices but dicreased the quality! Shame on you. These food was beyonde terrible!!!!! I am still hungry after all. Plus the coke zero was warm

We ate here 7 years ago and loved it. Went back again today and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we will go back. The restaurant is rather dingy inside but when the weather is good it's lovely outside. We had sweet and sour pork with noodles and chicken pad Thai. Both were excellent. The waitress could be a bit more enthusiastic but she was friendly enough.

Great place, really good food, particularly their vegan platter is delicious and well priced. They lose a star though for very depressing fish tank, those fish are way too big.

Decent food here with very nice staff. The sweet chilli chicken schnitzel was overly sweet while the chicken was a bit dry. The onion rings were also overly salty and the fries a bit soft and cold.

Did the early shift here. Came for a good coffee and toast. The drinks were spot on as always. Though the place was empty, our drinks took a very long time to arrive. We were a little concerned about our bread. It looked overly pressed... like extra flat. Still tasted great though. Chips were on point

Wimpy is always a great choice! The food is tasty, the prices are fair, and the staff are super friendly. I especially have to mention how wonderful the employer Faranaaz was,she went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. I love their breakfast and burgers; you always know what you’re getting. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, perfect for a quick meal or a sit-down with friends. Always a good experience!

It's such a shame to write this review because we went here a year or so ago and had some of the best Ramen ever. The experience was decent but the food was really very good and not too unreasonable in price. We went back about 4 times since and every time our experience got worse and worse and the price doubled on the ramen dish from the first time we went. The last time we went will unfortunately be our last time ever as it was truly not good. Food had a staple in it :/ Service took forever (1h+), quite unfriendly and the order was wrong. Price went from R110 for a Ramen bowl to R210!!! So sad as it really has potential but wow it really declined over the past year. Can not recommend...

My husband wanted ramen and this was absolutely delicious. I had the curry udon with chicken. The best curry udon I have had outside of Japan. My daughter had the fried noodles which is annihilated. Great surprise and will definitely go back

Lovely restaurant with an extensive menu. They offer sushi, Asian curries, hot pots, tofu steaks, soups, salads, sake, and Asian cocktails, too.The coconut red curry was cooked to perfection. It comes with a side of rice or noodles and will fill you up. The hot pot is big enough for 2 people to share and is a popular dish here. The desserts had enough sweetness and flavour to satisfy us wholeheartedly. Service was really good too, the waiters know the menu well and offer knowledgeable recommendations. The owner is friendly and welcoming to all guests. Overall, we had a super experience and loved all meals.

I thought the hotpot I had in Beijing was the ultimate, just to be blown away by Akia in my hometown. On the downside the sushi is very much overpriced and the service can improve by hiring more waiters.

Open to public The City Bowl Market is an ideal place to visit not only if you like to support local suppliers but also if like organic produce. On market days you can feast your eyes on delicious foods and candy. Amber Golden honey and various other curious and crafts from local artists. The vendors are so friendly. I think it's also a perfect place to meet new people with similar tastes and likes. If not for the food or the crafts then come to meet interesting and new people. The market has so much to offer. Just make sure that you come early though if you are driving,because parking can become a challenge or come on foot or book an Uber. It's so worth visiting.

Bazaar like atmosphere in a heritage building in Hope Street in Gardens. A good variety of food and drinks stalls, a nicely prepared seating area and live music creates a laid back and relaxed ambience. Thursday nights only!!

It's a somewhat pretentious food market with some great live music and amazing brownies. Not hugely different from every other market I've been to - conveniently close to work and coincidentally on Thursdays, which is a great springboard for First Thursdays.

I've traded at This market and have had a fantastic experience. The vibe is very nostalgic yet modern at the same time. Great food,music and people.

We had dumplings that were pretty good. The mains were okay. I ordered no onions and received food with onions. The waiters were great and friendly. My food was taken back to the kitchen where my assumption was I’d be made a new meal. However I received the same meal back with less onions. There were 5 prices of beef in the entire meal, I ate 3 before it was sent back. When I got the “new” meal back there weee 2 pieces in that. The waiter was very apologetic but nothing was done. Definitely not worth the money.

Disappointing Experience at Dawn Asian Restaurant My recent visit to Dawn Asian Restaurant in Cape Town was unfortunately very disappointing. While I had hoped for an enjoyable meal, the reality fell far short of expectations. The food itself was a ok but the expensive cooked oysters were clearly off. My wife threw up in the street as we left the restaurant after eating an expensive meal. She did so well into the night until her stomach was empty. The overall experience left us feeling quite dissatisfied. I would caution others to consider their options carefully before choosing what you eat.

