Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Gigi's Italian Restaurant in Glastonbury is a charming spot known for its high-quality Sardinian cuisine. The menu may be smaller, but the food is made with great care and attention to detail. The bustling atmosphere creates a lively and enjoyable dining experience. With over 20 years of history, it remains a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant values its patrons, creating an inviting environment where handshakes and laughter are abundant.
Definitely a restaurant that's really worthwhile visiting. The food was wonderful & full of great flavour. We were meeting our nephew & his wife with their support drive on their way cycling from Lands End to John o'Groats, so a total of 5 at our table. The staff at Gigi's were brilliant & the atmosphere at Gigi's could not have been better. If you're ever at Glastonbury stop in at Gigi's & you'll be looked after. 👍👍👍👍👍

"Takeaway"... Honest opinion. If could put zero stars I would. Pathetic portion size. (And if you read reviews of this place I'm not the only person to state this) Possibly fit for a child, certainly not an adult and the price for this in the picture was a whopping £28.50 (£4.50 of that was for a tiny spoon of chicken -you can just about make it out- and a slither of ham as extra toppings on the tagliatelle so just stretch your imagination as to what it would have looked like without this added 'feature') and I'm not sure where the creamy sauce is that you are meant to get. The half portion looks pretty much the same as a full. Don't waste your money. You can make it better at home. The staff don't give two hoots either, she even put the phone down on me when I called up to complain. So I called back and I eventually got a refund after talking to another member of staff and then the manager.... but this would only happen if I got in my car for another journey which isnt round the corner and bought the food back, wasting my petrol for something that should have been given adequately in the first place. The only good thing about this place is the cat in the entrance.

Love eating here with the family. Pizza is a favourite with the kids and I usually have a pasta dish. They are usually quite busy so best to book if there’s a large group of you. It’s an open kitchen so you can see how hard the chefs are working.
Claire H — Google review
Lovely meal here, great food and drink, decent prices, fantastic service. Just be mindful if you struggle with heat as on a hot day, the restaurant does get very warm inside.
Rachel U — Google review
A real slice of Italy unexpectedly at the bottom of Glastonbury High Street. It’s a proper authentic Italian restaurant, the staff are charismatic and the food is delicious, the tomato sauce they use is amazing and makes me wish I could buy jars of it for home.

Super nice and accommodating. We were in Glastonbury for my brother's 40th birthday. Upon hearing this, they sat us down right away and sat us by the front window. Great food and kind, warm service as we were visiting from the US. Thank you for a lovely experience.
Jessica D — Google review
Delicious. So delicious we had to come back the next night. The most luscious carbonara I’ve ever had, AND the prosciutto & funghi pizza? Bonus. Tonight we indulged in some tiramisu, and it was exactly what was needed to round off a truly perfect (and unexpected in SW England) Italian meal. Seriously. I’d come back to town just for another helping of carbonara. And pizza. And tiramisu. 🧑‍🍳

Tea house
Bistro
Breakfast restaurant
Abbey Tea Rooms & Restaurant is a charming, family-owned establishment offering traditional English tea, sandwiches, and cakes in a cozy and welcoming setting. Located near the Glastonbury Abbey ruins, this quaint tea room serves up a delectable array of local Somerset cuisine made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can indulge in homemade soups, cottage pie, and classic afternoon tea featuring scones with clotted cream and jams.
We had the Sunday lunch and were very impressed. Service was bang on, portion sizes were perfect, and beautifully prepared. We had the lamb and chicken main course and both were amazing. The dessert choice was amazing and had that "home prepared" feel to it. Recommend the Ginger Sponge & Clotted Cream, and the Fruit Meringue nest 😃

We have been here a few times already, and we will keep coming back everytime we visit glastombury. The staff is really friendly and attentive, the place looks like is frozen in time, I love the decorations and furniture. The afternoon tea is amazing and their scones, one of the best I've ever tried. Lunch options are not many but always delicious... we have so far tried the shepperds pie ( amazing) and the roast pork. The desserts, if you still have space for it, are also really good, the sticky toffee pudsing is to die for. Highly recommended. Although on high season make sure you book in advance.

Best little tea shop! We loved our afternoon cream tea and scones!

So lovely very friendly staff. And dog friendly really spoilt our dog. The food was amazing and all home cooked very good prices for a very good meal. Very clean all round. And the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If we are back this way will visit again. To the staff if you read this thank you very much for a lovely meal.