Visited in June 2025. South Africa. Cape Town. 🇿🇦 A small Chinese restaurant, quite nicely decorated with many artistic elements, an open kitchen, and a beautiful bar area. FOOD: The restaurant specializes in Chinese cuisine with some other Asian influences. The menu is divided into categories: appetizers, dumplings, rice/noodles, and hot dishes. Pictures make it easier to choose. We started with oysters — lightly baked oysters with glass noodles, an interesting and unusual combination, but the overall oyster flavor got lost. Next, we tried several types of dumplings: shumai with pork and shrimp — tasty, generously filled with thin dough, all in the best Chinese tradition. The crispy prawn wontons were a hit — perfect crunch, good filling, and a suitable sauce. However, the soup dumplings fell apart while eating; broth leaked from two dumplings, and the dough was loose, causing them to tear. The lemon and pepper lobster tail featured a small portion of lobster tails with corn and chili pepper. The lobster tails were well cooked but quite difficult to peel from the shell. It would have been better if they were pre-peeled. SERVICE: The service was mediocre, to say the least. There was only one waiter in the dining area, and he was busy at another table, so we waited about 4 minutes to be seated. Overall, the service was basic — just bringing and clearing dishes. VERDICT: Almost everything we tried was tasty. Overall, if you’re craving Asian-Chinese food, this place will suit you. Just don’t expect great service.

The only Chinese Restaurant We Trust, Yes WEE!! just last week my friends and I tried the restaurant out and all of us came out satisfied fully! Both our Bellies and Wallet came out full. The menu offers an interesting array of cuisine but as a Muslim on a diet for vegetarian meals I was impressed I had a decent selection of foods to choose from. If u ever were to visit the place bring friends along since a journey to Asia should never be done alone 10/10 for me.

Not bad, but mains could be improved upon. Decor, service, atmosphere, cocktails and dim sum were great. Would definitely come back for those reasons, plus their bento lunch boxes. The Bok choy, char siu, sau mai, har gouw, xiao long bao, radish cake were things I’d order again. The mains that we ordered could be improved though - I understand that they are not catering to a predominantly authentic Asian population however. We had the salt and pepper squid, which was great but just tasted like normal calamari with no seasoning. The Cantonese pork belly wasn’t authentic at all and had a dry spice sprinkled over that tasted more Turkish than Asian. The crispy chicken wing stuffed with rice could be less dry and more seasoning in the chicken. Unfortunately, the custard buns were also filled with something that tasted like pure melted butter and not custard. The prices are astronomical and their portion sizes are small - it’s more of a ‘date night’ experience.

Amazing Chinese cuisine in a very trendy setup. Giselle the owner/host was really pleasant and hands on. Food was good all round, some dishes exceptional, others good. I dined with some friends so got to sample quite a lot as can be seen. Don’t forget the desserts, keep space cause they are definitely worth sampling. Note that I called in my Beijing duck order earlier in the day as I know preparation time on this dish is key. It was served along with the starter courses. My waiter was a bit slow, I think possibly overwhelmed. Perhaps more servers required. I will definitely dine here again.

Pan fried dumplings was good, could have been better if it wasn’t so oily. Chicken ramen was super tasty and well presented however the chicken was overcooked and dry but the flavours were awesome. Friendly staff and excellent service. Love the look and feel of the place

Dumplings were good. General Tso chicken veggies and rice were a soggy mush and the broccoli and veg was not fresh and crispy-tasted like frozen veg. Also took 35 minutes from time of order to being ready.

Overall a good experience at this dumpling establishment. Firstly the good: 1. They have a wide variety of dumplings with a nice range in flavors to try from. 2. They have a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, much bigger then I've seen at other dumpling restaurants. 3. Their hot beverages are great. 4. The staff are very friendly, Moses- the owner, was very attentive and helpful. Our order was mixed up and upon bringing it to his attention, the confusion was quickly resolved and he gave us additional dumplings to rectify the mistake. What I would recommend: Because there are so many options to try from, I recommend the Sharing medley so you can try multiple options, namely: The Pork & chive, Pork + cabbage & spring onion, Beef + sechuan pepper + cabbage +carrots, Spicy chicken and teriyaki. The only negative point there is when you opt for the Sharing medley is that, all the dumplings are mixed, not labeled or separated so you have to have a keen sense of taste to identify what you ordered which can be troublesome because that's how my order was mixed up. I would also HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE WONTON SOUP. This dish was by far my favorite, stick with any pork option, the chicken option doesn't hold up as well. I had the Pork & spring onion. It was extremely tasty. I would not recommend anything with Coriander or celery in the dumplings, in my opinion I've found that they overpower the meat. Also the pork bao buns are okay, the filling has a nutty taste, very different from what I'm used to but interesting nonetheless 6/10. Other points to note: 1. There is no parking lot nearby, only street parking. 2. They have a beautiful outdoor area in the back. 3. They have a freezer filled with their frozen dumplings you can buy and make at home. 4. Non halaal. 5. Because they close at 9pm, if you after 8pm, as I did once, they only offer takeaway.