Abbey Tea Rooms was really popular and deservedly so. With all the uniqueness of Glastonbury it was refreshing to find a traditional tea room. A good selection on the menu. Dog friendly. Staff were busy but still happy, helpful and friendly. Worth visiting just for the homemade scones. Would eat here again.

We had a celebration afternoon tea at the Glastonbury tea rooms last weekend for my mother's 90th birthday. As well as the lovely tea of salmon and cream cheese sandwiches, scones, jam and clotted cream, and two delicious cakes, the cafe also kindly made us a delicious birthday decorated sponge cake ( for a very reasonable price) and bought a 90 balloon for the table. My mother is in a wheelchair which they accommodated after a little shuffling of tables. The staff were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to make it a memorable occasion. I can't thank them enough.
L P — Google review
A lovely dainty little cafe in Glastonbury high street. We loved it here and the service was great and very quick! The sandwiches were gorgeous and so were the scones - highly recommend! Also they have a big selection of cakes and the Heck’s apple juice is lovely. This little place is worth a try if you need a bite to eat after looking through all the shops in town or just on a general day out 😊
Lauren ( — Google review
I booked for Mother’s Day and came here with my parents for Afternoon Tea. Needless to say we were all seriously impressed with every aspect. The atmosphere was really lovely and the staff were kind, knowledgable and attentive. The afternoon tea itself was really tasty and, looking at some of the other options on their menu come to other tables such as the soups and roast dinner, is definitely the place you could visit over and over. I am Coeliac and was perfectly prepared to not have afternoon tea with my parents and pick something else. I was very impressed and surprised that they had a full gluten free afternoon tea, which was really amazing, and multiple other options to choose from. Overall a great experience for Mother’s Day or for any other occasion and we will certainly be back.

Phenomenal food, phenomenal service, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Queer friendly and accessible (ramp on request). Watching food being made and prepared in the kitchen, and talking to the chef, was a wonderful addition to the experience. Extra shoutout to the front of house - wonderfully passionate, accommodating, and happy to answer all questions, even about the whole history of the restaurant. When I’m in the area again, I’ll be making a beeline to this restaurant. Highly, highly recommend, and will be spreading word to all friends and family!

We went for a birthday lunch and the food was phenomenal. A much higher standard than we expected from what looks like a standard pub. The service was perfect- friendly, accommodating and helpful. Every plate was well presented, each ingredient was explained in detail and the food is delicious. The wait time was spot on so food didn’t take too long but there was enough time to relax and chat between plates and courses. We felt very welcome, including the dog! well looked after and will certainly be going back. A real treat.
Jade W — Google review
The food was great and the staffs were lovely. We tried a few dishes and they were awesomely delicious. Despite a busy lunch on a summer friday, the staffs still put on smiles to serve their guests. It is definitely a place we will come back if we visit Glastonbury again. Thank you for the wonderful lunch, QC.
Chris — Google review
Searching google for somewhere to eat while visiting Glastonbury and we liked the look of the menu and managed to get in shortly before lunchtime service finished - we had no idea about the chef’s appearances on TV until we started speaking to the staff. Chose the vegan feast and the food just kept coming, all of it absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. The pannacotta was exceptional. Left feeling totally satisfied.
D A — Google review
The Queen of Cups head chef/ owner was on Mastechef UK. The food was tasty, it would be hard to find any fault- however have we eaten better Middle Eastern food in England… yes. The inside of the restaurant is a bit run down, and the service just so-so. Final review- although nice, not sure i would travel to this place for middle Easter cuisine.
Andrea M — Google review
Stopped by here and luckily got a table. An absolutely amazing lunch, everything was packed full of layers of flavour and texture. The hummus was exceptional the best I have very had, lovely cheese, delicious and super light merguez, the crips of the chicken skin was another level. The owner was warm and welcoming and bought the digest to life. If you’re in the area go here, delicious vibrant tasting food wonderful warm friendly atmosphere. A gem.

Slightly shabby chic pub with an amazing menu. Food was sensational! We had almost all of the veggie options and didn’t disappoint.

Lovely restaurant and food. We visited Friday lunchtime. Our dog was allowed in with us and we were sat in the main front room with everyone else. Starters of bread and 2 x dips was very tasty. Three mains on top was enough. A nice bottle of Chardonnay. Total £125 inc tip. Staff were very attentive. Food comes as it is ready. Recommended.