Amazing little place!! We arrived on a day they were having a photo shoot and offered us the food once they were finished 🤩 they gave us dumplings, wings, sushi, bao buns, the best cucumber salad, and crème caramel and it was absolutely exceptional. We got to meet Moses the owner and he and the rest of the staff were so friendly. We got to sit in a lovely enclosured courtyard with lots of plants and cute benches. The lemonade there was really really good too. Would 10000% recommend to anyone near Muizenberg!!

We ventured out for the Ramen Sunday., we tried the 3 available options - vegetarian, chicken, pork. It's not quite the authentic ramen - the noodles were good but the broth needed more flavor and body. The Sui Mai has an interesting shape - we did enjoy the vegetarian version. The fried dumplings were delicious - we had the beef and onion served with a peanut dipping sauce. I do think their drinks are really overpriced at R25. They have interesting CBD ice cream at R85 a tub - we didn't try it. The restaurant is rather cute with fun decor. Seats about max 10 people. Friendly service.

I recently tried the dumplings and, unfortunately, they didn’t quite meet expectations. The flavor was rather bland and lacked the depth or seasoning I was hoping for. The filling could use more seasoning or freshness to really bring it to life.

This past Friday, I had gone to your restaurant as I had a medical emergency. I suffer from chronic IBS and was in a lot of pain so I had no choice but to go to the restaurant. I ran to the bathroom but it was locked. The security had informed me I had to order first but I let him know that it was an emergency. He refused two times after while seeing that I was crying and in a great deal of pain. When he finally let me in, he mumbled something about not getting into trouble because of me. While in the bathroom, I heard him complain but couldn't hear him properly. I understand Kloof/Long street can attract a lot of unruly people for the order first policy to use the bathroom but it comes down to circumstance as I was not a drunkard wandering in but someone with a chronic disease. It was not only embarrassing to beg to be let in the bathroom in front of other customers but also the feeling of inhumanity of not being seen with compassion. That being said, staff need to have a better understanding because there might be a customer in a similar situation who could've been in an even worse situation.

If you are looking for really authentic, delicious food...then look no further...as the menu states...if you looking for something different this is your place...all sauces etc are all made in house...the barbecue sauce as explained by the staff takes 3 days to prepare....the flavors are unreal...the specials on offer as well as the prices of the food items are very reasonable...you getting high end cuisine at a great price...the one special has a starter, full burger, chips & ice cream pudding at around R120...where will you find this for that cheap...I had the chilli bomb burger...it was excellent & quite spicey...or you can actually create your own burger...no where else will you find this...they have packages for virtual reality games next door which is out of this world...loved the service & attention to detail...definitely comming back...

If you keen for a rocking time with fantastic hamburgers, waffles, milkshakes and more then you definitely want to visit RocoMamas. They have friendly staff, good food, and a fantastic vibe/setting. There is inside and outside seating and the venue is wheelchair friendly including bathroom. They are easy to find as they are on the main road and easy to spot. There is ample free parking across the road with a signaled crosswalk. Highly recommended.

We ordered food and it was extremely late. When the order finally arrived, it was very cold. We told them to return it, but they brought back the same order without changing it, and it was still very cold. The food didn’t taste good at all. This is the last time I come here. I tried the branch inside the city and it was good, but this branch should be removed — it’s just not it

Absolutely horrible We arrived and waited around 15 minutes just for someone to take our order after we called someoneover. We ordered at 20:20 and only received our last food item at 21:30. The food didn’t even arrive at the same time, and one of the burgers was cold. We asked for tap water and got room temperature water with no ice. There was no alcohol available. The music was awful the entire night, with only two decent songs. The only thing that came quickly was the bill and the card machine. The service was slow, inattentive, and honestly ruined the night. Definitely not coming back.