With so many dining options in Glastonbury, we were drawn to Hungry Monkeys by its fun, quirky name, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! After a quick look at the menu and prices, we were genuinely impressed. The dishes are not only well-priced but also beautifully prepared and absolutely mouth-watering. A real standout for quality and value. Special kudos to the lovely team who took such good care of us. There was a slight delay with our food, and they were kind enough to apologise and offer complimentary tea, coffee, and cake as a goodwill gesture. We accepted the coffee but insisted on paying for dessert - it was worth every penny! The food here is clean, healthy, and made with care. Super friendly service, great atmosphere, and truly excellent value. Please support this gem of a café - you won’t regret it!

Loved breakfast here! It’s really fast and cozy and the beverages are delicious too! I got the Vegetarian Full English and a hot chai tea with some vanilla syrup on the side which I highly recommend. I ate here with some friends and sat outside and it was very relaxing.

I had the jackfruit burger which was great. The fries thst come with it were really good as well. The waitresses here are all very friendly and welcoming 10/10. Nice selection of herbal teas which I always appreciate and it is hard to find! I came in here because I needed to work on my laptop and needed a plug. They have 1 plug! There is this XLN free WiFi (I didn't use as I have my own). The only unfortunate thing for me was they served my tea in a dirty mug but since service was so great they changed without a fuss.

Located in Glastonbury, *Knight's Fish & Chips Est 1909* is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic and traditional fish and chips. This gem has been crowned Britain's best Fish Restaurant in 2024 and boasts a rich history dating back to 1890. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood options, including the catch of the day, hake, battered cod with garlic & oregano fries with aioli, curry sauce, and more.
This is what fish and chips should be! Large pieces of fresh quality fish fried perfectly to a wonderful crispiness. Went well with the accompanying mountain of chips. Service was friendly and efficient even though it was a busy, busy night. A must-try in Glastonbury.
Lou C — Google review
Ordered regular cod & chips. When we got it back we thought they’d given us small by mistake but it looked lovely. However the grease coming from the food was so off putting by the end of the meal both cardboard boxes were coming apart as the grease was dripping through. The batter wasn’t crispy. It may’ve started off crispy but was just soggy & falling off the fish. I’m so grateful I bought the food home to eat as the grease would’ve been everywhere had we eaten them sat out somewhere. The box was so soaked & falling apart it would’ve been impossible to eat them out. Such a shame as they definitely weren’t cheap, but on this experience, we won’t be returning. I’m aware fish & chips are deep-fried, but these were definitely one of the most greasy fish we’d ever eaten.
Paula L — Google review
Deplorable. Look at the photo. LARGE. Cod n chips. The colour of chips white and soggy. Totally undercooked. Lacking crispness and taste. The fish was ok but not what I’d call ‘large’. I used to go regularly. But now staffed by a younger crew Won’t be going again. So disappointing
Boopeedoop — Google review
Wonderful fish and chips. I don't care to much for this classic dish... except from here. The fish is so fresh, the batter is tasty and perfectly cooked with a light crunch...not too heavy. and the chips are amazing, lovely and light with a nice crisp texture. Cooked to perfection...it's a popular plaice 😀 you need to book for a table in the restaurant.
D P — Google review
Lives up to it's award winning status. The fish and chips are up there with the best I've had in the country. The customer service is excellent and the cooks obviously take pride in their product, as is evident by the quality. Please be prepared to wait at busy times as you can't prepare food of this standard in 10 minutes. The drinks are reasonably priced and the courtyard is a wonderful place to eat in warmer times. It was a pleasure to eat in an establishment that put customer service and quality of food above simply making a profit.