My first visit to this branch and it was a very enjoyable experience. The pork BBQ ribs were soft and succulent. The peri peri chicken wings were delicious without being too spicy. The Staff were very friendly and efficient. It's a lovely restaurant and it was exceptionally clean. Will definitely be back again.

Underrated if you want a good burger in Rondebosch you should go here. It's better than fast food and its a little less family orientated than another nearby restaurant if you want somewhere to take a date, or go with friends for a good meal.

Quality dropped significantly. I usually enjoy their boerewors roll with chips, but they changed it from a lekker thick nippy sausage with braised onions to a thin sausage (thinner than a Vienna) with NO onions. The portion itself is also smaller than it was in previous years. R70 for this is robbery.

Stunning views of your room is located on the "view side" we were upgraded, so our room was beautiful. Comfortable mattress and linen. Stunning bathroom. Very clean and well thought out space. Lovely restaurant. Tasty food. Room service. And nice breakfast buffet. Great service. The spa was absolutely amazing! Really, it made our stay! This is a little gem in gardens cape town. I visited this place with a friend Sunday afternoon, it’s amazing and neat, we got a table with the Mountain View loved everything about this place however the service was very slow, we ordered burgers and the Pattie’s were very dry and i don know which sauce they put but it was sour💔 The waiters disappeared and when we asked the guy he said she had gone to lunch🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m not saying she was not supposed to but to at-least she should have given us a heads up? No manager on sight and we informed the waiter about the burgers but nothing was said unfortunately

Had a group Client breakfast at The Capital Hotel Restaurant (buffet). I’m yet to experience a breakfast buffet where there’s so many options of food choices. They cater for everyone and all types of breakfasts. Amazing service, spectacular setting and comfy seating, lovely presentation of all their meals. Will highly recommend.

The only thing that was very annoying is the parking gaurds outside the building, we arrived at 11h30, and they already wanted payment just as you arrived, still far from 13h00, and I think that when the lady knocked off. Last time their machine was faulty, and we didn't have cash on hand.They delayed us, so we almost missed the time to collect my son. Sorry, but these parking people really are an inconvenience at this establishment. My family and I enjoyed coming to this Panarotis many years as it was away from the big malls and parking so convenient, but now, with this parking service provider, it's a mess. Awesome food, great atmosphere inside but outside another story altogether, pity you have such a expensive parking, i drive all the way from Parow North just for the food, my partner and i paid R28 for less than 30 min of parking. Imagine we spent more time, what we would have paid just to park. This is going to turn customers away. I dont mind paying for parking but this is daylight crazyness. It makes me think twice visiting just to pay the price of a pizza for parking.

Where do i begin? Ordered a steak and mushroom tripple decker with crammed crust via the app for collection. I gave them 45 minutes then went to collect. Found the place full of people waiting for orders and nobody behind the tills taking orders. Waited at least 10 minutes for someone to notice me and told them im picking up my app order. Got my slip and waited and waited and waited. 45 minutes later i asked whats the point of that app if its going to take 2 hours?The lady told me she will check and she asked them to make mine as its an app order. I finally got mine and walked out but something told me to check it and it looked like polony inside. Went back and told them this isnt steak and mushroom and she apologised and said she will fix it i must give her 2 minutes. I could see the lady taking my tripple decker apart and adding the steak and putting it back together. With her hands as well. That must be the worst service i have received from any fast food place ever. When i finally left with my pizza it tasted dry and cold and the filling wasnt layered correctly or anything. Never returning to this establishment again.

The food was good, it was your average tasty burger 🍔. The customer service and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired for. Cape Town was a beautiful experience, if you have your own lunch bag & not needing to use the retail & restaurant facilities. Subtle tribalism is happening all over Cape Town. For 1, I wasn't Caucasian (white) or Coloured or Xhosa, so for the retail sales people all around, you're not served with courteousness or a smile ☺ Greeting them in another language wasn't appreciated. 🤔 We were buying for 5 of us, so we also ordered @3 other restaurants that night. Service from other restaurants was the same all round. Other provinces have proven to be friendlier with their non Provincial guests. But my holiday was beautiful Burger King Cape Town needs to be better

Very slow service, even when it's off peak hours & there's nobody in front of you in the queue the staff seems to be hesitant to serve you & in the same breath they seem to take their time on a simple order. You're gonna wait up to 10-15 minutes for up one meal regardless of how busy it is Halaal so no bacon options (limited menu) If it wasn't for the location being conveniently close, I'd avoid this burger king altogether

Pizza Hut was not my first choice (not a massive pizza fan) but I was starving and had limited options. The shop is next door to the shisha lounge, and staff will float in and out of the two locations. Having to cater to both shops on a busy week night proved difficult as we waited maybe 15 minutes or longer for our food. The shop itself is clean but the bathroom was in a state! The delivery guy was seen helping to box and slice pizza for us, customers because the wait time was long. When the pizza eventually arrived, it was warm and delicious! We ordered a thin and thick base pizza to taste the difference: the thick based one was more filling. Obviously. And well baked. The toppings were great on both pizza and I will definitely go back, except for those awful cheesy poppers or whatever - a complete waste of money! A nice, well decorated shop with sufficient seating and a lovely colour scheme and cheery staff *went the first day of the Ed Sheeran concert ...maybe that would explain why things were a bit crazy lol

The food was generally disappointing. The "buffalo wings" were tiny and stale tasted like they were sitting in oil for hours on end, they were unseasoned and very dry. The pizza filling was alright however the base and cheese bits was a bit doughy and chewy. Very disappointing experience. Place was very clean and staff were great.

Great pizza 🍕! We had good service and delicious piping hot pizza. My only challenge was the total lack of parking in the area. I ended up doing the family and driving for 10 minutes to find parking. If you can get to it your efforts will be rewarded.

Ambiance - American fashion with a hint of hipster. Background radio, mostly pop. Food - Overpriced, you will pay for the brand name. Not that great food wise. Service - None to write about. Staff not taking service seriously and mostly dancing to the music when you just want to be served. They also somehow got my mobile number and spammed me for a while every day with no option to opt out. South African franchise support also seems non existent.

Great vibe, beautiful established, beers, sport and pizza. Service was good, friendly and didnt wait too long. Prices are a bit expensive for what you getting. Portions are small, toppings are little and pizza base isnt very tasty. Good for a quick bite but considering MacDonalds is across the street its not the first option

I give it 2 stars mainly because I love their pizzas, however waiting time was a bit long. And the pizza came cold. Saw one customer coming through and she stood for quite some time by the counter as there was no one to attend her...Their service isn't as good as other Pizza huts unfortunately. The pizza is good... Great to have craft beer there as well. But the service was terrible. Waited 50mins for the pizza because it looked like there were only 3 people working there. The cashier had to make and cut the pizza as well as pour the beers... The scooter delivery guy had to also help out with cutting the pizza, clearing the tables and taking phone orders. Terrible management because these poor people are overwhelmed. This makes me worried about attention to detail and cleanliness. My order was taken down wrong and not read back to me... When the pizza came I just took it because I could see how much pressure they were under.

I love fried sushi because of the asian mayo. However, they used ordinary Nola or PnP mayo and that is disappointing and it tastes sour.

Ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats (for the 100th time) and it never disappoints. The sweet & sour chicken was a big portion & delicious. Good value for money. Spring rolls arrived hot and crispy, and the hot & sour soup was fresh and well flavoured. Will definitely be ordering again very soon.

Great food doesn't care. 🍣🍱Everything is made on order and fresh as a fishy can be.🦑 🍤 They do have a liquor license, but the choices in that department are limited. This is my go-to-shòóshi place when the cravings hit.🥣🍚🍘🥠🍝🍛 I have never been dissapointed.

Came back to Erawan having not been here for maybe a year now. Elegant dining area with tables that are well spaced so you dont feel crowded or too close for comfort. A quiet dinner for two with my gorgeous girlfriend and culinary critic. Decided to have the dim sum dumplings for starters, choosing the two prawn dishes, Ka num Jeeb Goong 3pcs absolutely delicious and recommended and the Kui-Chay also 3pcs. We then had the Green Curry with chicken which was very tasty, not hot, but very pleasant and filling. Sadly this venue does not have a liquor licence and we only found this out on arrival, sadly we were not informed when we booked telephonically, so had soft drinks. I rate this restaurant at a 7/10 and will definately return.

Finally got the chance to visit Erawan on Saturday night, and it was such a treat. Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious! Enjoyed a chicken tom yum soup (medium heat) for starters, which was extremely spicy! My soup consisted of spicy broth, chicken, mushrooms and a hint of lemongrass. For mains I ordered a red curry with chicken (medium heat). This was not as spicy as the soup but still left a pleasant, spicy tingling in the mouth. Veggies were crunchy and the sauce was rich and flavoursome. I'll definitely be back for more!