Nice place. Good food, but staff can be a little dodgy. I watched two people walk out as they had not been served. The staff are edgy, goth, arty types. They definitely have attitude. That was ok for me but I saw it didn’t work for others. I saw other tables waiting too long for their food as well. Mine, thankfully came promptly and with no issues.
Darren — Google review
We arrived at about two so were not sure if we could get eats. We did and the Somerset Smokie was brilliant ,other half's Omelette was great she said and the fillings were different which was good, something different. Lovely staff and great kitchen staff too. Altogether a great experience. The music leaves a bit to be desired but nowhere is perfect!
Steve T — Google review
I cant actually comment on the food, the menu looked nice. BUT I just had a really upseting experience. I have autism & sensory processing disorder. I had been walking in the rain to find somewhere to sit which didnt have loud music playing, and wasnt too busy, and where i could sit quite near the window or door as i get anxious. I sat down to order, and just as i did quite loud reggae music started blaring out of the speaker facing directly at me. I was devestated, hungry and exhausted. I find it nervewracking and embarrasing to ask for music to be turned down, and it reminds me of my disability, and that can be upsetting. I asked the waitress and explained it was due to my autism, apologetically. She went over and asked the young lady with long black hair, who rolled her eyes and laughed loudly ' We need our music to survive' and indicated they wouldnt turn it down! I felt so upset, and just burst into tears which was extra embarasing. Then she pointed down into a dark section near loads of full tables with people talking loudly, and said it might be quieter down there. Im not sure if it was rudeness, selfishness, lack of understanding and empathy, or just plain cruelty. But it was distressing, ableist and surely bad for business. Many people, not just those with autism, dont want to listen to music in cafes. I was about to spend £20-30 on lunch. But had to rush out in tears. Id have only been in there 45 mins max, then they couldve turned it up again. It would be great if the staff could be given some accessibility training. I liked the look of the food, and ive sat outside there and had a nice coffee before. But this was soul destroying.
Heather B — Google review
We had lovely breakfast on the way to stroll around, go visit Chalice Well and Avalon Tor. Very friendly owner and Staff same as friendly customers. I must admit-I love Glastonbury. We will pop in for Gecko special when we will be around. Greetings
Izabela W — Google review
Food was very good, and decently priced, unfortunately service was very slow. It took close to 45 minutes to get the food out. Which was a shame as the atmosphere is nice enough and there's a lovely little garden around the back on nicer days. They even have a stash of toys and books to entertain little ones if you have a long wait for service. So all in all, a nice little cafe, but have had better service elsewhere in Glastonbury.

I love this place. The staff are the main draw. They’re so friendly, helpful and engaging. The food is good, and I love the coffee. Having recently moved to Glastonbury, after decades as a regular visitor, Blue Note is fast becoming a regular stop off, when out and about. Highly recommend

Not had a schnitzel since becoming vegan, very happy to see a veganised one tasting just as I recall them. Friendly staff, and the best chai I think I have had in 6 years
Dahnya H — Google review
Lovely selection of vegan cakes… nice music and atmosphere…. But… this is the only cafe I have ever visited that does not supply hot water with a small cup of tea… a £1 charge for hot water is mean spirited and I would be reluctant to return.
Julie M — Google review
I visited here today because my partner was ordering lunch. I bought a vegan pasty next door at the bakery. Upon finding seating outside the owner came out to the outside seating area barking at me that I was eating meat on her premises. The lady was extremely rude and made us feel really uncomfortable. The irony in this whole situation was that I was wearing a “Meat Is Murder” t-shirt. Also, the chef wasn’t wearing any shoes or socks so the food didn’t look too appetising. Wouldn’t recommend.
Jack M — Google review
When visiting the blue note cafe on Friday 16th of May , we experienced a very rude member of staff. We popped in for lunch and me being vegan , opted for the falafel, hummus and salad. It states it’s vegan on the menu. When my husband went to order or lunch , he was told that the falafel would be fried with cheese . My husband pointed out that the falafel would could not be classed as vegan because of cross contamination. The angry member of staff said it was . But it isn’t. My husband then asked if they also do this with the gluten free food . Cooking it with food that isn’t. The answer to that was a muted yes. When my husband came to our table to tell me of the conversation, the now very angry member of staff followed him out and started shouting at us in front of other diners . They were also shocked at her actions. It was totally uncalled for. It’s even more shocking about the preparation of the food in regards to people’s intolerances , and very dangerous. I will be taking this matter further.

Absolutely awful attitude and atmosphere and service by the host, Sadie. I confused my order and got a refund and settled the issue smoothly only to conclude the interaction with Sadie airing a really negative opinion of my character, unprovoked, self motivated slandering and name calling me, and being unecessarily antagonistic and vindicively irksome. Very unprofessional and shockingly rude. I wouldnt expect an an aggressivley opinionated barista and host to be the face of this cafe, very unwelcoming, unpleasant, the opposite of hospitable. I would not recommend dining here, the food is below average, and from the example set by Sadie, the atmosphere is stuck up and jarring. Didn't expect to get served a chip on the shoulder when going for lunch on solstice. At least the experience was true to the cafes name, a very Blue Note indeed.

Absolutely amazing place, gave me the info for the schnitzel burger (as I have an egg allergy) and even though I had just cycled from Bristol and looked rougher than a bag of rusty nails, they gendered me correctly (she/her) and were friendly. As always (been here many times in the past) the food was absolutely stellar, coffee was delicious and the atmosphere was lush. Best cafe in Glastonbury! 💜 PS - I totally came for the burger specifically, so thank you got making sure there was no egg in it for me! 💜

Bakery
Burns The Bread is a traditional British bakery located in Glastonbury, known for its range of savory treats and sweet cakes. One of their specialties is the luxury fruit cake, which is made using an old recipe found in the bakery during renovations. This cake, named after the local landscape, contains unique ingredients such as cider, Somerset scrumpy, and Cheddar cheese. The family-run bakery also offers sandwiches, pies, home-baked bread, biscuits, and pastries.
Omg, so good! Great little bakery on High Street. They have a satellite shop down by the Abbey too. Great baked goods. We had the cinnamon bun and almond croissant.