What an incredible experience, the minute you walked in you felt like royalty. The service was first class and the food is some of the best Asian food you can get in South Africa. I highly recommend it.

Atmosphere in restaurant was good, nice and warm feel. Food was very good, dishes were tasty, with good spiced and flavours. My least favourite was the stir fry, felt there was a bit too much onion and the onion was chunky. Desert was also nicely done not too sweet. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend to other people.

Oh dear, what has happened to Erawan? It was an upmarket Thai with friendly super-efficient Thai staff and served great food. It now looks scruffy, the food is a shadow of what it was and the service is terrible. New local staff with no knowledge of the food, no attempt at a friendly welcome, just sullen and amateurish. Our waitress looked surprised when we asked if we could order. What a shame.

The restaurant is in a lovely area with other quaint restaurants. It unfortunately does not live up to its potential. There is little to no atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and the medium spiced food that I ordered was exceedingly hot and largely inedible without removing huge numbers of chillies. The bathrooms were questionable with one stall that did not lock. There was no soap and the tap did not work properly. This of course brings into question the cleanliness of the staffs' hands ...

How extremely disappointing, visited PE machachos not too long ago and from the service to the food was absolutely amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal so much so that I just had to try it again but this time in cpt(kroomboom) and what an awful taste it has left in my mouth. For starters there was no soap or hand towels to clean our hands before eating. When our food came the chips were hardly seasoned and the burger patty was paper thin could hardly taste it between all that wheat(bun), the chicken was dry and tasteless(we ordered hot but it was more like lemon and herb)We raised our concerns with the waiter who then addressed it with the manager whom had no decency to even come to the table to acknowledge an unhappy customer. I feel a lot can be learnt from the pe branch. It was definitely not money well spent makes sense why they have a pedros located on their doorstep.

After a 25 minute wait for my food, the burger didn't have much taste even though I requested "hot", it was mild. The chips weren't hot and was golden-brown and not the taste I am accustomed to. The chicken fillet on the burger was so thin, possibly 7mm. Then, it's packaged in a take-away fomo tray, and instead of packing it horizontally, they hand it over vertically so everything was a mess once I got home. If you want to taste a proper Mochachos restaurant similar to the JHB & DBN branches, try the Sea Point branch instead of this exceptionally bad branch as per the numerous bad reviews already listed. Clearly the management and staff at this branch do not take pride in what they do.

This place needs new management. This would be the 5th time in 6months where there are no leg quarters. If it is popular then do proper stock take.

Ordered 2 full meals with chips and coleslaw and extra sauce - Chicken was tender and juicy, Chips fresh and hot, Coleslaw freshly made. Waiting time was 15mins. Thanks Waleed for putting the order in and for ensuring the food was hot on collection.

Mochachos in Rondebosch disappointed me today...I ordered a chicken schwarma and wow was I not disappointed..it was very small not what I expected, it was tasteless and cold...worse I recommended for me and my friends to eat it just to be disappointed like that wow okay....what a waste of our money...I recommend mochachos in observatory they do such a good job

This wass my first experience with KFC in South Africa. It was just about average... the chicken leg was not crispy. The burger had zero crunch... This is not even close to 20% of the taste I get in India... The guard is very well behaved... the place is clean!!!!

Shoutout to the security guard (BYERS security company) who greets you so warmly, assist you where needed and ask if your order is correct before you leave. - Customer service at its finest.

Disappointing experience. I visited KFC Icon on Tuesday, 6 May, and had an extremely disappointing experience due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of a staff member. The African male assisting customers was shockingly disrespectful, with absolutely no regard for basic customer service or courtesy. Despite the store looking modern and inviting, the attitude of this staff member ruined the entire experience. He was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed zero professionalism in handling customer interactions. It's unacceptable for any representative of a brand like KFC to behave in this way. This staff member urgently requires proper customer service training, as his conduct was far below any acceptable standard. It's truly disheartening to see such poor treatment of customers in a reputable establishment. I do not recommend this branch at all based on this experience. Management needs to step in immediately and address the issue before more customers are driven away.

Nugget box with a buddy coke was assisted by Cecilia. Service was fantastic and she was very friendly. She always assist me but I am happy she always smiles even when she is busy. Thank you

It gets very busy during lunch , and the waiting time is very high. The security guard is very friendly and helpful

Ordered a bbq chicken and pineapple. Not only did i not receive what i ordered, i received a piece of toast. If i wanted toast i'd have done it myself, i know how to toast bread. How do u send this to a customer?

We ordered this food for takeaway. The pizzas were very flavorful with a great crust! The chicken tenders were delicious with honey mustard sauce and the chocolate hand pies were perfect for sharing. Great food for the money!

When I asked one of your cashiers (AKHONA MDLAMZA)for assistance regarding the menu, her response was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of assisting me politely, she dismissed my question in a manner that made me feel unwelcome as a customer. I have always enjoyed Romans Pizza, but this experience was disappointing. I believe all customers deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of their queries. I kindly request that you address this matter with your staff to ensure better customer service in the future.

I should have turned around when passing the 'manager' smoking dagga outside of the store. While trying to place my order I had to consistently repeat myself as the cashier could not hear anything over the noise in-store. The other cashier on duty was having a conversation at extremely high volume. I eventually had to shout to get the noisy cashier's attention. Only to get attitude from the staff. What a disgusting and insulting experience I don't think I will ever set foot in the store again.

Paid cash for 2 pizzas but was only billed for one. I didn’t notice the mistake until later ,my fault for not double-checking on the spot. But now I have to prove I paid more than I was charged, and I’m stuck waiting again while they check their register. Disappointed with the hassle, the delay, and the lack of efficiency in handling a simple error. I had to wait forever for my 2nd Pizza

The third time I've had an Uber eats order cancelled by Roman greenpoint an hour of after they accepted the order. Gone are the days of a a 30/40 minute pizza delivery. Sies

27 years ago I had a friend from China who myself and a bunch of friends stayed with for the weekend. On the second night his gran had arrived in South Africa for the first time and decided to cook for everyone. It was the first time that I had ever eaten a Won Ton and it was probably the best thing I'd ever tasted. I was obsessed from that day onwards but for 27 years never tasted that same authenticity than what I did that day, until the Red Room! The chicken wontons were beyond superb and brought me back to that moment all those years ago. But that was just one of the many highlights on their menu. Everything we tasted was incredible and I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for excellent food, service and an authentic experience. And the cocktails are pretty damn good too!! We will definitely be back!!

I had such a wonderful experience at The Red Room in Cape Town! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A special mention goes to Ren, our waiter, who was absolutely fantastic – attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations that made the evening even more enjoyable. The cocktails are out of this world – I tried several throughout the evening, and each one was beautifully balanced, creative, and delicious. Definitely a highlight of the night! As someone who appreciates plant-based dining, I was thrilled to see that the vegan options on the menu are outstanding. They’re not just an afterthought, but truly flavorful and thoughtfully crafted dishes that can stand on their own. All in all, The Red Room delivered an unforgettable dining experience, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

If you go to Red Room by Chefs Warehouse you will get Chefs Warehouse! Tapas style menu in 3-4 courses with a vegetarian option, which is almost better than the „normal“ menu. Very good wine menu, staff with attention to detail and a really cool room in the basement of Mount Nelson Hotel. Pricy but worth every single Rand!

Situated in the Mount Nelson Hotel There's many mixed reviews concerning this restaurant, however, it's been on my list to try for a while now as I thoroughly enjoy Asian cuisine, and I was convinced that we would have a fantastic dining experience as I wouldn't expect anything less coming from the Chefs Warehouse group. We had booked an early dinner, mid week, straight after work. There were only two other couples when we arrived, but by 9 pm the restaurant was about half full. The space is really exotic! Great ambiance and decor, and the service was impeccable! Taras is the manager there (he used to work at The Bailey), and his knowledge about wines and the cuisine is highly commendable! I discovered a new white wine, which I have added to my list of all-time favorites! We chose to order from the a la carte menu instead of the set menu. The food was so beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Due to my sweet tooth, I'd probably say dessert was my favorite dish - but bar that, I'd highly recommend the Prawn toast and Duck Pancake. Will definitely be back to try the other options.

A very nice hidden place in The Mount Nelson Hotel Sober elegance lightning and interior. Good food interesting Asian meny The waiters are confused and feel uninterested in their work and guests. Host and hostess give great service and have a good knowledge. The somalier had a good knowledge!

Enjoyed a delightful set menu at this restaurant. The host and waiters were courteous and provided helpful information about the meals. Generous portions of tasty food, and the drinks arrived promptly. While the atmosphere wasn't at its peak, it's understandable for an early week visit. Overall, a satisfying dining experience.