Fabulous small bakery with a huge range of cakes, parties and bread. I was very happy to find nice and well priced vegan products including (as per photos) Eccles cake, biscotti doughnut and glazed apple danish. Quite cheap compared to other places too

A very affordable bakery in downtown Glastonbury with 2 locations downtown. Treats for under £2. The sausage roll was average, not delicious.

Burns the Bread offers excellent value for money! The pastries and sandwiches are fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, and the quality is consistently great. A perfect spot for a quick bite or a treat without breaking the bank!

Traditional bakery in the heart of Glastonbury. The pasty’s are high recommended and have a distinctive taste. I also ordered the traditional Glastonbury cake which was very sweet and wholesome. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Glastonbury

This is a lovely bakery. Sausage rolls are yummy the pasties and carrotcake all really nice. I have heard great things about the fruit cake so I will have to sample it. Not too badly priced for a tourist area.

Restaurant
FARA offers a delightful dining experience with its delicious green shakshuka and house-pickled fennel that enhances the flavors of the wilted greens. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked, and adding feta complements the dish well. The menu also includes options like mushrooms on sourdough spiced with baharat, topped with soft-poached eggs, miso-flavored cashew cream, and balanced greens.
Stopped at FARA for breakfast when passing through the area. Oh man, what a treat! Phenomenal flavours, (dog) friendly laid back service with a nice chilled dubby playlist in the background. If I’m ever in the area again I will certainly be back for some more Turkish Eggs.

We visited for the first time Fara during the weekend and fell in love with its cozy and stylish atmosphere. The place is dog-friendly (a big plus for us 🐾) and the staff was lovely. We had a full breakfast that was super fresh and packed with flavor, everything tasted homemade with quality ingredients. The coffee was beautifully presented and rich, and the desserts… just wow! The cheesecake and chocolate cake were incredible. Perfect spot for a relaxing brunch or coffee date. We'll definitely be back! 💛 📍Fara Cafe ⭐ Atmosphere: 10/10 ⭐ Food & coffee: Fresh, flavorful, and comforting ⭐ Dog friendly: Yes! 🐶

I have been to FARA several times now, and my love affair with their Turkish eggs grows ever stronger. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. I love how light and airy it is, and the decor is very tasteful. Whenever me and my partner come in, the people working always give us a friendly 'Hello!', which makes it seem so much more inviting. I really appreciate their effort to make everyone feel at home. I brought my family and we all enjoyed our lunch. My grandfather has a citrus allergy, which the staff were brilliant in accommodating for. I had a seasonal slushie; I wish I could have them on tap. I wasn't able to take photos of the food because we couldn't stop ourselves from eating, it was just too good.

Had an incredible brunch at FARA in Glastonbury. The space is beautiful and calming, with such a warm and welcoming vibe. I had the Turkish eggs and honestly I'm still thinking about them 😂 - perfectly poached, rich, garlicky, spicy and comforting all at once. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. Highly recommend if you’re in town – it’s the kind of place you want to take your time in.

Had the full English at FARA in Glastonbury and it was outstanding. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and full of flavour with a little Mediterranean twist. The café itself is bright and welcoming, the staff friendly, and the vibe relaxed. A perfect spot for breakfast, highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious (and beautiful) food, seriously top-notch coffee and charming staff. My partner and I shared the Turkish eggs, patatas bravas and spring veg tartine. Couldn’t fault a thing!

Honestly, unreal customer service from this team. I’ve worked in customer service a lot of years when I was younger and I have my own business now, so I have a good understanding. I’ve been to Glastonbury 6 times and didn’t realise this place was here. A very relaxing and warm atmosphere, I sat indoors. I’m actually looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. It all looks amazing. Fantastic start to my day here after a 3 hour drive.. Thank you 💚🙏🏼

Fara is an idyllic restaurant just off Glastonbury High Street. Food caters for vegetarian and vegan diners. Beautiful garden at the rear with dining benches and tables and chairs. The full vegetarian breakfast was delicious. An array of drinks hot and cold. The freshly squeezed orange juice was lovely! 10/10. The Grape P.I.P. On. A humming byrd fluttered, Black Adder slithed.