Really underwhelming experience for me. There’s a lot of room for improvement. The Chinese Flower bread served 1st was the the best dish of the night for me. The cauliflower was much too sweet, the oysters okay. The duck though, was a let down, lacking any authentic flavour, even tasted like smoked duck, which is unlike Peking duck, this was disappointing. Desserts were well priced and not bad. Being part of the chefs warehouse group I expected a lot more than they delivered. I don’t think I will try this again.

Food took over an hour, they brought one of the prawn dishs it was overcooked and some were raw. Our second dish wasn't even brought. We ordered 2 prawn dishes and only received one. 2 hours in and they haven't even brought the second dish. This place brings down the rest of the restaurants. They do not even serve sushi anymore. The place was quiet and had no atmosphere..do not recommend this place.

It took us 1.5 hours to get the food. first they served their (Chinese friends) who came later than us. the cafe was empty, but such a long serving of dishes with an empty hall the dish does not match the pictures on the menu and the taste of the dishes is not very good.... our mood was spoiled. the waiter did not know the menu and our mood was spoiled as much as possible. I will never go back to this establishment and would not recommend to anyone.

I had a lovely evening with my friends, the menu had a wide range of food options and the ones we ordered were rather good. The price point is on point for the flavour and quantity so all and all was a good experience. So if you wanna have a family style Chinese dinner do stop by and enjoy the delicacies.

I've visited this restaurant on 2 occasions. Both have been bitterly disappointing. Both visits they couldn't make sushi because they had no avocado in the kitchen. Strange for an Asia restaurant that advertises tons of sushi on the menu. As for the food. It's so oily. Avoid!!! When the chef came to our table he said he will "warm up pre-made meals" so some of the food is made a day or two before and gets warmed up. You can taste it's not fresh. There is no music in the restaurant, so no vibe or atmosphere. The staff look worried/scared at times. I have no idea what's up with the restaurants service. The 2 Asian women who look like the managers/owners are always staring at you like you are unwelcome or a criminal. Most nights there's only 1 or 2 other tables. It's always so dead empty always. Very odd restaurant.

Not sure how good the food was as we never received any. We ordered sushi for the 6 of us and it took over an hour to get nothing, and then we realised they hadn't even started with our food. Terrible server and it was like nobody knew what was going on... We also paid R30 per coke can we had, which also took 20 minutes to get to us and they forgot 1 of them. Insane. We left without eating. Nice feel to the place but I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody. Less than 1 star.

Bad food, bad service and overpriced basic dishes. Don’t waste your time and hard earned money. Do yourself a favour and rather drive to the closest Simply Asia, trust me.

Highly disappointed with the meals. My first and last time for this restaurant.. we spent R900 for 4 noodle dishes all of which were tasteless and bland!! Puts Chinese cuisine to shame!!

THIS is why I love Google Maps. In a thousand years I would never have found Yummy Dim Sum, and yet it's one of those glorious hidden gems. Hidden away (not by accident) behind a metal gate, in an industrial area of Cape Town lies a truly unique DimSum experience. This family run restaurant (the Maitre D' is ~9 years old and adorable) has only 3 or 4 tables, but an extensive menu of dumplings and congees made fresh just a few meters from your plate. The food was delicious, the atmosphere embodies the authentic "hole in the wall" experience that is increasingly rare these days. Thank you! (and thank you fellow Google Maps reviewers for turning me on to this great find!)

You don't come to this place for fine dining experience or fantastic service. You come here to satisfy your tummy and craving it has of the most amazing traditional Chinese food. This is my go to place for at least once a week. It lights up with the reminiscences of my childhood.

Fantastic authentic dim sum restaurant. The perfect way to spend a Sunday lunch with a large group of family or friends for an excellent price.

Value for money dim sum place with some supermarket items to purchase. Serves red tea, pu-erh and oolong, not generally served at other dim sum outlets, that normally serve just green tea.

Fabulous take away or sit down food factory in Montague Gardens. Delicious fresh food! Prepared as you order. Unpretentious Chinese restaurant and food.

I am in search for Dumplings these days and came across this little place ! I was excited to try it out based on the reviews id seen, I am not unimpressed but I did have to wait 25 minutes for my lunch time order which was alittle inconvenient as I only had so much time. I did however stock up on a variety of frozen dumplings that I will be trying at home, Pricing is very decent and the hot food was good. -- Step up on service will improve the outcome of your lunch rush. I may not be back for lunch but I will stock up on condiments and frozen items in the future,

Authentic restaurant tucked away but the real deal. Delicious food, Radish cake a must try.
